Cooper DeJean
Did you see that video?
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Reacting to opening our rings for the first time.
Reed Blankenship
Dude, was that like too much? Did we do too much? Because that was me. That was my only. That's like my honest reaction.
Cooper DeJean
I was actually surprised at how big and sick this ring is, bro.
Reed Blankenship
And it flies.
Cooper DeJean
Like, seeing this definitely makes you want to, you know, go chase another one.
Reed Blankenship
Get another one. Put three of them things on there.
Cooper DeJean
Three of them. Dang. Welcome back to Exciting Mics, presented by Vanda pharmaceuticals. I'm Cooper DeJean.
Reed Blankenship
And I'm Reed Blankenship. And thank you for joining another episode of the Exciting Mites. Coop, I. How's it feel to be back, baby?
Cooper DeJean
Feels great, man. Yeah, Feels great. I'm happy to be back. Football's right around the corner and we got. We got a little something special to talk about today. Some hardware on the finger.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. And I got two of them. You can figure out which one's more important.
Cooper DeJean
Obviously the bigger one.
Reed Blankenship
Don't know about that, but stay tuned for more of that. So as always, like, comment, subscribe and watch on YouTube or wherever you get your podcast. So let's get it started.
Cooper DeJean
Let's do it. We're going to start off this episode with how we do every week with what's exciting us this week. Read what's exciting this.
Reed Blankenship
Only one thing, man. Training camp.
Cooper DeJean
Back to ball.
Reed Blankenship
Baby is back.
Cooper DeJean
Back to ball.
Reed Blankenship
About that.
Cooper DeJean
I'm excited. I'm excited. It's good to. Good to be back out here, see some of the guys at the ring ceremony and then, oh, yeah, you know, get back to work here on.
Reed Blankenship
Dude, I couldn't even. I couldn't even focus on the honeymoon.
Cooper DeJean
You locked in.
Reed Blankenship
I had a pit in my stomach. I'm like, conditioning test, training camp, conditioning says.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, conditioning test. That's. That's the first thing to check. Yeah. I don't know if that's exciting, but if you.
Reed Blankenship
If you ran it right now, you think it'd pass.
Cooper DeJean
100.
Reed Blankenship
Oh, good deal.
Cooper DeJean
100.
Reed Blankenship
Not me. I need some sleep, guys.
Cooper DeJean
Stay ready. Stay hilarious. You're hilarious.
Reed Blankenship
Dumb as.
Cooper DeJean
No, it's gonna be good. It's gonna be good. To see the guys again, though, and get back out on the field and play some ball, Talk some ball.
Reed Blankenship
I mean, we've already been back, what, a couple days?
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. But so we've gotten to hang out a little bit.
Reed Blankenship
Got to hang out with. You're an idiot. Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Let's do a little summer recap.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Mr. Blankenship, you went to the shore, right? Yeah. You didn't go to Kelsey's event. You were busy. You had other priorities. But it was my first time at the Ocean Drive for Jason Kelsey's annual bartending event, which was a blast. It was insane, brother. So many people.
Reed Blankenship
What about that one?
Cooper DeJean
Everywhere?
Reed Blankenship
That one video or picture that went viral of you screaming.
Cooper DeJean
Everybody was like, someone was playing with my hair in that video. Some random person. It was.
Reed Blankenship
Oh, that's the weirdest, dude. You like that, though?
Cooper DeJean
I was. I was just spraying. I was spraying whipped cream all over everybody because they do the jello shots and you put whipped cream on top. So I was just spraying whipped cream all over everybody to keep them away from me. Me and Sydney Brown. Yeah, we. We auctioned off our shirts at the did so bartending event. So people bid on us to take our shirts off, bro. It was kind of.
Reed Blankenship
How much?
Cooper DeJean
I think it was like, it was like two grand or 2500 to. For us to take our shoe. Our shirts off. Anything for Eagles Autism foundation, you know what I'm saying?
Reed Blankenship
So was that through the event, or is that just Yalls doing?
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, that was. That was at the event.
Reed Blankenship
That was part of the event.
Cooper DeJean
I wasn't part of it, but we just made it a thing because we were just trying to raise money.
Reed Blankenship
Somebody offered twenty five hundred dollars.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
To take your shirt off.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. They got to keep the shirt. And we signed it. Dude.
Reed Blankenship
What?
Cooper DeJean
Yes.
Reed Blankenship
That's insane.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, it was insane. How was. How was your summer? How was the wedding?
Reed Blankenship
Dude, it was great. Yeah, but, like, the two weeks before. And she can back me up on this too. Dude, you talking about button heads of, like, the little things. The little stuff. But when we got to the welcome party, which was the Friday, it was the day before. And then, like, obviously, like, I hope this goes right. Hope this goes right. Weather was perfect.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, yeah. Weather was perfect.
Reed Blankenship
And you get to the ceremony, I'm like, oh, this. And obviously, I have no idea. I have no idea what anything looks like. I'm seeing everything from the first time. So I'm. Whatever you saw first is probably what I saw.
Cooper DeJean
To talk about your. Your walkout song.
Reed Blankenship
Sick, right?
Cooper DeJean
It Was sick. I kind of wish it lasted longer, though.
Reed Blankenship
That was. I. Too fast.
Cooper DeJean
You walked a little fast down the aisle, but I think you were just too excited to. To get married.
Reed Blankenship
Well, I didn't know how that was going to be because that was one. That was one of my only requests. And I requested it way early on when they were planning. And I'm like, please let me walk down to an imperial march on a string quartet. And they're like. And she also know not doing that.
Cooper DeJean
What's that from? That's from Star wars, right?
Reed Blankenship
Star Wars. What Darth Vader walks out to.
Cooper DeJean
It was sick, sick, sick. I wish it lasted longer, but it was sick, dude.
Reed Blankenship
And everybody clapped for me. Like I did something. It was like an icebreaker, bro. You needed that. You needed. Because everybody's just so tense. And then, of course, it's like the classical music on the string quartet. Boom. All of a sudden.
Cooper DeJean
It was a good little switch up.
Reed Blankenship
You needed it.
Cooper DeJean
What made you want to do that, though, dude?
Reed Blankenship
I don't know. Recently I've been just so into the Star wars stuff now. So I don't know, because I went to Disney World. I did the whole lightsaber building lightsaber experience like a kid. I think I was like. I don't know. Was I the only. No, there was some older people in there. But, dude, what was this?
Cooper DeJean
This was before the wedding.
Reed Blankenship
This was before the wedding. I wanted. I wanted to bring my lightsaber down the. Down the aisle. She wasn't going for that.
Cooper DeJean
You should have. Bro. That would have been.
Reed Blankenship
Bro, you know what? I was thinking about this. Not to get too long on this, but I was thinking about this. If before she walks out or actually when she's standing up there, somebody hands me my lightsaber and somebody in the crowd jumps out with another lightsaber to.
Cooper DeJean
Get that, and we fight, bro, that.
Reed Blankenship
And then I'll go in and I get the rings and I bring them through it. That would have been hard.
Cooper DeJean
That would have. If I would have got out and fought you with. With my lightsaber.
Reed Blankenship
We should have done it. If I could go back, we would have.
Cooper DeJean
Then we went to. Then we went downtown Nashville after Morgan Wallens.
Reed Blankenship
That was a Tom, bro.
Cooper DeJean
It was a great time.
Reed Blankenship
A Tom.
Cooper DeJean
That was a great time. It was awesome. Yeah, we had a blast.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, you're.
Cooper DeJean
We had a blast. And then you went to Puerto Rico the next day.
Reed Blankenship
Not the next day. It was a buffer day. I was down bad.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, you needed a buffer day, huh?
Reed Blankenship
Dude, I she had family at her house. And I was just like, I can't do this right now.
Cooper DeJean
How was Puerto Rico, though?
Reed Blankenship
It was great, dude. If I could, I. That was one spot I would really recommend because that's the first time I've ever been to Puerto Rico, first off. Second, like, we get down there, dude, and we're, like, treated like royalty. Like, they come up should be. Thank you. They come up, they said, Mr. And Mrs. Blinkenship, what do you need? Like, dude, everything that we needed, they had.
Cooper DeJean
Would you say it?
Reed Blankenship
The Ritz Carlton reserve. And, dude, then we had a spa day. Oh, three hour spa day.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, my.
Reed Blankenship
Dude. Rub mud on each other.
Cooper DeJean
What?
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Rub mud on each other.
Reed Blankenship
No clothes, bro.
Cooper DeJean
That's insane.
Reed Blankenship
They. They. We built. We got our own scrubs. We rub. Rub mud on each other.
Cooper DeJean
What. What does that do?
Reed Blankenship
Because I guess in Puerto Rico, it's just like some type of mud that's just.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. We're keeping this in too, by the way.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, please do. Please do. Everybody wants to talk about my honeymoon. And we just got competitive. And it's like, you're not really getting mud where it needs to get. So I'm like, what do you mean? Like, we're competing. Like, I wanted it all over.
Cooper DeJean
So it's like, good for your skin or something.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. All over your face.
Cooper DeJean
Wow.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. Then we go sit in the steam room and just look at each other in a pile of mud.
Cooper DeJean
What?
Reed Blankenship
Bro? It's sick, though.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, I bet it.
Reed Blankenship
No, it is. And then we get a massage for an hour and a half. And I fell asleep. I snored, but very relaxed. I knew that.
Cooper DeJean
Do you have, like, a pool in your room? Like, do you have your own private pool?
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. So, like, right outside, we had our own pool.
Cooper DeJean
Sick.
Reed Blankenship
And then we're 20, 20 or 40 yards from, like, the sand from the beach. It is sick.
Cooper DeJean
Sounds like a good time.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, I mean, we had a blast. I mean, we're there for seven days, I think. What'd you do?
Cooper DeJean
I went home and I was the grand marshal in my parade. My hometown, like, parade. It's called creek days. This is before the wedding, but yeah, that was something cool that I did.
Reed Blankenship
Was it like, do you walk?
Cooper DeJean
Nah, I rode around in my truck.
Reed Blankenship
Your truck?
Cooper DeJean
A big old trip. My dad drove my truck, and I just stood in the back and I threw candy to all the kids out Align the streets.
Reed Blankenship
Was it a big showing?
Cooper DeJean
Big crowd? I mean, it's a. It's a pretty small town. So the parade was like, 20 minutes long. Wasn't like a Super bowl champion. And then we freaking put in a bags tournament after that.
Reed Blankenship
The what tournament?
Cooper DeJean
Bags. You probably call it cornhole.
Reed Blankenship
Oh, yeah. I don't know why you call it bags.
Cooper DeJean
We call it bags, but you win. No, we got second, bro.

Cooper DeJean
Details.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, it worked.
Cooper DeJean
Let me try. I'm gonna try bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant. Oh, yeah.
Reed Blankenship
551 cows sliced ribeye with red peppers and green peppers on a long roll. Dude, it's sick.
Cooper DeJean

Reed Blankenship
Welcome back to the exciting Mike's presented by Benda Pharmaceuticals. So let's talk about the elephant in the room. The ring ceremony, man. I mean, what was your first. Do you even have an idea?
Cooper DeJean
I had no idea of what it looked like. I knew it was gonna be big.
Reed Blankenship
I was hoping it was going to be fat. Like, I had a dream that it took two fingers.
Cooper DeJean
This is. This is fatter than I thought it was.
Reed Blankenship
Fat.
Cooper DeJean
Going to be.
Reed Blankenship
Ph 80. Fat.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
A couple teas in there, too.
Reed Blankenship
No, but, like, the way they had it set up, that was sick. Now you're sitting there, you're eating, and I didn't say they drug it out. They didn't drag it out. It was like you're waiting on that moment to win. It's time. And it was. They, they had it set up in a flower. Flower box. Right.
Cooper DeJean
We had no idea until right in front of us. Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
And Larry's up there, he's talking about, he said you can also make it fly. You're like, what? And then you got this button you mash and the wings pop out. And when he said that and I looked at it and I did it. That was one of the hardest moments I feel like at that time.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. I've never seen a ring that could fly.
Reed Blankenship
No. And like what it says in it, like on the wing.
Cooper DeJean
Oh yeah. I didn't, I didn't even see that.
Reed Blankenship
Until I saw the poster thing.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. But can be great without the greatness of others.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
No, but it was a, it was a crazy, crazy night.
Reed Blankenship
You don't have anything like this, do you? No, I don't think. Even if. Well, I guess the national championship. But still.
Cooper DeJean
No, this has got to be way bigger than the national championship ring.
Reed Blankenship
I have obviously never been to a national championship, so. Not even close.
Cooper DeJean
Also looking at the, the details of.
Reed Blankenship
It all and like how they break it down like broke it down into. Because the five, the five diamonds, bro.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. I didn't.
Reed Blankenship
You're part of that, bro.
Cooper DeJean
That was sick.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, you're part of that.
Cooper DeJean
Five diamonds is the, on the back is like the five.
Reed Blankenship
The scores.
Cooper DeJean
Five. Yeah. Touchdowns in the.
Reed Blankenship
Five touchdowns, whatever.
Cooper DeJean
Or five people who scored in the super bowl.
Reed Blankenship
And like each diamond, dude, there's just so many.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. The diamonds mean something. Then on the inside it's got our playoff. Whole playoff run.
Reed Blankenship
The green jewels is the 18 wins.
Cooper DeJean
Oh yeah, that's it. And then our signature on the bottom too.
Reed Blankenship
They bought out on this though. I don't think I've ever seen a championship ring like this. I, I, I mean other than the ones that come apart.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
But I don't.
Cooper DeJean
No, no.
Reed Blankenship
I think I'd much rather have this.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. This one's one of a kind because.
Reed Blankenship
You can actually like wear it.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. Cuz you're never going to take the.
Reed Blankenship
Top off a ring.
Cooper DeJean
You're just gonna.
Reed Blankenship
If you're just going to showcase it.
Cooper DeJean
Anyway, you can push the wings in and out. That's pretty sick.
Reed Blankenship
Did you like get to catch up with anybody that was there? That's unfortunately not on the team anymore.
Cooper DeJean
The DBs that were there, Slayer CD was there.
Reed Blankenship
Vonte. Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Getting to talk to them again was, was sweet. And the other guys who, who had left, getting to see them and just celebrate it.
Reed Blankenship
I think I Had this discussion before, but, like, when. We always say when. It's when it hits you. When is it? When. I think this hit me.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, yeah.
Reed Blankenship
I think it finally hit me. And they had a highlight tape kind of throughout the year. And watching that highlight tape made me want to go back even more.
Cooper DeJean
They played a, like a long highlight tape of like, every. From every single game from the season. And it was. Dude, got the juices flowing.
Reed Blankenship
It made me want to go. Go back and get back. I think it's actually better we had it now.
Cooper DeJean
It might have been. Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
It's kind of a good way to start. Start off the season and get your mind right for it.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
So I was very motivated.
Cooper DeJean
You think. You think you'll ever wear it, like, out in public?
Reed Blankenship
Maybe a couple times. I mean, this thing's so.
Cooper DeJean
Bro, it's. It's hard to, like, wear around though, because it's so big and, like, you.
Reed Blankenship
Got to pick and choose what events you wear them at. Like.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, like Wazer freaking hand down.
Reed Blankenship
And like, I don't want. I don't know, who knows? You probably see me wearing it all the time.
Cooper DeJean
But I was thinking about sleeping in it last night, but I didn't.
Reed Blankenship
You sleep on it.
Cooper DeJean
I know. I didn't want to ruin it, though.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
How about your outfit, though, last night? You look good in that blue, man. That Middle Tennessee blue.
Reed Blankenship
Thanks, bro. You did, too. You had a little inscription in yours.
Cooper DeJean
A little patch on, a couple patches on the inside, which was. I've always.
Reed Blankenship
I like wearing suits like that.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
Or dressing up for an event like that. Like that. Also like that kind of color. Because your color. My color, Nakobe was really. He looked really good. Because it's like that summer type, the bright colors. Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
I like that a lot.
Cooper DeJean
Shout out my guy Mitch, for hooking it up with the suit.
Reed Blankenship
Shout out my girl Alyssa, too.
Cooper DeJean
Did you see that video?
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Reacting to opening our rings, dude.
Reed Blankenship
Was that, like, too much? Did we do too much? Because that was me. That was my only. That's, like my honest reaction, dude.
Cooper DeJean
I was actually like.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
I was actually surprised at how big and sick this ring is, bro. And that it flies.
Reed Blankenship
And it flies. There's no. I don't know.
Cooper DeJean
No. But this, like, seeing this definitely makes you wanna, you know, go chase another one.
Reed Blankenship
Get another one. Put three of them things on there.
Cooper DeJean
Three of them things. Mr. Lurie just had a. Yeah. Mr. Larry had a good speech. Talking about, you know, just everybody in the organization, how it took everybody to. To get to that point.
Reed Blankenship
And there was so many people there.
Cooper DeJean
There was a lot of people. Literally the whole. The whole staff. Yeah, Staff, business side of it.
Reed Blankenship
Everybody.
Cooper DeJean
Both side.
Reed Blankenship
Everybody. But I mean, they had a big part in it too, so.
Cooper DeJean
The venue was sick.
Reed Blankenship
Venue was sick. You see the big eye sculpture?
Cooper DeJean
Oh, yeah. They had. They had like a Lombardi trophy. That was. It was literally like what, 10 foot tall?
Reed Blankenship
I think it was sitting on something.
Cooper DeJean
It looked pretty damn big, but it.
Reed Blankenship
Probably was like six foot. Six foot, eight foot, exaggerated. Who knows? But it's huge. It was huge.
Cooper DeJean
I wish I could get one of them in my place.
Reed Blankenship
An ice sculpture.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, Lombardi trophy. It's permanent, though.
Reed Blankenship
Then it wouldn't be ice culture.
Cooper DeJean
Make it look like an ice sculpture. And now we have a special segment. Welcome Elsa Blankenship to the show.
Reed Blankenship
To the pod. You look good, though. Are you nervous?
Cooper DeJean
All right, buddy. I don't know why.
Reed Blankenship
Relax. Yeah. So, you know, we get a ring for being special on the field, but really, who doesn't get the most? I say credit is people off the field and shout out to Corey for allowing us to do this. But they.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, shit.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. Sent us.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, my gosh.
Reed Blankenship
A ring for the people that have supported us off the field when we need it the most. So.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, my gosh.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. So shout out to Corey.
Cooper DeJean
Hey. Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
That's beautiful.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, you're welcome. Yeah, you like that? Oh, my God.
Cooper DeJean
You gotta love. Love matches the brace.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, absolutely.
Cooper DeJean
Diamonds. Dancing.
Reed Blankenship
Dancing. Look at that. I'm a nurse. Shout out to Corey.
Cooper DeJean
To Corey. Thanks. Ya. Yo. All right, so you know how I got a Super bowl ring? Last night we partner with Takori to. To get you a little gift for how you've supported me my whole life and always being there for me. So I think they sent you a box with. With a little gift if you could show this room. Yeah, pick one of those. Can you pick one of those out? Oh, you got it on. There we go. Love it. Of course. Of course. You're welcome. Breed. I walked into my garage yesterday and it felt like a sauna.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, this Philly heat, no joke.
Cooper DeJean
So I got like 10 bags of ice and made my own ice bath just to cool off.
Reed Blankenship
Coop, why didn't you just turn on your ac?
Cooper DeJean
Because I was trying to be energy efficient. You know, go green, go birds. Right.
Reed Blankenship
Or instead of icing yourself out, you could just check out Pico's energy saving rebates. They've got deals on energy star cooling equipment that actually work and can cut your bills.
Cooper DeJean
So no more ice?
Reed Blankenship
Nah, man. Unless it's the ice around your neck.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, that's what's up.
Reed Blankenship
Just head to pico.com waystosave they've got tips for everything. Heating, cooling, lighting, you name it.
Cooper DeJean
That's pico.comwaystosave welcome back to Exciting Mike's presented by Vanda Pharmaceuticals. Training camp is right around the corner.
Reed Blankenship
Right around it.
Cooper DeJean
Three days out from the filming of this podcast. But by the time you guys see it, we'll be in it.
Reed Blankenship
Be in it.
Cooper DeJean
Talking about in it. Are you excited, though? You excited to get back out there?
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, it's cool because you. I always flip a switch and it's just like. My wife knows. It's cool to say my wife, but my wife knows now. It's like when it's time, it's time.
Cooper DeJean
Back in that mode again.
Reed Blankenship
So gotta. Gotta chase that. That stuff we like, you know.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
That green stuff.
Cooper DeJean
But it's stuff we like.
Reed Blankenship
Really excited about it, though.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
This is year two for you now.
Cooper DeJean
Year two for me. My first training camp. Really though, because I was hurt last.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, you didn't.
Cooper DeJean
Last year, you didn't do practice coming in at all. No, I didn't practice till the end of training camp. No. But it'll be. It'll be fun to be back in the hotel, have those long days. I think we go from like 10am to practice starts at 10am yeah, practice starts at 10.
Reed Blankenship
I'll probably be in there by.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, yeah. Be in there early 7:38.
Reed Blankenship
You stay in the hotel? Yeah, you gotta stay in the hotel.
Cooper DeJean
Go from like, be in the building from like 8 to like 7 at night.
Reed Blankenship
But it's part of it. Like, it's. We've been doing this since.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
I mean, freshman year of college.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
But it's cool because you get to. You're with your. Like you're with your guys for that long during the days, the weeks. Like sometimes a grind.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, yeah, it's a grind.
Reed Blankenship
But like, everybody understands that you get closer in that time. Like, I'm. I. I really enjoy being able to do this because I like the guys. It goes back to what we've been.
Cooper DeJean
Talking about for the guys in our building.
Reed Blankenship
So if I. If I wasn't excited and that'd been. That'd be a problem. But rarely get this stuff going and so see what we got. I mean, I know what we got, but just, you know, a little new faces here and there and.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
See how they roll.
Cooper DeJean
New grind.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
It's a tough Mental battle when you just do the same thing it is every single day.
Reed Blankenship
You're sore, you know, you first, you.
Cooper DeJean
Put on your pads and in the heat.
Reed Blankenship
And the heat. And I always say it's. It's hard to get like, you. You can be in shape. Like, you can train, you can do this. But, like, when it's time to be in football shape, you. You actually got to put on the pads. You actually got to run. You got. You got to hit.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
You can't mimic that. No. In training, so that's always a challenge, but that's part of it. I mean.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. You gotta make sure you're eating right.
Reed Blankenship
Eating right. Make sure you eat liquid in general.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
I mean, because me, I'll lose probably every day. You gotta weigh in way out. And I'll lose six to seven pounds.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, yeah. Every single day. Especially when it's hot out, too.
Reed Blankenship
So I'd rather. I kind of want to show up a little bit on the heavier side of my weight limit rather than where I play at, because by. By the first game, I'm right where I want to be, you know? But. Yeah, that. I mean, once you lose that much weight, too, and it sucks. It sucks, man.
Cooper DeJean
Get to eat a lot of food, though. Hydrated to get your way back up.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. And then you got meetings after meetings, and.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, hopefully we get the. Hopefully you get the room stocked with snacks.
Reed Blankenship
I'll make sure that's a point of emphasis.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
For the rookies. Y' all did good last year.
Cooper DeJean
Tried. Tried to.
Reed Blankenship
Y' all did good. Y' all always had my Scooby snacks.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
And we'll get them right.
Cooper DeJean
We'll make sure they're. They're ready. Ready to roll. Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
It'll be good.
Cooper DeJean
You got any goals for. For training camp?
Reed Blankenship
Just be a little bit more vocal.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
Kind of be, you know, step up and be that leader on the back end. I mean, that. I'll say step up, but I feel like you've.
Cooper DeJean
You've kind of started to do that already, though.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
I mean, this ring.
Reed Blankenship
Just kind of just want to be myself, which I. I'm not. Like, I don't put you.
Cooper DeJean
You were like that last year, though.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, I was like that last year.
Cooper DeJean
And you just. It's more of an emphasis on you this year.
Reed Blankenship
I mean, you. You lose guys like slaying and cd, you know, the. The veteran guys, and now I'm mandatory. We're the vets, you know, and it's. It's crazy to think, but.
Cooper DeJean
And we got to be able to. To progress in. In our defense and.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
You know, be able to show new things, you know, for the teams that we play this year.
Reed Blankenship
Absolutely. But I feel like we. We started off on a real strong foot.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
And OTAs.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, yeah, no doubt. It's the second year in the defense, so we've kind of learned the ins and outs, and we're able to do, you know, a lot more. More things within. Within the defense and within the play calls. Yeah, that'll make it. I'm excited on us and more fun. Hopefully we can get some. Get some more turnovers.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. You know, and definitely going into the year, people always talk about, you know, the target on your back, whatever, but.
Cooper DeJean
We talk about. We talk about having the target on our back, but, you know, we're still. We're still the ones that are out there going to hunt, you know, I.
Reed Blankenship
Don'T think you lose that no matter what you do.
Cooper DeJean
No, never. And that's. That's what Coach Sirianni's talked about.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
You know, still. Still going out.
Reed Blankenship
You know, the games are only big because we're in it, you know.
Cooper DeJean
Exactly.
Reed Blankenship
Tough.
Cooper DeJean
It's all about us, man. It's about what we do. Yeah. Oh, the rookie talent show. Oh, rookie talent show.
Reed Blankenship
What, you sing?
Cooper DeJean
I sing Lose Yourself by Eminem.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. You did good.
Cooper DeJean
Not how I expected it. All right.
Reed Blankenship
I. I mean, well, the thing is, they don't have. They. They do it like you have the music. That's it. You don't have any lyrics. Like, you better know this song by heart. Yeah, that's how they did with me last year.
Cooper DeJean
I did it acapella.
Reed Blankenship
Oh, they didn't have the music.
Cooper DeJean
No. Yeah. Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
Puts it on very low, so you can't.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, but they didn't let me read the words. They let Q read the words right off the screen. He went first.
Reed Blankenship
What did Q. Just saying.
Cooper DeJean
I don't know, actually.
Reed Blankenship
Pretty good, though.
Cooper DeJean
You had to go twice because he. He didn't. He wasn't ready the first. First time. But I got booed off, too. I see. I didn't. I didn't know that I'd have to sing that much of a song. Yeah, like, I. I sang, like, the first few lines, and I thought it was gonna be good. And then I got to the part where I didn't know the words. And then you get booed.
Reed Blankenship
Stuff.
Cooper DeJean
I got booed off. Stuff thrown at me. But it's. It's part of it.
Reed Blankenship
It is. It's an initiation.
Cooper DeJean
I'm trying to think who's gonna have a good performance this year.
Reed Blankenship
Jihad.
Cooper DeJean
Jihad.
Reed Blankenship
I feel like people with, like, a really good personality will get up there and do it. Like jlix last year.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, Jaylix is good last year.
Reed Blankenship
Jlix was really good last year.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
But, like, I hope they. I really hope these dudes, like, understand, like, that's a highlight of training camp. Like, you can make people's day.
Cooper DeJean
I hate it.
Reed Blankenship
I hated it. You ain't got to do anything like that ever again, I don't think.
Cooper DeJean
I hope not, but I'm excited to see Drew's.
Reed Blankenship
Oh, you know what? He's one saying, dude, someone's.
Cooper DeJean
Someone has to tell them and, like, make sure they're prepared for when. When their name gets called.
Reed Blankenship
Well, they go in order.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, I know, but he'll just pop it up on the screen and. And no one will even know it's coming. And then they don't have a song and.
Reed Blankenship
And then you get booty more and then start off on the wrong foot.
Cooper DeJean
It's a good team bonding activity, though.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
I feel like. I feel like it brings. Brings the guys close, especially if you.
Reed Blankenship
Have a song that everybody can sing to.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. Then everybody starts clapping.
Reed Blankenship
Everybody starts clapping, singing. Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
It's just the little things.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
And then go from that. And then I bet you there'll be a lot of ping pong matches now.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, 100.
Reed Blankenship
That's a big thing.
Cooper DeJean
Still got to get.
Reed Blankenship
There will be ping pong balls all over the floor in our. In our team or game room.
Cooper DeJean
We got to get back in blood with Saquon.
Reed Blankenship
It's Saquon in Dallas.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, we got. I think kind of that was my fault a little bit and yours.
Cooper DeJean
No, that wasn't a team game. Team game.
Reed Blankenship
I appreciate that, man.
Cooper DeJean
Come on. Ping pong. Basketball. Got the basketball hoop in the.
Reed Blankenship
I wish we had. I wish we had a court. I know at least a half court work.
Cooper DeJean
That's. That's like, the best part, though. And during those little breaks, like, everybody.
Reed Blankenship
Gets up and shoots.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. You're shooting. Or like, even during the breaks in between meetings, like, you're. You're just chopping it up with the guys in the locker room because you got nowhere else to go.
Reed Blankenship
Nowhere else to go. Like, you're legit there for however many hours during the day, but you're there through the whole month.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. Training camp's, like, where the. The team is, like, warm together. I'm excited to see the rookies and how they do, yeah. During. During camp. They did a good job during OTAs, I think, picking it up, picking up the defense.
Reed Blankenship
I just want to know how they're going to be. Because the biggest thing, too, that you don't really think about is having fans there.
Cooper DeJean
Oh, yeah.
Reed Blankenship
When you have all the fans, like, each. Each time you have, it's like you're playing a game pretty much. You have eyes all on you and you got one on ones. You got this, like, just gotta be prepared. Like, you lose a rep, you gotta shake back fast.
Cooper DeJean
You know what. What's your message for Eagles fans for this upcoming season? You got a message if you're a coach. Coach Blankenship.
Reed Blankenship
Wow. Put me on the spot.
Cooper DeJean
You're giving a message to the city of Philadelphia.
Reed Blankenship
You know, stay humble, be humble and just keep that support strong. Like, I know y'.
Cooper DeJean
All.
Reed Blankenship
Y' all will. Obviously, it's a imperfect game, you know, and trust me, if. If we want to be as perfect as possible, that. But that. That doesn't happen. So just. Just keep hanging on and keep supporting us and, you know, obviously, we'll do the same to y', all, too, so.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, it's not gonna be perfect. Yeah, nothing's gonna be perfect. So tough to win, you know, however many games total in a row, and let's go without losing. So there's going to be some ups and downs as there is in. In every season, highs and lows, you.
Reed Blankenship
Know, but it's always steady as we go.
Cooper DeJean
It's always how you. How you respond to the adversity when it hits.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
And I think our team did a good job with that last year. And.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah, we just.
Cooper DeJean
We don't think that'll change.
Reed Blankenship
We don't need to start comparing either.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, that was.
Reed Blankenship
That was kind of a big thing.
Cooper DeJean
It's a whole new, new season, new team. Don't compare guys in different spots.
Reed Blankenship
We're a brand new team, and that's how we're looking at it, too.
Cooper DeJean
It's.
Reed Blankenship
It's a different year, new year, new team. And regardless of how many guys we still got on the offense or defense or special teams, like, still new faces.
Cooper DeJean
It'S always going to be those rules you're going to have to work out.
Reed Blankenship
It's part of it. Like I said, it's not a perfect game. So just have fun, have fun supporting us, and we'll try to make it. Make it a great time for y'.
Cooper DeJean
All. So I'm excited to be back out there.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
And we're back with Another segment of the Fan Rapid Fire Q and A, we have Lawrence. Where are you calling in from, brother?
Reed Blankenship
I'm actually calling in from Belgium across the pond.
Cooper DeJean
I love that.
Reed Blankenship
What do you got for us? My question was, what's the difference between watching film and really studying?
Cooper DeJean
I'd say. I'd say if you're watching film, it's just like watching a regular game on tv. Like, you're not. You're not really looking for, like, little hints.
Reed Blankenship
Little hint. Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
Give away the other team.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah.
Cooper DeJean
When you're studying it, you're looking for all those, all those things. Anything like you'll. You'll have an advantage against.
Reed Blankenship
Rewind it. Rewind it. Yeah, like the same play and then look at it from a different angle and see if you can just spot like a difference between something else. Something else that happened previously or later in the game. So that's how I work anyway.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. Like when you're studying film, you're. You're looking at the different angles, you're rewinding the play multiple times. You're looking at different stances, different formations. If there's any tips you can. You can get and pick up to give you an advantage during the week. Yeah, I'd say.
Reed Blankenship
Good question. Yeah. Does it, like, change when you're playing certain positions? Because of all the different positions, especially.
Cooper DeJean
You could play all the different positions. Yeah.
Reed Blankenship
Like nickel. Does it change when you, you know, you're going to be playing a little bit more nickel or playing a little bit more corner?
Cooper DeJean
Does it change in the week?
Reed Blankenship
What.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah. What you're going to be watching for it? Definitely. I mean. Yeah, every. Every position you're looking at different things just because everybody has a different responsibility. So, you know, when you're playing outside, it's. It's a little bit different covering a guy than when you. When you're playing inside at. At nickel. Different route concepts, too, in the route concepts. Yeah. You got to take that all into account when you're, when you're switching. When you're switching positions. For sure.
Reed Blankenship
Yeah. Good question.
Cooper DeJean
Appreciate that, brother.
Reed Blankenship
Thank you.
Cooper DeJean
Great question. Thanks for. Thanks for joining us. Thanks for the support, too. We appreciate it. I'm a Raiders fan, but.
Reed Blankenship
Go Birds.
Cooper DeJean
Go Birds. There we go. Yeah. And our next guest on the Fan, rapid fire Q and A is our boy Justin. Justin, where are you from, brother? I grew up South Jersey, Cherry Hill area. But down in Florida now, it's probably half the Eagles fan base, so. Sarasota. Sarasota. Okay, what do you got for us? You Got a good question for us. My question is, you guys obviously have the exciting bites. Philadelphia being a food city, if you gotta eat one meal rest of your life, what would it be? Oh, shoot. I mean, some back home, some from Philly.
Reed Blankenship
There's a place actually in Murfreesboro where I went to college, and there's like a couple other places called Jack Brown's and it's a. So it's a burger joint and it's got all these specialty burgers and they got one that's called a Greg Brady that has macaroni. You can add bacon and barbecue chips on it. And it's made of wagyu patties, bro.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, yeah.
Reed Blankenship
And they have a secret fry sauce, dude.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, yeah. Mine would be just a steak cooked medium rare with some mashed potatoes and some corn. That's my. This is important, though. What kind of steak, though? Probably a ribeye. Ribeye or Perfect Dancer.
Reed Blankenship
Perfect answer.
Cooper DeJean
I prefer ribeye.
Reed Blankenship
Ribeye's nice.
Cooper DeJean
Yeah, yeah.
Reed Blankenship
Bone in, bone out, and bone out.
Cooper DeJean
Okay. It's really worth it to have the bone in there.
Reed Blankenship
True. I'd add sweet potatoes to that.
Cooper DeJean
All right, well, it's not your meal.
Reed Blankenship
I know. I was just saying how I'm appreciate you, though.
Cooper DeJean
