Send me your shirt size and address, by the way, if you do that. All right, so we're going to start off with some news. This first little bit from Senator Mike Lee. He introduces the nationwide constitutional carry to eliminate permit requirements. Oh, never happen. No, never will. This. They've introduced this before and it never went anywhere.
A
No, it ain't gonna go anywhere. They just, they're just all bullcrap.
B
No, it's all talk. I mean this is supposedly gonna repeal carry permit requirements across the United States. Of course he introduces legislation that would establish a nationwide constitutional carry and eliminate the patchwork of state laws that gun right advocates argue that have been arguing for. But you know, most of these constitutional carry states, they've got all kind of rules in place where you can't. How does, how do they manage that part of it hasn't completely constitutional carry.
A
I don't know how you're going to do not.
B
Yeah, again, there's just something to a lot of talk talking point. Yeah, again we're right in the middle of a mid year midterm elections are trying to do anything to get people to vote for them. I think we talked about it.
A
They could, but they won't.
B
Very easily though. We got the votes to do it, but they won't.
A
They.
B
They will not. That's way to be positive. I think we talked last episode about Virginia having that. Well, no, not Virginia. It was West Virginia doing the.
A
Oh my. Virginia is going down the road.
B
Let's talk about Virginia.
A
Oh man.
B
Come back to West Virginia, man. So Virginia there firearms ban passes legisl legislature. Now it said this is his. The governor's desk. It is sitting on the governor's desk. I don't think she signed it yet though.
A
It is a she. She is on top of the second amendment stuff that she's anti against. It is going full communist in Virginia. Some of the stuff that they're doing is when they're raising taxes on, on people there. They're the, some of the laws that they're trying to enact. I mean voting has consequences and it is, it is going to full communist control there. It is, it is terrible. The things that are going on in Virginia and other states around this country. It's, it's, it's a shame we're in.
B
We used to point out that no other amendment gets, gets trampled on like the second amendment does. But it know I admittedly say I'm wrong on that because the first amendment gets trampled on. The fourth Amendment gets trampled on. The fifth Amendment gets trampled on. Yeah. Maybe not as much in the legislation.
A
Yeah.
B
But they all get trampled on and it's getting worse and worse. If you lose a second then all those others are. No, if you don't have the second
A
Amendment, you don't have any rights.
B
Yeah.
A
So just do what they want.
B
This, this bill, the SB749 out of Virginia, this, this assault firearms, I put that in quotations, ban it. Under their legislation, importing, selling, purchasing or transferring a prohibited firearm would be a class firearm, would be a Class 1 misdemeanor. Violators could also face a three year prohibition on possessing firearms following a conviction from a misdemeanor. The bill also restricts the seller transfer of certain large capacity magazines defined in the statute. Can you sent me that reel on Instagram in Virginia where they were handing out free 30 round magazines to everybody and they had a table full of them just handing them out. People lined up handing out free 30 round mags before this went into effect. So good job on their part for doing that.
A
But they will become illegal. They're going to be illegal to have.
B
And even though I think there's a grandfather in clause in there now that wasn't in there originally, they can easily get rid of that and they probably will. So Virginia has really gone a direction we was hoping they wouldn't go. And I think it was the last episode when we were talking about West Virginia trying to enact a machine gun bow round a run around. Not run around, but using the 1986 prohibition. That doesn't apply to states. Well, the Senate, the West Virginia Senate president kills that machine gun bill. So it never. The bill that was introduced in late in the session aimed to expand access to fully automatic machine guns for eligible West Virginia residents. Was, did not get to a final vote. The President, the President of the Senate stated that it didn't, it wasn't written very well. So he didn't let it go through. They could bring it back up at a later time. Just ridiculous. He explained his rationale saying that describing the legislation as poorly drafted. So that's.
A
They're all liars. Yeah, but they start talking more guns though, because he's talking the news. And the anti2a stuff just starting to piss me off.
B
Yeah. Well, I got some more. Well, here we got the Texas Gun Club files a federal lawsuit challenging the 1986 machine gun ban. So this is the Temple Gun Club out of Texas. This is versus Bondi and others. So this is what kills me. They continue to talk about how Pro2A they are, but who are they suing? Bondi. Because nobody's Pro2A. Yeah. Who could easily say, okay, you're right and be done with this. The prohibition at issue originated as a floor Amendment during the 1986 debate over firearms under Protection Act. So if you really wanted to see how this got off while this 1986 cut off date, go look at the Hughes amendment back when this went through. And it's silly the way they did that. We're not going to go into a history lesson here. We might do a.
A
No, we're not.
B
We could do an extra episode and go into history of the second amendment.
A
We can go find that one we recorded years ago. And that was. That was bad.
B
That was bad. All right, so we got that and that.
A
Let's move on.
B
So you don't like that in the news section anymore. It's good for people to know what's going on.
A
Keep everybody mad. We need people mad.
B
We need people to get even more mad.
A
No matter. They still gonna do what they want to do.
B
So Philadelphia becomes the latest city to sue Glock. But unlike, you know, other cities, they're basically coming out and saying that Glock has, has been the company's unlawful, unfair, confusing and deceptive. Deceptive marketing practices is why they're suing. I don't understand. It says requiring Glock to issue clear and conspicuous warnings and disclaimers regarding the availability and lawful purchase restrictions on fully automatic lock, pistols and switches and all advertising and marketing within.
A
They're not selling fully automatic.
B
No, but they want them to say you can't have them. Well, it's already a law that you can't have them. It's just another way to sue a gun company. So just, just continues. Continues on and on. Let me keep going.
A
No, not really. You can if you want to.
B
Yeah. Here's some good news. This is out of Washington D.C. the D.C. court of Appeals, the district's own highest court ruled in a two to one panel opinion that the federals enclaves ban on magazines with a capacity of greater than 10 rounds is facially invalid under the Second Amendment. So this is coming out of Washington D.C. and you got their neighbors Virginia enacting a magazine ban. So you got the appeals court in Washington D.C. saying it's unconstitutional. You got Virginia, it just passed a law banning them. So there's. The Supreme Court is eventually gotta step in and stop this crap. It's getting, it's getting ridiculous. This is a new, a new court split that you know, should make the Supreme Court step in. But they've been, they've not, they've not done it before. So I don't know why they would do it now. But especially when this code is just expanded warrantless home entry. And this is not just around the second amendment, but it does affect second amendment laws. The Supreme Court just dropped its final opinion in the case. Case v. Montana. And this is around the Fourth Amendment. In a unanimous 9, 0 decision, the court ruled that police do not need probable cause to enter your home without a warrant. If they claim they're acting under an emergency aid or a community caretaking function,
A
they can claim that anytime.
B
Yeah, exactly. If, if officers say they reasonably believe someone inside might need help, they can kick the door without a warrant. If, even if no crime is being investigated.
A
So this, this is, you can just say hey, I thought there was somebody in there needed help. Whether you're wrong or not, they have immunity and they can.
B
Yeah, that's ridiculous. Well, anyway, so this case centers on a William Trevor case. A Montana man whose ex girlfriend called police after he allegedly threatened self harm and warned that if officers showed up he had harmed them. So what happens?
A
Why call the police then?
B
Yeah, so police respond to conduct a welfare check. Welfare.
A
They killed him.
B
Put that in quotes.
A
Did they kill him?
B
They stood outside for roughly 40 minutes shining flashlights into the home. They saw an empty handgun holster. An empty handgun holster. So not even gun, just a holster and notepad on a table. From that they concluded an emergency existed, speculating he might be writing a suicide note. So they retrieved ballistic shields, drew their weapons to a guy who's apparently threatened to kill himself. So they're gonna go in fully armed with shields.
A
Are we gonna get him now?
B
Battered down the door and entered. They eventually found Case hiding in a closet. An officer saw. An officer saw what he described as a dark object near Case's waist and fired, striking him in the arm. The dark object wasn't a gun. The handgun was later found elsewhere in the home. And from that case, the court concluded that.
A
That's ridiculous.
B
This is. Okay, nine to nothing from that count. That is so silly. Even though we say a lot, you know, the Second Amendment's always under attack. Well, here you go. Fourth Amendment's under attack as well. They can just enter your home. Oh, they can do anytime they want.
A
They can.
B
Anytime they want. Yeah, whatever. So. And you know, that's like that. What state was it we talked about last. Last episode where. I don't know if it went through. I don't think the. The. It might have been Montana.
A
I mean, I thought it wasn't it where they were trying to get it. So you could go in and.
B
Yeah. Warrantless searches.
A
You. Yeah, to go in and see if
B
your guns were stored properly. Yeah, yeah. Minnesota. That's where it was.
A
So.
B
Yeah. So it just continues on and on. No consequences for unconstitutional laws. And the DOJ said there can't be because it's not illegal to put it in unconstitutional.
A
That allowed all that happened. Yeah.
B
So. And our courts are doing it. Our DOJ is doing it. Everybody's. Everybody's got their hands in there doing that. So. So more.
A
Good start. Let's talk some guns or something.
B
More. More fun there. All right. What guns you want to talk about
A
doing some range time? You went to the range?
B
Oh, yeah. Hey, I got my new. I got a. A new AR. AR style pistol caliber and in a 40s and W caliber. Got it in a couple days before I was going to the range. You got everything down there, right? Yeah, yeah, it looks good. Yeah, that's it.
A
So it looks good. I got something.
B
Yeah, I got that 40s and W.
A
Going to try it out. Didn't even tell me it showed up.
B
Just showed up with it. Showed up with. I didn't have nothing.
A
We going to shoot it?
B
Yeah, we was going to shoot it. All right.
A
We could have shot it if you hadn't bought. Brought 380ammo for it.
B
Yeah, I brought 380 instead of 40s.
A
That's a good job.
B
Yeah, they're completely different sizes.
A
Oh, really? You think?
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I got my 40s and W and my.380 and in ammo boxes and ammo cans, and I'd forgotten I'd put the 380 in an ammo can. So I just opened up ammo can, grabbed a couple of handfuls, threw in another little container in my range bag, and I'd be ready to go.
A
Yeah, good job.
B
Until I got there at the range and started to load up a magazine.
A
Got you a new rifle. Ain't shot it yet.
B
Shot it yet. Gonna shoot it Friday.
A
Looks nice. So.
B
So I got that from Pro 2A tactical. So none of my wholesalers had any. Any good options for 40s and W. The only one I really could find was a High Point Smith and Wilson had some but I don't. It really wasn't an AR style. It had the. What the handle on it, the grip. Yeah pistol grip. But it didn't have. It really wasn't. Yeah, it didn't. Yeah, yeah.
A
Just had the buffer tube.
B
No, it just didn't look as good as this one does. So I didn't go with it.
A
Use your words, man.
B
So. But this has got the. So if you're interested Pro 2A tactical, I mean they were very good on gonna get stuff through. I'm probably gonna get myself set up as a dealer if I can get some orders from them. Of course the gas system is a blowback system. No gas block needed for that mil spec. It comes, you know the one I got has got the flash can on it which I think makes it look pretty cool with the flash can on the end instead of a. Yeah.
A
So it looks different.
B
Yeah. Looking forward to shooting that. Standard charging handle, mil spec, polished trigger and hammer. Standard blade with the pistol buffer. I might change that out to the arm brace. I've got an extra arm brace up in my gun room. I might change that out, put the arm brace on it and see. But yeah looking forward to shooting that. But if real happy with the Pro 2A tactical group. They were. You know I sent them a couple emails trying to get set up as dealer. Tell me what I need to do. The gun shipped out and just within a couple of days had that thing here. Too bad I didn't get to shoot it this past weekend but coming up this next weekend. So pretty nice. Pretty nice gun. Then I also got a new one of the new another Zulu stock to put on my. One of my 16 inch ars and we shot that this weekend at the range. I'm still. Still.
A
Those stocks are nice.
B
They are yeah.
A
They. They take away that recall very well. Yeah it is good. Well what I'll mention and we can talk about the raffle. I'm looking at getting purchasing but they kind of come about because my wife went to the range with us first time she'd been out there for a year or so.
B
Well how long has it been since we.
A
I think she's been out there a couple years now. Since I nearly killed us.
B
She said she ain't been out there since then.
A
I don't know.
B
Anyway, it's been two years.
A
Yeah.
B
The Easter would be two years.
A
Yeah. So. So took her out there. She brought her. She got the original smith and Wesson shield 9 millimeter, 8 plus 1. It's got a crimson trace laser, the green one on it. So she wanted to shoot it a little bit. So. And I noticed when she was shooting, you can see that she was pulling it down on her trigger. And I'm saying this because it gets to something I finally observed and figured out what was going on. But when she's pulling the trigger it was you know like it was yanking the gun down a little bit so she was shooting low, kept doing that, messed with the grip a little bit. She get a little bit better. But you can see it was not real steady. Moved from steel to paper. Started shooting it. I shot it a couple times to make sure it was good and zeroed. First time I shot it, I wanted to shoot it with the sights, the iron sights. I did that and then crap, it's the lasers dead on with them. So then I shot it with the laser. Then I realized my wife and made a comment. She's used. She's left eye dominant, right handed left eye dominant. But she's had eye surgery recently. So she, she was going back and forth which I was. Was that she was using to. To aim with. And I finally asked her why, why are you using your sights? So you got a laser. So you lining the laser up with the side said yeah. So well just use the laser. And the laser man, that crimson trace green laser, man, it pops, it shows
B
up even you know it was bright
A
out there and it was showing up.
B
Yeah it was.
A
It's got new batteries and it's showing up good. So when she started just doing target focus using with the laser man shot much better. So that's, that's a good. You know, I hadn't been real big on lasers until I shot that one again and there gone. That thing's nice. Yeah. And it's. It makes you target focus. If you'll use the laser you can be. You can be target focused with it.
B
So.
A
But she started shooting much better. Just.
B
I think she would do good with a red dot as well. Yeah. I know that was not set up for optic ready but yeah, similar thing.
A
Yeah. She shot my. My cannock of course my, my. My window on my red dots. Pretty scratched up and yeah, you need
B
a new red dot.
A
It makes me target focused. Yeah. So. So anyway that was a good observation. So if you're a laser or a red dot it's better to be the target focused.
B
You know you really should. Once you learn how to operate sights on your weapon you need to start working on being target focused regardless. Because in a, in a self defense situation you're going to be target.
A
Yeah.
B
You're not going to put that dot
A
on somebody and pull the trigger.
B
Yeah.
A
I got to shoot mechanic some more. Happy with that. It's still shooting good and put some more rounds to it. So no problem so far with it.
B
I know after that you get y' all are looking at a. A 9 millimeter PCC. I found one that it's out of stock right now but the Smith and Wesson response 9 millimeter PCC rifle flex mag kit. And what's cool about that is it comes with a. A couple different ways that you can fix your magazine.
A
Weld.
B
Weld well, magazine well. Where you can. It'll take Smith and Wesson mags. You can change it out where it'll take Glock mags and other manufactured manufacturers magazines. So it's pretty, pretty cool how that works. I can get you a good deal on that. So waiting for that to come back in stock. Get that thing ordered. Nice looking little 16 inch AR chamber. Yeah.
A
That'll be a home defense rifle.
B
Yeah.
A
And going 16 inch just to. I mean we can go shorter and do a.
B
You can do an AR pistol if
A
you want a caliber carbine. But I think it'll go 16 inch barrel.
B
Yeah. Yeah it looks good.
A
Throw a, throw a nice little red dot on that thing and be ready to go.
B
Hey, this other, this other firearm I ran across from Bilson Arms. B I L S O N It's interesting. A little outside of what I would pay for it. Now I'm good in the pricing here in just a minute. But it's a forward, forward charging system. It's a pump action basically and they got a couple different styles. So you got an actual, actual pump action AR style looking rifle where you have to pump it like you would have pumps, pump action shotgun every time you wanted to fire it.
A
Why would I want to do that?
B
In case you're in a, in a blue state, they won't allow you to have a semi auto weapon. You could use the same style weapon but it's pump action. And they also have this same forward, forward charging handle where you. It replaces the charging handle. On regular AR using the pump action. So you'll, you'll charge it using the pump action and you continue to shoot semi auto because it's got the gas, gas tube and everything in there that would still shoot semi auto. And if you wanted to remove a loaded casing, you could just use the pump action like you would charging handle that. So that's pretty cool. Little high price is about eighteen hundred dollars for the rifle. Oh it is about thirteen hundred dollars for an upper. But it's, it's a neat concept. And then you know, I like the innovation on that. You know, pump action they've got AR style pump action shotguns. But you know, for this to stay and if you look at the picture of it, you can see a little. You can see upon where the pump action part of it is how the pump action would charge it.
A
Yeah, I see that.
B
Yeah. So. So you wouldn't be able to change out handguards or anything on this.
A
No, because it looks nice though.
B
Yeah, I think it looks really good. I think it's a. Hey though, one other thing on my, on my ar pistol here, the 40s W, it's an M lock.
A
That's good. You can use those if I can
B
figure out how to get them on there. Yeah. But it is M lock handle. So. Yeah, I thought the Bilson arms is pretty neat. So if you're looking for something a little different than your normal charging handle for an ar and it would be cool, you know, charging it without having to it. I see where the utility of it would be nice the way you could charge it. That way you stay on target. Charge it. Right.
A
If you couldn't have semi auto. Yeah.
B
Even with Simato.
A
Yeah.
B
They got two different options. We just talked about the two options. One is semi automatic charging. The other is a fully pump.
A
I was trying, I was looking at text to what we're doing for dinner. See what I'm doing for dinner? Gosh, I'm hungry, man.
B
Pay attention.
A
I am paying attention. Mostly. I'm paying attention. Mostly.
B
That's more honest. Let me see what else I wrote down on my gear. Oh, hey, that's a wave. That's a way long time ago. Let's see The Bilson arms, Pro 2A tactical, the Zulu stock. All right. That's all I got.
A
Oh, that's good. That's good job.
B
You got anything?
A
I know I already talked about what I wanted to.
B
You didn't talk about any gear. You're talking about shooting at the range.
A
What's the gear? Smith and Wesson shield mechanic Crimson trace laser.
B
Hey, I did, you know I had
A
to miss zero man that thing. So I took some video and when you watching it, when. When that shot breaks, wherever that dot set, that's where that round was going. And then. Well, I'm saying it zeroed really well.
B
That's good. That's.
A
Shut up, man. No crap. Yeah, yeah. My scope's supposed to do that too on my ar, but it don't 0 your go sucks. My rifle sucks.
B
Yeah, I think that's part of it. I zeroed that lpvo I have on that 16 inch AR that I put that Zulu stock on. One shot, it was shooting a little low left. Moved the dot, moved the optic down to where it was zeroed. Yeah, it was zeroed. So easy. It loved it. Good optic. Yeah, it was nice. I forget what the brand of that one was, but that little lpvo is a nice easy to zero that optic. So I'll take it out. I got to zero this. I just got a little true glow on this little AR pistol that I'll zero out. Yeah, they're probably 79 bucks for that little true glow, but they work good. What it is for on? I've got another one on that 9 millimeter carbine that I've got. So pretty nice little. Little cheap optic for that. For no more than is and no more recoil than you have on those type of firearms. You know, it can. It can manage it pretty well. That's. Are you gonna sit there and text the whole time we're on the podcast?
A
I didn't text anything yet.
B
Good grief. Did you find out what you having for dinner?
A
I think we're getting burgers.
B
All that for burgers. So you've been sitting there texting for the last 15 minutes?
A
I haven't sent one text. For burgers? I haven't sent one text. I've been looking it see what my wife and my son are wanting to do.
B
Golly.
A
What you got next?
B
All right, let's move on to some use of for stuff.
A
But not been in road rage. That's all I can tell you.
B
Irritating. This first one, let's see. So this is an elderly elderly couple
A
I bet had a little road rage. We're coming over here in the. In the turn lane. Sit there for a while. Light turns green. You know what happens? Idiot people just sit there. They're just sitting there. Then the first one goes and then the one behind it is still just sitting there. Did you blow your horn? No. Well, I yelled at him. He's A man.
B
You blow.
A
I couldn't hear you.
B
I know they could have heard the horn.
A
Just got like four back and they just slow. It's just frustrating. People can't drive.
B
All right. Yeah.
A
All right.
B
You ready to move on? Yeah. All right. This verse is. Where was this? Out of Atlanta. So you got an elderly. A couple that had a violent home invasion and this was. It was. I don't know what time it was. Oh, 7:00pm around 7:00pm so it's not late. So you had a. So you had the main.
A
That's pretty late. I mean 7pm not late.
B
That's true. I'm getting ready to bed.
A
You done had your pajamas on like two hours.
B
Two hours. I get up at 4am I don't
A
want to hear it.
B
So let's see. I'm trying to see how old they were. I don't see if it says how old they were. It just says elderly couple probably.
A
That's probably what it was most likely.
B
So it's interesting. So you had the. It was a multi story house. You had the husband who was downstairs and the wife was upstairs. So.
A
So two story.
B
Multi story. I didn't say if it was more than that. I'm just telling you. He said they have lived in this house for more than 20 years and never experienced serious crime in the area before the incident. Quiet evening changed suddenly when a man barged into the lower level of their home around 7pm While the couple was watching movies on different floors. Makes sense.
A
Yeah. Yeah. Why not?
B
Yeah, that's about right. I agree 100%. The police later arrested 36 year old Raymond D. Darden, who now faces charges including burglary and criminal trafficking.
A
So he burst in.
B
What happened? He said that the elderly man, whose name is David, I mean he's a.
A
Come on, keep going.
B
The intruder suddenly appeared inside the home and confronted him. Shocked to find a stranger standing in his house, David told the man to leave.
A
Yeah, good idea.
B
Instead of leaving, the suspect became. Became aggressive, cursing and behaving erratically. Yeah, that's what David's do. Recognizing the danger.
A
Oh wait.
B
David's a good guy.
A
Never mind.
B
The suspect was Ramon. He was the one who cursed.
A
Yeah, we already knew that.
B
I made a wrong comment there. David moved quickly. He locked himself. Yeah, this is what David's doing.
A
Oh my gosh.
B
He locked himself inside a room and called 91 1.
A
Staying on the wife.
B
She's upstairs. Staying on the phone with Atlanta police. While the officers responded to the scene upstairs, Mary heard the commotion unfolding below. She Immediately reached for a handgun she keeps close by her.38 caliber pistol that she affectionately calls Sweet Jane.
A
Oh. Apparently, Mary is the man of the house.
B
Mary grabbed the revolver from under her pillow and moved into a defensive position, Hiding while watching the hallway. Using reflections from David Locked in the bathroom, Using reflections from the bathroom mirror so she could see if the intruder approached while David remained locked down.
A
Oh, now, see, I'm not telling this story if it was me, but I'm busting my head up against a mirror or something. I'm coming out bleeding.
B
Can we get through this and we
A
can talk about responds here? I am not telling you a story like this. I'm not saying I locked myself in the. In the bathroom while my wife was getting armed. There's no way I'm telling the story like this.
B
I can't finish the story. Shut up. I do like that this guy's name is David.
A
Yeah, I don't.
B
While David remained locked down on the phone with dispatchers, the suspect reportedly wandered through the house for a period of time, Moving room to room down David.
A
While the wife is clearing the house.
B
David said the man appeared to be smoking and even turned family photographs face down while roaming the home. How did he even know that?
A
I don't know. His wife probably told him.
B
I mean, he's still in that room.
A
You can come out now. Honey's already gone. You're going to love this part. I don't like it at all. You going to love this part.
B
For more than an hour after police arrived, David still had not been able to reach Mary and did not know where she was inside.
A
What do you mean, more than an hour?
B
But he told reporters he wasn't worried about her ability to defend herself. I know. I know she's capable of defending herself. They had better hope they get me and not Mary.
A
Yeah, I think that's a correct statement. Yeah. Yeah. My guess is, oh, boy, There ain't defending himself. Oh, my gosh. How can you go an hour not know where your wife's at?
B
The couple said they are grateful to law enforcement and thankful they both survived the ordeal.
A
And she's looking for a man to marry.
B
Oh, my.
A
You know, she tells him what to do, when to do it, and how to do it.
B
Hey, hey, you gotta give David credit. He created time and distance by locking himself in a room and calling the police. Mary prepared to defend herself.
A
He didn't even call his wife until, hey, there's somebody in the house. He didn't do anything.
B
He could have been yelling at first hey, there's somebody. I hope so. I bet he wouldn't say.
A
I bet he was in there. Quiet. Well, what are we not. Situational awareness sucks.
B
Yeah, yeah. No, readiness sucks for David.
A
Readiness.
B
Mary's readiness was very good, and she did what she's supposed to. She. She. She got her in a position. She didn't go looking for the trouble. She waited in case it came toward her.
A
Are you saying David didn't do right by calling the police?
B
No, I didn't say David didn't do right. I think it's exactly what a David would do.
A
No, it's not exactly what a David would do. That's awful. This story is awful, man. There's no way I'm telling a story like this. I'm after this. I'll go to my wife and tell her to punch me in the face because apparently she could do it.
B
I think your wife's gonna punch you in the face and you do this anyway.
A
Tell her if I do, she better punch me in the face. Then when the police show up. I mean, this guy beat the crap out of me. I couldn't do anything. I threw the. I grabbed the gun and threw it to my wife.
B
He needs to be better prepared and better.
A
He needs to be prepared. Do something. My gosh.
B
Don't leave your wife just hanging on her own.
A
Oh, my word.
B
This guy. It didn't say that. Intruder was armed, which is another thing. It didn't. Nervous said that he was on. Apparently he just left on his own because they didn't. It doesn't seem like they.
A
Well, he arrested him, walked around the house. Turn the pictures over and left.
B
Let me see this.
A
Is he probably coming? Mary probably confronted him. He ran off.
B
Here we go. It says authorities believe the suspect may have entered through an unlocked side door near the garage. Something the homeowner said they have since corrected. Yeah. Don't leave if you're not going to be protecting yourself. Make sure you keep your doors locked. Keep your doors locked. Anyway. My gosh. Don't. They. Don't leave your doors on.
A
Well, if you're. If you're.
B
If you're this guy.
A
I'm not even gonna say the name because if you. If you're. This guy, don't leave your door online.
B
It says the Atlanta police eventually located and arrested the suspect inside the home and cleared the scene.
A
Inside the home?
B
Yeah, he was still inside the home.
A
They found Mary at this point.
B
It was an hour before they did.
A
How long does it take an hour to find this lady? How big Is this house?
B
Maybe he was talking to the police and didn't go check on her for an hour. I don't know.
A
How big is that?
B
I don't know, man. I'm just telling you. For more than an hour after police arrived, David still had not been able to reach Mary and did not know where she was. Inside the house. That's what it says.
A
That's got to be the worst story ever.
B
So it's the greatest story ever. It's awful.
A
We won't come up with some other options. Hey, maybe. Maybe this. This guy about this there's apparently using somebody else's name.
B
That's gonna be our title. David should have armed himself.
A
It's not going to be the title because I'm the one that puts this online. It ain't gonna be the title. Oh, my gosh. I don't even know what else to say about this. There's a terrible job by. By the guy.
B
Good job. I'm glad law enforcement was able to get in and get this guy. I'm glad this guy didn't get aggressive and hurt either one of them. But you got to be better prepared than that. You got to be able to protect your wife. I mean, come on.
A
You got to protect your family. That's your job.
B
Yeah.
A
As a man.
B
Absolutely.
A
Protect your family.
B
100. Don't go locking yourself in and just say, ah, my wife can take care of herself.
A
She's on her own. I'm calling the police. Locked up in his room.
B
Yeah, she. She's all right.
A
She got it.
B
She's up there watching John Wick right there.
A
Yeah, I'll eventually. I'll eventually find her.
B
Not for an hour. Golly.
A
All right, what's next?
B
That's horrible. That's awful. You know what's bad is before I just read it just now.
A
I didn't.
B
I didn't pay attention to the name of my husband. That's awesome. Oh, man, I'd have been so excited about that before.
A
What's next?
B
This is from Chicago. This is a Chicago homeowner shoots an alleged intruder. Well, I don't know how alleged he is if he shot him in his house, but anyway, invited him in the south side breaking. So I should say, hey, like.
A
Like, if you came in my house, I guess I'd be a lead shooter.
B
Or you'll be hid somewhere, so I
A
ain't too worried about it.
B
I ain't hiding. Come on.
A
Let's find out. You break in and find out.
B
As long as your wife ain't around, I should be all right.
A
Yeah, you find out.
B
So this one you got a Chicago homeowner and it. It in the news reported it stated with a valid concealed carry license defended his property. And they had, they put that. Because if you don't have a valid concealed carry license in Illinois, you can't have a gun in your home.
A
Well, you can if you have a float car, right?
B
Yeah, you get.
A
Yeah, you don't have to have a concealed carry license. You just gotta have a Freud card, right?
B
No, I looked it up. You have to have a concealed care
A
license to have it in your home.
B
Yep.
A
Man, we get in free.
B
Double check with that. But I'm pretty sure that's what it said.
A
You know, we've done Illinois. We all know this.
B
It's been a long time ago. That was the eyes. Oh, good job. Oh, is it? We're already in the R's.
A
Yeah, you're right about that.
B
Remember all that? Oh, I forgot I had some in the news on Rhode Island. We can bring it up when we talk.
A
Yeah, we'll bring it up because Rhode island sucks. And if you live in Rhode Island, I'm sorry, but you stay for second amendment sucks.
B
Yeah, we'll talk about that. So according to Chicago police, this incident occurred around239.8.boy. They specific 239 on March 7th, so it's not been too long ago. Police say a 59 year old man was attempting. What in the world is a 59 year old man doing breaking into homes. My gosh. Into a residential garage. When. So he's breaking into the garage. When the homeowner confronted him, the homeowner drew his gun. And it, it stated again, authorities reported that the homeowner, who holds a valid Illinois concealed carry license, drew a firearm and fired at the suspected intruder. The suspect was struck in the right calf and transported to the University of Chicago Medical center where he was listed in good condition. At latest reports, charges against the suspect were pending and detectives from CPD's Area 1 unit are investigating the incident. That homeowner has not been publicly identified and police have not indicated that he faces any charges.
A
Oh, man, I heard about like nine gunshots last night.
B
I hear him over here all the time.
A
Well, but I'm. I'm in the neighborhood. It was.
B
I was.
A
I thought somebody. I saw my neighbor done shot somebody.
B
Did he?
A
I don't guess. I hadn't seen any police come. I watched my camera a little bit, see if any police come rolling by. Yeah, it's weird. All right. So Situational awareness, this guy.
B
You hear somebody break into your. Going into your garage? Yeah, pretty good.
A
Pretty good.
B
At 2:39 in the morning. 2:39am I got it.
A
So readiness.
B
He had his.
A
He had his firearm with him. Yeah.
B
Good job. Accuracy. Shot him in the calf. Maybe he was just trying to. Well, you don't know that.
A
I guarantee you he was.
B
I guarantee you he pulled that gun down.
A
Yeah, he guarantee you he flinched.
B
Yeah, he flinched. Yeah, he pulled that gun.
A
Effective.
B
Yeah, it was effective.
A
Even effective. Yeah. Calf shot's effective.
B
Yeah.
A
It appears to be lawful. Appears to be moral. So other options, I guess is to. To not go out there to call police. What other options you got there? I mean, it's not really. He's in your garage, he's not in your house yet.
B
Yeah. I mean, to your point, call the
A
police, set your car alarm off.
B
Yeah.
A
You could do something inside your home.
B
If he tries to come in your side, your home, then do something. But I mean, you know, somebody's in my garage, I'm probably going out as well. I get it. You probably shouldn't.
A
Who the hell you got in the garage?
B
Did it say set a side door? Okay. Some garages have side doors.
A
Yeah. I used to have back door in my garage, but anymore I moved. Okay.
B
Yeah. Your son recruits that, by the way.
A
Oh, whatever. Yeah, good.
B
Good job on his part. Took care of himself. All the elements of self defense were there. You don't have to have eminence just because if you break it into your home. That's already implied. Even in. Even I think even in Chicago.
A
Good on his part. Yeah, I think he did a good job. Hopefully he didn't get charged. Being in Illinois. Shouldn't have to have a license to be in your own home. Shouldn't have to have a license to be outside of your home with a gun.
B
Yep.
A
But here we are.
B
Yeah, here we are.
A
What you got next?
B
So this one's out of Houston. So you got a Houston store owner who shoots a robbery suspect who posed as police. And this is interesting. Yeah, I'll kind of go through. So video shows a southwest Houston. There is a video on it if you look up Houston, Texas. Houston store owner. This was back mid year of 2025. So you have to go back a little bit to find this one. So video shows a southwest Houston business owner and his wife pulling guns on a robbery suspect. They say identified himself as a police officer. Officer. But later he identified himself as not. However, when he was holding the guy down. Let's see a Masked man holding a gun and a flashlight quickly runs up to Reyes, who was taking some. He was taking the trash out, I believe. And the man was wearing a vest with the words marshal on it. He says, I'm a cop. I'm the police. Get on the floor. And the guy, the store owner said, I didn't do anything. Although the only one the suspect was visible there, there. Apparently there was a another suspect driving a car. After the man forced Reyes, which is the store owner, to the ground, he. Reyes said he revealed his true intentions. When he got me on the floor, he told me, it's a robbery, it's a robbery. I'm not the police. What the crap did he had to tell him?
A
Did he not just rob him? I don't know if you really had to tell him. I mean, you can do you have to tell them. So, I mean, we're not talking about the most intelligent people, so.
B
So Reyes said his wife was watching everything from inside the store. And you can see her retrieving a gun on video before she walks outside and points it at the arm.
A
We got some good wives here.
B
Yeah. This ain't David this time though. This is this guy David.
A
Don't hit him head on the ground. Well, if it's the same guy.
B
She walks outside and points it at the armed suspect. The suspect starts to run away, losing his shoes and gun in the process.
A
Oh my gosh.
B
Maybe this was David.
A
Now David ain't got no gun.
B
True, Reyes the seizes the opportunity to draw his own weapon and fires multiple rounds, at least one, which hits the suspect, who then crawls to his getaway car. Reyes fires. Hey, here's the one I want to talk about.
A
Well, I mean, he was already running off. Probably. Probably should have let that go.
B
Reyes fires a final parting shot as the car pulls away.
A
Oh my gosh. What the crap?
B
The police told me I did a great job. He said.
A
Oh, good.
B
Good thing he's in Houston.
A
Made lucky.
B
Yeah. While both Rez and his wife weren't harmed, he shudders to think how differently things could have turned out. Yeah, he could.
A
He shouldn't have done that last shot.
B
Yeah, I agree. That's what I wanted to talk about.
A
Yeah. I mean the ones as he's running off when you're is iffy enough, just the way our courts, our prosecutors are now. But the one is is in the vehicle probably shouldn't have happened.
B
Yeah, I don't blame him because he said when he initially refused the suspect's demands for his valuables, the suspect Threatened to kill him. He said. He said he put the gun to in my head and told me, I can kill you right now. And police said the injured suspect showed up at a hospital, but.
A
Oh, he hit him, huh?
B
Yeah. I told you that, man. You don't listen. Nobody listens to me.
A
Yeah, shot in the car. I told you he shot him.
B
Any dude had to crawl to the getaway carding.
A
I heard that. I heard that.
B
Yeah.
A
Hey, my bad. Calm down, man.
B
It says the suspect, injured suspect showed up at a hospital. But the, but the charges have yet to be filed. Not with a witness. And said the investigation is ongoing.
A
Well, all right, all right.
B
Let's talk about situational awareness. He let a guy get up on him before he had a chance to do anything.
A
Move. Yeah, he's going outside, taking the garbage out.
B
Cuz, you got a guy showing up in a vest and a. In a mask with Marshall wrote on his vest.
A
Yeah, but he didn't see that. He's. He, he.
B
I just thought he seen that.
A
But not when he first walked out. Not until the guy yelled at him.
B
See that masked man holding a gun in a flashlight quickly runs up to Reyes, who notes that the man was wearing a vest with the words Marshall on it.
A
Well, as he's running up to him.
B
As he's running up to him.
A
Yeah. So he's seen him running up to him and then whatever. All right.
B
I mean, you can just shoot the guy with a Marshall vest on.
A
He's running. Can you not?
B
Well, can you?
A
I don't know.
B
If you see, I don't know if he's got a gun out, yelling, I'm a marshal and get on the ground. I'm the police.
A
I don't know.
B
That's tough.
A
It is a difficult situation to be in.
B
Yeah, very difficult situation. Because if he had shot him and it turned out to be the police, I guarantee you'd be charged for that. Yeah, so. Yeah, that's, that's tough.
A
Tough situation.
B
So I give him, I give him a pass on the situational awareness on that part.
A
Well, we don't know. He wasn't carrying, right? No, he was kidding. Yeah. Hey, calm down. I got it. I forgot. I forgot. Just relax over there. He was carrying, so he was ready.
B
Once he got up, he pulled his
A
gun, pulled his gun, put one into him, and then gave him a party shot. I got it. Just relax over there. So he was ready. He was fairly accurate. Yeah. Put him into the hospital. His, his gun use was effective.
B
He's already leaving. Yeah, he's lucky. When the car was pulling out.
A
He's lucky. Came and saved him.
B
Yes. Very, very much so.
A
Good. Good on our part. Another reason we say we both carry.
B
Yep.
A
Because if she wasn't carrying, then she has no way to stop that. Nope.
B
She's just gonna watch her husband get robbed.
A
Maybe shot in the face. Shot. Yeah.
B
So good job on both their parts.
A
I think so, too.
B
The only thing I would say, you know, I know it's adrenaline's running and, you know, don't hit that. Don't pop off at last shot.
A
Yeah.
B
Because you can get yourself in trouble with that. You got to be able to. To rein it in. And when the thread is gone, stop.
A
Yeah. You talk situational awareness. I mean, you got to take your garbage out, but there you go. Maybe wait till in the morning or. I don't know, maybe. Maybe late at night. It's not the best time to do it. I'm not sure.
B
I'm trying to see what time it said it was.
A
My guess is close to closing time. They took the garbage out, they're waiting on them, and they rob them.
B
Yeah. It says in there, you can see the store owner, Javier Reyes, walking outside to dispose of some trash when a red car pulls up.
A
Yeah. So a lot going on there. They probably had it staked out, so. Yeah.
B
Yeah. It sounded like they're just waiting on him. Yeah. So it might have been watching. And see these. He's done this before. About what time?
A
All right, what else you got?
B
That is all the use of force stuff I've got. That's it.
A
That's good. Let's talk some Rhode Island.
B
Before you get into your stuff, I got three things.
A
All right.
B
You cannot bypass a nick's check with a concealed care permit. In Rhode island, they are 48th in gun ownership with 14.8% of households having one gun. There's two states below them, and they're both at 14.9% or something. Or something like that. They're so close. They're in the bottom. Bottom of it. And then Rhode Island. Let's see, they've got a couple bills. Are you talking about the bills they've got in and now just existing laws? No, there's a couple gun measures in Rhode Island. H H8073. That does exactly what HSC is. A assault weapons ban. And then there's H7755, which would expand the state' Responsible Firearm Purchasing Act. Under the current law, anyone purchasing a handgun must provide the seller with a valid training certificate issued by The Rhode Island Attorney General and after the sale has been approved they're subjected to a 7 day waiting period for the handgun. If H7755 would expand that requirement to all gun sales in the state in orderly. In order to simply purchase a gun to keep in the home, you'd have to take an eight hour training course to complete with a live fire requirement. Not just to conceal carry. So any gun or magazine band that allows exit. So this, that's what the H8073 is another. So and I don't think there's any grandfathering stuff in there. So basically if you have the assault weapon or the so called assault weapon of the high capacity magazine, if this goes through then you would be in violation of law. If you don't turn it in, you're up felon.
A
Yeah, well you already can't have a high capacity magazine in Rhode Island.
B
Yeah, this would. Yeah, what it was. This expands it then.
A
Let me give you a summary of Rhode Island. I'm going to just read this because there's a lot to it. They are not constitutional carry. So here's, here's Rhode Island. Rhode island is a shall issue state by state law. But the Attorney General may issue licenses as well. Licensees licenses to carry concealed weapons are issued at the local level by the police chief or by the Attorney General.
B
Before you go on, here's what this H8073 does. So the state's ban on the sell and transfer modern sporting rifles which is only adopted a year ago would be expanded to prohibit the possession of those arms beginning July 1st of this year. Simply keeping the gun you left lawfully purchased can end result in a 10 year prison sentence and or a fine up to $10,000.
A
They did the same thing with magazines in 2022. I'm going to read that to you in a minute. Under Rhode island law, local law enforcement shall issue licenses to eligible applicants if it appears. Now see this is what gives me they claim shall issue. So here if it appears that the applicant is. Is a suitable person to be licensed and either has good reason to fear an injury to his or her person or property or has any other proper reason for carrying a handgun.
B
That's not shall issue.
A
No, that's. The Rhode Island Attorney General also may issue a license to carry a handgun concealed or not to a person age 21 or older who makes a proper showing of need for the license and has certification of his or her ability to use the handgun. The Attorney General issue license unlike the. Unlike that issued by Local authorities can also be granted to undocumented persons. In order to purchase a handgun, a buyer must have a Rhode island license to carry concealed weapons and lccw. So that's the purchase. You gotta have a license to carry to be able to purchase. And to get the K license you got to go through a training course. So I know how you get that without having a gun. Or obtain a blue card from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management. A background check is required to buy a handgun from a private individual. The background check is obtained through the state police or local chief of police. Firearms registration is not required in Rhode Island. Open carry is only legal in Rhode island with a Rhode Island LCCW issued by the Attorney General. LCCWs issued by the local authorities are for concealed carry only. Concealed carry is also legal only with a Rhode island lccw. It's just crazy. However, let's see, let's go here. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and and are required to explain why they need a firearm and how remedy their problem and must provide three notarized references. Firearms training course that includes a live fire test is required. Non residents that have a permit from their home state may apply for a LCCW through local law enforcement. The Attorney general may issue LCCWs to non residents without permission permits from their home state. Some areas are off limits even within lccw, including state parks and federal buildings. In terms of reciprocity, Rhode island does not honor permits from any other state. That's a quick summary. Rhode island sucks. Magazine limits for handguns. Yes they do. Governor Daniel McGee McKee signed into law a magazine restriction of no more than 10 rounds. The law went into effect on July 1, 2022. The new law limiting magazine size gives current owners a high capacity magazines 6 months to modify them, surrender them to police or transfer them to people in states where they are legal. After that, anyone still in possession of an outlawed magazine could face up to five years in prison or a fine up to $5,000.
B
That's so they double it for the assault weapons.
A
This is something they're doing and similar to something doing in Virginia. So in Virginia they're, they're making criminals their bond list and, and doing all these things like that while they're making law abiding citizens that have magazines criminals. So it's, it's nuts.
B
Yep.
A
Man, I can. I don't know what else to say about Rhode island other than it sucks.
B
It is not a pro second amendment state, which I'm beginning to think there are none just from even Alabama trying to introduce anti to aid it's going to surprise you.
A
They got red flag laws.
B
No, there's a shocker.
A
Law enforcement agency may file a petition that shall enjoin the respondent from having his or her possession, custody or control any firearm or shall further enjoin the respondent from purchasing, receiving or attempting to purchase or receive any firearms while the order is in effect. Yeah, you don't have a duty to inform the officer that you got a gun but hey most likely you don't so it ain't no big deal because the state sucks for 2a.
B
Yeah yep.
A
I mean any I don't know what else to say on this other than it's just terrible for for gun laws. They do have ammunition restrictions armor piercing so but that's pretty much as I look at these more and more it gets more and more frustrating how much our God given right is infringed upon even though we have a constitution that is supposed to limit our government from doing that and it still does it and there's no recourse we our state could go in and put a law in and what are we going to do? Go vote somebody out. Big deal. They're not going to change anything.
B
Nope.
A
Just like what it was where was I telling what state Virginia was that one that the their legislators voted in.
B
Oh the exemption. Yeah they gave themselves an exemption from the law that they passed that everybody else has to follow.
A
Right.
B
So they could have guns in their vehicles in the in their parking lot but everybody else nobody else can because they think they're better than us.
A
They're going to they're putting themselves on exemption.
B
They're getting. They're going to vote themselves an exemption.
A
So as long as we allow our leaders they represent not like they're king
B
really representation there it's good representation.
A
It's terrible.
B
We got to get them corrupt everyone.
A
Oh absolutely corrupt.
B
Get there make 150000 a year and they come out millionaires as and then
A
have they don't follow the same laws that they put into effect for us. So anyway Rhode island don't go there with your gun.
B
Oh yeah but oh there was one
A
other thing I was going to mention if you were just if you were. If we were driving through Rhode Island.
B
Oh man. I bet you you can't do that.
A
Yeah I think you can but you can't stop. I wouldn't do it.
B
What if you gotta go to the bathroom?
A
No no no. You better keep rolling boy. I think you can drive through, but you. You.
B
You can't.
A
I think you probably stop and go to the restroom. But see, merely transporting the firearm through the state in a vehicle or other convenience without any intent to remain within the state of Rhode island is. Is valid.
B
So man, how you gonna. So you. Let's say you go into a gas station, get gas. Cop sees that you're from out of state and he says he wants to come check, see if you've got a firearm. And if you do, you're. Man, I would be so nervous for that.
A
You better have it locked. You better have it. The ammo in a separate container.
B
Yeah. You know, when I take trips, I always try to find my routes where I can stay in states I don't want to.
A
It says they're not going to do anything. But I wouldn't go to Rhode island because guess who's going to. Guess who's going to do enforce that unconstitutional law? The police. The police.
B
The enforce all these unconstitutional laws and continue to enforce them, whether it's the second Amendment or a first Amendment or whatever they don't want to do. They enforce them and they use the excuse. Well, I'm just doing my job.
A
Until we get a group of people that won't enforce unconstitutional laws, I don't think it matters.
B
No, I mean the courts have. No, the courts can't do anything. And they, they. Well, you've seen SCOTUS made it easier to go into somebody's home.
A
It's crazy.
B
District attorneys just want to convict people. They don't care if they're guilty. Guilty or not. And police are just doing their job.
A
Yeah. Anyway, hopefully the next episode we'll be talking about a new rifle that you going to finally get for me.
B
Yeah, well, I'll be talking about my 40s and W. Hopefully I'll take the right ammo with me.
A
When you get to shoot that thing,
B
shoot that a little bit. Oh, man. There's a good deal from Xander's on a over under shotgun. Oh my gosh. So you get that if I order that one rifle for you, I might be over under Shotgun 3.99. I'm still wondering if I had to
A
go with the pistol caliber carbine instead of a 16 inch barrel, but anyway, that much weight too.
B
Did you look and see the. I look and see. Yeah, I don't know on the price on the pistol.
A
Yeah, I have to look at it again.
B
Yeah, I'll look and see whether. See if they've got some of those available. Let me look on my. Yeah. I'll look and see if these, you know, those are even in stock or not. They might be. So I'll check the last thing I got. You know, we already made a call out to John from New Jersey. Again, thanks for the review. You know, send us a Review. Give us 5 stars on Apple so we can get this algorithm really rolling it there.
A
Yeah, we need some likes. We need listening.
B
Ship up. We did get a new message from Dave from Australia. I always want to thank him for sending this.
A
Yeah, good stuff. Yeah. And we'll. We'll get with him more as we get closer to doing more comfortable. When we get down with the United States, then we'll. We'll start reaching.
B
I'm hoping he can record something for us that we can play together. He's gonna see if he can't do that and send it to us. That'd be cool to have him on there.
A
Yeah, we can splash that in for sure.
B
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. That'd be pretty neat. He did give us a little bit of a news. He sent us a YouTube video from one of their news reports too that we'll put into the show notes. Okay. It's in my newsletter.
A
If you don't get I gotta put in the show notes. Yeah.
B
I'll give you this piece of paper so you can put it in the show show notes. So go and watch it. Which is video is from the Australian Broadcasting Commission. He was a bit surprised on. On how well they did this report. So good job on his part and he, he wrote a lot of things that haven't changed for him except because the other states and their new laws, all the reloading data online has been blocked to stop bomb making. Instructions online. That's what they say they sound. But he also made this other statement. I'm about to ping him because I don't know what this means. Not all of it. Anyway. He says I may not support the views of the protesters shown. I guess it was the video. But I do support free speech by anyone who stays in the parks and doesn't block traffic or generally is a PITA to everyone else. P I. T A. I don't know. It's got to be an Australian. I gotta look that up. I might have just cussed on you. I forgot to look it up. So anyway, I thought that's pretty, pretty enriching. But we'll put this video into the show notes. You can see what's going on in Australia. I like to keep everybody up to date because, you know, Dave's one of our listeners. It provides us with a lot of information and some pretty cool stuff when he gets new guns. So I noticed it and isn't shown us anything he's. He's gotten here lately, but hopefully he's still enjoying the.
A
Are you looking up? Oh, you can tell me for pain in the ass.
B
Oh, nice. Oh, okay, I got you. Nice. That's hilarious. All right, that makes sense. All right, cool. Well, that's all I got. You got anything else?
A
No, I'm good.
B
That could be our title. Don't be a Peter.
A
Don't be a Peter.
B
All right, I got some titles suggestions over here we can talk about after. Yeah, we sign off here. That's all. You don't have anything else?
A
No, I'm good.
B
All right. We are everything guns.
A
We're out.
B
Yeah, as long as you're not a Peter.

The hosts engage in candid, sometimes humorous conversation, critique current legislation, and share practical shooting and self-defense advice—all in their lively, good-natured style.
