Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the podcast. That's the Fantasy Footballers Podcast. Don't be nasty. I'm your host today. I'm the captain now. It's Mike the Fantasy Hitman. Right? With my best friend Jason.
Andy Holloway
Best friends. Daddy's gone. Daddy's gone. Foot Clan. We gonna do and talk about whatever we want today.
Mike Wright
Well, not, I mean, dynasty.
Andy Holloway
Well, that's what we want.
Mike Wright
I guess it is.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I want to talk about Dynasty today. And you know what?
Mike Wright
We just made a Dynasty trade.
Andy Holloway
We sure did. And I was looking through this and it's gonna come into the show via one of the questions.
Mike Wright
Okay? So stand by. We will talk about our trade. It is Thursday, May 15th. Welcome in, everybody. It is the second day. It's the final day of Dynasty Week, the fifth annual.
Andy Holloway
Technically, it is not. It is the final show of Dynasty week. But Dynasty Week for the Dynasty Week giveaway will actually go through till our next show on Tuesday. So if you want to check that out@footclangiveaway.com you can enter to get that Nico Collins signed jersey.
Mike Wright
The Ultimate Draft kit. We are 17 days away from the official unveiling of the 2025 UDK June 1st.
Andy Holloway
It's hot. It's. It's good, man.
Mike Wright
Our initial stat runs are completed. Our initial lists for sleepers, breakouts, bust values, those things are completed. And you can check all of those things out on June 1st should you want to pick up the UDK, which is ultimate draft kit dot com. It is the lowest price. The price because it's preordered right now. It will go up on June 1st. So I suggest for something, look, you're going to, you're going to grab it, you're going to dominate your draft.
Andy Holloway
Might as well save some cash right.
Mike Wright
Now, Keesh, while you're doing it. Ultimate Draft Kit.com before we get into the actual quick question though, Jay. We must introduce the week.
Andy Holloway
Welcome to Dynasty week. That's a good intro also.
Mike Wright
Yes. So the fearless leader, Andrew Holloway, he was off today, but don't worry. The cardboard bear extraordinaire, Jay Grizz, he's back. Oh, my God. I forgot about it. I feel like Jay Gris has been hibernating for so long, I forgot to get a note.
Andy Holloway
No one's missed the show in a while, but you know, the sickness gets everybody sometimes. Andy's. Andy's down.
Mike Wright
So the quick question for today, look, it's Dynasty week. Rookie fever. We all got it. Maybe that's what Andy's out with.
Andy Holloway
Oh, yeah. He's like.
Mike Wright
Because he's rookie.
Andy Holloway
105.5 degrees.
Mike Wright
I would go to the hospital for.
Andy Holloway
For sure for that.
Mike Wright
But if you remember, Jason, he declared that he's probably a rebuilding team now.
Andy Holloway
Oh, no. So he's going to have rookie.
Mike Wright
Yeah, he's going to have actual rookie fever. I've, I've gotten a few trade proposals. He's trying to cash some value, get those rookie picks so he can actually rebuild. But speaking about rookies for this year, who is a later round rookie pick not getting talked about enough?
Andy Holloway
Well, I will bring up Andy's answer first because he was prepared for the show. It's rookie tight end for the Jets, Mason Taylor. And I know you hate Mason Taylor.
Mike Wright
No, I hate it because look, we all have him. We all have him statted at a point that, yes, we need to be talking about Mason no dog Taylor.
Andy Holloway
You don't like that. He is not a tackle breaker and he doesn't seem like he has that dog in him.
Mike Wright
It's not a question about doesn't seem.
Andy Holloway
Okay, so he doesn't. Well, I'll just grant you no dog in that guy.
Mike Wright
Thank you.
Andy Holloway
But you don't have to have the dog to get a bunch of targets.
Mike Wright
DNA test, 100% no dog.
Andy Holloway
So. Well, I mean, DNA test, I don't know about no dog in the DNA. He is the son of a hall of Famer.
Mike Wright
Sure.
Andy Holloway
With plenty of dog in him. So maybe, maybe it's just a young pup in there, but Mason Taylor, drafted very high and finds himself and I liked his tape a lot more than you did. You were so put off by the lack of dog. I just saw a pro ready going to be where he's supposed to be. I mean he might be one of those like catch it and fall down type of guys, which is strange.
Mike Wright
The Zach Ertz.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. But Zach Ertz can be relevant. You could call it Zach Ertz has dog.
Mike Wright
I'm just.
Andy Holloway
I'll put that out there, you know. Tyler.
Mike Wright
Stop saying that.
Andy Holloway
Tyler Conklin is gone and that is a lot of targets. That's 72 targets, 51 receptions at the tight end position. That's gone. But it's not just him. Devonte Adams is gone. There are, you know, it's Garrett Wilson and then question marks. So Mesa Taylor has an opportunity to come in and be good. We all have him projected for 70 plus targets which is crazy high for a rookie and we did that independent of one another. So I think it's a name that that's a third round or even an undrafted sometimes rookie pick that isn't talked about enough right now.
Mike Wright
Yeah, the rook. The so right now where it stands right now with with the UDK and the stats which by the way, if you're newer to the show, the ultimate draft kit. This. We update this to kickoff. So that's why I when I said we're done with our initial run, it's because the initial run is done right now and that thing will stay alive living and breathing throughout the offseason as news updates. But rookie tight ends who have had 70 or more targets with 50 or more receptions over the last decade, it's a very small list. It's Evan Angrum. It's Kyle Pitts, Pat Friar. Muth.
Andy Holloway
The Muth.
Mike Wright
Oh man. Remember when the Muth got loose.
Andy Holloway
He was youth.
Mike Wright
What a year. Sam Laporta, Dalton Kincaid and Brock Bauer. So it is a very small list and but I agree that he's. He's in a situation where someone has to step up for this team and I he could be a pro ready guy. Talking about Mason Taylor, but college career he was a 10.1 yards per reception. That's the lowest rate for any tight end in this class. So you can make your own assumptions from that. Yeah, Jason, who do you want to talk about?
Andy Holloway
The player that I am bringing to the table is Jalen Milroe, quarterback that got drafted to the Seattle Seahawks. This is a guy that isn't getting talked about a ton because he's not a starter. He doesn't Have a job.
Mike Wright
Sam Darnold just got that money, he.
Andy Holloway
Got paid so they drafted him as a backup. But for fantasy football, this is a player who has a path ahead of him. Like Sam Darnold is essentially on a one year trial deal. They can move on pretty quickly. And Sam Darnold can go out there and you know, take the bull by the horns, show that he's a great, you know, leveled up quarterback and then Jalen Milroe is nothing. Or Sam Darnold can go out there, still play even pretty good and have a few games where he collapses and at the end of the season kind of like what happened last year and then all of a sudden it's not his job or Sam Donald could just go out there and suck. And then they go, well, let's see what we got in the rookie. Because Jalen Milroe is, I mean 65 runs of 10 plus yards over the last two years. There were a lot of general managers and scouts during the, you know, the draft season talking about how Jalen Milroe might be the best, the best runner over the last several years. And we've had, you know, we've had great mobile quarterbacks, but this guy is a runner and if you look at him as a passer, he's definitely more accomplished than Anthony Richardson. You know, Anthony Richardson's last year at Florida was 53% completion percentage. Jalen Melro at Bama 64.3. And his, and you know, the knock on him is he's not a great passer but he's a great runner. He has a path towards, I think finding starts and if he gets the opportunity, he will be in fantasy lineups. Like if he, if it's like, oh, Darnold goes down for a week.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Stream of the week will be Jalen Milroe.
Andy Holloway
Exactly. Because that rushing upside, you know, he's going to get the ball in his hands, you know, and carry the ball a lot. So I think, you know, he goes undrafted in pretty much every single single quarterback dynasty league and he should be rostered.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I agree. I think you should pick him up. And I want to talk about Bashel Tootin. Are we good?
Andy Holloway
I'm telling you, man.
Mike Wright
Are we really doing this?
Andy Holloway
I don't know yet. I'm trying. But there is a chance that if this man has a 10 year career, I will do it every time, like forever. I don't know yet. So Bash, you smart? Smart.
Mike Wright
He's, he was around four pick. So this, it's a day three running Back odds are already stacked against him. We just, we know that historically, if you're drafted on day three as a running back, your chance of ever turning into anything of fantasy relevance for us, it's very low. But of the guys who are being drafted later, he's in a position where things could change rapidly for him. Number one, just setting the table of who he is. 59206, smaller like him, a little bit bigger, but that's not the end like this.
Andy Holloway
This is not where he's not 5-919.
Mike Wright
You're not looking like, oh man, Devon HN. He's way too small. And so Bashul is at a point where it's all right, but he's fast. A 4, 3, 2. At the combine, there was a quote. I had never seen this question, but Kyle put it in and I like it. And he was asked, when was the last time you were not the fastest person on your team? Bashful said, that's never happened. Which, I mean, that's just fun. He hit a production profile in terms of receptions in college that we see from guys who turned into actual real fantasy players. And it's about where did he go? Well, he went to the Jaguars. The Travis ETN has seemingly fallen out of grace with a lot, at least the fantasy community.
Andy Holloway
Oh yeah, we all hate him.
Mike Wright
Last year, what the product he was putting on the field was. It was not great. We saw it turn into a much larger timeshare with Tank Bigsby, who Tank Bigsby was the butt of like all jokes. And then Tank comes in and has actually a pretty good year. Not in the passing game. Tank Bigsby is exclusively a grinder. But what is, what are they going to do with Travis etn?
Andy Holloway
I'm just etn. Last year, for context here, etn, they basically split him and take Bigsby pretty much split the carries for the same team behind the same offensive line. And yards per carry is not everything. But Travis ETN was sitting down there at 3.7, whereas Tank was at 4.6. The pass catching back was Travis Etienne. And so if he's inefficient as a runner and slowing some things down and then they get Tootin in, then I think there is a chance he takes.
Mike Wright
Over, giving you enough options.
Andy Holloway
He takes over some of the passing work, which will hurt etn, but also gives the path for fantasy goodness.
Mike Wright
Yeah, there is a path where it's. It's Tank Bigsby and it's Tootin. Like that's who the runners are. For Jacksonville, we just saw Liam Cohen now, he wasn't the head coach, but we saw him with Bucky Irving a day three running back say no. What? He is the best player. Rashad White is ineffective. We can't keep giving him the volume over and over. We got to get someone with juice out there. So I've seen there's a chance that Tootin ends up becoming that player. I. In rookie drafts, I tend to shy away from the. At least you know, with my first or my early seconds, I shy away from this type of a profile. But his in particular, because of the scenario around him makes him very interesting and I think worth taking in the second round.
Andy Holloway
I agree with what you're saying, but I still wouldn't overdo it.
Mike Wright
No, no, no, no.
Andy Holloway
I wouldn't take him over a day.
Mike Wright
To wide receiver, which I did not.
Andy Holloway
So other than maybe Tesla. So the law.
Mike Wright
Yeah, Tesla.
Andy Holloway
The.
Mike Wright
In ours, in our main Dynasty league, I had two picks that were very close together. I think it was just Josh. I don't know if you remember Josh, but in between where I went, I ended up with Pat Bryant and Kyle Williams. So Pat Bryant, third rounder by the Broncos, Kyle Williams, third rounder by the Patriots. And in between, Josh took Tootin. And with like, you know, after the draft, I was very happy about it. Now I kind of wish I would have gone Kyle Williams and Tuton, but I mean, we'll definitely have to wait and see. We got lower probability, I think on all of those guys. But for a day three running back, he should definitely be on your radar. All right, let's move into some news.
Andy Holloway
News and notes from around the league. Oh yeah, they call him the King.
Mike Wright
So if you've been with the show for any amount of time, there was a moment last year where Derek Henry was a free agent and I had done the kind of the. A cardinal sin of Dynasty of I traded for a really old running back because I was trying to make a championship run. And so I traded for Derek Henry and then he had no job and it was like, what is going on? And all the rumors were Baltimore was going to sign him, but it just, it kept stretching to a point where it became really uncomfortable or Dallas. And then he signed with Baltimore and it was just fists pumped in the air for all Dynasty managers with Derek Henry on the team. And we pumped the fists again as a running back. Two as the old man signed a two year contract extension. Seems he will average more than 15.
Andy Holloway
Mil a year, 25 million fully guaranteed. So this is a legit two year deal.
Mike Wright
This is so awesome.
Andy Holloway
Most of the time when you see two year deals for running backs, it's really a one year deal. Right. This is a two. Derek Henry will be there starting running back for two more years, which is, at his age, impossible. Yes, but I mean, for Derek, For Derek, you don't bet against this guy. You don't do the age, the carry count. There aren't people like him. He's a one of one.
Mike Wright
No, no, there are not. There are not guys of his age changing teams and then finishing as the running back to him and, and watching him play. This was not, you know, my, my gripes always with Joe Mixon are like, you're just, you're just getting the ball over and over and they have no one else. Like King Henry was getting the ball over and over and he was awesome.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I mean, if it wasn't Saquon, I mean, I think people don't realize how good Derek Henry was last year because of Saquon. Like Saquon was going to break the rushing record. You know, it was like. And then he wasn't given that opportunity. I mean, Derek Henry wasn't that far behind it. 1921 yards. And I know we've talked a lot about the amount of carries that Saquon has received and the amount of yards. When you have a running back that goes over 1500 yards the next year, it is very rare for them to repeat that. It's really only happened once. It was Derek Henry. Yes.
Mike Wright
I'll bet on him again. Yeah, I'll do it again.
Andy Holloway
So this is just great news. And for a dynasty, I mean, goodness gracious, every single Derek Henry manager out there is just no pants.
Mike Wright
If you're like, oh, I get at least two. Yeah, I get two tries with Derek Henry. That is incredible. I know I hit the news button, but that's, that's really the only news we're going to cover.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, that's fine. I know that John Morton, the Lions offensive coordinator is calling for a. He says it's going to be a breakout year for Jameson Williams. I know Andy very much agrees with that.
Mike Wright
My, my projections for Jameson Williams were also very positive. I'm not, it's hard to, you know, put together the puzzle of we're getting this where we were getting all those rumors leaked out before the draft of Jameson Williams seems like one of the prime trade away candidates. Obviously not traded, but. So he'll be, he'll be difficult, but he is, his profile is trending in a very positive direction. But the, like, the Addition of. Of Tesla. Like, was this a. We're getting prepared to lose Jameson Williams that like it in the draft. That's what it felt like.
Andy Holloway
I do not know what to do with Tesla.
Mike Wright
I don't either.
Andy Holloway
He is the weirdest prospect, I think in the draft five years.
Mike Wright
Draft him with the last pick in the third round of your. Of your rookie drafts and let him sit there and see what happens.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. So weird to have that kind of draft capital on a great team, that kind of athleticism. And there's like. But it, but, but is he good? Like, it doesn't matter if he's not a good wide receiver.
Mike Wright
Yeah, it's weird because his, his dominance was. I don't know if it was a juco or just a. I don't know what the classification was before he moved to Arkansas, which then he moved and then.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Hillsdale College. Thank you, Kyle. Hillsdale, is that. That's in Back to the Future and then go to. You transfer to an actual big boy.
Andy Holloway
School and do nothing.
Mike Wright
And you do nothing. I mean, you have a couple highlight plays but really no production to speak of. So he's very difficult. Andy Holloway
Mailbag.
Mike Wright
Dynasty. All right. If you like to ask us a question, you can visit the website, click on the Submit a question. We often put out calls on the social media as well, asking for questions when we know we will be answering quite a few of them. Or we do have a voicemail hotline. You can call that at 302-464-TFFB and we have one voicemail. We're going to answer that question right now.
Andy Holloway
Hey ballers, it's Mikey from Manhattan. How do you differentiate between prospects that are similarly slotted in adp? Looking at guys like Higgins, Kyle Williams, guys like that, how do you differentiate between them?
Mike Wright
Thanks. So the question, yeah, so similar, similar feeling, you know, tiered type of wide receivers. How do you end up ranking them in the specifics where Jaden Higgins, he was drafted by the Texans in the second. Jack Besh, who we all on this show and our Dynasty podcast universally love, he was a second round pick and then Kyle Williams, who went in the third was not projected to go there. So jd, how, how are you looking at this type and then these three specifics.
Andy Holloway
When you've got like similar archetypes, there are a handful of tiebreakers. For me, I'm going to think what did I think of the prospect? Like, did I hate one of them and love one of them? That's probably going to flip it first and foremost because whether I liked the prospect or didn't like a prospect, a lot of times has to go with their production profile and their age and their film. So it's kind of those three things. When you look at these guys, specifically Jaden Higgins, Jack Besh, Kyle Williams, they're 22.4 years old, 22.4 years old and 22.8 years old. So the, there's no tiebreaker there. They all had similar draft capital. Obviously Higgins and Besh were better draft capital. So they're going to be ahead of Kyle Williams here. And then the final thing comes down to like, well, what's the opportunity? What's the spot? What's the quarterback? And so if I look at those, I mean, Jaden Higgins, right when the draft was over, I was like, that was a, that was a great landing spot for him. But he's got, you know, Jalen Noel, who I think, well, went after him, who went the next round. But I liked Noel as a prospect better coming in. So I was like, okay, two rookies coming in, I'm not even sure which one I like better. But then stating out the UDK and going and doing the work and looking at formations and stuff like that, it's like, okay, just, just lay it out. You got Nico Collins on one side. The other side of the field is almost definitely going to be Jaden Higgins.
Mike Wright
Jaden Higgins, yes.
Andy Holloway
And then you're going to have Jalen Noel and Christian Kirk kind of fighting over that slot role and they'll all mix in and move over a little bit. It's not all black and white like that. But Jaden Higgins projects right now to be a day one full time wide receiver. Not leaving the field very much for a young great quarterback. So I like Besh more as a like pre NFL draft prospect. I liked him better. But the opportunity in the landing spot for Higgins, I think I've flipped now and I'll take Higgins ahead of Besh and Kyle Williams.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I like that. Talking through that process. Link me to a young quarterback who seems like Stroud will be the Texans quarterback until he's done playing.
Andy Holloway
Geno is, you know, thankfully Besh finds himself in a situation where now the Raiders have a quarterback. Geno is a good quarterback. Yes. I won't hear otherwise.
Mike Wright
He's accurate.
Andy Holloway
Yes, he's accurate. He can, I mean he's fine enough for DK Metcalf, he was fine enough for jsn, supported, you know, a great season for Tyler Lockett. But he's also going to play at 35 years old this year. So what's their future plan? Their future plan is not Geno Smith. CJ Stroud is their current and future plan.
Mike Wright
Yeah. So a couple quick notes for that Jack Besh. On the opposite side of the field, it's Jacoby Myers, who is a very underrated wide receiver and will be. Was he officially in our values for the udk?
Andy Holloway
No, we can't really.
Mike Wright
Well, we can.
Andy Holloway
We gotta. He is.
Mike Wright
You gotta, you gotta. Yeah, he first one's free.
Andy Holloway
Give a little bumps, a little taste. Yeah. No, Jacoby Myers is a value this year.
Mike Wright
He's under his final year or he's playing under his final year. And so like Besh could be the future of the wide receiver position for this. And then the final thing I'll say about Kyle Williams, where rookie for the Patriots. Yeah. Thank you. He ended up not being a huge reach for the New England Patriots based off of mock draft information, which they're like, they're. I've seen, you know, studies like a good friend of the show, J.J. zachary. He kind of turned me onto this of like looking at players who on you know, mock drafts, which we're all, we're all pretty dumb when it comes to mock dress. We're talking real NFL, but players who were being mocked at a certain area and then a team goes and gets that player. Like they reach. They reach for that player. They're tooting is it turns out bad generally speaking for those players, it's not a tremendous hit rate. But the Kyle Williams gap did close over the final month. So not as much of a reach. But yeah, I'm going to take draft capital the second round and I'm going to take situation of Jaden Higgins for those three guys. All right, got another question here. It says what are some common pitfalls that you see in dynasty leagues and drafts?
Andy Holloway
Yeah. So we in the, you know, if you get the udk plus we do have a whole dynasty tips section in the dynasty pass. Can't cover everything here. But the number one tip that I would say to avoid the pitfall that I see happen is swinging the pendulum too far because it's a dynasty league and changing your, you know, like I only draft youth, basically. I see managers that are. They go so young and so promised and so potential oriented that they never actually get it together. They never end up with a roster that can compete and win a championship. And then you see other people that are just like, I'm going to take all the value on the veterans, and then they don't think about the age. So it's really just the extremes on the outside. If you're going to put together a good dynasty roster, you need to have veterans and youth. And I think too often people think like, I'm. They put themselves in a box. You know, they're like, I am a rebuild or I am a. I am a contender. And so it's like, I only want one piece. But really in Dynasty, you just need to be going for value at any age. And then, you know, you want people that can perform now and perform in the future. And, you know, that's the one thing I think when I look at great rosters in dynasty leagues, they always have a mixture. I'm always like, oh, they got this stud veteran, this stud veteran. Oh, they got that young guy and that guy, that young guy. And I look at all the bad teams and they're just like, oh, but look at the youth. Oh, but look how my Average age.
Mike Wright
Is 22 years old any day now.
Andy Holloway
Right. So it's like it, you know, if I had to criticize one more than the other, I think it would be overdoing the youth.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Andy Holloway
Caring too much about age and not about production.
Mike Wright
I liked the phrase of people put themselves in a box because I think people do that with who they want to trade for. And like, dynasty can be tricky of. You get caught up in a name like, oh, man, I gotta go get this player. Instead of zooming out and saying, I need this type of a player and being more open to. Open to more players who fit into that mold so you can go to more teams and figure out where does a trade actually make sense? Because you can. There'll be teams. Like, Jay, you just told me, like, I went to your team to try and make a trade and it just. We weren't compatible. Yeah, you were trying to.
Andy Holloway
I was looking to capitalize on Breeze Hall's early success still youth and name and try to trade Breeze hall for a, you know, a young running back and a pick or a maybe one of the incoming rookies that I think might be better. And then I looked at your roster and you've got good running backs, but.
Mike Wright
It'S like, I got ARP running backs.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you've got Christian McCaffrey and Derek Henry. It's like, that doesn't. It's going to be great. It just didn't fit the. What I was trying to achieve.
Mike Wright
Right. And so when you opening it. But that's like you have, you know, what you're looking for. It's not a specific player. So when and when you get locked in. So if you had come to my team and you're like, I want this player because we're not as compatible with trading one of us, either that we're just going to talk for hours and the trade is going to go nowhere, or someone is going to end up paying more than they want to pay for that trade to go through.
Andy Holloway
Whenever you're locked in on a guy, you're always going to overpay. And sometimes every now and then, that's okay. But you just got to know, like, I'm willing to overpay. I'm that determined on that guy.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Sometimes you got to know you're in the box.
Mike Wright
Sometimes you got to swing. And sometimes you swing and you get CD Lamb the year he breaks out. Sometimes you swing and you get Crystal Lave from last year.
Andy Holloway
I've done. I've done.
Mike Wright
I've done one of those things. Not the Olave version.
Andy Holloway
That's all right. I did it last year with Drake London.
Mike Wright
You did?
Andy Holloway
You.
Mike Wright
I think you stole Drake London. Next question is from off of IG from Spencer Borschelt. What does it take to trade for a player like Jamar Chasing Dynasty?
Andy Holloway
Thanos has your answer. I mean, what did it cost? Everything. I mean, you can't trade for Jamar Chase.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
You know, it's funny because whenever I see a dynasty question of which side do you like? And I see, you know, it's like, okay, Jamar Chase. And then I'm like, done. Like, every now and then, you'll finish reading that question and go, oh, okay, okay. But it's really going to take an overwhelming offer. It's going to take something where it's.
Mike Wright
Like, you better have an abundance of riches.
Andy Holloway
I mean, to me, it would require I'm getting CD Lamb or Justin Jefferson plus, and people aren't looking to trade CD Lamb and Justin Jefferson plus stuff. So I don't know. I think, you know, Justin Jamar Chase should just be thought of as untouchable. I mean, go try to. Go try to acquire him.
Mike Wright
The thing is, either a team, it feels strong enough that they're going to make a run, and they're going to say, no way, Jamar Chase. I'm trying to win a championship this year, and that's about the best player I can have on my team to win a championship. Or you go to someone who's rebuilding, like, no way. And you're like, no way. This is the best Rebuilding wide receiver you could possibly have.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. What you need to do is right now go look in your league if you're not the Jamar Chase manager. Jamar Chase manager. And then you look at that, that team and you say, okay, what do I know about, you know, that guy? Oh, he's a Packers fan. Oh, he's a Cowboys fan or he's whatever. How can I try to swindle him out of Jamar Chase? Offer a huge package and then see if you get lucky. Otherwise move on.
Mike Wright
Next question is Tyler off of IG Said trade Ashton Genty for CD Lamb.
Andy Holloway
Okay, I know my answer.
Mike Wright
This is pretty philosophical.
Andy Holloway
It is. And I'm, you know, for me it's, it's very, very easy. So I'm curious where, where you stand is that difficult question?
Mike Wright
I think it's difficult because it feels a whole lot cooler to have Ashton Genty on your roster right now because.
Andy Holloway
He'S, he's the hotness.
Mike Wright
He's the new hotness. He, he should be like this perennial top five fantasy running back for the next three to five years.
Andy Holloway
Should be.
Mike Wright
But CD Lamb is that, and CD.
Andy Holloway
Lamb is a five year age gap. CD Lamb is 26 and Ashton Genti is 21.
Mike Wright
Oh, man. So it's. I guess you start with the question with how many years do you feel like CD Lamb has left to be a top producer for? Okay, if you're going to. So four years and then Genti is.
Andy Holloway
Like five or six.
Mike Wright
Yeah, but I would. It doesn't matter what running back. If when we're talking right at the beginning, I'm not. Don't count those chickens ever with the money back.
Andy Holloway
No, you say okay, I say I.
Mike Wright
Hope I get three.
Andy Holloway
He's generational. Maybe he plays like Saquon great at age 28 and you get seven years. That could happen. Maybe he's Todd Gurley, who, Who's also great and is the number one running back in fantasy football. And it goes and vanishes into thin air. Running backs, you cannot count on the second contract. That's why I like the age thing with RJ Harvey. Yeah, he's older and that's not great.
Mike Wright
You know, if it's fine for this.
Andy Holloway
First run, but the first contract is what I care about the most. So to me, it's an easy CD Lamb. I want the wide receiver over the running back in dynasty formats I've got. You know, if this was a startup draft, I'm drafting a handful of wide receivers before I, you know, I'm going to, I'M going to take Puka. I'm going to take Malik Neighbors. I'm going to take Brian Thomas Jr. I'm going to take Almond Ross St. Brown before I start taking Bijan, who I have ahead of Genti.
Mike Wright
Yeah, is Ashton Genti. Is he Bijan or is he Leonard Fournette? Like when you had the one on one and you got Leonard Fournette because he was taking what, fourth overall in the NFL draft? It was Kyle, you can vet me on that one. But it was like that one felt fantastic. Yeah, fourth overall for Leonard Fournette. And he was.
Andy Holloway
And he was good. He was good.
Mike Wright
Oh, the dumb man.
Andy Holloway
The dump truck.
Mike Wright
Yeah, that's the thing. He had to turn into the dump truck. Yeah, that's where things got with Leonard Fournette very quick.
Andy Holloway
You could just grab the little dump offs with that badonkadonk and he wasn't good, but he was fine enough for fantasy.
Mike Wright
This next question is from Galli. Wag 8 off of IG. What do I do with Jaden Reed? Green Bay packers wide receiver. He's entering year three. He just turned 25.
Andy Holloway
And here we are.
Mike Wright
The packers looked at Matthew golden in the first round, Savion Williams in the third round, which Williams is a. Is a different type of wide receiver. Apparently. We are told through the grapevine that I think the drafting of these wide receivers ruffled some feathers in the Jaden Reed camp and they had to meet.
Andy Holloway
Well, Drew Rosenhaus is his agent and so English stand for that. He wants another big contract here soon.
Mike Wright
I like how they said they had to meet to, you know, talk about his. To make sure that he knows his role. And it was like his role is a part time player.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, his role, his role is not going to change.
Mike Wright
His role is a 60% snap slot wide receiver.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, basically what they told him.
Mike Wright
He's a good player. Let's start.
Andy Holloway
Basically what they told him is he's still their number one wide receiver. Still. It was like, oh, I was, I was the number one.
Mike Wright
That's awesome.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you didn't, you didn't play the snap counts. Like Jayden Reed is a very good player. Finished as, you know, rookie season, top 24 wide receiver. He is very frustrating.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Andy Holloway
This year I imagine he will be even more frustrating. Adding Matthew golden, having Romeo Dobbs still on the roster. Don Tavian Wicks still on the roster. Adding in Savion Williams, having Tucker Kraft. There are so many mouths to feed. All of these people will make the roster and all of these people will Play snaps. This is the type of offense where they are rotating in different packages and you're going to have some awesome games. Two touchdown games from Jaden Reed and you are going to have so many games that absolutely blow chunks and hurt you. I don't, I mean put it this.
Mike Wright
Way, I heard that one in a while.
Andy Holloway
He was the wide receiver 26. His consistency rating is a D. 35% of his games. Did he hit our threshold of ten and a half fantasy points? 35. The vast majority of time you are unhappy with him. And now there is the chance that Matthew Golden, I don't, I don't, you know, I don't think Matthew golden is that dude. But there is the absolute chance that Matthew Golden, a very good, athletic now first round wide receiver in the NFL draft comes in and takes that number one spot that apparently was Jaden Reed. So Jaden Reed has a place. I view him going forward as a bench player who I'm going to start in the matchups. I want, I mean, that's what I hope. I mean depending on how good your roster is. So this was the, our roster. This was a trade we just made today. I didn't even know about this question. We got offered an offer for Jaden Reed and we were like, huh, do we do this? And the offer, it might sound crazy at first it was Tyree Kill incoming for Jaden Reed.
Mike Wright
Just a one for one swap.
Andy Holloway
Was it?
Mike Wright
And so the stage of that. This is a team that Jason and I managed together and this team is very old. Jaden Reed was like one of our only youthful pieces.
Andy Holloway
Well, we've got Derek Henry.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Oh yeah. We got Travis Kelsey.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Oh yeah. We got Devonte Adams.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
We got Mike Evans.
Mike Wright
Oh yeah.
Andy Holloway
I mean these are good players. They're gonna, we're gonna put up some fantasy points this year. And now we have Tyree Kill because we took that trade.
Mike Wright
We did. Because we had the discussion of what is what this, this was the question, like what do we do with Jaden Reed who is. He is a good NFL wide receiver. The fact that you had the year two that you did where yeah, he saw an improvement in snaps but he saw a downtick in targets. He was more efficient, especially because of week one on the, on that busted field in Brazil.
Andy Holloway
Jaden Reed was supposed to come in and take that second year wide receiver leap forward and be awesome. And in week one he had four receptions, 138 yards, a touchdown through the air, 33 yard rushing, touchdown. In addition was 31 points that fantasy week and was the number one wide receiver in fantasy football last year. And people were making unbelievable trade offers to try to acquire him.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Andy Holloway
If you take that single week out, which I think is fair, it was the first week of the NFL season.
Mike Wright
I think because of field conditions where like the defense couldn't respond because they were all falling over.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. The rest of the season, weeks two through 18, 16 games, also known as an old school full season, he would have had 54 receptions for 763 yards and five touchdowns. I mean, that's just irrelevance.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
So he's a good wide receiver. You're going to be frustrated. He's a best ball type of guy. For me, I want his good games, but I don't want to have to, I don't want to have to play the games where it's like 50% of snaps. He was 3 for 26 against San Francisco, against Chicago, 2 for 23 against Houston, 2 for 10. Like his bad games aren't like there's no baseline. They are destructive. So sometimes a player like that can just be a landmine. And he just, you know, he's going to help. Help you 35% of the time. Actively hurt you 65% of the time. You should probably try to get something out of them.
Mike Wright
So speaking of Tyree Kill, we got another question here from Zach off of IG who said, I don't know which side they're on, but this is the question. Kyron Williams or Tyree kill? And a 2027 first round pick. Tyreek, recently turned 31. Had that awful year, a massive dip of a year.
Andy Holloway
I mean, what's funny is if you're, if you're just tuning back in this year or you're new to the fantasy footballers and you haven't listened. Like this off season I have pretty much declared myself out on Tyree Kill. You know, I don't.
Mike Wright
Second half was much better, but this was not a. He was not putting up the points of a top tier wide receiver.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And at that age you don't usually bounce back back to the previous younger production. And we saw a change of style in tua. So I'm kind of not super thrilled that I don't expect Tyreek Hill to be awesome again. And he's old. So Kyren Williams for Tyreek and a first.
Mike Wright
It's a lot.
Andy Holloway
That's a. I mean, that's a lot. I love Kyron Williams. I believe in him. I am not worried about Jarquez. I'm not worried about Blake Corum. I said this a bunch last year and then, you know, it was one of my things to remember on the things to remember episode was like, when you bring in a rookie, if you've got an established veteran who's good, stop worrying about it. And they brought in, you know, they brought in Quorum last year and everyone.
Mike Wright
Was like, oh, third round, it's going.
Andy Holloway
To be a timeshare. And then, and then somehow Kyron got more snaps. It was like crazy. So I believe in Kyron 100%. To me this comes down to like, how can you, can you hold out until this contract comes?
Mike Wright
Right?
Andy Holloway
Because if I knew the contract negotiations are going on with Kyron, there's reports that like they're hopeful to get something done. And usually when those reports happen, they come to fruition. Not always. If, if something came out tomorrow that Kyron just got, you know, a, you know, a four year extension, pretty much like a, you know, a three year real guaranteed contract. I would take the Kyren over the Tyreek in the first.
Mike Wright
Okay, we're going to hit another break here real quick but Jay, I'm going to get you a question I want you to ponder because I was. I'm trying to think of Jamar Chase. Like, how do you even get him? It's like, okay, let's say the situation is your team. Your wide receiver depth is actually pretty good and you have Jamar.
Andy Holloway
Okay?
Mike Wright
Someone comes along and they offer you Ashton Genty and Omarion Hampton. Okay, so think about that and we'll be right back.
Andy Holloway

If he had Jamar and wide receiver depth and needed running back, would you trade Jamar Chase, the number one player in Dynasty, for Ashton Genty and Omarion Hampton?
Andy Holloway
Okay, let's think through this. Well, first of all, I do think that the wide receiver depth matters quite a bit. So you got to be realistic with, you know, a lot of people think, oh, I've got wide receiver depth and they don't really, once you take out a star. So let's just hypothetically say that you had an addition to Jamar Chase. CD Lamb, Garrett Wilson.
Mike Wright
Oh, no, no, I'm not doing this trade.
Andy Holloway
Oh, is. But is this.
Mike Wright
What? No, I would know this. This. Honestly, this was out of nowhere. Yeah, this had nothing to do with my team.
Andy Holloway
Okay. I thought for sure. No, because Papa Josh, don't you have Genti and Hampton? Didn't you draft both of them? Yeah, we have, we have Henderson. Oh, okay. I thought you were getting. I thought this was Live. You were getting offered.
Mike Wright
No, no. I was just trying to think of, is there an actual way that you can trade for Jamar Chase?
Andy Holloway
So here's what's funny. You. You said that, and in my mind I thought you're getting offered this trade. Now you're a problem in the Dynasty league. Your team is loaded. Your team is all just to. Just to help people out here. You've done a great job. I'm just going to let people know your roster. Okay. So you got. I can't believe I'm doing this.
Mike Wright
If you're driving, you might want to pull over.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. So you got Joe Burrow up top. Great. Your running back, starters, Christian McCaffrey and Derek Henry.
Mike Wright
Older but long term, not great.
Andy Holloway
But wide receivers, Jamar Chase.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
And CD Lamb. Yeah. And Garrett Wilson. You've got Kenneth Walker. You've got Trey McBride at tight end. Oh, yeah.
Mike Wright
Oh, yeah.
Andy Holloway
And then who else am I missing?
Mike Wright
I mean, my depth is like Pickens, Dobbs is on there.
Andy Holloway
And then.
Mike Wright
So it's really a heavy rookies and backup running backs waiting to take over.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. So when you said this, all I could think is, how can I get Mike to send Jamar Chase away? Like, I. You know what I mean? Like, I was no man, I got that was.
Mike Wright
I can't break up the stack.
Andy Holloway
That was selfish. Where I was like, I want. I don't. Like. I'm going to try to convince you.
Mike Wright
You were going to lie for advice on the show.
Andy Holloway
I wasn't going to lie. I was going to lay it out and talk about your incredible depth at wide receiver and see if I could just get you to get rid of Jamar Chase. So hopefully that's valuable for people listening. So you're saying, no, I would take Jamar Chase.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Which I think just highlights the point yet again, there are very few players. Brooks, you're saying. Not even close. For you.
Andy Holloway
Jamar Chase can do something that Brooks didn't want to answer other people can't do. I mean, you know what Christian McCaffrey used to do, where you're putting up so many points in one roster spot where he's more valuable than just. He's better. Because you still get like Amari and Hampton and Ashton Genti are great, but they take up two roster spots. You're going to. You know what I mean? Like, you're still playing someone else alongside Jamar Chase on your. On your, you know, whatever your 11 starters are. Yeah.
Mike Wright
CD Lamb. Next question here. Oh, this one's interesting. A lot of Justin Herbert talk going on Hunter chalk on IG says Justin Herbert or Cam Ward in a dynasty.
Andy Holloway
So I don't think Cam Ward is going to be a great quarterback.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Andy Holloway
I think so. This is really. What do you believe about Cam Ward? If you're a Titans fan and you're buying the Kool Aid and you want to get out ahead of it and you think he's going to be the next greatest quarterback, then you're getting a huge age gap. I know for a fact Justin Herbert is a great quarterback. I know that because he's a great quarterback. You know, everybody knows it. This is proven at this point. He's still young enough where you've got many years left. And I don't know that I don't believe. And obviously we don't. We don't know. I could be totally wrong. And this could look so stupid someday when he becomes the next Patrick Mahomes. I don't think Cam Ward ever has a season at a Justin Herbert, you know, average season. So I don't care if I get five more years of less quality. You know, I want the higher quality player. That's Herbert.
Mike Wright
All right, next question. Here. Find a good one. Mark says, off of ig, I have both Mark Andrews and Isaiah likely.
Andy Holloway
Me too, brother.
Mike Wright
Okay. Should I try to trade one of them?
Andy Holloway
Dude, I'm just trying to get the Ravens to trade one of them. Just come on. My. I was so hopeful that Mark Andrews would be shipped out at the draft. I'm like, please. Because, man, I, you know, I have been as staunch a Mark Andrews supporter over the career as pretty much exists out there. You know, he was. He was a my guy way back in the day.
Mike Wright
On his breakout season, you went heavy on Mark Andrews. And at that time, both Jason or Andy and I were like, really? Mark Andrews.
Andy Holloway
And then he broke out, became awesome. It was a great several years. I was very happy, but. And I think I have held out as long as I could before believing the end is near. And I've really gotten to the place now where I'm kind of settling into the truth, which is like, he's not the same guy. He was. I watched film and I'm like, he's still open a lot. I feel like if they just threw the ball to him, it would still work. And maybe. I mean, he had. He had a career high in receiving touches.
Mike Wright
Did you hit yourself in the face with your microphone?
Andy Holloway
Yes, I did. I sure did. You saw that, huh? Yeah, I guess it was because you were looking at me that Makes sense. Yep, I sure did. These, these swivel arms are. Did you grease that up, Jerry? Anyways, I, you know, so I, right now, it's tough. I don't, I don't think I trade either one of them. I think you just hold on. And here's why I don't think you're going to get enough for Mark Andrews. I mean, if you, if you've got someone that's offering you something great, awesome, take it. You know, do you have another tight end you could play? I do think this will be the last year in Baltimore for Andrews. And even though, you know, I expect likely to get another contract with the Ravens and he's a good player and so hold on to him, I don't think people are paying up for either one of these players right now. And you're going to get some value while you have them. And hopefully Isaiah likely becomes more valuable at the same time Mark Andrews becomes less valuable. That's my hope on my roster. That's what I'm doing. But obviously if someone out there wants to come and offer a big bag for Mark Andrews, I will take it.
Mike Wright
What about a medium bag?
Andy Holloway
I'll probably chase the double digit touchdown hopeful upside.
Mike Wright
All right, speaking of, we got another tight end question here off of IG. What do I do with TJ Hawkinson? He turns 28 in July. He is under contract for three more years, although the team could get out in a couple. Has the third most guaranteed money left. But having said all that, it's like, when was the last time? Or I guess it's not when I get back in 20, 23. He was the tight end for appearing in only 15 games, but he was over 11 yards or 11 points per game. So I mean, that's, that's very solid. But are you, Are you. So are you still in on Hawkinson?
Andy Holloway
I'm still in on Hawkinson not as a superstar, but as a reliable person to fill your tight end spot. You. You just don't have a lot of options. You know, it's like, okay, there's. There's a team out there with Brock Bowers or team out there with Trey McBride after those guys. There's a team out there with George Kittle, which on a, you know, not a Dynasty sensation.
Mike Wright
He's got to like the contract, love the contract.
Andy Holloway
But he is 31. So I do put George Kittle right up there with him. But outside of that, okay, you got hopeful people and like maybe, maybe Loveland or Tyler Warren becomes something. But historically speaking, I Mean the fact that we have two tight ends right now of massive relevance shows that most years we don't have a tight end added to the fray.
Mike Wright
Would you rather have one of the rookies? Would you rather have Tyler Warren or Colston Loveland?
Andy Holloway
I would not, no. Okay, you, I know that Hawkinson will be a valuable asset on a majority of weeks basis for the next two or three years. Maybe Loveland becomes a superstar and it's so foolish. Oh, he's younger and he's better and you should take it. But there is just as good a chance, in fact, statistically speaking at the tight end position, there is a way higher chance that Loveland and Warren become good NFL players who are not at the tight end position. A, you know, if they become a David Najoku, if they become, you know, a Tucker Kraft, if they become an Evan Ingram, it's like it, it's not changing things in a drastic way. So I would keep, I would keep.
Mike Wright
Hawkinson, I'd take the rookies over Hawkinson. Yeah, I would because Hawkinson, I think he'll be, he'll be a usable guy. He'll be like right in that middle range of being a tight end one. But that, that year two years ago, that was by far his, his best season talking especially per game and he finished that year only 15 games. So he definitely would have broken a thousand. But 960 yards, that's his high.
Andy Holloway
That's pretty high for a tight end. I mean I know it's like 960, he didn't even break a thousand. But, but his most tight ends don't break a thousand.
Mike Wright
I agree. But his high for touchdowns is six. So if you're talking the ceiling right now that, that he has ever put.
Andy Holloway
Up would be something, he's a PPR.
Mike Wright
Guy would be like a 960 and 6, which that is, that's good that like you're glad you have that because there's people who have absolutely nothing. I'm, I'm talking specifically right now about trading for the rookies of.
Andy Holloway
So let me compare him to another player that is the complete opposite archetype. Let's talk about Sam Laporta.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Let's say they're both 25 years old or both 28. Whatever, they're the same age. Would you rather have a player like Sam Laporta who has had double digit touchdowns and finished as the, as the Titan one, A higher fantasy finish than Hawkinson has ever finished. But he's a guy that's going to go out there like this last year and catch 60 passes and if you don't get the touch, he has still had seven touchdowns. But this last year, you know, he's only averaging nine points per game. Which archetype of type of player would you rather have on your roster? Regardless of age?
Mike Wright
I'll take the cowards way out of. If I'm in a full ppr, I guess I would go with the Hawkinson.
Andy Holloway
Unless I'm in a standard, I'm taking the Hawkinson both in half.
Mike Wright
I'll take the Laporta one because I want, I want spike weeks out of my tight end where if I go in I'm like oh my tight end got me three points again. That's, that's what I'm expecting. But when they can actually make a difference instead of just I don't, I want them to raise my ceiling and not my floor.
Andy Holloway
I want the exact opposite. The way that I look at the tight end position is I want reliable because every, every tight end can give you a spike week. Najoku Evan Ingram, like it's just. Did he catch a touchdown? Tucker Kraft can go out there and be awesome for a week but I don't want it to be a hole every other week that he doesn't catch a touchdown. I want a baseline of a lot of points and then if a, if a touchdown comes, great. I mean because like the 10 touchdown rookie season where Laporta finished as the tight end one, he was only 11 and a half points per game. It wasn't, you know, it's like. And that was with double digit touchdowns.
Mike Wright
Man, the. I know last year Hawkinson was coming back from a devastating knee injury. He didn't get into action until week nine. And you in the, in his first four games you have two duds but then you have two electric games, you know, 8 for 72 on in his second game back, his fourth game back 7 for 114 and then it, the wheels completely fell off.
Andy Holloway
Part of it might be. What do you believe about JJ McCarthy now? Sure, if you are a JJ McCarthy believer and you've got a young stud quarterback, that's, that's really enticing. And I think, I think this whole table is pretty bullish on JJ McCarthy as a, as a. Yeah, I would say we are. I don't know yet if he will be great for Fish, but I think he'll be.
Mike Wright
Oh, Jay Grizz actually disagrees.
Andy Holloway
Oh, Jay Grizz does not like hearing the Vikings do well. Yeah. But I think McCarthy is going to be a very good.
Mike Wright
He's a bear for the people at home.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Jay Grizz is a cardboard bear, and so his team.
Mike Wright
Hold on.
Andy Holloway
Surprising.
Mike Wright

Fantasy Footballers Podcast Summary
Episode: Dynasty Pitfalls + Rookie Sleepers, Mix it Up!
Release Date: May 15, 2025
The episode opens with hosts Andy Holloway, Jason Moore (referred to as Jay Grizz), and Mike "The Fantasy Hitman" Wright diving into the excitement of Dynasty Week. Mike enthusiastically announces, “It is Dynasty time. It’s Mailbag time” (22:06), setting the stage for an in-depth discussion on dynasty league strategies and rookie evaluations.
1. Mason Taylor – Rookie Tight End for the Jets
Andy prepares for this segment by introducing Mason Taylor as a promising rookie tight end:
“It’s rookie tight end for the Jets, Mason Taylor. And I know you hate Mason Taylor.” (04:13)
Mike expresses skepticism about Taylor's potential:
“You don’t have to have the dog to get a bunch of targets.” (05:24)
Despite initial reservations, Andy highlights Taylor’s opportunity with an upended Jets roster:
“Mesa Taylor has an opportunity to come in and be good. We all have him projected for 70 plus targets which is crazy high for a rookie.” (06:28)
2. Jalen Milroe – Undervalued Quarterback Prospect
Andy introduces Jalen Milroe as a quarterback with significant rushing upside:
“Jalen Milroe is nothing. Or Sam Darnold can go out there, still play even pretty good... and then Jalen Milroe is nothing.” (07:49)
Mike labels Milroe as the “Stream of the week” due to his dual-threat capabilities:
“He has a path toward finding starts and if he gets the opportunity, he will be in fantasy lineups.” (09:35)
3. Bashel Tootin – Rising Running Back in Jacksonville
The hosts discuss Bashel Tootin’s potential amidst Jacksonville’s evolving backfield:
“With Mutes in, then we think there is a chance he takes over some of the passing work, which will hurt ETN, but also gives the path for fantasy goodness.” (12:37)
Mike emphasizes Tootin’s explosive speed and opportunity:
“He is in a position where things could change rapidly for him. I think worth taking in the second round.” (10:51)
Derek Henry’s Contract Extension
A significant highlight is the news of Derek Henry securing a two-year contract extension with Baltimore:
“Derek Henry signed a two-year contract extension. Seems he will average more than 15.” (15:42)
Andy elaborates on Henry’s rarity as an aging running back:
“He is a one of one. You don’t bet against this guy.” (16:11)
Jameson Williams’ Breakout Potential
The hosts touch on the anticipated breakout year for Jameson Williams, backed by the Lions’ offensive coordinator John Morton:
“John Morton is calling for a breakout year for Jameson Williams.” (17:23)
Tesla – A Wildcard Wide Receiver
Andy and Mike discuss the enigmatic wide receiver Tesla, debating his potential and consistency:
“Draft him with the last pick in the third round of your rookie drafts and let him sit there and see what happens.” (19:00)
1. Differentiating Between Similar Wide Receivers (22:39)
Listener Mikey from Manhattan asked:
“How do you differentiate between prospects that are similarly slotted in ADP? Looking at guys like Higgins, Jack Besh, Kyle Williams.” (22:39)
Andy breaks down the evaluation process:
“Think what did I think of the prospect? Did I hate one of them and love one of them?” (23:06)
He emphasizes the importance of opportunity and landing spots:
“Jaden Higgins projects to be a day one full-time wide receiver.” (24:42)
2. Common Pitfalls in Dynasty Leagues (27:48)
Andy warns against extremes in team building:
“Swinging the pendulum too far because it’s a dynasty league... you need to have veterans and youth.” (27:48)
Mike adds:
“People put themselves in a box because they want a specific player instead of valuing the type of player needed.” (29:35)
3. Trading for Elite Players Like Jamar Chase (32:01)
Listener questions about trading for top-tier receivers are addressed with Mike and Andy highlighting the difficulty:
“You can’t trade for Jamar Chase. It would require an overwhelming offer.” (32:10)
They agree that Chase should be considered untouchable unless offered an extraordinary package.
4. Tyler Hill vs. Kyron Williams (42:50)
A debate ensues over trading Tyreek Hill for Kyron Williams and a future pick:
“There is a lot. ... Kyron Williams is preferable due to his age and potential.” (43:02)
Andy supports Kyron Williams, emphasizing his growing role and potential contract stability:
“I believe in Kyron Williams 100%.” (43:29)
Jaden Reed Trade
Andy and Mike discuss their recent trade involving Jaden Reed:
“Jaden Reed was supposed to take that second-year wide receiver leap forward and be awesome... but he ended up with 54 receptions for 763 yards and five touchdowns.” (41:45)
Mike reflects on the inconsistency:
“He is a best ball type of guy. You want his good games, but you don’t want the destructive bad games.” (42:24)
The hosts conclude that trading Jaden Reed for more reliable options like Tyree Kill can mitigate the risk of volatility in performance.
TJ Hawkinson Evaluation
A listener inquires about managing tight end choices:
“What do I do with TJ Hawkinson? He turns 28 in July...” (56:00)
Andy advises holding onto Hawkinson for reliability:
“I would keep him. He is a reliable person to fill your tight end spot.” (56:21)
Mike contrasts with options like Sam Laporta, who offers higher upside but less consistency:
“I’d take the Lamar plan one because I want spike weeks out of my tight end.” (57:44)
The hosts wrap up by reiterating the importance of balance in dynasty rosters, blending veterans with promising rookies to ensure both immediate performance and long-term success. They encourage listeners to utilize resources like the Ultimate Draft Kit and stay engaged with ongoing dynasty week activities.
Mike concludes with a promotional reminder:
“Ultimate Draft Kit dot com. 17 days until that bad boy is unleashed upon the general public.” (61:46)
Andy adds final giveaways and community engagement prompts, ensuring listeners are well-equipped for their dynasty leagues.
