C
Welcome to the Fantasy Football Happy Hour. Do ball drinks for free?
A
Yeah, they do. Congratulations to all of our sad Jaguar fans, including our very own producer, Steven d'. Agostino. That video you saw at the top of the show was him at some sad Jaguars bar where they all gather to be in New York City. In New York City. In New York City to be sad together. But last night, they were not sad. They were celebrating. They're there in Blake Bortles jerseys. Fred Jackson, Fred Taylor jerseys. Yeah.
C
The buffet.
A
Right. Kena McCardell. Yeah, exactly. All the. All the greats.
B
Yeah. People actually don't realize that the coronavirus pandemic didn't start in Wuhan. It actually started in the Jags bar in New York City. Yes, I believe that little known fact.
C
You're on your own with that one. I want nothing to do with that one.
A
Exactly. Valiant Vincent says the Traveler better be drinking for free. All of Duval. All of Duval. He's part of Duvall. The Traveler, by the way. Done wrong. By the way, just before that play, Trevler on the sideline cameras is like ESP at some point. Like, guy's picking his nose or whatever. Like, at some point, the director of esp. Let the man pick football game. It's not like he's sitting around. Like there's tissues around. He's in a football uniform. Yeah. Let the man, let the man live. Yeah, exactly.
C
Mr. T in the chat. The Fall and Duvall. Yeah, but the Rising.
B
What a moment.
A
They are this team. This team is so surprised. Like, this is the. Instead of the Saints, this is the team you should have bet on at long odds to make the playoffs. Jay.
B
No, no, no. The Jags are in a different tier to the Saints. The Jags are, like, confident coming in. But here's the thing. So a couple. Couple numbers. The Jags now plus 650 to get the one state. The Jacks are 10 to 1 to make the Super Bowl. These are ridiculous happenings. I don't think any of those things are going to happen. Yeah, they're four and one. Schedule's not that difficult. Easy division. I think the Colts are the better. Say my Colts will ultimately win that division.
A
You are a Colts fan now?
B
I'm a Colts man. I've chosen my fighter in the AFC south and I'm happy with the fighter. I think the Colts are the better team. But very impressive win from the Jags. Gutty from Trevor Lawrence as well. He's had a very uneven start to the season. But one thing he's had about Trevor Lawrence, for all his faults, like, he. I mean, he's tough and he gives it a go. He just makes a lot of mental mistakes. But yeah, you can't doubt the man's moxie.
A
He is tough. We will get to Monday Night Football later in the show. Conor Rogers. Someone needs to take care of this, please.
C
You got it.
A
Take. Take control of this show. The one thing I will say, though.
B
You don't like Wuhan.
A
Yeah. You know, it's so interesting because every day we're on for a lot. We're on national TV for a live. For an hour. For live. You know, we're on live television for an hour basically every single day. And every day we join the show. I'm usually like -400 to get us canceled in order to get myself canceled. To be trending on X. Like, oh, you know, can't believe it. Right?
C
You know, especially when you're live.
A
Oh.
C
I mean, one of the regulars could just clip whatever they want.
A
I do.
C
See you later.
A
100%. But, you know, Jay, Jay, whack on that tightrope. I like it. Fair enough.
B
Did you say the Jags videos? There's no doubt that something of global, international importance has developed in that bar.
C
Some wild scene.
B
Yeah, it was.
C
I wonder how often this producer, Mr. Steven, attends this bar.
A
He might be a regular.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah. At the Jags Bar.
A
It's. I mean, where else? It's. It's a gathering of sadness for many years. I mean, now they're four and one now. But I'm just. For many years it's been a gathering of sadness. And so I just. I mean, how many places are there where you can be like, I want to be sad, but I want to be sad with other people who are sad like me.
C
We didn't show the pregame picture. Totally different. So.
A
All right.
C
We got a lot to do. We do have a lot.
A
We will. We will absolutely get into that more and more.
C
So Terence Murphy comedy back in the chat. I feel like it's been a while. Jaguars fans were so happy in our 4 and 1 over. Under how many weeks till it goes.
B
Off the rails pick against the Seahawks next week and then they played the Rams. So it could be 4 and 3. Most likely it's 5 and 2. You probably split those two games. But they're a solid team. I think it's a solid, solid offense, solid defense. Don't think they're world beaters, but they're every week they'll have a chance.
C
All right.
A
Yeah, that division. Although by the way, though, Houston with an impressive win against Baltimore. I get it. Baltimore terrible this year, but still they put up 40 points on the road at Baltimore. Obviously, you know, talked about the Colts. This is suddenly kind of an other than Tennessee. Like, it's suddenly sort of an interesting division. You know, a division that you were sort of like snoozy, like Art House.
B
Interesting.
A
Yeah, there you go.
C
That's a correct way.
A
That's a great way to put it. It is. It's Art House. Interesting.
C
Valiant Vincent in the chat says, hey, you are what your record is, as Barry's fantasy team will attest.
A
Yeah, factually correct.
C
All right, let's go to waivers. We don't have to. People are wondering if I covered the spread. We'll get to it later. Waiver wire running backs. And before we talk about who you want to make a bid on, we have to talk about who's not available to you because of the bye weeks and early bye week. Here. Jordan Mason, who's averaging over 12 points per game. He's RB25. Nick Chubb, who's been up and down, maybe less impactful there. And then obviously his teammate, Woody Marks.
A
Yeah, look, I mean, not a huge bunch of running backs on by, but we're also going to be without Omarion Hampton, who last yesterday was placed on IR by Jim Harbaugh. Tough scene for my ride or die. He's going to miss four weeks with a high ankle sprain. So no Jordan Mason, Nick Chubb, Woody Marks, or Omarion Hampton this week, which of course brings us to the waiver wire. Running backs, you probably need potentially a running back to replace one of those guys here. Or even if you don't, like, even if you're. You don't have any of those guys, but it's always good to fortify.
B
I feel like when we have that little graphic, it's always like, oh, this is a brutal week. Like, how are we going to get like this? This place enough Feels fine.
A
You should be okay.
C
At least that running back, wide receiver is going to be a different story. But running back, you should be fine. But if you're not, listen, the man said it himself after their win over the Dolphins on Sunday, Rico Daddle said.
B
Buckle up, Uncle Raker.
C
Uncle Rico. It's revenge game time against Dallas. Rico Dowdle was phenomenal against Miami in week five. We got to hear from both Rico Dowdle and his head coach on the state of the Panthers running back room.
A
Honestly started off slow. I think my first two runs I had like five yards. It was just a matter of grinding it out and giving coach the confidence to keep calling the run. Like I said, we started off slow and we were able to turn it.
C
Into a game where we was able.
A
To run the ball.
C
And like I said, just giving coach.
A
Confidence to keep riding those guys up.
C
Front, opening the holes up for me.
A
And then once I got going, I knew it'd be a good game.
C
What Rico did yesterday have any impact.
A
On how you use a two backs moving forward? Yeah.
C
Chuba. We're going to evaluate him every day.
A
And kind of see where he's at. And then, you know, with he and Rico, what I take from it is we have two good backs, and so we'll have to figure that part out. That's a good problem to have, but it's something that we have to work through. Like a negative. It's something we have to work through. Like you just had. You have a good running back in Chuba Hubbard, well established. Enrico Daddle just run for 200 yards and he's just like, we're going to have to work through that. Like.
C
Like have all the Panthers problems, right?
A
Exactly. Like, that's what you got to work through. You should be like, the answer should have been like, we're thrilled. We feel like we've got two good running backs here and, you know, we're going to mix and match and, and play the hot hand. But, you know, we're, we're excited about how our backfield, you know, how our running back room is shaping up, but he's just like, we're going to have to work through that leg out.
C
Hired Dave Canalis.
A
Yeah.
B
I don't know how the Panthers have the same record as the Chiefs because they don't look very good so far. They banked these two wins, so credit to them for that. But here's the thing that I think does help. Rico Dowdle and even Chuba Hubbard once the Chubbler returns. Bryce Young's been horrific this year. This team cannot be dependent on Bryce Young throwing the ball. I think they're going to be a very low pass rate over expectations him going forward. The O line is solid. Like the O line's not a weakness. Yeah. So it better be solid. And the running backs are solid as well. So I think this is going to be a run the ball offense and then chuck it up the T, Mac, and then hope for the best.
A
Yeah. To be clear, Rico Dowdle was obviously a popular pickup all last week when they knew Chuba Hubbard was going to be out. And you liked the matchup against Miami. So he's only available in about 40% of leagues. 42% to be specific. So there's. It's likely he's gone in your league, but because he's close to our 50% threshold, we just wanted to mention that if he is somehow still available in your league, we do like him. Obviously there's a real chance that he's the starting running back against the Cowboys this week. Get your popcorn ready. The whole thing, revenge game. But even if Hubbard is back, Dowdle has clearly carved out a role in this offense. To your point, Jay, like, they can either hand it off or let Bryce Young throw it. And unfortunately, it's just the answer. Yeah, the answer. Seems right now that there may be enough run volume here to support 2Flex viable running backs. Assuming Dowdle continues to get work when Hubbard's back.
C
Another player. Another player in an elevated role. Michael Carter, 61% available, obviously because of all the injuries. Matthew, now this is a weird one because you look at 18 carries, he had five targets. He caught all five of them. The volume is really high. But the script for three quarters of this game was very in favor of Arizona.
A
Yeah, that's the thing. I mean, like, they were, they were just. I don't. I still don't know how Arizona lost this game. It's like, it's like it's unbelievable. I mean this. I've been talking about how fraudulent I think the Cardinals are overall as a team, but they absolutely should have won this game. Like the fact that Cam Ward threw an interception and scored a touchdown on the same play, like the time locked a touchdown.
B
The gods intervene.
A
Well, that's it. Yes. And that's, that's, that's, that's the God saying Amari D. Micardo when you like you should be happy just getting in the end zone. You. You. Anyway, that's Connor.
B
Whenever a player does that, the team loses. Jonathan Taylor against Denver last year. Eddie Mitchell, Rams. Yeah, the karma gods get involved.
A
They really do. Anyway, but the point, to your point, Connor, here is that positive game script that allowed them to run the ball and have Michael Carter. So in a game this week where they're at your Colts, Jay Croucher, where it might be a closer game or the Cardinals might be trailing, could they use Amari dmerciardo who is their third down back a little bit more now? We don't know. Is dmercado just completely in the doghouse the way AD Mitchell was last week? I mean like AD Mitchell, like it was all Ashton Doolin. Like they, they wanted no part of Mitchell. So we'll see what happens with DiMacardo. I certainly wouldn't start DiMacardo. But to your point, Connor maybe lower expectations on Carter a little bit in case game script isn't as favorable. But he had a 90 utilization score in week five that was the fourth highest among all running backs. There were 31 team running back touches for the Cardinals. 23 of them went to Michael Carter. He's clearly the Trey Benson replacement you want until. Until Benson comes back. So he's available in over 60% of leagues.
B
Yeah, it's just tough to the game script going from facing the worst team in football, arguably Tennessee, to arguably the best time in football May in the Annapolis Colts a six and a half point said that with a street.
C
He's so serious.
A
Like I listen.
B
Yeah look, they're not the best. I'm not sure statistically they actually have been the most dominant team in football to date. Now it's been the schedule point differential. They're offensive and defensive. Look at their epa. This team's a. It's a very good. I don't think they're the best team in football. I don't even think they're a top five team football. But I think they're kind of on the fringes.
A
Yeah, I will grant that they're the best team in their division. Even though the swag yards are Colts.
B
Have a legitimate chance to be a top two seed in the afc given how the Chiefs and Ravens have started.
A
It's crazy. Yeah. JSTAB saying Evil Jays Colts are dumping another 40 on Arizona this week.
B
It's a. The offense just works. It's a really good offensive line. It's a great play caller, great weapons. Daniel Jones is commandeering the ship and the defense is fine. It's not a great defense, but it's fine.
A
Connor is. How well this team is playing right now under Daniel Jones, who is kind of like a, you know, a free agent for anyone to kind of grab. Right. An indictment on just how bad Anthony Richardson has been in his pro career.
C
It's not a good look, right. Because you look at all the. A lot of the talents the same. Like, yeah, they added Tyler Warren, who's really freaking good, but Jonathan Taylor's there, healthy, but the wide receivers are all the same guys. The offense is the same or what they've wanted to do. The line has continuity. It's a pretty tough one right now for Anthony Richardson.
B
The problem with Anthony Richardson is he can't throw the ball where he wants to, which has always been an issue.
A
That is a challenge if you'd like to play quarterback in the NFL.
B
It just holds you back.
C
Sport becomes hard when that's an issue.
A
So it's a. That's why I'm not a quarterback, right? Yeah.
C
Doesn't work for me either.
A
Yeah.
C
All right, our next one here, Kendra Miller. This is a weird one, Jay, because nothing's wrong with Alvin Camara. Kendra Miller is just getting more work week after week.
B
Yeah. As you can see, the touches per game, it's trending in Kendra A. Miller's direction. He only had one fewer touch than Alvin Kamara last week. And look, I think Kamara is a decent chance. Notwithstanding the Saints getting on the board with a W. Spencer Atlas, first of his career in the NFL. But I think Kamara is a very good chance to get traded at some point and this becomes Kendra Miller's backfield. I would make it greater than a 50% chance that Kendra Miller is the lead back of the New Orleans Saints when you factor in the trade element for Kamara and also just the injury risk for Kamara, too, as an older player. So I think Kendra Miller, he is a guy and by the way, a functional NFL offense. I don't think right now that I don't think the Saints are one of the five worst teams in the league, I think you find five worst teams than them at the moment. The way they're playing outside of the Seattle blowout, they've been competitive in all these games. They were really competitive in Buffalo. They kind of blew the doors off the Giants towards the end of that game.
A
Spencer Rattler has been a lot more competent than I think people gave him credit for at the beginning of the season. Yeah, I agree with that. And I also just think, just to the eye test, Kendrick Miller just looks more explosive.
B
He's a better fit for this game.
A
Yeah, exactly. Again, you've got Kellen Moore there, brand new head coach who's got no loyalty to Alvin Kamari is trying to build something and so you're sitting there like, hey, I need some young players here. And so Rashid Shahid and Chris Olave, even though it feels like they've been around for that, they're both fairly young players. Obviously you've got Rattler and a young quarterback there as well. So they're trying to build something just. I do agree with you. I think there's a better than average chance that Camara gets dealt over the second part of the year. Kendrick Miller's had back to back games now with double digit touches. So I think he's, you know, he's in the deep league flex conversation but with some upside for more given the chance that Camara could get hurt and or traded as well. The only thing about Kendra is don't love the schedule. They're home to the Patriots this week. Good run defense shut down James, James Cook last week. They're at Chicago. That's a great matchup. Chicago can't stop the run but then home to Tampa Bay at the Rams. So three of the next four are pretty tough run defenses and as long as Kamara is healthy, he's still going to be splitting some time. But I do think Kendrick Miller needs to be rostered in a lot more leagues.
C
Aloha bricks. Asks Kendrick Miller or uncle Rico Dowdle for the rest of the season?
A
Kendra Miller.
B
Kendra.
A
So for the rest of the season, if the answer was for this week, I'd say Rico Dowdle, but for the rest of the season I just, you know, I can't believe I'm saying this, but give me the Saints over the Panthers offensively. And I also just think there's a clear path. I'd rather, I'd rather be behind Alvin Camara who was injury prone and could get traded than behind Chuba Hubbard who yes, is injury prone but like with his contract, they're not trading him.
B
Yeah. I also think there's a material chance that Kendrick Miller just supersedes Alvin Kamara. If Alvin Kamara sticks around, like, I just think he's a. What is Callum?
A
That's what it's trending towards.
B
Yeah. That's kind of what's been going on and what is like Kellen Moore want to do with this game. It's like a gap scheme. Think about Saquon Barkley last year. It's just like, hit the hole, use your explosive speed. That's much more Kendra Miller's game than Alvin Kamara's game, which I think was a better fit for the kind of zone running scheme of Kubiak last year.
A
So, yeah, they didn't have healthy wide receivers last year, so he was the passing game. But Olavi and Shahid are both healthy. They just got Taysom Hillback, who's going to do some gadgety stuff. Joanne Johnson, of course, fantasy football legend, part of the first championship squad. I now have to. You have to understand that given how my season has gone now I have to live in the past.
C
You're watching the vhs.
A
I'm like, you know, back in my day, back in my. That's. I have to be that guy now. I now have to embrace. I have to be the old guy that.
C
Are you gonna start tanking?
A
Should I? No, no. Maybe.
C
You rigged this. You rigged the first pick.
A
Anyway, what I could do, yeah, I'm not gonna get the first pick, but what I could do is just create havoc and chaos. I could just make a bunch of lopsided trades to like, try to upset the competitive balance in the league. Just make sure the two of you guys don't win, you know, like, here's.
C
Jaden Daniels, Rattler in the league right now. If you had to pick. I know who you don't want to win. You don't want me or him to win. It's for the right reasons. You'd be humiliated on the show.
B
I can't have severe Pete.
C
No way.
A
Absolutely not. That might be number one of do not 100%. I actually would trade players to you guys to make sure backup producer Pete did not win as well. That's a tough one.
B
Deb's been offensive.
A
You know what? Actually, that's what I'm feeling. I'm rooting for stupid Deb. I'm rooting for Emmy award winning stupid Dab who. Who's been a good sport and he's a good draft. He's good drafter. That's who I'M rooting for producer Damien as well. You know, fan of producer Damien. You know, producer Steven. I could. He's a Jaguars fan. He's had a lot of sadness in his life. So, you know, Adam, I feel bad for, but Adam's in the basement with me.
C
He's lost, like, seven players. So.
A
Yeah, I don't want Lawrence to win either. So, anyway, yeah, that would be my list of who I would try to.
B
Damien.
A
Yeah. Stupid Dev and Damien, I think, And Steven. Yeah.
C
All right. Our next running back is Kenneth Gainwell, 63% available. The Steelers are coming off the bye week. They have the Browns. And while Kenneth Gainwell looked really good against the Vikings. Matthew, you do have to wonder when Jalen Warren is going to be back, and if that just makes Kenneth Gainwell kind of, you know, not even a factor at all.
A
Well, he took individual drills at practice on Monday. This is Jaylen Warren again. It's been two weeks since he missed the injury in the. In the game overseas. But in that game against Minnesota, the last time we saw Kenneth gainwell, you know, 25 touches in a game that were j. And was very productive. Right. He had a 97 utilization score. And so I think, again, similar to what we just talked about with Rico Dowdle, assuming if Jalen Warren is back this week, do I have Jalen Warren ranked ahead of Kenneth Gainwell? Of course I do. But do I think Kenneth Gainwell just goes back to doing absolutely nothing? I don't. I think he is. I think that performance against the Vikings, a game in which the Steelers won, which I think is important, I think he's earned a bigger role. And because Warren has been banged up before in his career, we don't know if he's officially back. I do think he's worth rostering Gainwell because I think he'll carve out a role again. This is Arthur Smith, who likes to use multiple running backs. Remember the year they spent a top five overall pick on Bijan Robinson? I'm sorry, Top eight. A top eight overall pick on Bijan Robinson. Tyler Algier got, you know, didn't he get 1,000 yards? Didn't Tyler Algier get 1,000 yards the year that Bijan Robinson's rookie year? I'm pretty sure I did. Damian looked it up for me, see if I got that right or wrong. But, I mean, no, but I'm pretty sure that he did.
B
I don't think he. I think he did. The rookie, his rookie season, the following year.
A
Got it. Maybe not.
C
He's got a Lot of rookie year.
A
Oh, his rookie year he got 1,000 yards. But then they drafted Bijan Robinson. We couldn't understand why you had a, you know, had a rookie that run 4,000 yards. Why are you drafting Bijan Robinson and then not using him? Yeah.
B
By the way, I think, I think it's kind of been somewhat. I don't know. Bijan's amazing, but he's somewhat of indicated that his use of Tyler Algier, who's just really good like Tyler Algier, like I think he's like a top 15 running back in the league.
A
Yeah.
C
It's just he took away way too many times.
A
Yeah, yeah, sure. Yeah. The argument there is is that yeah, they found something in Tyler. I don't know that Tyler is a top 15 running back in the league, but they found something in him that he's a productive running back. The argument is, is that the Falcons never should have drafted Bijan Robinson. They had so many needs and they actually had a productive running back. To use a top. Right. Exactly. To use a top eight overall pick on a running back, you know, anyway, whatever. But I think. Yes. That my point is, is that Arthur Smith likes to use multiple running backs and that we have seen multiple running backs have fantasy usefulness under Arthur Smith.
B
Yeah. I think in a neutral, weak neutral opponent that both Gainwell and Warren are like high end flex guys. They feel that you feel confident starting them. I would probably still rather have Warren over Gainwell, but still both of these guys I think are going to be viable.
C
A much more difficult situation to figure out. Ride or die. Marion Hampton unfortunately placed on ir. The issue with this one, Matthew, is Hassan Haskins and Kymani Vidal going to factor in here? We. It's hard to tell really how they'll be differentiated. Like Haskins feels like the in between the tackles runner. Vidal feels like more of that third down pass catcher. But we just haven't seen enough of it yet.
A
Yeah, I mean it's. It's my guess is that the Chargers have been fairly pass heavy early in the season. Now they've been having trouble protecting Herbert so they, they've tried to be a little bit more balanced. But my expectation here is Vladimiri and Hampton, they just go back to being sort of pass happy and just he's out of the shotgun quite a bit and they try to figure out ways to, to chip guys and help out that offensive line. Yeah, I mean I think if I was. If I'm. I think I'd prefer Haskins to Vidal now again, if they're passing more that speaks more to Kamani Vidal and I really think it's going to be a hot hand committee approach here. But the one thing I will say is Hasan Haskins, to your point, he's the more, he's the closer. One to one replacement for Omarion Hampton. Remember, Haskins played at Michigan for Jim Harbaugh. So there's a little bit of trust and familiarity there as well. And so Badal, who last year had games where he was a healthy scratch. Connor, I mean like there were games where Vidal's healthy scratch. I wouldn't be surprised if they added this running back room. There are rumors that Gus Edwards, the Gus bus, could roll back into town. You know, can you imagine? But so he might. But so I wouldn't go crazy on the waiver wire trying to pick up either one of these guys. But I think they both need to be rostered and I would, I would prefer Haskins over Vidal even though I think it's going to be a bit of a, you know, truly 50, 50 split. But Haskins is going to have a better chance of scoring touchdowns on a weekly basis.
B
Yeah, I think the real winners here are Vlad McConkey, Kanan Allen. Correct. Quinton Johnson. I think they're just going to land Herbert.
A
Justin Herbert, yes.
C
A recap. The top running back targets for the week, Michael Carter, of course, he's got the Colts, Kendra Miller against the Patriots, Kenneth Gainwell, Hassan Haskins and Kymani Vidal.
A
They play at Miami this week. By the way, that is a nice matchup and we just saw Rico Dowdle run all over him. Remember Miami top five in terms of most fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. So Haskins and Vidal could be, especially in that order, could be, you know, viable. Desperation plays this week.
C
Got some deeper league targets in here as well. Kareem Hunt with a nice night on Monday Night Football. We'll have more on that in the next segment. Tyler Algier who just always appears on.
A
This show, he's had double digit rush attempts in three out of four games so far this year. Falcons off the bye.
C
Taj Speers back and healthy. Isaiah Davis now the number two behind Breece Hall. That's much like Kendra Miller, a stash situation because there's a world where the jets trade Breece hall. He's in a contract year and then Isiah Davis would be the lead back as Braylon Allen is hurt. And then Sean Tucker as Bucky Irving is hurt. He's behind Rashad White.
A
Yeah, it didn't do much but that was against Seattle. Wasn't a great matchup. He only played 12 snaps, but in the 12 snaps he got six touches. So, I mean, when he was out there, they were using him. He just wasn't out there that much. Rashad White had a great game. Also just want to mention Jaden Blue was finally healthy. I mean, was finally active for the Cowboys last week. Didn't do much, but just somebody that, you know, people liked in the preseason that showed a spark and, you know, at some point they've got to give Javante Williams a rest.
B
Crazy world where you're potentially picking up Javonta Williams insurance backs because that's where he's at the moment.
A
That's where we are. That's exactly where we are.
C
Let's go to the wide receivers now. We said the bye weeks for the running backs. You don't have much to worry about. It's probably a different story for you this week with both Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison catching the game winning touchdown last week after not playing in the first quarter. Coaches Nico Collins as well and then a tight end, both TJ Hawkinson and Dalton Schultz. So some bigger hurdles here, but there is some help available out there on waiver wires. After a monster week for Kendrick Bourne where all the Niners reserves were filling in to end up winning that game against the Rams, we got to hear from Kendrick Bourne, who's always a great listen on his role with the Niners going forward.
A
I didn't come here to beat a guy. I'm not coming here to try to get 50 catches a game. None of that. I'm here to play a role, help the younger guys, you know, be a vet. And so if Kyle wants me to play f or he wants me to go to running back, then that's what the week is going to, you know, present. So that's just my mindset. It's. It's about being humble, understanding that there's a role to be played and that's how my career has been and I've excelled in that and that's kind of how I got to where I am. And Kyle shout out to him because he gave me my first opportunity of showing me how to play in a role. I used to be big on third down and has grown and my relationship has grown with him. Now the trust is there. Kendrick Warren, we talked to him super bowl week, I think two years ago. Absolutely loved getting to know him. He is fun. I like that I'm not here to be the guy.
C
When have you ever heard that before In Your life from a wide receiver, never different.
A
Cat especially by the way, looking like a million bucks.
C
Looks like a wide receiver one to me.
A
He really does. He looks the part. But just like, I'm just here to play my role. I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I think I'm gonna say that in the next fnia production meeting.
C
I'm not here to be the guy.
A
I'm not here to be the guy.
C
Just let me make my partner my best friend. I'll be on my way.
A
Yeah, be a veteran, you know, help out the younger guys. That'll be me. Kendrick Bourne coming up. That 11 target 10 reception, 142 yard game against the Rams. Just a monster 23% target share, 82% route participation in week five. Again, Juwan Jennings and Ricky Pierce hall both have a chance to return this, this week for the game at Tampa Bay. But Bourne on an offense that's trying to find some answers here. San Francisco, you know, again, it's. They've sort of struggled. They've been a lot of guys in and out. We're still missing George Kittle. And so there seems to clearly be a connection between Mac Jones and Kendrick Bourne. Looks like Jones is on track to make another start for the 49ers. You know, Purdy feels more week to week. Ish.
C
Why rush him?
A
Yeah, I mean, honestly, yeah, save.
B
Mac Jones's leg stays attached to his body, which wasn't a great look on Thursday night. But I guess the thing is, is that this, this team, of all the good teams, the Niners, their situation on offense is the most influx of any team because all of these roles are going to change because Ricky Pearsall, Jawan Jennings, they both seem a decent chance to come back this week. George Kittle seems that's going to be a little bit further out. And so I think there are a lot of actions that can be done. One, I think that Kendrick Bourne, I think that if Pearsall and Jennings both play, his utility just drops off significantly. If only one of them comes back, I think he can still be viable, particularly if it's Mac Jones at quarterback. A little bit of a tangent, but I would try and trade Christian McCaffrey now if you have him on your team. So the receiving volume is about to fall off a cliff. Once they get all their guys back, he's not going to keep on getting 90 receiving yards a game. Like he's like top five in the NFL receiving yards. That's the.
A
But hang on though. I agree with you. But like, what are you trading him for. Because, by the way, like, so you say he gets 80%, 75% of his workload. That's still better than, like, almost everyone else in the NFL. Like, the only guys that I would rather have than Chris McCaffrey right now, I mean, maybe Bijon Robinson, Jameer Gibbs, Jonathan Taylor. So, I mean, like, if we were drafted today, he's probably, he probably goes like seven. I'm just off the top of my head. He probably goes like seventh. You drop Puka ahead of him as well. Right.
B
And what about guys like a Monroe jsn?
C
Absolutely.
A
Okay, that's. But, like, he's still a first. Yeah. I mean, so, yeah, but, like, I think that Monroe versus Chris McCaffrey, given the depth of running back versus wide receiver, like, that's a fair trade. Yeah. I'm not saying, like, I would definitely rather have one versus the other. That's a fair trade. I just, I don't know what the market is for Chris McCaffrey.
B
Yeah, I like that.
C
Like the chat Cobra Kiger said, listen to Jay. He was right about King Henry and now he's calling for cmc.
A
Yeah.
B
You know, and, you know, you might have a voodoo Saquon Barkley is next.
A
No, no, no, no.
C
They don't need that.
B
I might have been too early on. Yes.
A
Yeah. Look, I, No, I, I, I get the argument. I'm just saying. I'm just trying to think about it in practical terms. Like, do I think the production takes a, you know, a bit of a dive because of additional pass catchers? I do. I just don't know what I do with that information. Right. Sure.
B
I just think if you have like, a Niners fan in your league who is willing to trade you. Bijan, Jameer Gibbs, Jonathan Taylor. Oh, like those guys. I definitely. McAvoy is also the biggest health risk of any of these people.
A
Yeah. But the problem is I just don't. In a league in where people know what they're doing, I just don't know that somebody that has Jonathan Taylor or Jir Gibbs or Puka or anything like that are suddenly like, oh, yeah, let me give this up to go get McCaffrey.
B
Yeah.
A
Who has the same concerns you do.
B
To me, the inflection point of guys like a Monroe and jsn, and particularly with the Monroe because of the touchdown equity, I think I'd rather have him than McCaffrey going forward.
A
That's, that's completely fair. Somebody you have Christian McCaffrey and I offer you a Mecca Abuka. You doing that Deal. Okay. See, there you go. Don't get.
C
I would, I would take.
A
You're thinking about it. Really?
C
Yeah, I just don't. I don't believe in Christian McCaffrey being healthy across the entire season.
A
Wow.
C
I said that before. This isn't like a new development that.
B
Is fair like Christian McCaffrey. Once all these guys, once Kittle comes back, PSL join, his receiving probably is going to be like 45 and a half, which is great for a running back, but he's also averaging 3.1 yards per carry on the ground.
A
Sure, but. But the, the counter argument there is now with more pass catchers, with more pass catchers, like their offense will be more efficient. You can't just focus on McCaffrey, maybe do anything.
B
In week one against the Seahawks, he was like 22 for 69.
A
Seahawks are a really good defense. I don't know. I. You know, to me the problem is.
B
He'S not fast anymore. They can't run fast.
C
It's one of the better debates we've had in a while. But we do have a lot of wide receivers to get through, so we'll steer the ship.
A
Anyway, the argument is, is that Kendrick needs to be, you know, should be rostered. Yeah, well, that's where we started. But again, his role remains to be seen. But like, given the injury history of Jennings and Piersol, even if they're both back this week, I don't know that you feel confident that both guys play every game the rest of the year.
C
Romeo Dobbs, our next one, he just makes the cut here at exactly 50% available. He has the Bengals defense, which you can't really ask for much more right now. This is Romeo Dobbs numbers against Dallas in week four. Four over a 20. Dobby Target share. Toby.
B
Yeah, the new Doppler succeeding Joshua.
C
Yeah, the three touchdowns really takes the cake here, guys. I think. Right. Go ahead.
B
It's a little fake, right?
C
It's.
A
But. But it's kind of who he is.
C
The Jordan Love.
A
That's what it's saying he's got for the season. He's got 45% of the packers end zone target.
C
Right.
A
So like, like when they don't give it a Josh Jacobs in the end zone, it's basically Dobbs or Tucker Kraft. When Jordan Love is throwing in the red zone, he's basically looking for Dobbs or Tucker Kraft. So do I think, you know, do I think he's awesome? I don't. I still think Matthew golden is going to continue to impress. Right. We like Tucker Kraft, they want to be more run heavy. They have a good defense. They're not going to be in shootouts like the 40 to 40 game, you know, rest of the year. I think likely. All that said, he does seem to have a floor kind of role in this packers offense and it is Cincinnati this week.
B
Yeah, it's funny watching being in the stadium at, AT and T for that epic Cowboys, packers game and like on these key third downs, fourth downs, got to have it. It's like Jordan Love for this team. That's like a top four super bowl favorite. And the wide receivers are, you know, Romeo Dobbs and Tavian Wicks. It's like, it's not great. But to your point, the pass catching room is going to get healthier. Tucker Craft as well was dealing with an injury a couple of weeks ago. I think he is still ramping up back to full pace. So we have a question from the VST Rank. Dobbs, Craft, Golden, Craft one. Yeah, yeah, I think rest of the season, I mean it depends. I think Dobbs has a higher floor. I think golden has a high seal.
A
That's exactly what I was going to say. So I think it depends on what you need. If you're telling me I need somebody to start right now and Kraft is gone, then I give me Dobbs over Golden. If I'm like sitting there like I'm good with my starters, I'm just trying to bank for like a second half rookie blow up which we've seen multiple times over the last couple years among rookie wide receivers. Then give me Matthew Golden.
C
And don't worry, Christian Watson will be thrown into this equation at some point. It'll be a lot more fun. You got in on the packers wide receivers. I'm sorry. So let's take a look at some other notable wide receivers here. Darnell Mooney, who just always seems to be on the fringes of this line, 67% available. Trey Tucker, Josh Downs, who's coming off a good week. It was a slow start to the season for Josh Downs. They just have so many options. That's the Caught's offense. Troy Franklin went up and down. Isaiah Bond is out there a ton right now for the Browns. Torrey Horton getting some more love with the Seahawks. Caught a lot of touchdowns early in the year. Then Ryan Flournoy, the back end of the depth chart to 100 yard game against the Jets.
A
Yeah, I mean Dallas is going to be throwing right. And so after a performance like this, you have to figure like that earns more playing time. Jalen Tolbert is just so brutal. 91% rotation. No, like, listen, I got caught. If literally, if Jalen Tolbert had literally caught one pass, one pass for 10 yards, that's all he needed him to do. Caught one pass for 10 yards or Drake May threw one touchdown pass or, you know, or Omarion Hampton doesn't leave.
C
Early and you would have covered the spread again.
A
No, I would have not gotten cut from a guillotine league last night. So. Because that was the Xavier thing that I needed.
C
Anyway, we'll talk about exactly what happened.
A
We said what happened 100%.
C
Yes, nice little points.
A
Talk to me a little bit. So anyway, Flournoy is out there for again, we love how Dak Prescott is playing and they need guys beyond George Pickens. While CD Lamb heals. Talk to me a little bit about Isaiah Bond because he, while the production hasn't been there just yet for Cleveland, he's playing a ton of snapshots. 22% target share in week five, 86% route participation. Club set unfortunately closed at the moment. Cedric Tillman, Talk to me about Isaiah Bond, who had some off the field issues which dropped his draft stock. But just from a prospect perspective, right.
C
He was one of the best deep threats in the draft. There's no way around it. Right. It was just the rest of his game, including obviously off the field, that needed to be monitored. This was somebody that, you know, throughout parts of the season people thought he could be a second round pick. So to show kind of where. And obviously the Browns, the rate they're playing him at, what they think of his talent, the question I have is, or the concern is do we have any faith that Dylan Gabriel is the guy that's going to be chucking the ball down the field?
B
What did you make of his game? I know there were mixed reviews in the London game against the Vikings. I don't think it looked great. I thought it was fine, but it didn't look. I don't think there's a huge ceiling there.
C
Yeah, that's why I was a little. Not to react to one game, but to react to the player. This is why him going in the third round surprised some people. He is what you would want as a backup, right? He's smart, he can take care of the football. He can run the quick game. All the things he did to Oregon, he can move a little bit. He's a small quarterback and doesn't see the middle of the field very well and doesn't have this big arm and this great athleticism. So it just Very. It limits the offense. Like this offense is. They built the plane out of Quincean Judkins right now and that's not going to change.
A
Right. But for forgetting about Gabriel's fantasy value for a second. But just in terms of if you're Kevin Stefanski and like, I mean they've. Their quarterback room is a disaster. If you're just like, listen, I've got a top three defense in the NFL and I can run the ball. So if you give me a quarterback that can run my offense, not turn the ball over and just help me move the chains. Finding Joku, you know, for a 10 yard out, occasionally take a shot or whatever. But like, like he's probably a better fit for that for what they're trying to do this year than Joe Flacco.
C
And you got to get a look at him.
A
Exactly.
C
Like you might be bad enough that you're picking another quarterback in the top eight to 10 picks. If Gabriel stinks for a couple of weeks, then you look at Shador and we're going to get all these answers.
B
In the next couple months.
A
Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure we will. Last thing on deep league ads as well. We mentioned Torrey Horton who's very quietly scored in three the past four weeks. We like Sam Darnold quite a bit. Cooper Cuppet feels like the end is near for him. There's also some guys out there that if you have your an open IR spot, you know Brandon Ayuk, Jalen Coker, you mentioned Christian Watson, all guys that we think will be back at some point this year and be productive. Grab them, just stash them on your ir.
C
All right, let's look at the tight ends here, headlined by Mason Taylor, who is 86% available. Clap for Mason Taylor.
A
There's not a lot of good things.
C
In the jets land right now. This is the one rare one.
B
Why don't we clap?
A
I'll tell you why, because we've been talking about Mason Taylor for quite some time.
B
Clapping ourselves.
A
Yeah, we're clapping ourselves honestly. Like we've talked about this honestly since the preseason where we talked about after Garrett Wilson, who's the number two pass catcher on this jets. And we talked about Mason Taylor, the rookie out of lsu. Conor really liked him. I think you had him as tight end four out of after Warren Loveland and Arroyo. And so we're like, you know what? The jets might have gotten a steal and just in terms of fantasy production, he landed in the perfect spot because outside of Garrett Wilson, there's Just not a lot else in the passing game. We've seen it over the last couple of weeks where his target share continues to ramp up. 25% target share now in back to back weeks. And while some of it was junk time, it all counts in fantasy.
C
Right. And the jets might be playing a lot of junk time games.
A
That's right.
C
I mean, they're playing Denver overseas this week.
B
Zatan on Wilson. Yeah. Mason Taylor could lead the team in receiving yards.
C
I will say this because the last two weeks his usage has gone up across the board, especially on third and fourth downs off of play action. It's all looking good for Mason Taylor. Garrett Wilson, who's been great, but the jets don't throw the ball usually until they're down significantly. A lot of his production has been in garbage time or trailing mode. Mason Taylor, he gets involved off the opening script. So I think this is very real right now.
A
He has an 88 utilization score over the last two weeks, which is the highest among all tight ends. Not on the Jets. Like all tight ends in the NFL, Mason Taylor's got more utilization over the last two weeks than any other title. No touchdowns. No touchdowns. Right, exactly. So that's coming.
C
This is a nice baseline right now.
A
For Mason Taylor for sure. And by the way, you mentioned Denver. Okay, tough. But then home to Carolina at Cincinnati and then an exciting week for you, a bye week. Nothing bad can happen to the jets on the bye week, probably. Hopefully.
C
All right, this one from Travis McKnight asking it's the Jet. Oh, not asking, saying it's the Jets. There will always be garbage time. Thank you, Travis. That is.
B
Yeah. This is why I'm not sure. The Carolina Cincinnati matchups are great because they might be able to run the ball a lot, take away and throw something entirely. Yeah. In any case, Mason Taylor, I mean, he looks like a tight end one the rest of the way, which is.
C
Tough to find some other guys out there if you are pretty desperate here. Evan Ingram's only 52% available. He does have the jets, though, and the jets have been horrific against tight ends. So he actually might be a really nice desperation play at tight end this week. Theo Johnson getting involved. It feels like Jackson Darth Matthew is comfortable throwing to Theo Johnson. Real signs of light from him.
A
He's a nice big target. Right. And when you're scrambling behind that offensive line, looking around, you're just looking, oh, hey, there's a big guy that can come down with the ball. Two starts that Jackson Dart has made. Theo Johnson's had a 20% target share in both of them. Three end zone targets for the big man as well, Jake Tongass. Again, the San Francisco tight end. As long as Kittle is out, he's now scored in back to back games. We're not expecting to see kittle until week seven. And finally, how about A.J. barner? They like him in Seattle again. We like the Seattle offense, their passing offense, more than we did in the beginning of the season. Darnold has looked terrific. It's a nice fit with Clint Kubiak here. And so Barner, very, very quietly. Four touchdowns in his last four games, 20% target share last week, and a shootout still. But I just. I could easily see a scenario where over the second half of the year, this offense is obviously, you've got JSN Torrey Horton and AJ Barner as like kind of the top three guys.
B
Good night. Cooper Cup.
A
No, I just.
B
Honestly, like, it just sounds very macabre.
A
No, I think he has a very long, productive life. Look, you guys know I love Cooper Cup. I love Cooper Cup. He's my little Cooper Cup. But I just.
C
He was.
A
I mean. Well, no, he's still my little Cooper cup, but just on my bench, you know, on the waiver wire, I'm just waving to him like I just. It's. The production hasn't been there consistently for a while.
B
No, he's not. Four catches for 40 yards guy now.
A
And on a good day. Right? Four catches for 40 yards in a game that was 38, 35 or whatever that game was. Right. I mean, like, it was a complete shootout. Darnold was brilliant. They're going toe to toe with Baker Mayfield and he didn't put any numbers there. And again, he's had basically one good game in four for the Seahawks and he was bad for the last four or five down the stretch for the Rams last year. I just.
B
Hey, he's on the other side.
A
Yeah.
C
Let's talk quarterbacks here. The starting quarterbacks on a bye, hopefully are not playing one of these guys right now, though. It's been a good two weeks for C.J. stroud.
A
Sure.
C
So those numbers are a little skewed.
A
By the slow start and the Wentzler.
C
And the Wentzler just doing the Wentzler things. I really.
B
It's a terrifying headshot.
C
He looks surprised, actually.
A
There's a lot going on. I think it's.
B
I think he's done as well. J.J. mcCarthy's on.
A
No, it's. Wentz is just that. That. That smile is like, I'm happy I have a job. I'm smiling. I've got a gig.
C
Well, I'll tell you who else is pretty happy because he's got the starting job. That is Jackson Dart, who is 61% available. It's been solid for Jackson Dart so far. And he spoke on just the rookie learning curve in the NFL.
A
Yeah, I mean, I've never cared about my age, you know, coming into the NFL.
C
I mean, right now I'm the youngest quarterback in the league.
A
But, you know, I could give, you.
B
Know, two craps about that.
C
You know, it's about winning. So I don't take any excuse for.
A
Age or, you know, being a rookie. Like there's a responsibility when you're a.
C
Quarterback to go win games. And that's just the standard that I hold myself to. Jackson darts, first two starts here. A lot more passing attempts. Matthew in the second one against the Saints.
A
Yeah, like that. He's more comfortable in the offense, but he's also using his legs. That's why he's fantasy viable. We said this when he got the job. He would be a top 12 fantasy quarterback thrust away. He's averaging over 17 fantasy points per game in his two starts. He's had at least 50 rushing yards in both those games, including 31% of the Giants red zone rushes when they get in close. Brian Daboll not scared to dial up a quarterback sneak. A designed run for Jackson Dart. I like the fact that he's sitting there saying, like, hey, no excuses. I'm going to take accountability. You know, we got to win. That's how I am as a fantasy football manager. Jackson Dart and I both, you know, facing the tough questions from the press, but taking accountability. That's what we're known for, the two of us, 100%.
C
How about Mac Jones, Jay? 95% available. So if you need a streaming quarterback, this one is absolutely on the table. He's got the Bucs, who have found themselves in some shootouts with all the injuries they've had, and Mac Jones is putting up numbers.
B
Yeah, I think the case is that Carl Shanahan clearly trusts him to run the offense in a similar way to Brock Purdy in that he's just getting huge passing volume. He's been 279 pass yards or more in all three of his starts, in which the Niners are 3 0. He has the rapport with Kendrick Bourne. He has all the dump offs that he can get to Christian McCaffrey. They're going to get healthier. Piersol Jennings a chance to play as we mentioned and the Bucks are past funnel defense where you cannot run the ball on Vita Veer and friends but you can throw the ball as Sam Donald showed on the weekend.
C
Some other targets here, deeper league targets. Tuatanga Vailoa. He's got the Chargers Sam Darnold but a monster week. He's got the Jaguars.
A
Yeah, suddenly tougher than you think. Jaguars defense but still Darnold has been terrific. Two has been better four straight games now with multiple touchdown passes. He has seemed hasn't seemed to miss a beat with Tyreek Hill out. And how about Dylan Gabriel steer Steelers allow the third most yards per pass attempt. You know the last time we saw him, you know they it's not the Steelers defense of old. I'm going to say like again, you'd have to be pretty far down the list if you're truly desperate for Dylan Gabriel but again he is going to start at Pittsburgh this Sunday.
C
If you need a defense, how about the packers against the Bengals? It's been tough for Jake Browning, the Colts against the Cardinals and the Cardinals might just handing the ball the Patriots against the Saints. Patriots defense looked very good against Josh Allen in Buffalo. We're going to take our first break. When we're back, more on the Monday night victory in Duvall. Our takeaways from the Jaguars beating the Chiefs right after this.

Listen to my voice talking to you about the new Old Spice NFL Collection at Walmart.
A
Now listen to my smell. I smell like NFL stars Jared Goff, Ceedee lamb, Saquon Barkley, C.J. stroud and George Kittle. I smell like greatness.
B
Why?
A
Because I'm wearing Old Spice's new NFL collection. How can you put the greatness of the NFL into a smell, you ask? You can't, but Old Spice can and they did. Smell like Suntollen speed, driftwood and drive sea ties and toughness with the Old Spice NFL Collection available at Walmart. Smell like the greatest smell in the NFL with Old Spice, guys. Talk about resilience. Down 14, nothing come back one play at a time. How about Devin Floyd?
C
That was the Jaguar locker room after the big win at home against the Chiefs. Here's the notable fantasy leaderboard right here. Patrick Mahomes and Trevor Lawrence. No surprise at the top there. Matthew, though Kareem Hunt being number four is probably what stands out the most.
A
I mean, like, it was just disgusting. He played 33% of the snaps. Seriously. He got eight touches, but four of them were, you know, goal line rushes. I mean, just, you know, Pacheco. I thought Pacheco looked better than he has all year. A little bit more expensive. Explosiveness, kind of signs from life. And Pacheco has the double did touches. But when they get in close, they give it to Kareem Hunt as well. Rashard Smith, we keep waiting for it. Doesn't look like it's happening anytime soon. Just plays 8% of the snaps. Four touches on three. It gets three targets like they're just not using them that way. It is a full blown committee. Hunt's the only guy I think he can trust is because he does at least have some touchdown equity. But it's gross. It is like. It is. It is like their running game is. They're leading. Russia was Patrick Mahomes.
B
Yeah.
A
I mean it always is.
B
He's the new Lamar Jackson.
A
That's. The Chiefs should have won that game. But good for the Jaguars for doing it. Like the. The Chiefs all last year were sort of like getting away with it and now they're not.
B
Yeah. Here's the thing though. I'm interested what you think you're gonna. To me, the Chiefs, the past couple, they've looked the best they have on offense since like two years ago or when they were like in the playoffs on the Raider beating the Niners to win the Super Bowl. To me, the offense looks kind of back and I think that they are the real. I'm not sure if they're ever sleeping. Sleeping Giant because they're the Chiefs, but I think that they're going to turn into a juggernaut once Rashee Rice comes back.
C
I think they're going to be okay. I think they're going to make a couple moves to the deadline too. It feels like they could use one more run stopper up front at the tackle and a real running back, whether that's Bruce Hall, Alvin Kamara. What if the Panthers feel like they could trade Rico Dowdle at some point?
B
The other thing too, that really makes you Bullish about the Chiefs from a fantasy perspective going forward is past defense looks pretty shaky and looks very shaky against the Jags. So I think that it's going to be Mahomes with a good offense in shootout mode which we haven't seen for a while.
A
And that's, that's part of it, right, is that the defense is not what the last two years it's been an elite defense. It just isn't this year as well. So on the, on sticking with the Chiefs for one more second here. Xavier Worthy was a weird game. 22 and a half percent target share, 80% route participation. But just, just didn't seem like himself. Like, I mean again he came into the game questionable. He played, he went down with it looked bad. We're like, oh boy. And then he's out there the next. Like what was that about? He literally is out there the next.
C
Playing through something.
A
Yeah, something. Well, I was all bitter because like as, as I told you because you know, whatever Drake may and just I needed basically Xavier Worthy to have either under nine fantasy points or somehow outscore Mahomes.
C
Right.
A
And he did not. He scored 11. You know what I mean? Like so I lost by two points. And then of course you just killed me in a different league. So last night, tough scene at the, at the, at the Berry House. I want to. You know what's weird about fantasy football is like the leagues that I don't care about, like those are the ones I'll. But right. Like the couple leagues where I was just like, I'd like to win this one this week. What are you going to do on the Jacksonville side?
C
Any signs of life here from Trevor Lawrence and Brian Thomas? Because that's been a big concern point leading up to this game.
B
I thought it was more a gutty performance than one that makes you feel really good about projecting it going forward. I just don't understand why Travis Hunter doesn't get more run out there. He looked amazing, but he had three targets.
A
He's not the best receiver but the yards after the catch on those catch, like he looked awesome. He was just making a move. He has the catch. Yes.
C
He really did everything when he got chances.
A
He really did. Brian Thomas looked not great, but feels better on the fourth down drive. The fourth quarter drive, you know, the ultimate game winning drive. Unbelievable throw from. From Trevor Lawrence and a great catch by Brian Thomas down the sideline. Also remember, you know he drew a pass interference call in the end zone that got them to the one yard line. So was it great? No, I mean it was 12 fantasy points, but still 4 for 80. Like, I feel better about Brian Thomas than I did before. I still don't feel great about him, but I feel better than I did, you know, 24 hours ago.
B
I think it's a very apt summation, Matthew, of how you describe the 2025 Jag season. Indirectly, not great, feels better is basically where we're at with the Jays and that offense. And look, Brian Thompson, you can only trend up, maybe build some confidence off of a solid showing on national tv.
A
Last thing here is it was just nice to see Trevor Lawrence use his legs. 54 rushing yards again. That was one of the arguments for him in the preseason as a sleeper was that Liam Cohen would start to unlock that. So maybe we see it. I'm not ready to buy in just yet. They're home to Seattle next week, but still just something to watch out for. That would be. That would be good. Really impressive performance from Trevor Lawrence. Nice to see Mahomes go, you know, just Mahomesian again. And lastly, like, I kind of like Tyquan Thornton. Even when Rasheed Rice comes back, he just taekwond Thornton continues to find ways to make plays. Like, I'm not getting rid of him just yet. Even with the expected return of Rashee.
C

A
DraftKings sportsbook oh, the crown is yours.
B
The crown is yours.
C
The crown is yours. It's time for last call. Jay, what do you like on the early line board as we show these are the games with the highest projected point total?
B
Yeah, I'm going to go side of the line football. I'm going to take lions, chiefs over 50 and a half think a little underrated story right now in the NFL is that the Detroit Lions don't have any cornerbacks. Again, Terry and Arnold out. DJ Reed has done his hamstring. Jake Browning in comeback mode was lighting them up in the second half. So I think that also the Chiefs defense didn't look great against the Jacks. So I think that's going to be a shooter.
C
I think another game that could have a lot of scoring. Cowboys at Panthers. I just don't know if the Panthers can keep up with the pace the Cowboys are playing at right now. I like Uncle Rico in her revenge spot, but Dak is playing a phenomenal brand of football right now. The Cowboys have all the receivers working. Cowboys, I think they cover that three and a half. I don't love the hook, but I think they'll still win by more than three and a half.
A
I like that call. I'm going to go back to Detroit. Kansas City game. We said yesterday on the show that the Lions were the best team in the NFL. We all agree on that. How are they underdogs on the road at Kansas City? A team that just lost to the Jaguars. Chiefs are one and a half point favorites here at home. They're traveling on a short week. They were in Jacksonville last night. I know they're traveling home, but they're still. They're traveling back to Kansas City on a short week. The Lions this -1.5 basically says the Chiefs and the Lions are equal in terms. I don't think they are. I get it. He's Mahomes. But the Lions have won in Kansas City before. You know, two years ago. Give me the Lions getting one and a half. I'm getting points with the Lions. I'm in.
C
I don't think it'll last long. I think it'll go the other way.
A
I completely agree, but we're doing early lines, so get in now on that. It's closing time. You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. For Jay and Connor, I'm Matthew. Good luck on your waivers tonight. We'll see you back here tomorrow. Peace.
Episode: Week 6 Waiver Wire: Rico Dowdle, Kendre Miller, Kendrick Bourne, Mason Taylor among Top Adds
Date: October 7, 2025

Matthew Berry and his co-hosts deliver their trademark blend of in-depth analysis and light-hearted banter, spotlighting top running back and wide receiver adds for the week—most notably Rico Dowdle, Kendre Miller, Kendrick Bourne, and tight end Mason Taylor. The team also dives into emerging quarterback options and matchups, Daily Fantasy perspectives, trade outlooks for stars like Christian McCaffrey, and breaking down the fallout from Monday Night Football’s Jaguars-Chiefs result.
"This team...instead of the Saints, this is the team you should have bet on at long odds to make the playoffs." —Matthew Berry (03:04)
Rico Dowdle (Carolina Panthers)
"Dowdle has clearly carved out a role in this offense...there may be enough run volume here to support two flex-viable running backs." —Matthew Berry (09:28)
Michael Carter (Arizona Cardinals)
“He’s clearly the Trey Benson replacement you want until Benson comes back.” —Matthew Berry (11:09)
Kendre Miller (New Orleans Saints)
“I would make it greater than a 50% chance that Kendre Miller is the lead back...this becomes his backfield.” —Jay Croucher (13:54)
Kenneth Gainwell (Pittsburgh Steelers)
“Arthur Smith likes to use multiple running backs and we have seen multiple running backs have fantasy usefulness under Arthur Smith.” —Matthew Berry (21:06)
Hassan Haskins & Kymani Vidal (LA Chargers)
“I think they both need to be rostered... I would prefer Haskins over Vidal even though it’s going to be a 50/50 split.” —Matthew Berry (22:00)
Massive Week 5: 10 rec, 142 yds, 11 targets — 23% target share, 82% route participation.
Remains involved while SF deals with injuries; risk his usage drops as Juwan Jennings/Ricky Pearsall return.
Notable Quote:
“I’m just here to play my role, help the younger guys… that’s how my career has been and I’ve excelled in that.” —Kendrick Bourne (25:19)
Summary Comment:
“His role remains to be seen, but like, given the injury history… even if they’re both back this week, I don’t know that you feel confident that both guys play every game.” —Matthew Berry (30:48)
“Clap for Mason Taylor! …we’ve been talking about Mason Taylor for quite some time.” —Matthew Berry (37:15)
Jackson Dart (NYG)
“Averaging over 17 fantasy points per game in two starts. He’d be a top-12 fantasy QB the rest of the way.” —Matthew Berry (42:54)
Mac Jones (SF)
Other Options: Tua Tagovailoa (MIA), Sam Darnold (SEA), Dylan Gabriel (CLE).
“I would try and trade Christian McCaffrey now...” —Jay Croucher (27:12)
“What are you trading him for? Even with a reduced workload, he’s still elite.” —Matthew Berry (28:02)

Jaguars:
Chiefs Offense Outlook:
On Jags fans watching together in NYC:
“How many places are there where you can be like, I want to be sad, but I want to be sad with other people who are sad like me?” —Matthew Berry (04:53)
On fantasy football manager drama:
“I could create havoc and chaos... just make a bunch of lopsided trades to upset the competitive balance in the league.” —Matthew Berry (17:24)
On rookie QBs learning:
“You know, it’s about winning. So I don’t take any excuse for age or being a rookie. Like there’s a responsibility when you’re a quarterback to go win games.” —Jackson Dart (42:34)
This episode is packed with actionable advice, bold but grounded opinions (from selling McCaffrey to buying into Mason Taylor), and practical, prioritized pickup lists for Week 6. The hosts’ playful banter makes for a lively listen, but their waiver analyses and deeply contextual player takes remain the standouts for anyone looking to survive the bye-week crunch or get an edge on the competition.
