This is fantasy football today from CBS Sports. What a play. Can you believe this?
Jamie
No, I can't.
Host 2
It's time to dominate your fantasy league. Off to the races and he stays at his feet. This is gonna go the distance. Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie and Heath. It's bailbag time. What's up, everybody? Welcome to fantasy football Today presented by BetMGM, the sportsbook born in Vegas. It's Thursday night, 11:41pm Eastern. And because this episode is airing on Saturday on audio version, we're going to not talk about Thursday night football because we're going to do that Friday morning on the starter Sid episode. So that's tough, tough to do. So I'll just ask this to Jamie. Jamie, what'd you do tonight?
Jamie
I watched a great football game.
Host 2
I don't want to hear about it. I don't want to hear about it. Yeah, no, it was pretty great. And we'll talk about it all on Friday morning. Mostly what you could have hoped for except, you know, obviously a couple.
Jamie
Let me, let me ask you a question. Did they watch that live or is he gonna watch in the morning?
Host 2
No, he texted me at 1104. So he, he stays up now. He's, he's a, he's a late guy now. So he watched it live. All right, so with that said, I do want to bring up something that, that Jamie and I were just talking about. We weren't exactly talking about it, but reminded me you should institute this rule if you're a commissioner. Okay, I. The leagues and I. I'm not a great commissioner.
Jamie
Here we go.
Host 2
I'm a terrible commissioner. But I have a rule. If you score the most points in the league, you are guaranteed a playoff spot. So if it's a 12 team league and six teams make it and you don't have a top six record, but you have the most points, you get the six seed. Sorry. To the team that you know by record got the six seed, that team is bounced. Most points guarantees you a playoff spot. This comes into play, you have to.
Jamie
Have the most points or the most points of the like more points than the final playoffs.
Host 2
Most points in the league.
Jamie
Most points.
Host 2
Most points in the league is in the playoffs. That's how I do it. This comes into play because one of our leagues, I'm in sixth, Jamie's in seventh. He needs me to lose. I have the most points in the league right now. I have the playoff spot. But just that's something don't. And apparently in one of the FFT open leagues. Saw it on the message board. Wasn't mine. The points leader finished in last place in one of the leagues.
Jamie
It might have been mine. I'll check.
Host 2
All right, that's insane. So I just recommend that next year for all of you, just make sure whoever scores the most points gets in the playoffs. News and notes. We're not doing it because we'll just talk about the news and notes on Friday show and if you're hearing this on Saturday, you know, I don't have the most current news and notes, but it's kind of an interesting week right now. I have something in my eye. I'm sorry. It's kind of an interesting week right now because we could have some. Some big time names. Well, they missed practice on Thursday, so. Well, whatever.
Jamie
It's mine. That's.
Host 2
That's wild.
Jamie
I just. I just beat him. He wasn't. He didn't have a shot at the playoffs, but I just. I did. That was the game I needed to clinch the one seed and yeah, his team's really good.
Host 2
Oh, man. How does that. 4 and 10, but I'm guessing most points again, I'm sorry.
Jamie
4 and 9. Yeah, most points. So he. He scored or. They scored 1506. I'm in first place with 1333.
Host 2
You gotta love fantasy football.
Jamie
All right, now they're. Well, they finished 4 and 9.
Host 2
Read some emails here. Start with Jared from Atlanta. Pick two in non ppr. Brian Thomas, Breeze Hall, Juwan Jennings and Debo Samuel.
Jamie
Brian Thomas, Bree Sawan Jennings, Devo Samuel. I mean Bries hall. If he plays as of we're recording this, he has missed two practices and Brian Thomas.
Host 2
That's non ppr.
Jamie
Just so you know, if hall is out, I'd go still Jennings over Debo.
Host 2
This is from Cody. Who to start for week 14 from this list we need three. Three wide receivers, a tight end and a flex. Mike Evans, tyree kill lad McConkey, Khalil.
Jamie
Shakir secure is the odd man out.
Host 2
This is half ppr. John who? Smith or David Najoku.
Jamie
I would go Jonas Smith, David A.
Host 2
Joker or Khalil Shakira.
Jamie
Flex Najoku.
Host 2
All right. From Lance in Phoenix, Quentin Johnston or Xavier Worthy.
Jamie
Xavier Worthy.
Host 2
That's what I said. Unless McConkey doesn't play.
Jamie
I'm sure you would say yeah, I guess.
Host 2
Okay. Oh, okay. Robert says pick four and half PPR. CD Lamb, Cooper Cup, T. Higgins, Marvin Harrison Jr. This is tough. Jerry Judy Isaac, Orendo, Jalen Warren, and Rashad White. All right, so let's eliminate Jalen Warren, eliminate the shot White. Unless Bucky Irving doesn't play. Then we're not eliminating him. Right, yeah, sure. All right, so. So let's say Irving plays. We need four out of this group. Lamb, Cup, Higgins, Harrison, Judy, Garendo, Lamb, Cup, Higgins.
Jamie
And. Wait, you said Evans in there.
Host 2
No, that was the previous one. It's got to be Garando, right? Over Harrison and Judy. Half ppr. No, doesn't have to be him.
Jamie
Well, I'm trying to think like. All right, so Garendo. Yes.
Host 2
Oh, you weren't answering. You were just saying the names.
Jamie
No, I'm thinking it through now. Like half ppr. Garando probably is the best bet here.
Host 2
The easiest ones for me are Garando, cup and Higgins.
Jamie
Yeah, I would. I was gonna. Yeah, I agree. And then I'd probably go with Judy over Lamb at this point.
Host 2
And Marvin Harrison Jr. Yeah. Okay. Hey, let's talk about BET MGM. If you haven't signed up yet for BET MGM, use the bonus code Fantasy and you'll get up to a fifteen hundred dollar first bet offer on your first wager with BetMGM. Here's how it works. Download the BetMGM app and sign up using the bonus code Fantasy. Deposit at least $10 and place your first wager on any game. And you'll receive up to $1,500 in bonus bets if your bet loses. And just make sure you use the bonus code Fantasy when you sign up. All right, back to the emails. This is from Will Q. I have a conflict. I need to drop someone to pick up a defense. I have the Broncos and I can't see myself benching them for a one week replacement. I'd rather drop a position player. I'm running back. Wealthy. Ooh. On the bench, I have Pacheco, Swift and Garendo. I'm starting Kyron and Pollard. I also have Andrews and Sutton on a buy. It is a 10 team league and I've played the waiver wire pretty well. I'm a win and get in game this week. So what? Should he drop the Broncos or should he drop Pacheco, Swift, Gorendo, Andrews or Sutton?
Jamie
I guess the first question is, and I don't know if you know the answer, is it fab or is it waivers?
Host 2
I think. I think it's waivers.
Jamie
So there's. There's one of two things if you. If you want to stick to the. The route you're going to go. It's probably. Swift is the one you're drafting, dropping. And if you're doing this, I still would do it Saturday. But if you're going to do that, I probably just drop the Broncos and hope you get them back. The thing, the thing you gotta keep an eye on with the rest of your league is like, what does everybody else need? You know, look at the playoff teams and what they need. Like if, if there's a, there's a team that doesn't need much and they may go get the Broncos. Like, what other DSTs are available? Like, I'm in a few, you know, 10 team leagues where I picked up the Eagles this weekend.
Host 2
Right.
Jamie
This week. Like, I don't know, I'm. To me, I'm dropping the defense.
Host 2
Yeah. Especially if the Ravens are available because they get the Giants next week. They're on a buy this week. So take a look, see if they're available and you can just pivot to them for next week. But you drop Swift before you drop Pacheco.
Jamie
I would, you know, I mean, if they both start to play at their best, you know, you, you know what Pacheco is capable of.
Host 2
Yeah. All right, this one is from. Oh, this is funny.
Jamie
Remember, Swift's last two games have been miserable and he gets the same matchups coming up again against Detroit, Minnesota.
Host 2
That's a great point. Okay, this is a funny email from Elon or Elan says dear Jim, Mike, Al and Joe.
Jamie
Play by play, guys.
Host 2
Yeah. Fascinating take from a therapist and speech expert on when Jamie was host versus Adam as host. As many of you know, people listen to the podcast on 1.5 speed since as wonderful podcasters, you speak in patterns that everyone can understand. But some of us take the world at an increased speed. All of you have different speech patterns ranging from fast to slow, and I am, I assume you are aware of them. For example, Jamie and Dan are fast talkers, and Adam and Dave are slower and Heath is glacier slow. When Adam hosts the show, there is a pace that everyone follows in their speech. But when Jamie hosts it, that pace speeds up. Since he speaks faster, it even forces Heath and Dave to speak faster. All that is funny because while the words move faster, when Jamie hosts, the podcasts are longer. Who would have thought? Oh, wait, I cut off his question. Let me, let me go back and find his question. But I did think that was pretty interesting from an expert. Jamie, you speed everyone up. How about that?
Jamie
I mean, I know that I speak fast and unfortunately, sometimes I tend to mumble. I apologize for that. I Do think. Yes. That Heath and Dave probably were trying to keep up with me and knowing that I speak fast, I thought I could squeeze in a few more topics.
Host 2
All right. Now, the question was, I know we look at the amount of plays a team calls, but have there ever been an important fantasy take on for a speech therapist? You got a lot of typos here, man. Has it ever.
Jamie
That's why he's a speech therapist, not a. Right.
Host 2
Yeah, exactly. Has there ever been an important fantasy take on the pace of plays in terms of teams who snap faster, leading to higher fantasy points? Wondering if that has ever been looked at.
Jamie
I mean, yeah. You. You do a good job of pointing this out from time to time when you notice it. You know, I. I'm trying to think of the team that you. Tennessee maybe was one. Right.
Host 2
That I know. Okay, here's. I can tell you right now, average play.
Jamie
Oh, Seattle. I'm sorry. Seattle was one that you talked about quite a bit this off season. That how slow they were.
Host 2
So the jets, like Aaron. This is an Aaron Rodgers trademark, right?
Jamie
Yes.
Host 2
The jets are by far the slowest team. I have it right now on true media teams who have the most time left on the play clock to the least when they snap the ball.
Jamie
He. He is notorious for letting the clock run.
Host 2
Yep. So he's the lowest. San Francisco and Philadelphia are second and third. Least amount of time left on the play clock. They're the slowest teams in between snaps. I mean, it's interesting because the 49ers, the Eagles and the Bills are all bottom five. The packers are bottom seven. The Bengals are 24th, the Dolphins are 23rd. The Ravens are 22nd. The Vikings are 21st. In other words, it's not such a bad thing. You see a lot of great offenses here that are taking a lot of time off the play clock. The fastest teams in between snaps are the Cowboys, Falcons, commanders, Chiefs and Seahawks. So I think that's probably why it doesn't get talked about that much, because Aaron Rodgers has had the best offenses in football or, you know, been up there for so long. But I guess I'm just learning. I'm really just doing this now. I'm not trying to act like an expert, but it doesn't seem like there's a lot of correlation between fantasy production and this particular stats. Great question, though. Next email is from Dan the FFT fan. By the way, what do you think Dan was doing tonight that he couldn't come on the show?
Jamie
Oh, wow. He was karaoke.
Host 2
He was playing poker But I'd love to know. I'm going to text him and find out what his karaoke song would be. Okay, I need two from this group walking in Memphis. Why? Just. No, no, I don't think he knows that song.
Jamie
Oh, that's true.
Host 2
JSN, Jacoby Myers, Juwan Jennings, and Khalil Shakir. Pick two. JSN, Jacoby Myers,. Juwan Jennings, Khalil Shakir.
Jamie
It's easy for me, Myers and jsn, but Myers popped up on the injury report on Thursday, so just keep an eye on it.
Host 2
And Aaron Jones or Chuba Hubbard at flex.
Jamie
Aaron Jones or Chuba Hubbard? I'm not a Chuba Hubbard fan for week 14, so. Aaron Jones.
Host 2
Yeah, Aaron Jones. I mean, I. I would start Jones too, but he has one carry in his last six games longer than 13 or 14 yards and was against the Bears. Let's see, we got Paul McComber. I need a quarterback this week. I can get Russell Wilson, Geno Smith, Aaron Rodgers. Wait, hold on. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Aaron Rodgers. I have a sound effect. I want to play. Forget it. I. Okay. Geno Smith, Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Jameis Winston, Derek Carr, Kirk Cousins, Will Levis. Who would you go with?
Jamie
I would go with Jamis. If you're just looking for this week. If you're looking for the next two weeks, I would go with Will Levis because he gets Jacksonville and Cincinnati in back to back games.
Host 2
Yeah, so he said. I know you all seem to agree that it was Winston, but I'm really nervous about the Steelers D now that Highsmith is going to play and his habit of throwing to the other team. So you want to talk a little bit more about your feelings on. On this. On James Winston against a team that did so well against Lamar Jackson. And they're tough matchup.
Jamie
They're a very tough matchup. And, and look, it's. It's an angry Steelers defense after they lost to Jameis, you know, and they're in their building, but I think the weather is going to be much better comparatively. That's not saying very much because the weather was so horrible last time. You're hoping for volume, you know, and. And typically when Jameis has volume, he's pretty good. So I still think he's got the most upside. But if you want to take a safer route, then, you know, you want. Will Levis or Russell Wilson would be the two fallback options.
Host 2

Welcome back. Okay, this is a week 16. Is it week 16? Yeah, week 16 question. Okay, so from Michael, he's got the number one seed, so week 14 doesn't matter. Week 15 doesn't matter. Here are his quarterbacks in this 12 team league in week 16. Jaden Daniels, who has the Eagles, Jared Goff, who has the Bears on the road, and Brock Purdy who's at Miami. For what it's worth, the Bears are second best against quarterbacks. The Dolphins are third best. The Eagles aren't are like seventh best, but I personally think they're the toughest matchup. He also could play Cooper Rush who has Tampa bay and Aiden O'Connell who has Jacksonville. Would you play them? He didn't say it's a super flex league, but I'm thinking it must be. Would you play Cooper Rush against Tampa bay or Aiden O'Connell against Jacksonville over any of those three. Jaden Daniels against the Eagles, Jared Goff at Chicago, Brock Purdy at Miami.
Jamie
Probably not. But let's see what happens over the next two games because Cooper Rush has a great schedule. He gets Cincinnati this week and then Carolina next week. So if he has two strong games, you might consider it. OConnell's got a great matchup this week against Tampa Bay. So let's see what he does. You know, if he comes out of this game with a strong performance. Also, it's not awful. You know, both guys have shown some flashes. I mean, look what O'Connell just did going into Arrowhead and what he did against the Chiefs And Cooper rush has been 18 plus points in two of his last three. So, you know, wackier things have happened, right, that you've used some. Some crazy quarterbacks to help you win some fantasy leagues.
Host 2
This is from Brett, non PPR league. Brett says dear Mark, Joe, Abdul and Marty.
Jamie
Mark, Joe, Abdul and Marty. Anytime I hear Marty, I always think back to the future.
Host 2
It's not that I'll tell you their defensive linemen from a different era.
Jamie
Mark, Joe, Abdul and.
Host 2
Yeah.
Jamie
Oh, the Jets.
Host 2
Yeah. Yes. The sack exchange. New York sack exchange. Playing for division title this weekend. Neighbors or Garrett Wilson in non ppr.
Jamie
Neighbors or Garrett Wilson? I'd go neighbors. No, you know what? They both are like, allergic to the end zone at this point.
Host 2
Yeah, I think it's non ppr. I'd probably go. Probably go Wilson.
Jamie
I mean, Wilson's got the tougher matchup. They both have crappy quarterbacks.
Host 2
Yeah. Oh, man, that's a tough one. But you know what? Maybe we can start one at flex because he's got Hubbard etn, Keenan Allen or the other guy at Flex.
Jamie
I mean, look, Keenan Allen's got three touchdowns in his last two games. I'm probably. I still got neighbors in Wilson.
Host 2
All right. From Paul Tua or Mahomes. Four point per passing touchdown.
Jamie
Oh, Tua.
Host 2
From King Noel in Boca Raton, I picked up Jameis Winston. Should I start him over Kyler Murray?
Jamie
Yes.
Host 2
And going forward in the playoffs, I. Maybe let's. Let's take it.
Jamie
I'm gonna go back to Kyler if he's semi competent this week, which, look, I think he'll have a similar game to what he had last week. You know, 17, 18 points, gets new England at home. Should be a great matchup from.
Host 2
This even. Is this even a thing? Ben Gucci says Adam is the type of guy that every time he goes home, he turns on his GPS because he likes hearing welcome as he pulls into the driveway.
Jamie
Be news to me.
Host 2
Yeah, I don't know. Like, I don't know which GPS does that. And from Alex, would you start Tyrone Tracy over Garrett Wilson, Jacoby Myers or A.J. brown?
Jamie
Maybe Garrett Wilson. But no, no chance. The other two.
Host 2
Okay, yeah, that's exactly what I said. We're going to talk about it on tomorrow's show, but we're going to talk about it on Friday's show, which is tomorrow for us, but yesterday for many of you listening. What did you make of the Giants running back usage last week with them basically getting the same amount of carries, but tracy getting about 75% of the snaps.
Jamie
He's their guy. You know, I, I understand the punishment to start the game, you know, after the back to back fumbles, back to back weeks of fumbles, you know. So okay, he, Singletary started the game. You see what Tracy does, You know, he got the goal line opportunity when Drew Lock was, you know, take the touchdown was taken away from him on, on the first run. I, I, I just think Tracy's number two running back rest away.
Host 2
Yeah. Ryan says Adam is, Adam is the type of guy to buy orange tic Tacs and eat them all in a few minutes like candy. Yeah. Do they have any breath benefits? I really think they're just candy.
Jamie
The colored ones?
Host 2
Yeah. The orange ones? Yeah.
Jamie
No, those are candy, right?
Host 2
Yeah. Like you're not going to freshen your breath with orange tic Tacs.
Jamie
No, it's just the mint ones.
Host 2
They're delicious. Well, with that said, let's get to the fantasy cops. We got some good ones today. First one's from our buddy Andrew. He says Isaac orendo went for $85 this week to the last place team. This team hasn't spent $1 all season of his fab. He's been checked out for weeks. The commish who's fighting for a playoff spot has $0 in fab left. He told the last place team to bid $85, which is one more than the next highest fab available, convincing him he might be a good keeper and will help him in the consolation playoffs. The commissioner did this to prevent a playoff contending team from getting garendo. What do the fantasy cops say about the commissioner funneling his waiver blocking strategy through the last place team?
Jamie
So this has been documented.
Host 2
What do you mean?
Jamie
Like there's proof of the commissioner saying this to the last place manager.
Host 2
I get the sense it'd be kind of weird to just make that up, right?
Jamie
Yeah. So I mean if you, if you see this has happened, then this is collusion is the definition of collusion, is it? Yes. You're telling someone to do something else to benefit you.
Host 2
So I know we get this question a lot, right? Is hey, it's week 14 and this guy hasn't set his lineup and the commissioner told this manager, or it doesn't even have to be the commissioner. This other guy told this manager to set his lineup because I'm facing him and he needs me to lose and this and that, you know what I mean? This is kind of the same thing. It's a bit of a gray area to me. I Don't know that I consider this collusion. It's worse that it's the commissioner doing it, but if it hadn't been the commissioner, would you see that? Do you hear that?
Jamie
Are you Adam Gates? What's going on?
Host 2
I have no idea what's going on. Oh, my God.
Jamie
You turned Adam Gates at the press conference.
Host 2
All right, I gotta go. I gotta go. I'll be right back.
Jamie
Where you go?
Host 2
Do you have the notes? No, I sent them to you.
Jamie
There is two of us.
Host 2
Where you. Strange sound in my house. What the heck was that? Oh, my God. I wish I could take he.
Jamie
See, Guano's home with you.
Host 2
I gotta go. I gotta go. I gotta make sure everything's okay. You have the notes? I'll be back in like two minutes. All right, so anyway, I'll wait for Jamie to pull up the notes.
Jamie
Which fantasy cops were yet the first one. All right, so this is the Garenda one. All right, so what can we do to solve this problem here? Put your comments in the chat. I'll read them. If you think that the commissioner here should be. Where did he go anyway? So Isaac Corando went for 85 to the last place team. I think that what should happen here is I don't know if there's really anything that could happen here. I mean, like, Adam's right, you know, this is one of those situations where you can point somebody in the right direction. You can't necessarily make the move for them. It's not like he. The commissioner made the transaction. The commissioner just said, you have your money left to spend spending on. On this player. And, you know, I'm certainly not going to pull Heath and say you have to go and strip the commissioner of his. Of his duties. But it's just, you hate to see stuff like this happen because it's just, you know, somebody that's not paying attention and then the. The last place team, you know, makes a move. So I'm gonna say nothing happens here, unfortunately. So sorry, Andrew. I guess you're just out of luck that that manager decided to make that particular move. All right, I'm gonna save this one because it's a little long. We'll go to. Oh, there's only three of them. So we'll read the long one. All right, so this is from Joey. Okay, Fantasy cops, I have a fantastic one for you. Back in week four, in one of my dynasty leagues, I made the decision to tank. I traded Jonathan Taylor. And the understanding of the rules at the time was that I had to start Active players. And as long as I did that, I wasn't breaking any rules. One of the league co commissioners texted me saying that the league was pissed I was benching all of my good players. But since I wasn't breaking any rules, there isn't anything he or the league could do. Fast forward a few weeks, and the other co commissioner started Richardson. One of the weeks he was benched, no one said anything. Even though this was a violation of what was understood, of what we understood was the rule.
Host 2
You want to take over here?
Jamie
Yeah, go ahead.
Host 2
This is a crazy fantasy cops, by the way. Yeah, so anyway, dude, I don't know. And I have to. As soon as I have to go back and check something because I got to make sure, like, everyone's safe because this is insane.
Jamie
Safe.
Host 2
Yeah, there's something like crazy going on upstairs. I don't know. I'm gonna. You know what? Anyway, okay, so this guy. Where were you in this?
Jamie
The co commissioner with Richardson.
Host 2
Okay, so Richardson, I noticed that the cocomish had Richardson benched. That has. Richardson had benched his entire lineup. It wasn't starting a single player, which is a clear violation. I see this. And based off the precedent that was set by him and the other league members starting by week players, I decided to bench my whole lineup too. And this is where things go off the rails. One of the league members dug up the original rules that somehow had been lost when the first commissioner dropped out of the league. The original rules stated that we had to start our most competitive lineups, thus making what I had been doing illegal. So the league decided that they were going to hold this rule now in week 12 and go back and change everything going back to week four when I made the trade or when I. When it started tanking, they changed his lineup for every week from week four to week 12 based on the projections. They gave him like, his optimal lineup. They went back and so they eliminated his tanking by digging up the old rules and basically changing his lineup for the previous eight weeks or nine weeks. Crazy, terrible league. Yeah, I'm sorry. That was so disjointed. All right, so let me read this one for you here. I am the commissioner of a guillotine league. This is from Nicholas. There are four teams left, and only one team has any fab left. All the other teams have $0. The team manager who had fab, he texted me several hours before the waiver claim deadline asking if he was entering his waiver bid correctly. He wanted to acquire five players. And since the rest of the league had no fab left. He only needed to bid $1 to win each player. He texted me a screenshot of his bid asking if he had entered it correctly. He said he had not needed to do multiple player bids in one week prior to this, so he wanted to make sure that he did this correctly. This is the first year any of us in this league have used this platform, so none of us are experts at it. I also use the mobile site on my blah blah blah. So anyway, I was busy with work and I responded to his text saying, yeah, I think that looks right, you should win the bids. Several hours later, waivers cleared and he only got one player he bid on and the other and two of the other players were claimed by other teams with zero dollar bids. It turned out that he the bid he actually made was just a single player bid and the other four players were the backup contingency players. So when he won the bid on his first choice, all the contingency players were wiped out. This team manager now wants me to give him the two players he did not get since he clearly stated his intentions prior to the waiver deadline, but just made an error in entering his claim. I'm torn on what to do because on one hand he clearly told me he wanted to acquire these players and sent me a screenshot with $1 bids next to each player. And that I told him looks right even though it wasn't. But on the other hand, it's week 14. I feel like you should know how to correctly make a waiver claim.
Jamie
It's such a tough one because clearly there's evidence of said manager trying to get this done right. And I think if there's other examples of people having issues with their waiver claims, then you allow it to happen. If this is the only time there's ever been an issue. And granted sometimes we get in these situations, you know. So I'm gonna guess based on how you described it, so they tried to make the same ad drop or I guess. No, it doesn't make sense. No, they were trying to.
Host 2
Yeah, keep going.
Jamie
They were. I'm pretty sure I'm aware of the site that they're on because it's a little wonky how you set the contingency drops as opposed to just they would have had to make multiple ad drops, you know, so if you're adding, you know, Devonte Adams and then you want to add Garrett Wilson, then you want to add Cooper cup and etc, you have to add those. But you can't just be contingency players for that. Where are you going now? In any event, I would say that if there's any other examples of something happening with ad drops, you allow the the screenshot to hold. If this is the only time it's ever happened, then unfortunately it's your user error.
Host 2
You say don't give them the players.
Jamie
If there's other, you know, situations that have happened throughout the season where, okay, people have had some issues making these ad drops, then, you know, otherwise I think you just gotta go chalk it up to user. I don't think the commissioners allow it.
Host 2
I don't think you're wrong. I probably, as commissioner would have given him the players because so obviously that's what he wanted to do. I would have shared the screenshots with everybody. It was his intention. He has the fab. He benefited from keeping his fab. Everybody else was out. This is not an easy one.
Jamie
I don't disagree with you. Yeah, but it's, it, it's, it's a tough call because I guess, I guess the reason you do allow that to happen is because if you are the commissioner, you should know how the process should work and because the manager checked with you, they should be allowed to do it.
Host 2

Jamie
Does your wife know the sound that's happening?
Host 2
Yeah, well, she said, what was the sound? I don't really know. It sounded like something was on the.
Jamie
Roof, but I don't think I'm making that face easily.
Host 2
Oh, it sounded like something was on the roof, but I don't think the roof is above me. I think there's a. There's like a storage area above me, but that's kind of scary to me. Anywho. So Apple podcast. Oh, yeah. Danny Mac says dear. Frank, Ricky, Ron and Brennan.
Jamie
Hockey.
Host 2
Frank Ricard. Ricky Bobby.
Jamie
Oh, yeah.
Host 2
Ron Burgundy and don't know Brennan's last name. Start four in PPR. Tyreek Hill. Calvin Ridley. DeAndre Hopkins. Aaron Jones. DeAndre Swift. Jerry Judy, Adam Thielen, Judy.
Jamie
Who are the first two again?
Host 2
Tyreek and Ridley.
Jamie
Yeah, those three. And Aaron Jones.
Host 2
Okay. Unfortunately, that's all we have for Apple. Podcast, so you can always get your questions in there. It's a good way to get your question read on the show. I get a lot more emails than I do Apple podcasts, so the odds are better of you getting your question read on the air. If you just leave us a five star review with a question. I would publish it on Tuesday at the latest because it takes a while to populate. All right, YouTube, let's do it. What's it, Santa?
Jamie
Oh, the comments are hysterical.
Host 2
It's David. A Santa suit holding an iguana. Okay, yeah, look, here's the thing. I would love to take a break and go check it, but I can't. I can't just leave Jamie. He doesn't even have access to the chat, so he can't bring up questions. But I do need you guys to ask some questions here because I'm not really seeing any. Just comments about what the sound was. So. Yeah, anyway, let's. Let's get. Here we go. Would you drop Kyler Murray for Will Levis? I have Jaden Daniels as a starter.
Jamie
I mean, you need a starter for this week. I like Levis better. So you're just unfortunately giving Kyler to somebody else? Most likely. So if you can maybe carry three quarterbacks, I would do that. But unfortunately, if you want to, you need to win and get in. Then I would go with Levis.
Host 2
Dear. Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Mike. I don't know Harrison or Garendo this week.
Jamie
Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Mike. I would go with Garendo.
Host 2
This is Bell Biv Devoe. Oh, now you know, I never would have gotten that. Are we worried about Breeze hall and Mike Evans status? Well, it's not a great question for Saturday, but for Thursday night, Evans.
Jamie
No. Breeze Hall. A little bit.
Host 2
Like that's a mean.
Jamie
That is a great callback right there.
Host 2
Yeah, I can't say it out loud. Lamb or Judy? Judy Neighbors or James Connor? PPR Neighbors. Would you drop Spears for Charbonne?
Jamie
Yes. Especially with Thursday's practice situation with Kenneth.
Host 2
Walker, Purdy or Jameis, James Ken Walker or Brian Thomas Jr.
Jamie
Assuming everybody's healthy, I would go with Walker.
Host 2
Et Rico Dowdle, Jennings etn or Khalil Shakir.
Jamie
So I said this on Thursday morning's show that we wanted to see what the Bengals practice report was going to be and they have since ruled out Logan Wilson for the rest of the season. So Rico Dowdle to the moon.
Host 2
Okay. I don't. Okay. So Nick Westbrook, Aquina or Devonte Smith? Half ppr.
Jamie
Devonte Smith he's got the setup that he needs. One guy is missing of the core.
Host 2
Three Lamb, Aaron Jones or Jacoby Myers.
Jamie
Jacoby assuming he's healthy.
Host 2
And last one is Breeze or Naji Harris.
Jamie
PBR assuming Breeze is fine, it's Breeze. If not, Naji's not a bad pivot. Pivot play.
Host 2
Okay, I hope to talk to everybody on Friday. I will. Have a great night.
Jamie
I can't wait for tomorrow's show.
Host 2
Thanks.
Jamie
Can't wait for the screen grabs. The screen grabs of you when you were. When I tell you you look like Adam Gates, you're like.
Host 2
Have a good night, everybody. Thanks, Jamie. Thanks to all of you for watching and listening. We'll see you.

Fantasy Football Today: Mailbag! Plus Fantasy Cops! (12/07 Episode) – Detailed Summary
Release Date: December 7, 2024
Host(s): Adam Aizer, Dave Richard, Jamey Eisenberg, Heath Cummings, and the rest of the Fantasy Football Today crew.
In this episode of Fantasy Football Today, the hosts dive into the Mailbag segment, addressing listener questions and providing strategic advice for managing fantasy teams. Additionally, the Fantasy Cops segment tackles ethical dilemmas and potential rule violations within fantasy leagues. The episode is designed to equip fantasy managers with the insights needed to dominate their leagues and resolve disputes fairly.
Adam Aizer kicks off the episode by discussing a crucial rule adjustment that can significantly impact league outcomes:
Adam [04:08]: "If you score the most points in the league, you are guaranteed a playoff spot. So if it's a 12-team league and six teams make it and you don't have a top six record, but you have the most points, you get the six seed."
This rule ensures that the highest-scoring team secures a playoff position, even if their win-loss record isn't within the top tier. Jamey Eisenberg adds clarity to the discussion:
Jamey [04:36]: "Have the most points in the league is in the playoffs. That's how I do it."
The hosts shared an anecdote highlighting the rule's impact, where the points leader finished last in one league, underscoring the rule's significance and potential for dramatic shifts in playoff standings.
The Mailbag segment is the heart of the episode, where listeners pose specific questions about their fantasy lineups. The hosts provide tailored advice, incorporating player performance, matchups, and strategic considerations.
Listener Cody asks:
Cody [06:03]: "Mike Evans, Tyreek Hill, McConkey, Khalil – Should I start him?"
Jamey responds with clear recommendations:
Jamey [06:45]: "Shakir suggests Sekou the odd man out."
Adam advises:
Adam [08:00]: "If Hall is out, I'd go still Jennings over Debo."
Listener Will Q presents a dilemma involving the Broncos' defense and available bench players:
Will Q [08:52]: "Should I drop the Broncos or drop Pacheco, Swift, Gorendo, Andrews, or Sutton?"
Jamey provides a nuanced response:
Jamey [09:56]: "If you want to stick to the route you're going to go, it's probably Swift you're drafting, dropping. Otherwise, I would probably just drop the Broncos and hope you get them back."
Heath Cummings adds:
Heath [10:42]: "I'm dropping the defense."
The discussion highlights the importance of evaluating player performance trends and matchup strengths before making roster changes.
Listener Jared seeks advice on Week 14 starts:
Jared [11:14]: "Pick four and half PPR. CD Lamb, Cooper Cup, T. Higgins, Marvin Harrison Jr., etc."
Jamey and Adam break down the options, emphasizing:
Jamey [08:39]: "I would go with Judy over Lamb at this point."
Adam [08:33]: "The easiest ones for me are Garendo, Cup, and Higgins."
This exchange underscores the strategic choices fantasy managers must make based on player health, consistency, and positional needs.
Listener Mark inquires about starting quarterbacks for Week 16:
Mark [21:01]: "Jaden Daniels vs. Eagles, Jared Goff vs. Bears, Brock Purdy vs. Miami – whom to start?"
Jamey recommends:
Jamey [22:07]: "Would you play them? He didn't say it's a super flex league, but I'm thinking it must be."
Adam suggests:
Adam [24:07]: "I would go with Jamis. If you're looking for the next two weeks, I would go with Will Levis because he gets Jacksonville and Cincinnati in back-to-back games."
The duo analyzes each quarterback's potential performance based on team defenses and upcoming matchups, offering practical advice for maximizing points.
The Fantasy Cops segment delves into listener-reported ethical issues within fantasy leagues, offering guidance on handling potential collusion and unfair practices.
Listener Andrew reports a scenario where a league commissioner allegedly manipulates waiver bids through the last-place team:
Andrew [27:04]: "Isaac orendo went for $85 this week to the last place team. The commissioner told the last-place team to bid $85 to prevent a playoff contending team from getting Garendo."
Jamey analyzes the situation:
Jamey [27:16]: "This is collusion. This is the definition of collusion, is it? Yes. You're telling someone to do something else to benefit you."
Adam expresses concern over the ruling:
Adam [28:11]: "If you see this has happened, then this is collusion. It's a bit of a gray area to me."
The hosts conclude that while evidence points to collusion, enforcing league rules remains challenging, especially when the commissioner is involved.
Another listener, Joey, shares a contentious experience in a dynasty league where rule enforcement was inconsistent:
Joey [29:55]: "The league decided that they were going to hold this rule now in week 12 and go back and change everything going back to week four."
Jamey offers his perspective:
Jamey [35:02]: "If there's other examples of people having issues with their waiver claims, then you allow it to happen. Otherwise, chalk it up to user error."
Adam concurs, emphasizing the difficulty in retroactively enforcing rules:
Adam [36:22]: "I don't think the commissioners allow it. This is not an easy one."
The discussion highlights the complexities commissioners face in maintaining fairness and consistency, especially when historical rules are uncovered or reinterpreted.
Listener Nicholas, a commissioner of a guillotine league, seeks advice after a waiver claim mishap:
Nicholas [34:32]: "He texted me a screenshot of his bid asking if he had entered it correctly. But it turned out he made an error in entering his claim."
Jamey responds thoughtfully:
Jamey [35:49]: "If there's any other examples of something happening with ad drops, you allow the screenshot to hold. If this is the only time, then unfortunately it's your user error."
Adam adds:
Adam [36:05]: "I probably, as commissioner, would have given him the players because he clearly wanted to do it. This is not an easy one."
The segment underscores the importance of clear communication and understanding of platform mechanics to prevent and address waiver issues.
The hosts engage with questions from different platforms, including Apple Podcasts and YouTube, offering real-time advice to a broader audience.
Listener Danny Mac poses a challenging lineup decision:
Danny Mac [39:32]: "Start four in PPR. Tyreek Hill, Calvin Ridley, DeAndre Hopkins, Aaron Jones, DeAndre Swift, Jerry Judy, Adam Thielen, Judy. Who do I start?"
Jamey breaks down the options:
Jamey [40:08]: "Who are the first two again?"
Adam: "Tyreek and Ridley."
Jamey: "Yeah, those three and Aaron Jones."
The interaction emphasizes the importance of prioritizing high-scoring, consistent performers in PPR formats.
The hosts address live comments, providing instant feedback:
Comment: "Would you drop Kyler Murray for Will Levis?"
Jamey [41:36]: "I like Levis better. So you're just unfortunately giving Kyler to somebody else."
Comment: "Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Mike. I don't know Harrison or Garendo this week."
Jamey [41:57]: "I would go with Garendo."
The real-time assessments offer listeners actionable insights, reinforcing the podcast's value as a go-to resource for fantasy football strategies.
As the episode concludes, the hosts remind listeners of upcoming content and encourage participation through various platforms:
Adam [43:26]: "I can't wait for tomorrow's show."
Jamey [44:24]: "Thanks to all of you for watching and listening. We'll see you."
Listeners are encouraged to join live Q&A sessions on YouTube and submit their questions via Apple Podcasts for consideration in future episodes.
