Quick question of the day. On a recent show, we answered a quick question about teardrop candidates. Okay. We're talking about tiers in terms of players at a position last year. What we have probably with comparable numbers. Yeah, with comparable numbers. So when you're looking at drafting players in your upcoming draft, a lot of the times we say, hey, let's look at the wide receivers. Let's look at the running backs, who's left as a Tier 1 or Tier 2 as opposed to moving on to like a Tier 3 guy at a different position. What player do you think could make a tier jump in 2018? And we do put our rankings in with tiers in the ultimate draft kit as well. So who's a player that could jump into the. Into a top tier at their position?

[Robbie Kim]

I'll lead us off here. I think Tariq Cohen is a perfect style of player to take a tear jump because he is. I mean, we saw, everybody saw that, that looked at Tariq Cohen, running back for the Chicago Bears rookie last season, that he was extremely talented. He had the same thing when you watch Tyreek Hill, where you just go, he's faster than everyone around him on the football field in pads. He's outrunning everybody. But I think he was poorly utilized. And they did not have a creative offense. They did not have an offense that set people up to get the ball in space. And now you have Matt Nagy coming in. I think with the, you know, the kind of college offensive coordinator coming in, I believe that they will be able to utilize Tariq Cohen's substantial skill much better. And I think he'll take a tear, jump up. He'll be a very relevant, draftable running back.

Like Chris Thompson.

[Robbie Kim]

Exactly.

Brooks, who have I made several trades for in the past week?

Yeah, offers. Offers. Tariq Cohen. Yeah, I've sent Brooks many, many an offer for Treat Cohen. So that's my way of saying, jason, I agree with you. Now, I made my offers also because I'm going to ruin any opportunity of getting them now. You ruined that. But there's been some question about whether Jordan Howard is a fit for that offense at all because he has zero pass catching ability. The drops, they are. There are a. Plenty of drops.

Yeah, Alligator smash. So that's all to say if Jordan Howard was shipped off because there's been trade rumors?

I think teams were inquiring, but Chicago said they're not trading.

Well, that would make me like him more if he was gone.

We're going into the season with Tariq Cohen is our only role.

You'd have to bring somebody else in. All right, I'm going to go with Josh Gordon. I don't know if that's cheating. I don't know if that counts because he's been great before, but I think he's going to be drafted as a tier one, tier two type guy.

[Mike Wright]

So where do you think he'll be drafted?

[Jason Moore]

Maybe tier two.

[Mike Wright]

Okay. I see Josh Gordon easily being drafted in the fourth.

[Jason Moore]

If you look at the number of draft picks that the Browns have, it is so far and away more than any other team in the NFL. They have 160something% of their normal amount of draft picks that a team would have on a regular year. They have a new offensive coordinator. They have a coach that has a ton of confidence in Josh Gordon. They have an inevitable. An inevitability of improving at the quarterback position over the course of the year.

[Mike Wright]

Probably I wouldn't go as far as say inevitable.

[Jason Moore]

It's very, it's very possible.

I think it, I think it would be because even if they stuck with Kaiser, he'll get better and if they bring in a higher drafted rookie, well.

They'Re bringing somebody in.

[Robbie Kim]

Sure. Then you know, I have to imagine that that person coming in at the one or four spot is more.

[Mike Wright]

What if that person is AJ McCarron?

[Jason Moore]

That's fine.

I think AJ McCarron, while I'm not in love with him, is better than last year's Deshaun Kaiser.

[Jason Moore]

A.J. mcCarron did not destroy A.J. green in Cincinnati when he had limited opportunity with him. So I think Josh Gordon is that guy that could go, let's just say from tier two to tier one. Let's say that that's fair.

[Mike Wright]

And I'm going with a volume situation and I'm not trying to talk about pert plus Bolayer. I'm talking about a guy getting the ball more than he did last year and that's Joe Mixon, running back from the Cincinnati Bengals. He's gonna what he was at I think right around 180 carries or so. That'll be up in the 200s. Get those receptions up 40 to 50. He will. He will volume style his way to be a running back too.

And there's. There's still the possibility that he improves efficiency. I mean absolutely. It's a lot more likely to me that Joe Mixon would go up in efficiency than it would be camara to sustain his efficiency.

[Mike Wright]

Oh, I completely agree. I'm just saying that to the point.

Offensive line struggled immensely.

That can improve of Joe Mixon should just stumble and bumble his way to being a running back.

He can be a running back one. He has the skill set to be that. But he will be Drafted, I would guess, starting at the back of the second round.

Oh, and that's based on their revenue?

Yeah, 177.2 million. Every year of late, this has been happening. We've seen more than a pretty significant increase. More than $10 million, I think for something like six straight years. And so this does have implications on some of the decisions that teams are facing. Mike, you brought up the fact that, you know, it had now been rumored, hey, maybe Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb.

Green Bay packers beat reporters talking about, well, it's now theoretically possible that they can just hold on to both of them for this year.

[Jason Moore]

So it gives teams flexibility, opportunity. And, well, the Bills, they use some of that cap room to sign Chris ivory to a two year, $5.55 million contract.

[Robbie Kim]

That's a great sign.

[Mike Wright]

I love, I love it for both.

Mike Tolbert was never a quality backup there. I think Chris Ivory is a valuable handcuff.

Now, in their defense, they weren't trying to use Tolbert as the backup. Sure, it was Tolbert and Trevor's Cadet before Cadet went down. And then it was just, you're stuck with Tolbert.

Yeah. The thoughts out there are that the Los Angeles Rams are still going to go hard after Sammy. Some of the moves they've made recently, getting rid of forthcoming expensive assets on the defensive side might be because they want to, you know, make a strong offer for Watkins. But Watkins most certainly will test the open market and, you know, look, highest bidder is probably going to win the services of Sammy.

Yeah, it's strange. I mean, obviously they wanted to tag lamarcus Joyner, but I just think it's.

It's a matter of, you can't pay Sammy Watkins tag money. No, he's going to be looking for that out on the free market, but what is. What has he done to say, okay, we're comfortable Giving you top five money?

That's what's going to get him paid. But you're right about that, and that's what they're evaluating. What's the value there? I mean, he did not catch a ton of passes. He was a valuable red zone guy. I think this is one half of the free agent equation for me. He needs. Now that he's not tagged, it's time to move on. I think he's going elsewhere. Brent Sellecks coming back for the Eagles. That's not important. He's a blocking tight end. Michael Bennett acquired by the Eagles.

Important because the Eagles just keep bringing guys in and keeping guys and staying strong, and it's obnoxious.

Sure. So I, you know, I was going to keep or I would keep Alex Collins. I realize Kenneth Dixon is there and could encroach, but I believe in the talent of Alex Collins, what we saw last year. I think he is going to be the running back going forward as for Baltimore and you know, and so all three of these guys are really in that situation where you're saying they're young, they can be really good for fantasy when they get the opportunity. But is it actually theirs? I don't think Jamal Williams has established that role. Especially with Ty Montgomery there, Aaron Jones there and Samaj P. Ryan. Mike, I know you. You. You suggested not sleeping on the Washington offensive line. The Washington run game for 2018. That's a fair point. I would, I would. I would trade Jamal Williams, cut P. Ryan and keep Alex Collins.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah, I would. I would keep P. Ryan. P. Ryan's my keep. Jamal is my trade. I'd cut Alex Collins. Collins has, by my estimation, while he had a good year, I don't think he factors in the same way that the other players do to their respective teams and depth charts and the pedigree aspect. And so I would go with P. Ryan in this situation. Mike, I'm curious by the way we're playing keep, trade, cut. We are playing a game here. We are not saying go cut Alex Collins. If you're in a dynasty league, you don't cut on your roster. We're not cutting anybody. But in this game, you get a choice. You have to. You have to keep one trade, one, cut one. I'm keeping P. Ride.

Mike, man, I. I think we're all going to have different takes here. I am going. I'm going to. No, because I got. I'm keeping P. Ryan here.

I think Jamal Williams is the right trade because there are always in every league. Pro tip. There is a giant packers fan in every single league that I've ever played in. And they will pay up too much for a guy like Jamal Williams.

Well, I think Jamal Williams will eventually be moved to the back of the line.

Right now they will just keep cutting.

That's why, I mean if you, if you're wanting a trade candidate, his value right now is as the starting running back or perceived starting running back versus I don't, I don't think that's the case. And I will say this, even though I like Alex Collins, we should throw the caution out there that a lot of the opportunity did come via injury. And we have the case study there with Kamar Aiken, who had his breakout season due to injury. And then it was like, yeah, no, you weren't the guy we were really wanting.

[Mike Wright]

Justin for set had it because of suspension. And it's this is an interesting one because Jamal Williams of the three as of right now seems like the most secure guy because Samaji Pierre Washington's not committing to him. We'll see what they do in the draft. Alex Collins not under contract and the most recent update of him was that Harbaugh would not commit to Alex Collins. But I guess so I misheard what Andy said. But we're in agreement. I would keep P. Ryan, trade Williams and cut Collins.

All right, keep, trade, cut Theo Riddick, 26 years old, Chris Thompson 27 years old or James White, 26 years old.

[Robbie Kim]

I'm going to this one super easy.

I'm going to kick it off for me, it's keeping Chris Thompson, I'm cutting James White and I'm going to trade Theoretic.

[Robbie Kim]

Really? You are going to trade Theoretic to me?

[Jason Moore]

Sure.

[Robbie Kim]

I traded for Theo Riddick last season in our dynasty league. And I believe that Theo Riddick is the asset I want here because while we definitely saw last year, right, Chris Thompson was electric. He was the much better fantasy asset. What we've also seen through Chris Thompson for his entire career. We saw that again, which is injury. I don't believe that you're getting 16 games of great production out of Chris Thompson in 2018 or 2019 or ever. And with Theo Riddick, his pass catching ability has really set him apart. We talked on one of those stats episode a couple weeks ago about how Theo Riddick, if you look over the last three, four, five years, he is up at the lead or in the top 5 of receptions at the running back position. When you're talking dynasty, you're talking deeper starters, usually an extra flex position or more running backs and wide receivers. Theo Riddick is a startable asset. He's not going to. He might not have the upside that Chris Thompson has, but he has the security of guaranteed volume and a higher probability of playing it. So I'm going to keep Theo, probably trade Chris Thompson, cut James White, and.

[Mike Wright]

I'm going to keep the guy who has more receptions than Theo Riddick the past two years, and that's James White.

[Jason Moore]

Wow.

[Mike Wright]

Because he's had 56 last year, 60 the year before, and Theoretic is 53 each of the last two years.

The reason I didn't keep Riddick is because I think that time has come and gone for him to be the 80 catch.

Force fed out of the backfield. No other option. They're going to fix some things in their offensive depth chart there, so I.

Lean that way as well. And it's not that I dislike Theoretic, I'm just. I'm going to keep James White. But I completely agree with Jason's take on Chris Thompson, that his value is extremely high right now. But he. The guy's body just betrays him. He's an amazing player but can't stay on the field. So I'm going to go with James White.

We wanted them to be difficult. Look, this show is not about telling you what to do. It's about discussing these players in a. In a way that reflects actual opinions on them and then letting you decide what you want to do. So let's go with another fairly difficult one. Robbie Anderson, 24 years old, big year last year. Robert Woods, 26 years old, wide receiver for the Rams. Or Martevis Bryant, which, by the way, Brooks, you should have found another Robbie or Robert. So. Or a Bob or something.

So Robbie Anderson, 24. Robert Woods, 26. Robert Kraft, 87.

[Jason Moore]

But yes, yes. Yeah. I mean, because you have to. In a Dynasty league. You have to say, Martavius Bryant is a Pittsburgh Steeler right now. He is also the third most valuable wide receiver on the Steelers. That's all. That's all I need. To know to not keep him.

Yeah. And you've got. I'm going to keep Anderson quarterback.

[Jason Moore]

I'm going to keep Anderson.

[Robbie Kim]

Robbie Anderson is mine as well.

I am shocked because I looked at this one.

Robert woods is the easy keep for me. Number one offense. Sean McVay, I believe in him moving forward.

You believe that Robert woods will be the one the Cooper cup won't step up Josh Reynolds, even if they do.

Step up, Robert woods is still the number one. To me that one was. That's so interesting that we are.

[Robbie Kim]

That Robert woods is going to be a huge discussion for redraft in 2018. Forget dynasty. When we come to this next year where you rank Robert woods among all fantasy analysts in the community is it's going to be wide and vast because either you are going to believe that he retains that role, let's say Sammy leaves, he retains that role and it grows. Or you're going to believe that these young guys that they drafted last year are going to step up and encroach on those numbers. And I mean I could see Robert woods being a guy that some people are saying drafting the, you know, fourth and some people are saying draft in the 10th. Yeah.

[Mike Wright]

I'm not saying he's a one. He's a wide receiver too. He only had five touchdowns and those came, you know, four of those came in two games. So I just, I think he's safe while Robbie Anderson is. Yeah, he's kind of all over the place.

[Jason Moore]

So stay water. You've talked me into Robert Woods. I would trade. I would, I would keep Woods. You do have the added. You know, one of the things we talk about in Dynasty is you can't constantly be thinking about three years in the future. You cannot constantly be looking at the age next to the player. You need to also think about, you know, Robbie Anderson, quarterback issue, legal issue. Where Robert woods best offense. You've talked me into it. Robert woods is my keep. Anderson's my trait.

[Mike Wright]

This is not Robbie Anderson's first no run in with the law. There is a pattern of problems for Robbie Anderson. Hopefully gets them worked out.

[Robbie Kim]

Now what will your opinion change when Brooks's ironclad stone cold lock of Kirk Cousins to the jets comes. Comes to fruition?

[Mike Wright]

It actually will not.

All right. You know, I don't blame you guys. Offensive Mindy and I in Los Angeles for, for several years going back to the Buffalo days, really enjoyed Robert woods game and you know, he doesn't get a lot of respect. I'm still not changing. I'm sticking with Robbie Anderson.

Yeah, you're right though. I always liked. He always passed the eye test. I said that before last year's signing. That you never know. And then of course Sammy Watkins gets signed.

Yes. I'm just saying then he would seem like he had his shot and then Watkins get signed and the perception was that he's the two.

Well, if you watch the camera, Robert woods actually stared Sammy Watkins down every time he caught the ball.

Well, that obviously scared Watkins off of about 40 catches. All right, this one's fun because you have to keep one, trade one, cut one. Got to make some decisions. Alvin Kamara.

Or Leonard Fournette in a dynasty league. Alvin Kamara, Kareem Hunt and Leonard Fournette.

Yeah, it's live on the fantasy footballers.com Andy's case for Camara and honestly reading it, I think it was a quality case made for his volume to go up. Based on evidence of last year.

I will be trading Alvin Camara to Andy and I will keep Kareem Hunt. I don't know how. Look, I love both players. I want both players. That's great. But if I have to pick one in a dynasty league, I'm picking the guy who led the league in rushing yards with Andy Reid. Andy Reid's running backs, they produce guaranteed. And Andy Reid is not retiring.

[Mike Wright]

So does Sean Payton, so does Sean.

[Robbie Kim]

Payton's, but so does Sean Payton's. With Drew Brees. Yes. And we don't know. I mean Camara is a pass catching running back. He fills that role just so perfect. But if Drew Brees comes back for one more year and then retires, will Adam Camara be able to be what we saw in open space and hit in stride and all those perfect things when you don't have Drew Brees as the guy getting him the ball in those situations. So for that, for, for those reasons, I'm out. So.

But the Shark Tank, the interesting, the interesting thing here is the third Name is.

[Robbie Kim]

Not even talking about Leonard Fernet.

Do you have anything in particular that has led you away from Fournette?

[Robbie Kim]

I like all three of these guys. I would want all three of these guys. But since they're all excellent running backs at a young age, the tiebreakers are pretty easy for me when you look at injury history and probability of what those injuries were with Leonard Fournette as well as the team. Now I realize the Jacksonville Jaguars were awesome this last year and they've got some young pieces. They could be great going forward. I do have trust issues there. I've got trust issues that they are going to stay what we saw in 2017. Just from the standpoint of usually bad teams, they come back to bed now. The Bengals turned it around, right? They were. They were a really poor team for a long stretch.

[Mike Wright]

Are you talking about a 360 though?

[Robbie Kim]

Yeah, well, they're getting close to the 360 but, you know, so I don't want to throw shade on the Jaguars, but it's the combo of not trusting the Jaguars, the offense there, Blake Bortles and his injury history that just sways me off.

[Mike Wright]

And I'm with you that Leonard Fournette of these three is my cut because of the repeated lower body injuries. Just some slight concerns.

[Jason Moore]

You have to pick. You have to pick something to go on in this. Keep, trade, cut. All of them have a nice dynasty future.

It's, it's over. You can't, you can't sustain the injuries and the amount of head injuries that Jordan Reed has received and just, and keep playing football.

This is the way that I see this question. You're talking about your backup tight end here. On a dynasty roster, you cannot possibly have one of these guys be your primary tight end. And so if I'm looking at a backup and I've got another tight end on my roster, then I'm looking for upside, and that is Jordan Reed. Jordan Reed has far and away the highest upside here. You know, with Alex Smith coming in, we know that he's utilized the tight end before. So I, you know, I would keep Jordan Reed and I'd probably trade Tyler Iford after he signs somewhere and cut Cameron Brake. Because even though Cameron Braid very well could score more fantasy points from here to the rest of eternity, you're just not getting value. He's one of those again, under respected guys. Especially with O.J. howard. Well, it's Tampa Bay.

[Mike Wright]

It's a long term approach for me. For Cameron Braid, he's likely to be back with the Buccaneers. He's one of those exclusive rights free agents, which is nonsense for these players.

[Robbie Kim]

Not really a free agent.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah, I mean, so that means he'll, he will be back with Tampa Bay more than likely. So I would keep him just because next year he will be, in my opinion, one of the hot tight ends on the free agent market. So I'm going to hold on to Cameron Brait because these other two guys are just never on the field.

Tyler going into a dynasty league this year with a super flex. Just wondering how a super flex changes your draft strategy. Have never written a sentence using the word super flex so often. Super Flex.

[Robbie Kim]

He says it changes your draft strategy a lot. And I would say if it's a dynasty super flex, usually in a dynasty league, we get the question all the time. Especially since we did that dynasty segment. Well, what do you do with quarterbacks? You know, they've got a much longer shelf life. Do you draft them a little bit higher? And usually they do go a little bit higher. But you could still wait on quarterbacks. You can. You know, a couple years ago when we did our ballers startup dynasty draft, Mike waited. Got great value late with Kirk Cousins and Jameis Winston. You could do it. But I believe in a super Flex, which is basically a two quarterback league when you're in a dynasty and you have the shelf lives. If you're doing a startup draft, I'm going to go after a quarterback early. I want one.

[Mike Wright]

What do you want? Define early?

[Jason Moore]

First three rounds.

[Robbie Kim]

Oh, definitely. I mean, in a super Flex, I.

[Jason Moore]

Feel the same way in a super flex.

[Robbie Kim]

I'm not waiting to my fourth round to take a quarterback. I'm just not.

[Mike Wright]

And I'm willing to. I'm willing to.

[Jason Moore]

Even at a dynasty, Mike?

[Robbie Kim]

Yeah. Yeah.

[Mike Wright]

Because I think there's still those mid tier quarterbacks that. The reason you, you want them early, Jason, is the reason I want them later is because there are veterans that I think still have a solid enough shelf life to get them late.

[Jason Moore]

It's very tough.

[Robbie Kim]

I'm definitely not taking both.

[Jason Moore]

Would you take one young quality in a dynasty? Would you take more total quarterbacks if you're drafting them later? I'm saying yes, because I feel like you're not going to win that dynasty super flex league without one of those quarterbacks performing inside that top 10. And so if you're taking bets on even, you know, I understand you want to recognize players that are going to perform, but your odds of guaranteeing that top 10 performance go down the later you wait. So would you take more and hope for.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah, I would. I would be looking to have at least four guys. Okay, three. You have to have three minimum. But I'm trying to sneak a fourth in there.

[Jason Moore]

All right, this question's fun. This is from Evan in Chicago because we've thrown some of these questions around. With Saquon Barkley in a rookie dynasty draft, would you give up the 105 Mark Ingram and Adam Thielen for the 101 to take Barkley?

[Robbie Kim]

No way.

[Jason Moore]

He says he thinks Barkley could put him over the edge to get that hashtag foot clan title.

[Robbie Kim]

No.

[Jason Moore]

What if you're not dependent on Thielen? What if your team is not dependent on Adam Thielen?

[Robbie Kim]

Your team is better with Thielen even if you're not dependent on Thielen. Yeah, this isn't even close to me.

[Jason Moore]

I would. Okay, let's. Let's substitute a name. Would you do 105 Mark Ingram, Adam Thielen for Todd Gurley or Lev Bell?

[Robbie Kim]

I would not.

[Mike Wright]

I probably would not either.

[Jason Moore]

Well, then that makes it clear.

[Robbie Kim]

And that. Yeah, that makes it clear. But then you have to recognize right now if you're doing any kind of this trades, you know, I've made an offer for Saquon or for the 101.

[Mike Wright]

Sure.

[Robbie Kim]

Right now in our dynasty league, I think maybe all three of us have, and that's pre NFL draft. But you do have to keep in mind there's a solid chance here that Saquon goes to the Cleveland Browns. And yes, he is good enough to be a great running back wherever he goes. But he won't be. He'll be Todd Gurley 2 years ago when he was on a Bad Rams Team vs Todd Gurley this last year. You know, he's not going to be the David Johnson 20 touchdowns because the Browns aren't going to score enough.

[Mike Wright]

And we're not even putting a Name to the 105.

[Robbie Kim]

Right.

[Mike Wright]

The 105.

[Jason Moore]

You could get Eleanor Roosevelt.

[Mike Wright]

You could definitely get Eleanor Roosevelt at the 105.

Should probably drop to the second round, though. And then you'd be wasting your pick.

You could pick her up with Fab. Let's. Let's be serious. But the 105.

You can get a great asset.
