quarterbacks rankings and how that has changed since free agency began. Right now on FFT Express. And welcome everybody. I'm Adam Azer with Jamie Eisenberg. Jamie, which quarterback moved the most in your rankings based on free agency or trades?
Jamie Eisenberg
I'll go one step further that since the offseason, the quarterback that's moved the most is Justin Herbert with the addition of Mike McDaniel. So he went from right around 12 to top five. So he's my fifth quarterback. Really excited about Herbert from free agency or off season moves, trades. It was probably Kyler Murray, you know, from outside the top 15 to 13 right now for me. So between him and Malik Willis, I think just getting the chance to start for the Vikings and then the chance of Malik Willis being now the starter for the Dolphins and probably the other guy who's moved up, you know, about four or five spots was Bo Nix. With the addition of Jalen Wall. I didn't really have much interest in Bo Nix. I thought he was, you know, he's certainly proven to be a good fantasy quarterback, but when you start to get to that number two range, like I look for the most upside and now I think Nick's, with the addition of Waddle, definitely you got, you can make a case that he has, you know, significant, significantly more upside than he did clearly before getting Waddle because this is his best receiving core that he's had in his two years as a starter.
Adam Azer
Yeah, unfortunately, what's good for Bo Nix is bad for Malik Willis and we're excited to see Malik Willis get a starting job with Miami and then they trade Jalen Waddle away. So I don't know, I got. Is he a must draft guy in a 1 QB league? Malik Willis?
Jamie Eisenberg
I don't know if he's a must draft guy. I think when you start to look at what your quarterback, you know, situation looks like with your fantasy roster. I almost said quarterback room, but what your quarterback looks like with your fantasy roster, you know, do you need somebody that has a lot of upside? Because the downside for Malik Willis is evident. You know, he doesn't take a step forward as a passer, doesn't run as much as we want, and we're talking about a guy that may have a couple of weeks where he's 23, 24 points, but really, for the most part, it's hovering around that 15 to 16 point per game range and that's just awful. So I, you know, he's so different than Tua, you know, not to compare them and not to compare their situations. Tua led the NFL in passing yards in 2023 and barely was under 20 fantasy points per game. Like you need to be pretty special to be an elite fantasy quarterback, a mustard fantasy quarterback, a dominant fantasy quarterback, and he just doesn't have those weapons to support that. He definitely could do a lot of damage with his legs, but that's just a big ask. So he's a late round dart throw. I think in the case of Kyler Murray as we made the case or Heath made the case for on our full length episode on Monday as as one of his favorite sleepers like you can see it, you know, you this is a guy that's got a track record of being a great fantasy quarterback at times and now he's in arguably his best situation that he's ever had and certainly if Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, TJ Hawkinson bounce back because of Kyler then Kyler's numbers will benefit immensely. So I'd much rather have Kyler Murray than Malik Willis, which was not necessarily the case before Jalen Waddle was traded. I thought there was a chance Malik Willis could be similar to Kyler because of his rushing upside.
Adam Azer
And I don't know that we should sell this Bo Nick short with this Waddle trade. I mean it is a really big deal. It could potentially because as bad as Malik Willis as Bonix kind of seemed last year for fantasy, I think he was a little bit of a bust, kind of disappointing. He still was something like QB13 per game. He still had some very good games in there and he still rushed for more than 20 yards per game. So you know, how would you compare him with let's say like Bo Nix vs. Dak Prescott, Brock Purdy, that group,
Jamie Eisenberg
I think Purdy's a fair comp. I'd rather have Dak, you know, Dax track record, Dax receiving core, everything that, that Dallas offense and team, you know, I think looks like, you know, points to Dak having another good season and a little bit higher of a ceiling than, than, than Bo Nicks right now. But you know, again those are the type of quarterbacks that you're looking for late. So I think once you get past the, the guys I would consider to be the high upside plays. So Justin Herbert, Jackson Dart, Jaden Daniels, Jalen Hurts, Caleb Williams, Trevor Lawrence, you know, those young guys or you know, somewhat proven guys that you know can run and have the chance I think to you know, obviously take a step forward. Then I think you look at that next tier of guys which for me is Dak Prescott, Matthew Stafford which are not going to do anything with their legs but you know, could be in, in the conversation for most passing yards and most passing touchdowns. Stafford coming off an MVP season, Brock Purdy I think has the 49ers have done a good job reshaping that receiving core. You know, so Juwan Jennings, Brandon Ayuk out the door and here comes Mike Evans and Christian Kirk and maybe a healthy George Kittle are healthier than we expected. So Purdy's certainly right there with those guys. Kyler's now with those guys and I think Bo Nix belongs with those guys, you know. So Baker Mayfield is is there as well. Jared Goff is still there as well. So you know, if you miss on the position, you're going to be fine. I think taking two late round picks as long as nobody else is taking two quarterbacks earlier in your draft in a one quarterback week.
Adam Azer
Okay, I'm sorry, we're going to take a break. I'm going to ask you about other quarterbacks who were affected some way by free agency after this. We'll go rapid fire when we come back on FFT Express avoiding your unfinished

All right, so I'm putting together the list here of quarterbacks who add or lost something significant. It's going to probably be incomplete but we'll do our best. Jackson and just tell me real quick like value up, down the same slightly up, way up whatever. Jackson dart getting Isaiah likely but losing Wandell Robinson.
Jamie Eisenberg
Yeah, I think up it's not just getting Isaiah likely, it's getting Malik neighbors because he didn't have Malik neighbors for all of his run last year and he's going to I think be among the better running quarterbacks. I don't think the injury concern will necessarily completely negate his rushing potential. So I think you give him likely, you give him neighbors back, you give him a better head coach overall. I don't know if a better coordinator you know the the jury's still out clearly on Matt Nagy, but love the setup for Jackson dark.
Adam Azer
How about Drake May getting Romeo Dobbs but losing Stefan Diggs?
Jamie Eisenberg
Yeah, I think that could end up being a wash. I know Diggs resume obviously much better and Dobbs has a lot to prove if he's going to be the only addition that they make at receiver. But May will be among the the better running quarterbacks. Certainly the top half showed that he does not need an alpha type receiver to be successful and Diggs for what he was last year. You know, even being their best guy, we know didn't run and play like a number one type receiver. Didn't produce necessarily like a number one wide receiver. So I think there's, there's still room to grow for Drake May and Josh McDaniels. This system, the play of Romeo Dobbs and improved Kyle Williams. All the things right now that we're looking at. Just on the surface, I still think Drake May belongs in that top five conversation.
Adam Azer
Josh Allen getting DJ Moore, I don't
Jamie Eisenberg
know if anything was going to change him being the number one quarterback. You know, certainly Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow and Drake May. And if you still want to put Jaden Daniels and. And Jalen Hurts in that, you can, you can, you know, sort of make the case that those guys belong there. But Josh Allen just gets better as the number one overall quarterback.
Adam Azer
Caleb Williams losing D.J.
Jamie Eisenberg
moore, yeah, I, I mean it's a loss. We'll see what they do to replace him. But you know, better year for Luther Burden. Full year of, of what we saw at the end for Colston Loveland and hopefully full year of Romo Dunes. You know, this is a top 10 quarterback who as, as I said last week, you know, a. You want pieces of this offense, but probably looking at the first 4,000-yard season in, in Bears history, at least that should be the expectation. And a guy that I would very happily take as a top 10 quarterback.
Adam Azer
Brock Purdy. Getting Mike Evans, I think it sort
Jamie Eisenberg
of saves him a little bit. You know, this was looking pretty bleak for him before free agency when you, you know, saw George Killer, knew that they weren't bringing back Brandon Iuk, expected that they weren't going to bring back Juwan Jennings. And Ricky Piersol has a hard time staying healthy now. You have Evans, Pearsall Kirk, hopefully kd. It's, it keeps him in the, in the conversation to still be a number one fantasy quarterback. He's outside that group for me. He's 14th right now, so I'd rather have Kyler, but great late round, you know, pick as a number one starter.
Adam Azer
Cam Ward getting Wandale Robinson makes him interesting.
Jamie Eisenberg
You know, it's really just the, the totality of what's happened this offseason. You know, Robert Salah coming as the head coach, more so Brian Dable coming as the offense coordinator. I'd love to see them still add a piece to this receiving core. But I'm excited about Wandell Robinson being there for Cam Ward. I'm excited about the development for the young players and one, one player in particular, and that's Gunnar Helm. You know, I, I think he's going to be a playmaker. He doesn't have the upside, at least that, that we have seen of let's say in a ronde Gadsden from last year's class or even maybe Mason Taylor, but did show that he can make some plays and you know, excited obviously Harold Fannin and the other guys, but you know, Fan and Loveland and, and Warren. But I, I think Gunner Helm is going to be a playmaker for them as well. So Cam Ward certainly draftable in super flex leagues for sure and somebody I think that we'll be talking about as a, as a waiver wire ad at some point during the season, maybe early in the season in one quarterback leagues.
Adam Azer
All right, let's do one last one here. Baker Mayfield losing Mike Evans.
Jamie Eisenberg
So after that group that I talked about is where I, I would put Baker right now. So after Bo Nicks, Brock Purdy, Jared Goff, you know, that's where Baker comes into play. And you can make a case that he's better than those guys because he has been at times, as we've seen the last couple of years. I think Heath is sort of, you know, described Baker app appropriately of. We kind of don't know what kind of fantasy quarterback he is in totality because we've seen great moments, great rookie season, great couple years with, with Tampa Bay, obviously the down years in Cleveland, the bouncing around, another offensive coordinator now Zach Robinson, the play caller. So this is now what, four and four years, right? Canales to Cohen to Grizzard, Grizzard and now Zach Robinson. And so does the loss of Mike Evans, who's been such a focal point of this franchise and a focal point of Baker Mayfield. Does that make you feel more comfortable and confident in Baker Mayfield? My guess would be no if you're asking the, the majority of our audience. So I think Baker is a good late round flyer. A guy that will be added and probably started can easily do what he did. I believe it was two years ago where we kind of just wrote him off and he ended up being a top 10 fantasy quarterback. He still has that in his, in his arsenal. Injuries last year were a problem to his offensive line, to him, to his receiving core. You give him a full season of Abuka Godwin and Jalen McMillan. I think Baker will surprise some people once again.
Adam Azer
All right, that is Jamie Eisenberg. Thank you so much for resetting your quarterback rankings. And we'll talk to you next time on Fantasy Football Today Express.
