Very excited to be here. As we are contractually obligated to do, we are going to start the show talking about some LA sports as Freddie Freeman with a walk off homer in the 18th.
B
Oh my gosh. Hero. Second time. What an incredible game. I am delirious.
C
Yeah.
B
Because I did not sleep last night.
A
Now you know what it's like to be an east coast sports watcher for these late games.
B
The worst. I will pay what I do in taxes just for that.
A
To stay on the west coast just.
B
For that benefit of time difference.
C
When I saw Liz this morning for the first time, she was. I was like, how's it going? She's like, good. Just powering through here. A little tired. I was like, yeah, those Monday Night Football games really get you on the east coast, right? She was like, oh, Monday Night Football.
A
Yeah.
C
It's like you who goes to bed at the end of Monday Night Football over there. How about the game that ended for five minutes ago? The Dodgers and the Blue Jays. What a ridiculous game.
B
18 innings. Absolutely.
C
They played two baseball games last night.
B
And then let me also say that Field was like, wait, are you like an adopted Dodgers fan now? I thought you were a Cubs fan. I was like, yeah, it's a whole prize. I'd be rooting for the Cubs had they offed the brewers like I was hoping they would, but here we are.
A
All right, well, that's our little homage to Eric and Tristan for Fantasy Focus Baseball. That's what you get for today. We're going to dive into football for the rest of today. We got a Monday football recap. We got week nine waivers. We're going to have a lot of fun on today's show. So let's get into it. First and foremost, our friends over at trophy smack head on over to trophysmac.com promo code focus10 to you to get 10% off of the order you put in there. And our buddy Eric Moody hanging out in chat right now in case you want to hang out in the YouTube chat with him. Let's talk about some Monday night football. My friends, commanders and the Chiefs, when we were watching this game, Liz and I had dinner last night. We paid off one of the bets that we had. We had a Lions, Bears bet earlier this season. So she took me out to dinner, which was very nice.
B
Hibachi.
C
Oh, Hibachi. I was gonna ask, like, what. What. What level of ambiance did you guys.
A
Oh, no, it was. Yeah, it was Hibachi.
B
Well, Daniel won the bet, so it was his choice, whatever he wanted to do, and he chose Hibachi. And I think wife included.
C
Yes.
A
Rosie came.
C
Was she covered as well?
A
She ended up being covered. She did. I was not expecting that. But Liz. Liz was very generous. So we went.
B
All that sake they had. They gave me two bottles of sake, and I was like, I'll pay for everybody. I'll pay for the whole table.
C
Oh, gosh, don't ever go out with.
B
Me and let me do that again.
A
Honestly, though, they were right. More saki, more happy. That's how it worked with. But all that to say we ended that. Ended up going out to watch the first half of the game, and then we were like we were going to head home afterwards. But we watched the first half of the game, and it was like, is this a game?
B
Oh, the Commanders game was on at the same time.
A
Correct. But it felt like the Commanders were in this for the first two quarters of the football game because the Chiefs did not.
C
That's the game at halftime.
A
Absolutely. Field. Did you have any main takeaways? Because outside of the first half, where it felt a little bit dull, second half is really where the Chiefs came alive.
C
The Chiefs did come alive in the second half, and we can certainly talk about that. But I came into this week and I talked about how one of my biggest concerns for a player going into the game, going into a game this week was Bill Crosby Merritt, Jakori Krosky, Merritt. And seven catches all season for Bill Crosby Merritt. I thought this game was going to end up being something like a 21 point deficit. I just thought that it would happen like basically from the first kickoff, not kickoff of the second half, but last night in a game in which the commanders eventually lost 28 to seven. Here's the stat line for Bill Crosby Merritt. Nine carries for 25 yards and zero catches. 2.5 fantasy points over his last three games. Bill Crosky merits yards per attempt, 3.6, 2.5 and 2.8. He has 61 plus 33 plus 25 rushing yards over the past three games, which means he has under 40 rushing yards per game. In that same span. He has a total of 6 receiving yards. Really excited about what this player's long term future looks like. Fantasy though for, for a team that's now three and five, they have to play in a game in which you believe they are likely to control the game and have a lead or at least be playing competitively. They play Seattle this upcoming Sunday night. We'll see whether Jaden Daniels is available. He is falling into the category of at the very top guys like Derrick Henry. Then you've got players a la JK Dobbins who get a lot of rushing volume and have some big weeks, but they have to find the end zone to really pay off because of minimal receiving value. But Bill Crosby Merritt falls into this category as well. And if this team continues to struggle, they're now three and five, then he is not going to have value other than being a very touchdown dependent. Flex.
B
Well, and his lack of pass catching appeal I think definitely lowers his ceiling. Especially on a night in which Jeremy McNichols led the team in targets with six. He's the pass catching back. And wait a minute.
A
He led the team in targets and we got both Terry McLaurin and Debo Samuel back.
B
He tied the team for a lead in target. Zach ertz also got six, but between the three of them, six times three, that's 18 I believe.
A
There you go. Yeah, good math. Nice.
B
So yes, like he tied the team lead. He it was believed the team leader in receiving yards. Let me double check.
A
Yes.
C
At one point he was the the leader. You guys are out. So you guys probably didn't have access.
A
To the ball game.
C
But at one point Joe Buck very sarcastically was like, as Everybody expected, Jeremy McNichols the leading receiver in the game.
B
Y McLaren did have some incredible plays.
C
They made cool plays last.
A
Yes, yes.
C
They were only cool.
A
We said that while we were watching it. It was like that. Yes, he definitely got his thigh down. That was a catch. Like there was some, there was some very cool things there. Like I would like to see what this offense can look like with Jaden Daniels back under center running at full health because it's nothing against Marcus Mariota, but I want to know with both. Well, it's not anything against Marcus Mariota, but with both of these wide receivers back hoping to unlock Bill Crosky, Merritt, like Jaden Daniels needs to be under center for this offense to be able to run.
C
Yeah. And so for now I think that both Deebo and Tara McLaren are treated as like somewhere between wide receiver 20 and 25. We're talking about this, the confidence index, Liz. Like both of those guys can be started for sure. Are they the kind of guys that are bound to win you your week every single week? I would not say that either of them falls into that category.
A
I would love to ask you this question because on the other side of that coin you're talking about confidence index. I got right now all the confidence in the world in both Patrick Mahomes and Rasheed Rice and Travis Kelce after a classic Travis Kelce game. We'll talk about that. You. But can I know even me saying that. Do you have a good level of confidence in Xavier Worthy with a couple of games with Rasheed Rice back?
C
I have no. I do. I mean when he at the beginning of the season for those three plays that he was actually on the field. I will continue to hearken back to this comment that was made by Kurt Warner and Rich Eisen. They were calling that first game on YouTube all the way back in Brazil, all the way back in week one they were saying Andy Reid was telling us and how the passing game is going to be built around Xavier Worthy until Rasheed Rice returns. Three plays later he runs into Travis Kelce. He's out for the next what, two or three weeks. He's come back and he had a couple of decent games there. But yes, he has quieted down over the past couple of games. Mike gave us some optimism this past week. Seven targets for Xavier Worthy. So this is not a player that's not startable. I just think if you were hoping for like those pop off weeks, that's it. We've yet to see it from Xavier Worthy. He's yet to reach 100 receiving yards in a game this season. I think he's found the end zone just once this year. By the way, that was like a two yard touchdown catch. So Xavier Worthy definitely much more of like wide receiver three at best. Right now? Yeah.
A
It feels very obvious when you look at this, this team. Patrick Mahomes wants to get the ball to one wide receiver, and that's Rasheed Rice. Like he. He was waiting for him to come back. Yes, absolutely. So this offense kind of feels chalk. I don't want to start any of the running backs if I can help it. I want to start Patrick Mahomes. I'm in on Travis Kelce because of how bad the tight ends are this year, in spite of him being my bust coming into the season. Rasheed Rice is back. Like it. I felt like the Chiefs are the Chiefs. What else do you have to say about him?
C
Not much.
A
That's it.
B
I looked at the backfield in Kansas City. It remains a complete rbbc. It's frustrating. Isaiah Pacheco led in terms of tote, in terms of carries. I do believe he was slightly more efficient than Kareem Hunt. But who has the goal line? Kareem Hunt, once through the air, his only target, his only catch, but yes, through the air. And of course, that rushing score, which almost didn't go his way because it was initially ruled to be a Rasheed Rice touchdown, but his elbow was down. So when. When they needed someone to power through, it was Hunt. So I think, you know, next week's and I know you guys will dive into more of this further on in the week, but week nine, they face the Bills, obviously very soft against the run. So if we're looking at early rankings, I'll probably have both of these running backs because of the matchup in like, RB3 territory. Probably be based on Volu Pacheco a little ahead since we don't want to chase touchdowns. But there is a definite Rashard Smith also in the mix. Like, there's just Rashi Rice in the mix. There's so much going on. It's a very. It's a very socialist approach to the backfield. Lots of. I don't know if I should have said that. Lots of opportunities.
A
There we go.
C
We're not live. It's okay. It's just frustrating because I actually texted Daniel when the Chiefs had the ball at like the three yard line last night. And I was like, I don't know how, but just get ready for a Kareem Hunt touchdown. And then like, here's a target for Xavier Worthy. Here's a target for Travis Kelce. Here's a target for Rasheed Rice. Oh, actually there wasn't a Rasheed Rice target because he caught every target thrown.
A
That's right.
C
But like, here's opportunities for other fantasy relevant guys. And then, oh, here's Kareem Hunt marching into the end zone for six points. That could have gone to somebody else.
A
Somebody that could have used it. Speaking of using it, though, I want to end out Monday Night Football. I needed at least seven points from Xavier Worthy to beat Joe Fortenbaugh. We got that. And our friend field Minister Yates needed at least 10 fantasy points from the Chiefs defense. Did we get there Field?
C
As we turn to our game of the week in the fantasy focus show league. We did, baby. Never a doubt. A late interception from the Chiefs defense helps save. And it was just a funky one. Right? Because I needed nine from the Chiefs defense. But because there's no decimal score in.
A
Like with defenses you need like 9.029.
C
No, I needed like 8.04.
A
Is that what it was?
C
Okay, but you can't get eight and a half. You can only get eight or nine. So that nine number was really, really relevant. They end up with 11 last night. Two interceptions, a couple of sacks. The interception which at the very beginning of the game, Deebo Samuel had a wide receiver screen which he just dropped. And it's fell right into the hands of Mike Dana. Ended up being one of the critical plays to help me seal the victory. So I am now 7 and 9. My running backs are cheeks. That being said, cheeks. They are. We can say that, right?
B
I know, I know. But you didn't say boot.
A
Yeah, no.
C
Just kissed cheeks. Yeah.
B
You were efficient if nothing else. I appreciate it.
C
So we get the win. I'm sorry. To Christina, one of our great producers.
B
Oh, that's who that was the bus.
C
Yep. Who had a monster week from Breece Hall. Drake May is the best player on my team right now. I did the BTJ Nico Collins double dip at the beginning. I think I had pick 11 out of 12.
A
So you won that game without either of your top two wide receivers.
C
Yes. So we put it out there this week. That being said, not dead yet, folks.
A
That's right.
C
Yes, that's right. I do this thing where I dig myself into holes to begin the season and we dig ourselves out of those holes because I want to challenge. And I think we now have a look at the standings.
A
Yeah, we're going to look at the rest of the scoreboard first. Then we'll dive into the standings.
C
Scoreboard look then.
A
But I absolutely demolished Liz Debo. Samuel L. Jackson beat team Loza by 30 points. Trophy smack win a close one against Jamar Miguel.
C
The Titans.
A
Yeah. 157.3 to 153.5. That was a really close one. Baker's dozen was a close one too. Just barely beating out Stefania Bell by just over three fantasy points. Some really close ones in this one this week. And when we look at the standings, overall Jamarmageddon 12 and four trophy smack, 11 and five. Our producer, David Presley. Is that David Presley?
C
It's a producer? Yep.
A
10 and six. Eric Moody in our chat right now, nine and seven. Eric Moody is Baker's Dozen at eight and eight. Kiss the Baby. Our producer Tyler at eight and eight. And I'm also at eight and eight. And then the rest of us.
C
Yeah.
A
Seven and nine for Mike Clay Field Yates.
B
Oh, my gosh.
A
Liz, don't worry about it.
B
Yeah, I'm a little worried about it.
C
But we're having this. But Liz likes fun.
B
I do like fun. Also, in my defense, I didn't draft that team.
A
Oh, well, you know what? We had a fill in drafter one.
B
I think I was on a plane, honestly, flying here.
A
Kevin James Pulsifer. What's his middle name? I don't know his middle name.
B
Daniel.
C
Kevin James Kevin.
A
Well, I was just like, is it Daniel?
C
It'd be amazing if it was.
A
Kevin James.
C
Kevin Durant. Pulsifer.
A
Yeah, that's it.
C
Kevin Spacey. Pulsifer.
B
Kevin lebron.
C
Kevin Bacon.
A
Pulsifer.
C
Yeah.
B
Kevin Ohtani.
A
I like it.
C
Kevin from the office. Pulsifer. Just keep going on famous Pulsifers.
A
All right, well, this show league is really. Oh, Home alone.
C
That's a good one.
A
That's a good one.
B
After I bust through him. Thank you guys for shining on him for a little bit.
A
Yeah, I got to give him a little pleasure.
C
So we were talking about this though, with Liz and I have been talking about this for a few weeks off the air and sort of reference it on the air. And we are not guaranteeing this because it would require, in my opinion, it should require 12 votes out of 12 to do this. But there's talk of, like, do we have a loser punishment that we pay off and then whoever loses, like, we turn it into a video that we play during week eight.
A
Absolutely.
C
So we're talking about it. We're discussing A, whether we do that and B, if we do do it, what do we do?
B
Field is such a gentleman because he knows the standings and he looked at me, he's like, I'm just gonna ask you this. I don't wanna ask you on air if it's. It would be okay. And I was like, yeah, girl. Let's kind of.
A
Let's just do it.
B
Whatever.
C
You like fun, so it's awesome.
B
I do like fun. I mean, if it's the Waffle House challenge. You know what don't want to do? Field, I'm going to say this right now. Do not make me eat, like, raw eggs and then. And then run the combine. I don't want to vomit on screen.
C
Yeah, yeah. No, I think it has to be something relatively pleasant.
B
Can I. I'll vote if I'm in last place and I remain in last place also. Does pulse have to do this with me?
A
Yes, I think so. Absolutely.
B
Teammates. So I would love any kind of hot sauce challenge. I welcome it.
C
Yeah.
B
Bring the heat.
A
The heat.
C
I gotta be honest with you, Liz. I will bring. Someone else can bring the hot sauce. I will bring you the colostomy bag. Is that what you call. I was gonna say I was gonna bring you some of. Not Tums. What's the stuff that you take?
B
Pepto.
A
Pepto, Bismol?
C
Nope. It's the stuff that you take.
B
Imodium.
C
Amodium.
A
There you go.
C
Stomach into it. There we go.
A
Got it.
C
It just takes your stomach and turns it into a big knot. Right. To close it off from.
A
Is that what it does?
B
I thought it coated your stomach.
C
Whatever it does.
B
I don't know, man.
C
I took like a gallon of that after the hot sauce challenge last year, and I still had poopy pants.
A
And with that, we're gonna dive into the Week 8 waiver wire presented by Imodium.
C
This week, my daughters are like, daddy, you need me to change your diaper? I'm like, what?
A
That's so funny. That's hilarious. Teams on by this week, we got the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
C
So two like. I mean, you're talking about two very fantasy relevant teams. The second part of that equation.
A
Yeah. And two less fantasy relevant teams to start the beginning of that equation. We're gonna start as we always do with priority pickups. You may ask yourself, Daniel, what's a priority pickup to you? Go ahead.
C
What's a priority pickup?
A
Thank you, Field.
B
Yeah, I appreciate that, Daniel.
A
The question is if a priority pickup to meet. Was that an ice cream machine that we just heard in the background? Okay. I thought so. I love that. To me, a priority pickup is somebody that I would either one be starting this week or a role emerged in which somebody that got hurt or something happened in which they are going to have a larger role moving forward. We need to Plan on. So for me this week, priority pickups. Tyrone Tracy had a role emerge because of Cam Scatterboo. Unfortunately, as we know, Cam Scatterboo done for the season. Tyrone tracy rostered in 42% of leagues last year. If you remember, Devin Singletary started the season as the lead running back. Tyrone Tracy took over as the lead back in week five and from then on it was clearly his backfield. Seven games with at least 14 fantasy points, four games with over 100 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns. He's not the same player. It's not the exact same offense. However, cam Scatterboo has six games with over 13 fantasy points in this version of the Giants offense. Again, not the same player. But the giants draw the 49ers this week. They've been mid pack against the running back position so far this year. So Tyrone Tracy just because of the running back spot. No, Cam Scatter Boo is going to fall into our mid tier RB2 conversation probably this week against the 49ers.
C
I'm not going to react. I am zipping up my lips if you are watching the stream. I've been doing that for a couple moments here because I believe Liz has a fact versus a feeling thought surrounding Tyrone Tracy later on in the show.
A
All right, love that. We'll save it for a little bit. I don't find out.
C
Did it change?
B
No.
A
No.
C
Okay.
A
It did not.
C
Okay.
B
I have all the thoughts field.
A
All of them.
C
So you're saving him as well, right?
A
Yes.
B
Yes.
C
I don't know. Do you want to get him out now or do you want to. No, no, no, no, no, no. Okay.
B
I dig it.
A
So he is our number one because a role materialized. He's clearly going to be the lead back. I don't think Devin Singletary is worth adding in this backfield. I don't think that the number two running back for the New York Giants really holds enough value.
C
I don't think.
A
Correct. Not a fantasy relevant role. How about a guy that maybe you're not expecting to hear from? Some weird roster things happened this last week. I called you field because I was like I wanted to talk about the Arizona Cardinals backfield and then after we talked on the phone, the Cardinals ended up releasing Michael Carter, which feels like one of these, I don't want to call it roster manipulation, but I'm going to call it roster manipulation kind of things where it's like they released the guy now. Seems like they could just add him back at the end of the week kind of A thing.
C
I mean, how nerdy do you want me to get right now on why they did?
A
I love when you get nerdy about.
B
Football stuff for real.
A
Dive in.
C
So the NFL players are paid once a week on Tuesday during the season. Okay. If you are on the active roster, you are paid an active roster rate. If you cut the player prior to. If he's on the roster at 4:01pm Eastern Time on Monday, he is technically employed on Tuesday, which means he gets his paycheck on Tuesday. When you cut a player effective Monday at 4pm Eastern time, he is no longer employed on Tuesday. So in this app, I know it sucks for Michael Carter. It happens a lot. Teams do this all the time. I am, I don't. I'm not definitively stating this is why the Cardinals did it. But oftentimes when a player is cut on Monday, a lot of times it's hey, if you have him on the roster until Tuesday and you're going to eventually cut him anyways.
A
Yeah.
C
You have already paid him for the week when he's on the roster on Tuesday. So you will frequently say that a player see a player cut on Monday who is going to eventually be cut and then brought back to the roster later on in the week.
A
Gotcha. I did not. That's why I asked. This is why we have field on the show.
B
That's incredible knowledge. I mean you got to slim those margins, baby.
A
That's. Yeah.
C
I don't. I am, I am not saying with certainty that that's the reason why they cut.
A
Correct.
C
Maybe like hey, we're not going to sign him at all. Maybe we had to. I don't know why, but I didn't see a corresponding roster move.
A
So this morning I think his assumption.
B
Is he will be back by Thursday.
A
I kind of think that, I mean.
C
They could sign him back to the practice squad by Wednesday at noon when they practice. Yeah. So. But yes, it's not uncommon to see a team do this. I know it sucks for Michael Carter. On the positive side, you know, this is a team that claimed him off of waiver has been loyal to him. So maybe this is all understood by all parties.
A
Well, with all of that being said and thank you for all that. Field J To the guy that I was going to talk about that you may not realize. Cardinals were on a buy last week. Right. So a little bit out of sight, out of mind the two weeks before that. Bam. Knight was the 1A in this offense. It wasn't Michael Carter. Michael Carter was the one B when you look at this. Bam Night. Three straight games with over nine and a half fantasy points. Dallas, which is who they get.
C
That's it's the key.
A
That's it. They've given him the fourth most fantasy points to running back so far this year. They have some performances of note that I can mention. Cam scatter Boo had 13.9 points against him. That's pretty good. J.K. dobbins had 14.1, Breeze hall had 17 and a half, Saquon had 18 and a half, R.J. harvey had 24, Josh Jacobs had 31.7 and Rico Dowdle had a whopping 33.9 fantasy points. Every starting running back that has played against this team has absolutely smashed. So Bam Knight, even though he was straight up just unrostered because of the bye week, you can take him right from the waiver wire, put him directly into your fantasy lineup. He's going to be a low end RB2 or high end flex play for us this week against the Dallas.
B
Decent volume too. Double digit carries and back to back games and at least two tar in both of those efforts.
A
While I was looking at that and I had called field about this, I had noticed that Trey Benson had fallen below the 50% threshold of roster ship. So when you look at Trey Benson not eligible to come back this week. Right. Still on IR for one more week, but eligible to come back next week. It was a four to six week timeline for that injury. So if you want to get ahead of it and not fight with anybody on your waiver wire, grab Trey Benson this week so you're not having to put in a different waiver claim next week just to get ahead of the game.
C
Yeah. And while I do like Bam Knight, like Daniel does for this upcoming week, I. I don't think he or anybody has done enough to make me feel like Trey Benson will be anything other than the man once he's healthy.
A
Absolutely.
C
After this ir.
B
I mean, that's the rule of draft pedigree, right?
A
Yes.
C
Yeah.
A
Yes.
C
Yep.
A
Yep. Bam Knight is the guy for this week alone. Trey Benson, if you grab him, will be the guy for the rest of the season for yourself. Fellas, it's time to step up your grooming. A
Let's talk about some streaming quarterbacks. Priority pickup. If I was going to stream A guy is going to be Sam Darnold this week. Okay, he had a buy in week eight. Week seven was a tough one against the Texans too. Let's not forget that. Like that Texans team is so good. But this offense has been building four straight games with at least 16 fantasy points back to back games over 20 fantasy points. And we just walked. Watched the Commanders. I realize it's Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, but we just watched the Commanders again just have a quarterback absolutely throw the ball all over the field on them. Three touchdowns, almost 300 passing yards. I think Sam Darnold is going to be the guy. If I had to choose someone this week, give me Sam Darnold as a streaming option against the Washington Commanders. If you need a quarterback here in week nine, if you need another one and Sam Darnold not available, why not throw a dart on Joe Flacco? Because the guy just keeps throwing touchdowns, doesn't use his legs. He's 40. I'm not even sure that he has legs anymore.
B
No, he has legs.
A
Does he have legs?
C
No, you're right.
A
He had like a 13 yard run. I was getting A little nervous because he found the end zone on a on a one yard rushing touchdown. Not quite the 25 we needed for me to shave my beard, but it was very fun. But Joe Flocko, also a streaming quarterback that you can add this week if you need somebody.
B
This is the matchup against the Bears.
A
Yes, your Bears who gave up 30.
B
Points to Tyler Huntley. You know Tyler Huntley led Ravens.
C
I was going to say. Wait, did he get 30?
B
No, no, no.
C
There's a lot of.
B
Huntley led Ravens.
C
It was a decent day. Actually.
A
Tyler Huntley scored 16.7 fantasy points against him for what's worth. So you would think. If Tyler Huntley can get there, then I would think that Joe Flacco, who has gotten over 18 fantasy points in three straight, could probably do some damage as well.
C
I'm going to refrain from further thoughts once again because we have some Liz Boza.
A
Yes, we do.
C
Versus feelings coming up.
A
All right, I'm going to rip through a couple of deeper league targets. Those are my priority targets. Guys that are either going to be starting this week or someone that you need to be able to have because a role emerged. My deeper league targets, I got two running backs because of injury, but they're both on by this week. Dylan Sampson, a reminder. Quinton Judkins got banged up. Just in case something happens over the buy and you need a Browns running back where Quintean Judkins doesn't come out and play in Week 10, Dylan Sampson would be the running back that I would want. Same conversation for Saquon Barkley, who got banged up. We assume that everything's going to be okay coming out of the buy, but just in case Tank Bigsby ripped off a couple of big runs looked really good for that Eagles backfield. If there is no Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby is the guy that you want. But like I said, both of those teams are on a buy. So if you're adding them this week, you know you're getting a zero. They're just taking up a spot on your bench. It's for future things. Kyle Manungai. Liz, can we talk about this guy for a minute? Because Kyle Manungai, the last couple of games has really seen an increase in his snapshare. Him and DeAndre Swift are basically splitting touches in this offense now. Week six, DeAndre Swift had 60% of the touches, Kyle Manangai had 30%. Week seven, Swift had 52, Menungai had 46 and week eight it was a 5045 split. So the last two weeks. They're basically just splitting time with each other. Have you watched as a Bears fan, how do you feel about Kyle Menungai in this offseason?
C
Safe space, to be clear.
A
Yes, it is. It is.
B
I'm actually. Well, I don't want to say because I have plenty of shares of DeAndre Swift, but I am not surprised to see Swift being spelled in such a way or to see Ben Johnson using two running backs though it is interesting because there's skill sets are not as complimentary as obviously Gibbs and Montgomery were in Detroit. But I thought it was interesting. So the argument against manang guy's potential ascent two weeks ago was that there was a blowout against New Orleans. Right. And this was really a score dependent usage situation. This was game script dictated. But it was interesting. At one point during the game at Baltimore, I think the score was 6, 10 ish. The Bears were down and both Menungi and Swift had an equal number of carries. So I think when you looked at the game script, that argument from the prior week kind of moved away. We are looking at an RBBC and it also is not surprising, not just because of Ben Johnson's proclivity to using two backs, but because when Ben Johnson was in Detroit, he obviously dealt with Swift and that was kind of the last yes field you can finish. He observed what Swift was maybe good at and limited by and I think he is finding a solution to solve for that long term Chicago word of the day.
C
Can I get a proclivity definition?
B
Proclivity. Do you want me to define it for you know what proclivity means?
A
I don't know what proclivity means.
B
I understood it in the context tendency towards.
A
Okay, thank you very much. I appreciate it.
C
I just feel like you're so eloquent when you speak that I like to understand what you're actually saying.
B
I was real eloquent after all of that. Saki happy.
A
Yeah, that's right. That's true.
C
Me want fantasy points. Go Patrick Mahomes. Go. Go Rasheed Rice. Go. Me want more fantasy points for.
A
That was exactly what it was. Yes.
C
Here we go.
A
We got all the fantasy points for Xavier Worthy that we needed. Actually. We were good with that.
C
That's right. We need seven, right?
A
We got the seven.
C
I want. I want.
A
Who's another guy?
C
I want Debo Samuel to not drop passes anymore.
A
Oh, gosh. We needed some of that.
C
How was that?
B
Well, that was perfect.
C
That's how it was.
A
Very close to what it sounded like. It was, it was. It was Pretty similar. I'll close the book on Kalamanungai. He's not yet inside our top 30. The running back situation he's getting some of the ability on the Sorry. He's getting chances on the field but has yet to turn his time on the field into production for us to put him in our fantasy lineup. However, because he is trending in that direction of getting more usage, he's someone that you need to at least be aware of and in deeper leagues. I think Kyle Menungai should probably be on benches as well as and I say this every single week. I'm just going to be quick about it. The Tajie Spears, the Tyler Algiers, all of these insurance running backs field we've seen so many guys get hurt and then someone else has decided to come up and be a part of this backfield. Right?
C
Like I'm not so sure Sphere shouldn't be higher up in the priority myself.
A
36.4% available right now rostered in 36% of leagues. The only reason I didn't have him as a priority AD is just because it feels like that that Titans offense.
C
Like investing anything in that Titans offense is tough to do right now.
A
But he's a great pass catcher out of the back. That's the one thing about Tajie Spears. If they're going to be down a bunch we talked about game script seems like they have to throw a lot. Tajie Spears absolutely worth a dart throw. All right, couple of wide receivers I'll go through real quick if you want to do that. Packers wide receiver roulette we got a new one because Christian Watson came back last week.
C
4 for 85, 4 for 84.
A
12 and a half fantasy points, played 55% of the snaps which was great. First week back. You love to be able to see that. I have no confidence in being able to tell you that he is going to be the wide receiver one in this Green Bay packers receiving core. I do have confidence in saying that he's going to be a part of this wide receiving core and Jordan Love will find him. Sometimes I don't know which one of these guys is going to be the guy but if you need someone Christian Watson will be that guy. Kayshawn booty rostered in 30% of leagues. How many times have we done this? Three straight games with five or fewer targets. Three straight games with a touchdown and at least 13 and a half fantasy points. It's like if you need a dart throw. Exactly. That's what it is. If you need a Dart throw. You can throw it. Both of the Texans wide receivers I think are potentially deeper league ads as well. All three of them. Xavier Hutchinson, Jaden Higgins and Jalen Noel. Fields, you started Jalen Noel and got a win this week in the fantasy Focus Show League when you had to rely on really good.
C
Yeah. And I think there's a chance now I don't know have. I don't have information on. On either of Nico Collins or Christian Kirk. It feels when Nico comes back he's.
A
He's Nico Collins.
C
But there's a chance that Christian Kirk just gets regular relegated to backup duties because Jalen Noel has been that good for the Houston Texans.
A
Yep. Playing that slot. I love his situation there. So something to be able to look at. We mentioned the Titans field and honestly is it.
C
This one has me Chima Ray dk. Chima Ray dk.
A
Yeah, he's.
C
Yep.
A
I agree. He looked. He's had a couple of nice games, had some pockets of plays here and there. And then this last game he looked really good. Actually outperformed Alec IO Manor in this last one in week eight. So both him and Alec IO Manor potentially deeper league targets as well. And I got one more for you.
B
Is it Chigokonkwo? It's not who ended as the tight.
A
End 13, but it should be Chigokonkwo. I think is what I'm realizing now is I should have added Chigo conquo in here. Troy Franklin Field. Just wait. Troy Franklin, Week 8, played the Dallas Cowboys. One thing about the Dallas Cowboys is they're bad against pass catchers. They have allowed the second most fantasy points per game to wide receivers. We know that you cannot trust Troy Franklin week in and week out. He is a dart throw. We've been talking about this, right? He's one of those guys in Week nine they get the Houston Texans don't like that. I don't want to play him against the Texans as they've allowed the fifth fewest fantasy points to wide receivers so far this year.
C
Okay.
A
However, in week 10, a week in which Jamar Chase, T. Higgins, Ceedee Lamb, George Pickens, Rasheed Rice, Xavier Worthy and the Titans wide receivers are on a buy. Troy Franklin gets the Las Vegas Raiders, who have allowed the fourth most fantasy points per game to wide receivers. And it's basically a repeat of this Dallas Cowboys situation. Now, mind you, it is still a dart throw. I'm not saying it's not a dart throw, but even though you don't want Troy Franklin this next week against the Houston Texans. If you have any of those wide receivers in week 10 and you want to get ahead of it, but for a matchup that you like, Troy Franklin against the Las Vegas Raiders, I think is another spot where you could throw a dart at a potential guy that should have a really good matchup.
B
So I'm so impressed with your preparedness, by the way.
A
Excuse me.
B
You are doing that look ahead was fantastic.
A
Appreciate that. Hopefully we don't need it.
B
Well, Troy Flankin. Troy Franklin also at least eight targets in three of his last five.
A
I love that. I would love to see him just get more involved in this offense and become, like, a priority target for Bo Nixon. It just feels like they kind of do this thing that a lot of teams are doing right now. They spread it out. Who is open, who's who right now is giving us the ability to find them out there. And it's not like they got a bunch of people a lot. Pat Bryant has even started coming out like he caught a touchdown this last week.
C
And Cortland Sutton, who dropped a touchdown last week. I know Franklin and Norvin Mims, they've got multiple running backs. They got multiple tight ends. This is Sean Payton. This is what he wants.
A
That's how it works. But like I said, look ahead to week 10. If you have any of those wide receivers. I'm planting my flag now on Troy Franklin as a 10 dart throw that you need. All right, that's gonna do it for the Week 9 waiver wire. Liz Loza, I'm not necessarily gonna turn the show over to you.
C
I am.
B
Well, okay.
C
I'm turning the show over.
A
I will. But I do want to say this is not an official Facts versus Feelings. This is an homage to Facts versus Feelings, which is obvious. Exactly. Yes. Inspired by Facts versus Feelings, we're gonna run through some things. Our producers put these on here. We're gonna talk about whether or not these are real or not. Yes. Yes. We're gonna dive in here.
C
My bad. Liz was like, what are you talking about when you're saying these things? Okay.
A
Couple of topics here that we're going to debate. The very first one. Fact or feeling.
C
Okay.
A
Saquon Barkley, after last week's game, is back to being a top five running back for the rest of the season.
C
Liz, why don't you always kick off and then I can, and then we'll go from there?
A
I like that.
B
That is a big feeling for me. He came out of that game after. Yes. What I think clearing 150 scrimmage yards, two touchdowns, two touchdowns with a hamstring issue. Now I've been around Stefania Bell enough to know that those soft tissue issues tend to ling the team is going on by this week so there is time for recovery. But but Tank Bigsby, as you mentioned earlier, also looked rather spry. He ripped off a 20 plus yard run. He also managed, I believe, triple digit rushing totals in this effort. Something like that.
C
Nine carries for 105 yards.
B
There you go. Fewer than 10 carries and over a hundred rushing yards. So if I am thinking about not doing to Saquon what the team did last year and making him touch the ball over 480 times including the postseason and maybe thinking about a little, to use a word that is regularly employed in the NBA load management, I am thinking that maybe Bigsby gets a few more touches and there is some thought to making sure Barkley stays healthy. I also had a rather bold take at the top of the season that Barkley would not roi on his first his first round draft pedigree and I am sticking by that.
C
Yeah, I think it's feeling as well and Liz had a very, very logical explanation for it. I'm going to give you a much, I guess more succinct but hopefully logical explanation as well. To get into the top five you're going to have to obviously have a leg up over all but at least five of the, or at most five of the players in the field. Who are those five over any of these four players? Let's just start with the four.
A
Love this.
C
There's a core four. Christian McCaffrey, Jonathan Taylor, Bijan, Jameer Gibbs.
A
Nope.
C
All four of them we think clearly correct. Okay. They all clear him clearly on top of that. And this is just very, very simple. I should have put Devon Hn in there as well.
A
I was just going to say that.
C
Josh Jacobs you take ahead of him. There's six. So I'm going with feeling because I just gave you six at minimum that I would take over Saquon.
A
I agree with you there. I'd love to be able to see him get back into it. But as I mentioned and we'll dive into it more after this buy. He gets the Green Bay packers and Detroit Lions two tough run defenses. So we'll see not only with the hamstring but what he looks like once he comes. All right, next one here. Fact versus feeling. Joe Flacco is an elite fantasy quarterback. That is a must start from here on out.
C
Just very important parson here.
A
Flacco, fantasy, fantasy quarterback.
C
We all know he's an elite actual quarterback.
A
Yes, correct. Liz. Lowe's a factor feeling.
B
That is going to be a feeling for me as well. Just a little asterisk. He did pick up a shoulder injury in that one point loss against the jets. So just something to keep an eye on. Especially if we know he is a quarterback that doesn't have rushing upside. He needs the shoulder. I don't know if it's his throwing rushing upside.
A
He got in the end zone this.
B
Okay, you're right, he did manage rushing. Listen, I was all in on Zaddy Joe heading into.
A
Yes, sir, we talked about it and.
B
I do think he has streaming potential again this week against the Bears. Then the team is on by. But I think once we are out of the buys here, you're not starting Joe Flacco regularly. And so that is why ultimately this is a feeling.
C
I almost did the same thing where I brought you 10 to the table.
A
Right.
C
Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Jaden Daniels, went healthy. Drake maybe et cetera. Right. Jared Goff. Yeah, he's not quite there yet for me with Joe Flacco. His three finishes though, with the Bengals. 14th, 6th and 3rd.
A
Yep.
C
14Th, 6th and third.
A
18.7, 25.9, 24.3. Would you take if I said field you're going to get a starting quarterback? My line is raised. Last year I talked to you about how like I had a line at quarterback. Yeah. This year 18 is my line for starting quarterback.
C
So, yes, he's doing an amazing thing and most importantly, I think is that Joe Flacco has saved the season of Jamar Chase.
A
Oh my gosh.
C
That is the most important part to me, full stop.
A
He may have saved the season for the Cincinnati Bengals if they keep playing like this. He gives Joe a chance the other day. Yeah, yeah. A chance to be able to come back here. But.
C
But all that is great. He has 17 rushing yards in three games with Cincinnati and he's yet to throw a pick. We know things about Joe which include that Joe every once in a while tosses the old pig skin to the opposite team. So I'm super. I love Joe Flacco. Stands for all the right things. I hope he keeps on playing like we play in this dynasty super flex league. He is one of my very, very few backup quarterback options beyond Lamar and. And like I've survived that league because of backup quarterbacks, including Joe. And Joe has given me a real boost on that roster. But he's more like quarterback 15 to 20 than quarterback 10.
A
Agreed.
B
He is Special for fantasy because of the resuscitation to the Bengals offense with him under center.
A
He feels like one of those guys. It's not going to be fun and, and the upside is likely going to be limited. There's always a chance for a six touchdown game because you're throwing passes to Jamar Chase. Right. But Joe Flacco to me, feels Flacco, man, I'm. I get so many people upset at me because I say it wrong. I apologize to the Internet.
C
Say whatever you want to say, but.
A
I, I feel like he's a lock for 225 passing yards and two passing touchdowns every single week in this Cincinnati.
C
Might just be two interceptions brought along. That's fine.
A
You can throw some interceptions in there. But I feel like he's a, he's a multi touchdown guy with T. Higgins and all these guys in this one. All right.
C
And if Joe wants to keep playing, I really believe Joe will have a job next year as a starting quarterback somewhere.
A
Oh, yeah. I mean, if he wants to.
C
If he wants to keep playing.
A
Absolutely.
C
Right. Because he's played well enough where we've seen so many of these young quarterbacks bust that rather than going down that quarterback route in an uncertain draft class. Just sign Joe flacco, pay him 10 million bucks for a year and see if you can get solid quarterback play.
A
Absolutely.
C
All right.
A
All right. Let's keep on moving. Speaking of the Cincinnati Bengals fact or feeling, outside of Jamar Chase, there's no better fantasy wide receiver than lad McConkey.
C
Was this one of our producers who's a Chargers fan saying this?
A
I. This was. I did not.
B
Producers.
A
Yeah. Is there a better wide receiver?
C
Come on.
A
There's a handful of them.
B
That's a big feeling. So I'm going to take a note from Fields book and mention that Puka Nakua returns this week. We've got Justin Jefferson, Amon Ross, St Brown, JSN all still in the mix. I would prefer all of those players to Lad, who I do have to give flowers to for having a nice, what three. First slow first month of the season. Found the end zone in week five and then since then the momentum has gained for him.
A
So we had a big debate on this show as to which Chargers wide receiver we would prefer if we were choosing of the three. Are you at a spot now where we're deep enough in the season and you've seen enough from lad McConkey that if you were picking a Chargers wide receiver to start, he would be the one that you would plant your Flag on.
C
Yes.
B
And let me tell you why. Like watching lad score 20 plus yard touchdown on a go route. That's some perimeter wide receiver stuff. That's alpha stuff and I will take it.
A
Like it. I like it. Is there anybody. We had a conversation earlier too. Like, I'm not sure that we've revisited this, but we were talking about how many wide receivers a couple of weeks ago would you rather have over Jamar Chase? Now that Joe Flacco's here and we've got three weeks of sample size, is there a wide receiver that you want in fantasy football over Jamar Chase?
C
Puka, when healthy, certainly is on that list. Jackson, Smith and Jigba probably on that list.
A
Maybe on that list as well.
C
Amun Ra's right there.
A
So just basically the top five that we mentioned. But it's. I feel like you're almost splitting hairs even with Joe Flacco under center.
C
I'm going to state this. This is like my apologies in advance because I'm now becoming broken record syndrome here, Liz, as I believe, especially when we get to this point of the season.
A
Yep.
C
I'm less concerned about whether it's Jamar Chase or Puka Nkua. The bottom line is that we have identified these players as high end elite wide receivers who can win you your week all by themselves. Like, yeah, I could look an idiot if I say, yeah, Jamar Chase definitely better than Amun Ra or definitely worse than Amon Ra. Like, Amon ra could score eight more touchdowns and have 80 catches in the Lions final, whatever it is, 10 games and we'd be like, oh, I guess you probably prefer that guy. Which in our case. Right. The bottom line is that you like both of them plenty. You have them in your lineup each week. You feel like you have a decided competitive advantage over somebody whose wide receiver one is. I don't even know, whatever. Brian Thomas Jr. Because of how they.
A
Drafted coming into the season, doesn't feel great. Yep.
C
Yeah.
A
All right, let's move ahead. We got a couple more here. Liz Loza.
B
Yes, sir.
A
Fact versus feeling. Tyrone Tracy will put up Cam Scatter Boo type production.
B
This is another feeling because players are not one for one plug and plays very different skill set here. In fact, disparate if you will. Skill set here. Tyrone Tracy, a converted wide receiver. Cam Scatterboo. Not that, that. No, the opposite of that. In fact. Interesting that Devin Motor Singletary would be the number two theoretically behind Tyrone Tracy. I don't think. Also he. His skill set is not at all like Cam Scatter Booze like that was a very singular skill set. Obviously his chemistry and the way the backfield between he and Jackson dart aligned I think helped his production. It'll be interesting. Just I think if you're looking at Tyrone Tracy, you're looking at him in PPR and you're looking at his upside from a pass catching point of view more than his production as a rusher.
A
Yeah.
C
All right. So I think it's a feeling, but it's close to a fact. Oh, okay. Like it's closer to a fact than anything that we have discussed so far. I think he's going to be like a top 20ish running back in terms of value. Weeks five to 18, which Daniel, you kind of talked about how he took over for Motor Singletary early in the season last year. Year. Let's use that window. Here is where Devin Singletary ranked amongst running backs. 22nd in points per game, 20th in rushing attempts, 21st in touches and 20th in scrimmage yards. So like a low end RB2 kind of across the board in four very important categories.
A
The positive thing that you just said there, Field, is that it's not like he had a bunch of touches and wasn't getting production. He's outside the top 20 and is still getting decent production.
C
He was kind of in line with what his workload suggested.
A
Absolutely.
C
To me what's also important, and you talked about this earlier. Last year the Giants were amongst the worst offenses in the entire NFL. They averaged 16.1 points per game, real life points. This year they're averaging 21.6 points per game. Not an elite offense, but definitely a much better offense. So I'm in on Tyrone Tracy, a very valuable waiver ad for all the reasons that Daniel laid out earlier.
A
I have Cam Scatterboo right now. When I look at this, he's up on my screen. He averaged and unfortunately because the season is over, 16 fantasy points per game in his rookie season when Cam Scatterboost started. That's what Cam Scatter has been at in 2025, do you believe? And that was largely because of a 31 point game that he had. But he has a bunch of really nice games. If I said to you Tyrone Tracy is going to average 13 to 14 points per game, it's pretty close to scan. Like I agree with Field, I don't think he's going to reach Cam Scatter boo levels but he is the closest fact versus feeling question that we have had so far in this one.
B
The goal line equity between two players though is wildly fast, very different.
C
And let's just talk about this here for a second. There's a chance, a chance that this is the most valuable waiver wire AD we have all season.
B
Truth.
C
Not a guarantee by any stretch, but a chance. Think about some of the players that have gone down due to injury for the entirety of the year. James Conner went down. Trey Benson was already rostered in like 62% of leagues. It wasn't like Trey Benson was out there in 85% of leagues. We haven't seen too many wide receivers that have like totally broken through that we were talking about hardly at all during the preseason. There hasn't been a puka. There hasn't been a guy that's really broken that mold. Quarterback. The best answer would be Dan Dimes. And he has been good. Very clearly, very good. But he plays the position where we have decent depth, like people that already have. If you have any of you know, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, like you're not going to be able to start both of those guys at the same time. There is a chance that Tyrone Tracy presents about as much value as you'll see on the waiver wire all year, especially with Quinton Johnston's nose diversity over the past couple.
A
Dang it. Oh, this is why I was. You're so good at stuff field. That's the thing I was gonna say the one guy that might have been. Yeah would have been Quinton Johnston until he started to cool off over the last couple of games.

A
New episodes Tuesdays. All right, we got one more Liz Loza fact versus feeling Teteroa McMillan has now surpassed a Mecca Abuka as the top fantasy rookie wide receiver.
B
So I actually, because Field is so good at so many things, particularly rookies, I want him to start this one. Because I will admit that initially when I read the question, I thought feeling. And then when I started to look at the numbers, I was like, oh, this might be more facty.
C
Yeah, it's close this way. It is a conversation. Yes, he has crept up into the conversation. I still prefer a Mecca Abuka and I'll dive into why. But this season a MECCA Abuka has 63 targets. Ted Aero Macmillan, 63 targets.
A
That's pretty good.
C
34 catches for Abuka, 37 catches for McMillan. So a slightly higher catch rate for Ted Arrow McMillan. The difference is that Ameka Abuka is averaging way more yards per catch. It's like a three yards per catch difference. He's had more big play upside. He has five touchdowns to McMillan. Both of McMillan's touchdowns came in just one game against the Cowboys. Each of them has five games played this season outside the top 25 of wide receivers.
A
Okay.
C
It's amazing because doesn't it feel like a book has been like this? Unbelievable values like totally changed the course of your team. He has to a degree. He's got five weeks outside the top 25 for wide receiver, single digit fantasy.
B
Totals and back to back weeks.
C
So now he. But the good news is he has three top 13 weeks is a wide receiver. So what we were saying basically is that they have very similar volume. Abuka has better upside because it's a better offense that he plays in with a better quarterback and more vertical opportunities. So it's close. I still need a Mecca Abuka. The only factor that could change that is over the past couple of weeks Abuka has been on the injury report because of a hamstring. And if he comes out of the by and we say to ourselves maybe the hamstring is just holding him back, that would change it a little bit. But for now, to me it's a Mecca Abuka.
B
I love that he went through the this targets the same targets, the same very similar stats.
C
That was pretty similar.
B
Ultimately. I also came down in Abuka because of the talent under center that he is afforded.
A
That's, that's where I would have landed with things. If I look at it all and all things being equal, give me Baker Mayfield over Bryce Young and that's kind of, that's the tiebreaker for me. So I would go with a Mecca Abuka. I do feel there is a little bit of, of trepidation, nervousness around the idea that he's, I want him to come back healthy and not deal with his hamstring because he will be the Bucks alpha wide receiver again. Now with no Mike Evans, now with Chris Godwin still being hurt, like we're going to hope coming out of this buy that we're in a good spot.
C
As an aside because this is tied to the Panthers, I always think about like the biggest fantasy storylines of the week and inevitably like to the average fantasy football consumer it's, you know, is Jonathan Taylor going to get me 30 fantasy points once again, I think a lot of the people, the entirety of our population that watches and listens to this show is not your average fantasy football coach.
A
Agreed.
C
These are the loyalists. These are the best. These are the hardcore. These are the people that blood, sweat and tears. Absolutely ball knowers here.
A
That's right.
C
And so we're focused like a layer deeper that drew a look from you. Yeah, they know ball.
A
We're keeping on going. Yeah, they know ball.
C
The layer deeper on stories that I think are really important, even if they aren't going to be the kind of things that are discussed whatever at the typical water cooler in the office. Number one is if Brock Bowers returns this week, how quickly does he become Brock Bowers Capital B. Capital B on both parts of that equation? Because if Brock Bowers for the rest of the year is like tight end eight or nine, just period, full stop. This is not personal. It was one of the worst draft picks in all fantasy. Just. It just was. There's no two ways about that. Right. The only way that Brock Bowers or Trey McBride who's held up his end of the bargain in the this regard is worth A top 30 or so pick is if you are a top three tight end, Trey McBride is that he has been awesome this year. He feels very much worth the investment you made. Brock Bowers needs to look like week one Brock Bowers. If not, it's again, I believe it's one of the worst draft picks in all fantasy football. The other story that I think is huge this week, and this is where we get back to the Panthers, is yesterday Dave Canales, the Panthers head coach, talked about how they're looking at the possibility of giving Rico Dowdle a bigger workload than Chuba Hubbard. And it was one of those things that was, it was so poignant. Like it registered so much within the media room that like I saw our own David Newton, who covers the Panthers for us here at espn like it was the kind of question or the kind of statement that they were asking other players about after the fact. Like I can't remember who it was that he asked, but it was a notable Panthers veteran. Like, what do you think about the idea of Rico Dowdle getting more opportunities than Chuba Hubbard? It's a tough one. Chuba Hubbard is he was there during some of the toughest times for the recent Carolina Panthers and this dude bald out. Yep, this is kind of cold hearted, but it's also a business and you're a 4 and 4 team that is scratching inclined to find a way to maybe stay in the mix of that back end of the NFC playoff picture. I'm not guaranteeing anything here, but it certainly feels like when they play in Green Bay on Sunday, Chuba Hubbard will not be the starting running back and it'll stand be Rico Dowdle. And if rico Dowdle plays 60 or 62% of the snaps to 40 or 38 of Chuba Hubbard's percent of the snaps, then we have a player who could become an RB2. Again, we said yes, I said yesterday coming out of Week 8, this backfield is just the Seattle Seahawks, two guys who both have enough of each other's volume that it doesn't really matter. It would matter if if Chuba Hubbard takes a backseat to Rico Dowdle, I'll just.
A
And I we've already. You may have said this just now, but we've we've said this a handful of times when we're looking at these two Rico Dowdle over the last two weeks, 25 carries, averaging 5.3 yards per tote. Chuba Hubbard over the last two weeks, 26 carries, averaging two and a half yards per carry. So he's less than half as efficient as Rico Dowdle is with almost the same number of carries. Which is part of that's why it feels so much like the Seattle conversation, because it's like one of these guys is way more efficient than the other. That's the one that we want on the field. Right. I mean, for us in fantasy, give me all the Rico Dowdles, give me all the Ken Walkers. Like that's the guy that we want.
B
So it was also interesting to see. I mean, even though Hubbard managed 12 totes to Dowdle's eight and he did get the touchdown at halftime, Dowdle was not being used. I don't think he went in. He had 52 yards and I don't know, seven carries. I think at halftime he was not utilized again until I believe the fourth quarter. And Hubbard got all of that play. Well, it was the Bills and we know that there was a softness there. And then Hubbard got the touchdown. And I have to believe that, that this was a. Get it kid.
C
Yeah.
B
And now we're going to spell the guy that we need next week.
C
It's. I don't think this is one where Dowdle is going to be playing 70 or 75% of the snaps, but if it goes more 60, 40, you have something there. And the thing about Seattle that I feel like people continually point to, like the sharp football minds and those that cover the Seahawks closely, like, like there seems to be a tiny bit of an undercurrent of like Kenneth Walker III has this tendency, this propensity to rather than just take the fourth proclivity, rather than just taking the four yards that's blocked up for you, it's like you run to the hole, you see the potential for a big gain on the outside. You bounce it outside and the next thing you know what should be a 4 yard gain becomes a 1 yard gain because you wanted to hit the home run right. With Rico Dowdle like that dude just running with tenacity and force and it feels like getting exactly what the offensive line blocks for him plus more. So I don't think it's that situation in Seattle. I just think that right now, unless things that Dave Canal has said are truthful, it has for fantasy purposes a similar impact. So I think it's a huge storyline going into this weekend. It's a bad matchup. Daniel has warned us multiple times on that the packers defenses is the real deal against running backs.
A
But.
C
But I will be following very closely to see if we do see an actual changing of the guard.
A
Also, Liz, shout out to you because Rico Dowdle played one snap in the third quarter. By the way, Carolina Panthers running backs played eight snaps the entirety of the third quarter. Did they only have two? Three and out. Is that what is it? Yeah.
C
Well, that was one of those Games that had so many weird plays that maybe I'm just forgetting this. I feel like the Bills came out, controlled the clock a little bit. There might have been like an Andy Dalton interception in a hurry.
A
You know, There was an Andy Dalton interception. That was. Yeah, A.J. i. Yeah, there we go. Yeah, that was a. That was a fun intersection.
C
Chicago kid. I believe AJ Epanessa is from somewhere in Chicago. Ooh.
A
Hey, speaking of our Chicago native Liz Loza, though, I want to tease a little Facts versus Feelings. Anything coming up this week? Have you already decided what this week's Facts vs. Feelings is going to be?
B
I don't have my theme yet, which is not great because normally I do have it by Monday, but. Yes.
C
Proposals.
B
Okay.
C
You should do something related to playing 18 innings in one game of baseball.
A
There you go.
C
Maybe marathons.
A
Yeah.
B
I am usually very inspired by the foliage here this time of year. I don't get it.
A
Sweater weather.
B
Sweater weather. So I was pondering that. I'm not quite sure yet. But I do have my seven player set and I will be doing a My Facts vs. Feelings podcast and video show YouTube show with a kinetic Connecticut native brand. The. I should have his name.
A
But that's great though, that. We'll check it out. Absolutely.
C
Some call it the bush.
A
It will be here in our YouTube feed. Yes, that's right.
B
It is the meal before. The taste before. Oh, a little like a delicacy for the mouth. The teas for the mouth.
C
And then would an aperitif be the thing you drink after?
B
That's a pellet cleanser.
C
Ah.
A
Okay. So we have officially gone through on one of the punishments we have on our punishment wheel. We have one of them that says you have to use five big words for the show. Liz, I think just used like 30 big words for the show.
C
I now know five. Five French phrases.
A
Yeah.
C
Bonjour. Yeah.
A
Big word count right now.
C
Amouj bouche.
A
Yep.
C
Aperitif.
A
Yep.
C
And French fries. That's four.
B
And as we're about to be fine.
A
Oh, that's not bad. Okay. All right. Well, we've got some pois.
C
Cat set. Cit wheat. Neuf.
A
Dis.
C
Isn't it?
A
Yes. Way to goz.
C
Vous francais.
A
Yeah. Un por.
B
I speak Spanish, yo. I don't know.
A
Let's dive into some praguntas.
B
Well done. My best.
A
Thank you, my friends. All right. YouTube chat. Diving in again. Shout out to our buddy Eric Moody, who was in there all the time. Give him some love. This one comes from Ken. L wants to know what Are we doing with Jordan Mason? Does his value drop some now with the quarterback situation going on? Jordan Mason, obviously we had Aaron Jones come back to that running back room as well field. Is he going to be a top 20, 25 guy for you? Top 30 guy for you?
C
More like a top 30 again. This is. I should have when I was talking earlier about running backs that basically need to find the.
A
Jordan Mason's a good one.
C
He's part of this category as well. The passing game utilization is going to be extremely low. Aaron Jones basically played the important passing downs in his first game back last Thursday night. We probably should have mentioned. I don't know that really changes anything. J.J. mcCarthy is a new starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings. Kirsten Wentz is out for the year. Sneaky important for Justin Jefferson, right? I mean it wasn't great for Justin Jefferson with J.J. mcCarthy at the beginning of the season. He's just in bleeping Jefferson Jefferson. So it should be really good every single week. But Carson Wentz gave us kind of what we need. He gave us kind of the Joe Flacco effect for Justin Jefferson. He hasn't been otherworldly this year, but I got my eyes on that one. But yeah, short of Mason would not be a player that I would like to start this.
A
I would agree with that. I just want to say this Lions also this weekend seems like a tough. It was a kind of a tough look for the way that it ended with Carson Wentz. Dude was in so much pain. I felt really bad for him because it was clear he was just trying to gut it out at that point. And now to find out season ending injury, like it's not great.
C
Dude's got a torn labrum that's on his non throwing shoulder.
A
Dude was, he was. He was fighting through it like he was an absolute warrior here this last week. So hopefully he gets better and things are better for Carson Wentz moving forward. All right, let's do a couple more questions here from our YouTube chat. This one comes from Daniel Gilbert. Gilbert wants to know RB3 Rico Dowdle, Kymani Vidal or RJ Harvey? RJ Harvey is out to me.
C
Yeah, this one's clear to me.
A
Yes.
C
Vidal, yes. He's been amazing. He was excellent last week. And do you guys know who the Chargers play this week?
A
I don't.
C
Titans.
B
Oh, that's great.
A
That sounds good.
C
So by the way, if that's your RB3, nice shot, you're in a good spot by whoever it was that asked that question. Well done. You got yourself a Heck of a roster.
A
I believe it was a Daniel. Was it a Daniel? Did I just say that? It was.
C
Actually, it was Daniel D. From Central Connecticut.
A
That's not. That's not true. That's not true. All right, let's get another question here from our YouTube chat. This one comes from Michael Porter. Would I be overpaying for Devon H.N. and Jackson Dart if I sent Dak Prescott, Quinshon, Judkins and T. Higgins? So it's Achan and Dart for Dak Judkins and T. Higgins.
C
I think you can make a very reasonable case. The Dak Prescott and Jackson Dart are very comp. Are comparable.
A
Yes.
C
I have to update the numbers after this past Sunday in which he had, I think 19.5. But going into week eight, Jackson Dart was QB5 on a points per game basis. Once he became the starter. Dak is somewhere between quarterback. Let's call it like 7 and 12, probably in terms of our overall value. So I think it's close to a wash there. And so it's basically Quinton, John Judkins plus T. Higgins for Devon Achan. That's a win.
A
I take Devon Achan.
C
Yeah, me too. Yeah.
A
I think that, I mean, being able to have. And I think we've talked about this, but if I can have one of those top five to six to seven running backs, it gives me such positional advantage. I can figure out the wide receiver spot, I feel like. But give me one of those top running backs. So I am in with field. I would absolutely make this deal if it was presented to me.
C
What else you got?
A
Another one here. This one comes from just in time. My current flex issue with all my injuries. He has got Cam Scatter, Boo Marian Hampton and Trey Benson. That's not great. Do I play. Ooh, Matthew golden or RJ Harvey.
C
I suggest alcohol. Justin. Kidding. Of course.
B
Well, this one's rough.
C
I. I don't know.
A
I don't feel good about starting any packers wide receiver, R.J. harvey.
C
And I guess the thought process here would be like maybe last week's game. He only has six touches and I really believe that.
A
Eight touches, three touchdowns.
C
I'm sorry. Yeah, two in garbage time. Like, I can't blame Denver. Like, JK Dolphins is playing well.
A
He is right.
C
Like, this is not one. This is not. We were talking about in Seattle where it's like, why can't we get more from Kenneth Walker the third? Like, Dobbins has been rock solid. Like, he'll continue to play his role. I think I would just go with Harvey and hope they manufacture a couple touches this week.
B
I. I think you have to go with Harvey because even though we don't like to touchdown Chase, in a situation like this, a touchdown is the tiebreaker, and there's a better chance of Harvey getting one than golden with you.
A
Yeah, I think I agree with that as well. All right, let's do one more question before we get out of here. This one comes from Marvin Lewis, not the former Bengals coach. Somebody dropped Trey Benson and Mike Evans. Should I try to pick them up and stash Mike Evans? Very likely going to be done for the rest of the season.
C
It sounds like chance he's back in December, but not a guarantee.
A
Trey Benson for sure.
B
Problem for him earlier in the show.
A
Hopefully you were listening.
C
I would also say, Marvin, if you have two flexible spots, like, if right now you have both an IR spot and just like a flimsy final player in your bench. Yep, I'd grab them both. Trey Benson is going to be a factor for you at some point here soon. And then I think you keep Mike Evans until you need to drop him. Like, I've got a league in which we have, like, a slightly larger bench, so I've got enough depth and Mike Evans is my IR player. And, like, I just. I'm holding him there for now. I have every week when the waiver wire rolls around, I say to myself, okay, do I need to drop Mike? But for now, that hasn't happened to me yet. It could happen in any week, but until that week takes place, I'm just stashing them there in case.
A
I think that's fair. I think that's fair. Can I throw one thing at you guys to close out the show?
C
Sure.
A
I'm in a league where this week I did not have a full starting lineup. It's a startup keeper league. I just drafted it this year. Okay. So I did not have a full starting lineup. Week eight, big lot of bye weeks. And one of the constitutional rules that we have is you always have to start a starting lineup, a full lineup in the league.
C
Okay.
A
I couldn't do that. I didn't have a starting running back, a starting wide receiver, or a starting flex. And I still won this week.
C
No, you didn't.
A
How now? Because I'm good at football. So the question is. That's not true. That's not true.
B
Yeah, yeah, clarify.
A
So the question is it is technically against the bylaws because they have him in there. Because you have to set a full lineup. Because they want to make it from Tanking so that you can't do that. But if you can beat a team without having three starters, don't you deserve the win also?
B
Then that rule is not working.
C
Right. I was gonna say two things. You deserve the win.
A
Thank you.
C
Not setting a full lineup. There should be some discretion involved with the commissioner. Like if it's week 14 and somebody who has Rasheed Rice and Kyron Williams sits them, then, like, that's.
A
That's different.
C
I guess the part that I don't understand is that, like, if you play in a league with people that are about the collusion lifestyle, you're playing with the wrong people.
A
Different league. Find a different league. Yeah, I'm with you on the.
C
That.
A
That's not this league. However, I was very. There was a lot of back and forth because they were like, you didn't even set a full lineup. And I was like, I didn't have to. If I can win without having to set a full lineup, then I think you should get the win. So I just wanted to commission a.
C
Ruled yet or no.
A
The commissioner has said that they think that it should be illegal, which I agree with. It should be illegal for you to lose to a team that didn't have three starters.
C
Right. Who's the commissioner? What's this person?
A
His name is Jim. Jim.
C
Do we like Jim?
A
We love Jim.
B
Is Jim in Michigan, Jim?
A
No, Jim is in New York. Jim is in New York. This is my buddy, our friend, Damian Dabrowski. This is all of his college friends that I got to meet when we went to Poland and they have a big fantasy league.
C
I'm serious about fantasy.
A
Absolutely.
C
Jim, friend of the show.
A
That's right.
C
Friend of Damian. Friend of ours.
A
Friend of ours.
C
Make it right. Dino gets the win.
A
Thank you.
C
He gets the win. Just give it to him.
A
I agree with that. Thank you. All right. I appreciate that. I just needed a ruling here from you guys. Thank you so much. More than anything, though, thank you to Liz Loza for coming to hang out with us.
B
Thank you, guys. I also wanted to say that my guest on this week's Facts vs. Feelings is Brandon Carney, known as Benchwarmer Bran on social.
C
Love that.
B
That's exciting.
C
Some of those people were. You're like, you recently. You had JJ Late round quarterback on. You're like, that's his name, isn't it?
A
J.J. late round quarterback.
C
You're just like, yeah, Zacharias. And I know that, but you're just like, I just think that's your name. Right?
A
Like, that's so good. Does that mean that your name is Liz? Facts versus feelings, Is that what it would be?
B
No, it is Liz Lozaf.
A
There you go.
B
Or fantasy football or flipping. Fabulous.
A
Love that.
C
All right. Fabulous works best.
A
That's going to do it for us today. Make sure you follow Liz on Social where she just told you at. And field. And I, I mean field. You're a, I love doing the show with you. You're a good looking dude. Follow him on social media as well.
