Jason Moore
Yes, we are.
Mike Wright
Are you sure about that date?
Andy Holloway
I know if you listen to the show on Tuesday. I told you it was Tuesday, July 5th. Two times. It was July 7th, believe it or not, two days ago. But we're here now and it is Thursday, July 9, and we are the Fantasy Footballers. And this is the Fantasy Footballers podcast and we are back again talking about fantasy football.
Mike Wright
What else would we talk about?
Jason Moore
Is there another thing you can.
Andy Holloway
Firecrackers. Oh, quick question of the day. How many fingers does Jason Pierre Paul have left? Is that something you should joke about?
Jason Moore
Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Just. Did you see? Schefter is the one that leaked that information. Adam Schefter found, got the medical files for Jason Pierre Paul and then released them to the public.
Jason Moore
This is breaking news. I think most people will not know this. Breaking news. Jason Pierre Paul has nine fingers.
Mike Wright
Nine and a half.
Andy Holloway
Nine and a half.
Jason Moore
Let's be fair.
Andy Holloway
That's the first time we hit that button in like 10 shows. And it's finger Jason Pierre Paul related. You lose a digit, though. Now I'm worried about you a little bit.
Mike Wright
Well, and I believe I read that he elected for the surgery because his recovery will be quicker.
Andy Holloway
Well done. Once you make a mistake quickest way.
Mike Wright
Back, baby, you got to make those millions.
Andy Holloway

There is news about how amazing the Foot Clan is. If I can play the toot toot horn. I'm just blown away by our. The Foot Clan. You, you, you guys out there.
Andy Holloway
That's what it says in the show notes. Shout out to the Foot Clan.
Jason Moore
Well, there you go. I didn't even read that, but I'm giving a shout out to.
Andy Holloway
Which one of you wrote that in there, Mike?
Mike Wright
I did.
Andy Holloway
Oh, well, yeah, Shout it out.
Mike Wright
Hey.
Jason Moore
All right, well, with that, let's read a review.
Mike Wright
Mike went through.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, yeah, let's do it. Let's do it.
Jason Moore
Review a source. Rex, did you need something?
Andy Holloway
I. I just figured if you wrote it in, you had something long winded to say. But the beard says it all, I guess.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
All right, go ahead.
Jason Moore
Let's hear what the Foot Clan say. This one comes in from Mikalk. I don't know how to say that title is awesome Sauce Pod. And he says this podcast definitely has the sauce.
Andy Holloway
Uh huh.
Jason Moore
It has the perfect mix of having the sauce but not getting lost in the sauce. They give absolutely brilliant info and opinions that can and will help you dominate your pals any league format. Thank you, Mick. And also thank you to all of the people who are reviewing. This was one of the hardest reviews to pick because I was just blown away by the love that we're getting on itunes. I'm normally the toot toot, but goodness gracious, we can't be that good a show. We just can't be. It's impossible.
Andy Holloway
That was a toot toot right there. Absolutely.
Mike Wright
What is going on? You're basing backwards.
Andy Holloway
I thought. See the proper thing to say. I really thought. I thought you were getting to the point where you're gonna say, you know what? I did. Just thank you to everyone. Just say thank you.
Jason Moore
You know what? Thank you very much. I really do appreciate.
Andy Holloway
Much better.
Jason Moore
We all do.
Andy Holloway
We do appreciate the reviews on itunes, on Stitcher, and all the feedback on Twitter. Lots of love. You appreciate what we're doing and we enjoy what we're doing, so we're gonna keep doing it.
Mike Wright
It's almost like I'm on Twitter about 24 hours a day.
Andy Holloway
My goodness, it's close. It's really close. I know. In a good way.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, maybe sometimes I wake up like.
Mike Wright
Let'S say my sleep is interrupted or something. I'm like, you're on call, right? I should probably check the twitch.
Andy Holloway
Like a. Like an emergency room doctor. Are you.
Mike Wright
The people have emergency fantasy questions. If you have a trade question.
Andy Holloway
July 8th, they have a lot back, man.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I have my best. You wake up for a midnight potty break. You know, it's like, oh, I should grab the phone, check it on my way.
Andy Holloway
You Realize this whole discussion here is not going to help the quantity coming in. It will only increase it.
Mike Wright
It's all right.
Andy Holloway
I know.
Jason Moore
That's what we love them.
Andy Holloway
All right, let's get to some news.
Jason Moore
News and notes from around the league. Yeah.
Mike Wright
Say that the Andy has spoken.
Andy Holloway
What? Oh, I know. This is good. You share this piece of news. I would never toot my own horn.
Mike Wright
So, news from Saints camp. Coach Sean Payton said he thinks Nick Tunes snaps will go, quote, way up this season.
Andy Holloway
Well, yeah, when you have an open outside receiver position, generally someone has to play there.
Jason Moore
Yeah, every week.
Andy Holloway
And on the offense that was number one in yards last year with a Hall of Fame quarterback. I don't mind taking a chance on a Nick Tune. People did it with Kenny Stills last year and it paid off for them. So watch camp. It might not be Tune, it could be Morgan. I mean, something could happen. But keep your eyes on Nick Tune. If you're in looking for a late round flyer, he might be sitting there and no one knows about him. So news out of Broncos camp. Tight end Virgil Green attended Peyton Manning's Duke workouts this off season. And that's news.
Mike Wright
Well, it's. It's news because a blocking tight end wouldn't just go to a camp, spend all that time trying to catch patches from Peyton, man.
Andy Holloway
No, it's a good point and actually we had. We'll get to it in the mailbag section, but people have been asking about the tight end situation in Denver and want to know our thoughts on that. So this will lead into that discussion. But you know, the Owen Daniels, Virgil Green, where did Julius Thomas targets go West, Welker, that type of thing. So that's interesting news out of Eagles camp. Another guy that we have mentioned a couple of times in our sleeper reports, Josh Huff has been very impressive in OTAs and minicamp. Well, this is very similar to the Nick Tunes situation because you're going to have likely snaps to. You know, there are snaps available in Philadelphia pre draft.
Jason Moore
We were very much on the Josh Huff train or at least talking him up as, look, somebody's got to catch the ball there you. He's a really talented guy who they really like who didn't really play much as a rookie. And after the draft, everything went Aguilar and so we went, you know, oh, it's going to be, you know, it's going to be Aguilar and Jordan Matthews. But the truth is Aguilar could, could come in the way that, you know, Huff came in last year. I don't expect him to, but it's definitely a guy worth picking up late. If you're in a deeper draft, if you've got a bigger bench or anything like that and you're looking for deep sleepers, Josh Huff is a guy worth grabbing.
Andy Holloway
Josh Huff is on every best ball league that I'm in right now because you can get him with the last pick of the draft because nobody's paying attention.
Mike Wright
And you never know.
Andy Holloway
You never know and I like never knowing on really good offenses. If you are interested in mock drafting this offseason, you got to use fantasydraftwizard.com that's what we do over and over again. We did all of our live draft shows with fantasydraftwizard.com and you can just pick your favorite spot. What's your favorite place to draft Jason?
Jason Moore
If I'm in a 12 team, I like the 8 or the 7.
Andy Holloway
Okay. I like. All right.
Jason Moore
If I'm in a 10 team, I like the 8 or The7. So I'm not sure why I specified the time.
Mike Wright
That's about where I like to be.
Andy Holloway
Same spot.
Mike Wright
Yep. And I was going to say that there's been a couple people have asked us to do a two quarterback draft.
Andy Holloway
Really?
Jason Moore
Yeah. Yeah. Because those are so different.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, people have also, I mean, they just want more of the live mocks in general. So we'll have to try to get. We'll definitely be doing some more, but we'll have to try to figure out what formats we want to do, what position. And if you want to figure out what your favorite spot is, it's easy to go in there and pick from the second spot, pick from the 10th spot, change PPR standard play around on fantasydraftwizard.com and don't forget getting ready for the football season.
Mike Wright
It's close.
Jason Moore
It's so.
Andy Holloway
It's getting close. FanDuel.
Mike Wright
Get your bankroll ready.
Jason Moore
I actually had some people message me on Twitter about FanDuel this week saying, do you guys play FanDuel? Do you guys talk about FanDuel? All that? Yes and yes. When the season comes upon us, we'll definitely talk about some daily fantasy sports right now. If you're signing up, getting prepared, you could play baseball right now. But if you are signing up, use the promo code. Ballers. That's our promo code. It gets you up to $200 matched and it gets us a little something if you put it in. So just put it in. Okay.
Andy Holloway
That's pretty good. And we will have. Like Jason said, we'll have a daily section or a daily segment on every show during the year. We just can't tell you who to start right now because there's no one to start, so. But you can count on it. If you're a daily fantasy sports player like we are, a couple years from.
Jason Moore
Now, they're going to have, like, camp. Daily fantasy sports. Just the guys playing in camp. You could draft them just in like, OTAs and.
Andy Holloway
Oh, you're talking about off season.
Jason Moore
Yeah, off season. Daily fantasy. It's coming.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Considering they bet on every single thing in the universe with the super bowl and all that stuff, I wouldn't doubt it. Evolved.
Mike Wright
What color underpants was Peyton Manning wearing?
Jason Moore
Blue. Everyone knows that.
Andy Holloway
Andy, Go on.
Jason Moore
Let's get divisional living in your body time.
Andy Holloway
Wow. You just. The music took over.
Mike Wright
I channeled my inner Olivia.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I was gonna say not too bad. We're talking AFC east today, fellas.
Jason Moore
Big division.
Mike Wright
Yeah, it is.
Andy Holloway
Super bowl champion New England Patriots first on the docket. Going over every fantasy relevant implication we can in about five or 10 minutes.
Mike Wright
So that means the next. The next 10 minutes are about Patriots running backs.
Andy Holloway
The next 10 minutes is how long it will take to recite the names at the running back position. But a quick overview of the Patriots. They were the 11th best offense in terms of yards per game, ninth in passing, fourth and scoring offense. They did lose Shane Vereen and Steven Ridley, the two of the, I don't know, four or five that they were using last year. And they did add Trevor's Cadet at the running back position. They added a guard in the fourth round and a center in the fourth round. And they added Scott Chandler at tight.
Mike Wright
End, which is interesting.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I mean, I feel like there have been a few of these guys that they've added over the years. Oh, this guy's Tim Wright's, really. Tony Moyaki's.
Jason Moore
Like they're still looking for Aaron Hernandez.
Mike Wright
They stopped tight ends.
Andy Holloway
Just. I can give you the address, like.
Mike Wright
A Where's Waldo book. Where's Aaron? Found him.
Andy Holloway
Found him.
Jason Moore
The same place for. For a little while.
Mike Wright
He'll be.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, he'll be there for a bit.
Mike Wright
He's in bright orange.
Andy Holloway
So. So let's talk about this offense because. And. And let's start with the running backs like you said. So from what I can tell right now there are seven running backs in the mix right now.
Mike Wright
It's ridiculous.
Andy Holloway
So we're talking LeGarrett Blunt, James White, Jonas Gray, Travis Cadet, Tyler Gaffney, Brandon Bolden, and Deion Lewis, now Lewis, if you don't remember him, he flashed two years ago. He's probably the low man on the totem pole here. But these kind of break down into big backs and small backs in terms of this offense. So you have Blunt and Gray. We saw what they did as a big backs last year and Tyler Gaffney fits in that spot as well. And then Brandon Bolden's kind of on his own because he is such a special teams ace. He's making the team probably and he can do enough if they needed him, you know. And so the question I have is who is taking a significant fantasy role in replacing Shane Vereen? Because you have James White who probably gets a shot. You got Travaris Cadet who's in New Orleans and has good hands and can catch the ball and you got Dion Lewis who I said they're taking a chance on it, but if he has something left, he could be the guy. So make sense of this.
Mike Wright
Well, LeGarrett blunt is penciled in to me as kind of the, the two down guy. The, the majority two down guy, I would say because there's going to be games where you're just shocked and look at. He's not really a fumbler.
Andy Holloway
No, I, I'm. I'm just saying it's hard to know.
Mike Wright
And he's, he's been great for the Patriots in 2013 when he was there the full year. He had a 5.0 yards per carry last year in five games, 4.7. So he gets it done there. And there are games where they will give him a humongous workload, but there's games where they'll give him three carries and then you just get hosed. And my instinct tells me that James White will get the first shot to be the, the pass catcher and he didn't play very much at all. But he's a fourth round pick last year and he was only in three games, so it's hard to really know.
Andy Holloway
Jason, I had a question for you. When he brought up LeGarrett Blunt's possible inconsistency where he has these big games and low games, I mean, how do you approach starting a guy like that.
Jason Moore
From week to week normally on teams like that? Like last year, the Patriots were a team come draft season that I avoided. I just don't prefer to have guys on my roster taking up that spot where I could start him thinking he's the starter and he could not even get a carry. However specific to the Patriots right now I actually think I Think this year it's going to be pretty clear cut. I think that they're going to use LeGarrett blunt the majority of time on that work. I think with Tom Brady being out the first four games, they're going to rely on him. Obviously Blunt's out the first game, so we got to keep that in mind. After that, I think that they're going to use them a lot. I think that their, their rushing wasn't that great last year. And so I'm, I think LeGarrett Blount is one of the better players to target right now.
Andy Holloway
18Th in the league like Jason said in rushing last year in terms of yards per game. But they did come on at the end of the season because of Legara bunt and they obviously rode their offensive schemes to a Super bowl title.
Mike Wright
I just had an interesting thought because we, we've been trying to figure out what are the Levy on Bell people do.
Jason Moore
Oh, breaking news.
Andy Holloway
I just know. I appreciate interesting thoughts come few and far between. So the man bunny.
Mike Wright
So Le'Veon Bell misses three games. LeGarrett Blunt will miss one. What if you take Jonas Gray with like your last pick and just roll.
Andy Holloway
Him out week one?
Mike Wright
When week one?
Andy Holloway
Cuz I'll tell you exactly what will happen to you. He will get no carries somehow maybe. No, I know that's not bad.
Mike Wright
Tom Brady's gone. LeGarrett Blunt's gone. No. What are they gonna do?
Andy Holloway
Even, even if you are the. You're saying if you're the Lev Bell owner.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Oh, yeah.
Mike Wright
Just take that. Take the very, very last pick. Last positional pick.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Trey Mason and Lev Bell might be, I mean Jonas Gray might be a couple of sneaky first week starts. I'd rather play Jonas Gray barring, you know, major changes. I'd rather play Jonas Gray Week one than I would D'Angelo Williams Week one.
Mike Wright
Yeah, exactly.
Andy Holloway
Which I don't, I don't think that's probably what people are thinking, but I think that's a better play. So. All right, let's move over to a very difficult part of their team as well. The wide receiver position. Number one's kind of far and away. Julian Edelman. Edelman's the guy. He's evolved into the guy. Brandon Lafell is there. He just got out of a walking boot, but he'll be back and ready for camp. Danny Amendola is there. He played about 40% of snaps last year. That's not obviously what you want in a fantasy situation. And then you have a Mix of guys. Brandon Gibson, Aaron Dobson, Matthew Slater, Brian Timms. Times, I don't even know how to pronounce it, but he's on the roster competing for a spot. And Josh Boyce. So let me. Julian Edelman is a PPR machine.
Jason Moore
There you go. We're thinking identical. I love him in ppr. In a non ppr, I'm probably just gonna let him go by because in a non ppr, in a standard, I realize he's still gonna get, you know, a good chunk of yards, but I don't see him getting in the end zone and the yards aren't gonna make up for it.
Mike Wright
So yeah, he, he only played 14 games, but in those 14 games had 135 targets, 92 catches, almost a thousand yards.
Andy Holloway
He was.
Mike Wright
So he was on pace.
Jason Moore
How many touchdowns did he get to four. Yeah.
Mike Wright
Yeah. So. But he was on pace for 154 targets, which puts him in, puts him in the top five. He had one game of less than seven targets. One game and seven games of double digit targets. So this is a PPR guy who get. He gets overlooked a lot and, and gets little respect. But he is fantastic in the PPR format.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, he's been overlooked in my rankings and I have him way, way too low.
Mike Wright
Really?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I have him like in wide receiver 3 range in for PPR, which is not. That's not appropriate.
Mike Wright
No.
Andy Holloway
I issue a public apology to Julian.
Mike Wright
Right now and I really like Brandon lefell this year.
Andy Holloway
That's what I was going to ask is he had two, a three.
Mike Wright
I got him as a two.
Andy Holloway
Wow.
Mike Wright
I think that's where he is in a standard. Yeah, it.
Andy Holloway
Lafell had 121 in a standard.
Mike Wright
He had eight and a half targets a game.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
He finished with almost 1,000 yards, seven touchdowns and he got zeros on the first game. And he's also the best blocking wide receiver on the team. So he's going to be on the field in one wide receiver sets and.
Andy Holloway
He'S had the opportunity to build some trust and rapport the way that you need to do that with guys like Brady, Manning, Brees. A guy that has, you know, can go out there and perform week after week.
Jason Moore
One of the questions for me is Aaron Dobson. Aaron Dobson had a really good rookie year. It was basically gone last year and when he was there, he was basically gone. And so when he comes back this year healthy, I see the person that affects the most is like Brandon lefell if he comes in and steals anything away. So do you see Aaron Dobson Coming back strong or irrelevant or in between.
Andy Holloway
Aaron Dobson, to me, here's my sense on him because I followed him since he came into the league. They like him. That's the sense I get from New England. They like him and believe he offers value when he's healthy. And do I think it'll take away from the Fell? Probably not because the Fell is not a deep threat. Okay. The deep threat there is. It's either gonna be Dobson or it's gonna be Boyce. Really. So those are the guys I think that are going to compete for the deep threat. So I think he'll probably be on the roster.
Mike Wright
See, I think Lefell is a bit of a deep threat and I don't think they like him. And the healthy scratches last year would.
Andy Holloway
So you just said everything. The complete opposite of me.
Mike Wright
I'm just giving my opinion.
Andy Holloway
Cool, bro.
Mike Wright
But how do you healthy scratch a guy multiple times in a season?
Jason Moore
Why?
Mike Wright
But why would.
Andy Holloway
You already got your rotation going. You're already playing.
Jason Moore
So what is the Tom Brady suspension do? I mean we've talked about the fact that we. I know we're unanimous on this. We're kind of off the Tom Brady drafting him train because you're going to have to take two roster spots to draft a guy who in all honesty was middle of the pack last year. He had a stretch where he was fantastic, but overall he was a middling quarterback. Why would you take two picks to grab a middling quarterback when there's so many of them? But what does it do to the receivers and or the running backs those first four games? Do we expect a dip in the Julian Edelmans and the Brandon Lafels and the Gronks or do we expect Garoppolo to come in and just be the same? And if so, is he worth drafting?
Mike Wright
I think it's business as usual. That's kind of the Patriot way is they throw up the obscene gestures and say this is how we're going to do it anyways. So I wouldn't knock the positional players too much. Some interesting numbers on Tom Brady, which I've given these before, but I think they're worth re sharing. Weeks one through four, nine points. Weeks five through nine, 27 points, great stretch, massive. But then weeks 10 through 16 down to 17 points and you're talking about almost identical attempts throughout those three phases of his season.
Jason Moore
It's weird.
Mike Wright
So it's hard to really know who exactly he is, but in 2013 he was 17th. He was the 17th rated fantasy quarterback. 2014 11. So he's a guy who you are going to have to spend a high pick because his name is Tom Brady and he's the golden boy and he wins Super Super Bowls, but he doesn't win fantasy championships. Not anymore.
Andy Holloway
Good take. Let's move on to another team in the AFC East. If you are a Miami Dolphins fan, you have waited a while to be excited. Maybe you've pretended to be excited, but I think there's a lot of reasons to be excited this year. If you're a Miami Dolphins fan, you've seen the year after year development. Mike's talked about it a lot of Ryan Tannehill, both as a real quarterback and a fantasy quarterback. You bring in talent on the offensive side of the ball where you've already established some with youngsters like Javaris or Jarvis Landry. You bring in Kenny Stills, you draft Devonte Parker, you bring in Greg Jennings, you bring in Jordan Cameron. Yeah, you basically rework that offensive side of the ball. So let's talk fantasy here. This is a middle of the road team offensively. Last year, completely 17th and passing, 12th in rushing, 11th and scoring. So let's talk about Ryan Tannehill first.
Mike Wright
You. You want to do that, Jerry?
Jason Moore
You know, we are more similar on Ryan Tannehill.
Mike Wright
That's true. That's true.
Jason Moore
I mean, it's crazy that we had a debate where I was talking. I still think Cam finishes the year total fantasy points ahead. But I really love Cam Newton this year. Or. Yes, I just said it. I really love Ryan Tannehill this year. His numbers are great. And I was saying before the show, I'm almost sad that they got Ndomic and Sue because I do think that that's going to cap what the offense is going to do. I think their defense is going to be good enough to where they're not going to have to really have shootouts and really have to, you know, be scoring 30 points a game to win. And so, you know, I think he's going to have his best year. Ryan Tannehill this year, I think he's one of the best targets. I don't like drafting, you know, middle of the pack quarterbacks, but the two guys in those, you know, kind of not super late and definitely not super early. Guys that I like are Ryan Tannehill and Matt Ryan because I think their value is going to be really good this year.
Mike Wright
Ryan Tannehill has improved in almost every category throughout his quarterback career last year, 590 attempts, almost 400 completions, just over 4,000 yards. 27 touchdowns. So that's a little bit lower than you want from your fantasy guy. But the added bonus that Ryan of Ryan Tinhill that most people don't pay attention to is he actually runs the ball. He had over 300 yards on the ground and a touchdown. And for a guy who runs ran the ball 56 times, it's very possible that he can get maybe two more touchdowns on the ground this year as long as he continues to run.
Andy Holloway
And that's super valuable. You see that with some other guys. Alex Smith runs a little bit more than other, other players and you don't expect it from them. But on the fantasy side of the ball, it really is a leveler of scoring because if you run the ball as a quarterback, whether It's Kaepernick, Newton, RG3, any of these guys, it really prevents the base game, the really low game a lot of the time. So if you're running in the ball, it helps balance that out. So we all like Tannehill. Mike, you have him at seven, I believe you have him at seven. I have him at nine right now. So both. Jason, I assume you're as a QB one as well.
Jason Moore
Yep.
Andy Holloway
Right in the same category. So let's talk the running backs. I'm really willing to be wrong on this, but I just don't like Lamar Miller.
Mike Wright
That's understandable.
Andy Holloway
I don't like Lamar Miller as a, as an NFL running back.
Mike Wright
And you don't like him as a person, right?
Andy Holloway
I don't. His family? No, not at all. No. I got nothing against, I got nothing against Lamar Miller other than when he, you know, went and worked out with Frank Gore and said he was going to be, you know, a superstar and then he didn't, he came out and didn't do it but two years ago.
Mike Wright
Oh, okay.
Andy Holloway
So last year he was very good. This year they didn't really bring in a lot of competition. But I do like sleeper wise Jay Ajayi a lot. Let me give you his college numbers. 2,300 yards, 32 total touchdowns, 500 passing. No, that's not career, that's last year.
Jason Moore
And 32 touchdowns in a year for Boise.
Andy Holloway
It's Boise State. Okay, you're not playing in the S.E.C. but you. He did all he could do in college and obviously there were concerns he was going to be a round one, round two guy. Concerns with the knee. If he's healthy, he's a home run sleeper in fantasy because he can catch the ball. Lamar Miller, if you look at the amount of carries they want to give him. They don't want to give him more than 12. I mean that's the range and he's good. He's good in that range. That's fine. From a Miami Dolphins standpoint, I'm excited to give the ball to Lamar Miller 10, 12 times and throw the ball and hand it off to Ajayi 5 or 6. And then if Miller goes out, I mean you talk about Cameron, Artist, Payne, if Jonathan Stewart goes out, if Miller goes out.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I think Ajayi on a good offense is a really, really good late pick. We've talked a lot about more of the other rookies, the rookies that got drafted, you know, ahead of the fifth round. And Ajayi I think is a very good fantasy stash guy. But I want to make the case for Lamar Miller and here's the case for Lamar Miller last year. He finished the year as an RB, UNO1 as an RB1. I don't see they waited till the fifth round to draft a running back. They didn't know a Jay, he was going to be there. They kept passing on them round after round after round. It shows me a little bit of confidence that they don't need a running back at that value. Sure, I mean you should draft a Jay in the fifth, but they are going to give Lamar Miller the ball at least the same amount of times I gave him last year, which wasn't that many. He got 216 attempts last year. You want your number one running backs to get more. But he was an RB1 with those carries. His carries aren't going to dip this year unless there's an injury and we presume health here, generally speaking. So I think Lamar Miller can repeat at least an RB2 and still has the potential we know factually to be an RB one. And you're drafting them where in the.
Mike Wright
You know, third, I think.
Andy Holloway
No, hard to argue with that.
Mike Wright
The last interesting tidbit on Miller now on his carries is he only gave. He only got above 15 carries four times last year.
Jason Moore
Yep, those were.
Mike Wright
But three of those were the last three weeks. So maybe they were trying to finish how they're going to keep going, I don't know. That's just an interesting.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, and he absolutely could be a guy that comes out and proves it to the fantasy community that's doubting him or. Or he could not.
Jason Moore
So that would be a perfect. If you grab, if you get a value in Lamar Miller in the third or even if he drops. I've seen him drop into the Fourth, once or twice.
Mike Wright
Oh, that'd be amazing.
Jason Moore
Yeah. If you grab him, then grab a Jay Lane.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Grab him as your last pick. And then you've got the running backs on a good offense.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
On a good team that like you said, Dominican Sue.
Jason Moore
That helps. Lamar Miller.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I don't want to overstate one man role, but. But it makes defenses. They want.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
They want to be that kind of a team. So I want you guys to, in a standard league, put the wide receivers of the Miami Dolphins in order.
Jason Moore
Impossible.
Andy Holloway
No, no, no. You have to do it.
Jason Moore
I can do this.
Andy Holloway
Required.
Jason Moore
All right.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I guess you can't. Mike, I thought you were going.
Jason Moore
I was waiting for the list.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
What's the list? Which one do you.
Andy Holloway
For me?
Mike Wright
No. Which ones do you want me to rank? All of them.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Standard top four. This is not complicated. Give me the top four Miami wide receivers.
Mike Wright
It's still in standard. It's still going to be Jarvis Landry, then Kenny Stills, Greg Jennings. Oh, maybe I'm going to go Landry, Stills, Parker, Jennings.
Andy Holloway
That was difficult.
Jason Moore
Really difficult. Especially.
Mike Wright
Clearly there was two people confused by you.
Jason Moore
All right, so here.
Andy Holloway
And we outnumbered the wide receivers in order.
Jason Moore
Here are. Here are my. Here's my order. Of those four guys in standard leagues, I'm going to go Jarvis Landry, Greg Jennings. Greg Jennings, Devonte Parker, Kenny Stills.
Andy Holloway
Any chance Jordan Cameron leads them all?
Jason Moore
Yeah, there's a chance. Well, no, because of health, but yes.
Mike Wright
There'S a chance because Ryan Tannehill likes his. Ted likes his tight end.
Andy Holloway
You know this.
Mike Wright
Oh, come on, man.
Andy Holloway
We need a drop for Mike Wallace. Obviously there will be touchdowns to spread around. I don't know what Landry will do on the touchdown front. Love Jarvis Landry. Love Tannehill. Loves Jarvis Landry. I think Cameron coming in there. I mean, they had Charles Clay last year, so I don't. I don't see Landry really losing much, but I don't know what to expect from Stills. And we don't know the health of Parker. So the other guys. It's a little bit muddy. Somebody's going to have a good year there, though.
Mike Wright
Yeah. And Stills is a. He's a great wide receiver in my opinion. I don't.
Andy Holloway
I don't. You like him a lot? I just don't.
Mike Wright
I don't understand why they traded him.
Andy Holloway
I don't get that. Well, okay, maybe because they're like me. They're like meh. They're like, I can draft a guy and not pay him and get the Same priority, but he has 2.
Mike Wright
He has two years left of not being paid and he had, He. He had an almost 80% catch rate. He was fourth in the NFL.
Andy Holloway
Well, clearly the Saints know what they're doing. They got rid of that bum Jimmy Graham.
Mike Wright
Hey, hey.
Andy Holloway
All right, let's move on to.
Mike Wright
Don't make me start on Jimmy.
Andy Holloway
The offense with the lease, the Buffalo bills were the 26th rank.
Mike Wright
You're calling them the offense.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I know you're going to.
Mike Wright
No, I'm asking. This is a real question.
Andy Holloway
Well, they don't have a quarterback, man. That's a, That's a problem in the National Football League. If you don't have a quarterback, you're not very good.
Mike Wright
That's. That's.
Andy Holloway
News flash.
Mike Wright
Is it, Is it easier or harder to run the ball when you don't have a quarterback?
Andy Holloway
You don't have to make the case about their offensive line to me. I know where this is going. Trust me. It's like I got. I got directions to this point in the game, in the day, real early. 26, 26 ranked offense. 25th ranked rushing offense. 18th passing, 18th scoring. Matt Castle, EJ Manual, competing for who gets to throw interceptions for your fantasy team.
Mike Wright
That's a doozy of a competition.
Andy Holloway
They brought in an offensive guard in the third round. They brought in LaShawn McCoy via trade Charles Clay, who I think actually could have a sneaky good year there. Matt Castle, like I mentioned, has not looked good in OTAs. People are saying he might get cut.
Mike Wright
That was the talk when people.
Andy Holloway
People went out and watched the Bills and they walked away saying the starting quarterback could be cut. That's what the result was. So I'm not very confident there. Percy Harvin is there as well, and you have healthy Sammy Watkins in the mix. Here's LaShawn McCoy, because I know I'm going to have to talk about this. Yes, their offensive line is not good and their running game will not be impressive. LaShawn McCoy will have a good fantasy season because LaShawn McCoy will be used a lot and it is not going to be. What did he finish last year?
Mike Wright
I think at 12.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, 12. Okay, so the year before that, Philly had a really good offensive line last year. I know the PFF numbers, but if you ask people around Philly, they were banged up. They had issues and that.
Mike Wright
Yeah, they were banged up, but they were still producing. They were still a fantastic line.
Andy Holloway
Okay, we'll agree to disagree on that part of things.
Jason Moore
And there are plenty of, you know, Places that rank lines that disagree on Phillies lines. I'll give you that.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, exactly. And LaShawn McCoy is the Barry Sanders of today in the sense that he leads the league in missed tackles and carries for loss, which is what Sanders did, too. Okay. He likes to dance around. He makes guys miss and then, you know. But that's not there. He's not. They need a downhill runner in Buffalo because of the offensive line. All that to say Lashama Coy will be an RB one because he will have insane production in that team. In terms of usage, I mean.
Mike Wright
You mean volume.
Andy Holloway
Volume. Sorry, that's what I mean.
Mike Wright
How many carries? How many carries you got him going for?
Andy Holloway
At least 325.
Mike Wright
Okay. Did you know that Rex Ryan has not had a running back go over 300 carries since 2009?
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Well, do you know Greg Roman has had Frank Gore for three years and he's put up 1100 plus in that offense with eight in the box every single week.
Mike Wright
Yeah, but a better line.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Mike Wright
Better line.
Jason Moore
I like LaShawn McCoy this year, but as a 2. If you can get him as your second running back, I love having him there. I think a lot of people are drafting.
Andy Holloway
I mean, you won't.
Mike Wright
No, you won't get him as your two.
Andy Holloway
Mike and I are. Mike and I have a difference. I have him at 4. Mike has him at 12. Mike has him as the same RB he was last year. I have him at 4. I believe Lashamacoy will get all the work. They weren't good the last few years, were they? On offense, in terms of the offensive line?
Mike Wright
No.
Andy Holloway
Okay. So Fred Jackson came out and put up RB1 numbers two years ago. So in that kind of a situation, Lashamacoi is more talented. Shamacoy needs to get the respect of the volume in the fantasy world, in my opinion, and I did. I don't care if you. You know what I mean? We could talk about it until we're blue in the face and we will. I have no doubt. We'll do it 15 times. No, I. I just. I don't understand why a guy can't be a productive fantasy player. Even if you don't like his ability in general.
Mike Wright
It's just the. It's not his ability, it's the.
Jason Moore
Where did you say you have McCoy? Four fourth.
Andy Holloway
Wow. Wow. What?
Jason Moore
I just. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Three in PPR.
Jason Moore
I think that's pretty high.
Andy Holloway
It is high. It's not that high. Well, you can't get much higher.
Jason Moore
I mean, you know, average draft position right now he's the seventh ranked running back. So. I mean, I see what you're saying.
Andy Holloway
That's all I'm saying.
Jason Moore
Yeah, yeah, that's fine. I, you know, I'm, I like the volume, I love the opportunity. I think that he's on the downside of his career and he's going to get a low yards per carry. But with a low yards per carry, if he gets the ball 325 times, I am absolutely fine with that.
Mike Wright
Yeah, 325 times. But there's also a concern that LaShawn McCoy has had 622 carries in the last two years. People were freaking out about DeMarco Murray. LaShawn McCoy's had more carries the last two years.
Andy Holloway
So looking at the wide receiver position for Buffalo Sammy Watkins, what do you expect from him? Is it just quarterback devoid fear?
Mike Wright
Yeah, the quarterback situation is pretty much horrendous for Watkins and it's hard to really know what Watkins can do in the pro level because of the quarterback play. And he was banged up almost the entire year last year.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, in certain weeks he looked great and he's absolutely great.
Mike Wright
He's coming off of hip surgery, 128 targets, almost a thousand yards. But it just. What is. Can his body really hold up if he's already getting beat up?
Andy Holloway
Year one. Yeah, a career does not make.
Mike Wright
No, I agree with that.
Jason Moore
But he should be.
Andy Holloway
He missed less games than Odell Beckham did last year.
Jason Moore
He's. He's one of the most talented wide receivers out of last year's draft class. And last year's draft class was amazing. The problem was if you put Sammy Watkins on other teams, he'd be phenomenal. The problem is two things. One, it's the quarterback play that we're talking about and two, it's the makeup of the team. This is a Greg Roman run, run, run the ball, defense, defense, defense, low scoring, which means fewer touchdowns. You know that that's going to be a big key for Watkins. I expect watkins to get 1,000 yards and around 70 catches. And so that could be really good. Wide receiver two or that could be kind of lower. Wide receiver three. Solely depending on does he get five touchdowns or does he get eight touchdowns? And I've got him at six, so I've got him more towards that. You know that, that wide receiver three range just because of the offense he's in.
Andy Holloway
Charles Clay finishes as a tight end number two. I'm sorry, he finishes as tight end number 17.
Jason Moore
16.
Mike Wright
I'm really torn right now on Charles Clay. I liked him a lot when he was in Miami and I was looking up the numbers. There's an interesting discrepancy between Rex Ryan and Greg Roman teams.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I was going to say, how'd Vernon Davis do when Greg Roman took over? He killed Vernon Davis.
Mike Wright
Well, he also scored 13 touchdowns one year.
Jason Moore
Not with Greg Roman.
Mike Wright
Yeah, with Greg Roman.
Jason Moore
Seriously?
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
As offensive coordinator.
Mike Wright
Yes. 2013. Do you not remember?
Jason Moore
No, I don't. I thought that that was the year before Roman.
Andy Holloway
See why no one likes talking to Mike.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Shut up.
Mike Wright
All right. So the, the question, what I was bringing up was Rex Ryan when he was in the. With the jets and he had Dustin Keller. Dustin Keller averaged 100 targets, but Greg Roman teams seem to feature the tight end as heavily. So the question is, who wins out that battle? Is Charles Clay going to get those targets? He got that money, but is he going to get the targets?
Andy Holloway
That's a good question. And I think something that needs to be said, or at least I feel like it needs to be said, is the fact that you don't want to over globalize in fantasy. Good offense, bad offense. Okay. Because you get production from players on bad team. The 22nd rank offense in the league was the New York Jets. That's 327 yards a game. Okay. You're talking about a differentiation of not that much. You know, the Dolphins are in the middle of the road. That's 350. So you're talking 30 yards a game difference. There's production to be had on every single roster. So don't just look at a team and say they're a disaster. So I'm not taking anybody on that team.
Mike Wright
Yeah. And I'm not saying that at all. If you're referring to shady, I'm just.
Andy Holloway
Referring to any of these guys. Whether Harvin has a chance. He's. He's matching up with the of offensive coordinator that actually he succeeded with in Minnesota and with Rex Ryan who put him on the outside. So Harvin's a guy that I don't know depending on where he's going in a draft, which is nowhere according to almost every draft. Yeah. And he's a guy who's going to probably line up. I would say he's going to play 80, 90% of snaps on the offensive side of the ball.
Mike Wright
A guy who I'm really interested in for very, very late. Robert Woods. Robert woods had an actually productive year for. For who he is. 104 targets, 700 yards, five touchdowns. That's not blowing the doors off, but we're talking about a guy who you can get, who no one's thinking about.
Andy Holloway
Robert Woods, I don't have. I mean, Robert woods is way below Percy Harvin on my list. He came in when Sammy Watkins was hurt and their entire wide receiver core was out. And he was only guy to throw.
Mike Wright
To you last year, but he produced.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, but I'd take Harvin.
Jason Moore
I would just.
Andy Holloway
Way.
Jason Moore
I would just. When it comes to fantasy football, I would always put my chips on better offenses. I think it does matter. I realize that there are guys that can put up points on a battle, but I'm not taking that wide receiver two on, you know, a bad offense. How many times does a bad, you know, subpar offense put up two fantasy relevant.
Andy Holloway
I think it's very possible that Watkins can be in a wide receiver one.
Jason Moore
Watkins?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, a one. Because, I mean, you see that Josh Gordon in Cleveland, you see those type of guys, superior talents, they get all the targets. It's very easy to do. Marshall did it for years with crappy teams. Speaking of Brandon Marshall, let's talk about. We got to move on E.J.
Mike Wright
Manuel.
Andy Holloway
Nope.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Gotta move on. New York jets, the number three rushing offense last year, the number 22 overall offense. So clearly they could not pass the ball. That's what that means. Dead last in passing yards per game. They tried towards the end of the year to just take it out of Geno's hands. Don't give him the opportunity to throw interceptions over and over and over and over. So from a rushing perspective, you're talking about guys getting no respect.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Chris Ivory is the bell cow. Steven Ridley's there. He's hurt, he's recovering. Zach Stacy is a, I think a footnote.
Mike Wright
They're going to get cut.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And so Chris Ivory sitting on the third best rushing team in the league.
Jason Moore
But by himself as essentially the complete bell cow. Yeah. So nobody likes why.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, why no respect from Chris Ivey.
Mike Wright
Because last year he was in fantasy. Even though he had decent numbers by the end of the year, if he didn't score, he wasn't good, which is why he. Why I am not as high on him. But Chris Johnson's now gone, so maybe Ivory's carries will go up. He only had 198 last year. If that can get up into the two 20s, 230s, then he's a little bit more interesting.
Andy Holloway
We have him at the same spot in our rankings, 32. We both have him at 32, which is probably low.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
We haven't rushed that in a little while, but yeah, I think. I think RB1 on the third best rushing offense needs to be considered, especially because that defense is going to improve. And how do you win games? You rush the ball and you play defense and they've got, you know, an improved defense. Revis is back, new head coach. Anybody else that you want to speak about? Obviously Brandon Marshall has come into town putting Eric Decker in that wide receiver two spot. I like Marshall a lot. I think he's going to come in and be a target monster on that team.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I agree. I'm high on Brandon Marshall and I really like Eric Decker. I've talked about a good amount and I like him even more now that he can go back to his natural kind of being the two on the team. And Eric Decker has had success. He had success last year with Geno Smith and he actually had some success with Tim Tebow. So the guy he's used to playing with, maybe not so great quarterbacks, but the. With Gailey coming in for the system, I think it's going to fit Geno a little bit better. And I think the offense might be a little more up tempo, might score a little bit more.
Andy Holloway
If you watch college ball last year and you watched Ohio State, you saw Devin Smith catch every single pass that was thrown deep to him. He was drafted in the second round by the Jets. And if you're. I was talking to Jason about this yesterday off, off air. If you're in a basketball league and you're looking for a guy that can blow up three or four times this year, do not count out Devin Smith. He is a down the sideline high point the ball. He's not a huge guy, but he is one of the best I've ever seen at catching a deep pass. So. And Geno can throw the ball down the field.
Jason Moore
So either. Either Brandon Marshall or Eric Decker, who have both struggled with injuries lately, last year they both had injury problems. Either one of them goes down and it's going to be Devin Smith on the field with that opportunity and the talent is there. So clearly that is a guy to watch for deeper sleepers.
Andy Holloway
All right, that is the AFC East. We've got one more division to go over. That would be the NFC east and we'll pick that up next week. Let's go ahead and do some answer some questions.
Jason Moore
Mailbag.
Andy Holloway
Mailbag. All right. If you have a question, you can call us on the question. Voicemail box. Is that what it's called?
Jason Moore
We need to get a sponsorship for that.
Andy Holloway
I know the blank hot take line Pez candy. I don't know.
Jason Moore
I saw this.
Andy Holloway
I was just, wow.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
If you saw the video, you know what he's talking about. There's a giant, giant Pez dispenser with an Arizona Cardinals.
Jason Moore
There was real Pez.
Andy Holloway
There was earlier this week. My 6 year old found it and just went. He's like, what are these? I'm like, they're so sized. Give them back to me.
Mike Wright
They're vegetables.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
What I was trying to say is you can call us on our voicemail and leave us a message. A question. 302-464-TFFB 302-464-8332. You can also go on the site and click the big submit a question button in the upper right corner thefantasyfootballers.com and you can also find us on Twitter heffballers. Send your questions over. We're happy to answer as many as humans can answer every single day. Was that fair, Mike?
Mike Wright
That is fair.
Andy Holloway
All right, let's go to a voicemail question here first.
Mike Wright
Hey, guys, it's Josh from New York.
Jason Moore
Love the show, love, love the insights. Thank you and keep it up. I'm going to call you guys out. I'm going to call you guys out on Travis Kelce. I think you guys are way too high on him. Here are some guys that have got more receiving yards than him in 16 or 15 games. Last year, Kelce played 16 games. Rob Bunkowski, Greg Olson, Martellus, Bennett, Delaney Walker, Jimmy Graham. Here are guys that got more receptions than Kelce. Gronkowski, Bennett, Olson, Delaney Walker, Jared Cook, Mikel Rivera, Antonio Gates, Kobe Fleener, Jason Wynn, and the list kind of goes on. He only got five touchdowns and I don't know, the five touchdowns are not even top T1 touchdowns.
Mike Wright
So call you guys out.
Jason Moore
Defend yourselves.
Andy Holloway
We shall.
Mike Wright
And the gloves are gonna have to come off.
Andy Holloway
First of all, I think Kobe Fleener should be offended by the way that you said his name right.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Can this be like a temporary. Oh, yeah. Game on.
Andy Holloway
We welcome. We welcome that.
Jason Moore
Oh, for sure.
Andy Holloway
Call us out. We don't just make stuff up. So make the case, Mike. I've got plenty to say on Travis Kelsey. And you know what? Let me say this first. I get what you're saying. I do. I get what you're saying. From a purely statistical standpoint, I looked at Kelsey first half of the season, second half of the season, really didn't see a big difference in yards per game from Kelsey Five touchdowns last year. So what gives?
Mike Wright
Well, here's the interesting thing about Kelsey. Compared to a lot of those tight ends who were, who were listed, Kelsey played 66% of the snapshot because he was injured and he was designed. They worked out a plan to have Kelsey come in very, very slowly compared.
Andy Holloway
To like Greg olson who played 96.6% of the snaps.
Mike Wright
Oh, is that, is that a higher threshold than 66? Week one, 33%, 37%. You're talking about a guy who wasn't on the field yet.
Jason Moore
You want to know who had a great on field percentage of offensive snapshot? Anthony Fasano in Kansas City. Where was.
Andy Holloway
Oh, he was.
Mike Wright
He was on the Chiefs too.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he was on the Chiefs. He played 91% of the snaps. Well, he's. Where, what's he doing?
Mike Wright
Oh, he's gone.
Jason Moore
Oh, he's gone now he's gone. So that 91% of snaps that Anthony Fasano was on the field for, I wonder where they're going to find a way to make up for that.
Andy Holloway
So it's round two, baby. Here we go.
Mike Wright
Travis Kelce, 81 targets and we're talking about 66% of snaps. 81 targets, 67 for 862. He had an 82.7% catch rate that led tight ends. He had 503 yards after the catch that led tight ends. He forced 17 missed tackles. The guy was an absolute beast. We call him Zeus for a reason, because he is a physical monstrosity. Vernon Davis, he was a tight end who played with. Who's that guy? Alex Smith, the guy who checks down and only throws to the tight end.
Andy Holloway
Is that the quarterback in Kansas City?
Mike Wright
That, that would be one in the same. Vernon Davis averaged 105 targets per season.
Andy Holloway
Two top three fantasy finishes for Vernon Davis when he was with Alex Smith. 24 tight ends, some of which you mentioned, all of which you mentioned, got more snaps than Kelsey last year. We are projecting that is what we are doing with Travis Kelsey because everything.
Mike Wright
That he did in the small amount of time that he had on the field says that Kelsey is going to.
Jason Moore
Be a gigantic monster. We could be wrong on that. But you have to, you have to project if you want to win in fantasy football. What you need to do is you got to find the guys who are going to very much outperform last year, who's going to take a rise up and you got to have reasons for that. So the fact that Anthony Fasano is gone, that Kelsey's going to be on the field that he's a physical freak and that he showed, you know, broken tackles, yards after catch. I mean, he is.
Andy Holloway
He also fumbled four times, so he finished where he finished with four fumbles, which is, I mean, hopefully he doesn't keep doing that.
Mike Wright
He also graded out as the best run blocking tight end in the NFL. He's going to be on the field.
Andy Holloway
It's over. The fight's over. All right, next question here. I think we did our best in defending ourselves. Thanks for calling us out.
Jason Moore
Hey guys, first time.
Mike Wright
Oh, that's what we have to say to you.
Andy Holloway
You know, when I first play the voicemail and then close it, that's what happens.
Jason Moore
Hey guys, first time calling in, but I just started listening this summer. Love the show. So my question is, my league is going from 10 people to 12 and I've never done a 12 team league before. So I was wondering what advice you can give me on that. It's half point PPR and last year I picked three running backs, my first three picks and made it to the championship loss there. Thanks for the question. Thanks for helping me out and see you later. So one of the more important things in a 12 team league is to be better prepared than other people past those first few rounds. First few rounds are going to play out pretty much the same focus on running backs. Like you're saying, avoid the quarterback, but the main difference is the depth of the rosters. When you start getting to your flex position and positions like that, when you get in the eighth round, the ninth round, you're going to have to go deeper. And especially for, you know, the guys that are there now, you figure in the 10th round you've literally got what, 12 times, you got 2 times 10, you got 20 extra players, you're deeper.
Mike Wright
Than you're on your own. Man, I wasn't even listening that you're.
Jason Moore
Not, that you're not used to drafting. So I think that your best advice that you can get for going from a 10 to a 12 is to be prepared for those 7, 8, 9th rounds. Pick the wide receivers and the running backs who have upside potential. Have them targeted, highlight them on your list. That's what I would focus on are the later rounds because everybody always focuses on just those top 10 guys.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, that's good advice and I appreciate the call. I think your recipe to success is only going to be more proven in a 12 team league. You, you chose to go running back early. Position scarcity becomes more of an issue with 12 team leagues and so keep that Recipe up. Sounds like you did great. Got to the championship game and I think you'll be fine. So that. That some good advice from Jason there. Let's move on to a question from James in Sacramento. He says, why am I not hearing more about Owen Daniels? Emmanuel Sanders replaced Decker and flew under the radar last year. Could this be a similar situation with Daniels replacing Thomas? Well, first, the.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
The reason he doesn't replace Thomas.
Jason Moore
Right. The reason that you're not hearing it is Virgil Green. Because there are two camps. There's the camp that says Virgil. Well, I guess three. Right. The camp that says Virgil Green is going to be the man, the camp that says that Owen Daniels is going to be the man, and the camp that says neither of them is going to be the man because they're both going to be in the mix. And I think there's probably a little bit of that last one that's. That's got some truth to it. But I'm interested in this because I know that we differ on this. I'm an Owen Daniels on the, on the, you know, if you got to pick who's going to be the predominant pass catcher, I'm on the Owen Daniels side.
Mike Wright
Andy, I'm Owen Daniels.
Jason Moore
You are?
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
I thought you were Virgil Green. I thought. I remember talking to one.
Andy Holloway
I think Virgil Green by far has the most upside. I will agree. That doesn't mean that in every situation I draft him, but if my. Depending on where I'm drafting, if I'm drafting for upside, if I'm drafting two tight ends for some reason in the back of the draft. I know, but you know, you might take a flyer if you draft a guy like ifer. I might draft a guy like virtual Green at the end and just see what happens. But. But yeah, from an upside perspective. You know, what's interesting about Denver is that when Julius Thomas broke out, I've never seen it more clearly in the preseason than what the way they executed plays with Julius Thomas. He was off everybody's radar then and he jumped onto mine because of what I saw in camp, in preseason. And so pay attention to who is running routes. You saw this just happen with Josh Hill in New Orleans. All of a sudden you watch OTAs and oh, wow, Ben Watson's catching more passes than Josh Hill. So just pay attention and go for it.
Mike Wright
No, no, no, go for it. Julius Thomas is a very athletically gifted person. Owen Daniels is on the end of his career, which means he's older, slower, injury prone historically. And Julius Thomas was touchdowns that's what that was. His entire career in 2013, he averaged 56 yards a game, 2014, 38 yards a game. So his, his entire fantasy value was touchdowns. He caught a lot of them. But I don't think Owen Daniels can do that.
Andy Holloway
It speaks to tight end usage a little bit where he was a red zone weapon. So he was used in the red zone, caught touchdowns but the yardage wasn't there to say there's going to be a ton to go around necessarily. I mean, I still think that'll be a productive position. You saw Dallas park when Dallas Clark left Indianapolis and Peyton was there. Jacob Tammy came in and had value, but it's not going to. You don't just swap them in. They're not, you know, robots. You print on a machine and the next guy coming in and Owen Daniels sure is not a robot. So Nate from St. Cloud, Minnesota says I am in a St.
Mike Wright
Cloud.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
All right.
Andy Holloway
What is that? Shout out to your old My wife.
Mike Wright
My wife went to college up there.
Andy Holloway
Oh well, there you go. Maybe you should read this question.
Mike Wright
This one comes in from Nate from St. Cloud. I'm in a redraft auction keeper league. Should I keep Odell Beckham Jr. For $1 or Justin for set for $1? I'm obviously leaning OBJ. If so, should I assume him as my wide receiver one and go heavy on running backs or draft another elite wide receiver? Thanks.
Andy Holloway
I am sad he did not put anything in the other info category telling me if this was a PPR or not.
Mike Wright
Yeah, that makes a really big difference.
Andy Holloway
I just double check. I double checked the email how that.
Jason Moore
Makes a big difference because you'd rather have. I mean because obviously I mean great in ppr but in PPR4 sets even more valuable.
Mike Wright
That's what I mean. If PPR, it's not even a. I'm not even making a decision. It's Justin for oh really?
Andy Holloway
He's obviously still a toss up for me I guess.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Okay, let's answer the question.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, we should do that. I keep obg.
Mike Wright
Obg.
Andy Holloway
Wait, did I say obg?
Mike Wright
You did.
Andy Holloway
That's because you said obj.
Jason Moore
Well, that's how we prefer here if.
Andy Holloway
You OBJ and obgyn.
Jason Moore
Obgyn. Let's look. A dollar for the OB GYN is very very good value. Normally they have a.
Andy Holloway
Don't they say if you're on the Madden cover you end up at the OB gyn?
Jason Moore
Yeah, I forgot about the Madden cover. Four set and he's already dead. Take four sets.
Andy Holloway
If Otherwise he'll give birth to injury.
Jason Moore
Here's the, here's the deal. To answer your question, we're probably leaning Obi, Whatever. Kenobi, Odell Beckham Jr. 4 set is not a bad option. If you draft Odell Beckham Jr then what you want to do is still draft your best available. Don't, don't get caught up on. You have to have running backs or wide receivers. But he is a worthy wide receiver one, obviously. So, you know, if a stud running back is there, great.
Andy Holloway
None of that stuff would have happened if you had put in PPR standard.
Jason Moore
See.
Andy Holloway
So I don't know if that means he shouldn't, but he should. Last question here. Boss from Ohio. He says he started to buy into Jonathan Stewart being a RB2 possible, possible one barring injury. But that is a concern. How do you view his possibility of actually playing 16 games, if not how many projected points? Well, this is a great question because we talk about guys like Lev Bell. At least you know he's gone for three and which three they're going to be. You know, Jonathan Stewart's probably going to be gone, especially if they give him the workload we're expecting. He's going to miss a game or two. Historically, he's had a couple big injuries, but then he's had games where he's missing one, missing two. So what do you project him for? I mean, this is, I mean, you presume health, but in some degree you're, you're not projecting 16 starting the same way. You don't project 16 starting for probably Foster or something, right?
Jason Moore
Yeah, I project literally in mind 14 games is what I've got him playing. And at 14 games he's a great value.
Andy Holloway
I think that's very fair. I think when, when Forte was kind of fighting injury bugs, I mean, that was kind of what he put up. 14 games.
Jason Moore
Yeah. And of course he's got a second half to this question. Guys. Did you see it? Second half of the question. It's my favorite part because it talks about Cameron Artist Pain. I love Major Pain. So his question basically says, I know you guys love the rookie there. He can't even remember his name because nobody knows who Cameron Artist Pain is. What he says? Yeah, he says that if, if he goes down, if Jonathan Stewart goes down, what's the chance that Tolbert's role, Mike Tolbert, who is a very good back, he's healthy in camp. What is the. His role increases instead of Cameron Artist Payne? 0% chance that that changes. That's what I'M saying because I disagree. Two reasons.
Andy Holloway
And here's the reason I agree with Jason. Because it happened last year already.
Jason Moore
Yeah, here's the two reasons. Reason number one is because Tolbert is very niche. Tolbert has his role. He's carved it out. You see this all the time in the NFL with when the number one guy goes down, the guy who was their third down type of back, that.
Andy Holloway
Was their Marcel Reese.
Jason Moore
Right, exactly.
Andy Holloway
He's Marcel Reese.
Jason Moore
And so you stay in that role and the guy that was behind him comes in. The second reason is because I hear that from the Carolina camp. The Carolina camp has said that they see him as a three down back. If J Stu goes down, that's a pretty good indication that they. That they say that.
Mike Wright
Don't help her get Fozzie.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, he's not that bad. He's not that bad.
Jason Moore
I know.
Andy Holloway
All right.
Jason Moore
Better director than an actor.
Andy Holloway
Fozzie.
Jason Moore
