More impulsive in their witness for Christ is that they hear two voices when they should only hear one. Impulsive obedience can never arise from divided attention. Theme: The courage, impulsiveness, and purity of heart in Christian witness, exemplified through the story of Lin Dao and her family’s suffering and steadfast faith in communist Vietnam.
This episode centers on the remarkable story of Lin Dao, a young girl in Vietnam whose father—a pastor—was imprisoned for his underground church work. The narrative explores Lin’s courageous and “impulsive” actions to support her father in prison and the spiritual lesson of hearing and obeying God’s voice alone, even in the face of real danger.
This episode tells the moving real-life story of Lin Dao, highlighting how childlike, courageous acts—rooted in a pure heart—can subvert expectations and support faith in hostile environments. Through Lin’s story, the episode urges listeners to respond impulsively to God’s promptings, emphasizing that such devotion finds its root in undivided faith and the discipline of listening for His voice above all others.
