Hello everyone. Welcome back to another stream on Fantasy Football Scout. Don't click off yet. You're in the right place. And no, I'm not Andy. Today I'll be taking Scoutcast as Andy is away on holiday and I promise you and we're gonna provide as good as Andy can do. I can't promise better, but I'm I'm followed by the same company Andy would normally be bro, and that's Hibo and Nacho. Now I've just noticed I've got the names mixed up on the graphics by accident because it's changed on Zoom, but welcome lads. Nacho, how are we keeping?
Callum
Yeah, I'm doing very well, mate. I mean, Andy's gonna be out of a job at the end of this so I'm looking forward for this new three to continue week in, week out. But no, it's awesome to chat to you, mate. And I feel like every week so much changes in fpl, in particular our drafts. So I feel like we've got a lot to talk about. I'm looking forward to it. But, yeah, like, everyone's saying the names are wrong. People are saying in the chat, I'm not Hippo. Hippo is, oh, no, I've disappeared now, it seems I'm back. Are you changing them? So, yeah, no, I look forward to this one, mate. I'm actually looking forward to it. I know we've got a lot to talk about.
Host (Nigel)
Hey, Bo, how are we?
Hibo
It's good. I think it's been an interesting week in the FPL landscape because you're kind of seeing people starting to tinker with their teams and you're seeing people maybe come off like packs that they've been fairly solid on. Like, you know, like, I'm looking at socials and people are suddenly maybe losing interest in Sabisley, gaining interest in Wirtz, Brian and Bumu starting to come into some drafts. People are getting a wee bit of cold feet in Kvarial and people like that. So I think it's going to be interesting. I think we're going to go kind of position by position through the board here and look at goalkeepers, defenders, muds and forward as we go through the show. And I think it's going to be an interesting one to pick through those and give our opinions on, I suppose, who your lock picks are and maybe who's like a wee bit of a sneaky differential that we can put on this side as well.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah, absolutely. And I think week to week now, we're seeing so much change and so much content is being built around that and everyone's opinions are changing. I mean, even some of the ownership percentages of some of the most popular players, they're going up and down for all the big boys. So I think now with the community Shield, it's going to change a lot, in my opinion, because I think probably a lot of us, particularly Arsenal, will either be one reminded how good Arsenal are as a defense. We could see Gabriel come up with a goal and change everyone's opinion. If we see a bench in with Haaland, or even if we see Nico O'Reilly be very threatening, I think at 6.5 million, he could break up a lot of teams. I mean, let's start with that then, and we'll go. Let me Quickly explain what we're going to be touching off today. Hibo has provided us with some phenomenal graphics for each position. Goalkeepers up to the forwards, and we're going to take a look, position by position, some of the best and most expected points that fantasy football scout has brought us. So that's what we're going to cover today. Hibo, let's start with the Community Shield game that's to come. How big of an influence do you think that will have on not only our opinions, but your team?
Hibo
I think opinion wise is going to have a huge impact. It's going to be a huge factor, like, you know, because we're looking. What are we. We're nine days out maybe from the season starting here. I know at this point in time Haaland doesn't involve training. Do you know? So, like, there's many kind of different kind of trains of thought out there in terms of how people want to start the season, and lots of that is shaped by how they want to play their chips. And like, if you were going in for a BB one, your team could be really good without Haaland. So, like, my personal opinion is, look, I think Haaland starts the Community Shield and I think he starts the season, but I think people are maybe going to potentially get cold feet if he plays limited minutes that you are the Community Shield, they're maybe going to think, well, is that going to carry through to take game week one, potentially game week two? Everybody's in a position where they're going to need to help him by game week three at the latest. But like you're seeing people now, they're talking about, could I have BB1, could I have free hit in three, could I have wildcard soon after? And really front loading the season with chaps. And look, I think you make a great point about Arsenal too. Like, you know, like Gabriel, if we think about his production, if we compared him to like an 8 million midfielder, his production is obviously still very good, you know, because he does the cleans, he does the goals, he's got D.C. but that price tag is kind of putting people off at the moment. But like, there's other options out there in the Arsenal defense. Real looks like a wee bit of good option stall at 6 million Mosquera, Chia Fiore and White coming under like 5.5. So I think people are going to be watching that game thinking, right, okay, let's see that Arsenal defense. Let's see how. But look, there's been lots of flux and lots of change to you like, we're looking at Maresca coming under management's hot seat at Man City as well. How's that potentially going to change things for defense? Like we talked about it before we came on the pod, you know, like Gavardio is somebody that everybody's been massively keen on, but he has competition at left back. You know, he can play left back. Nicole really can play left back. Is he going to predominantly be a center back? And I think people would. They're going to do and it's probably not a wise thing to do in fantasy. They're going to look at that one game week sample from the Community Shield and think, right, this is how I'm going to nail down my team. But look, I think there's loads to take from it. For me, it probably won't change much. I'll be starting my hand, I think, but it won't change much apart from potentially Arsenal defense.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah, and I would agree with that. Like, I think a Haaland Benchen, everyone's going to create their own narrative. You know, if he gets limited minutes like you said, people are going to be saying, oh, he's after getting a rest for game week one and he's going to be in every team and then you're going to have the other side saying, he's clearly not fully fit to start the season. Where I stand with it, though, is I think either way he's going to start game week one. I'd be very surprised with Enzo Maresca, his first home game versus Borma in the League, that he doesn't have the star man up there. Nacho, tell me now, we are probably one solid score away. Arson's left winger from all of us owning from 6.5. How much influence does that game have on for you?
Callum
Oh, I honestly think we always think as FPL managers, we aren't reactionary. But I was speaking for myself here. I 100% am. If if this new guy does anything in that game, I do think some managers will look at it in particular for those that are on a bench boost in game week one and say to themselves, look, what an amazing opportunity to go for someone at 6.5 million in that Arsenal front three. Because the problem of Arsenal and it was the same last season, it's probably the first time ever we've had Premier League champions and not really owned any of their attackers. I mean, Declan Rice was the only way of getting into that Arsenal attack at all. So we're kind of craving something in that Arsenal team in particular with that game week one fixture where, you know, we're all looking at getting one Arsenal defender, if not two. And I think the big reveal in this Community Shield is going to be the 5.5 million Arsenal defenders versus Gabrielle and which one really is going to be the standout? But like you said, I'm going to be honest with you, I'm going to butcher all of the names on here, so I'm not going to attempt it
Hibo
in terms of it.
Callum
But I do think there is a chance that if he does start left wing, 6.5 million. I personally will not go there because I try and look past Beyond Game Week 1, but I think for some people there is an opportunity there to go a bit different. But my eyes are going to be firmly on the pool of 5.5 million defenders in white California and, and Mosquera versus Gabrielle. And understanding is there 2.5 million that we can save that's going to offer just as good value at Gabrielle for game week one.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah, and I think it's gonna be really interesting. We also have 1920 days until the transfer window closes as well, so we're expecting to see a lot of incomings and outgoing. So, you know, even looking at the Community Shield game, even past that, we're gonna see a lot of change. So I think it's definitely something to consider. One thing I noticed, and a bit more general, people are probably struggling to understand me and Hibo. I've seen some comments about Hibo and his Irish accent and now we've timed it by two. So I do apologize if you are struggling and do let me know if the audio is okay. So let's move on from this section, lads. I actually wanted to touch on something, particularly the Scoutcast. I was watching the Scoutcast last week and you have set up your own league and I'm actually going to enter a team with two of my members. So I'm gonna be chasing all three your teams and really looking forward to get involved and do make sure to get involved with the scout castle. I think it's gonna be really interesting and something new that I haven't got myself involved with before. So let's move on to the next section, which is going to be looking at some of the best goalkeepers. Now, a boring place to start the goalkeepers, but it has to be done. Let me quickly read out maybe the top five projected scores for the goalkeepers in the first six game weeks. Number one, no surprise, we have for the best defense, David Raya. Second is Le Mans. Third is Alison Becker. Four we've Pickford, and fifth we have Sanchez. And then the list goes all the way down to 20th, which is currently Martinez. Let's start with you, Hibbo, let me know. And I think it's a popular one. The one I think is most popular is Kinski for Spurs, and second, I would say is Le Mans, who's currently at the top of your list going into the first six games. And do you think it's right when you look at a list like this that so many of us are looking at a Kinski who features eight on this list?
Hibo
I think goalkeepers always kind of. It's about a problem position because I actually think the ceiling's quite low with goalkeepers generally. Like, you know what, what do you get from a goalkeeper? Around 150, 160, 170 points max. And they're always kind of quite condensed. Now Kingski's one that since the game launched, I found them kind of quite difficult to get behind. Like, I know Deserbi came in at spurs and it's maybe not really fair to judge Spurs's season as a whole last season because he came on so late, but they didn't really do very well for clean sheets. Kingski came out at one point, I think he had a complete disaster and he got subbed off, you know. You know, and on the back of my head, you know, they're making that transition from Save Akira to Kingski and everybody's massively behind this and they think they're going to see like a big uptick. I bet we about tentative on him, do you know, Because I want to see clean sheet potential from Spurs, I think first, like, if you were asking me to compare the two of them, like for like, I think I prefer Lamons at this point in time, mainly because most of us are in the position where we're going to front load our season, like, so people are thinking about playing chips early, playing an early wild card. And in that position, like having that hole and upswitch fixture, I think there's one bad fixture in the first five or six for Man United and it's Man City. If you have up on a bench cover to cover Lamins in that week, I think it's okay. Super boring. But I still think Raya's like a standout option. He was one that we kind of talked to death on the pod last season because, like, loads of people, we had the conversation. And you probably did in your shows too. What's the best Arsenal trio to pick from? And Rhea was Always kind of mermaid and he was always kind of divisive. But as the season rolled on, as we got to the very end and like looking at his data from say like 19 to 38, I think he kept on like 10 clean sheets. Like, do you know when that. That's just that kind of league category. And I think if we're looking at team strength and you're looking at how teams are written in terms of attack and defense, Arsenal are just kind of so far clear. And when the differential and budget is only kind of like 1 millions from lemons, you know, part of me's kind of been drawn on on the goalkeeper conversation. They go, well, can I just pick the player who I maybe think is the best? If I'm thinking about Wild Cardena Game week five, Game week six, why not just put Ray on there and you can maybe double up on Arsenal defense? Because look, it was a strategy that was good. Like, you know, and N was touched about it earlier in the B. It's kind of hard to pick Arsenal attackers. Sauce is like, it could be anything, it could be great. But I couldn't get behind him at this point in time. Then you're looking at Saga. At what point is he going to come up to speed? Then you're looking at Rice. Whereas if you can kind of predict a double Arsenal defense or maybe even a triple Arsenal defense, I think it's such a good way to go and look R like if you're looking at those clean sheet numbers, like he doesn't do great for saves, but there were times where he was able to kind of produce that big score as well. Like, you know, so he's kind of where I'm sitting. But in laments Kingski, I would be kind of leaning towards Lammens, I think.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah, for sure. And I think it probably is the 1 position on the pitch you don't pick based on the keeper's ability. I mean, you're looking at the team's clean sheet more often than not. Other than the odd ones who do make a lot of saves. For example, a pickford who is a controversial one in terms of ability in my opinion, but always been a good FPL option nonetheless for Everton. Nacho, I'll go to you then. When you look at this and a lot of people are setting up, you know, a bench boost one, a bench boost two, and you're trying to make a combination and include pricing because pricing is a bit more sensitive, especially when you're bench boosting because of course you have to share that money across two. Ideally you don't want a 6 million keeper and a 5 million keeper because then it, you know, takes away from your squad of 15. Do any of these two and there are a popular pair and I'm seeing quite often stand out to you when you look at a graphic like this.
Callum
Yeah, I totally agree with what you said. Firstly, in terms of the, the budget allocated to goalkeepers, I think if anybody's going for like a Raya and anything else alongside that, that is more than 4.5 million. I think it's just a waste of money really. If you are going for this top tier goalkeeper, it has to be a 4.5 million alongside it for your bench boost or you're stashing away with the cheapest goalkeeper that you can own. I do like the two 4.5 million goalkeepers and like you said, the popular combination right now seems to be that Kinsky for Brugen combo where people can go for the bench booster early doors, you can have a fixture in gameweek two and then they rotate okay after that. I do think if you want to bench boost in game week two, the only reason you're bench boosting a game week two is simply to target Coventry up against Hull. That is the only reason people are bench boosting and it allows you to save like a million in your defense by going for those cheap 4 million Coventry defenders. So of course Rushworth here at Coventry 4.5 million. I think that is a decent goalkeeper if you're on bench boost too. If anything, it's an essential goalkeeper if you're on that strategy. But I personally think the 4.5 million goalkeeper combination is actually the route I would go for. I do like lemons at Man United as we said, but I think also a lot of people are now leaning towards going for this Man United double attack. And I kind of spoke about this previously and we'll touch on these attacking players in a bit. But when you have back to back promoted teams, I just think it is so hard not to go for a double up in those attackers. So it does very much come down to a 5 million lemons and goal like we said, or a Maguire or 0.5 million less with a Luke Shaw. And again, people are all going to have their own opinions on that decision there, but the one really that stands out for me here and maybe I am being a bit too bullish, but it is Kinski at Spurs. If they don't look for anybody in the market right now, I just think deserving with a full Pre season and the way that they have invested in the two at the back. Van de Ven probably does start for Senesi to start with and then the combination in midfield. Not expecting spurs to be incredible but I do think Kinski has that potential to rack up some saves while spurs are still a little bit open in Jerusalem's system. So I'm still. I'm still full of 4.5 million goalkeepers and I personally am not on Raya myself as a pick.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah, I think I would agree with that. And Verberg and Kinski was the popular pair and I was talking about. I think it's great that Kinski is featuring eight in this list being the highest 4.5 million keeper and you can understand why generally people want to spend as little as possible and it does get tricky when you start looking at the bench boost Hibo then before we move on from the goalkeepers then does anyone else stand out for you here? I mean for me particularly Alison Becker and Pickford of course I think they're very high for our projections for the first six and you know Pickford's Gameweek 5 and GW6 game that really pushes him to break into the top five. Any. Any way you'd go with an Alisson or a Pickford start season?
Hibo
I don't think so. You know like you're seeing some noises with a Liverpool and particularly Areola has talked about like he doesn't feel as if the squad just fatigue as it possibly can be. Now there I think there's been some changes in the backline at Liverpool as well. They've brought a one on loan from Barcelona. I don't think Barcelona were set the same goal. Do you know like Liverpool have kind of unveiled him as this really big signing. I think it's going to take time to adjust there and you know like looking at preseason and I think normally we look at preseason as an indicator of fitness. Like we want to see players get minutes. Like I wouldn't read that he leaves too much about oh he got a goal, he got an assistant. There are must haves for our team but I think it's interesting to see how the team shape line up and are they. Are they looking a wee bit leaky at the back and I think Liverpool are probably still in that space. I think you make a good point about Pickford. You know like has numbers are boosted by like 5 and 6 but I think most of us are going to play like an air down off wildcard whether it's in game week four Game week five or game week six. So there's the potential to readjust them like fax your goalkeeper pairing down the line. I do think goalkeeper as a possession can are quite narrow like you know, laments is on there as a pack as we've already said Kingski's on there as a pack for Brugan's obviously on there Raya and like my, my point Raya because somebody had mentioned the chat like I don't really see any reason why people will go for Raya unless they're well cared. In game week six I had looked at him as a parent with like a four point knot and that would be not the bench booster. So that's just to kind of put that in the record like that would be the only reason. And then when you're thinking that that's 10 million spending goalkeeper versus nine I suppose at the cheapest avenue. So like it kind of works in terms of my team if I'm not playing on the early bench boost. But look, I don't really think there's, there's huge amounts of standards there apart from that maybe somebody like Leno could come under the thinking. I think like down the line when you're looking at kind of five and six for wildcard that point he's got a couple of very, very good fixtures if people are kind of fancy in the late bench boost. But I think for now the main options are more or less kind of relatively known, if you know what I mean. And those are the cheap keepers have taken a bump in price. Like normally we would look at like a keeper from Sunderland to being like 4.5. Like no, no, they're like 5 sales is like 5 and that's why people are being drawn on there. I think that 4.5 price points so no, I think, I think it's mostly been discussed and I think like you're really looking at going rare and a very cheap option and not bench pushing or else you're going for maybe the two 4.5s.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah and I would agree with that and I've seen with people sending their drafts and all over Twitter that some people are having a Donnaruma for example I and interest in punts. We do expect City to start season well and, and the stats also back that up. So if you have any interest in goalkeeper shouts do put them in the comments. We have our eyes on the comments and we will have a section at the end of the stream for a Q and A for as many questions as possible. So do hold off if you can, let's move on to some of the defenders, then I'll quickly name off maybe the top six to eight players. Of course, no surprise given Arsenal again and Goldre is Gabrielle, second is Virgil van Dijk, third, Tarkovsky fourth Chao fifth Pedro Porro sixth we have Jarrod Brantwaite, seventh is Gwardiol and eighth is Mascara. This is where things start to get interesting and I think you know, this season in particular, it's our second season with defcon. We have a year's worth of data and sure we have other data that we have, but we don't really look past more than a year's worth of information when we're making our teams for this year. And I think we've probably and most FPL managers I think is fair to say, have forgot about how good DEFCON is. And it's only a matter of time now and we're already starting to count to DEFCON as the pre seasons and games go on. But no surprise to see the defconners at the top of this list. And what is interesting to me is of course Pedro Paro with his attacking threat in fifth and being a Spurs fan also having his own route to DEFCON since Roberto de Zerbi. Let's go to you again, first Hibo. Anyone standing out in this list who maybe you haven't been expecting, or anyone who you think is lower than you know who you would have intended to start the season, you're on mute. Hibbo. I think.

Oh, you're mute mate.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah, I think you're on mu.
Hibo
Sorry, I was on mute. No, like we're looking at say number four in the last shot, Newcastle. Like I don't think anybody would be going for a Newcastle defender in the first kind of six weeks. Like they're a team that's like hugely influx. They've got a new managers come on the door. They've lost Gordon, they've lost Bruno Gimus. It like kind of weakens them from an overall kind of team position. So he's not somebody that I would be considering. Gabrielle obviously tops the shop. You know like we're looking at Gabrielle 29.36 like expected points over the first six but the 8 million price points kind of putting people off and I think it's kind of interesting to just kind of come down the last ever so slightly and like you see Mosquera sitting there in eighth now. Mosquito is going to be a player that's potentially going to have a short shelf life. You know people are going to come back. You know, Saleeba's out for a while but there are other options. Like you know they do have like California, they do have. You're not going to have him forever but like again whenever, like so much of like chip strategies cannot determine that people are going to kind of front load the season again. He's going to be a pack and if you're looking at has like 21.3 expected points over the first 6real of these, like 5.5 million price points. Compare that to Gabriel's. Like, you can see why people are like trying to find a route on that arsenal defense. Like they're obviously completely strong. Like, you know, but I think there's a lot of kind of options on here that they're subject to change. Like Van Heck, again, like we were looking at him on Brighton, we were looking at his defcon potential. How is that going to stack up if he goes on? They say the spurs team besides Senesi, you know, does Senesi and the spurs team become the DEFCON magnet as opposed to Van Hecker? Because they're obviously not going to win all defcon, both of them together. Like somebody's obviously going to be more dominant. So I think that's kind of where it kind of comes back to like that information point. Like, you know, we want like kind of five or six weeks information before we will care where then you can say, look, we know you know who the DEFCON players like you already touched upon pre season people are counting the fcon. I don't really like it as a strategy because like you're counting the FCON in games where like teams are playing continental teams. You're like field and reserves and it's hard to gauge like, you know, people are kind of getting very excited about Vskovic. I think he has at Brighton. It's kind of too early for me and I think in terms of kind of really unearthing who the DEFCON GM is going to be for the season ahead, we're probably going to need about five or six game weeks worth of data and that's okay because like I think what people want us people want to be right out of the blocks in game week one. But I don't really think you need to be like I think you can just kind of pick a solid team, take your five weeks of data, then find out. Right. Okay. He's an absolute beast. He's a seasoned James, Tulsa, whatever and then lock the players on.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah, I think it's an interesting conversation to have and particularly Gabrielle. We kind of touched off this pre stream hibo about, you know, with the community shield. All it would take is a Gabrielle goal or assist or hitting defcon. You better bet that people are going to be counting Gabrielle's defcon in that game. And also I think they've actually priced Gabrielle phenomenally well. I mean 2.5 is the discrepancy to the next Arsenal defender, maybe a Califuri or mascara. And he does provide something that is very similar to for example a Bruno Fernandes who you know he's going to play every single game and you know he's going to get consistent Defcon. He might hit it every single game but he's also always going to attack, provide attack and threat and great minutes in comparison to you know, his counterparts like a timber Califioria White who we do expect to see some sort of rotation in the first five, maybe not the first two or three but definitely later down the line if they don't sign someone like we spoke about by the end of the month. So I think it definitely opens up an interesting conversation. Nacho, does anyone stand out for you? For me, like I think Malik shows is really interesting. I mean in terms of analytically I always have a, you know, one eye on what they're kind of thinking and every single projection I see from Alex Chao, I mean he's in a lot of bench boost teams and I've seen even people on Twitter start to bring him in. Well, does anyone stand out in particular for you?
Callum
Well it's funny you mentioned Chow because when I see these Newcastle training videos I was expecting absolute despair within the club but you always get carried away and they always show the good parts of these sort of videos but actually looks pretty good vibes at Newcastle right now going into it. Is that going to equate to results? Absolutely not. Don't be buying players based on training videos but it does feel like almost that club needed that kind of a little bit of like rejuvenation a little bit. I know Eddie Howe was getting a bit stale at the back of the last season amongst them, so don't be surprised if Newcastle do have that kind of like new fan spirit about them. And Chow I believe has been appointed captain now or at least he was during pre season in some of the games. Great set piece threat as we know and great for defcon. So while I wouldn't be going on him early doors, I think you know from game week five onwards when he's got Hull, Coventry and all, that's definitely one to monitor. But you know, I think it's really difficult to afford the likes of a Virgil Van Dijk. We know how incredible he is. He's right up there alongside Gabrielle. In terms of the threat from set pieces great for defcon. Liverpool absolutely need him to play alongside that Jacque because they have nobody else in defense. They are so thin on the Ground, but really at 6.5 million, unless you're making sacrifices in your midfield or in the front line, I'm just find it very hard with every draft that I build to have Virgil Van Dyke in and I do think he's actually not a bad play at all. I wouldn't be surprised if he outscores Gabrielle over the opening few weeks. A few players on this list that I'm really not looking at. Pedro Poro, late back from the World Cup. I think that's one to avoid for now and see what this team's like and people like Munos as well. Unfortunately the games turned into a DEFCON game and these sort of players you really need to be picking the ones that have unbelievable returns from an attacking perspective. And we don't even know if Munos is going to offer that with this Crystal palace team with no Glassner in charge. So there's a few teams here in players in particular that are in a bit of flux with their management. I see Nico Williams as an example, 19th on this list. He could suddenly become not in the Forest's Moon Oaks and all of a sudden at 5 million for game weeks one and three, he's phenomenal. But you almost got to take that punt in the opening few weeks if you do want to capitalize on it. And I just don't know if we're getting enough information in pre season to go for those attacking players. So by default I do think we are going to land on these DEFCON picks like Ballard, who's 13th on this list. Safe, steady pick with decent opening fixtures
Host (Nigel)
and does part of your tour process. You know when, let's just say we are penciling a wild card gameweek 4 and you know the defconners are so good over a period of time because you know they're going to be consistent at picking up four pointers if they concede and then massive holes if they keep a clean sheet. Is there like a gap in the market where you're really trying to go for players with a bit more attack and threat or a bit more explosivity in the first four game weeks if you do plan on World Card and fairly early on?
Callum
Yeah, 100 I think there definitely is a route for that. I do feel like we are naturally going to be tempted to go for DEFCON players because of how powerful they were last season, in particular those midfielders as well where they were racking up those points. But I really think there is, like you said, a niche and it shouldn't even be a niche to go for fun attacking players in this game. That was what the last 10 years has been like in FPL. So it will be really refreshing for people to take on these DEFCON picks. And end of the day, if teams have really great fixtures, take Man United as an example. Are we also anticipating these players to necessarily hit defcon? You know, everyone's talking about Maguire, but Holland, Ipswich in the open in two games, if we all think that's going to be a goal fest for Man United, do we even think they hit DEFCON in those games? So it's kind of one of those sort of situations really where great fixtures might not even equal defcon. So you might as well at times lean towards those attacking players that could influence in the final third. Now am I gonna do that? Probably not. I probably will be a bit boring and go for these safe, steady picks, but I do think there are some great options available. Like we said with Williams as a pick and also as we discussed with Munos, if you want to take a punt on a palace. But that's. That one's definitely not for me.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah, I'm hoping the attacking fullbacks make a submerges back into people's teams because with the bonus point changes, they're very, very subtle. But I'm hoping that they will go a long way. I mean, for me, like I said with Pedro Paro, I do have one eye on him, but I just think it does come a bit early. Similar to Nico Riley, who's not on this list, but definitely something to consider come gameweek one and after the community shield. Hibo, do you want to touch on anything before we move on from the defenders?
Advertiser
No.
Hibo
Well, just a quick point, Nico really, because the chat have been asking basically where he's not on and this, these ratings are basically lifted directly from fantasy football scouts members area so people can go on. What I do is I just hack them with the Excel and put them on these, this nice wee table and stuff like that. But the reason O'Reilly will be down and not on this table is basically maybe some concerns about his minutes. But I think it's a good conversation to have like, you know, because like Gavardio is obviously sitting seventh here. But I see people kind of calling on Guardiol especially this week, like, you know, because as naturally said, it's kind of difficult to put a team together. Like once you start going like Holland, Bruno, Sabislai, Brian and Bimbo, how do you fit those defenders on? And you're starting to see people kind of cool because they're thinking lack of Arsenal. I could have some Man United. I could have options for my bench boost. And even at 5.5, I think like, you know, you're looking as you touched on earlier in the board, like Ruben Diaz potentially playing, you know, center half Cavardial. Where's he going to play? Is he going to play predominantly center back or is he going to play some games at left back? There's competition between O'Reilly and I Nori potentially at left back as well. Is O'Reilly maybe going to play in midfield? And then I think one thing that kind of really kind of works against O'Reilly is he's not a DEFCON player at all. Like I looked at his data from like 19 to 38. I don't think he had DC points once. So they touch on Kenan Nacho's point as well. People like to hark back to the kind of glory days of look. I'd love to pick like a really attack and fallback. And I don't think the changes to the bonus point system are going to be enough to bring right backs and left backs back under thinking I think they're going to kind of dilute the potential like center backs ever so slightly. And there's been some data on this. I think like Tom Baer on Twitter did this and I think over the season it looked as if Gabrielle would have lost like seven points with the bonus points changes. So like it's not a huge difference. It's kind of like very incremental. But I think the main thing to watch and like we're going to look at this I think in the community shield is how's Man City going to line up? Like, you know, and can like Gvardiopeg or Keanu really be a pack. But I think people are nicely just going to gravitate the defcon because like you can try and hit goals, you can try and hit the suspect defenders. But I think ultimately those two points and it was such a hot topic at the start of last season, the Whiteies want these two points. It's only two points. But over the season defcon was just huge. Like it was just such a massive factor and I think that was the main learning I think people took away from last season. We can't really ignore this and fundamentally the game's changed. Like Munoz tried his best to keep up with goals and assists and he couldn't keep up with the best DEFCON defenders in the game. So look, I think it would be a but negligent to kind of look past them.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah. And I'm absolutely delighted that they've priced pretty much anyone who's been consistent at def con at ludicrous prices. I mean, Laquat 6 million and Senesi, who might even start for spurs at 6 as well. I think it's brilliant for the game in case they do become consistent options. Let's move on to some of the midfielders. I think this is probably the most interesting section from these graphics. I mean, thank you again, Hibo. These are absolutely brilliant. Topping the list is someone who you're not going to expect. And I'll read out the top eight for people who are listening. I'll do 10 this time because it's midfielders. Cole Palmer is on top of the list. Bruno Fernandez in second, Saka third in Buemo fourth, Kuna fifth, Gibbs White sixth, Siren seven, Foden in eight, Sabasloy in ninth and 10th we've Dewsbury hall and I'll touch off 11 because it's become very, very popular in Florian vertical. We are all in the same boat with Cole Palmer and that is that we're waiting to see how his game time is going to be getting closer to the season. I mean, that is probably the biggest talking point. And of course they have that tough fixture in game week three with Arsenal, but it's followed by a Gameweek four fixture with Holland. He is projected to absolutely smash it. I mean, when I look at some of the dark purple fixtures here, which I'm gonna guess are fixtures where you're in around the highest score of the week, Palmer's projections in GameWeek 4 are 7.4, which is the highest on this list, I believe. Hibogen, let's go back to you. When you see Cole Palmer on top of this list and nowadays out of many drafts, with, you know, so much doubt around his minutes and whether it's, you know, new incomings and Xavi Alonso, people are unsure kind of how they're going to get on to start season. And then that tough Arsenal fixture in game three. Are you happy to hold off on the Chelsea assets? I mean, particularly Palmer, because a lot of us seem to be going with Joe Pedro. Could he make his way into your team come game week one, or do you think there's nothing between now and then that could change that?
Hibo
I don't think there's anything that could change it. I think I love Palmer. I don't know how much Sky Cash you watch, but like, I became a bit of a Palmer fanboy last season and I was. And I was anyway, like, you know, but he did butts for me in a couple of weeks last season and I was absolutely delighted with it. But like, if I look at like, you know, game week 19 to game week 38, I think think he had something like 11 xga amongst muds and he was only kind of behind Fernandez who had like 12.03. So, like, he did well. But the huge caveat was that his data stats were hugely powered up by penalties. Like we saw how many kind of ridiculous penalties Nig was a Chelsea fan, how many ridiculous penalties he got over such a short period of time. And that's really kind of boosted up those FCA numbers to a certain extent. Palmer as a player, like, you know, you could turn around one extent and say, well, he had the summer off, but he seems to know you can have maybe potentially a wee bit of a niggle and injury just at the start of this season and he's kind of stuttered and faltered from his kind of Premier League best. And like, when you're looking at that 9.5 price point, like, I think there's lots to like him in terms of the fact that he's got pens, he does well when he plays out the right or whenever he plays in the 10. But at 9.5, you have to be sure, you know, like, you can't. You can't be nearly sure. And look du, he's almost at that Keenan premium price point. And I think that's why you're seeing people gravitate towards Ken Pedro with like 7.5, because we're like kind of looking at his minutes. He's also had the summer off, but people are thinking he's maybe a sure bet on that team. And for example, if Palmer doesn't play, does Pedro have a chance of taking a penalty? It could be Enzo, of course. But I think at this point in time, people are okay to wait and see in Palmer. And I think what you could do, and I think we talked about this before the borders people are going to go on the season and think, I want to pack a team, I want to save me transfers, I want the wild card and I want to have a strong bank of transfers. But what people could do is be like super brave. Like people can I get the game before and think I'm wildcarding soon. I'm going to go Bruno to Palmer sounds crazy, but I want them for captain against hall. And like, you know, if holler as bad as what we're expecting hall to be, and we think Holler are going to be terrible. Maybe that's a kind of aggressive play. Like once you have had like three game weeks to go, right? I know he's going to be fat enough for this game, so I'm really going to back him. But I think they start the season game week one at the moment. Too much for the price. Like it's. It's 9.5 too much.
Host (Nigel)
And I think it's interesting that, you know, Palmer is top of the table, even though we're suspicious about his minutes. But Nico really doesn't make the defenders list, which is definitely interesting. Nacho, let's go to you then. Other than the obvious, right, we have Bruno Fernandez in second. I think a lot of us are actually probably surprised he's not top of the list given how good he is in the season he had last year. Does anyone else stand out for you? For me, when I look at something like this, Brian and Buemo and Matias Kuna. Again, it's minutes. It's minutes and minutes. Who's going to play left wing? Is Dorgo going to take minutes off Kuna? Is Ahmed going to take minutes off? Imbuemo Cannon, Buemo play up top. I really like Matthias Kuna and Brian and Buemo to start the season, particularly for the first two. Who else stands out for you?
Callum
Well, what I really don't like is sack a third on this list. I think that is one to avoid, to say the least. I mean, he was cooked in the World cup and we're not even seeing him in an Arsenal shirt yet. So please avoid Saka even if he plays in the community. I think that is a. That is a big avoid right now, but one that I haven't even considered right now. I'm going to be honest with you, it's going to be Gibbs White at Forest. Now, obviously with fpl, sometimes it's one of those games where if you have a great time with a player the previous season, you have that affiliation with them and you almost want to have them. Like I had that with Semenu a little bit where I was like, I had such a good time with him. I kind of want him in my team once again. I never really owned Gibbs White last season, but it was such a fantastic season for him. Of course. No, no World cup as well. Coming back into it. It sounds like he's going to stay at Forest and right now, sick from this list and with the fixtures that Forest do have. If you look at the bench boost in game week one with that brilliant home fixture against Leeds in the opening game and then of course in game week three. I think they've got a decent fixture against, I mean Spurs. It's one of those where you don't know what spurs team you are going
Hibo
to get on them.
Callum
Apologies mate on that one but I do think Gibbs White is an interesting pick nonetheless for our teams. The problem is 8 million. I just can't really justify it when you compare it to the two that you mentioned in Cunha and in Buemo because end of the day Hull and Ipswich back to back. If they are as bad as what some people are talking about in particular Hull and you've gone for someone like Gibbs White who has got a good fixture in game week one but then has Liverpool in game week two. I just don't get it. I would much rather go for a second Man United attacker than Gibbs White for those open in two game weeks. But one to consider on here. The other one of course is going to be sabals like 9th on this list and Verts But I think you said you're going to touch on that in a second because that is really opening up a bit of a division right now in the game.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah, take us away. Hibo Verts versus Sabasolai. Anyone that knows me, I love a differential. Verts would be my pick especially to start the season. What's there to lose with 0.5 million?
Hibo
I think it's a really kind of interesting a bit, you know because words came in the season and like physically it wasn't there. Like you know we've seen training punches at Wurzen. He's obviously started the ball cup over the summer and he looks in the kind of condition for Premier League now. It's more like a Vert v kind of saabaslay kind of situation at the moment because like people are talking about initially Szabislay is going to play in the 10 do you know and like we saw like the difference it made when Bruno moved to the 10 last season. Huge difference in terms of kind of like an FPL asset. You know you're more chance of goals, more chance of intercess. Szaberslai obviously has a complete domination of set pieces and dead balls. There's a debate where he has penalties. I know a lot of people think that Isaac has penalties but I at this point in time I think it's 50, 50 until one of them takes a penalty. I'm not putting any above the other but I think with words you're kind of very reliant on play production. Now last season he didn't really do it so there's a wee bit of risk there and I think look these written is always kind of very heavily rated kind of penalty takers set piece tickers and I think we have to factor that on my shoulders. Like, like even if he's playing on it, I think that's okay. I think once Premier League starts, I think you'll see him get DEFCON in the odd game. Like it might be like kind of 25% of the time, 30% of the time at best because his DEFCON numbers are a bit sketchy from last season because like so much of the period of time he was getting shunted out there right back and they did very good for the FCON at right back.

step up now for me, I don't know if I would do it either or I think there's a world where you could pick a draft and have S and vers, but I'm not really that kind of spicy player. If I had to pick between the two of them I would pick S mainly for the set pieces but I could see like a like like ui like somebody who plays a game a wee bit looser, somebody who's a wee bit more aggressive. Words could be that pack especially if you're looking for a very kind of compacted window of like say kind of four or five game weeks before you will care. Maybe throw your lap down with words and it kind of comes up trump because like Liverpool do you have like a couple of good fixtures? If you're looking at early doors, Newcastle away, I think that's favorable. You're looking at Forest at home very good. Upswitch away very good. Then Fulham and Bournemouth. So like those first five game weeks people could be a wee bit more aggressive in Liverpool and they could double an attack but people are obviously going to be a wee bit more reluctant resident after seeing the comments from Areola. He thinks they're not a piss they play his style of football. So let's see how that pans out the rest of pre season goes.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah absolutely. And I just quickly want to touch off before we move on from the midfielders about an Alex Woby who features on the list. Wilson who had a phenomenal season last year joining Leeds who is actually 14th on the list. And then what I think you know a lot of models are shown and pointing out to do well this season, particularly if he's on penalties is Buendia for Villa who you know doesn't have the greatest of fixtures to start the season but if he's getting solid minutes and is also on some set pieces and penalties in particular, he could be a great budget midfielder. Let's move on to the forwards. We could talk about the midfielders for another hour but we have to move on to the forwards because I am getting conscious of the time. Getting on to the forward list then and let me quickly name you the top 10. We have a lot of different budget options in here and I think this is one of the more interesting areas where it will actually split a lot of managers this year and I think it's great that they've priced a lot of them at 6 million. You have the two big boys who are no surprise top of list for me. Haaland leaves the line at one. Isak is second. Thiago is third. Watkins fourth. Joe Pedro and fifth.
Callum
Fifth.
Host (Nigel)
Solanke is somehow in sixth. Calvert Lewin in seventh. We have McBurney in eight, Brobie in ninth and Evan Ilsen. Intense. Let me quickly start off with Isak who is currently second. I mean Hibo you said with Liverpool with some of the best fixtures in the league and we still have our teams to run through so we won't stay on this section for too long. But is there any world in which you fancy in Isakibo
Hibo
all depends on penalties. It does. You know I think if you're. That's. If you're looking at Exec after he joined Liverpool like it. It doesn't go well. Do you know like he. He had a very injury interrupted season. Slotball doesn't really work out for him by. By rates like Liverpool could have sacked a manager around Christmas. They kind of held on and held on and held on but now you're looking at exact around 9. But if we look at his kind of top seasons for Newcastle where he was able to have around 170 to 200 points that that potential is there and like that potential also had penalties so so much here comes down to the debate between Kennis obviously and hum. And I think if we were to see some kind of news maybe even in pre season before it ends that he is on penalties. I don't know if it would sway me completely out of the block because Putney kind of fundamentally changes the team. I don't know about you guys but whenever I try to make a draft if you have like Holland it's easy to put on like a Calvert Leon or like an Igor Jesus or a Bravi or somebody like that at 6 million or Geo Pedro with 7 and a half but it's hard to squeeze on a 9 million without a kind of fundamentally changing your team shape. Almost so many kind of managers thinking about that early BB it probably becomes even more difficult. Maybe he's X1 that we start the season then we find out he's got penalties. We find out that These minutes are very, very solid. Because look, they were solid at Newcastle. Maybe whenever Ariela kind of gets his feet on the table, he plays every minute or plays every week. Then I think you can decide, look, he's a player that we're going to go for and people kind of call on like Sabislai and stuff like that. As a Liverpool pick, he could be the one. But I think out of the blacks I'll stick to what I know and I'll stick to the kind of minutes I know. And I think I would be cool on them for like game week one, for example.
Host (Nigel)
And that leads us perfectly into Joao Pedro who will go to Nacho as a Chelsea fan. And we'll also talk about Calvert Leone, which is the double template that I'm seeing quite often in a lot of teams.
Hibo
Teams.
Host (Nigel)
I mean talk to me about Joe Pedro Calama, I think he's absolutely unbelievable. Value at 7.5 could have easily been 8 million. Especially with Chelsea getting no European football and a quite favorable manager and him being so good last year. Is there any world in which you don't go Joe Pedro,
Callum
it is hard not to go there. I totally agree. When I saw his price come in at 7.5 million, I thought it was ridiculous pricing, to be honest with you.
Advertiser
Now I get it.
Callum
He's never going to be on penalties in this team while Carl Palmer is on the pitch. And Enzo also takes penalties as well. So Joe Pedro, you just don't have to have that sort of Esac was still thinking can he be your penalties? Would he not? Don't have that consideration with Jai Pedro you are completely dependent on open play, goals involvement. But last season he got 24 goal involvements, all of those open plays. So you know we can do the business. And that was a really turbulent Chelsea team. And what we're seeing in pre season right now is even if Welbeck starts, which he has the last two, it isn't at the expense of Xiao Pedro Jao. Pedro is either playing as like a second forward in possession or he's playing in the number 10 role. So I see no world which I Pedro is going to suddenly become this like 65, 70 minute player who comes off the pitch now I do think there is a world where you can go against him. I think Fulham away that that isn't like a given at all for Chelsea. That's been a tough place to go. Brighton at home I think is a bit better, especially with European qualifying football for them either side of game week one. So Chelsea should be in a good place for that fixture. But then Arsenal away and then game week four where we're gonna have all that information. We're going to know whether shout Pedro Rogers is better than Palmer. If there's a Chelsea defender like Palestra. So people who were against Chelsea, I actually think it's definitely an argument to just say forget about him for the opening three, then buy him in game week four, whether that be on a free hit or in general. But for me, if you're not going Cole Palmer in your team, I've seen enough in preseason already suggest that Joe Pedro is going to be a decent pick for your teams. And it's 7.5 million. I think he is worth the 1.5 million more than a Calvert, Lewin, a Brobie or an Eagle.
Advertiser
Jesus.
Host (Nigel)
I've not made a draft without Joe Pedro. I'm finding it quite difficult and I think a lot of people are getting to the point where they can't go without Calvin Lyon without completely breaking up the structure of their team. And the 6 millions do a lot for your team, I mean especially you know, if you were to go with it. Isaac, you're kind of forced into going with 6 million. That leads us beautifully into looking at my team. And I think it's going to be a great discussion with you boys and we won't stay on it too long because again, I am conscious of the time and we also have to look at your guys's team before the Q A. But let's quickly bring up my team. So for everyone who's listening, leave me quickly name it out. On goal I've got Kinski a tree to back with Van Heck, Mascara a defender that Nacho can name. I got Maguire a four in midfield with Cunha, Silvasloy, Semenu and Buemo tree up top with Erling Haaland who currently has the Ironman, Alexander Isak and Joe Pedro. Four on the bench are Fraser, Forster, Diop, Thomas and Hughes. 0 million in the bank and of course unlimited transfers to start the season. Let me quickly start. I am a Spurs fan of course. I'm trying to not make my picks based on bias. Let me talk about spurs and kind of what I think we're going to start the season with. I think there's no doubt for me Van Heck is going to start right side of center half. Romero going who is literally out the door to Atletico Madrid. Senesi is a left footed and left sided center half. So I would be very surprised to see Van Heck drop out of the team start season. Roberto Zerby also adores him. I think like you said Hibble, we've seen decent defcon numbers from Van Heck and yet to see kind of what Roberto Zerby is going to do systematically and how that's going to affect his numbers. I think it's going to be Kinski, Poirot right back, Van Heck right center back, Van De Ven, left sided center half and likely Andrew Robertson depending on Adobe's fitness. So I've doubled up on the spurs offense. I don't absolutely love it and I would love to stretch through a Pedro Paro but I can't stretch the 0.5. Having that front tree Mascara I feel like is a player who hasn't left my team since the game started. I think even before the pricing got revealed. You've seen all the content creators. I wonder what Mascara is going to be and he was nicely at 5.5. I think he's going to start the season especially with Saliba out and he's not going to leave my draft unless we see someone come in like a concert for example for Arsenal Maguire is very similar. You know I think you can have a show but for me Maguire, you know provides a good bit of defcon and also decent attacking threat. No, Bruno is the biggest talking point of this team. I've gone with Kuna and Buemo who we've seen very high on the projections for midfielders and that's exactly what I've tried to do with this team. I think if I can get the minutes from Kuna and Buemo collectively, I don't think either of them will outscore Bruno in in you know, a two week period. If I'm looking to go with the captaincy on someone else who's not on Bruno even if I own them, well then I'm more than happy to go with different United attackers and put the Ironman on Haaland who I'm actually quite comfortable doing in gameweek one in the midfield is also Semenyo. Semenu has done started preseason looking absolutely electric. That's probably one of the things that we do look for outside of the goals and assists even though he has provided a decent amount of assists as well. And then we have Szabaszlai in Isak the penalty share discussion for me I actually think there's a very good chance Isak's going to be on penalties. The only reason is I just think with his long injury Szabaszlai potentially being a good captain for example, handing the ball over to get his campaign started for the new season. Joe Pedro, who we touched on for me, is just not going out with this team. I think he's an absolute mainstay and I've not made a draft without him on the bench is very thin. I'm seeing a lot of people with bench boost one, bench boost two. For me, the bench actually isn't too dissimilar. I don't fancy rotating my keeper anyway. Most people have a Coventry defender or two and a dead spot who is a 5.5 million Coventry striker or if you are stretching the 6 million. So I'm not too displeased having a poor bench and I feel like in the 11, I've gone for a lot of players who I'm quite confident with minutes who to start with. Callum, tell me your thoughts on the team and then we'll move on to both your guys's team.

I love it and the reason why I love it is because it's different. We've done a few, obviously streams right now and we've had the kind of same default players in, but I haven't even considered putting Esac in. I haven't even considered taking Bruno Fernandez out of my team either. And what I like about this is that it just drives a bit more discussion, a bit more perspective, because sometimes you get a bit blinded, whether it be good or bad, and you think yourself, I have to fit these certain players in and I've only got eight spots to change. But when you do look at this team here, is it a world where Kunya Nibuemo just outscore Bruno Fernandez for the two games? Because end of the day, you're not building a team for 38 game, which you're simply only doing it for possibly four weeks if you are looking to wildcard early doors. So, you know, do I think could your own Bueno better than Bruno Fernandez? No. But do I think they could be for those opening two games? Yeah, 100%. So I really like it, mate. I do think of Isak, he's another perfect example. I don't think it'd be an option when they're in Champions League football because of the way that he is recently, I don't think we put that trust. But is there a world where before European football comes, he's absolutely on fire again? I think that is absolutely possible because once he does do well, let's say Ipswich a game week three, nobody can buy him because City have got Coventry and then after that they got Fulham, Bournemouth and Man City. So you're going to benefit from it all in those first three weeks. So I like it. It's brave, don't get me wrong. But I quite like the change up mate.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah, it's definitely, you know, room for discussion and even in chat people are saying, you know, Tree Liverpool players after a campaign last season again we've held the bar so high for Liverpool and yet they still scored 63 goals last season it was the 4 or 5th highest in the league. With E Salah who went off to Turkey, Ryu Ngamua, Ekatika and Isak injured. I mean under attacking manager like Iriola, I think they could start the season really well. I really fancy their fixtures. Hibo, I think that'll be the biggest talking point for you before we move on for my team. What do you think?
Hibo
What is your chop plan? So what are you, what are you thinking in terms of BB and wild card?
Host (Nigel)
You're a fan of the. The BB7 wildcard six. I think it's also up my alley. I'm trying to not look too far ahead and the team is quite decent up up until that point. I mean I'm not sure of using a transfer or two in between now and five. I don't plan on banking five free transfers and I think there is going to be a point where you know, Chelsea play against Holland. I'm gonna be looking at like a police show for example. I think that currently is where I'm at Triple captain game with Tree. Especially if I'm double up on the City assets. Yeah, that's where I currently stand. Not too pushed to have to force a bench boost early.
Hibo
I think it's a really exciting team agreement. Like I haven't, I haven't seen a team be like you know, the Double Liverpool and these kind of no Bruno in the double Man United attack alternative. So no, I think it's really nice. Okay. Did you come on the world. Did you come second?
Host (Nigel)
I didn't come second. I was one second with no Holland. So maybe I need to sell Holland and get Bruno in and. And then things.
Hibo
This is, this is maybe why you were shaking.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah, maybe just playing erratically. Anyway, let's make move on and let's move on to. I think I have Hibo's team here. Hibo, you probably don't have it in Frontier so I'll just read it out for you for anyone who's listening. On goal is Raya Atria back with Guardiol Maguire Mascara 5. In midfield, Elliot Anderson. Fernandez currently has the iron band Pascal Gross, Sabas line and Buemo 2. Up top with Haaland and Calvert Leonard. On the bench is Patterson, Thomas Ballard and Welly Egli. Talk us through your team Hibo. I think it's a very solid team and you know when we talk about Pen Pentaker solid minutes, I think it has it all.
Hibo
So what I've kind of tried to do during pre season is can I just consider different options because I think it's easy and we talked about this before the board. I think it's easy to consume loads of content and just can I get pigeonholed on the different kind of chip strategies without really considering all the options. So one week I showed like a BB2, then I showed a BB1. Now the consideration here is that you don't BB immediately. Okay, so like that's fairly obvious from the bench like Patterson, Thomas, Ballard and Volley Egli. The only good sub there is Ballard effectively. But this is kind of thinking about what if you will care that 6 and B beat in 7. Now the reason I've been thinking about this recently is fallen play Hull that week and spurs play Coventry. It kind of fits on the kind of nice, well cured slot for six in terms of kind of mid October as well and then BB the week after. And we, we had talked in previous weeks about you want to play the bench boost and will cure out of it. But like I've been having other thoughts about that too because I'm basically thinking it's nearly always optimal to have like a fairly good bench anyway. You know, like people that play the game analytically want to have kind of good bench absence. So do we really want to be playing through like a big part of the season through the Christmas? We're really thumb bench. Probably not. But no, like the thinker behind this is like double Arsenal defense is pretty good. Maguire, like you're obviously looking at those first two fixtures, Triple Man City, something that I want basically for the first five. Though there would be another option with this team where you change Anderson to a different midfielder and you move now. I think if you were being kind of super aggressive now and you kind of spoke about this, not wanting to necessarily bank transfers up to five, I think there's still an option to do that and to be aggressive at the front part of the game because people are thinking oh I need some menu now, but you could have somebody else move to Shimano on three for Coventry. I think that's an option as well. But no, they touch on the King of Mud. Feel like I'm thinking gross. I think he packs himself for the set pieces and pants. Bruno's very much the same and Bam was a pack. I like, I really, really like because of those kind of short term United fixtures. So obviously it'll depend what he is in terms of Willie, his pains. If he has the pains, I think he's probably a great asset. Anderson. We might see the defcon go down slightly for Anderson, but I think that could be offset by the fact that will he have the potential of being more goal involvement with a man City team? I think it's possible. Haaland picks himself and Calvert Luna is probably the best six in the game. Six million forward. So overall I like it, but it looks kind of slightly different than what people are seeing because it's not set up the BB in game week one. So like people will look at this and think, I absolutely hate this team. Like, you know, it's, you know, because it doesn't have to be one team. But this is kind of considering, right? What if he deferred to BB until 7? What could you play like in the first couple of weeks? And I do think there is the option around kind of say game week four, for example, where you think, what does this team lack? It doesn't have Chelsea, it doesn't have J Petal. Is there a word where, like, you're hyper aggressive in game week four, like we talked about it before the pod and you go, Bruno, these Palmer, somebody, dj, Pedro, like Valley ugly. It's possible, like, it works for the money. So these are kind of thoughts I'm having though, and I'm thinking, could I be aggressive in that first part of the game without using the chips, like by using transfers and playing kind of quite short term. And I think it's an option maybe.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah, I really like that because I think a lot of us are starting to look at bench boosts. And that brings us perfectly into Callum's team. Who is on Bench boost one, I believe. Let me quickly bring it up. Callum, do you have your team in front of you or do you want me to name it out?
Callum
No, I've got it here, mate.
Host (Nigel)
Perfect. Perfect work. Wait.
Callum
Yeah, so, yeah, I'm currently Adventure Boost one strategy as of right now. We spoke about it in previous streams. It's very much, I believe, bench boost one, you get a bit of a better 15. Bench boost two, very much a case of you're all in on Coventry and if you go bench boost one, you're not having any Coventry players because it makes no sense whatsoever. So team I've currently got for a bench boost 10 in the bank is going to be goalkeeper combination of Kinski and Verbruge and we spoke about it. It's kind of the template pick. I don't think they rotate amazing with one another but I do think at 4.5 million I think both teams do could see chances so they are in the business of saves and I also do think that there are good enough fixtures to keep clean sheets. In terms of the defense I've got Shaw, Vardy out and Califori and on the bench of the defenders we've got o' Shea and Hume at Sunderland now just quickly touching on my defenders right now I'll go for sure over Maguire because I don't really know if I'm that bullish on Maguire. I do think he's great for Defcon over 38 game weeks but for the opening four I feel content going. Sure. But I am very cautious of the fact that Dorgu could come in at left back possibly. Sure might not be as guaranteed at left back than other times so we'll see about that. California is just one of many 5.5 million options. I think Ben White's being massively overlooked as well at right back in the team. He's one that I'm considering as well. Moscara is the guaranteed DEFCON guy and then Vardy out for me is just very interesting to see where he plays in this Maresca team. If he's the inverted fullback then it could be very exciting. Early doors in terms of my defenders on the bench right now. Hume playing right wing right now for Sunderland played 30 plus games last season. 4.5 Decent value pick O' Shea I think he will start for Ipswich Sunderland at home. Let's hope for a nil nil in that game. Terms of the midfielders, Bruno's there alongside Ibuomo. For me they haven't left the team two back to back promoted teams. For me that's a no brainer but I've gone for Verts and this is where the 0.5 million I've had to find in this team. Just what we've seen in pre season, simple as that. We're seeing Verts playing much further forward, plenty of penalty box touches and I thought Verts is one of those where he had a bad rap last season, didn't live up to the money. But I still think he's a top top player and I do think this high intense sort of style is going to suit him in this system. Then I've gone for Norgaard again. I have no idea right now. This is just based on past data of previous clubs being a DEFCON beast. And then we've got Pascal Gross. Just keep an eye on those qualifying games either side. And then we've got Harland, Calvin Lewin and Jay Pedro. Front three Very very template Front three. But but yeah, I'm pretty content with this bench boost team right now, but a lot to keep an eye out for this Community Shield game on that Arsenal defender.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah, I think so much can change. And Hibo, this is quite similar to your team except with the bench boost right when you look at a team like this and I'm just gonna have to go grab a charger in just a second so I'll need you to comment on it, but it is very, very similar to your team. Hibo, you know what would convince you to go for a bench boost? One like I know it has a bad rep and people want to get it out of the way. And you were saying before we hopped on stream how you actually don't mind holding off and trying to set it up maybe when you have a bit more team value after a wild card, etc. Etc.

Well, I actually think the PB1 this season could be quite a good idea. Like you know, I think there's obvious negatives. Like people will look at the benchmark one and think what game Week one is the point of the season where we have the least information. But I think this season maybe kind of slightly different. Like you know, because of, because we played with half season chips last year. And I think you'll probably agree with this Nigel, it was kind of hard at times to kind of fit that BB on the correct slot in the first part of the season. And loads of thinking and loads of what we talked about in previous weeks in the scoutcasters. If you can get this bb, get a respectable amount of points out of it and then well cured out of it really soon, you can probably play where we've got more freedom. You can dance about the striker. You can maybe pick a four point not defender who actually kind of turns up and does about a defcon periodically and play the game really the proper way. Whereas I think if you're going to have to pick your team and BB at a later point in time, you could, you could hamstring yourself to a certain extent. I think that's probably the position that people are going to want to avoid. Like for me I'm only kind of, I think those, I think it's kind of in the hypothetical space. Like I want to kind of consider BB1, I want to kind of consider BB2. I want to consider something a wee bit further down the line. But for me like the thought process at the minute is like say my example where I'm saying well look, you could pick full of players the the BB against Holland like game week seven like you could get to that point in time and it might not be a smasher BB and like I could look at people that are BB in game week one and game week two and they've already gone so far ahead of me. Like that's. That's the risk that it represents. But I that I think in the content space there's a wee bit of haired mentality at the moment where people are looking at big content creators out there and they're talking about BB1, BB2 and most people are kind of following suit and that's why I'm looking to kind of look at something slightly different to be slightly differential and consider is there a different kind of chip strategy that you could pick. This has a similar team on paper and it does get the BB out of the way. I think if OC turns up a few turns up this could be good could be very respectable and like maybe Whitten for the perfect spot to be be hasn't the right play do you know.
Host (Nigel)
And I think that's absolutely it for me. Like I just think there's so much to learn about what's to come for the season. We don't even know if these are going to be the start elevens going into the team with transfers and a 4 million keeper could arise and a 4.5 million keeper for example 1 of Ipswich that we've seen could come up and consistently play or a croupy junior from last season. I just think there's so much potential to unravel to what's to come and you know that thing of always going second seeing what everyone does first, you know could actually really work out in in a situation like this. So I'm more than happy to wait later down the line. I actually don't have an issue with all if you are going with it early and I think there are a lot of perks to it. Of course you'll have that team value if you are going to wildcard as well and you won't have to worry about you know, building a team of 15 going into the second half of the season which is of course great. And with the dual ships this season I think and unless you know double game weeks or blank game weeks, it's definitely a viable play. We have slightly ran over time and I do apologize to everyone if we cannot head to the Q and A section and I hope you have enjoyed my scalecast debut. I actually tried to flicker to the the Q and A section. I didn't even have it set up, so. So we're gonna call it there. But before we go, Callum, Hibo. Anything left to say that we haven't covered? Let's go to Hibo first.
Hibo
No, I just want to say I think it's been a good pod. I think your sky cast debuts went particularly well. You're a very confident young man and your team's absolutely smashing. So look, go out and smash a season and come back in a skycast at some point. Don't replace Andy. I think Andy.
Host (Nigel)
Yeah, Andy actually text me before the stream. He told me not to do too well in case.
Callum
By the way, he absolutely meant that.
Host (Nigel)
No, I'm only joking. Nacho, anything left to say?
Callum
No, it's been class. It's been really good. No, absolute top host in May. Absolutely smashed it. It's really good as well to see your team because like I said, I think Hibo and the and I, you know, it's one of those where you kind of bounce off ideas one another and sometimes you do come about with similar sort of picks. So it's been really refreshing to see see different sort of team in there. I'm loving the chat right now. People saying a sack Andy and bring you in full time. I think that's a fantastic shout though myself now. Joking. And if you're watching this. But no, loved it. But as always, let's not kid ourselves. These drafts are going to change in a week, no doubt when we get the last few games out of the way. So, yeah, I'm loving FPL the way it's going right now and I've enjoyed this stream a lot, lads.
