Here you will find audio commentary of all classic F1 races!
(Usually from the brilliant Murray Walker Where possible)
Unfortunately, over the years, FOM & the FIA have a bad habit of deleting peoples often brilliant F1 related content because of the visuals.
So, here, hopefully being able to just listen to commentary and the beauty that is the various F1 engines over the years will be a joy!

This was a bit of a bizzare race!Drivers Stalling, new drivers in new teams, a weird situation where a car was up on its jacks at the start lights and a HUUUUUGE Shunt for Luciano Burti would mean it would be his last ever F1 start. It would also be Tarso Marques' last F1 start for Minardi as he would be replaced by Alex Yoong after this race.It would also be the last podium for the 3rd place man for his current team and his last until 2003.The last EVER points finish for the man in 6th which would bring a sad end to what SHOULD have been more in his career.Ferrari would be the 1st Constructor to reach 650 race starts and with it, they would break Alain Prosts all time win record.Drivers Standings AFTER race:-1 | (DEU) Michael Schumacher | 1042 | (GBR) David Coulthard | 573 | (BRA) Rubens Barrichello | 484 | (DEU) Ralf Schumacher | 445 | (FIN) Mika Hakkinen | 246 | (COL) Juan Pablo Montoya | 157 | (CAN) Jacques Villeneuve | 118 | (DEU) Nick Heidfeld | 119 | (FIN) Kimi Raikkonen | 910 | (ITA) Jarno Trulli | 911 | (ITA) Giancarlo Fisichella | 812 | (DEU) Heinz-Harald Frentzen | 613 | (FRA) Olivier Panis | 514 | (FRA) Jean Alesi | 515 | (GBR) Eddie Irvine | 416 | (GBR) Jenson Button | 217 | (NLD) Jos Verstappen | 118 | (ESP) Pedro de la Rosa | 1Constructors AFTER race:-1 | Ferrari | 1522 | McLaren-Mercedes | 813 | Williams-BMW | 594 | Sauber-Petronas | 205 | BAR-Honda | 166 | Jordan-Honda | 167 | Benetton-Renault | 108 | Jaguar-Cosworth | 59 | Prost-Acer | 410 | Arrows-Asiatech | 1Send us Fan MailSupport the showIf you like it, Follow me! Few Driver Swaps happening here..Jean Alesi went from Prost to Jordan, and he was replaced by Heinz Harald Frentzen who was sacked by Jordan a few races prior. So this was it.David Coulthard, try as he might was 37 points behind the Immovable German, M. Schumacher. He NEEDED a miracle to keep the championship fight alive.Could the Mclarens deal some damage, or would the Ferrari combination be too strong..Well, all types of records would be broken and matched this day..Campiones! (1st Constructor to win 11 Championships)It also might not have meant much, but this would be the final ever fastest lap for Mika Hakkinen. It would also be the last ever start for Luciano Burti due to a huge crash in practise at the next GP.Drivers Standings AFTER the race:-1 | (DEU) Michael Schumacher | 942 | (GBR) David Coulthard | 513 | (BRA) Rubens Barrichello | 464 | (DEU) Ralf Schumacher | 445 | (FIN) Mika Hakkinen | 216 | (COL) Juan Pablo Montoya | 157 | (CAN) Jacques Villeneuve | 118 | (DEU) Nick Heidfeld | 119 | (FIN) Kimi Raikkonen | 910 | (ITA) Jarno Trulli | 911 | (DEU) Heinz-Harald Frentzen | 612 | (FRA) Olivier Panis | 513 | (GBR) Eddie Irvine | 414 | (ITA) Giancarlo Fisichella | 415 | (FRA) Jean Alesi | 416 | (GBR) Jenson Button | 217 | (NLD) Jos Verstappen | 118 | (ESP) Pedro de la Rosa | 1Constructors Standings:-1 | Ferrari | 1402 | McLaren-Mercedes | 723 | Williams-BMW | 594 | Sauber-Petronas | 205 | BAR-Honda | 166 | Jordan-Honda | 157 | Benetton-Renault | 68 | Jaguar-Cosworth | 59 | Prost-Acer | 410 | Arrows-Asiatech | 1Send us Fan MailSupport the showIf you like it, Follow me! Mike Schumi could take one giant leap forward to his 4th world championship with a win here. But as the story usually goes at a home GP, it is never that simple.Montoya took his first ever pole. One HUGE Crash on the start line would have implications for the rest of the race.Few things to note, this was the last time the race was held on this classic track. The race for 2002 would be on a shorter version of the circuit. This would also be BARs 2nd and last podium until 2004, and the last for a Canadian Driver until 2017.Drivers Standings AFTER race:-1 | (DEU) Michael Schumacher | 842 | (GBR) David Coulthard | 473 | (DEU) Ralf Schumacher | 414 | (BRA) Rubens Barrichello | 405 | (FIN) Mika Hakkinen | 196 | (COL) Juan Pablo Montoya | 157 | (CAN) Jacques Villeneuve | 118 | (DEU) Nick Heidfeld | 109 | (FIN) Kimi Raikkonen | 910 | (ITA) Jarno Trulli | 911 | (DEU) Heinz-Harald Frentzen | 612 | (FRA) Olivier Panis | 513 | (GBR) Eddie Irvine | 414 | (ITA) Giancarlo Fisichella | 415 | (FRA) Jean Alesi | 416 | (GBR) Jenson Button | 217 | (NLD) Jos Verstappen | 118 | (ESP) Pedro de la Rosa | 1Constructors AFTER Race:-1 | Ferrari | 1242 | McLaren-Mercedes | 663 | Williams-BMW | 564 | Sauber-Petronas | 195 | BAR-Honda | 166 | Jordan-Honda | 157 | Benetton-Renault | 68 | Jaguar-Cosworth | 59 | Prost-Acer | 410 | Arrows-Asiatech | 1Send us Fan MailSupport the showIf you like it, Follow me! Round 10 saw Ralf Schumacher who was already having a very good season pick up his first ever pole position.Always nervy when its your first.. Mclaren had been mighty strong the last 2 years with David coulthard winning them both. This year he had the chance to be the first British driver to do it since The great Jim Clark. As always, the Ferrari and Schumacher was strong but so was the Mclaren package.DC NEEDED a win to keep his slim titel hopes alive..But the eventual winner would be an almighty popular one given his season was pretty dreadful up to this point.Drivers standings AFTER the race:-1 | (DEU) Michael Schumacher | 842 | (GBR) David Coulthard | 473 | (BRA) Rubens Barrichello | 344 | (DEU) Ralf Schumacher | 315 | (FIN) Mika Hakkinen | 196 | (COL) Juan Pablo Montoya | 157 | (DEU) Nick Heidfeld | 108 | (FIN) Kimi Raikkonen | 99 | (ITA) Jarno Trulli | 910 | (CAN) Jacques Villeneuve | 711 | (DEU) Heinz-Harald Frentzen | 612 | (FRA) Olivier Panis | 513 | (GBR) Eddie Irvine | 414 | (FRA) Jean Alesi | 315 | (NLD) Jos Verstappen | 116 | (ESP) Pedro de la Rosa | 117 | (ITA) Giancarlo Fisichella | 1Constructors AFTER race:-1 | Ferrari | 1182 | McLaren-Mercedes | 663 | Williams-BMW | 464 | Sauber-Petronas | 195 | Jordan-Honda | 156 | BAR-Honda | 127 | Jaguar-Cosworth | 58 | Prost-Acer | 39 | Arrows-Asiatech | 110 | Benetton-Renault | 1Send us Fan MailSupport the showIf you like it, Follow me! Was the championship starting to dwindle already?Could Coulthard breathe some life back into it?Well, IT was to be an historic day with the winner and 2nd place making history!3rd Place would go to a man who SORELY needed it!For One of the podium finishers, this would already be his 90th marking him as the 2nd ever driver to reach this feat!Drivers standings AFTER the race:- 1 | (DEU) Michael Schumacher | 582 | (GBR) David Coulthard | 403 | (BRA) Rubens Barrichello | 244 | (DEU) Ralf Schumacher | 225 | (DEU) Nick Heidfeld | 86 | (FIN) Mika Hakkinen | 87 | (CAN) Jacques Villeneuve | 78 | (FIN) Kimi Raikkonen | 79 | (ITA) Jarno Trulli | 710 | (COL) Juan Pablo Montoya | 611 | (DEU) Heinz-Harald Frentzen | 612 | (FRA) Olivier Panis | 513 | (GBR) Eddie Irvine | 414 | (FRA) Jean Alesi | 315 | (NLD) Jos Verstappen | 116 | (ITA) Giancarlo Fisichella | 117 | (ESP) Pedro de la Rosa | 1 Constructors AFTER the race:-1 | Ferrari | 822 | McLaren-Mercedes | 483 | Williams-BMW | 284 | Sauber-Petronas | 155 | Jordan-Honda | 136 | BAR-Honda | 127 | Jaguar-Cosworth | 58 | Prost-Acer | 39 | Arrows-Asiatech | 110 | Benetton-Renault | 1 Send us Fan MailSupport the showIf you like it, Follow me! Pundits were starting to ask if favouring DC Over Hakkinen for the championship was to be a thing?DC stated he just focused on winning races and that Mika realised the complexity of the situation. But the Williams were on fire over recent rounds and Montoya (Who at this point, had only finished once in 8 races) NEEDED a result! After missing the previous race after a HUGE crash, Jordans Heinz Harald Frentzen was back replacing Zonta again.Drivers Standings AFTER the race:-1 | (DEU) Michael Schumacher | 682 | (GBR) David Coulthard | 443 | (BRA) Rubens Barrichello | 264 | (DEU) Ralf Schumacher | 255 | (COL) Juan Pablo Montoya | 126 | (FIN) Mika Hakkinen | 97 | (DEU) Nick Heidfeld | 88 | (CAN) Jacques Villeneuve | 79 | (FIN) Kimi Raikkonen | 710 | (ITA) Jarno Trulli | 711 | (DEU) Heinz-Harald Frentzen | 612 | (FRA) Olivier Panis | 513 | (GBR) Eddie Irvine | 414 | (FRA) Jean Alesi | 315 | (NLD) Jos Verstappen | 116 | (ESP) Pedro de la Rosa | 117 | (ITA) Giancarlo Fisichella | 1Constructors:-1 | Ferrari | 942 | McLaren-Mercedes | 533 | Williams-BMW | 374 | Sauber-Petronas | 155 | Jordan-Honda | 136 | BAR-Honda | 127 | Jaguar-Cosworth | 58 | Prost-Acer | 39 | Arrows-Asiatech | 110 | Benetton-Renault | 1Send us Fan MailSupport the showIf you like it, Follow me! The Championship battle was heating up here between Ferrari & Mclaren once more, but again, it would be the Scotsman who would be taking the challenge to Schumacher!Ron Dennis had publicly shamed DC after his start line stall in Spain (He later retracted the remark though) but the relationship was strained and DC needed to keep his head cool and focus on the races in hand.Starting 7th, what could he do from there?Few Stats:-This would be the last win and fastest lap for a British driver until 2007.This would be the last ever points finish for the Verstappen name until 2015.This would be the first EVER race where a Colombian started on the front row.Drivers Standings AFTER the race:- 1 | (DEU) Michael Schumacher | 422 | (GBR) David Coulthard | 383 | (BRA) Rubens Barrichello | 184 | (DEU) Ralf Schumacher | 125 | (DEU) Nick Heidfeld | 86 | (ITA) Jarno Trulli | 77 | (COL) Juan Pablo Montoya | 68 | (DEU) Heinz-Harald Frentzen | 69 | (FRA) Olivier Panis | 510 | (CAN) Jacques Villeneuve | 411 | (FIN) Kimi Raikkonen | 412 | (FIN) Mika Hakkinen | 413 | (NLD) Jos Verstappen | 114 | (ITA) Giancarlo Fisichella | 1 Constructors AFTER the race:- 1 | Ferrari | 602 | McLaren-Mercedes | 423 | Williams-BMW | 184 | Jordan-Honda | 135 | Sauber-Petronas | 126 | BAR-Honda | 97 | Arrows-Asiatech | 18 | Benetton-Renault | 1 Send us Fan MailSupport the showIf you like it, Follow me! Lot of drivers had many reasons to be optimistic here.David Coulthard, Fresh off that amazing Austria win, took pole position here. (and it would actually become his LAST ever pole)Schumacher aimed at tying Graham Hills 5 wins at Monaco record.Eddie Irvine had always gone well here too, but also Mika Hakkinen was looking in good shape. This could go any which way, unfortunately for one driver, a 1998 Japanese GP repeat was about to ruin it all.Where a NEW team got its first EVER podium here in 1997, the team that it took over would also get its first podium here.Michael Schumahcer would also be the first German driver to start 150 races and the Benetton team would be the 10th constructor to start 250 races.Drivers Standings AFTER the race:- 1 | (DEU) Michael Schumacher | 522 | (GBR) David Coulthard | 403 | (BRA) Rubens Barrichello | 244 | (DEU) Ralf Schumacher | 125 | (DEU) Nick Heidfeld | 86 | (CAN) Jacques Villeneuve | 77 | (ITA) Jarno Trulli | 78 | (COL) Juan Pablo Montoya | 69 | (DEU) Heinz-Harald Frentzen | 610 | (FRA) Olivier Panis | 511 | (GBR) Eddie Irvine | 412 | (FIN) Kimi Raikkonen | 413 | (FIN) Mika Hakkinen | 414 | (NLD) Jos Verstappen | 115 | (FRA) Jean Alesi | 116 | (ITA) Giancarlo Fisichella | 1Constructors AFTER race:-1 | Ferrari | 762 | McLaren-Mercedes | 443 | Williams-BMW | 184 | Jordan-Honda | 135 | BAR-Honda | 126 | Sauber-Petronas | 127 | Jaguar-Cosworth | 48 | Arrows-Asiatech | 19 | Benetton-Renault | 110 | Prost-Acer | 1Send us Fan MailSupport the showIf you like it, Follow me! Back to the ever epic Imola circuit where, again, Schumacher M wanted to take a stranglehold on the championship..The Mclaren boys were not going to let that happen with David Coulthard in scintillating form at this early stage of the season.A Mclaren 1 - 2 whetted the appetites, but it was Schumacher R... Old Ralfie boy who was in prime position to spoil the silver party! This would also be the winning constructors FIRST win, Amazingly, since 1997!This would also be the last ever F1 start for Gaston Mazzacane in the Prost, who would be fired after just 4 races of the new season.Drivers Standings AFTER the race:- 1 | (DEU) Michael Schumacher | 262 | (GBR) David Coulthard | 263 | (BRA) Rubens Barrichello | 144 | (DEU) Ralf Schumacher | 125 | (DEU) Nick Heidfeld | 76 | (DEU) Heinz-Harald Frentzen | 67 | (FIN) Mika Hakkinen | 48 | (ITA) Jarno Trulli | 49 | (FRA) Olivier Panis | 310 | (ITA) Giancarlo Fisichella | 111 | (FIN) Kimi Raikkonen | 1 Constructors AFTER the race:- 1 | Ferrari | 402 | McLaren-Mercedes | 303 | Williams-BMW | 124 | Jordan-Honda | 105 | Sauber-Petronas | 86 | BAR-Honda | 37 | Benetton-Renault | 1 Send us Fan MailSupport the showIf you like it, Follow me!
