Cooper DeJean
People are saying the Philadelphia 76ers just fleeced the Boston Celtics. The Sixers trade for Jaylen Brown.
Reed Blankenship
This little outfit you got going on,
Cooper DeJean
man, whoever bronze goes, I go.
Reed Blankenship
It was kind of juicy, man.
Cooper DeJean
Welcome back to Exciting Mics Connected with xfinity. I'm Cooper DeJean.
Reed Blankenship

Reed Blankenship
Yeah, some Philly stuff go down man.
Cooper DeJean
And Boston trades happening. So as we all know, the Patriots traded for our guy AJ Brown for a first round pick and a fifth round pick and then just last week I think so the Sixers made a big move. It was a rumor going around that the Celtics were trying to get rid of Jaylen Brown, which I don't know why, but the the Sixers trade for Jaylen Brown. They trade Paul George two first round picks and two second round picks. People are saying the Philadelphia 76ers just fleeced the Boston Celtics is the word on the street.
Reed Blankenship
What do you think about that?
Cooper DeJean
I mean, I agree.
Reed Blankenship
I mean, business is business. I know, but like.
Cooper DeJean
Yes, but look at the way the first round picks are, like spread out. Like obviously next year, next year we'll have a first round pick. Then the year after we won't. Then the next two years after that we'll have a first round pick and like we already got our core, you know, players right in. In Philly we got Tyrese Maxi, VJ Edgecomb, Jaylen Brown, embiid. Probably need to find a backup big
NAACP Supporter
man
Cooper DeJean
and another starter, but Jalen Brown to Philly. Like it podcast sometime and we could talk ball. He's like a big. He's a big streamer. I see clips of his. His streams,
Caller/Listener
so.
Reed Blankenship
Oh yeah, didn't he say something? He's gotta get used to it or something. Used to Philly or something. What was it?
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, he said something like that. But Philly. Oh, welcome, man. Let's welcome him in. Philly will welcome in it. Oh my God. I can't talk. Philly will welcome him in with open arms, I'm sure. I know I will watch some ball.
Reed Blankenship
And other news, though. In other NBA news, LeBron James.
Cooper DeJean
LeBron leaving the.
Reed Blankenship
Leaving the Lakers, bro. Where do you think he's going to go?
Cooper DeJean
Where's LeBron James gonna go? Whoever bronze goes, I go.
Reed Blankenship
There's talks of Warriors, Cavs, obviously Sixers, but I don't think Sixers. He's never.
Cooper DeJean
I don't think he is either. I don't think he's coming to the Sixers either. But that would be absolutely sick if he came to the Sixers. I'd be.
Reed Blankenship
Think he'll go back to the Cavs. You think you go back to the Cavs?
Cooper DeJean
So I'm in. I'm currently in Cleveland, Ohio right now, training with one of my coaches. And word on the street is LeBron's been seen around Cleveland today. Actually, he's walking around a golf galaxy. Big golf guy now. LeBron, if you ever want to play golf with me, just let me know. I'll be there, wherever, whenever. Let me know. I'll come play golf. But my bet is he's going to go back to Cleveland.
Reed Blankenship
So he's got. I'm kind of leaning towards go back to cast. What is he going to really play on the bet minimum? Like, I feel like you made so much money in your Career though. And if you're still playing at a high level or you're still playing when you're, how old is he?
Cooper DeJean
42?
Reed Blankenship
40, 41. Yeah. Like you've all, you've made all, now you're just playing for fun and like if you, yeah. Get a paycheck, you get a paycheck
Cooper DeJean
like that, you know, and his, his career's winding down. I, I, I mean, this could be his last year in, in the NBA and obviously it'd be nice to go out with a bang. So I mean, he might sacrifice, you know, the money to play on a, a good, you know, championship contending team.
Reed Blankenship
But I think he'd go back to Cavs, though.
Cooper DeJean
I think he does. Also my prediction. In other news coming up next week, well, this week, towards the end of this weekend and then rolling into the next week, the MLB All Star Game is coming to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Reed Blankenship
You gonna go? I, oh, you're not gonna be there, are you?
Cooper DeJean
I'm not gonna be there.
Reed Blankenship
Who knows?
Cooper DeJean
I actually, I could possibly be at the Home Run Derby on Monday. I think I'm gonna try and make the Home Run Derby on Monday,
Reed Blankenship
but
Cooper DeJean
our boy Devontae Smith is playing with Jimmy Rollins, former Philadelphia Philly, on Sunday in a 3 on 3 MLB X event. Not really sure what that is, but that's cool.
Reed Blankenship
I guess they're trying to make like mlb, the show, the Game into real life. Yeah, you know, that's sick.
Cooper DeJean
And we got the Futures Game on Sunday also, while the young stars play Monday, obviously the Home Run Derby. I think I feel like the Home Run Derby is the best part of All Star Weekend in baseball.
Reed Blankenship
At least when we, when we went and hit that one time, it kind of put in perspective. Like I haven't swung a bat in a long time, but I, I mean,
Cooper DeJean
I'm on to it. I don't know.
Reed Blankenship
I forgot. No way. You remember yours?
Cooper DeJean
I hit two.
Reed Blankenship
I don't think I hit one.
Cooper DeJean
No, you didn't. If, if you go to the Philly Stadium, I hit one to left center off the Surfside sign in the top
Caller/Listener
of
Cooper DeJean
like on the concourse.
Reed Blankenship
You did not make it. You did not make it up there.
Cooper DeJean
It's right, like right below the concourse. There's a Surfside sign, like right on the top of the first row stands.
Reed Blankenship
Did you play? But did you play? You obviously played back in the day, right?
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, I played.
Reed Blankenship
Did you play like All Star or travel or just like county ball?
Cooper DeJean
I played, I played school ball and then I played travel ball a lot When I was young.
Reed Blankenship
Did that burn you out? Did that burn you?
Cooper DeJean
I think it did. I played.
Reed Blankenship
That killed me, man.
Cooper DeJean
So much baseball.
Reed Blankenship
It was like every weekend as a kid.
Cooper DeJean
I loved it.
Reed Blankenship
It was fun. Did you have the little pins? Did you trade pins with. With other, like, teams? Did y' all not do that? So, like our.
Cooper DeJean
I didn't do that.
Reed Blankenship
Like all star league. We had these like, rally towels and we had our own, like, custom pin. Like, you know, like you put like a shirt or something.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, yeah.
Reed Blankenship
So other teams had different pins and so you would trade your pin for their pen and then put it on your. Your towel and like, I had. Golly. I don't even know where it is now. It's probably back home with my parents, but just decorated with all this stuff. It was fun. It was fun then. And then it just got like, bro,
Cooper DeJean
yeah, there was nothing better than just ripping it up to a tournament somewhere and just playing ball with the boys. Playing a weekend, honestly, long tournament with the guys. Some. A lot of it was random kids that you just met. You guys were messing around at the hotel, swimming in the pool. Playing the pool.
Reed Blankenship
The pool. Hotels. The pool or the pool at the hotels. That. That was fun. I do remember.
Cooper DeJean
What position did you play?
Reed Blankenship
I played. I played short. I played short second and center. I played center field later on in my career. But starting out, it was. I was shortstop the whole time, dude. I had. I struggled getting it to first. Like, not struggled. Not like power wise. Sometimes it'll be sporadic. Like I wanted to kind of like, you know, short arm it. Like, you know, put a little whatever to it. Yeah. But like, I think my coach didn't like that. I don't think my coach like that
Cooper DeJean
cheater play too much, bro.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, you wanted to. To do the little one hop, bare hand, whatever. And I don't know, I just feel like it kind of made me think about throwing the ball too much, you know?
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
Ever getting that? You ever get that way?
Cooper DeJean
No, the yips. Only on the golf course. I. But when I was playing in travel ball, I played center fear center field most of the time.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
But in like little League, back in my school, I played shortstop and pitcher and I pitched and travel.
Reed Blankenship
I did pitch, but also when I pitched one time, dude, I hit every single kid in the lineup and I got threatened to be thrown out of the game. I was like 10 years old and he thought I was doing it on purpose. I'm like, no, I just can't control it.
Cooper DeJean
You think you roll it out Today and get a hit off MLB pitcher.
Reed Blankenship
Oh, dude, I don't. That's one of the. That's one of the hardest things I feel like. I mean, I haven't seen. I haven't seen a ball go like 95 or 100. I haven't been in the batter's box with that happen. I don't think.
Cooper DeJean
No.
Reed Blankenship
Not even like a batting cage? I haven't done that.
Cooper DeJean
I think slow pitch softballs for me, though. I love sloping softball.
Reed Blankenship
That's fun. Just. I just. I. Dude, I got hit in the face when I was little and lost my tooth.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, it was slow softball.
Reed Blankenship
I know, but, like, when. I know, but, like, you got to feel it. Yeah, I just had to. I just had to, you know, take some grounders a couple times. I'll be fine.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, you'll be fine, bro. It's easy to pick up.
Reed Blankenship
Is it? I don't know if it's easier than the World cup right now.
Cooper DeJean
I think. I think sloping softball, like. Like catching it in the air just because it's a bigger ball, maybe.
Caller/Listener
I don't know.
Cooper DeJean
Anyways, I don't know.
Reed Blankenship
But another thing that's exciting us is this question was brought up on a recent podcast from Kelsey, and is it easier to become an at least elite soccer player or an elite football player? It's hard for me to even answer that question. I've never played soccer, but I know it takes coordination.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, I played soccer as a kid, and all I did was just kick the ball as far as I could and run, like, pass everybody and score. So, like, I never had, like, soccer. Soccer skills.
Reed Blankenship
It's just.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, it's.
Reed Blankenship
It's hard to me to find out, like, the strategy of it, because, you know, there's. In football, there's the physical part. There's also the mental part of you got to know the down and distance. You got to know how much times left on the clock. Certain situations, obviously that's like that in soccer. But what I. And I'm new to soccer and what I found out the other day was, you know, when people, when they get hurt or whatever, the amount of time they stay on the ground is added on, you know, to. At the end of time, at the end. So I'm like.
Cooper DeJean
I'm thinking, even at halftime, though, too.
Reed Blankenship
Like the first half, I'm thinking, but
Cooper DeJean
then they go back to 45 minutes.
Reed Blankenship
But do they do that. Do they do that for, like, a strategy? You know, like, you run a concert,
Cooper DeJean
it's just so, you know, some full Amount of minutes.
Reed Blankenship
No, I'm talking about, like, the players, like, when they.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, yeah.
Reed Blankenship
Get hurt or they sometimes flop. I feel like they flop. I feel like a lot of people flopping the soccer and football.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
Like, I wonder if they do that to get that. I don't know. I don't know.
Cooper DeJean
But if you watch a soccer game, though, I think it's. I think it's a game of, like, triangles. So, like, the players, like, form triangles and, like, they kick it to each other that way, and then obviously, you take off at some point and go try and score. But, like, if you look at the way they pass the ball when they're going up the field, it's like everybody's in a triangle. I'm pretty sure.
Reed Blankenship
Okay.
Cooper DeJean
I think.
Reed Blankenship
I don't know, but I could be completely wrong.
Cooper DeJean
If you're a soccer fan, don't judge me. I'm just. Please let us know what I'm seeing on the field. They look like they're in triangles, like, kicking it back and forth, you know, making it easier to pass to each other. And then once you get down to the. To the box, seems like they try to get it to the side so they can come in from an angle, and they get a bunch of guys in the middle right in front of the goal.
Reed Blankenship
But it's the way they, like, kick it in, but it's the way they, like, turn. I feel like they curve the ball like you do. Like a golf ball.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. It's insane.
Reed Blankenship
You know what I'm saying? Like, you can. You can hook it, you can whatever. But, like, they. They really got some spin on it, you know, and you got to control it down the field. I think it'll be hard for me not to use my hands, too.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. Well, yeah.
Reed Blankenship
You know what I'm saying? Football player after being a football player, obviously. But, like, it takes a lot of coordination, man. So I don't.
Cooper DeJean
Jason Kelsey said soccer was harder on Landon Donovan and Tim Howard's podcast earlier a couple weeks ago last week. But I think. I think he's right. Like, you have to play in order to play soccer at a high level. I feel like you have to play, like, since you were a kid, like, baseball, right, just to get the foot coordination down and, like, the feel for the game and things like that.
Caller/Listener
But.
Reed Blankenship
And you got. You got guys in football that haven't played a legit snap from, like, a different country, and then they come here, and sometimes, I mean, they make a huge impact, you know, for a team. And, yeah, I Don't know, dude. I, I, I'm gonna have to agree with him. Soccer might be a little bit harder, I think.
Cooper DeJean
I think if an NFL player, I think if an NFL player were to go play soccer right now, professionally, I think it would have to be a, like a kicker. Just because the, with that, with that.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. Well, usually, dude. Okay. It spent. Obviously. I was in there.
Cooper DeJean
They got the soccer body type, kind of.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, well, Jake, Jake and them, they and Braden on them. They used to kick the soccer ball around all the time.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, yeah.
Reed Blankenship
And, like, have really good control.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Reed Blankenship
Like. And you have to have that type. Well, I say that body type. I feel like soccer players aren't that tall. Right, bro? Except for Holland. Holland, Whatever.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, yeah.
Reed Blankenship
He's a, he's a Viking, man, for sure.
Cooper DeJean
That dude's like, he's like 6 5, bro.
Reed Blankenship
Is he really?
Cooper DeJean
I think he's 65.
Reed Blankenship
I didn't know he was 6 5.
Cooper DeJean
Holland from Norway. Is he 6 5? Can we get some help? I think he is 6 5. That dude's a giant.
Reed Blankenship
But am I, am I wrong for saying the average height for a soccer player is what it would be? Would it be six foot or below? I mean, that's pretty, I mean, that's what it is. NFL sometimes. So he is 6 5. That's absurd.
Cooper DeJean
And apparently Harry Kane from England just watched him play last night. By the way, Baller, he scored, scored one of their penalty kicks. He said when he retires, he wants to go to the NFL and be a kicker.
Reed Blankenship
Really?
Cooper DeJean
I don't know how long you play soccer. Like, what's the.
Reed Blankenship
Because, oh, well, Messi's What? Messi's what, 40 something? I think Messi's 40, but Ronaldo's, I
Cooper DeJean
think Ronaldo's up there, though.
Caller/Listener
I don't know.
Reed Blankenship
Both of them were kind of. I thought Messi was, I thought Messi was, was 40,
Cooper DeJean
but the average age is 34 to 36 at retirement. Oh, at retirement.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Okay.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. I mean, that's not really average in the league, but.
Cooper DeJean
No, it's not.
Reed Blankenship
But they're, I guess, like, they're a kicker.
Cooper DeJean
Like, they're not putting as much on their body in soccer. So maybe going to the NFL be a little easier of a transition from soccer. But what do you think's harder to win the super bowl or the World Cup? Man, I think this is, I'm easy answer. Because the World cup, you play it. Yeah, you play the World Cup. Wait, Harder. You think it's harder, right?
Reed Blankenship
Yes. Harder to win. Yes.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. Because you play the World cup every four years, right?
Reed Blankenship
It's every four years and you have some. How is it. Is it 64 round or round of 64? Round of 32.
Cooper DeJean
So it's. It's pool play. Or they have like, I don't know what the you call them, but it's essentially pool play. You know what pool play is, where everybody plays each other and then. Yeah, qualifying pool play. You have to qualify first and then you get into pool play, which is you play each team in your pool once and the top two teams go to the tournament. But in some of the pools, they take the top three teams, if I'm not mistaken, to the knockout rounds and then it starts in the round of 32, I believe, and then. And then goes around to 16 and then. Like the quarterfinals, I think.
Reed Blankenship
Quarterfinals?
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, yeah. Quarter, semis and then finals. And it's all in the US this year, bro. It's kind of sick.
Reed Blankenship
That's what I'm saying. That's also another thing is we have, you know, this influx of people, fans from all over. And like I've been noticing they'll gather around like the Walmarts or like Bass Pro shops and think it's the coolest thing ever. And we know it's just like every. The Walmart's just like every day for us. But like, I've seen people going to Bass Pro and just like are amazed that we have the selection of things that you see there or read finished.
Cooper DeJean
I will find you finally. And now we can talk about it.
Reed Blankenship
Yes. So spoilers will be said. So if you don't want to watch this part, whatever.
Cooper DeJean
What's his name? What's the dude?
Reed Blankenship
The dude? No, his name is Hayden. The guy that ended up taking him, took Hayden. He fell in love with the redhead girl. Like I forgot when he. They took each other to the. Or the redheaded girl and bite him out to the fourth of July thing. But he fell in love with her and wanted her to have their kid. That's the whole like, they want to
Cooper DeJean
just like run off in the sun.
Reed Blankenship
So he donated his. His thing, his stuff to that. To that bank that his family owned. Yes, but it was. And his sister that went.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, it was the sister. And his mom was helping him the whole time. She was like. She was putting her people on people, like telling them to kill people who knew about the whole situation or were getting close to finding out. And all of a sudden they'd end up like that.
Reed Blankenship
Like, how do you. That ain't gonna work. But like, you. If you. If you go back and you watch when I keep forgetting her name, the redhead reclaims.
Cooper DeJean
He predicted the ending.
Reed Blankenship
If you look at the picture that she showed the dad in jail, the guy that is holding his son's hand has a watch. And it's the same watch throughout the whole series or whole whatever season that Hayden's wearing. But he was playing dumb, obviously.
Cooper DeJean
And they even had. They even had people on the inside of the jail. Like in the beginning of the season, people on the inside of the jail. Like, once Burroughs was figuring it out, like, getting closer and closer. They tried to take him out into the jail and then the warden. Burroughs went to the warden and the warden was like one of the only people to believe him that his son was still alive. So the warden ends up helping him get out. And that was one of my favorite episodes. Him on the run.
Reed Blankenship
Oh, on the. But the thing is, everybody, the warden's son was on.
Cooper DeJean
And then it turns out the warden son was on the Boston mob guy.
Reed Blankenship
His name was Nikki. I think it was Nikki. Something was on this. The mob boss's side. And like, he gets to the. To the place, like on the plane and I guess in the keys, and it's just like, what has her or who has them?
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, because he thought. He thought the mob dude had her or had his son the whole time. And then. But then the cop who was the warden's son kind of flipped back.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Like, got back on Burrow's side when like, he threatened to kill his dad.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, it was. It was kind of juicy, man.
Cooper DeJean
It was insane.
Reed Blankenship
I liked it.
Cooper DeJean
We kind of just bounced all over
Reed Blankenship
the whole season, but all over the whole season.
Cooper DeJean
It's an insane show.
Reed Blankenship
So if you insane showed, you haven't watched, you gotta watch it.
Cooper DeJean
We're giving I will find you free promo even though it probably doesn't need it.
Reed Blankenship
But I'll say one more thing about a show to watch. It's called Silo. I know there's a bunch of books about it, but a new season just came out this past Friday and let me tell you, it's really good. So if you haven't another watch. It's called. It's on Apple tv. It's called Silo. Give a little bit. It's kind of slow, but.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, I don't know if I can do that.
Reed Blankenship
You gotta.
Cooper DeJean
I need something to come on right off the bat.
Reed Blankenship
No, but Silo is yalls next watch. If you haven't looked into.
Cooper DeJean
Or Nemesis. Nemesis.
Caller/Listener
Good movie.
Reed Blankenship
Or Nemesis Koopsman about Nemesis, but.
Cooper DeJean
All right, Reed, it's time to talk about what is exciting us and what is going on in our lives right now. So.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Was there a special day that happened over the weekend besides America's 250th birthday?
Reed Blankenship
So you had America's 250th Anna, or birthday on July 4th. And then you had the birthday of the Blankenship family, AKA reading Elsa's mine and Elsa. Say reading Elsa's mine and Elsa's one year anniversary. Elsa and Oz, one year anniversary. A lot of things happening in that year for sure. But I mean, it's one of the best things. I think me and you had two totally different celebrations this weekend or like what you did. So obviously, I mean, you see a picture of Coop, of how he's dressed. He's so patriotic, stone cold Steve Austin style.
Cooper DeJean
We gotta. We gotta clip in the video of me. There's.
Reed Blankenship
There's a video here. Yeah, but what, you know what me and else did?
Cooper DeJean
What'd you guys do?
Reed Blankenship
And it. And it explains us perfectly.
Cooper DeJean
So you went to downtown National. Guys, he drank. Okay, listen, listen, bro, listen.
Reed Blankenship
So we had a dinner reserved.
Cooper DeJean
I had.
Reed Blankenship
I had a dinner reserved for. And obviously stayed with. Stay with. I think we stayed in the Hermit Hermitage Hotel in Nashville. Actually a great hotel, by the way. It's got some stories to it.
Cooper DeJean
But did you get the suite?
Reed Blankenship
I got a. I got the room facing the Capitol building. So. Yes. So this is what we did the week before. The week before. I looked at her, I'm like, hey, do you. Do you. Do we really need to go for a dinner? And she's like, nah, let's. Let's just stay in the hotel and order room service. So we legit go up there around 2 o'. Clock. We order in, she gets hurt, like whatever she wants. She get like Asian fusion. I got one of my favorite burger joint places, Jack Brown's and. And we ate it. We ordered room service for fruit and chilled. We were in bed by seven.
Cooper DeJean
Wow.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
What else do you guys do? Do you guys do anything else?
Reed Blankenship
We went to one speakeasy place and then left. Like we spent like an hour there and then just left. We were like, oh, let's go.
Cooper DeJean
Did you drink some burback?
Reed Blankenship
No.
Cooper DeJean
No Champagne? Nothing?
Reed Blankenship
They had champagne for us.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, and they knew. They already knew.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, like we, I think.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, you told them?
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, yeah, it was our anniversary.
Cooper DeJean
But that was nice.
Reed Blankenship
And look, man, we just wanted to sleep. So we got sleep for our anniversary.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, I mean you got the kid and now so that you need to still see.
Reed Blankenship
She's. She's your niece, bro.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. Plan a surprise trip to come see my niece. Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
Surprise my eyes. Anyways, so let's.
Cooper DeJean
What did I do this weekend?
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, that's what I say. What did you. This little outfit?
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. Fourth of July weekend. I was on the lake up in Michigan.
Caller/Listener
Really?
Cooper DeJean
Devil's Lake up in Michigan with some great people. Had a great time. Was fishing for the first time as an adult. Abby's dad actually taught me how to fish. Got me really taught me how to fish and real. Some man. I'll send you guys some pictures so
Reed Blankenship
we can you actually catch you actually some fish?
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, just some small bass. You know, I caught about. I probably caught eight or nine total in the whole weekend.
Reed Blankenship
Nice.
Cooper DeJean
So yeah, I did that. Went up to the lake, rode on the boat a little bit, watch some fireworks, play some pickleball.
Reed Blankenship
You just had a fun field weekend, didn't you?
Cooper DeJean
Enjoyed our country and celebrated our country. The greatest country in the whole world. And that is America. This is America.
Reed Blankenship
And I'll be able to see you this weekend.
Cooper DeJean
Yes, me and again in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Well, kind of. We'll be there outside of it. Yeah, yeah, we'll be there Friday and Saturday, Correct?
Reed Blankenship
Yep.
Cooper DeJean
Me and Reed. Friday we'll be in Bear, Delaware at our kids camp there. And then Saturday, I don't know where it's at.
Reed Blankenship
Saturday I think it's it Fort Washington.
Cooper DeJean
Fort Washington, Pennsylvania for another kids camp. So it'll be fun. Very exciting.
Reed Blankenship
I wonder, I wonder how many people is going to show up, bro, I don't.
Cooper DeJean
I think there's gonna be a lot.
Reed Blankenship
I do too. Especially if you had. How many?
NAACP Supporter
Two days.
Reed Blankenship
How many people you had? 700.
Cooper DeJean
One.
Reed Blankenship
Dude, there's got to be.
Cooper DeJean
So that was only one camp in Iowa, so. But there's two camps for us in Philly, so there must be a lot.
Reed Blankenship
It's gonna be turn but it'll be
Cooper DeJean
a be a fun filled day competing.
Reed Blankenship
Might have to get a workout in, man.
Cooper DeJean
Me and you.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, let's do it.
Cooper DeJean
I'm down. You can get that work in.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
But then Reed decided to leave me. So Sunday and Monday I will be having two more camps. One in Scranton, one in Harrisburg.
Reed Blankenship
Name that show of Vic Fangio.
Cooper DeJean
Scranton, Penn. Pretty sure that's Vic Fangio's hometown.
Reed Blankenship
Okay, but what other thing is.
Cooper DeJean
I don't know.
Reed Blankenship
Scranton.
Caller/Listener
Ah,
Reed Blankenship
the office man.
Cooper DeJean
And scream.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, I'm low key. Jim, you're Dwight.
Cooper DeJean
Dwight.
Reed Blankenship
Dwight. Dwight. My fault or Oscar?
Cooper DeJean
I don't know that you don't know.
Reed Blankenship
No, you're Toby. You're Toby. You're Toby. You're the hr.
Cooper DeJean
Okay, bro, whatever you say. Yeah, I keep in order.
Reed Blankenship
Welcome back to exciting mics connected with Xfinity Coupe. You know what time it is? Time to make some exciting picks. We're going to put each other on the clock and draft our top five of whatever category we want or if y' all want to see a category, just let us know. I mean, give us ideas. But we're going to go off our categories.
Cooper DeJean
You know, today we're going to do best stadiums.
Reed Blankenship
Oh, could be football now that we. That we have physically played in.
Cooper DeJean
Okay, we'll do that.
Reed Blankenship
That we physically played in. Perfect. Because you've already played Deal. Your second year. So perfect. Let's do it.
Cooper DeJean
All right. NFL or college? We'll just do NFL. How about that?
Reed Blankenship
You do NFL.
Cooper DeJean
Because we'd probably have one of the same if we both put through college too. Kenning Stadium shout out.
Reed Blankenship
No, Michigan.
Cooper DeJean
Michigan is in Kinnick city.
Reed Blankenship
What do you expect? Anyways, Go ahead, Coop. You're the youngest.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, wait, did I go first last time? Who went first last time? I went first last time, so.
Reed Blankenship
Oh, you did.
Cooper DeJean
Let me give you the first round pick, big boy.
Caller/Listener
Oh,
Cooper DeJean
wait, hold on. Are we just doing NFL?
Reed Blankenship
Yes, we'll just do NFL.
NAACP Supporter
All right.
Cooper DeJean
NFL.
Reed Blankenship
I'm gonna say Lambo.
Cooper DeJean
What?
Reed Blankenship
Dude, okay, I've first off, I've always want to play in Lambo.
Cooper DeJean
Okay, bro, Are we excluding our home?
Reed Blankenship
Exclude excluding our own. Our home fields.
Cooper DeJean
All right. Excluding Lincoln Financial field. My number one is Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Viking Stadium. It's great.
Reed Blankenship
You didn't like Lambo?
Cooper DeJean
I just hated the field, bro. The field sucked. I hated the field. Minneapolis. I liked how the like the whole side of the stadium like can flip open.
Reed Blankenship
Like indoor. It's kind of chilly. It was kind of chilly at first.
Cooper DeJean
And I love their turf as much as I hate turf. I love their turf. Cool locker room, cool atmosphere. To my next favorite stadium, I'll go Sofi so far stadium.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Pretty cool. Can't pick that one. Sorry.
Reed Blankenship
I know that was tough.
Cooper DeJean
Sofi stadium
Reed Blankenship
so far's it going? You know where you haven't played yet? Seattle. Seattle's cool. Seattle's pretty cool.
Caller/Listener
Really?
Reed Blankenship
Dude, it gets loud in there. Yeah, Seattle.
Cooper DeJean
Seattle's got.
Reed Blankenship
Seattle's our second pick.
Cooper DeJean
So far is always like a Home game for the. The Eagles fans. So that's, that's why I love playing there.
Caller/Listener
And.
Cooper DeJean
And it's indoors kind of. It's a cool like setup. Cool architecture.
Reed Blankenship
Okay. Exclude the team att.
Cooper DeJean
I have a. I kind of have a love hate relationship just because I'm big on like, I like watching the replays. When things happen in the game. You literally cannot see any replay.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
In the stadium. And when you're. Even when you're on the sideline, like you literally have to go like that and look back and up. But I guess, I don't know, I guess it's sitting in the top deck. So you.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Watching tv.
Reed Blankenship
Maybe the atmosphere of it. But I don't know.
Cooper DeJean
I think when you're playing for the teams that we're playing for or that. That we played for, that we were both playing together, like. Yeah. Adds, you know, adds to it a little bit. But my number three stadium is going to be the Saints stadium. I forget what it's called or Superdome. Superdome. The Superdome. I just love the atmosphere and like when you walk in loud, it's loud and like the fans are like on top. You damn near. It feels like so. And some great memories for the both of us that from that stadium.
Reed Blankenship
Great memories. Your turn.
Cooper DeJean
We both won our first super bowl there.
Reed Blankenship
Yep.
Cooper DeJean
Super shoot number four. I think I will put the chief stadium in there. The Chiefs stadium. Arrowhead. Yes, Arrowhead. Very old school stadium, but great atmosphere. Fans usually get pretty loud in there.
Reed Blankenship
So I feel like the fans are like right there too. Like right there.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. Fans are like right on top of you. Yeah. It was awesome.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. Mine's kind of like this is obviously their older stadium, but Buffalo, that. The atmosphere too there. I wish it was snow. I wish it was snowing. We were playing them. I mean, I feel like it was. I mean it was raining.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
Get that. But Buffalo was cool. Buffalo was really cool. Atmosphere wise.
Cooper DeJean
It was really cool. It's got an interesting setup. Like it's not really.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
It doesn't seem that big. And it's like dark around the field. Kind of like there's not that many lights on. But it was a cool atmosphere.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. Oh, I got one more. I say Baltimore.
Cooper DeJean
I forgot about Baltimore.
Reed Blankenship
I'll say Baltimore.
Cooper DeJean
As hot as it is in Tampa. I do like their stadium. We'll go with Raymond James Stadium.
Reed Blankenship
That's our. Our picks, our draft picks. But make sure y' all go hours. Make sure you go over to exciting mics on Social and tap the Link in our bio to fill out your own drafts and let's get some feedback. You know, let's.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, come on, give us some feedback.
Reed Blankenship
A little feedback, you know, give us some freaking feedback. For our next segment of the podcast that everybody also likes is the Cooper Sharp Player of the Week.
Cooper DeJean
Our Cooper Sharp Player of the Week is Folarin baligan of the US men's national team. He is obviously one of the US's best strikers, goal scorers, players on the team. And he got a red card, which when you get a red card in the World cup, it means you have to sit out the rest of that game and the next game.
Reed Blankenship
But that red car was stupid, dude.
Cooper DeJean
It was stupid. FIFA has decided to suspend his red card for one year, which allows him to play tonight against Belgium. He's back in the lineup. So thank you.
Reed Blankenship
Maybe we maybe get some country roads play after the night.
Cooper DeJean
I would love that. I would love that.
Reed Blankenship
That's so hard.
Cooper DeJean
Thank you FIFA. Thank you usa for helping out.
Reed Blankenship
Seriously. Do you think so? Do you think like fines and stuff like that could be overturned or like, like a big. I would. There's some. I feel like there's some penalties. You can't really. But when we get fined, sometimes we have the ability to get them overturned. Yes, but like
Cooper DeJean
I have actually got one overturned last year.
Reed Blankenship
I did too. Somebody got me on a hip drop tackle and it wasn't even that. I was nowhere even near it.
Cooper DeJean
So when I made that tackle in Tampa and stepped over the dude.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
It wasn't on purpose. The fine got rescinded, so shouldn't have been a flag, but they threw it anyway.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. Oh, no.
Cooper DeJean
Well, we could find. If we talk about the rest on there. We love the refs.
Reed Blankenship
I'm not saying it.
Cooper DeJean
The refs are awesome. Refs are a crucial part in the game. So love the refs. That is our Cooper Sharp Player of the Week, Falern Baligan. Looking forward to watching him tonight hopefully score a couple goals for the US against Belgium. When you're building your own game day lineup, make sure it's Cooper Sharp. Visit CooperCheese.com to learn more for next week. Give us your nominations for our Cooper Sharp Player of the Week. This could be a professional flare. Reed Blankenship
Welcome back. Here we go, Coop. Time to get fired up.
Cooper DeJean
Let's get fired up. Let's stretch that. Let's warm up. I'm ready for some heavy hitters this week.
Reed Blankenship
I know.
Cooper DeJean
With our Get Dialed in, I know
Reed Blankenship
we got some messages queued up. Let's let them rip. This is Get Dialed in connected with Xfinity.
Cooper DeJean
Let's go.
Caller/Listener
Here we go. Yo, cool, bro. I'm gonna give it a be. You gotta tell all these other teams in the league, stop messing around. Stop acting like you a young boy. You really like that, bro? It really get like that in the field. You really my man. And then. And then you read, bro. You my man, too, bro. I'm sorry you had to go, bro. Ah, but I'm. I ain't going, cap. I mess with Houston, too, so. So I hope it's good luck there, bro. I hope you do good there, bro. I'm still be watching.
Reed Blankenship
I appreciate you, my man.
Caller/Listener
So let's lock in. But re. Co coup. Especially, let's lock in the season, bro. Let's go to the. Let's go to the bull again, bro.
Reed Blankenship
Hey, you can still tell me to lock in and, like, we locked in, bro. I appreciate that, though, bro.
Cooper DeJean
This is my favorite segment.
Reed Blankenship
I think I know.
Cooper DeJean
Hype me up to these guys. Hype me up.
Caller/Listener
Hi.
Cooper DeJean
Hype me up. Hi.
Caller/Listener
Hi. Hi.
Cooper DeJean
Hype me up. Hey, guys.
Caller Aaliyah
I'm a huge Eagle fan. I'm a huge fan of the podcast. I have two questions, and they're both for each of you. Reid, my question for you is, how is being a dad? And what's your favorite thing so far about your daughter? And, Coop, for you, I actually have a friend that thinks you're really cute, but that's beside the point. We're not. That's not the question. The question for you, Coop, is what are you most excited about being either a safety or a cornerback? Oh, I forgot to say my name, but my name is Aaliyah, and I'm from New York, and I am an Eagles fan. And I. My boyfriend actually hates the fact that I'm an Eagles fan, even though I live in New York. But go Birds. Dickheads.
Cooper DeJean
Dickhead.
Reed Blankenship
So I'll answer first. Aaliyah. That's a great question. So the best part about that would be she's at the stage now that she's, like, cooing and, like, tracing you, like, smiling at you. So we're. We're hitting a bunch of milestones. We're, like, seeing her, like, actually lock eyes with you and smile. Dude, that is the best things, like. Yeah, that's My girl. She knows who daddy is.
NAACP Supporter
My girl.
Reed Blankenship
Sexual.
Cooper DeJean
What was my question?
Reed Blankenship
Are you playing safety or corner or
Cooper DeJean
more excited to play safety? Yeah, I don't think I really have an answer to that. I both have their pros and cons, but I'm looking forward to the challenge of playing safety. I haven't chat. I haven't, I haven't played safety in since high school. So it'll be, it'll be fun to, you know, kind of pick that up again and see how it goes. But looking forward to it. It'll be fun.
Caller/Listener
Big coupe, big read.
It's your boy Big Colin out of Harrisburg. I just phone it in to Harrisburg what your guys workout routine looks like in the off season and then during season coupe. I know you got that sweet home gym back in Iowa. Reed, I want to know what that
Cooper DeJean
setup is in Texas. All right.
Caller/Listener
Go Birds.
Reed Blankenship
Swarm Texans. Hey.
Caller/Listener
I guess I don't know what you'll say down there.
Reed Blankenship
Yep, you got it. Swarm. Swarm.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. So in the off season I, I go to Arizona and I have a trainer down there who I train with. She's great. Train with the other guys in the NFL. And then obviously in the off season you travel a lot. So I'll go home.
Reed Blankenship
Depending on who you are.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, I mean I travel a lot.
NAACP Supporter
Just.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. But I'll go home to my gym at home and she'll like. I'll still get workouts on my phone sent through there so I can do them at home or wherever. Wherever I'm at on the road, they can be modified.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Biggest thing is staying in shape. And you can always. You don't need weights or equipment to run.
Reed Blankenship
So that is true. Yeah, I'm in. When I'm in Tennessee, I go to Nashville to train. Same kind of probably set up other guys around the team or different teams. They'll come. But yeah, I think the biggest thing too is getting in shape. Like you can't try and get in shape during training camp. Especially this time and all this time in the off season. If you wait too late, you're going to end up injuring yourself and possibly wasting the crucial weeks leading up to the season to get in football shape.
Cooper DeJean
So most definitely. Good question though. Yeah.
Caller/Listener
Hey, this is Owen from Ida Grove, Iowa. I am dialed in on my off season rewatch. Reed, I remember watching your first interception against Aaron Rodgers and Coop, I was crying during your first interception of Patrick Mahomes. Who are you guys dialed in to getting an interception off of sometime in your career? Go Birds.
Reed Blankenship
Oh, sometime My career.
Cooper DeJean
Fun fact. I went to high school with Owen.
Reed Blankenship
Really?
Cooper DeJean
Back in. Back in Ida Grove. Odie Bolt.
Reed Blankenship
Shout out. Owen, man.
Cooper DeJean
Went to middle school and high school together and we played basketball together. He was a Hooper.
Caller/Listener
Nice.
Cooper DeJean
Big Eagles fan, though. Shout out. But what was the question? Oh, if I wanted to pick off anybody in my career, I mean, it's probably. I mean, one of the best. Matt Stafford. I feel like that would be cool just because he's a legend and he's really good and he's a hard guy to turn over. So that would be pretty much.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. I'm have to be right there with you. I would say. Jay. Yeah. Jay.
Caller/Listener
Hers.
Reed Blankenship
Nah, Jo, we cut that out. No, definitely. Definitely Stafford, though. Like, he. He's definitely one of them ones though. For sure.
Caller/Listener
For sure.
Cooper DeJean
One of them lines.
Reed Blankenship
Paso.
Caller/Listener
Hey, Texans fan here. Reed.
Reed Blankenship
So happy to have you.
Caller/Listener
Psych. Go Birds. Cool you to go.
Cooper DeJean
We running that back.
Caller/Listener
Let's go.
Reed Blankenship
That's funny, man.
Cooper DeJean
That was sick.
Reed Blankenship
That was sick.
Cooper DeJean
That's probably one of my favorite ones.
Caller/Listener
So.
Hey, Coop. Hey. Reed was Bruce. And I gotta say, man, I think they undervalued you, Reed. I think we should have kept you. But that said. Go Birds. And check it out. Here's the task for the week. Who's going to have a better game when you go head to head and what's the bet going to be? What's the loser going to have to do to praise the winner? Is he going to have to wear the opposing king's jersey? What kind of bet are you two going to lay on that game? And if the loser have to do publicly, I would love to know.
Reed Blankenship
Sound like,
Caller/Listener
whoa,
Reed Blankenship
What did he just say at the end?
Caller/Listener
Go Birds.
Cooper DeJean
You big.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. Okay. So I thought.
Cooper DeJean
I think. Who's gonna have.
Reed Blankenship
Dude, I even think about game. I. I don't even think about.
Cooper DeJean
Hopefully we both play well, obviously, but yeah, we're gonna have to come up with some sort of bet.
Reed Blankenship
I didn't even think about that. I ain't wearing that. I ain't wearing a jersey, though.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, we probably can't. Yeah, we'll come up.
Reed Blankenship
Oh, you gotta wear. I'm the other one.
Cooper DeJean
Cooper is Cooper.
Reed Blankenship
Say we're gonna get a shirt that says I'm the other one. You gotta. No, you gotta wear the shirt that says I'm the other one.
Caller/Listener
If you.
Reed Blankenship
If either one.
Caller/Listener
We should.
Cooper DeJean
We should just wear those shirts that week. That'd be sick.
Reed Blankenship
What? I'm the other one.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, that'd be sweet.
Reed Blankenship
We'll figure something out, but we'll, we'll
Cooper DeJean
figure out a bet though, something to put on. If you guys have any suggestions, let us know. We're all about fan suggestions over here, so just let us know.
Caller Janae
Hey, Coop. Hey, Reed. My name is Janae. I am a true Blue Eagle fan and I'm a 27 year US army retired veteran.
Reed Blankenship
I want thank you for your service.
Caller Janae
Thank you both. Thank you. Thank you for last season and I thank you for continuing your podcast. Reed, you're going to have to talk to your fans, get them on, because camaraderie is everything sports does. As you guys said, this episode, it brings us together. And there's nothing better than seeing two players that were once teammates now on opposing teams doing just that, keeping us together. So, Reed, get in there. Get your fans to start checking into Exciting mics so we can go back and forth. And trust me, Eagles fans will play. Mike, you were once a Bird.
Caller/Listener
Go Bird. Dickhead.
Caller Janae
Be well. God blessed.
Reed Blankenship
Thank you for your service.
Cooper DeJean
Off. Thank you for your service. We appreciate that. But that is true. We got to get the Texan fans.
Reed Blankenship
You know, hey, I'm telling you, it's where it's the building blocks. We're building a foundation right now would be fine. If you want to help us get dialed in, call 347-491-3774 and your message could be featured on a future episode of Exciting Mics Connected with Xfinity.
