Welcome into Fantasy Focus Football presented by Little Caesars alongside Stefania bell and field G8. My name is Daniel Dopp here to be able to recap everything that was week nine. We've got a Monday Night Football recap. Gonna bring. Got a bunch of other waiver wire stuff we're gonna bring to the table, but I wanna ask you guys a quick question first.
B
All right.
A
You both look great today.
B
Oh, thank you.
A
You look well rested. You're both very attractive people. You're dressed nice. All the things I mean, you look good. So I say that because we just had a couple days ago on Sunday, the fallback period, where we got a little bit of extra sleep because of that. Now I have been loving it because we've had some late nights watching football. I love being able to get that extra hour. I was gonna ask and Stefania, this doesn't really relate to you. It really more relates to field.
B
Field.
A
When you've got two young daughters, do they get it or do they still wake up at the same time? And you're like, why did I not get my extra hour of sleep right?
B
My kids did not get it on Sunday morning. Sadly, I get it now two days later, a little bit like they're starting to pick it up a little bit. I actually. But I got a hall pass of sorts. My wife Chapin went back to Massachusetts. She stayed with my mom on Saturday night because she went to watch Boston College. And at her nameplay, she went to.
A
Boston College, of course.
B
And she brought the girls to stay with grandma for the night. So I don't.
C
Woohoo. Bachelor night.
B
I didn't know what to do myself. I was like, what on earth do I do? I was like, I have no responsibility besides me and the dog. I was like, this is.
A
I am just picturing Kevin from home alone. And you're doing all the things right now. You got ice cream, you're eating waffles for dinner, all the stuff.
B
Yeah, it was quite a night. So. Yeah. But my kids are not doing A whole lot. A couple days that are. They're okay. My older slept in a little bit this morning, but, you know, it always seems like one of the two of them is gonna be upright and early. And I am an early bird myself, and my kids recognize I'm an early bird. So my older is big enough to get herself out of bed. My younger is not. She needs to be picked up from a crib. She's only two, but to be fair.
C
I need that too.
A
Yeah, I would love that. That sounds great.
C
I'm with her. I'm not an early bird.
B
And, you know, she also screams daddy in the morning. Like, she goes daddy. Which. Which is very sweet. It's just sometimes I'm like, do this again in an hour and we'll be. That's fair, anyways.
A
Yes, that's fair. All right, well, let's dive in. We got a today as we talked about and a quick little bit of love to our friends over at Trophy smack. Head to trophysmac.com use the promo code focus10 to be able to get 10% off your order over at Trophy Smack, whether it's a belt or a chain or a number of the things that they have over there. B
And by the way, sell Jacoby Brissette jerseys there.
A
They probably should right now with the way things have been going. Shout out to our buddy Eric Moody, who is also in our YouTube chat. Come hang out in our YouTube chat if you want to ask some questions. We'd love to be able to talk with you in there. Follow Eric on social media. Rickandmoodie and let dive in to our Monday Night Football recap. Cardinals at the Cowboys. I gotta tell you, we all took the Dallas Cowboys in this one and.
B
Pretty definitively they confidently advanced.
A
Yes, we did. Did not work out that way. I gotta listen. I have one major takeaway and I'm sure that we all have the same takeaway. It stems from the same piece.
B
Yeah.
A
But Jacoby Brissette has unlocked this Cardinals offense not just in real life, but for us in fantasy football as well.
B
Yeah. So last night, Marvin Harrison Jr. Had a career high in catches. Yes. He had this amazing touchdown. Did Marvin. And people are like, it was a one yard touchdown. How amazing was it? Go back and watch the routes completely shook. Duron Bland left him basically on the ground falling over. Because of the route that Marvin Harrison Jr. Ran. It was the most of a most, I think, obvious reminder of why the Cardinals took him fourth overall. It actually happened from the jump as well, he had three targets on the opening drive that had never happened to Marvin Harrison Jr. In his race relatively brief career. Marvin Harrison Jr looked excellent. The Cardinals go on a buy this week, but if Jacoby Brissette and was aided by the Cowboys defense. To be very clear, if Jacoby Brissette remains the starter going forward and we'll talk about that in just a moment. I think we all agree we like the outlook for Marvin Harrison Jr.
A
Better. Yes.
B
Okay. We agree on that.
A
Right to the moon.
C
Totally agree.
A
Yes.
B
And I think we all agree that despite the fact that Jonathan Gannon, the Cardinals head coach, said after the game last night that nothing has changed in regards to Kyler Murray being the starting quarterback when he's fully healthy, it's pretty difficult for us to imagine that when they play again in week 11, Jacoby Brissette's not the starter.
C
Well, I have to give Gannon out here of like who wants to drop that right before you go into a buy and then you know, just kind of let it go because people then leave you alone right on bye week. You don't really media is not paying as much attention. There's not prep for another week. They get to kind of be quiet in house and kind of let things play out. But we talked a little bit about this yesterday that here's Kyler Murray going home to Texas where he's from all the you would think the game was made Taylor made for him and it sounds like it is a comfort level from him about the foot issue. Not a medical you can't play but more does he feel comfortable doing Kyler Murray things. And you know I'm all about the athlete needs to feel like they they do that they can play their game their style. So it's hard because we are not in those shoes. But when you are read body language and tea leaves and all of the things if you saw Trey McBride in his interview afterward with Scott Van Pelt talking about the leader that Jacoby Brissette is and just you felt this sense of elevation of all the talent around him and of course for fantasy purposes that's terrific for us because everybody's playing up a notch. For me, my takeaway was essentially the same as yours, Daniel. I did the unlocking of Marvin Harrison Jr. Specifically because I felt like I saw a change in his whole it was not only the way that he played but when they show him on the sideline, the joy, you know, the relief like there was something different about him last night. And you can say what you want, but I believe that that is also a factor in terms of what the performance.
A
You looked like Larry Fitzgerald out there. That's why I wore the Cardinals jersey. A little homage. Absolutely. Because Marvin Harrison Jr. Finally looked like the wide receiver that we were all waiting to see him look like. I realize you guys are more professional than I am, and so, like, maybe I'll just be the one that doesn't want to tiptoe around it, but Kyler Murray should not be the starting quarterback of this franchise. It should be Jacoby Brissette, period.
B
I have eyes.
A
We all have eyes. We've all watched the last three games. This offense and this team is better with Jacoby Brissette as the starting quarterback.
B
Period.
A
End of story.
B
I think we all agree on that, and I think that we're. I think that we all agree that he's probably going to be the starting quarterback in week 11. I hope so. I would be surprised if he is not. The Cardinals can phrase it however they want to phrase it and say that the, you know, the health is the. The driving force behind Kyler remaining on the bench. I personally find that a little bit difficult to believe. And I think that Kyler Murray's status as the Cardinals quarterback of not just 2025, but 2026, like, maybe that Kyler Murray's time as the starting quarterback for the Cardinals is now behind us on the cowboy side.
A
Ask you one more question before we move on from that?
B
Sure. Yeah.
A
I did not see enough out of Bam Knight to be like, boy, we thought we were maybe going to get one week here. There wasn't like, enough in this game where it's like, it really was a little bit of a back and forth between both of these running backs. I thought it was going to be more Bam night.
B
The surprising part was that the other running back was not Michael Carter.
C
I had a feeling that that was. Actually picked him up just to get a few points. I wasn't expecting a lot, but when I saw how much he was touching the ball, that's. There were some hints there, you know, he had been hurt, and I felt like they were going to be looking to him a little bit more. And it'll be interesting to see how they rotate within that backfield going forward because it's not like there's a clear leader, but they certainly had a little bit more in the run game in terms of options than we've seen.
B
Yep. And they go on a buy this week. Again, a reminder. So Trey Benson is eligible to return in week 11. We don't really have a definitive word one way or the other.
A
We'll talk about him a little later.
B
We'll talk about him in just a little bit. But the Cowboys offense, you know, frankly, if you were hoping for some sort of Monday Night Football magic from really anybody on the Cowboys, you didn't get it last night because the Cowboys scored a total of one offensive touchdown. They blocked a punt for a touchdown.
A
Was it Javante Williams? No. Was it CD Lamb? No.
C
No.
A
George Pickens?
B
Keep going.
A
Jake Ferguson must have had the one.
C
Oh, maybe Dak ran it in.
A
Maybe Dak ran it in now. No. All right, who was it then?
B
Ryan Flournoy.
A
Thank you.
B
Five yard touchdown pass for nothing. Floy. So, yeah, that one was.
A
It was for Ryan, not pump for us.
C
Yeah.
B
So the Cowboys, who have been an absolute wagon at home offensively up until last night, did not deliver. So if you're looking for certainly disappointment, if you had a Cowboy or two in your lineup last night and you were trying to overcome some sort of deficit, the Cowboys, like the Cardinals, go into their buy this upcoming week. I still feel like those guys largely hold the same level of value as we're talking about them throughout the season. A note. We have heard your tweets, and I got to be honest with you, I can't tell you what my perfect reaction is to this because I've gotten a lot of tweets from people being like, dude, please give my Cowboys defense the six extra points for the touchdown it scored last night. It's being addressed. It's being addressed right now. We're working on it. As you guys know, sometimes these bugs do take place within the app. Yeah, but who on earth was starting the Cowboys defense?
A
That's a great question.
C
I just want to, you know, shout out to Jake Ferguson if you were wondering, like, what happened. Jake Ferguson, there was a couple drops in there out of character for him, and then a couple. A couple that look like they were, you know, maybe off target. But, you know, Mike Clay, it's okay. It's okay that you lost to me because of Jake Ferguson. I want to thank Jake Ferguson for not having the greatest night. So don't worry. We'll bring that up again on Sunday.
A
Can we do one last little bit here? Did anybody else think that it was hilarious? And the Internet was a buzz as soon as Stephen A. Smith left after the Cowboys fumble, when he's sitting up in the press box with Jerry Jones and he's like, all right, well, I'm out, dog.
C
It was the greatest. So good when the guy's calling the game. Yeah. Making reference to it. You know, it's a good night.
A
It was very fun. All right.
B
Can I say one more thing that.
A
Yeah, please.
B
Again, it's all. Part of this is, like, stuff you got to laugh at because we're all. We've all been there. We will all be there again at some point. I've mentioned this before. I play in a league where the lowest score each week has to pay off a punishment. It came down to basically two teams last night.
A
Oh, no.
B
And one of the guys was up 1.8 for the other player, and he had Javante Williams, who fumbled late in the fourth. No, no. Javante Williams pushes him down into the bottom of the basement.
C
The worst.
B
Oh, man.
C
What's the punishment?
B
He hasn't spun. So we spin the wheel every week, and this was decided last night. So usually he goes over. The wheel resides at my buddy Tom's house. And at some point, someone goes to Tom's house and spins the wheels from there.
A
So this guy's gonna have to do an accent for an entire workday at his job. Is that what it is?
B
We're seeing what he's gonna capture. Okay.
C
All right.
A
We'll come up with something fun. Love that. All right, let's really quickly take a look at our fantasy focus show league because we had some big matchups here. In this one, I got taken down by our producer Tyler, because I had Jake Ferguson and Bam Knight last night going up against Trey McBride. I needed 12 more fantasy points between Knight and Ferguson than McBride got. Spoiler alert. It didn't happen.
B
Yeah.
A
Tyler ends up with the win in this one, so I get the L because I didn't plan on 5.8 fantasy points from Jameer Gibbs. I'll tell you that much right now. Not great for me there. So.
C
Yeah, he got beaten by Let's. I want to point out Travis ETN and Nick Chubb and.
A
And Keon Coleman and Christian Watson.
C
They were in that line.
A
Stefan. You know what? I didn't need that. But then once you made me read his lineup, that makes me feel better.
C
Want to shout out Tyler for, like. I admire the use of the waiver wire to do, like, a patchwork quilt.
B
He's got a good team.
C
Come out with a victory. Yeah, you do have a good team. You got some rock stars in there.
A
Absolutely.
B
I think you have two of the receivers, Daniel, that fit into this category. Not to dive into too much on Xavier Worthy and Deebo Sam.
A
Oh, tell me about it.
B
Talk about how the temperature has changed on those two players compared to where we were probably like a month or five weeks ago. Like, it is a long season, folks. Not everybody who starts hot or has a hot stretch will remain that way going forward.
A
Yep. Let's take a look at the scoreboard really quickly from this week, and then we'll dive into the standings and move on to some waivers. A trophy smack took me down in a major way field, unfortunately. Miller Light Mike beats our Producer Team Loza 160.9. Crushes Christina.
B
Let's go.
A
And Eric Moody, 170, burying the lead.
C
Got a wagon. Moody's got a great team in this league.
B
He's got a good team in FF now.
C
He's as if he knows what he's doing.
A
Yes.
B
Chat about it, really.
A
I know that's right.
B
Moody is in the chat right now just basically being. He's like Pete Weber, the bowler. Yes. Who do you think you are all over the chat right now at this very moment?
A
That's so good. I always have this thought in my head that Eric is not only watching the show while he does it, but still listening to some tunes while it happens. So, Eric, if you're in chat, I would love to know what music you listen to because we know you're a big music guy, obviously, while you're doing this.
B
When Moody's season turned, it's when I called Led Zeppelin.
C
I remember that. It's true.
B
Overrated, which, by the way, was. Yeah, I was like, I called Led Zeppelin overrated. I can name, you know, like, I think I know, like, three Led Zeppelin songs, and they're all like, some of, you know, the classics that, like, everybody knows. Right? And I'm like, that was like, probably a bad idea. All it's going to do is alienate whatever Led Zeppelin hardcore fans we have out there. So, Maya, Paul, I'm sure it meant a lot to the entire music community to hear that from me, so I apologize.
A

A
All right, let's dive into our week 10 waiver wire. My friends, the floor is yours.
B
Daniel, hit us. What do you got?
A
A couple of reminders teams on by this week. We've got four of them. The Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans. Really the big one here that we are seeing is a lot of wide receivers. Bengals got two wide receivers that you love. Cowboys got two wide receivers that you love. Kansas City Chiefs have one and a half wide receivers. You just talked about Xavier Worthy, so we'll see how that one works out. But a lot of people still on by this week. I've got priority pickups.
B
Marvin Harrison Jr. Now and Marvin Harrison Jr.
A
Absolutely. I've got priority pickups and then I've got some deeper league pickups. You may be asking to yourself, Daniel, what's a priority league pickup?
C
Daniel, what's a priority pickup?
A
Thank you for that question Field. I will tell you, priority league pickups for me means that I would add him and start him. He is ranked as a starter, a potential person that you could use in your lineup this week or a significant role has emerged that will probably continue to materialize over the next coming weeks. But most of these are pretty straightforward. Let's start at the quarterback spot. My streamer for this week is going to be Sam Darnold, 41.9% of leagues he is rostered in and if you remember this last week, 330 passing yards, four touchdowns, 27.2 fantasy points.
B
Is 27.2 more than 15?
A
Yes it is. So he helped us all get pizza and that's part of why we clarified 20 or more fantasy points in three of his last four games. Him and JSN and this offense have just been on fire with each other and it's not just being able to hit 20 fantasy points. 295 or more passing yards. Almost hitting 300 yards in three of his last four games taken on the Cardinals. The last time that they played each other they had 16. Excuse me, he had 16 fantasy points against them. So I am excited to be able to see what this matchup will look like. Stefania, go ahead.
B
I actually have a selfish reason, a selfish question to ask. Do you recall Friday whether Cooper. I know he didn't play. Do you recall if he practiced on Friday or not? He was added on Thursday because of a hamstring limited.
C
Yeah. And he had a couple things going on. I can't recall off the top of my head.
B
Okay. Because I was thinking about that. Because he was a DN on Friday.
C
Yeah.
B
Could suggest.
C
I know. I got the feeling that it wasn't there. There was still uncertainty coming into this week.
B
Okay. Okay. All right. You know, let's rock.
C
At least leave it at. At least. I would say it was not a lock like.
A
Correct.
B
Got it.
A
I thought about a couple other streaming options. Trevor Lawrence hasn't been too bad but he gets the Texans this week. So that was an immediate. We're out on him because of that. And Stefania, you had already mentioned Jaden Daniels unfortunately yesterday also CJ Stroud we got to keep in mind. So if you need a quarterback, do you have any updates on those QB injuries?
C
Well, I think just for Jaden Daniels to sort of put a bow on it because yesterday we we did not know everything. We still don't know everything about him. But I think the consensus is that it's unlikely that we see him. It sounds like maybe the treatment is going to be conservative going forward. He did not have immediate surgery. That much we know. But nonetheless this is either way. Even if you were it's non surgical. It's a couple months resolution and we talked about you have to see where the team is at that point. If you want more information there's a lot whole big article on this on ESPN.com including my injury analysis.
A
But in redraft leagues he is officially droppable.
C
Absolutely. Because you look at when the fantasy playoffs are and everything just move on and find better options. CJ Stroud was feeling better on Monday according to d' Amico Ryan's but still in the concussion protocol. You know how the steps go from there.
A
Got it. All right. If you need a streamer. Sam Darnold is the guy I would choose this week at the running back spot. Trey Benson field. You had kind of alluded to it a little bit earlier. Trey Benson, rostered in 49.1% of leagues has a chance to be back in week 10. You need to grab him though. Even though we have not heard any updates yet, this is sort of the thing. We do not know officially that he is going to replay, going to come back and officially play in Week 10. He has a chance to, but when he does return, he's going to be the lead back. If you don't remember, he was drafted third round pick. He was going to be the next guy after James Conner to start the season. James Conner played the first three games just in case you guys wanted a little reminder of this. Ended up getting hurt in the game three. Trey Benson then becomes the starter in week four and then Trey Benson gets hurt in week four. So we've never even really seen him for a full gamut of snaps as the starting running back. But he needs to be added this week. Cardinals take on the Seahawks in week 10.
B
Week 11. Just for people that are saying we're in week 10.
A
I'm sorry, we're in week 10.
B
Yes. So there are. You have to wait one week on Trey Benson if you're going to get him back. At minimum he's going to be out for. For this week.
A
Yes. Sorry. Not because they're on by. Just because he will be out for one more week.
B
No, he is out this week because they're on by.
C
Correct.
A
The Arizona Cardinals are on by this week.
B
Yes.
C
Yes.
A
Okay. That's different than what I have on my sheet.
B
Don't we have them on by this week?
A
I do not see that. I see Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans.
B
Did I make that up?
C
Week 8 they were on by.
B
I totally screwed that up. My bad. I was like, okay, so you might get him back this week.
A
So at Trey Benson, we're not sure if he's going to go. If he does go, you might have a starting running back that you can play. If he doesn't go, are going to.
C
Get those answers about the starting quarterback sooner than we thought. You know what's funny is sometimes with team when they're not playing that well or not that relevant. Yeah, you just sort of. They had to buy it and nobody noticed.
B
Yeah, that's totally on me.
C
I know. I was right there. I was right. I was. I was buying the. Buying the buy there along With.
A
Well, you should be buying Trey Benson right now on the waiver wire if you have an option coming off an.
C
Arthroscopic procedure for a meniscus issue. You never know how players are going to look when they first start running and how do they feel. So just, you know.
B
Yep.
C
We don't know for sure, but we expect to see him love that he.
A
Is the number one running back.
C
This reports is bottom line.
A
That's right. That's right. I actually have a little bit of a blind resume. I was supposed to throw to it at the beginning of the show, but I'd love to throw up here and see if you guys can tell me who you might think these two wide receivers are. I'm going to throw it up here. These are stats from this season. We got a player on the left and a player on the right for those at home. Player on the left, 65 targets, 38 receptions, 506 receiving, 66 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Player on the right, 64 targets, so only one less. 37 receptions. So only one less. 385 yards and four touchdowns. Who do you think it is?
B
Field Yates on the left would be Courtland Sutton on the right would be.
A
Troy Franklin, on the left is Cortland Sutton and on the right is Troy Franklin. There is a big difference here.
B
Silhouettes.
C
That's what it is. I see the hair. I narrowed it down.
A
If you just looked at those two box scores, you would say, wow, they're within one target and one reception of each other in the entire season. Clearly, Cortland Sutton is the better wide receiver. And I want to say this because I've been out on the Cortland bandwagon. He's kind of like my Gabe Davis this year. I like the dart throw of Troy Franklin and this is a week I think you can utilize him. However, Troy Franklin has two usable weeks so far in fantasy football. Two big weeks over 20 fantasy points. Coralin Sutton has a number of weeks in where he's been a useful mid tier wide receiver. So even though their stats are fairly similar to each other, it's a little boomer best. It is a little bit more. However, this could be a boom week for Troy Franklin because they get the Raiders. They've allowed the fourth most fantasy points per game to wide receivers this year. They have allowed nine touchdowns to the position. And I have Troy Franklin as a top 30 wide receiver. He is a flex option again because you've got T. Higgins, Jamar Chase, CD Lamb, George Pickens and Rasheed Rice. And Xavier Worthy all on by this week.
C
Well said.
B
All righty.
A
All right. At the tight end spot, there's only one tight end that is a priority option for this week, and it's gotta be Colston Loveland. Yeah, I had actually mentioned this. Can we really quickly just roll the tape for everybody? That was real smart. Maybe you listened to me back in week eight. Colston Loveland.
B
Yeah, baby.
A
Rostered in 25.6% of leagues. Cole Comet got hurt in this game, back injury. So we're going to continue to monitor that. They're playing the Ravens, but Cole Comet was only targeted once on Sunday as a part of him leaving Colson Loveland had three catches for. Excuse me, four targets, three catches for 24 yards. Not a ton. Right. Not a lot of production, but he played a season high 46% of the snaps, so. Excuse me, 46 snaps, not 46%. So it feels like we talked about coming out of the buy. Do we maybe see a shift at that tight end spot? We start seeing a little bit more of these young guys work their way into the Bears offense. I think because of the fact that it's the tight end position. If you are looking for someone and you want to throw a dark. Colston Loveland, he hasn't done anything yet. That's why he's not a priority ad. But I think that there is something that could be unlocked for the second half of the season, which is why he's a medium priority guy for me.
B
All righty.
C
I love the black and white. Like we went back to the old film.
A
Exactly.
C
Fantastic. And also good on you.
A
Listen, sometimes you got to get ahead of the waiver wire. Thank you very much. You got to get ahead of the waiver wire a little bit. You needed to be able to have an expendable bench spot to do that. But we did talk about how we thought the Colston Loveland might become a thing in this passing game after the bye week happened. Six catches on seven targets for 118 yards and two touchdowns. This last week. One of the big things to remember is that Colcomet unfortunately went down, got banged up in this one. And if Cole Comet does not clear concussion protocol, that means that Colston Loveland is going to have the tight end position basically all to himself again. Once Cole Commet went down, Durham Smythe was the next guy that came up. He had a bunch of snaps but didn't have any. He had, I think, one target. He's not a passing game option. Not even something to worry about. So Colson Loveland. Between the breakout and the chance that there might not be a Cole commit, I'm going to have him as a top 10 to 12 tight end here in week 10 only.
B
Last note here. Did you guys see the play in which Cole Comet threw a pass this past week?
A
I did.
B
He threw a pass to Roma Dunes A. It was called back because of a penalty. Frozen rope. Yeah. Cole Comet's got an absolute hose. I think Cole was a pitcher back in the day like he was a youth pitcher who maybe had like he might have even pitched at Notre Dame for a little bit there.
C
Oh, wow.
B
Clearly the guy has an absolute laser, can throw lasers because that thing was on a line to Roma Dunes.
A
I just got to say this really quickly and maybe just any other like Lions fans that are out there, if you want to meet me in this spot after this week where we played the Minnesota Vikings and watching, I don't know, four people throw passes on Sunday for the Chicago Bears, there's a part of me that's like I don't like seeing my ex girlfriend with another handsome dude.
C
Yeah.
A
And I like watching Ben Johnson in this Bears offense. This last week was like dang, I missed that. That was really fun.
B
I mean the lines are fine, you know, but they're totally fine.
A
We are totally fine. But you know what I mean.
B
I feel your absence has made the heart.
A
All right. Really quickly I'm going to run through some deep league ads and this is going to be real fast because I don't want to start with a bunch of time Baseball.
C
Well also it's just tight ends are the best multi sport athletes.
A
Of course they are.
C
It's. They are always the ones who played multiple sports. I have a book I want to write on Titans because I really, I'm fascinated by the position.
A
So a lot of tight ends are basketball players.
C
Yes, that's right. Antonio Gates, Tony Gonzalez, all the people.
A
All right, let's talk about some running backs really quickly. Deeper league targets if you are in a 12, 14, 16 or deeper league or you have really big benches. Kenny Gainwell rostered in 47, 49.7% of leagues is is only because if Jalen Warren gets hurt, he's still an insurance back that you can have. However, however in week 11 he gets the Bengals. And so if you need a backup running back, I think even backup running backs, second running backs can get some useful bi week fill in type production if you need him. So Kenny Gainwell would be the guy that I would look at in week 11 not here for this week. And then all of the insurance running backs that I talk about every week, I'm not going to name them all but Tyler Algier, Tank Bigsby, Tajie Spears, those kind of guys, they still need to be rostered. Stefania, do you have any updates for us on injured running backs?
C
Yeah, Aaron Jones, who left the game early with his shoulder injury and I really thought that he had the potential to have a big game in concert. With J.J. mcCarthy returning, was reported by NFL Network as an AC sprain, common injury for a running back. When you get hit, tackled, go to the ground, take a block. But apparently was sore on Monday. But they're feeling pretty optimistic about how good Aaron Jones feels. So watch your practice reports this week. But it sounds like maybe he might not even miss time.
A
Okay, some deeper league wide receiver ads. Tori Horton rostered in 7% of leagues four games over 11 fantasy points. He's been the deep threat. Right now he's a little touchdown dependent.
B
If Cooper cup is out, yeah, he becomes a top.
A
You feel better.
C
Cup was a DNP on Friday.
B
Okay. So that, not that we have all the information, but if you go limited on Thursday and then you still practice on Friday, gives you a little bit more confidence he could play the following week. When you go limited dnp, it puts a little bit more.
A
Feels like it's a question mark there. Yep. Again, we're talking deeper league ads, but I feel better about him. If Cooper cup doesn't go, he is becoming a nice secondary option behind jsn. I'm also going to say Christian Watson and it feels weird being like, hey, let me suggest a Packers wide receiver. But with Tucker Kraft going out for the rest of the season, someone's going to have to step up. If there were two wide receivers in Green Bay that I had faith in and faith is a strong word, it would be Romeo Dobbs and probably Christian Watson. Still no Jaden Reed. Matthew golden got hurt and hasn't been a part of this offense. So day according to he's been day to day the entire season in our fantasy lineups.
B
Guys, Dobbs, we'll talk about this week because he is on the up and.
A
He'S doing some things. Yep.
C
So Stefania, there's a bunch of wide receivers who got banged up and some, you know, we're reaching on the waiver wire. So some of these names you're like, I don't care about that necessarily because that guy wasn't on my roster. But he might have been somebody you were trying to reach out to get because everybody else is hurt like Luke McCaffrey for the Commanders because they are looking for anybody healthy to, to be on their roster. Did you know that he went out first drive of the game, ended up fracturing his collarbone. So that's going to be Luke McCaffrey gone for an extended period of time. We could talk about who's left to catch passes from Marcus Mariota because obviously it won't be Jaden Daniels there for Washington. Puka Nakua, we mentioned yesterday the ribs issue. They are very encouraged by the fact that it didn't seem to be that serious. Maybe could have gone back in if this were a playoff game. So it sounds like Puka, you know, unfortunately for the 49ers will be available this week. Brian Thomas Jr. You know, he's had a slew of injury like the combination of performance issues and injury issues. It's really been something he's battled against. He had come into the week with a shoulder injury, but he left because of an ankle injury late in the game. He did not play in the overtime portion of that game against the Raiders. Just not ideal. And so we remember Travis Hunter is now on injured reserve. Travis Hunter, who is supposed to be more on offense, now on injured reserve because of his knee that we don't have a ton of detail on, but that means at least four games for him, if not longer.
A
Stefania, can I ask you a question before you move on from that? I feel like I remember on fantasy football now you and Field did your day to day segment and I thought that. And maybe I was in a different segment, but I thought that you had highlighted the number of snaps that Travis Hunter has played because he's played both offensive and defensive. Was he the most snaps in the NFL so far this year or are there players that have played more for.
C
Any position player not on the offense. Not on. Not on. Not on the. Not playing on the offensive line.
A
Okay, got it.
C
Oh, that was what.
A
More snaps than any other skill position player in the NFL essentially because he's.
C
Playing the percentage on offense and defense. And when the point that we were trying to make too is that when you couple that with the amount of time he saw on the field at Colorado.
A
Yeah.
C
His last year, you just look at overall fatigue. I mean, there's only so much the body can take and he's incredibly fit and he's done it incredibly well. But the question was, and it's a rhetorical one in a, in a way because we don't have a sample size right yeah, he's. He's essentially it. But when you play that many snaps, are you at greater risk for injury just because of overall fatigue?
A
He doesn't have a big body either. I mean, we all know that. But like, when I think of a guy that's going to play more snaps than anyone else in the NFL, like, my brain thinks like DK Metcalf, AJ Brown, like, those are the guys that have. Like, I'm interested. Not that he can't, but like, he's obviously a slighter type of a player. So great on that. Any other wide receivers? Stefania, before I talk about one more.
C
Time, Matthew golden, but you know, we were already, you know, souring on him just for fantasy purposes. But on top of it, unfortunately for him, left in the third quarter with a shoulder injury. They have a Monday night game, the packers do, so you're not going to get any injury reports until Thursday.
A
Oh, great. That's awesome. All right, well, I'm going to do one last tight end because I cannot believe this guy is still available on the waiver wire because Harold Fannin is tight end 12 on the season and he is still available out there. 11 or more fantasy points in four straight games.
C
It's the name.
A
Including 18 fantasy points against the Patriots last week. But I think maybe it is because of the name. But like, with how bad the tight end has been, you're saying Harold is the problem?
C
Yeah, I mean, is Harold gonna really crush Amy?
A
Is that it?
C
I do think it's a thing.
A
Okay.
B
You know, at his finest.
A
My father's middle name is Harold.
C
Oh, I like the name Harold.
A
All of a sudden Stefania's tune changes.
C
No, no, no.
A
It's just no big deal.
C
Stefania, sometimes in a name, you're looking for, you know, Trey McBride.
A
Yeah.
C
Sounds like a tight end.
A
Yes, it does score a lot of.
C
Points for you, Harold.
B
Harold.
A
Harold Fannin. Well, Harold Fannin needs to be on rosters because we have been trying to find tight ends that you can start. And as a reminder, he is tight end 12 right now in fantasy points per game. And if there is one pass catcher in Cleveland that I trust, I don't know about you guys, it's going to be a tight end. It's just not the wide receivers right now. So go out and grab Harold Fannin. That's going to do it for our waiver wire here in week 10. Let's move ahead and talk about a running back. Panic meter.
B
Ready?
A
We're going to start with this panic meter. We got a handful of running backs we brought to the table. We're going to start in Chicago field, Yates and we're going to all go around the table, give our panic number and then discuss the situation. DeAndre Swift because Kyle Manangai came on big in week nine and we had talked about him getting more playing time moving up over the last couple of weeks. How panicked are you about DeAndre Swift now?
B
So let's establish the scale here. One to ten. One would mean I'm not panicked at all. Ten would mean I'm extremely panicked, correct?
A
Yes.
B
Mine for DeAndre Swift is a five and it's got a better chance of moving up than moving down.
A
I agree.
B
We don't know whether DeAndre as in.
C
Improving or is in like closer to.
A
Higher number 6 or 7 closer to 10.
B
So don't want to go full panic here because there are some coaches that believe you don't lose your job to injury and DeAndre Swift was playing very well. Swift, despite missing a game and having his buy, is still 20th in the NFL and rushing yards. I think he's going to see a dip. But I don't think this becomes exclusively the Kyle Manungai show. I think it's still more likely that when healthy, DeAndre Swift has an edge, even if that edge that he previously had over Manangai is narrowed by a little bit.
C
I I rated him a 7, sort of the similar rationale, but I'm a little more panicked because the combination of the injury, the fact that he's been playing through something and done as well as he has, on the one hand, that's encouraging. I also think it's a groin injury. When you have a soft tissue injury that has gotten bad enough that you now need to miss time, but you're going to try to keep playing through it, then does that make you a lesser version of the player that you were and does that then further augment Kyle Manon guy's opportunities?
A
Sure.
C
I'm a little bit more nervous.
A
I got my panic meter also at a 5. I think the reason why it's a 5 and not higher is because I viewed him as sort of like a high end, high to mid, high end RB2 leading into this and at this point I still think he's a starter but he's more a low end or really high five. Flex play for me because of Kyle Manangai coming on. But I'm still starting him so I'm not panicked enough that like all of a sudden I lost a resource. But it's not what it Used to.
C
Be right now because he's not playing.
B
Well, we'll see if he practices on Wednesday, the Giants this upcoming Sunday. That is a home game in Chicago.
A
All right, Stefania, I'm going to start with you on this one. Panic meter on Chuba Hubbard. Is this Rico bound?
C
I mean, did you see what happened this weekend? No. It was all Rico Dowdle and poor Chuba Hubbard was like 1.7 fantasy. I don't remember the number, but it was something really, really tiny. And I think they basically have just, you know, the baton has been passed.
B
Yeah, it's a 10 and.
C
Yeah.
A
Yeah, I have it as a 10, too.
B
Yeah, I mean, a little grace is you're being.
A
Yeah, you've got the empathy side because.
C
It'S like if anything happens, he's an insurance policy. So I'm not completely writing him off. You know, the. Again, I remind you, injury exposure is a real number.
B
Yeah.
C
It's based on the amount of times you see the field. So the more you're on the field, the higher your risk for injury. It's just a fact of playing football. And if you're a running back, it's the most frequently injured position. So as much as we like to say, okay, this is totally flipped, this goes for any team. You always want to try and have.
A
Somebody still be on benches.
C
Yeah. Number one injured position is the running back.
B
Yeah. But to me, he's a 10. He's just because is really dependent upon Rico's health for him to have any role going forward. I was thinking about this, and Chuba has been amazing for the Panthers over the past couple of years. I will take nothing away from the excellent run that he had. It's just that right now, for a team that's five and four, they have to ride the hot hand. This probably sounds ludicrous when you say it out loud for the first time, but I was just thinking about this. Is Rico Dowdle kind of Josh Jacobs now?
A
Oh, wow. Okay.
B
How far off is that comparison?
A
Give me a little more. Give me a little more. Help me see the. Help me see.
B
Talking about exceptional running, I mean, he's got more rush yards than Josh Jacobs and he's played way less than Josh Jacobs.
A
I guess he's better than Josh Jacobs.
B
Of receiving as well. Not a ton.
A
Yeah, just. But a dash is a good one.
B
You know, a few targets, two to three targets a week probably finds the ends of, like, the guy. And it's a. It's a very, very capable running scheme. This is not Rico Dowdle. Playing behind some trash offensive line where.
A
He'S just fair comp.
B
He has definitely taken advantage of some good matchups. Right. The Cowboys and the Dolphins were good matchups, but when he did it against Green Bay, that's. To me, that kind of took it to another level.
A
Yeah.
B
So I'm not saying that, like, if someone offered me Rico Doddle for my Josh Jacobs, I'm immediately pressing yes or on this, on, like the trade button. I'm not accepting right away. But they're fairly close in value, right? For right now, Fairly close.
A
Do you have. Would you say because of the offense? You would. I mean, obviously Josh Jacobs is Josh Jacobs, but, like, I would. Part of it is Carolina Panthers just don't, like, offer nearly as many scoring opportunities, I don't think, as the Green Bay packers do. But Ricky Rico. Ricky Rico Dowdle. Can I do that? Can I just call him Ricky Dowdle? Is that fine now? I don't think that's not okay. Yeah, it is. Rico. Someone who has a Rico as a Rico at home. Yes.
C
Please use the proper name.
A
But Rico Dowdle has been unbelievable. I think this is a great. Just these first two running backs that we're talking about. DeAndre Swift, rather than being a 10, is still a five for me because he still has value right now for me as a starter in fantasy, Chuba Hubbard has just lost all starting value and is now just meant to be on benches, which is why he is a 9 and a 10 for us. Let's move ahead and talk about the next one.
B
I just got a note from the makeup department that your phone is up there, so I'll get it after the show.
A
Did you.
B
I'm not kidding.
A
Yeah. Oh, that's amazing. Well, sorry about that.
C
This is important news, people.
A
Thank you, makeup department. Honestly, where would I be if those ladies didn't keep me straight? I have no idea what I would be doing right now.
C
So right there with you, brother.
A
Yeah, they're fantastic. Fantastic. Let's talk about Chargers, because Kamani Vidal has been unbelievably inconsistent. Can I give you his last four weeks and then have you guys give me your panic meter on him? Week 6, 22.8 fantasy points, RB5 on the week. Week 7, 7.5 fantasy points, RB36. Week 8, 19.7 fantasy points, RB10 on the week. Week 9, 3 fantasy points, RB53. So two weeks inside the top 10, two weeks outside the top 35, and eventually we're thinking that Amari and Hampton is going to come back, Right?
C
I just I'm not saying that he's not. I'm just saying that when somebody is immediately declared going. Being sent to IR and there is zero discussion of when he might be back, you just got to wait and see. Like to me it's. The injury was more significant like that. That move to IR was so quick that that spoke to me. So I would say if you. IR means minimum of four games. I think it will be more than four games. And then. Yeah, right. And then the practice window has to open. So I just wouldn't be banking on it.
A
Okay.
B
A little bit of an update yesterday from Jim Harbaugh. He said the team would not open it prior to week 12 by not.
A
Open the 21 day window. Yeah.
B
So we're talking about the earliest for Amaran Hampton being week 13. Okay, that'll be the earliest.
A
Good to know.
B
And. But so we'll see whether that actually happened.
C
You're getting into fantasy playoffs. So.
A
And now we're talking. This is also another piece to this offense that I didn't mention. A little more in the nitty gritty, but obviously Joe Alt going down. They don't. They've lost both of their, you know, bookend tackles.
C
He's done for the season.
A
How are you guys feeling about what's your panic meter on Kamani Vidal given the inconsistency?
B
So this is personal stance, but mine is just a three because there is upside here that you mentioned the two really, really good games for Kamani Vidal on top of that. And maybe this is where some just like fundamentally disagree about the thought processes. He was a waiver wire ad. Right. This was not some guy you used a fifth round pick on. Like Chuba Hubbard was. Where you're like dang like a foundation piece for me when I began the season is now gone. Like he's a surplus value add. And over the next few weeks we are going to have this week four teams on a buy. We have another week coming up or we if the Chargers maybe Omar had in his back. But there's going to be a six week 16 bye week. There's just going to be a lot of gaps that you're having to fill and it's a decent matchup on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. So I'm a little less concerned than some.
A
I actually think that's really good analysis. It would probably change the way that I did my panic meter because I had him as a panic level six. But you're right, as a guy that we added off of waivers, I was panicked because Inconsistency makes it difficult for me to make choices when I'm having to choose who's going to be my starter week in and week out. With bye weeks, it's like, am I going to go with this backup running back that clearly isn't the starting running back, or am I going to go a different direction? So. But I think you're right, you know, adding them off of waivers, even though I've got him at six, probably should be closer to like a four and a half or five.
B
You can do it. I mean.
C
Yeah. I mean, the thing is I. I gave him a five, so I'll split the.
A
There you go.
B
There you go.
C
But part of it is because their value or where I got them doesn't matter too much. I just need to know what they're going to do for me now. Like, what have you done for me lately? So I didn't really think of it as like, I, there's a benefit because I didn't invest in him.
A
Sure.
C
It's like, I got him. I need to know if I can start him or not because he's taken up a spot on my roster. And I think, I feel me, you know, I'm sort of in the. It is a bit of a dart throw because. Exactly what you said. Split 50, 50. There's a really good week and then a not very good week. And I'm definitely a little concerned with the line that they've got there. So.
A
And they got four pass catchers that they want to get involved as well as a part of this offense.
C
So there's just no, it's probably a week to week thing of whether you can trust or not. And you may not have a choice. Depending on what your rosters look.
A
Match probably is going to lean a lot of the conversation. If it's a good matchup, I'll feel better about it. If it's a tough matchup, you might want to go another direction. But. All right, let's move ahead at the running back spot. Has Father Time officially caught up with Alvin Camara? How panicked are you about him?
B
10.
A
I have it at an 8.
B
Okay. I apparently went to the extreme here. It's a 10 for me with Alvin Camara. Let's just go through what the last five games have looked like as a rusher. Maybe you're saying to yourself, like, you need to have something here. You need to have like an offense that you play in that's so good that even if you don't get a ton of opportunities, you might fall into the end zone or you need a lot of work or you need great efficiency. So five straight games for Alvin Camaro with 11 or fewer carries, that's not good.
A
That's not. That's not a lot of work.
B
Five straight games with 31 or fewer rushing yards.
A
That's not good efficiency as well.
B
Yes. He has six catches for 28 yards over the last three games.
A
That's.
B
So his role has dramatically reduced there. And I guess we can keep using this stat every week until he breaks the streak. He's got one touchdown all season. It was back in week one. So he is going to be higher than a 10 panic meter suggest in rankings this week only because running back stinks once again and we've got four teams on a buy. But he is outside my top 25 for rankings right now.
A
He is, I think, going to be unstartable by the time that you get to the fantasy playoffs. I don't know how you could trust him.
B
Yeah, I mean, I don't. He may not. You probably don't even have him, so.
A
And this is one of the things we talked about this coming into the season where it was like, do you have any guys that, like, you're like a little bit of a narrative on, like, towards the second half of the season? We talked about this. One of the things that I was worried about is, are the Saints going to be so bad that Alvin Kamara is going to be 30 and they're like, we're not in the playoff hunt and you've got a hamstring and we do want to bring you back next year. So we're just going to shut you down for the final six games of the season. They've got nothing to play for, and right now he's playing like there's not much to play for. So my panic meter right now is still healthy.
B
That might be a little more likely to happen in my book. Ideals, they're so thin right now. That might be like, all right, we kind of want to shut you down at the same time. There's nobody besides Devin Neal.
A
They got to call our buddy Jamal back. Let's get Jamal Williams back in New Orleans and do some things. Stefania, where are you at on this panic?
C
You know, I'm not. I. I guess, boy, now I'm feeling bad about my number because I just. I didn't see it as quite that dire. Only because we've only had this new quarterback in for one week, and I feel like he could be the new quarterback's best friend if they have a chance to work together. You know, he's an outlet play for Tyler Scheck. So you know, he hasn't been great. I don't think it's totally on the age. I think it's a function of everything that's wrong in New Orleans right now. Like there was a reason that we talked about him wondering if he would be a trade deadline candidate before it was. He made it very clear he wanted to stay in New Orleans and all of that and we. That went away. But do you think. Right. Let me ask you this because this shapes the number. If he were available, would there be teams that would be calling to try and to try and get him to help them out?
A
We use this team for every time we talk about a running back. But if you told me that the K Kansas City Chiefs made a move to get Alvin Camara for the second half of the season, I would too. But yes, I would all of a sudden feel like I might now have more something in Alvin Camara.
C
It's not that you think think he's totally dust because you feel like I.
A
Think he's dust in this offense.
C
Yes, yes. Okay. But I'm not quite there yet because I'm going to give him one more chance for the new.
A
That's fair. That's fair. We'll see how this one turns out because he has been tough for fantasy managers. But Alvin Kamara, someone hopefully we can get more value out of in the second half of the season. Let's talk about the Detroit Lions. Has Dr. Robotnik tampered with Sonic and Knuckles?
B
Well, we talked about this a little bit yesterday with Jameer Gibbs. My panic meter on Gibbs is a one because what's Jameer Gibbs? Am I going to move him down from RB5 to RB8? You could maybe.
A
I mean that's slander. Would be egregious though.
B
I mean he still had massive weeks. A couple weeks ago he was off the charts on Monday Night Football. Like he's Jameer Gibbs.
A
Let's just say the one thing, and you've said it before, the one thing that we need to change about Jameer Gibbs this year is getting back to passing game usage.
B
But I'm not so sure they're going to do that.
A
I'm not sure either.
B
And I'm not sure they really necessarily need to for him to have monster fantasy upside. Like I think what it does is I think it decreases the floor every single week. Right. We talked about this how you know 10 or fewer receiving yards four times this season.
C
Yeah.
B
10 or fewer receiving yards three times. All of last year.
A
All of last year.
B
So in basically twice of a sample, twice the size sample size, last year he had fewer bad, bad, bad games as a receiver. I'm. I'm. I'm not panicking. Like, I don't. I feel like I said my piece on Jameer Gibbs yesterday. I'm good. You're still starting one out of ten.
A
I'm with you on that.
B
I'm at a six with Monty. I think he's just kind of. I use the term my notes of like he de graduated from like a solid RB2 to just a flex play, especially at this dire running back position.
C
Yep.
B
Last season though, he was a top 20 running back 10 out of 14 games played. So what's that's like basically 70 plus percent of his games. He was a top 20 performer. He was outside the top 30 twice. All of last season. He had 10 games with 14.9 or more fantasy points. So basically 15 fantasy points in 10 games played. This season he's been a top 20 running back in two of eight games. So down from 70% to 25%. He's been 30th or worse in four of eight games. So up from like 15% to 50%.
C
Yeah.
B
He's just getting way less work overall.
C
Right.
B
Gibbs has taken on not just some of the rushing responsibilities, but also some of the past protection responsibilities. And this is the reality of having a guy who's one of the three to five most talented running backs on planet earth and Jameer Gibbs is. Somebody's going to have to concede some work that somebody this year's Monty, we.
A
Said that this season after the first couple of games, which is it used to be the Lions would wear down defenses with David Montgomery and then you'd have the speed guy come in for the second half of the game. They've literally different this year. It is Jameer Gibbs first and then they try to bring David Montgomery in and has not looked the same. I just want to as a reminder, last week, see me last year he got hurt in week 14. And you had the final four years where four weeks where it was just Jameer Gibbs in week 14. Jameer Gibbs was RB5, David Montgomery was RB9. You had two top 10 running backs that you were able to count on in fantasy football, and David Montgomery has not been anywhere close to that. I have him as a panic level of 3, but that's because I feel like kind of like you had said earlier with one of the other players no David Montgomery. Because I feel like that's, like, at this point, I know who he is. Like, I know what I know the expectation of when I put him in my lineup. I have now recalibrated what I think David Montgomery is going to be for me as a starter.
B
I just think that if you came into the season and went either hero running back or zero running back, thought.
A
Maybe you got a good RBC, RB2.
B
You probably feel a little bit less than satisfied.
A
You do? Yeah. You're not wrong. All right, Stefania, where is your panic?
C
So I think this is where, you know, we're, we're looking at it a little bit differently. Like, I have Gibbs as a three and Montgomery is a seven. Because I was looking at it like Montgomery. To me, it's the value of what I can get for, you know, what my expectations for him would be going forward the rest of the season. Like, I, I don't think they're very good. Whereas Jameer Gibbs, I do think you're going to have the opportunities to have these games where he's not as productive for you as you would hope. Like, I can't rely on him necessarily the way I rely on McCaffrey or Taylor, even though Taylor just put up a dud. McCaffrey's had one as well. But I'm a little more worried that I could see another one of those from Jameer. But Montgomery was never a huge factor in my plans. But as you said, like an RB2, I just, I, I, I don't know. I don't feel great about starting him in last year. It would have been automatic.
B
Absolutely.
A
Yeah. Second running back, quick nerd alert, trigger warning. I'm going to mention offensive line play for 10 seconds and then we'll move on. But the Detroit Lions have absolutely been impacted by the fact they no longer have Frank Rag. Now, that has really hurt the middle of the offensive line and it's really hurt the offense in general just being able to set up play action. Jameer Gibbs is clearly the guy that can overcome a lesser offensive line than David Montgomery. He has clearly been more impacted because of that. So it's not been great.
B
Last thing that I will say on this is Shamir Gibbs last year was one of the few players that had zero games under 10 fantasy points. Yeah, he's now got two this year. So a little bit, again, it's, to me, it's less about the ceiling and more about the floor for Gibbs compared to where we were last season.
A
Last running back as a running back doing The Spider man meme with David Montgomery. Jacori Cross game Merritt. How should fantasy managers feel moving forward? Four straight games without a touchdown. Four straight games under six fantasy points field.
B
I've got him at an eight and a half. I thought about going higher there on Jakory Crosby merits over those four games that you mentioned with no touchdowns. His longest run in those four games. You want to guess how long his longest run is? Basically a quarter of the season.
A
67 yards.
B
Okay, that would be incorrect. Stefania, do you have a guess?
C
I don't know.
B
32. 1111 yards is his longest run. He has not topped and he's been under three yards in two of those four games. Per carry, he has not been higher than 3.6 yards per carry.
A
Yikes.
B
In those four games, he has three catches for nine yards. He has eight catches all season. The Commanders are now without Jaden Daniels. What does that mean? They're going to be playing from behind more doesn't help. Does that mean more? Jeremy McNichols. So I like the player. I think the preseason. I think that the player that we saw in the preseason, it's. I don't think it's to the extreme as where we were with Trebion Henderson, Right?
A
Correct.
B
Where Henderson. It was like, oh my God, this guy's just too talented to keep off the field. As much as I would love for Travon Henderson to be a thing, like when he has played this year, I'm not like, whoa nelly. The Patriots have totally screwed it up. Like, he's been fine. But in this, like that's how I feel about Bill. Right?
A
We do this to ourselves because coming in that hype train, we just let it. I mean, and there's a reason why, right? But like we let the hype train get out of control and it happens every year.
C
And then when Austin Eckler went down.
A
I think and they trade Brian Robinson Jr. There's so many reasons why we feel optimism.
C
You're like, where else are they gonna go? You know this.
A
They're not gonna give the ball to Chris Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols. Right guys.
B
And then on top of that, I think we have to remind ourselves as we're watching preseason going forward is it's not just the Bill. Like he might be playing against third string players at some point of the preseason. He also might be playing against first ringers at some points or, you know, starters at some points during the preseason. But scheme wise, they're just all basically out there running. Cover two, cover three Cover four. Just like, no one is throwing, right? Like, no, I don't want to. This is not a perfect comparison, but I love going to NBA games and getting there when I have the opportunity to do so. And I get there a little bit early. And you watch these guys shoot, and I swear, during March, none of them ever miss. Like, the bulky center who has Never attempted a three pointer, goes like 9 for 14 in his three point attempts during shoot around. And you're like, how do these guys not score 300 points?
A
I kid you not. I watched Ben Wallace. I went to a Pistons game. I watched Ben Wallace hit three straight threes. And I'm like, why don't you do this in the game? And it's like, well, there's a reason why Ben Wallace doesn't shoot threes and he's NBA.
B
Or he's a basketball hall of Famer. Great all time great defensive player, but like a historically bad shooter, awful shooter. Like, it's amazing.
A
But in warmups, it's like, dude, you're shooting lights out. Why not do this in the game?
B
A little bit of that in play here. You're like, yeah, these guys look amazing when they're just playing against the most basic vanilla of defenses and probably backups in the preseason. I go with eight.
A
I like fantasy focus. Getting a little O. Line Talk, talking Cover 2, Cover 3, Cover 4, Cover 0. A little bit of everything in this show. Stefania, what's your NBA? Little bit of NBA as well. That's right.
C
Basketball has come up three or four times in this show. I put it as six. I think on some of these I just feel like, you know, I mean.
B
You'Re just nicer than me.
C
Well, no, it's also because, like, what else are they going to do? Stefania's not nicer than to get the. Definitely not.
A
You are.
C
Yeah, listen, I got a line of people who will support me in that.
A
Oh, stop.
C
Listen, I. They got nobody else, so opportunity is there.
A
I think I'm at a 62. Like, I could.
C
I really don't know how to feel about it.
A
I could have been higher. I very easily could have been higher. And the idea of Marcus Mariota doesn't make things better because unless you've got positive game scripts for Bill Crosky Merritt. We have seen over the last month. We don't even have to, like, think about it. We've literally seen it.
C
Let's.
B
Let's take. They're playing the Lions this weekend. Lions aren't great schedule.
A
Okay.
B
So, yeah, Lions.
A
Yep.
B
You Feel better about the game against the Dolphins, maybe?
A
Absolutely.
B
Dolphins game that is abroad over in Madrid.
A
Okay.
B
Bronco. Yeah, they have a buy. Broncos.
A
Okay.
B
Right there. Vikings, I think it's not. Sure. Yeah, Maybe Giants, maybe.
A
Okay.
B
Eagles. Cowboys. Eagles. Now, of course, Eagles is week 18. So if you're playing only through week seven. Anyways, the point is, word this. We're also at the section now, the season where it's like, we've got. You may not have five regular season weeks left of the fantasy year, child. Yeah.
A
It's crazy.
C
I know. And as much as you. Wait, so you need to optimize your roster because a false move here or there can mean you're out of the playoffs. But you also may be dealing with. I was looking at my rosters. I mean, I. It is duct tape and glue. You know, you got injuries, you got by weeks. You're trying. So you can't sit there and necessarily poo, poo. Jacori Cross, he's a starter in an offense that plays football on Sundays and Mondays.
B
You know, I think he's just a low upside, you know, flex during what you're getting at.
A
Agreed. Also, I would just like to say, logistically, you're not supposed to use both duct tape and glue. You're supposed to use one or the other. You counteract different parts. We'll see.
C
Duct tape up here on the roster, glue down here.
B
You know, I. I believe that staple gun. There's a. There's a thread that goes out, a tweet that goes out every once in a while where it's like, if you could be. Like, if there is a skill that you have that you believe you are in the top 1% of the world. World a la Steph Curry, shooting a basketball.
A
Yes.
B
What do you think that skill would be? And I'm telling you, I believe both my kids are top 1%, probably top.01% of putting stickers on their clothing. And just somehow I miss the fact that, like, when they take those clothes off, they don't.
C
Right.
A
So it goes in the wash.
B
Goes into the wash. I just learned the way you get rid of it. You put. You slap some duct tape on there.
C
And then you peel it off.
B
Gets off the remnants of the sticker. Yeah.
A
Some of us know that. I used to watch a show called Red Green growing up because I lived by Canada, and he had a whole spiel where he would do fixes, but he only had duct tape. And he says if women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you Handy. And the whole thing is duct tape fixes everything. So it's okay if you're not handsome. Just make sure you have a roll of duct tape with you everywhere you go. So, field, you're already doing that as a dad. You got that roll of duct tape on your side.
B
Pull it out.
C
If women don't find you here, they.
A
Should at least find you handy. Yeah. Yeah. It was a good one. Yeah. Shout out to Red Green from my childhood. All right, let's dive into some YouTube questions here. Again, shout out to our buddy Eric Moody, who's been hanging out all show long. We'd love having you in there, Eric. First one that we have in our mailbag comes from Benny. Jack Benny wants to know, is Chris Godwin worth rostering at this point?
B
All right, I wanted the furnace buying in a second here, but I think, like, to me, this is the week where I find out whether it's worth it.
A
Whether it's worth it.
B
Yes.
A
This is the week that we maybe get the information that we need. Rest of season, you'll kind of have a good. Like a good road map of where we could be. What is the latest that we have on him? Okay. All right. Thank you, Stefan.
C
That's why. That's why maybe this. That's why maybe this week. Right. Because everybody was on a buy last week. So let's see, now that we're coming back and we're having to talk about it. This is for those who might have forgotten, he had a fibula injury. The fibula is the bone he broke when he had the ankle fracture dislocation and had, you know, some complications. Had to have a second surgery. We saw when he came back, had some soreness, you know, Next thing you know, he's out with a fibula. I still am fascinated by a fibula injury because really, when we're talking about a fibula, usually it means a fracture. And there's been this statement, you know, a couple of people have reported per sourcing that it is not related to the prior injury. And I'm like, it's the same bone in the same leg. So even if you tell me it's a new injury, you're not going to convince me that they are unrelated because you have a previous history there. All of which is to say this is really. It's really tough for me to imagine that this is just, like, gone. Yeah, you know, gone. Like, might he be able to come back and practice and maybe play? Yes. But I'm still going to be a little cautious, a little Concerned about what do we get from Chris Godwin the rest of this season if he does come back?
A
Sure.
C
And how much do they use him when we already know he's had? Let's not call it a setback because they're calling a different injury, but another injury to the same leg.
A
So don't call it a setback.
C
I. If I would say this. If you have the spot to keep him on IR and it's not holding you up anywhere else, you might as well do it to at least hear what's going on this week. And if you have an opportunity to have something better, you need space on your roster, then by all means, go ahead, because I don't think. If you're thinking, but I'm going to get the Chris Godwin I was hoping for start of the season back. I don't think that's the case.
A
All right, so Dr. Bell says if you need the space, you don't want me to call you Dr. Bell. Ms. Bell. Ms. Stefania Bell, the authoritarian here.
B
It always throws me off. Like sometimes your friends call you Stephen.
C
Yeah.
B
Just like some of Daniel's friends call him Dan.
A
That feels weird to me.
B
My friends call me Fee back home. And you guys.
A
All right, well, one more week. Let's wait one more week if you can. And you don't need the roster spot. We want to give it one more week to see what we could find out.
B
Fun game. Week 10 Patriots Bucks. That's a fun game.
A
Good one. It's gonna be a good one.
C
Be a really good one.
A
Let's get another question here from our YouTube chat. This one comes in from Justin Time. I did not play RJ Harvey last week. Instead, I played Woody Marks. I have the same decision this week. RJ Harvey or Woody Marks. When RJ Harvey has been over his skis in the touchdown department recently.
B
Touchdowns. Derek McKinnon. Man, I was. Yeah, they play the Broncos play the Raiders on Thursday night. The Texans put the Jaguars on Sunday.
A
RJ Harvey.
C
Harvey is probably it.
B
Probably. I know, like, tempting fate's a bad idea, but I think I probably just keep. Keep playing the guy that finds the end zone, who's got an offense that's more willing to scheme stuff up for him and those scoring opportunities.
A
Agreed.
B
This last week, though, it was like a 38 yard touchdown catch. It was sick.
A
Yes, it was.
C
He looks good. You know? See the highlight? If you saw the highlight reel, you'd be like, who is this guy? And I need to have him on my roster. And then you would look at the sum total of the stats, you'd be.
B
Like, let's get the numbers.
A
I need him on my dynasty roster, not on my redraft.
B
He obviously played in the same game last week. RJ Harvey had two carries and RJ Harvey had. Oh, he had five catches, actually, believe it or not. Did our driver last week.
A
Okay.
B
Like, that many. But Woody marks had 10 carries. Woody marks had zero catches.
A
Okay.
B
Probably.
C
Yeah. Go with a guy who's gonna maybe have some more reception.
A
Passing game usage. Yep. I'm with you. I'd go RJ Harvey in this one. All right. There you go, Justin. Let's do another one here. From our YouTube chat, this one comes in from Ricky Business. That's a clever name, Ricky Business.
C
I see what you did there.
A
Would you drop Brock Purdy for J.J. mcCarthy?
B
I'm gonna decode a Stefania there.
C
Yeah, I would. Listen.
B
Your starting quarterback, it probably isn't. I wouldn't. Because you haven't been starting J.J. definitely.
C
That's why I started. I got a little hesitation because I'm like, is this first reserve status or. Because that's what we don't know about Brock purdy. And the 49ers have this situation where they have Mac Jones playing really, really well.
B
Yeah.
C
And Brock Purdy. When you.
A
If.
C
If you're reading the tea leaves on what Shannon's saying, and I can tell you this, when you have a toe injury and it's not fully healed and it's even just a little bit problematic with certain movements, if you tip the scale, you can turn it into something that is a complete disaster for an athlete. So they. Brock Purdy's still feeling it a little bit, and that's why they. They have this uncertainty of when they're going to bring him back to start.
B
Okay.
C
So I. I feel like the. The 49ers are inclined to wait as long as they can to have Brock Purdy back under center and make sure that he's really past the toe.
B
I'm probably. I think I. I probably still go with Purdy.
A
I think I do. If I have the ability because I.
C
Having him on a bench.
A
Correct.
C
Right. Because I do think Purdy's coming back.
B
So we just don't know if it's this week, next week, the week after. Later than that. Yeah.
A
One quarterback leagues. If Brock. If this is my backup quarterback, I'd probably stick with Brock Purdy because I already have a starter that I probably believe in. If this is a super flex league and this is going to be my second or third quarterback. Is there any reason why you would feel like. Give me to use the phrase that I just learned this year. Would you rather have one in the hand? Because you know J.J. mcCarthy is going to start the next couple of games over flex league.
B
I don't think J.J. mcCarthy, what's the.
C
Saying that you learned?
A
Or Brock Purdy's bush.
C
It's a bird in the hand versus two in the bush.
A
That's what it was.
C
Yeah.
A
Okay.
C
I want to make sure you get that correct.
A
One in the hand versus two in the bush. A bird in the bush. Okay, guys, come on. This is not my thing. This is why the punishment is. You have to say like five big words. If I ever lose star the week.
B
This is a single quarterback league. I would rather stash Brock Purdy even with injury uncertainty.
A
Can I ask you, though, do you believe that Mac Jones deserves a starting spot in the NFL with what you've seen from him this year?
B
Yes. But if Brock Purdy is healthy.
A
No, no, no. Yeah. I'm not talking about the 49ers, but like, I think that going into next.
B
Year, they need to make a decision after the season. He is, I think, inarguably one of the most valuable backup quarterbacks in the league.
A
Yeah.
B
But if next year someone says, we'll trade you a third round pick for Mac Jones in the off season, do you say yes? Given the fact that Mac, who is going to be a free agent the following year anyways, Yep. Could theoretically not play at all for you next year.
A
Sure.
B
Right. If Brock Purdy stays healthy, Mac Jones will not be playing for you.
A
And then you're just paying a bunch of money to a really good backup quarterback, actually.
B
Yeah.
C
Yeah.
A
So.
C
But yeah, you cannot underestimate the value of that. If anybody's Learned that to 49ers, just look at the past 10 years. Right. So you're not going to want him. Him to go anywhere.
A
Honestly. And this is another example. I mean, backup quarterbacks are so valuable when you need them. If the Bengals had a defense, Joe Flacco would be keeping the Bengals alive in a playoff hunt to get Joe Burrow back.
B
Unfortunately, Joe is starting somewhere next year as well.
A
I would think that as well.
C
It's a shout out to Joe Burrow. I mean, Joe.
A
Joe Flacco.
C
Joe Flacco.
A
All the Joes. Just Joe's in general for you.
C
But Joe Flacco, my goodness.
A
Yeah, it's been great. All right.
C
Be that age where your kids are all old enough that they're playing fantasy and challenging you and all these things, and you are still crushing it.
A
Like, oh, I hope your daughters get to do that. They get to watch you give out fantasy advice sometime when they're old enough to realize what daddy's job is and.
C
They'Re old enough to play and like.
A
Exactly.
C
Yeah. Pretty soon they'll be in the league beating up on their dad.
A
That's right. Oh, how fun will that be? All right, that's gonna do it for us today. Thanks for hanging out with us on this Tuesday. Fun as it always is, is today's show was presented by Little Caesars. We're going to be back tomorrow with Mike Clay. Don't forget to love each other and be kind to yourself. You deserve it. We'll see you guys on Wednesday. And gay waiver claims in.
B
Yeah.
