Matthew Berry
Cheers. Bottoms up. Many other drinking terms to you. My name is Matthew Berry. Welcome to the Fantasy Football Happy Hour with Matthew Berry. Jay Croucher is next to me. We're gonna meet him in one second. But welcome, Jay. I just want to point out before we get started with anything else. So this is a set. It's a work in progress. Can you see all the way in the back? Like you're like, oh, wow, Matthew's got his name in the title. It's so exciting. Like is everything and then. But like, look, they've got Cowboys. They've got sk. Stupid Cowboys in the back. Everyone knows I'm a Washington Commanders fan. This is awful. It's awful. We will change the set. Literally. Like if. Can we get a shot of this, like our sad Jersey wall here for a second? A couple of Washington players. Great. And Chad Pennington. Fantasy Football Happy Hour with Matthew Barry.
Connor Rogers
Welcome to the Fantasy Football Happy Hour.
Matthew Berry
Where did that go?
Connor Rogers
We need more of that Chad Pennington.
Matthew Berry
That's right.
Connor Rogers
On the Jersey Wal. Live from the dead. I didn't remember that.
Jay Croucher
Yeah, I didn't remember the wall was that bad. 2 time comeback player of the year, Chad Pennington. By the way, this is another man who could have cost me money if I was old enough to bet back then.
Connor Rogers
What an electric factory between you two, by the way.
Matthew Berry
Unbelievable.
Connor Rogers
Can't imagine how I ended up here.
Matthew Berry
Amazing that show didn't get cancelled after season one with this sad little helmet wall. And the Jersey wall as well. But you know, things survive. I survived. You survived. And Chad Pennington survived as well. Connor joined us pretty early on in the run. Chad Pennington, greatest Jets quarterback.
Connor Rogers
I mean, Joe Namath.
Matthew Berry
But.
Connor Rogers
But taking that away. Yeah, I'll give him.
Matthew Berry
In the NFL.
Connor Rogers
I'll give him numbers.
Matthew Berry
Quarterback in the NFL.
Connor Rogers
Right. That doesn't. That played well after the merger.
Jay Croucher
Who's number three, though? It's like Ryan Fitzpatrick for his one year.
Connor Rogers
This is where it gets like.
Jay Croucher
It'd be like 80s and 90s guys.
Connor Rogers
Yeah. It would get really.
Jay Croucher
Ken O'.
Matthew Berry
Brien.
Connor Rogers
You're talking about Ken O'. Brien. Vinny Testaverde for a year.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Jay Croucher
Let me tell you, Mike White, really good. Four games. I really believed in Mike White.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
Tim Boyle ends up somewhere down the list.
Matthew Berry
He's on this kid. He's on the list. All right, so welcome to Fantasy Bowl Happy Hour, gentlemen. I have a prepared statement. All right, so listen, here's the thing. You guys may have seen this in the press a little bit here. It is not a secret. My current contract with NBC is going to come to an end in a few months. So I can't tell you as we sit here today definitively where I'm going to be in August. Which means, of course, I don't know what the future of fantasy football Happy Hour is. I can tell you this much. I'm continuing to talk to NBC and a bunch of other places and I am confident this is me being positive, but I'm confident it will work out and that we will see Happy Hour this August. But what I don't know is what exactly it will look like and whether or not candidly the three of us will specifically be here together again. I can tell you genuinely, you know, we joke a lot, but genuinely, I can tell you guys, I hope so. I truly love working with the two of you. I truly love working with everyone on this show. I truly love the regulars. I love the audience. I really love this show. And so you guys are amazing and I'm genuinely hopeful that everything works out. But because there is a chance this is our last show, we wanted to acknowledge that. Right. And we wanted to celebrate the last four years. And our thought was, hey, if we do come back, it would be the most Happy hour thing ever for us to do a big series finale spectacle and then show up in the fall like nothing happens.
Connor Rogers
Right, right.
Matthew Berry
That was fun. All right, nevermind, ignore all that stuff. So what I will say, however, though, you know, I like to quote Jimmy Buffett, don't get me wrong, this is not a sad song. So what you're going to see over the next 90 minutes, we've got a super sized show. We've actually got after hours from the happy hour. This time is going to be a celebration. It's a celebration of you guys, of the show of the last four years. We're going to have an absolute blast. And I would say to the regulars, listen, it's the last show, there are no rules. So bring the heat and we will have an absolute blast, just like we have over the last four years. Stephen, roll the tape. Jay, you were the head of trading for PointsBet and you have been for five years. You've obviously done a lot of stuff with NBC Sports. People don't know who the hell you are. And I think people also don't know what the head of trading for PointsBet does. So talk to me about that.
Jay Croucher
Yeah, so I set the lines basically. So when we talk, Cowboys are three point favourites over the Eagles. That's, that's my job.
Matthew Berry
Okay.
Jay Croucher
It's not Just football. Like we do all sports. So if we want to do a happy hour on Portuguese soccer, I can do that as well.
Matthew Berry
You can?
Jay Croucher
Yeah, I can do that.
Matthew Berry
Good. You can do that with somebody else. I am not going to be the Portuguese soccer guy here. Yeah, when I came over to NBC, they made. They promised me no Portuguese soccer. Small print in my, in my contract. You find yourself here on the Fantasy Football Happy hour where we will drink. Listen, I'm no longer on Disney, so cheers to that.
Connor Rogers
Happy Tuesday. Welcome to the Fantasy Football Happy hour. Not what you were expecting, right? I'm Connor Rogers alongside rotoworlds and the co host of the Roto World Football Show, Denny Carter. Denny, great to have you in here, man. Don't adjust anything. Right now. Matthew is on the way. We're going to welcome in Matthew Berry who is in the building right now. I am looking right at him. We are excited to have him here as he walks over the grand entrance. Welcome on Matthew Barry.
Matthew Berry
What a disaster.
Connor Rogers
That's okay.
Matthew Berry
You made it going on. Did you know what? It's not enough to have Connor here with his good looking hair and his young boyish good looks. Let's make sure Denny Carter and his head of lettuce is on camera as well. I don't know if you heard this, but. So it's a 14 team 2 quarterback league that Jay and I are playing in with all the.
Lawrence Jackson
I'm in it.
Matthew Berry
Oh, you're in that league. It's 14 teams. I wasn't told to learn everyone's names. 14 teams. You've got the gig. You don't have to fake laugh at everything I say. You don't have to. Ed McMahon. It. You don't have to. Robin quivers. It. You can, you know, like, you can, you can legitimately, you know, laugh or ignore. Cause not all my jokes are winners.
Connor Rogers
No, they're not.
Jay Croucher
In fact, there's a lot of losers.
Matthew Berry
That's what I'm thankful for.
Jay Croucher
No, Josh Jacobs.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, whatever. I got healthy kids and a wife, blah blah, blah, blah, blah. No, no, the important stuff here is, you know, didn't play against Josh Jacobs. I'm a proud peacock, baby. Proud peacock. Is that what they do? That's what they do, right?
Connor Rogers
Are you on the TB12 diet?
Matthew Berry
No, I'm on the chicken finger diet.
Connor Rogers
Okay, I like that.
Matthew Berry
No, he's what I am. Yeah, no, exactly. I'm on the. Yeah, I'm on the. I'm on the. I'm on the chicken finger and Choco Taco diet. You know what I'm talking about? Like it's an animated. Like it's an animated. Like not animated.
Jay Croucher
It's like a spine of animal.
Matthew Berry
It's a stuffed animal. A monkey. And he's just like, he's doing this.
Jay Croucher
Yeah, I've seen that one.
Matthew Berry
It's a good name for the award. Is it the happy hours? The happiest. You know they want a happy. The happiest. The Peacockies.
Jay Croucher
No, that's bad.
Blake (Penn State Blake)
That's real bad.
Jay Croucher
No, don't go Peacockies. Don't go Peacockies.
Matthew Berry
I kind of like the Peacockies.
Jay Croucher
I think it's the happies. I think it's gotta be the happiest. Let's start off.
Matthew Berry
Peacocky goes to. Come on.
Jay Croucher
Peacocky goes. No, we can't do that.
Connor Rogers
Happy Peacocky's day.
Matthew Berry
Yes.
Connor Rogers
The annual award show is back. I have no idea where Matt the Berry is. Do you guys know we kind of need him?
Jay Croucher
I think I see something walking in. Oh, no.
Matthew Berry
There you go. Here we are. What a big ass peacocky. We're gonn to the camera.
Big Show
That's a rigid.
Matthew Berry
Look at him. Look how beautiful he is. I'm taking you home later for your next touchdown celebration. Could you do a peacock like a. Like just. It's kind of like. Right. And people might think it's an Eagle too, like. Or it's an Eagle, but just like. And we'll know it's really for a peacock and just kind of be a shout out to us and all of our friends. It's kind of like I project 275 yards and four touchdowns for Tyler Lockett against my commanders. The expectation there is that they'll put Emmanuel Forbes on him to just get burned left and right and right and right and right and right. Penn State. Blake over there, who's a die hard Eagles fan, he's all. He's all smiles because he knows. There he is.
Lawrence Jackson
Look at him.
Connor Rogers
He's actually the happiest we've seen.
Matthew Berry
He's all smiley because he knows, he knows they got away with one. If I was an NFL running back, I'd be much more closer to Isaiah Pacheco. Kind of just you know, like a lot slower and a lot like much easier to bring down but just, you know, kind of that, that plodding sort
Connor Rogers
of like Connor Rogers alongside I think Matthew Berry and Jay Croucher.
Matthew Berry
Hey, it's a me, a Luigi. I'm a Luigi. Get used to this. I'm a. I'm a company a man. Yes, it's A me epimario all about the Luigi. Yes, hello.
Jay Croucher
You didn't win the Emmy.
Connor Rogers
That's not Miami. Let's just make who won.
Matthew Berry
Who won the Emmy?
Connor Rogers
Todd Zeal from my colleague at Smy, Todd Mets post game does an incredible job on Mets postgame.
Matthew Berry
He beat a loaded field.
Connor Rogers
I mean a loaded field in terms of analysts. And because of that, I believe you are Todd Zeal from smy for Halloween.
Jay Croucher
That's correct. I'm the man who beat you.
Connor Rogers
You get the epic not me that I won.
Jay Croucher
So if anyone has any questions answered on the show by any, please.
Matthew Berry
Hey, you know what? The F of you with Todd Zeal. F of you.
Jay Croucher
Yeah.
Matthew Berry
F for you. You should have wanted this. You should have wanted this.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, maybe next year.
Matthew Berry
Read between the lines. Don't deal.
Jay Croucher
On the flight back from Pittsburgh on Monday morning at about 8am Matthew Berry's ordering diet cokes like on the floor from the steward.
Connor Rogers
Like the flight attendant.
Jay Croucher
Yes.
Matthew Berry
You can't be ordering Diet Cokes at
Lawrence Jackson
8am that's how he does.
Jay Croucher
And then after he asked on the flight for diet coke he asked if there was a platter of chicken tenders available. There wasn't.
Matthew Berry
I'm sitting in first class. Jay should be in the back of the bus but somehow because there were only first class seats available on this particular fight, NBC had to put them in first class so he could observe everything I do normally. He's back.
Connor Rogers
You pull the curtain over.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, I agree with Jay and pull the curtain. Yeah, I see a Jay and I'm like no, no, no. Use your own back.
Jay Croucher
Absolutely not.
Matthew Berry
You're not here. Absolutely not. I wore this because Jay, I don't know if you remember this but today, today is the one year anniversary of our magical night in Buffalo.
Jay Croucher
Is that right?
Matthew Berry
Yeah, today is exactly so I just one night in bu. I know you don't remember a lot of that night or you claim not to, but look, anniversary a lot to me. It meant a lot to me. Hola and welcome in to the desk of this. Come on you guys.
Connor Rogers
Great costume over there. Thank you very much.
Matthew Berry
Obviously, yeah. Fred from Scooby Doo. You know it's interesting doing my research for this role Fred saw there he is pretty good. Like, I mean I think you know, like we're doing what we can with
Connor Rogers
the only got so far with that.
Matthew Berry
I'm always follically challenged even when wearing a wig. Fred doesn't have like a lot of catchphrases. There's not like a lot he doesn't
Connor Rogers
really have much to say in general,
Matthew Berry
he's honestly not particularly interesting. He's just sort of the leader. Fred and Daphne don't bring a lot to the table, if I'm being honest with you.
Connor Rogers
It's a part of curiosity, which is
Matthew Berry
why it's perfect for me here. Honestly, Connor, you bring the knowledge and I'm just sort of here for the good looks. I'm just telling you, like when you have a chub and then a young Woody shows up, the chub goes down. It is what it is. Everyone knows that.
Connor Rogers
I gotta teeing something up just to keep it rolling. Our next player, Rashad White. By the way, Woody Marks, 69% available. I don't want to leave that out.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, 69%.
Connor Rogers
You don't love it. Unbelievable. Like, you really can't make it up at this point.
Matthew Berry
I'm not gay, but if I was, I would go there.
Connor Rogers
That's the type of outfit you're a fan of?
Matthew Berry
He looked awesome.
Connor Rogers
Oh, man.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
The chat is upset. No ankles. I feel robbed. That's from Jesus Hermosilla. Yeah. Matthew, you're. You got a different look today. The ankles will be back, what, Monday? Maybe Sunday if people are lucky.
Matthew Berry
You know what? You know what I'm gonna do?
Jay Croucher
Be careful. Don't strain anything.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Connor Rogers
Don't pull anything.
Jay Croucher
You can't really see an ankle.
Connor Rogers
5 to 1 odds Barry is not wearing pants. Which those odds might have cashed judging by that angle.
Jay Croucher
A man, Johnny Dangerly from YouTube. Chase Brown should be called the Gobbler because he's gonna gobble up receptions.
Matthew Berry
Do you think Chase Brown would enjoy being known that somebody wants to nickname him the Gobbler? I just don't know that that's the kind of nickname that a lot of guys would neglect.
Lawrence Jackson
I don't think nobody look his last name. Brown too. Imagine being called the Brown Gobbler.
Matthew Berry
The Brown Gobbler. By the way, the Brown Gobbler sounds like a rejected Batman villain, right?
Connor Rogers
This one from Valiant. Vincent Connor looking like he just stepped off the set of Happy Gilmore 2. I love it.
Matthew Berry
That is true.
Connor Rogers
Or Polo.
Matthew Berry
Or. Or honestly. Like, honestly, you kind of look like a waiter at a. At a knockoff theme restaurant. You know what I mean?
Connor Rogers
Like, and I like, like, like. But I don't think that one lands.
Matthew Berry
I disagree. Like, hey, welcome to Islands. I'm Connor. Can I get you a Mai Tai? I was searching Cameo to see if I could find somebody that could do a draft order for us. And, well, I did. Hey, it's Emmy award winning podcaster and analyst Todd Zeal. Just here for Matthew to give you guys the draft order for this year's fantasy football camp. We're going to start out with Roto Pat at the top, followed by Denny. And then Matthew is going to be third and I guess that would leave number 12 and absolutely dead last. That would be Cotter. Let me make sure that I got that list right. Let me grab that list.
Jay Croucher
Oh, yeah, here it is right here.
Connor Rogers
This is unbelievable. It's always your own people. Oh, man. A lot of good memories. We didn't even get all of them in. Well done by the team though, putting that together.
Matthew Berry
It's really good.
Connor Rogers
So I forgot, honestly, I'd forgotten a
Matthew Berry
lot of those as well. Stuntman Chuck Jay's aged a decade and four years, which is very rude from
Jay Croucher
Todd Seal all throughout. Todd Zeal, who by the way had a.350 OPS in the 99 playoffs in Texas. So please, Todd Zeal. Stones being thrown in the glass house here. Come on.
Matthew Berry
Two time Emmy winning.
Connor Rogers
A lot of comments about how Jay and I have aged. Rick's Connor hit puberty hard since his first appearance.
Jay Croucher
Well, after four years.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. I mean, working with me every day will do that to you.
Connor Rogers
Yeah. It's like being the president.
Matthew Berry
Matthew looks similar. Yeah, you do.
Connor Rogers
You look exactly the same.
Matthew Berry
I have looked like an old man for the last 25 years. That's the thing. I mean, like, I lost my hairline fairly early, you know. Right. I just. I'm an old man. I've been an old man since I was like 30.
Jay Croucher
Yeah, you're like Keanu Reeves except your age. Got frozen 40 years after his age.
Matthew Berry
That's right.
Jay Croucher
You know, the immortal thing with Keanu,
Matthew Berry
I did not even notice. Like, I noticed when they showed the very first episode. And your bio, the third line of your bio was Keanu Reeves enthusiast.
Connor Rogers
I didn't even catch that.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, that was unbelievable. Yeah.
Connor Rogers
Shirtless Ben Johnson. Are those socks on the last show?
Matthew Berry
I know you know what Shirtless Ben Johnson they are. I just, you know, the wardrobe they ran out of like the small socks. Maybe I should wardrobe thrown under the bus.
Connor Rogers
Plus 210 to cash on the last show.
Matthew Berry
But good job.
Jay Croucher
You had it in a game seven. The pressure gets the people.
Connor Rogers
There's the ice, which is too bright.
Matthew Berry
You know what I'm gonna do? Shirtless Ben Johnson in the break between. Segment one, Segment two, I will take off the socks entirely. That's what I will do. There you go. Good for me. It's Something to look forward to. Yeah. Make sure we roll cameras on that so we can have a highlight that we roll back as well.
Connor Rogers
By the way, you didn't hype it enough. We have some premium guests on this show today.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, no question.
Connor Rogers
Like super big names, superstars.
Matthew Berry
Yes. Nothing but superstars.
RotoPat
Yeah.
Matthew Berry
We've already seen Todd Zeal.
Connor Rogers
Todd Zeal. That's a tough fact to follow.
Jay Croucher
J.
Matthew Berry
Coming back.
Connor Rogers
No, A.J. brown today, although, maybe. But we welcome in a frequent guest and friend of the show in Rotopat.
Matthew Berry
Ah, there we go.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, there he is.
Matthew Berry
There we go. Rotopat. Yeah. Defending champion of our league of assholes
Connor Rogers
and wins Guillotine every year.
Matthew Berry
Yes.
Connor Rogers
Every single year he wins Guillotine. Hello, Pat.
RotoPat
Hello. Well, Jaden Daniels canceled, so they brought me in. They thought I'd be the preferred first guest for Matthew. Matthew. Hell of a run here at Fantasy Football Happy Hour. I know. Look forward to it. Keeping going and yeah, I look forward to. I hope we get to keep doing the Guillotine League because I. My favorite yearly tradition is to get 15th place in week one and almost get eliminated and then somehow win the league going forward the rest of the year.
Lawrence Jackson
But.
RotoPat
How you doing, buddy? I gotta be honest, I did not remember Scooby Doo Barry. Yeah, that was. That was quite the variation of Barry there.
Jay Croucher
Can I just say, Rotter. Pat, do you think that if Matthew does leave NBC that'll be the impetus for you to get some Bluetooth to headphones? Because that really may be a good contract.
RotoPat
There's no budget large enough in NBC Sports that would afford me YouTube Bluetooth headphones, so that will not be happening.
Matthew Berry
You don't think so? Like, the money they save on my contract, you don't think they could.
Connor Rogers
I think it's like Aaron Rodgers. He's choosing this.
RotoPat
They've sent high level executives to my house and I've just refused. Like, this is philosophical reasons. It's religious reasons. It just. It can't be done. Done.
Matthew Berry
Denny, one of the things that. Denny, one of the things that. Just plowing through that. Denny, one of the things that. That. One of the memories of the show that didn't make the highlight real, for whatever reason, is that you were in the Peacocky outfit. The. The last time we had the most recent one. Not every. Not every that we know of, honestly, we confirm that it might have been
Connor Rogers
you in the outfit every year.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, exactly. We never did reveal Peacocky. So my question is, have you worn it since? Did that inspire you and Mrs. Roto. Pat, you Know, I don't think people realize this, but Roto pat has like 12 kids or something like that.
Connor Rogers
It's challenged to Bill Rivers.
Matthew Berry
He's fertile. Rotopat is fertile. Make no more sense. His boys can swim. Yeah. Just curious if you know what's going on with the peacocky outfit.
RotoPat
Well, to answer your question, first off, it takes three months to dry clean a very involved outfit. A lot, a lot of cleaning on that. And that was in January. We had four children at that time. Next month, February. All of a sudden we had a fifth child. So you be the judge of what the peacock costume did to our family. By the way, Matthew, you're the only person in the industry I feel like you get me to debase myself to wear a peacock costume, but it felt like an honor. And that, that part wasn't stressful. The most stressful part of the peacock costume was after one or two awards, the whole desk was kind of getting uneasy. They started murmuring, basically, the peacock is not dancing well enough.
Matthew Berry
Right.
RotoPat
Like, we need, we need better dances out of the peacock. And in my head I'm like, I'm a 39 year old dad. I haven't learned a new dance since the Soulja Boy. But I powered through. I came up with some new dance that honestly really was a highlight to
Jay Croucher
two quick things wrote about. Firstly, you're lying because I know you dress up as a peacock all the time for Field Yates. So you'll do it for anyone in the industry. And then secondly, no one ever get into a waymo with Pat because he sits in the front seat and he touches the wheel. Can't do. That's the one thing that he does.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, he's. He's always been a rebel. He's always been a real rule breaker that I call. Apparently I called you Denny at some point in the segment. I apologize. Roto pattern name. It's my last show, you know, whatever. So we're trying to figure it all out. But Rotopat, listen, you are a gentleman and a legend, and for my money, the best peacocky we've ever had. So cannot, you know, continue to appreciate your friendship and support and thank you to all your contributions over the show. We will absolutely do the Guillotine league next year. 100%. We will absolutely bring that back.
RotoPat
Matt. I'm the best, Matthew. I'm the best peacock. You're the best to ever do it in general. Thank you so much, man.
Matthew Berry
Thank you, my friend. Thank you, brother.
Jay Croucher
Stay out of the waymos.
Matthew Berry
Well, you.
Connor Rogers
You gave away the Next guest three times.
Jay Croucher
Did I.
Connor Rogers
It's Danny Carter.
Matthew Berry
Is it really? Yeah. Okay. Sorry. Why? Kept saying I don't know. All right, fair enough.
Connor Rogers
We'll have Denny on in a second.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
That quite sweaty, that outfit. The peacocky.
Matthew Berry
Oh, I was unbelievable.
Jay Croucher
I felt bad for him.
Connor Rogers
Me too. I don't think he really knew what he agreed to until he was about 20 minutes into it.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, it was like.
Jay Croucher
It was like Ryan Reynolds and Buried. Yeah, basically. It was basically the exact same thing.
Connor Rogers
One last film reference for the road.
Matthew Berry
I was just gonna say. And like, not. It's not a movie that anyone seen. We could have picked anyone seen Buried? Like, people have seen almost every Ryan Reynolds movie. Yeah. I don't know. No one's seen Buried.
Jay Croucher
He's trapped in a coffin. He needs to get out.
Matthew Berry
I figured out the premise from the movie from the name of the title, but I've never seen. I've never seen buried.
Jay Croucher
Let's see.
Connor Rogers
87% on Rotten Tomatoes. Did not have that on my bingo card. Wow. Maybe I'll. With this newfound time, I'll have. I'll watch him Buried.
Matthew Berry
I will tell you that we were. I was trying to think of. We had a couple of conversations about, okay, for last show, what should we do and everything like that. I did like, should it just be a three hour watch Party of Magnolia? Should it should be live from the Jaguars bar? Should it be like, we actually pitched this as well and unfortunately the FCC said no. But I wanted to legitimately. This was an idea that we talked about. That I was just going to get hammered throughout the 90 minutes and take a breathalyzer at the end of it to prove that I am impervious to beer, which I still insist that I am. Yeah, maybe we'll. Maybe we'll do that at the wrap party. We're having the wrap party June 4th at an undisclosed location. So maybe we'll have.
Jay Croucher
Maybe we'll do that. The FCC also, they banned the idea of us doing the show at the JAGS bar. So you can't show JAGS fans on tv. That's America.
Matthew Berry
It's fair enough. It's fair enough.
Connor Rogers
All right, let's welcome on Denny. This is not Flexual Frustrations. This is just Denny Carter, not Dr. Denny.
Matthew Berry
Hello, Danny.
Denny Carter
Hey, guys. You can call me Rotopat since you called him Denny.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, the good switcheroo.
Matthew Berry
You're wearing a hat, which is so weird. You know, like normally you've. You've got your luxurious locks. You're. You're great. Head of lettuce out there for me to be jealous of.
Denny Carter
I'm a Bolts fan first and foremost. Everybody knows this.
Matthew Berry
Sure.
Denny Carter
Thanks. I'm just. I'm going out the way I came in. I've worn this on the show before. Come on now.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, yeah.
Jay Croucher
Can you explain why, Dennis, you're actually not a San Diego Chargers fan at all?
Denny Carter
I like the color. I don't know. I don't know what to say.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Denny Carter
And I can hold a conversation. Here's the thing. When I'm in the grocery store and someone goes, oh, Chargers. I can hold a conversation like, I'm a Chargers fan.
Jay Croucher
Oh, man.
Denny Carter
It's been. It's been tough luck for the past 40 years, but I think Justin Herbert can get us over the hump this year.
Jay Croucher
I know you go deep in the Billy Volek bag.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. But couldn't you have that conversation about any NFL team? I would think anyone that does what we do for a living, like, when I go to parties, it's always, you know, somebody talks to me about a team, and then I can talk to them about their team.
Denny Carter
I could do that.
Matthew Berry
I could do that.
Denny Carter
I like doing. I live in Maryland. Okay. No one's even heard of the Chargers here.
Matthew Berry
That's fair.
Connor Rogers
How often do you really get stopped wearing that?
Matthew Berry
Do you think the biggest. Just. I'm curious, guys. Do you think the biggest flaw in that story is that Denny actually gets invited to parties?
Connor Rogers
No, he said at the grocery store.
Matthew Berry
At the grocery store that I believe. I believe you go grocery shopping. I do believe that.
Denny Carter
I do that a lot, guys.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Denny Carter
But I wanted to thank you for having me on today and for letting me be part of the show over the past few years and for letting me do fun bits and, you know, joining along with those bits, the flexual frustrations. I almost said sexual frustrations, but that's not what it was. Was one of my favorite things I've done in the industry, and you all really played along, really made that happen. So I wanted to thank you all, especially Matthew.
Matthew Berry
Now, listen, Denny, you were. You were an awesome contributor to the show throughout. We love that you. You took some time out of your schedule to be with us, and you played along with our dumb bits. Whether it was flexural frustration or. Honestly, I always loved what the mainstream media didn't want you to know. Like, I loved the year that we did that.
Connor Rogers
Calling Rachel Maddow. I believe she wasn't answering, but got me from the raw.
Denny Carter
Chris Hayes wouldn't come on the show. I don't know why. You know, he was too scared, so I came on instead.
Matthew Berry
Right. I keep trying to tell the mainstream media about Trey Harris, but they won't listen.
Connor Rogers
They're not answering the calls on Greg Dorch.
Matthew Berry
Right. I was trying to go with a charger because of the hat.
Denny Carter
Oh, yeah, there you go.
Connor Rogers
He's forgetting he's a Chargers fan. He's celebrating David in Joku.
Matthew Berry
Right, of course.
Connor Rogers
Very timely.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, it's very exciting. Are you excited about the Injoku signing?
Denny Carter
I'm so excited, guys. Listen, I'm excited for him to run 35% of the routes every week, no matter what. You know, that'll be fun for fantasy. It'll be fun to figure out. We're going to talk about it all season. Like, we can figure it out, but we won't. That's what I promise you.
Matthew Berry
The one thing I will say we don't. I mean, we could do 10 seconds of a fantasy analysis here if we want to, but since Joku's brought up. The one thing I will say is that I actually. And Joku's a great blocker. And just you think about, like, we're excited about this run game under Mike McDaniel. We're excited about Omarion Hampton finally being healthy, their offensive line being finally healthy. And I think you think they signed Charlie Kohler. They signed David and Joku, like, feels like Connor. They want to do a lot of 12 personnel, and then they have Gadsden
Connor Rogers
to maybe not have to play on the line of scrimmage, which would be nice. You'd rather him playing as a power slot or whatever it may be, especially because you don't.
Matthew Berry
They're probably not bringing back Keenan Allen.
Connor Rogers
Right.
Matthew Berry
Right. So, I mean, you just, you think about, like, you know, it should be another mcconculous, mcconculous year here, but I think it hurts Gadson. He's probably from a high end, tight end, too. Now. He's kind of in that 15 to 20 range. Right. You know, it hurts. Gadson's fantasy value probably helps Marian Hampton the most. Yes.
Lawrence Jackson
Right.
Connor Rogers
Able to run the ball.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
Run it back. Ride or Die part two.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. And maybe. And ajoku will be. Will catch like six touchdowns and just be super annoying because no one will ever start on the weeks that he does.
Connor Rogers
Barry is ruining the show with the fantasy football talk.
Denny Carter
Well, I wanted to say, look, Barry is so committed that he is going to break down the Chargers tight ends in May on his. On this last show, so that's a credit to him.
Jay Croucher
Look, just be sure to pass on all that info to all your chargers friends in Maryland.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. At the grocery store. Yeah. Between the produce. Yeah. You know, when you're squeezing the produce, just turn to somebody and say like, no, I think he squeezed the produce. He said, yeah, you squeeze the produce. Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course. You know, Denny does, though. I would never.
Connor Rogers
I'm married, guys.
Denny Carter
Come on.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, exactly.
Matthew Berry
Please. It's all. Of course.
Denny Carter
I haven't squeezed the produce in 10 years.
Matthew Berry
Stop it. He's. He's a produce squeezer if I ever saw one. Stop it for me. Thank you, Danny. You know, he's just sitting there. He's just sitting there going. I think Keaton Mitchell was an under. Underrated signing around him. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Squeezing the pro. Anyway, Appreciate you. Appreciate you.
Connor Rogers
Denny Carter, our next guest, Dr. Denny Carter. A deep, deep poll.
Matthew Berry
Is this a deep cut?
Connor Rogers
Yeah, I'm going to build it up. We're going to wait a little bit before we actually reveal to it because I think this one will genuinely be a nice surprise to you. By the way, the chat. Cannot believe we snuck in. Football talk.
Matthew Berry
Well, why not David and why not?
Jay Croucher
People need to know David and Joku's part of the show.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, why not? Of course. Yeah.
Jay Croucher
He's a seminal character.
Matthew Berry
I thought one of the things that would make the montage was me walking in, as in Joku with the big. You know, we did. We did our entrances one year.
Jay Croucher
That was another FCC band.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jay Croucher
They couldn't show that again.
Connor Rogers
Was that on?
Matthew Berry
That was on pregame. That was on. I think we have something that might be on maybe. Who knows? Maybe that's coming up later in the show. Who knows? Me ruining the show and not looking at the rundown before. Classic, right?
Connor Rogers
All the staples are cashing on Brand. All right, this next guest, it's a pretty nice surprise because he hasn't worked on our show lately, but he was here from the beginning. And that is Penn State. Blake, you saw him in the mashup. Wow. On Brand.
Big Show
On Brand one Brand. Good to see you guys
Matthew Berry
wearing the tracksuit. We all went tracksuit today. I'm sort of in a. More of a jumpsuit. You're like in some sort of like burgundy wine color mobbed up tracksuit bit
Jay Croucher
pod character in the town.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, yeah, There we go. That's what I was going for.
Matthew Berry
That's pretty good. Pretty good. Jay wearing what he just normally does.
Connor Rogers
Yes. Whatever I put out there for you, the man that was earliest on Parker Washington. That's not A joke. Number one Parker Washington fan, and he was right. What's up, Blake?
Big Show
I didn't get enough shares in Parker Washington when we were bringing him up, but, yeah, he was. He was one of the greatest Penn State wide receivers I've ever seen, so.
Matthew Berry
That's right. Yeah.
Big Show
No, it's great to see you guys. I'm really happy to be here. First two years of the show. I mean, so many great memories. I think one of the best memories I had. I wasn't even there, but it was when you guys were in Philly for the Applebee's show, and it had to be somewhere between 30 to 50 margaritas on Barry's tab, I think, which is maybe a little bit short.
Matthew Berry
They were dollarities, which makes that dollaritas.
Jay Croucher
Yes.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jay Croucher
I will. I'll never forget being at that Applebee's, Blake. And Matthew turning to me in an ad break after his sixth dollar reader saying, I think I'm in a bit of trouble here.
Matthew Berry
I need some pretzel stick stack.
Jay Croucher
There was also.
Backup Producer Pete
There was also that.
Big Show
Wait, there was that makeshift Eagles mascot guy that showed up, and it was kind of an Eagle. It was kind of something. I wasn't really sure what was going on, but, yeah, that guy was. That guy was awesome.
Matthew Berry
So, Penn State, Blake, I have to ask you, first off, since the time that you've left the show and now you've gotten married, so congratulations.
Connor Rogers
Not yet.
Matthew Berry
Not yet. Well, you got a game.
Big Show
Yeah, soon.
Connor Rogers
Congrats on the engagement.
Matthew Berry
Congrats on the engagement.
Jay Croucher
Kids.
Big Show
Yeah, Three kids.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Big Show
Another on the way.
Matthew Berry
But I just want to know, since this is potentially the last show of fantasy football happy hour after four years, Penn State, Blake, will you finally admit that Craig Reynolds is never coming on this show at this point? I mean, I know we have an
Connor Rogers
hour left coming on today.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Big Show
I mean, you know, he.
Matthew Berry
Your best friend, running back.
Big Show
One time he said if he could ever get to Stanford, Connecticut, and then he did go to the Patriots, so he was a little bit closer than when he was in Detroit. But, yeah, I'm sorry to say I don't think that's happening.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, it's good that you finally admit that.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, it's a good try.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
Hey, if it makes you feel better, Penn State, Blake, you are on the Mount Rushmore of fantasy football happy hour researchers for sure.
Big Show
Let's go. I think it's a short list.
Matthew Berry
It is. Yeah.
Connor Rogers
We're still looking for the fourth person on the Mount Rushmore for sure.
Big Show
There we go.
Jay Croucher
It's been so long since we've seen you, Blake, that in the time between your last appearance and now your team, the Philadelphia Eagles, have won a Super bowl and since become an absolute mess. You've gone full circle through that experience.
Big Show
It is fun to see that. It's scheduled a release also today and I swear at this point, like we're on like 10 prime time games. Like I don't think I'm ever going to see another one o' clock game with the Eagles. It's honestly very depressing. Like I go got to watch something at Sunday night and then like if they lose and I go to bed at like 2:00am Just super upset.
Jay Croucher
It's very sad.
Connor Rogers
You play at 1:00 clock every Sunday against the Titans and the Dolphins sense.
Matthew Berry
Exactly. It's hard to feel bad.
Big Show
I've been hanging, I've been hanging my we beat Boston banner for the last two weeks for the Sixers even though they got swept by the Knicks. You know, we finally got over that Boston hump.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
Thank you fans.
Jay Croucher
Four and seven in the playoffs.
Big Show
That's right.
Connor Rogers
Well, great seeing you, man.
Matthew Berry
Great to see you. Thanks for all your contribution to the show. You're always a fun part of it and. And we miss you in the league of where you refuse to draft a quarterback in a two quarterback league. We.
Connor Rogers
I was moving, he was driving to U haul.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Big Show
But thanks guys.
Jay Croucher
See you, Blake.
Matthew Berry
There you go.
Connor Rogers
Now rush more of researchers.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. Well, the best part was for a while he was Blake and he was like, he, he pulled off something that is very Rare and Scott McClory, Tony Soprano wants his drip back. It's fair. Penn State Blake brought pulled off something that I think is very hard to do, which is he gave himself a nickname. Like you're not allowed to really give yourself a nickname. And it's usually like what are you doing?
Connor Rogers
Did he give himself that nickname?
Matthew Berry
He called himself Penn State Blake? Yes.
Connor Rogers
But it really.
Matthew Berry
It stuck.
Connor Rogers
It works. That's the problem.
Jay Croucher
I know.
Connor Rogers
So you really didn't want to roll with it because it's a self given nickname. But it does work because he was
Matthew Berry
trying for a little while. He originally was like researcher Blake and then he was like Philly Blake and whatever. And then he just. Then he just one day just started calling himself Penn State Blake and it somehow stuck and it worked.
Jay Croucher
Did you not do the same thing with the Mr. Roto bit? I guess people don't call you that.
Matthew Berry
I did, I did. But like that's why we do it. That's Right. And. And. But. And it was a column title. Like, it was the. It was the name of my column. It wasn't like anyone. I said, like, you know, hey, Connor. Hey, talented Mr. Roto. Like, no one. No one ever, ever says that.
Jay Croucher
I certainly hope they never said that.
Matthew Berry
No, no, no. I will say there are still friends of mine to this day that will be like, hey, tmr. Like, I have people that. There are people in my life that will call me tmr, but, like, not. But anyway, let's.
Jay Croucher
Anyway, let's continue. Speaking of the journey of Mount Rushmore, of our researchers and great nicknames. Yeah. And great nicknames. Let's bring in Big Show.
Matthew Berry
Wow.
Connor Rogers
From the car.
Jay Croucher
From a vehicle.
Matthew Berry
How's it going? Pretty.
Connor Rogers
Like, well, too many things going on. Got to take it from the car.
Matthew Berry
Well, one of the things Big show does is he does NASCAR resources, so this is.
Connor Rogers
Oh, very fitting.
Matthew Berry
This is very.
Jay Croucher
He's in the car.
Matthew Berry
He's in the. He's in the car. Are you actually in traffic right now? Big Show Now.
Backup Producer Pete
I'm in a parking lot right now.
Connor Rogers
Nice.
Jay Croucher
With a seat belt on.
Backup Producer Pete
That's right.
Matthew Berry
You never know.
Connor Rogers
Dangerous, always around the corner.
Backup Producer Pete
Safety first.
Matthew Berry
Safety first. Oh, Big Show.
Connor Rogers
Good to see you guys. Only you can pull off an entrance like that, I must say.
Matthew Berry
Unbelievable.
Backup Producer Pete
I do my best.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
We were nervous when Blake left the show.
Matthew Berry
We were.
Connor Rogers
But you quickly asserted yourself that you would fill in the role just fine. Big Show.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Backup Producer Pete
And I didn't go to a Big Ten school. I'm no Penn State guy. You know, I went to Little Curry College, Division 3 school outside of Boston. You got out the warming?
Matthew Berry
No. Stuntman Chuck says Big show calling after being stopped for speeding. I could believe that as well. You are a Patriots fan. Big show, any thoughts about the off season for the Patriots?
Backup Producer Pete
Been interesting to say the least. Are we talking on the field moves or off the field moves?
Connor Rogers
Very PC answer from Big Show.
Matthew Berry
I'm leaving the question open ended. Big show, it's up to you.
Backup Producer Pete
Well, I'll put it this way. We still have a head coach, and I'm glad he's still there, but, well.
Matthew Berry
Oh, there we go.
Backup Producer Pete
Get my. Get myself back in the frame here.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Backup Producer Pete
Other than that, you know, because I also work in the business, so I don't want to say anything that could get me fired, so I say let the. Let it play out and we'll be fans of the.
Matthew Berry
Of the story.
Backup Producer Pete
But, yeah, I'm still glad Coach is there and it's hopefully we can have another super bowl run this year, but that schedule is going to be a little tough for the. For the Patriots. They had quite an easy one last year. I fully admit that was a cakewalk.
Matthew Berry
Listen, Big Show, I just want to say, look, we loved having you on the show. You were a great sport. It was always, you know, there is legitimately a Big show fan base that would. That would ask. When I would go to parties, people would ask me about Big show, and I would ask, even if the show, you know, even as we head into the off season and I miss this, like, just when random celebrities die, will you still text me, please? That's going to be my. I miss that. I miss that from you. Will you do that?
Backup Producer Pete
Absolutely.
Matthew Berry
Thank you, my brother. Thank you, my brother. I appreciate you.
Connor Rogers
See you, Big Show.
Jay Croucher
Thank you, Big Show.
Matthew Berry
We love you, Big Show. We'll see you.
Jay Croucher
What a great demonstration of safety
Connor Rogers
to
Jay Croucher
be wearing a seatbelt while stationed in a car park. Unbelievable.
Matthew Berry
Great work from the show.
Connor Rogers
Give a story of Big show reporting deaths. The one notable one to me that comes to mind because it was in person. We do the show. I get off the desk, take the mic off. Didn't even step off the stage, and Big show comes up to me and he's like, ah. He's like, bob Barker had a good run. And I'm like, bob Barker died? And he's like, yeah, he had a good run. I'm just like, this is one way to find out. Bob Barker's dead.
Matthew Berry
In fairness to Big show, he did have a good run. I mean, 99 years old. I mean, honestly, Legend Happy Madison Price is right.
Connor Rogers
I mean, done it all.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, yeah. Saved a lot of dogs from being neutered. Or maybe he got them neutered. What was it? Yeah, I don't know.
Denny Carter
The order of the dog.
Matthew Berry
Saved your dog. I think he was pro neutering. Right?
Connor Rogers
He was leading the charge.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. So maybe he wasn't as successful as they thought.
Connor Rogers
Leave. But we'll be back at least for another segment.
Matthew Berry
In theory, I'm like, wait, what are they gonna do, cancel us now? Seriously? Which one is which? I'm the real Matthew Berry. Ladies. Just been coming up to you left and right. Just throwing their numbers at you.
Jay Croucher
Oh, yeah, without a doubt.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. 100. It's a good look. It's a good look as well. There you go.
Connor Rogers
Can he talk through that thing?
Jay Croucher
That's actually A.J.
Matthew Berry
brown.
Jay Croucher
That's A.J.
Matthew Berry
brown.
Lawrence Jackson
Hey, guys.
Matthew Berry
Bill. Hey, Phil. What's up, Phil? Phil, Bill. Bill. Not even close. Sorry, sorry. I'm two and a half. But Dollarita's in. I'm taking the under here for Travis Kelce on the receptions again.
Lawrence Jackson
He built this up.
Jay Croucher
Why do you hate freedom, Matthew? America's part of the show.
Matthew Berry
America is part of the show. It's America's show. It is America's show. Even though we have an Australian show. Let me try to at least hit some rim. I got two. I'm going to the lane. I'm going to the line.
Lawrence Jackson
You did get fouled.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, in.1 yards per pass attempt. And oh, by the way, wow.
Jay Croucher
Get some water and get some.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. And they allow 9.1 yards per pass attempt, second most in the NFL since week two. And oh, by the way, now they gotta face Jackson, Smith and Jigba.
Jay Croucher
Well, yeah, glug, glug.
Matthew Berry
What?
Jay Croucher
Don't you do it like me and Lawrence are doing?
Matthew Berry
No, you actually flip the cup. No, you flip it like so. It lands like that. Yeah. This is off to our thoughts. These guys have never played differently.
Lawrence Jackson
I don't know about. I don't know about this.
Matthew Berry
Count of three, go. Mine's down.
Lawrence Jackson
There we go.
Jay Croucher
Matthew.
Matthew Berry
Three.
Jay Croucher
I already did it. I thought we had to land it on top though, so I kept on doing it.
Backup Producer Pete
Four.
Connor Rogers
Never played four.
Matthew Berry
I think I actually won American champagne, J. American.
Lawrence Jackson
Nah, I think we had it the right way.
Matthew Berry
We have it the wrong way. You guys wanted the flip cup in the history. How bad was that? Man? That was brutal. That was so awesome. K Gemma. 89J is so off. There we go.
Lawrence Jackson
Nah, N. No. God, no.
Matthew Berry
I have college age kids. Jay has like, you know, five year olds.
Jay Croucher
Three, two, one, go.
Matthew Berry
Wait, no, no, no. What are you doing?
Jay Croucher
I will count him.
RotoPat
Okay.
Matthew Berry
Three, two, one, go. I'm keeping up. I'm keeping up.
Denny Carter
Yeah.
Matthew Berry
Thank you. Kind of been a Diamond awards.
Jay Croucher
It was surprising that he was so close to us.
Matthew Berry
I'm keeping up with you guys. That's why we had you grab the mic for the comment. Have you ever pondered what the storyline would be for Croc 4? For Croc 4? Yeah, it's. It's. Yeah. Jay goes back to Australia. Jay Gunn goes back to Australia and you know, he gets lost in the wilderness and there's an alligator about to eat him. And then, you know, the actual crocodile comes in and like does whatever it was he does that, talks to the animals and, you know, saves Jay. And then the two of them go on a swashbuckling adventure where they. They teach the Aborigines how to Gamble. I can drink. I could drink a 20 pack of beer and I feel nothing. I don't know what it is. I'm dead. Seriously, just. Beer does not. Beer does not get me drunk. But like, Pinot Grigio will mess me up. So if I'm going, that one ain't gonna do you. I'm just telling, like, it goes down easy and it, like it gets you going. And so just if you're. If you're in a mood to like. Hey, I'd like to get a little buzzed here. Just. I'm just. Beer just doesn't do anything for me.
Jay Croucher
Unbelievable.
Matthew Berry
I'm impervious to alcohol when it comes in the form of beer. Impervious.
Jay Croucher
It's completely insane stance to take. It was true, though.
Matthew Berry
I'm just telling you, it's true science. Down, up, down.
Jay Croucher
Oh, there's wind.
Matthew Berry
The wind is outrageous. Oh, that counts. No. Who did it? The man with the neck collar.
Lawrence Jackson
Well, we got Jay Croucher right here.
Matthew Berry
That's the going Jake after J Copter.
Lawrence Jackson
Jake, J. Cop cheated.
Jay Croucher
Well done, Jay. Matthew, you lost.
Matthew Berry
Don't keep doing it.
Jay Croucher
No, stop, stop now.
Matthew Berry
There you go. If you're wondering why Jay is staring off camera the whole time, he's looking at the tiny TV with the Colts game on. It's not that tiny tv, but you're absolutely right. You have three young children at home.
Jay Croucher
Sure, if that's a one. If the Colts.
Matthew Berry
That's my question is if the Colts lose the amount of money you have on the Colts to. If, if they lose, will you have to sell one of your children?
Jay Croucher
Well, I'll tell you this. If the Colts lose for the shoe, we won't have any shoes left in the house. We'll be selling the shoes
Lawrence Jackson
with as we see Tyler Warren keep the game alive here.
Matthew Berry
Thought he was gonna drop that. I'm streaming the game and it's delayed a few minutes. Please stop killing the game for me by reacting, Jay. And look, this is what he does. He's the ruiner. Just every day.
Lawrence Jackson
Taylor.
Matthew Berry
Jonathan Taylor. Jonathan Taylor, by the way. 218 yards. This scores for the.
Connor Rogers
He's got a turn for three Monday.
Lawrence Jackson
Third touchdown of the day.
Jay Croucher
Give him the mvp.
Connor Rogers
That was some of the worst flip cup I've ever witnessed in my life on multiple occasions.
Matthew Berry
It's so brutal, the conditions in the
Connor Rogers
outdoor one, I'll give you that.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. The four of you in the studio, but yeah.
Jay Croucher
We ready to talk about Matthew's sunglasses in Pittsburgh looking like Junior Soprano?
Connor Rogers
I'm ready to discuss.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Jay Croucher
What the hell was that?
Connor Rogers
Those definitely were not yours.
Matthew Berry
No, that's exactly. That's exactly right. Yeah. I mean, I had. I had forgotten sunglasses. And so, yes, they were given to me.
Connor Rogers
Someone's grandpa got out of the nursing
Matthew Berry
home and just showed up on the NBC Junior Soprano. Yeah, I was. I am surprised the Diet Coke clip did not make it. Make the cut.
Connor Rogers
Well, the. The spiller. Well, you've actually spilled on fantasy football, pregame and on fantasy.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, I've spilled many places. C.J.
Jay Croucher
spillo.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, C.J. spillo. That's right.
Connor Rogers
The ruiner was the rune lure.
Matthew Berry
Exactly. And the lure thing, there's so much. So much that we.
Connor Rogers
Well, the excuse lure was in all time.
Matthew Berry
Excuse lure. Unbelievable.
Jay Croucher
We got the brown gobbler in there.
Matthew Berry
The brown gobbler. I wish we could keep that going.
Connor Rogers
A lot of good times.
Matthew Berry
Yes.
Connor Rogers
Some of the best times as well. When the substitute teacher ran the show as well.
Matthew Berry
Backup producer Pete, always fun.
Connor Rogers
And the chat knew within three minutes if it was a backup producer pet day.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
So for one more rodeo, backup producer Pete is here.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. Come on. There you go. Backup producer in full uniform wearing a Mets hat, of course.
Jay Croucher
17 and 25, baby.
Connor Rogers
Right. Two in a row.
Matthew Berry
There we go.
Stuntman Chuck
That's a winning streak.
Jay Croucher
Yes.
Matthew Berry
No, no, I brought.
Stuntman Chuck
I brought a prop. This is. This is my most thrown under the bus. Backup producer Pete. Steven pitched his show to me. He said, oh, well, we're thinking, who could we have on the show? And, oh, we gotta have Pete. I was like, oh, wow, that's really nice of you. And he's like. Because, like, no one's been ripped more
Matthew Berry
than you on this show.
Stuntman Chuck
I was like, okay, well, that's the reason.
Matthew Berry
This is true. But by the way, you coming with these two props is the most prepared you've ever been for this show.
Connor Rogers
That's a good point.
Stuntman Chuck
The reason they need it in the first three minutes of the Peach show is because it started three minutes late.
Jay Croucher
So.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, yeah, there you go. It's also fair. Yes, also fair.
Jay Croucher
The enduring images of the teacher wheeling in the TV and starting on vhs. Deadpool Society goes in. And then we start choose those.
Stuntman Chuck
Correct. Correct.
Matthew Berry
Correct. Exactly. Pete, I have to tell you the one thing that I will give Pete. Look, we always had so much fun on the shows that you produced. You're really great. No, no, no. But Pete is a. Despite the fact that your real job is, you know, you produce Sunday Night Football. You do sims unbutton. You do a lot of different things here. At the network. But you are a very good fantasy player. You. You are a multi time. You are a multi year champion of the league of assholes. You've won the football league, you've won the basketball league. You are, you are. You are truly a force to be reckoned with.
Stuntman Chuck
Which you need to remind my home league that I've been in the longest, which I have not won since the George Bush administration.
Connor Rogers
So.
Stuntman Chuck
So all my friends who think that like, oh, well, you know, you work in sports.
Backup Producer Pete
How do you not win this league every year?
Stuntman Chuck
Well, I'm too busy winning other leagues. Like the happy hour.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, and ignoring your children.
Connor Rogers
Exactly. But you keep the group chat vibes extremely high.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, you're good. You're good on the group chat. I got to give you credit. You're. You're a good text.
Stuntman Chuck
I got my priorities, you know, group chat first, kid second, and then that's
Matthew Berry
how it should be.
Connor Rogers
Hey, did you take the kids to school? No, I'm on waivers right now.
Matthew Berry
Waivers right now. I gotta pick up trying to get Joe Flacco.
Connor Rogers
All right, all right, we're back after this.
Matthew Berry
Stuntman Chuck here and I want to
Big Show
say more than the football analysis.
Matthew Berry
I'm gonna miss the off topic rants.
Connor Rogers
Drinking diet Coke, getting loopy on Robituss,
Matthew Berry
bad movie takes, Finding Nemo pitches, long form storytelling, all the thrills, all the spills. So to Connor, Lawrence, Jay and Matthew, so long.
Big Show
Until next time, the crown is yours.
Jay Croucher
Peace out.
Matthew Berry
Raise the flags here at Buka 2026 Ride or Die. I hope everybody has a great summer.
Stuntman Chuck
I know I've been very busy.
Jay Croucher
I got a little LJ on the
Blake (Penn State Blake)
way and asked my wife what we're doing for dinner tonight and she said likely eating out. So peace out. Have a good one. It's finals week and it's time to present my happy hour thesis. Watching the show is like watching a Chris Jones 40. Our wardrobe is questionable. We're not the fastest. We got tons of jiggling going on. About halfway through, when you least expect it, something magical might pop out. Something large, girthy, and unexpected. Meanwhile, Alex is in the back wondering if NBC is going to get fined. We collectively belly flop, bounce back to our feet and laugh together. And that's where I want to pivot. Because whether you're having the best of days, worst of days, you're in perfect health or you're undergoing life saving treatment, tuning into this show is completely awesome. You guys bring the fantasy knowledge, but more specifically, you bring the laughs and the joy. So for me, that's perfection. Whatever happens next, we'll find Ganimo. And to the entire Happy Hour crew, all the best to you and your family. This show is absolutely incredible. Thank you so much, guys.
Valiant Vincent
Hey everyone, it's Valiant Vincent and I'm here from the Fantasy Football Happy Hour desk. Well, not really, but this is the best I could do. I just wanted to say how much I enjoy being a part of this community, how much I've enjoyed the show in this past year and in the past couple of years, getting able to interact with the chat, be part of the community. I've made some friendships here that I think are really going to last the rest of my life. I really do appreciate all of you so much. And it's an honor for me personally to be the admin of the Fantasy Football Happy Hour Discord, where we have the additional conversations and everything. Being part of the community and feeling like I'm involved with the show has been one of the greatest things that I've ever experienced fantasy football wise in my life. I really appreciate, appreciate it so much and I'm really, really proud to call myself a regular.
Connor Rogers
Excellent work from the regulars. Love every bit of the videos, everything we've heard.
Matthew Berry
That was awesome. Thank you.
Connor Rogers
Excellent set backdrop.
Matthew Berry
Exactly. That's the best all four of us
Connor Rogers
have ever looked together. By the way.
Matthew Berry
Unbelievable.
Lawrence Jackson
Just blew away in the ween.
Jay Croucher
Yeah.
Matthew Berry
Raise the flag. Stuntman Chuck Medici. Jonathan Medici. Valiant Vincent and the the. I highly recommend joining the Discord. If you haven't, I will. I'm gonna try to pop in every Thursday at noon, noon Eastern on the. You know, on the. During the off season here into the. Into the Discord. I recommend you guys doing it well. It's very fun. A lot of Diet Coke memes they brought themselves.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, there it is.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, there you go. There you go. Lawrence Jackson joining the desk. What's up, my friend, man?
Lawrence Jackson
Thank you for having me today. And you know, every other day I've been part of this show, man. It's been a pleasure to contribute here and get on air with you boys. This, for me it was different. Cause this was my first opportunity on air. So it was like, oh, damn, they really going. They really letting me get away with this. But then, you know, as the shows go on, we built the camaraderie. We all end up at Connor's wedding. So things like that, like the regulars were saying, it's become more than just, you know, like spitting out fantasy advice, just like the camaraderie of the guys. And then the guys and gals who are regulars. So, man, it's been an honor to get on with y' all boys, man.
Jay Croucher
Yeah. I also just want the record to show that the highest rated show of the highest rated episode of the show ever was NBC for some reason, rerunning. Me and Lawrence, just the two of us, after the New Year's Eve show with like Miley Cyrus or something. So me and Lawrence, the two of us,
Matthew Berry
that's, that's. That's on brand for the entire show as well. And you know, Lawrence here, you're saying, I can't believe they're letting me get away with this. I felt like that's the entire time for the same. All of us that they, you know, I can't believe they. They pay us to do this. So, yeah, it's been awesome. And we'll. So we're keeping the show going, actually, after the. We have to end it at the end, at the end of the hour for Peacock. But we'll do a special half hour. There's an after hours, if you will, that will live on. They'll live on YouTube and the podcast and so. And we'll do a Q and A with all the, all the questions in the chat. But yeah, it's been awesome, man. Like, I love the show and like I said, I'm. I'm very hopeful that, that we get to do this again.
Jay Croucher
Yep, absolutely. And for me, it's. The main thing is that it's never felt like a job remotely. It's never felt like work. It's just felt like coming in and, you know, just talking to friends about football. And also, like the feedback that we get, you know, from the regulars and just from everyone else, like people who come up to me when I'm at an airport or at my kids gymnastics lesson, like, that means a ton because, you know, we drive in here, sit at the desk, talk about football, drive home. It just kind of exists in its own world for me. And so when people actually, you know, come up and talk to me that, you know, they're actually watching the show and listening to the show, it means a ton.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, I echo that as well. I think the most important thing you should do in life and if you can at work, it's amazing, is laugh. And what I loved about this show is I could never predict what we were gonna laugh about each day. I just knew we were gonna laugh. And then when we had the chat this year, our fourth season, I realized everybody felt like they were laughing with us.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
And that made it feel particularly special. So I've enjoyed being a small part of that every single episode.
Matthew Berry
It's all been awesome. I can't tell you how many times I'll be at home sitting on the couch and I'll laugh and my wife will be like, what? And I'd like. It's the happy hour group chat like our group chat is. And, you know, Pete is a good contributor there as well, but everyone kind of chimes in as well. And, and I agree with you, like, the fans have just made it so great this year that all the, all the regulars as well. And so that's. I'm excited about the discord. Thank you, Valiant Vincent, for doing that. And by the way, we get to be on camera. But it's. It is a true cast of thousands. That is. That brings you this show over the last four years.
Blake (Penn State Blake)
Connor.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, a long list of names here, but a thank you to everybody on this graphic. From everybody working on the show behind the scenes, producing, producing the show, to our makeup staff, to our wardrobe staff. It's a graphics a lot of people to make this show what it is. And a massive thank you to each and every one of them for helping us for every single episode.
Matthew Berry
I normally say it's closing time and you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. But stay here because after this, we've got another half hour. It's after hours on the happy hour. We'll be right back. It is noon on Monday on Peacock, but it is five o' clock somewhere, possibly in Phoenix, Arizona, where the super bowl is and where a party is happening at the media center in the convention center in downtown Phoenix. See? Done. This look like a party. It's very early in the morning. He's Jay Croucher. I'm Matthew Berry. We are live from the Super Bowl. It's very exciting. I've been here before. I know this is your first time, so I know it's your first time. So if I can give you some rules of advice, some helpful hints, you got to keep moving because otherwise you're going to get hit up. Like, I'm. I don't want to brag. I don't want to, you know, I'm like, whatever, but I don't want to brag. But I'm. I've already been booked on the Ithaca College sports podcast.
Jay Croucher
We were watching the NFL honors last night. We were kind of just marveling at the Christmas crispness of the man bun.
Matthew Berry
Thank you.
Jay Croucher
1 no, because I, I had a man bun. Briefly in my younger youth in Australia. And it just didn't work at all. It was like a half Asian, Australian kind of. It was like Val Kilmer and Heat, but, like bad. Like a really bad Val Kilmer and Heat.
Matthew Berry
I don't know if that could be bad.
Jay Croucher
Well, I made it bad. I. I did my job.
Matthew Berry
I know that you're wearing the big hat. Your big hat, Brian Robinson. I have my own big hat here. I was inspired. Do you have a piece of this company, by the way? Because the big hat thing happened entirely because of you wearing. In the post game, no one had seen a big hat. And then you were all over the Internet. You went viral with it. Please tell me you have a piece of this company, bro.
Lawrence Jackson
I haven't heard nothing from them.
Jay Croucher
Well, I feel very naked and silly without my own big hat, which is a strange thing, to feel silly by not wearing a big hat, but there we go. Thank you, Brian.
Matthew Berry
He can't wear it. He can't wear my. He can't wear my hat. Look at that. I gotta keep. And I don't know if you remember this, but you and I met once before. Before I interviewed you at the NFL rookie premiere. And you told me you were a good juggler. I asked you to juggle something. I asked you to juggle little mini helmets, which you ended up doing and which we used on Sunday Night Football. So I wanted to see. See if we can do it. Can I back up a little bit? How we doing? Yeah, back up. Yeah, do whatever you got to. Make a mess. We got down.
Lawrence Jackson
Come on.
Matthew Berry
Oh, look at that. Very impressive. No, no messes at all. We don't need to use the. We don't need to use the bounty at all. I'll show you. This is a picture from yesterday. Stephen, go ahead and show the picture from yesterday if you can. So this was great. This is Connor. This is me and you.
Connor Rogers
Yeah.
Matthew Berry
Jay Croucher, and of course, Emmett Smith, the greatest running back of all time. That's the picture we took. So it was a wonderful interview, the three of us. It's really great. But if you went to Jay's Instagram, this is what was posted.
Connor Rogers
Oh, my goodness.
Matthew Berry
Oh.
Connor Rogers
Oh, my goodness. I actually did not see this. Cross City, baby. He said to me that, jokingly, he's like, should I post this? And I laughed. I didn't think he actually was going.
Matthew Berry
He did. He cut you and I both out of it. It's just him and Emmett Smith. As if he interviewed Emmett Smith.
Connor Rogers
Yeah. By himself or like their friends. Like old friends.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. Yeah. Me and my boy Emmett.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, yeah, Emmett came by. Emmett looks so comfortable that it's like they're just hanging out.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, it's like. It's just outrage.
Jay Croucher
Like you want to know. Well, what else?
Matthew Berry
What else?
Jay Croucher
I've been doing that all week, baby. You haven't noticed a lot of photos of me and my boy Matt Ryan, just the two of us. I noticed Max Saquon.
Matthew Berry
You noticed today. What?
Denny Carter
What?
Connor Rogers
Well, I was having some coffee. You were talking to someone, and Jay was in that chair nine minutes before show. And I was like, jay really wants to get to the desk and get ready.
Matthew Berry
He.
Connor Rogers
He clearly takes that seat for a reason. This is all orchestrated.
Lawrence Jackson
I wanna fly. I like it. Ego.
Matthew Berry
Don't hurt yourself enough.
Lawrence Jackson
To the sea. Fly like an eagle.
Matthew Berry
Let the spirit carry me.
Lawrence Jackson
I want to fly.
Matthew Berry
Easy, easy. Fly right into the future. I'm going to feed the babies.
Lawrence Jackson
All right.
Connor Rogers
Hey, I don't.
Lawrence Jackson
Hey, I a seen
Matthew Berry
scale of 1. What are we talking about here? Don't hurt yourself.
Lawrence Jackson
I just hurt myself. Ask me one on football.
Matthew Berry
Ask me another girl. Dang seal.
Lawrence Jackson
Just gonna do me like that.
Matthew Berry
So, Trevor Trevler, we'd like you to do our celebrity pong shot here.
Connor Rogers
One shot.
Matthew Berry
You got one shot here. I'm sure you played a little beer pong at Clemson in your day.
Connor Rogers
No, never. First time.
Matthew Berry
Oh, let's go. There you go. That is why here's the. One of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Oh, yeah. There we go. Hang on. Wait, wait, hang on.
Connor Rogers
Let me.
Matthew Berry
Let me roll on this in case you nail it. Okay. All right, Go ahead. They're rolling on it. Oh, let's go. Oh, let's go. Easy money, easy money. So I have a dad bod. I'm not a good athlete as well, but is there a UFC move that you could. Is there, like a MMA move that you could teach somebody like me? Like, is there like, one? Or is it just all, like. You have to actually be, like, a very good athlete. Is there, like, one simple move that you could teach? Like. Oh, yeah, sure. All right, let's teach me. Will you teach me?
Backup Producer Pete
Yeah.
Blake (Penn State Blake)
All right.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. Right now.
Connor Rogers
How do we do this? This.
Matthew Berry
This called a rear neck choke. So you face this rear. No, rear neck choke of this bone. Yeah. Alcohol. I'm tapping out. I'm tapping out. That's amazing.
Jay Croucher
Oh, unbelievable.
Matthew Berry
Oh, yeah.
Jay Croucher
Keep the blade on his neck. This is terrifying. Oh, my God.
Matthew Berry
Fold his hand behind his head.
Jay Croucher
This feels like Dustin.
Backup Producer Pete
Oh, my God.
Matthew Berry
Put behind his Head. Push his head forward and pull your elbow. Oh, yeah. Oh, all right.
Jay Croucher
I'm glad that was Matthew Barry, not Dustin Poirier doing that on me. Unbelievable.
Matthew Berry
My best friend now. Yeah.
Jay Croucher
Okay. That was remarkable content. Terrifying content, but remarkable content.
Matthew Berry
The art of the joke.
Connor Rogers
Oh, man. A lot of good times in radio.
Matthew Berry
Oh, Radio Road has always been awesome. We've gotten some great guests and played along a lot in a big way.
Connor Rogers
I mean, Emmett going along with our whole Leave a Man behind in Vegas.
Matthew Berry
Amazing.
Connor Rogers
Yep.
Jay Croucher
Ben Johnson, Jan and Man Bun is nightmare fuel. I agree. That's why.
Matthew Berry
I don't know. We should have gotten a picture. How did we not?
Connor Rogers
So you really have.
Matthew Berry
Very briefly.
Jay Croucher
Very briefly.
Matthew Berry
How old were you when you were doing that?
Jay Croucher
18.
Connor Rogers
Oh, okay.
Lawrence Jackson
You was, like, 27.
Connor Rogers
Ryan diamond said croucher bun looks bad. Minus 500.
Jay Croucher
That's true.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. That's why we should live. Him just walking at school with kangaroos around him. You know, the man bun, the whole thing. Yeah.
Jay Croucher
Keeps him away.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. Makes sense.
Connor Rogers
Watching the Radio Row segments back actually made me think of a time not Radio Row, but when we went to Vegas.
Matthew Berry
Yes.
Connor Rogers
That was when I was like, I don't know. This is gonna be hard to carry on the show this long. We were wounded soldiers on that set.
Matthew Berry
We were indeed. Like, we. It was the show. I think the show aired at. Whatever was it, 9am I feel like we were earlier than noon that year. It was the first year we went to Vegas, and we just went out the. We went out every night. We enjoyed Vegas. And then we rolled into.
Connor Rogers
Pretty much.
Matthew Berry
Right. Rolled into it. Yeah.
Jay Croucher
I vividly remember waiting at the exit of our hotel with Connor in the morning, about to, you know, take an Uber to our set or whatever. And then we see you coming in a little late and you trying to get down the escalator.
Connor Rogers
Never forget.
Jay Croucher
Almost didn't make it. Yeah. It was a bit of a stumble at the top.
Matthew Berry
That was a night where I did not have beer. I definitely had a lot of Pinot Grigios, I think.
Connor Rogers
Aloha Bricks. LJ would get zero Chair turns on the Voice. I'm sorry.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
But the point is, you had the confidence.
Matthew Berry
You had the confidence to sing in front of Seal.
Lawrence Jackson
Yeah, I mean, look, I was. Look, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. I was trying to get off of this show. I'm trying to get a record deal.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Lawrence Jackson
I got a Seal right there. I'm like, hey, like Eminem, you only get one shot. Do not miss your Chance to blow.
Jay Croucher
Debo Samuel didn't know what the hell was going on. No.
Connor Rogers
He was kind of just there, which I know that feeling sometimes.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Lawrence Jackson
His laugh was like, damn, I'm a professional football player sitting here. I probably should laugh. So let me at least grin and then let out a little. And that's kind of what you. That's kind of what Devo was feeling in that situation.
Matthew Berry
I feel like that's the attitude of a lot of guests that come on our show. Just sort of like, where's this gonna go? Where's this gonna go? What am I doing? What did I sign up for? Like, man, this brand isn't paying me enough to do this.
Connor Rogers
Besides Rob Riggle, right?
Matthew Berry
He had the full on army gear. Yeah, yeah, he had the full on army gear. He's promoting a golf brand.
Jay Croucher
My. Our best interview ever. And that will be stored somewhere in the deep archives of YouTube. But it's Chris Johnson, CJ2K, at the Super Bowl, I think, in Vegas, coming on. And so, you know, we get handed, like, a sheet of, like, who's the sponsor that you promote?
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Jay Croucher
So I get handed the sheet saying, Airbnb. And so I was like, hey, Chris, can you tell us about your partnership with Airbnb? And he's like, I don't have a partnership with Airbnb. I just have a house in Nashville. Everyone should join
Matthew Berry
my Airbnb. Okay. You could promote my Airbnb. Promoting his own Airbnb.
Jay Croucher
Yeah.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. Like, I got some titan stuff in there.
Lawrence Jackson
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
I think it was pretty cool, though.
Jay Croucher
That's how you run for 2,000 yards in the NFL.
Matthew Berry
Yep. That's right. CJ2K. Yeah. I had forgotten about that as well. Everyone played along with the beer pong. That was a ton of fun. The. The Vegas trip was great. I remember just all the. All the different stops that we made, especially specifically with fantasy football pregame. Yeah, it's always fun. The fans always came out when we were able to do them, like, at the Applebee's awesome show in Houston that
Jay Croucher
I remember very fondly.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, Houston. Houston was great. Yeah, Philly was amazing. Pittsburgh. Yeah.
Connor Rogers
Security guard issue.
Jay Croucher
Yeah.
Matthew Berry
Oh, my God. I thought that would make a clip. Yeah, that security guard. These two, Lawrence and Jay were with me that night. That guy.
Jay Croucher
You're very upset, Ryan Oswald.
Connor Rogers
Escalators are new technology for Barry. That's really good, Ryan.
Matthew Berry
I mean, you know, when I was born, they weren't around. I was born, they weren't around.
Connor Rogers
The Finding Nemo pitch.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
The final Nemo pitch that happened, like, three different times. And you told the whole thing.
Matthew Berry
Everyone died. Damn right. Damn right I did. I know Aloha Bricks is sick, by the way, so he wasn't able to send in a video. But I do got to give a shout out to Aloha Bricks, who has been there, like, every single day, you
Connor Rogers
know, so our regular of the year.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, I think he was regular of the year. He beat up Medici. Yeah, for sure.
Connor Rogers
Valiant Vincent, when do we get the full pitch for finding Nemo 3? Barry's flooded basement. Oh, yeah.
Matthew Berry
Oh, speaking of Aloha Bricks, we have a statement.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, nice statement. Aloha, everybody. A message from Aloha Bricks. First off, I would like to thank the regulars. We are all the regular of the year award winners. I raised my glass to you and it's been a great journey and year with you folks. I can't wait till our fantasy leagues next year. If anybody wants to join our leagues next year, My email is aloha brick74mail.com to the producers, staff, and camera crew. We don't see every day. You're the heart and soul of the show. We all appreciate your hard work and effort. You dedicate to this great show. So a big mahalo to everybody behind the scenes.
Matthew Berry
Definitely a nice hollow to everyone behind the scenes. Oh, there's more.
Connor Rogers
Oh, we got a part two here. Aloha Bricks. He is not done.
Matthew Berry
It's like my Finding Nemo pitch. It keeps going.
Connor Rogers
Yes, this one will get picked up finally. To Barry, Connor, Jay, L.J. and George, I want to say you folks are not only great fantasy analysts, but even greater people. Mahalo for showing everybody in the chat that Aloha and great monospirit we talk about in Hawaii every morning was worth waking up and watching this great show. It would always be the highlight of my day. This show has brought great joy to me.
Matthew Berry
Thank you.
Connor Rogers
We are not done just yet.
Matthew Berry
Oh, my goodness.
Connor Rogers
If any of you are ever on the Big island, please don't hesitate to reach out. And I will always make time to show you around the island or have a meal. You are all now my ohana Hui Ho. Is that right? Until we meet again. For now, but not forever. Aloha Josiah, aka Aloha Josiah. Wow, that's regular of the year level. What a sure statement from Aloha.
Jay Croucher
What a great name reveal at the end as well.
Connor Rogers
Yes.
Jay Croucher
Like Homer J. Simpson.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Kate Gemma said Aloha wrote Finding Nemo 4.
Matthew Berry
It didn't go on for A while.
Connor Rogers
It was good, though.
Matthew Berry
But it was on brand. On brand for the show.
Connor Rogers
We learned from the best.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, of course. There you go.
Lawrence Jackson
For Aloha Bricks, though, I gotta say it. A lot of people say, hey, if you ever in my city, you know, hit me up. If I'm there, I'm gonna do it for real.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Lawrence Jackson
So, you know, hook me up. Free drinks, free food, free everything, you know?
Matthew Berry
Right. And we cut to Lawrence, living with Allah Bricks for six months. Like, kind of crash at your place, you know, Six months later, he's still there, hanging out.
Jay Croucher
Figured out living in Hawaii seems like a good plan.
Connor Rogers
Not a bad.
Matthew Berry
Every time I go to Hawaii, I'm just like, this is awesome.
Jay Croucher
But.
Matthew Berry
But I like that Aloha Bricks was like, hey, do you want to be in our. You know, if anyone wants to play in a league with all the regulars, shout out. And I think there's. I know there's at least mult. I know there's multiple leagues already planned for, fully filled. Yeah. And so I'm sure they'll do more. I'll also say this, like, we haven't even talked about this, but I feel like the league of. Has to continue regardless of anything. The league of assholes has to continue.
Connor Rogers
I'm very down.
Matthew Berry
Yes, we will do that.
Lawrence Jackson
With the team I had last year and could not win.
Matthew Berry
You.
Lawrence Jackson
You damn straight I want to be back. I got to go back for that draft. Six running backs in a row. We will be back.
Jay Croucher
To be fair, that worked out exactly how you would think it worked out. Where your running backs were awesome and you lost because you had Bryce Young and Michael Penix as your quarterbacks.
Lawrence Jackson
I had. What's his name? The hair guy with the mus. Gardner Minshew. That's who I had in the playoffs.
Matthew Berry
The hair guy with the hair.
Lawrence Jackson
A blank for. That's who I lost Roto Pat to.
Jay Croucher
Replaced by Chris Oladokin.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, very.
Jay Croucher
That's a.
Matthew Berry
That's a good pull. Yeah, that's a story. I will say that one of the things that's always impressed me, Jay, whenever I'm on air with you, is just your recall is the name polls. The recall, The. The. The 90s, NBA references. Like, you know, the. The obscure movies. Like, again, it's buried by Ryan Reynolds. Like, unbelievable.
Jay Croucher
It's funny. It's watching the. The first clip that we rolled to the highlights because I think I do have a good memory. But it goes to show how much stuff that we've done on this show that I have no memory whatsoever of interviewing AJ Brown.
Matthew Berry
AJ Brown.
Jay Croucher
It's like AJ Brown is an absolute superstar, but it's just, you know, we've done so much stuff over the past four years.
Connor Rogers
Yeah. You could probably name like the movies we debated and the random bits like your movie scripts, but.
Matthew Berry
Right.
Connor Rogers
The superstars we talk to.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, yeah. The fact you've never seen Star wars, which is still outrageous to me.
Connor Rogers
No, I think during paternity, though, instead of watching Star wars for the first time, I'm going to re. Watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Jay Croucher
Oh, wow.
Connor Rogers
Just to kind of reinforce the point. I have the time, but I'd rather watch movies I've already seen
Big Show
a prize.
Lawrence Jackson
Star wars either. Would you rather watch Star wars for the first time or Goodfellas 3?
Connor Rogers
I'm sorry, the Godfather 3.
Lawrence Jackson
Godfather 3.
Connor Rogers
I would give Star Wars a chance. Godfather 3. I think I'm with you on tough watch one time. Yes, sir. Even I have a draw a line in the sand.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Jay Croucher
To be fair, though, it's like, it's mainly bad because it's held in comparison to Godfather 1 and 2. It's a fairly standard film otherwise.
Matthew Berry
That's what I always say about Croc 3. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. It's just because it doesn't hold up
Jay Croucher
to one and Croc two.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Jay Croucher
I will say with Star wars that, you know, there's obviously films often, but there's six principal movies and I would say that four of them are bad. Basically. There's two good ones, which is certainly Empire Strikes Back and then it depends on your temperature. Return of the Jedi and A New Hope. A New Hope, which is terrible. For the first 30 minutes, this is just robots walking around in the desert. But the. The prequels are bad. Is a bad movie.
Matthew Berry
The. The prequels were. The prequels were bad. Very. A lot of politics. Like, it is, like, what's going on. It's not well written. Yeah, it's just like. It's just. Yeah. And. And. And the. God, why am I blanking on the who. Who is like, supposed to start and minshew? No. Who's the.
Jay Croucher
Jabba the Hutt?
Matthew Berry
No, not Jabba the Hutt.
Jay Croucher
Jar Jar Binks.
Matthew Berry
No, Jar Jar Binks. There you go. Yeah. He was just a bad character and super annoying. What are you gonna do? Valiant Vincent.
Connor Rogers
Yeah. Would Conor rather draft Magnolia to watch on his movie night or a Dolphins wide receiver?
Matthew Berry
That's a good question. Valiant Vincent. That's the tough one.
Connor Rogers
Chris Bell.
Denny Carter
Magnolia.
Jay Croucher
Magnolia variants. You haven't seen it before?
Connor Rogers
Yeah, no, I Need to watch Magnolia.
Matthew Berry
It's Jay's favorite movie of all time.
Connor Rogers
That'll make the paternity watch.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, that should be as well. Yeah, that's not bad. Drums.
Jay Croucher
Drumminice.
Matthew Berry
Drumminace.
Jay Croucher
Andre Drummond. Yeah. LOTR equals League of the Regulars.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Jay Croucher
The thing is, with Lord of the Rings, they're good movies. At least it's not like Phantom Menace.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. You'll win.
Jay Croucher
Yeah. I don't know if you need to rewatch it.
Connor Rogers
It's very long.
Matthew Berry
Magnolia is your favorite movie. What's your second favorite?
Connor Rogers
Give us about Rushmore.
Jay Croucher
Yeah, I don't have a funny. I really like Chinatown.
Matthew Berry
Maybe Chinatown. Hard to argue with that one. That one's great.
Jay Croucher
Yeah, I like old movies for them. Big. Casablanca.
Connor Rogers
Okay.
Jay Croucher
Yeah. Magnolia sits above.
Connor Rogers
Yeah.
Jay Croucher
Casablanca.
Connor Rogers
That's a unique take. That's why.
Jay Croucher
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
It's like, oh, your favorite movie of all time.
Matthew Berry
You like old movies. That's why you and I get of a lot along so well. You're an old soul.
Jay Croucher
Yeah, exactly. It's a Wonderful Life.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Jay Croucher
Which I know that you were there on opening day.
Matthew Berry
Yes, of course. I must spill. I. I should probably just spill something just for all time.
Jay Croucher
It'll happen naturally. Yeah. Long enough. And all drinks are spilled on this.
Matthew Berry
I'm. I'm. I'm sure it will. Connor, I have to tell you, and I think you do such a good job like it, because you're in, I think, a unique role where is. You have to host the show. So you have to sort of keep. You have to keep the regulars, you know, and me and Jay in check. Especially me, because as you know, I talk a lot, but then also off your analysis and finding your way. So I think it's a. It's a. It's a challenge. And when I think about all that you do, when you, you know, you obviously work with Chris Sims here at NBC, but also, you know, whether it's the stock exchange that you do with Trevor, the Mets podcast, Badlands, which is, as everyone knows, the second worst. Second best.
Connor Rogers
Second best.
Matthew Berry
Second best or worse. I mean, it's probably only two, so,
Connor Rogers
yeah,
Lawrence Jackson
really get that going.
Matthew Berry
Horse lands for me and Lawrence still
Connor Rogers
in the process of taking off, getting off the ground.
Lawrence Jackson
We making some calls.
Connor Rogers
The pilot making. Cause, yeah, the pilot of Worst Lands.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, exactly. We're still in the development phase of Worst Lands.
Jay Croucher
Scripting on Kenyans the Day segments.
Matthew Berry
Exactly. Well, listen, I. I might have some free time now, so we'll figure it out. No jokes aside, but I just. Connor, I think you do such a good job, and you're so versatile, and I just. I don't know that that's always appreciated.
Connor Rogers
Thank you, Matt.
Matthew Berry
You mean, like, it's. You make it look effortless. And so I really think you're the. You're the glue that has been able to let the show get to where it is.
Jay Croucher
There's a lot to be said, particularly when we have, you know, I think Connor really shines at the super bowl when we have, you know, these guests on and just knowing that there is a safe pair of hands where if you go off the rails and I don't have anything to say, Connor is very much going to make it. So Jonathan Taylor doesn't have nothing to say and that everyone, everyone, everything is going to keep rolling very smoothly.
Connor Rogers
Well, like I said, you guys make it a lot of fun. That's the easy of it. I never walked onto the set once and was worried about the rundown or worried about if we were going to cover the analysis side of it all, because you guys always had the answers for all of it as well. And Lawrence, it's also a credit to you for how seamlessly you just jump in and out of the show, because I think that's the hardest part role is when you're not doing something every day. But like, the second season of the show for me, because the first year I was freelancing here, so I'd host once a week and then a little more, and then I was here all the time, and then I was here every day. But it, you know, you get your feet under you and. And for this to be the first on air production that you worked on as well, it's a credit to you because I think it's. It's not hard to adjust because I think we all meld together so well, but it's not the easiest thing either.
Lawrence Jackson
For sure, man. Appreciate that, man. Y' all boys made it easy, man. Made it easy, man. It was. It was all. It was always fun for me. It's just like, hey, it's like, I remember when, before the first time I got on Alexa was just like, hey, you just talking to your friends at a bar, that's all you do. And it's about football. So, you know what, you know, what could come of that. So. Yeah, man.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. Honestly. And I think that's. I think that's right. I mean, I. I didn't know Alex had ever said that to you, but that's right. And I think that's. That's what we're Going for with the show is like, I always felt like fantasy football, the way when you're betting on sports, you're playing fantasy football. Like it happens at a bar. It doesn't happen behind a desk in a suit. Like you're hanging out at a bar with your buddies, BSing, talking about sports. What do we like? Come on, get in the end zone. Like, that's how you play it. I feel like that's how it exists. And so wanting to do a show like that. And I think you guys. And credit to NBC Sports and credit to producer Steven and Pete and Damian and Adam and everyone that's helped, you know, behind the scenes in terms of. Has created that and gone along with it and created that vibe, which is great. And the regulars have chimed in as well.
Connor Rogers
Philo, B25, if this is the end, thank you for everything, guys. You guys are the best. I hope you guys stay together.
Matthew Berry
We do as well, honestly. I mean, you know, there's. There's business decisions that. That need to be made. Happy hour will come back next year. It's just what Happy Hour specifically. That's the thing that's a little unchanged.
Connor Rogers
Fire. I think something we could all agree with. There's no other show like this one.
Matthew Berry
No.
Connor Rogers
For the best and worst reasons.
Matthew Berry
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
I would absolutely agree with that one. So thank you. Fix it, Fire. We also got a lot of comments rolling in here. This One from Lakers Sinceta 80s. Since the 80s. This was the fantasy football show to watch.
Jay Croucher
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
We really appreciate.
Jay Croucher
Matthew's been lakers since the 40s when
Matthew Berry
they were in Minneapolis.
Connor Rogers
Since the inception. Yeah. Wherever the Lakers come regular.
Lawrence Jackson
That's got to be the last one. That's got to be the last one.
Matthew Berry
Well done. That's very well done. Very well. Shirtless Ben Johnson here. Vibe of the show is exactly what we love. The feel of it and having it makes it special. We appreciate you guys and want to ensure it keeps going. Thank you. Shirtless Ben Johnson. That's. We agree.
Connor Rogers
That was the goal.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, that was the goal. And the fact that you guys got that and came along for the ride with us just made it more special. We've all collectively said this. I think we've said this on air, but I know we've all said this privately. This is our favorite year of the show. And it's because of. Because of the regulars, honestly.
Jay Croucher
Yeah.
Connor Rogers
The chat has elevated to a different level.
Jay Croucher
Yeah. And before we sign, I just want to make sure that we call out in particular the work that Stephen d' Agostino and Damian Dabrowski have done because they have really driven the show for the past four years.
Matthew Berry
No question.
Jay Croucher
It is, you know, six days a week during football season. You know, these guys are both recently married, and they poured their lives into this. I'm looking at a show note right now of, like, notes about Juwan Jennings, who, you know, we're not going to talk about, but just that level of work that has gone in has made all this possible. So Stephen, Damien, there's a lot of other people.
Connor Rogers
Cheers to them.
Jay Croucher
Who have done a lot of work,
Matthew Berry
but those two are here every single day. So cheers. Cheers. Stephen and Damien, no doubt somebody talked
Lawrence Jackson
about the camaraderie and I think the reason why it worked as far as a fantasy football show, a lot of shows, just sports shows in general, you got a lot of similar personalities, but I think we're all different. Like, I know I couldn't be any more different. I know I talk a certain way. I talk my, you know, I talk my talk, whatever, but I think we're all different. And we all was able to mesh it together. And then it came. It came out as this and we got. We got regulars now. I'm like, for me, like, that's crazy, man. Like, yeah, just, like, got him.
Matthew Berry
There you go. Look, he sings with Seal. He's acting like you're a multi force. You're. You're an egot waiting to happen.
Connor Rogers
SEC man quarterback. SEC man said, salute to stupid Dev.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, exactly. I was surprised. Well, I said. I literally said, can stupid Dev. Emmy award winning stupid Dev. Can Emmy award winning stupid Dev call in? And he can't because he's actually working on the show. He's actually doing our graphics. But, yes, Salute to stupid Dev. Yeah, don't we have a comment from Deb? Deb, like, posted something.
Connor Rogers
It was like two hours ago, but it was a good comment. I laughed in my head. I don't remember what it was. I'm not burgundy. I just read whatever's on the screen. There you go.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, that is funny.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, there you go. That wasn't it.
Jay Croucher
Of course.
Connor Rogers
From Dev Stafford. Salute to all of you boys.
Lawrence Jackson
Yeah, I like his profile picture too. He's got his custom name plate.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. Is that a custom guy?
Jay Croucher
So what is he, like LeBron James for the liquor brand?
Matthew Berry
You know what? I'll say this about. About stupid Dev. Emmy award winning stupid Dev, I should say. But, like, it gives you an example. Like, what was great, what is great about Dev and what I think is great about everyone on the show. Both behind the scenes and here in front of us is that, like, everyone just sort of got the joke and embraced it, you know, as opposed to being offended by, quote unquote, stupid Dev. Like, he loved it and he played into it and he put it on. You know, he put it on his Instagram and like, he, you know, he's. He's been a part of it. He's a part of the fabric of the show. And just, you know, I just, you know, one took. We took the show seriously, but none of us took ourselves seriously.
Connor Rogers
That's the most important thing.
Matthew Berry
Yeah. And so.
Jay Croucher
Yeah.
Matthew Berry
And I think, you know, so shout out to just everyone that they got the joke and we were supposed to
Lawrence Jackson
be taking this show serious. This.
Matthew Berry
No, sir, not you. No, you're good.
Lawrence Jackson
All right.
Connor Rogers
Aloha, Brick said Dev making his nameplate look like an entrance to a gated community.
Jay Croucher
Yeah. That needs to be interrogated. I'm not sure about this sort of the challenge flag. Dev's avatar.
Connor Rogers
The Dev's Stafford neighborhood.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, exactly. No one's allowed in. Yeah, it's a little. Yeah, it's either that or it's like a Dev stack. Yeah, exactly. Like Dev Manor. You know what I mean? Like something. Yeah. Expect it to be. I want to. As long as we're giving shout outs here, I also want to say this. I want to say legitimately, like I said, I don't know exactly what my future is going to be, but I want to take a moment here. I'm going to say thank you to NBC Sports significantly. First off, just, you know, the fact that they're for the. For this show, specifically the support for this show has been phenomenal. We've never. The four of us, we've never gotten a note. I mean, maybe you guys have. I've literally never been like, hey, that joke was too far. Hey, you know, you need to talk more about sports or whatever. Like the NBC Sports. The suits. Shout out to Alexa, Shout out to Danielle, shout out to Matt Casey. We've never gotten, like, pushback or. No, all we've gotten is, hey, I think it's funny. I think you guys are ourselves. Be yourselves. And so shout out to that. And also just shout out to NBC Sports in general, Rick Cordella on down, because we're getting to do this. A lot of times, you know, you don't get a last show. You know, and the fact that we are getting. We are getting a last show and we got it live. Like, I mean, you know, like, they don't know what I'M going to say and like. But they. I appreciate the trust from them and I wouldn't have done it. I would have trusted me. But, you know, but no, legitimately. And so, you know, it's been an unbelievable run. Like I said, still talking. Rest assured, there's nothing final. But I want to take this moment here since this is the last show of the season, regardless, just to say thank you to NBC Sports.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, they've been with you all the way on that.
Matthew Berry
Yeah, Fantastic as well. And, you know, anything else? We got, like a minute to go.
Lawrence Jackson
You just got. Put the Barry 29 jersey in the rafters now.
Jay Croucher
Well, giving us our final minute, someone who hasn't really got a thank you yet is thank you, Matthew, for, you know, allowing us to be a part of the show for, you know, I think the one thing I'll take away from working for you, working with you for these four years, is that you just bring relentless energy and that you're always up for these shows and that, you know, you really lead the way and that, you know, I think that a lot of the reason why people, you know, know who I am at all and have elevated all their profiles is because of the opportunities that you've brought to us. So thank you, my friend.
Connor Rogers
Yeah, a huge thank you for me. I remember after I auditioned for this show, I got in the car ride home and my girlfriend at the time, now wife, who is about to have our first child, called me, you know, how was it? I was like, oh, it was terrible. I didn't get that job. Like, it was. She's like, oh, you're always hard on yourself.
Matthew Berry
I'm like, nah.
Connor Rogers
I was like, I just didn't get it. It's, you know, it's hard. And I got to freelance and then I got to sit here full time next to you. And it's been not only an honor because I watched you on TV for so long, but just that you became a friend. And like Jay said, you became a friend, a mentor, and how many laughs we had. And just it is hard talking about fantasy football six days a week on it in front of a camera with that level of energy. And I have the utmost respect for you to be able to do that.
Matthew Berry
Thank you.
Lawrence Jackson
Hey, look, man, I ain't even do no audition. I just showed up here one day and it was like, hey, one day it was a 15 minute segment. The next time it was two segments. And then I'm doing the Sunday show with you, Jay, Michael Smith, George. You know, no, one of your Caliber would have gave me a shot. They'd have been scared. But not old Matthew Barry. Tmr. He put me on there. And you know that. That was all she wrote, man. So I appreciate it. I know these guys because of you. We talked before you even worked at NBC. So. So, Fred, to come to this, man, I really appreciate it, man.
Matthew Berry
Well, listen, it's incredibly meaningful. Thank you, guys. Thank you so much. And look, all of you earned your way here. You're all great. You're all great on air. You're all superstars to me. I've just, you know, I really enjoyed it. And so, like, you were great from moment one. You know, Lawrence, I love your energy, like. And Jay, I remember when I came here and they said, we have this guy that works for points bet at the time, but we want to use him. Can you try him out for a segment? I said, sure, we'll do a segment. And you and I did a segment and I was just like, you and I did a segment with somebody else. Like, there's a third person that was trying out. It was. It was supposed to be like a once a week segment. And I'm like, actually, can Jay and I just do one? The two of us? And seeing, like. And then we did a segment and I literally went to the boss and I said, he's awesome. Can I have him every day, please? And you know, and they were like, so you guys all earned your way here and it's been an honor and a pleasure. And it was scary for me leaving ESPN and, you know, coming to a new situation. And like, yeah, like I said, you guys made it easy and you went along. Everyone got the joke, I guess, is what I would say there as well. Stephen, I've completely lost track of time. Where are we? Okay, he's telling me that. He's telling me that I should pitch finding Nemo 3 for one more time. So just hear me out, okay? No, listen, it has been an honor and a privilege. I will see you again. Happy Hour will see you again. I know I will see you guys again, one way or the other. Her. But again, thank you so much to every single person. To the regulars, to the cast and crew of Fantasy People, Happy Hour, to everyone, NBC Sports. And at least for season four, you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. Peace out.
