How we are telling stories may have be changing, but storytelling is still about the same thing: bringing an audience into the world of the narrative being told. Stories are sticky, and they stick best when they are told well. All the technological elements might help stories come to live, but the crafting of the story makes it last in one's mind far beyond the moment of its telling. To explore these points, I welcome Charles Melcher to Experience by Design podcast. Charles has a long career of telling stories, whether in high-end art publications or ones with large-market appeal. We explore his career, which today includes the opening of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library on July 4, 2026. We also discuss his book "The Future of StoryTelling", and how that future involves more involvement of audiences in the telling, turning them into "Actians."
