Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast coming to you from Draft.com Studios with your hosts Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright.
Mike Wright
Ah, we're doing another show. Another show still going 5:30. This is show 530. Doesn't it feel more like five? Doesn't it feel more like 535 or something at least? No, that's not a joke. That's the real number according to what Brooks put in the the show doc here.
Jason Moore
And what a special show it is, a Browns special.
Mike Wright
It's taking us 530 shows to do.
Jason Moore
A Brown special to finally discuss so what Brooks did and shout out to the judge, Judge Giamatti, him himself, Brooks like a professional. And you can go to the YouTube to view this. He gathered all of because we collect NFL memorabilia and he collected all of our Browns memorabilia and put it front and center on.
Andy Holloway
It's all on display right now.
Jason Moore
You go check it out on YouTube and you can see all of our good work. Browns love it.
Mike Wright
Took me a long time did it get it all. Set it up.
Jason Moore
Check it out.
Mike Wright
Where's my Hugh Jackson autograph picture? Did we not get that in yet? That was the final blow to Gus Bradley. Was I purchased on ebay?
Andy Holloway
Well, if you want $6 guys, if you want an autographed picture of a coach who will need a job next season, you can go ahead and buy one for Hugh Jackson.
Mike Wright
Let's just. We'll get to that. We'll get to the Browns part of the show very soon. We have tons of news. In fact, we're recording this around 5:30 Eastern Time on Monday afternoon and evening. So there will likely be some news that we don't talk about on the show. And the good thing is show 531 is coming on Thursday.
Andy Holloway
So there's another one.
Mike Wright
We'll talk about it.
Jason Moore
I will say this, that show makes sure you don't miss because that will be the real signings that the NFL free agency period. Right now we're in the ridiculous tampering time where they can talk, they can flirt a little.
Mike Wright
Rumors team.
Jason Moore
Oh no, it's a blast. But I'm just saying the packers are going to sign everybody on Thursday, Thursday's show. We're going to start actually having legitimate real news for you.
Mike Wright
So yeah, it's going to be great. Well, probably fair warning, the Thursday show will probably be out a little later in the morning than normal because we're gonna wait. We're probably gonna record it Thursday morning.
Jason Moore
Correct.
Mike Wright
So that way we have the latest and greatest by way of news. So what else is going on? The Ultimate Draft Kit. You can get that on pre sale right now. Ultimate Draft kit dot com. It's gonna be great. Once again, Matt Harmon's already dropping some of that reception perception knowledge. The James Washington article is either out or will be out by the time you hear this. Footclangiveaway.com we're giving away a signed Todd Gurley in Lev Bell jersey so you can check that out. And what else is going on? We're gonna do a show after the show today.
Jason Moore
What?
Mike Wright
Over on YouTube.
Jason Moore
Yet another reason.
Mike Wright
It's a show that we'll do right after this show. And let's jump into the quick question keeper or I'm sorry, keeping the league fun. That is the name of this question from Nick in San Diego. Real simple. He says, how can I, as a commissioner make sure that my league mates stay active and have a good time throughout the entirety of the year?
Jason Moore
This is, you know, look, this is a question of camaraderie. This is a question of friendship. So I would say first of all, if you can, and there's nothing wrong with an online draft, but if you can always start the league with a live draft, you know, that event, bringing people together, I think it really, it's always a good time. People get to know each other a little bit better while they're all in person. One guy ends up getting made fun of the entire draft. You can rally around that moment and you miss some of that with online drafts, which I look, online draft's still fun, but I think that's, you know, or maybe you put other events but like try to get the humans together. Irl.
Mike Wright
Oh, wow.
Andy Holloway
Well, that's what the kids say.
Mike Wright
Mike, you got anything to contribute there?
Andy Holloway
Know your audience and for some the thing that speaks to them is in fact money. So if you are in a money league and you're not having a weekly payout for high score every single week, that can help keep people motivated because if you only have a prize pool for first through third, if I'm out of the playoffs, you're out. What am I doing?
Mike Wright
Yeah, and you asked the question, you're the commissioner. How can you make it better? I always enjoy doing things like weekly power rankings and writing up articles and writing up Player of the week, the podcast. I say we started this show. Believe it or not, the first podcast Mike and I ever did together was not the fantasy footballers. It was a podcast just for our league so that we could rip on people's trades.
Andy Holloway
That's right. It was fantastic.
Mike Wright
It was okay. It was just okay.
Andy Holloway
I always had a great time doing it.
Mike Wright
That's all that matters.
Jason Moore
News and notes from around the league.
Mike Wright
As opposed to News and notes from Cleveland, which is a completely different segment on today's show.
Andy Holloway
Find your comfy chair.
Jason Moore
This is really. There's a lot of news, news and notes from around the league except Cleveland.
Mike Wright
Right. And then there will be news and notes from around the league only. Ohio, right?
Jason Moore
Right.
Andy Holloway
Ohio.
Mike Wright
Let's start here. The Titans have released DeMarco Murray. He turned 30 in February last year. Not a good year. 184 rushes for 659 yards and just six touchdowns. 3.6 a clip. Not a good year. Banged up throughout the year.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, he had. He had hamstring problems the entirety of the season. And hamstring problems are rough for a player to deal with. It tends to stick around all year. It can screw with your numbers. Now this is, you know, as Derek age and carry. Well, I'm just saying. Derek Henry. Twitter lost their mind upon hearing this news. It's pretty much what everyone expected with the way that his. His contract was structured. But where are you at Jason Moore on. On Derek Henry?
Jason Moore
Look, I love Derek Henry. I talked about that at the beginning of this year. How I was. I was very high on him. But based on what the Titans have done in the past, I just don't believe that they are going to hand the keys to the kingdom over. I expect them to get a third down back. A real good pass catcher. You know, I think on our free agency preview I Talked about Jerick McKinnon or a guy like that signing with the Titans. They are not going to have Derek Henry get the workload including the passing game that DeMarco Murray got. And so I'm RB1 or 2. What's that?
Andy Holloway
RB1 or an RB2?
Jason Moore
I think he will probably be right around that cusp. If I had to bet, I would bet RB2. High end. RB2.
Mike Wright
Yeah. If you put Jerick McKinnon on the team, I think that's your best case scenario for how free agency falls out for Tennessee worst case is if you start talking about Dion Lewis, maybe a Rex Burkhead, somebody that can siphon some first and second down work away. One of the impressive things about Derek Henry, for those of you out there in dynasty leagues that own him are looking to draft him. He had one of the most impressive elusive numbers in the league in the sense that yards after first contact. He was up there with a guy like Deion Lewis. That stiff arm is ferocious. He can do some work if he gets enough carries. The other side is the demarco Murray side. Where. Look, if you're demarco Murray, you're wanting an opportunity to be the guy somewhere. Now, whether another team lets you be the guy somewhere, they won't. We don't know. There are. There are already rumors that he visited the Lions on Monday along with Jonathan Stewart. They might be competing for old running.
Andy Holloway
Back duties in Marco Murray and Jonathan.
Jason Moore
Stewart duty is correct.
Andy Holloway
They're just going to have to go where someone will even give them a contract.
Mike Wright
Speaking of not getting a contract, Cardinals have released Adrian Peterson. Is it possible we've never, we'll never see him carry the ball again?
Jason Moore
No.
Mike Wright
And he goes away without fanfare?
Jason Moore
I don't believe so. He is already putting news out that his neck is fully healed. He wants to prove that he still got it and he's got the name to sell a few tickets or, you know, I think it's going to be similar to last year where he doesn't have a team.
Mike Wright
Last year he was a distraction. Last year he didn't help the Saints. He distracted the Saints from playing the right players for four weeks.
Jason Moore
Look, I agree with you. Yeah, that's what I was saying the offseason.
Mike Wright
I am not saying grimacing on the sidelines.
Jason Moore
I am not saying at all that Adrian Peterson should get a job or should get carries. You asked. Are we ever going to see him carry the ball again? I think we will. I think we shouldn't.
Mike Wright
All right, Mike, this next bit of news, you're very excited.
Andy Holloway
Buccaneers have signed Mike Evans to an extension five year, 82 and a half million dollar contract. But the big news.
Mike Wright
Well, the bigger news. How much was guaranteed?
Andy Holloway
It was 55.
Mike Wright
$55 million. We all believe in Mike Evans and so does Tampa Bay.
Andy Holloway
That's a lot of dollars.
Mike Wright
Speaking of Tampa. Oh, Cameron Bray.
Jason Moore
Oh, man.
Mike Wright
This is the big. So the Mike Evans news is exciting for Mike Evans. None of us were going to discount his fantasy.
Jason Moore
Ability or his long term future. We all knew he's going to get a Big contract. So if you're in Dynasty, whatever, he's good, keep up with it. But if you're in Dynasty, the other Tampa Bay Buccaneer that you think is the future of the passing work there is O.J. howard.
Andy Holloway
There's two actually.
Jason Moore
Sure. But. Oh, I'm just saying. Cameron Brait, which is the news.
Mike Wright
Cameron braid signed a six year, 41 million dollar contract extension. 18 million was guaranteed. He's third in the league in tight end touchdowns over the last three years. Is that correct?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, he was the last two seasons.
Mike Wright
Sorry, sorry. Last two years. And Cameron Brait represents a collective groan for all O.J. howard dynasty owners. Because O.J. howard is super talented. And here we're going to have now the odds of Cameron Braight playing out. Six years there, whatever. That's not going to happen.
Andy Holloway
Right.
Mike Wright
But this does mean he's in the fold. He's paid to be in the fold. Winston loves him. Now O.J. howard's a split and both players are damaged. From a fantasy perspective, who do you draft higher? Brait. Right.
Jason Moore
Well, I would draft Bray higher. OJ Howard will without a doubt be drafted ahead of Cameron Brait because of the upside. But here's the deal. O.J. howard is a phenomenal football player. Football player as in, I would say tight end. He is a great blocker coming out of college. Just incredible. Cameron Brait is not. Cameron Brait is used in the passing game. I mean, he's a touchdown monster for Jameis Winston from fantasy. Cameron Brait is the guy that you want there next year. That's my belief.
Mike Wright
I actually agree with that. I think if you had to pick one of the other, that doesn't mean that Howard's role doesn't expand and it doesn't mean that Brake can be counted on.
Andy Holloway
And it's. Yeah, it's an unknown at this moment because you had. Brait was fantastic to start the year, but absolutely vanished towards the end of the year while O.J. howard was starting to ascend before his injury. I lean. I think I lean Howard right now. If I just have to heads up, take one of them. I think I lean Howard at this moment. But in a redraft. Yeah, but I'm with Jason that I think that the draft price of Howard will probably be at a place where I don't want to spend for him.
Mike Wright
All right. The Bucks have tendered Adam Humphries.
Jason Moore
Oh, how do you pronounce it?
Andy Holloway
Pronounced with an Humphreys. This was the second one I was talking about.
Mike Wright
We were second year or I'm sorry, a second round level.
Andy Holloway
Yes. So he is. He'll get his contract. Almost $3 million. Well, assuming everything goes through. But we were hoping for Chris Godwin to just take over that role and have Adam Humphries not in the mix. So this definitely throws some water on that because with Mike Evans, Desean Jackson and Humphries and Chris Godwin and O.J.
Jason Moore
Howard and Cameron Braid, what this says is next year my quarterback of choice is going to be Jameis Winston. He's going to.
Andy Holloway
I'm just saying this is what it was last year, though.
Jason Moore
But I think. I think injury got in the way of last year's Jameis Winston.
Mike Wright
We've talked. We're all on the same page. We love the value of Jameis Winston in the upcoming 2018 draft. I have not been on the Godwin bandwagon with you guys. I'm not going to gloat over at Adam Humphrey signing to me. Godwin's time will come when desean's is over there and that'll be the opportunity. I don't think it's over there for desean. I think they're going to work with him. He'll have a better year this year. I love desean Jackson as a sleeper, so I don't think Godwin's opportunity will match his talent this year. But let's move on and let's talk about the 49ers. Couple big moves for them. First of all, shout out. Congratulations to Marquis. Great win.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Marquis Goodwin signs a three year $20 million contract extension through 2021. He was their best receiver last year.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I mean, he was good.
Mike Wright
Garcon went down and he played really well.
Jason Moore
I feel like this is a really good signing for the Niners. This is not a lot of money for what Goodwin was doing on the field. So goodwill. Good for you. Good win. Great win.
Mike Wright
Great for you. Great win. So we'll have to see if the 40. Here's the thing, though. If the 49ers make a splash in free agency at the wide receiver position, which I expect them to do as Mike and then they bring Pierre Garcon. You know Garcon.
Andy Holloway
Oh, he's coming back.
Mike Wright
Yes. Yeah. I mean he. Him and Shanahan are. Went out for drinks last night.
Jason Moore
I believe Pierre Garcon is under contract until he's 41 in his contract.
Mike Wright
He's making Buku bucks. What, 12 to 15 million a year.
Andy Holloway
He made a ton of money and he counts head heavily against the cap. I think for the next two to Three years. So he's going to be around.
Mike Wright
Yeah. So I think, I think Goodwin will fill the role that he was meant to fill, which is to stretch the field on each and every play. I mean, he's a speedster, he's an Olympian. That's what he does. He'll be better for Garoppolo than for himself. In fantasy, if Garcon's back, fair point. And somebody else is back. Richard Sherman, cut by the Seahawks, signed by the 49ers almost immediately. Three year deal. Negotiated it himself and he even said he's a. It was a vengeful pick. He wants to play Seattle twice.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I read through an article that kind of. They took a look at the contract and they said Richard Sherman probably should have had some representation. It's really a health based type of contract. We're talking he needs to play every single game and over 90% of the snaps to really make the actual money from this contract.
Mike Wright
Yeah, he gets a bunch of money rolled over if he plays well and he makes the Pro bowl and all that. Yep. But it seems like it matches the bravado of Richard Sherman to bet on yourself to make money and have the incentive there. So. Interesting trade. We bring it up in the context of the fact that now Marcus Peters and Aqeed Talib are on the Rams, the NFC West, Russell Wilson, whomever the Cardinals brings in, Jared Goff and company. Look, it's going to be a competitive division.
Andy Holloway
Well, Jared Goff luckily doesn't have to.
Mike Wright
Play against Talib or Peters, but he, he'll take on Sherman. Patrick Peterson is in the division. It's going to be a very interesting one for pass. For passers.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I mean, you could sum it up by just saying it's a terrible time to be a Cardinals fan.
Andy Holloway
Yes, very much so.
Jason Moore
Everything.
Andy Holloway
Very much.
Jason Moore
All the teams in your division.
Andy Holloway
To be fair, there's. There's whispers in the bushes. Yeah, these are strong. I mean, these are confirmed, verified.
Jason Moore
Oh, man.
Andy Holloway
Whispers because.
Mike Wright
No, that's for you, Mike.
Jason Moore
Oh.
Andy Holloway
Breaking news. We hear this is from the mouth of Ian Rapaport. We do hear the Arizona Cardinals have a chance. They have a shot because allegedly Kirk Cousins sister lives around town, lives in Phoenix.
Mike Wright
So done deal. I look family. I also have it on.
Andy Holloway
That's great. Kirk Cousins, family man. Show the world what you are made of.
Mike Wright
I have it on good authority he once traveled through Phoenix on a family vacation and especially loved the vending machines we had in the local area.
Andy Holloway
He hit up Rawhide and Old Tucson all The hits, the Grand Canyon.
Mike Wright
All the hits.
Jason Moore
The Grand Canyon.
Mike Wright
We bring all the hits here in Arizona.
Jason Moore
All right, this just in. Kirk Cousins brother in law also lives in Phoenix. Oh, if he has a brother. If, if he has a brother in law.
Andy Holloway
You're making a lot of assumptions.
Jason Moore
I'm just saying if the sister's married.
Mike Wright
I'm excited about this.
Jason Moore
I hope they live in the same state. I assume they.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I mean, come on. All right, all right. What do we, what do we even say here? We've got this now circling video of Odell Beckham Jr. It was leaked on Friday. We're not gonna speculate too much other than to say it's not a good look. Look. Where there's smoke, sometimes there's fire. Where there's fire, there's sometimes suspension, there's smoke. Smoke of many kinds.
Jason Moore
So there were some substances in the video. Yeah, these substances, they were fantasy points. They looked illegal, but you don't know. No, not a good look.
Mike Wright
Not a good look. So we'll just follow that news and we'll be forced to report on it. Lev Bell says he won't sit out the 2018 season if he doesn't have a long term contract.
Jason Moore
Quote, it's just a rerun of last year, which is basically to say, you know, if he doesn't get the long term contract, he's not going to be playing in training camp, but he'll be there for the full season. Trade for him after week one.
Mike Wright
Here's what people need to recognize about the situation. It's a tough one for both sides. Apparently he's passed on a multi year deal that would pay him over 12 million a year. The highest paid per year deal in the league is Devonta Freeman at $8 million a year. Now he makes the case he's much more than the average running back. So the running back market doesn't dictate Lev Bell's price. I agree with that. But 12 million on a multi year deal, turning that down. This is what was rumored and talked about. He said, you know, hard to turn down, but he did. So now, now you wonder if you're heading towards. Mike, you mentioned this on another podcast last week. Are you heading towards a Kirk cousin situation where you just franchise the guy? Too many times the bad blood builds up and is he somewhere else next year at 20, what, 27 years old by then?
Andy Holloway
The best move in my opinion, business wise for the Steelers is to franchise him this year and then let him walk there. There are numbers and that if you look at what the Steelers offense does with Le'Veon Bell and without him. I mean, they're scoring almost the exact same amount of points per game. The running back is a. It is a devalued position.
Mike Wright
You're giving the Steelers representation some nice sound bites for their next meeting.
Andy Holloway
Look, but at the same time, I love Le'Veon Bell and I think that he is the best running back in football. You just, you're playing the wrong position.
Mike Wright
It will be interesting to see how the draft unfolds for Pittsburgh.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Based on that and their future and what they want to do, it'll be interesting if they invest something in the third, fourth round they did last year.
Andy Holloway
James Connor was a third round pick last year.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
He has not panned out yet.
Mike Wright
No, he was recently. He's not going to pass as well. All right, we're going to talk about the Tory Smith news momentarily. Before we do that, I want to thank Pristine Auction once more for being the absolute best place to buy autograph sports memorabilia. Look, recent auctions that just ended. Evan Ingram signed Giants jersey. JSA certified $47. What?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, people, Evan Ingram is great.
Mike Wright
You want to get on the Mixon train before it leaves the station? Joe Mixon signed Bengals jersey. Can I guess $54? Oh, no, you can't. But you can guess. The Tyreek Hill signed Chiefs Jersey should be 350. No, $49.14. Everything's authentic. They have the best customer service in the business. We know these guys personally and Pristine Auction is absolutely the industry leader. Check them out@pristineauction.com that's P R I S T I N E auction.com. you will not regret it.
Jason Moore
No. And also we want to thank SeatGeek. Look, buying tickets to any event, especially sporting events, can be a lot of fun. But the actual process of getting the tickets can be a hassle. Mike Wright
I just checked a Mark Ingram jersey. Guess what I just sold for. Oh, yeah. Yeah. 55 bucks.
Andy Holloway
I should have seen it come.
Mike Wright
You should have seen it come.
Andy Holloway
And it was great.
Mike Wright
All right, big news. Panthers have acquired wide receiver Torrey Smith from the Eagles in exchange for cornerback Darrell Worley. This is interesting and it really, it really is interesting because Torrey Smith is still just 29, still a burner, still fast. I can't believe the Eagles got something for him. Yeah, and here he arrives in Carolina, the one place where you know Cam Newton off his back foot dropping dimes to Ted Ginn for years. Is there going to be enough opportunity here for us to even glance in Tori Smith's direction in fantasy football?
Jason Moore
Well, in fantasy, yes. I love right now, Torrey Smith is a very, very, very, very late best ball pick. Because you know, he's been Torrey Smith. But this is a great location for those deep balls from Cam. Have the speed fill that Ted Ginn Jr. Role in Redraft leagues. I probably won't touch him. I mean, maybe depending on how the preseason goes. But I really do like him in best ball.
Andy Holloway
Even when Ted Ginn was in his heyday in Carolina, it was sketchy. You never really wanted to play him.
Jason Moore
Despite the weekly league in home leagues.
Andy Holloway
This also opens things up for Mack Hollins from the Philadelphia Eagles. He is likely to be their wide receiver. 3. Just someone to keep an eye on.
Jason Moore
And for Aguilar to step up. They're saying he is our true number two.
Mike Wright
All right. Dolphins released Ndama Kung sue. So don't draft him as your any of your offensive positions. The Bears, this was.
Jason Moore
This is.
Andy Holloway
What are you doing?
Mike Wright
Mike doesn't like this. The Bears, nobody likes have tindered Cameron Meredith at the original round level of 1.9 million. Brief reminder how this works. You can tender a free agent, a restricted free agent at three levels. First, second round or original round. If you tender them at original round, you guarantee them $1.9 million.
Andy Holloway
That's not guaranteed, right?
Mike Wright
You give them $1.1.9 million non guaranteed contract. But because it was original round, that means another team can come in and sign them and they get no compensation. They'll have the opportunity to match, but they will get no compensation. If he accepts a deal elsewhere, basically for 2.9, they could have tendered him in a second round level and guaranteed having him on the roster. Now what this says to me before you, I'll let you guys jump in. What it says to me is that there will be a major wide receiver splash in Chicago, maybe two. I would expect two big names to go there and they're looking at Meredith like a three or four and saying hey, we're going to penny pinch.
Jason Moore
Yeah, you know. No, I agree. What it, what it guarantees is that there will be another team to come in and sign Cam Meredith for more than the 1.9. Because you think so? Oh, absolutely. I think it's inevitable. And the question of whether or not Chicago will match, that's, you know, yet to be seen. They probably want to see what's going to happen with their own free agent searches, you know, with Alan Robinson, Sammy Watkins, those type of guys. But I do agree with you that you know a lot of people and I think wrongly, incorrectly, whichever one is correct, I think that they have been seeing Cam Meredith too high this off season as, as like oh, he's going to be great next year because Chicago needs a wide receiver and he is very talented. I agree with that. But he's not there one next year. He never was going to be the one next year. With their cap room and Mitchell Trubisky and an offensive minded coach, they are absolutely paying up for some wide receiver ACL surgery.
Mike Wright
He's coming off of that injury.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, it was a monster injury two years ago.
Mike Wright
66 receptions, 888 yards in the breakout back half of that year. That's the one where, you know, Marshall didn't pan out.
Andy Holloway
And just for me to not take the gamble for an extra $1 million to almost guarantee that Cam Meredith will be on your team and can be your wide receiver 2 or wide receiver 3. I think it's just a grave mistake.
Mike Wright
It's interesting the Jaguars have tendered restricted free agent running back Corey Grant at a second round level.
Andy Holloway
That's very interesting.
Jason Moore
That's how you do it.
Mike Wright
They did what the Bears could not do. 2.9 million plus for Corey Grant because he's, he's drafted. I don't think people are going to sign him away.
Andy Holloway
No.
Jason Moore
And Chris Ivory's gone. He could be more involved in this backfield next year.
Mike Wright
Yeah, he's certainly more of the past catching line him up in the slot do fun stuff with him.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Andy Holloway
Big plays.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he's a freak athlete.
Mike Wright
Yeah, he's quick. He's got the Darren Sprols effect going on. All right. The big trade this morning, Big trade for fantasy implications. The Bengals have acquired left tackle Cordy Glenn from the Bills. Monstrous trade. This allowed the Bills to move up from 21 to 12 in the draft. This solidifies helps to begin solidifying an offensive line that was decimated that Joe Mixon, Jill Bernard and company felt last year in the running game, that Andy Dalton felt in the passing game. A big trade for the Bengals.
Jason Moore
If he can stay healthy, you know, that's been his issue. He's graded out highly as a left tackle, but he has not been able to stay healthy. He. His foot issues should be fixed now, but if he can play left tackle for the Bengals, this will be a huge upgrade for them. Last season, if you remember, they lined up without an offensive left tackle every play.
Andy Holloway
They said four on the line, four on the line.
Jason Moore
They played 10 on 11 weekend.
Mike Wright
Cardinals did that for about a decade. If I recall back in the 90s.
Andy Holloway
It doesn't work out well. And speaking in terms of the Buffalo Bills, this is certainly the beginning of the climb as they trying to get into the top five to draft one of these quarterbacks.
Mike Wright
Absolutely.
Jason Moore
And we're going to get picks belong to the Browns.
Mike Wright
We're going to get into the hype train right now. We're going to let you know the latest news that we have. Rumors, information. But just let's maintain the tease of teases. We're going to talk about the Cleveland Browns.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Mike Wright
At length, very shortly. This is why we succeed as a show. We tease you with the right kind of tease.
Jason Moore
Really.
Mike Wright
The Browns.
Jason Moore
The Browns.
Mike Wright
The Browns.
Andy Holloway
Where you tease and then you.
Jason Moore
Please.
Andy Holloway
So it works.
Mike Wright
That's what they say. Let's jump into the hype train. Ian Rapoport is doing all sorts of work.
Andy Holloway
Who are the packers going to sign now?
Mike Wright
Saints are talking about a contract with Jimmy Graham. Also, Ian Rapaport reports. I'm sorry, NFL.com's Mike Garofalo reporting. The packers have reached out to him. We all picked Jimmy Graham. Back to the Saints, I believe on our free agent predictions episode, at least two of us. Jason picked the Texans, I think.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that's. That's right.
Mike Wright
So we'll see where he ends up. That's the best fit for him. And the real question will be, I mean, Kobe Fleener will be cut. I mean, he's done. They probably already changed the Locks on him. But Jimmy Graham, if he's my locker.
Jason Moore
My stuff's in there.
Mike Wright
He's back. Yeah, we're seizing it all. Kobe, get out. You only had 52 receptions against family inside. So Jimmy Graham fantasy implications if he went back to New Orleans. Do you like him more or less than you did at the beginning of last year with Seattle?
Andy Holloway
About the same.
Jason Moore
I would say at the beginning of the year, maybe a little bit more about the same. Because I believed in him going into last year more than what he showed up on. What showed up on film.
Mike Wright
You know what'll be perfect is they'll sign him. Right. And he. Because it seemed like he was devastated to be traded last time. And then. And then Drew Brees will sign somewhere else and then he won't get to come back with Drew and he'll end up with some. Somebody else. Oh, that'd be sad. Well, we'll see what happens. All right. Adam Kaplan's at least reporting that Kirk Cousins is going to be a Minnesota Viking. Yes, there are reports that multiple teams will offer him a three year fully guaranteed deal at 27 plus per year.
Jason Moore
Breaking the NFL system.
Mike Wright
But here's the thing. Kirk Cousins is going to go on visits. This is going to be a lot like when Peyton Manning was a free agent several years back. We're not going to have, I think, a conclusive report on Kirk Cousins. I bet you the other teams will get a sense of whether they're really in on it and we'll move on to other quarterbacks sooner than we'll have a final deal by Kirk Cousins.
Jason Moore
Kirk will not be the first domino to drop. It'll be case Keenum or AJ McCarron Bradford.
Mike Wright
Here's some other quick hits on the hype train. Rams working to sign Sammy Watkins to resign him, Jets, Titans and Colts in play for Dion Lewis all makes sense. Ravens seem focused on Moncrief, which Jason had as his predicted possible.
Andy Holloway
The news did come out that the Colts are done with Dante Moncrief. So he will be moving on Alan Robinson.
Mike Wright
Where is he going to end up?
Andy Holloway
49Ers.
Jason Moore
Yeah. You made a stone cold lock.
Andy Holloway
I did.
Jason Moore
You said that a week ago that you guarantee he ends up on the 49ers.
Mike Wright
There have been rumors from the Packers. There have been rumors about the Bears.
Jason Moore
The Packers rumors with both Alan Robinson and Sammy Watkins. What people have. Very bizarre. It is a little bit bizarre if that were to happen. Because right now, if you look at guaranteed money to wide receivers in the NFL, the number one team by a mile is already Green Bay. So they're not going to add an Allen Robinson to the mix. If they were to make an, you know, an attempt to sign him, that would be saying, okay, Jordy, you're out of here. Cobb, you might be out of here too.
Andy Holloway
Both would go. And it, it's not necessarily a bad move. If you're going to cut both Jordy and Cobb, you move forward with Devonte Adams and Alan Robinson as your two wide receivers.
Jason Moore
That's nice.
Andy Holloway
I think that'd be very successful.
Jason Moore
I was Alan Robinson and I've been playing with Blake the Snake. Oh, I'd much rather, much rather have Aaron Rodgers.
Mike Wright
So a lot of rumors with Sammy and Alan Robinson to the Bears. I think the Bears will end up with one of those two players. I really do. But also Paul Richardson, he's not going to get resigned in Seattle. He hinted that he's done there. We'll see where he ends up. CJ Anderson will not be cut, at least at this time.
Andy Holloway
Very surprising.
Mike Wright
According to local reports, they're going to listen to trade offers. I don't know why you're celebrating because here's what's going to happen. They're going to report that he's not going to be cut. They're going to shop him. They're not going to find a trade partner. Then they're going to cut it.
Jason Moore
And then that would be really.
Andy Holloway
And then the spots will be all full.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Yeah. Oh, man. C.J.
Mike Wright
Oh, man.
Jason Moore
My dynasty team needs you back. Here's, here's, here's what has to happen. Every quarterback needs to sign with a non Denver Broncos team so that they're just paying for a rookie quarterback this coming year and they can afford CJ and.
Mike Wright
Well, let's bring CJ on to chat about it.
Jason Moore
Oh, stop it.
Mike Wright
Get out of here.
Jason Moore
Stop it. C.J. anderson is extremely efficient. Is a very good running back.
Mike Wright
Oh, my gosh.
Jason Moore
And didn't get the touches.
Mike Wright
What kind of. Do you think he'll put up equal or the or better numbers than what Ryan Mantis put up last year?
Jason Moore
I'm gonna.
Andy Holloway
I'm gonna go better.
Mike Wright
Better. Okay. Chargers planning on placing a second round tender on wide receiver Tyrell Williams.
Jason Moore
That was.
Mike Wright
Williams has drawn interest around the league and maybe a trade candidate.
Andy Holloway
They. I was gonna say they might get a second round pick for Tyrell Williams, who was. He played incredible a few years back when he had to take over for Keenan Allen. Is there something wrong with that statement?
Mike Wright
I couldn't figure out if it was supposed to be incredible or credibly. Incredibly. He played.
Jason Moore
Played incredibly well.
Mike Wright
Incredibly well or incredible? Yeah, I think they're both right.
Andy Holloway
Nailed it.
Mike Wright
Hey, I was just thinking over here. You didn't have to ask.
Andy Holloway
Here's the deal. A couple years back, over a thousand yards when he had to be the.
Jason Moore
Man and he was young. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
This is interesting. If Los Angeles does in fact keep him. We'll get to Andy's cackles in just a moment. But now they have Keenan Allen truck, Travis Benjamin, Mike Williams and Tyrell Williams. I mean, you have a log jam here so many ways.
Jason Moore
That's why I was really surprised to see a second round tender. I mean, he. He's a player deserving of it.
Andy Holloway
They will get a second round pick for him or they. Or they're like Andy said, they'll just. They'll sign and they want some.
Jason Moore
He's only 26 years old right now.
Mike Wright
I was just laughing because some. That Ian Rapaport report about Kirk Cousins and his sister living out in this area.
Andy Holloway
Delete it.
Mike Wright
No, he didn't delete it. But one of our Foot Clan members said we all know the real reason he suddenly drawn to Arizona. It's the pheromones that FF Hitman put out a few weeks ago.
Andy Holloway
Darn right. I'm like a.
Mike Wright
He does. He doesn't know why he's drawn here.
Jason Moore
I'm so.
Andy Holloway
People are.
Jason Moore
Skunk would keep people away. Bring them in.
Mike Wright
What kind of skunk brings them in? My.
Andy Holloway
No, he doesn't.
Jason Moore
No. Come on.
Andy Holloway
That's a bad. All right.
Mike Wright
Speaking of skunks, let's get into the brown segment.
Andy Holloway
I spray. I. I spray positivity.
Mike Wright
Not like a skunk, though. They don't spray positivity.
Andy Holloway
I'm just talking about where it emits from.
Mike Wright
Nothing good emits.
Jason Moore
We thought and thought.
Mike Wright
That's what I've learned.
Jason Moore
That's true.
Mike Wright
Nothing good emits from anything.
Jason Moore
I think soaring over the world at Disney. Oh, the orange.
Andy Holloway
The orange spray.
Jason Moore
Yeah, There you go. I found it. We thought about what drop we should have for the, you know, for the Browns.
Mike Wright
Let's go something vanilla browns. Is that good?
Jason Moore
Sure. Browns. Brown. I was thinking it would be something a little bit more like. Because we're like, what's brown? What? You know, it's like. That was what happened.
Mike Wright
So you.
Jason Moore
This last weekend.
Mike Wright
That's the difference between Mike in control of all of our sound drops and Jason. Yeah, Jason just made a fart sound and said we at the end of.
Jason Moore
It put Your vote in@twitter.com vote for Jason for sound effects drop of the year.
Mike Wright
All right, it is time. We've been asked. I mean the tweets were coming like fire. After all the Browns moves, let's start at the top. Big time trades. A 2018 fourth rounder and a 2019 seventh rounder have been traded to Miami and Jarvis Landry is now a Cleveland Brown. And this is a very interesting move. I want to hear your take. You've had a chance now to digest the Jarvis Landry move. He had been in that will he play on the franchise tag territory? Jarvis Landry is the high. He has the most receptions through four years of any player in NFL history. And do we undervalue him and will he be worth what he was worth in Miami, in Cleveland, Is his talent undervalued?
Andy Holloway
Yes. But he cannot be the number one and number two options in, in this passing game. Not with Josh Gordon, not with Corey Coleman.
Mike Wright
Unless he can absolutely be the number two.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Andy Holloway
I'm saying he can't be the number one and number two like he was in Miami. All targets.
Mike Wright
I see what you're saying.
Andy Holloway
The entire offense funneled through Jarvis Landry. Yeah, he can be the number two, but what does that mean he gets.
Mike Wright
Up to as opposed to. I see what you mean. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
80 receptions for 700 yards. I like Jarvis Landry. I think he's a great wide receiver. But because of his, because of his skill set, if he's not getting up near 100 receptions, he's not going to be the same fantasy value that he was when he was in Miami.
Jason Moore
When you say up near 100 receptions the last three years for Jarvis Landry, he has averaged 153 targets a year.
Andy Holloway
Right.
Jason Moore
This isn't like oh, he's got 110 targets. Last year there wasn't a single Brown who had 100 targets on the team. Now that some of that was injury. Josh Gordon came back for five years so we'll forgive that. But I don't see him having 150 targets in this, in this offense for the Browns. I see no upside here for Jarvis Landry to improve. You're hoping that he is as good as he was in Miami. But I think the situation has gotten drastically worse. Maybe they get a better quarterback. You know, Tyrod is not any better for. I'm just saying. I'm talking about his quarterback situation. The quarterback situation is going to be at best lateral, not up. The offense situation I think is going to be. I just don't See the targets being there for his skill set.
Mike Wright
I think it's a really strong take. I mean I, I don't think that you can paint the picture as Jarvis is going to somehow improve. Mike's right. I mean the distribution, the priority. He was in the Miami offense. I think he could, he could get close though. I think he could get pretty close from a tie. The problem that I have is you have 74 receptions that went to Duke Johnson. And so either Duke Johnson's going extended or they're going to invest a pick on a pass catching back like Barkley. So you need to commit 60 to 80 receptions to the running back position where Jarvis is a. He's kind of an extended running back in the slot. You have the opportunity to give him the ball at the line of scrimmage or behind. So often now they need that, they'll use that. And I don't think Jarvis is going to go, you know, and be something he isn't in Cleveland. But you do have Josh Gordon, Corey Coleman. I think they'll sign somebody else, whether it's Trial Pryor or somebody bigger. Even so, for my numbers here, I'm.
Andy Holloway
Showing Miami had the highest amount of their targets go to the wide receiver position in the league.
Mike Wright
More than I'm guessing Cleveland's got zero. The least.
Andy Holloway
Cleveland was down at 26.
Jason Moore
Yeah, yeah. Last year as a whole, I mean.
Mike Wright
The leading receiver was Duke Johnson. He had the most receptions on the team.
Jason Moore
You had Miami with 602 passing attempts. You had Cleveland with 574 last year, 567 the year before. Do you think that there will be anybody out there that is arguing that Todd Haley's system. He's going to plug in Jarvis into the Antonio Brown role. That did soak up those targets. Take a Josh Gordon, make him more of the Martevis Bryant Field stretcher role. Is there any argument to be had there from a scheme standpoint?
Andy Holloway
Jarvis can't do what Antonio Brown can do.
Jason Moore
No one can. But Jarvis is. Jarvis could be the most talented.
Mike Wright
So he was the 8th ranked fantasy wide receiver last year. So the question that I have for you is what do you give him as a number? Where's he going to this half point league? Where does he finish in a half point league? Is he still worthy of wide receiver one consideration?
Andy Holloway
No, not for me. Okay.
Jason Moore
Not. Not even close for me.
Mike Wright
So I would have Jarvis Landring next.
Andy Holloway
Year or Doug Baldwin, Baldwin by a lot.
Mike Wright
Juju Smith Schuster or Jarvis Landry.
Andy Holloway
That's, that's an interesting Question. I lean Jarvis.
Mike Wright
Stefan Diggs or Jarvis, who would you rather have?
Jason Moore
Jarvis.
Mike Wright
Okay, so after all that smack talk.
Andy Holloway
You got faith in there.
Mike Wright
You went in, you went in with Jarvis.
Jason Moore
My point is that he cannot go. I don't even think it's going to be lateral. I don't see him as number eight. I think he's going to finish around that wide receiver 15, 16. He, he's still a consistent guy and the routes he runs, he's, you know, he's a volume based.
Mike Wright
He's a great player, he's a great football player.
Andy Holloway
But last year, nine touchdowns, that was.
Jason Moore
An outlier and it's not happening with Cleveland. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
So receptions are going down, touchdowns are going down.
Mike Wright
No, he's going to throw for more yardage.
Andy Holloway
Nowhere near wide receiver one.
Mike Wright
All right, so more outside the top 24.
Andy Holloway
I would. I was thinking about the number in my head and that that 20 to 24 range is where he will likely end up for me.
Mike Wright
All right, let's talk about Tyrod Taylor, new Cleveland Brown quarterback.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Mike Wright
Traded from the Bills to Cleveland. I've read some things saying that he was a top choice ahead of the McCarran trade last year. So they've had their eyes on Tyrod for a while for whatever reason and he was traded for a third round pick. Look, I, Tyrod, I found a meme from literally one year ago today and I had made some jokes about Tyrod Taylor because he had no wide outs. I mean, in Buffalo, this was like Sammy was leaving. And I'm thinking Tyrod's got no weapons. What odds, what chance does he have there? Now you have Cleveland likely to draft a quarterback very high, but have publicly said they don't want to start a rookie in week one. So Tyrod, your guy, week one, right?
Andy Holloway
Yes, week one. Here is my take on this, is this was an awful trade, an awful, awful trade for the Cleveland Browns. They gave up a third round pick, if I'm not mistaken, the first pick.
Mike Wright
Correct picker, the third round.
Andy Holloway
That's a starter.
Jason Moore
Oh, definitely.
Andy Holloway
That is a starter for your team regardless of offense or defense. You have now grabbed a bridge quarterback, as they want to call him because.
Mike Wright
He'S still not under contract.
Andy Holloway
He's not under contract next year. The Cleveland Browns have the 101 and the 104 pick. Now, unless there is some huge smoke screen here and the Cleveland Browns are not going to take a quarterback with one of those to picks, then trading for Tyrod is fine. But in this day and age when you draft a Rookie quarterback in the top five before the end of the year. They will be playing. They will be given the job. And they will be given the job. They'll be given the opportunity to fail for about three to four years. Three years minimum for a rookie taken at the 105. You've given up a starter for your team for a quarterback to come in and start six games.
Mike Wright
In Cleveland's defense, they have two more. I think they had two.
Jason Moore
I don't.
Andy Holloway
I don't care.
Mike Wright
Oh, no, I'm sorry. I was looking at the second round. They have three second rounders ahead of that first pick in the third round.
Andy Holloway
Load up your entire team.
Mike Wright
Yeah. I mean, fair. They don't have another pick until the middle of the fourth. So they'll be drafting at 64 and then the middle of the fourth round.
Jason Moore
What's interesting to me, but you need.
Mike Wright
To win games most.
Jason Moore
Do you? Yes.
Mike Wright
What do you do?
Jason Moore
You need to win games.
Mike Wright
Oh, and 16 says they don't.
Jason Moore
But Hugh Jackson's like, oh, I gotta start.
Andy Holloway
Right. But Hugh Jackson doesn't control the personnel. Hugh Jackson, the gm. It's not Sasha anymore. But the GM controls all that stuff. The GM just got signed. He knows he's good moving.
Mike Wright
This is the perennial disrespect of Tyrod Taylor. Tyra Taylor's the quarterback for a playoff team last year.
Jason Moore
Right.
Mike Wright
He's also been a fantasy relevant player for multiple years.
Andy Holloway
And I don't want.
Mike Wright
He had no weapons and now he has Gordon, Landry, Duke, whomever they draft in that first round.
Andy Holloway
I do not want my take of the Cleveland Browns terrible trade to reflect on my opinion of Tyra Taylor who I think is a fine middle of the pack quarterback. He's not great, but he is a starter in this league.
Mike Wright
This is the great challenge for us as fantasy owners. Now we have the greatest bias. We could have an 016 Browns team with lots of weapons. Look, whether they end up with Barkley or they end up with Penny or Geiss or another running back, they're going to have a running back or two that they draft that will be prognosticating. They're going to have Gordon and Coleman and Landry and Duke that were going to be. Yeah. So weapons all over the field that we're all going to have to. The question is, are you going to dismiss them because they're the Browns for no good reason.
Jason Moore
History is a great reason and I think that history has taught me. But if you bet against the Browns.
Mike Wright
Yes. And history taught you to bet against The Jags and you would have been burnt last year.
Jason Moore
I don't think the Jags history is anywhere remotely close. I remember the good old days with mjd.
Andy Holloway
You know, Josh Gordon, number one wide receiver a few, many, many years back.
Mike Wright
Yeah, yeah. Several years ago. Praylin Edwards, Derek Anderson, Crow.
Andy Holloway
Well, two years ago Peyton completely dismissed them and you have. Now you have Todd Haley, whose offensive. His offensive mind has brought us much, much.
Mike Wright
And Hugh Jackson.
Andy Holloway
Guys, Wolverine is coaching players.
Mike Wright
I am in. I know it's not a safe place to be.
Andy Holloway
No, it's not. It's a bad place.
Mike Wright
This is walking up to the edge without the railing there. But I'm telling you, I believe in Hugh Jackson. I believe in the personnel.
Andy Holloway
I don't know why.
Mike Wright
I believe in Dorsey and the personnel he's bringing. And I have no skin in the game. I've never been a Browns fan. This isn't biased coming.
Andy Holloway
You are going Thelma and Louise next year.
Jason Moore
No. Yeah. Well, no, because I'm pretty sure she had someone with her in the car.
Andy Holloway
No. Say Kim and Hugh Jackson.
Jason Moore
Oh, okay. Those two will be going. That's fine. Yeah.
Mike Wright
No, no, no.
Andy Holloway
On the Gus bus.
Mike Wright
Gus is in the back of the car with us. He's with me.
Jason Moore
I am. I think I am going to.
Mike Wright
How do you feel about Corey Coleman now, Jay?
Jason Moore
Oh, it sucks. This sucks because I like Corey Coleman.
Mike Wright
But they're going to sign another whiteout too.
Jason Moore
The reality is there won't be enough quality targets to go around to everyone especially. Look, Tyrod, I agree he is a fine enough quarterback, but he's not this guy that's going to throw the ball, you know, up near the top 10 in the league and succeed. That's never been his game.
Andy Holloway
Jackson doesn't want to do that.
Jason Moore
Right. But you could say he doesn't have the weapons. But I mean he had Sammy Watkins and Marquis Goodwin and Robert woods. These guys that are.
Mike Wright
He had none of those last year.
Jason Moore
No, but I'm saying he's had them before and he. He didn't turn them into anything great. So now he's supposed to go to Cleveland.
Mike Wright
That's a pretty look. I get it. But Watkins was always hurt. Woods was not put in a position. I mean too many targets. You're right about the fact that his offensive prowess equates to about 3,500 passing yards. I will write about.
Jason Moore
I will like Tyrod Taylor for fantasy. You know, you give him the weapons, the touch on opportunities, you give him the opportunity to run and the outlandish way that fantasy football records running quarterbacks value. I'll like him at the beginning of the year to draft as a streaming quarterback.
Andy Holloway
We haven't even mentioned David and Joku is there as well.
Mike Wright
Yeah, David and Joku. Talent.
Andy Holloway
The talent for the Cleveland Browns is incredible. What now?
Mike Wright
I'm just. I'm just. If you want to argue against Jarvis Landry last year, Duke Johnson, 74 receptions. Do you know the next highest reception total for the Cleveland Browns? Not the person, the amount. Give me both actually. Because if you can get either even close, I'll be amazed.
Andy Holloway
Okay, so the second leading receiver.
Mike Wright
The second by reception count. Yes, the second leading receiver by reception.
Jason Moore
Gordon only played five games. Coleman didn't do much. There's no way it was in Joku, right?
Mike Wright
Nope. But he was second. He was. He was close. 33 receptions was the next closest to the 74 that Duke Johnson received.
Andy Holloway
Hold on.
Mike Wright
Seth DeValve. Yeah, with 33. Yep. David and Joku with 32. Okay, so you're still not touching a wideout. Isaiah Cruell was then fourth with 28. Here's your first wideout. Rashard Higgins and Ricardo Lewis tied with 27 receptions. Corey Coleman, 23. Josh Gordon, 18. Kenny Britt, 18. Sammy co.
Jason Moore
This is why you needed to go trade for Jarvis Landry.
Mike Wright
I mean, that is unbelievable. Wow.
Andy Holloway
They also traded away to Sean Kaiser to the Green Bay Packers. Congratulations, Green Bay, you get a better backup quarterback.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Someone who can possibly be.
Jason Moore
I mean, he could be your future.
Andy Holloway
You have no idea.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that's where I wanted him to be drafted.
Mike Wright
He won't be.
Jason Moore
Last year he was my number one prospect.
Andy Holloway
You know, it's not Hundley is what.
Jason Moore
I'm saying, but I wanted Kaiser to go to a place like Green Bay or Kansas City where there are known commodities of people that have trained quarterbacks to be successful in the league. Instead, he went to the worst place he could, the Cleveland Browns. And now he's been liberated.
Mike Wright
All right, we have a couple minutes left. Let's. Let's jump into the mailbag.
Jason Moore
Mailbag. Mailbag.
Mike Wright
Browns edition. Actually, no, this is. This is just any question. All right. Actually, I think we asked for non Brown.
Jason Moore
We did.
Mike Wright
Because Brooks is naughty. Yeah. If you have a question, you go to the website the fantasy footballers.com, click on the Submit a question button or dial our voicemail hotline. 302464 TFFB. Always love your voicemail questions. We're gonna kick it off with a voicemail question.
D
Hey, fantasy footballers and Mike Wright don't know if you're verified yet.
Mike Wright
Not verified.
D
Paulie the ravioli calling two part question here. First question. You bowl a ravioli you like red sauce or white sauce, AKA tomato or Alfredo. Second question. While you're eating that bowl of ravioli, you're picking ninth in the standard league. Are you two quarterbacks? Are you picking a breeze? Alvin Kamara, David Johnson or Hopkins? Thank you. This is Paulie the Ravioli signing out.
Andy Holloway
Is it going. Is he stretching out to be poly?
Jason Moore
It started as Paulie Poly the ravioli.
Mike Wright
Paulie the ravioli because he rhymes.
Jason Moore
Yeah, no, I.
Mike Wright
All right, first one. White sauce, red sauce, go.
Jason Moore
If it's ravioli, it's white sauce.
Mike Wright
It's funny. If it's ravioli, it's red sauce for me. But I like.
Jason Moore
Leave it.
Mike Wright
Fettuccine Alfredo.
Andy Holloway
I agree. If it's ravioli, I'm going red. But I prefer white sauce.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
Alfredo.
Andy Holloway
I love Alfredo actually.
Mike Wright
I cannot think of a time in my life I've had ravioli with white sauce. That's why, that's why I never had that.
Jason Moore
It would probably come over to my house.
Mike Wright
Jason does whatever he wants with food.
Jason Moore
You darn right.
Mike Wright
All right. Two quarterback league pick one Breeze Camaro, DJ or Hopkins at that point in the draft.
Andy Holloway
Wow.
Mike Wright
It's not Breeze.
Jason Moore
No. To me, even at a two quarterback it would go David Johnson, probably Hopkins, then Camara. Followed last by Drew Brees.
Andy Holloway
Wow. Going to despair Drew Brees that much.
Mike Wright
In a two quarterback league with those three talents on the board? Unfortunately, yes.
Andy Holloway
All right, I would go. I think it's still David Johnson for.
Mike Wright
Me between over Camara and Hopkins. Yeah, yeah, I think so too. I'm right on the line with like I love Camara, but I don't think I'm going to throw away the volume.
Andy Holloway
That's exactly what I mean.
Mike Wright
We talked about that recently.
Jason Moore
Let's say David Johnson over Camara. But I'm actually interested in your guys opinion on the Camara versus Hopkins.
Mike Wright
That's a good one. Yeah. And I.
Jason Moore
Because that's where I struggle going back and forth. But I, I still think, I still think Eileen Hop.
Andy Holloway
Just, just getting the.
Mike Wright
I'll take Camara. I'll take Camara because I want to.
Jason Moore
Say you wrote an article. Yeah.
Mike Wright
I want the difference maker at that more difficult to find position. And I think if I believe that Camara really is, then I believe it's better than going Hopkins there.
Jason Moore
Absolutely.
Mike Wright
This one comes in off of Instagram, by the way. You can follow us over on Instagram. We've been posting a lot of stuff over there.
Andy Holloway
That's right. We're stepping up the game.
Mike Wright
Like when, like between now and the next show, when a big signing happens, we're going to jump on there and we're going to drop a hot take. And I'll say this. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
If Kirk Cousins signs in Arizona, you will want to be following our Instagram.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Because you want to see Mike Wright streaking down the streets, which you may or may not, but there's only one way and that's going to be on Instagram.
Mike Wright
You don't know if you want to see that yet.
Jason Moore
Right.
Mike Wright
You'll find out.
Jason Moore
We'll start recording when he's a quarter mile down the road.
Mike Wright
I believe he's already done that. That's how the pheromones get into the atmosphere in Arizona.
Andy Holloway
So yes, I've talked about the emission.
Mike Wright
Like I said, emitting is never good. Caddy 14 says, what's up, ballers? I'm in a keeper league and league mates are asking about if they picked up a guy off waivers and want to keep. I'm getting lost here.
Andy Holloway
It's a keeper league. They've grabbed players off of the waiver wire. What is the draft cost to keep said waiver wire player?
Jason Moore
Let me tell you what it is not. And this is not like, oh, this is what it shouldn't be. This is what it is not. Change and fix your league. It is not worth the last pick of your draft if you've got 16 rounds. It is not a 16th rounder. I mean, a couple years ago, you know, you had Odell Beckham, a first round type.
Andy Holloway
David Johnson would have been there every year.
Jason Moore
There's usually a guy where you, Alvin.
Andy Holloway
Camara going into next year is, would be a free player for many, many.
Jason Moore
Years that you're getting a first round type player in the 16th you're rewarding. I mean, yes, the guy made a great pickup off of waivers, but all the research that's done in the draft and the fact that you're now talking about what is the draft cost in the keeper league. That's what you're sacrificing. Nobody did a good job in drafting that guy because he was picked up off of waivers. So I would say you either use ADP plus or minus around whatever your preference.
Andy Holloway
Right.
Jason Moore
Or you can make it something like the eighth round. Yeah. Somewhere. It's like if you've got, you know, however many rounds you have, make it half of that. But I prefer adp.
Mike Wright
All right.
Jason Moore
Or. Or you can't keep them. I like that rule the best personally. But I know people get people getting enough.
Andy Holloway
I like being able to pay a price to keep the waiver wire player.
Mike Wright
Turtle Master 232 why is that funny? It's just funny because his name is turtle master232 I know this is a stupid question, but I'm new to fantasy football. What round should you draft a quarterback?
Andy Holloway
Turtle Master Snap. Not stupid. If you know fantasy football, good for you. I hope you're enjoying the game.
Mike Wright
I imagine if I asked him a turtle question I would feel stupid and want him to give me some grace, right?
Jason Moore
What type of tortoise should I use in an Arizona backyard?
Mike Wright
There you go.
Jason Moore
I don't know. I don't know. Is that a dumb question? I don't even know.
Mike Wright
There are no stupid questions about turtles or about fantasy football.
Jason Moore
Look.
Mike Wright
So what round should you draft a quarterback? No, give me the exact round.
Jason Moore
Well, I did at first. I said round 10. Like double digit rounds is basically when I look to grab a quarterback. Guaranteed. Not in your first three rounds like that don't. I don't care if it's the best quarterback in the league. There are too many good, much more important players in the first three rounds where you're not even considering it. If the best quarterback is in the fourth and you want to play that way, you can. We always argue for the value that can be found in those late late rounds.
Andy Holloway
Position Scarcity. You start one quarterback. The rest of your league starts one quarterback. So you're talking in a 12 team. Let's do the math. That's 12 starting quarterbacks last year over.
Mike Wright
And he nailed that.
Jason Moore
Over.
Andy Holloway
Thank you. I got a little sweaty but we made it through as is. As was the result from the past few years as well. Over 40 quarterbacks put up at least one quarterback, one performance because you can stream. Guys, quarterback is the easiest position to play the matchup. It's the easiest position to find value late. You can find a starter late and if the late round starter doesn't pay off, you can just stream and you can be perfectly fine with the rest of your team loaded.
Mike Wright

Jason Moore (07:09): "I think he will probably be right around that cusp. If I had to bet, I would bet RB2. High end. RB2."
The Arizona Cardinals released veteran running back Adrian Peterson, leaving fans uncertain about his future in the league. The hosts express skepticism about Peterson continuing his career without a team.
Notable Quote:
Jason Moore (08:51): "He is already putting news out that his neck is fully healed. He wants to prove that he still got it and he's got the name to sell a few tickets or, you know..."
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made significant moves by signing wide receivers Mike Evans and Cameron Brate to multi-year contracts. The hosts analyze the fantasy implications, noting Evans' reliability and questioning Brate's long-term viability compared to O.J. Howard.
Notable Quote:
Mike Wright (12:32): "They're looking at Jerick McKinnon or a guy like that signing with the Titans. They are not going to have Derek Henry get the workload..."
The Buccaneers tendered Adam Humphries, raising questions about his role alongside established stars like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Additionally, the Carolina Panthers acquired wide receiver Torrey Smith from the Eagles, prompting discussions on his fantasy value in a revamped offense.
Notable Quote:
Mike Wright (23:25): "This is a very interesting move. I want to hear your take. You've had a chance now to digest the Jarvis Landry move."

A heated discussion unfolds around running back Le'Veon Bell's contract situation with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The hosts debate whether the Steelers should franchise Bell or let him walk, weighing his performance against the team's offensive dynamics and the broader devaluation of the running back position in fantasy football.
Notable Quote:
Andy Holloway (19:56): "Look, but at the same time, I love Le'Veon Bell and I think that he is the best running back in football."
The Cincinnati Bengals made a pivotal trade, acquiring left tackle Cordy Glenn from the Buffalo Bills. The hosts discuss the trade’s significance in strengthening the Bengals' offensive line and its impact on Joe Mixon’s performance.
Notable Quote:
Jason Moore (28:20): "And speaking in terms of the Buffalo Bills, this is certainly the beginning of the climb as they trying to get into the top five to draft one of these quarterbacks."
A major segment focuses on the Cleveland Browns trading for wide receiver Jarvis Landry. The hosts critically assess Landry’s fantasy value within the Browns’ offense, highlighting the potential challenges he may face in adapting to a new team dynamic with limited passing targets.
Notable Quotes:
Jason Moore (38:31): "This isn't like oh, he's got 110 targets. Last year there wasn't a single Brown who had 100 targets on the team."
Andy Holloway (38:20): "But last year, nine touchdowns, that was an outlier and it's not happening with Cleveland."
In the mailbag segment, listeners pose questions about drafting quarterbacks and keeper league strategies. The hosts advise against drafting top quarterbacks in early rounds, emphasizing the depth at the position and the advantage of finding value in later rounds.
