Andy Holloway
Good morning. This is the Fantasy Footballers Podcast. It is Thursday, March 12, and we are here for a second time this week because the NFL is a buzz. 2 Time is crazy. Oh, goodness.
Mike Wright
2 Time.
Andy Holloway
This is your host, Andy Holloway. And this is a new habit we have from Mike the fantasy Hitman who cannot handle the level of NFL news that is breaking right now across Twitter. No, he's just in a football seizure, I believe.
Mike Wright
My hand has. I've got carpal tunnel from refreshing. Twitter.
Andy Holloway
Twitter refresh.
Mike Wright
Yeah, my fingers are sprained. My wrist is grade three.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Broken.
Andy Holloway
Well, it's dangerous. It's a dangerous world. Right now in the new fantasy NFL, I want to introduce our other analyst, Jason Moore. Say hello, Jason.
Jason Moore
Hello. How is everybody doing on this happy Chip Kelly day?
Andy Holloway
Oh, what in the world? I've never seen somebody teeter between disaster and just absolute brilliance.
Mike Wright
Crazy like a fox man.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I don't know.
Jason Moore
I mean, this is like schizophrenic, like a, like a crazy Arkham Asylum person.
Andy Holloway
So we will have, we'll have Eagles correspondent Andrew Goldwasser on the show next week.
Mike Wright
Oh, yeah, we're bringing them on.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. To discuss whatever the kind of implications are for the end of this Murray deal and the Bradford trade and all of those things.
Jason Moore
Here's my prediction. Next week they have Joe Flacco and Adrian Peterson.
Andy Holloway
Right, Right. And then he'll come on and say Mariota has no, he has no interest in it whatsoever.
Mike Wright
To be fair, he didn't say that. He just said he's not going to trade up. Allegedly.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. It's just, it is a crazy world. The Eagles are often the center of attention during these off seasons. But yeah, we'll have Andrew Goldwasser on the show. He writes for a number of places and is a Eagles fanatic, so he'll have some good fantasy insight for us. We are the fantasy footballers. You can find us on the web thefantasyfootballers.com you can email us at mailhefantasyfootballers.com email any questions. I think the questions people have right about now are keeper related. We also have some questions about forming leagues, getting leagues started. We can give you some advice if you are trying to decide between some options, some settings for your league if you're a new player, maybe some advice as commissioners of new leagues on the best way to run a league and the best way to get the most out of your fantasy. Fun. And you can also find us on Twitter. We've been retweeting Some of the biggest things going on. I posted a spray chart of Russell Olsen that was amazing of his where he's throwing the ball and kind of saying that Jimmy Graham and him will be just fine. So we'll talk a little bit about the Jimmy Graham trade as well. We also ask that you subscribe to us on itunes. Leave us a five star review. We have, I believe, all five star reviews right now.
Mike Wright
Yeah, we're doing.
Andy Holloway
People enjoy the show. So we were gonna read a couple of these. You want to read one of these, Jason?
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Shout out to our reviewers and listeners.
Jason Moore
Just imagine that there is some kind of independence day music in the background.
Andy Holloway
I wish I could pull it up for you.
Jason Moore
Incredibly professional podcast. 5 stars by Dan Joe 1. Mike, Andy and Jason know how to make fantasy fun while bringing an incredible wealth of knowledge and hilarity to the. To the show competes with the best of them. These guys will help you win your leagues, I promise. Thank you, Dan Joe1. You are correct.
Andy Holloway
Yes, that is true. And I like this. The brevity of this one.
Jason Moore
This is my favorite. This one wins the review of Source Rex.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, this is Jake off 76. I love this show and I did win my league.
Mike Wright
That's all you need to know. That's all you need to know.
Jason Moore
And his title. This show is so money.
Andy Holloway
Yes, I agree.
Mike Wright
That's all you need to know.
Andy Holloway
Yes. Subscribe on itunes. Drop us a five star review. We really do appreciate it. We really do appreciate it. It means a lot because it moves us up the charts and starts to replace some of the talking heads of the fantasy football podcast world that really don't know what they're doing and are too afraid to go out on a limb and make a prediction that isn't obvious. Start. Start Aaron Rodgers. Start Aaron Rodgers.
Mike Wright
Predictions like Ryan Matthews will be signed by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Andy Holloway
Oh, you mean the one that you just made. Yeah.
Jason Moore
You know, I went back and listened to some of our predictions over the last few weeks. I'm very impressed by us gentlemen. I mean, I really am. I was, I was listening back and I was, like we said a long time ago, Gore was going to the Colts. You were predicting Matthews to the Eagles. Which granted, now, now might not happen.
Mike Wright
But it looked pretty good for a while.
Jason Moore
Nobody else was predicting these things when we were calling them.
Andy Holloway
I also, I mean, it's still to be determined with Bradford. But I said two days ago, I believe when everyone said Bradford is getting shipped off immediately. Oh, this is. This has everything written about he's going to be traded immediately. He doesn't want Bradford. I said he'd be there and he'd be their quarterback. And then Chip Kelly came out and at least affirmed that as a very strong possibility. So now that we're done with tooting our own for the beginning of the show, let's get to some of the news.
Jason Moore
News and notes from around the league.
Andy Holloway
And there's a lot of it. And we're actually, we're recording here at what, 9, 17 Pacific Time right now? Is it same Pacific right now?
Mike Wright
I think because daylight happened and Arizona don't care about daylight.
Andy Holloway
The latest reports are that DeMarco is pretty much going to Philadelphia.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
They're saying Dallas is calling around for other RBs. Is that what you're gonna.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Drop us the latest Twitter news, Mr. Carpal Tunnel.
Mike Wright
Well, the, the. Through my pain, the every. Everything right now is pointing towards Murray siding with the Eagles. It makes sense he was, he was embarrassed by their offer because they're. Dallas's offer truly was embarrassing. Saying that you're barely more valuable than our kicker going to a division rival. He'll get to play the Cowboys two times. He could be personally responsible for knocking the Cowboys out of the playoffs. However, with this caveat is I'm still hearing that he will give the Cowboys an 11th hour chance to match or beat whatever offer he is about to sign.
Jason Moore
This is such a brilliant move on the Eagles part. It's a win. Win.
Andy Holloway
It is a win win. No matter what happens, they either drive.
Jason Moore
Up the price for their division rival and make them pay what they didn't want to pay or they get their star running back to pound against them two times a year.
Andy Holloway
It's, it's this exact same thing happened with the Cardinals about three years ago when Kurt Warner was negotiating a two year contract and he flew into San Francisco and met with, I think it was. Who's the coach there then? The guy who mooned everybody. I forget his name, as does all 49er fans. The linebacker, I don't know. I can't remember his name. But yeah, he, Warner flew in there basically as a leverage play. Right. And the 49ers might as well indulge it because if it costs the Cardinals more money, it's a win. And if they get Kurt Warner, it's a win. So, yeah, Singletary. Yeah, Mike Singletary. That's what he was. I know a little brain fart there. So let's talk to Marco Murray. If he ends up in Philadelphia, which is not something we talked about Tuesday, which Just tells you what the landscape of the NFL is right now with these trades and insanity going on. What is his fantasy upside in Philadelphia? Because we talked about all the places he could land. We didn't mention Philly because it didn't seem possible. And we said he'd be losing value no matter where he went because he'd be leaving that offensive line. But now you go to a system that might not mean that.
Jason Moore
That Mike, you pointed out last week, has the best offensive line. Everyone said Dallas has the best. But Grade W, the Philadelphia Eagles have a better offensive line. I mean, it's exciting. Also, Adam, just throwing this out there because I know it is early in the morning. It's not official, but Adam Schefter is saying he's reporting that DeMarco Murray is going to sign with the Eagles and that he's also saying that Dallas is calling other running backs, looking for other running backs because they know they've lost murray. So at 9 in the morning, it's unofficially official now.
Mike Wright
I love it. I suppose this is the second best place for, for Murray to be. I think he fits in with the, with what Kelly wants. I mean it's. He saves Kelly's. It's smart. He saves money going from McCoy to Murray and people are talking about it doesn't make sense for Murray to fit in with the system. But I think Murray is more of a back that. That Kelly actually wants one system. He was. He wants a guy just go forward.
Andy Holloway
Don't dance.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Stop with this. This crap of oh, I'm so shifty and maybe you get a yard or two. No, take the, take the four yards. Those are, those are going to turn into 15 and 20 yard runs every once in a while. Murray doesn't necessarily have the. That's the breakaway speed that he's going to hit home runs all the time. But as we saw in Dallas, he. He chunks.
Andy Holloway
He's a monster. He's a monster and he's a downhill guy. It's a reason why Chip Kelly put Polk in on the goal line because he was tired of seeing Shady dance around and lose yardage at the goal. And even if he could get in nine times out of 10, he didn't like that as the expectation from his running back.
Jason Moore
So which team puts up more points in the NFL? Dallas Cowboys or the Philadelphia Eagles next year? Just regular points on the board?
Andy Holloway
That's a good question. I think it's Philly.
Jason Moore
I do too.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I would agree.
Jason Moore
And I think that losing Macklin only, only makes Murray all that. That more valuable from a touchdown standpoint. I really like Murray going there. I would definitely keep him top five right now.
Andy Holloway
Well, I look forward to hearing from Andrew Goldwasser next week as we talk more about Murray and we'll wait to see if this news breaks or not or if we look really stupid when you listen to our podcast.
Jason Moore
After two.
Mike Wright
Quick side note of. Because we're saying Macklin leaves boost Murray. Murray leaves. Do we, do we bump DEZ Bryant at all?
Andy Holloway
I think I don't bump. I don't bump him. And I guess you can make an argument about red zone, but I don't think you can bump him much more than where he was on the red zone. And the reason I don't bump him is because their philosophy worked last year and I think they're going to have the same philosophy as far as now. If they're not productive in the running game, maybe it changes a little bit. But I don't think he moves too much in my book.
Jason Moore
Yeah, the only way that I'd bump him is red zone. And he had 16 touchdowns last year. I mean, can you really sit there going into the year and say, well, maybe he'll get 20? I won't.
Mike Wright
It's true. So is there anybody who you have just a. That gut hunch will end up in Dallas or are they. Are they going Gordon or drafting Gordon or Gurley?
Andy Holloway
I think they will sign somebody. I don't know if it's. I mean, Spiller is a possibility. He's still out there. I, I think they will have to bring somebody in, even from a fan perspective. You know what I mean? But, yeah, it is being reported that he's going to sign with Philly. So it's just unbelievable. Just unbelievable. The question is, how does that impact Ryan Matthews? Yeah, Ryan Matthews was reported to have agreed in principle to sign with Philadelphia. Do you believe he'll back out of that contract or is he going to sign and they will just be. I mean, what a running team that will be.
Mike Wright
If I'm Ryan Matthews, I still sign.
Andy Holloway
So do I. That's funny. Yeah, so do I.
Mike Wright
Because the, the pros and cons are. Does he want to go somewhere where he's going to be the guy in hopes of taking off, maybe leveraging one more big contract? But it's where the downside for us is. It's that Carolina situation where you have Jonathan Stewart and D'Angelo Williams, two super talented running backs both eating away at each other's value. However, the running backs like it because it sustains their health. They don't get beat up as much. They can play longer. Maybe you don't get the massive contract break but if you play longer you're gonna get more money.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, it's interesting and I think that if there's a team that can probably support a multi back.
Mike Wright
We saw it with Sproul mainstream system and McCoy last year.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I mean I guess you have to wonder what their commitment to Murray was in that cell. You know, in terms of are you the one and two down back? Are you being spelled by Ryan? I mean how much money is Ryan Matthews gonna get?
Mike Wright
And if you're Murray, I mean after last year, do you think he really minds having another guy carry some of the load?
Andy Holloway
Not if he's getting paid. Not if he's getting paid. Keep your body in shape. So very interesting. So let's talk about the other just absolute. It almost feels wrong not to have spoken of it yet. But that's how amazing the current NFL situation.
Jason Moore
I feel like we're living in Madden right now. Not the not real life NFL but you know, a video game.
Andy Holloway
There was that after we recorded on Tuesday from about noon to about 3:00. It was insane because that was. Yeah, it was absolutely fantasy football trading going on and you had sue sign and then hello to Nada comes over in a trade. The Bradford Foles trade happens and you have this one, Jimmy Graham, one of the most dynamic mismatch creating unique players in football and fantasy football gets traded to the Seattle Seahawks for Max Unger, stud center and a first round pick.
Mike Wright
What? Yeah, this is. Oh man.
Andy Holloway
What were your reactions to that trade in a fantasy context?
Mike Wright
Well, I'm a Lynch owner for a keeper league beast mode for my top keeper league. It was not something I wanted to see. There you have Jimmy Graham coming in. Jimmy Graham is now going to siphon touchdowns and Max Unger. I mean people maybe don't realize the importance of Max Unger to that Seattle offensive line.
Andy Holloway
You looked at some of those stats.
Mike Wright
Unger is a top five center. He has been and there is a dramatic diploma when Unger and Unger was actually injured quite a lot last year which in for those if you don't remember because lynch finished so hot was there was in the middle of the year we were having Marshawn lynch panic. I mean he had a two to three game skit of just of garbage of real like running back 4 production. So I went and I looked through all the games and I was cross referencing when Unger was Actually in. And I believe it was so six games Unger was in. Right. In those games MARSHawn lynch averaged 5 yards of carry.
Andy Holloway
Right.
Mike Wright
Now the games where Unger was not in, he lynch averaged. Now technically he averaged 4.4, I believe it was. But I threw out the Cardinal game.
Andy Holloway
Because of that long run.
Mike Wright
Yeah, when you're talking about Beast Quake 2.0.
Andy Holloway
So outside of that, what did he average?
Mike Wright
4. So a whole yard difference. And the reason I threw out the Cardinal game is because his everything was just skewed out of control. I mean he only ran the ball 10 times for 113 yards. But 80 was one play. And that one play the Cardinals had completely sold out to try and strip the ball. He's not normally going to bust that 80 yard.
Andy Holloway
So they lose Unger and I've heard out of Seattle that he's pretty upset about that. And then if you remember last year, the Cleveland running game was actually pretty darn good to start the year. Including Ben Tate's numbers. And then when they lost the Secret World of Alex Mack.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Andy Holloway
It was over another center.
Mike Wright
They lost into the puddle.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, there you go.
Mike Wright
So just real quick, some numbers. So on the game on the 12th, I think it was against the Cowboys, lynch was 10 for 61. Sounds alright. Yeah, except he had a 32 yard run. Take that out. I mean you're, you're 9 for 20 something yards. 18 for 53, 14 for 62, 15 for 39. Here's a good game on the November 27th, 20 for 104. Then next game a couple weeks later, 23 for 86. I mean just you can go through the numbers and they're, they're not impressive. They're not the impressive lynch numbers that you're used to seeing. So there is.
Andy Holloway
So you take away his center and then you put another, the singular best goal line. There's I think the top three.
Mike Wright
I still think it's Gronk, but.
Andy Holloway
Well, the top three touchdown scorers in football over the last three years are DEZ Bryant, Marshawn lynch and Jimmy Graham. So you bring another one in, you know you're losing some. What was that stat? Nine throws to Jimmy Graham inside the opponent's one yard line. Eight touchdowns as a result of nine throws inside the yard line. So. And, and you're paying Russell Wilson now, right? You're going to pay him big money and you're paying big money to Jimmy. I think you're seeing a transition not huge. Don't overreact, fantasy world. This is not Going to become the New Orleans Saints in the Pacific Northwest. But you will see a transition. You saw it on the goal line of the Super Bowl. Some argue that it was Russell Wilson, that they wanted to get the attention, to get the win. He's their face. They're going to give him a weapon and they traded a lot to do it. So Jimmy Graham, do you like him? Where do you move him? Is he your number two? Jason, is he your number two tight end?
Jason Moore
I think he's my number two solely because I don't see anyone else that I would move ahead of him. He's still freak. He's still going to get his targets. And like you showed on that spread map of how Russell Wilson throws, there's a reason that they were looking so desperately for a tight end. They were looking at other tight ends that tried to trade for him last year. They believe they can use him. Well, he's, in my opinion, clearly going to be the number two tight end. However, I do think he takes a drop from, from his value over the last few years. Now, last year might be somewhat accurate because he missed a couple games, had that weird goose egg, but I don't. I don't see him like before that trade. There was Gronk and there was Jimmy and then there was the rest. Right now I feel like there's almost three tiers in the first three players. There's Gronk and then there's the rest, which Jimmy is above.
Andy Holloway
That's probably a fair statement. I was going to ask you, I mean, you probably have Jimmy at number two as well, because I was going to ask you the Jimmy vs Julius in Jacksonville or Jimmy vs Kelsey? Jimmy vs Kelsey. Greg Olson resigned. Greg Olson should have another good year. Oh, and Daniels is now in Denver. Where do you have Owen Daniels in terms of your top 10? Is he in it?
Mike Wright
I. Oh yeah, he's in it for sure.
Andy Holloway
So he's climbed into the top 10. Where do you have him?
Mike Wright
I have Owen Daniels, I don't know, off the top of my head, maybe seven. Just thought that's just off the top of my head. I could really look at it because that just happened. And now speaking to Jimmy Graham, I don't know if I have him. Too simple. Adam, our boy, Adam Azer, he tweeted out a stat. Jimmy Graham is moving from a top three passing offense the last three years to a team that is ranked outside of the 20s or ranked outside of the top 20 for the past four years. The entire dynamic of the Seahawks will not change. Where I was, I'm talking about panic. For Marshawn lynch, it's not. I'm jumping completely off the boat. It's just a concern that needs to be talked about. But for Jimmy Graham, you have concern now, too. Of how many times a game does Russell Wilson actually throw the ball? I know that Jimmy Graham will probably be the number one target automatically, but he's not going to get the kind of yardage that you're used to in. In New Orleans.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. If you. If you had him, I agree. He'll probably step it down a little bit. He'll still be super valuable. I think what the implication is more is Russell Wilson as an offensive player, as a fantasy quarterback last year with his legs alone out, you just gave the stat outside the top 20 in passing. I think he was the number three overall.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Fantasy quarterback. So his upside is he's never had a number one receiver. And no, I'm not counting Sidney Rice. He's never had somebody to throw to that is as capable as Jimmy, especially in the red zone. That's why Marshawn lynch gets the ball every single time, because he's capable in the red zone. You need to be able to give them both the opportunity to succeed. So in some regards, I don't see Marshawn changing too much in production. They did just pay him a bunch of money, but I think Russell Wilson is the highest upside of this trade for sure.
Jason Moore
So where do you. Where do you put him? Standard leagues as far as ranking.
Andy Holloway
And I put him at three. I put him at three. I put him behind Rogers and Luck.
Jason Moore
So you draft. You're on the board and you can draft Peyton.
Andy Holloway
I take Russell Wilson.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Which is strange for me to say out loud.
Mike Wright
Another concern for me with Seattle now, and I'm not saying that Zach Miller is Jimmy Graham. However, Seattle is known to make in the Pete Carroll era. Seattle has made several moves where they paid a high price to not use a guy like Zach Miller. I believe they gave him $7 million. They didn't use him at all. He got buried. They traded a one and a four for Percy Harvin. Gave him a huge contract. Now, granted, Harvin was injured for a lot of his tenure in Seattle, but as was Miller. But they shipped. They shipped Harvin out of town. I mean, and now they're paying a huge price. They're losing one of the best centers in the league. You're getting Jimmy Graham, who has a reputation for being soft. Who's a soft player coming to a team that their, their team identity is toughness, is strength, is blocking and you're going to put him on the field. That's another concern for Marshawn lynch is now you're tight. Now you have a tight end in who is not the best blocker. I shouldn't say I need to look at his numbers, but he's going to.
Andy Holloway
Be running some routes.
Mike Wright
Yeah, he's. He's going to clear out. I just, I, I have. I.
Andy Holloway
You're in. Wait and see.
Mike Wright
My head is still a whirlwind of trying to figure this out because I'm not, I'm not completely sold on Jimmy Graham just automatically being the number two tight end again.
Jason Moore
Well, let me sell you just for one second with a stat I just looked up because I was curious how many points both of those teams put up this last year. You know, is there a huge discrepancy in points per game and yards? And so New Orleans last year did outscore Seattle. I think we would all expect that. They're a higher power offense and they put up 401 points. They were the ninth highest in the league. Granted that was with Jimmy Graham right behind them was Seattle scoring only seven points left with less with 394. So it's one touchdown less. But of course they didn't have Jimmy Graham. So I think going over their yards, their total yards there was 800 yards difference. So I think the yards might, might change. But you got to keep in mind that Jimmy moving switches the capability of the offense and he might be able to make Seattle not just a defensive team.
Mike Wright
Does that. Are you able to pull up 2013's numbers?
Jason Moore
I sure am.
Mike Wright
Because last year was a really down year for the Saints and Jimmy Graham. I mean you get, you had, you had goose egg games from Graham.
Jason Moore
That's very fair in if we, if we use the numbers from New Orleans. Well, here's, here's something that I don't think we would expect. New Orleans this last year. 500 more yards than the year before.
Mike Wright
Wow.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that's really surprising. However, they did score more two years ago. They scored 13 points more, so barely more. So the offense actually wasn't that.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, there's kind of a deceptive nature to Seattle's offense and our perception of them because they are. I mean if you put them at number 10 in the league, that's a good scoring team. But a lot of that has been a situation where they're grinding out the clock and then scoring a lot of points late is the perception. So that's a really good stat. That's interesting to know. I think Jimmy. I think we all kind of expect maybe receptions and yards to go down a little bit and touchdowns to probably stay the same, maybe. Maybe even go up based on the last underwhelming year from Jimmy. So we should move on a little bit here because there's apparently a million things to cover. Recent tweets say that Ryan Matthews has left the facility in Philadelphia. However, he might just be getting a physical. So we have no clue what's going on. Sam Bradford and Nick Foles were swapped in a trade that we didn't see coming. You got, you got a take on that, Mr. Hitman?
Mike Wright
I have a, I have a stat total. Now let's say you. If I told you there was a quarterback on what is being regarded as a low powered offense, not a high scoring. They're a good defensive team with. So think kind of the. The old school Ravens. Now if I gave your quarterback a 90.9 quarterback rating, 32 touchdowns, nine interceptions and almost 4,000 yards, would you take that?
Jason Moore
Oh, I love it.
Mike Wright
Every day now that's the pace Sam Bradford was on in 2013. He got in. He. Now he got hurt, as he always gets hurt. But he had played seven games. I believe, and we're forgetting this in 2013, that Bradford was on a spectacular pace. He was actually we were talking about him for fantasy as a streamer. So you move him. Why Bringing up these numbers is really the nine interceptions. The Philadelphia Eagles were interception machines with Sanchez and Foles last year. Clearly Kelly had had enough. I mean, he brought Sanchez back to be the backup, but he wants a quarterback who is accurate, who's not going to turn the ball over, which is.
Andy Holloway
To do what Foles did two years ago, which is why he probably got to stay in the lineup is because he falls. Wasn't throwing picks two years ago. Right, right.
Mike Wright
Well, and I talk about that frequently where I say how fluky that was. If you go back and watch the film of how many dropped interceptions Foles had. Now Bradford coming out of college was a highly accurate quarterback.
Andy Holloway
He drops him big arm he's got.
Mike Wright
And he drops it right in the box for the receiver. It just. He has an injury problem and he keeps tearing his ACL and. And now Bradford is. I'm not going to say he's a. He's. He's not going to run like Mariota, but he's going to be more elusive and built for Chip Kelly's offense than Foles.
Jason Moore
I would be as well Foles not known for mobility.
Mike Wright
Jason Moore not known for mobility.
Jason Moore
No, that is factually accurate. No, I really am intrigued with Bradford here. This year you've got the starting quarterback, presumably on a high powered offense. You see two years ago a player who didn't know the offensive system yet that was put in as a starter blew up and he doesn't have as much talent as Sam Bradford. You also see the Eagles believing in Sam Bradford. Apparently they put in a ton of study in film and in their sport, their own sports science. They believe they have a superstar in Sam Bradford and we know they're going to put up points. We know that for sure. And we know that every single play the quarterback's going to get the ball. So I really like Sam Bradford from a fantasy perspective. I don't know where I rank him yet, but he's high for me. I would take him over most other quarterbacks in the league. So I think, you know.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, what are you talking fantasy?
Jason Moore
Yes.
Andy Holloway
Matthew Stafford or Sam Bradford? And how are we going to have to turn your mic off?
Jason Moore
Yes. Sam Bradford.
Mike Wright
Tony Romo or Sam Bradford?
Andy Holloway
This is a bombshell that has to result in a bet right now.
Jason Moore
I think that at that point I would have to take Tony Romo from a history perspective, but that's where I've got.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Jason Moore
I really do believe that.
Mike Wright
Eli Manning or Sam Bradford.
Jason Moore
Well, I think Eli's on for a big year, so I don't see Eli like last year with, especially with Vereen going there. I love you.
Andy Holloway
So you're, you're talking Bradford in the 9 to 12 range.
Jason Moore
I, you know, let me, let me, let me pull it up. I'm going to write it down.
Andy Holloway
I'm gonna look at my number. I'm gonna look at your number. I think he is, man.
Mike Wright
I mean my face is melted right now.
Andy Holloway
Right. I mean you can't expect injury, obviously and ACLs are, are an unfortunate fluky type of thing. I've never seen a quarterback with more unknown after five years of being in the NFL than Sam Bradford. He is a stand up guy. Him and Murray were. You knew this, right? That they were. Yeah, college roommates. Very interesting if they combine in this offense for Chip Kelly.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I put him at nine.
Andy Holloway
You have him at nine.
Jason Moore
Nine is where I have him. Which means he should be, he should be drafted and I would take him.
Andy Holloway
Over a lot of guys. I would imagine Nick Foles would be at nine for. I mean, if the situation was on the same team. I wonder if Foles would be much Different. Maybe a couple spots different.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
They lost Macklin. We don't know what the drafting at wide receiver.
Jason Moore
Here's some guys that I would have taken over Nick Foles that I won't take over. Sam Bradford, Joe Flacco, Carson Palmer, Philip Rivers, Ryan Tannehill. I would take all those guys over Nick Foles. I would take Sam Bradford over all those guys.
Andy Holloway
I can see that.
Mike Wright
Really? You heard it here. You're gonna take.
Andy Holloway
I like it.
Mike Wright
You're gonna take.
Andy Holloway
I guess I like the strong take.
Mike Wright
The Cardinals are just switching, but you would take. You take Bradford over Palmer.
Andy Holloway
Is that regardless of the DeMarco Murray situation or is that figuring into your decision here?
Jason Moore
That's figuring into my decision. A good strong running game. They played together in college. They know each other. I think there's going to be good rapport.
Andy Holloway
Wow. Okay, let's go to. Let's hit a couple smaller moves that have taken place. Shane Vereen signed with the Giants. He has Rashad Jennings. Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams to compete with in the backfield. Is Shane Vereen an RB3 4. What is he?
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Is he worse?
Mike Wright
It's the same old same old with Shane Vereen. PPR. He's ranked higher standard. He's lower in PPR. I would put him at like a high end 3. Maybe you roll with him as your 2 if the rest of your team is. Is built for it. But he's. He's a backup.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Jason Moore
Jennings, Vereen and Williams are all playing every game and I just hate that.
Mike Wright
Don't forget Oingo Boingo.
Jason Moore
Oh, yeah, Chris. Chris Owingo Boingo. That's just too busy for me. I don't like the backfield at all, but I do it. Oh, yeah.
Andy Holloway
You've been distracted.
Jason Moore
I have been entertained.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Jason Moore
No, I, I.
Andy Holloway
Does Shane Vereen help Eli Manning?
Jason Moore
Yes.
Mike Wright
Oh, yeah.
Andy Holloway
Okay. So that, that might be the greatest fantasy contribution he makes to.
Jason Moore
Vereen has ruined the running backs and has helped Eli Manning.
Mike Wright
I say I've noticed there is some buzz building about my man Eli Manning. I just wanted on note on the record, which it is on record because I posted an article about it months a month ago that I was all over that Eli Manning. You heard it here in the time machine first.
Andy Holloway
There you go.
Mike Wright
I love Eli Manning.
Andy Holloway
So I got to take on this next one. Andre Johnson signed with the Indianapolis Colts.
Mike Wright
But I wanted it great.
Andy Holloway
We were talking about him a little before. I loved him there. I went back and did a little research because I wanted to see What I remembered Wayne in his year 34 season when luck was a rookie and Luck came in when Wayne was 34. Here. Here were Wayne's numbers. Okay. 106 receptions, 1355 yards and six touchdowns. I see that as a strong possibility for Andre Johnson next year in Indianapolis.
Mike Wright
I would not.
Andy Holloway
And I put him at least 90 receptions, 1100 yards and six touchdowns.
Mike Wright
That's more reasonable to me. Oh, he's dropping.
Andy Holloway
Drops the pin and I'll be drafting him higher than you.
Mike Wright
That's possible. Those numbers are inflated because 1. Ty Hilton had not come into his own. Andrew Luck was new. No. Ty Hill had not become.
Andy Holloway
I'm agreeing with that. But what you said next was the point too. What did they. What did Pep, Hamilton and them do in that first year? Ryan Luck did not throw the ball and he put up 106. I think those things even out a little bit.
Mike Wright
I think he had. Luck had done the rookie thing of targeting onto to the veteran. With that said, I still love Andre Johnson as I really like him in.
Andy Holloway
Those two Texans games too.
Mike Wright
Oh, yeah. The. I would put him in the wide receiver to probably around this 18 to 20 range is where I would have him just spitballing.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Yeah, I'm going to limb. Go out on a limb here and I'm gonna put him in back half of the wide receiver one category which is extremely bold, I realize.
Mike Wright
10 to 12.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, probably. Probably 1112.
Jason Moore
Okay, so let me give you some players around that range and I'll see.
Andy Holloway
Okay. See if I'm right. See if I'm telling the truth.
Jason Moore
Yeah. So let's say that. Well, I mean, clearly first Ty Hilton or Andre.
Andy Holloway
Andre Johnson.
Jason Moore
Really? So you see him as the number.
Andy Holloway
One there over Ty, fantasy production wise.
Jason Moore
Okay. All right. Emmanuel Sanders or Andre Johnson?
Andy Holloway
Emmanuel Sanders, Kelvin Benjamin.
Mike Wright
That's on. That one's easy for me because I dislike Cam Newton.
Andy Holloway
So yeah, I'll go Andre Johnson.
Jason Moore
Okay, here's a one that's very appropriate. DeAndre Hopkins becoming the number one.
Andy Holloway
I like Hopkins.
Jason Moore
I think I'm actually on the. On Andre Johnson, I'd go Johnson.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Jason Moore
I'm not positive that Deion.
Andy Holloway
Well, yeah, I mean, these are great names. Those are all really close.
Mike Wright
Throwing the ball to Nuck. Is it Mallet or is it Hoyer? Hoyer got the bigger contract.
Andy Holloway
I'm not worried about it.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I am.
Andy Holloway
I think. Yeah, I think those two are close. I mean, that's probably. Those are all the guys that are giving the same range and once we get our rankings all figured out. Maybe I'll figure those out. Maybe he's more in the 13, 14 range, but he has lot of upside and he's not as old as we think. And that possession receiver role, I mean, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's going to be the Kobe Fleen or Dwayne Allen. Not enough underneath targets for Johnson. But I think he, in that offense is going to put up six to eight touchdowns at least.
Jason Moore
No, I think you're right. I think he's going to get a ton of balls. He's going to put up six to eight touchdowns. I really, really do like him. And the thing that I like the best about him is that he's angry. He's. He was upset that he was told that he's only going to get 40 targets. He's not leaving to another team because remember, I can't wait to watch football. San Diego offered him a monster contract. You know that.
Mike Wright
Yes. Yeah.
Jason Moore
I mean, and that's a good quarterback, a decent offense, and he took less money because he wants to go with luck. He wants to play Houston twice a year, play with Gore. He's. He's got a chip on his shoulder and he's got big, broad shoulders. I like that.
Andy Holloway
My wife, you want chips all over them.
Mike Wright
And Andre Johnson has built a Hall of Fame career with garbage at the quarterback position.
Andy Holloway
Are you insulting Matt Schaub?
Mike Wright
Yes.
Andy Holloway
Okay, good. Thank you.
Mike Wright
And to. It is a very exciting to see what he can do, even though I wish he would have had it earlier in his career. But at least now, better late than never. Let's see what he can do with a great quarterback.
Andy Holloway
All right, let's move on and talk about the number one wide receiver out of the beautiful Golden State, San Francisco.
Mike Wright
Oh, do we get the toilet zone? You got that ready?
Andy Holloway
Goodness, no, I don't. How about this?
Jason Moore
That works.
Andy Holloway
That works.
Jason Moore
It's a nice tugboat out in the.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Little foghorn out in the San Francisco Bay.
Jason Moore
Yeah. My heart breaks right now for Niners fans. I mean, it's not fair. It's not fair. You have been a powerhouse team. You have been a team that was built the right way, set up to succeed. If I was a fan, I mean, you. You start to trust your franchise.
Andy Holloway
Rough.
Jason Moore
And now it's just like, oh, I just feel so, so bad. I don't want to talk about it because the Niners.
Andy Holloway
I'm fine talking about it. The Niners fans.
Jason Moore
Well, that's true. We are Cardinals fans.
Andy Holloway
But keep listening if you're in San Francisco.
Mike Wright
How. How insufferable is Jim Harbaugh like that? That's the question.
Andy Holloway
How could he be. How insufferable could he be to let this.
Mike Wright
Well, they kicked him out, and now.
Andy Holloway
Three straight NFC title game, and now everything is eroding.
Jason Moore
Yeah. He's doing cartwheels. Every morning he wakes up and just do cartwheels out of his bed. He's so excited of their implosion to be in.
Andy Holloway
To be in Michigan. Yeah. I mean, it's crazy.
Mike Wright
Do we even say Tori Smith? Did we say the name?
Andy Holloway
No, we didn't. Torrey Smith.
Mike Wright
Too busy with the fog.
Andy Holloway
The honest truth is, it's. I'm not a big Tory Smith fan. I think they overpaid for him, and he'll probably put up. Okay numbers there. We're talking. Go look up Anquan Bolden in the past, you know, or not Bolden, you know. Yeah. In that ballpark, probably 75 catches for Tory Smith. Bolden, I believe, is seven or eight touchdowns. Yeah, he is. I just mean in terms of kind of a cap that I see from the wide receiver position on that team. I don't know. Smith is not. Not going to excite me there any more than he did in Baltimore. I think the numbers will be similar for him.
Jason Moore
I think he's a good tool to stretch the field, but I don't like him from a fantasy. I don't want him on my roster.
Andy Holloway
Well, he's one of those poisonous guys that tempts you with the Monday Night Football game where he catches three touchdowns or does something that looks pretty, and then he just doesn't put it up consistently.
Mike Wright
Yeah. But. Yeah, I don't want to just crap over choice. I do like him. I think he's a good player. The. What we're. I think the bigger thing we're saying is that they gave him $40 million.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. They gave him a lot of money to come into a system that's changing with a running back that they've lost.
Mike Wright
And the quarterback who they have stated is going to run.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. So it's just. And their defense, you know, doesn't look good.
Mike Wright
Their people are retiring, and that's just.
Andy Holloway
A lot of mean. Where discomfort around that team where you.
Mike Wright
Got, like, Patrick Willis. I mean, it is. Was his. Is his injury that bad, or is he saying, I don't want to play for the San Francisco 49ers anymore?
Jason Moore
No. His injuries that bad.
Mike Wright
He's.
Jason Moore
He's. He's not coming back to another team. He seems to me to say because everything that I've read seems he's very genuine.
Andy Holloway
He's just done.
Jason Moore
He's moved on and he's fine and happy with third.
Andy Holloway
Third first ballot hall of Famer. Assuredly that will ever not take a snap after his 30th birthday.
Jason Moore
Well, I don't think he's first ballot hall of Fame at all.
Andy Holloway
I think he's all of Famer.
Jason Moore
I think he's worthy and should be in the hall of Fame.
Andy Holloway
He'll be in the Hall.
Mike Wright
He will be in the Fashion hall of Fame for starting the new trend of wearing your tie inside of your collar. Did you see this?
Andy Holloway
No, we didn't see this. You're the fashion guy.
Mike Wright
His retirement speech. He was wearing the tie inside the shirt.
Jason Moore
I did not see it.
Mike Wright
Looking like a Chippendales dancer.
Andy Holloway
Wow. He's ready to move on.
Mike Wright
But if I was built like Patrick Willis, that's why I'd wear my tie. I'd wear only a tie in my retirement speech.
Andy Holloway
What is your take on. What is your take on CJ Spiller?
Mike Wright
Sorry for grinding the show to a halt right there with my. My physique talk. CJ's. Well, we don't know where he's gonna land yet, but the. He's running.
Andy Holloway
Make any sense for him to go to New Orleans? Why. Why this New Orleans?
Mike Wright
Okay, him. The talk of him going to New Orleans is just ludicrous. I think media hype, the. They're in severe cap trouble. That they are. They still have to make more cuts. You made a commitment to Mark Ingram. I mean, how do you. How do you bring C.J. spiller? How can you afford C.J. spiller?
Jason Moore
That news to me sounded just like the ridiculous news of. Well, the Eagles are still looking at DeMarco. Murray, it's like you just signed Ryan Matthews. There's no need. There's no cap room. So are we sure that Mark Ingram has been paid as he signed on the dotted line?
Mike Wright
I think the contract is done for ingram.
Jason Moore
I think C.J. spiller goes to Dallas. I think Dallas is going to need to make a splash. They're not going to want to wait for the draft. I think they'll probably also draft somebody, but I think they've got to go out and get a name. And CJ Spiller was rumored to be their backup plan from the get go. CJ Spiller has been patient and it would be really nice.
Andy Holloway
He'll be cheap, too. Comparatively.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Comparatively, yeah, compared to Murray. But he's. What do you think he's got to be a score. He's right in that range that they wanted to pay Murray.
Jason Moore
I'll tell you this, his agent's smart in the sense that C.J. spiller is what's left.
Mike Wright
I mean. Yes.
Jason Moore
Who out there? If you're a team and you want to make a splash, CJ Spiller's the last splash you can make. He's got. He might earn an extra million dollars a year just by being patient.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I just, I don't know if C.J.
Andy Holloway
Spiller, Ryan Matthews might sign with Dallas.
Mike Wright
Yeah, we don't, honestly don't know what Ryan Matthews is gonna do. But I don't. I just don't know if Spiller's that back that, that Dallas needs.
Andy Holloway
No, I don't think he is.
Jason Moore
Not at all. He doesn't fit the scheme. I don't like him there.
Andy Holloway
I like Spiller. I just like him as a, as a two. I mean, I like him healthy and as a two or as a compliment.
Jason Moore
And I like him in a. In space. I like him on a team that's.
Andy Holloway
Go put him in Baltimore. If for Sutley's go put him in Baltimore or something like that. Let me ask one more quick question before we hit the mailbag. Remember, you can email us@mailhefantasyfootballers.com we'll answer any of your questions on the show. We got three of them we're going to answer today. But let me ask one quick question. There's some big switches taking place on the defensive side of the ball. You had sue go to Miami. You had Holote Nada go to the Lions. You had Revis re up with his old team, the jets, comparatively. By the way, I was talking to somebody about this this morning. We've said running back is the worst position to be in football in terms of getting paid. You know, DeMarco, look at this situation. He did the best he could do on the best team he could do it on, and they won't even pay him. The opposite of that is Darrell Rivas, who has received, I believe 18 lifetime contracts in his career. I mean, it is incredible because this guy doesn't seem to age. He's great. And he's positioned himself to get at what, $20 million last year with the Patriots for a one year deal and then comes out and gets 70 something million, like 40 million guarantee guaranteed. Yeah. And signs with the jets playing for Todd Bowles. Quick, quick note on any fantasy relevance for these big time trade or a big time signings. Defensively, good for Jets. Miami good for Todd Bowles.
Mike Wright
Because the scheme that Todd Bowles runs is he has to have strong cornerbacks because he. He blitzes and goes man across the board constantly. The sue. I mean, suit of Miami. I just. I don't. I don't know how you can give anybody who's not a franchise quarterback that much money.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And we kind of disagreed on that. I kind of thought he's worth it.
Jason Moore
I do not.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I. To get back on the jets real quick, though. I mean, if your defense improves with Bulls and let's say they bring Cromartie in and you have Reavis and Cromartie, does the running game of the get a bump in fantasy value? That's what I'm saying.
Jason Moore
Absolutely. I think that they're going to want to run the ball, but it's just a matter of waiting to see who the running backs are going to be there. I am so excited for this rookie running back class to see where these guys land and totally change our rankings.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Yeah, they do. They do that. The jets are ascending. Oh, and we didn't even bring up Fitzmagic to the Jets. Is he the quarterback now?
Andy Holloway
I think he is. We talked about this on Tuesday. I think he'll be the starter.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
And when you say Fitzmagic, tell the world you mean Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Mike Wright
The world knows who I'm talking about. When I say magic grow. I think I have a. I have one quick note for Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Mike Wright
Grow your beard back.
Jason Moore
I totally agree. He went on grow up.
Mike Wright
He was Samson when he shaved his beard. He lost all his powers. He got benched when he shaved his beard.
Andy Holloway
It's true. And he was.
Mike Wright
And wear a tie inside your collar.
Jason Moore
That looks. That looks really neat. I just looked up the pictures.
Mike Wright
Did you?
Jason Moore
Yeah. I didn't even understand what I was looking at. And then. Oh, yeah.
Mike Wright
He's just.
Jason Moore
He's like, I don't care about your rules.
Andy Holloway
I'm surprised he wears a shirt at all. Really.
Mike Wright
That's what I'm saying.
Andy Holloway
I'm very surprised. Just. Just the tie. That would be the best retirement speech ever.
Mike Wright
Like to doing sit ups.
Jason Moore
Don't care about your rules.
Mike Wright
Yeah. I'm leaving. He's got two dumbbells. Shoulder pressing. Retiring from the NFL. Yes. I can still beat you up.
Andy Holloway
I would say that'll make all the San Francisco fans just a little sadder seeing this linebacker doing. Wow. Yeah. So any other implications? I think Sudo Miami, I think their defense was already pretty good. I I like Miami this year. And by saying I like Miami generally, what that means is I think that they have a good shot of being the second best team in that division compared to the other two.
Mike Wright
The Patriots are losing guys.
Jason Moore
Patriots and jets will be there.
Mike Wright
That was a joke.
Andy Holloway
Patriots are losing guys. I think we said that before. Let's move it on.
Jason Moore
Mailbag.
Andy Holloway
Man. Got that excitement, that Twitter excitement. I'm trying to check Twitter to make sure I'm not missing anything.
Mike Wright
I got it open. You're so. You're good.
Andy Holloway
Peyton Manning exchange for Tom Brady. Did you know that just went through?
Jason Moore
Straight up.
Andy Holloway
Straight up. Yeah. Tom Brady though, he's on the downside. Oh, breaking news.
Mike Wright
The Browns have added Thad Lewis.
Andy Holloway
I saw that super bowl mailbag. All right, Thomas from Green Bay wants to know he has keeper question. He has to keep three of these five. No draft pick compensation for them. So just pick three. Marshawn Lynch, Jeremy Hill, Aaron Rodgers, Randall Cobb, Calvin Johnson. How does he have all these guys?
Mike Wright
Green Bay, first of all, congratulations for winning your league. Second of all, get in a real league.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Not to insult your league, but if you're, if you're good enough to get.
Andy Holloway
All these four team league.
Mike Wright
If you are a good enough player to get these guys on your team, you need, it's go to. You need to get in the league with some higher competition. You got to stretch out, man. You got to flex, you got to exercise, you got to grow.
Andy Holloway
Marshawn Lynch, Jeremy Hill, Calvin Johnson.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
Agreed.
Mike Wright
The. Yeah, I mean that's, that's tough. I mean because there's no penalty and you, you do have. So you have to think somewhat, I guess for the future and who is going to be available if. I mean, what are the other running backs that are being kept.
Andy Holloway
Well, they didn't mention that it was dynasty, so to speak. So in a keeper situation. Yeah. You do have to look at your.
Mike Wright
Saying if it's a. We didn't and we didn't get league size. So if it's a 12 team league and everyone's keeping three guys and you can keep. I saw that people are keeping three running backs. Who's available is what I'm saying. For, for possibly keeping lynch and Hill.
Andy Holloway
That's what I said we did. We said Lynch, Hill. Oh, Lynch, Hill, Calvin, I think you.
Jason Moore
Have to keep both. I would love to go into my league just with two stud running backs right off the bat.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And again, philosophically, when you're drafting, you need to be looking at where these guys would go in terms of value, you know, it's easy to see names, big names and want to keep a guy like Aaron Rodgers, but you have to think about on the draft board where would these guys go and are you getting the best value for your keepers? So Bryant from somewhere in New Mexico wants to, wants to know, should I trade, I guess this must be a dynasty or a keeper league. Should I trade Jimmy Graham for Jeremy Hill straight up? Yes, yes.
Jason Moore
No, I'm gonna say I would keep.
Andy Holloway
Jimmy Graham as a positional advantage.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Because I think, I think there is still a positional advantage here. And I, there is a drop off again after Jimmy Graham. So I hold on to him. He's special. Jeremy Hill is good.
Mike Wright
So I think I do the trade. I think he's, I think Jeremy Hill's borderline special. If you look at when the team finally committed to Jeremy Hill, it took a while because he's a rookie. He had to earn it. But he has top five potential. And Jimmy Graham, yeah, he's, he has the top, the number two potential.
Jason Moore
But I, obviously it depends on your team too. I mean if this is, presumably this is a keeper league or something where they've got more players and so if, if you know, you know the makeup of your team, if you've got other running backs, you know, then, then I would rather keep Jimmy. If you're hurting there and you've got a bunch of wide receivers and you need running backs, then, then make the deal. I'd like both of those players on my team. So it's a fair trade.
Andy Holloway
And then this next question comes in from Matt from Tucson, Arizona. I'm going to direct this one at the Hitman here because he's in a league that probably has the answer to this question. Essentially this guy's in a 12 team keeper league in which they keep guys and they don't do the draft pick compensation for them. They want to rotate to where they do do the draft pick compensation. So how do they make that adjustment? What tools can they use to begin to force players to trade a draft pick if they haven't done that before? Okay, so you're in a league that uses some standings, right? Yahoo.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I'll go into the, my league's rules, which I think are fantastic. My first thing I'll say is going from a, I guess it's already a keeper league, so introducing penalties isn't too bad. I was gonna, I was thinking of if you're going from a redraft into a keeper, it becomes a little more difficult because you have to decide, do you get to keep guys that you already had? Basically what I'm saying is don't. You can't just switch to a keeper league until it's already been agreed upon and you have a new draft. Don't, don't be that commissioner because I have some friends. I have a friend of mine who this year who came to me and.
Andy Holloway
Said, oh yeah, plan ahead.
Mike Wright
The commissioner after the draft decided is now a keeper league.
Jason Moore
Yeah. You would draft people.
Mike Wright
Are you kidding?
Andy Holloway
That league is what I said.
Mike Wright
Yeah. So what one of my leagues does is your compensation is based off of the service that you use for your league. For example, we. For that league, we are in NFL.com and so this might get a little convoluted. So I'll try and explain it the best I can. Top 24 Guys, if they're ranked in the top 24 of NFL.com they cannot be kept.
Andy Holloway
That's what your league does. Yes, but you guys rely on the service.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Andy Holloway
In terms of where they place the rankings.
Mike Wright
However, there are exceptions to this rule and it's a two keeper rule that if you had drafted a guy in the fourth round or later and then they. So then they get better, you're rewarded. You. Does that make sense? Yeah, that I found a guy like last year I drafted Jeremy Hill very late in every single one of my leagues. So I took him in that league. I would then be able to keep him because I drafted him late and I'm being rewarded for finding him.
Andy Holloway
Now could you, could you go back and just look at last year's initial rankings and just use that for everybody? I mean this guy's situation is there are keepers from years past, so just use. Yeah. Essentially adp. But maybe you use the rankings from a Yahoo or an ESPN or CBS official.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that's what I would do because I think they're wanting to change it into standardized keeper. They've got some funky rules probably and they want to change it. So I would just go back. The only thing you could do is look at average draft position from previous years.
Andy Holloway
So this is really a dynamic because he has previous keepers.
Mike Wright
You have to look at it for the upcoming year because that's the price you should pay. Is what is the value of the keeper for this current year?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I actually agree with that. You probably need to do that. Well, no, because normally you don't reward them for last year.
Jason Moore
Well, but that's, that's. I mean normally if I'm losing a pick, I'm not losing a pick based on where guys are going to go this year.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, but you have to do that if your situation is. Let's say that one of these teams has Adrian Peterson, but he's been a keeper for four years. Okay. So you can't give him the compensation of just last year. For Adrian Peterson, I think you just wipe the slate clean with what they're forecasted is for this year and then make your changes.
Jason Moore
That's called the Redraft league.
Andy Holloway
No, no, it's not.
Mike Wright
You keep the guys. You just, you, you're paying the price. So let's say. So in that league I will be keeping likely Le'Veon Bell and Julio Jones. So I will. There's some other rules, but let's just say I'm giving up my first and.
Andy Holloway
My second round pick based on.
Mike Wright
Because that's where they are projected to go. Does that make sense?
Jason Moore
Yeah. Yeah, makes sense. I just want to answer Matt's question. Well, for him and.
Mike Wright
Because I think that's how you have to do it. Because the value of a player should be on what they're going to do this year, not, not last year. Because that then you're getting. What are we laughing at?
Andy Holloway
I think I know Matt P. I think we know Matt P. From Tucson, Arizona. I just realized that. But.
Mike Wright
Oh yeah, you can get that.
Andy Holloway
I think he's, I think he's a fan of the show. I know that.
Mike Wright
So I mean if you're going off of last year because then somebody could have picked up ODB off the waiver wire and last year his value was garbage. So you're.
Jason Moore
But that's how it is in a keeper league.
Andy Holloway
But they didn't know it was a keeper league. So you're awarded.
Mike Wright
Yeah, they already was in Hilbert.
Andy Holloway
You're right. You're right. Okay.
Jason Moore
So that's what I'm saying. I would go from. Personally I'd go from last year's average.
Andy Holloway
So Matt, figured out yourself, you got.
Jason Moore
A lot of options here, Matt.
Mike Wright
You can't, you can't reward a waiver pickup to cost nothing to keep for the current year.
Andy Holloway
Right. I see what you're saying. If he's a waiver pickup.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Well, you can, you can do whatever you want.
Mike Wright
That's just, it's garbage.
Andy Holloway
You wouldn't do that.
Mike Wright
Yeah, that's garbage.
Andy Holloway
All right, we're going to wrap it up here. I'm not seeing any other breaking news that I have to. I mean, you'll know it before we do breaking news.
Jason Moore
We live in Chip Kelly's universe.

I should also say Jason and I have a water beta on LaShawn McCoy's yards per carry this year.
Mike Wright
Oh, yeah.
Andy Holloway
Because he wasn't ballsy enough to do the top 10 bet.
Jason Moore
So you weren't to do the top five. Got it.
Andy Holloway
Well, because I don't have him in my top five. So it'd be a good reason. LaShawn McCoy, 4.5 yards per carry, which I think is a good over under bet. And I have him over.
Jason Moore
And I have him under.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And that is the bet. So, you know, history will obviously repeat itself since he already got good.
Jason Moore
He got 4.2.
Andy Holloway

Mike Wright
No, it's about the NFL veterans combine. Tim Tebow will not be there.
Jason Moore
Breaking unnews.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, but it's. Yeah. Tim Tebow not being someplace is still news for the show, so. All right, have a good week, everybody.
Mike Wright
