This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports.
Dave
What a play.
Adam
Can you believe this?
Dave
No, I can't.
Adam
It's time to dominate your Fantasy league.
Jamie
Off to the races and he stays on his feet.
Adam
This is going to go the distance. Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie and Heath. This is not how the fantasy championship week is supposed to be, okay? We've already had three teams score six or fewer points in four games over the last five weeks combined. Five teams scored six or fewer points. This is awful. And Dave is sick. It gave Dave a cold. I'm sorry. Dave, how are you?
Jamie
I. I think I'll be okay. Adam, I appreciate the concern. I am sick from horrible football. What the hell is going on? You know, my dad, my dad grew up in Chicago, so he's a Bears fan. He lives in Texas now. He's a Texans fan. His two favorite teams combined for five points, two of which came from the defense.
Adam
Oh, man.
Jamie
I think it just. In the case of the, the Wednesday games and the Thursday games, this, this is an example of teams that just, they, they can't get prepared. They can't get their act together on a very short week.
Dave
This was bad for Baltimore and Kansas City.
Jamie
Yeah, well, those are teams that actually like, function well and they both played on the road, so they deserve extra credit for that. But Seattle couldn't get their act together. They only scored six, Chicago three. Houston might as well have scored zero. And they were at home. Chicago was at home. These teams just like at least New Orleans back on Monday. Remember Monday back on. At least New Orleans has an excuse. They played with like an XFL team. But this is just horrible. This is a terrible product that the NFL is giving us late in the year. All these teams on three and four days rest.
Adam
Well, it didn't help that it was rainy as well. And that could be a theme of the weekend because it is going to rain in America this weekend, especially the east Coast. But anyway, we welcome you to fantasy football today presented by BetMGM, the sportsbook. Born in Vegas, we're gonna look ahead and be optimists here for Carolina, Tampa Bay, Green Bay, Minnesota, Atlanta, Washington, Detroit, San Francisco, Dallas, Philadelphia with no CD Lamb and Las Vegas at New Orleans, likely without Derek Carr and Alvin Camara. Those guys still not practicing. And we do have some pretty interesting injury updates like the Giants injury updates with Malik Neighbors being a game time decision and Tyrone Tracy still not practicing, of course. Tony Pollard missing practice once again, T. Higgins questionable. We'll tell you what matters, what doesn't. Terry McLaurin hopefully should be fine. He got in a limited session yesterday. The packers wide receivers will update you on them, but just I Don't know if we have any other thoughts. Thoughts on that game. Six to three, the star of the game. I don't think anybody outscored DJ Moore. He had 12.2 PPR fantasy points. He was the best player in the game. He was better than the quarterbacks. He was better than Zach Charbonnet. It was awful. I guess I'll just ask that. That big generic question like, hey, Jamie, do you change your strategy if you had a bunch of duds go so far?
Dave
I guess it depends on, you know, you're clearly facing a great team because it's a championship, so you got to assume that the other team's roster is loaded. So, you know, I guess in the case of player versus player, you know, if you're looking at somebody that has more upside. So let's say it's like a Jameson Williams versus a, I don't know, Khalil Shakir. Khalil Shakir, Yeah. So you could, you can go that route if you want to. You know, if you're just. What the hell, you know, you've already. You're already. You're mentally prepared for second place at this point. You know, when you see something like this happen. I know, like in your case, Adam, you had multiple players go, right? So you had.
Adam
Oh, yeah, I've got, I've got Joe Mixon, Jackson Smith and Jigba and Kaimi Fairbairn for 11, 11 points against Heath. I am a 32%. Yeah, right.
Dave
So it's a good year, though. In a situation like that, you know, you, you maybe throw out some Hail Marys and hope for the best. I'm in one league where, you know, starting Charbonnet and, And jsn, screw you guys. And that didn't help. So I'm not gonna change anything, you know, so that was league I mentioned yesterday where I'm, you know, stuck between Malik Neighbors and. And Drake London, you know, and I'm probably going to pivot to London now because of the things I said. I was concerned about London, you know, not 100% healthy. Okay, well, neighbors not healthy now and the Lattimore situation. So Lattimore not playing or at least assuming he's not going to play. So those guys were back to back in my rankings. I'm going to flip it. I'm going to put London ahead of Neighbors. I'm going to play London. So, you know, that's not necessarily because I'm losing. That's because of, you know, circumstances. So I think it, you know, if you're, if you're, you know, quarterbacks. You have two on your, on your team, you know, and the one guy, you know, like again, I don't want to keep bringing up my teams, but you know, this isn't because of a, a scoring situation, but having the debate of Baker versus Darnold versus Nicks, you know, so if, if there's somebody you think has more upside on your bench, play the guy you think has more upside at this point, not just, you know, the guy that has the safer floor.
Adam
Oh, this is a great callback, Dave, to last week's joke. This is Johnny Airport says this is a ding dong screw you week.
Jamie
The whole game?
Adam
Yeah, the whole week so far.
Jamie
Dig dog.
Adam
Screw you. All right, well, anyway, there are, there are still plenty of decisions to be made and, and you know, and lineups to set and so on and so forth. And we'll help you out on Sunday as well. Sunday morning, 11:30am eastern@YouTube.com fantasy football today where you can watch all of our programming. YouTube.com fantasy football today and our programming is not going anywhere after week 18. We'll still have three episodes per week. We'll, we'll, you know, be with you throughout the, the whole year. We're no days off. We're a Belichickian podcast News and notes. All right, so Anthony Richardson Belichick take.
Jamie
A whole year off not by, not.
Adam
On his own volition. Anthony Richardson foot and back issues, has not practiced and the Colts are optimistic he will play. And then you've got, you know, the Flacco effect and what he could be or, or at least what he could mean for Downs and Pittman. Dave, what's your read on this situation here? Colts at Giants Sunday as long as.
Jamie
There'S optimism that Richardson will play, I, I'm not worrying about Flacco. The concern now is are they just going to have Richardson hand off and maybe throw more than 15 passes. Maybe he throws 20 passes weather pending score pending all that stuff. But I'd like to see him practice on Friday. I'd like to call him a good start, but this does make me nervous going into the weekend.
Dave
Okay, I dropped him a few spots in the rankings behind Purdy.
Adam
Okay, that's Anthony Richardson. Jalen hurts. It looks all signs are pointing to Kenny Pickett. I believe eight of his 10, eight of his first 10 past attempts went to A.J. brown. We'll talk about that game. Derek Carr probably not going to play still and Dorian Thompson Robinson will start. So the running back news, Alvin Camara missed practice, hasn't been ruled out, but he missed practice. Isaac Garendo practiced. When are you guys going to rank Garendo? What will. What will it take?
Dave
He was limited yesterday, so we usually wait till full practice. I hope he gets in a full practice on Friday. But the first thing, you know, I get the transcripts for the 49ers. First thing I looked for was what he said about Corindo. Kyle Shanahan. And when he said limited, I was like, oh, man, sounds like he's trending in the right direction.
Adam
Ramandre Stevenson could get benched. And I almost said Antonio Pierce, Gerard Mayo. Pardon me. He. He did not rule that out. So I think you should probably not start Ramandre Stevenson on Saturday. Denver running backs. Yeah, they're, like, all healthy. I already talked about that yesterday, and we don't want to start them. Oh, Gus. Ed. Okay, this is the big one. Gus Edwards out with the ankle injury. J.K. dobbins Limited, and they got a great matchup against the Patriots. Dave, what are we thinking about the Chargers running backs? Right now?
Jamie
You have to make sure that Dobbins gets activated off of ir, but once he does, you've got a good running back with fresh legs coming back to a favorable matchup with a team that's desperate to get their run game going. I would actually be somewhat excited to start J.K. dobbins. It would be with number 2 RB expectations. I feel like his ceiling could be 15 or 16 PPR points, but I still think he's going to end up getting a good amount of work against a bad Patriots run defense. I'd start him.
Dave
And. And just if you, you know, we. We've said this a lot. Like, you know, I would have told anybody this yesterday. I know Dave was saying the same thing. You know, drop the Ken Walkers of the world, the guys that aren't playing this weekend on your roster, and pick up Kamani Vidal. There's no guarantee that Dobbins is going to get activated. You know, it seems like that's gonna happen, but, I mean, what if they get to, you know, Saturday night? You know, hey, my. My knee's still not great, and Edwards is now out. Like, could be one of these Hail Marys that you, you know, might. Might have to play. You know, so I picked up By Don a few weeks.
Jamie
Sure. And if you pick up Vidal. Let's say you pick up Vidal on Friday. Like, pause the podcast right now. Go pick up Vidal and then come back to. If he's. If Dobbins is active, you'll cut Vidal pregame for somebody else?
Adam
Yeah, yeah. He's 32 rostered. Kamani Vidal, I believe it is Vidal. And if he started and Dobbins were out or let's. And Hassan Haskins is another guy that would be in the mix.
Jamie
But if Dobby plays, he. Even when I'm just. Even when other guys are out, he barely.
Adam
But we've never seen them without Gus and Dobbins, have we?
Dave
No, that's fair.
Adam
Videl would be.
Dave
He did have their second most explosive play from the backfield since Dobbins was out last week.
Adam
Would you start Vidal if Dobbins were out or a Raiders running back against the Saints?
Dave
I'd still start a Raiders running back but like it, you know, when you're talking about like Michael Carter if he starts. When you're talking about Vidal if he starts, you know, these are high end flexes, you know. So again, depends on what you're looking at. But you know, if you're scrambling for running backs at this point, you know, and several people are, it wouldn't surprise me if he's better than the Raiders running backs. It's just, you know, we haven't seen much from him production wise.
Adam
And where are we right now on the Cardinals running backs? We. You just mentioned Michael Carter, but we've got questionable tags for Trey Benson and James Conner. And I saw Dr. Chow talking about James Conner kind of favoring his knee in the video they showed from practice. So how are we feeling about those guys on Saturday against the Rams?
Dave
They were both limited in practice, so we don't really have a good idea of what the status is for either one. You know, you have one that left the game and one that didn't play last week. So it's going to be up until game time. You know, the nice thing about it is, you know, the Saturday game. So you still have the opportunity to make some, some calls. But if you have, you know, the early games on Saturday, you know, so Dobbins versus these guys, if he plays, you know, I would probably play safe and go Dobbins unless we get roared tomorrow. You know, hopefully it's one of those situations where we get the, you know, insider reports overnight or early in the day that know what the status is. So just, just stay tuned.
Adam
Okay. I am seeing on Twitter from Jared Smola, who is a fantasy analyst on Draft Sharks, that Albert Brear said James Conner is expected to play and Trey Benson is up in the air. But if Connor plays, are you just like all in on Connor? Full. You Know, like normal.
Dave
I mean, same, same thing. I, I don't know how Dave feels, but for me all week, you know, in that, you know, early teens, you know, so the questionable guys with Breeze hall and you know, where Joe Mixon was ranked, you know, I'm a little concerned just because very much a lot of issues on the offensive line for the Cardinals right now. Rams run defenses play a little bit better lately. Grant, Grant. Some of it's the opponents, but it's not, it's not a top 10. James Connor. It's a, it's a number two start. James Connor, but still a little concerned.
Jamie
He would be no higher than 16th in my running back rankings. He would definitely be behind Aaron Jones, Chuba Hubbard, James Cook. Yeah, all the guys that you're. That are like slam dunk must starts, they're going to be ahead of James Connor.
Adam
Okay. And then two more running back notes. Tyrone Tracy missing practice again. And Tony Pollard missing practice, which I don't expect.
Jamie
How about picking up Devin Singletary in the event that Tyrone Tracy misses the game? That might be the better pickup than Kamani Vidal.
Dave
Oh, yeah, we've been saying that all week.
Adam
Okay. Yeah. And obviously Tajie Spears would be the best, but Tony Pollard, this happens all the time. He doesn't practice in any place. Wide receiver C.D. lamb out for the season. We're going to talk about that game in a bit. Jalen Tolbert has a finger injury as well. Maybe Brandon Cooks is someone that you could help you in a pinch. T. Higgins is questionable. But you guys expect Higgins to play, right?
Dave
As of now, yeah.
Adam
Jalen Waddle has practiced. See if he plays. AJ Brown has a knee issue. We expect him to play, but we got to keep an eye on that. Christian Watson has not practiced, but he still has not been ruled out. Alec Pierce is trending in the right direction, same with Cedric Tillman. And then there's Malik Neighbors game time decision. Is there any interest in Darius Slayton, who's no. Or Wandell Robinson? Okay.
Dave
If you're, if you're the desperate CD Lamb manager, then these are guys you should consider if Neighbors is out. But there are better options.
Jamie
There have to be. We'll get to some today.
Adam
I mean, you say that, but Slayton is actually kind of a beast whenever, like earlier this year, there's a beast.
Dave
With a better team around him. I mean, Neighbors hasn't exactly been a beast. He's been good, you know, so I don't know how many people want to trust their Slayton, but again, you know, when you're talking about trusting Darius Slayton or trusting Brandon Cooks against the Eagles, you know, like that's not far off, you know, I mean, yeah, I've been saying since Tuesday, Zacchaeus, you know, it's not like he's a slam dunk. Yeah. I will say if, if there is no Christian Watson, Don Tavian Wicks is my favorite to go pick up. If you can get Jalen McMillan, you know, so you are talking about some guys that could be available, but they're all desperation plays and that's where you start.
Jamie
Would you start a Packers receiver or Slayton if there's no neighbors?
Dave
I would start a Packers here, but we're talking about waiver wire guys, you know, so if, if I know WIX is the only one that's most likely available. So I would start wix.
Adam
Well, for, you know, in those leagues that are fairly shallow, romeo Dobbs is 65 rostered.
Dave
Yeah, well, if we're talking about that, then you should get McMillan if we're going to go that route.
Adam
Fair. But let's say, let's. Would you rather have Dobbs and Wicks?
Dave
I would trust Dobbs more than wix. I would not be surprised if WIX is better because WIX gets more targets whenever Christian Watson's out.
Adam
Yes, he does.
Jamie
I think they're all going to get a decent amount of targets this week.
Adam
All right. And we've got other, other wide receivers like Drake. London seems like he's going to play. Terry McLaurin got in a limited practice. He should be good. Chris Olave is practicing in full. MVS is limited. And Devonte Adams has not practiced yet. This one we do have to keep an eye on this one. Devonte Adams, two straight missed practices. Hopefully he can get out there on Friday. Still no David Najoku, still no Kate Otten. And we got Rams left tackle Rob Havenstein questionable. And I'm going to end it there. If you have not signed up for BETMGM yet, let's go, man. Let's do it. Use the bonus code Fantasy. You're going to get up to a fifteen hundred dollar first bet offer on your first wager with BetMGM. So here's how it works. Just download the BETMGM app, sign up using the bonus code Fantasy. Deposit at least $10 and place your first wager on any game. And you're going to receive up to fifteen hundred dollars in bonus bets if your bet loses. It's quite an offer. Just make sure you use the bonus code Fantasy when you Sign up. It's one question for each game. Six games to talk about today, Carolina's at Tampa Bay. All right, are we going to get another good game from Jalen McMillan?
Dave
I think so. I mean, you know, it's, it's, it. I know what you're going to go back to when we talk about this is the last time he had a bad game was against Carolina and Baker was bad in that game. Kate Otten is still banged up. We don't know if he's going to play or not. And you've just seen Baker get back to being Baker again. Since McMillan has emerged the last three weeks, you know, it's kind of what he was doing when he had a healthy Chris Godwin. You know, he's got two guys that he can rely on now. The other side of this is they could run all over the Panthers and the passing game is a little bit, you know, not as explosive. But I do think that this has a chance to be a back and forth game. I mean, the Panthers have done a good job moving the ball lately. Bryce Young has looked like a, you know, legitimate NFL quarterback over the last six weeks and hopefully he comes to play and, and the Panthers often shows up and we get a hopeful shootout here. So I do like McMillan, as in that group of guys, you know, wide receiver, 20 to 30, you know, so I would call him in most weeks a number two receiver, you know, so number three receiver by rankings. I think he's a, he's a potential.
Jamie
Starter across the board and he's got that upside that you might be looking for if you're, if you started somebody who's a dud or you're going up against Derrick Henry or Lamar Jackson. You need somebody that might be able to catch a 40 yard touchdown. He's got that kind of upside. He's got that Jameson Williams upside.
Adam
Jaylen McMillan has six to seven targets in three straight games. There have been six wide receivers with six to seven targets against the Panthers this year, and they have ranged anywhere from 2.3 fantasy points to 20.2 and all in the middle. So nothing conclusive. There's. And I personally would start McMillan over guys like Joe Mixon, Jackson, Smith and Jigba over Keenan Allen. Hopefully, you know what I start over Nico Collins. Green Bay at Minnesota. I honestly think one of the most difficult questions this week is how to project Green Bay's passing game and what to do with their wide receivers. So we just sort of mentioned it earlier. But Dave, would you start any packers wide receivers this week against the Vikings.
Jamie
Not with supreme confidence. I do think that there's going to be an uptick in targets for all of the receivers and tight end that play for the packers. But this is still a team that's going to spread the ball around and we don't know for sure if anybody's going to even be able to hit that 7, 8 target range. Minnesota has been better against slot receivers than outside receivers over their past five games. So maybe that helps Dobbs, maybe that helps Wix, maybe that hurts Jaden Reed. But we've seen, we've seen Reed come through with touchdowns just from cool plays that they designed for him. I do think this has a potential to be a fairly high scoring game. So these are receivers that I would look at in that flex range. I would rank them. Dobbs, Reed, Wicks. As of now, none of them are top 24. I don't even know if any of them are top 30. 30. They're not for me. They're not. But if you're. I would be nervous to start any of them as high upside plays again. Talking about situations where you need to play from behind in fantasy, you're up against somebody who started the Seahawks DST and they got you a ton of points and you need to catch up. I don't think there's any receiver here that I would go with with that hope that they've got huge upside to get you a 20 point game.
Adam
All right, Atlanta's at Washington. Jamie, rank these three players. Drake, London, Darnell Mooney, Brian Robinson Jr. Let's say it's half PPR, half PPR.
Dave
I'd go London, Robinson, Mooney, full PPR. London, Mooney, Robinson.
Jamie
I would take that order in half PPR too. I might even take it in non ppr. I like what I saw from Michael Pennix last week and I think he's gonna have to throw more this week. And Mooney was the guy that he had good timing with on downfield routes, a couple of out routes that those two connected on. I'm kind of encouraged by, by what these Falcons receivers can do with Pennix. They honestly should have moved to Kirk Cousins like three, four weeks ago or moved away from Cousins I should say three or four weeks ago.
Adam
All right, let's go to Detroit at San Francisco. Rank these three players. Jameson Williams, Debo Samuel and Isaac Garendo. Assuming he plays.
Jamie
Half ppr. I'm assuming, sure.
Adam
Yeah.
Jamie
Okay, I will go with Garendo. Jameson Debo.
Dave
I'll go Jameson, Garendo, Debo and Dallas at Philadelphia.
Adam
Can you trust A.J. brown and or Devonte Smith?
Dave
Trust is an interesting word when you're talking about Kenny Pickett, who's less than 100% playing against what has turned out to be a better Dallas defense, as you've noted time and time again since Michael Parsons has come back. So they are enjoying playing the role of spoiler and I'm sure they would love to go into Philadelphia and, you know, wreck some havoc there against the backup quarterback. So I'm still starting A.J. brown. I find it hard to get away. Like what I saw last week was basically what we saw from CD Lam without Dak Prescott got fed still produced. You could trust that. Yeah. I don't think Kenny Pickett is a complete disaster. He's bad, but he's not a complete disaster. Devonte Smith is a little bit tougher, you know, because you saw 6 for 51. So the catches were there, yards were not. Had a huge drop, you know. So how much does that play into the mind of everybody? I doubt it, but you never know. So he'd be. He. He'd be the one I'd be more concerned about.
Adam
Okay, would you start Devonte Smith or the Jameson Williams, Debo Samuel?
Dave
I would start those guys over him.
Adam
Yeah.
Jamie
I'd start JMO over Devonte. I wouldn't start Debo over devonte.
Dave
The thing about the. That mat, like that matchup could be Fantastic for the 49ers offense. Just because Detroit's defense is so beat up right now.
Adam
I'm kind of feeling Debo like I had a gut feeling about him last week. I wish I had been had more conviction because it was obvious two weeks ago, that horrible rain game against the Rams, that they were trying to get Debo involved and he's got five carries in two of his last three games. Now Garendo comes back. I think that that might change.
Jamie
Right? That could change the whole tenor of the offense. Like now they're going to have confidence to run the ball. Last week they didn't. That's why there were so many screens and short throws.
Dave
I don't think they can run the ball. Not the same way, you know, and. And they're going to probably be chasing points here based on how the Detroit offense operates.
Adam
All right. And finally Las Vegas is at New Orleans. Which Raiders running back do you prefer?
Jamie
Abdullah, certainly in ppr, it's got to be Abdullah.
Adam
They had very similar. Didn't they have the same amount of catches or within one catch or something? They split third down work, you know, and gosh, just Madison is just so not good. But yeah, all right. I'm agonizing over this personal. This one. Personally, I. I just. I don't know. But all right, you guys are saying Abdullah. Abdullah is the answer. We're going to take a break here, talk about a very important topic and then get into the games. When we come back on Fantasy Football today. Where'd you get those shoes? Easy. They're from dsw. Let's talk about the weather here, guys, and how you are approaching it because it looks like it's going to be a rainy, rainy weekend. Looking at our guy, Kevin Roth. Not our guy, but we love him. Roto Grinders. The three games that he has flagged as orange are jets at Bills, Dolphins at Browns and Falcons at Commanders. So those are the rainiest ones. It seems you've got a lot of games that are yellow, but you know, obviously red would be the worst, but it's like green then yellow, then orange then red. I think you guys can understand the system there. But how are you, Dave, approaching the weather this weekend in your rankings?
Jamie
I think when it comes to the games with heavy rain, you've got to figure that the quarterbacks could scale back a little bit. The DSTs could be a little bit better. Don't want to trust the kickers very much. But I also know that forecasts change. And just because there's rain in the forecast now doesn't necessarily mean that there's going to be rain in the forecast come Sunday. And these are all Sunday games, correct.
Adam
Yeah. But the Saturday games. Denver, Cincinnati, Denver. Cincinnati is also one that could be rainy.
Jamie
Right. So the closer we get to the game, the more likely the forecast will be accurate. I would probably have a backup plan in mind for anybody that you're nervous about because of heavy rain in any of these games. Not that you're going to sit Josh Allen, but who's somebody that you could sit in the Jets Bills game that you'd be nervous about going with? Like Shakir. We already kind of identified him as someone who's got the safe floor, not necessarily the high ceiling. Does his floor go even lower? Because the Bills could be tempted to run a little bit more.
Adam
I mean, Garrett Wilson's been struggling. Would you. You know, do you.
Jamie
You could potentially get away from him. Although I don't think the rain will stop Aaron Rodgers from throwing the ball over the place.
Adam
Yeah, it's tough. You know, it's tough. Rain is not usually something unless it's torrential. That. That I fear. I don't. I think.
Jamie
Right. Like the game last night. Do you really think the rain had a sizable impact in that game?
Adam
No, because it was only really pouring for a little bit. But I will tell you, the two Thursdays ago, that Rams 49ers game.
Jamie
Yeah, it did. And I don't think there's a.
Dave
There's a track record with Purdy. There's a track record with Purdy in bad weather, you know, so that's just something to keep in mind. In mind moving forward, I think, with him. Yeah.
Adam
Well, what's TUA gonna do? You trust TUA in a rain, Right?
Dave
That's a great.
Jamie
Yeah, but I didn't want to trust TUA anyway, to begin.
Dave
Great examples.
Adam
But what Tyree killed, though. Yeah.
Jamie
Yeah. That's fair.
Adam
Ah, I hate. This is my. What I really don't like about the.
Dave
Fantasy playoffs is that's why there should be domes everywhere.
Adam
You ever been to a football game in a dome?
Jamie
Yes.
Adam
It's so lame. It's just like.
Dave
It should be retractable. It should be retractable. Roost for everything.
Adam
Yeah. All right. Carolina's a Tampa Bay. So Jamie's hoping for a nice back and forth game here. Thinking it probably will be a nice back and forth game. The Panthers, they scored 23 points in the first meeting. So yeah, we'd like that. We'd like for a lot of offense in this game, but here's a stat for you. So running backs are averaging 3.3 yards per carry against the Bucks in their last six games. That is the best in the NFL. They've also seen the fewest running back carries in that stretch. They have had a buy but only 86 running back carries in their last six games. And they've allowed just two rushing touchdowns to running backs. They held Christian McCaffrey to 39 rushing yards, Tyrone Tracy to 42. Chuba Hubbard scored 4.3 fantasy points in the first matchup. Rico Dowdle was horrible last week. Anybody fearing Chuba Hubbard off of that huge game last week.
Dave
So he's, he's right before the, the group for me, I keep talking about, you know, so the, the mid teen group. I think you got to hope for his role in the passing game to be good. You got to hope that he can, you know, still get all of the touches, which has generally been the case since Brooks's injury. That was. Brooks was still healthy that time, right?
Adam
Yes, yes, he was.
Dave
So I think that's the game he got hurt or in the guard the next game. They're in that range anyway. He played. I, I just think, you know, at this point in the season, you know, like we said about mixing, like we say about some of these other guys, you know, you're buying into a workload by comparison necessarily to a questionable matchup, you know, so as much as maybe Jerome Ford's situation, which I don't think is better because the matchup is equally tough, they're very similar to me. You know, they're going to get a lot of work, they're going to hopefully get involved in a passing game. You know, you're taking on a tough defense. You just got to buy. To what. Buy into what Chuba Hubbard has been all season. So it's not going to be easy, but he still has the potential to four catches and, and still score at the goal line. You know, he's, he's done well in some tough matchups. I mean, you know, it's not like he's been, oh my God, every bad game, every tough matchup, he struggled. That hasn't been the case. So I think he's just the number two running back.
Jamie
You're not joking about Ford having a matchup. Almost as tough. The Dolphins have seen 15.7 running back rushes their last seven games. That second lowest to the Bucks which are at 14.3. Both of them have a great rate of 10 plus yard run runs allowed against them. Still trying to figure out how to say that easy, very explosive rush rate against them. I, I think that this is definitely a tough spot for both the running backs, but you've got to trust the workload for both of these running backs and that's why they're top 15ish type guys. That that's just how I would roll with.
Adam
Which running backs are you talking about? You're talking about Hubbard and Ford from Ford.
Jamie
I would rather start Chuba than Ford.
Adam
Obviously you'd rather start Bucky Irving than Chuba, right?
Dave
Yes.
Adam
And what about Rashad white?
Jamie
You need 10 PPR points, 11 PPR points. He's your guy.
Adam
Okay. Talked about this on Wednesday's show. I think you look at the three carries that he had last week. If they're not trailing in this game like they were at Dallas, there's a low floor there for Rashad White. However, he does seem to have a decent game every single time.
Dave
And by the way, the, the fumble has been brought up multiple times this week. Both Bowles and Cohen addressed it with the media and would not surprise me, Bucky Irving gets a few more touches which would be awesome.
Adam
Who's your second favorite wide receiver in this game behind Mike Evans?
Jamie
Adam Thielen.
Adam
Okay. And you like McMillan, but you must like feeling quite a bit then.
Dave
Yeah, they're not far off. They're not far off. But I think again feeling went nuclear against the Bucks the last time these two teams met. He's been very consistent in his last month. He did have the 10.1 game, you know, which is the somewhat outlier. But he still had seven targets in that game. So you know this is a guy Bryce Young is leaning on. There is a chance of them having to chase points, but he had popped up on the injury report this week. So just keep that in mind for an older player that had hamstring injury earlier this year that knocked him out for four weeks or four plus weeks. Excuse me. So we get to game time. He may not play. Just, just keep that in mind when we, when we're looking at this.
Jamie
So absolutely double check his status on Friday. I'm, I'm looking to see how many targets to receivers Tampa Bay has seen over their last six games. It's 123. So about 20 targets per game to wide receivers in those last six. So remember, they're not seeing a lot of running back runs, but they're seeing a lot of targets to wide receivers. I don't see a game script where Adam Thielen isn't involved and that's what encourages me to make him like a number two wide receiver in full ppr.
Adam
And Bryce Young, he was our top waiver wire pickup amongst the guys who are widely available. But he's only quarterback 20 basically in the rankings. So I guess the established veterans, the Staffords and the Rogers of the world will be ahead of Bryce Young. There's no other wide receiver. We're not going to start like Jalen Coker or anything like that. So we go over to the Bucks.
Dave
Well, I mean if Thielen is out.
Adam
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Dave
Then, then Coker's got a chance. And look, you know, Coker's come back for the last two games after being bang. I think it was shoulder or knee injury. One of the two. One great game and one dud.
Adam
Yeah. Is someone's asking if Jalen Coker is a decent dart throw. My wide receivers are wrecked.
Dave
I, so I, I had to do a hit for HQ about replacing CD Lamb. This is one of the guys I mentioned, you know, for deeper leagues. Just because again you're talking about matchup and the matchup is, is great and we've seen him have a big game and he makes a big play against two games ago, you know, for, for Bryce Young. So there's a, there's a chance here. But clearly I think you look at it as Thielen and then skip a few. And look, we've seen David Moore scored a touchdown last week. You know, he's had some good moments for the Panthers as well. So there's no guarantee it's going to be Coker all of a sudden being a stud, but he definitely would be somebody to consider. If Thielen is out is legit for sure.
Jamie
Out.
Adam
No, no.
Dave
But he's banged up and you know.
Jamie
Before he got hurt he had back to back games with eight targets. I, I think David Moore did that once and I don't think Coker's done that at all this year. Back to back games with eight targets for the Panthers.
Adam
Yeah, I know. I think Legate might play. He started the week as a full participant or he's listed that way. Then he was limited. So that's something to keep in mind. So I, we got to move on from, from this yeah, he did have. He did bring in Raccoon in, like, to eat in the locker room. It was weird. Would you go with Brandon Cooks or.
Dave
Or Jalen Coker if Thielen is out?
Adam
No, if the one's in.
Dave
If the. I would go with Cooks.
Adam
Okay.
Jamie
I might go with Cooks even if Thielen's out.
Adam
All right. And then Mayfield's a top five quarterback. He was bad against them last time, but he's been pretty damn good. Even in games where he had like 36 points with 27 pass attempts against the Chargers. 25 points on 29 pass attempts against the Raiders. So even when he's not throwing a lot after that Carolina game, he had two huge games, and his last two.
Dave
Games he's been running.
Adam
Yep. Yep. There's that start. Bucky Irving. Rashad White is, as Dave said, about 11 PPR. Fantasy points start. Evans McMillan is a number two receiver. Heath is lower. No, he's number three receiver. Sorry. Heath has him at 41. You guys have him at 28. But McMillan. Yeah, we talked about him earlier in one question for each game, and we're not expecting Kate Otten. And that is it for Buccaneers and Panthers. Let's go. Oh, I did see a question in here. Adam Thielen vs. Debo Samuel and Jameson Williams. What would you guys do?
Jamie
If he's healthy, Thielen gets the nod. Okay.
Adam
All right, let's go to Green Bay and Minnesota. Green Bay's defense has been pretty good. They've allowed more than 19 points only once in their last six games since their buy. It was a game against Detroit. But we still expect Minnesota. I mean, Minnesota scores points. They're very good offense here. All right, over. Under 30. 31 and a half past attempts for Jordan Love.
Jamie
Is that what the line is?
Adam
No, that's my line.
Dave
I'll take the over.
Jamie
I'll take the under.
Adam
If you're taking the over there, that's big. Like, that is then Jordan Loves.
Dave
I. I'm hoping for a shootout, you know, I'm hoping that the run defense from Minnesota shows up and Jason. Josh Jacobs does his work in the passing game and that we have to see Jordan Love throw, you know, so the last was six games in a row. He's been 28 pass attempts or less. And the last time these two teams met, he threw it over 50 times, you know, so granted, it's a different Jordan Love. He was banged up then. He's been, you know, very efficient. Lately. This offense has been running through Josh Jacobs. It's not Easy to do that against the Vikings. So the hope would be is Minnesota comes out, punches them in the mouth and we get a shootout. And if that's the case, then I think you see all these packers receiving options, Tucker Kraft included in play. If not, and the run game is working for the packers, then we have another week of. Can't trust any of these guys, hoping one of them finds the end zone. And it's just a difficult situation across the board. So I'm. I'm hopeful that that's what happens for the Packers. I don't have it ranked that way because you have to go based on what the trends have been, but that's what I'm hoping for. I'm hoping that we get these guys in a back and forth. Let's have a high scoring game in a dome where there's no weather issues and two offenses that have the ability to put up a lot of points.
Jamie
If Green Bay's defense comes to play, that'll obviously hurt Minnesota and keep them from putting up a ton of points on the board. That means that Jordan Love wouldn't have to throw a lot. If the opposite comes true, then, yeah, Jordan Love is going to throw a lot. Right now the line at BET MGM is 32 and a half. Adam.
Adam
I saw that. I was just looking at that. That is weird.
Jamie
You were very close, but it's. Plus it's even money, so you have to pay a little bit more juice to take the under. So you got to pay a little bit of a penalty if you want to take the under on that. But there, there's potential. I'm curious. The game script for the last time these two teams played, Minnesota just did come out and punch them in the mouth. And so that makes me a little bit nervous that the exact same thing won't happen because usually you don't see the same game script between division rivals when they play the second time. I, like love, is like a top 15 quarterback. I'm gonna have a hard time putting him into my top 12.
Dave
This. Yeah, this isn't. Again, a lot of this is going to happen. This is more hopeful, you know. So you're looking at a Packers defense. Can you list some of the opponents that they played during this stretch?
Adam
Yeah, well, they placed the Saints. I mean, geez, they. They faced The Bears, the 49ers with Brandon Allen, the Dolphins, the Seahawks and the Saints and the Lions. The Lions scored 34 points, I think so. I know. Look it. The fact that the, that the total for, for the past /Attempts prop is 32 and a half. All I'm saying is if Jordan Love really throws 33 or more passes, then I think we're going to have a lot of good fantasy production on our benches, on our bench. Right. Because I know you can't trust it and it's tough. And I'll give you a discouraging note here is that Detroit game they lost 3,431. It was an indoor game. I'm talking about the Rain game in Green Bay. I'm talking about the indoor game in Detroit. They lost 3,431. They only had the ball for like 25 minutes or something, but their pass rate was really low. Even in that game, they just didn't threw 20 times. 20. Yeah, I know that. Right. So that's the discouraging thing. They want to just pound the rock.
Dave
But that was the game after Jacksonville, right?
Jamie
For who? For Detroit?
Adam
No, no, that was the first Detroit played Chicago. No, no, I got this. You're talking about Jordan Love left the Jacksonville game, then he played Detroit. That was the rain game. It was four weeks later.
Jamie
That was the last time. He threw over 30 times too. Was that Detroit game that Detroit in Green Bay.
Adam
Right. So, yeah, I mean, it's tough because I. I'm sure we all have some packers receivers and like, I kind of want to get them in. And if you had to pick one, it would be who?
Dave
Reed Dobbs. And if Watson plays Watson's out, I would go read Wicks Dobbs.
Adam
All right, look, there. There's a. If you are stuck with them, I will just leave you with that optimism that there is a chance that they're going to have a good game. And Tucker Kraft, by the way, in two games that Christian Watson missed or. Well, with the first game, he left like super early and then he missed. Tucker Craft was really good in both games. So who would you start? Tucker Kraft or Chigo?
Jamie
Conquo Craft.
Dave
Craft and non ppr for sure. Probably Craft and Half ppr. I mean, Chick just hasn't found the end zone, you know, so that's been Craft's calling card. So is Harrison Smith practicing because he missed last.
Adam
Yes, he's gonna. I think he's gonna play. And Ivan Pace, their linebacker, is going to play too.
Dave
Yeah, that's big.
Adam
They're both. I think they're both practicing in full. So starters at Sam Darnold, by the way. Sorry, I know you're gonna say start. I was surprised. I did not know. The packers are giving up the fewest fantasy points the quarterbacks.
Jamie
Well, is that weighted by who they've played?
Dave
Look at the guys who you listed.
Adam
Yeah, yeah, but it. And, like, he. He beat them up pretty good the first time. He scored 30. He scored 26.5 points. So start. Start Darnold, Right?
Dave
Yep.
Jamie
Okay, I've got him seventh. I have him ahead of Bo Nix, Purdy Richardson. Love those guys.
Adam
And Aaron Jones is at the end of the. Of the group where you just. You just start him. I mean, you could have better options, like, obviously, Zach Charbonnet, but he's before the question marks. Right. Aaron Jones.
Jamie
Yep. Right. So he's the head of Chuba Hubbard, Dobbins, Jerome Ford, Breeze Hall.
Adam
You like Jordan Addison this week?
Dave
Yep.
Jamie
Sure.
Adam
All right. Yeah. Jordan Addison, Justin Jefferson are obviously. Jefferson's the man. Jordan Addison's a top 16 wide receiver for everyone, so.
Dave
And I know you were really rooting for Jair Alexander to come back. It was a big. Yeah, you know, sticking point for you. He's not gonna play.
Adam
Not coming back. TJ Hawkinson is a sit, though. Chig. Over. Over Hawkinson, Right?
Jamie
Correct.
Dave
Yes.
Adam
Okay.
Jamie
That is correct.
Adam
All right. And the Minnesota DST is outside the top 12. So to sum it up, the Vikings are pretty easy. You're starting your Vikings, you're starting Josh Jacobs, and then. And then you're, you know, we just.
Jamie
You're starting Craft. Tucker Kraft is a start. And then the receivers, you're taking a chance on in Green Bay.
Dave
It's a great DFS play for the Packers.
Adam
Great call.
Jamie
Wicks is the one who's the best DFS play.
Adam
He's probably gonna be pretty cheap, but he just never catches the ball. He's such a dropper.
Jamie
He's a big play guy. He's. He's what Christian Watson was to start the year.
Adam
Yeah. Yeah, it's.
Jamie
Christian Watson is his target per route.
Adam
Run rate when Christian Watson's not on the field is. Is ridiculous. All right, Atlanta's at Washington, so we're gonna keep an eye on Washington. Can they get to the quarterback? Because Michael Penix is not the most mobile guy. That was sort of the knock on him.
Jamie
Yeah, but compared to Kirk Cousins, he's Michael Vick.
Adam
Yeah. In their last three games, the Commanders are fourth best in pressure rate. Before that, they were not so good, but they've been. They've been hot lately. See if they can get after Pennix. And the Falcons offensive lines are pretty good in terms of limiting pressure. So anyway, no one's starting panics, but obviously we need him to be good for. For London and Mooney or we need him to be competent. Right, Bijan?
Jamie
But he's also a very good DFS play.
Adam
Okay. And. All right, you know what? I have a question for you. Why is there such a big difference in your rankings for London and Mooney? So London for you guys is around 20th. He's actually 11th for Heath. Mooney is 31st for Jamie or 30th for Jamie, 35th for Dave, 41st for Heath. Why the big gap there, Jamie, between London and Mooney?
Dave
I mean, you know, Dave said it earlier that Mooney had a good game with Penix last week, but we still saw. What we saw with Cousins was the targets were still in favor of London before he had the hamstring injury. So I think just based on how this game should go, if they're in a back and forth game, because the commander's offense will hopefully move the ball, that both these guys have an opportunity to make plays. And while London has. Excuse me. While Mooney has had more receiving yards than London, I think that's the case. He's still more of a big play threat than a guy that will get fed as much. So I like both. Again, I think if you. If you look at 12, 24, 36, you throw that out with the receivers, you know, So I. Mooney's a borderline number two receiver, and London is a basically borderline, borderline number one receiver, you know, so hopefully he's healthy.
Jamie
I actually don't like that. I've got them 15 spots apart. I want them closer together. I'm going to make them closer together. Not back to back. And London will still be ahead, but I. I think they should be, I think, better than a low end number three.
Dave
They sit next to each other on.
Jamie
The plane only when they go to the East Coast.
Adam
I remember this could be one of those big Rain games. So you got to keep that in mind as well. Would you start the Drake? London? You would start London over McMillan? Would you start Mooney or McMillan? I think I asked you that earlier, but go for it again, McMillan.
Jamie
As of now, McMillan. And I think the only way that would change is if Thielen's out. And I just lose confidence that Carolina will be able to keep up their end of the bargain in their game against Tampa.
Adam
By the way, Marshawn Lattimore has not been practicing for Washington. He did. I was wrong. I said I didn't think that he shadowed A.J. brown. He did shadow A.J. brown. Not very successfully in the first half. And then Got better throughout the game, but he's.
Dave
I mean, he mugged him the entire game. It was pass interference either called or not called. That should have been called.
Adam
Yeah, it started out really bad for him. At least he was able to recover. Sit Kyle Pitts start Jaden Daniels. He's top five. He's third for Dave and Jamie should have a big game. Brian Robinson Jr. Is in that question mark group. He's a tough call. Raiders running back for Brian Robinson Jr. Robinson.
Dave
So one thing about this matchup which is interesting, Falcons allow the most receptions to running backs. And what we've seen from Robinson in the last two weeks is three targets in each game. So if he gets three targets, I think that's good enough. He's caught five of the six targets that he's been throwing the last two weeks. Now, does that tick up a little bit because of the matchup and how teams just throw to that position all over the place? I think they've allowed 87 receptions to the position on the year. I don't know. I probably don't. I probably wouldn't expect it, you know, because we've seen him now three games without Austin Eckler, and it's not like he's been hugely involved in the passing game. The Titans game, he didn't need to be. So they haven't. They've only got nine touchdowns to the, to the position all season. The Falcons have. And it feels like he needs to score to have a big game. So hopefully that's the case, is that he finds the ends. Remember, the Titans weren't giving up a lot of touchdowns. Running backs, he had a big game against them before their bye week. So you just put him, I think, in that number two running back range. If you have better options, like I think Jerome Ford's better, I would start Devin Singletary over him. If Tyrone Tracy's out, would not start Benson or Carter over him. If Connor is out, for example, and.
Adam
You would start singing, you would start single Terry over him.
Dave
I would start Singletary over Robinson. If Tracy's out, yes. And, and that's, that's, that's exactly the, the cutoff line for me.
Adam
Okay.
Dave
I would start over him, for example, if Dobbins place.
Jamie
I'm especially going to love Robinson if it's raining. If the weather's bad. This is an easy game for the Commanders to just hand off a little bit more, run behind the Hogs on that offensive line and let Brian Robinson churn against the Falcons. Let me try saying this stat again. They've allowed a 10 plus gain on the ground on 14 of running back runs over their last four games.
Adam
That's high.
Jamie
That's very high.
Adam
We have a question in the chat here. Brian Robinson or Jerome Ford?
Dave
Ford.
Jamie
I have Ford out of Robinson for now. It's easier to do that in PPR because Ford catches the ball. Robinson isn't necessarily one to catch the ball.
Adam
Brian Robinson or Garendo, if he plays Robinson.
Jamie
I'd probably take a run, though.
Adam
And here's the problem with that rain thing though. This is the Sunday night game. So you know, we can't, we can't get the weather report necessarily. Unless you want to use one from 12 hours before the game starts, which you could do. It's so funny because the Falcons see how many rushing touchdowns have they allowed to running backs this year. Four rushing touchdowns to running backs all year. Last year they did not allow a rushing touchdown to a running back until Week 16. And then in their last three games, the Falcons allowed five rushing touchdowns to running backs. So that's just a weird thing that they've done two years in a row. They've been good at keeping running backs out of the end zone, but that's not really a reliable stat. You never know when the floodgates could open. Terry McLaurin is a must start guy. The Falcons stink. They stink against wide receivers. Second most fantasy points allowed. Zacchaeus is a dart throw and then Zach Hurts is tough starter, said Zach Ertz.
Dave
Guys, he's behind Kraft. I would have said behind Schultz, you know, so hopefully it does better than that for anybody who didn't listen. Ahead of Hawkinson, ahead of pits, you know. So like tight end 14.
Jamie
He's a little bit lower for me. Just not a tight end I'd get excited about.
Dave
Although he was getting into it. Nick Sirianni, maybe that fires him up.
Adam
Oh, my gosh. I feel like Nick Sirianni might not be a very good loser. Just gonna say, like, I think maybe he's a little ornery after loss sometimes.
Dave
He'S not a good winner. Yelling at his own fans.
Adam
All right, folks, we're gonna take a break. We got three games left. We'll be right back with the lion with the game of the week, baby. After this, Paramount plus has a mountain.

Adam
All right, we don't have to sing it, but we'll just play it. Detroit said. San Francisco, here's your stat of the game. So this is a weird tune, by the way. If you just listen to the instrumental, that's. I like it. Okay. Anywho, here's your stat of the game. Does any of this matter? The 49ers are top four against quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends. The Lions are top four against running backs and tight ends. Does that matter? You've been factoring that in?
Jamie
Nope. All right, now, how have they been lately? Matters more than where they rank on the season.
Adam
Yeah, they've been fine. I, you know, they've been good. Like, let's see, lately, the 49, does it matter? I'm not like, okay, two has scored 14 points. Matthew Stafford scored 17 points. Caleb Williams, 17 points. That's the last three games. Josh Allen scored 30 points. He had a rushing and receiving touchdown in the Snow. Jordan Love, 18 points. Geno Smith, 14 points. Baker Mayfield 10 points. Dak Prescott, 17 points. Patrick Holmes, 11 points. Geno Smith, 14points. This team is really good against quarterbacks. And they gave up the fourth fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks. Any concerns about Jared Goff? I just felt like I was doing the Jim Carrey when he gets pulled over in Liar Liar right there. But it's speeding. Starters to Jared Goff start.
Jamie
Despite all those stats, the way that golf has played this year gives me the confidence to use him. And it's not just golf. It's the offensive line and it's the play calling and it's all come together that has made him a true weapon for the Detroit Lions passing game.
Dave
They realize as a team they're going to have to outscore everybody. They know that their defense right now is not what it was and so this is go get the one seed if they still can. That matchup next week still looms very large against Minnesota, but they can't afford to not score points at this point. Remember how we would say, okay, how are they going to approach it? Can they play volleyball? Well, they don't have the volleyball running back anymore. I mean, Jameer Gibbs is still going to be great, but they don't have same, you know, tandem back there. Sonic and Knuckles are missing or Knuckles is missing. Excuse me. Look, I hope the 49ers offense shows up. That's the big part of this. So they came out last week and probably little easier matchup. I think we would all agree, you know, they did whatever they wanted to against the Bears early in the game. The Lions team total, I just know this because one of our touts said take the under with the weather and the situation. The Lions team total was like 28 points last week. They scored 27 in the first quarter. Like, you know, like they, they can score, I think, on almost everybody in the league right now. And as good as the 49ers defense is still outdoors. There's, you know, rain all weekend. It's not supposed to be bad on Monday, but there's rain all weekend. We could still see an opportunity here for the Lions to be the Lion. So I'm not getting cute and benching Jericho, right?
Jamie
I agree. Hey, we should probably talk about this if. Do the Lions have to win this game to stay in the number one in the race for the number one seed?
Dave
No, I do. If I understand it correctly, if, if they lose, they could still beat the Vikings next.
Jamie
We can still get.
Dave
Vikings can also lose and still beat the Lions next week and get the ones.
Jamie
So it's almost a meaningless game for both. And I think Campbell was asked about that in the, in the media press conferences this week, and he said he doesn't care. He's still going to play as starters no matter what he's going up there to win, etc.
Dave
This is a revenge game for them. I mean, you know, San Francisco in the championship game.
Adam
I don't think it's a meaningless game because Green Bay factors in. I think if Minnesota beats Green Bay, then it's a meaningless game. If Green Bay beats Minnesota, then Minnesota, then Green Bay is 11 and four goes to 12 and four.
Jamie
There's no way for Detroit and Minnesota to both have four losses.
Adam
Yes, there is.
Jamie
Oh, that's each other in week 18.
Adam
That's true. But.
Jamie
Yeah, but it's over for Green Bay.
Adam
The division's over for Green Bay, but they could still be a higher seed. Maybe than. Than one of those teams.
Jamie
But. But that's okay.
Adam
Sorry for Detroit and Minnesota getting off track here.
Jamie
So the point is that, like, yes, it's not a meaningful game for the Lions or the Vikings, but I wouldn't expect them to rest their guys.
Adam
Okay, so Golf, Goff, Darnold, Baker. How do you rank them?
Dave
Baker, Goff, Darnold.
Jamie
That's the order I have. Man.
Adam
Start Jameer Gibbs. Start Amon Ross, St. Brown. Got a question in the chat and just a tweet. I saw Jamie quote, tweeting something about this other guy. Jameson Williams or Calvin Ridley? This is a non PPR question here, but this is an interesting one because Ridley is quite motivated to stick it to his former team. So you guys like Jamo or Calvin Ridley?
Dave
I would take Jameson because there's more touchdown potential.
Jamie
Agreed. But they're close. They're. They're both like boom bus number three receivers.
Dave
Yep.
Adam
Yeah. Jameson Williams actually only has has one end zone target since week three.
Jamie
That's weird.
Adam
But he does score touchdowns. And Calvin really doesn't get a lot of red zone or end zone targets either. All right, Sam Laporta. So this the. The 49ers. If I'm gonna buy them being great against any position, it's. It's tight end there. And they are a good defense. Like, let's make no mistake, they are really good against tight ends. They give up the third fewest fantasy points to tight ends. But Tennessee is good against tight ends. Sam LaPorta scored 16.8 points. Houston good against tight ends. 15.6 for LaPorta. I'm not. Houston ranks high against tight ends. Buffalo ranks high against tight ends. Sam Laporte at 111 yards, 18.1 fantasy points. Start or sit? Sam Laporta start.
Dave
Unless you have Johnny Smith.
Jamie
Sounds about right. Like, I'm not going to get cute and start Craft or Okonkwo over La Porta.
Adam
There you go.
Jamie
Laporta's been hot the last couple of weeks. Keep him up.
Adam
Feeling good about Purdy?
Dave
Yeah. Again, I think you look at this defense right now, they don't have a pass rush. Secondary is beat up. You know, the. The one concern which is obviously a big one is that the safeties for the Lions do a great job of defending tight ends. It's why they've been so good against the position. But you're not benching George Kittle, and I don't think that's A reason to run away from Purdy.
Jamie
Three of the last four quarterbacks to take on the lines and put up at least 26 fantasy points.
Adam
So now we have Purdy ahead of Anthony Richardson with the injury, not ahead of golf. He's going to be ahead of Tua, he's going to be ahead of Stafford, he's going to be head of Rogers. But how about. Are we. Where are we on Purdy vs Bo Nix next?
Jamie
If the weather's really terrible in Cincinnati, I'll flip that.
Adam
All right, Is there anyone I'm forgetting here that's in that range? Purdy or Spencer Rattler?
Jamie
What?
Adam
Purdy. Okay, we'll just go Purdy over Rattler. It's a joke. All right, Garendo, if he plays, he will be. Where in your rankings?
Dave
21, 22.
Jamie
Might be a little higher than that for me, but that. It's. That's. It's that range of running backs that you're just not sure of. And it's going to last from 16 to like 22. Number two running back for surendo's been.
Adam
A little bit more involved in the passing game than the others, other than McCaffrey, but more than Mason, more than Patrick Taylor, for what that's worth. So that's good. And I still don't know how good Detroit's run defense is. They were amazing last week against DeAndre Swift. Nine carries for 20 yards, and they've been great all year, but they're super injured. All right, so Garendo is like a little bit ahead of Brian Robinson. We said. Right.
Dave
No, I would take Robinson. Sorry.
Jamie
And I would take Corindo over Robinson.
Dave
Okay, there we go.
Adam
Someone's asking in the chat. Debo Samuel or Brian Robinson in non ppr.
Jamie
I'd take Robinson in full ppr.
Adam
Garrett Wilson, Isaac Garendo, Breece Hall, Rico.
Dave
Dowdle, Paul Wilson, Garando Dowdle.
Jamie
I'll take Wilson at the top of that list.
Adam
Okay. And Garendo or Rashad White?
Dave
I think he's got a good one, though, there. Garendo or Tracy versus Singleton? Singletary. Excuse me. And I would take both Giants running backs, whoever starts.
Adam
Interesting.
Jamie
I don't know if I would.
Adam
Why not? More faith in Garendo. Because he's been pretty good, right?
Dave
He has been pretty good, but his offensive line is a complete disaster. And I do think that there's. He's clearly still limited, so it's not like he's practicing full 100. So you have still banged up running back, bad offensive line. You said it we're expecting the Lions defense to fall apart. Well didn't last week. So looking at what the Giants running back has done against the Colts, I'll take that situation.
Adam
All right. Debo Samuel is a number three receiver for you guys like a borderline three four and Juwan Jennings is a little higher than that. He's a 2 3. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Like I don't know. I'm not really have any follow ups. I think we've asked a lot about. We've asked about these guys a lot. I'm gonna start Juwan Jennings. Who am I starting him over? I'm starting him over Garrett Wilson, which is not an easy call. If devonte Adams is out, I won't but I, I don't know why I have this faith in him. If he gets his normal target share, I think he's going to be pretty good in this game. I just. You want to start wide receivers against the Lions? Just look at last week, you know.
Dave
Yeah, I agree. I, I would still start Wilson but I, I agree with your sentiment that it's going to be opportunity for a big game.
Adam
I'm going to look at some chat questions here. Maybe they can steer us in the right direction.
Jamie
I don't know about a big game but like a good game.
Adam
Debo Samuel Alexander Madison, devonte Smith.
Dave
Debo.
Jamie
I'll take Smith.
Adam
Okay. Anything else from this game? Garendo or the Vegas running backs? I think I answered this, asked this one earlier. We'll do it again from Eric Debo or jmo. Eric, do we need to spend more time on Jameson Williams start? Kittle, by the way, I skipped over him, didn't I? Okay, let me go back. I want to give the stat that I gave on Wednesday's show for Jameson Williams. So he's been a pretty consistent, you know, 12ish PPR fantasy point guy for a little while. But a huge game against Jacksonville, 124 yards and a touchdown. Huge game at Chicago last week. Those two teams. He had a 64 yard touchdown catch against Jags. 82 yard touchdown catch at Chicago. Those two teams are bottom four. The Jaguars give up the most big plays in the NFL. The Bears the fourth most. The 49ers allow the fewest. So they just do not give up big plays. So I talked about that on Wednesday, but I just wanted to bring that up again because that is bad for. For Jamo. Does that resonate with you guys?
Dave
A little bit.
Adam
Oh, then screw you.
Jamie
I was just gonna say that he's had five catches in four of his last five games. So in PPR at least, he started to build a good floor for himself. So he's not like one of these typical boom bus guys who might get you two for 20 or three for 155 and two touchdowns. I. I think he's got the upside to have a big play against anybody. I just think he's got that kind of talent. I don't think that the 49ers have some sort of special coverage or defender who can shut Jameson Williams down. And if the Lions are just going to keep doing what they're doing, he's going to continue to see targets, and he's capable of having that big play, albeit with a safer floor. He's a good number three receiver still in the boom bust category. But the bust isn't. It's more like boom floor than boom bust.
Adam
All right, Dallas is at Philadelphia. We got two games left. There is really no interest in Cooper Rush at this point. Rico Dowdle, do you think CD Lamb being out is good or bad for Rico Dowdle? Who I know you were nervous about coming into the game.
Jamie
I think it's bad for everybody in Dallas.
Dave
Yeah, it's. This game could have been so much fun.
Adam
Yeah, yeah, I know. Well, the only argument for data would be, well, now I could catch more passes. You're gonna need that because the. It's a tough matchup.
Dave
We just haven't seen that from Russia.
Adam
Well, because he throws all of his throws to the lamb.
Dave
Yeah, I mean, look, it's. Hopefully it'll benefit Ferguson. Hopefully with benefit. But you're still talking about really good defense on the other side there.
Adam
Brandon Cooks is what for you guys.
Dave
He's in that desperation range of Jalen Coker and Zacchaeus and, you know, yeah, guys you just can't trust but may have an opportunity for a big game. Look, it's not like Cooks is getting. Has been getting a lot of targets.
Adam
Lately, but that doesn't. I think. Right, because.
Dave
Agreed. But again, like there. This. This game could just get really ugly quickly for the Cowboys.
Adam
I hope not because Kenny Pickett is going to start in all likelihood and hopefully we get a competitive game here. And Jake Ferguson. So Ferguson I do think is pretty interesting. He got nine targets last week. He doesn't seem to have very good connection with Cooper Rush. Just like no good games, basically, but six for 40 last week on nine targets. So question in the chat. Ferguson or TJ Hawkinson?
Dave
Ferguson.
Jamie
Ferguson.
Adam
Okay, Ferguson or Chico Conquo now Ferguson. Bad matchup or Tucker, Kraft, Craft.
Jamie
Agreed.
Adam
All right. So not a huge boost for Ferguson. Pickett is not a start. SAQUON Barkley is A.J. brown. For you guys, he's top 12 for Heath. He's 21st or 22nd. I just, he was absolutely peppered with targets. Eight of the first 10 passes went to. Eight of the first 10 passes Went to A.J. brown. This included a touchdown, an interception, a 45 yard deep ball completion and an under thrown ball on a potential chunk play where Brown beat Marshawn Lattimore and the throw was not good.
Jamie
You're talking about with Pickett? Eight of the first.
Adam
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry. As soon as Pickett got in the game, it's just Brown, Brown, Brown, Brown, Brown and Devonte Smith. Devante.
Dave
He doesn't want to. He doesn't want to hear about it. That they don't like each other.
Adam
Oh yeah, exactly. Right. You guys are pretty damn low on Devonte Smith. He's not even a top 30 wide receiver. He wasn't that bad last week. 6 for 51 on 8 targets. He never drops the ball. If he. That's like a 7 for 60 game if he catches that ball.
Dave
And I mean let's, let's just back up for a second here. Saquon Barkley is eyeballing Eric Dickerson's record. Now they have a backup quarterback like this is feed Barkley all day long.
Adam
Is he really?
Dave
Because next week he may not play.
Adam
What's the record?
Dave
The single season rushing record.
Jamie
Wow.
Adam
I did not even realize how many rushing yards he had. 1838. Unbelievable.
Dave
Yeah. I mean this is, you know, good luck if you have fake on Barkley. Good luck if you're facing Saquon Barkley this week. I mean he's going to go nuclear.
Jamie
Just for the record, the, the number that he has to beat for Dickerson is 2105 yards. So he's like 300 yards away or. So he's like two weeks and he's.
Adam
Probably not going to play if they win, he's not going to play next week unless it's just to get the record. All right, so. But Devonte Smith. Yeah. Outside the top 30 and you guys have both Niners.
Dave
What's your over under for picket passes?
Adam
27 and a half under.
Jamie
He Saquon needs 268 rushing yards to get the record. Could he get 200 yards in this game?
Adam
200 yards?
Jamie
I wouldn't rule it out.
Adam
Could he get 200 yards in THIS.
Jamie
Game and then come back in week 18 and notch the Record, I would say he's.
Dave
He's got a shot at 160.
Adam
It would really.
Jamie
Next week. Although they do play the Giant.
Adam
Yeah, it would really be funny if he set the record against the Giants next week.
Jamie
I, you know, I'm kind of thinking that could happen.
Adam
All right, that's it for this game. If you guys don't want to talk about devonte Smith, you're just not expecting a lot of pass volume.
Dave
I. I just think, you know, again, you got backup quarterback, you have a defense that has played much better of late. You have a run based game plan, most likely because of who the quarterback is and what's in front of Saquon Barkley. Like, to me, Barkley's got an opportunity here just to be an absolute game record. Like, I have him in one league and I'm playing in one league and I'm terrified about the game I'm playing.
Jamie
I think I said earlier, Smith over Debo. I don't think I'm gonna stick with that. I think I'll take Debo over devonte.
Adam
Yeah, yeah. Somebody's.
Jamie
Yeah, that I had.
Adam
Okay. And the Eagles dst. You should start them.
Dave
And the Cowboys DST isn't bad either.
Jamie
I'm not starting the Cowboys dst. We just got done talking about Saquon Barkley maybe getting 200.
Dave
It's still Kenny Pickett, though.
Jamie
Yeah, I'm taking the Dolphins over them. Oh, I would take the Raiders over.
Dave
Agree. No, they're not a must start defense. Like, I mean, I like the Seahawks. They're behind the Seahawks, you know, so they're. Somebody just has about the Raiders. That's the range you're talking about here.
Adam
Yeah, Dave said he'd take the Raiders over them. Eagles, Bucks or Dolphins DST this week?
Dave
Dolphins.
Jamie
Dolphins.
Adam
All right, the Raiders are at the Saints and save the best for last.
Jamie
Why? Yeah, why did you wait till now to do this game?
Adam
I'm sorry, guys, I, you know. Should we do the show over?
Jamie
Yes.
Adam
All right. Jamie gave me a lot of. A lot of heat for being at an hour and 15 minutes yesterday. So we're gonna do this game.
Dave
A lot of heat. Yeah.
Jamie
Yeah.
Adam
A lot of heat. 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Las Vegas is at New Orleans here.
Jamie
He wants those short podcasts, man.
Adam
So last week, Alexander Madison had 12 carries and four catches. Amir Abdullah had seven carries and five catches. Why do you like Abdullah more than Madison? Against one of the worst run defenses in football. But they're not as bad in the passing game as the Jaguar. Like Jaguars Last week, great matchup in the passing game for running backs. Saints aren't quite that. Why do you like Abdullah Dave better than Madison?
Jamie
I just think that he's the more explosive player and they're sharing enough to where I think Abdullah can overcome the being. He can overcome being second in overall touches, being second in snapshare and still be better by than Alexander Madison. I think if Madison doesn't score, he's a problem. He might get you 10 PPR points if he doesn't score. I think Abdullah can get you 10 PPR points, no problem. And he might be able to get you closer to 15 even without scoring.
Adam
Okay. Anything to add, Jamie?
Dave
I mean, I, I would hate for it to be starting these guys. I'm stuck in one league starting Abdul. It's a 22 team, 24 team fantasy league. So you understand why. Yeah. You know, they probably need to find the end zone to be successful. I just feel like Abdullah's role in the past game is a little bit.
Jamie
Safer if you knew that neither running back would score, which is crazy because they're playing the Saints and the Saints let every. They let three different running backs score last week, but if neither one of them scored, which one would you have more confidence in?
Adam
Abdullah?
Jamie
I think it's easy to say Abdullah.
Adam
Yeah. And I have both of them in one of my leagues, but I don't really think it matters because I feel good. I started mixing JSN and Fairbair and so it doesn't really matter who I start there. I'm probably gonna win. So I'm hoping that. I'm hoping that Tyrone Tracy doesn't play so I can put Devin Singletary in over them. But you, I thought you guys said you wouldn't do that.
Dave
I would.
Adam
Yeah, you would. Okay. How do we feel about Jacoby Myers this week? And what about Chris Olave if he plays?
Dave
I'll start with Olave just because it's going to be Spencer Rattler most likely. And he's. He's clearly ahead of like the, the Jalen Cokers and the Zacchaeuses of the world, but he's behind the 49ers guys. I would start Devonte Smith over him. Like we're talking about wide receiver 38, you know, so low end numbers.
Adam
Can I give you a counter to that? Do you know what he did the previous time he played with Spencer Rattler? He had a huge game. And honestly though, it was mostly Jake Hayner because Rattler was replaced by Haner. But he had eight catches for 107 yards on 14 targets. And that was like Rattler got sent.
Jamie
Without a touchdown this year.
Adam
He had three catches for 49 yards on five targets with RA. And then Haner came in and peppered him with targets after that. But just saying that, that he did score 18.7 fantasy points at the Chargers in a game that Rattler and Hayner played.
Jamie
So, yeah, I'm not excited to start Olave. Even if he plays, he'd be in that number four receiver range.
Adam
Okay, are you excited to start Jacoby? Myers is slumping a little bit.
Dave
He's been bad the last two weeks. One of those was the Desmond Ritter game. So, you know, throw that out. I mean, the Saints secondary, I know has been good at times, but I don't really fear them at all, especially since they've gotten rid of Lattimore. You know, you can't look at last week's game and say, okay, wow, the packers didn't throw on them. The packers could have done whatever they wanted to, you know, So I think Myers does bounce back here. So he's a low end number two receiver in that feeling range.
Jamie
Is it a competitive game?
Adam
Yeah, I think so.
Jamie
I mean, it might be a game that resembles what we saw on Thursday night, but I guess it could be competitive. And if that's the case, then Meyer should see at least nine targets. He saw that in each of his last four games. They're mostly games that the Raiders weren't necessarily competitive in. They were trailing. But I think that's what you're looking for from Jacoby is involvement. He wasn't involved last week. He's a borderline number two receiver in full ppr.
Adam
Would you start Camara if you played?
Jamie
Yes.
Dave
Yeah, he would. He would be like.
Jamie
But yeah, yeah, he's probably not like, ahead of.
Dave
Ahead of Connor, behind like, James Cook.
Adam
All right. And don't start. Kendra Miller, right? No, I got some chat questions about this game. Aiden O'Connell or Bryce Young? Young Bryce Alexander Madison or Brandon Cooks?
Dave
Madison.
Jamie
I could be. I'll start Madison. I was about to say I could be talked into Cooks, but I think that's.
Adam
You're.
Jamie
You're kind of stuck either way. Go with the touchdown guy. Madison.
Adam
Madison Pollard. Dowdle Cooper. Cup. Ppr.
Dave
Pollard. If he plays. Cup if powers up.
Jamie
Yeah, probably.
Adam
Okay. And that's it then. Okay. Hey, we did it. How about that? One more week.
Jamie
That's what we do every single day.
Adam
Yeah, but I mean, we did, like, we got through the season.
Jamie
Season ain't over yet.
Adam
But this season pretty much over. No, next week we'll be talking about, oh, you should start Kenneth Gainwell over this guy. You know, that kind of stuff.
Dave
Those are fun DFS weeks.
Adam
They are for sure.
Jamie
Very fun DFS week.

Fantasy Football Today: Episode Summary
Title: Start or Sit (NFC): A.J. Brown, Deebo Samuel, Maybe Chris Olave and More!
Release Date: December 27, 2024
Hosted by: Adam Aizer, with analysts Dave Richard, Jamey Eisenberg, and Heath Cummings
Description: Join the Fantasy Football Today team as they delve into critical start or sit decisions for the NFC, evaluate player performances, discuss injury updates, and analyze upcoming matchups to help you dominate your fantasy league.
The episode kicks off with Adam Aizer introducing the main focus: evaluating key NFC players like A.J. Brown, Deebo Samuel, and Chris Olave for fantasy football lineups.
Discussion Highlights:
Low Scoring Trends: The hosts express concern over recent fantasy football performances, highlighting that five teams have scored six or fewer points in multiple games.
Adam (03:01): "We've already had three teams score six or fewer points in four games over the last five weeks combined."
Impact of Short Weeks and Weather: Jamie Eisenberg attributes poor performances to teams struggling with short preparation weeks and adverse weather conditions.
Jamie (03:22): "These teams just like at least New Orleans back on Monday. This is just horrible."
Key Updates:
Quarterbacks: Malik Neighbors' status remains uncertain, Tyrone Tracy is still not practicing, and Anthony Richardson is grappling with foot and back issues.
Adam (08:22): "Anthony Richardson foot and back issues, has not practiced and the Colts are optimistic he will play."
Running Backs: Tony Pollard is missing practice, Isaac Garendo is limited, and Alvin Kamara missed practice but hasn't been ruled out.
Adam (09:44): "Alvin Camara missed practice, hasn't been ruled out, but he missed practice."
Wide Receivers: C.D. Lamb is out for the season, Jalen Waddle has practiced and is expected to play, while Chris Olave is practicing fully.
Adam (15:14): "Jalen Waddle has practiced. See if he plays. AJ Brown has a knee issue. We expect him to play."
Impact on Matchups:
Rain Forecast: The upcoming weekend is expected to be rainy across America, potentially affecting quarterback performances and increasing the reliability of certain defenses.
Adam (27:37): "It's going to rain in America this weekend, especially the east Coast."
Strategic Adjustments: The team discusses adjusting rankings based on weather forecasts, suggesting flexibility in lineup decisions closer to game time.
Jamie (27:57): "Figure that the quarterbacks could scale back a little bit. The DSTs could be a little bit better."
a. Carolina vs. Tampa Bay
Player Focus: Jalen McMillan is highlighted for his recent target volume and potential upside in a favorable matchup.
Dave (18:21): "Jaylen McMillan has six to seven targets in three straight games."
Running Backs Discussion: Chuba Hubbard is recommended as a reliable RB2, emphasizing his role in the passing game.
Dave (30:37): "Chuba Hubbard still has the potential to four catches and still score at the goal line."
b. Green Bay vs. Minnesota
Quarterback Matchup: Jordan Love's pass attempts are scrutinized, with discussions on the Packers' defense against quarterbacks.
Adam (37:33): "Over 30 pass attempts, then I think we'll have a lot of good fantasy production on our bench."
Receiver Strategy: Tucker Kraft is favored over other Packers receivers due to his target reliability when Christian Watson is unavailable.
Dave (41:28): "He'd be the one I'd be more concerned about."
c. Atlanta vs. Washington
Receiver Rankings: Drake London is ranked higher than Darnell Mooney due to his big-play potential.
Dave (45:15): "Mooney's still more of a big play threat than a guy that will get fed as much."
Defensive Impact: Sam LaPorta's performance against tight ends is discussed, recommending him as a start.
Dave (58:03): "Start Sam LaPorta unless you have Johnny Smith."
d. Detroit vs. San Francisco
Running Backs Evaluation: Jameson Williams, Deebo Samuel, and Isaac Garendo are assessed based on their matchups and recent performances.
Dave (22:37): "I'll go Jameson, Garendo, Debo."
Player Strategies: Emphasis on starting players like Jameson Williams over others due to matchup advantages.
Jamie (24:03): "I'd start JMO over Devonte."
e. Dallas vs. Philadelphia
Wide Receiver Analysis: Focus on the impact of C.D. Lamb's absence on Rico Dowdle's performance.
Dave (64:27): "This game could have been so much fun."
Running Back Choices: Ferguson is recommended over TJ Hawkinson based on matchup considerations.
Dave (65:40): "Ferguson."
f. Las Vegas vs. New Orleans
Running Back Selection: Amir Abdullah is preferred over Alexander Madison for his explosive potential.
Jamie (70:07): "I just think that he's the more explosive player."
Strategic Recommendations: Emphasis on selecting Abdullah for his ability to score and accumulate points without relying solely on touchdowns.
Jamie (71:08): "Abdullah can overcome being second in overall touches."
Adam (75:17): "One more week. That's what we do every single day."
The Fantasy Football Today team wraps up by encouraging listeners to stay engaged, adjust their strategies based on the latest updates, and utilize the insights provided to clinch victory in their leagues.
Jamie (76:22): "So whatever football you want a football. We're talking NFL football... Stream your football on Paramount Plus Big Ten football available at the Paramount plus with Showtime."
