It was a rumor going around that the Celtics were trying to get rid of Jaylen Brown, which I don't know why, but the the Sixers trade for Jaylen Brown. They trade Paul George two first round picks and two second round picks. People are saying the Philadelphia 76ers just fleeced the Boston Celtics is the word on the street.

But my bet is he's going to go back to Cleveland.

So he's got. I'm kind of leaning towards go back to cast. What is he going to really play on the bet minimum? Like, I feel like you made so much money in your Career though. And if you're still playing at a high level or you're still playing when you're, how old is he?

40, 41. Yeah. Like you've all, you've made all, now you're just playing for fun and like if you, yeah. Get a paycheck, you get a paycheck

like that, you know, and his, his career's winding down. I, I, I mean, this could be his last year in, in the NBA and obviously it'd be nice to go out with a bang. So I mean, he might sacrifice, you know, the money to play on a, a good, you know, championship contending team.

And we got the Futures Game on Sunday also, while the young stars play Monday, obviously the Home Run Derby. I think I feel like the Home Run Derby is the best part of All Star Weekend in baseball.

So other teams had different pins and so you would trade your pin for their pen and then put it on your. Your towel and like, I had. Golly. I don't even know where it is now. It's probably back home with my parents, but just decorated with all this stuff. It was fun. It was fun then. And then it just got like, bro,

yeah, there was nothing better than just ripping it up to a tournament somewhere and just playing ball with the boys. Playing a weekend, honestly, long tournament with the guys. Some. A lot of it was random kids that you just met. You guys were messing around at the hotel, swimming in the pool. Playing the pool.

The pool. Hotels. The pool or the pool at the hotels. That. That was fun. I do remember.

[Cooper DeJean]

What position did you play?

[Reed Blankenship]

I played. I played short. I played short second and center. I played center field later on in my career. But starting out, it was. I was shortstop the whole time, dude. I had. I struggled getting it to first. Like, not struggled. Not like power wise. Sometimes it'll be sporadic. Like I wanted to kind of like, you know, short arm it. Like, you know, put a little whatever to it. Yeah. But like, I think my coach didn't like that. I don't think my coach like that

[Cooper DeJean]

cheater play too much, bro.

[Reed Blankenship]

Yeah, you wanted to. To do the little one hop, bare hand, whatever. And I don't know, I just feel like it kind of made me think about throwing the ball too much, you know?

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah.

Ever getting that? You ever get that way?

[Cooper DeJean]

No, the yips. Only on the golf course. I. But when I was playing in travel ball, I played center fear center field most of the time.

[Reed Blankenship]

Yeah.

[Cooper DeJean]

But in like little League, back in my school, I played shortstop and pitcher and I pitched and travel.

[Reed Blankenship]

I did pitch, but also when I pitched one time, dude, I hit every single kid in the lineup and I got threatened to be thrown out of the game. I was like 10 years old and he thought I was doing it on purpose. I'm like, no, I just can't control it.

[Cooper DeJean]

You think you roll it out Today and get a hit off MLB pitcher.

[Reed Blankenship]

Oh, dude, I don't. That's one of the. That's one of the hardest things I feel like. I mean, I haven't seen. I haven't seen a ball go like 95 or 100. I haven't been in the batter's box with that happen. I don't think.

[Cooper DeJean]

No.

[Reed Blankenship]

Not even like a batting cage? I haven't done that.

[Cooper DeJean]

I think slow pitch softballs for me, though. I love sloping softball.

[Reed Blankenship]

That's fun. Just. I just. I. Dude, I got hit in the face when I was little and lost my tooth.

Yeah, it was slow softball.

I know, but, like, when. I know, but, like, you got to feel it. Yeah, I just had to. I just had to, you know, take some grounders a couple times. I'll be fine.

Is it? I don't know if it's easier than the World cup right now.

But another thing that's exciting us is this question was brought up on a recent podcast from Kelsey, and is it easier to become an at least elite soccer player or an elite football player? It's hard for me to even answer that question. I've never played soccer, but I know it takes coordination.

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah, I played soccer as a kid, and all I did was just kick the ball as far as I could and run, like, pass everybody and score. So, like, I never had, like, soccer. Soccer skills.

[Reed Blankenship]

It's just.

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah, it's.

[Reed Blankenship]

It's hard to me to find out, like, the strategy of it, because, you know, there's. In football, there's the physical part. There's also the mental part of you got to know the down and distance. You got to know how much times left on the clock. Certain situations, obviously that's like that in soccer. But what I. And I'm new to soccer and what I found out the other day was, you know, when people, when they get hurt or whatever, the amount of time they stay on the ground is added on, you know, to. At the end of time, at the end. So I'm like.

[Cooper DeJean]

I'm thinking, even at halftime, though, too.

[Reed Blankenship]

Like the first half, I'm thinking, but

then they go back to 45 minutes.

[Reed Blankenship]

But do they do that. Do they do that for, like, a strategy? You know, like, you run a concert,

[Cooper DeJean]

it's just so, you know, some full Amount of minutes.

[Reed Blankenship]

No, I'm talking about, like, the players, like, when they.

[Cooper DeJean]

Oh, yeah.

[Reed Blankenship]

Get hurt or they sometimes flop. I feel like they flop. I feel like a lot of people flopping the soccer and football.

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah.

[Reed Blankenship]

Like, I wonder if they do that to get that. I don't know. I don't know.

[Cooper DeJean]

But if you watch a soccer game, though, I think it's. I think it's a game of, like, triangles. So, like, the players, like, form triangles and, like, they kick it to each other that way, and then obviously, you take off at some point and go try and score. But, like, if you look at the way they pass the ball when they're going up the field, it's like everybody's in a triangle. I'm pretty sure.

I think.

I don't know, but I could be completely wrong.

If you're a soccer fan, don't judge me. I'm just. Please let us know what I'm seeing on the field. They look like they're in triangles, like, kicking it back and forth, you know, making it easier to pass to each other. And then once you get down to the. To the box, seems like they try to get it to the side so they can come in from an angle, and they get a bunch of guys in the middle right in front of the goal.

But it's the way they, like, kick it in, but it's the way they, like, turn. I feel like they curve the ball like you do. Like a golf ball.

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah. It's insane.

[Reed Blankenship]

You know what I'm saying? Like, you can. You can hook it, you can whatever. But, like, they. They really got some spin on it, you know, and you got to control it down the field. I think it'll be hard for me not to use my hands, too.

Yeah. Well, yeah.

You know what I'm saying? Football player after being a football player, obviously. But, like, it takes a lot of coordination, man. So I don't.

Jason Kelsey said soccer was harder on Landon Donovan and Tim Howard's podcast earlier a couple weeks ago last week. But I think. I think he's right. Like, you have to play in order to play soccer at a high level. I feel like you have to play, like, since you were a kid, like, baseball, right, just to get the foot coordination down and, like, the feel for the game and things like that.

And you got. You got guys in football that haven't played a legit snap from, like, a different country, and then they come here, and sometimes, I mean, they make a huge impact, you know, for a team. And, yeah, I Don't know, dude. I, I, I'm gonna have to agree with him. Soccer might be a little bit harder, I think.

I think if an NFL player, I think if an NFL player were to go play soccer right now, professionally, I think it would have to be a, like a kicker. Just because the, with that, with that.

Yeah. Well, usually, dude. Okay. It spent. Obviously. I was in there.

They got the soccer body type, kind of.

Yeah, well, Jake, Jake and them, they and Braden on them. They used to kick the soccer ball around all the time.

And, like, have really good control.

If you look at the picture that she showed the dad in jail, the guy that is holding his son's hand has a watch. And it's the same watch throughout the whole series or whole whatever season that Hayden's wearing. But he was playing dumb, obviously.

And they even had. They even had people on the inside of the jail. Like in the beginning of the season, people on the inside of the jail. Like, once Burroughs was figuring it out, like, getting closer and closer. They tried to take him out into the jail and then the warden. Burroughs went to the warden and the warden was like one of the only people to believe him that his son was still alive. So the warden ends up helping him get out. And that was one of my favorite episodes. Him on the run.

And then it turns out the warden son was on the Boston mob guy.

Say reading Elsa's mine and Elsa's one year anniversary. Elsa and Oz, one year anniversary. A lot of things happening in that year for sure. But I mean, it's one of the best things. I think me and you had two totally different celebrations this weekend or like what you did. So obviously, I mean, you see a picture of Coop, of how he's dressed. He's so patriotic, stone cold Steve Austin style.

Do we really need to go for a dinner? And she's like, nah, let's. Let's just stay in the hotel and order room service. So we legit go up there around 2 o'. Clock. We order in, she gets hurt, like whatever she wants. She get like Asian fusion. I got one of my favorite burger joint places, Jack Brown's and. And we ate it. We ordered room service for fruit and chilled. We were in bed by seven.

Yeah. So in the off season I, I go to Arizona and I have a trainer down there who I train with. She's great. Train with the other guys in the NFL. And then obviously in the off season you travel a lot. So I'll go home.

Depending on who you are.

Yeah, I mean I travel a lot.

Yeah. But I'll go home to my gym at home and she'll like. I'll still get workouts on my phone sent through there so I can do them at home or wherever. Wherever I'm at on the road, they can be modified.

Yeah.

Biggest thing is staying in shape. And you can always. You don't need weights or equipment to run.

[Reed Blankenship]

So that is true. Yeah, I'm in. When I'm in Tennessee, I go to Nashville to train. Same kind of probably set up other guys around the team or different teams. They'll come. But yeah, I think the biggest thing too is getting in shape. Like you can't try and get in shape during training camp. Especially this time and all this time in the off season. If you wait too late, you're going to end up injuring yourself and possibly wasting the crucial weeks leading up to the season to get in football shape.
