Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast coming to you from the Play Draft Studios with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright.
Andy Holloway
Hey, everybody, Happy holidays. Welcome in sure the world out there is taking the day off, but we're not. We're actually doing two shows today.
Mike Wright
Never, never, never a day off.
Andy Holloway
He does not labor. If it's the labor of love. Is that the. That's the thing.
Jason Moore
I still feel like it's a lot of labor here. A lot of labor. We had our league of record draft last night and I'm exhausted right now.
Andy Holloway
Look, we love raising canes. If you saw our Twitter account, you saw the spread and there were a lot of jealous folks. I never believe that you can eat too much raising canes, but we certainly tried.
Jason Moore
We tested that theory last night.
Mike Wright
Eight chicken fingers, ladies and gentlemen.
Andy Holloway
You won the contest.
Jason Moore
Eight.
Andy Holloway
That is something like what two full orders of like you ate for two.
Mike Wright
It's a. Don't worry about it. Mind your business.
Jason Moore
I had five of the little loaves of bread loafs.
Andy Holloway
Five loaves.
Jason Moore
Sounds about right.
Andy Holloway
We got a lot going on on the show today. Hopefully you are well, a lot of you are post draft now and we are getting ready to debut some week one content here this week. Tonight we have the live show in Phoenix. We're going to be going through bold predictions today on the show. We're going to be talking about our raising canes rising stars. We're going to get into a ton of the news. A lot of cuts, a lot of signings, a lot of different depth chart moves. Talk about Andrew luck a little bit and then we're going to go through some good vibes, bad vibes, division by division, kind of break down, just kind of how things are trending right as we come up to the regular season. So it's going to be a really, really Good show. I'm excited. And if you want to come to the live show tonight, there's still time. You just go to ballerslive.com or you can come to the Crescent Ballroom here in Phoenix.
Jason Moore
You just show up at the door.
Andy Holloway
So it's going to be gonna be a lot of fun. What else is going on, guys?
Mike Wright
Lots and lots of news, really. I mean, unless we have anything else important to talk about here, we need to get into these news and these rising stars.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you can follow us on twitterffballers, follow our community over@jointhefoot.com we're on Facebook, we're on iTunes. We're on YouTube. We're everywhere. Let's kick it off with some rising stars.
Jason Moore
Raising canes. Rising stars of the.
Andy Holloway
I just spilled a little bit.
Jason Moore
Yeah, right on yourself. You can go to YouTube.com the fantasy footballers to see Andy's mistake.
Andy Holloway
I feel like people probably would like us to muse a little bit on. You see that right there?
Mike Wright
Oh yeah. It's an exclamation point.
Andy Holloway
It's nice. Right to my draft. I think people would want us to kind of wax poetic on our league of record draft a little bit because everybody on Twitter was just like, oh, show us your team, tell us what you're doing. How do you feel the draft went?
Mike Wright
The draft I think for my team went pretty, pretty much as close to as good as it could have gone. I was in a really bad situation where I had sold my first and second pick to go all in last season. So I would say the highlights or I guess the lowlight of the draft is I'm in round three of a three keeper league.
Jason Moore
So round six.
Mike Wright
I had a dream, man. I had a dream. Markavis Devonte, Parker, Michael Crabtree were all just one tick at a time getting close to my spot. And then I believe like literally the three picks in front of me, all those guys wins.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I think we all have those moments. There was a period where Brooks, who is my co owner and myself are sitting there. We just have these three guys and we're four picks away that we really want. And it was Corey Coleman and John Brown and maybe it was. That might have been the Carson Palmer time as well.
Andy Holloway
And Samajp Ryan.
Jason Moore
Oh no, it was Samaj. And all of them went. You know, it's one of those things.
Mike Wright
Where we're just complaining a lot.
Jason Moore
Yeah. But I mean that's fine. Once you come up on the board, you pick the best player.
Andy Holloway
This is where I just say, man, I got Michael Crabtree and Samaji P. Ride.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I think the draft went as well as it could have gone for having a bad situation. People don't realize, like every year, Andy, you. For now, like five years, every year you come into this draft where you have basically no first or second round and you're in a bad position and we just scratch and claw our way back to the top.
Andy Holloway
I especially enjoyed every time something went south for Mike in the draft, he would be playing the theme from Revenant. So you just hear these swells of depression. And then if a pick went the right way, he had music ready for that too.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
The theme of the night actually kind of turned into Back in Black. I was not planning it to go that way, but you got to let.
Jason Moore
It come to you.
Mike Wright
You gotta let it come to you.
Andy Holloway
All right. Hey. Raising Canes rising stars of the week. I'm just gonna keep pushing forward with Ty Montgomery, running back for the Green Bay Packers. Somebody that I dreamed could somehow I could trade up and find a way to get him in this draft. I just couldn't do it. He went to my brother in law and I'm telling you, I love Ty Montgomery. The difference between Montgomery and Jamal Williams to me is vast. Not only in knowledge of the offense, but in pass catching. What Montgomery looks like he did with his body, getting ready to be a running back, not a wide receiver this year and being on one of the best offenses in football. I think Ty Montgomery is a sneaky top 10 type of guy if things go the right way. So he is my raising Canes rising star of the week this week.
Jason Moore
My rising star after all the cuts and signings has to be Brad Kaya. He was cut from the Lions and signed by the Panthers, so now he is their best quarterback. Am I right? Sorry to troll all you Panthers fans out there.
Andy Holloway
You're so wrong.
Jason Moore
No, but no, my actual.
Mike Wright
How dare you disrespect Derek Anderson.
Jason Moore
Thank you. Thank you, Mike. My actual rising star is going to be the Los Angeles Rams defense. We said this a couple weeks ago, but if Andrew Luck is officially not playing, then Scott Tolzine is not going to get the job done.
Andy Holloway
Welcome to the Scott Tolzine experience.
Jason Moore
And you know, if you. You can draft the Los Angeles Rams, who have a pretty good defense.
Andy Holloway
I have to take the Rams last night with the intention of basically just leaning into the lack of Andrew Luck, like I have luck on my roster.
Mike Wright
You're taking it out. You're taking Andrew Luck's absence out. Yeah, by you're therapeutically playing the Rams.
Andy Holloway
I'm playing the Rams against that offense.
Mike Wright
Okay, I'll jump in.
Andy Holloway
Rams defense is great. Week one.
Mike Wright
My, my rising star is Corey Coleman. I love and really, I mean, I have some good vibes going with just the whole entire Brown situation. It's, it's not going to be all roses this year, but they're making moves. We'll talk about Sammy Coates's addition to this offense, but Corey Coleman and Deshaun Kaiser, there's going to be growing pains, but I think that this duo can turn into one of the better pairings for fantasy football. So I'm very excited for what the future holds for a quarter.
Andy Holloway
You're drafting Coleman ahead of Britt like last night. If they were both on the board, would you have taken Coleman ahead of Brett?
Mike Wright
I think at this point I would have. I still like Kenny Brett. I think he's safe. But I the upside with Coleman now actually exists where I didn't buy into it. Right, Kessler?
Jason Moore
Yeah, I would definitely take Coleman ahead of Britt because if you look at both those guys, one of them I think has a ceiling to show that he is like a top 10 type of player. Kenny Brett could never do that at this point in his career.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I think almost in any format. I would take Coleman over Britt at this point because of how late they go and what you want from that bench spot in week one or two. If you were in a really deep league and you needed a safe, a safer player, maybe you go Brit. But all right, those are the Raising Canes rising stars of the week. Remember game day and hey, draft day. Yeah. Tastes better with Raising Canes tailgates full of fresh 24 hour marinated hand battered chicken fingers and fresh brewed sweet teeth. Visit raising canes.com to find your nearest location. Let's get into the big old news.
Jason Moore
News and notes from around the league.
Andy Holloway
Mike, you want to take that first one?
Mike Wright
I have a have an announcement still, my brother. It's not breaking news. Otherwise I would have been going absolutely insane. I've had time to to come back to earth off of my cloud ride. I felt like Goku just zooming through the sky on a cloud. Martavis Bryant is officially back. The concerns are put to rest of spending that draft pick on a potentially suspended player. Martavis is going to be incredible this year. All offseason reports are just talking about what he has done and it was. I saw this quote of someone was asking, you know, a Steelers defensive coach about Mark Davis Bryant. They're like, oh, what the guy you can't guard? Martevis Bryant book. It's going to be amazing.
Jason Moore
Yeah, the vibes in Pittsburgh are very good. Le'Veon Bell also signed. He is tender.
Mike Wright
Officially his chicken tender.
Andy Holloway
Jason signed that Martavis to go back. I tried to trade up to get him yesterday. We just had a Judge Giamatti ruling on a Martavis Bryant ranking.
Mike Wright
Do we get an appeal?
Andy Holloway
Does it change anything at all, Jason, now that he has officially been reinstated, the formality.
Jason Moore
Of course it does. It changes a little bit of the worry. And so he was almost my rising star that I was considering, but Brad Kaya was too good.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, that joke. That joke wasn't very good.
Mike Wright
I enjoyed it.
Jason Moore
It does change it. But it. But built into my argument was still the fact that in week three, in week five, in week seven, news could change. I mean, he's got to stick to a regiment of counseling and things like that.
Andy Holloway
You all right there, buddy?
Jason Moore
I'm losing my voice, but, you know.
Andy Holloway
Did you sign another chicken tender?
Jason Moore
Ye. I'm just sneaking them up from under the table here. I got a whole tray. You know, I could see things go south midseason.
Andy Holloway
All right, all right. New Orleans news out of New Orleans. Willie Snead was suspended three games for violating the substance abuse policy. You know, things make sense now. We wondered why Willie Snead was playing in the later preseason, you know, week four, why he hadn't played a lot in the first three games. Maybe why Ted Ginn had been getting so much work. Now we know why Willie Snead missing the first three weeks. This affected not only his draft position to me, but just the long term prognosis for Willie Snead. You don't have those first three weeks. The offense is going to be the offense. So I. It's not good.
Jason Moore
Let me ask a question. This one is for a friend. Asking for a friend here.
Mike Wright
Very nice.
Jason Moore
The first three weeks with no Willie Snead and you know, Drew Brees's past where, you know, home road splits and that. Would you be worried about opening the season with Drew Brees as your start of those first three weeks? Week one.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Give me the opponents.
Jason Moore
Week one is on the road against the Vikings. Good defense on the road. Then he comes home. No Willie Snead against the Patriots and then he goes on the road against the Panthers.
Andy Holloway
It's interesting, I know you said you were thinking about.
Jason Moore
I was looking at Palmer because his first four weeks are, you know, just an excellent run.
Mike Wright
I'm still playing him. It's not the best looking schedule, but he's still Drew Brees and J.J. zachary, some good friend of the show. He had pointed out, you know, when the suspension hit last year, Willis need missed week three. In that game, someone put up seven for 109 and a touchdown. Was it Kobe Fleener?
Jason Moore
Yeah, just my boy.
Mike Wright
Just saying. I'm not saying, but I'm just saying.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I saw that. I. Whatever.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I mean it's, it's. The ball has to go somewhere and I don't think this is necessarily a bump for. For Ted Ginn, my boy Ted Ginn, because it's, it's a different. I thought it was gonna get his regardless.
Andy Holloway
I thought it was pretty funny that Eddie Lacy and Adrian Peterson faced their former teams in Week one. Both of them good work and if face their former squads. All right. Andrew Luck is no longer Andrew pup, but he has been ruled out for week one. So he's not on the PUP list anymore.
Jason Moore
So you can I guess, like a compliment sandwich here.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you can feel better that he's not ruled out for the first five weeks, six weeks of the season, but he's not going to play Week 1. Scott Tolzine will start Week 1. The Colts acquired Jacoby Brissette after he lit up the Giants in the final preseason game and they traded Philip Dorsett, former first rounder, over to the Patriots.
Mike Wright
Any interest in Dorsett?
Andy Holloway
No, no. But it's just another one of those things that the Patriots are doing something smart here.
Jason Moore
I think one thing that that does highlight is as the season goes on and Andrew Luck gets back, Kamar Aiken becomes possibly relevant.
Andy Holloway
It also tells me that they do want to limit the reps for Danny Amadola because if you have Philip Dorsett that you can throw out wide to go deep and play that Hogan role on the outside, Hogan can keep coming inside and spell amendola on the in the slot. You saw this a little bit when Edelman went down in that week three game. You saw Hogan come into the slot. I think it actually raises a little bit of the value for Hogan in general to me because I think you're going to have him in a higher total catches role in New England. Colts have placed Eric Swoop on injured reserve with a knee injury. So it's the Doyle show.
Mike Wright
Jack Doyle.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, we all like Doyle, but that's a. You know, it certainly helps because last year you saw the split between Allen and Doyle. Now it's just kind of Doyle's role But again, you need luck to come back. Hey, guess what? Joe Flacco's back. Return to practice on Saturday. We'll talk a little bit about that offense in a little bit. Here's a shocker.
Jason Moore
Shocking.
Andy Holloway
Does anybody.
Jason Moore
It's just like emphasis for you. I was a cheerleader in the background.
Andy Holloway
Anybody know why this happened? Bills have waived Jonathan Williams. The Twitter he was going to be the number two.
Mike Wright
Lost its mind.
Jason Moore
I lost my mind. I've got a lot of stock in Jonathan Williams. He looked great in preseason. He wasn't costing them a lot of money. What the heck? Buffalo.
Mike Wright
It's incredibly bizarre. I've seen.
Andy Holloway
I mean, you know, Tolbert's the backup now.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Are you talking to Buffalo? That's what you should, you should be like, you know, Tolbert's the backup now.
Mike Wright
Right.
Andy Holloway
Just telling Buffalo that, like, wait, wait.
Jason Moore
Not aware. Wait.
Andy Holloway
We don't have Carlos Williams.
Mike Wright
It's either a incoming like seven rushing touchdowns for Mike Tolbert or maybe we cross our fingers and everything goes to shady. Everything. Come on.
Andy Holloway
If everything goes to shady, watch out. Yes, just watch out. Tyra Taylor up in the air with a concussion for week one.
Mike Wright
I don't think he's going to play.
Andy Holloway
No, I don't either. And they're going to start a fifth round rookie instead, so.
Jason Moore
Hey, looked good.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Jordan Matthews still has not been fully cleared. He's on my bad vibes list. You mix a rookie with a new team and a bad offense, there's just, there's not a lot of upside there to me. Matt Jones released by the Redskins, claimed by the Colts.
Jason Moore
This is one of those things where I think, you know, I'm not drafting Matt Jones, but now I'm not drafting Robert Turbin.
Mike Wright
Really? That far?
Jason Moore
You know, Robert Turbin was a guy where in many drafts, when I'm late and he's on the board, I wasn't drafting anyways. Depending on roster construction, he was, you know, he was borderline draftable. But now it's like, okay, well if, if he comes in and Matt Jones is splitting with the, you know, that role, how valuable is the.
Andy Holloway
Is the backup all right? Yeah. You know, I don't know if I want any of them, so that's fair. Mike Williams back from the pup.
Mike Wright
Yeah, this was a shock.
Andy Holloway
Not to me. Not. I've been drafting him, I've been telling people he's valuable. He can still come back and have. Look, we've seen so many rookie wide receivers miss front halves of the year and be very valuable in the second half. And Philip Rivers, he's got what, three or four straight 4,029 plus seasons. So I still think there's room there. I think there's room for a breakout for Mike Williams in the second half of the year. And he's free.
Mike Wright
So, yeah, I mean, there's room, but I don't get how you're completely off of Jordan Matthews, who will be back soon, but Mike Williams, who's coming off of a back injury, had absolutely no training camp. How are you so gung ho for Mike Williams?
Andy Holloway
Because he was a top 10 pick and he's got, you know, we've seen Jordan Matthews and he's going to one of the worst offenses and offensive situations in the league, whereas Mike Williams is going to one of the better offensive situations in the league and he's young and unproven versus Jordan Matthews being injury prone in his career.
Jason Moore
I would just like to say as a spectator, Mike, that was a great question. Andy, better response. If I was Judge Giamatti, Andy would win this round.
Andy Holloway
All right, well, Brandon Oliver's good, quote.
Mike Wright
Jordan Matthews stats, but we'll move on.
Andy Holloway
No, yeah, I mean, move on. All right, Brandon Oliver. James Conner locked in as the handcuffs to their respective lead backs there, Melvin Gordon and Lev Bell. The James Conner news is very interesting because Toussaint, Nile Davis and Trey Williams were all cut. They basically said, hey, look, James Conner, we trust you enough to, to put you in a position. You took him yesterday, right, Jason?
Jason Moore
Yeah, I took him in the draft. I mean, I had said last week after Niall Davis had this great game that, you know, it appears there is officially no handcuff. And the Steelers are like, no, we want a handcuff, we need a handcuff. So they got rid of every other backup. They did resign Fitzgerald, Toussaint to the practice squad. But the fact that they would let him go, be resigned and put him on the practice squad says they're confident in James Conner.
Andy Holloway
And look, if you, if you've just drafted and you know you're going to be playing waivers in week one, which everybody will be. Here's what I don't like. I don't like drafting Willie Snead because he doesn't go on your IR or your or the out position. He sits on your bench and gives you no production and then you're stuck with him for three weeks. Whereas drafting a guy like James Conner. Okay, maybe you want to cut him in week two, that's fine.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
But in week one, if something happened, if something happened, he's the back. You know, we've seen what D'Angelo Williams did. @ least there's a chance there that he has massive value if something happens. So Sammy Coates is no longer a Pittsburgh Steeler. He was acquired by the Browns essentially mostly free. I mean, they didn't have room for him. They didn't want to use him. Juju's there, Eli's there and Martavius is back.
Mike Wright
Say Justin Hunter beat out Sammy Coates. And when I had mentioned Coats earlier, I wasn't saying I'm really excited for the fantasy implications of Sammy Coates. It's just for that team having another. You have a Tory Smith now you have a guy who can, who can burn everybody. And that gets Corey Coleman can help the coverage for him, can help out Kenny Britt. So that, that's what I was talking about. And as well, I'll jump ahead a little bit in the news, but Cassan Williams getting picked up by the Browns as well because he was released by the Seahawks. I mean, they have, they have an actual wide receiver core now in Cleveland and it's, it's exciting to see what they can do in the future.
Andy Holloway
Here's a situation I want to keep my eyes on. Personally. I don't want to send up a bunch of warning lights for Lamar Miller. We all are not like, I don't think any of us are like waving the flag for Lamar Miller, but we understand his value. Alfred Blue is going to miss several weeks now. Deonta Foreman is listed directly behind Lamar Miller now in the rotation. I'm just curious to see what the first three or four weeks looks like, how the split is between Lamar Miller and Foreman. Foreman, somebody who I think could take a big chunk of the carries if the, if the year starts a certain way. He's kind of like, you know, you look at the James Conner situation, I think Deontay Foreman and what they want to do on that offense is just somebody to pay attention to. I thought about drafting him late last night. He did get drafted.
Mike Wright
I think he's just probably a better pick than Connor because Foreman could be a goal line back right away. We don't know.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, and there's a lot of excitement about Foreman from that. From Houston fans for whatever reason. So just something to pay attention to.
Jason Moore
Well, he went, he played college in Texas and so I think that's part of, part of the excitement. And he was, he was amazing. I thought in college. He was my favorite. He was my favorite running back coming out of college when it came to just you know, not. None of the huge names. He was the guy I really loved. So, yeah, keep, keep him on the radar.
Mike Wright
Hey, before we move into the rest of the news, the rest of the story want to thank today's sponsor, MVMT Watches. That's Movement watches. Andy Holloway
Whoo.

Andy Holloway
All right, he's back. He's back in the mile high city. Brock Osweiler, signed by the two Broncos. Do I have.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I mean, like that.
Jason Moore
Really? It Fits here.
Mike Wright
Brock Osweiler is back in Denver. What is.
Andy Holloway
Well, look, Paxton lynch is going to. Lynch is out five weeks.
Jason Moore
John Elway saved a bunch of money. I mean he was a. They wanted to sign him. They tried to sign him and. And he left for the Houston Texans. This is actually, I think a somewhat good move by the Broncos. They.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Depth.
Jason Moore
Yeah, they get a backup that knows the system and did succeed. I mean, in this system with these wide receivers, might as well sign him for cheap, I believe. Aren't the Browns still paying part of his salary?
Mike Wright
They're paying almost the entire thing.
Jason Moore
That's great. I would do it.
Andy Holloway
A couple other quick notes. Jake Butt on the reserve and if I listen. Carlos Henderson on injured reserve. Will tie was released by the Giants, claimed by the Jets.
Mike Wright
We have the.
Andy Holloway
On.
Mike Wright
What's that?
Andy Holloway
He wasn't on the Giants, was he? Yeah, wasn't Will Ty on. Who am I thinking of? Oh, I'm thinking of Danelle.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
On Baltimore.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Mike Wright
You bypassed the 49ers news as well. The rookie, the off season sensation Joe Williams has been put on injured reserve with an ankle injury.
Jason Moore
Goodbye.
Mike Wright
And this.
Andy Holloway
I just. Matt Breida is Berida. No, it's Brita. Is it Brita? It's Breida. Yeah.
Mike Wright
It's like a.
Andy Holloway
It's like a cheetah.
Mike Wright
It's like a.
Andy Holloway
It is.
Mike Wright
Okay. Okay.
Andy Holloway
I promise. It's Brida. It's Frida.
Mike Wright
I stand correctly.
Andy Holloway
But he is the. He's the guy in the backfield now behind Carlos High.
Mike Wright
I have him in a couple places because despite my love of believe and love for Carlos Hyde, he's never finished a season. And the starting running back will have some value for San Francisco. And I was going to say I just, just complimented lynch on his rookie GM year. They have released Jeremy Curley who they signed earlier in this off season to an extension. I mean that's. That's a mismatch. That's mismanagement right there.
Andy Holloway
Well, is there any other pieces of news that you think have to be out there? Because I want to move on to good vibes, bad vibes.
Mike Wright
I want to talk about. Jeremy Langford was released.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, that's fair.
Mike Wright
By the Bears. Kadeem carries on IR Tariq Cohen time, baby.
Jason Moore
And Jordan Howard. Yeah, I think it's good for both.
Mike Wright
We all know it's Jordan Howard time, but just saying. Cohen. Cohen now has a clear path to be involved in this offense.
Jason Moore
The only other piece of news I would mention because a lot of times kickers get Completely left off. And you might have even drafted Josh Lambeau. And you don't realize he is not a kicker anymore for the Chargers. Young Hoku, which if you. If you want a good time, go watch his highlights. Highlights? Yeah, he's doing like ninja move backflip kick field goals. I haven't seen that before. It was pretty good.
Andy Holloway
Robert Aguayo is released. Waved.
Mike Wright
Is that news? Roberto.
Jason Moore
Calling your name, Roberto.
Andy Holloway
That stinks. Oh, and talk about a bad start to your career for Jeremy McNichols. Oh, yeah, you know, released by the Bucks, signed to the practice squad of the 49ers. But this is a guy that fell in the draft due to his shoulder, then gets drafted in, what, the fourth round?
Mike Wright
I think it was the fourth round.
Andy Holloway
Fourth or fifth round, and just bombs the preseason and gets cut by. The Buccaneers are making a habit now of drafting players in the first five rounds and then just throwing them away.
Mike Wright
Yeah, that's a really good point. That's not the. It's not the best way to build football team.
Andy Holloway
That's a good strategy. No. All right, let's talk good vibes, bad vibes. Some good vibrations here. Let's start in the AFC East. Wow. We went different ways, two different directions.
Mike Wright
How was the background, man?
Jason Moore
Oh, really?
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
I thought you were a ghost.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, it sounded more like a ghost.
Mike Wright
Listen to the song. All right, there's a ghost.
Andy Holloway
There's our drop for that segment. Thanks, guys.
Jason Moore
You're welcome.
Andy Holloway
Nailed it. All right, we're going to just quickly go through some good vibes, bad vibes. I broke these up by division. Okay, so in the AFC east, here's what I got. Bad vibes, Tyrod Taylor and Jordan Matthews.
Mike Wright
I'll completely agree with the Tyrod Taylor, the concussion, the seeming like they don't want him around. It's getting rid of all of his passing weapons that he's really not nice. Just like, what are they. What are they doing? Well, I mean, I guess I know what they're doing. They're setting them up to fail.
Andy Holloway
They'd rather see that's trash Peterman, wouldn't they?
Jason Moore
Yes.
Mike Wright
Yes, clearly they would.
Jason Moore
They want Peterman in there. And look, I am a Jordan Mathers. Jordan Math. Well, I want to say a truther. So it went to that. But Jordan Matthews, I'm a believer. I'm a truther, but I do actually side with you here. The vibes aren't good. You can't say the vibes are good for him. When he gets traded to a bad team where the Quarterback is injured and. Oh, you're injured.
Andy Holloway
That just, he's probably going to miss week one.
Jason Moore
Yeah, it's just terrible vibes for both of those guys. I think the Bills in general are horrible vibes. With one exception, which we touched on earlier.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, good vibes for Lashawn McCoy and Devontae Parker in this division. Those are the two names that I threw out there.
Mike Wright
So are you are buying the good vibes for Shady? Despite everything, everything around him is a disaster.
Jason Moore
So I'm a little cautious that if, if, if an opportunity comes up in the year to trade LaShawn McCoy because some other team goes, you know, has someone go down.
Andy Holloway
That's true.
Jason Moore
I wouldn't be shocked if the Bills pull the trigger on that. That being said, he would probably be going to a good team. And so I, I, I'm, I'm fine with Shady right now. And I, I mean, devonte Parker, the three of us, I think, are just skyrocketing on his value. I haven't seen a draft in the last few weeks where he does not go. He is always ahead of Landry. Landry.
Andy Holloway
So I was on the clock yesterday or approaching my pick and talking to my co owner and we were debating the merits of like, I wanted Tyree Kill and I wanted Michael Crabtree, but he just, like he, he wanted devontae Parker more than Tyreek Hill. What do you think of that?
Mike Wright
I don't, I don't dislike it. I mean, devonte Parker, the boom is there.
Jason Moore
Where.
Mike Wright
I mean, look, I guess the boom is technically there for Tyree Kill, but it's, I don't, it's not like it's.
Andy Holloway
Not the big boy boom.
Mike Wright
Yeah. It's not the big guy 12. Or I should say it's not, it's not eight plus touchdowns.
Jason Moore
I think I'm wrong.
Andy Holloway
Well, I'm glad you do because I drafted Tyreek Hill. All right. AFC West. Good vibes. Bad vibes. On the good vibes side, I've got Jamal Charles on there. We can talk about that. I've also got Keenan Allen and Mike Williams because of the surprise activation. Keenan Allen looking so good in the preseason, but Jamal Charles not only making the 53, but what I saw on tape and the fact that I believe that there's going to be a split of usage in this backfield. Now, what do you think?
Mike Wright
There's, I would agree that it's in the realm of possibility. I still see C.J. anderson as the clear starter for this. Jamal Charles is not the Jamal Charles you remember. From two years ago, but he's still going to be a fine player. But they came out and they said, I mean, before he made the team, like we're going to try and get him to 8 to 10 touches a game and that's still fine. If you're talking C.J. anderson's volume, yeah, I would say it's.
Jason Moore
Good, Good vibes for him from the standpoint of. For him as a man. I mean, I'm really happy for him. He made the team. He's got a chance to prove it. He took a prove it deal. You know, nothing was guaranteed for him. For fantasy. I don't. I don't think he'll have enough work to have good vibes where, you know, I personally, I'm not drafting. I think he definitely hurts CJ Anderson. Even though he's the clear starter. If they are getting him 8, 10 touches, I think they're going to give Jamal Charles just enough touches to not be relevant, but hurt CJ Anderson.
Andy Holloway
I look at it a lot like the Lacey Rawls situation where if one player goes down in a group of injury prone players, right, Like Charles, Anderson, Lacy and Rawls are all injury concerns. If the backfield becomes clear for either guy, it could be very good. Like if C.J. anderson, who has been injured frequently, if he goes down, Jamal Charles is a startable running back.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he definitely would be a startable running back in that situation. I just worry that. Can he handle it? Can he?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, for sure. All right. AFC North. Good vibes, Bad vibes. Good vibes. I have one debatable topic. We can bring it up first. I'll say Corey Coleman. So I agree with Mike on that one. Also James Conner, right, the clear backup role in Pittsburgh. I think good vibes for the Ravens offense. Jason literally has a note on our show, Doc, that says this has to be the wrong place. Right. And he highlighted it in red. So we have some disagreement. For me, I think everybody's been just kind of like glossing over anybody on the Ravens offense with Joe Flacco out and just not even looking at them. I mean, Jeremy Mackin last night dropped way down in the draft and I was ecstatic. So I'm happy. Look, we talked about this before. You know, Flacco has produced fantasy relevant wide receivers, but Jason, you lean on the bad vibe side. So this is a split decision.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I mean, look, is it, is it good to have Joe Flacco back? Absolutely. That's. That's a. That is one little good vibe in a sea of bad Vibes. I think the Ravens offense has just been non stop bad vibes. You lose your, you know, number one pass catcher, you're tight end, you lose some wide receivers, you lose some running backs, you basically they have just been depleted of most of their talent. And yeah, Joe Flacco is back, but he's back, you know, today for the first time having had no preseason, no training camp, none of that.
Andy Holloway
And so I, Andrew Luck is like lucky.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I still see a situation where the vibes are very bad and I don't like the Ravens offense right now. I mean, when I look at this division, the number one thing that pops out to me is for good vibes. Bad vibes is, oh, just the Ravens offense. Bad vibes all the way around.
Mike Wright
Did you know that Joe Flacco in his career has one losing season?
Jason Moore
I'm not, I'm not surprised at that. I think it's a well run organization.
Mike Wright
I think he's fine.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I mean so were we talking fantasy football or are we talking real football?
Mike Wright
No, we're talking real football which and will lead to. I'm saying Joe Flacco, I think he's perfectly fine to have missed training camp. There'll be some rust at the beginning of the season, but long term it's good vibes leave.
Andy Holloway
They take on The Bengals Week 1.
Jason Moore
When Andrew Luck comes back, he's going to be throwing to Ty Hilton, who he's used to playing with Dante Moncrief who he's used to playing with. Doyle, who he played with last year. When Joe Flacco gets back all of his weapons that he threw to last year, I feel like are gone. Is Bershad Perryman, is he on the field right now?
Mike Wright
Joe Flacco's been taking those mental reps, man.
Jason Moore
Sure he's been taking those mental reps, but you know, Steve Smith is gone, Dennis Pitta is gone, Kenneth Dixon is gone. It's just he's going to come back.
Mike Wright
Sounds like a lot of Jeremy Macklin targets coming up.
Jason Moore
I hope so. I have a lot of Jeremy Macklin from just how far he has been fallen in different drafts.
Andy Holloway
It rhymes with Doyle. Nick Boyle, is he worth paying attention to? He's the like lead dog in the tight end world for a team with what Jason said, a depleting amount of weapons. So someone to pay attention to at least.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Waivers.
Mike Wright
Week one waivers.
Andy Holloway
Bad vibes. Jesse James with the trade for Vance McDonald. If you JV.
Mike Wright
JV Jesse James.
Andy Holloway
JV Jesse James.
Mike Wright
That's.
Andy Holloway
That's mean. AFC South.
Mike Wright
I didn't coin it.
Andy Holloway
AFC south, good vibes, bad vibes. We got to throw the good vibes out there for J.J. watt. He's raised all that incredible, just an incredible amount of money for the people in Houston. That thing took off. I remember when he first put that up there, he was like hoping for like a million dollars, two million dollars.
Jason Moore
I think it's over 15 last I saw.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. So JGY gets the non fantasy related good vibes. The bad vibes are all about the Colts right now. The Colts offense and Andrew Luck have the bad vibes. And I am a. I'm somebody who's been telling people, go grab Andrew Luck late. And I still think it's going to pay off for you. But do what I did, grab Carson Palmer, who has a great first four weeks. Grab somebody.
Mike Wright
He's probably on your waiver wire too.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And just he's the stop gap for Andrew Luck. I think Luck will miss probably, I'd say two games, hopefully. And then he can roll back in.
Jason Moore
Hopefully.
Andy Holloway
What else we got? Good vibes. Jason, you like Marcus Mariota?
Jason Moore
Yeah. I mean, I think he gets off to a good start with Oakland. And the vibes to me are you've got Corey Davis who they're saying is going to be ready week one. Tayuan Taylor's look great. Eric Decker should be back. Shard Matthews. I think the vibes are good there.
Andy Holloway
NFC east, good vibes, bad vibes. Let's go Robert Kelly on the good vibes. Things have been trending the right direction for Robert Kelly. Good preseason. I'm going to throw Ezekiel Elliott in there. Because you are. I am. Because you look, you have to compare the off season to now. I took Ezekiel elliott at number 11 in our listener league draft on Friday, which is a first round pick and things are trending towards him playing more than we thought he was going to play in the middle of the off season. So I have to throw him in there and then Evan Ingram is a great name because you, Mike, you've been talking about him in the preseason.
Mike Wright
He is nasty.
Andy Holloway
They may use him a lot.
Jason Moore
The fact that they let Will Ty go says to me that they are completely happy and confident in Evan Ingram. He right now has gone from the guy that I did not believe in during draft season to my number one rookie tight end.
Mike Wright
Very nice.
Jason Moore
I think he'll finish ahead of Njoku, ahead of Howard, ahead of everybody.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, it looks that way right now. Bad vibes, Paul Perkins and Legarett Blunt. Paul Perkins looks great.
Jason Moore
Clothes looked Better Paul Perkins or LeGarrett Blunt.
Mike Wright
Oh, Perkins by far, by far. Don't do that to Smash Jackson.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Bring him down to Lagarin Blunt level. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Shane Vereen, splitting reps.
Mike Wright
I'm not saying I want him on my fantasy team. I'm just saying when you're comparing him.
Jason Moore
To what Legarian has done last night in our league of record draft, the running backs are just depleted because it's a keeper. And you know, I think I had one pick in the top 40 when Brooks and I were on the clock late in the draft. We only had two running backs and no running backs are available. And we could have taken Paul Perkins and we just couldn't do it. He's the last running back that is the starting running back left on a team and we just went elsewhere because we. I don't believe that that offensive line is going to be good enough for him to succeed.
Andy Holloway
All right, NFC West. Good vibes. Russell Wilson. Russell.
Mike Wright
Russell Wilson.
Andy Holloway
I'm gonna throw Carlos Hyde in there. Gonna throw Brian Hoyer in there. Yeah, I'm gonna throw John Brown in there. Here's the contention on. Let me make the argument. If John Brown plays, he is so important to that offense. He would be arguably. Basically when he plays, I put him down as the wide receiver one on that team, on the Bruce Arians offense. So he played and played well at the end of the preseason. So right now we expect him to play.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I, I would say the vibes are better when he is on the field than when he is off the field. And so in that sense there are good vibes. Well, I'm just saying that's the only difference. The only thing that has been better for him is that he is. He is back on the field. If you want to say, okay, two for 49 and two touchdowns, that's great. But if you watch the game, he was thrown. He was thrown to only two times. One was in the, you know, back utter against back.
Mike Wright
It matters.
Jason Moore
I'm just saying he was not the first reader. He was not the second second read on those plays.
Andy Holloway
He was. And if you say that doesn't bother me at all. 1. One preseason game where you show you're healthy. That's what matters. We say don't watch the stat line. But he played. He doesn't need to be targeted the whole time he played last year he.
Jason Moore
Played 15 games, right?
Mike Wright
Yeah, he played 15 games for a great line of 517 yards and two touchdowns.
Andy Holloway
All right, we can disagree on that one. I think you Guys are missing the boat on John Brown.
Jason Moore
If he's healthy.
Andy Holloway
If he's healthy, he's a 20 guy.
Jason Moore
If he's healthy.
Mike Wright
But that's the, that's the thing we're arguing is he's, he was on the.
Andy Holloway
Field, looked healthy in this last game.
Mike Wright
He was on the field last year, but he was not healthy. So just because he's out there does not. A plus B does not equal health.
Andy Holloway
But it did the last time he got on the field.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Jason Moore
Yeah, we were just going to agree.
Andy Holloway
To Sammy Watkins bad vibes. Look, he moved from, I guess a bad situation in Buffalo to a much worse situation in Los Angeles where you just don't know the target share. You just don't know how much the offense is going to be able to move the ball. So I'd still put him on the. Nobody kind of wants to draft him. Even though he's super talented.
Jason Moore
He's dropped down to the sixth round in adp, which probably too low. Yeah, I mean, at that point in.
Mike Wright
The sixth round, would you go Allen Robinson or Sammy Watkins?
Andy Holloway
I'd go Alan Robinson only because Bortles is back.
Jason Moore
I think I would too.
Andy Holloway
And Watkins situation is similar to Hopkins situation where you know, they're super talented players, but Watkins has the built in injury risk as well. So you mix an injury with the bad situation, he belongs well below Hopkins to me. NFC North Good vibes, bad vibes. Here's the good vibes. Randall Cobb, Time Montgomery, Dalvin Cook, Amir Abdullah.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I don't disagree with any of this list. I mean there's, there's good vibe, especially man, Dalvin Cook. I'm very, very excited to see what, what he can do.
Andy Holloway
I'm gonna throw Adam Thielen in there moving into the slot. What I've seen this preseason and how he ended last year, like we got to remember, he ended last year with this rapport with Sam Bradford that was very impressive. We didn't know how that would translate this year. They've lost some of those wide receiver pieces. I think Thielen is. If he's not the one A, he's the one B with Diggs. So that to me is a bad vibe for Stefan Diggs if he's moved out of the slot more often. Bad vibes for the Bears wideouts in that division and their offense in general, outside of Jordan Howard and then Latavius Murray, doesn't seem to, it doesn't seem like he's going to have the carry count that we wanted or hoped for when he was signed. What do you guys think about any other NFC north candidates here?
Mike Wright
Well, I mean, it's neutral vibes for me on Stefan Diggs. I wouldn't go bad vibes at all. You move him to the outside. Yes, he did play the slot, but big plays on the outside, I mean, that's where Adam Thielen was so great last year. That's where he was getting his touchdown. So it's.
Jason Moore
I would.
Mike Wright
I'm not moving Stefan Diggs at all the Bears wideouts. Who, if anyone, are you guys putting the Kendall right. The pick on going Kendall right.
Jason Moore
I'm going Kendall right. For if I've got to pick one and you put that evil on me, I'll take Kendall right.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I don't want any of them NFC south good vibes, bad vibes. We'll go with Ted Ginn Jr. Yep.
Mike Wright
Yep.
Andy Holloway
Ted Ginn Jr. Should be the two. And Willie Snead is now suspended. Just giving him more time to build rapport with Drew Brees.
Jason Moore
Yes, certainly. I think Ted Ginn is. Is. Has good vibes. Carolina Panthers, all my jokes of Cam Newton aside, him being back is a good thing. And Christian McCaffrey. I have been the doubter when it comes to fantasy football production for where he's drafted on Christian McCaffrey. But you can't say anything but good, positive vibes when you look at what he's done in preseason. We touches the ball. Defenders can't touch him. He's just been amazing.
Andy Holloway
What do you think the carry split ends up being by year's end with.
Jason Moore
McCaffrey and Stewart by year's end, assuming health for both guys. I would go 60, 40.
Mike Wright
I was gonna go 60, 40. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Bad vibes. Willie Snead. We know what happened. I put a question mark here with Jameis Winston. There just wasn't. I did. Because this preseason has not been impressive to me. Making the same big mistakes, not seeing anything that makes me think this is going to be some outlandish, breakout superstar type of offense right now. I'm not putting. Look, he wasn't drafted last night in our league of record draft. I haven't seen a lot of positive kind of news. So I'm just. There's a question mark at the end because I'm asking you guys.
Jason Moore
It's been up and down. I mean, if you go watch week two of the preseason, that whole offense and Jameis just looked lights out, unbelievable, unstoppable. And then I think that was week two. And then the next game. When he threw that falling away interception, you know, when he was in the red zone, I just, I couldn't believe it. And what that, what that play did to me was say, okay, he, he just took about five passing attempts a game away from himself because the coach is not going to trust him.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I have a couple things I want to mention before we close today's show.
Mike Wright
I'm going to throw out one more good vibe, and this is a tip of the cap, Andy, because you were talking about this guy a couple weeks ago that we have. Everyone is, including myself. We had just written this guy off. But I've got, I've got some good vibe. I got that, you know, a little bit of that tingly. Charles Sims is on your waiver wire. I almost guarantee it. And I. This is one of those. You want to strike before the week one waiver wire hits. Charles Sims is going to end up being on pretty much everyone's waiver wire. Week one pickup.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that is, that is, that is not a bad thought at all, especially with them cutting their, their rookie pick. Yeah. That makes Charles Sims all the more valuable and one more that I'll throw out from. I meant to throw out in the NFC North. Marvin Jones has looked darn good in preseason. Everything is. All the, all the news has been Kenny Galladay. I know because I know Kenny Golladay. He's new and he didn't disappoint anybody last year. But I think Marvin Jones has a chance to really be good this year.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I also want to remind people, look, the regular season starts on Thursday. And if you were one of the people that with the ultimate draft kit, you also got the ultimate DFS pass. That content is hitting this week. We should have the majority of it up tomorrow and Wednesday. So, you know, we couldn't really put anything up until week one gets here, but we've been building that out. That's ultimate. DFSPass.com and a reminder that Mike, Ben Cummins, Chris Meaney, they're doing a once a week awesome fantasy footballers DFS podcast. You can look that up. It's a separate podcast on itunes.
Jason Moore
Drops every Friday.
Andy Holloway
Drops every Friday. It's great content. I believe that Ben Cummins exclusive article for the DFS pass they hit today. It was over 7,000 words.
Mike Wright
I don't doubt it.
Andy Holloway
That's not even a joke.
Jason Moore
No.
Andy Holloway
And he posted it and he's got it ready. And this guy lives and breathes dfs and he just said it's a beaut. That's what he said it's a beaut. So, again, a reminder about Sonos. Sonos, look, movies, sports, tv, TV shows, gaming, whatever you're doing. Look, they're Playbase. This thing's awesome. Jason just got this thing hooked up in his house. The sound is amazing. And look, its low profile design just disappears. It goes right under the tv. So it's a great solution for your house.
