Andy Holloway
Hey, Footland, before we get started, I want to tell you about a great new podcast called Outside the Box. If you're a maker, an innovator, or even just a consumer who wants a peek behind the curtain of some of the world's greatest organizations, you'll love it. The latest episode, which is available right now, features former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabu talking about the massive innovations, both on the field and off, that help football become America's most popular sport. He also talks about how the opportunities and challenges the league has faced are similar to to those faced by businesses of all types. Listen along on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers podcast coming to you from the Play Draft studios with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright.
Jason Moore
Welcome to the podcast once again.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you got stretch.
Jason Moore
Stretching out. Are you stretching?
Andy Holloway
No. No showtime injuries for me today.
Jason Moore
How? You're very flexible.
Andy Holloway
J I. You know, it's funny you say that because that's the biggest lie that has ever been said. I am confident that if there was a some kind of tournament, you better.
Mike Wright
Be careful over here because for the.
Andy Holloway
Least flexible person, I'm sure I'd take that.
Jason Moore
If you had like, you know, a month to get to the point where you could touch your toes standing up for a million dollars, could you get there?
Andy Holloway
No way on planet earth. If you're out there and you're a personal trainer, you're thinking, I could get them there. You, sir, are wrong.
Jason Moore
Or, madam, are you just missing, like, tendons that look should be there?
Andy Holloway
My. My hamstring, they're like.
Mike Wright
They're like bricks.
Andy Holloway
The back of my leg, I feel like what happened was like I lost a foot of it and they just, they connected it to together and it's, you know, it still works very, very tight. It's so tight.
Mike Wright
Oh, well. You ever seen hamstrings like these?
Andy Holloway
If I lift my leg up, my.
Jason Moore
Hamstring will pop like a guitar string.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, exactly.
Jason Moore
Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers.
Mike Wright
Oh, can you play them? It's like.
Andy Holloway
When I run. It is a glorious symphony. Oh, hamstring.
Jason Moore
That's your hamstring. Right? Um, let's talk about this Monday night game. Welcome in. We've got waiver wires, waiver wire picks on the show today, quarterback streamers, we'll talk about the news. And fantasy football gets you ready for week 11. Are we at week 11?
Andy Holloway
This is the time of year where waivers make all the difference. Preparing for playoffs, getting these final matchups.
Jason Moore
It's Great.
Andy Holloway
Take it home.
Jason Moore
Yeah, we are.
Andy Holloway
Foot clan title.
Jason Moore
Yeah, we are. I. I'm coming off an evening where, you know, I had some bad Mediterranean food and I look, I felt like very good, very good food when I ate it the first time. And you.
Mike Wright
You re.
Andy Holloway
Ate it. Wait, what?
Jason Moore
No, on the way in. On the way in and look, I. I feel like I really can relate and understand the Dolphins.
Mike Wright
Dolphins fans.
Jason Moore
Dolphins fans.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
That was. That was quite the performance.
Andy Holloway
Not good.
Mike Wright
You know, by Miami.
Jason Moore
I was a big Adam Gaze fan. He brought him to the playoffs last year. But I worry he's losing this team. The way he shipped J. Ajayi out of. Out of town. The way that they've underwhelmed. I mean I. They're only four and five. I could say.
Mike Wright
Yeah, it's. There's their record says that they're still.
Jason Moore
Okay, but nobody on planet Earth thinks that this team can compete for anything.
Mike Wright
No.
Jason Moore
Do we? I mean, no.
Mike Wright
No. Certainly not.
Jason Moore
And I'm not saying I don't like him. I just. The team is. Something weird's happening there. Their offense, he's an offensive mind and their offense is the worst in football or borderline. I mean it's just. It's. It's an odd thing and it affects everybody. It affects everybody from Landry who thankfully got a garbage time touchdown to Parker to the running back situation. So look, Drake, Kenyan Drake.
Andy Holloway
He's fast.
Jason Moore
The baby Dragon.
Mike Wright
Give the. Give this man more than seven carries. Seriously, it's ridiculous.
Andy Holloway
After he breaks off a great touchdown run, you don't take him out of the game for the entire next series. Ah, you weren't supposed to score a touchdown. You're.
Mike Wright
You're benched.
Jason Moore
Yeah. He stuck really strictly to the series for series.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Foolish.
Jason Moore
Well, any other fantasy takeaways from last night's gaming? Cam Newton lit it on fire.
Mike Wright
Panthers are absolutely dominant. That was as close to 2015 Cam Newton as we have seen all season. Projecting forward. I'm not jumping on saying this is what we should expect. I think this is a product of Cam having a good game. Also the Miami Dolphins are really, really bad.
Jason Moore
It. They're going to be fighting with the Saints for this division.
Mike Wright
Certainly they're a good team.
Jason Moore
It's been a real strange situation with Cam was somebody that I thought could be huge bounce back and I felt smart and dumb every other week.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
With Cam Newton.
Mike Wright
Well, and here's the thing about the Dolphins. You had Jonathan Stewart coming into the game averaging. I think they said on the broadcast the second worst yards per carry in the league. About 2.8. Comes out here. 17 carries for 110 yards. Looked like he looked unstoppable. I mean, so this is more a product of the Dolphins defense to me than anything else.
Jason Moore
The Megalodon episode, it's coming your way Wednesday before Thanksgiving. If you haven't been a part of a Megalodon episode, it really is life changing. Brooks, is that a two too strong of a. No, that's not strong enough. Yeah, yeah, it's. It's life changing experience. We.
Mike Wright
We.
Jason Moore
How long do we record? 30, 40 hours?
Andy Holloway
How long we want?
Jason Moore
Yeah, it's a very long episode. Gets you all ready for that weekend. Some special stuff on that show. No doubt. So the Megalodon is coming and with it, a Megalodon giveaway of some sort. Mike Wright
Oh, congratulations.
Jason Moore
Ten and.
Mike Wright
Oh, Magic Man. Barely Magic man over there. Yeah.
Jason Moore
Last night, a little ed Dixon. Christian McCaffrey almost knocked me off. Almost.
Mike Wright
And Devin S. Scrumptious. My goodness.
Jason Moore
Didn't you.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I was going to say, do.
Jason Moore
We have something for.
Mike Wright
Yeah, well, I mean, he's.
Andy Holloway
You gotta ask.
Mike Wright
Is there any questions?
Jason Moore
First off, for Devin S. Scrumptious, he says.
Mike Wright
Whoa.
Jason Moore
Very nice, Mike. Devin S. Scrumptious.
Mike Wright
You should also just look at the functions. Drop in there because that is also.
Jason Moore
What, did you add another one?
Mike Wright
Yeah, man, did. Steven S. Scrumptious. We got to celebrate.
Andy Holloway
I'm letting two touchdowns in the game. Five receptions, 92 yards. This is what we were all hoping.
Mike Wright
When, you know, Kevin just traded.
Andy Holloway
Kelvin's gone. The door has been open.
Jason Moore
Wow. Wow. Mike, you had a good. You had a nice evening.
Mike Wright
I did. All right.
Jason Moore
News and notes time.
Andy Holloway
News and notes from around the league.
Mike Wright
I need that on the board, that anytime his name is mentioned.
Jason Moore
Well done. That's better than the any question. Devin Scrumptious, big game. All right, Adam Schefter talking about Aaron Jones, says he's going to miss about three to six weeks with an MCL injury. If you had to bank on that backfield, you know, the packers say time Montgomery might play this week has a chance to play. Is that what you want associated with your fancy football players? Has a chance to play with chancing quotes?
Mike Wright
That's Ty Montgomery. All season long, he's got a chance.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, but you don't want to play him. I mean, this is a re aggravation of a rib injury that he, you know, already injured. So you put him out in the game. What's the chance he finishes that game if he plays this week? I would not want to roll that out in my fantasy lineup.
Mike Wright
And Aaron Jones, even if he misses three weeks, this is pretty close to fantasy death for this season for Aaron Jones because are you going to say, okay, it's week 14, it's the playoffs, Aaron Jones maybe is the starting running back.
Andy Holloway
No. No way. Packers so have to see it first, which means you're going to be in the middle of your fantasy playoffs and it's not happening. He's not going to come back and get that role, is he.
Mike Wright
Is he droppable?
Andy Holloway
Yes, 100% droppable. If you're in a redraft league, you. I think he. You don't want to take sitting here at week 11.
Jason Moore
Absolutely. All right. Rob Kelly is going to miss multiple games. Washington is in New Orleans. Do you have any confidence in playing anybody in the backfield other than Chris Thompson?
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Like, would you play P. Ryan against New Orleans?
Andy Holloway
In New Orleans, I would play P. Ryan in New Orleans. I know it's. We've been waiting for P. Ryan to do something, and so far this year he really has not. But the Washington offensive line during the draft season, that was, you know, one of it should have been like a top five offensive line. They've been decimated by injury this year, and it's finally coming back together. I think last game was the first game where all five pieces of the original starters were together. And he's going to get the opportunity. I know New Orleans defense has been.
Mike Wright
They were, they were like the sun on Shady.
Andy Holloway
Yes. No, they, they. They've been great.
Jason Moore
Not good.
Mike Wright
Not my best.
Jason Moore
Not your best.
Mike Wright
Judge Giamatti. I need a ruling on that one.
Jason Moore
He's shaking his head. No good, Mike.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
No, they've given up 41 yards and 47 yards the last two weeks to Doug Martin into Shady McCoy.
Andy Holloway
Sure. But then the previous two weeks, they gave up over 100 yards each, so I'm just saying they're not a shutdown lockdown. Can't play a good running back against them. I think P. Ryan this week is going to be a flex worthy start. And obviously this being the waiver show, he's someone you should be looking on your waivers to pick up if you need a spot. Started running back.
Jason Moore
When we talk about him later, I'll bring up some other names and you can kind of tell me whether you'd start P. Ryan or those players and we can help people make some decisions. Alan Hearns isn't going to play in week 11.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Philip Rivers, he's in the concussion protocol. He self reported some symptoms. He's in the protocol. We'll see if he plays this week.
Mike Wright
Let's get him that Russell Wilson magic tent.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that thing was nice.
Mike Wright
He's good to go.
Andy Holloway
Instant heel.
Mike Wright
Your party has been healed.
Jason Moore
I could have used that with that Mediterranean food listener.
Andy Holloway
You made up for it, Mike, right there.
Jason Moore
Marcus Mariota emerged with a sore left non throwing shoulder in a mild ankle sprain. No concerns about him playing or suiting up?
Mike Wright
Not right now.
Jason Moore
Delaney Walker, wrist injury. But he's of course expected to play because he's Delaney Walker.
Mike Wright
Yeah, but he is. Is he Thursday night? Is that what's happening?
Jason Moore
Yeah, yeah, yeah, he is. All right, well, that game is Pittsburgh, Tennessee on Thursday night in Tennessee. But Pittsburgh's a seven point favorite, I believe just. No, I'm sorry, that's in Pittsburgh.
Mike Wright
If he is dealing with an injury as the waivers, I would make a backup plan just in case.
Jason Moore
It's nice if you do get into that situation.
Mike Wright
I guess it's just you go with Johnny Smith.
Jason Moore
Well.
Andy Holloway
Or I don't think you need to because it's Thursday.
Jason Moore
You just sign somebody on Friday. If he doesn't play, you can just bench him out on Thursday if you don't want to. Plan ahead. If you have like a jam packed roster and you want to take a chance. Sure. All right. Excuse me. I don't have any other news, guys. Oh, Brooks, do you have anything?
Mike Wright
Nothing.
Andy Holloway
Let's talk some waiver wires. Put me in, coach.
Jason Moore
The 49ers, Colts, jets and Panthers are on by this week. Week 11. So, you know, don't start your Cam Newtons and your Marquis Goodwins. Otherwise zero points.
Mike Wright
Yep.
Jason Moore
All right, wide receivers, who are we targeting this week at the wide receiver position?
Mike Wright
Well, this. These are just the, you know, the kind of the probably owns. They're almost certainly owned. But you're talking in the 70% on Yahoo. Just make sure you check for Robbie Anderson, Sterling Shepard and Robert woods as like I said, they're probably gone, but you never know when people drop it like it's hot.
Andy Holloway
According to Yahoo, 30% of leagues you know, around there still have some of these players. So we definitely need to mention them because if we're diving deep and saying, hey look, you know, maybe you could pick up Jameson Crowder this week and play him. Don't do that if those other names are out there. As far as guys that are more widely available out on the waiver wire right now, you know, this is about a 5050 guy, not someone that is everywhere. But I still believe in Jeremy Macklin. I have this whole season.
Mike Wright
Sure.
Andy Holloway
He's. He's shown up for every game that Joe Flacco has been the starter for and I think you could get. I mean he's got a matchup in Green Bay this coming week and moving forward, I think Jeremy Macklin will be a weekly guy that the rest of the season in the right matchup you can play whereas some of these guys are. You're only looking for this week.
Mike Wright
Right.
Jason Moore
I actually agree with that. I think I've been impressed with.
Mike Wright
Yeah, we won him over.
Andy Holloway
Got him.
Jason Moore
At least with the potential of that combination. I think Joe Flacco's been playing. He can play better and this offense can move the ball better than it has. It just needs to be healthy. You're going to get Danny Woodhead back in the mix in the next few weeks. Not expected this week, but that will help move the offense and when it comes push comes to shove down in the. In the red zone, if they can ever get there, I think Macklin's going to be pretty involved and so I like that take. Do you like him more than a guy like Marquis Lee rest of the season?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I do.
Mike Wright
Just because that's that schedule, man. Packers, Houston, Detroit. I mean you can play him in all those Pittsburgh on the road, I probably would not.
Jason Moore
But then with Hayden out, maybe it's not a big deal.
Mike Wright
Possibly. Yeah, certainly. But then you Browns, Colts, I mean.
Andy Holloway
That'S a Browns Colts will be your semifinal and your championship.
Mike Wright
That's a pretty solid.
Andy Holloway
That's Jeremy Macklin's schedule. As far as Marquis Lee, he. He has looked like the number one target. Alan Hearns is out. So I do like Marquis Lee. Probably like him even more this week at Cleveland depending on. I know it's really, really early, but the weather reports scare me right now. In Cleveland. Although come to think of it, it's kind of Cleveland and Green Bay. There is a storm a brewing this week, so maybe, maybe look for some dome games.
Jason Moore
I really like a 0% owned player named Bruce Ellington.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
This week at home, Patrick Peterson will be locked up often with DeAndre Hopkins. Will Fuller hurt passing options? Not a lot of them. I think that Bruce Ellington could give you a very surprise game. Now you're talking deeper leagues, bye week, stressful situations. I have a league where I'm looking to start him because I have, you know, a bunch of injuries and players. On by, Ty Hilton on by. But Bruce Ellington, if you need a name from nowhere that no one's going to sign, I want him on your radar.
Mike Wright
Yeah, absolutely. I'll throw out once again, Josh Dachshund. Although this, I mean, this feels more and more like Joe Mixon situation where you just, you're like, okay, this is the week. But if you actually watched what happened in the, in the game, Josh Dachshund was wide open for a touchdown on just a simple out route. Lost his footing, fell down, no touchdown. Later in the game, he's just running a seam route. Wide open, wide open to the inside. Kirk Cousins misses him. And I believe there was another play that could have resulted in a touchdown that was simply not executed on. So Josh Dachshund is getting involved. It was four for 30. He had seven targets, which, I mean, that's, that's a new career high. We're talking snaps. 92, 92% for Josh Dachshund. Washington is there. They're saying, okay, Dachshund is the guy.
Andy Holloway
It.
Mike Wright
The connection still hasn't happened, but it feels like we are so close to it happening.
Andy Holloway
I really like Josh Dachshund. He. He is like you said, Mike, that 4 for 30 line does not speak to his involvement. Watching the film is like, oh, he is seemingly their number one wide receiver.
Jason Moore
Well, that's what my follow up was going to be. Xavier Rhodes track Dachshund the whole game. So their best D, I mean, Minnesota's perspective is Dachshund's number one. The targets were still there. He still had a tough matchup. It was just one of those, hey, maybe we're seeing, you know, the calm before the fantasy storm. Hopefully we see some touchdowns out of Dachshund. They need to use him. And they're, I mean, they're scraping the bottom of the barrel for wide receiver options there.
Mike Wright
If nothing else, he has to play the Saints this week so that you know it's a tougher matchup with the Saints, the way they're playing. But then he gets the Giants.
Jason Moore
Sure.
Mike Wright
So mark the calendar two weeks. Josh Dachshund, breakout.
Andy Holloway
Well, and the same could be said for another guy that we've been saying to pick up for a while, Corey Davis. This week he's at Pittsburgh, not the best matchup. And last week you look at his line, 4 for 48 and a fumble. So he didn't have a good fantasy day. But that fumble was an inch away from a touchdown. It was one of those, oh, the.
Mike Wright
End zone fumbles, fumbled through the end.
Andy Holloway
Zone and should have been a touchdown. And if you go, oh, it's 4 for 49 and a touchdown next week, not this coming week, but next week he's at Pittsburgh, more involved and a super talented player.
Mike Wright
And I apologize because I can't recall the source, but someone had tweeted out. There has been three times a Tennessee receiver has received double digit targets. Two of those games are Corey Davis, who has played four games. So clearly they want to get him involved.
Jason Moore
By far the most well rounded and talented wide receiver that they have. And he's getting healthier and he's flashed some big playability. You say all these things about a guy like Doxson or Mixon or Davis, but you. The reason we say that, you know that like you're waiting, at least you were waiting for the potential of something. Like there are so many players that that statement can't be said about. Right? Like there's baselines to these players that aren't as athletic or young or, you know, in line for more opportunity. You're kind of looking to mix and match the, you know, that opportunity that.
Mike Wright
You can see there, it's kinetic energy.
Andy Holloway
It's there and there's there. There's one other guy that I would throw out. You know, look in, in super deep leagues, maybe you look at Dede Westbrook or Josh Gordon.
Mike Wright
With Alan Hearns hurt. Do you think that Dee Dee gets activated this week?
Andy Holloway
I don't think that will be based on the Alan Hearns injury. It's based on D.D. westbrook's injury. But the guy that I would. Speaking of injured guys coming back, the one I would target more than any of them would be Corey Coleman. He's all systems go for week 11. Now, this is a terrible week because he's playing against Jacksonville, but I would pick him up because I still believe in the talent.
Jason Moore
I don't know how to feel about him. I like the player, but an injured player coming back on Cleveland. I'm just. I don't know how to feel about it.
Andy Holloway
Sure. No, I completely get it. But if you're a team looking for someone that could blow up later in the playoffs, there's just not that many options of guys as talented who could end up with a market share. I mean, he's beyond their best wide receiver. They don't have any good options. So, you know, if Kaiser starts coming around two, three weeks from now, Corey Coleman, who's available in almost, can I.
Jason Moore
At least grimace when I put in the waiver claim?
Andy Holloway
Absolutely. I think it's required.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Mike Wright
Now the last name I'll throw out for the wide receiver. Marquis Goodwin continues to have big games. It was only one catch, but it was a monster touchdown. He is on the bye week, unfortunately. And coming out like it's hard. Yeah. Coming out of that he plays Seattle. Are you trying to add Goodwin this week?
Andy Holloway
No, not if he's coming out playing Seattle because he'll be available in two weeks from now.
Mike Wright
Right.
Jason Moore
All right. We're going to talk running back waiver pickups, but before we do, we want to thank pristineauction.com let me tell you what they auctioned off yesterday.
Mike Wright
Don't do it.
Jason Moore
This is just a handful of their hundreds of daily sports memorabilia auctions. Joe Montana signed 16 by 20 photo inscribed hall of Fame 43 bucks. Evan Ingram signed White Ice mini helmet $70 Michael Bennett signed Seahawks jersey 60 bucks. Stefan Diggs. You can get a photo 16 by 20 signed photo 51 bucks. Or you can get them a signed piece of memorabilia from their favorite team@pristineauction.com let them know the fantasy footballers sent you P R I S T I n e auction.com and we want to.
Mike Wright
Thank fantasy champs for being the best place in the history of the known universe to get your fantasy football hardware. Foot Clint I am looking at these rings, these fantasy football championship rings right now. They are fantastic. They're beautiful. They have. They got that gem. So you got. Sometimes you got to bling out.
Andy Holloway
That's the one That I like. I like the one that's bling it out and the sparkle and is going to blind your eyes. But I know you, Mike, and the.
Mike Wright
One I love is this. Just super clean. It's got the FFL shield on it. It's a stainless steel ring.
Andy Holloway
It is beautiful. It is gorgeous. I will say this. We used to argue about that because I was like, oh, man, you gotta have that bling. And then when we got ours and you chose the stainless steel and you put it in that display case, Hard to decide. It looks real good.
Mike Wright
Yeah. And that's what it's all about, getting those rings and the ring display case. We've all got them. They're customized. They let people know that I was the champion multiple times. So, of course, long ago, I have multiple rings. You got to check it out. Go to fantasychamps.com and you can use the promo code ballers and save a little bit of quiche.
Jason Moore
Feel like their motto should be, like, become insufferable to your league mate. All right, running back pickups this week. These guys are probably on. You know, alf, you know, Orleans Darkwa, who was heavily involved again in that offense for New York.
Mike Wright
I think Alpha is a drop it like it's hot candidate.
Jason Moore
You might see other teams drop them.
Mike Wright
Just saying it's very possible.
Andy Holloway
And for those of you that are new, drop it like it's hot means this was one of our preseason tips. Always look on the waiver wires of not just who was picked up, but more importantly, who was dropped, because there might be someone even more valuable than who was available on waivers. And don't just do that on the main waiver day every day, Wednesday morning, every single day. Because there's nothing more infuriating than waking up Saturday or whatever. And Mike, you know, being like, hey, did you see who I got last night? It's like, right? Oh, I just hate it.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
I just hate it. It's like, how did I miss? This is a tip we give look at who's dropped.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Because, I mean, look, it's that. That sweet drop it like it's hot. Discipline. That gets you that title and then gets you that ring. And then we don't want to be your friend anymore. I mean, that's the goal.
Andy Holloway
And friends win championships. Fantasy championship is the head, my friend.
Jason Moore
Yeah, my friends are all those rings and trophies. I just sit and watch movies with them. Because that's what you do with friends. You just barely. All right, I'm struggling, Brooks.
Andy Holloway
Jamal Williams, to me, is one of the clearest pickup candidates.
Jason Moore
Oh, yeah.
Mike Wright
The top two guys this week will be Jamal Williams and Samaj P. Ryan.
Jason Moore
Yeah, absolutely. And I think both, both are basically unowned and both are well deserving of rostering. Even if you didn't start P. Ryan this week, even if you just wanted to see what you had in P. Ryan this week, if Rob Kelly's going to miss multiple weeks and you got the Giants at home in two weeks, at least you have a flexibility situation. In terms of P. Ryan, the running back for the Redskins. Jamal Williams, packers. And then he could be the starter. He had 20 carries last week and they're going to need to take pressure off Brett Hundley.
Andy Holloway
I agree that those are the two main pickups. If you need a start, those are the hot ones. So let's talk between them. What prices would you bid and in which order? Would you rather have Jamal Williams or would you rather have Samaj P. Ryan going forward? And here's some of the schedule. Let's just take the next three weeks where it looks like both of these players will be valuable. Jamal Williams is at home against Baltimore, not that great. On the road against Pittsburgh, not that great. Although they're, you know, they're much better against the pass in the run. And then Tampa Bay, which is great. But by three weeks from now, I assume Ty Montgomery will be back. Then you got Samaj P. Ryan, who's at New Orleans. I don't think that's too bad of a matchup. The New York Giants at home. Yes, please. And then on the road against Dallas.
Mike Wright
This isn't really necessarily matchup based decision for me. This is Samajp Ryan because he's the clear one, two down back. While Jamal Williams want to make the.
Jason Moore
Same argument in reverse.
Andy Holloway
Oh, really? Oh, this is great.
Jason Moore
I was going to make the argument that, look, Jamal Williams is the clear one and two down bad.
Mike Wright
But is he?
Jason Moore
Yes.
Andy Holloway
If he is wild, Ty Montgomery is out.
Jason Moore
Yeah, well, sure, but you're dealing with Montgomery's injury. You're dealing with Rob Kelly's injury.
Mike Wright
But Rob Kelly is not.
Jason Moore
But you have Chris Thompson involved there.
Mike Wright
Yeah, of course there's always multiple running backs, but Ty Montgomery might play this weekend. Rob Kelly will not play for multiple weeks.
Jason Moore
Who's higher odds of 20 carries though? I feel like that is Jamal Williams.
Mike Wright
Yeah, that's fair.
Jason Moore
The irony of all this.
Mike Wright
But who has the higher touchdown upside?
Jason Moore
P. Ryan on a better offense? Yes, absolutely. And this is why my actual answer to Jason. No, no, no. Every argument's good. But my actual answer to Jason was going to be I'd bid the same and I would bid.
Andy Holloway
You still got to order that.
Jason Moore
I would.
Andy Holloway
No, you have to.
Mike Wright
You have to.
Andy Holloway
You have to. Priority making me.
Mike Wright
That's all this is.
Andy Holloway
I'm not making you.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Andy Holloway
If I had to prioritize, they're making you.
Jason Moore
If I had to prioritize, you do.
Andy Holloway
Legitimately stop saying if this is not hypothetical.
Jason Moore
In a hypothetical situation where I have.
Mike Wright
Mr. Computer, please make my decision.
Jason Moore
I would put P. Ryan. I would put them at the same amount of money and I'd put P. Ryan one ahead.
Andy Holloway
All right, and what amount of money would that be?
Jason Moore
But I'd be happy that the computer makes my other league mates make the decision. What amount would that be in relative to what my remaining balance in Fab is?
Andy Holloway
I would say relative to your starting let your $100 league.
Jason Moore
It's all based. That's tough because it's all based on whether I need to start somebody this week.
Andy Holloway
Would you.
Jason Moore
If I just need to put them on my bench, I'd be bidding 10%. If I need. Well, let's.
Andy Holloway
Let's talk about those who need them because that's people really.
Jason Moore
If you need him, for a start, I'd be bidding half of what I had left, if not more.
Mike Wright
If I need a running back, Samaj P. Ryan and Jamal Williams, does that.
Jason Moore
Mean that the rest of these options. Matt Burrita, who had a good week, Ekeler Lacy, who could play. They're not good enough. So you're bidding it all on P. Riner Williams get the win. Get the Week 11 win.
Mike Wright
Exactly.
Jason Moore
Move on to the playoffs.
Mike Wright
Well, and you have a. What looks like a long term solution at the running back position. At least a long term guy who will get touches and snaps where Burrita is. We've seen this a couple weeks ago where he came in and Carlos Hyde was still the man. Burrito just got the touchdown. Austin Eckler, while he's, you know, arguably a better running back than Melvin Gordon, he's still just the handcuff.
Jason Moore
What if you could get Damian Williams for the same price as Jamal Williams or Samaj P. Ryan? Would you?
Mike Wright
I would much rather have Jamal or Samaji.
Jason Moore
Really. Okay. What is Matt Burrida in terms of rest of season and dynasty in that situation? In rest, asking for a friend.
Mike Wright
Sure. Rest of season, he's. He's still simply a handcuff that you. If you're panicked and have nothing else, you can throw him in there and hope that he Gets a touchdown for dynasty purposes. Carlos Hyde is really an enigma because you had all that weirdness of this past offseason where they were going to move on from Carlos Hyde. The Lynch, the GM for the 49ers has made some really questionable decisions already this past offseason, the way he was handling things. So it wouldn't shock me if they get rid of Carlos Hyde, but football wise, it would be stupid. It would be.
Jason Moore
No, I get it.
Mike Wright
Rid of Carlos Hyde. The best running back on your team.
Andy Holloway
You know, a name that we didn't.
Jason Moore
Tell that to, Adam Gates, A name.
Andy Holloway
That we didn't bring up with Orleans Dark 1 Alfred Morris as those probably owned guys from last night's game. Kenyon Drake is actually, you know, according to yahoo, is only 57% owned. So he's actually out there in a lot of leagues. And personally I would rather have Kenyan Drake than Samaj P. Ryan or Jamal Williams.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Andy Holloway
So I would throw him in that mix where I bid. You know, I feel like a couple really good matchups.
Jason Moore
Yeah, you can use them now.
Andy Holloway
And he doesn't have anyone coming back to steal away touches. In fact, his prognosis going forward would be probably slowly, week by week, just getting more and more touches as he's the superior talent you would think you would hope. Adam. Adam, if you are listening, I know you're a fan of the show. Put, put a little Kenyan Drake in the game a little bit more. Damian Williams sucks.
Jason Moore
Well, that's really nice of you. I think you get a little hate.
Andy Holloway
On that on my Damian Williams.
Mike Wright
People like him.
Jason Moore
I don't mind people who Dolphins fans, numbers don't lie.
Andy Holloway
I don't mind Damian Williams the man. I just mind Damian Williams the running back.
Jason Moore
That's good. That's good. Eddie Lacey, Thomas Rawls, other possible ads. Danny Woodhead will be back. We don't know when. So he's still a kind of. So I've been looking at cursory play.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I've been looking into the Danny Woodhead news because he is a guy that I think when he gets back, you know, when he gets plugged in, he's going to be great. He's going to be there for the fantasy playoffs and be a, you know, a guy that I believe will help win titles.
Mike Wright
They just released the Baltimore Ravens released Bobby Rainey.
Jason Moore
So it, it's coming.
Mike Wright
It would appear they are positioning.
Andy Holloway
Yes. Now the reports early when he first got this hamstring injury was okay, it's two to four weeks and then it quickly was like, no, no, this is six to eight weeks and then Danny Woodhead injury, right? And he's 33 years old. He's not going to recover quicker than the average NFL player at 33. And he's never been, you know, a quick healer. This issue, we don't know how severe the tear was, but if it was a, if it was a grade three, that's usually like a three to six month timeline. And we're only two months in, so follow the news because supposed to practice.
Jason Moore
Tuesday, you just don't know if he's going to.
Andy Holloway
He's been practicing lightly. The question is whether or not he's good enough to come back and go full speed. So keep him on your radar. If he's dropped and you're in an IR league, definitely pick him up. But in those situations, he's probably already stashed.
Jason Moore
If you're looking for a week, you know, a signing for this week, it's Drake, it's P. Ryan. If you're looking, if you're sitting pretty, you got a roster you, you want to protect against some injuries down the line or whatever that case may be. Look at a guy like Danny Woodhead, maybe you look at a guy like Rex Burkhead to see if that sustained involvement, you know, you see it for multiple weeks. Another guy to just throw out there. I mean, if Elijah McGuire is going to get 58% of snaps and Matt Forte is going to miss a long time, you could look at McGuire. I don't think you, I think you wait another week to do that with the bye week.
Andy Holloway
So I will, I will say this. Another guy that I'm, I'm looking to add in, in a couple of these leagues is Eddie Lacy. He, I don't know that he'll be back this week, but if you're talking about, you know, the Danny Wood heads, the guys where it's like, I'm not sure, I don't need the spot start right now. But Eddie Lacy actually looked good when, you know, he was finally given the role before he got injured with his groin. That was great.
Jason Moore
Somebody I saw, I read it on Reddit, like every, I don't know, seems like every week there's a thread about what's your favorite fantasy football podcast? Because nobody can like find the one that was just posted. And somebody replied and said, fantasy footballers. It's a great show. Really enjoy it. And the first reply was, ack my groin.
Andy Holloway
Fantastic clan assemble.
Jason Moore
So we've associated ourselves with.
Mike Wright
McGroy and I'm going to throw Out. You want to talk about grimacing when you put in a way, reclaim. Latavius Murray is still available.
Andy Holloway
I wouldn't grimace at all.
Jason Moore
I would, but I grimace when I throw him into the starting line.
Mike Wright
Yeah, but he's getting opportunity.
Jason Moore
You're just playing roulette with the goal line.
Mike Wright
He's really only come through with two good games for fantasy purposes, but, you know, over the past three weeks, he's averaging 18 carries.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, that's fantastic. You got to pick him up, be on waivers.
Jason Moore
I'd rather have. I think I'd rather put Latavius Murray in there than play with that offense and how it's playing than play like the Jamal Williams game on that offense.
Andy Holloway
Okay, let me ask you, Kenya Drake or Latavius Murray?
Jason Moore
I take Drake for the big play. I know he's involved. I know he's going to catch passes and he can actually break a long one. Whereas I'm not waiting for Murray to get his turn around the goal line.
Andy Holloway
You know, looking at Latavius Murray's carries since the injury, 12, 15, 18, 19, 17, that is a guy heavily involved in a pretty good offense. Maybe we're missing bearing the lead here with the sneakiness of Latavius Murray.
Jason Moore
I think you also look at matchup opportunities for them. Like I love Latavius Murray as a start against Green bay in week 16 and week 17, 17 against Chicago. Whereas, you know, a team like the Rams this week, I think it favors McKinnon because I think the Rams are going to score points and I think this game is going to be higher scoring. Detroit, Atlanta, next couple weeks might favor McKinnon a little bit, but the carry counts. I mean, you can't argue with it. A couple touchdowns over the last three weeks. Let's move on to some tight end options. Greg Olson's in the camp of Danny Woodhead. Greg Olson's practicing.
Mike Wright
He is on his bye week this week.
Jason Moore
He is on his bye week. But he's 59% owned and this is the time you can snag him a week ahead of people that become aware next week when he's activated and he's in the headlines. Jermaine Grassland scored a couple consecutive weeks. He's a streaming option. But my favorites, they're probably owned. But Vernon Davis right now still the guy to go get. Jared Cook super heavily involved and had the week 10 buy. So maybe he snuck out there. Maybe he was a drop it like it's hot. Somebody dropped him and you could snag him.
Mike Wright
The Vernon Davis is so ridiculous. Like in my money league. Sunday morning the news comes out. Okay, Jordan Reed is actually not going to play. And I had Seferrian Jenkins and I just took a little look at the waiver wire. There's Vernon Davis just sitting there, just, just sitting there like a disrespected. Just a delightful early Christmas present. Picked him up, played him.
Andy Holloway
How'd you do?
Mike Wright
He, he outscored ASJ slightly. Both of them had pretty good games. But it's just the fact that Vernon Davis, he is, he's playing so well. He's playing so well that his ownership at 64% is ludicrous.
Jason Moore
It's still tough to argue that there's a tight end out there that can make a harder cut than Vernon Davis does in the open field. When he gets the ball, he's still does it. And he's a player who twice in his career, 13 touchdowns, had, you know, pushed a thousand yards multiple times. I know he's not that guy anymore, but he knows what he's doing. And if he was the full time tight end in Washington for the entire year, what are we talking, 808?
Andy Holloway
You're talking a top five tight end probably. Especially with the way that Kirk Cousins uses.
Jason Moore
Exactly.
Andy Holloway
Uses tight ends. You can look for Martella's, Bennett.
Mike Wright
So just.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Just to play the game with Vernon Davis since week three when. Because they, they didn't use him weeks one and two. You know, you're talking one target those two games. But since week three, his pace is 66 receptions over a thousand yards.
Jason Moore
There you go.
Mike Wright
He's been a monster.
Jason Moore
Well, he's a downfield threat, a threat in the seam.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
He's a yak master. He is on the open field. He's incredible.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
All right, how about this name if you need tight ends.
Jason Moore
Just real quick. You mentioned Martellus Bennett's. People might see the 3 for 38. Everything you need to know about Martellus Bennett's free agency situation, here are your waiver situation. I mean, Dwayne Allen caught a touchdown in a game where Gronkowski had a nice game and Martellus Bennett had three catches. Like please know that was.
Mike Wright
That was exploiting the Denver defense against the tight end position.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I was going to bring up Charles Clay. Charles Clay. That's, that's who I was going to bring up. If you look at his schedule moving forward, the Los Angeles Chargers are usually an okay team to play the tight end position than the Jets, New Orleans. It's a. I'm sorry, the Chargers The Chiefs, New England, Indianapolis, Miami. I mean, you've got a stretch where every single week you're going to be playing him. And this was a very disappointing week. When he came back. If you had disappointing for the Buffalo Bills. Yeah, if you had picked him up and played him, you were really disappointed this last week. But it was his first week back off of injury. You still saw Nick O'Leary a little bit involved. He got a touchdown.
Mike Wright
Clay did not play his usual snaps. He's in the 60% where he's usually in those mid-80s.
Andy Holloway
Right. So if he goes back to that with this lineup of games, I think you'll be really happy with Charles Clay. If you can't get a Greg Olson and you're dealing with all the bar fee tight ends this year, check out.
Mike Wright
Watch for the Tomb Raider. Tyler Croft still in on that? Yeah, I am. It was a bad game. Look, he had. But he had six targets. But it was only one for four. He gets to take on Denver and.
Andy Holloway
Cleveland the following week.
Mike Wright
I'm still in on Tyler Croft.
Jason Moore
I want to talk about your favorite defensive starts for this week. You're picking up a defense, you're playing them. I want to talk about Philadelphia, the Dallas situation, Tyrone Smith. We saw what Atlanta's defense did to Dallas. Do you feel like. And Philadelphia is a top 10 D. The last I've heard Jerry Jones's quote on Tyrone Smith this week is I hope so. He's not practicing on Wednesday. They say he has a better chance to play than Sean Lee does for that defense, for that, that team, but it's not a guarantee he plays.
Mike Wright
Now.
Jason Moore
Chaz Green is probably not going to be there, but the pass rush in Philadelphia, the opportunity without Ezekiel Elliott. I like Philadelphia. I like Kansas City.
Mike Wright
If Smith is. If Tyrone Smith is out for Dallas, Philadelphia will be. They'll be in sensational play.
Jason Moore
What other defenses do you like this week? Baltimore takes on Green Bay if they're available after their bye week. Houston at Arizona. I think Houston's an upside play. You've got Blaine Gabbard likely starting. Arizona doesn't offer you a ton offensively if they can shut down, which they've generally shut down. The running game last week was an exception. But if they shut down Adrian Peterson, we see how Arizona can't score.
Mike Wright
You got to check out the Bengals. They get to play the Broncos and they're very low owned. I would be very interested in that play as well.
Andy Holloway
Full stream ahead.
Jason Moore
All right, full stream ahead. We're looking for a quarterback streaming option. Somebody can sign off the waiver wire roll out there. He had some players last week that were home runs in that department. If you could get Jared Goff last week, it worked out for you. If you could play a guy like C.J. bethard, he had a monster game. Kurt Cousins had a big game. Let's look at this week. I. There are several options out there. Case Keenum was another player you could have streamed last week. And Jason, looks like you're going with him again this week.
Andy Holloway
I am going with him again this week. Give me the Case now for Case, sure. Case Keenum is a guy that you can't bank on one performance leading into the next. So originally I was going to throw a little bit of caution because, you know, earlier in the season, week three against Tampa Bay, he threw for 369 yards, three touchdowns. Oh, case Keenum, he's so great. And then the next week, Detroit seems like a good matchup. 219 yards, no touchdowns. So, you know, that's why he's on the waivers, is because he's. He's not this locked and loaded guarantee. But the LA Rams are going to score even on this Minnesota defense. This is in Minnesota, which is good for Case Keenum, especially good for weather coming up this week. You're in a dome, so I don't have to worry about weather. I'm at home and I'm probably going to have to keep up with scoring against the LA Rams. I just like that combination. Case Keenum should be able to get it done.
Jason Moore
I would also not underestimate the return of Stefan Diggs to the lineup and making that baseline a little higher for Keenum. It's not just Thielen or Rudolph or McKinnon. Yeah, you got Diggs threatening downfield.
Andy Holloway
Now, the week three matchup where he was awesome and threw for 369 and three, well, that was when Diggs was the wider, the number one wide receiver in fantasy that week. And then you lost Diggs after that. So The Diggs feeling, McKinnon, Kyle Rudolph. Case Keenum has enough weapons at home in a dome to get it done. Okay, like that at home in a dome.
Mike Wright
Eli, nicely done.
Jason Moore
I'm going with Eli Manning.
Mike Wright
Eli, look, Kansas City's getting whooped.
Jason Moore
They're getting whooped by fantasy quarterbacks. I'm not calling for a 404 case Keenum type of game. I'm just calling for 250 and 2, which is what Eli's been able to do. You've got Sterling Shepard back involved, Evan Ingram, I think Eli, I think he's safe against Kansas City. They should be. They're gonna be losing that game. So I'm gonna go. I got a question for you guys after this segment, by the way.
Mike Wright
All right. And the name I'm gonna throw out there. Hopefully he can get a little bit of that beard back after he shaved the face like a buffoon. Get that beard back. Get some of that magic back. Ryan Fitz. Magic. Ryan Fitzpatrick, quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Jason Moore
Gets Mike Evans back.
Mike Wright
He gets Mike Evans back. He also gets to play against the Miami Dolphins. So that's a very beatable matchup. Dolphins making Cam Newton look like an MVP again. I think that. I think it's a great opportunity for Fitzpatrick to do it. Look, he did last week was bad. Certainly was bad. It was also bad for Josh McCown in that game playing at the same time. And you can go back a couple of weeks when Fitzpatrick came in and relief against the Cardinals. 293 touchdowns. He's fine. Streamer this week.
Jason Moore
All right, Those were our streaming quarterback options. I do want to get into the mailbag today, Mike. Clear those pipes.
Mike Wright
What about that question?
Jason Moore
I'm going to save it for the mail.
Mike Wright
Oh, okay.
Andy Holloway
Mailbag.
Mike Wright
Mailbag.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
All right. We love helping you win in fantasy football. That's kind of the show. That's what we do. If you want to send a question in, go to the website, the Fancy Footballers.com. click the submit a question button or you can dial our voicemail hotline. 302464, TFFB. We are going to jump into a voicemail. I'm going to give you that question. Guys, I know how concerned you are for my team, but I really don't know what to do in this situation.
Andy Holloway
I hope the mailbag is just as Andy.
Jason Moore
This one comes in from Andy from the undefeated league, Carson Wentz.
Mike Wright
Oh, no. I was hoping you, like, recorded a voicemail question of you.
Jason Moore
Hey, guys, Big fan of the show. Love everything you do. Really love the host. Carson wins against Dallas or do I go with Alex Smith at home or. I'm sorry, in New York against the Giants. Ooh, it's hard to decide. I really want to stay undefeated.
Mike Wright
That is a tough question.
Jason Moore
Also really like that host. Did I mention that?
Mike Wright
Yeah. Yes, you did. Voice line.
Andy Holloway
Look, both are great. You're talking about, you know, the two best quarterbacks in football and both plus matchups. Now, New York's matchup is great. I mean, their defense is quit or it just appears that they're not playing with you. Know the eyes on the playoffs. Obviously they're not going after guys in the open field. Are they going to be able to chase down Tyreek Hill, for instance, when they're giving or Zeus 90% effort? So Alex Smith is a great play, but if Sean Lee is out, which he should, it appears he will be for Dallas. He is everything to that defense and I think the better quarterback it is actually Carson Wentz.
Jason Moore
That's the way I was leaning next to. Thanks, Jason.
Mike Wright
When did you turn into Michael Jackson?
Jason Moore
I don't know. Let's go here. Let's go to this next question. This is a voicemail question and it piggybacks on what Jason was talking about with the Chiefs matchup. Or maybe it doesn't. Maybe it doesn't. I'm going to just. It's not playing. So does the Chiefs bye week count as Tyreek Hill's down week on the Tyreek Hill roller coaster?
Mike Wright
This is the analysis I need, man.
Andy Holloway
It has to.
Mike Wright
Really?
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Because I'm thinking it's odd and even weeks. It's not games.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Andy Holloway
I'm saying it counts. And put it this way, it's the New York Giants.
Jason Moore
What's the verdict, Brooks? Does it count? I'd like to hear from the judge.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Because this is a confusing legal situation.
Mike Wright
Oh, it counts.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Andy Holloway
All right. Well, maybe. Maybe I changed to Alex Smith. And also if you are new and you don't know what we're talking about. Holy moly. Tyree Kill. Yeah, let me pull those up. So Tyree Kills games have gone back and forth every single week.
Jason Moore
Just like a man climbing up.
Mike Wright
No, it's my ping pong. Right.
Andy Holloway
Ping pong. Sound effects. We all know. Here's his points and a half point scoring. 24 week one. Down to seven. 18, down to five. 15, down to five. 24, down to two. 17, two. I don't know.
Mike Wright
Well, no, he took a zero last year.
Jason Moore
Zero on the buy.
Andy Holloway
On the buy, yeah. So this is the up week.
Mike Wright
Very nice.
Jason Moore
If he had scored on the buy, I'd be off of him this week.
Mike Wright
Good point.
Jason Moore
Curtis in San Jose has a question. Marvin Jones or Juju to Ms. Schuster Rest of season?
Andy Holloway
Juju. I believe I'm going to go juju as well.
Jason Moore
I'm going to go juju. With Golladay getting back in the mix, having multiple receiving options in Detroit, I'm going to go juju.
Mike Wright
Yeah, it's. Man, that one's tough for me. I'm the slower buy in on juju to have continued success. I know he had it, you know, once again last week. But you also saw Antonio Brown vanish from the fantasy line. And Marvin Jones has been so hot. But I mean, I guess you got to lean juju at this point because I do agree with the smooth routes coming in and taking some of that juice from Marvin Jones Juju last three.
Andy Holloway
Games, each of the last three games he's had a touchdown. Last two weeks he has a combined, almost a combined 300 yards.
Jason Moore
I hope he becomes a thing for a long time because the name is just fun.
Andy Holloway
Oh, he's got great juju in that name.
Jason Moore
Good. Here's a great question, guys. I want to know what you think, especially after the last two weeks. David Horner from Twitter says this guaranteed lock for the playoffs. Should I try to trade DeAndre Hopkins for Michael Crabtree?
Andy Holloway
Ooh.
Jason Moore
Now I'm asking this because we were all about Hopkins schedule being tough in the playoffs. But with Savage, he has been good for two consecutive weeks, right?
Mike Wright
The targets, the target market share has gone up even more. I mean, Watson was all about that Hopkins life. And Tom Savage said, hey, maybe that works.
Jason Moore
And we know Savage is starting again this week. Seems they're pretty committed him mostly because they know they don't have anything else.
Mike Wright
If you're going to make this move, which I'm still open to it because I do have concerns about the matchups for Hopkins in the, in the Jalen.
Andy Holloway
Ramsey and the Jacksonville Jaguars in the semifinals. And then in week 16, the championship week is Pittsburgh.
Mike Wright
Thank you so, and we know that the Raiders, we talked about this. They have a, they have plus matchups in the fantasy playoffs. But you have to get more. You can't, you can't say I have the number one wide receiver in fantasy football and DeAndre Hopkins say, hey, let's just do a, do a swap. No, you upgrade something else as well and to really make it worth it.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that's a good point. So. All right, that is it for today's show. Tomorrow we'll jump into some more mailbag. We got what? Pump the brakes tomorrow, Brooks. Yes, sir. All right, we got pump the breaks. Some other stuff going on in the show. Thanks for tuning in. Check out draft.comballers that was a little loud.
Mike Wright
You got it.
Jason Moore
You figured it out. I figured it out. Draft.comballers I love Michael Keith.
Mike Wright
Goodbye.
