This podcast documents the process and the impact of emotional abuse and coercive control over the course of a 30-year marriage.
This form of abuse is slow, subtle and carefully hidden. Victims rarely speak out because it is not defined by any one action but rather a long-term pattern of continuous fear and intimidation that builds over time, making it difficult to explain. But its impact can ultimately be deadly.
This podcast is intended to describe in detail how it happens, the warning signs, and how anyone can become a victim. But it also describes the mental, emotional and physical impact which is so often misunderstood.

In episode 2 I wrap up the review of our early marriage, describing early signs of illegal activity almost 20 years ago and continuing as emotional abuse intensified and lies were revealed. But with threats and intimidation, he demanded trust and I was compelled to stay. This is the same pattern by which sexual predators identify and groom their victims.

In episode 1 I share moments from our early marriage to reveal patterns of deceit and pushing sexual boundaries from the beginning.

The true story of how I discovered my husband was a pimp.
