Welcome.
Dan Schneier
To Fantasy Football Today Dynasty. I am your host Keith Cummings, joined today by Dan Schneier. Dan, it's always great when you're on the show, but this, and I think you were actually on this show last year. This is, this is something I really enjoy because I'm unveiling my top 24 rookies the first two rounds of a Super Flex draft and I get to hear your thoughts for the first time.
Keith Cummings
I love being on the show. I love talking Dynasty Heath. I still feel like there is more meat on the bone for a dynasty. So many people who started this game that I talked to listen to our podcast, listen to your show and they tell me like, this is my new favorite way to play. Now, a lot of those people do it best ball style, which I still am very supportive of. But there are different ways to play Dynasty. And this is the fun part, like right after the draft when you get to evaluate these players in their new landing spots and figure out where you want to rank them as you head into your Dynasty drafts. I love the Dynasty drafts, Heath, that start this week. I don't like the ones that push it off. I want you to go right into the fire before you get all the information and everything like that.
Dan Schneier
Yeah, I, I think I am about 50, 50 on best ball versus standard scoring and I'm about 50, 50 on, on one QB versus super flex dynasty leagues. And so I want you to know at the very beginning, if you're in a one quarterback league, when we get to the quarterbacks and our Super Flex rankings, we will talk about where we would draft those guys in a one quarterback league. What I'll tell you is for me, much, much, much, much lower. I do not think this is a 1 QB class for the quarterback. So don't get too excited there. What we will do on this show is we'll talk about round one, we'll talk about round two, and then we are going to take some of your rookie questions. You can go ahead and put those in the now, you can put those in the chat later. Nobody likes anything more than when I ask Dan a question he's not prepared for from the chat and then we get to talk about it. But let's jump right in with three questions for our guests. And now, Dan, I. I need to share something. I've not told you this yet and I almost wanted to have some screenshots of tweets to illustrate my point. But I'll tell you, it's been so refreshing the last couple of weeks to see optimistic Dan back on Twitter. Like, Optimistic Dan is my favorite. Dan, anything is possible for the Giants in 2025 and you're feeling good again. We've got some new players on the Giants. Dan's talking about a top 10 defense. I want to talk about the rookies The Giants drafted on offense because they are kind of inflection points in this draft either at the end of round one or early in round two. So let's just give me the optimistic case for Jackson Dart and Dynasty.
Keith Cummings
So I think it starts with the idea that Jackson Dart has played a lot of football despite just being 21 years old. He's had 41 FBS level starts and that includes a little bit at USC and then a lot at Ole Miss. And the second part of what gets me optimistic for Dynasty purposes is I remember a story a few years ago when Josh Allen was drafted by the same regime. Joe Shane was working with the Bills and and one of their top guys behind Brandon Bean and Brian D. Was there and the plan Heath was wow, this kid never completed 60% of his passes at Wyoming. The tape has some alarming accuracy issues. This is not going to be a guy who plays this year. We're just going to have him learn and develop. Little did we know, plans change. Josh Allen made 11 starts and 12 appearances as a rookie. So I think things can change fast when it comes to this idea that Jackson Dart is taking this whole first season to learn and to not play. Depending on how he looks this summer and why might he look good this summer? The reason he might look good this summer is because of what he talked about. And this is a great, it's from Dave. Just so for everyone knows Dave and I did, Dave, Richard and I did profiles on these players where we watched six games of film and we did at least six games of film and we wrote up a profile detailed scouting report and within Dave's scouting report of Jackson Dart, Jackson Dart talks about one of the key things he liked about playing in Lane Givens offense. And you could see this as you watch the tape is it's a top down offense. It gets you to read high to low. Some of it is half field stuff and he'll have to work through that. But in the NFL there are half field reads as well by the way. But the idea is you're reading high to low and that's something that's always been important for Brian Dable's system. He had it with Josh Allen, he never had it with Daniel Jones. He never had it with Drew Lock, he never had it with Tommy DeVito, he had it for a little bit with Tyrod Taylor. But it's the key to making that offense work. It's why they signed Russell Wilson, it's why they signed Jameis Winston. And Jackson Dart has already displayed that ability at The Ole Miss, at Ole Miss, the collegiate level. Now it got him in trouble sometimes. Let me be clear. It's not the right way to be just to always be reading high to low. There were times where he would be intercepted trying to read there he'd throw into double coverage, he'd predetermined looks. All of this will be determined throughout training camp Heath, if he's ready to play and see the system. But there are so many times we go into this thing like ah, this guy can't be ready to play. He's one read quarterback, he's got somewhere to go and then he just, it just clicks because he, you know, displayed things on the, on the whiteboard that Dable liked and he sees the offense the right way. And that could happen with Jackson Dart. He has the arm talent, he has the running ability. And we know one thing Brian Dable likes quarterbacks who can run the football. Jackson Dart can run the football. He had design runs for Daniel Jones. He even had design runs for Drew Locke and Tommy DeVito at times. If you look at the tape that will be a part of the offense. So if this kid plays, he's going to have a rushing floor as well. And Remember with in 2022 and at different times with Daniel Jones throughout Brian Dable's coaching tenure he made him a fantasy worthy court like a starting quarterback, like a back end QB one. And that's a very, very in my opinion, untalented quarterback in Daniel Jones. What can he do with someone like Jackson Dart who also has that rushing upside but a much better arm and the ability to hit deep balls. That remains to be determined. But this is also a quarterback Heath who among his peers was top in completion rate, off target rate, sack rate, he only took 2.2.0% sack rate, doesn't take a lot of sacks, second best in yards per attempt in the red zone. And he had 19 throws of 40 plus air yards, 15 of 45 plus air yards over his three seasons at Ole Miss. Some of those off platform, rolling to his left, showing off the arm talent. This is a big game, big play. Hunter with rushing ability, rushing upside. So that's the bull case for him there. Now there's the other side of it which I can get into, but that. Right.
Dan Schneier
Yeah, no, I just, I just wanted the optimistic case here today. We'll have plenty of people talking about the, the disappointing side of this. I, I will say I, I put in our group text, what's the over under a number of starts for Jackson D next year. Dan didn't answer. Jamie said 4 and a half and really no one responded. So that just like there's varying opinions on what he's going to do this year. And I think the probably the scariest thing is if we don't see very much of him this year and there's a GM and coaching change, right, there's a real risk the next regime comes in and they're not a Jackson Dart regime. And then we're, we're in big trouble if we drafted Jackson Dart too early. Let's talk about another Giants pick who wins the Tyrone Tracy Cam Scatter Boo battle.
Keith Cummings
So let me start by saying this just to be clear and you could find this information all throughout Twitter. For weeks ago, before this pick was made, I felt like Cam Scatter Boo was one of two players who was going to be the best value draft pick in this class at the running back position. Scatter Boo and Harvey Harvey actually ended up going way earlier than I expected. So you can't even call that a value pick anymore. But for Dynasty you can call that exciting. But as for why I like Cam Scatter Boo so much more than the rest of the class from a value standpoint, is that when you watch the tape, it's not what you expect. You expect to see this. I've heard people say, like a Mike Allstar player, a little lighter version of Mike Allbach, just bouncing off tackles, running into tackles, playing that style. Then you watch the tape, you're like, wait a second, he wins the edge a lot more than he should win the edge. What's that all about? And you watch the tape, you're like, wow, look at how efficient his footwork is. Look at how he uses the jump cuts. Look to to create space. Look at how he processes defenses in a really unique way and he's a really unique runner. And because he gets so low to the ground and such a low center of gravity, he's only 5 foot 9. That contact balance is just elite levels. Outside of Ashton Gente, no one in this class had better contact balance and contact balance is one of the key traits I look for in running backs. Now. What else do I look for as far as stats to kind of project what you can be at the NFL level? It's two things and it's why I was so high on Tyron Tracy. It's force missed tackle rate and it's yards after contact per attempt. Elite in both regards for cam scatterboo, he 12 last 12 games of the season, 100 plus scrimmage yards. The receiving game is beyond belief. Like this is where I really think he can step up for the Giants early because Brian Dable talked about this in the post draft presser Tyrone Tracy former receiver I'll be honest with you, Heath, from the tape I've watched of those two, Cam Scottaboo's a better receiver than Tracy's more natural receiver. He understands on scramble plays when the quarterback breaks the pocket how to present a target for the receiver. He can run vertical routes, as you saw against Texas. He can run the angle routes. He can run the screen game. He is a really, really dynamic receiver. So what's the upside? To me, he can be a more complete back than Tyrone Tracy over time Year one. I don't think it's going to happen. Why don't I think it's going to happen? His pass production is an absolute mess right now and when you watch the tape, it's almost comical at times. And I say that with all due respect for Cam Spatter. Boo. Because he's trying hard in pass production and he's just throwing his body at people. That's not going to work in the NFL. It didn't really work at college. Coaches are not gonna like that. So how long will that take? That will determine how much he can play. As far as dynasty goes. Long term, I'm way more. I'm actually more bullish on Cam Scadbo because I think he can be a full every down player.
Dan Schneier
But you think it's probably Tracy this year?
Keith Cummings
Tracy for this year, yes.
Dan Schneier
Okay.
Keith Cummings
And Singletary is going to be annoying. Let me make that clear for final question.
Dan Schneier
You've seen a few ranking lists at least mine and Jacob's probably others. Who do you think is going to be your favorite round three or later pick?
Keith Cummings
This is a rough question for a person like Dan Schneier who's very not good at things like Brev. I had seven guys listed here.
Dan Schneier
Give me one.
Keith Cummings
Only one, Only one. Only one. If I only get one favorite is what favorite means. Yes, I know, but I don't do well with that Jarquez Hunter if I only get one.
Dan Schneier
Okay, Jarquez Hunter of the Rams a little more explosive back and you know, fantasy analysts have been trying to replace Kyron basically ever since he got drafted.
Keith Cummings
So Hunter's profile is really unique. He's got the production, he's got the size, speed, athleticism. There's really nothing wrong with it. I think in any other class he would have been viewed as a top five, top six pack.
Dan Schneier
That's going to do it for three questions with optimistic Dan. Let's take a short break and we will jump into the rankings.
Keith Cummings
I've been counted out, dismissed, passed over, told I'd never be a golfer with just one arm. But the only thing that feels better than proving people wrong is out driving them. I'm 14 year old golfer Tommy Morrissey and I want to be remembered for my ability as a champion partner of the Masters. Dan Schneier
Dsw.Com so if you are hearing this episode and you think what they're only doing the top 24, I need deeper than that. My top 50 rookie rankings and tiers are available@cbssports.com if you're not subscribed to the newsletter, make sure you do that because Jacob Gibbs actually released a top 60 trying to one up me. I'm gonna have to talk to him about that. Also, I've recently updated not just rookies but full dynasty quarterback, running back, wide receiver and tight end rankings. As soon as Dan and I finish this show, we're going to do a couple of rookie mock drafts. Jamie's going to post those on the site tomorrow. So yes, we're only giving you the top 24 on this show but you go to CBSSports.com and you're going to find our dynasty thoughts on virtually everyone. Let's get to round one and I'll kind of mention the tier breaks while we go through this. So the first pick in any format. Super Flex Tight End Premium. I don't care what kind of rules you make up. Yeah, Ashton Genty and he's in a tier of his own. Number two for me. And again, I, I, I wrote this in the article but I'd really like to just say I'm going to group two through seven together here. We can argue about the order of two through seven, but that's tier two for me, it's Cam Ward, the quarterback for the Titans now. Travis Hunter, Trevion Henderson, Omari and Hampton. Tet McMillan and Quin. Sean Judkins, Ward Hunter, Henderson, Hampton McMillan, Judkins. That's tier two. Tier three bleeds into round two. But the tier three players who I rank in round one, Matthew Golden, Emeka Egbuca, Luther Burden, Caleb Johnson and Colston Loveland at number 12 rounding out round ones, that's Genti Ward, Hunter, Henderson, Hampton McMillan, Judkin's, Golden, Egbuka, Burden, Johnson, Loveland, Dan. Instant reaction.
Keith Cummings
My instant reaction is I really like how you grouped this up with tiers of round one. I have a little few differences. I don't know if you want to get into that. The first one would be I would put Caleb Johnson in my tier one of round one. That's the first difference. The scheme fit is unbelievable with Arthur Smith and I think the talent is there. He had average 8.4.
Dan Schneier
Clarification. I I hate to interrupt you, but I just want to make sure you said tier one of round one of round. I've got Genty all by himself in two.
Keith Cummings
Sorry, no, no, no. That tier two through seven, which I like that you did. I like that you showed the difference and I fully agree with it. Besides having Caleb up there, the scheme fit, the 8.4 yards per carry in the fourth quarter wears defenses down the one cut and go. I love the fit with the Steelers. The other guy I would drop out of it personally is Queen Sean Junk. Is it Keen Sean or Queen Sean? I don't even know. I think Keen Sean, Junkins, Queen Sean. I don't know. I don't know.
Dan Schneier
I, I, I I would really like it if you just told me that I was saying it wrong as opposed to saying I'm not sure which of these two things. I'm just gonna say every other one. I think before you like I that just leads us right into our next question. Yeah, because I think a lot of people have a problem with me having Henderson as RB2, and that's because my that's another these rankings are based on full PPR and I think Henderson playing with Josh McDaniels may just lead all running backs in receptions over the next three seasons in half ppr. I would certainly have Hampton ahead of Henderson and I would definitely have Caleb Johnson higher than where he is in these full PPR rankings at RB11. How do you think the format dictates the order of Henderson, Hampton, Judkins, and let's include Johnson.
Keith Cummings
You know, looking at this before we got a chance, I got a chance to say it. I was going to say that's my next problem with it. I want Hampton over Henderson. But I think you made a really good case for it. And that bull case. You can look at the history of Josh McDaniels as a coordinator. That's all you need. And then just kind of look at their roster outside of Henderson, who are they going to use for that role? Why would they not use Henderson for that role? Why would they not make that a big part of the offense? To give Drake May some easier solutions. Just let him kind of live an easier life. Like it was so hard for me. It felt like watching his tape last year given the personnel and kind of the system they ran. I don't want to kill Van Pelt. It was okay, but it just was hard. So why not give him easy solutions? So I like the Henderson call as far as the. The next part of it. I still just think Caleb Johnson has so much touchdown upside there and yardage upside there. I still want to put him up there. And Queen Sean Judkins I, I didn't like as much as others liked personally when I watched him. I think Jacob actually had a really good stat on this. I want to bring this up. No running back in this class had bigger splits against non Power 5 opponents than against Power 5 opponents. Getting most of rejection against the non Power 5 opponents than Judkins in this class. And that definitely scares me a little bit.
Dan Schneier
I, I think I've made this clear many times in the past. My rankings are certainly influenced by Matt Waldman. Matt Waldman who is also got some pretty close ties to Cleveland and, and was huge on Nick Chubb and talks about like that, that whole organization and he had Judkins as his number two running back in this class before the draft.
Keith Cummings
I like that.
Dan Schneier
So I, I do think like anytime I'm in the middle of consensus and Waldman I feel pretty safe. Like this is a safe space right here. If I'm outside of that that then I get a little bit concerned. But I know like I. You should go back and listen to the part one of the running back preview from earlier this month and we've shared it on social and on here. Like there was a really good discussion between Gibbs and Waldman about Judkins. I think you'll learn a lot just listening to that. Let's. Let's address something else because one thing.
Keith Cummings
On that too I just want to make clear I did because I only watched one of those games, I did actually like Judkins better in the Ole Miss system than I did in Ohio State. I think it's possible that he could have been playing hurt or just not, you know, quickly assimilating to what Ohio State does. So I think that's an important note to make. Like he's still a player that I can understand why someone like Waldman would be so high on.
Dan Schneier
So I've got Ward in tier two currently at pick two in Super Flex. I think if you don't need a quarterback, it's fine to take Hunter or Henderson or Hampton or even Tet at number two. Like there's lots of options, but let's say it's a one quarterback lead. What's the earliest you would draft Camward?
Keith Cummings
These questions. So it's like we have him at 2 in Superflex, which I think is fair and fine and makes sense. Because of the need situation at quarterback, that need goes away big time. I feel like when we go to one quarterback, even just thinking about our YOLO league, like it's very easy to field one quarterback in that league, whether that be just a veteran who can get you that floor on a weekly basis. So to me, where do I take that second quarterback, which for me would be Jackson Dart Based on all these landing spots and draft capital, specifically at the quarterback position is important. Probably not until four or five picks into round. No, no, no.
Dan Schneier
Now Ward, the first quarterback in one quarterback league.
Keith Cummings
Sorry, sorry Ward. I. I definitely wouldn't take over the two tiers you broke down earlier. I don't think I'd take him over anybody until, until maybe after RJ Harvey is probably where I'm thinking.
Dan Schneier
I'm probably not taking him until pick 20. I'm not convinced. I think there's a very good chance that Cam Ward's going to give you five plus solid years of QB2 production. I'm not sure he's ever going to string together back to back top 12 seasons. And so in a one quarterback league I feel like I'm drafting a backup and I don't really want to do that until at least pick 20 in a one quarterback league. I, I want to switch to the other direction though because Colston Loveland is at the end of round one. In my pre draft top 50, I think I had him 13th. Now I've got him 12th. But there's a lot of tight end premium leagues out there. I'm in several myself. How much higher should Loveland be in tight end premium?
Keith Cummings
So I just want to Be clear, I don't have much experience in tight end premium leagues. I'm not in any currently. I've done them before but it's just not in currently. So with that said, I don't have a great grasp on it but I do really like the fit for Colston Loveland. I can say that much. The reason I like the fit so much is thinking about my I spent so much time watching Caleb Williams last year is one of my favorite quarterbacks I've evaluated and one thing I love about him is the scene that's the area of the field. I think he can just dominate NFL defense if it clicks for him finally and if he get becomes a better NFL quarterback because watching him at usc, that arm talent and that velocity that he puts on the ball and the ball placement, it's great to challenge that middle of the field area just over that second level linebackers and just in between the safeties and that's where Colson Loveland is going to live and he's one of those players that remind like when I watched Nico Collins at college and then at the Senior bowl and I loved him. He was one of my favorite players in that class. I was like he was held back so much by how bad Michigan's quarterback play was. I felt the exact same way about Colston Love and last year once they lost J.J. mcCarthy. So I love betting on those guys that have that advantage of the stats aren't all there, the production isn't all there. But it's mostly just because of the quarterback play and I feel that way watching his film. So I'll move him all the way up to the middle of round one in a tight end premium assuming that that's the kind of value for those type of players.
Dan Schneier
I'm in a two time a two two times. That's the way to say it. 2.0 tight end premium league that Jacob Gibb runs where we have to start two tight ends and I don't think he's gonna. I don't think he's gonna make it to me at 6 but I'd be thrilled with him at 6 and if it's 1.5 then I think you're probably looking at pick 7 but definitely a top 6 pick if you get double the points for tight end receptions Now I've heard more people too.
Keith Cummings
I could make the Casey go even higher. That's crazy format too.
Dan Schneier
The thing is though, he still has to be a difference maker.
Keith Cummings
True.
Dan Schneier
Like we talk about people here, you start two tight ends and it makes this big deal. Well, the truth is that we usually get to tight end 10 and that guy's averaging nine and a half fantasy points per game and tight end 20 averages 8 1/2 fantasy points per game. So there's no difference between the two guys.
Keith Cummings
True.
Dan Schneier
I I've heard more people, it seems that are excited about the fact that Ben Johnson took Colston Loveland than people that are excited about the fact that Ben Johnson took Luther Burden. Luther Burden is an exceptionally talented player who has flaws. I just wonder if maybe we're underestimating even I as I look at this, this rankings, if, if I'm underestimating the fact that Ben Johnson may just get the very best out of Luther Burden and just not use him in the ways that he's not good. Is it possible Luther Burden should be in the Hunter McMillan conversation?
Keith Cummings
Without a doubt. I think that's possible. I did his profile for CBSSports.com very interesting. Unique player. I felt like when I was watching the whole time that either one we're looking at a Kadarius Tony type thing where and not to use that name like he's anywhere similar type prospect but just where like he's used in a way where they don't trust him as a boundary receiver. So that's why they have him in the slot so much. 60 of the snaps I believe in Missouri were in the slot or two. That offense and the quarterback situation are kind of why they put him there because it's like, well this is the best way to get him the football. If it's two, which I think it very well could be based on the talent, based on how he gets in and out of his breaks, which is really phenomenal. That's where I'm led to believe we are ranking him too low. Ben Johnson gonna get the most out of him. And we spent a lot of this off season before this Heath talking like is it going to be G.J. moore in the slot? Is it going to be Oduns who's going to play that Aman Ross ain't Brown role. If that's Luther Burden playing that role like sky's the limit. And I know there's been other talk like Jameson. I think someone, I heard someone say something about Jameson Williams has a connection to him. Maybe they were teammates or they played from the same high school. I don't know exactly. Maybe you've used him in that kind of role. I wouldn't love that as much. But if he puts him in that slot role like we could be looking at insane level production potentially from him.
Dan Schneier
I currently have in my Dynasty rankings. Luther Burden is my wide receiver 31.
Keith Cummings
Okay.
Dan Schneier
I still have Roma Dunes a up around wide receiver 19. I liked Roma dunes a more. He was drafted earlier but I'm getting nervous that we don't know who's going to play which of these roles in the Bears offense. And one of these guys, it might be DJ Moore, the one we all think is the best. It might be DJ Moore that gets stuck in the less desirable.
Keith Cummings
Sure.
Dan Schneier
What, what if Luther Burden is the slot guy and all of a sudden we've just way too high on more and a dunze and this is a.
Keith Cummings
Whole lot of projection production for a team that had a quarterback that really struggled to be on target last year. Like there is a scenario in play. I don't think it's going to happen. I'm bullish on this offense, but I have to at least accept the scenario. Especially playing outdoors in Chicago late in the year where like this team is not the production profile we expected and there are four different targets that we have to work with for, you know, four different talents to work with for targets. So I think there could be a lot of overrating for this offense from us from a ranking standpoint as we move through the next four months of fantasy.
Dan Schneier
We had a comment in the chat said finally someone that has it right. Caleb over rj. Well, let's get to rj. Let's get to round two of my rankings and in fairness, I have Caleb and RJ in the same tiers in Super Flex pick 13, RJ Harvey, the Broncos new running back. Everyone's very excited because Sean Payton took him probably two rounds earlier than he had to and really got his guy. Number 14 in the rankings, Jackson Dart. We've talked plenty about him. Fifteen is Jaden Higgins. Sixteen. And this is where I would say there's another tier starting. Okay, Jack Besh with the Raiders now Trey Harris with the Chargers now Jalen Milroe for the Seahawks, Tyler Warren for the Colts. Cam Scatterboo, we just talked about him on the Giants. Harold Fannin. Yes, I know I'm the only person in the universe with him in round two at pick nine in round two. Then Dylan Sampson, who joins Judkins on the Browns, Ollie Gordon, who was drafted by the Dolphins, and Jalen Noel for the Texans. I did like the fact that Higgins and Noel, teammates at Iowa State, end up teammates in Houston. So Round two in my rank, Harvey Dart, Higgins, Besh, Harris, Milro, Warren, Scatterboo Fannin Sampson Gordon Noel what are your first thoughts?
Keith Cummings
Dan My first thoughts are this is a lot like how I see this playing out in round two for me I'll say a few players I might be higher or lower on. Trey Harris is a player I absolutely love. I love the fit and I love the player. Obviously this is going to happen sometimes. Heath when I watch so much Jackson dark tape I'm going to see more of Harris than maybe some other receivers. But he reminds me of somebody who is so much better than the athletic testing shows. When you watch him in space create understand angles and how to create more yards after contact that goes to show that that's in addition to all his route running all his ability at the top of the break which is the most impressive I think for among the most impressive among receivers in this class not Travis Hunter level obviously. I think with that seat with that team they see something in him that they saw in Lad which is that ability to get in and out of his breaks and create separation and with Justin Herbert that's the perfect kind of receiver you want. I understand. Look, guys like Quinton Johnson, those are not and Palmer those not my favorite type of receivers for Herbert I want the guys getting in and out of their breaks so Herbert can anticipate and throw that ball with the velocity he does. So I love Trey Harris. I would I don't know if I would rank him too much higher. I definitely have him over Bash. I might have him over Higgins and I probably have him over Dart. Other thing that stands out about this round is Dylan Sampson. Look, I love the talent. I don't understand know if I understand the path fully here for a lot of reasons and it's one of the reasons I'm down on Judkins. I think this, this Browns offense is going to be trash for a long time. I trust Stefanski and their O lines got some pieces but it's aging but I don't trust the quarterback situation there at all no matter who ends up playing for them at quarterback and if that doesn't fix itself soon and I don't know when it would I guess maybe next year if they can get luck if Arch Manning comes out or something like that. I don't know if I want to buy into players on this offense long term so I guess that one would stand on them and then the last one is Milroe. Look I talked about him with you pre draft. I believe I'm definitely high on his fantasy upside. I don't like the spot and I'll tell you why. It's not that I'm not worried about Sam Darnold long term. It's that when you draft a player at quarterback that late 93, the history is just not that you're looking at them for sure to be a starter to, to get a lot of, you know, like the. So if a team came up and got him like the Saints got shock at 40, like that was the pick. I'm okay with this ranking, but given what I now see as career trajectory from a start standpoint being, it's a little iffy to me when I'm passing on players I really like. Like scatter Boo Warren Noel, who I really love. Even Gordon I like a little bit even though the fit isn't as good. So I don't know. That's the only one. Those are the big standouts for me.
Dan Schneier
I, I think it's a really difficult thing and it's probably more of a luxury pick. It's probably better if you feel like you don't have any holes because if Jalen Milro, man, I don't know why I can't say his name today, but Jalen Milroe can't can play quarterback in the NFL. Holy cow, the lottery ticket you just cashed. Yeah, you just did. Everything is awesome now. So let's talk about the guy who's right behind him. Because you said you really like Tyler Warren. I, I was a little bit skeptical and I expressed this before the draft about the fact that we didn't really see that much production until he was older than most the players he was playing against. I was a little bit skeptical that he, that Penn State schemed him up so much and would he go to a place that's going to scheme him up as much as they did and could he win in just a regular offensive tight end role?
Keith Cummings
Sure.
Dan Schneier
Now I, I actually still kind of like the Colts offensive game plan, but they don't have the quarterbacks to do what they want to do. Whether Anthony Richardson is quarterback or Daniel Jones's quarterback, they might throw a hundred fewer passes than the Bears do this year. And he's got Josh Downs and Michael Pittman who no matter what you think about them, they, they earn targets.
Keith Cummings
Right.
Dan Schneier
And so I, that's why he falls all the way to 19. I had him at 12 in my pre draft rankings, but he went 14th overall. Dan, it's fantastic for a tight end. Am I holding his landing spot against him too much?
Keith Cummings
I think so because I actually like the landing spot from A schematic standpoint. I don't like it from the quarterback standpoint and I'm big on penalizing draft picks for quarterbacks and I've been burned on that. I, I, you know some of my startups, I drafted Tyreek Hill a few years ago. It ended up being okay, but like because I was like oh, I'll have him tied to my home service career. This is unreal. Like this is the best player in fantasy. Nope. He gets traded a year later. So things change in the NFL. But the reason I like the landing spot that besides not liking the quarterbacks is I feel like watch game of Penn State and how they used him. I feel like when you, when you're, when you're stiking and you're thinking about drafting a player like this now you're going to use him, you're thinking about well let me think about my quarterbacks. Anthony Richardson, Daniel Jones, they are not traditional quarterbacks who are very good at dropping back and processing the defense. Daniel Jones for sure is one of the worst I've ever seen at that Richardson, I can't speak to as much, I haven't seen as much of his tape but I think that's part of the problem. So a player like Warren, I'm thinking like, like well if I'm staking I'm like let me re watch that 2022 giant state when Daniel Jones had his only good season. There's a lot of bootleg, it was a lot of dump down on slides to the tight end, slide routes, the tight end, a lot of that like easy action layup type throws that we can design for the quarterback. So it's like what's my solution for a quarterback who can't process defenses in a traditional way? Get him easy solutions in the passing game. Tyler Warren I think can be lined up in a variety of different roles in line, in the slot and as an H back for easy solutions for the quarterback off of play action. And that's what I think is going to happen with him. So I have the bullish case of he's mostly their whole offense not in, in a similar way to Browers last year but different because Bowers is running like real intermediate routes and stuff like that. Warren to me will be more of around the line of scrimmage type stuff. But regardless for ppr, I don't care if it's eight, if it's eight to nine touches a game, I don't care how he gets them. And that's my bull case for him. I Think they'll have a plan for him and it fits what these quarterbacks can do.
Dan Schneier
So I know you would take Warren ahead of Melro. What about Harris?
Keith Cummings
No. I love Trey Hire, so no.
Dan Schneier
What about Jack Bish?
Keith Cummings
Yes.
Dan Schneier
Jaden Higgins?
Keith Cummings
Yes.
Dan Schneier
Jackson Dart?
Keith Cummings
Yes.
Dan Schneier
So you would be around 15 for him. I didn't have an RJ Harvey question, but I think enough people are talking about him. Enough people are talking about him as a round one pick.
Keith Cummings
Yeah.
Dan Schneier
That we should at least discuss. I. People got a little more excited about the Sean Payton thing than. Than I did. And partially it's because I don't think I have the same level of trust with Sean Payton that others do. I don't. I don't necessarily know exactly what role he's going to play. They'll use multiple running backs and he's going to be one of them early on, at least as long as he doesn't do something that upsets Sean Payton. But I the. The value in that offense for a running back is being the guy who gets targeted a bunch and is on the field on passing downs a bunch. You think Harvey is that guy day one in this offense?
Keith Cummings
That's a great question. Day one, I think he can be that guy. Whether it's day one or not, I'm not sold on, but I would lean toward yes, given that depth chart and what they have there. Mostly because I just think he views him as a player that he needs to have on the field because he's so electric and explosive. I am on the other side of it. I have a lot of trust in Sean Payton. What I really like about Payton, when I was watching some Bo Nicks last year, it's the designs in the run game. Like, I remember this from the days, like way back when Sean Payton was the Giants offensive coordinator with Kerry COLLINS in the 2000s, when I was growing up, the way he designed that run game for Tiki Barber, it was so phenomenal. And I feel like Harvey is not Tiki Barber, but I see similarities in how they get in and out of cuts and their explosiveness to get. To find that crease and just go. And so if you're Sean Payton, you can design swing routes for him, you can design screens, you can design different ways for him to. To find that space, find his crease and go. So I'm very bullish on Harvey. He was again the player I like the most in this position from a value standpoint. Pre draft him or scatter. Boo. So it's just hard for me to come down off of this. And I will say this, Dave Richard did like a study two years ago when or I think now. Was it two years ago? Yeah. When Sean Baten was traded to the by the Saints to the Broncos to be their head coach. And he looked back at like Sean Payton's entire career from a fantasy standpoint at running back position. And there were so many times Heath where he had two running backs performing at a top 12 run RB level. So it's not like I it the way reason I like it so much. I don't think he needs a workhorse role to really be affected in fantasy. I just think running backs in this.
Dan Schneier
Scheme work except for the last two.
Keith Cummings
Years and then that that has been the case. You're right. He finally came to that study was only up through his time. But to be fair about his last two years, he said Javon Javante Williams, who's just totally shot I think after the injuries and like a few other players that people like McLaughlin like are they really that good like estimate, you know, now he has R.J. harvey. That's a different level talent, I think.
Dan Schneier
And that's, that's probably the question that I have the most is how do we like RJ Harvey. I kind of thought was like a round four running back.
Keith Cummings
Yeah.
Dan Schneier
Which is not somebody that I'm saying is a difference maker. And then Sean Payton takes him early in round two. And so now do we say oh, he's got round two talent or did Sean Payton just take him earlier than anyone else would?
Keith Cummings
So I don't never believe them to be around 4 talent. Personally, I believe them to be round 23 talent.
Dan Schneier
Okay, so you were just a little higher on him beforehand. I was a little higher on Dylan Sampson. I know Jacob Gibbs was as well. Gibbs basically just buried Samson, it looked like to me in the rankings after this happened. I guess my question is if you're not necessarily a big believer in Judkins and you were a big believer in Samson, what's to say that Sampson couldn't just be better than judges? I don't think that's going to happen. That's why I've got judge higher. But I did like Samson also.
Keith Cummings
Well, no, I still want to be clear. I have Jug. I like Judkins tape and I liked his profile way more than than Sam.
Dan Schneier
Okay.
Keith Cummings
But I do like Samson a lot from a talent standpoint. I think that gap isn't as far as maybe some might seem or think, but it's draft capital. Heath. We know how these teams work when it comes to the capital, when you're going to use that kind of capital at running back like they used on Judkins, there's a clear vision in mind, there's a role in mind. And then what does that leave left for Sampson? To me it doesn't leave much. So how does that, how does that become fantasy relevant? Well, he's such a good player and he's such a freak athlete and such an explosive player. Then he needs to get some snaps. So he gets his 8 to 10 and they're good snaps on that offense. With my projection for that offense moving forward, it's just not, it's not what I where I want to be. I don't want to be investing in Browns RB2s that probably aren't. Don't even have like a 1A 1B type upside.
Dan Schneier
So I'm just looking at it now that they were dead last in scoring last year.
Keith Cummings
Yeah. So they're.
Dan Schneier
They're probably not going to be worse than that. I think 32nd is the floor. So 308 rush attempts for the running backs. It looks like so very, very pass heavy. And you saw 43 targets, 65 targets, 76. You know about a hundred targets in this offense. I don't think Judkins is probably going to be heavily used on those passing downs. So are we looking at a 250 to 50 split in rushing attempts? Are we looking at 225 to 75? And then if there's 100 targets available, could Dylan Sampson be in that Jerome Ford role and be a guy who earns 60, 70 targets?
Keith Cummings
Maybe. Maybe. I don't really foresee it. I think he has receiving upside, but I don't think we saw it yet on his tape.
Dan Schneier
And then you said you liked Ollie Gordon. I liked the fact that he landed in Miami with kind of a clear opportunity to be the number two to HN. And if HN's down, maybe the starter for the Dolphins. Is that kind of how you see Gordon?
Keith Cummings
That's definitely how I see him. And he's an interesting player because the Giants had a pre draft so I watched a lot of his tape. He was a much better player first of all in 2023 than 2024. I think he might have been playing hurt or just the off the that Oklahoma State defense was so bad that he was in such bad game script his entire 2024 season. That's part of it. But he is somebody who at one point in 2023 was in the Heisman mix because he absolutely dominated with 2300 total yards and 24 touchdowns. Rare players in this class that do that. That's Scatter Boo, that's him, that's Genti. There's only a few players that have those kind of production numbers and when you watch it, you can see why. To me, he reminds me a little bit of watching DeMarco Murray back in the day. That style runner, high runner doesn't get low but is good at just gliding in and out of his in and out of his cuts and and and finding those creases and should play with a little bit more power but has flashes of like wow, look at that stiff arm. He's a big dude and he can at some point play with power. It's a different kind of back than I'm used to. Miami drafting with Jalen Wright and Devin Devin HN. What does that tell me? It tells me that McDaniel sees this and sees a role McDaniel sees this and sees a role for him. I don't know where that role will be in year one, but I like it a little bit more long term like you said.
Dan Schneier
Let's take our second break. Then we're going to answer some of your rookie questions. I've already got four of them queued up, but you've got time to get more questions questions in before we finish the show. We'll be right back.

And the first question it's funny that the NFL draft ends and what do some people do? Start looking to the 2026 NFL Draft. I understand it's an exciting time of year. You want to look forward to that next year. Is next year's class good enough to reroll later around later draft picks? And I would say if you're talking about round one, the point for me where I start considering that is around pick eight or nine. Okay, so you say later picks? Yes. In round two, if I'm rolling over to a 2026 second again, it's probably that same thing. Round eight or nine. I'm not going to give up a mid second for a 2026 second, but I might give up a late second. Do you have any thoughts on the 2026 class yet, Dan? Does that sound about right to you?
Keith Cummings
That sounds about right. The only thing I will say because this is the only early read I have on that class. I'm higher on the quarterbacks in this class than this past year, of course, but just in general, generally speaking, that's even if Arch doesn't come out. I don't know if Arch will. Sellers cannot. South Carolina could be a fantasy absolute beast. Like could be a guy that we're looking at as the 11 pick in Super Flex. And I know we did that kind of with Richardson. He's a different player than Richardson, a much more advanced passer in my opinion. And I love his rushing ability, so I want to put that out there. But there's players like Nuss at quarterback who I think would have been my quarterback one in this class. Him or Ward and I could make the case for Nuss and there's a few other players that Aller could be. So like with more quarterbacks that should push down more talent. Which leads you to believe at least like theoretically that it's better to have those picks than this year. I haven't really studied the running backs or receivers, so I don't have much of a take on that other than it's hard for me to imagine the running backs could be as good as this class receivers. It's hard to say. I haven't studied it enough.
Dan Schneier
Yeah, 10, 000 foot view. I would say the quarterback's gonna be better next year. The wide receivers are going to be better next year. The running backs are going to be worse next year. And I have absolutely no clue about the tight ends at this point. So don't ask them.
Keith Cummings
Better than the guys going at 10 and 14 overall.
Dan Schneier
Right. And here's a name we didn't mention and you didn't say is your favorite date. Round three pick. Is Kyle Williams being slept on? Williams was not a guy that, that I had really any sort of strong opinion about before the draft. Then he got drafted by the Patriots and I'm not sure that I have any sort of strong opinion about now. If somebody said they wanted to draft him at the end of round two, Dan, I'm not sure that I'd really care, but I've got him as a round three guy. Is he being slept on?
Keith Cummings
I'm so happy you asked some that. Who asked this question. Let me. Let me shout him out. George. George. I'm so happy you asked this question because earlier Heath gave me. I have to pick a favorite. I can't pick all my favorite values from day three. So I ranked him because I knew that might happen before the show. And number two of my rankings after Hunter was Kyle Williams. Why do I love Kyle Williams so much? First of all, I loved him pre draft. Watching his tape, I thought he was severely underranked. The way he gets in and out of his breaks in the short game and then that vertical speed when he's. When he's breaking the double moves. He to me, is somebody who could be way better for fantasy than people realize because of two things. One, look at Drake Mays history. Josh Downs in college in North Carolina. It. Their connection was incredible. He reminds me a little bit of Josh Downs, just a little bit smoother and a little bit better long speed. Two, Josh McDaniels and that system. They love to target the slot in that system. Why would this guy not be your slot in the system after what he showed on tape? So Kyle Williams is somebody I have ranked much higher than consensus. I'm glad you asked him. I could even make the case that I like him more than Hunter and I should have said him first.
Dan Schneier
There you go. Kyle Williams is almost one of Dan's guys.
Keith Cummings
Yeah.
Dan Schneier
I'm going to give you another chance to say another one of your favorite sleepers. You're gonna have to dig a little bit deeper this time because below ADP48 position, I'm just gonna say right now we have no idea this early in the process what ADP48 is going to be. So we're going to stretch that definition just a little bit. Who's a few taxi squad sleepers to stash?
Keith Cummings
Okay, 48. So let me try to look toward that range. Okay. Some guys I like, this guy might be a little higher than 48. But Bashard Smith, the Chiefs running back, the former receiver I listened to their director of. I forgot his name. It's lot or dot or something with an OT at the end of it. And the way he talked about him, he's like, we drafted him because our coaches think he can play right away and our coaches see a role for him and he's. And he. And he said whether that is a passing down role or an every down role. It was very odd to hear like how high he was on this player they drafted really late.
Dan Schneier
How much did you look at him before the draft?
Keith Cummings
Not as much as I wanted to.
Dan Schneier
But I was talking to my son about the pick and kind of explaining what my vision was for what Smith could do. And he says so like Jerick McKinnon and I think what he did in that. In the Chiefs offense. Yes, right.
Keith Cummings
Yeah. Well, exactly what he did in the Chiefs offense, I mean, it's a similar situation to Tyrone Tracy, right. He converts from receiver and one season as a running back and has 1300 yards. Like that's what the player personnel guy from the Chiefs was like. That production is unheard of for somebody who's learning the position. And what do we see with Tracy? Like, he was really much better than people expected in year one. So I just like that profile a lot. But let's dig a little deeper because he's kind of in the 40s range ranking. Let me go. Jakori, Crosby, Moret, the Commanders. This is a Jacob Gibbs favorite. I never watched him at all until Gibbs came on my podcast and talked about him. Then I watched and I'm like, I totally understand what you see here on tape. He went to the Commanders. Austin Eckler's aging. This might be his last year. This is a great fit for Cliff Kingsberry scheme. Another guy that I don't know if he'll be ranked in this range attack squad. But Kyle Manon guy the Bears like I know the Bears felt like they got sniped at running back. We'll see because Manungai on tape was unbelievable.
Dan Schneier
He.
Keith Cummings
He was entire Rucker's offense and he gave them that profile that seems so similar to me. Heath with the yards after contact per attempt, getting in and out of tackles. So similar to what David Montgomery has given the Detroit Lions and given them with with Ben Johnson.
Dan Schneier
I think those were great names. Definitely some of the names I was going to give. I'll add one more. I think Gibbs talked about him quite a bit before the draft. Tori Horton, big favorite of Matt Harmon, and we always love Matt Harmon's work on the wide receivers. Horton got drafted by the Seahawks, and so he's another guy who could be available around 48, I'd say. Like we just gave four names in most drafts. Two of those guys are going to go before 48, but I don't know which two and you're not going to know which two until it happens. But I think one of those guys in most drafts will be around, around that point. We've got a question about early in the draft. I have the 103. The dude in front of me is taking Hampton. I don't know what to do between Tet and Travis Hunter. And this is a question that is going to give Dynasty managers nightmares, quite frankly. I'll give my outlook on this situation, Dan. Then I'd like to hear yours. Or if you get just the same, then we'll be good to go. But I think it's just about what your risk aversion is. I feel much, much better about Travis Hunter being a fantasy producer because he got drafted on Jacksonville and not Cleveland because they have talked ever since the draft about him playing primarily as a wide receiver. I think because of what they paid for him. Like, I think we're going to see Travis Hunter primarily as a wide receiver early on. That does not eliminate the risk if he's really going to play a few snaps or a lot of snaps on defense. His injury risk is going up with every additional snap that he plays. If he plays half a season and he's better as a corner than he is as a wide receiver, he might end up playing more as a corner than a wide receiver. So there is a lot of risk. I don't think McMillan can touch Travis Hunter's upside. And so that's the bet you're making. I feel pretty confident Ted McMillan is going to give us several years of wide receiver to play and maybe he sneaks into the top 12 at some point. Point. Hunter's probably either going to be a top eight wide receiver in Dynasty a year from now or outside of the top 24. And so it's just all about the risk with those two, in my opinion. How do you see it, Dan?
Keith Cummings
So you're asking the right or wrong guy depending on how you look at it. Because I was insanely high on Travis Hunter in this pre draft process as a wide receiver I thought by far and away he had the best wide receiver tape by far and away I. A clip that Thomas put out there I believe had me comparing him to Justin Jefferson. I think it was a little, it was a little clipped up that it wasn't, I wasn't comparing the two players. I said I saw shades of Justin Jefferson in his game and that's the route running, the ability to get in and out of his breaks, the attacking of the football with his hands. To me it's a complete profile really. The release package off the line of scrimmage. It's phenomenal. And now to me I like the landing spot because yes, Brian Thomas is there little competition for targets but that might mean we get some isolated three by one sets with Hunter as a one as the one on a three by one and teams can't really afford to shade the safety there because of Brian Thomas. You want to leave this guy one on one, I guarantee you Travis Trevor Lawrence will be able to make him pay because this is the type of player that he doesn't really need the ball to be that accurate. He just needs to be near him and he'll come down with a catch. I saw that a lot watching Shador Sanders. I'm going to be honest with the situation of watching Shador Sanders. So to me he's the clear 103 in this spot. I would personally take him 102.
Dan Schneier
Yeah, I, I will pro. I don't have 102 in any drafts. So I, I, I. But I think that's probably what I would do. I say that I'm gonna find a place where I have one.
Keith Cummings
Oh yeah.
Dan Schneier
Because I have too many leagues and forget what I've got. Jason wants to know, speaking of 102, what's the value in trading up from 102 to get Ashton Genti? Yeah, the 101 owner wants 102 and 227 firsts. That's a lot. But it's also the 2027 first or two years from now. That's future use problem. I will say I remember when Bijan Robinson came out and Dan had the number one pick in our YOLO league and I tried a variety of things. Definitely at least three first round picks. It might have been more than that. It might have been three firsts and three seconds. I never got close to getting. I don't think Dan, that you can get this done with a reasonable offer. Like I can tell you what the trade chart says the difference between these two guys is.
Keith Cummings
Sure.
Dan Schneier
But I'm not really sure that's ever going to get a deal done.
Keith Cummings
Yeah, that's just the exact scenario of Bijan Robinson playing himself over again where no one's going to get this deal done. You could blow him out of the water with some kind of trade to get the deal done. I think that's the only way maybe gets done. But I've seen a lot of. I've been in a few leagues where people are trying to get to the 101 and I've seen some offers. My friends have texted me that, you know, they have the 101. They're like I'm not doing this like and they're not even really considering it. I think that's what ends up happening here. Like who has that 101? They're not, they're listen. But they're not really open to considering a trade. So as far as like this specific. He wants the 101 guy wants 102, 227 first. If I'm competing, I'm open to doing that. If I'm not not like in a competitive position where I'm competing for the Super Bowl, I'm not going to give 227 first.
Dan Schneier
Right. Let's. Let's say you're the Genti manager though.
Keith Cummings
Yeah.
Dan Schneier
And you earned the 101 last year through being really bad. And so you can take a running back that everyone agrees is the number one pick and have a running back on this terrible roster. Or you can have the 102, which is either Ward or Hunter for you and add two firsts in 2027. Are you taking that deal?
Keith Cummings
You know what? I am digging that deal.
Dan Schneier
Yeah.
Keith Cummings
I am taking that deal. I, I think a lot of the genty people with that first pick are just like I said, not even considering it. There has to be a point where you, where you do consider what, what it's actually worth. And if it involves the actuality of getting a player right now, that makes me a lot more willing to accept that offer. Like Travis Hunter, somebody I believe in. When it's just like a lot of future stuff. That's where I feel like, like I don't know.
Dan Schneier
Dale asks a very good question with maybe a little bit of confusion. But my question is how much influence does your pre draft belief in the player affect your rankings? It seems odd to rank a mid third running back in Johnson with Hampton who went mid first also to a great spot. First off. Yes, they're in the same round, but I've got Caleb Johnson at the very end of that round and I've got Hampton four or five spots higher and in a different tier. I think Dan did say he would put them in the same tier though. You liked Hampton more than Johnson beforehand. Did you like Johnson's landing spot more than Hampton's?
Keith Cummings
Yeah, I, I love the Johnson landing spot. I understand for PBR it's a little scary. I even think they could use him in the passing game though. I saw flashes of very natural receiver at Iowa. It's Arthur Smith. I don't want to get too excited but man talk about scheme fit identity that the Steelers are all about and then just his skill set which I really appreciated and forget about all that or add to all that they've done a lot of work to improve their offensive line through the drafts over these few years and their offensive line played much better last year and it's going to continue to get better. So I just love the fit there.
Dan Schneier
I will say to answer the first part of the question, I don't know how to quantify that deal. It does impact it. It's probably why I just basically kept Igbuka where he was. May dropped him a spot in my rankings landing in Tampa Bay with Chris Godwin and Mike Evans in front of him and I don't know when he's going to produce, but I know he's good enough and at some point in the NFL he's going to produce. It might be wrongly why I still have Dylan Sampson at the end of round two because I just thought he was a really good running back and I just kind of figure things will figure themselves out. I think it's easier to do that at wide receiver where the careers are longer than it is at running back check. But it it's certainly, I think you're looking at a lot of different things. Draft capital is a factor for sure. How good we think the player actually is is a factor for sure. How we what we think about the team he's on and the people who are in front of him are a factor for sure. But I don't think I can quantify how much that prior opinion it definitely and here here's just a statement from Baxter and I don't, I don't actually believe this, but I think it's a guy we didn't talk golden is more talented than a book. Igbuka I I don't believe such different players, but I do currently have golden ahead of him because I think golden landed in a place where he could be the wide receiver one this season.
Keith Cummings
And is there really a wide receiver one ever in Green Bay's offense?
Dan Schneier
Here's my thought. Like first off, ask Josh Jacobs, he would say there hasn't been and it's our biggest problem. Yeah, it's our biggest problem. You have a team that goes two decades without drafting a wide receiver in the first round and in my opinion came into the draft with four wide receiver twos on their team and they go spend a first round pick on a wide receiver. I can't imagine you would spend a first round pick on Matthew golden when you have four wide receiver twos. If you think Matthew golden is also a wide receiver too, it's fair. So I'm hopeful that Matt lafor has decided, you know what, we need one guy who is really good, good possible.
Keith Cummings
And I think there is upside. With Golden. I wasn't as high on him as others were personally to me like similar archetype. It's just because I think about it because I watch them back to back years, Worthy and Golden in the same offense. I thought Worthy was much faster than golden on tape and to me Worthy was better at the in breakers and just presenting a target for himself in the middle of the field. So Chiefs didn't really do much of it. Then kind of finally started to use him as more of a receiver at the end which is really good for his upside. Like I love Worthy dynasty wise even more than Rashid Rice personally. With that said, golden is somebody who obviously has still has speed and the ability to get in and out of his brakes and create separation. Packers saw that and that works for the floor system. But then at the same time I'm thinking about Heath. Like they also drafted Savion Williams who I liked a lot more than consensus because I saw route running upside and what if they have a role for him early so now he's getting targets. They still use Jacobs a lot in the run game. They become more run heavy as. So like what? Where is that like when we're looking for fantasy stars. We got it last year with Neighbors and Thomas. What was one of the big reason we got it with both those players? It was target, it was volume. I don't know that I see that volume upside for Golden.
Dan Schneier
I think if golden hits his upside he's enough better than the other guy wide receivers on the roster that those guys just suffer that we don't have four guys in the offense every week getting six targets that maybe there's just a guy getting four now maybe, maybe Romeo Dobbs or maybe Don Tavian Wicks. I mean Christian Watson's probably not even going to be around for the beginning of the year year like one of those guys falls off and hopefully we get a few more pass attempts from Jordan Love. They were one of the most run heavy teams in the NFL last year. I I want to definitely get to this last one because Ben has the the Saints logo in his image. He's playing in a league half full of Saints fans. He has 105, 111 and 203. He says where should I pick shuck and Ben if you've been listening to the show. So he's not in my top 24 even in Super Flex. But I know that when we did the quarterback preview Dan and Dave were on there and I kind of just gave a top four quarterbacks that I wanted to talk about and they said no, we've got to talk about Tyler Schuck. So you guys actually are believers in him as or to a relative extent?
Keith Cummings
To a relative extent.
Dan Schneier
My answer to this would be that Ben, you just need to make peace with the fact that you're not drafting him if he's going before any of these picks and I wouldn't even consider him with 203.
Keith Cummings
I'm with Heath on this one. Look Chuck, interesting player. I liked him a little bit I guess more than consensus but not really. I mean he ends up going 40 overall. The Saints found their guy so I think that's about fair for where he could that type of prospect could go. I don't there's rushing upside. He had a four six three and you could see sometimes he has that athleticism. There's arm talent upside. Now he's going to get a chance to start possibly early. We'll see what happens with that. With Derek Carr, I'm kind of confused about that whole car situation. He's like injured but he's not. Is he kind of just hoping that he can like fake an injury so they'll cut him he gets to play somewhere else. I don't understand it but this is not typically the quarterback for fantasy. That will work out in my opinion. Like his speed tested well. You don't see it as much on tape. I don't think he's going to be a rushing threat. He's going to be a pure pocket guy for fantasy. So you're losing that rushing floor and all the yardage points that come with it. So he has to be a really good distributor to the football and an explosive throw which he proved he has flashes of. But I'm not sold it's going to definitely happen. I'm not sold it's going to definitely happen right away for the Saints. So I wouldn't take him with any of those picks.
Dan Schneier
I have to agree with Dan, as you could already tell. Let's just finish it up with one question because I think it really matters with this whole Derek Carr and Tyler Shuck thing. It's a question from Heath, not from the chat, but Chris olave, he's now 25 years old, so still very young. Young hasn't quite given us what we were hoping for out of him. Now we don't know who his quarterback is for 20, 25 or the future. How many of the rookie wide receivers in this class would you rather have than Chris Olave?
Keith Cummings
Such a great question because I love Olave's talent. Many of these receivers would I rather.
Dan Schneier
Have Hunter for sure?
Keith Cummings
Yeah. Hunter for sure.
Dan Schneier
For sure. Sure.
Keith Cummings
No.
Dan Schneier
Okay, so. And he's. He's your wide receiver too, right?
Keith Cummings
Is he my wide receiver too? Gotta think about if I haven't he. He's probably my wide receiver too. But I can somewhat be convinced that there's a case for Luther Burden. But I don't want to go there. So I guess I'll put Ted as my receiver too. But that just shows that I'm not very high on tets fit with the Panthers that that whole. That situation. So I. I think I would take Olave over Ted.
Dan Schneier
I. I've got Olave in the golden Igbuka Burden range of the rankings. It's just feeling more and more like the guy that we all think is better than what he produces, but because of circumstances he just doesn't produce.
Keith Cummings
Injuries have been a huge factor too, right.
Dan Schneier
I mean he'll probably have a season where he has 1200 yards and eight touchdowns.
Keith Cummings
Stays out.
Dan Schneier
