I know. Sell. Sell. Track your car's value with Carvana Value Tracker today. Welcome to fantasy football today Dynasty. I am your host Heath Cummings, joined once again by Dan Schneier. And we have a fantastic show for you today talking about dynasty, movers, rankings risers and fallers over the month of January and early February. What changed in the playoffs? Some of these things are playoff performance related. Some of them are just all of the. Like we've had a lot of news during these playoffs so some, some things changed because of that. But we, we can't start with anything other than giving the Philadelphia Eagles their flowers. Dan, what a fantastic performance. You know, I've been thinking about this a lot. Obviously for obvious reasons I, I'm not sure that there is a truly great team and, and they showed like that super bowl performance. One of the best performances I can remember by an individual team in the Super Bowl. A truly great team that had to overcome as many doubters like teams that win the super bowl often say. Nobody believed in us. But I might. Has any coach that's won as much as Nick Sirianni been doubted as much as Nick Sirianni has? Has any quarterback who's accomplished as much in five years as Jalen Hurts been doubted as much as Jalen Hurts? Has Saquon Barkley even came into the league as the Number two pick in the NFL. And all we did was talk about how a team shouldn't use a pick that high on a player like him because of the position he plays. Then the Giants couldn't ever win with him. I mean, just a fantastic performance. Vic Fangio got fired from the Dolphins last year. Like, it just goes on and on and on. So congratulations to the Eagles. Congratulations to all of those Eagles fans out there. Dan, what. What do you have to add as. As someone who's spent a lifetime hating.
A
The Philadelphia Eagles, it's not just going to overnight be happy for them. I mean, I am happy for them, I guess, but it was a rough Sunday for you and I, Heath, you especially. I didn't want to see the Eagles win a second Super Bowl. But the reality is, like you said, we've never seen a team doubted this much. And I think from a football standpoint, from a fantasy standpoint, I think about it like this. They have provided, at least in my mind, a different blueprint. It's not necessarily one that I think will be replicated because it's so hard and there's so many more variables, but they've at least given those teams that don't have one hope that you don't need one of those. And I know this is going to be controversial elite quarterbacks to win.
B
That is just like, I was hopeful. One of my favorite things that we do here on FFT Dynasty is call.
A
Him an elite quarterback.
B
Give Dan a chance to eat his own words. It doesn't happen very often. Dan has a lot of great takes, but occasionally there's a Trey McBride take that Dan must.
A
I have plenty of bad takes.
B
And like I went back.
A
You.
B
You'll remember this probably because I got skewered for it on Twitter four years ago, asking whether you'd rather have Jalen Hurts or Trey Lance in a Dynasty league. And everybody wanted Trey Lance because look what he could be. And listen, if you win more than almost any quarterback, if you go to two Super Bowls in your first five seasons, if you perform like he has in those two Super Bowls against spags who eats every other elite quarterback alive, I. I know people don't like stylistically the way that Jalen Hurts gets it done. But if you produce more yards, more touchdowns, more wins than the other quarterbacks around you, I don't know how he could be anything other than elite. He's also currently on a Hal of Fame trick.
A
That's fair. And I think you make great points. And I think one thing I really appreciate about his game. To me, he's not one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL, but I have a very high bar for elite quarterback. You need to be able to have a rhythmic passing game almost all the time, and I don't really see that from him. With that said, I agree that in both of their. In both the last two of the three seasons, Jalen Hurts played his best game clearly and by far on tape and broadcast in the biggest moment in the Super Bowl. And all the points that you just made, Heath, are a little funny to me because you're kind of describing a case that was made for Eli Manning. And I know you're not an Eli Manning guy, so I just think it's funny now how we see all the talking heads like Josh Allen can't get it done. Lamar Jackson can't get it done, Jalen hurts. And this is not you who I'm putting in this, but right, you know, the people we're seeing, the same people who said Eli Manning doesn't belong in the hall of Fame for beating Tom Brady twice in the two biggest moments of the NFL and beating Bill Belichick, the hardest defensive coordinator to scheme against, are also now taking it out on Josh Allen March. I think there's a lot of misconcept. I just think it's a very uneven argument when it comes to when we try to value quarterbacks. Me, you, whoever. It's a very difficult thing to do. Who's elite, who's not elite. I should reconsider it. At the very least, if I believe he's one of the, you know, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes tier. I should reconsider it, Heath, I really should. Because like you said, he came up biggest in the biggest moments and he looked good. He made great throws in this game outside the numbers. The back shoulder to A.J. brown, the one that was called back. I personally have a feeling that if this game was played outdoors, it would have been a lot closer, personally. That's my belief. But it wasn't. It's played indoors, and these are good conditions for everyone. And so, you know, look, I got to give credit to the Eagles, to Jaylen Herz. It's time to give credit. Saquon Barkley, he didn't really do all that much in the supernal. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I won't go there.
B
I will say, like, there are a few differences between Eli Manning and Jalen Hurts. Jalen hurts. Regular season, like production through the age of 26 is much more impressive than Eli Mannings.
A
I don't like to compare production error to error, so. But I do agree that he, even.
B
Relative to his era.
A
Relative. He was a better quarterback. Yes.
B
And Eli Manning had an incredible 40 run at age 26. The same age Jalen hurts is to win a Super Bowl. That was the only year that he won a playoff game in his 20s.
A
Yeah, yeah. No, look, and, and all this just goes back to the whole argument. We don't have to spend too much more time on this like team versus quarterback, team versus quarterback. Eli Manning never had anywhere near the team that the Eagles had this year or anything even remotely close. And a lot of quarterbacks won't get that. But that's the reality situation. You can only play with what you got.
B
So. Right.
A
I'll give him the credit if you want me to put him in that elite tier with Alan Burrow, Mahomes and Lamar. Give me a little bit of time, maybe I'll reconsider. I'm not quite there yet.
B
So we are on today's show mostly going to talk about the guys who have moved the most in the rankings. I will also say I did a 1 QB rookie mock yesterday and so a little later in the show we'll talk about that and I'll just kind of tell you how that went and then if you have, if you have any questions, anytime we have Dan on, I like to open up the chat. People want to get into the mind of Dan and so we'll give them an opportunity that will answer your questions at the very end of today's show. But first I have three questions for Dan and I actually changed the name of the segment. It's three very, very difficult questions for Dan. I don't know the answers to these questions and so I hopeful he can help us. Number one, how are we supposed to evaluate Anthony Richardson in either Redraft Dynasty or real life?
A
That's a great question. And I, I saw this on the rundown and I was like, you know what? This might give me a nice little off season project. Maybe I will go back and watch Richardson Tate because I think what's most important to to evaluating Richardson is looking within the Shane psych and scheme and seeing what and because you can get an idea based on watching a lot of tape what he's asking of the quarterback and seeing how far he progressed with given what Shane's asking him to do. For example, like is he going through this progression there? Is he understanding this concept? Is he getting the ball out Fast and quick game. How does the feet look? Are they the feet and the upper half, the lower half and the upper half. All these things that we knew he'd have to work on when he got to the NFL and we knew he's been working on how much is the progression there? Because we've already seen the Colts make a decision at some point where they're like, look, he doesn't give us the best chance to win. And they put in Joe Flacco. They quickly went back on that. But it's something they've done already and it's the NFL. And we're entering year three now for Richardson. So I don't think this leash is as long as maybe you would expect for someone who was drafted this high. You know, the good teams are the ones who are willing to move on, in my opinion, fast from quarterbacks. The bad teams are the ones who will do the Daniel Jones thing like the Giants sit for six years. So I don't think the Colts are locked in on Richardson. So to me, really, when it comes to the fantasy value, it is often from, and I'm speaking from a dynasty standpoint, strictly Heath, it is often tied to how long do I think his leash will be and how many chances will he get to start in the NFL. And the question we have to ask ourselves, Heath, is if the Colts move on, will another team give him a starting opportunity in the NFL? I have to watch the tape to really give you a good feel on it. But from the outside perspective, looking in, just looking at the numbers and how we track this week to week in fantasy, I don't think he's made enough of a progression as a passer yet. And as a, and by passer I just mean quarterback, like doing the job of quarterback. So I think there's still a lot a long way to go for him.
B
Yeah. My most recent rankings Update, he is QB14. I have no confidence, I would not argue that any with anybody who said he should be higher because of his upside because I do think his upside is as high as almost any quarterback in fantasy football. Or maybe he'd be lower because he's going to lose his job next year. Maybe he is. I will tell you, the three quarterbacks that I have ranked directly above him are Kyler Murray, Bo Nix and Drink Drake May. The three quarterbacks I have ranked directly behind him are CJ Stroud, Jared Goff and Dak Prescott. Now Goff and Prescott, almost impossible to compare because they're 30 plus and he's.
A
23 and these are for your dinosaurs, correct? Not Redraft.
B
Yeah.
A
One case I will make, and I think this applies a little bit more to Redraft, but I think you can make the case for Dynasty too, if you view this in this game. And I think it's important to do so. Sometimes it's like you're. You're trying to accrue assets and you're trying to gamble and you're taking risks. And I do believe that he will be priced around this point and in Redraft as well. He's not going to make the top 12, I don't think, at any point in August to a point where it's worth the gamble because you're not. Essentially, you're not like in Dynasty right now. You're probably getting him for a price. That's not what it. Near what it was last off season. Right. Where people were making crazy trades for Richardson. At that point, it becomes worth the gamble because you're. You're not giving up. Essentially. It's like way what's. What you're losing in that trade and what could be gained. And from a fantasy standpoint, all I think you really need to do, Heath, is get better as an actual quarterback. And I don't mean like, it's hard to explain, but I just like doing what the coach wants him to do to stay on the field long enough. Because if he's on the field for 17 games, he. We. We know that the floor is there. Look at Justin Fields two seasons ago, I believe it was, when we all ranked him low, like 18, 19. I'm talking redraft. And he had that crazy year, and there was no expectation for him to do so. And a lot of it was based on the rushing total. So we still know that that is there if he just gets enough snaps, enough reps. But that's been the problem. Year one was the injury. Year two was being benched, and then an injury toward the end of the year.
B
Question number two. Difficult.
A
Question number two, early one, I don't know how to value Richardson, Travis ETN.
B
Or Tank Bigsby as the lead back in Jacksonville.
A
This one's a little less difficult for me specifically, and I think those who have listened to me a lot on this podcast will know that. But I love, and I mean love Tank Bigsby for next year in Redraft and for Dynasty. You can get them really cheap right now. I mean, you look at some of the numbers before he first had an injury last year, Heath, and I think he was never quite the same after it just from watching him. But those numbers were unbelievable. I don't have them up with me. I wanted to find these, but I couldn't find the tweets. But he was like tracking top five enforcement tackles, yards after contact, all the advanced elite metrics we like. He was pacing Travis ETN in that regard and to the point where they started giving him more touches and more of a role than Travis etn. Then he got hurt. Now we have a new coaching staff in here, completely different system than Doug Peterson, one I'm really big fan of. With Liam Cohen. I think he designs one of the best run game in the NFL. Last year, Bigsby to me is the better runner. He's more explosive. He's better at understanding, in my mind, pacing and just understanding how to set up his blocks. Travis Etn was drafted by two staffs ago. @ this point, I think Bigsby's the guy. I don't think it's going to be, you know, he runs away with the job. We've seen that Liam Cohen likes to use three backs at times, but I think that running game is going to get going fast and I think Bigsby is going to be the lead back in that run game and specifically in the red zone. So I like him a lot for Dynasty.
B
Couple of things, just counterpoints because that was a pretty one sided answer and I'm glad, I'm glad that one of these was, was relatively easy for you. I, I don't know if this means anything or not, but when Liam Cohen was talking about all the pieces that they have in Jacksonville, he did say Travis Etienne's name before he said Tank Bigsby's name.
A
Okay.
B
The other thing is we saw how much Tampa Bay threw the ball to their running backs last year. Tank Bigsby has, in two seasons, 16 targets and he has caught eight of them. He has been pretty awful as a pass catcher in the NFL and I'm not sure he's been a whole lot better in terms of past protection. So I, in my Dynasty rankings, which are based on full PPR leagues, I have ETN at 21 and Bigsby at 23. But they're basically tied in value. It's like I said, the reason I gave Dan these questions is because I don't really know the answer. We do know that targets matter a lot more for fantasy production than Rush attempts do. So that would be the only counterpoint. I don't necessarily argue. I think Bigsby's a better rusher. We've seen teams more and more in the NFL Though not want to tip their hand as whether it's a run or pass play by who they have on the field. I think maybe one of the problems with Tank Bigsby is you kind of do that when he's out there. He's probably getting the ball on a rush attempt.
A
I think that's fair based on his track record so far. But he did have 51 catches in his last few years at Auburn, so I don't think he's a total non factor in the passing game. Sometimes you'll see like for example like Jonathan Taylor coming out of Wisconsin had like nine cat or something crazy and even he's kind of. Yeah, go ahead.
B
No, I think that's a good point and I think this is another regime change thing that could help him. I don't know if you remember or not, but if you'd go back and watch the film on the couple of targets that he got in his rookie season. I think four actually he caught one of them and I believe two of them turned into interceptions because they went off of his hands. And so the team was just like no, we're not doing that anymore. So maybe there's a little bit more patience now with what has happened in that regard. Last question. When everyone is healthy. Rashi Rice or Xavier Worthy as the wide receiver one in Kansas City.
A
Such a tough question. There's so much uncertainty I feel with this Chiefs team going into this next year. I'm sure you can speak to it more and I'm just meaning like where the direction of this offense is going to go. I mean they have a big issue. First of all, they don't have a left tackle and I don't know how they're going to get. I mean I assume what. What's their plan there at tackle? Do you know what they're.
B
I would guess it will involve the 31st pick in one way or another.
A
That's never good in my opinion because just expecting a 31st pick rookie tackle to step in is rare. Ramcheck did it for the Saints. Very few examples.
B
Well, you might be able to trade the 31st pick for the tackle, but.
A
I look at that like in it did hold them back in that game. And I, and I think about it though and I'm like I know it was garbage time but like see if you're worthy. Looks so good in that, in that super bowl. And he did what I expected him to do all year, stretch the field but he can also work underneath. I am just going to lean Heath on my evaluation of Both players coming out of college. And I loved Worthy more than I loved Rasheed Rice. Worthy, to me was someone who had this billing as a John Ross type. I've talked about this before, but when you actually put on the tape of Texas, it's like, wow, he's working in Breakers. Wow, he's doing the tough, dirty things underneath. I think we've seen a little bit of that his rookie year with the Chiefs. So I'm betting on the talent here. I'm betting on Worthy, but I think a strong case can be made that it's a bad bet based on just how dominant Rasheed Rice was the. The back end of last year and the beginning of this year.
B
I think what Travis Kelce decides could influence this question a lot because you could just move Rice into Kelsey's target share and that would work pretty well. As of right now, I have worthy as wide receiver 17 in Dynasty. Rice as wide receiver 18 in Dynasty. I would probably lean that the answer to this question is Rice. I just have a little bit of concern about his knee injury that is not quite as simple a fix as I maybe originally thought. And then a little bit of concern about, I mean, if he only plays eight games next year or 10 games next year, and Worthy gets that on ramp to being the number one for the first half of the year, is he just the number one for the whole year? So we'll. We'll see what the health is like, what the suspension is like, but really a difficult question. Both top 20 guys, though.
A
Let me ask you a question just to follow up on that really quick about as. I'm just curious, as we move forward, as somebody who follows it even more closely than I do, and this is one of my favorite teams in the NFL. I know it's weird to say because everybody hates them now, the Chiefs, but I love watching them. And I've always loved Mahomes. Is. This is like. Is Mahomes playing at the same level you feel that he's always played? And there's just other circumstances that have kind of held him back because to me, it just doesn't look like the same version of Mahomes that was throwing.
B
5K to me so early. Like throughout the season, I would say no.
A
Okay.
B
But every time they needed him to, he did. So it was like the first three and a half quarters he was not. And then, oh, there he is again.
A
He misses throws. He never used to miss from a. From a ball placement standpoint.
B
And then I think in the super bowl, it. We just saw like you don't very often see all time greats look like they see ghosts. But it happened a couple of times with Brady. It definitely happened with Mahomes. He just like you get in that situation where you feel like there's always two guys coming free and yet there's seven guys in coverage.
A
Right.
B
And there's not, there's nothing any quarterback can do in that situation. But the throws that I know, it doesn't matter. The game was over. It was garbage time. I'm not. That throw he made for 70 yards to Xavier Worthy for a touchdown, that was an absolute dot. Yes. I think it's all still there. It wasn't as, it wasn't as good a season as he's had.
A
Okay, here's the better question and that, that one doesn't help us for Dynasty or Fantasy. This one might do you see them going back to that style of offense at any point because it seems like they waited until the end of the super bowl, down a million to finally start opening it up a little bit. But that I've always in Dynasty kind of leaned toward like give me somebody tied to momes. Like I've drafted a lot of Rashee Rice, a lot of Xavier Worthy. But I ultimately now look back at these last couple season, I'm like is it was it made sense when Andy Reid was like opening it up with Mahomes? Does it still make sense with this conservative kind of offensive approach we've seen of late?
B
Yeah, I, I think like there were with Brady, like there were with Rogers during back when he was elite. Like there's going to be ebbs and flows. Brady had a couple of years where he threw for 28 past passing touchdowns like multiple times and then all of a sudden he throws for 50 or all of a sudden he throws for 5,000. I think these things just ebb and flow and like we're not going to talk about where he's ranked right now. I've got Patrick Mahomes at QB4. We're going to talk about the guy. I just moved ahead of him right after the break. Hey guys, have you heard of Gold Belly? B
You know, like the sneakers that make office hours feel like happy hour, the boots that turn grocery aisles into runways, and all the styles that show off the many sides of you from daydreamer to multitasker and everything in between. Because you do it all in really great shoes. Find a shoe for every you at your dsw store or dsw.com so some of these changes that we've got in the rankings are because of performances in the playoffs. And you could say that with Jaden Daniels. He had a lot more success against the Eagles Eagles defense than Patrick Mahomes did or because of breaking recent news and there hasn't really been enough of that for Jaden Daniels. But some of it is I just went through my early, early, early projections process. The quarterback projections are already on the website. Put those out on Monday through through the rest of this week. We'll get running back, wide receiver and tight end projections and those do have it's a bigger impact that they have in August than they do right now. They do have an impact on the Dynasty rankings. And I don't know how close at the quarterback projections that I sent you, Dan, but Jaden Daniels came out as QB1 and that sounds ridiculous except when you look at what he did as a passer and a runner as a rookie quarterback and know that most quarterbacks get better in year two and year three than they were as rookies and the expectation that the number two option next year is probably going to be better than Zach Ertz.
A
Good.
B
Gosh, we hope it is. Go get him a number two wide receiver. And so regardless, he's in that tier for me in the projections and he was for most of his rookie year in the in the 4 to 6 range at quarterback. He is currently my dynasty QB3 only Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson ahead of him, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts right behind him and those guys are all in the same tier. Is that too high, too low, or just right for Jaden Daniels?
A
I think it's, I think it might be a little too high and I'll tell you why. I think we tend to think that quarterbacks do get a little better in year two and three, but I don't know if that's true and I would actually like to take some time this off season when we're slow to do some Kind of study on this because just from you know, recency bias, it feels like it's been the opposite. With that C.J. stroud takes a step back. Even like lesser candidates like Daniel Jones and Davis Mills who flashed in rookie year became like nothing the year after. It's to me, from what I've heard from a lot of people talking throughout the NFL, it's like the opposite. It's once DCs get a whole off season and at least eight games to to take away the concepts rookie quarterbacks use. It becomes harder because a lot of what Washington did and this is not like unique to them. It's every rookie quarterback. It's lean on a lot of concepts, lean a lot of the same concepts in the passing game. Shroud. This was the case with Shroud and Slowik last year as well. And it works because you know, they don't have a lot of tape on it. They don't find a way to take it. They spend an off season, they take it away. The defense does things, they trick the quarterback into seeing fronts at pre snap that, that, that you know, rotations from the safeties post snap and things get a little more difficult. I could see that happening for Cliff and Jaden. This wouldn't be the first time, right. Like Cliff had that, that problem with Kyler Murray in Arizona. Things were looking great, they were going well. Teams adjusted to what the scheme was and it almost fell apart completely. I think Jaden Daniel is a better quarterback than Kyler Murray. I want to make that clear. And I think there is the possibility that and this happens with all the greats borough, you look at all the elites, they don't have that second year aggression. He may be that elite, honestly, so this may sound really dumb but I think there is that inherent risk that he could take that step back. So it may be a little bit high. And then from a dynasty standpoint, QB3, I like it, it's aggressive. But the main issue, again I've always brought this up. The main issue I had with Jaden Daniels didn't just go away after year one and it's that there is no history of quarterbacks sustaining long levels of play at sub 200 pounds. He may be an outlier. We've seen Derrick Henry as an outlier. Saquon Barkley is an outlier. There are plenty of special players who are outliers in the NFL. He very well may be that. But there is that risk factor that I want to bake in to to his dynasty value at least somewhat.
B
So I Wonder what his actual playing weight will be entering next year because he was able to, for the combine, get just up over £200, right?
A
Very fake 200.
B
Very. A very fake 200. But if you can get to a very fake 200, then you're not that far. Like, it's not like he was 175 pounds, right? And most guys, as you and I can testify, as you move through your 20s, you start putting on a little bit of weight just naturally, like food, just. I don't know about you, but I could not under any Circumstances get over £160 in high school. Obviously, now is a different story, but it didn't take very long after I got into my 20s, so it wasn't that difficult to get over 160 or 170 pounds. And so I would anticipate, especially with an. An off season in an NFL weight training program, I wouldn't be surprised if he is 200 next year. Just something to keep in mind because he wasn't that far away from it.
A
And I, and I don't. I think that's definitely possible. And I don't want to be like sitting here with you being like, he's got to get to this 200 magical number. I don't think it's necessarily that. I do think looking at his frame though, Heath, they're at six four with the, with the legs that he has, I don't think there's that much room to gain really, like, for his frame. Like, it's funny because you could look at Kyler Murray, right, And, and he had the ACL that was kind of just unlucky. He stepped wrong and it was non contact. But other than that, he's been pretty healthy for the most part. And I just think he has that. And same thing with Russell Wilson throughout his career. They just, they're, they're smaller, they weigh less than Jaden, but they have that thick lower base and it almost helps them. Jaynan Daniels doesn't look like he has the base to me. That really is ideal for holding up. But look, he could be an outlier. He avoid it. He does an amazing job, in my opinion of that already. So much better than he did at lsu, at least. And I'm talking about in the pocket. And when he's not, when he's breaking pocket, that's when he kind of gets a little reckless with it as a runner. But yeah, I don't want to use that against him, but I do want to factor that in a little bit.
B
We had DeSean Watson as the biggest quarterback faller since the start of January. And it didn't, wasn't actually that much because he was already pretty low. I had him QB27 coming into January. Obviously we got the news that he's probably not going to play next year. He is down to QB32. He's still not even 30 years old yet. But do you think it's just completely over? Is QB32 even too high for Desean Watson?
A
Great question. Well, I think the best thing that could happen to him is the Browns release him. And I think that's where it's trending. So it's, I mean, for his dynasty value, that's the best thing about them. So let's start there. And then he would need to join a situation that is essentially in my mind and this is how he could revive his value. Like the lion situation. That's how. That's the type of situation I'd really, truly believe he needs to join out. First of all, he's got to go indoors. And this is the thing with desean Watson. Like he played at Clemson, then he played at Houston with the Texans of Houston. He's never had like elite, elite arm talent. He's won with anticipation and accuracy and the willingness to make big throws into tight windows. Those are things that kind of all went away in Cleveland. I just, I think he's gonna need a really good situation. I would probably drop him even even further than that.
B
And I think the bigger problem is like so much of his success was what he could do with his legs, right? And like we've, we've seen it with somebody like Dak Prescott where he just kind of stopped running. I wouldn't, I don't know how much more we'll see. Desean Watson, good point as a running quarterback. So that, that is, it might be time to just sell low. Even still on desean Watson, one guy, I think that provides a pretty good sell high opportunity is my biggest riser. And I think we actually talked about this in January. DeAndre Swift, when Ben Johnson was hired. Is this a good thing because Ben Johnson runs one of the best offenses in the NFL? Is it a bad thing because Ben Johnson preferred to give so many more carries to Jamal Williams? There seems to be a little bit of pushback coming from the Johnson slash Bears camp that there's some sort of problem between him and Swift. Like it seems like, I think that they, they, they are at least on the same page. Now. Swift, when I went through the projections process again, I'm not Projecting him as a complete workhorse running back. I'm going to publish the full running back projections a little bit later this afternoon. But I do have him, right? I mean, right now there's really not much choice. They don't have a ton of extra draft picks. It's probably very possible that he's their lead back. He's my current RB18 for this season and RB18 for Dynasty was RB24 in January. Is that too high for DeAndre Swift?
A
I don't think so. Actually, I think I'm on the same page with you with Swift. He's a different player than he was earlier in his career. Now, I'd have to go back and watch the tape to really confirm that this year and things were really bad there. But the way I look at it, like, the Bears aren't going to be able to immediately overnight have an amazing offensive line. They're going to do their best to make progress on that this off season. That does. Trust me as a Giants fan, that doesn't always work. We've tried many of off seasons to improve the O line and the result sometimes is the same or about the same or at times worse. So what's a solution to that? If you're Ben Johnson, it's designing things for Caleb Williams to get the ball out of his hands fast and that could really be benefit to DeAndre Swift in the passing game. So why I'm really thinking I like Swift early this year is that I think his role in the passing game could take a nice evolution this year. It's not something we saw Caleb Williams do a lot of at USC or with the Bears. But. But with that said, if you're a coach and you know you have a battle line, it might be better just design things to get the ball out of his hands. So I'll see. I need to see how the entire thing works. First of all, I think the blocking, the, the run scheme is going to be bad. It can't be worse. You cannot have a worse run scheme than the one that Shane Waldron runs. So he's going to get a big boost there even without the offensive line upgrade. So that will help his game as well from an efficiency standpoint. So. And I want to think the Bears offense can't be as bad as it was this year, Heath. So there's a lot of things working in his favor. I don't think the price you named, it's. I don't think it's baked in already all the things we mention. So I do like him as a slight win.
B
So when we look at there's three running backs and I said that Swift is currently my RB18. There's three running backs who will be 26 years old that are ranked between RB13 and RB24 in my updated rankings. A lot of the guys are either way younger or it's the McCaffreys and Henry's of the world that like only contender roster. These 26 year old backs are kind of unique. Chuba Hubbard, DeAndre Swift, Travis Etienne. How would you rank those three in Dynasty?
A
I think I would go Hubbard, Swift, ETN. Even though ETN is the youngest, he's, you know what, I, I think I'm too low on etn. I'm gonna go, I'm change that to Hubbard ETN Swift. And why is Hubbard one despite, you know, having the least fanfare coming out of the draft, even though he was had some really nice production in college. It's the NFL tape. He's really good player at the NFL level tube hover. He just understands in my mind how to get in and out of little spots to get him like how to set up the blocks and how to get get the run game or I shouldn't say this, how to stay in sync with the run game. That's how I want to describe that as he's really in sync with what they do. I can't say the same about ETN or Swift. In a lot of ways it's almost the opposite. They rely on their athleticism and I think that's something the Panthers have appreciated. They resigned him and obviously now with the Jonathan Brooks second major injury late in the year, we could be looking at what, 10, 15, 10, 12 games of Hubbard just as a pure workhorse with an improved offense as Bryce Young has taken this step forward. There' lot to like about Hubbard not just for Redraft but for Dynasty.
B
He came out as my number 11 running back in the Redraft rankings when I did the projections. So yeah, I definitely agree. I do want to say one thing. You said you, you made the choice. Oh, I'm too low on etn. You put ETN over Swift because of the age difference? I, I, I wasn't sure because I thought maybe I had it wrong in my system. But I, I'm confirming Travis Etienne is 12 days younger than DeAndre Swiss people.
A
Oh wow. That's crazy. I thought he was much younger than Swift.
B
Okay, so we're gonna go back to Swift over ETN I assume?
A
No, no, it wasn't just the age Thing I think about etn, he still has really good metrics from a force missed tackle rate standpoint. And that was true of his days at Clemson. I still think he's a talented runner. I just don't really know. I don't think Jacksonville's the best fit for him.
B
So there is a guy who in my January ranking, so I kind of elevated up because I felt like everybody was higher on him than I was. And then I went through the projections process and I didn't like him again and so I've dropped him. Maybe you can just sell me on being too low on this guy. Another 26 year old running back, but he's not in my top 24. He's barely in my top 34. Brian Robinson Jr. Falls from RB28 to RB33.
A
That's an interesting case. Obviously I've loved his tape, I've loved his talent. But the role seemed to get worse as the year went on. From a fantasy standpoint, there evolution of that Washington offense as we move forward with Cliff Kingsbury and Jaden Daniels, I think it'll be more pass heavy like you said, especially if they do make the play. I think they will and make it bring in a big pass catcher. So I think that's a fair ranking of, of just the situation as we move forward. I do like the talent though.
B
Some guys who are older than him that I have ranked higher than him. Tony Pollard, Ramandre Stevenson, free agent Naji Harris. Would you take Brian Robinson over any of those guys.
A
Except for. Wait, name them again. Sorry.
B
That's okay. It's. I've got Tony Pollard, all them except.
A
For Pollard, who I like more than him.
B
You like Pollard more, you take him over Stevenson over Naji Harris. I'm very interested to see what happens with Stevenson this year. I think Stevenson could get another boost. And listen, Harris is one of those guys that if he lands in the right spot. What. What if Ben Johnson decides. You know what? Nobody wanted Naji Harris. He's pretty cheap. Naji Harris looks like a pretty interesting Jamal Williams comp. Let's bring him onto our team and give him 17 touchdowns this year. I could see Harris's value going. He's right around my RB32. I could see him inside the top 24 running backs when we get to August, if he gets to the right landing spot and I could see him outside of the top 40. If the NFL is just like, nah, we don't really aren't that interested. Tyree Kill was a guy who rebounded in The February rankings. He was my wide receiver 35 in the dynasty rankings, moved back up to wide receiver 30 now. An interesting case because I do kind of have a rule that sometimes gets proven wrong, but I do kind of have a rule that if a 30 year old wide receiver looks like he's in decline, believe him. Now we've what we've got. What we found out since the end of the season was that Tyree Kill was playing with a broken wrist and Tyree kills. It wasn't really a trade demand, but it was kind of like a trade demand. Seems to have gone away and he's making nice with the Miami Dolphins. Wide receiver 30. Dan puts him just behind a D.J. moore, a Terry McLaurin, a D.K. metcalf, just ahead of Devonte Adams, Chris Godwin, Brandon Iuk. Does that sound about right for you for Tyreek Hill?
A
I think it's fair. I think obviously it just depends where you're at as a team. You could, if you're a team playing for the championship, you can make, you can probably, you know, move him a little higher. Just give up more capital to acquire him or value him higher. I wonder what's going to happen this off season with Miami. For a lot of reasons, like if you're McDaniel, you'd probably have to go back to the tape and be like, look at the things that we did right in this offense for years and then we tried to do a different offense this year. What were the reasons for us having to do that? Is it because this is the new reality with TUA and you got to get the ball out fast or is it because there were issues on the offensive line? I'm hoping it's the latter. And they were issues on the offensive line they can fix because they need to get back to that style of offense that's vertically challenging you at all times. Then you can snap off an in breaker Tyree Kill over the middle of the field and hit him for 15. He has so much space and so the offense to me is the biggest factor for his fantasy value.
B
And I think like I almost put Jono Smith in the tight end section, but it's a similar argument just in reverse. Just in reverse with him. Because if Tyree Kill rebounds to what he was, a top five wide receiver in fantasy, John O. Smith's probably not going to be anywhere close to what he was last year, a top five tight end. I mentioned a couple of guys that I currently have. Tyreek ahead of Chris Godwin falls from wide receiver 29 to 35. Brandon Ayuk falls from wide receiver 31 to 39. Now I, I will say when it comes to Iuk, I think I have almost for his entire career been lower on him than consensus and I've maybe just been bailed out by circumstances, by injuries. But now he's like in his prime entering his age 27 season and I don't think we can expect him to be a fantasy starter next year coming off of that injury.
A
Well, I'm much higher than you on Ayuk. I know it's what you said is true. Maybe for next. I'm speaking more dynasty, by the way, just down the line. I know for, you know, with the year off, the ACL will probably be better the year after next. But his fit in that system is so perfect. The way that Shannon runs that offense, it's better than Debo's always has been. He's a great route runner and that helps him on those. And the whole Shannon offense is like intermediate in breakers and that helps him on those. And so I still think he's, he's, he's the, he's like the best fit for that system. Also for Brock Purdy and his skill set as a passer. Break off the in breakers, break off the outbreakers, he runs them both really well. So I like him from that standpoint. And he's still just 27. I'm a little higher on him. I guess I should be a little more concerned next year. For me, the one you name that really stands out is Godwin. Like I am going to be way lower on consensus with Godwin. The way I look at it as another major injury for Godwin for a guy that was not winning with athleticism in the first place. And if they, if he does lose just that one half step or step from, from what he had, it could be we could be looking at like an Alan Robinson type rest of his career.
B
Well, I think, I think Godwin's really interesting because like it was two years ago, right. That he was coming off of the ACL.
A
Yes.
B
And entering his age 27 season, similar.
A
Right.
B
Had shown us like the, the sky high ceiling. But there's like how. What's he going to be when he comes back? And we got about half a season where he was almost unplayable.
A
Right.
B
And then we got a half of a really good season and then we got another injury. And so yeah, I, I think with iuk, you are. I always look at these things from. Okay, who would rather have Brandon IUK on their Roster a team that's a definite contender next year or a team that's a rebuilder next year. I don't know what the answer is. Like if I'm a contender, Ayuk's not the guy I'm necessarily prioritizing. I don't know if he's gonna help me win a championship next year.
A
I don't like buying low on him. You know, if, if you're a rebuild, more of a rebuild team and that.
B
Might be, that might be the angle to take. It's just that if you're doing that and you're thinking he's going to be better next year, well, you should definitely be buying low because you might be buying a two year window of Elite production. And then he's 30.
A
Yeah. So.
B
Yeah, really. And the final thing about that is like with the 49ers, Iuk's most dominant seasons, he had 114 targets in 17 games and 105 targets in 16 games.
A
It's all efficiency based.
B
Yeah, it, it's all like major, major efficiency based.
A
And so he did have jumps from a volume standpoint when Debo was out. And I don't think we expect Debo to be a member of that team much longer.
B
It does seem like that's the direction it's moving. Fine. One final wide receiver before we get to a couple of tight ends. I don't think we'll get to the rookie talk today, but we will answer a couple of your questions. If you're watching on Twitter, go over to YouTube to ask the question in the chat and we'll get to that today. If you're in the right now, be a good time to fill the chat up with those questions. Christian Watson, another guy I've mostly been lower on, suffered the devastating injury. We hope that at some point we get to see a healthy Christian Watson, but he fell all the way to wide receiver, 94 in my rankings. Do you have any hope of a buy low for Christian Watson?
A
I do, but remember, I am resident Christian Watson lover. On this podcast besides Jacob Gibbs, we, you know, this is my first baby that I found on beyond the Box Score. Love this tape. At North Dakota State I, I was hopeful Heath, that, you know, he said in the off season he had some weird surgery to shave down his hamstring and he was gonna, or whatever body part that was and he was gonna hopefully be healthier and he's running evenly and I feel like the injury he got this year was more bad luck. Obviously it's an acl it's non contact, but you know, we're looking at players 25 coming off a major injury on a team that didn't ever factor feature him the way we wanted. Like for some of us that were hopeful. Jacob, for example, it was, wow, look at his numbers prior to this year in the red zone and how many targets he got. He is their weapon in the red zone. He wasn't the red weapon in the red zone at any point this year, so. And then he's just. They haven't figured out a way to utilize him on in any of their rhythmic passing game. It's really just those deep shots. So what are we looking at? It feels like we're looking at like a, like a Will Fuller type prospect almost. And those don't tend to to pan out for Dynasty.
B
And I, I think like we're kind of at a crossroads for Green Bay as well. We've talked about like what direction the Chief's going to go, but that Malafor has been very insistent that he just hates the idea of a number one wide receiver, which is terrible for Christian Watson. But what might happen is that he decides, you know what, we should have a number one wide receiver in a year that Christian Washington's not necessarily available. And so then they go get a real number one wide receiver and Watson doesn't necessarily get that opportunity. I, I would send a 2025 third for Christian Watson.
A
Yes.
B
I would not send a 2025 second completely.
A
I think we're aligned entirely on that.

Minimum purchase required Two tight ends to talk about and they moved in opposite directions and actually passed each other while they were doing it. Two ships passing in the night Theo Johnson from tight end 17 up to tight end 13 I was excited about Theo Johnson coming into the NFL. He didn't do anything last year to take away that excitement. I am expecting that they are going to have better quarterback play in 2025. I'm ex very, very hopeful that it's going to be Jameis Winston because there'd be nothing more fun than a season of you and Adam Mazer processing the experience of Jameis Winston as your starting quarterback. The hope and the disappointment that comes at the same time from that. But what what you you watched more Theo Johnson than anybody at fft. I'm certain of it. What were your takeaways of Theo Johnson? Is is tight end 13 too high in Dynasty rankings?
A
I don't think so. So first of all, I want to make it clear and because we have the proof and the receipt to back it up, we did a dynasty show probably 15 months ago at this point where I said I had a surprise tight end too and it was Theo Johnson. This was months before the Giants draft him. So I want to make that clear. It's not not because the Giants drafted him and it's the movement skills. It's the insanely freakish athletic profile that compared to Jimmy Graham on an RAS score. Relative athletic score standpoint and what I loved about his rookie season, Heath, is that it was really slow to start. He was clearly somebody out there who they are like throwing into the fire, playing a ton of snaps. He's not playing fast. He doesn't really know where to be. But as the season went on, things changed. He caught that long touchdown from Daniel Jones just before he was Bench forgetting which team, the home game, I'm forgetting which game that was now, stupidly, but it was someone. It was a 40 yard touchdown. And then after that you started to see him just like work the intermediate middle, work the middle field, have some. Right before his injury, he made an explosive play after the catch where he's like leaping defenders bouncing through people. You saw what the Giants saw and what people who had him as tight end too in the draft saw flashes of. Now, can you put that all together? That still remains to be seen. But one thing we know is they really believe in him. Like they played him almost 100 of the snaps or 85 of the snaps as a rookie who was clearly, clearly a raw player that they knew coming in. That shows their level of belief in him. So I think, you know, half the battle for, for tight end is just getting snaps and getting targets. He's going to have that opportunity and he brings that athletic profile with him. A lot will depend on what you said at the start though. Like, will they actually improve their quarterback play this year. I think James is my favorite free agent target as well, besides Rogers, who is a controversial one that a lot of Giants fans are not happy that I'm in on. But I don't care. And for me, the real thing is, is look at what Jameis did for New Joku, for Tillman, before his injury for Judy. Even Eli Moore was ripping off explosive plays once. Like Jameis will challenge intermediate, deep, middle of the field. He'll force defenses to cover deep and open up space in the middle. And he throws an anticipation which I think 80 of the NFL quarterbacks don't do a good job of. So it depends if they can get a quarterback like that. And pretty much I would love to.
B
See Aaron Rodgers and Brian Dable and post game press conferences after losses. That would be a lot of fun.
A
Who can throw the football? Heath?
B
You know, I, I know this whole concept of like, like the problem is that if that happens, then all of a sudden Malik Neighbors is the wide receiver, three behind Devonte Adams and Alan Lazard. That's no good for Malik Neighbors. I do not like that at all. The tight end who fell just a little bit and it's just, it's Isaiah likely. Yeah, it's just a reminder that when you factor in projections, the idea of what Isaiah likely might be gets turned back into the reality.
A
Right.
B
Of what can you project for him in an offense that throws the ball 450 times? And has Mark Andrews and the team really rallied around Mark Andrews after his disastrous playoff drops, I fully expect that both Andrews and Likely are going to be on the Ravens next season, which means you've probably got at least one more year that you have to wait for. Likely to be a must start fantasy tight end in a vacuum. If it didn't matter who was in front of him. I think Likely is an easy top 12 tight end, but res of right now he falls from 12 to 15. Do you agree Theo Johnson over Isaiah Likely?
A
I agree Theo Johnson over Isaiah Likely. But likely is actually one of my favorite buys in dynasty right now for reasons you kind of just went over. The first being, yes, Mark Andrews is on the team next year, but the year after he's a free agent and it seems highly unlikely they're going to bring him back just given the age at that point, the position and their cap situation. And then with the, with the pass, you know, the pass breakdown situation. How much longer do we have of Derrick Henry at this point? Is he going to be doing this in 2026? He might. He's a freak of nature, but I don't know. So what I'm seeing is a really talented player who's shown crazy levels of fantasy production on small sample sizes tied to Lamar Jackson with the player ahead of him likely to move on after this year, no pun intended, and then the run and the actual offense to evolve in a different way once Derek Henry leaves this football team. So yeah, for redraft I don't have much faith, but it may be wait even longer because his value could tank even more. So but you can get him really cheap right now and I think it's like one of the few upside plays at the position that you can buy cheap right now.
B
Let's say you have Jake Ferguson. Ferguson or Likely.
A
I think I'm taking Likely for the upside.
B
Okay, we already said Theo Johnson over him. Jatavian Sanders or likely.
A
Likely.
B
Kyle Pitts or likely.
A
Oh God, I don't want to ever be asked another question on Kyle Pitts. It's, it's sadly for me somehow Kyle.
B
Pitts and, and I don't think I'll.
A
Ever quit this guy.
B
You have to make the decision right now, today, not knowing anything about next year. Travis Kelsey or Isaiah. Like likely.
A
Oh, I'll take Isaiah Likely. I think he's done.
B
Yeah, I mean I think if he comes back, you should probably expect him to be the borderline top fire tight end he was last year. He did outscore and that just shows.
A
The position more so well, but it.
B
Shows the disappointment of the guys who play the position right, like he out. Mark Andrews is standing in Isaiah Likely's way. Travis Kelsey outscored Mark Andrews last year.
A
Right.
B
Sam Laporta is the tight end three for everybody in the future of the position. Travis Kelsey in this terrible. He's washed season, outscored Sam Laporta last year.
A
We do. Yeah, go ahead. No, I was gonna say even Kyle when we were doing our rankings and Jamie does a piece right after the season we're ranking top 12. I was like, oh my God, who the heck can I get into my top 12? And I think I had pits at like tight end 12. Like I, I Vanix. Like, who else do you put in there?
B
Yeah, that's. It's not a good look. We've got a couple questions for Dan and I'll. I'll throw my opinion in as well. If you're a contender, would you move Rashi Rice this off season? Worried about the injury and the suspension?
A
If you're a contender, you're probably moving him for like a win now type player. I like that idea for sure. I think it's not just like the suspension and the injury. It's to me, the uncertainty of that passing game moving forward and the fact I think Worthy is a better player.
B
So if you could turn Rashi Rice and a second into A.J. brown, would you do that?
A
Yes. Oh, yeah.
B
What about Rashi Rice for. We mentioned him earlier. Tyreek Kill.
A
Yeah. If as a contender, I would do that. Terry McLaurin, definitely as a contender, I would do that. Yeah, there.
B
There's some targets for you. Thomas, we got another question one day.
A
By the way, before we do this, Heath, I will say this and we'll get into this question one day. I want to have a long conversation with you. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cut you out. No, about rebuilding and the actual value of rebuilding teams. Because all of my teams that I've tried to rebuild on seem nowhere close to competing. And I'm now of the belief that that picks are not as valuable as people think they are in dynasty. But this is for another day because I shouldn't have cut you off in the middle of the question. I apologize.
B
That's okay. That's okay. How possible is it that the Bears draft Genti at 10 and it's him and Swift?
A
How is it possible that the Bears.
B
Is it possible?
A
Oh, is it possible? That's what I'll say. I would, I would consider it highly unlikely that the Bears, with that offensive line situation, spend the top 10 pick at running back.
B
What do you think is too, like we talked about at the beginning of the show, Saquon Barkley. It was a mistake to draft him that high. What? Ratchen Genti is a generational prospect at running back. We all agree on that. What is too high for Ashton Genti this year?
A
For. For reject we're talking about or for Dinos?
B
No, for an NFL team in the NFL draft.
A
Team. Oh, I missed that. I don't personally think Saquon Barkley's year really proves anything from a draft standpoint.
B
Right.
A
So like, too high, I guess for me would be anywhere in the top 10. Late one. I can do it.
B
So 11, 12, 13. You're. You're okay with that?
A
Okay with it. I don't love it.
B
Right. Would you rather have Kyron Williams or James Cook on your Dynasty team?
A
Oh, I like that question. That's a tough one. I would prefer James Cook, but I'm the low, low man on the totem pole.
B
And Chiron, it's funny because, like, volume over everything, that is the thing that determines how good you are in fantasy. And I think we should have zero doubt in 2025 who's going to get more volume, Kyron Williams or James Cook? I think it's much more likely that Kyron Williams leads the NFL and touchdowns next year than it is James Cook again, if.
A
If Stafford's still there. Yes, there's some rumors that Stafford might be on the move. Who knows if that's true? But I also think volume over everything is true if you're on a suitable offense. Like Naji Harris got a lot of volume this year and it went nowhere.
B
Right.
A
The minute Stafford retires, what happens?
B
That offense, I would assume they just go get Sam Darnold, but I don't know that for sure. And maybe Sam Darnold wouldn't work in that offense. I think he probably has shown that he would work in that offense. I have Kyron higher. He is a top four running back for me. I am done doubting him. He just. All he does is put up points and he's still just 25 years old. But I understand and I love James Cook and he's also a top 12 dynasty running back. For me. They're both good. I'd go Chiron. Dan would go James Cook. Last question from Jordan. Half PPR. I'm sitting on Ken Walker, Christian McCaffrey, Ramandre Stevenson, Jonathan Brooks, Taije Spears and Jerome Ford. By the way, Jerome Ford, somebody who's sneaky by, I think Because Nick Chubb's not technically on that roster right now for next year. Yeah, they have a lot of holes to fix. I'm in position to draft Genty and Hampton.
A
Wow.
B
Who would you try to sell and upgrade elsewhere?

I like the idea of selling Walker right now. I really like the idea of selling Walker out of that team. Look explosive player, really talented. Just don't know necessarily like if we're ever gonna get what we expect out of him on a consistent basis given the injuries. And just kind of like the fact that Charbonnet is behind him and does some things in the run game that, that Walker can never do based on his style. So that would be my play.
B
So I'm not selling Ford or Spears. I don't think. I think it's a bad time to sell Brooks. Yes, I, I am very, very open to selling Christian McCaffrey if somebody views him as a surefire top five running back next year. Like if you can get one of these contenders to like they think Christian McCaffrey is the final piece to going and winning a championship. I'd be happy to do that. I, I am really, really nervous about McCaffrey heading in, well, forever now in Dynasty. And I agree with you. Like if you can sell high on Ken Walker, that's great. I'm afraid his value seems to have taken a hit when Zach Charbonnet looks so good.
A
Right.
B
And like now maybe you can't. You should be able to get at least a first for Ken Walker, shouldn't you?
A
I don't think so at this point. You think you would get a first back for him? I doubt so.
B
So would you sell him for just a second round pick?
A
I would probably be looking to sell him for a talented receiver. I like that hasn't gotten off to a hot start in his career.
B
Okay, that's.
A
That's very open ended. Let me know.
B
It's very specific, but I'm just trying to. Now, of course I want to put a name on it.
A
If I could do like here's an example of what I would love to do. Walker and I don't know if you could do it straight up, but the core being Walker and Romo Dunesay, that would be something I would love to get going. And maybe you have to give more obviously there you give Walker and a two or Walker in a three even. But I would love to get odunse for Walker type thing.
B
Outstanding job as always, Dan. Thank you to everybody who sent in your questions. Thank you to Thomas. We didn't get to the rookies today. We will get to the rookies a lot in the next couple and very, very soon. I've got some guests coming on just specifically to talk about rookies, so we will talk to you on Friday.
