I'll say this, like, it's this, like, people obviously see from the outside how well we were on the field and stuff, but, man, like, the climb, the challenges to get to that point, the. The ota, like, you starting, like, people don't realize you start so far ahead to. To building what you want at the end of the. The year. And we started OTAs, and that is when Vic Fangio came in and introduced us, the defense to a thing called Box Drill. So box.

Box drill just started it today.

Box drill set that mentality on the defensive side. Well, I think some of the best moments were just seeing everybody. I'm being so cliche, but, like, seeing everybody, like, get together, like, being cool with each other.

You know, like, it's. It's tough to. I don't know you. I always tell everybody that you want to. To go into your workplace and be. Be able to laugh and have fun with whoever and be able to enjoy being around the person you see every day.

Yeah. Because there's. There's a lot of guys from. From a lot of different places everywhere. But.

I'm like, you know, like, I think I was.

I just remember seeing the video of everybody on the sideline reacting and. But, like, going crazy because no one can.

You got a bunch of grown men that's been playing the sport forever and have never seen anything like that. Have you ever seen anything like that?

Dude's a freak. But, like, he didn't, like, go down, like, after. I mean, it took him a little.

Bit, but I think Smitty's catch in the back of the end zone was that same. That same game too.

But we responded really well. Like, it wasn't one of those, like, oh, man, we like, no, like, suck it up. There's still a lot left.

Then everybody coming back and we got it rolling. And then into the playoffs, who do we play? First round, Green Bay packers rematch.

That's how you go into it. But then once you're holding the Lombardi Trophy, it's like, oh, my gosh. This is like what I've been dreaming of since I was a kid watching.

I don't know. It was a great experience because, like, I don't know if it's still. I don't think it still hit me, which is probably. It's definitely a good thing because it's like, okay, what's next?

But like, just seeing everybody yet, like my family, my. My fiance, and like, just. Just so, like, tears of joy and I'm like, I'm so Happy too. But like when is going to hit me?

And then I ended up popping champagne sprayed all over the place.

We got married. And I'll tell you this, I'm fortunate enough because everybody says, just wait till the wedding planning. Just wait till the wedding planning. And I'm like, oh, my gosh. Like, I don't want to stress out about it because, you know, during the season, like, it's a different type of stress.

[Cooper]

Yeah.

[Reed]

And she was so. She was so good about keeping everything just. This is exactly what you need to do. As in, I need to get my suit. I need to be there when the food tastes, which is fine. I love the food tasting now. Now the colors and stuff. Like, I had no idea. Like, we were. She came up training camp one day, and I guess she was talking to our new dietitian, nutritionist Steph, Stephanie. And I don't. I don't know how I got. She's like, so, Stephanie, do you like the. The color of the wedding? I'm like, yeah. Supposed to be like. Like, this color. She's like, no, it's not. I'm like, what? So she done. Elsa done told my fiance also, she done told her that it's a different color now. Blue. Like a. Like a. Some type of blue.

[Cooper]

So you've done no planning.

[Reed]

I would say that you haven't helped at all. I mean, I like to give my opinions. Now, listen, like, there's a couple, like, surprises thrown into it, you know?

[Cooper]

July 4th weekend, dude. Oh, don't want to spill the beans.

Big day. Dude, speaking of, you know, proposing. Well, when you talk about proposing, dude, I have never in my life been so nervous. So we got a place in Tennessee. Whatever.

Yeah, let's talk. Let's talk about the proposal.

[Reed]

I was like. I said I was so nervous. She knew that it was bound to happen because I told her. I was like, yeah, we're going. Like, I promise you before I go in training camp, you will have a ring on your finger now, regardless what day I pick. Whatever. So this is coming down to the wire, dude. Like, so I get the ring, whatever. And I'm like, I'm. I don't know. It's like, when do I do it? You know, I keep pushing it back, Keep pushing it back. I'm like, okay, let's do. Let's do 4th of July. Let's do 4th of july. You know, let's. Let's. Let's go to this vineyard, like, make it all pretty. I'm like, God, I gotta hire a photographer. I gotta do this. Because, you know, they want the pictures.

[Cooper]

Do you think she knew? Did she know it was coming?

[Reed]

Like, yeah, she had an idea. Because I think her mom actually was like, we need to go get your nails done. You know, it's. Which is fine. Like, that's. I'd rather her look, whatever, you know, minor. Minor dirty, you know?

[Cooper]

Yeah.

[Reed]

But speaking of the proposal, so I was like, fourth of July, we're gonna make up a story, and her family's gonna be in on it. So, like, her family ended up coming to her. Her family's house, her parents house in Murfreesboro. And my family drove up too. So, like, after the proposal, we were gonna go there, whatever, and just surprise her like that. Well, I woke up that morning and I'm like, oh, my gosh, I'm fisting that feel like I'm fisting a player up. Yeah, fixing. Sorry. To play a football game. Like, when I tell you, dude, I didn't say a word to her the whole morning. I'm Laying in bed until I have to get up. She's getting up, getting ready, whatever. We're supposed to meet her parents or. Yeah, her parents for brunch. And I don't even know if this place is open.

[Cooper]

What?

[Reed]

Yeah, I don't. Because it's fourth of July. Like, I don't know. I don't. I. I honestly don't know. So I'm like, this place not even going to be open. And sure enough, it wasn't. It didn't open till, like, 12.

[Cooper]

Oh, so you're good then?

[Reed]

Well. Well, I didn't say I didn't eat anything. Like, I honestly. You were nervous, dude. I was so nervous.

[Cooper]

So were you more nervous for that or the Super Bowl?

[Reed]

Just close, dude, I'm telling you, I. I had to go eat a slice of turkey so I didn't pass out. It's weird, bro. It's. It's weird. And she was like, why are you being weird?

[Cooper]

I'm like, so you gave it away?

[Reed]

Well, you pretty much say this. I just go ahead and tell you the whole thing. So.

[Cooper]

Yeah. Come on.

[Reed]

So I have the ring. So the ring comes in, you know, the. The normal box you see on a normal basis, I guess. I don't know. Whatever.

[Cooper]

Yeah, ring box.

[Reed]

Yeah, ring box. So, see, I'm even nervous talking about it, but. So it came with another, like, a tiny engagement box. But it's freaking. You know, it's an inch tall, whatever. So I put it in my. My truck, like, side pocket, and I left it in there overnight. Thank gosh, nobody stole it. That's the most dumbest thing I've done. But thank gosh, I didn't have insurance on it at the time. So we get to the. To the place where I'm doing it, and I'm wearing the Lulu, you know, khaki shorts or, like navy blue shorts, whatever. Like golf shorts. And I'm not gonna lie, they're. They're not, like, tight, but you know how they fit. You know, you can't have anything in your pocket without it having it. Oh. You know what I'm saying?

[Cooper]

So what'd you do with the ring?

[Reed]

Well, I'm an idiot, but get out the truck. And I'm like, snatch it. I don't know why I didn't take it out. So I put in my pocket. Dude, when I tell you it is sticking, it's the most obvious thing. So I get out my truck and I stick my hand in my pocket like this. I never walk like that. Just trying to. Trying to Hide it like I'm gripping. She said, what are you doing? I said, nothing. Let's just go over here. And, like, the photographer's already there. And that's when she figured out. She started crying and open. Opened the box upside down. So I got down on my knee. I say, I'm fisting to open it, because you couldn't tell. So I opened it up. It was upside down. Luckily, it didn't fall out. Said a couple words. Dude, I. I didn't know what to say.

[Cooper]

I was like, oh, you have to say this. Will you marry me?

[Reed]

Well, sometimes there's a lot more to go into it if you want to be better than I am, because I was freaking out.

[Cooper]

Well, the most important thing is, will you marry me?

[Reed]

Well, yeah. I said, I love you. Will you marry me?

[Cooper]

I mean, what. What were you doing on, like, during the draft in your year?

[Reed]

I was at home, man. I was at home. And I guess I knew, or kind of knew that I wasn't probably going to get drafted. I wanted to get drafted, but it's just one of those things that sometimes it don't work out in your way, but, like, the opportunity just to be on a team. Like, I'm obviously undrafted and. And just, you know, the Eagles gave me an opportunity, and it's how you view it. You know, obviously, you got drafted, but, like, I've always wanted to get drafted. Always wanted to go on a high, you know, a high round. Everybody, every kid, that. Whatever. But, you know, sometimes it don't work out like that, which is fine. Like, there's plenty of guys with these kind of stories that, you know, it's that underdog mentality, and you just.

[Cooper]

It's all about how you look at it. You can either be mad that you.

[Reed]

Yeah. It's like.

[Cooper]

Or you can just come in.

[Reed]

Yeah. And I'm not saying I didn't have a chip on my shoulder like I did.

[Cooper]

Oh, yeah.

[Reed]

But you got to put that ego stuff to the side a little bit in that situation and just whatever. Yeah. Coming in work, you know, and, you know, had a lot of great guys in the room at the Time and how it is now, too. Like a welcoming type locker room.

[Cooper]

Yeah, that's how. I mean, like, when I got drafted, I had like, a big party in my hometown. Everything. But. Which was pretty cool. But the, like the first. First night of the draft when I was. I was kind of expecting to get drafted the first night, and it didn't happen. I mean, it was. It was a little disappointing, but I mean, it's all about how you look at it. I mean, I feel like I woke up the next day and was just excited. Obviously a little disappointed the first night, but I just. Then I realized, like, someone's gonna pick me up and I'm gonna have an opportunity to. To go play football somewhere, which is. Which is awesome. And I was. I was able to. To celebrate with my family and a lot of close friends, right. Who were from my hometown and from other places as well, who. Who came to my draft party, which was. Which was awesome. That's. That's the fun part about living in a small town and.

[Reed]

Yeah.

[Cooper]

Make a lot of good relationships. Everybody knows everybody, you know, everybody knows everybody. Make good relationships. Right. You know, a lot of people who have impact on your life, and a lot of those people were there.

[Reed]

That's big time, dude. That's.

[Cooper]

That's cool.

[Reed]

Yeah, that's cool. I know there's a lot of guys too, like, that get drafted and you know, you see the. The videos that are blessed to be able to be around all this. These group of people to. To celebrate with. But you know, the serious stuff aside, like, didn't you get prank called?

[Cooper]

I did get called.

[Reed]

I bet you were so mad. Were you. Were you mad?

[Cooper]

I was a little disappointed. I got like, swear to God, I got like 30 different prank calls from all over the place. They were from most of them. A lot of them were from the east coast, like Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida. They're from all over the place. But I was the first one I got. I was so. They had like, NFL had like, cameras set up in my. At this little barn dominium type thing. I was. I was at. They had camera set up. I get a phone call and these people were good. They. They say they're.

[Reed]

They sounded just like them.

[Cooper]

They. The Green Bay packers are on the clock and oh, my God, they say this is so. And so from the Green Bay Packers. And I start walking over to sit in my seat in front of the camera.

[Reed]

They flip the cameras on, like, is it.

[Cooper]

Yeah, they flip the lights on.

[Reed]

Is it your local, like, news channels?

[Cooper]

Like the NFL?

[Reed]

Oh, wow. So they see I don't know anything about this.

[Cooper]

They flip the lights on, I'm sitting down, and then I figure out it's a prank on. I turn and look. I was like, nevermind, it's a prank. Oh, man. And then sitting there through the rest of the day, first round, getting all the prank calls was really upsetting. And then come the second day, I was still getting prank calls, so I ended up not even answering the Eagles call when I.

[Reed]

It's crazy.

[Cooper]

When I got drafted, they had to call my agent, and luckily my. My agent was there.

[Reed]

Like, how did you feel? Like, when your name or when they called you, they wanted you.

[Cooper]

I didn't even know what to. What to think. I didn't even know what to say.

[Reed]

Yeah, Yeah.

[Cooper]

I was saying thank you. Thank you, thank you. Yeah. Dang. It was. It was a pretty cool moment, though, being able to talk on the phone and, you know, watch. Watch your name get called on.

[Reed]

And BG Getting to call my name, which is.

That was. That was tough. I forgot about that. That's a little. That's a little cool.

Calling my name was. Was awesome. Speaking of prank calls, there was, like. I think there was a lot. I feel like there was a lot of guys who got prank called this year. I've heard of a lot of guys.
