Here's something I would have said if this had happened four years ago.

Would you say that it was a. I would. Not a regular signing or like a.

You know, people have said, don't forget your roots. If we didn't get that drop in there, we'll have lost ourselves.

So Brandon Marshall announced on. On his own social media without much fanfare. We kind of had forgotten Brandon Marshall was around and now he's a Seattle Seahawk.

[Jason Moore]

He looked like a guy who had just walked out of the Seattle Seahawks team shop with a new jersey. It wasn't at a facility or anything. He's just holding up. He's got his hands out with a jersey on.

[Mike Wright]

Have we heard from the Seahawks that this was actually a valid move?

[Andy Holloway]

You know, it's ironic because there was a. A confirmation later that the physical actually had been passed and that this is a real thing. Yeah, well, yes, he is a member of the Seattle Seahawks. So what does it mean?

[Jason Moore]

Yeah, that's the question of the day. Does it have any fantasy impact? People want to know. Doug. Doug Baldwin, Russell Wilson. I mean, the narrative that that's hitting the streets is that, ah, we've got our Jimmy Graham replacement, right? We've got our goal line threat, Brandon Marshall, here we come. He's very tall.

[Andy Holloway]

He is. He scored a lot of touchdowns. But Scott Barrett out there, shout out, good friend of the show tweeted out that, you know, historically speaking, efficiency in the red zone is not Brandon Marshall's bag. I will say this on Brandon Marshall, I think that he is. I think he's washed. I really do. I mean, in the five games that he played last year, you know, this is a guy that's always been, you know, a really good yards per reception down the field guy. He was, you know, 8.6 yards a reception. He was, you know, 54% completion percentage. This is a guy where it literally crossed my mind as I restatted the Seahawks out redistributed, you know, the stats to what I believe is going to happen. I thought, is it possible that this hurts Russell Wilson? Because I think that Brandon Marshall is going to get 60 plus targets and if those targets are, you know, if they're not separating, if they're caught at a bad percentage, you know, that's not helpful. Now, I didn't move Russell. I did take a little bit extra away from Baldwin just from a target market share because he had. I had him significantly higher than last year due to the.

[Jason Moore]

I Took a ton of stunt away from him. Yeah. And the thing is, is that argument could be true. But you're not comparing Brandon Marshall to a bunch of other stalwart pass catchers. You're comparing him to Jaron Brown, who by the way, was terrible last year from a catch percentage standpoint. And then unproven football standpoint. Yeah. And unproven players like Darbo and others.

[Andy Holloway]

So I think better or worse at this point than Paul Richardson last departure.

[Jason Moore]

Look, Brandon Marshall is. I'm three days younger than Brandon Marshall.

Oh, so congratulations.

I'm just saying that's where he's at.

I will say, number one, let's see Brandon Marshall make the team. First of all, I don't think that's a guarantee at this point. I'm not taking anything away from Doug Baldwin. For me, this is. This just could put a hindrance on the sleeper potential of Tyler Lockett and Morrow Darbo. But more so for, for Lockett, who seemed like he was, pardon my pun, locked in as the wide receiver too.

I will not pardon. I will accept that pun. It was great.

Yeah, he was the player I moved the most. Yeah. Because I know when we talked about Tyler Lockett on the show, I just didn't see him as somebody that can really be much above the 45, 50, 55 catch range. So I had put him a little higher, you guys. Well, it was, you know, he was.

The only guy left.

[Jason Moore]

And that's how you do it. That's why in the offseason, that's why the. This is not just a blatant prop up of the ultimate draft kit. But whatever draft research you do, it doesn't matter whether it's the UDK or anything else. Stuff changes day by day when DEZ Bryant signs somewhere. And if, if he signs somewhere and you have to readjust your depth chart someplace, you have to make adjustments right now. You project players a certain way and you take chances on. Hey, I hope that team stays the way they are because it means a ton of targets for Michael Crabtree. But if Baltimore signed DEZ Bryant tomorrow, I'm not going to feel the same way about Michael Crabtree. And that neither should you.

And my favorite thing is, you know, the draft board and the mock drafts and all the things you do over there, they just get better every single week. You always see one of those. My favorite thing as a former tech guy is seeing those change logs come up where they're adding three or four new features. It's happening all the time. They have dynasties over there now. Dynasty leagues. All right, well, we're going to get into it. Lay of the land here. 12 team mock draft. Jason. Well, we, we randomized position. Jason's in the three spot.

Here I'd be deciding between Ezekiel Elliott and David Johnson. I think Ezekiel Elliott this year is undervalued. I honestly do. But I love in a half point PPR David Johnson. I'm going to take him every day at the third pick spot here. So that's my draft selection.

All right. Jason went with David Johnson. Next pick was Antonio Brown. Then Ezekiel Elliott, Alvin Camara and DeAndre Hopkins goes at 107 half point per reception league. I feel like that is helpful to me.

Yes. I can get behind that. I will say this. When, when I've been. We were talking about this this morning at stupid outdoor pickleball that I hate this. I hate the 107 right now. This year. That's the spot. Because I feel like there's five elite running backs. I want a piece of the five that just came off the board as well as Antonio Brown. And then that seventh spot is okay, do you go Hopkins, Odell? Do you look running back? But that's the. That's the break where I.

[Mike Wright]

So I feel like the break is right where I am at the nine spot.

[Jason Moore]

Well, I'm going to make. I'll probably make it easy for you. I think we're both facing the same predicament here. Mike, who do you want?

That's always good advice. Always ask the person after you who they want. They'll tell you the truth.

And then I'm going to take Saquon Barkley. I think the temptation there is seeing Odell Beckham Jr's name on the board. It's certainly a perception league. I assume Mike's going to take him, but I stick to my guns and that generally means drafting a running back. Mike.

Yeah, and I went with Odell Beckham. He is the. He is my top tier wide receiver of right now. I have Brown, Hopkins and Beckham in that top tier. To be fair, Antonio Brown probably should be his own. But I got those three guys very close together and I was hoping that on the way back I was going to grab kind of my favorite running back. Unfortunately, four of the next six picks were running backs, including Fournette. Kareem Hunt. Andy's personal favorite. Kareem Hunt rising up his draft rapidly. Melvin Gordon and Dalvin Cook.

This is why I took a running back. Just for the record.

No, I took a running back. I took the gamble here because I.

Knew Mike was going to draft twice. And this happens in your league, too. You're going to have somebody. If they're drafting around you, you know their tendencies. I was worried that if I went Odell Beckham Jr. I would see five, six great running backs off the board. Mike could double up on running back and I would not have a guy near the tier of Saquon Barkley. Mike went with Beckham Jr. Those four guys off the board, Julio and Michael Thomas with the second and third pick of the second round. And now Mike's facing some tough decisions.

I am certainly struggling over here because I don't. I don't like leaving my first two rounds without a running back. But the wide receivers left are. They are.

They're a tier above.

[Mike Wright]

They're a Tier above for me, honestly.

You know, I look at the draft board and I. The 12 spot actually looks pretty good. If I could leave the first two rounds of Melvin Gordon, Dalvin Cook.

Yeah, I would feel good about that. So who you. Who are you going with?

But. So I took back on my first pick. I took Keenan Allen with. With my second pick. I'm going to have to shoot for some running back upside a little bit later, but I know I've got receptions covered.

And it's interesting. I see a lot of wide receivers that I would be pretty happy with, but none that are standing out as the far and above now. Devonte Adams is there.

Keenan Allen was in that.

He was the bottom of the second tier for me, so I got a tier one and a tier two wide receiver. Feel pretty good about that.

So, Mike, your team is Odell Beckham Jr. And Keenan Allen. I have Saquon Barkley and I have a tough decision to make. I think I'm going to do the inverse of you. I think I'm going to go double running back. I have hopes of who will get there in the third round, but right now I'm staring at Devonta Freeman, Lashawn McCoy, Christian McCaffrey. I like all three of those guys.

I think so. I think so. And A.J. green is there, Mike Evans is there, but I don't have enough. I haven't talked myself into Devonte Adams becoming, you know, a favorite of mine like he is Jason's. That takes years. That takes years. And I'm just not willing, you know.

A lot of, lot of good players there. But to me, I still believe in A.J. green. I think A.J. green is an elite wide receiver. I think the Bengals as a whole will be a better offense this year. And if I compare David Johnson and A.J. green, I'm going to do it. And so I did it.

So I'm on the clock. After I picked A.J. green, Jordan Howard, Joe Mix and Derek Henry and Mike Evans went. That to me says there is basically two wide receivers and one running back that I still absolutely love on the board. Jerick McKinnon, Doug Baldwin and Adam Thielen. I would be stoked to have any one of those at this spot. Usually I'm going to take the running back in that situation when they're the same tier and I go, hey, load up on running backs. Those are, you know, they deplete quicker. But I'm going to zig here a little bit. Knowing how many running backs have already come off the board. I assume wide receivers, maybe some quarterbacks will start going and I like some of the later running backs this year. I'm going to test that theory and I'm going to take Adam Thielen, who is at the top of my rankings when it comes to wide receivers left. I think he's a student.

Okay. All right. After you took Adam Thielen, so you pair him with Green and then David Johnson, your stalwart RB1, Tyreek Hill went. Jerick McKinnon went. I really wish he could have slipped to me.

Aaron Rodgers, first quarterback off the board at 306. Doug Baldwin at 307. And I have a strange team because I don't normally have a tight end at this point, obviously Saquon Barkley and Rob Gronkowski. And I'm sitting here and I'm trying to think through. Now, I know Mike is not going to take a wide receiver next, and if he does, speak for yourself, that's okay with me, but that's my presumption is that I'm going to Avoid Mike stealing a wide receiver. So the question is, is do I grab a running back? But I don't see any that I adore and love and I don't really feel like going for Rashad Penny here. Just pairing another rookie with Barkley, that would be kind of up there on my list of guys. This is the hard part about doing it with three different owners, by the way, is I want to bring to light the players I'm considering without letting.

Oh yeah, no, you got to know. They got to let the people know.

I think I am going to end up. I think I'm going to end up taking a wide receiver here. That's the truth. I'm going to take Ty Hilton. I'm unbelievable in Andrew Luck returning. I think Ty Elton is going to be a solid wide receiver, one with Andrew Luck. So we'll put Mike on the clock.

Well, that made my draft pick very easy because I've already got the two wide receivers. You are correct. I would prefer to go with a running back. And there is still a guy on the board. You actually mentioned his name who has the potential, I think to be a running back one. His head coach, Pete Carroll is always talking, already talking him up as a three down guy. We talked about the effect of Brandon Marshall on the.

I know he wouldn't get past you guys all the way back to me. But Rashad Penny's my guy. You should do me a solid and let him. Let him come.

And you wanted to talk about. Okay here. The Jimmy Graham role as Brandon Marshall. No, the Jimmy Graham role this year is Rashad Penny.

Before you make. That doesn't make any sense.

They potentially could. Yes, they potentially could. They will. But when you talk about a Jimmy Graham role, I think 99 out of 100 people are thinking about a player that's, you know, going to go compete for a jump ball or go line up. I mean you're talking about somebody that will maybe play a role in the red zone. I understand that.

[Mike Wright]

Not just red zone but a two yard zone.

[Jason Moore]

Do you make anything. There's a good time to ask the question. Do you make anything up? Look, a lot of talk lately you talk about Pete Carroll, Seahawks camp, the hype for Rashad Penny, CJ Pro size, getting some hype right now. Healthy, added some weight when he's been available. It's been a good thing for the seat.

[Andy Holloway]

That was a very good game.

I agree. I agree.

[Mike Wright]

I think it was two.

[Jason Moore]

I want to bring him forward because, look, it's impossible to expect most teams to give everything to one guy. And whether Rashad Penny is capable of it, whether they want to work him to that degree, whether or not they have loyalty. We've seen teams do this time and time again, show loyalty to players that have been there and fought through things. CJ Pro Size was a draft selection of Pete Carroll.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah.

[Jason Moore]

You also have. They brought back what they brought back Mike Davis. They brought. They still have Chris Carson.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah. There are no running backs in the league that get 100% of the carries. I mean, Leonard Fournette came in, got a ton of carries, but TJ Yilden was used. You know, Chris Ivory was used, so someone else will be. And C.J. prosis is there. But oftentimes when you see players drafted with, you know, a high draft stock who in college were the complete dominant workhorse, I mean, they were the centerpiece of their team as Rashad Penny was for San Diego, you know, I think that's what they're. They're saying, I wanted to draft a guy who can take volume.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah. I think the amount of question marks around Sonny Michelle's workload should definitely exist around Rashad Penny's. Yeah, he's got a worse.

[Andy Holloway]

That's exactly. My point, though, is if you look at college, Rashad Penny was a workhorse in college, whereas Sony Michelle was a second back in college.

[Jason Moore]

So was Christian McCaffrey, and he didn't get the whole backfield last year. And he was drafted at number, what, seven? And he had to share with. With Christian McCaffrey.

[Andy Holloway]

You're saying in college.

[Mike Wright]

In college was a workhorse.

[Jason Moore]

He was a monster.

[Andy Holloway]

My point is Christian McCaffrey was drafted at number seven and he shared a backfield last year. Even though he was a workhorse just like Rashad Penny was, he shared it with Jonathan Stewart. Well, that's a perfect example of what I'm saying. All right, so, Mike, you're on the clock. Odell Beckham Jr. Keenan Allen. Rashad Penny, where are you going here with this fourth pick?

So right now, the.

It's going to be a. Wait for you until your next pick.

It will be a long wait for me. I'm going with the feel. The feeling of there's been a lot of Running backs already drafted. Looking at the board it's actually somewhat. Even the guys that I do like though are running back or rookie running backs at this point and I don't their names are guys like Darius Geiss and Sony Michelle are at the top of my, my list here. But I don't know if I want to inherit that amount of risk with my third and fourth round.

[Jason Moore]

Same decision I made when I didn't take Rashad Penny. I had sake on Barclay. I didn't want to pair him necessarily.

[Mike Wright]

Exactly. So it's. I'm going to sound like a broken record because I'm going to talk him up all off season and the fourth round I think is a little bit early than earlier than most will have to draft and he'll probably be available in that fifth round. But Larry Fitzgerald, last three years, 100 plus receptions, thousand plus yards. I think that he is good for that. I can throw him into my flex. So my I have Beckham, Keenan Allen, Larry Fitz, three of my top three tiered wide receivers and now I feel like I can pound running back and just try and get someone to hit for my running back too.

[Jason Moore]

And you have more flexibility with that strategy being a half point per reception league or a full point league than maybe you feel like you do in a standard league.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah.

[Mike Wright]

And in a standard I wouldn't do this.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah. Because you can find a guy with value and so now it's going to be very interesting. I've got to make a decision here. I have Saquon Barkley, Rob Gronkowski and Ty Hilton and I am staring down a double up on the wide receiver position. I'm actually going to draft Josh Gordon and pair him with Ty Hilton and I'm going to take a strategy similar to you, Mike. We've both gone three non running backs which is a little atypical.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah.

[Jason Moore]

But we're going to see what rolls around. Kenyon Drake goes next, Alex Collins who was almost my pick.

[Andy Holloway]

Alex Collins was the player that I was hoping would get to me. I've got David Johnson, AJ Green, Adam Thielen. If Collins got to me it was an easy pick.

[Jason Moore]

Alan Robinson, alshon Jeffrey at 408, 409. Jason, you're on the clock.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah, I'm on the clock. As you know, when it comes to team needs running back is where I would look. David Johnson is my only running back right now. I've got two stud wide receivers. The three main tight ends that are the only three worth considering early are already off the board. I'm not. I'm never looking quarterback early, but the way that I will approach this.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah. What I was going to say is the two teams that are going ahead of you.

[Andy Holloway]

Yes, that's what I was going to say. There's only one wide receiver selected by the two teams in between me and my next pick at all. They've, you know, so they're talking three running backs.

[Jason Moore]

Two running backs. There's a good chance of running back slides around to you.

[Andy Holloway]

Exactly. So I will be focusing here now that Alex Collins is gone on a wide receiver. When I look at my board, there's a guy that I don't like to take this early. I don't like to take where he is in his adp. Even though my rankings say he is worth it, he's 100% worth it. I mean, I believe in him. I love him to death, but I don't ever want to take him in his adp because usually that puts him as my wide receiver too. And there is risk there. But oh, my goodness, a star has been born. And if I've already got A.J. green and Adam Thielen, I do not mind JuJu Smith Schuster as my wide receiver. 3. I'll take them all day and see what happens.

[Jason Moore]

I think the most shocking part of that is that he's selected ahead of a guy like Brandon Cooks. But that is showing the difference in kind of what you expect and know from a player versus the unknown of Brandon Cooks. I know we've all seen the.

[Andy Holloway]

I'm the resident anti cook sir here. I don't like any chefs.

[Jason Moore]

Right.

[Andy Holloway]

I guess it's not true.

[Jason Moore]

That's not true whatsoever. You like all chefs.

I want to know who it Is, oh, I don't want you to take mine.

Would I prefer Royce Freeman or Sony Michelle? I think with my roster, I'm going to shoot for the moon here. I'm going to go with highest upside, not just safest win a championship. And that to me is still Sony Michelle.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah, I was kind of hoping he may slip back to me because my decision making process, as opposed to taking Sonny Michelle where I thought about him, which was 308, which makes him at 503 an incredible value. Jason, thank you. You're just a master of predicting the future. But I'm willing to take a chance on doubling up on my rookies with a guy like Barkley who's not going to, he doesn't have the inherent risk of other rookies. I'm sitting here at 508, by the way. After Michelle went Jimmy Graham, Jarvis, Landry, Golden Tate and Mark Ingram. So somebody waiting for that. Games five through 16.

I'm looking at Darius Geist and I'm looking at Ronald Jones in this half point league with what they invested in Jones and what I believe they actually have in the backfield. I'm going to take Ronald Jones, I'm going to take him at 508 and he's going to be my partner in crime with Saquon Barkley. You've heard me talk about Ronald Jones this offseason. I'm a big fan. I believe he'll succeed there with the other weapons that defenses will have to account for behind Jameis Winston. And so my roster is Barkley Jones and then I have Hilton and Gordon with Rob Gronkowski. Mike, you're on the clock.

So reminder, I have Odell Beckham Jr. Keenan Allen, Rashad Penny, and then I went with Larry Fitz over another rookie running back because I wanted just a little bit more safety in that fourth round pick. I wanted to know what I was going to get. I'm at the back of the fifth round and the way that Andy feels about Ronald Jones. Rojo or Rojo, which, whichever you want to call him, that's exactly how I feel about Darius Geist. I love the player. I love the situation. Personally, I, I get that Chris Thompson is going to take third down work, but honestly, who doesn't get third down work? Take it. It's just, it's very rare.

Le'Veon Bell.

[Mike Wright]

Right. But I didn't have the first pick, so unfortunately I could not draft Levy on Bell. I think that Darius Geist is a running back too. And I think that he has the upside if the touchdowns come for him to be a low end running back one. So then after that happened I took Geist. So my. My starting lineup is essentially secured aside from quarterback and tight end after guys. Tom Brady, Carlos Hyde, Greg Olson, Michael Crabtree, Evan Ingram, Tevin Coleman and then so that was the turn. I am already back up and I am struggling here to. To make a decision. There are. There's a couple wide receivers here that I that I'm pretty fond of.

Who are some of the guys you're thinking about at this point?

[Mike Wright]

And I like. I know Jason doesn't like him, but I still really like Pierre Garcon. This season we you brought up on the show. I missed on Tuesday that we made a dynasty trade. I gave up the future and a potential upside. That is Corey Clement.

[Jason Moore]

Yes.

For what I consider the known wide receiver to reception.

The very present.

Yes. Of Pierre Garcon. But then there's a guy who finished last year as a wide receiver one staring me in the face.

There's no chance that he would possibly make it back.

And that is Marvin Jones, wide receiver from the Detroit Lions.

You are staring down a fourth wide receiver pick in your first six. But the value on Marvin Jones was so good you couldn't pass.

No. What's the ceiling of Marvin Jones a wide receiver one. We just saw it happen. I don't know if that's not in my projected outcome for him because he was so efficient with huge plays and 50, 50 balls. I mean you can look at Marvin Jones in the ultimate draft kick. Matt Harmon breaks down his reception perception of how often is he getting open on routes. And Marvin Jones is honestly was not very successful of getting separation but he was just so good. He's very tall at that 50, 50 ball that he was able to come through.

[Jason Moore]

All right. I went with the perfect counter punch to Ty Hilton and Josh Gordon, especially in a half point. I want Julian Edelman here in the sixth round. The likely target monster for Tom Brady this season. I feel like he's a nice match with Hilton and Gordon who could combine for the amount of catches that Edelman ends up with. And so I went with Edelman to join my roster. We've seen Brady by the way went at the end of the fifth round, then Breeze went after Edelman and then Carson Wentz went with the eighth pick of the Sixth round. So we have seen Rogers, Watson, Wilson, Brady Brees and Wentz off the board at the quarterback position. And then Dion Lewis goes one pick ahead of. Yeah.

[Andy Holloway]

Oh, that was terrible.

[Jason Moore]

Now you made the heads up choice of Sony Michelle over Dion Lewis yesterday on the show and you had to make that choice today in the draft and you went with Michelle and you could have had them both.

[Andy Holloway]

But yeah, Dion Lewis was again who I was hoping would drop to me. I mean, if I had my, you know, extra magic pick, I would have had Alex Collins over Sony Michelle and I would have had Dion Lewis over the player that I am drafting here, who I almost drafted over Sony Michelle last round in Royce Freeman. I think that, you know, between David Johnson, Royce Freeman and Sony Michelle, I've got a solid running back core. AJ Green, Adam Thielen, JuJu Smith, Schuster. You know, I'm very, very happy with the roster all the way around. Now I look at, maybe I do actually consider, just consider a tight end. Kyle Rudolph Hunter, Kyle Rudolph off the board. Evan Ingram off the board. Greg Olson, Zach Ertz, Jimmy Graham. So now I'm getting down to the point where, you know, Delaney Walker, Tyler Ifer, George Kittle. I don't really like any of those guys. And if I was in a home league with a bunch of dumb guys, I would wait later for Trey Burton. Honey, you know, Honey boo Boo, Honey boo Boo. But the truth is, oh, no, I just don't see Trey Burton getting back to me. Even though Andy took Gronk, I think Mike would take him later. This is really early for me to take a tight end, but I see a clear tear break here. So I am going.

I think what you see is my roster and you know, you're not going to compete with me on a weekly basis unless you can compete with Gronkowski.

Holy tight ends.

Yeah, I started a tight end run.

Yeah, the tight end started flying off the board. We did see Kirk Cousins go, but Jordan Reed and Tyler Ifert, both guys that we look at as late round value sleepers, late round values. This isn't late enough for me probably, but Reed and Eifert both go and I'm on the clock. My team right now. Saquon Barkley and Ronald Jones are the running backs. Hilton Gordon Edelman at wide receiver.

Don't take my guy.

And Rob Gronkowski. Now. I, I'm having a tough time deciding between running back and wide receiver at this point. Some running backs, I would consider.

Whatever you do, don't take a wide receiver.

I would consider Isaiah Crowell, I would consider Tariq Cohen in a half point league. Somebody I think has a lot of potential this year. Those are the guys that I'm staring down at the running back position at wide receiver. I see Corey Davis and he's. He's just sitting there staring at me, saying, hey, do you actually believe in me?

[Mike Wright]

Yeah.

[Jason Moore]

Do you actually believe in me, Andy? Because you said you do. And my ADP is the first. The second pick of the second round. And now you're here at the eighth pick of the seventh round and I'm gonna take him. Corey Davis, come on down.

So this is a pro tip for those out there. If you are doing a live draft and you are ever trying to get into the head of which you did not, well, maybe not be confirmed or to know. Yeah, maybe because I. I wanted you to not draft a running back. So.

Well, I give Andy credit enough to know that you had four wide receivers. And we're being sarcastic, but if you go with the.

We're in the back of the seventh round. So at this point, I am considering this an extreme value. I have some unknown running backs and this running back, it is very known what he can do. He is very long in the tooth. I do not by any means any credence to this nonsense Doug Martin hype. I didn't want anything to do with him last year.

But Marshawn lynch in the back of the seventh. I would have even taken Marshawn lynch in the sixth. I strongly considered him over Marvin Jones.

Now, see, I do buy some of the Doug Martin things.

I do not. You always want to buy into Doug Martin.

[Jason Moore]

That is correct.

I love the back of the seventh round. Getting any.

A starting running back, running back, and.

Then you're getting a guy.

But why? Okay, this is what's important about these shows. Why Marshawn lynch over a guaranteed starter in Isaiah Cruell, they're both on on teams that, you know, we're unsure of what the offense is going to be. But Crowell was just paid. Doug Martin was just paid. It wasn't Lynch.

Why not the both.

[Jason Moore]

It was Doug Martin and Doug Martin's 29 years old. Marshawn Lynch 34.

Because Marshawn lynch it still showed that he is sensitive.

He was great last year when they actually gave him the opportunity and he had. There's still a very solid offensive line in the interior. They are a great run blocking line. John Grudem at least by all accounts wants to run the ball and I while Isaiah Crowell is going to provide value and I think he is absolutely worth a draft, I actually believe in Marshawn Lynch. I'm not just drafting a starting running back who should get touches. I'm drafting a guy that I think has that he 7 to 8 touchdown potential, 8 to 900 yards on the ground in the seventh round a to provide an actual stable force to my running back position. So I'm extremely happy.

[Jason Moore]

All right. Hogan, Garcon, Garoppolo, Cohen, Funches and Burkhead were the next off the board.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah. So my team now at this point is fully balanced. I have, well, not fully balanced but I've very close with my wide receivers and running backs. I do like to. I do prefer to leave my draft with more running backs than I do wide receivers. I'm going to take a look over at the tight end position. The best guys available in ADP are Jack, Doyle, Kittle, Howard. After that run, I just have little to no interest in drafting any of.

[Jason Moore]

These guys or even playing against Jason and I with Burton and Gronkowski, I mean I would probably just resign.

[Mike Wright]

Fair enough. Except one of the guys who I still have as a tight end one is on the board and will be on the board for quite some time and that is Vance McDonald. I've always been doing the no pants Vance dance. You can make the face.

[Jason Moore]

Oh no, I will make the face and you will not stop me. It's one thing to say, hey, he's a sleeper. It's another thing to say, let's just lock him in.

[Andy Holloway]

Yes.

[Jason Moore]

Because you could dump him in two weeks.

[Mike Wright]

Oh yeah, certainly could.

But at least you're not paying the price.

[Mike Wright]

But I'm going to draft him late. There's the reports out of Pittsburgh are already very positive and featuring him. I know it's super small sample size, but you go through this list of tight Ends. Can any of them in a playoff game be a 12 target, 10 reception, 100 plus yard guy? And I think the answer to that is a firm no.

[Jason Moore]

I think Charles Clay is a better pick.

[Andy Holloway]

Wow.

Charles Clay.

I think Charles. Charles Clay, I think he's a much better pick than Vance McDonald. Well, I mean a much.

So at this point, eighth round, I'm starting to take some, some upside shots which at the wide receiver position, Will Fuller, if you want to buy into what Watson was doing, Manny Sanders, bounce back and Robbie Anderson, those are the three guys that I am looking at at the wide receiver position and at running back. This is the time if you want to believe in Marlon Mack or Aaron Jones is actually the other running back.

[Jason Moore]

A lot of Naim Heinz talk today. A lot of Jordan Wilkins talk today. Not surprised considering what Marlon Mack is. But the starter.

[Andy Holloway]

So they talk about the backups.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah, Fair. And the whispers from the bushes that I have heard out of Green Bay concerning Aaron Jones are. It's. It could be a full time share to start, but by the end of the season, you will wish that you had Aaron Jones on your roster. And that's exactly how I felt coming into draft season.

[Andy Holloway]

I don't personally think that, but the people that I trust the most from Green Bay do share that opinion. So that's. I mean, I don't hope that happens because I think time Montgomery should get the crack. But my opinion doesn't matter as to the outcome and the opinions that do. I. I hear the same things. Mike.

[Jason Moore]

So Mike took Aaron Jones. I went with Isaiah Crowell for the same reason that Mike took Marshawn lynch the round before. I need to solidify a roster that much like Mike. Mike, you had Penny and Geist. I have Barkley and Jones. And we both needed a bruiser that we could count on if we needed a week and we needed a starter. You went Lynch, I went Crowell, Fuller, Montgomery, Jamal, Williams. So you had Montgomery and Jamal Williams and Aaron Jones all go in the eighth round, which tells you as of today, nobody knows what the heck's going to happen at the Green Bay backfield when three running backs go in the same round. And then Emmanuel Sanders went. I'm sure Mike, you're hoping he'd slide back.

[Mike Wright]

I was hoping, yes.

[Jason Moore]

Did you end up just skipping your pick? Oh, yeah. You did. You took Smash Jack Maxson.

[Andy Holloway]

Yes, Smash Maxson. I am a believer in Marlon Mack. I think in the eighth round. Back of the eighth round. Yeah, I don't mind Zero risk and I have the chance to get the starting running back for the Andrew Luck led Colts. There's a lot of things that need to fall into place there.

[Mike Wright]

Like Andrew Luck.

[Andy Holloway]

That was one of them. Yes, absolutely. But in the back of the eighth round, I mean, that's value I absolutely can't pass up. Then it comes to roster construction. I'm looking for a wide receiver for sure. Still too early for me to grab a quarterback. My running backs I feel confident with and my wide receivers are good. AJ Green, Adam Thielen, Juju. I'm very happy. So when I look at the guys that were on the board at wide receiver, I see a lot of guys where it's like I'm pretty confident they're going to do some stuff. You know, Jameson Crowder's out there, Calvin Benjamin. But I want the.

[Jason Moore]

You don't want a guy that's just going to do some stuff.

[Mike Wright]

Exactly.

[Andy Holloway]

I want the chance when I'm drafting my fourth wide receiver and back for something special to happen. And you know, while I put the chance at less than 50%, if your quarterback is Aaron Rodgers, then there is a chance that Randall Cobb, after Jordy Nelson leaves town, ends up with 8, 9, 10 touchdowns and is actively involved in the passing game. I'm going to take him here.

[Jason Moore]

All right. After Randall Cobb, which I think is a good pick here in the ninth round, great value. Legarett Blunt. We saw our first defense go off the board. Marquis Goodwin, Devonte Parker. And here I took very similar philosophy. I actually took Andrew Luck all in with the eighth pick in the ninth round. I'm a Ty Hilton owner in this draft and at this point with my confidence in the ability to stream a quarterback, I'm staring down Andrew Luck or I'm staring down Matthew stafford here. The two quarterbacks that I think can give me top five production if they're healthy. I went Andrew Luck simply 100% because I have Ty Hilton and I want the stack in this, on this lineup. If Luck doesn't pan out, if he's not going to play, I'm going to pivot. I'm going to go take, I don't know, Jameis Winston or Dak Prescott or Pat Mahomes or Matt Ryan or fill in the gap with somebody else that's going to be sitting there on waivers as a one quarterback league. And so I took Andrew Luck. I want the highest upside with this pick.

[Andy Holloway]

I like it. You'll win the votes on the names, the big names, awards. Honestly, I do like the pick. I think your logic holds up. I don't have anything because it was.

[Jason Moore]

The same logic you just had. So that's good that it held up.

[Andy Holloway]

So I'm on the clock. And if you can rewind and check the names I mentioned before, I selected Aaron Jones and one of those was wide receiver Robbie Anderson.

I considered him with Randall Cop.

[Mike Wright]

I fully expect regression to happen to Robbie Anderson. But the ceiling is there at the back of the ninth round and my wide receivers are very sturdy. I mean, they, they are not going to tip over. They are fully balanced, fully symmetrical with Odell Beckham, Keenan Allen, Larry Fitz and Marvin Jones. I can, I can take that upside of Robbie Anderson. Maybe I'll be able to flip him around later on in the season.

[Jason Moore]

All right, you're back on the clock, Mike. After Anderson went the Rams, Benjamin Foreman, Big Ben and Rivers both went. So, Mike, if you were thinking about quarterback, you don't get Big Ben or Rivers.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah, it's a little bit disappointing that Big Ben went there on the turn because he. I'm in that quarterback range now with three picks and tight end kicker and defense allocated to OR five picks. Three of those are tight end, kicker, defense and I need a tight end. Wait, did I just double up on the tight end? Whatever.

[Jason Moore]

So the quarterbacks, you still need a tight end, kicker and defense. Thank you. And a quarterback.

[Mike Wright]

The quarterbacks available, Matthew Stafford. This is why we wait, ladies and gentlemen. Matthew Stafford. Matt Ryan. I'm not taking Derek Carr, Pat Mahomes, Mario to Dak. Jamis, Alex Smith, Case Keenum. There are just so many delightful options here and I, I'm going to surprise myself a little bit because I don't like him. Nearly send in the car. No, you will not mind meld me into trapp.

Whatever you do, don't draft Derek Carlo.

[Jason Moore]

Whatever you do, don't draft any Oakland Raider quarterbacks.

[Mike Wright]

If it doesn't work out, no harm done. But I'm going to take a high upside play there before I have to turn to defense and kicker and such.

Yeah. At this point I will look at the quarterback position. There's. There's two guys here that I really love. I love both of them for this season. Ironically, they were once the 1 and 2. Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota. Really like these players this year. I guess the truth is I don't want Jameis Winston start so I'm going to actually take Marks Mariota.

Gross.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah.

[Jason Moore]

I feel like that is still a win for us, Mike, because I feel like we pushed him into a quarterback pick there. I feel great because we took Luck and Stafford but at least he took Marcus Mariota. So I feel good for many reasons.

Yeah. Would you rather have me have taken Jameis Winston or someone else? Because guess what, I'm actually pulling the double up because I really believe in Winston but I don't like his opening schedule. I'm going to grab Mariota and Winston and I promise between the two of those guys I'm going to have a top six streamed option through the season. I'm super happy with that and it.

Makes me happy too because two picks that I don't care about happened in between my pick and this next one on the board. So I'm definitely going to go wide receiver. I've only got three and so I'm staring down the likes of Alan Hearns taking a shot with the Dallas wide receiver core. Not a bad pick here, I don't think.

Danny Amendola in Miami, half point league potential high PPR guy. Desean Jackson, could you get a bounce back? Michael Gallup, he's an option. Paul Richardson in Washington, a lot of different options at this point, I think I am going to actually go with Danny Amendola. I'm going to buy into a little bit of the.

Not projecting that, but he was already getting snaps with the ones he was the red zone guy. He had turned into the pass catcher. Will that hold up with Darren Sproul's back? So Corey Clement. Lots murky. But the upside is so tremendous.

Because if he does, if he does win the job, then I've picked a starting running back with my final pick in Doug Martin, Pat Mahomes. I've got Marlon Mack, the opportunity for him to make some noise, and then a wide receiver strong with AJ Green, Adam Thielen, JuJu Smith Schuster, Randall Cobb and smooth routes. Kenny Golladay. Oh, that's so smooth. And then of course, my first and second. What was that? 2015 first and second draft picks. Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston at quarterback. And then too bad you can't play.

Him at the same time and get like one quarterback's worth of value.

Now, before you make any sort of initial ruling, Brooks, this is a great time to remind our listeners that when you're mock drafting wherever it is and you get that grade from, you know, whatever it is, maybe Yahoo gives you that post draft grade and you're feeling a little down and out. Don't care about it, don't worry about it. Now of course, if Brooks chooses me, the grade after the draft is the most important thing.

But the truth is the only reason for the double up is because I love Winston and I hate his opening schedule. So Mariota might be gone soon, but I love it.
