Fantasy. What's good friends? And welcome to Fantasy Focus Football presented by Wingstop alongside Field Jates. Who is at home. Neither one of us actually are in the studio right now, so if you hear anything going on in the background, that's part of what happens when you do a show from home during the holidays. But feel field. How you doing my friend?
A
I'm doing great, Daniel. I'm sending the over under it two and a half times that my children disrupt this podcast. I have them. So I'm actually visiting my in laws in Florida right now. All kinds of crazy travel stuff going on. Anybody who lives in the northeast knows that we're expecting some sort of storm. So I'm scrambling a bit this morning. My kids are outside at the moment because it's beautiful here in Florida as it often is during the holidays. But we're going to try to make it through this podcast without three interruptions but no promises made. Daniel, I hope you had a wonderful holiday though. How was it man?
B
It was great. It was fantastic being up here with mama dop and the family. So that was really good. Always love being able to do that. I you can probably tell them battling an illness. Field and I were these the last two days because of the holidays but you know, feels you're battling just chronic being beautiful all the time. I'm not sure that'll ever go away. You're just a good looking dude.
A
Oh, you're too kind my friend. You don't actually mean that. But I will say this. My backdrop right now is quite literally one of the most boring zoom backdrops in the history of humankind. Yours is awesome. I want to live in your Christmas tree. I see you. You are. You've got what I think I see four guitars over there. You've got books, you've got vinyls. Shout out to your decor specialist. Probably Rosie, because your house looks awesome compared to. I've literally got like pull up shades behind me.
B
Hey man, that's. Sometimes we just got to make work whatever we got with us, right? So yeah, all that is going to be Great. We're going to have a good time here. Last question that I have before we dive into football field. You let us know about a week ago that you bought your daughters a dollhouse and you put it together. The mark of a good Christmas present is it has survived at least a week after they got it as a Christmas. Is the dollhouse still in fact standing?
A
It still is in fact standing, Daniel. I am barely standing after having to build that thing. I think I told this story last Friday that I did it on at the start. I started building the dollhouse at the beginning of Rams, Seahawks and I had not even finished until the end of the game, which went into overtime. Did five quarter football and I still couldn't get done. So on the positive side, my thumb, which was raw from just doing a million different screwdrivers, is back to normal. So we got that going for us again. Some are saying it's heroic. I wouldn't go that far, but at least the V house was successfully built and not yet ruined. Check in by like mid January and I might have a different answer on.
B
That and then we'll see where it's at. Yeah, no worries. No worries. All right, well, with all that being said, let's dive into a bunch of football because people have championships on the line here, my friend. Really quickly we're gonna get through all of our week 17 preview part two. We did part one on Tuesday with Stefania and Tyler and I obviously took a couple days off. But before we dive into that, why don't we take a quick look back at what was the Christmas slate of games field And I think we can be pretty quick because at least in my estimation, most of the people that you wanted to trust in fantasy kind of sucked on Christmas Day. Unfortunately.
A
Probably more cold than presence yesterday. Daniel, as the beginning game. So I think here's the way to approach it is when you went into the Cowboys Commanders games, I think the most likely players, most likely not guaranteed, but most likely players to be in a starting lineup in a fantasy championship were CD Lim, George Pickens, Javante Williams, Dak Prescott, Brandon Aubrey, Jake Ferguson from the Cowboys. With Jake kind of teetering on the edge there from the Commanders, probably just Terry McLaurin. Yeah, that's right, Debo. Maybe it was a low flex given the matchup. Bill Crosky, Merritt might have been like a last minute snipe, but that was because Chris Rodriguez got sick yesterday and he was a complete surprise inactive there. So out of that group, Daniel, we'll include Bill Crosky Merit here. We will. But out of that group, Daniel, it was like Dak paid off, Brandon Aubrey paid off, and Bill Crosby Mayor paid off. And that's it, right?
B
That's it.
A
Yeah. So the amazing season for CD Lamb and more. So George Pickens, who was way above expectation this year, but he kind of crawled to the finish line, right. Like three out of his last four games. Under 10 fantasy points for George Pickens. He had that monster week 16 against the Chargers. Seven for 130 and a touchdown. So my takeaway from that game was it kind of felt like you banked on all the Cowboys and two of them paid off. Dak was really good yesterday. Nearly 23 fantasy points. Not off the charts, but really good. And then Aubrey, who actually missed a 58 yard field goal, still got you 15 fantasy points. So shout out to Aubrey. Big season for him. He's gonna get paid all the money this off season. But besides that, Daniel, I kind of felt a little bit underwhelmed by that game.
B
And Brandon Aubrey only missed that kick just to prove that he is in fact human and not AI incarnate. That's why. Because if he just makes all the kicks obvious because he's so good, then we would. We would be wondering about that. But yeah, Dallas was very frustrating if you wanted to count on big games from either of those wide receivers, given the matchup. And on the other side, like you had just talked about, I don't think any of us really put in a lot of stock up front in Jakori Crosby Merit. But if you had to make that late pivot and you decided to go that route, he absolutely paid off for you.
A
22 plus fantasy points. Yeah. Do you want to take the next five minutes off, Daniel? And I'll just give you what I will.
B
Please, please talk about the Lions Vikings game, because it was awesome.
A
All right. It was pretty much all defense here. As I saw the stat from Kevin Seifert at halftime, that the Vikings, who were leading the game at halftime, had 36 yards. Maybe it was tied. It was. Their total yardage was 36. And that was the fewest yards by a team either tied or with the lead in something like a thousand years. Not literally a thousand years, but a long time. So this game was defined really by defense. Unfortunately, Jared Go accounted for five turnovers yesterday, plus Jameer Gibbs had a fumble. So let's again do the same thing we would do, we would have done otherwise with the Cowboys. Game is in this game. I think you went into it, Daniel saying to Yourself in the championship. Jameer Gibbs. Absolutely. I'm a starting radar. I'm on Ross St. Brown absolutely on the starting radar. Jamo Jameson Williams on the starting radar, Maybe Jared Goff, but I think Jared Goff probably not given the matchup. And Goff, as we know, is kind of up or down. And then from the Vikings side, Aaron Jones, perhaps. And Justin Jefferson, perhaps Jefferson's. Yeah, yeah. You're sort of like, maybe we get that. Well, the only one of those guys that I feel like even sort of kind of close to came paying off was, I guess, Amon Ra, who had 14.8 fantasy points. They had 13 targets. He had eight catches. They just couldn't score touchdowns. The only person that did score a touchdown Yesterday in a 23:10 defeat was Isaac Tesla, who had nearly 14 fantasy points. But I don't know. Fantasy championship week, Daniel that isn't what you're asking for if you're throwing a dart on anybody. So the Vikings defense was kind of the story of the day. They were exceptional. Justin Jefferson, man, I almost. I want to get him another quarterback next year or get him a quarterback for Christmas. Maybe JJ McCarthy will take a big step, but 4 for 30. Daniel Just a wo be gone season from Justin Jefferson, who over his last, let me see, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 games, had five games under 8.8 fantasy points in all. Six of those games under fantasy. So shout out to anybody that is going to win a championship with Justin Jefferson. Because, like, I hate to say this, but, you know, the, the old, like, the old meme that goes around. Tyrese Halliburton dropped it this year after the Olympics where it's like when you get the trophy for just participating, you know, that might be just in the effort. It might be more of a participation trophy. But do you want to get anything off your chest from this game? Daniel Like, I'm a group thread with you and what 10 other guys who are all from Michigan. And I didn't chime in last night because I was just absorbing. But, man, that was an emotional text thread last night.
B
It was frustrating. It was frustrating watching a team that you feel like should have so much more to be able to bring to the table, especially for us in fantasy. But like, you know, just as Lions fans, the offensive line let everybody down. And not just us as Lions fans, but, like, you look at how the running backs have run the ball the last couple of weeks, it's been brutal. I mean, you've. It's been so difficult with that offensive line. I just, I'LL say this and then we can move on. The fact that the Detroit Lions lost to a seventh round rookie quarterback who had 51 passing yards and a team total of three passing yards is just embarrassing. So I think the Lions have got to look in the mirror and figure out who they're going to be next year. They got a lot of situations they needed to address. I can't wait to listen to first draft and have you give us seven offensive linemen and another six defensive linemen somehow through the trenches, man. Like give me all that. But it was a tough one if you were watching that game. To be honest. We got to the point where it's like maybe we'd rather spend time with the family than keep watching this football game.
A
I know it was tough, but I think, I think to not to throw salt balloons. Max Brosmar actually went undrafted. So not even a seventh round.
B
Oh, he wasn't.
A
It's an undrafted even better. But I feel like the. I think, I think I went through this too quickly. Daniel because the real disappointment. I mean, Jameson Williams, 5.7 fantasy points. Not great. Jamo has a little bit more baked in volatility to his game. It's Jamir Gibbs, man. Jameer Jir Gibbs under seven fantasy points, which he's unbelievable. Daniel. Like he is probably the reason why most people are there in the first place. But Jameer Gibbs, if you look at the final five games, Daniel, it was a roller coaster, right? I mean, Jameer gets 6.4 fantasy points. Yesterday he had just two catches. But in the last five games of the season, get 11.6 or fewer fantasy points in, in three of those last five.
B
That's not going to do it. That's the. When the guy gets you there and then performs that way in the winner go home playoffs, it's so difficult for you to continue to advance and, and move on. He definitely unfortunately was hampered by that offensive line and you could just see the efficiency got got sapped out of the entire running game there.
A
So if you survive games, 24 carries for 43 yards. That's wild.
B
That's not a Jameer Gibbs stat. You know what I mean?
A
You know, you know, my takeaway from it was Daniel and obviously it stinks. And I'm trying to because listen, I'm licking my, I'm, you know, licking the wounds proverbially here because I have a team in which I don't think it's a great team, but it had Jameer Gibbs. So it found its way to the championship and I'm this. So I'm trying to power positivity this thing this morning. Daniel, a reminder of what Ashton Genti can be once he gets an offensive line. Right? Because like as we see, even the very best running backs like Jameer Gibbs, who's an established great running back, needed an offensive line. We're going to get an offensive line for Jameer Gibson this off season and we're going to find an offensive line for Ashton Genti somehow, some way this offseason and better days are ahead.
B
Yes. I love that. Let's speak that into existence. Let's go. All right, let's move forward and talk about the last game. And to be honest, there's only one half of the game that we need to talk about. But Broncos and Chiefs, to be honest, the Chiefs kind of were exactly what I thought the Chiefs would be from a fantasy perspective, which is a tough thing to say, but it wasn't great, unfortunately. The Broncos actually, let's just talk about. Do you want to talk about the Chiefs really quickly? Is there any.
A
Well, so we came into this game and we said to our again, to use the same sort of approach. What Chief, were you starting in a championship? Maybe Travis Kelsey. That was it, right?
B
That was it.
A
And Travis Kelsey had five catches for 36 yards, which given the way the offense looked last night, Daniel is actually not terrible. He had more than half of the receiving yards last night. They threw for 66 yards. So despite there's only been three games played so far. But he is the highest scoring tight end of the six teams that have played at 8.6. But, oh, that's. There was no one you were starting in that game, Daniel, no running back, obviously no quarterback. We're going to have some conversations this off season about what level of player Xavier Worthy is. Is he good for dynasty purposes? Is he. Is he a good football player? Is he a. A fast player? He's definitely fast, but that might be sort of the ceiling on the player there. But the Broncos were kind of the reason why you were watching this game. If you were only watching for fantasy championship purposes, Daniel and I would say that two out of the three players that were plausibly in fantasy championship matchups paid off last night at quarterback Bonix 19.48, which is not amazing, but like, I don't think you're gonna cry over 19 and a half fantasy points for a guy who for the season is averaging, I think like he's averaging for the season. Let's see, whatever the number is, he went above his average. It Was a difficult matchup. He had a rushing touchdown. I think Bo was awesome last night. That being said, he gets 19 and a half fantasy points. RJ Harvey pays off with the late touchdown. He had five catches, 33 yards, 18.6 fantasy seed points. So he was fine. Again, Cortland Sutton was probably the only other name there. Daniel. And it was the night of close calls for Corin Sutton and I felt like there were two potential touchdowns in the first half. One of them was he was on a crossing route and Bo Nicks threw him a freaking A roll, this Chapman fastball and it just went right through the midst. And then the second one was a play on like a skinny post where he had a chance to corral it and then two defenders kind of dislodged it from him. So 4 for 40 is the fine line, final line for Cortland Sutton. Not great. Daniel. That being said, you know, Cortland Sutton hasn't been the guy that carried you to your championships and you might still find a way to survive it.
B
Yeah, Cortland Sutton probably against the Kansas City Chiefs, we still would have started as like a, at best, maybe a low end wide receiver too. But usually he was in my flex consideration with the way that this Broncos team has been playing offense, even though he's been good the last couple weeks. But yeah, it was not. All things considered, Bonix, being able to get the rushing touchdown really helped. If you don't get that rushing touchdown for six points, that's gonna be a vastly different day for him. But all things like, when I look at this entire slate field, the NFL thought they had a really good set of games at the beginning of the season. I mean, Dallas and Washington, they thought that was going to be a sick game. Dak versus Jaden Daniels, the Detroit Lions against J.J. mcCarthy here, that was last year's final. I mean, that was, that was the.
A
First, that was the last game of the regular season last year, right.
B
That everyone cared about. It was a 15 of two teams that were both 14 and two trying to move on. And then this game against the Broncos and Chiefs seemed like it was going to be unbelievable. And unfortunately, they all just sort of felt like duds. So hopefully if you started any of these guys this week, you either got the guys that did produce or you're able to overcome. And if, as I say this, if you're looking at your lineup and say, boy, I got a couple of duds in here, I got to figure out what I'm going to do for the rest of my Lineup field. Why don't we dive into our week 17 preview part 2 and talk about some options that we think we have here at the table. And I'm going to start with you with a couple of running backs you bring to the table. Yeah.
A
So Daniel, I think the focus for the rest of the show, it's championship weekend is just real thoughtful decisions that you are making. Not, you know, hey, can I, I'm just making this up here. Like should I target Marquez Valdez scantling? Like probably not. Guys like we, we probably won't be doing that in championship for fantasy. But I think one of the questions coming up from last week is are we starting both Steelers running backs after what we saw last weekend?
B
Right.
A
And I think the answer is that we're starting at least one of them. That one is Kenny Gainwell who now has back to back to back games with exactly seven targets. That's great. And he has at least five catches in those three games. So Kenny G is A getting a lot of targets and B, they're super high efficiency targets because it's just basically dump offs from Aaron Rodgers. He did have the remarkable touchdown catch last weekend. That being said, you know, most of the damage is done near the line of scrimmage for Kenny G. So to me, really solid floor for Kenny G. He has a slightly higher projection in Mike's work than Jaylen Warren does, which I agree with because one of the sort of the, the, the, the ping pong of that is that all the work for Kenny G in the passing game has meant a lot less work for Jalen Warren in the passing game. And Warren is going to basically need to break a big run or two to pay off. So I have Warren sort of on the back 20 this week here. Daniel, keep in mind when you're looking at rankings, six teams have already played, so factor that into your processing. But Kenny G to me feels like a start. Jaylen Warren right there on the fringe. Daniel, depending on your running back situation, but the Browns defense, one thing it has not done well of late is defend the run. I mean think about some of the recent huge games against the Browns and it's not just guys like James Cook who, who James Cook is awesome. Like him having a big game is sort of like whoever they play, it's possible. Tony Pollard ran left, right, center all over the Browns a couple weeks ago. So Kenny game of. First up, in terms of my preference of running backs from the Steelers, number two would be Jalen Warren. But Kenny G a start. Jalen Warren a close call.
B
I agree with that one. It would be almost impossible for me to bench Kenneth Gainwell with the way that he's played recently and and the things he's done for my squad. Coming here at the end of the quick break, let's talk pizza.

B
I want to talk about another running back if you don't mind, because for Henry and Zay Flowers now potentially being out without, excuse me, Lamar Jackson, he is doubtful in this one. I just want to make sure Are they still lineup locks? Because we've Tyler Huntley in our center. Derrick Henry has one full game with Huntley as a starter. That was week eight against the Bears. He had 21 carries for 71 yards and two touchdowns. So really poor efficiency. But those two touchdowns helped him get to 19 fantasy points. But we have unfortunately. I say unfortunately because that means we're playing without Lamar Jackson. We've seen plenty of Henry with other quarterbacks this season, multiple games with either Cooper Rush or Tyler Huntley under center and he's been passable, he's been fine. He's not in the Derrick Henry that you kind of wanted him to be or you drafted him to be as like that, you know, low end RB1 or high end RB2. But I think he's still startable. Packers are still a really good run defense. They're the six best team against running backs. That's not going to get easier without Lamar Jackson, but I still believe he's going to be right around that running back 15 or so range and I think he's probably the easier one because if you have Derrick Henry, you're probably still starting him because he's a running back.
A
Yeah. My feeling is if I have a Henry championship situation, he's in the lineup.
B
He's in the lineup. Zay Flowers, that one feels a little bit harder for me. He's got one game with Tyler Huntley as a starter. Huntley had 168 passing yards in that game. And I think I'm lowering expectations in a pretty decent way for Zay Flowers. Tyler Huntley, in his 15 career starts has only topped 200 passing yards four times. So that's obviously, you know, not that it can't be something that's in his bag, but it's not something that he has done frequently and only one game that he has played not started even. We took away that caveat. Just one game Tyler Huntley has played, has he thrown more than one passing touchdown and that was back in 20, 21 against the Packers. So that feels like real low volume. If you're looking for like a touchdown dependent wide receiver to be able to get into the end zone, you're really hoping that he gets maybe the one touchdown pass that it feels like Tyler Huntley can throw. So because of that, I think Zay Flowers kind of falls from that low end wide receiver too into like a potential flex option for me with Tyler Huntley. Yes, Tyler Huntley under center rather than it being Lamar Jackson.
A
Dude, totally agree. Like, I hate to do the, the proverbial check the ranks, but check the ranks is one where like he, he is definitely not a lineup block. All right. Like if you're staring at Z Flowers, I don't think that if you have a, A, a thin wide receiver room. Yeah, it's maybe it just, you know, submit lineup and don't worry about it. But I think there's a pretty decent opportunity if you're playing in the championship round that you have another wide receiver that you could slide in above Zay Flowers. I, I am Nervous about this offense, nervous about this team, man. Like, this is backs against the wall. They lose on sun. Saturday night, season is over. What a crazy year it's been in the NFL. If we have a playoffs with no Chiefs, no Lions, no Ravens, no Vikings, all no teams that were, you know, teams were top of the food chain last year. So don't ever apologize for winning, don't care who it's against, how it happens, and don't ever apologize for sustained success. I think about the Eagles right now. I know, like they're, you know, whatever this, that bellyaching and you know, is this team lost its fastball. I don't know, man. When you've been doing it for like five straight years, part of me is just like that in and of itself is an accomplishment. But I digress.
B
Yeah.
A
My next question, Daniels, is not really a question, more so just like a statement. Trevor Lawrence is a must start this week.
B
Oh, yeah.
A
I mean, Trevor Lawrence has been ridiculous. The Jaguars play the Colts and Trevor Lawrence over his last five weeks has been a top seven quarterback four times. Four times in the top seven over the last five weeks. On top of that, he has 17 total touchdowns in those five games. Seventeen. Now that includes a five passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown game. But still, if you take away the six in that one game, that means 11 in the other four, which is almost three a game. He has been money. He's playing with ultimate confidence right now. And he plays the Colts. Did you watch Monday Night Football last week, Daniel? Did you see what Brock Purdy did to that Colts defense who was still without Charvarius for it? I think there's a. An improved chance for Sauce Gardner to play, but far from a guarantee. It's been funky to follow some of the injury reporting this week as I pull up Stephen Holder's Twitter account. Our great cult reporter. Because team's not really practicing this week because of the Christmas holiday. So I think there is maybe a. A small chance of Sas Gardner plates. But listen, Sauce Gardner may be returning and coming off of a calf injury is not enough to deter me from starting Trevor Lawrence. This is why, man, we play a weekly game and sometimes, sometimes we can spend a lot of time talking about a player and it's not so much how they look over the full season. Right. Trevor had some uninspiring moments early, but he has. We use the term weak league winner a lot at quarterback. I do sort of think that league winner applies to Trevor Lawrence this year.
B
Yeah. With the way that he's played especially against the tough defenses down the stretch that we weren't sure about, he has been unbelievable. So I'm with you as a must start this week. Feels like there's no way if I've had him on my roster, there's no way I'm not putting him out here for my Week 17 championship field how many Cardinals wide receivers are we starting this week with Marvin Harrison Jr. And Michael Wilson? Last week, Marvin Harrison Jr. Only played 51 of the snaps. If you started him hoping that when he was coming back from this heel injury you were going to be able to utilize him in that matchup, he only got you 2.4 fantasy points and that it wasn't great to really crush you. No. Still dealing with a heel injury. Oh, speaking of, by the way, you asked me, I'm bearing the lead here. You're like, did you watch Monday Night Football last week? Of course I watched Monday Night Football. You were the play by play analyst on Monday Night Football, so of course I was able to watch it. We didn't get a chance to talk about it. Now's not the time probably. But it was so great to be able to watch you do that broadcast.
A
Well, we're pumped to be doing again this upcoming Monday, so I actually jump off of this show. I go to a call for that show. So we are rocking and rolling here, Daniel, but thank you for checking it out.
B
Of course.
A
And I need some advice on Marvin Harrison Jr. I think I know where you're going to land, but I want to hear the rest of your thoughts there.
B
So here's the thing. Michael Wilson honestly wasn't much better last week if you started him either. He also only had three targets, but it was 2 for 52 and a touchdown at least got in the end zone for 13.2 fantasy points. We've seen Wilson hit at least 13 fantasy points in five of his last six games. Someone here is going to get the D.J. turner shadow, right? Yep, that's going to happen. And so I think normally teams would just run the crap out of the ball. Against the Cincinnati Bengals team, I'm not sure the Cardinals are one of those teams that can just do that over and over with the running backs that they have. They may may have to pass a little bit more because of that. I just feel a lot better about Michael Wilson than I do with Marvin Harrison Jr. Given. Also, even if I start Marvin Harrison, there's a chance that that heal injury pops up mid game and I lose the guy halfway through the game and I don't even Get a full four quarters out of him with what he's been dealing with. So for me, I have Marvin Michael Wilson as a top 15 wide receiver and Marvin Harrison Jr. More as a risky flex option for me this week.
A
Yeah. Jonathan Gannon, the Cardinals head coach basically said the heel injury that Marv is dealing with is just not going to go away. Like it's going to be the rest of the year. He's managing it. So with you there, it is a scary proposition. It's an all time great matchup kind of for both sides. Like it really is. This says like we could see fireworks in this game, but it does feel risky to start Marv given the fact that we, we have no idea how this is going to impact him.
B
Correct.
A
He might be, you know, he, he might be limited. And I thought about that. Daniel, like this isn't exactly like Puka Nakua coming back from an injury where you're like, yeah, Puka when he plays is normally like, you know, 10 catches for 100 yards and a touchdown or close to it. So I feel you there.
B
Feels a little bit scarier there. By the way, I have him just outside the top 20, but just outside the top 20 field. And you already mentioned this. I won't do it again after this. But that's after CD Lamb, George Pickens, Amon Rod, JMO, Justin Jefferson, Terry McLaurin and Debo and Cortland Sutton were all pulled out from the Thursday games. Which means wide receiver 20 at this point was probably closer to wide receiver 28. We're almost 30 at the beginning of the week. So that's sort of where I feel with Marvin Harrison Jr. All right, so.
A
You asked which Cardinals wide receivers are we starting this week. I will counter with which Bucks wide receivers are we starting this week? Let's just go through the numbers. So Ameka abuka last week, one catch. Daniel one catch for 40 yards. So, yeah, I guess he got you five fantasy points. But it's clear his role has changed. This is, I would say a little bit less than a committee, but there's a lot of people involved. Five receivers played at least 25% of the snaps last week. None of them played more than 66% of the snaps. Emeka Abuka was right there in the middle. He played 56% of the snaps. So he's a part time player. Daniel. And he had two targets last week. He's super talented. He obviously, and this is a matchup doesn't scare me. Right. The Dolphins, not a defense that we're much intimidated by right. We saw them get carved by Joe Burrow last week and Aaron Rodgers week prior. That being said, just based off of the amount he is playing and the number of mouths to feed here, there's risk involved with all Bucs wide receivers. Chris Godwin played 64% of the snaps last week. He did find the end zone. I think the the answer, Daniel, is the same answer has been for like a decade now for the Bucks. If you're playing a Bucks wide receiver, it's Mike Evans, right, who played 66% of the snaps last week. That was the most of any Bucs wide receiver. And I don't know who's the best big playthrough of maybe the last decade, not just for the Bucks, but for the entire NFL. Evans is at least in the conversation, so we've seen him see plenty of work target wise in his two games back. Daniel I just think that if I really had to and I think the mindset I'm adopting for this week is just like who's the guy? It's like the process. Like who can you live with having a dud the most, you know, an all time great who's a Hall of Famer who's been good since coming back or a guy who seems to be trending downwards in Ameca Abuca? I feel more comfortable that if I'm going to get a seven point dud out of Mike Evans or Mecca Abuka, I'll be able to wrap my brain around it a whole lot more with Mike Evans. So I am if I have to start one, it's only Mike Evans.
B
Yep, I'm with you on that. I fully agree. Just for context, in a league I have to decide between a Mecca Abuka and Chimera DK and I don't even feel like it's that close right now. I'd almost rather like I just feel so much better in Chimray's target volume and the idea that he's just more involved right now. I mean forget the punt stuff, but he's just more involved in the offense. So I can't believe that. Here we are at the end of the season with how Ameca Abuka started and I'm saying in a championship I'm playing Chimray DK over him. It's unbelievable right now.
A
Yeah, pretty nuts. But DK's yardage upside has been way more volatile than a typical wide receiver one but he's probably a wide receiver one and might be a better bet to see five or six targets than.
B
Than Our guy Mac is I'm chasing the targets field. That's exactly what I'm doing. So let's Speaking of chasing, how about Amari and Hampton this week going up against the Houston Texans? Is it just an obvious that he's a must start because of how good he's been the last couple weeks he has been Kamani Vidal questionable for this game with a neck injury. We're going to see how that continues to play out as we get throughout the week. But last week he had 16 carries for 85 yards and a touchdown plus a reception for 10 yards. Sixteen and a half fantasy points and he's been really good honestly since returning. With the volume that he's been getting, it's clear that he's the number one back here. Even if Videl has been involved more on the field from a snap percentage here, you can just tell that this kid obviously has so much more juice. The problem here is the Texans because they're a really good run defense. Top 10 against the running backs this year. And so when you're looking at this situation with the way that the Chargers have played, I don't think you can just assume that the Chargers are going to go out there and light the world on fire. Their offense has been hit or miss, you know, depending on how certain games have been different. Sometimes they've been super into it and you see Justin Herbert playing really well. Other times it looks like a little bit of a slugfest out there. So I think for me the one thing that's been really frustrating actually if I can say this for Amarian Hampton, he was utilized as a receiver so much more before getting hurt. His last three games, six catches, five catches and six catches. His three games since returning from injury, two catches, one catch, one catch. So they just haven't utilized him the same way out of the backfield like they had at the beginning of the year. I would love to see that happen, although I don't think I can plan on it here this week. But I do feel like even against this Texans defense, Hampton is a must start probably with where the running back situation is. For me he's probably going to feel like a low end RB2 and I can't imagine sitting him, excuse me, after seeing what he's done since coming back, he is just clearly the number one back in that Chargers offense.
A
Last thing I'll add Daniel, is the Texans are awesome defensively as you noted. They're really scary against quarterbacks. Really scary as wide receivers. Ashton Jensey just went for nearly 32 against them last week. So we've seen them be a touch more vulnerable against the run. They have been against the pass and for receivers as well. We are awaiting more information here. By the time that you listen to this or watch this, we might have an update on Travion Henderson. He has been limited in two practices this week for the Patriots because of a concussion. So he is limited. He is practicing right. But he has hurdles to clear before Sunday to get through the concussion protocol. Patriots, as we know, are thin at running back. It's basically him and Stevenson that play every snap. Yeah, but if Treveon Henderson is out, Ramondre Stevenson is going to have a real hard time not getting into your lineups this weekend, Daniel, because he should play a ton of snaps, right? A ton. And Norandre, who we've talked about at length all season. Listen, is he perfect? No. That being said, the Jets 28th against running backs in terms of fantasy points allowed. Right. So it's a very good matchup. Bottom five, run defense. On top of that, Daniel, over the last six weeks, three separate running backs, including, by the way, Trayvon Henderson, have reached 30 or more fantasy points against the Jets. So the Patriots on Sunday, big favorites going down in New York. This is a team that's got a chance at the number one seed. All systems go for Drake. May I feel really good, though, about Treveon Henderson. I'm sorry, Ramondre Stevenson. If Trayvon Henderson is out as well, it would be very, very, very hard for me to not have him in there if Trayvon doesn't play. If Trayvon does play, there's still a chance for both of them to eat because of how bad the matchup is. But we lean towards Trayvon because as we know, he just needs one or two big runs a game to really cash in.
B
I think this is one of those interesting conversations because if you do have Ramon Dre in your squad field, you've likely not been starting him for many weeks in a row at this point. Right. You think you'd have probably another better option. And now you're at a point where it's win or go home. Week 17. But this matchup is too good. With the volume that he's potentially going to get, you might have to make a tough decision, you know, in your head where it's like, okay, I haven't been playing Ramandre Stevenson and I've got to choose between him and, you know, pick another low end RB2. Are you talking, you know, DeAndre Swift? Are you talking, you know, that I'll have to. I'll look at my rankings here because I don't have anything pulled up here. But I just think it's a really interesting conversation with like having reminder so much higher than what we have throughout this this season. Tyrone Tracy taking on the the Giants or yeah, you know. Yes, yeah, sorry, Raiders. He is on the Giants. He's on the Giants, in case you didn't know that. Field taken on the Raiders.
A
Yes, last I heard.
B
Yes, but. Or you know, there's a. There's just a handful of conversations I think you could have because you probably haven't been playing Ramon Ray Stevenson. You're going to have to make a choice this week.

You probably have been playing Wandell Robinson Field because he's so getting so much volume. Can you start him again this week? After last week's abysmal offensive output, he's been in that like wide receiver 2 range, which is crazy to say. Wanda Robinson isn't the name that you think of when you think of wide receiver two in fantasy football. Kind of what he's been for for your squad so far this year. He has been so good, so much volume 9th in the NFL and targets 7th in target since neighbors went down. It is unbelievable what he's been able to be, at least for fantasy managers that didn't expect him to be something with Jackson Dart under center. But last week was so bad. Jackson Dart had 33 passing yards. Wanda Robinson had three catches for 19 yards. This week it's a much better matchup against the Raiders. They've allowed the ninth most fantasy points to wide receivers. But there's a part of me that still doesn't know who Jackson Dart is as a quarterback right now. And when I'm starting Wandell Robinson, I've got him inside my top 20 of wide receivers this week. I, I feel like we're in it and that was before the Thursday Night Football game or games. Excuse me. I still feel like I feel a little bit nervous given what I saw from Jackson Dart last week. It looks like we've got a quarterback that is being told to play one way is trying to be able to help kind of figure out what kind of play he needs to have, you know, with utilizing his legs and all that stuff. And so I'm looking at Wandell Robinson still probably as a low end wide receiver too, or as a high end flex. But last week kind of made me a little bit nervous in spite of the fact that they take on the, the Raiders this week.
A
Dude, on paper it's a great matchup, right? You're saying to yourself like the Giants should be able to do whatever they want offensively because most teams should be able to do whatever they want offensively against the Raiders. I have no idea how this team is going to approach it. Daniel. Because you're right. I mean they took, they basically took Jackson Dart and handcuffed him last week, right? I mean they, they barely threw the ball. It was a bizarre game plan. The Giants would never concede this, and it's almost risky business to say this, but the Giants might be motivated to lose right now if they get the number one pick in the draft again, that's super valuable. Even though they don't need a quarterback and don't need a pass rusher. Daniel it allows them to turn the number one pick into more assets. If they trade down and this team stinks, they need more players. So I don't know how they're going to approach it. Both of these teams by the way should be very motivated to not win this game on Sunday because and especially the Raiders. Daniel I think it would be really detrimental for them to not win this game because if they don't have a top two pick. Daniel this ain't the year to have a pick three or later and need a quarterback and the Raiders desperately need a quarterback so they really should be motivated to get inside the top two.
B
Both for what it's worth, we both have Wandell Robinson Inside our top 13 of wide receivers after pulling people out.
A
So yeah, good matchup there. Yeah well that same game Daniel is this is the highest we've had Ashton Genti ranked in a while. Right. Some of that is probably motivated by the fact that he was amazing last week and reminded us all yeah this guy's sweet. He is so good but what a wonderful matchup and is again right. So the Giants are it's amazing those two teams that call New York home in terms of their not the city that is assigned to their actual name, not where they play their games. The Giants and Jets are both awful awful against running backs this year the Giants allow the second most fantasy points. Two opposing running backs this season they a little bit better a touch better of late for against some running backs like last week Aaron Jones led the vikings with just 11.3 fantasy points crossing Joe Corey crossing Mayor was under 16 and then Trey Henderson was actually under 12 against the Giants. But keep in mind this is the same team that is allowed this season. Jameer Gibbs 55 plus fantasy points Christian McCaffrey 34 plus Saquon Barkley 33 plus Javante Williams 25 and also Omari Hampton 27.5 so definitely a run defense that you could, you could see action action taking advantage of it would be a nice way for him to finish out the season that was been you know definitely uneven. Daniel but for sure I would say you know as we've we've thought about Genti most of the context of how many first round picks were worse investments I think he graduated from like it's obviously Malik Neighbors and Justin Jefferson in one category, Neighbors in a category, Jefferson in a different category and then I think it's probably Genti and Saquon kind of vying for that next spot there right where it's like not awful first round picks but also the guys that didn't carry you to a championship whereas a CMC or a PUKA might Very well. Carry you to a championship.
B
Yeah. I think with both of those guys, where I've settled with Genti and Saquon is they didn't deliver the production that you thought they were going to, but they also didn't just flat out bust. I mean, they were fine for the majority of the season. They just didn't give you what you had hoped you were. Now towards the second half, actually both of them have been pretty good towards the second half. You know what, why don't we just spin that ahead field, because there's a couple games I'd love to look at.
A
Yeah.
B
Here to kind of close things out. We're talking Bills and Eagles here. Are you fading anyone in this Bills and Eagles game? Because we have seen Saquon come on and looks so good down the stretch. Obviously, Buffalo is a really great defense to run against, but let's do this lineup lock thing that we were doing earlier at the show.
A
Yeah.
B
Looking at the Bills. Who are you definitely starting this week? Josh Allen.
A
Josh Allen. Yep. James Cook, Benito, Endless. Is there anybody else that you're definitely starting?
B
Nope, those are the two.
A
Okay. So we agree that we're starting both the quarterback and the running back. Every wide receiver and tight end to me is a dice roll. Daniels. So I would just leave them off off. All things being equal.
B
Agreed.
A
For the Eagles. Jalen hurts, good there.
B
Yes.
A
Saquon Barkley, good there.
B
Yes.
A
A.J. brown.
B
A.J. brown did not practice this week with a tooth injury.
A
Field dude's getting his wisdom teeth removed. I think he's gonna play Daniel. But, you know, those first couple days after the wisdom teeth are removed are a bit uncomfortable. Yeah. A great way to avoid overeating on Christmas is to have your wisdom teeth removed. So shout out to AJ for the strategy. There's.
B
Yeah.
A
Devonte Smith probably close.
B
Devonte Smith is a perennial flex option. Just for.
A
It's just every week he could go off for 8 for 157 in a touchdown. He also could go for 4 for 38. And then Dallas Goddard, I think, is in. I just want to note that both of these teams have been top six against quarterbacks. Meaning, like stingiest. Like they are hard to move the football against as a quarterback. I just think going into championship weekend, if Jalen hurts, is your. Is your qb like, are you really pivoting there? So I think that. But Saquon, Jalen, A.J. brown, Dallas Goddard, all pretty straightforward. To your point on Devonte, it's like you're kind of just principally in or out. You draft him to be. You probably draft them to be a wide receiver too. And then he ends up as your flex and you just live with that throughout the rest of the year. And then for Buffalo, if you start a Buffalo pass catcher, I want to know the calculus behind it because I don't have a strong reason to start any of them right now that I can pinpoint other than that Josh Allen's awesome and the Bills could score 35 points in any game. But it's hard for me to know. I mean, Clichir is the most likely for sure. Daniel. But even Shakir has, you know, a low ceiling compared to some of the other wide receivers that we're talking about as flex options.
B
Very definitely. He does. Very definitely. I actually have to make a decision in a championship. Excuse me, field where I have to choose between. Where I have to choose between Josh Allen and Brock as my gosh. Oh my gosh.
A
Daniel.
B
Because Brock Purdy's taken on the Bears and this might be the fantasy game of the week, as you had said in our show. Note here because Brock Purdy has been unbelievable. He scored 28 fantasy points in back to back weeks. It has a much better matchup. So let's Talk about this 49ers Bears game as well and kind of do the same thing here for the 49ers. Is it kind of as straightforward as it seems? You know, Brock Purdy start.
A
Yep, yep. Christian McCaffrey Start. George Kittle, if he plays. Yes. Obviously he's, he's iffy. It sounds like he's got a chance. He has missed practice so far this week. It's Friday morning. They'll practice probably in four or five hours from right. Right now. Daniel I wouldn't be surprised if George Kittle plays. He's George Kittle, A B. The Niners control their own destiny for the number one seed in the nfc, the Bears, by the way, Silva shot at the number one seed in the nfc. So both of these teams have much to play for. It's a Sunday night game. Spotlight will be on them. I wouldn't be surprised if Kittle plays, but obviously we'll, we'll have an update on that by the end of the day on Friday. Yep.
B
Yep. And then Juwan Jennings is the last one there because he's been the main pass catcher it feels like, but I feel like he's more in the flex conversation and less of a lineup lock for me in this one.
A
Yep. I think feel the same way there. Daniel Jennings has been really good of late, but remember, he had A big game last week with no Ricky Pierce hall who I think is going to play on Sunday benefit the Bears. Daniel Rubber Doomsday remains out of practice. So Rome probably not going to play, which is probably smart for the Bears. The question I think so. Caleb has a good matchup. Philip Rivers was awesome last Monday against this Niners defense. So you can move the ball against San Francisco. You can also run the ball. They didn't do it great last week with Jonathan Taylor, but you can run the ball against this Niners defense for sure. So I think that there is room for DeAndre Swift in lineups and then I think that DJ Moore is sort of in that territory with the acknowledgment that we are going to get Luther Burden back this week, most likely. And like DJ Moore, it was a slow burn last week, right? It was like whatever. End of the third quarter, G.G. moore had like four fantasy points. So I think that the Bears are kind of coin flippy. There's a. I just like this game. Even if you can't start. All these players just has a lot of fantasy potential to it, doesn't it?
B
It sure does. Feels like you could have a lot of scoring, a lot of fun with this one given what both of these defenses could be. Caleb Williams, Probably a top 12 quarterback if you're thinking about, you know, utilizing him or depending on where you're at if you're in a super flex league, definitely would be rolling him out there. DJ Moore is the hardest part for me field because if you watch that game last week and hopefully you didn't, but if you watch that game, it felt like almost all of his real production came on that one last throw that however long it was a 40 yards, 60 yards, however long that pass was in overtime and, and for that to be a touching, you know, when you score 21.9 points, but it feels like 12 of them come on one play and that one play is the very last play of the game. That doesn't give me the kind of hope that I had going into the game where we were just saying to ourselves, there's no Luther Burden, there's no Roma Dunes A. We're just gonna pepper DJ Moore with targets. It's going to be nice. He still only had seven targets. He still only had seven targets.
A
Yeah. Pretty crazy. Yeah.
B
This is one of those things that the Bears still got to figure out what they're going to do. But I. I believe that with where we're at, it kind of feels like we had just talked about Out. I'm starting Brock, starting CMC. If Kittle plays, I'm playing him. DeAndre Swift is definitely in there. I think DJ Moore, I have to play. Even if Luther Burden comes back because he still has this in his bag, he's got back to back games of 20 fantasy points. Even if I didn't like the way that it happened last week, he's still the guy that it feels like Caleb is. His big play upside. So.
A
Yep, I'd agree on that. Daniel. Kind of just a fun game though to wrap up the week this late, isn't it?
B
Yeah, it's going to be a big one.
A
Yeah, this can be a big one. Anything else burning your brain right now?
B
Honestly, not really. There's a lot that we have. I mean here's the tough, tough thing for this week. Three games on Thursday, two games on Saturday plus a full Sunday slate, plus a Monday slate. We are as kind of like we've got games in these like little like windows that we don't normally have. I feel like by the time we get to Sunday we're gonna have less people to be able to talk about. So it's been fun being able to have football all throughout the the week. You think we're going to be at the point now field where we're watching three football games on Christmas from here on out in perpetuity?
A
Wouldn't surprise me. It's been, you know, the one thing that Christmas they have to figure out is just that if the game, if Christmas is Tuesday, probably not. But you know, if it's Wednesday like it was last year, Thursday, this year, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Yeah, you're probably locked in there now if it's Monday, maybe they just do. Maybe they do two as opposed to three. But I would say get used to it. Daniel. I know that the NBA has a full slate on Christmas as well. The NFL doesn't seem to be particularly bothered by that. So we saw a lot of that yesterday. A lot of football yesterday. Wouldn't surprise me if that continues. But yeah, that's what we got. Daniel. I can't believe it's championship weekend already. And by the way, a couple notes here for those that are still watching. We have fantasy football now on Sunday obviously and next Sunday. So back to back fantasy football now we're on here Fantasy Focus Monday, Wednesday, Friday, next week as well, which will include some award handing out. We're going to hand out some awards next week for those that play through week 18. We're not going to disappear but we understand that a lot of people stand down after week 17 and they just move on to the next chapter of whatever's on their life palette. And it's been an unbelievable regular season in playoffs so far. Daniel, I'm pumped to see how this championship weekend unfolds.
B
Me too. Me too. Last thing I will add because you said do you have anything else? And I forgot to mention this. I meant to say it when we were talking about Ashton Genti earlier. Everyone should probably know this because it happened over the week, but in case for some reason you missed it, Brock Bowers is on IR will not be available. So just to make sure that, that you know, if you have Brock Bowers go out there and find someone else right now, a couple guys that you could even consider Hunter Henry taking on the jets if he's available in your league. Not, maybe not a bad option. AJ Barner has been doing some things with with the Seattle Seahawks. Again, if you're just trying to be able to find someone, those are some of the guys that we have inside the top 12 of the position. You could even maybe look at Michael Mayer, the guy who's replacing him. Although to be honest, I'd rather just have a tight end from an offense that's producing a little bit more than the Raiders rather than replace him with Michael Mayer.
A
Totally.
B
Yeah. So yeah, maybe Brenton Strange is out there, but go check out the waiver wire in case you need someone. But just make sure that, you know, if you got Brock Bowers, you're going to replace him with somebody else else this week.
A
Love it. We, we have a big again, Sunday will help you out with those last minute decisions as well. So appreciate everybody that understands our kind of hectic Christmas schedule here.
