What a play.
Dave Richard
Can you believe this?
Jamie Eisenberg
No, I can't.
Adam Azer
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
Dave Richard
Off to the races and he stays on his feet. This is going to go now.
Adam Azer
Here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie and he.
Dave Richard
We welcome you to our Super Bowl 59 recap and spinning it ahead to 2025. Let's just draft Eagles and Chiefs and see how it shakes out. After Saquon Barkley who would obviously be the number one pick, Adam Azer here and Jamie Eisenberg on Super Bowl Sunday night, 10:45pm we welcome you to Fantasy Football Today presented by BetMGM, the sportsbook born in Vegas. There were so many things that were bad about tonight. Just awful, awful.
Jamie Eisenberg
How's your food?
Dave Richard
I have such a stomachache. I ate so much and the cookie cake really did me in. It just. I'm a sucker for cookie cake. It was very good. I'm still like still eating. I just had like a little bit more right before I came on. I have a tummy ache. Yeah. How about you?
Jamie Eisenberg
No, I didn't eat very much at all. I actually. So poor Heath, as I think everybody knows by now, he's my son's, my, my 12 year old son's seventh grade basketball coach. So he lost two championships today. He lost the super bowl for the Chiefs and they made their first ever tournament final.
Dave Richard
That's great.
Jamie Eisenberg
And they lost that one too.
Dave Richard
That's all right, you know, making the finals pretty good. And honestly, congratulations to the Eagles. It wasn't an awful night for me because the Eagles won. I couldn't care less. Was just wanted to see a good game. We didn't get that and I think a lot of people were disappointed in the halftime show. But you know, look, 40 to 22, domination. They had the ball for over 36 minutes, almost 37 minutes. 36 minutes and 58 seconds. The first half was just an absolute joke and just congratulations to the Eagles. They, they change their offense after their week five buy became the most run heavy team in football and did not lose the entire season. Except for the one game Jalen Hurts left with a concussion. They were completely dominant. What were your takeaways from the game?
Jamie Eisenberg
You know, it's funny because you, you're obviously gonna look at the score and you're gonna say, okay, 22 points by the Chiefs. It's one of the most dominant defensive performances we've ever seen in this game, you know, and just Vic Fangio finally gets his first win against Mahomes. I'm sure he'll take it, you know, given the fact that the other losses were not as significant from a, you know, big game standpoint. He did lose a one, he did lose one playoff game as a defense coordinator for the Dolphins. But obviously he gets his, you know, do for beating, you know, one of the great quarterbacks. And Jalen Hurts, who ends up being the super bowl mvp, you know, gets his revenge as well. Sirianni also for the super bowl loss two years ago where they usually could have won that one Too, you know, 38, 35 Chiefs won that one. But yeah, it was just a, a complete dominant performance by that defense in the first half. Third time in his career Patrick Mahomes went scoreless in half fewest passing yards he's ever had in his career and a half. And they could not do anything, they could literally do nothing offensively in, in the first half. You know, again they got some, some production, you know. Third quarter touchdown to Xavier Worthy and then the 16 points in the fourth quarter. But my God, it was just a dominant, dominant for. Look, the Eagles offense certainly played well, but you know, the turnovers, the sacks they did, they just punished Patrick Mahomes. They punished that offensive line. I mean the, the, the interception, I think it was the, I don't think it was the gene interception. The second one.
Dave Richard
Maybe the Zach Bond is like the.
Jamie Eisenberg
10 yard where Josh Sweat just pushed Tuni into Mahomes as if he wasn't there.
Dave Richard
You know how many blitzes the Eagles had today?
Jamie Eisenberg
None.
Dave Richard
Yeah, I'm reading now. Zero. I mean I know at one point it was zero. They said it on the broadcast and I, I don't think they blitzed the entire game. I'm looking at a stat, a next gen stats tweet from 25 minutes ago. The Eagles did not.
Jamie Eisenberg
Yeah, I saw some, you know, comments on, on social media like, you know, all the Bills would have performed that and there was nobody beating Eagles today.
Dave Richard
No, this.
Jamie Eisenberg
Nobody.
Dave Richard
That's what really struck me when we did the show on Friday. Just kind of digging into the numbers and just how good they are, how much better they were than the CH and how not good the Chiefs were on paper. You know, they just were relying on a lot of Mahomes magic a lot of times. But I think the Chiefs actually the ironic thing is they, they were great against the run today and they did get some explosive plays. That was the thing that I really feared for them is they didn't have it, but they didn't have them when it mattered. It's 23 yards in the first half. They got some explosive plays late in the game. But I, you know, I look at. Okay, let me ask you this. First of all, do you know the top three point scorers in this game in ppr, six point per passing, touchdown.
Jamie Eisenberg
Worthy would be one quarterbacks too.
Dave Richard
Yeah.
Jamie Eisenberg
Oh, Worthy, Mahomes and Hertz.
Dave Richard
Hertz actually did outscore Mahomes. Mahomes had it. Yeah. Yeah. So worthy has scored 35 points, I think and yeah, eight, almost 36. Eight catches, 157 yards, two touchdowns, 50 yard catch, had some big plays. Jalen Hurts 31. He had a, he had 72 rushing yards and a touchdown. Patrick Mahomes 28. He only got 25 rushing yards. And remember we were talking about Xavier Worthy going over the rushing prop. I'm glad I did not look at that one because he did not have a carry in this game.
Jamie Eisenberg
Yeah, I, I know Dave gave this prop. I agree with him. You know, the rush attempts from Homes. I know he did factor in maybe some kneel downs. I only finished with four, so, you know, he was running for his life. He just didn't get past life scrimmage a lot when he was doing it. Yeah, I. Most rushing yards ever by a quarterback in a Super bowl, by the way, for Jalen Hurts too. Oh, wow. So he, he was, he was solid. You know, the interception was unfortunate, but it was almost like a punt, you know, so, yeah, I mean, you know, pretty, pretty solid game from all around. The, the one performance really that surprised me. And look, even Barkley had a good fantasy day with the 6 for 40 from a receiving standpoint, you know, so he ends up with 15.7 PPR points. I thought Dallas got her would be more involved. I really did.
Dave Richard
Yeah. Once again, they only threw 22 passes. Well, pick it through one pass. So 23 passes. And that was, that's pretty much how things went for the Eagles. This was a different scenario. This was just. They didn't have to throw. You know, it's not like Barkley was running away from everybody, but he still had 25 carries in this game. Yeah, and Devonte Smith, you know, I thought he might have a good game, but it came in a way that was completely unlike what I expected. The one touchdown he had was not against the slot cornerback. It was against. Watson was on a deep ball. I'm pretty sure he was lined up outside. But either way, I wasn't trying to say that the Chiefs weren't good. They are obviously really good, but they just don't measure up with this team. This team, this Eagles team is a lot better than the Chiefs defensive line. Destroy the Chiefs offensive line. And I hope, Jamie, I hope this motivates the Chiefs to upgrade offensively. Unfortunately, their best offensive lineman's a free agent. I, I, I don't know that they have to go get a wide receiver. Maybe Worthy's going to break out their guard. Trey Smith.
Jamie Eisenberg
Creed Humphreys, their best offensive one.
Dave Richard
Oh, okay. They have what's. Who the hell is the name of their guard?
Jamie Eisenberg
Tony.
Dave Richard
No, no, sorry. Trey Smith. Yeah. Trey Smith, he's the number two ranked free agent behind T. Higgins for pff. So he's a free agent, you know, now, and I hope they can keep him. But they, they got, they got to be better offensively. They got to be, they got to be more explosive. They don't throw downfield enough. They don't create big plays.
Jamie Eisenberg
Yeah, I'm not disagreeing with you at all, but I mean, you think about what they had coming into the season. They spent a first round pick on a wide receiver. They signed Marquis Brown, they had Rashi Rice coming off a pretty, you know, solid rookie season. They thought they're still going to have Kelsey back. They had one of the more explosive running backs. It all fell apart. Yeah, it all fell apart. I mean, you know, you, you, you lose players like that, it's amazing that they get to the point that they're at, you know, that just shows you how good Reed is, how good Mahomes is, how good Spags is, how good the defense is. You know, so having those guys now back next year, you know, we'll see what they do in terms of Marquis Brown. But you're getting this Xavier Worthy, who from week 11 on showed he could play in this league and be a pretty significant contributor. You know, I, I, I, I said something on, you know, x Twitter, whatever. Xavier Worthy is going to be fun next year. And I got some. Well, he did it against backups and you know, okay, you know, he's still, he's still been, he's been doing this for, for a couple of weeks now and has the potential to do this consistently every couple of weeks. And then Rashi Rice, we saw first two weeks of the season. We saw what he did last year. You know, so Kelsey back, Kelsey not back. They have speed and that's going to change things if they can protect Mahomes. Now that's the thing. You know, they've been trying to, you know, fix their offensive line for a few years now. You know, Juwan Taylor here, Malcolm Brown, you know, bringing guys and, and trying to find answers. You know, you got to hope that it works. And then they protect my homes. I, I mean, they're still going to be scary.
Dave Richard
Oh, for sure. Look, they're the Chiefs. They might end, they might go into the years the super bowl favorites. But what I wanted, but the point I'm trying to make is I know getting Rashid Rice will be great, but Rasheed Rice is a short area guy, does a lot after the catch this version of Xavier. You know, Xavier Worthy had four catches in the regular season of 20 or more yards. Do you know how many he had today? I honestly don't, but if he had at least one today and that would give him at least four in the playoffs because he went into the playoffs with three catches of 20 or more yards. We need to see the Chiefs throw the ball downfield more. I really think so. Because if people are going to hang their head there, people are going to make a bet on Patrick Mahomes as, you know, QB6 or something. Is that where we have him? QB6?
Jamie Eisenberg
Three is for me or is it, is it seven?
Dave Richard
That's six. If people are going to make a bet on my homes as QB6, he just, I just don't think he can dink and dunk like this. They've got to stretch the field a little bit more. Obviously Kelsey's not what he used to be. Rashid Rice coming off a big injury, we need to see this version of Xavier Worthy, the big playmaker. I think that would really help.
Jamie Eisenberg
But, but, but again, you know, we're talking about a rookie wide receiver.
Dave Richard
Yeah, about.
Jamie Eisenberg
Right. Rice's arc. Think about Tyree kills arc. You know, I mean, you know, this is what these guys do in, in, in this Reed system and they grow. You know, year two was looking like was going to be huge for Rice. Year two was huge for Tyreek Hill, you know, so I hope that's the case for him. Granted there's going to be some changes, but I also do think like, okay, now which version of the Chiefs do we get? Do we get. We just need to get to the playoffs. Do we get Mahomes on a mission? Do we get, you know, combination of both, you know, run game? How much does that matter? So there's, there's going to be a lot of intrigue, I think with this chief, chief team. And I don't think they're done adding to their offense again. You know, they, they've shown you when they need to go get somebody. Right or wrong, whoever the case may be, you know, okay, we need a receiver to go get Hopkins. You know, we need a receiver in the offseason to go get Marquis Brown. Like this is an aggressive front offense, front office, and you know, they may add another piece.
Dave Richard
We should talk a little bit more about the Eagles and we'll do that as we do this mock draft. We'll do a mock draft of just Chiefs and Eagles and see how it looks. Who's going to be. I'm curious to see who the second pick will be in this draft of just Chiefs and Eagles, and we're going to do that in a little bit. And devonte Smith, obviously, it's, it's. He's so frustrating because he's so good. There's obviously a world where DeVontae Smith could be just great. And I don't know if it's gonna happen. You know, he played two games this year in the regular season with a fully healthy Goddard and A.J. brown. I think that's it. I'm looking at the game log now. I think it was only two games and he did the nothing in those games. All right, we'll be right back. We gotta take a break. We'll be right back on Fantasy Football today. When we come back, we'll. We'll do a little mock draft here on Fantasy football today.

Yeah, sure thing. Hey, you saw that car yet?
Yeah, sold it to Carvana.
Oh, I thought you were selling to that guy.
The guy who wanted to pay me in foreign currency, no interest, over 36 months. Yeah, no. Carvana gave me an offer in minutes, picked it up and paid me on the spot. It was so convenient.
Just like that?

Yeah.

No hassle?

None.

That is super convenient.

These may apply.
Dave Richard
Do you win any super bowl squares?
Jamie Eisenberg
I've never done one in my life.
Dave Richard
What? Why?
Jamie Eisenberg
I don't know. No interest.
Dave Richard
So weird. Schaefer, how about you? You win any squares?
Unknown
No, no, I didn't even do any. The only one that I suggested is the. The 10. The tennis. You and Dan's tennis bet that it was what, six? Nothing. I said you guys should bet the Square to be 6 0, and it actually was 60 at one point. And I texted you guys, but, okay.
Dave Richard
The first set was 6 2. Second set was 6 0. Okay, like, give me a little bit.
Unknown
You could have hedged and did both, but.
Dave Richard

All right.
Dave Richard
Mock draft of only Eagles and Chiefs players. Saquon Barkley will be the first. Who's the second pick?
Jamie Eisenberg
We're doing this collectively.
Dave Richard
Yeah. We can talk it out.
Jamie Eisenberg
I mean, if we're, if we're talking 20, 25 fantasy value. It's Rashi Rice.
Dave Richard
I mean, I don't think I agree.
Jamie Eisenberg
Oh, no, I'm sorry. It's A.J. brown. Excuse me.
Dave Richard
Yeah, I don't know why I skipped on him. I skipped him too. It is AJ Brown. I don't think I agree with Rice being three. I think I'm gonna go Jalen Hurts three.
Jamie Eisenberg
I think that's just you and I having a different philosophy on how we draft players. So I would not take the fifth quarterback in my rankings ahead of a guy who I was a top 12 wide rece.
Dave Richard
I don't even. Wow. Top 12. I, I, I think that Xavier Worthy might be, could, could easily be a better player than Rishi Rice and could easily have a better season than Rishi Rice.
Jamie Eisenberg
You said something earlier, which I agree with and especially if Kelsey's gone short area target, you know, so I'm not going to be surprised when they both have big seasons.
Dave Richard
Yeah, I mean, this is one of those situations where if I'm doing rankings, I'm probably, I'm putting Hertz ahead the way I draft. I'm probably not taking Hurts and I'm more likely to have Rasheed Rice on my team. But I do think that I would have Jalen Hurts as the third highest ranked player among these two teams because he's so consistent and he's so good and there's really not much of a question mark there. They just have to throw the ball more. And I, and I'm pretty sure they will. It was like comically low their pass rate. I feel like they'll definitely throw the ball more. So I would take Hertz over Rashid Rice. I, I will have more Questions about Rice coming off the injury than you will. I think that's just where I'm at with these guys and. And major leg injuries. Even when they say they're 100, I don't really feel like they are. All right, so Barkley Brown for you it's Rice. For me it's Hertz. Who's four for you?
Jamie Eisenberg
Hurts.
Dave Richard
Yeah, I think it would have to be Rice. Okay. Yeah. So. So Rice hurts. Three, four, who's five?
Jamie Eisenberg
This is where it's interesting because now we have three guys. I think they're in a similar range of Pacheco, Smith, Devonte Smith and Xavier Worthy.
Dave Richard
I'm going Pacheco.
Jamie Eisenberg
If he's. If he's right and there's no one of significance there, I would agree with you. If they bring in somebody else or even bring back Kareem Hunt for that matter, I will probably go Worthy, Smith, Pacheco.
Dave Richard
Worthy, Smith, Pacheco. Okay, wait a second. You're putting Devonte Smith in this group?
Unknown
Yeah.
Dave Richard
I don't think he's earned it.
Jamie Eisenberg
I mean to say he hasn't earned over Mahomes. Yeah. Again, I'm not taking QB6 over guys that I think could still be top 24 at their position. I. I still think that. Look, Devonte Smith can have these type of games like he had today when everybody's healthy, not dominant, but still very, very good.
Dave Richard
I mean, it was one big catch.
Jamie Eisenberg
Okay. But it's four for 69 and a touchdown. Like that's a solid number two receiver with a guy. If his upside, then you factor in, well, A.J. brown misses time and Dallas Goddard misses time.
Dave Richard
Yeah, but when they don't miss time, he's a number three. He's barely a number.
Jamie Eisenberg
When's the last time in the last three seasons we haven't seen those two guys miss significant time.
Dave Richard
But when's the last time in the last two seasons that he's been worthy of that he's been a top 24 wide receiver? He hasn't been.
Jamie Eisenberg
We were drafting him as one.
Dave Richard
We were wrong two years ago. I know. We were terribly wrong. He was a bust two years ago. I don't want to.
Jamie Eisenberg
But he was coming off a very solid 2022 season when they went to the super bowl and he was a big part of it.
Dave Richard
And everything changed when Goddard got hurt because he was pretty quiet before Goddard got hurt. And then.
Jamie Eisenberg
And then what happened this year, I.
Dave Richard
Think I heard again. But he did. He didn't help devonte Smith have that many chances battling some Injuries too, I want to believe. Yeah. I mean, there's such obvious injury upside. All right, so you said, you said Barkley, Brown, Rice, Hertz, Worthy. What was it? Worthy Smith. Pacheco for you.
Jamie Eisenberg
Worthy Smith.
Dave Richard
Pacheco, Avery Worthy Smith. Okay, I'm gonna.
Jamie Eisenberg
I would consider them all in a similar range, man.
Dave Richard
I'm very different here. I would go Pacheco, Worthy, Mahomes, Smith, Kelsey Goddard. What do you got for the last three, which is Mahomes and the tight ends?
Jamie Eisenberg
Mahomes, Kelsey Goddard.
Dave Richard
Okay, so you're much more.
Jamie Eisenberg
Here's an interesting one. If Kelsey retires and they don't add anybody until like a day three tight end is Noah Greg, that guy?
Dave Richard
I feel like you have to draft him as a, you know, tight end, 12 or something like that just in case.
Jamie Eisenberg
So Noah Gray or Dalton Kincaid Gray. Noah Gray or Kyle Pitts?
Dave Richard
Gray.
Jamie Eisenberg
I'm. I'm with you.
Dave Richard
Yeah.
Jamie Eisenberg
Noah Gray or Goddard?
Dave Richard
Gray.
Jamie Eisenberg
Yeah.
Dave Richard
There's not a ton of upside with Goddard. He's.
Jamie Eisenberg
I mean, I. Look, again, I don't totally disagree. This is a guy that basically averaged 10 PPR points per game. Right. Kind of feels like that's where he was. He had some huge games in the beginning of the season when A.J. brown was out and he had some huge games in the playoffs when everybody was there and Brown was doing nothing. Packers big game against the commanders.
Dave Richard
Yeah. 10.4 points per game. And that I think. Let me see, is there one game, one game where he played five. So it's actually pretty skewed. He played 5% of the snaps in Week 5, had one target, no catches, only played 19 of the snaps in Week 18, but actually had 9.5 PPR fantasy points.
Jamie Eisenberg
So yeah, that was his first game back after four games.
Dave Richard
Right. He played that without Devontae Smith, without A.J. brown, also without Jalen. Hurts. But it's, you know, it's a lot of. Of kind of nothing games. But that 10 points per game is good. It's top 12 for a tight end, but it's nothing too special. He finishes his tight end 10 per game at 10.4-PPR fantasy points per game. He's another guy. Like if. If Brown and Smith are there every game, Goddard's gonna be probably waiver wire, but they won't be, you know, it probably won't be.
Jamie Eisenberg
I think the thing that we got to figure out though is again, the. The 2,000yard follow up season has not been great. And so if the run game is not working, where do they Go do they go whoever the number two running back is and give that person more carries? Like, is it a gain. Well type or is it an upgrade over that? So do they throw the ball maybe 25 times to now? 35 times? Because they have to.
Dave Richard
Yeah. No. Well, I don't think they'll get to 35, but I, I think 30 would be great. If they could just average 30 pass attempts per game. That would be, that would be really big. You know, I don't know exactly how many they averaged, but I'm guessing it was something like 27. Yeah. So I could look that up too. All right, final thoughts. My final thoughts from these two teams is that Xavier Worthy is going to be an extremely exciting player to draft. He might be, he might start to go too high, but I'm probably going to be a believer. I wish we had seen Worthy and Rice on the field at the same like the first three games of the season. What are you going to take away from that, from Worthy? But you know, I, I, I'm probably, right now I feel pretty high on Xavier Worthy. I think he's developing. We didn't even see what he's really good at in, in his rookie season and he had a strong year. So it's another reason why like I would draft him ahead of Mahomes is because if Mahomes has a big year, well, you'll, you'll get that with Worthy, you know, you won't completely miss out. So that my final thought is that he's going to be the, the most interesting, the most interesting man in the, in this fantasy universe of these two.
Jamie Eisenberg
Teams, of the sophomore wide receivers, because it's now looking like a pretty incredible class like we thought you got. Malik Neighbors is going to get drafted first, most likely. Brian Thomas Jr. Is going to get drafted second, most likely. There may be some conversation of McConkey or Marvin Harrison Jr. As the third guy. I think they're three and four in some order. Right?
Dave Richard
Yeah.
Jamie Eisenberg
Is worthy now five ahead of a Dunes for me is yes.
Dave Richard
If Keenan Allen is back, I think for sure. If Keenan Allen's not back and you got Ben Johnson taking over. That's a really good question. I, I think yes, I think he will be.
Jamie Eisenberg
You think of Dunes, they over Worthy?
Dave Richard
No, I think we're the over odunze.
Jamie Eisenberg
I think that, I think that's how it's going to get drafted now. Who's, who's going to end up being better?
Dave Richard
That's exciting. Yeah, that's awesome.
Jamie Eisenberg
And then you have, look there's another guy that I think we had to put in the mix. If Chris Godwin's gone, where does Daley McMillan go?
Dave Richard
I would guess after, but it's a great question.
Jamie Eisenberg
I mean, he closed the season as a monster, actually.
Dave Richard
I think he would go ahead of Odunze.
Jamie Eisenberg
I think so, too.
Dave Richard
Be very close, though. So that's what, six or seven receivers?
Jamie Eisenberg
That's seven.
Dave Richard
Let's go.
Jamie Eisenberg
Then you throw Bowers in there.
Dave Richard
Yeah. And then you'll have, you'll have some sleepers and you'll have a Keon Coleman sleeper. Yeah, that might be it. All right. All right, folks, I hope you enjoy the show. Hope you had a great Super Bowl. A little not too sleepy for work tomorrow. We will be back back on or on Monday. Most of you probably listen to this on Monday. Episode: Drafting Eagles and Chiefs in 2025 and a Super Bowl Recap!
Release Date: February 10, 2025
Hosts: Adam Aizer, Dave Richard, Jamey Eisenberg, Heath Cummings
In this episode of Fantasy Football Today, host Adam Aizer and analysts Dave Richard, Jamey Eisenberg, and Heath Cummings dive deep into the aftermath of Super Bowl 59, focusing on the performances of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. They explore the implications of the game’s outcome on fantasy football strategies, particularly regarding drafting players from these powerhouse teams in the upcoming 2025 season.
The discussion begins with an enthusiastic recap of Super Bowl 59, highlighting the dominant performance of the Philadelphia Eagles over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Dave Richard emphasizes the Eagles' control over the game:
