Everybody was like, someone was playing with my hair in that video. Some random person. It was.

I was. I was just spraying. I was spraying whipped cream all over everybody because they do the jello shots and you put whipped cream on top. So I was just spraying whipped cream all over everybody to keep them away from me. Me and Sydney Brown. Yeah, we. We auctioned off our shirts at the did so bartending event. So people bid on us to take our shirts off, bro. It was kind of.

How much?

I think it was like, it was like two grand or 2500 to. For us to take our shoe. Our shirts off. Anything for Eagles Autism foundation, you know what I'm saying?

So was that through the event, or is that just Yalls doing?

Yeah, that was. That was at the event.

That was part of the event.

I wasn't part of it, but we just made it a thing because we were just trying to raise money.

But when we got to the welcome party, which was the Friday, it was the day before. And then, like, obviously, like, I hope this goes right. Hope this goes right. Weather was perfect.

And you get to the ceremony, I'm like, oh, this. And obviously, I have no idea. I have no idea what anything looks like. I'm seeing everything from the first time. So I'm. Whatever you saw first is probably what I saw.

Sick, right?

[Cooper DeJean]

It Was sick. I kind of wish it lasted longer, though.

That was. I. Too fast.

You walked a little fast down the aisle, but I think you were just too excited to. To get married.

Well, I didn't know how that was going to be because that was one. That was one of my only requests. And I requested it way early on when they were planning. And I'm like, please let me walk down to an imperial march on a string quartet. And they're like. And she also know not doing that.

And everybody clapped for me. Like I did something. It was like an icebreaker, bro. You needed that. You needed. Because everybody's just so tense. And then, of course, it's like the classical music on the string quartet. Boom. All of a sudden.

It was a good little switch up.

What made you want to do that, though, dude?

I don't know. Recently I've been just so into the Star wars stuff now. So I don't know, because I went to Disney World. I did the whole lightsaber building lightsaber experience like a kid. I think I was like. I don't know. Was I the only. No, there was some older people in there. But, dude, what was this?

This was before the wedding.

[Reed Blankenship]

This was before the wedding. I wanted. I wanted to bring my lightsaber down the. Down the aisle. She wasn't going for that.

You should have. Bro. That would have been.

Bro, you know what? I was thinking about this. Not to get too long on this, but I was thinking about this. If before she walks out or actually when she's standing up there, somebody hands me my lightsaber and somebody in the crowd jumps out with another lightsaber to.

And then I'll go in and I get the rings and I bring them through it. That would have been hard.

Like, dude, everything that we needed, they had.

Yeah. Then we go sit in the steam room and just look at each other in a pile of mud.

No, it is. And then we get a massage for an hour and a half. And I fell asleep. I snored, but very relaxed. I knew that.

Yeah. So, like, right outside, we had our own pool.

And then we're 20, 20 or 40 yards from, like, the sand from the beach. It is sick.

Yeah, I mean, we had a blast. I mean, we're there for seven days, I think. What'd you do?

I went home and I was the grand marshal in my parade. My hometown, like, parade. It's called creek days. This is before the wedding, but yeah, that was something cool that I did.

Was it like, do you walk?

Nah, I rode around in my truck.

A big old trip. My dad drove my truck, and I just stood in the back and I threw candy to all the kids out Align the streets.

Big crowd? I mean, it's a. It's a pretty small town. So the parade was like, 20 minutes long. Wasn't like a Super bowl champion. And then we freaking put in a bags tournament after that.

This is year two for you now.

Year two for me. My first training camp. Really though, because I was hurt last.

Last year, you didn't do practice coming in at all. No, I didn't practice till the end of training camp. No. But it'll be. It'll be fun to be back in the hotel, have those long days. I think we go from like 10am to practice starts at 10am yeah, practice starts at 10.

[Reed Blankenship]

I'll probably be in there by.

[Cooper DeJean]

Oh, yeah. Be in there early 7:38.

[Reed Blankenship]

You stay in the hotel? Yeah, you gotta stay in the hotel.

[Cooper DeJean]

Go from like, be in the building from like 8 to like 7 at night.

[Reed Blankenship]

But it's part of it. Like, it's. We've been doing this since.

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah.

[Reed Blankenship]

I mean, freshman year of college.

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah.

[Reed Blankenship]

But it's cool because you get to. You're with your. Like you're with your guys for that long during the days, the weeks. Like sometimes a grind.

[Cooper DeJean]

Oh, yeah, it's a grind.

[Reed Blankenship]

But like, everybody understands that you get closer in that time. Like, I'm. I. I really enjoy being able to do this because I like the guys. It goes back to what we've been.

[Cooper DeJean]

Talking about for the guys in our building.

[Reed Blankenship]

So if I. If I wasn't excited and that'd been. That'd be a problem. But rarely get this stuff going and so see what we got. I mean, I know what we got, but just, you know, a little new faces here and there and.

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah.

[Reed Blankenship]

See how they roll.

New grind.

[Reed Blankenship]

Yeah.

It's a tough Mental battle when you just do the same thing it is every single day.

You're sore, you know, you first, you.

Put on your pads and in the heat.

[Reed Blankenship]

And the heat. And I always say it's. It's hard to get like, you. You can be in shape. Like, you can train, you can do this. But, like, when it's time to be in football shape, you. You actually got to put on the pads. You actually got to run. You got. You got to hit.

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah.

[Reed Blankenship]

You can't mimic that. No. In training, so that's always a challenge, but that's part of it. I mean.

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah. You gotta make sure you're eating right.

[Reed Blankenship]

Eating right. Make sure you eat liquid in general.

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah.

[Reed Blankenship]

I mean, because me, I'll lose probably every day. You gotta weigh in way out. And I'll lose six to seven pounds.

[Cooper DeJean]

Oh, yeah. Every single day. Especially when it's hot out, too.

[Reed Blankenship]

So I'd rather. I kind of want to show up a little bit on the heavier side of my weight limit rather than where I play at, because by. By the first game, I'm right where I want to be, you know? But. Yeah, that. I mean, once you lose that much weight, too, and it sucks. It sucks, man.

[Cooper DeJean]

Get to eat a lot of food, though. Hydrated to get your way back up.

[Reed Blankenship]

Yeah. And then you got meetings after meetings, and.

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah, hopefully we get the. Hopefully you get the room stocked with snacks.

[Reed Blankenship]

I'll make sure that's a point of emphasis.

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah.

[Reed Blankenship]

For the rookies. Y' all did good last year.

[Cooper DeJean]

Tried. Tried to.

[Reed Blankenship]

Y' all did good. Y' all always had my Scooby snacks.

You got any goals for. For training camp?

Just be a little bit more vocal.

Kind of be, you know, step up and be that leader on the back end. I mean, that. I'll say step up, but I feel like you've.

You've kind of started to do that already, though.

Just kind of just want to be myself, which I. I'm not. Like, I don't put you.

You were like that last year, though.

And you just. It's more of an emphasis on you this year.

[Reed Blankenship]

I mean, you. You lose guys like slaying and cd, you know, the. The veteran guys, and now I'm mandatory. We're the vets, you know, and it's. It's crazy to think, but.

And we got to be able to. To progress in. In our defense and.

[Reed Blankenship]

Yeah.

[Cooper DeJean]

You know, be able to show new things, you know, for the teams that we play this year.

[Reed Blankenship]

Absolutely. But I feel like we. We started off on a real strong foot.

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah.

And OTAs.

[Cooper DeJean]

Oh, yeah, no doubt. It's the second year in the defense, so we've kind of learned the ins and outs, and we're able to do, you know, a lot more. More things within. Within the defense and within the play calls. Yeah, that'll make it. I'm excited on us and more fun. Hopefully we can get some. Get some more turnovers.

Yeah. You know, and definitely going into the year, people always talk about, you know, the target on your back, whatever, but.

We talk about. We talk about having the target on our back, but, you know, we're still. We're still the ones that are out there going to hunt, you know, I.

Don'T think you lose that no matter what you do.

Nowhere else to go. Like, you're legit there for however many hours during the day, but you're there through the whole month.

Yeah. Training camp's, like, where the. The team is, like, warm together. I'm excited to see the rookies and how they do, yeah. During. During camp. They did a good job during OTAs, I think, picking it up, picking up the defense.

[Reed Blankenship]

I just want to know how they're going to be. Because the biggest thing, too, that you don't really think about is having fans there.

[Cooper DeJean]

Oh, yeah.

[Reed Blankenship]

When you have all the fans, like, each. Each time you have, it's like you're playing a game pretty much. You have eyes all on you and you got one on ones. You got this, like, just gotta be prepared. Like, you lose a rep, you gotta shake back fast.

You know what. What's your message for Eagles fans for this upcoming season? You got a message if you're a coach. Coach Blankenship.

Yeah, it's not gonna be perfect. Yeah, nothing's gonna be perfect. So tough to win, you know, however many games total in a row, and let's go without losing. So there's going to be some ups and downs as there is in. In every season, highs and lows, you.

Know, but it's always steady as we go.

It's always how you. How you respond to the adversity when it hits.

And I think our team did a good job with that last year. And.

What do you got for us? My question was, what's the difference between watching film and really studying?

[Cooper DeJean]

I'd say. I'd say if you're watching film, it's just like watching a regular game on tv. Like, you're not. You're not really looking for, like, little hints.

[Reed Blankenship]

Little hint. Yeah.

[Cooper DeJean]

Give away the other team.

[Reed Blankenship]

Yeah.

[Cooper DeJean]

When you're studying it, you're looking for all those, all those things. Anything like you'll. You'll have an advantage against.

[Reed Blankenship]

Rewind it. Rewind it. Yeah, like the same play and then look at it from a different angle and see if you can just spot like a difference between something else. Something else that happened previously or later in the game. So that's how I work anyway.

[Cooper DeJean]

Yeah. Like when you're studying film, you're. You're looking at the different angles, you're rewinding the play multiple times. You're looking at different stances, different formations. If there's any tips you can. You can get and pick up to give you an advantage during the week. Yeah, I'd say.

[Reed Blankenship]

Good question. Yeah. Does it, like, change when you're playing certain positions? Because of all the different positions, especially.

[Cooper DeJean]

You could play all the different positions. Yeah.

[Reed Blankenship]

Like nickel. Does it change when you, you know, you're going to be playing a little bit more nickel or playing a little bit more corner?

[Cooper DeJean]

Does it change in the week?

[Reed Blankenship]

What.

Yeah. What you're going to be watching for it? Definitely. I mean. Yeah, every. Every position you're looking at different things just because everybody has a different responsibility. So, you know, when you're playing outside, it's. It's a little bit different covering a guy than when you. When you're playing inside at. At nickel. Different route concepts, too, in the route concepts. Yeah. You got to take that all into account when you're, when you're switching. When you're switching positions. For sure.

And it's made of wagyu patties, bro.

And they have a secret fry sauce, dude.
