Daniel Dopp
What's good, friends? Welcome into Fantasy Focus Football, presented by Little Caesars alongside Stefania Bell and Field Yates. My name is Daniel Dopp.
Field Yates
Hey, hey, hey, hey.
Daniel Dopp
Week four is in the books. I think that was for me. Yeah, I did a really good job opening the show.
Field Yates
Yeah.
Daniel Dopp
For you.
Field Yates
Or perhaps for Bo Nix.
Daniel Dopp
Oh, maybe for Bo Nicks. Sure.
Field Yates
Bo was excellent line last night. We'll dive into that breeze. Hall was solid. TUA was really sharp last night for Miami. Devon HN was excellent as well.
Daniel Dopp
Or maybe it was for Stefania's leather jacket. Stefania. Is that leather? Is that what it is?
Stefania Bell
Yes.
Daniel Dopp
Yeah, well, actually, faux leather. Faux leather, of course.
Field Yates
Actually, I was just guessing.
Stefania Bell
Yeah, no, it. It is. You know, some people call it vegan leather, some people call it, you know.
Daniel Dopp
Yeah.
Stefania Bell
Pleather.
Daniel Dopp
Well, what we know is that you. You're the stylist of the group. So obviously if you're wearing it, then we know that it is fashionable on this show.
Field Yates
I figured out who the applause are for.
Daniel Dopp
Who was it for?
Field Yates
Trophy Smack.
Daniel Dopp
Oh, that's who it is. Our friends over at Trophy Smack, head on over to trophy smack dot com. Use the promo code focus10 to be able to get a bunch of really fun stuff for your league at 10% off management. That's right. That, yeah. That belt would match your outfit, Stefan.
Field Yates
Yeah, absolutely.
Daniel Dopp
Absolutely. Well, listen, we've had some Monday night football games last night. You know, I thought about having a shot of Monday night Football and I said, make it a double. Bartender.
Field Yates
Hey.
Daniel Dopp
So we got two games last night. Let's dive into a couple of takeaways because we got a very big show planned for today. We're going to dive into the Week 5 waiver wire a as well as give you some injury updates and then a little game of panic or patience towards the end of the show on some guys that have been potentially underperforming so far to start the season. But let's start with a recap, starting with the jets and Dolphins first Monday Night Football Game. And let's look at this. Wow. My big field.
Field Yates
Awesome.
Daniel Dopp
Yeah, that's what I was going to say. My big takeaway. I wanted to know about Justin Fields coming back from that injury. He didn't look great before his concussion in week two in this game. He's got great legs. Like, that's the one thing to say. He actually didn't look poor passing the football. Wait, he's got good legs. Come on. I mean, I can say if another guy's got good legs.
Field Yates
Yeah, totally.
Daniel Dopp
But 20 for 27, 226 passing yards and a touchdown. But most importantly, seven rush attempts, 81 yards on the ground for a touchdown, 27.1 fantasy points. Has he cemented himself with this performance as a top 10, set it and forget it yet?
Field Yates
Yeah, he's probably in that category. I think the biggest question mark for Justin Fields, and I don't want this to come across the wrong way, it's.
Daniel Dopp
The Internet, so get ready for it.
Field Yates
I don't get the sense that this is imminent. I will say this, though. The jets were really, really bad for.
Daniel Dopp
Much of that game, most of it.
Field Yates
And when you're 04 and when your offense basically can only run the football, they did not trust Justin Fields to drive the ball down the field until late in the game when Miami was basically playing prevent defense. Yes. The only thing that I would say is, is it possible, possible that at some point Justin Fields gets yanked as the starter because they're owing four and they're one of the worst offenses in the NFL. Something to at least keep an eye on. But for right now, Justin Fields. Yes, very much in that top 10 conversation. We're going to have a lengthy conversation about Justin Fields this week because he draws the best matchup in all of fantasy football right now, which is the Dallas Cowboys. After taking advantage of a great matchup against the Dolphins with over 27 fantasy points. Justin was really good last night, but unfortunately, Stefania, the storyline of this game was who? Boy, we talk about some of those injuries, Malik Neighbors being one where you know it's bad when you see it. You knew when Tyreek Hill went down that it wasn't bad, but that it was awful.
Stefania Bell
Yeah, some things are harder to look at than others. And for people who just saw it happen in real time, I think it. It was a gut punch to anyone who's watching and a reminder that these injuries can be incredibly serious for these athletes. If you didn't see he was running to make a catch, out of bounds, had a defender behind him and as he was falling, planted his front foot, which was his left, and. And it just buckled. In a weird way, we often see the knee buckle towards the inside. This went towards the outside like a bow. And when he ended up on the ground after tumbling over, his foot and his leg were pointing about 90 degrees relative to where they should be. And I think one of the things is really hard for people who see it to process and why it affects you so deeply is because know the knee only bends in one plane. You, you, you bend it or you straighten it. Most of our joints move in three different planes. The knee really primarily moves in one. So when you see it rotated like that, your brain doesn't understand it because it doesn't see it. And in order for it to get there, it means a lot of damage happens along the way. They called it a knee dislocation, meaning the knee joint is out of position. But what you don't know at the time when you're watching it is what is the extent of the injury in order for that to happen, A lot of things get damaged. Ligaments, muscle, bone, cartilage. But the two main structures in the knee worry about the peroneal nerve and the popliteal artery. And you may have heard that they took him to a hospital immediately. The concern with the artery is if there is damage, you only have about six to eight hours to fix it before you have irreversible damage due to blood loss. So you have to get to a hospital to image the artery, make sure it's intact, et cetera. We won't know the full scope of his injuries this morning reported by Adam Schefter that as a torn ACL among other ligaments. Again, that's what I said. That happens with a knee dislocation. But he is expected to have surgery later today. Apparently. I actually take that as sort of a positive sign. Sometimes these surgeries are delayed. His season is over, and we will hope for the best. I wrote something. It's up on ESPN.com along with Marcel Luis Jacques, who covers the Dolphins for us, if you want to see. I gave a couple comps of people who've had knee dislocations and we've talked about them and the range of outcomes is vast. And at this point, because we don't know the details of the injury, we just can't even speculate on what his future might be. But for now, wish him well. It's a tough, tough injury to go through, and the Dolphins are going to have to find a way to move forward no Tyreek Hill for the rest of the year.
Daniel Dopp
All that sounds not fun at all. Fields okay, so Stefania gave us all of the medical stuff and everything that we need to know. Let's talk about for our game field. What does this mean for the Dolphins from a fantasy perspective?
Field Yates
Well, I tell you what, quickly before we get to what it means for the leftover Dolphins, I was, I was getting ahead on our we do a document each week about like things we want to talk about for the week ahead. And one of my talking points like midway through the first or maybe it was at some point before the injury took place was is Tyreek Hill back to being like a top eight wide receiver for fantasy? He had some juice. Guys like Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase. More on Chase in a moment. Go the other way. Tyree Kill looked excellent again last night prior to the injury. That of course is no longer the case. He is out. So Jalen Waddle stands to benefit as probably the most likely next man up. Obviously Waddle is an established fantasy player already. He was probably in your lineups as it were. He probably gets a little bit of a target boost on top of that. Out of nowhere. Darren Waller, who was retired last year, had four targets including three catches, two of which were for touchdowns, his first multi touchdown game in a long time. He had more touchdown catches in his debut game with the Dolphins and than he had in his entire season with the giants back in 2023. Am I totally sold that Darren Waller is now like a top 10 or 12 tight end. No, we've been fooled by tight ends plenty of times in the past. But they're going to need him. They're going to need more of Jalen Waddles. He gets a boost to probably around that top 15 to 20 wide receiver range and then somebody is going to have to step up. The name that I think you're going to hear the most buzz about today is Malik Washington. Is he in your waiver stuff for.
Daniel Dopp
Later or no, he is not. I would put him in the deeper league.
Field Yates
Yes. Because here's where I'm very curious on with Malik Washington. He's a pick, the fourth round pick last year.
Daniel Dopp
Yep.
Field Yates
Out of University of Virginia via Northwestern is a lot of the stuff that they have done with him up to this point reminds you a little bit of I'm trying to think of a good almost like you see how like the Broncos were using Marvin Mims for much of last night. It's like screens and design runs, not as much vertical and Marvin Mims has that in his back. He showed it more last year, but last night it was a lot of manufacturing touches for him. That's been a lot of how Miami has used Malik Washington up to this point, but they may need him and Nick Westbrook, Akine and other players to step up into a number two wide receiver role. But I would agree that other than Jalen Waddle and Darren Waller because of how desperate that tight end spot is, I don't know that anybody in that Dolphins offense right now becomes an auto start. Even a 12 team in, in, in.
Daniel Dopp
The dolphins pass catchers. Because Devanhein is an auto start. Yes, but he does count.
Field Yates
Yeah. So it's, it's. And but Tua played really well last night. The Dolphins kind of f found their offensive mojo. They were better in that regard. And you know, if ever you're going to turn your season around, it's not going to be easy given the fact that, you know, you have a terrible defense and you have no longer Tyreek Hill. But draw the Panthers this week, a Panthers team that just got waxed by the Patriots, whatever it was, 42 to 13. So Miami at least hopefully they can get on track with a second consecutive win and the offense should be able to move the ball. Based off how we saw New England move the ball this past Sunday, I.
Stefania Bell
Will say one thing about, I want to talk about Darren Waller just a little bit because remember he was injured coming into the season and this is a guy who was out of football obviously, so we didn't know what to expect at all. And what he did was he checked that box for me of like, okay, he's ready to play football. If you saw that catch on one of his touchdowns that he made in the end zone, that's something they didn't have like a big body presence who can basically out physical the next guy to catch a ball in the end zone. That's a, that's something that Tua can look to as a real positive takeaway from this. I don't know where his conditioning is on being able to stretch the field at all, but if you're going to tell me that he's going to get a 50% touchdown rate for targets. I mean for fantasy purposes, I take.
Daniel Dopp
He'S the next Mark Andrews. I'll sign up for that if that's.
Field Yates
I joked on social media that after scoring 17.7 fantasy points last night, Darren Waller is now the third highest scoring season. Yeah, I mean it's, it's, it's so desperate right now, it really is so, so desperate.
Stefania Bell
And so there may be a situation where, you know, he. He's not a bad option. As we get into bye weeks and they're streaming.
Field Yates
We have to be right y.
Stefania Bell
Exactly. Week five, here we are.
Field Yates
So, Gosh, this week we had no.
Stefania Bell
There are worse choices you could make.
Field Yates
Yeah. Yep. There's no Tucker Kraft this week. There is no Kyle Pitts. Kyle Pitts, who has, you know, been okay. At least. At the very least, been okay. Yep. So two tight ends that you probably would have thought coming into last night's were top 12. Ish options. Certainly the case of Kraft, not available this upcoming weekend. So Darren Waller is on the radar, but I think the story of last night was truly the second game.
Daniel Dopp
I was going to say the uniforms. Okay, let's move to the second game.
Field Yates
I have a hot take. I kind of like Miami's uniforms.
Daniel Dopp
I like them, too.
Field Yates
I like them, too. I love their. I love, love their aqua uniforms. They're one of my favorites in all of football. But I didn't mind those uniforms.
Daniel Dopp
No, I liked. I like the black. Like, it's got a. It's nice, sleek look. However, field, I agree with you. Bengals Broncos felt like it was the.
Field Yates
Game to talk about, so we gotta dive into it.
Daniel Dopp
Can I do the thing that, like, I've. I've dreaded doing up until this point? We're four weeks in. Yeah. And I think that I need to apologize to everybody, unfortunately, because I was so in on Chase Brown, and I just think Chase Brown is just.
Field Yates
Let's get this.
Daniel Dopp
This stuff out of sight like this. Like with Jake Browning under center, Chase Brown just has no juice in this offense. This offensive line is atrocious. If you looked up the definition of uninspired in the dictionary, it is a photo of this Bengals offense right now. It just looks awful with Jake Browning and if you used an early round pick on Jake, on Chase Brown because of me, on any of. Honestly, it's on any of them. But on Chase Brown, because I was so in. It's like, at this point, I don't know what to tell you.
Stefania Bell
Are you offering refunds?
Daniel Dopp
I wish that I could offer refunds. I would do whatever I could to be able to help the people out right now, but it has just been awful. And it's not just Chase Brown, although it has been really bad. But I'm worried about both Jamar Chase and T. Higgins, too.
Field Yates
The story of the night and Chase Brown. Accountability matters. I expressed my hesitation multiple times. You and Mike last Mike was. You know, a fan of the matchup. I wasn't quite certain that Chase Brown has the. The power to do it, and he certainly did not look like anywhere close to the player that Omarion Hampton or Jonathan Taylor was over the past couple of weeks against the Broncos. But we need to have a conversation about whether the number one player in fantasy football coming into this season is even a startable player anymore.
Daniel Dopp
It's a great question.
Field Yates
Here are 10 games, including last night's, for Jamar Chase, with Jake Browning playing all, if not many, of the snaps. Of course, Joe Burrow got hurt on two separate occasions. Jake Browning spelled him in each of those games. Uh, this. Gimme a minute here, because this is important.
Daniel Dopp
Got it.
Field Yates
Jamar chase in those 10 games, one catch, two yards, a receiving touchdown. That helps wide receiver 40 finish with 7.2 fantasy points.
Daniel Dopp
All right.
Field Yates
Four catches, 81 yards, 12.1 fantasy points, wide receiver 33. That's not bad compared to the rest of this list. All right, the good one was 11 catches, 149 yards and a touchdown. 31.9 fantasy points in week 13 of 20. 23. Wide receiver, six more of that the next four games. 3 for 29. Wide receiver 57. 4 for 64. Wide receiver 34. 3 for 41. Wide receiver 54. 4 for 19. Wide receiver 57. 10 for 128. Wide receiver 3. 5 for 50. Wide receiver 41. And last night, 4 for 23. Wide receiver 61.
Stefania Bell
Good thing there was that wide receiver 3 in there to bring it up.
Field Yates
Out of the 50s. 5 for 23. Excuse me there last night, but still. Wide receiver 61. So again, here's the positional finish in those 10 games with. With.
Daniel Dopp
With Brown.
Field Yates
Jake Brown. Excuse me. Wide receiver 40, wide receiver 33. Wide receiver 6. Wide receiver 57. Wide receiver 34. Wide receiver 54. Wide receiver 57. Wide receiver 3. Wide receiver 41. Wide receiver 61. In 80% of those games. Yeah. Jamar Chase is not even a flex.
Daniel Dopp
Nope.
Field Yates
The numbers are telling us. How do you rank Jamar Chase as a lock it in top 20 player? This has nothing, nothing, nothing to do with Jamar Chase. He is still as talented of receiver as the NFL has right now.
Stefania Bell
Oh, and the poor guy trying to answer questions afterward. And just like we have to find a way to get. You know, he's. He. He's trying to say all the right things, but he looks defeated. They all do quite.
Field Yates
They.
Stefania Bell
They.
Field Yates
I mean, they should. They're. They are now the first team since the 2009 then Oakland Raiders to go three out of four games to start the season with under 200 yards of total offense. They are cooked in the highest form. Needs to, I believe, make calls to anybody around the NFL that would consider moving off of one of their quarterbacks. You owe it to this roster. This is not a young team. Right. This is a veteran roster. That's some guys are in maybe the last year of being with Cincinnati that have been a part of a team that nearly won the Super Bowl a few years ago. So it is desperation time for Jamar Chase. My initial Week one, Excuse me, Week five ranks are in. I will give you a guess as to how high have Jamar Chase ranked wide receivers.
Daniel Dopp
Izzy, do you have him inside the top 15?
Field Yates
No. No.
Daniel Dopp
Do you have him inside the top 25?
Field Yates
No.
Daniel Dopp
Do you have him inside THE top 30?
Field Yates
I do. Yeah. Wide receiver 27 for Chase.
Daniel Dopp
Okay.
Field Yates

Field Yates
I'm Christian McCaffrey, pro running back and Abercrombie is an official fashion partner of the NFL. I'm not kidding when I say NFL by Abercrombie. Broke the Internet last year and I think this season's lineup is even cooler. And so does my wife, who keeps stealing all my hoodies. Stay fit for the season. And Abercrombie's newest arrivals shop NFL by Abercrombie in the app, online and in store.
Daniel Dopp
By the way, I started high to make the, you know, a little bit of success.
Stefania Bell
Yes to yeah, I wanted to build.
Daniel Dopp
I'm not Mike Clay, all right. I know how to be with a pro.
Field Yates
Keep this in mind. Available unavailable this week includes DK Metcalf.
Daniel Dopp
Yep.
Field Yates
DJ Moore.
Daniel Dopp
Yep.
Field Yates
Roma, Dunze, Drake London and I guess if you want to count a Packers wide receiver. But probably not, right?
Daniel Dopp
Yeah.
Field Yates
So it's desperate times right now for Jamar Chase and has again, it's nothing to do with him. The truth is that Jamar Chase is capable of a gigantic, gigantic outing. We saw that. Even I think I may have omitted what we saw earlier. Yeah, that's right. We did have this one. Week two of 2025, 10 for 120. Like obviously he has it within him to be a great player. With Jake Browning, the numbers suggest to us. And by the way, who do they play next weekend?
Daniel Dopp
The Detroit Lions.
Field Yates
Correct. And how's that defense?
Daniel Dopp
They are really good.
Field Yates
Ferocious.
Daniel Dopp
Little bit of banged up right now. DJ DJ Reed is going to not play. We'll see. Because I wanted to say this. Over the last two games, they've been outscored 76 to 13 13. They've scored 13 points over two games combined. The team they're about to play here in Week 5 has scored 120 points over the last three games.
Stefania Bell
And the whole reason you love them coming to the season was it was a high octane offense. You can't miss with any of their targets. Gotta believe that somebody can step up in any game. If it's not Jamar Chase, it's T. Higgins. The problem is it's nobody. Like there is no one who's working.
Daniel Dopp
In the favor too Right. Like they've gotta throw.
Stefania Bell
Gotta throw in the Lions. I mean, oh my go.
Field Yates
There's no bend in your auto starting. None. None. That's. If that sounds alarmist, I'm okay with it because 10 games in we have this sample.
Stefania Bell
If you watch the game, you see it's not like players dropping balls everywhere that it's inaccuracy, it's inefficiency, it's.
Daniel Dopp
I think any backup quarterback in the NFL could play as well as Jake Browning has played over the last two games. And if I'm the Bengals, like you said field I like, you're still 2 and 2.
Field Yates
Right.
Daniel Dopp
Your season actually isn't over yet.
Field Yates
Ravens are 1 and 3.
Daniel Dopp
Yes.
Field Yates
Texans are 1 and 3. They played the Ravens this weekend. Like the AFC has not been quite as top heavy as we thought it would be.
Daniel Dopp
So someone needs to be on the phone literally calling everybody, seeing anything that they can do.
Field Yates
Because at Randy Dalton, Gianni's, for Jameis or Russell Wilson.
Stefania Bell
That's why I was saying. I was just going to say Russell Wilson.
Field Yates
I don't think your cousins is. I don't think her cousins is as much. He's an upgrade, but yeah, it's not a dramatic upgrade. But still, the point is you got to make these phone calls right now on this game. Just to skim through on the Broncos side, to me, the most. Two things were most important. One, Bo, Knicks may have gotten his mojo back.
Stefania Bell
He was my takeaway. Remember going into the game, we all pick a thing we're looking for. Mine was Bonix looking for Bonix to step it up and looking for him to get back some rushing yards. He didn't really. He had one nice little scamper and he got a touchdown with his legs. Still would like to see more of him on the ground, but definitely a better performance by Bonix and he delivered for you on Fantasy Point.
Field Yates
And just the other thing that I think is notable in this game is J.K. dobbins becomes the first Broncos running back in 38 games to rush for over 100 yards. He looks solid. He also had 44% of the snaps. That's his lowest in four games so far this year. What I think is clear is that J.K. dobbins is still going to have a very solid rushing load week in and week out. But RJ Harvey had his best game of the season. His highest snap percentage, his most rushing attempts. He had a receiving touchdown as well. J.K. dobbins does not feel like he is threatened to lose that job right now because he's playing really well. I thought he ran awesome last night, the jk and he is superior by a lot as a pass protector. Joe and Troy talked about his past protection on the broadcast last night a lot, but I think it might be one of those where. And it's not. This is not David Montgomery and Jameer Gibbs where you can play both of them and like, be top 15 players.
Daniel Dopp
Sure.
Field Yates
But you might have like RB23 and JK Dobbins and RB27 with RJ Harvey if things keep moving towards where they were.
Daniel Dopp
Yeah.
Field Yates
Last night. Anyways, big night for the Broncos. Terrible night for the Bengals. I am sorry to our producer Tyler and all other Bengals fans out there who had to endure that.
Daniel Dopp
And I think I like Go Reds looking. Looking at Bo Nix, I'm not sure that other than Cortland Sutton, there's a wide receiver or just pass catcher in general. I like. I. I love the idea that Troy Franklin has been getting targets, but, like, I think I need to not make Troy Franklin a thing. Bonick threw the ball to nine different wide receivers. I know this is the thing. It's like this is an offense that kind of just spreads the ball around from a passing game perspective. Maybe rather than love anyone other than Cortland Sutton, I'm just back in on Bo Nicks with hopefully being a, like it, a better quarterback again. All right, let's dive quickly into our show league update as we close out week four. We had a very close matchup between our buddy Eric Moody and Jamar Mageddon, which is now a very unfortunate name, unfortunately, because it feels like it's Jamar Magedon for all Chase managers right now.
Field Yates
Really is.
Daniel Dopp
But Eric. Eric Moody got a big game from Bo Nix and Cortland Sutton to be able to take down our buddy Zach, one of our producers here. That was a huge one. Eric Moody finally being able to get some wins here. It's about time Eric Moody had something happen in this league.
Field Yates
Come on, Eric. Yeah, off to Schneider, as they say here.
Daniel Dopp
Little Brandon McManus action there too. You love that. So shout out to. Yeah, shout out to Eric Moody. We have a shot of the standings here. Just to see where everyone's at. I actually don't know if I want to see the standings. I'm not sure.
Stefania Bell
I know. I know where I am. I have had the worst off. Although this week.
Daniel Dopp
This week, Stefania, I got my first.
Field Yates
Point two and six.
Daniel Dopp
Look at that. Our all of everyone at least is on the board.
Stefania Bell
I have a top heavy I was, I was like the Bengals.
Daniel Dopp
Our producer Dave is 8 and O.
Field Yates
Yeah, Dave has a sensational.
Stefania Bell
Dave's got a wagon of a team.
Daniel Dopp
He really does.
Field Yates
Puka like it's like Puka and Quinton Johnson and maybe Jonathan Taylor too or something. It was. I mean it's just he had excellent draft.
Daniel Dopp
Oh, that's amazing.
Field Yates
You're better now congratulating you if for.
Stefania Bell
All of you who see. You know, when you get the fantasy app, it gives you the congratulations. My app is frozen on confetti for.
Field Yates
Me today and sign of how great you are.
Daniel Dopp
That's right.
Stefania Bell
You know what? I'm going to take that. Thank you ESPN fantasy app for making.
Daniel Dopp
Me Derek Henry, James Cook, Puka Nakua, Quinton Johnston, Roma Dunes A.
Field Yates
He nailed it.
Daniel Dopp
Now he does have Tyree Kill. This is going to be. One of those managers is going to have to figure out what they're going to do, but he's got a pretty.
Field Yates
Good roster kill with like, you know, whatever. Like, hey, here's some.
Stefania Bell
Somebody needs to expressly debt back down to earth.
Daniel Dopp
That's right. Yes.
Field Yates
You know, this is your opportunity to do it.
Daniel Dopp
Whoever plays him next week, that's gonna.
Stefania Bell
Be smoked me at the start I was week one. It put it set my team back emotionally.
Daniel Dopp
Yeah, that's what it is. Yes. We've been, we've been working out in the locker room. All right, let's dive into our week five waiver segment. We got bye weeks this week for the first time so far this year. Field already alluded to it, but I'm going to give you guys a quick list of all the players are going to be out this week. And if you hear any of these players that you roster, make sure you make other plans. The Atlanta Falcons, that means Bajan Drake, London and Kyle Pitts. The Chicago Bears, DeAndre Swift, Roma Dunze, DJ Moore and Caleb Williams. The Green Bay Packers, Josh Jacobs, Tucker Kraft, Jordan Love and all the wide receivers that you don't feel good starting. And then the Pittsburgh Steelers, which is DK Metcalf, Jalen Warren and probably not Kenny Gainwell. I'll talk about him in a little bit.
Field Yates
Kenny Gainwell, when Jalen Warren's not available, you definitely are missing, right?
Daniel Dopp
Yes, yes, yes. So let's dive in. Stefania, I'm going to ask you as I go along if there are any injury updates around the players that I'm talking about.
Field Yates
Once again, you're doing this like, hey, these are 10 team. You're starting with a 10 team.
Daniel Dopp
10 team. These are my priority target.
Field Yates
What size league you play in, you.
Daniel Dopp
Must have to put in a waiver.
Field Yates
If this player is available.
Daniel Dopp
There's one this week.
Field Yates
Okay. I, I, you know what Daniel? I, I, I do this as an exercise myself. Is like if I were having, if I had ownership of this segment, how many would I put into this category?
Daniel Dopp
How many would you with?
Field Yates
One?
Daniel Dopp
Yeah. For me maybe two.
Field Yates
But one for sure.
Daniel Dopp
One for sure. And for me, the priority ad this week is Woody Marks, correct?
Field Yates
Yeah.
Daniel Dopp
21 touches. Had four receptions on five targets last week or this week for 119 total yards and two touchdowns. 27.9 fantasy points. We've been waiting for a Texans running back to be able to emerge in this backfield. This is still a committee. This isn't. I don't believe Woody Marks backfield to himself. Nick Chubb is going to continue to exist here. But when you just watch these two guys like Woody Marks clearly has juice that Nick Chubb just doesn't have. And he's an excellent pass catcher which you've been telling us all throughout the draft season and everything that you did with the NFL draft like this is part of what he does. He is a really good pass catcher out of the backfield.
Field Yates
Yeah. And I, I talked about this yesterday, but when you're an offense that is totally stuck in the mud like the Texans were, especially for the first three weeks of the season, I get it. Nick Chubb's a veteran. I get it. Nick Chubb does some things pretty well. But you're searching for answers right now. That answer is playing Woody Marks more than you would have imagined you'd be comfortable with maybe two or three weeks ago if that's what it's going to take to get your season back on track. And by the way, for as ugly as it has been for the team so far, they win on Sunday against a banged up Ravens team. They could, could could be just a game back in the division as Jacksonville draws Kansas City. The Colts play the Raiders, but I do think Indianapolis takes care of business there.
Daniel Dopp
For what it's worth, the Baltimore Ravens have allowed the most fantasy points to running back so far this year and unfortunately Namde Matabuki has been put on IR for the rest of the season. Their big man in the middle. So things don't seem to be getting better for the Ravens defensive front from a rush stuffing perspective. So Woody Marks I think is going to be somewhere in the running back 20 to 25 range for me here in week five, taking on this Raven squad all Right. All right. I'm going to move to S now some deeper league or streaming targets again because we have bye weeks. I'm going to start with the tight end position and just go through position by position here. Okay. But at the tight end spot if you need somebody, it's Brenton Strange. For me, good rostered in 22.6% of leagues leads the Jaguars in targets, receptions, receiving yards and fantasy points. The Jaguars, not tight ends. Everyone on the Jaguars more than Brian Thomas Jr. And Travis Hunter.
Field Yates
Correct. He was my sleeper tight end coming into the season and the biggest piece of pushback was like how they have Brian Thomas Hunter. I had your answer right. Instead the problem was. Yeah, I was going to say I had it backwards unfortunately because I was hopeful that all those guys could have a decent year. The answer is that only one of those three is having a decent year. That being Brenton Strange.
Daniel Dopp
Don't love them playing the Chiefs on Monday Night Football. They've allowed the fourth fewest points to tight end so far this year. But I believe he'll be ranked as a top 10 to 12 tight end here in week five. Just given the state of the tight end position, I think if there was one other guy that was a, maybe a priority pickup for me but I still, I don't have him there. But knowing that Malik Neighbors is out with an acl, someone has got to catch passes. In this Giants receiving core, I'm going to default to Wandale Robinson rostered in 54% of leagues. Part of that is because last year he had 93 receptions. Now we turned that into an astronomical 699 receiving yards which is actually 75th out of 76. When you look at his points per target last year, like he is that weird high volume, low floor wide receiver.
Field Yates
Yeah.
Daniel Dopp
Because he's going to get a bunch of volume but he just doesn't turn it into like he's not a big air yards guy. He's really, he's. He's going to be like a catch near the line of scrimmage kind of guy. He's. He kind of moves the chains a little bit but he's, he's just not a big play target.
Field Yates
So, so I have a thought on this one here, Daniel. I agree he's. He's not an absolute mustad because I'm not sure anybody in this Giants offense.
Daniel Dopp
It doesn't feel like it now is.
Field Yates
Going to be a must start at pass catcher. Last week and we talked about this on Monday's show, Jackson Dart ran the Ball a lot.
Daniel Dopp
Yes, he did.
Field Yates
He also was contacted eight times while running the football, plus being sacked five times. That's a lot of hits. And I felt like and I said as much on the show. That was a kitchen sink game. Like we're doing something desperate and the best way to justify our decision is to do whatever it takes to win. And they won. Right. So they paid off. I do know though that like those hits take a toll on you in a hurry. He was tested Jackson Dart for a concussion. He hurt his hamstring at one point. I wonder if the Giants in week two of Jackson Dart starting and playing against a Saints team that the Giants can win this game. Like they can win this game. Make it two in a row. If you run a little bit less of Jackson Dart. Like you have to be protective of the kid going forward. And the reason why I mentioned that as it pertains to Wanda Robinson is oftentimes running quarterbacks. Their rushing attempts come at the cost of dump offs to running backs and designed wide receiver screens.
Daniel Dopp
Yep.
Field Yates
We talk about this with like AJ Brown. Think about Justin Fields last night, right? Like the jets that breeze hall ended up with a couple a few catches because they were playing from behind and they were running two minute drill for like the entire second half of the game.
Daniel Dopp
Yeah, yeah.
Field Yates
But like it's not like the jets are going to be heavily targeting the w the running backs with Justin Fields as we have seen throughout Justin Square. So if you're looking for some optimism with Wandell Robinson, that was kind of a long way of getting there. If the Giants decrease Jackson Darts rushing attempts, maybe that turns into more screens.
Daniel Dopp
Maybe would love to be able to see that. Cause that's what you're hoping for. You're going to in a points per reception league. You're honestly, if I get 7 for 44 from Wandell Robinson then I'll be like, hey, I just got 11 points. Great. Yes, I'm. And I'm good with that on bye weeks. That's what I would be adding Wanda Robinson. Robinson for the other guy there. Darius Slayton more the deep target. He'll have his boom weeks. But I, I don't feel good starting Darius Slayton.
Stefania Bell
No, but he's definitely like we saw a little bit this past week out of Darius Slayton and those are the moments where you get encouraged. But it's just all around. It's been sort of a w a weak wide receiver group for the last couple of years outside of Malik neighbors. So it's really hard to know what to project because now you've removed Malik Neighbors from the equation. It's been a quarterback carousel so to speak and just getting Jackson Dart in there. But I think Darius Slayton could be one of those random flexes that you have to insert maybe when you're if you got bye week and injuries. The problem is you're just not going to know when you're going to get the Darius Slayton week that's going to be valuable. I think the run game is going to factor in a lot here. I think they'll be able to run the ball against the Saints and basically control possession and that should help them have not have to worry about Jackson Dart trying to run the ball so much either Cam Scatter Boo yeah that's right. Why not big game predict from him.
Daniel Dopp
That same offense just to wrap it up with the Giants right now Obviously if you got if you waited for some reason and grabbed Caleb Williams or you're starting Jordan Love Jackson Dart I think is a guy that you could add as a potential streamer or like you know, mid to low end QB2 in a super flex or two quarterback league or if you're just in a deep league. Stefania Bell
We're in the same spot of really not knowing anything. I do think that the one thing that John Harbaugh really wanted to make clear, because there was a question of was this something where the score of the game dictated how they decided to use Lamar Jackson or not. And he got a little testy, pretty testy about that and was like, wanted to be clear. I mean, almost like he was basically making sure he had Lamar Jackson's back. Like, this is not a guy who wants to be on the sideline. He wants to compete. This was absolutely an injury situation where he was not going back into the game. And so he wanted to be very clear about that. But he really didn't have much to say about what that means going forward. So stay tuned.
Field Yates
I will just offer this, and I have no information. I just have common sense. Lamar was unable to return to that game no matter the circumstances that could suggest he might miss this week. That would be week five. Week six would also be in some level of peril. It's a hamstring. What's week seven? Ravens by week. If Lamar Jackson gets through the buy week four to week eight, that's four weeks is about a month for this hamstring to get right. If it's anything significant, we don't know. I'm just, you know, just putting that on the people's radar right now. The team is also one and three, I was gonna say, so the urgency high, but it's your best player. It's the NFL's. You know, it's a.
Stefania Bell
They're also a team that guys play. I mean, you know, some. There are some teams where you get the sense that they're a little more conservative and. And this is not one of those teams. Now. It doesn't mean if. If he's really hurt. Remember when he had the knee injury and that was instability. That that's very risky. That's why Jaden Daniels is not playing this. It's like you can't keep the, you know, the horses out of the barn. We know Lamar Jackson's going to run. You can't tell him, don't run. Like, just play, but be conservative in your running. That does Other things to a player. And when you're playing scared, that's when you're at the risk of getting hurt more. But I will tell you, if he's on the verge, whereas might. One team might say, you know what, we're going to wait another week.
Field Yates
Packers.
Stefania Bell
Yeah, packers might say, wait a week. Raven's gonna go, so stay tuned. They might rest him all through the week and just let him get some recovery with the goal of let's, you know, let's get you out there and see how you do.
Daniel Dopp
I have, I have a couple teams with Lamar Jackson and I think because of that, I am, yes, they are sad right now, but heading into today, I'm going to make sure that I find a spot on my roster to add what I think. If, if there's a quarterback that is of note on the waiver wire, I'm going to go out and add them this week. And if I feel like they're all just the same, then I'm not going to burn a waiver spot or waiver priority just to grab a guy. I'll wait and do that afterwards. But if there's someone of note, just to be safe, I'm going to make sure I have a second quarterback on my roster.
Field Yates
One more name that you'll see fairly high in the rankings this week because of the matchup is Bryce Young. Bryce was really disappointing last week. Bryce has struggled so far this year.
Daniel Dopp
But who do they play this week?
Field Yates
It's the Dolphins this afternoon weekend. So, you know, certainly a matchup that you feel like if ever there was a time for Bryce Young to get right, this is kind of a gut check weekend. By the way, for the Panthers, it's they're one and three. You know, they shut out the Falcons in week three and you're thinking to yourself, time for liftoff. And then they get blasted by the Patriots. Last week they're playing at home. Miami on the road. Short week. Like, can you take advantage of a Miami team that's also not going to have maybe it's best player and Tyreek Hill, like, yeah, if ever there was a time, excuse me, for the Panthers to put one together, this is it. Or else this season's going off. If it hasn't already, it's going off the rail. Agreed.
Daniel Dopp
Agree with you on that. All right, I got two more really quick and then, then we'll dive into a little bit of panic or patience. You may be asking yourself, do I don't understand. Why have you not mentioned two guys that both scored a Million fantasy points on Sunday and that's millions.
Field Yates
Sicilian.
Daniel Dopp
It's. You're right. And that's Kenny Gainwell who is rostered in 35.6% of leagues. Two things here. One, I don't really think it's sustainable when Jaylen Warren is healthy. I don't think that Candy Gainwell is going to be a guy. Right. So the other thing is they have a buy this week. So I got two weeks for Jaylen Warren to be able to come back and get healthy. Now, like I just said about Lamar, if you've got a roster spot on the end of your bench and you're like, you know what, I'm just sort of like churning through guys anyways. Absolutely. Throw Kenny Gainwell on the end of your bench and I think if anything ever happens, you at least feel like you have a starting running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers. But as long as Jalen Warren's healthy, I don't think Kenny Gainwell has any fantasy value to be in our lineups right now. So that's where I'm at on Kenny Gainwell in part because of the buy.
Stefania Bell
He doesn't have any this week.
Daniel Dopp
This week he definitively does not be in a buy. And the other one, Warren also, by.
Field Yates
The way, like we thought he was going to play, it was actually almost a surprise and active. So maybe that's. Maybe it suggests that he was close this fresh this week of. Of being able to stay fresh on week five probably gives him a decent chance of week six.
Daniel Dopp
Seems like it. It would seem.
Field Yates
One would think, yeah.
Daniel Dopp
Yeah. The other one who scored a million fantasy points because he got in the end zone three times is thank you to please keep doing that the entire time. Is Romeo Dobbs rostered in 36.7% of fantasy leagues? The hard part is I think that the packers have a gambling problem because they just play wide receiver roulette every single week.
Field Yates
Wow.
Daniel Dopp
Call Wayne 100 Gambler for if you're the Green Bay Packers. This week the wheel landed on Romeo Dobbs. But we have not seen this be proven to be sustainable long term. It's like this week is a Romeo Dobbs week. Next week it's going to be Dontavian wicks. The week after that, it's going to.
Stefania Bell
Be a little bit of golden every week. Yes. Like a. There's a teaser in there. There is some great play. And I'm like, like I see it. This is the week because it happens early in the game and then I'm like with the crickets trip Trip, I'm like, what is going on here?
Daniel Dopp
Picking the packers wide receiver that's going to go off is like hitting a three leg parlay at this point. You're. Even though it's only one person, but it feels like it's so difficult right now.
Field Yates
So random. Stash thought on Romeo Dobbs.
Daniel Dopp
Ooh, bring it. Stash is in. Like, you think he's worth adding to Stash on your bench?
Field Yates
No. Keep this just in mind. Dynasty leagues and he probably is rostered in most, if not all dynasty. But I wonder if there's a bit of a Jacobe Myers trajectory here. Jacoby played for the Patriots and was really good. I mean, it was rock solid. And that team was terrible at wide receiver and let him go in favor of juju Smith Schuster, a move that did not work out, obviously. But Jacoby went to the Raiders and has become an even better player, I would argue, and even a better fantasy player too, right? Agreed. Romeo Dobbs going to be a free agent after this year. The packers, of course, have a very expensive roster. They traded for Micah Parsons thinks they have a lot of wide receiver depth.
Stefania Bell
Depth.
Field Yates
I bet Romeo Dobbs will sign a contract in March where people are like, whoa, Maybe not the Christian Kirk contract where it was like, oh my goodness. But like Josh Palmer this offseason. That's like three for 36 for the Chargers. Third or fourth wide receiver. Really? And Darius Slayton gets three for 36. Like, is that guy even like a total rockstar starter? No. I bet Romeo Dobbs gets good money this off season and goes somewhere where he has a chance to really blossom into a much larger role. He'd be an interesting dynasty target for me if you can get them on the cheap, which you should be able to do in like three weeks from right now when he inevitably goes back to back games with three total catches.
Daniel Dopp
That's.
Field Yates
That's exactly three touchdowns.
Daniel Dopp
Right. And that's how this works. Right. It doesn't always feel great. So one other person or one other thing I would like to mention, we're in the streaming conversation now for defenses. If you still have the Arizona Cardinals out there available on the waiver wire, you know who they play this week.
Field Yates
Yeah. Tighten up.
Daniel Dopp
Tennessee Titans. The Titans have allowed opposing fantasy defenses to score 51 fantasy points. That is the most out of any team so far this year. So play all of your defenses against the Titans. If you are just sort of figuring out what you're doing at the defensive spot, throw a dart at the Arizona Cardinals.
Field Yates
Interesting ones this week. The Giants also in that category, where they draw the Saints or a few others that fit into that category as well.
Daniel Dopp
Stefania, that's waivers. But I do know that we have a couple more injuries that I feel like people need to be aware of. So you can give me a few updates on some injuries here.
Stefania Bell
Well, we, we're going to focus on the San Francisco 49ers because. Because we do every week, it seems, every day, because there are injuries that are abundant on that team. And this week they play on Thursday night. So that complicates the picture. Both Juwan Jennings and Ricky Piersol entered last week's game questionable because of injuries. Ricky Piero's knee, we talked about this yesterday, aggravated during the game, and Juwan Jennings picks up a new injury, a ribs injury. Both of them were listed as non participants in a practice that did not happen yesterday. Remember, short week. A lot of teams don't practice this at the start of the week because they're trying to allow their players to get ready. So really no indication. But you're definitely going to want to follow them because there's a chance that either or both of them might not be available. But also, you know, Brock Purdy, as you mentioned, looked a little bit off. He did apparently come into the facility the next day with some soreness in his toe. Now, when I saw that Kyle Shanahan had said that, the first thing I thought was that's also normal given the injury that he had and that he had missed a couple games. It was his first game back back. He said that Purdy had said that it did not bother him at all during the game. Maybe his mechanics were off a little bit. Shanahan defended a couple of the passes, saying one got tipped. And, you know, there were a couple other things factoring into it. But just pay attention if you have Brock Purdy because Mac Jones, who is the number two, had been. He dressed last week, but he had been banged up with the knee injury. He was listed as a full participant and Brock was listed as a non participant. So even though those are projections, if there's any thought that playing this soon could make Brock go backwards, they'll plug Mac Jones in. So keep an eye on all three of those guys going into Thursday night's game.
Daniel Dopp
Yeah, you love when you have these injuries heading into a Thursday night short week game. Right.
Stefania Bell
Especially, oh, who are we playing?
Field Yates
The Rams. The Rams, yeah. Game is in Los angeles, so the 49ers will fly down there on Wednesday. If anybody does not make the trip, they'll be declared out at that time. We shall see, though. Kyle Shanahan, tell you what, Kyle has like this disposition at the microphone where he always seems a little bit like down on his luck. But Kyle's pretty good about the injuries. He's usually, he's pretty honest. He's.
Stefania Bell
He's typically been pretty straightforward. He might not offer a lot of detail or there are times where he's specifically not going to say something.
Daniel Dopp
Kind of like last year when he told Jordan Mason he was going to start right before the season and didn't tell any of us that Christian McCaffrey wasn't going to play for no one to reopen that.
Field Yates
That wound. Right.
Daniel Dopp
Different one. Okay, sorry, sorry. I didn't mean to open that can of worms, guys. That's my.
Stefania Bell
What I will say they did talk, you know, while we're here on the 49ers. So people might be wondering, what about Brandon Auk floating over there in the, you know, 2026?
Daniel Dopp
He's still on the team.
Stefania Bell
Well, that was a joke. What I want to say is before the start of the season, there were a lot of people and I had said I wouldn't recommend drafting him because there's no guarantee you're going to be able to use him this season. And everybody was looking at this week six sort of target thing that had been floated out there week six to 10. And now you're hearing a lot more from John lynch when he's talked about it of like, we don' really know and there's not really a set timetable or a target. My suggestion to you would be try and find somebody who could be useful to you now because it's wide open as to when he comes back. And while it might help the 49ers, you don't know what he's going to be like when he does make it back. So even if he appears this season, he's not going to be the Brandon Iuk you were hoping for in fantasy right away. Look to next year, I'd be moving on. I'd be clearing up a roster spot, trying to find somebody else who can help you out.
Daniel Dopp
Yeah, gosh, I'll tell you what. One thing that I hate is starting players that have questionable health situations on a Thursday night game. Cause it's like, do I. Do I maybe have someone better on my bench? And if I do play them and they don't play well or they're on a snap count and then it's like I'm just staring at that number for the Next three days. It doesn't feel good. We'll continue to monitor that 49er situation as we get closer to Thursday Night Football. Quickly, before we go into panic or patience Fields, you said you had one, maybe two people that were priority ads. Woody Marks was one. Who would have been your second potential priority ad on the waiver wire this.
Field Yates
Week if there was a quarterback you felt strongly about because of all the injuries. If, like, I think if Lamar Purdy is out and you're gonna have to at least feel good about a. You have to make some sort of quarterback move.
Daniel Dopp
Bryce Young, Sam Darnold, Jackson dart. I mean, yes. Like, you know one of them.
Field Yates
Right. It's. It's less specific to a quarterback. It's more just the idea that there are a lot of quarterback question marks this week on top of the fact that there's no Caleb Williams, no Jordan Love, and that's it. Yeah. As far as quarterbacks, that we feel like our, our starters weekly with Aaron Rodgers being on the outside looking in there and saying, Michael Pennix Jr. Yeah.
Daniel Dopp
We'Re not there yet. All right, let's do a little panic or patience. We're four weeks into the season, guys, enough of a sample size to be able to figure out whether or not we still believe in a player or whether or not we are panicking on them field. I'm going to start with you.
Field Yates
Yeah.
Daniel Dopp
And we're going to start with King Derrick Henry.
Field Yates
Yeah. So I think that there, I think there can be three options here.
Daniel Dopp
It's called panic or patience. I don't know why you think there are three options.
Field Yates
It's, it's, it's. You can be panicked, but there can be nothing for you to do about it. Right. And that's the category that Derrick Henry fits into. And I would argue that panic with.
Daniel Dopp
An actionable and panic with no actionable. That's what you're saying.
Stefania Bell
Panic with pause.
Daniel Dopp
Yeah, I like that. Yeah.
Field Yates
This is probably the hardest category of a player to roster in fantasy football, where you just have to stick by the player.
Daniel Dopp
Yep.
Field Yates
You have to keep playing said player because you know his pedigree, you know his role, you know the upside. Derrick Henry was incredible in week one. He carved up the Bills defense. Now it's a tough matchup this weekend, especially if there's no, like, I know people say, like, no, Lamar Jackson probably means more volume for Derrick Henry. I would also argue that Lamar being on the field open opens things up for Derrick Henry and vice versa.
Daniel Dopp
Yes.
Field Yates
So the Texans are by far the Number one scoring defense in the NFL. They are four points per game, better than anybody else. It's a tough matchup for Derrick Henry. That being said, I have to remain patient. Like, what are you going to do? You're not sell low on Derrick Henry. Agreed. And we also might see Lamar this weekend. And we also could see Derrick Henry. I don't care if he's playing the 85 Bears. He's Derrick Henry. He could have 150 yards and two touchdowns anytime he plays the game. So I am remaining patient on Derrick Henry. I am going to continue to start him. He is outside my top 10 of running backs though, this week.
Daniel Dopp
Me as well, unfortunately. But I'm still starting him. He's Derek Henry. I got to have patience with him. Talk to me in like week eight, like, if, if we're still like having single digit performances like in, in, you know, two to three weeks from now.
Field Yates
Yeah.
Daniel Dopp
Then maybe I'll have a different conversation. It's like, did. Did Derek Henry fall off? Like, did we just watch the cliff happen right now? In.
Field Yates
You have to be confident that the Ravens are going to be playing from behind most weeks to not want to utilize Derrick Henry.
Daniel Dopp
If they're playing from behind. Right. Justice Hill is their guy.
Field Yates
Correct. Justice Hill is the passing down. That much is unequivocally clear.
Daniel Dopp
Yep. All right, Stefania, what about Kyler Murray? Was quarterback 17 in Week 4. He's averaging 15.6 fantasy points per game this season. He was drafted to be a top 10 quarterback.
Stefania Bell
Panic started really strong. I, I don't think I'd be panicking yet because Kyler Murray's still going to offer you more with his legs. And by the way, they're playing Tennessee this week. So I think that this is a good week for Kyler Murray. Played a tough Seattle defense last week. These NFC West Conference games are ugly. And sometimes things where you, you expect a player to be good, they're really not dead. That. That was going to be a tough matchup no matter what. Kyler Murray, I was just looking at where he ranks on the season. I think he's 1, 2, 3, 4, like outside 15. I can't count that far down.
Field Yates
Yes.
Daniel Dopp
Yeah, that's not great.
Stefania Bell
Like, yeah, it's not great, but I'm looking at like, so who, you know, who's available? Like, if you said, I want to have someone who's played better than him. Are any of them available? Most of them are not going to be available for you. You know who's ahead of him right now? Though this shot, Matthew Stafford, who by the way is probably going to have another good game this Thursday against the 49ers. Your boy Jared Goff, which he never gets the credit I.
Daniel Dopp
But taking on the Bengals this week.
Stefania Bell
The offense going against the Bengals, maybe you can get, you can pick up Jared Goff. Bo Nicks just edged out Kyler Murray this week. After that game, Caleb Williams might be somebody who's available for you depending on the league that you play in. And Kaylin Williams right now is playing as a top 10 quarterback. So there are some options. I am not panicked on Kyler Murray and I think there are some good matchups, but I think if you're in a 10 team league and you have the opportunity to stream quarterbacks for matchups, you may just want to look at that and make a decision.
Field Yates
I will be panicked if he does not pay off this weekend and I think that when I. Because it's a great matchup. It's an incredible matchup against the Titans. What is Kyler Murray as a player?
Daniel Dopp
It's a great question.
Stefania Bell
He's an enigma.
Field Yates
Is he great? Enigma's a good answer.
Daniel Dopp
I think Kyler Murray is a good rushing quarterback, but I don't think he's elite like any of the other rushing quarterbacks we have in the NFL.
Field Yates
We keep saying that like 18 or at least you and I agree that 18 is the passable number for a quarterback.
Daniel Dopp
That's my line.
Field Yates
In a game this year he has reached 18 once he got to 18.32. Otherwise 16.1, 14 and 14.06 fantasy points for Kyler.
Daniel Dopp
But you, you love his rushing volume. This is the thing that's so confusing. If I told you like 7 carries for 38, 7 carries for 32, 6 carries for 37, 5 for 41. Like I'd love to have him get in the end zone but he's actually like rushing. Okay, he's giving you fine.
Field Yates
Yeah. I think my, my takeaway in all this is a, I don't know that Kyler is the kind of guy that we're going to be looking as like a building block of a fantasy offense going forward. B is we think back to the pre draft process or preseason process with drafting. Maybe that middle tier of quarterbacks ended up being the wrong tier and the right tier was actually the third tier.
Daniel Dopp
The tier right after them. Yeah.
Field Yates
The Drake May, Caleb Williams, Justin Herbert tier.
Daniel Dopp
Yep.
Field Yates
Now JJ McCarthy was in that as well. That didn't work out well. But think about the guys that were in that second tier Bo Nix, who until last night was bad.
Daniel Dopp
Yep.
Field Yates
Baker Mayfield's been really solid so far this season. He's paid off. Brock Purdy Brock obviously has missed two games, but otherwise he's been just okay. Not, not great.
Daniel Dopp
At least Patrick Mahomes has been buoyed by fake rushing, I believe.
Field Yates
And Mahomes was a little bit ahead of those guys in terms of ADP as well. But Kyler Murray, like it's been kind of a rough go for that middle tier relative to expectations.
Daniel Dopp
Yep. I'm a little more panicked only because I've rostered Kyler Murray in a handful of leagues. So it's kind of personal to me. But I would love to see the passing game get more like with how much he's running.
Stefania Bell
I need him to drafting him originally thinking okay, Marvin Harrison Jr. This is because we all thought maybe this is the, you know, we're going to get The Marvin Harrison Jr. That you expected. We knew Trey McBride and his productivity. So even though he didn't have a ton of pass catchers that he was looking to between dropping off the ball to James Connor who is now no longer there to help him out and the uptick in what we thought Marvin Harrison Jr's performance would be, I think think that's where the rationale for putting him in that plus another year removed from the ACL and he's running better. The running part is true and I do think he looks more confident and he's willing to run the ball more. But the passing game just hasn't been there to totally support it and when he feels pressured it it kind of falls apart a little bit more. That's why I want to see how he does against Tennessee. Seattle was a tough one to drop.
Field Yates
I think Arizona is a sneaky quarterback shopping team this offseason season. Let's move forward though.
Daniel Dopp
Interesting. Well, you want to unpack that a little bit or we'll just leave that there. We'll come back to that.
Field Yates
I think has one more year of guaranteed money beyond this off season or beyond this season, I should say. And you can make the case that Arizona has sort of plateaued. Right. I mean they're two and two. The division is excellent. Of the only team that's not three and one in the division. If they finish third or fourth in the division, I think there's going to be some questions about whether things are kind of tapped with this player under center.
Daniel Dopp
All right, let's dive into the next one here and that is TJ Hawkins in My Little Brother unfortunately, 7.6 fantasy points per game this season. And if you're asking me, I am panicked about this situation. I'm panicked because we are asking you. It feels. Thank you, Stefania. I appreciate that. It feels like couple things here. One quarterback situation doesn't feel like it's getting better. I realize we got a bunch of garbage time from Carson Wentz. Like, we love that on the stat sheet at the end of the day, but it doesn't give me confidence in like, the team, you know what I mean? So that doesn't feel great. Also, we just added Jordan Addison back. I mean, the first couple weeks he wasn't even fighting for targets with their number two pass catcher and it felt like he still wasn't getting it done from that perspective. He's never topped six targets so far this year, which is well below what his career average is. He just doesn't look like not only a priority target in this offense, but he's at a position that is just devoid of talent for us in fantasy football. He's no longer even a premium tight end option.
Stefania Bell
Here comes the question. What do you do? Do where? I mean, where. What are your choices? Where are you going with that?
Field Yates
I actually have. Let me, let me.
Daniel Dopp
I think I've got him just outside my top 10 this week. Just outside my top 10 of the tight end position.
Field Yates
That's kind of the rub there is. I do have a league where I've got Hawkinson as my tight end and I have somebody else that I can replace Hawkinson with. And I'm trying to think, because this comes back to what I was saying with the very beginning of this segment is, okay, you're disappointed in the player but, like, what are you going to do about it? And for me, like, if you, who double dipped at tight end for some reason in the draft process and you grabbed a guy like Jake Ferguson, obviously it's a win, right? Joanne Johnson has been probably the best waiver wire ad amongst tight ends.
Daniel Dopp
I would agree.
Field Yates
But even he had a quieter day this past Sunday.
Daniel Dopp
For the Saints, Hunter Henry and Tucker Craft, there's a good example. Jalen Warren, like, all these guys are guys that probably weren't Strange. Tyler Warren. Did I say Jalen Warren?
Field Yates
Those guys were all drafted. I mean, or maybe not Hunter Henry, but like, yeah, if there was a Brenton Strange, then yes, I would prefer him over TJ Hawkinson. He has not fallen outside my top 12 in tight end rankings, which is in part because of the next player, maybe the final player we have in this Category Daniel, not the final one.
Daniel Dopp
We got two, three more. But we got one more tight end.
Field Yates
But it's David and Joku.
Daniel Dopp
Dude, that's even worse.
Field Yates
Is he just straight droppable? Pull up in Joku right now if you can and tell me his best game in terms of catches, yards or targets.
Daniel Dopp
Okay.
Field Yates
Cancer is not going to be pretty.
Daniel Dopp
Best game as far as catches was week three. He had five for 40 on seven targets. That's his best game so far this year for nine fantasy points is the best.
Field Yates
Now we have an obvious reason behind this. Two obvious reasons. One, the Browns they might be as good on offense as the Bengals are not good. Two, we have a rookie, Harold Fannin Jr. Who is basically taking up half the opportunities for David and Joku.
Daniel Dopp
Yep.
Field Yates
So he. I mean he and Joku is not in my top 12. He's not my top 15 either. He is a more panic player than TJ Hawkinson for me because there's such a clear and obvious player at the same spot taking away his worth. But in Joku. Yes. You should not be starting David and Joku here.
Daniel Dopp
David and joku averaged 13 and a half fantasy points per game last year. Right now in Joku and Harold Fannin combined are just over 14. So it's like. It just kind of feels like Harold Fannin just sort of like took half of this role and isn't going to relinquish it in this offense.
Field Yates
So I would agree.
Daniel Dopp
Unfortunately if you have to drop them.
Stefania Bell
You can fan and junior ahead of TJ Hawkinson on this season.
Daniel Dopp
It's ridiculous.
Stefania Bell
Barely tight end.
Field Yates
Yeah.
Daniel Dopp
It's been disgusting looking at the tight end spot. It's so.
Stefania Bell
I think that's it. You know it. I always smiling as you were talking about TJ Hawkinson because I think. And we'll see how the season plays out. We got to get JJ McCarthy back before we know but he, you know, JJ McCarthy misses whatever. It's going to end up being four weeks, six weeks because of his high ankle sprain if he comes back. He was not admittedly not great in the. In the start of the season. There's some growing pains there. But we know that Kevin OConnell is committed to his quarterbacks and let's just say JJ McCarthy starts to develop into what we hoped he would be when we were talking about him in the preseason. If that evolution happens, we're. We're really only at week five. Look at the back half of the season and what T.J. hawkinson could be. I. I'm. You know, not that I want to carry TJ Hawkinson around on my roster and wait for week 9, 10, 11, but I'm just saying that there he might be a back half of the season value and then we'll look back in the year and go, he was terrible in the beginning and all of a sudden he was much, much better.
Daniel Dopp
My hope was that last year, like the reason why I was in on him from a draft perspective this year is that he got to play the back half of last season and he wasn't fully there. But now starting this year, all right, he's going to be fully ran.
Stefania Bell
That's him.
Daniel Dopp
You're right. There's the offense, the part that where.
Stefania Bell
You have to have a quarterback throwing.
Daniel Dopp
Can you believe that this vikings team was 14 and three last year when you've watched them play their first three games, four games.
Field Yates
I cannot.
Daniel Dopp
It's unbelievable.
Field Yates
I don't think the eye test has been great to TJ so far this year either. He looks, does not look like the same player he was prior to the injury. Yeah, I don't know if that's related to the injury or just sort of, you know, the body eventually is not the same peak performance it was previously. But they have not been targeting him much like first read targets for TJ Hawkinson have not been great and I just looks fine. He does not look like the game changing tight end for a long time was. Which stinks.
Daniel Dopp
All right, let's dive into two quick wide receivers here before we wrap this up. Travis Hunter average. Excuse me, scored 7.2 fantasy points in week four half. Hasn't cracked the 10 so far this season. Not the top 10, just the 10 fantasy points it needs to get into double digits. Under 10 fantasy points in four straight games to start the season. What are we doing? Like this kid right now at least feels like he needs to be on benches, nowhere near starting lineups. Do you think that he's droppable? If you need someone once we're getting into these waiver weeks or the, excuse me, bye weeks.
Field Yates
Yes, he's droppable.
Daniel Dopp
Okay.
Field Yates
He is. I mean period, point blank. Because maybe this is the worst case scenario, how they utilize him, which, which is a little bit on defense, little bit on offense.
Daniel Dopp
Yeah.
Field Yates
Some weeks it changes. Right. So useless. And by the way, I was talking about how the Texans get a little spark from Woody Marks.
Daniel Dopp
Yep.
Field Yates
They finally feel good about themselves. Maybe they'll play them more. Jaguars are 3 and 1. I don't think Liam Cohen is saying. Yeah, you know, we're three and one. We're playing awesome right now. Let's change things up dramatically with Travis Hunter. They probably feel like everything they're doing is right according to plan.
Daniel Dopp
Can I. This is. And I think I missed this over the weekend. Weekend. But apparently there was a dust up between him and Robert Salah because of some sign stealing stuff. Salah. Sorry, did I say Salah?
Stefania Bell
Yeah, it's. It was a comment that Salah made about. He was talking about what they do and he was. He's called it legal sign stealing. So it's like the legal tampering period properly. But he, he, he used the word sign stealing, which may be not the best choice of words. But what happened was after the game, Liam Cohen said some NSFW language to him.
Daniel Dopp
Gotcha.
Stefania Bell
Which Robert Sala responded with equally NSFW language. And they had to be restrained. I don't know. I don't care what you think. I'm not saying Liam Cohen had some protection around him. I'm not saying that to Robert. Sally, have you seen that guy?
Daniel Dopp
He's a big. He's a big dude. He's a big dude. Yeah.
Stefania Bell
Yeah. So anyway, that was the dust up and both. Both trying to minimize.
Daniel Dopp
It's so weird.
Field Yates
My favorite part about it has actually been Kyle Shanahan's response because Liam was very animated. Robert sort of got animated animated in reaction to Liam Cohen's animated personality. And Kyle Shanian was asked about it after the game and he was like, yeah, I saw it. I'm sure you guys are going to ask about it. He's like, honestly, Liam, just like, don't be so sensitive. And then a day later, a day later, he was asked about it again. And he was like, yeah, like someone like, did you have a chance to like review the video? And he was like, yeah. He's like, yeah, you know, obviously we want to make sure we're respectful heat of the moment. He's like, like. But again, Liam, like, don't be so sensitive.
Daniel Dopp
Doubles down on it.
Field Yates
Yeah. I'm like, this is great.
Stefania Bell
It's like his subtle way of saying I got his back.
Daniel Dopp
That's amazing too that this team can be three in one when nothing seems like it's going right.
Stefania Bell
They don't look like a three in one.
Daniel Dopp
No, they look like the body. The Jaguars.
Field Yates
What's right, the defense.
Daniel Dopp
That's it.
Stefania Bell
That I'm well aware, acutely aware of.
Daniel Dopp
How we play fantasy football. Though field, we want the offensive side but they off.
Stefania Bell
That's why it's Hard to believe they're three and one and yes it is because the defense but they still body language, the way the ball's being distributed, the frustrations with Trevor Lawrence I. I don't think they look like a. A team that is crushing it.
Daniel Dopp
I am with you on that. Another team that is not crushing it is the Tennessee Titans. The only pass catcher that feels like.
Stefania Bell
Had his assessment summed up in two words.
Daniel Dopp
It was. It was bad. Tennessee Titans have just not been good so far. Calvin Ridley averaging six fantasy points per game this season. I'm going to say that I have patience. Did you say panic?
Field Yates
Ah, go for it though. You can have him. It's all yours.
Daniel Dopp
So this is the reason why and you can tell me I'm totally crazy. Calvin Ridley was already drafted as a lowend flex or first wide receiver off the bench. For him to be on my bench when he was already drafted as a bench consideration. He started the season out basically starting against every premier corner that he could with the opposite team. Like he's been on the shadow report for Mike every week so far this year. I don't believe this offense is just magically going to turn things around. If you've watched the Titans there's enough there to know like there's a reason why they had the number one overall pick. But if there is a chance that with Calvin Ridley like where I drafted him I don't feel like I'm panicked because I didn't have like an early round investment like I had in Derrick Henry or like I potentially had in one of these other guys like it. I drafted him to be a low end bench guy or excuse me a low end flex player or a bench guy. I think that's kind of where he.
Field Yates
Is is fine by me. I'm panicked. I mean I just. I this offense will. It can't get worse. You say that confidence going to get much better. The target share is fine but the catch percentage is very low right now. I'll say it again. I believe I'd rather have Alec Ao Manor.
Daniel Dopp
I agree with he needs to be.
Field Yates
On rosters of tight end of Titans wide receivers. I prefer Ellok Ao Manor. I will throw Ridley once again into the could he be traded at some point candidate bucket. If that happens the elder look would.
Daniel Dopp
Change can we have and that's going to do it for Panicker Patience. I just want to open up one bit of like conversation just talking about trading wide receivers. Do you think that there's any chance that the Chicago Bears move DJ Moore this year? With how things have worked out?
Field Yates
No, I don't think so. I mean, they're. They're 2 and 2 right now. They're going into their buy and if they're. The trade deadline is relatively soon. It's four weeks from now. Basically, the Bears have to go like, oh, and four to consider doing something like that. If they're five, still think they're.
Daniel Dopp
They've got a. I mean, if they're.
Field Yates
Five and three, watch trade.
Daniel Dopp
DJ they paid him a boatload of money to. Not really.
Field Yates
He's a player. Like, he's a number two wide receiver for them. That's a valuable position. If Luther Burden were ready right now, he'd be playing as their wide receiver. Three, he's not ready yet. So I don't believe DJ Moore is going to be traded this season. Now talk to me after the season. Maybe Luther Burden comes on strong down the stretch and they get enough from him that they're ready to elevate him to that wide receiver two role. I don't believe D.J. moore is going to be traded, though.
Daniel Dopp
Does D.J. moore want to be traded?
Field Yates
I don't think. I mean, him and Caleb have been like, say whatever you want about the Bears.
Daniel Dopp
I do.
Field Yates
I know.
Daniel Dopp
Yeah, I do. Trust me.
Field Yates
This Bears team is fully bought into Ben Johnson. There is a much stronger elevate, like a much more mature Bears group this year. The judge about body language from the Jaguars, it wasn't good last year. From Caleb, it's been excellent this year. Very, very impressed by the intangibles that Caleb Williams has shown so far this season.
Daniel Dopp
Five targets, six targets. Five targets and five targets. He has one game over 10 fantasy points. Like, he's just not, like, utilized in this offense the way that I think he was last year. And. And it's. It's just a question. Just a question.
Field Yates
I don't think he's gonna trade it.
Daniel Dopp
All right. Yeah, that's fair.
Field Yates
But I have other players like Calvin Ridley that would come to mind.
Daniel Dopp
That come to mind for that. All right, that's gonna do it. For our Tuesday show of Fantasy Focus presented by Little Caesars.
