I don't know who you are, but I do know what you need. I can tell you I know some gentlemen with a very particular set of skills. Skills they have attained over a long career of studying tape and statistics. Skills they want to share to make you a nightmare for the rest of your league. Head over to www.ultimatedraftkick.com and order it right now. You will be prepared for your draft. Your league will be frightened of you, and you will kill them.
Andy Holloway
Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast coming to you from Draft.com Studios with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright.
Jason Moore
Welcome in, welcome in once again. But I mean, that's why we're here. We want you to just kill your teammates or your league mates, not your teammates. Swear to me now you're Batman.
Mike Wright
Yeah. I can't do Liam.
Jason Moore
If Liam Neeson played Batman today, that would be incredible.
Robbie Kim
He would be awesome.
Mike Wright
He would be the most mellow Batman we've ever had. Nah, Clooney was pretty mellow.
Jason Moore
He'd be pretty.
Mike Wright
Clooney did not care what was happening.
Jason Moore
He'd be mellow, but he'd be intense. Of course, he would have a lot of heart to heart conversations with you.
Mike Wright
And he would not be able to run down bad guys.
Jason Moore
Yeah, fair. Also, you don't need that anymore.
Robbie Kim
Thank goodness that Bruce Wayne does not have a daughter. Cuz she would.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Welcome to the show.
Mike Wright
A very good father.
Robbie Kim
No, no.
Mike Wright
This family just keeps getting taken away once.
Jason Moore
You know, up to thrice they have a taken TV show. You know this every week. No, there's a over and over. It's like Prison Break. How many times do you do it?
Mike Wright
Oh, Prison Break was great.
Jason Moore
How many times did he break out of prison?
Mike Wright
I think just the one. I think twice.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Mike Wright
I think there was a total of two.
Jason Moore
There needs to be one that at the end of every episode they catch him again and at the beginning of the next one, they break out.
Mike Wright
Mario. There's just Mario sleeping on the job.
Jason Moore
What do we do here?
Mike Wright
We talk about fantasy football.
Jason Moore
It's Thursday, March 8th. This is the Fantasy Footballers Podcast. Nanny Mike and Jason back once more. You can find us on Twitter at the ffballers. You can follow us over on Instagram if you want to see Jason rolled down a hill.
Robbie Kim
Yeah, That's a fact.
Jason Moore
I mean, that's just what sells our Instagram better than that.
Mike Wright
Jason's not aerodynamic, but he is rotund. Rotund dynamic wheel.
Jason Moore
Gravity makes a fool of us all. All right, we're gonna have fun today.
Mike Wright
And like our good friend, good, good friend of the show Liam Neeson was talking about, the Ultimate Draft Kit is available for presale. Get it for the cheapest price of the season.
Jason Moore
Where do you get that?
Mike Wright
Ultimate Draft kit dot com.
Jason Moore
Oh, man. That's a good domain for the Ultimate Draft Kit. All right, well, let's. Well, we want to do a little shout out here. Is this right?
Mike Wright
Oh, absolutely, absolutely. We need to get the gentleman's name.
Jason Moore
Shatterouter. Fi.
Mike Wright
Yeah, somebody Finding the name could be difficult. So you explain what has happened.
Jason Moore
We had a Foot Clan member that was so kind to make a Jason Morism generator. Jason is known for his reinvention of the human language.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
Of grammar.
Robbie Kim
The human language.
Jason Moore
The human language.
Robbie Kim
English.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Credit goes to Robbie Kim. Thank.
Robbie Kim
Thank you, brother from your hometown.
Jason Moore
So this is a simple website. You just click a button, and then it creates a word that Jason's likely to say or has said. Is that how it works?
Mike Wright
Including such hits as monotpoopful, miss Scooperism, ambibu fee.
Jason Moore
Ambibu fee.
Mike Wright
Ambibu Fi.
Jason Moore
Use that in a sentence, Jason.
Robbie Kim
Well, the thing is, is you're gonna ambibify a great character if, you know, you win the Walter Payton man of the year award.
Mike Wright
When you win that award, it's because you do with st. Plenty of success.
Robbie Kim
Exactly. If you don't, then you are mono. Poop full. So this is correct.
Mike Wright
I like how poop is in almost every word.
Jason Moore
Right, right. Sometimes it's not poop. It's Coop. Like Amari Cooper.
Robbie Kim
You can go to my Twitter @Jason FFL. I tweeted out.
Mike Wright
You should pin that.
Robbie Kim
All right, I'll pin it.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that's. We need that. Liked listening to the Foot Clan come up with sentences for the words that they discovered in this generator. So, Jason, thanks for. Thanks for being you.
Robbie Kim
Thanks for being an idiot.
Jason Moore
No, come on.
Robbie Kim
You're welcome.
Jason Moore
Come on. You play. You play an important role here. And you. Yeah.
Mike Wright
He's the wheel for our team.
Jason Moore
Yeah, you and boobify the show.
Mike Wright
If we are ever stranded somewhere and we have a giant board, we know that we have a wheel.
Jason Moore
Quick question of the day. On a recent show, we answered a quick question about teardrop candidates. Okay. We're talking about tiers in terms of players at a position last year. What we have probably with comparable numbers. Yeah, with comparable numbers. So when you're looking at drafting players in your upcoming draft, a lot of the times we say, hey, let's look at the wide receivers. Let's look at the running backs, who's left as a Tier 1 or Tier 2 as opposed to moving on to like a Tier 3 guy at a different position. What player do you think could make a tier jump in 2018? And we do put our rankings in with tiers in the ultimate draft kit as well. So who's a player that could jump into the. Into a top tier at their position?
Robbie Kim
I'll lead us off here. I think Tariq Cohen is a perfect style of player to take a tear jump because he is. I mean, we saw, everybody saw that, that looked at Tariq Cohen, running back for the Chicago Bears rookie last season, that he was extremely talented. He had the same thing when you watch Tyreek Hill, where you just go, he's faster than everyone around him on the football field in pads. He's outrunning everybody. But I think he was poorly utilized. And they did not have a creative offense. They did not have an offense that set people up to get the ball in space. And now you have Matt Nagy coming in. I think with the, you know, the kind of college offensive coordinator coming in, I believe that they will be able to utilize Tariq Cohen's substantial skill much better. And I think he'll take a tear, jump up. He'll be a very relevant, draftable running back.
Mike Wright
Like Chris Thompson.
Robbie Kim
Exactly.
Jason Moore
Brooks, who have I made several trades for in the past week?
Mike Wright
Offers, you mean?
Jason Moore
Yeah, offers. Offers. Tariq Cohen. Yeah, I've sent Brooks many, many an offer for Treat Cohen. So that's my way of saying, jason, I agree with you. Now, I made my offers also because I'm going to ruin any opportunity of getting them now. You ruined that. But there's been some question about whether Jordan Howard is a fit for that offense at all because he has zero pass catching ability. The drops, they are. There are a. Plenty of drops.
Robbie Kim
He catches the football the way that my children catch a Frisbee. Alligator smash.
Jason Moore
Yeah, Alligator smash. So that's all to say if Jordan Howard was shipped off because there's been trade rumors?
Mike Wright
That's nonsense.
Jason Moore
There have been trade rumors.
Robbie Kim
I think teams were inquiring, but Chicago said they're not trading.
Jason Moore
Well, that would make me like him more if he was gone.
Robbie Kim
Sure.
Mike Wright
We're going into the season with Tariq Cohen is our only role.
Jason Moore
You'd have to bring somebody else in. All right, I'm going to go with Josh Gordon. I don't know if that's cheating. I don't know if that counts because he's been great before, but I think he's going to be drafted as a tier one, tier two type guy.
Mike Wright
So where do you think he'll be drafted?
Jason Moore
Maybe tier two.
Mike Wright
Okay. I see Josh Gordon easily being drafted in the fourth.
Jason Moore
If you look at the number of draft picks that the Browns have, it is so far and away more than any other team in the NFL. They have 160something% of their normal amount of draft picks that a team would have on a regular year. They have a new offensive coordinator. They have a coach that has a ton of confidence in Josh Gordon. They have an inevitable. An inevitability of improving at the quarterback position over the course of the year.
Mike Wright
Probably I wouldn't go as far as say inevitable.
Jason Moore
It's very, it's very possible.
Robbie Kim
I think it, I think it would be because even if they stuck with Kaiser, he'll get better and if they bring in a higher drafted rookie, well.
Mike Wright
They'Re bringing somebody in.
Robbie Kim
Sure. Then you know, I have to imagine that that person coming in at the one or four spot is more.
Mike Wright
What if that person is AJ McCarron?
Jason Moore
That's fine.
Robbie Kim
I think AJ McCarron, while I'm not in love with him, is better than last year's Deshaun Kaiser.
Jason Moore
A.J. mcCarron did not destroy A.J. green in Cincinnati when he had limited opportunity with him. So I think Josh Gordon is that guy that could go, let's just say from tier two to tier one. Let's say that that's fair.
Mike Wright
And I'm going with a volume situation and I'm not trying to talk about pert plus Bolayer. I'm talking about a guy getting the ball more than he did last year and that's Joe Mixon, running back from the Cincinnati Bengals. He's gonna what he was at I think right around 180 carries or so. That'll be up in the 200s. Get those receptions up 40 to 50. He will. He will volume style his way to be a running back too.
Jason Moore
And there's. There's still the possibility that he improves efficiency. I mean absolutely. It's a lot more likely to me that Joe Mixon would go up in efficiency than it would be camara to sustain his efficiency.
Mike Wright
Oh, I completely agree. I'm just saying that to the point.
Jason Moore
Offensive line struggled immensely.
Mike Wright
That can improve of Joe Mixon should just stumble and bumble his way to being a running back.
Jason Moore
Where's he going to be drafted and what do you think he could be?
Mike Wright
He can be a running back one. He has the skill set to be that. But he will be Drafted, I would guess, starting at the back of the second round.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Mike Wright
All right.
Jason Moore
We. We haven't done this in a while. We're gonna do a review of Source.
Andy Holloway
Review a source.
Jason Moore
Rex caveat before Jason reads this. This one is actually coming from the Foot Clan and somebody who just joined over@jointhefoot.com.
Robbie Kim
This one comes in from jointhefoot.com.
Jason Moore
Thanks, Jordan. Coaster. Jordan comes in from Jordan. Coaster.
Robbie Kim
Jordan, Coaster.
Mike Wright
My mom yells at me when I don't use one of those on the table.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Robbie Kim
Yeah. Very excited to finally be part of the hashtag Foot Clan. I'm a vegetable farmer from up in Wisconsin and found your podcast early last August. Since then, I haven't missed an episode, even when I'm driving a tractor in the middle of nowhere. Love the show. The original farmer Bob. Well, thank you.
Mike Wright
Is it Bob or Jordan?
Robbie Kim
Jordan Coster.
Jason Moore
It's all. All the above. And I wanted to share this one because I just love what podcasts can do. I mean, you can reach anybody anywhere, and they can enjoy the podcast.
Robbie Kim
Yeah. I mean, I won't in the middle of any of your vegetables, but you can farm them and still listen to the show.
Mike Wright
Speaking of not vegetables, a quick shout out to my man at In N Out Burger who handed me my burgers, and he said, whoa, are you in? You do a podcast? And he was a part of the Foot Clan. So it was just. It was a nice moment where I received cheeseburgers. He got to shake my hand. It was great.
Jason Moore
Oh, yeah. What a gift.
Andy Holloway
News and notes from around the league.
Mike Wright
Joy was spread throughout the nation.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Have equal trade for all.
Mike Wright
To be fair.
Jason Moore
Shake with you is somewhat near a single cheeseburger.
Robbie Kim
Yeah.
Jason Moore
In value.
Mike Wright
To be fair, I still paid for my burgers.
Jason Moore
All right.
Robbie Kim
Also got money.
Jason Moore
Hashtag lifegold. All right. Eventually, free burgers will be free, and we'll be talking about a different kind of volume at that point. Okay. And we'll have. We'll have a few more good years left. All right. The NFL announced the salary cap has been increased. But.
Robbie Kim
But, Andy.
Jason Moore
Whoa.
Mike Wright
The voice of public opinion.
Jason Moore
It's been a while.
Mike Wright
I have not heard you in quite some time.
Robbie Kim
Well, I've been busy because I'm not watching football. Aren't the ratings down? And football's hurting and ratings down.
Jason Moore
Salary caps up $10.2 million.
Robbie Kim
Oh, and that's based on their revenue?
Jason Moore
Yeah, 177.2 million. Every year of late, this has been happening. We've seen more than a pretty significant increase. More than $10 million, I think for something like six straight years. And so this does have implications on some of the decisions that teams are facing. Mike, you brought up the fact that, you know, it had now been rumored, hey, maybe Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb.
Mike Wright
Green Bay packers beat reporters talking about, well, it's now theoretically possible that they can just hold on to both of them for this year.
Jason Moore
So it gives teams flexibility, opportunity. And, well, the Bills, they use some of that cap room to sign Chris ivory to a two year, $5.55 million contract.
Robbie Kim
That's a great sign.
Mike Wright
I love, I love it for both.
Robbie Kim
Mike Tolbert was never a quality backup there. I think Chris Ivory is a valuable handcuff.
Jason Moore
Now, in their defense, they weren't trying to use Tolbert as the backup. Sure, it was Tolbert and Trevor's Cadet before Cadet went down. And then it was just, you're stuck with Tolbert.
Mike Wright
That's a fair point.
Jason Moore
The Rams will not assign the franchise tag to Sammy Watkins.
Mike Wright
Say they did not assign. We are past that.
Jason Moore
They did not assign the franchise tag to Sammy Watkins.
Mike Wright
Gotta stay current.
Jason Moore
So now he's an unrestricted free agent.
Robbie Kim
Yeah. The thoughts out there are that the Los Angeles Rams are still going to go hard after Sammy. Some of the moves they've made recently, getting rid of forthcoming expensive assets on the defensive side might be because they want to, you know, make a strong offer for Watkins. But Watkins most certainly will test the open market and, you know, look, highest bidder is probably going to win the services of Sammy.
Jason Moore
Yeah, it's strange. I mean, obviously they wanted to tag lamarcus Joyner, but I just think it's.
Mike Wright
It's a matter of, you can't pay Sammy Watkins tag money. No, he's going to be looking for that out on the free market, but what is. What has he done to say, okay, we're comfortable Giving you top five money?
Robbie Kim
He's great.
Jason Moore
He's 24 years old.
Mike Wright
He's 24 years old.
Jason Moore
That's what's going to get him paid. But you're right about that, and that's what they're evaluating. What's the value there? I mean, he did not catch a ton of passes. He was a valuable red zone guy. I think this is one half of the free agent equation for me. He needs. Now that he's not tagged, it's time to move on. I think he's going elsewhere. Brent Sellecks coming back for the Eagles. That's not important. He's a blocking tight end. Michael Bennett acquired by the Eagles.
Mike Wright
Important because the Eagles just keep bringing guys in and keeping guys and staying strong, and it's obnoxious.
Robbie Kim
Yeah. Tell that to Trey. Boo. Boo.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he's going to leave. Trey Burton. Michael Bennett, on the way into Philadelphia. The Seahawks have traded him for a fifth round pick. And Marcus Johnson, wide receiver from the Eagles. And it's just kind of a headline.
Mike Wright
Congratulations.
Robbie Kim
Good time to be an Eagles fan right now.
Jason Moore
There was a time, I mean, not in the distant past, where acquiring a bunch of superstars didn't pan out exactly. For the Eagles. Do you recall this was very recent.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
Namdi Asamoah and Vince Young and the guarantee. So if games were played on paper, we could just. The Vikings could just sign Cousins and then we can award them the trophy because they would just say, you know, we got to the championship game and then now we added Kirk Cousins.
Robbie Kim
The Eagles won the Super Bowl.
Jason Moore
The Super Bowl.
Mike Wright
And now they're adding elite defenders and.
Robbie Kim
Getting back their star quarterback.
Jason Moore
And how often does. Yeah, they're getting their star quarterback back who was injured. And how hard is it to get back? How hard is it to even be competitive? I'm not saying they won't be. I'm not saying this is a bad signing. I'm just saying it's very hard in the NFL to do that. Richard Sherman, he's told his teammates goodbye over the last 24 hours. You know, defensive player, but he may be heading out the door.
Mike Wright
Very bizarre.
Jason Moore
Kenny Brett. The patriots exercise the 2018 option on Kenny Brett. That just makes him maybe a dynasty stat.
Mike Wright
Well, there's. There's very little risk for the Patriots. There's still no guarantee that Kenny Brett will be on the team.
Jason Moore
Patriots released Martellus Bennett. There you go. And then the Jags, they believe they're not. They didn't franchise tag Alan Robinson. So suddenly, Sammy Watkins, Alan Robinson, two huge names, two fantasy relevant names available.
Robbie Kim
Which ironically could hurt Jarvis Landry's ability to find. Yeah. To find that trade partner.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Because there has been talk about. I mean, the Bears come up in every discussion about why the Niners come up. The Ravens come up in conversation. Yeah. What else? Anything else?
Mike Wright
Well, there's whispers from the bushes being reported by Adam Schefter that the Lions tight end Eric Ebron, his name was floating around during the combine that he could be available for trade, but that remains to be seen.
Robbie Kim
If you want him, he's available. Pass him the ball.
Mike Wright
Fair point.
Robbie Kim
That's all I'm saying. As an Eric Ebron truther.
Jason Moore
But will he catch It.
Robbie Kim
Yes, yes, he will.
Jason Moore
Sometimes. Multiple sources reporting that Dion Lewis remaining a patriot seems like a long shot.
Mike Wright
Yep.
Jason Moore
So I think on the show the other day, none of us had him going back to New England.
Mike Wright
No, he's gonna go get.
Jason Moore
If you missed the Tuesday episode, go back and listen. That was our free agency prediction episode. Go do that now. As opposed to like in a week and a half when we were wrong.
Robbie Kim
About everybody listen immediately. You know, after the. Whatever it is, the 15th, we should take that episode down.
Jason Moore
No, no, no. Because Sammy Watkins has already been not franchise and he's going to sign with the Cowboys soon and then I'll be a genius.
Robbie Kim
There you go. After Des gets released.
Jason Moore
All right, before we jump into today's big segment, which is, by the way, a dynasty keep trade cut, we're going to debate and play a little keep trade cut. And it's gonna be fun.
Robbie Kim
These are really good. We're gonna talk about a lot of questions.
Jason Moore
Brooks did a good job this time.
Robbie Kim
Yeah, this was the first. And we're going to talk about a lot of different players and how their outlook is compared to one another in similar tiers. Really, really cool segment. And Brooks, you did a bang up job. Yeah.
Jason Moore
Well done. But before we do that, I want to thank Casper, sponsor of today's episode. Look, Casper is a sleep brand that continues to revolutionize its line of products to create an exceptionally comfortable sleep experience one night at a time. Now that's. That's the line, right? Mike Wright
We want to thank Pristine Auction for sponsoring the show. The best sports memorabilia site on the entire Internet.
Jason Moore
Well, they're probably carrying memorabilia of you now. Now that you've had that interaction at the local hamburger shop.
Mike Wright
Oh, yes, the autograph.
Robbie Kim
We waxed auction.
Mike Wright
We waxed. I signed it.
Jason Moore
Oh, my gosh.
Mike Wright
JSA was there. We certified it.
Jason Moore
Oh, man.
Mike Wright
But back to reality, ladies and gentlemen. Pristine Auction. This is where you go for your. Your authentic signatures on jerseys. We always have a jersey up on the wall. Who's up today?
Robbie Kim
Brooks.
Mike Wright
We got Kareem Hunt on the wall. I got that thing for right around $70. These prices.
Robbie Kim
Yes.
Mike Wright
Signed by Kareem Hunt on a Kareem Hunt jersey. Imagine that. Some other things that have recently gone on Pristine Auction. A Ty Hilton signed Colts logo, football, $67. A Will Fuller signed official NFL football, $53. A Corey Davis signed jersey for $38.
Robbie Kim
Whoa. Someone stole it.
Mike Wright
Someone's sleeping. Sleeping on Corey Davis. So if you want to check out this, they have hundreds of new things every single day. Go check them out. PR I S T I N E Auction dot com. You make a completely free account. You only pay for what you win. It's a bidding system. It's fantastic. Bristolianauction.com. tell them the fantasy footballer sent you.
Andy Holloway
Keep trade cut.
Jason Moore
Just to be clear, Pristine Auction did not invent the auction.
Mike Wright
No. Did I say they invented the auction?
Jason Moore
No, but you always talk about it like it's a new system.
Mike Wright
No, I talk about it because one.
Jason Moore
Person bids and then the next person bids.
Mike Wright
No, because there's other sites that shall remain nameless where you pay for your bids. And I want to make sure people know that's not.
Robbie Kim
That's bullcrap.
Jason Moore
That would not be pristine, and that's.
Mike Wright
Not how things work over here.
Jason Moore
All right, let's talk about a dynasty. Keep trade cut. All right, just a reminder. This is not the framework for how we're asking these questions. Is a dynasty league. All right? So players that you have a large roster, you have them for a long period of time. And so we're not talking redraft, we're talking dynasty. Keep trade cut. And we're going to start right here. Age comes into play. Age comes into play. Jamal Williams, Samaj P. Ryan, Alex Collins.
Robbie Kim
Give. Give the ages of each guy.
Jason Moore
I think Williams is 22. P. Ryan's 22. Alex Collins is 23. Dynasty keep. One trade, one cut.
Mike Wright
One man.
Jason Moore
This was. This one was. This one was plain to me.
Mike Wright
Really?
Jason Moore
Yeah. I did look at this one. Jason and I talked about it in the studio yesterday.
Mike Wright
Thanks for involving me.
Jason Moore
You were. You were laying on the couch. You were not feel. You're not feeling well.
Mike Wright
Mike, you don't remember this keep, trade, blah.
Robbie Kim
Yeah, I'm going to straight.
Mike Wright
You went trade the blah.
Robbie Kim
I'll lead us off because I think I was pretty clear on this too. And I know Andy, we had different takes here.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Let Mike go last because that will.
Robbie Kim
Sure. So I, you know, I was going to keep or I would keep Alex Collins. I realize Kenneth Dixon is there and could encroach, but I believe in the talent of Alex Collins, what we saw last year. I think he is going to be the running back going forward as for Baltimore and you know, and so all three of these guys are really in that situation where you're saying they're young, they can be really good for fantasy when they get the opportunity. But is it actually theirs? I don't think Jamal Williams has established that role. Especially with Ty Montgomery there, Aaron Jones there and Samaj P. Ryan. Mike, I know you. You. You suggested not sleeping on the Washington offensive line. The Washington run game for 2018. That's a fair point. I would, I would. I would trade Jamal Williams, cut P. Ryan and keep Alex Collins.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I would. I would keep P. Ryan. P. Ryan's my keep. Jamal is my trade. I'd cut Alex Collins. Collins has, by my estimation, while he had a good year, I don't think he factors in the same way that the other players do to their respective teams and depth charts and the pedigree aspect. And so I would go with P. Ryan in this situation. Mike, I'm curious by the way we're playing keep, trade, cut. We are playing a game here. We are not saying go cut Alex Collins. If you're in a dynasty league, you don't cut on your roster. We're not cutting anybody. But in this game, you get a choice. You have to. You have to keep one trade, one, cut one. I'm keeping P. Ride.
Mike Wright
Mike, man, I. I think we're all going to have different takes here. I am going. I'm going to. No, because I got. I'm keeping P. Ryan here.
Jason Moore
So we do not have different take.
Mike Wright
Did you say. Who were you. Who was your trade?
Jason Moore
I traded Jamal Williams.
Robbie Kim
I think Jamal Williams is the right trade because there are always in every league. Pro tip. There is a giant packers fan in every single league that I've ever played in. And they will pay up too much for a guy like Jamal Williams.
Mike Wright
Well, I think Jamal Williams will eventually be moved to the back of the line.
Robbie Kim
Right now they will just keep cutting.
Mike Wright
In front of him in best ball.
Robbie Kim
Leagues you know you go play on draft with us draft.comballers Jamal Williams is the first running back taken off the board in green base.
Mike Wright
I would not do that.
Robbie Kim
That's why, I mean if you, if you're wanting a trade candidate, his value right now is as the starting running back or perceived starting running back versus I don't, I don't think that's the case. And I will say this, even though I like Alex Collins, we should throw the caution out there that a lot of the opportunity did come via injury. And we have the case study there with Kamar Aiken, who had his breakout season due to injury. And then it was like, yeah, no, you weren't the guy we were really wanting.
Mike Wright
Justin for set had it because of suspension. And it's this is an interesting one because Jamal Williams of the three as of right now seems like the most secure guy because Samaji Pierre Washington's not committing to him. We'll see what they do in the draft. Alex Collins not under contract and the most recent update of him was that Harbaugh would not commit to Alex Collins. But I guess so I misheard what Andy said. But we're in agreement. I would keep P. Ryan, trade Williams and cut Collins.
Jason Moore
All right, keep, trade, cut Theo Riddick, 26 years old, Chris Thompson 27 years old or James White, 26 years old.
Robbie Kim
I'm going to this one super easy.
Jason Moore
I'm going to kick it off for me, it's keeping Chris Thompson, I'm cutting James White and I'm going to trade Theoretic.
Robbie Kim
Really? You are going to trade Theoretic to me?
Jason Moore
Sure.
Robbie Kim
I traded for Theo Riddick last season in our dynasty league. And I believe that Theo Riddick is the asset I want here because while we definitely saw last year, right, Chris Thompson was electric. He was the much better fantasy asset. What we've also seen through Chris Thompson for his entire career. We saw that again, which is injury. I don't believe that you're getting 16 games of great production out of Chris Thompson in 2018 or 2019 or ever. And with Theo Riddick, his pass catching ability has really set him apart. We talked on one of those stats episode a couple weeks ago about how Theo Riddick, if you look over the last three, four, five years, he is up at the lead or in the top 5 of receptions at the running back position. When you're talking dynasty, you're talking deeper starters, usually an extra flex position or more running backs and wide receivers. Theo Riddick is a startable asset. He's not going to. He might not have the upside that Chris Thompson has, but he has the security of guaranteed volume and a higher probability of playing it. So I'm going to keep Theo, probably trade Chris Thompson, cut James White, and.
Mike Wright
I'm going to keep the guy who has more receptions than Theo Riddick the past two years, and that's James White.
Jason Moore
Wow.
Mike Wright
Because he's had 56 last year, 60 the year before, and Theoretic is 53 each of the last two years.
Jason Moore
The reason I didn't keep Riddick is because I think that time has come and gone for him to be the 80 catch.
Mike Wright
Right.
Jason Moore
Force fed out of the backfield. No other option. They're going to fix some things in their offensive depth chart there, so I.
Mike Wright
Lean that way as well. And it's not that I dislike Theoretic, I'm just. I'm going to keep James White. But I completely agree with Jason's take on Chris Thompson, that his value is extremely high right now. But he. The guy's body just betrays him. He's an amazing player but can't stay on the field. So I'm going to go with James White.
Robbie Kim
Brooks, so far you are two for two on these. We are keeping different players here.
Jason Moore
We wanted them to be difficult. Look, this show is not about telling you what to do. It's about discussing these players in a. In a way that reflects actual opinions on them and then letting you decide what you want to do. So let's go with another fairly difficult one. Robbie Anderson, 24 years old, big year last year. Robert Woods, 26 years old, wide receiver for the Rams. Or Martevis Bryant, which, by the way, Brooks, you should have found another Robbie or Robert. So. Or a Bob or something.
Mike Wright
Robert Kraft.
Jason Moore
So Robbie Anderson, 24. Robert Woods, 26. Robert Kraft, 87.
Robbie Kim
I don't know.
Mike Wright
Just guessing.
Jason Moore
Robert Kraft is 76.
Mike Wright
Oh, I'm sorry. Robert.
Jason Moore
In the Dynasty league. I'm not keeping him.
Mike Wright
He doesn't look a day over 82.
Jason Moore
But he is the richest. Martavis Bryant, 26 years old. What would you do with those three? It's interesting. It's interesting. I think Anderson has the highest ceiling of all if the stars align.
Robbie Kim
You think Anderson has a higher ceiling than Martavis Bryant? Yeah, if stars align for all three.
Jason Moore
But yes, yes. Yeah. I mean, because you have to. In a Dynasty league. You have to say, Martavius Bryant is a Pittsburgh Steeler right now. He is also the third most valuable wide receiver on the Steelers. That's all. That's all I need. To know to not keep him.
Robbie Kim
Yeah. And you've got. I'm going to keep Anderson quarterback.
Jason Moore
I'm going to keep Anderson.
Robbie Kim
Robbie Anderson is mine as well.
Mike Wright
I am shocked because I looked at this one.
Jason Moore
Dynasty.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
I don't care if he gets a four game suspension or something.
Mike Wright
Oh, I don't. I don't either.
Robbie Kim
Are you saying because you like so you'd keep Woods?
Mike Wright
Robert woods is the easy keep for me. Number one offense. Sean McVay, I believe in him moving forward.
Robbie Kim
You believe that Robert woods will be the one the Cooper cup won't step up Josh Reynolds, even if they do.
Mike Wright
Step up, Robert woods is still the number one. To me that one was. That's so interesting that we are.
Robbie Kim
That Robert woods is going to be a huge discussion for redraft in 2018. Forget dynasty. When we come to this next year where you rank Robert woods among all fantasy analysts in the community is it's going to be wide and vast because either you are going to believe that he retains that role, let's say Sammy leaves, he retains that role and it grows. Or you're going to believe that these young guys that they drafted last year are going to step up and encroach on those numbers. And I mean I could see Robert woods being a guy that some people are saying drafting the, you know, fourth and some people are saying draft in the 10th. Yeah.
Mike Wright
I'm not saying he's a one. He's a wide receiver too. He only had five touchdowns and those came, you know, four of those came in two games. So I just, I think he's safe while Robbie Anderson is. Yeah, he's kind of all over the place.
Jason Moore
So stay water. You've talked me into Robert Woods. I would trade. I would, I would keep Woods. You do have the added. You know, one of the things we talk about in Dynasty is you can't constantly be thinking about three years in the future. You cannot constantly be looking at the age next to the player. You need to also think about, you know, Robbie Anderson, quarterback issue, legal issue. Where Robert woods best offense. You've talked me into it. Robert woods is my keep. Anderson's my trait.
Mike Wright
This is not Robbie Anderson's first no run in with the law. There is a pattern of problems for Robbie Anderson. Hopefully gets them worked out.
Robbie Kim
Now what will your opinion change when Brooks's ironclad stone cold lock of Kirk Cousins to the jets comes. Comes to fruition?
Mike Wright
It actually will not.
Robbie Kim
That would not sway you.
Mike Wright
That would not sway me.
Robbie Kim
All right. You know, I don't blame you guys. Offensive Mindy and I in Los Angeles for, for several years going back to the Buffalo days, really enjoyed Robert woods game and you know, he doesn't get a lot of respect. I'm still not changing. I'm sticking with Robbie Anderson.
Jason Moore
Yeah, you're right though. I always liked. He always passed the eye test. I said that before last year's signing. That you never know. And then of course Sammy Watkins gets signed.
Mike Wright
Well, traded for.
Jason Moore
Yes. I'm just saying then he would seem like he had his shot and then Watkins get signed and the perception was that he's the two.
Mike Wright
Well, if you watch the camera, Robert woods actually stared Sammy Watkins down every time he caught the ball.
Jason Moore
Well, that obviously scared Watkins off of about 40 catches. All right, this one's fun because you have to keep one, trade one, cut one. Got to make some decisions. Alvin Kamara.
Mike Wright
You'Re trying to sway them.
Jason Moore
Or Leonard Fournette in a dynasty league. Alvin Kamara, Kareem Hunt and Leonard Fournette.
Robbie Kim
Brooks is great.
Jason Moore
Brooks, have you read anything on these players recently that have been published by fantasy experts, personalities, anything like that? Yes, I have. What did you read? Out of curiosity?
Mike Wright
I read an article by Andy Holloway.
Jason Moore
You have the blarg? Yes. Got the blur? Yeah, my article exists.
Robbie Kim
Yeah, it's live on the fantasy footballers.com Andy's case for Camara and honestly reading it, I think it was a quality case made for his volume to go up. Based on evidence of last year.
Jason Moore
This is still a tough question.
Robbie Kim
I will be trading Alvin Camara to Andy and I will keep Kareem Hunt. I don't know how. Look, I love both players. I want both players. That's great. But if I have to pick one in a dynasty league, I'm picking the guy who led the league in rushing yards with Andy Reid. Andy Reid's running backs, they produce guaranteed. And Andy Reid is not retiring.
Mike Wright
So does Sean Payton, so does Sean.
Robbie Kim
Payton's, but so does Sean Payton's. With Drew Brees. Yes. And we don't know. I mean Camara is a pass catching running back. He fills that role just so perfect. But if Drew Brees comes back for one more year and then retires, will Adam Camara be able to be what we saw in open space and hit in stride and all those perfect things when you don't have Drew Brees as the guy getting him the ball in those situations. So for that, for, for those reasons, I'm out. So.
Mike Wright
But the Shark Tank, the interesting, the interesting thing here is the third Name is.
Robbie Kim
I know.
Mike Wright
Not even talking about Leonard Fernet.
Jason Moore
Just for goodness sakes, can you. Can you make a note? We need a Shark Tank segment. Done deal.
Robbie Kim
Oh, yeah.
Jason Moore
I don't know what's wrong with us.
Robbie Kim
We got to find a way.
Jason Moore
The fact that this hasn't happened is ridiculous.
Mike Wright
I love it.
Jason Moore
We'll figure it out.
Mike Wright
My brain is churning.
Jason Moore
Oh, we'll figure it out.
Mike Wright
Shark tanks. But it's also. So, Jason, it only took one, one season of watching Kareem Hunt, who is amazing that to sway you over Leonard Fournette, who.
Jason Moore
See, that's what I thought he was. Naturally for me, it's between Camara and Fournette. That's. That's my play. And I'm going to go with the shelf life and production of Camara only because I think past catchers, you can do it for a long time.
Mike Wright
Right.
Robbie Kim
But anyway, I agree with that.
Mike Wright
Do you have anything in particular that has led you away from Fournette?
Robbie Kim
I like all three of these guys. I would want all three of these guys. But since they're all excellent running backs at a young age, the tiebreakers are pretty easy for me when you look at injury history and probability of what those injuries were with Leonard Fournette as well as the team. Now I realize the Jacksonville Jaguars were awesome this last year and they've got some young pieces. They could be great going forward. I do have trust issues there. I've got trust issues that they are going to stay what we saw in 2017. Just from the standpoint of usually bad teams, they come back to bed now. The Bengals turned it around, right? They were. They were a really poor team for a long stretch.
Mike Wright
Are you talking about a 360 though?
Robbie Kim
Yeah, well, they're getting close to the 360 but, you know, so I don't want to throw shade on the Jaguars, but it's the combo of not trusting the Jaguars, the offense there, Blake Bortles and his injury history that just sways me off.
Mike Wright
And I'm with you that Leonard Fournette of these three is my cut because of the repeated lower body injuries. Just some slight concerns.
Jason Moore
You have to pick. You have to pick something to go on in this. Keep, trade, cut. All of them have a nice dynasty future.
Robbie Kim
Yeah, I'm going to keep all three.
Mike Wright
Keep all three rules and I'm win a champion. I'm going to keep. I'm going to keep Kareem Hunt just based off of. And we've trade value for Camara.
Jason Moore
All right. I want to get into the mailbag on the show. So I'm going to keep us on one more because I think one more of these is really fun. Jordan Reed, Tyler Ifert or Cameron Brait? Cape trade. Cut Reed. Ifert. Brait. Oh, my God. I'm going to keep Reed.
Mike Wright
No, you got to keep Cameron Brait.
Robbie Kim
No, I'm keeping Jordan Reed.
Jason Moore
I'm keeping Jordan Reed.
Mike Wright
Jordan Reed is not long for the NFL.
Robbie Kim
Look, I completely not long this.
Mike Wright
I am, I feel like I am Mr. Jordan Reed.
Jason Moore
Right, so you're being the most honest here.
Mike Wright
It's, it's over. You can't, you can't sustain the injuries and the amount of head injuries that Jordan Reed has received and just, and keep playing football.
Robbie Kim
This is the way that I see this question. You're talking about your backup tight end here. On a dynasty roster, you cannot possibly have one of these guys be your primary tight end. And so if I'm looking at a backup and I've got another tight end on my roster, then I'm looking for upside, and that is Jordan Reed. Jordan Reed has far and away the highest upside here. You know, with Alex Smith coming in, we know that he's utilized the tight end before. So I, you know, I would keep Jordan Reed and I'd probably trade Tyler Iford after he signs somewhere and cut Cameron Brake. Because even though Cameron Braid very well could score more fantasy points from here to the rest of eternity, you're just not getting value. He's one of those again, under respected guys. Especially with O.J. howard. Well, it's Tampa Bay.
Mike Wright
It's a long term approach for me. For Cameron Braid, he's likely to be back with the Buccaneers. He's one of those exclusive rights free agents, which is nonsense for these players.
Robbie Kim
Not really a free agent.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I mean, so that means he'll, he will be back with Tampa Bay more than likely. So I would keep him just because next year he will be, in my opinion, one of the hot tight ends on the free agent market. So I'm going to hold on to Cameron Brait because these other two guys are just never on the field.
Jason Moore
All right, all right. I think we want to answer some questions from the foot clan, so let's do that right now.
Andy Holloway
Mailbag, Mailbag.
Jason Moore
It's rare that your mailbag scream actually hits me in the face, but that one, it grazed. It grazed me a little bit. I could feel it. Visit the website, click the Submit a question button. You can send in your question to the show. We love answering your questions. We love helping you dominate your fantasy league. You can also dial our voicemail hotline, 302464, TFFB. Mike Wright
Perhaps an unsolved mystery segment.
Robbie Kim
Another podcast to be made.
Jason Moore
Eddie Spaghetti, you can call as well.
Mike Wright
It's like we have our own version of Atlanta Monster, but it's us looking for Tony Meatball.
Jason Moore
Yes. Yeah, we need to do. I'm really into the crime podcast right now. Mike. I know you want to make music. You're doing crime podcast, right?
Mike Wright
I do. I'm gonna bust out my 80s synth. Oh, my goodness.
Jason Moore
You know, every once in a while you see the sitcoms, they have like the themed episode, like the Office. There's an episode where they just. You're only watching Michael Scott's home movie for the whole episode. We need one episode of this show. Maybe it's a bonus, but it's done in the dramatic storytelling fashion.
Robbie Kim
Mike.
Jason Moore
Mike is like.
Robbie Kim
Mike's excited.
Jason Moore
Do I get to make synth music? Yes, you do.
Mike Wright
You've. You piqued my interest.
Jason Moore
You had my curiosity.
Mike Wright
Exactly.
Jason Moore
All right, this one comes in from Tyler in Canada. Oh, bonjour, Bonjour. He says, love the show. Started listening to you guys last year. Just won my first championship.
Robbie Kim
Of course you did.
Jason Moore
Tyler going into a dynasty.
Mike Wright
Congratulations.
Jason Moore
Tyler going into a dynasty league this year with a super flex. Just wondering how a super flex changes your draft strategy. Have never written a sentence using the word super flex so often. Super Flex.
Robbie Kim
He says it changes your draft strategy a lot. And I would say if it's a dynasty super flex, usually in a dynasty league, we get the question all the time. Especially since we did that dynasty segment. Well, what do you do with quarterbacks? You know, they've got a much longer shelf life. Do you draft them a little bit higher? And usually they do go a little bit higher. But you could still wait on quarterbacks. You can. You know, a couple years ago when we did our ballers startup dynasty draft, Mike waited. Got great value late with Kirk Cousins and Jameis Winston. You could do it. But I believe in a super Flex, which is basically a two quarterback league when you're in a dynasty and you have the shelf lives. If you're doing a startup draft, I'm going to go after a quarterback early. I want one.
Mike Wright
What do you want? Define early?
Jason Moore
First three rounds.
Robbie Kim
Oh, definitely. I mean, in a super Flex, I.
Jason Moore
Feel the same way in a super flex.
Robbie Kim
I'm not waiting to my fourth round to take a quarterback. I'm just not.
Mike Wright
And I'm willing to. I'm willing to.
Jason Moore
Even at a dynasty, Mike?
Robbie Kim
Yeah. Yeah.
Mike Wright
Because I think there's still those mid tier quarterbacks that. The reason you, you want them early, Jason, is the reason I want them later is because there are veterans that I think still have a solid enough shelf life to get them late.
Jason Moore
It's very tough.
Robbie Kim
I'm definitely not taking both.
Jason Moore
Would you take one young quality in a dynasty? Would you take more total quarterbacks if you're drafting them later? I'm saying yes, because I feel like you're not going to win that dynasty super flex league without one of those quarterbacks performing inside that top 10. And so if you're taking bets on even, you know, I understand you want to recognize players that are going to perform, but your odds of guaranteeing that top 10 performance go down the later you wait. So would you take more and hope for.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I would. I would be looking to have at least four guys. Okay, three. You have to have three minimum. But I'm trying to sneak a fourth in there.
Jason Moore
All right, this question's fun. This is from Evan in Chicago because we've thrown some of these questions around. With Saquon Barkley in a rookie dynasty draft, would you give up the 105 Mark Ingram and Adam Thielen for the 101 to take Barkley?
Robbie Kim
No way.
Jason Moore
He says he thinks Barkley could put him over the edge to get that hashtag foot clan title.
Robbie Kim
No.
Jason Moore
What if you're not dependent on Thielen? What if your team is not dependent on Adam Thielen?
Robbie Kim
Your team is better with Thielen even if you're not dependent on Thielen. Yeah, this isn't even close to me.
Jason Moore
I would. Okay, let's. Let's substitute a name. Would you do 105 Mark Ingram, Adam Thielen for Todd Gurley or Lev Bell?
Robbie Kim
I would not.
Mike Wright
I probably would not either.
Jason Moore
Well, then that makes it clear.
Robbie Kim
And that. Yeah, that makes it clear. But then you have to recognize right now if you're doing any kind of this trades, you know, I've made an offer for Saquon or for the 101.
Mike Wright
Sure.
Robbie Kim
Right now in our dynasty league, I think maybe all three of us have, and that's pre NFL draft. But you do have to keep in mind there's a solid chance here that Saquon goes to the Cleveland Browns. And yes, he is good enough to be a great running back wherever he goes. But he won't be. He'll be Todd Gurley 2 years ago when he was on a Bad Rams Team vs Todd Gurley this last year. You know, he's not going to be the David Johnson 20 touchdowns because the Browns aren't going to score enough.
Mike Wright
And we're not even putting a Name to the 105.
Robbie Kim
Right.
Mike Wright
The 105.
Jason Moore
You could get Eleanor Roosevelt.
Mike Wright
You could definitely get Eleanor Roosevelt at the 105.
Jason Moore
Should probably drop to the second round, though. And then you'd be wasting your pick.
Mike Wright
You could pick her up with Fab. Let's. Let's be serious. But the 105.
Jason Moore
Let's be serious.
Mike Wright
You're. I don't know why the 105.
Robbie Kim
You can get a great asset.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Robbie Kim
Yes.
Mike Wright
You're going to get a Great player at 105. Yes, we heard the same thing. Yes, we did.
Jason Moore
All right, let's just close it out with this important question from Greg in Van Patten. Why is Brooks called Paul Giamatti?
Robbie Kim
Oh, that's a great song.
Jason Moore
Here's the real thing. Why is Brooks Paul Giamatti? Why is he actually Paul Giamatti?
Mike Wright
Because he was born from Paul Giamatti's mother.
Robbie Kim
Yeah, yeah, of course.
Mike Wright
And he is Paul Giamatti.
Robbie Kim
Yeah, yeah. There you go.
Jason Moore
Is that the answer that they wanted?
Robbie Kim
No, they wanted the real answer. The real answer is this. I'll say the real answer.
Jason Moore
Tell the real story. It's March on one of the footcasts. These are the true listeners.
Robbie Kim
Those are our Thursday shows that we do for the listeners of Join the.
Mike Wright
Foot supporters on Join the vm.
Robbie Kim
Thank you, Foot Clan. The question was asked, if a celebrity were to play each of us in a movie, who would it be? And we were naming whoever it would be. And Andy just immediately threw out. He goes, well, what would be the worst thing for Brooks? Paul Giamatti.
Jason Moore
And it was. It was the worst thing and it has stuck.
Mike Wright
The reason we know it was the worst is because later there was an opportunity for Brooks to make an offender official nickname change to Voldemort. And the snake face.
Jason Moore
Noseless man, monster, pale monster.
Mike Wright
And he wanted to. So we had no choice but to keep it as Paul Giamatti.
Jason Moore
He was happier with the demon snake.
Mike Wright
Shall not be named.
Jason Moore
Right, right.
Robbie Kim
Yes. Thank you.
Jason Moore
And so we may or may not have, you know, since that time bought a very high resolution, close up pale picture of Giamatti and put it behind him. And people, he's an award winning actor. People have sent in a variety of Paul Giamatti materials and look, it's just. It is what it is. That's what Brooks has accepted.
Robbie Kim
Judge Voldemort does not ring the same.
Mike Wright
Before you close out the show, there was we had a quick question from from Joe in Darlington who's asking about just a feature of the UDK because we talk about we have rookie rankings. The UDK is released on June 1, which is too late for a lot of people because the rookie drafts just so people know and they're aware. Joe, thank you for asking this. We, we release our rookie ranking shortly after the NFL draft takes place.
Robbie Kim
Right. So you go to the UDK page and it'll say coming soon. But in the meantime there will be the rookie rankings. You'll have access to there before the.
Mike Wright
Full UDK is available.
Jason Moore
That is so true. That is accurate.
Mike Wright
That's also true.
Jason Moore
Thanks for listening to the show. Come on back next week.
Mike Wright
Play some best ball@draft.com ballers. It's the place to be.
Jason Moore
All right. Goodbye.
Mike Wright
Goodbye.
