Mike Wright
Welcome to another edition of the Fantasy Footballers podcast. It is Tuesday, May 26, and we are back. And we have everybody together. The full three by three is here.
Andy Holloway
The three by three.
Jason Moore
Three by three.
Mike Wright
Jason is back.
Jason Moore
Very nice.
Mike Wright
Hello.
Jason Moore
Oh, welcome back.
Mike Wright
Me, welcome back? Yes, barely. Thank you for coming to our recording studio on time. Not at all.
Jason Moore
It's been a crazy morning. I won't tell all the stories because then the hour podcast would be up. But needless to say, I am here and I am in swim trunks. That's the real thing right now, so.
Mike Wright
Okay. Well, you're here, Mike. Hello.
Andy Holloway
Hey, what's going on?
Mike Wright
Welcome to the show, everyone.
Andy Holloway
Reminds me of the Simpsons line where Homer infers that Bart was ruined because Marge let him wear swim trunks as underpants.
Mike Wright
I don't remember that one. Are you surprised?
Andy Holloway
No, but. But the listeners will enjoy that.
Mike Wright
Yeah. There you go. So quick question for today. Are you guys ready for Hard Knocks this year? Are you guys Hard Knocks fans? Do you watch it?
Andy Holloway
I watch it religiously.
Jason Moore
I watch it a year after always. And then I feel like I already know what's gonna happen. And so I feel like a prophet.
Mike Wright
Does that make it easier for you to deal with?
Andy Holloway
Makes you feel smarter?
Mike Wright
You don't feel bad for the guy?
Jason Moore
Oh, this guy's gonna get cut.
Andy Holloway
It is interesting when you go back and then you watch the old ones like.
Mike Wright
Like Chad Johnson on Cincinnati and Dallas.
Andy Holloway
When Damian Dammy, Danny Amendola was undrafted free agent fighting to make the team. You're like, Dan dude. He turned into a sort of a superstar for a little bit.
Mike Wright
You know who they're supposed to put on this year?
Jason Moore
Falcons.
Mike Wright
No, I'm here. In the front runners now are the Houston Texans.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Say Texans and Browns get a little.
Mike Wright
Bit of Ryan Mallet, Brian Hoyer action. So he's ready for that.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, that's some cube.
Jason Moore
Browns. So it's the ramifications of post Brian Hoyer or the ramifications of new Brian Hoyer?
Mike Wright
It's Hard Knocks. Based around Brian Hoyer.
Jason Moore
Hard Knocks, Brian Hoyer edition.
Mike Wright
Yeah, because that was the only. Only teams with Brian Hoyer would do this. Yeah, it should be coming out. What? When's camp start?
Andy Holloway
Camp starts at the end of July, I believe, and then a week later is when the show starts.
Mike Wright
We're not too far away. So welcome to the show. We got a good show today. This is a mailbag show. We got a pile of questions coming in Dynasty questions, keeper questions, trade questions, all sorts of questions. If you have a question for us, you can email us mail at the fantasy footballers.com youm can also call us 302-464-TFFB and leave your question on the voicemail there and we will get to it on the show. Please keep your emails or your voicemails concise and to the point because we get a lot of them and when I open them up and they are five paragraphs long, I break out into hives because I can't. It's a lot of reading, Jason.
Jason Moore
I know you're allergic to reading. I know.
Mike Wright
But yeah, it's easier for me to paste them into our document and then read them on the show when they're shorter. So, yeah, you can follow us on Twitter Heffballers. You can visit our website, the fantasy footballers.com A lot of people send questions in through there as well. Obviously, we are on itunes, so you can go on there, subscribe to the show, and if you are so inclined, go ahead and leave us a review. We appreciate it. A lot of guys want to know how to support the show. That's one of the big ways you can do it. Just go on there, takes two seconds, leave us a review and we read one of them on every show. So let's do that now.
Jason Moore
Reviewasaurus Rex. This one comes in from Brian from Oklahoma. This is what he says. He says this is the best fantasy football podcast out there. My only dilemma is, should I share this podcast with my friends? I've come to the conclusion that I'll do these guys a solid and share this podcast with my friends, but only after our fantasy draft. Sorry, guys, that's the best I can do. Thanks for everything. Thank you, Brian from Oklahoma.
Andy Holloway
Yes, the.
Mike Wright
I totally understand that.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I. I love having a new source. I remember vividly, especially with Andy. I would. I would say I got a new source for this year and I would hang it over his head and he would just be trying to figure out who it is. And I got new source. New source.
Mike Wright
I know it's not good for the show, but I used to absolutely keep my favorite podcast secret from.
Jason Moore
Yeah, we can't fault people for that. You're here to win.
Mike Wright
But if you got friends that are.
Jason Moore
In other leagues, I mean.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Or if you want to test your mettle and your ability, here's what you just.
Andy Holloway
You point out the podcast. A great podcast, great information, really focus on what Jason has to say and only Jason.
Jason Moore
I feel a little thrown under the bus there. Can't. I can't help but notice Jason's the wizard. Hey, we'll see.
Mike Wright
It's pretty.
Jason Moore
You know what funny is, is at the very least, Mike and I are, like, normally in sync on absolutely everything, so.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, it has been. Has been awkward for me to say the least.
Mike Wright
All right, well, we have a great show. We're gonna talk some news and notes as well and hit the mailbag. Anything exciting going on, guys? Do you have a good Memorial Day?
Andy Holloway
I did. Spent some time with the family. Did some swimming.
Mike Wright
Jason has taken off his swimming trunks since Memorial Day.
Jason Moore
Not Memorial Day. This is a memorial of Memorial Day.
Andy Holloway
Nonstop. Yeah, Nonstop swimming or Jacuzziin'I.
Mike Wright
Had plenty of hot dogs. Did some birthday celebrations for the cousin. Filled my belly. Good stuff. Let's talk some news and notes.
Jason Moore
News and notes from around the league.
Mike Wright
Surprise, surprise. Adrian Peterson is still not happy.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Still wants a trade. Won't report for reportedly won't report. Reportedly won't report to volunteer workouts. What does he sacrifice? $250,000.
Andy Holloway
What. What I had. What I was hearing, could I report.
Mike Wright
For him and selected that check is.
Andy Holloway
There was. There was no doubt he was going to skip the voluntary portion of the offseason, but his. His bonus was tied to when. When it was mandatory. And they're saying he's going to start skipping those. That's what the. The. The new scandalous reports are. But then I had heard something else that he has to actually just be involved with a certain threshold like 90% or something of the off season. Well, workouts.
Mike Wright
And then today his agent came out and said he wanted to trade as well. Or basically actually he came out and said he was strong like Darrell Rivas in the sense that he's not going to give in to his demands. Feels disrespected by the organization and they're. I guess the way that he believes he can be respected again would be to be traded financially or.
Andy Holloway
Or get some of that guaranteed because nothing, none of his salary is guaranteed. It's a lot of money. But after this year or even before they. This year, they can just cut him and.
Mike Wright
Yep.
Jason Moore
I thought this year was guaranteed.
Andy Holloway
No. Oh, no.
Jason Moore
Interesting.
Mike Wright
In other news out of Atlanta and that new offense reports are saying Devonte Freeman and Tevin Coleman will likely get equal reps in that backfield. I think we all kind of expected that. No one thought Tevin Coleman would walk in and take every carry. Oh. Any surprise there for you guys?
Andy Holloway
No. But as we get closer to the season, that will slowly start to say and Coleman's going to get more than.
Jason Moore
Yeah. And as the season plays on I never thought Devonta Freeman was a and I'm, you know, a caliber of back to be the leader of an offense. So.
Mike Wright
Yeah. And I and I'm the one that definitely disagrees with both of you and believe that devonte Freeman will get more carries than Tevin Coleman this year. So we'll have to see how that carries out. Carries out.
Andy Holloway
You sounded like Captain Kirk right there.
Mike Wright
I do an impression but I I already did start it. 25 Matt Jones. More talk about Matt Jones.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Is he becoming your boy, Andy? No, no, no.
Mike Wright
Just because he's in the news doesn't make him.
Jason Moore
No, no, no. But you talk about him a lot lately off the air to me and.
Mike Wright
Oh, third round pick. No, I just think you draft a guy that high and with the contract situation in place for Morris and I mean Morris is very solid but he has not, I don't know, he's not sexy. So I think people that's his problem.
Andy Holloway
He's not just solid. Morris is amazing.
Mike Wright
But he had his worst year of his career last year.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And it was still a great year.
Mike Wright
Which yeah, it's true.
Andy Holloway
Like, oh, it wasn't as good as. As amazing. It was just really, really good. That's a ridiculous argument. And I did some more.
Mike Wright
You have no worries about.
Andy Holloway
No. And I did some more looking on Matt Jones and, and going through his game log of individual. I am not worried about Matt Jones. If you, when you look him up for last year he, the Guy only had 11 receptions and everyone's talking up that he's going to take the receiving. The third down role of our guy who had 11 receptions last year.
Jason Moore
That was what was so weird to me is that I felt like they were drafting a replacement. Not a compliment because he's got the same type of tool set.
Andy Holloway
But.
Jason Moore
And that's where I thought they were.
Mike Wright
Saying three down, three down guy.
Jason Moore
Yeah, but he's.
Andy Holloway
And on top of that he just was not good. His, his numbers are majorly inflated by inferior talent. And then, and then when he plays anybody of note garbage.
Mike Wright
Yeah, but there's, there's so many variables in college with those type of numbers. Your offensive line, the strategy and way you're playing. I mean he got drafted in the third round for a reason. I mean just the teams didn't go oh no, we drafted him and whoops, oh, he had some bad games in college. I mean I just think the way they're talking about him in camp makes you need to do. I think he's taken Alf's spot this year.
Andy Holloway
No, but that's what the concern is growing right to, though.
Mike Wright
Right. But I think you should pay attention to him, especially in dynasty leagues, because if they move on from Alf, for whatever reason, Alf's the kind of guy, at least to me, that could stop quickly in terms of being a very valuable back.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Because if he doesn't have that, he.
Mike Wright
Doesn'T catch the ball.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Then I doubt he leaves the team and goes to another team and immediately gets that role, which means his role is just over.
Mike Wright
But, yeah, no conclusions here. Just sharing the news. Charles Singh. They keep talking about him in Tampa. Go ahead.
Andy Holloway
Keep talking about him.
Mike Wright
Lovey Smith's guy and the guy they drafted and the guy they want to be there between the tackles. Carry guy. But, you know, he didn't show it on the field last year. Some people say injuries is why. But do you. What are your thoughts on Charles Sims and the possibility that he's the guy to own in Tampa?
Jason Moore
I think he's the guy to own in Tampa, but I don't know that I want to own anybody that's in Tampa in the backfield particularly much.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And Brad Evans tweeted out that Charles Sims gained 48.6 yards after contact last year. So 48.6 of his yards were after contact.
Jason Moore
1.6.
Andy Holloway
That means he gets hit and he's down.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
That in Tampa Bay, he just.
Mike Wright
He's.
Andy Holloway
He's not going to be.
Jason Moore
Well, that's what Andy was saying. It's like that the excuse for his poor performance last year was the. The ankle injury and that that's the reason that, you know, essentially he sucked after contact. But really, I mean, it's one of those things. Where is it the injury or is he just not that talented?
Mike Wright
Well, I think for us, his hype.
Andy Holloway
Is going to have problem.
Mike Wright
Whoever's the starter is going to have production in a backfield.
Andy Holloway
Maybe. Maybe.
Mike Wright
Well, I mean, generally you get some type of value out of a starter. So is he the guy that's the starter right now? I think that's the answer is yes.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
I think his hype is going to inflate dramatically over the off season and people are going to start reaching for him and he's going to be very disappointing.
Mike Wright
What do you make of Carlos Hyde missing workouts with a leg injury? Also, simultaneous reports that Reggie Bush looks awfully good. I've been talking about Bush for a while.
Jason Moore
Reggie.
Andy Holloway
Reggie Is that an old man voice.
Mike Wright
Because he's so old?
Jason Moore
Yeah. Yeah. That was decrepit Reggie.
Mike Wright
We've been saying it. I like Reggie a lot.
Jason Moore
I do too.
Mike Wright
Undervalued.
Jason Moore
Exactly.
Mike Wright
You know, everyone wants to take the sexy new guy that walks in the door and takes Gore's role, but there's only one Frank Gore and I think this is a timeshare backfield and I think that Reggie Bush is going to have plenty of value. Probably in a better place than Hyde, at least right now.
Jason Moore
Oh, and where he's being drafted is going to be, I think way, way, way, way, way behind Hyde. I like the value there.
Mike Wright
You have any thoughts on that, Hitman?
Andy Holloway
I agree that it's not looking good for Hyde right now. I'm still not gonna let that affect my ranking too much of Hyde. I still think He's a solid RB2 with some upside. But I agree that Bush is gonna have some value.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Missing a workout in May, not all that, you know, effective.
Mike Wright
True. If you are looking to play some daily fantasy sports, make sure you go over to FanDuel.com and use the promo code ballers.
Andy Holloway
Why? Why? Because you use the code ballers and you can get up to $200 free.
Mike Wright
This rhyme is working out well for us. I'm glad that's our promo code. But no, if you're looking to play FanDuel, you can earn a little extra money by using our promo code. Also, don't forget, head over to fantasydraftwizard.com it's completely free. A great place to mock draft. People keep writing in and saying that's what they use.
Jason Moore
I love the feedback.
Andy Holloway
I did a couple over the weekend and I really wanted to send them my teams to you guys because the brag, well, they were some sexy looking teams if I do say so myself.
Jason Moore
You always do.
Andy Holloway
If I do say yeah.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I do always do say so yourself.
Andy Holloway
But it was incredible. I would get Carson Palmer with my last pick, my last position. Every draft. Yeah, except for one I got snaked.
Mike Wright
Someone took them.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, it was ridiculous.
Mike Wright
Someone. A couple guys wrote in and we'll get to them in the question section. But they, they had some late round quarterback picks that I think you'll really like. So you guys ready to hit the mailbag? It's packed full. Good question.
Jason Moore
Get those vocal cords ready, Mike.
Mike Wright
Yeah, let's do it.
Jason Moore
Mailbag.
Andy Holloway
Mailbag.
Jason Moore
Well done.
Mike Wright
I want to. Obviously you can now call us 302464, TFFB and leave your. Leave your question on Our voicemail. One that I will not be playing, but I will mention to you guys was the individual who decided to call up and say how much better Jeremy Macklin was than Alan Robinson.
Andy Holloway
He was much better. I agree. Last year.
Mike Wright
Yep, yep.
Andy Holloway
I have no quarrels with this call.
Mike Wright
Yeah, he. He called and he left one sentence of a message that said, jeremy Macklin is so much better than. And then he hung up because he couldn't remember Alan Robinson's name. And then he called back and said, oh, yeah, Alan Robinson. That's who I was talking about. And so obviously I've already won the bet. The consensus is with me and the.
Andy Holloway
From the double collar.
Jason Moore
Yeah, yeah.
Mike Wright
He might have been drunk too.
Jason Moore
Yeah. We need a breathalyzer.
Mike Wright
Yeah. So don't forget, you can call us 302-464-TFFB. You can also email us mail@the fantasy footballers.com. keep it concise and we will answer them on the show. You guys ready to answer some questions?
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Jason Moore
Do it.
Mike Wright
Let's go to the mailbag. What's up, Simon, Alvin, Theodore? You three, Chipmunk.
Jason Moore
I love the show. Listen, every week and I want to throw a tight end question your way.
Mike Wright
I've been doing the draft wizard because, well, what else would you be doing right now in May? And I basically come to the conclusion that other than the value I get for Travis Kelsey in, say, the fourth.
Jason Moore
Round, I'm basically stuck with getting a.
Mike Wright
Tight end in the later rounds. Delaney Walker, Jason Whitten.
Jason Moore
So I guess my question for you guys is if I have one guy.
Mike Wright
That I like, like Kelsey, is it beneficial for me to just say, screw it? Everybody else is basically in the same.
Jason Moore
Spot past Kelsey and just wait on.
Mike Wright
A tight end while everybody else blows past it. So just give me a tight end thought.
Andy Holloway
So he's asking if he doesn't get Kelsey.
Mike Wright
Yeah, Kelsey seems to be the only value he finds at tight end in the draft. And so if he misses him, he's.
Jason Moore
Basically straight up questioning whether or not to adopt Jason's strategy right now for this year. Because that's. That is my. That's how I'm approaching my drafts right now is I like the value of Kelsey. I think the. I'd like to have Gronk or Jimmy on my team, but I don't really even like their value. And so Kelsey's the guy that I like to target. And if I don't get him, if it goes past someone else grabs Kelsey, then, yeah, I'm picking my tight end up super late because I think there's some guys that are really, really late in ADPs that are just as good as most of the other guys. I mean, he mentioned Jason Whitten, someone he's grabbing really good love Whitten.
Mike Wright
Another guy on Twitter this week mentioned Larry Danelle, somebody we haven't talked about a lot, but has just as much value as any of those late round guys as well.
Andy Holloway
It could happen for Dinelle, but he was really only valuable for a small portion of games and people got that, that taste from the Washington game where you had three touchdowns and that kind of clout on a primetime game really changes the public opinion of a player. And he just. But that did not come through.
Mike Wright
But that's essentially what you're saying is that's the kind of argument. There's an argument like that for most of those further tiered tight ends. Right. There's some type of negative. And so I'm with you, I'm with Jason here on the idea that just wait. Unless you have a guy you really know and you really love, but even then you're playing the you got guys value game. Right.
Jason Moore
Undrafted that could, that could finish just fine. Like a Kyle Rudolph, who everyone was all about last year. And then right now I'm Turner. Yeah. In a standard league, Kyle Rudolph's going 17th. I mean, he's not being drafted. But the guy that I'm targeting right now late, because right now he's going late and I think he's going to start to fly up is Zach Ertz. I really, really believe he's going to get on the field this year from his off season, working out on pass blocking and run blocking. And so with him on the field, no Jeremy Macklin. Yep, no Jeremy Macklin.
Mike Wright
Ertz is a potential top tier.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I completely agree. If you don't get Kelsey in that spot, in that middle round spot, the guys I'm looking at getting Ertz with his up, I'm going to gamble again on that side. If it doesn't work out, whatever, I'll grab another tight end. And let's say I don't get Ertz. The other two guys who I would really be looking to get would be Jason Whitten and Tyler Ifert. Yeah, do not forget about Ifert. Gresham is gone. They replaced him with another blocking tight end in the, the tight end numbers in, in Cincinnati. If you kind of formulate them all together and give the bulk to one guy with Eifer, he's going to put up top 10 numbers.
Mike Wright
That's a Good call. I hadn't thought about him. He's coming back.
Andy Holloway
And that's the point, is people aren't going to think about him.
Jason Moore
And for the strategy, you don't need to worry. You don't need to get late and go, oh, no, I'm running out of options because Zach Ertz, Jason Whitten and Tyler Eiford that you just mentioned are the 11th, 12th and 15th tight end. You'll get one.
Mike Wright
Yeah, that's a good point. All right, let's move on to the next question here.
Jason Moore
Hey guys, it's Josh. I'm the Commissioner of a 12 team league and this year I'm going to try to expand it to 14 teams because of a lot of interest from other guys that want to get in. And I'm wondering what's your recommendation on how to do this? Should I remove a bench spot from each roster? Should I remove the flex? I have two running backs, two wide.
Andy Holloway
Receivers, one flex that can be wide.
Jason Moore
Receiver, running back or tight end. And then, you know, everything else is normal.
Andy Holloway
The scoring gives a little bit of a bonus to big games.
Jason Moore
Like for example, if a quarterback throws.
Andy Holloway
For 350 yards, they get a two.
Jason Moore
Point bonus at 300 and a two point bonus at 350. So, you know, there's value to each position.
Andy Holloway
So I was wondering how you guys do it. You know, go from 12 to 14 teams. Thanks, guys. But if you have a tremendously deep bench, I might look at removing one of the spots, but I would most likely, I would just leave the league completely alone and I would add the other two teams. I would leave that flex spot in there. You don't have the three wide receiver and the flex. And, and really, I mean, if you're just adding more strategy, if you go to a 14 team like that, where you get deeper, the, the waiver wire gets more and more shallow. And so it's just, you're getting, you're getting players. If you win, you have really put in your work where you're trying to mitigate, I guess, some of that luck. I, I still prefer 12 team, but 14 teams with that situation, I wouldn't change anything. I would just leave it how it is.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I agree. I think if you want to go play in a 14 team league, it's for more strategy. It's for needing to look deeper into the waiver wire. It's for, it's really more about those bench guys. So, I mean, yeah, if you got.
Mike Wright
A crazy large, yeah, I would say maybe five. Leave five on the Bench.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Five or six if you're there. Just don't worry about it. All right, let's go ahead and go. Let's answer another one of the voicemail questions here.
Andy Holloway
Hey, guys.
Jason Moore
Really love this show.
Andy Holloway
Had a super, super question online I read. Did a mock draft today, and somebody chose Antonio Brown number two overall. Just thought it was the most idiotic.
Mike Wright
Thing I've ever seen.
Andy Holloway
But the guy persisted to say that in some of his leagues, wide receivers were actually much more productive than running backs. So his pick was justified because he could see more value in a number one stud wide receiver than the number one stud running back. Your thoughts?
Mike Wright
Well, he's fired up about this.
Andy Holloway
That's a super question.
Jason Moore
Super, super.
Andy Holloway
He went double.
Mike Wright
What do you think? I know one thing right off the bat.
Andy Holloway
Is it PPR or not? Is the absolute first question you have. If it's ppr, then nothing wrong. It's not what I'm gonna do, but I don't think it's an idiotic move. I actually win in one of my draft wizard. I tried to spot. I think it was at the 6, so my elite running backs were off the board. And I was like, whatever, I'm going to try this. So I went Brown, and I ended up with Brown Hill for set.
Jason Moore
That's a pretty good start to start.
Andy Holloway
And I thought. And you knew. I knew at the spot that Brown would not make it back to me. And there was in the elite running backs were gone. And I didn't want to take Jeremy Hill right there because I figure he's gonna come back just based off of the. The way things have been going. And I was very happy with the start and it was a ppr. So I was. I was super happy. Super, super happy.
Mike Wright
One of the things that's funny about Antonio Brown is that, and we've said this before, he still doesn't get the respect he deserves.
Andy Holloway
The guy.
Mike Wright
You know, two years ago, if you had said, I mean, Calvin Johnson was going number one in a lot of leagues overall because he was that reliable, scored touchdowns every week, you're never going to miss it. And nobody was really faulting that. I mean, certainly those with our inclination to draft running backs would probably still draft running backs, but, you know, Antonio Brown is as tried and true as they come.
Jason Moore
Yeah, if Antonio Brown replicated what he did last year, then he just. He's justified being able to be taken number one in a ppr. I think most people think his touchdowns are going to drop, but even still, you actually have a lot More. I have a lot more confidence in him than I do on a lot of the running backs.
Mike Wright
That's what I was going to say, that I would.
Jason Moore
I'm with you. I mean, if I'm at the number two spot, I'm not taking them. But I don't think it's crazy to take him at all.
Mike Wright
Yeah. All right, we're going to go over to an email from David. He says, hey, guys, just found your show a few weeks ago. He loves it. I've only been doing fantasy football for two years, and one element I am still unsure of is trade strategy. Could you talk about that on a future show or just share some of your thoughts during a mailbag section? Well, we certainly will talk more trade strategy, David, on future shows, but I think we can share a few nuggets.
Andy Holloway
David, if you didn't hear it, go back to our top 10 tips and tricks show, because we have a spot where we talk about trades, and there's really just a few things that you have to keep in mind with the trade is for me, don't lowball. Don't come in with the lowball offer of, well, I'm gonna do this because I know he's gonna counter. Go in with a trade that you think is fair and beneficial to both teams. Maybe you. I mean, you still want to feel like you're winning the trade, but you're. You're offering a team something that they need so you can get something you need now. And there's a couple different ways to do it. Where you do. Where you can just do a player for player, or the way I like to do it is I try and trade maybe a little bit of depth so I can really upgrade one position.
Mike Wright
That's my mentality every single time I go into a trade. Two for ones are where I make my money in trades because it appears as though you're offering so much value back to a person. But to me, you only get to start a certain amount of guys. So if you can acquire, you know, and Antonio Brown for somebody, let's say you look at last year's production. So you offer, you know, Jeremy Macklin and then a running back 2 or running back 3 to pick up an Antonio Brown, some guys will jump at those opportunities just to get multiple guys.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Another way to say that is. And when we judge trades that are somewhat even, normally the tiebreaker is, I like whoever has the best player.
Mike Wright
Sure.
Jason Moore
You know, you want the top end talent.
Andy Holloway
And what the caveat of that is, if your team is Struggling. Don't be afraid to trade your best player. Let's say you have an Adrian Peterson, but you have a bunch of holes. If you can go to a team and get two quality starters, you have to think in terms of point differential, of if Adrian Peterson is getting you this many points per week, but you can get two starters where the running back replacement, he's getting a couple points less. But you're also getting a wide receiver who's getting a couple points more than what you have currently starting for you. You can't be afraid to make those trades.
Jason Moore
You know, another good strategy for trades, I call this the Andy Holloway from our.
Mike Wright
I like it.
Jason Moore
You do?
Mike Wright
Sounds intriguing.
Jason Moore
Keep trading. I mean, trade, trade, trade, trade, trade. I know you've only been playing for two years, so probably you're not going to be the best at trading yet, but what Andy does always blows me away in some of our leagues is he just. Essentially, by next week, he will have made 80 trades in one league. And each one, you know, he wins a little bit, just a little bit on most of them. Maybe he loses a little bit on one of them here. But then you look back over time and you go, okay, wait, you turned this guy, this guy, this guy into these five guys. Or, you know, it's just one of those things where if you keep winning a little and you keep trading, your team gets monumentally better. As opposed to you make one trade, you like it, and then you sit.
Andy Holloway
Maybe you have kind of a bigger picture in. Is a. An analogy for the way that Andy trades is like a mosaic puzzle. When you're shuffling those pieces around, you. You have no idea what it is, and this looks just like crap. And then you're done. All of a sudden, you got the Mona Lisa. Because the final pieces go into trading.
Mike Wright
Is all about leverage, you know, and honestly, we can give you little bits of, you know, information on, oh, we like this, we like that. But the more you know fantasy football and the more you know your league.
Andy Holloway
And your league, knowing your owners, and.
Mike Wright
That'S what I say, your league mates, I mean, you're going to be able to leverage that knowledge into winning in trade, whether that's taking advantage of somebody's home team bias.
Jason Moore
Man, we could do a whole trade show.
Mike Wright
Yeah, we probably will sometime. I mean, it's may. Come on.
Andy Holloway
It's gonna be my.
Jason Moore
Thank you, jt.
Mike Wright
All right, so that's enough on trades for now, I guess. But, yeah, pay attention to your league, your league mates, and keep doing it. All right, this email Comes in from Phil. He says he has a keeper question for a 12 team half point PPR scoring league. I can keep three players designated for the first three rounds. He has to decide between Eddie lacy, Julio Jones, Lashawn McCoy and Calvin Johnson. He says he also has a development rookie player component where he can keep or get Todd Gurley in the seventh round. Exactly. Sure how that works, but let's help him answer that first question. Eddie Lacy, Julio Jones, LaShawn McCoy and Calvin Johnson. I mean, I'm very curious, Mike, which three guys you're going to take here?
Andy Holloway
Oh, man, that is rough. First, I, I believe he's saying he could keep two of these studs and then get girly in the seventh. So give up one and two. That's the way I'm thinking.
Mike Wright
So instead of giving up his first three, he could give up two and a seven and then a seven.
Jason Moore
I would just rather have the studs rather than girl.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, that's just how I'm reading it. Yeah.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I'm just saying I would pick three of those four instead of three of those five.
Andy Holloway
So Lacy, Julio Jones are locked in and it is a really, really tough call for me between Lashawn McCoy and Calvin Johnson. I believe I would go despite my running back bias. I would go with Calvin.
Mike Wright
Of course you would.
Jason Moore
So we're in agreement then, Andy, Right?
Mike Wright
Well, I would go. Yeah. I'd go Lacey, Julio McCoy.
Jason Moore
Yeah, me too. I think that if you've got Julio as a stud wide receiver there and you can have LaShawn McCoy as an RB2 man, I love locking up those two positions and then I can because I think it's much easier to find wide receiver depth than running back depth.
Mike Wright
So I would for me too. I don't really care if you keep. As long as you keep Lacey McCoy. Of those three, if you like Calvin more than Julio, Julio more than Calvin, I don't really care which one you take. To me it's, but it is a keeper league so you probably want the.
Andy Holloway
Younger guy, Jones and, and Johnson because they're both top five. For me, where Lashawn McCoy is, you have, I think for me right now. So he's still on RB1. But for a, for wide receivers to have two top five guys is when you already. And when you have Eddie Lacy to make sure your running back core is.
Jason Moore
Is okay, you're not going to be in a bad situation.
Mike Wright
Those are all good, good options. So Ben, Ben, Benny last call. Haas says Benny last call says. Gentlemen, appreciate the fact that you guys promote the fantasy draft. Wizard.com I came across it late last off season and other than it making me think that AP was my best option, it was very useful. He was. Believe it or not, fantasydraftwizard.com cannot predict disciplinary habits of running backs in the NFL.
Andy Holloway
That's new this year, right?
Jason Moore
That Gunner got worked in made with wizardry.
Mike Wright
But he says he's already set up with the with it this year and he can't wait to dominate. So he's in a 10 team full PPR league that we turned into a one keeper league a couple of years ago. I like that. If you want to keep a player you drafted last year, you have to what? You keep them for the same pick.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Mike Wright
If you want to draft someone you picked up off of waivers, you add 30 spots to their current ADP.
Andy Holloway
I like that.
Mike Wright
Yeah, that's cool. Any thoughts on who he should keep from the following? And then so I'll give you the name and the cost. Okay. Jordy Nelson for a second rounder, Joy Bell for a seventh rounder, Travis Kelsey for an eighth, Latavius Murray for an 11th and then he could take LeGarrett Blunt for a 14, Charles Johnson for a 14, Victor Cruz for a 14. So he thinks Kelce might be the no brainer. But he also wonders if he has a brain. So he wants to know our opinion on that. What do you guys think here? This is. It's tough.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
I personally, it's actually between. I'm sorry.
Jason Moore
I was gonna say, I personally see Kelsey as a no brainer. I think he's a differentiator and I see his value in the fourth. So him in the eighth, I would take him all day. I don't see anybody else here that.
Mike Wright
Far exceeds their value. You're saying?
Jason Moore
Yeah, exactly. Just on a value. The only other person that maybe far exceeds their value would be Latavius Murray in the 11th. I mean that, you know, even if you like, like I like Jordy Nelson a whole lot more than Latavius Murray. But Latavius Murray in the 11th, I mean that's just really. What, what kind of running backs do you find in the starting position for their team with at the 11th round.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I'd say I'm not a huge Murray guy, But in the 11th to get a starting RB is spectacular value. Jordan Nelson, you can draft in the second. Oh man. Andy, go.
Mike Wright
I'd love to tell you that I would take Joe Bell in the seventh here, but I was waiting for that. It's Latavius Murray in the 11th for me, with Kelsey close. Either option there, decide between the guy you think you need. Obviously, this is a keeper league, so your league mates are either going to keep, you know, maybe they're keeping a few more of the tight ends, maybe they're keeping a few more running backs. So maybe use that to gauge the difference because both of those are great. Fair?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, that's fair.
Mike Wright
All right. Boz writes in. He says he was offered DeAndre Hopkins straight up for Todd Gurley in a one quarterback, two running back, two wide receiver league.
Andy Holloway
No flex.
Mike Wright
Yeah. What are these his keepers? The other guys he has?
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
I can't tell what he's saying here. Russell Wilson, Arian Foster, Andre Ellington, Le'Veon Bell, Joy Cabell, David Johnson, Dez Al, Shawn Jackson, DJX. Yeah, I'm getting lost on the DJ and BJ. Let's just say Hopkins for Todd Gurley.
Jason Moore
I would take the Hopkins side of it. I think that Todd Gurley still got a lot of question marks. I mean, I kind of brought this up last week, the fact that he's got question marks out there. Just saying we don't know for sure what he's going to develop into. And we know Deonder Hopkins is. I mean, last year, what do you have yards last year, the yards, I don't know.
Andy Holloway
But he was a top 15 guy. Right.
Mike Wright
I think we had a question very similar to this where somebody else was offered Hopkins for Gurley in a dynasty league. It was a different email, but I think we all said. Or Mike and I said Hopkins on that one.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And I would go, Hopkins. Hopkins is an emerging superstar who will be there at that level and could take the leap to be an elite wide receiver. Todd Gurley is. Is a guy who supposedly is the best since Adrian Peterson, which we've heard that before.
Mike Wright
Well, essentially what you're saying is both guys have potential, but one of them's hurt and one of them has shown it in the NFL already.
Jason Moore
So the last.
Mike Wright
They both have upside. You don't have to think of Hopkins as not having upside. He does, because he's right. He's the potential, you know, superstar number one, elite.
Andy Holloway
And. Yeah, and I want Hopkins.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I like Gurley. I like his tail. But I just keep thinking of the last time someone said all the AP comparisons hasn't been back this good since ap and it was Trent Richardson.
Mike Wright
And it's like, so true though, right?
Jason Moore
Yeah. No, I mean, like, oh, he's so good. He's.
Mike Wright
He's 1.5 yards of carry.
Andy Holloway
You guys are gonna eat your words on Trent Richardson.
Mike Wright
Yeah, you have. You have him very high in your rankings. I wouldn't be surprised if you put him above Latavius Murray. All that shade you're throwing.
Andy Holloway
He is not so cruel. He is not.
Mike Wright
Yeah, you better disclaim that now on the erroneous. Yeah, Mike the fancy hitman.
Andy Holloway
It's all up on Twitter.
Mike Wright
Yeah, well, the Chipotle love. I wouldn't doubt it, but. Email from Brian.
Andy Holloway
Sponsored at Chipotle, Trent Richardson and the fantasy hitman.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Hi, guys. Just started listening a few weeks ago. Love the show. He has two quick questions. He's in a 12 team, one keeper league, one point PPR. But listen to this. This is crazy. One point per QB completion.
Andy Holloway
Whoa.
Mike Wright
Yeah. League positions, normal league pretty much starts three wide receivers. So does he keep DeAndre Hopkins in the eighth, Lamar Miller in the 10th, or Teddy Bridgewater in the 15th? And we will talk about his league format in a second. But let's answer this first question. Hopkins in the 8th, Miller in the 10th or Bridgewater in the 15th? You can throw Bridgewater out. I don't care if this league gives 10 points per QB completion. You'll be able to get a quarterback, a better quarterback than Teddy Bridgewater in the 15th round. And even if you can't, you'll get Teddy Bridgewater. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Who I like. I don't know why you're crapping on Teddy.
Mike Wright
No, I'm not really crapping on him. I just don't see why you decide he'd be part of your decision here. Right. For me, I will go Hopkins, which might surprise.
Jason Moore
No, doesn't surprise. That's who I'd go to.
Mike Wright
I think I know big on Miller, so.
Jason Moore
Yeah, Mike and I are both higher on Miller because I know you've got Jai Love.
Mike Wright
Speaking of which, they came out today and said he's three down. Three down. But Mike's giving me grief because it was a. It was a beat writer.
Andy Holloway
So he's we before the show and he's like, you see that? A Jay News. And I said, who? Yeah, who said it? He said it was a Miami beat reporter. I said, so when I was talking about Kevin White and the Chicago beat reporter was saying he was great. Oh, no, that's way different.
Mike Wright
It is way different.
Jason Moore
How is that any different?
Mike Wright
Because that Chicago guy was exceptionally hyperbolic.
Jason Moore
Oh, my goodness gracious.
Mike Wright
This was very.
Andy Holloway
This is.
Jason Moore
Okay, so the way it was different. Is that it? It disagreed with your opinion?
Mike Wright
Got it. Yeah. I Think they said Kevin White was a Hall of Famer, so we'll prove that one. Okay. So he wants to know. He says we. We don't value quarterbacks as much as other. Maybe other hosts. But he wants to know, does it matter now that this league is one point per completion? And. Yeah, that's huge. That monstrous difference. Who are the. Who do you think the top completion guy was last year?
Jason Moore
Top completions? I don't.
Mike Wright
Give me three guesses.
Jason Moore
Three guesses would be Rogers. I wouldn't put Rogers in there. Drew Brees.
Mike Wright
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
Jason Moore
Did I get it?
Mike Wright
He's number one. All right, but listen to this. Number one, Drew Brees. Number two, Matt Ryan.
Jason Moore
That was my second guess.
Mike Wright
Number number three, Big Ben. Okay.
Jason Moore
Really?
Mike Wright
But. But listen to this. A guy like Russell Wilson had almost 200 less completions in the number one guy. And so disparity, it completely changes your equation. Obviously, you're still getting points for touchdowns. You're still getting points for production. But it just.
Andy Holloway
I think it. It's not going to change my value of quarterback. It's going to skew who the top guys are.
Mike Wright
Right. And that. That's probably true. But I might. I might be going. I might be moving them up because there was an elite group of completion guys versus because I looked up the numbers, thinking it's just going to be, you know, you're just raising the water level. Right. It doesn't make a difference. And I was blown away that a guy like Wilson, who could still finish number 10 in completions or 11 in completions or something, was a 200 gap.
Andy Holloway
And so he was a top 10 completions guy.
Mike Wright
I don't know if he was top 10. I can look that up again. He was pretty close.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. What I would need to see is the. The top 12 completion guys.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I think he was in that. And so the gap was different because of those guys like Ryan and Breeze, obviously, who were throwing it so much in so many short yardage situations. Big Ben. So it was interesting. I've never played in a league like that.
Jason Moore
No, never.
Andy Holloway
Even we're 0.1.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
But I've never heard of a full point.
Mike Wright
One is pretty common, I think.
Andy Holloway
But to answer the question, I'm going to take Lamar Miller.
Mike Wright
Oh, okay. In the back to the. Okay. So you're going running back. Because that's fine.
Andy Holloway
Because even with a Jaggi, I think Lamar Miller is a strong two at worst.
Mike Wright
He's going to do a lot with those 11 carries he gets every game.
Jason Moore
He only got like 15 carries a game and under last year and he was top 12 back, wasn't he?
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he was a. He was a RB one. So to get him in the 10.
Andy Holloway
It'S close for me with Hopkins, but I'm going to take the. The running back there.
Mike Wright
That's fine. That's fine, Mike. I can live with that. All right. From the website Zach writes in, he says, hey guys, great show. It's nice to hear people who care about fantasy as much as I do. Well, I think most people listening right now care about it a lot.
Andy Holloway
I challenge how much you wait.
Mike Wright
You took it as not a compliment. It's a challenge.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Mike Wright
He's in a half point PPR dynasty league. His starters are Luck, DeMarco, Antonio Brown, Travis Kelsey and Kelvin Benjamin. Nice show off. Yeah. He recently acquired the number one rookie pick. He's leaning towards Cooper or Gurley, but more towards Cooper. So which do you take with that team and those options? So he's got Luck, demarco Murray, Antonio Brown, Travis Kelsey and Kelvin Benjamin and he can't decide with that rookie pick.
Jason Moore
I would go girly. I think with Antonio Brown there. I like the future for Antonio Brown. He seems like one of those long life wide receivers versus one of those big guys that's going to slow down and so I don't know. I think his team looks like it could use the running back help a little bit more if possibly.
Andy Holloway
But I'm going to go with Cooper. I'm going to take the. I'm going to who I think Cooper. I agree he can do it all and I think his floor once. Once Cooper really gets going, which I. It may or may not be this year, but once he gets going, his floor should be very high. Kind of like an Antonio Brown guy where even if he doesn't boom for you every single week, he's not going to crap the bed.
Mike Wright
All right, so I get to split the difference here or I mean, I get to.
Andy Holloway
Sure do.
Mike Wright
And I'm going to go Cooper. I'm going to go Cooper because this looks like a team that can win this year. And so I think Cooper gives you a better chance of winning this year than girly does. I don't have any problem with you going girly if you want to play long term, but I'm a win now guy, so I'm going to take Cooper. I. I like his upside in year one, so tough decision.
Jason Moore
I will agree with that. Going for a championship this year, sometimes a dynasty or even a Keeper league. People play for the future too much. Always play for this year if you have any opportunity.
Mike Wright
It's pretty ironic you're mentioning that because the next question asks that.
Jason Moore
Well, there you go.
Mike Wright
He says he's in a 12 team PPR. This is from Daniel Snake draft. It's a dynasty startup. He says, last year we picked one keeper. This year we're picking two. Next year we picked three. And that's where they're maxing out, which is, I think, a really cool way to kind of increment your yourself into a keeper league. He says each year we randomly select draft order and then announce our keepers of dt. So Demarys, Thomas, CJ Anderson, and Foster. Which two should I keep and does the draft order make a difference? Give me your two picks for a redraft as well as dynasty. So he wants us to decide between those three guys in a redraft league and a dynasty league. He says he's inclined to play to win now and worry about the future in the future, which is. I lean that direction. Obviously you'd love to do both all the time. So Demaryius Thomas, C.J. anderson, and Foster, and I can give you my answer right of the way, right out of the gate and let you guys answer here. I'm not taking two Broncos. And you guys know I'm high on Arian Foster, so I'm going Arian Foster and Demaryius Thomas, and I'm doing that in redrafts and dynasties.
Andy Holloway
In redraft, I would go, whoo. Hold on. Let me pull up my rankings real quick because I don't want to steer this wrong, but Demarys Thomas is from man, though. Anderson and Foster to start a team.
Jason Moore
Yeah. This is a really good question. It's a tough, tough one to go with.
Andy Holloway
Is it ppr? I missed that part.
Mike Wright
It is a PPR league.
Jason Moore
Okay, well, while you're looking up your rankings, I can give mine. I think that Demarius Thomas is somebody that I have to keep out of these three because I don't have a lot of question marks for his future. Even with Peyton going, you know, let's say he's only here for a year. Demarious Thomas is an absolute top, top wide receiver, so I keep him. And then I would go with Foster over CJ for the same Bronco rule. So me and Andy are in a complete agreements. We're in cahoots.
Andy Holloway
I have those guys back to back. That's a bummer.
Mike Wright
Anderson.
Andy Holloway
Foster. Yeah.
Mike Wright
Anderson ahead of Froster.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. By like a Point.
Mike Wright
Well, basically it's a toss up. So does it make a difference to you that you'd be taking two guys on the same team?
Andy Holloway
No, not dt.
Mike Wright
Seems like the must take on a PPR here.
Andy Holloway
Yes. I'm taking Damaris Thomas for sure. And it doesn't bother me at all that they're on the same team for this year because of who they are. With Peyton, with Manning and their high powered offense, they're gonna, they're in contention for a Super bowl. So they're going to be winning a lot of games. But we, we are concerned about Anderson actually being a workhorse running back with so many guys on the roster. So if I have to lock it in right now, I'm going to lean Foster.
Jason Moore
It's funny because you're saying you like it this year, meaning redraft. You wouldn't mind having them on the same team. But for me, the only change that I would have is leaning dynasty. I might go with both Broncos just because I don't. Yeah, because Aaron Foster, I mean Arian Foster's talked about retiring already after this year. I mean he could just straight up retire and there's no value, not little value or unknown value. And so I would, I would take that risk on a dynasty.
Mike Wright
I do respect the love to win now, like we just said.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
I mean why do you play? You don't play to lose some, some in our league.
Andy Holloway
But if, if you play for only the future, you're never going to play for the now.
Mike Wright
Yep.
Jason Moore
Wise words, Mike.
Mike Wright
Yeah. You should write it.
Jason Moore
Amazing.
Mike Wright
This email comes in from Adam. He says he has a question about drafting strategy. He said this will be his 8 8th year drafting in a very competitive league and that he never goes into his draft with a plan on drafting any specific position.
Jason Moore
Good.
Mike Wright
But this year he says it might be different.
Andy Holloway
Okay, good.
Jason Moore
Spoiler alert.
Andy Holloway
Still good.
Mike Wright
He said we recently switched up our starting rosters. It looks like one quarterback, two wide receiver, two running back, one tight end, two flex.
Jason Moore
So the two flex is the real.
Mike Wright
That's the difference. You probably bumped up the flexis pot. He says his thoughts are as follows. In the first four to five rounds, he plans on taking the best wide receiver running backs available, then looking for a tight end or quarterback in the next few rounds. Or should I wait longer to target quarterbacks and tight ends? He also said he's not going to draft a kicker or a defense in the draft. Is this a solid strategy?
Andy Holloway
Yeah. So that I'm going to actually speak to that first. If your League allows. It allows you to not draft a defense or kicker. This is something that people, a lot of players don't even think of and I absolutely recommend this where you fill up your roster with two more potential sleeper guys as you wait for the season to start and for last minute news to shake things up. Like let's say at the Alfred Morris year where the news came out very, very late that all this hype came out of nowhere. Alfred Morris is going to be the guy. If you were able to hold on to him then you would have had Alfred Morris on your team. And then right before kickoff that's when you add a kicker and a defense because you that those positions are so streamable it doesn't really matter. So to his next point, unless you get guy like Kelsey a Gronk or a Graham, which I don't. I'm not spending the early picks on Gronk or Graham so I'm really speaking to Kelsey then I'm waiting a long time on tight end and if you, if you don't listen to the show then you don't. Then you don't know that I get my quarterback as late as I possibly can and then I stream it. Was this, this was a 12 team. I missed that part. Did he not say?
Mike Wright
He didn't say.
Andy Holloway
Oh well, as long if it's 12, whatever. Even if it's 14, I'm still going to stream my quarterback. Unless I can get. I'm going to target guys like Bradford, Palmer and the one guy I might take the leap on a little earlier. And when I say earlier, I mean 8th round would be Eli. But other than that I'm going to wait and I'm going to try. I'm going to get as many lotto tickets on that, on those prime positions of wide receiver and running back as I can get.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I'm, I'm fine with that. I think that I've never employed that strategy of drafting, you know, positional players and leaving your roster startless, but it makes sense. I've got no problem with that. As far as the. I feel like Adam here is not actually going in with a set. He made it sound like he was going to go in with a set strategy of this, but seems pretty loose and open. It's somewhat similar to the way that I draft. I think the only difference is that loose and open, loose and open, tight, aggressive. But the quarterback, tight ends in the middle rounds, I'm just. What I'm looking for there is. I'm just looking for value. So When I pick and a quarterback's on the board, it's just a matter of if this is a quarterback that I think should have gone around to go or two rounds go or something and he's sitting on the board, then I'll take him because I know that I'm able to get more value out of my wide receivers and running backs around him. I waited long enough to get a good value on the quarterback in this round, so I'm just looking for value there. And with me with tight end, we kind of spoke to this earlier. I just don't see much. To me, it's not like one of those tight ends in the middle rounds. I'm like, oh, this guy's a six. And he's definitely, you know, oh man, I can get him in the eighth. I just don't have those guys on my list this year.
Andy Holloway
So Russell Wilson in the fifth, are you going to pull the trigger on that?
Jason Moore
If it's a, if it's a four point and six point touchdown, you know, four points for.
Andy Holloway
Four points for throwing?
Jason Moore
Yeah. Then I would if otherwise, no.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Matt Ryan in the fifth.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I would. I like Matt Ryan this year a lot.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I think we're all pretty high on, on Ryan. So I, I might think about Ryan in the fifth. I'd prefer the sixth because there's some, there's some, some talent in the fifth.
Mike Wright
Round that I'm at other positions.
Jason Moore
Yeah, well, Matt Ryan's a great, a great guy to target because right now his ADP is actually in the sixth and that's a guy with taking the fifth. So if you can grab him in the sixth. Great.
Mike Wright
Good value. Kyle wants to know. He says he's been practicing mock drafts on fantasydraftwizard.com Good for you. Oh, well, that's what us growing men should be addicted to.
Jason Moore
It's a lot healthier than other things.
Andy Holloway
Yes, you should be addicted to working out. I'm just saying, like us.
Mike Wright
Yeah, right after we go.
Andy Holloway
So we're getting those three by three.
Jason Moore
By three, in and out.
Mike Wright
Says he's been waiting to take a quarterback simply because of the suck fest that is Stafford, Newton and the overrated middling guys.
Andy Holloway
I could not agree more.
Mike Wright
Under the bleachers together.
Andy Holloway
No, Stafford and Newton are in the, they're in the dance studio.
Mike Wright
Well, until they go and meet up with Cutler. He says he's been frequently selecting Tannehill for his 12 man full PPR league. And so he's basically the last guy taking a qb. But he feels like it's worth the wait. Which is what Mike was just saying. So do you care at all? He says thoughts on the importance of selecting a QB later. I guess you kind of just answered that. Should we be nervous at all about Tannehill and his 96 million dollar extension?
Andy Holloway
Not at all. Because the 96 million is a very deceiving number when you look how the deal is structured. Is a very team friendly.
Mike Wright
Yeah. They can let him go basically in a couple years.
Andy Holloway
He has a couple years but he's still going to have to prove his worth to the team. It's. He hasn't signed a Drew Brees deal here where they just can't get rid of him.
Mike Wright
Yep. I agree.
Jason Moore
Who would you rather have, Ryan Tannehill or Sam Bradford?
Andy Holloway
Let me look at my things.
Jason Moore
I know he's trying to make sure.
Mike Wright
He doesn't contradict his rankings anymore on the show.
Andy Holloway
Sam Bradford. Yeah, I like Sam Bradford a lot.
Jason Moore
What about you, Andy.
Mike Wright
Bradford?
Jason Moore
What if I told you that you. What if I told you that you could get Sam Bradford two rounds later than Ryan Tanner?
Andy Holloway
It's now I've switched. I'm switched to Tannehill.
Jason Moore
Yeah, just.
Andy Holloway
And I don't. I don't know if Jason listened to the show or not. When?
Mike Wright
Oh yeah. Did you listen to the show while you were gone? Yeah, we weren't gone. We were here.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
You were celebrating the anniversary with the pat change. How. I think that Sam Bradford is going to get a noticeable bump in his points. Did you have any quick comments on the pat change since you were not here?
Jason Moore
Yeah, Andy and I talked about that when the news broke off the air and that was the first thought that we had was the Eagles how often they're going to go for it. And those points, even if he gets it half the time, I mean they're just extra points that normally a kicker gets and now the QB gets. So I like that.
Mike Wright
Also, if you listen to the show, you heard a very loud debate about Joy Bell. I would like to formalize any sort of Joy Bell related bets if you guys want them.
Jason Moore
I'm not passionate enough about Joic Bell to make water bets.
Mike Wright
Well, it should be with Mike. The Abdullah Express.
Andy Holloway
The Abdullah Express versus the Joy Jalopy. And I'm trying.
Mike Wright
I got an easy bet for you.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Mike Wright
It's not in my favor.
Jason Moore
Is it?
Mike Wright
Just terrible.
Andy Holloway
Head to head. What? What was it?
Mike Wright
No, no, no. That's it.
Andy Holloway
No, no, no. I want to know what your bet was.
Mike Wright
I'm not. I'm not Going to tell you now. I want the head to head.
Jason Moore
Let's hear what you had, Andy.
Mike Wright
Well, I was going to give him like second half of the year.
Jason Moore
Oh, I like it. Second half of the year. Head to head.
Mike Wright
That's terrible for me considering we've all said the joy will be great in the beginning of the year.
Jason Moore
So what I heard from yourself, Andy, that you were the. You were the guy sticking up for these old guys.
Mike Wright
That's fine. Second half of the year. You want it second.
Andy Holloway
So second half, what is that?
Mike Wright
Last eight games of the year? Fantasy points.
Andy Holloway
Oh, yeah.
Jason Moore
Water bat.
Mike Wright
This is. That. This is my own problem here. I get. I get into these. I get into these horrible situations. What is that? A train.
Andy Holloway
On board? For the listeners who have not seen the Abdullah Express picture, stop on by our twitter @the ffballers.
Mike Wright
For our listeners who don't know who Amir Abdullah is, stop by our website.
Andy Holloway
They better know who he is.
Mike Wright
Yeah, well, I'm the defender of the proven. Whether it's Frank Gore or Joy Bell or Marshawn lynch or the shady McCoy.
Jason Moore
Jeremy Macklin. That's so funny to me that you're supporting him.
Mike Wright
You know, I. You weren't here, but I had to disclaim on the show. I'm not like all over Jeremy Macklin. I just believe he's better than the way you guys are portraying him.
Jason Moore
I looked at.
Mike Wright
Which our drunk friend agrees with on our voice.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I looked at my.
Andy Holloway
That was Alan Robinson. Oh, well, yeah, yeah, you're jumping around.
Jason Moore
So my guy. I looked at my rankings when I was with Andy between shows because I wanted to see where I had them both. I had Jeremy Macklin one spot ahead of Alan Robinson. So they were right next to each.
Andy Holloway
Other in my rankings.
Jason Moore
This is going to be close.
Mike Wright
All year I saw another person on Twitter wrote in and asked you why we call Helen Robinson the target.
Andy Holloway
Well, then that's. That's a fair question.
Mike Wright
And also, who is he?
Andy Holloway
There's some newer players who aren't. Who don't know certain terminology and they're.
Mike Wright
Not familiar with the. The elite wide receiver class that is the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Andy Holloway
You're gonna eat your words. Not.
Mike Wright
I'm not.
Jason Moore
I'm not worried yourself, Mac.
Mike Wright
I'm not worried about that. Go ahead.
Andy Holloway
The target. Oh, just for. Just for quick reference, a target monster is just referring to a player who.
Mike Wright
Gets here from the deed.
Andy Holloway
It's a player who gets a high volume of targets. And targets are opportunities for scoring fantasy points. And if you don't, some Players can have these games where they get four targets and they have a 50 yard touchdown. So you think that they're great for fantasy, but in reality they're really not getting the opportunities like Alan Robinson is going to get.
Mike Wright
I often go into my ESPN accounts and sort the free agent wide receivers by targets.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Mike Wright
Because I like the opportunity.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Pay attention.
Mike Wright
All right. If you liked any of the advice here and you want to run it through your own mock drafts, you can do that free@fantasydraftwizard.com just pick a drafting position and you get to basically, in about two minutes, figure out exactly what a team looks like from drafting from the 1 spot or the 5 spot or the 9 spot or the 7 spot.
Andy Holloway
Do you want to go through all the 12 spots?
Mike Wright
Yeah, any of the spots. But that's it for today's show. We'll be back here on Thursday morning. Any closing thoughts, gentlemen?
Andy Holloway
There was a listener who wrote in a rebuttal. There was a statement that I made.
Mike Wright
A few weeks ago. I did. It was too long to read.
Andy Holloway
Where. That's. I'll just summarize it where I made a claim that the far superior Oreo is the double stuff. Oreo. And he wrote in that he's sad for humanity and he is strongly on the side of the single.
Mike Wright
His argument was that the cookies are the core piece of the Oreo.
Jason Moore
Let me tell you, I really enjoyed his argument. It was well said, it was articulate.
Mike Wright
It made me think about my life.
Jason Moore
Yeah. And really, it made me think about the financial institution of America. All that said, he was just absolutely wrong because the stuffing is. I mean, my wife was actually reading it and she's like, well, yeah, who likes just the stuffing by itself? And I was like, you don't? No. But I.
Mike Wright
When your wife was agreeing with you.
Jason Moore
Dude, maybe I'm just fat, but I mean, I take the cookies off and I eat the stuffing and I put those garbage wafers in the garbage.
Mike Wright
No, there's a reason that Cold Stone Creamery added the insides of Oreos as a flavor by itself with no cookie at all.
Andy Holloway
I completely agree with the point. You need the cookie. Absolutely. But the single stuff is just not enough. I need double. I got a double.
Mike Wright
The stuff. And we'll leave you with that.
Andy Holloway
Thanks for listening.
Mike Wright
I know. Thank you for listening to the Fantasy Footballers. Fantasy Footballers.com Go check us out on Twitter ffballers and we will be back here like we always are on Thursday.

Release Date: May 26, 2015
Hosts: Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, Mike "The Fantasy Hitman" Wright
Mike Wright kicks off the episode by welcoming listeners and highlighting that the full trio of hosts is present. The show is structured as a mailbag episode, where the hosts address various listener-submitted questions related to dynasty leagues, keeper leagues, and trading strategies.
Notable Quote:
Mike Wright [03:29]: "Please keep your emails or your voicemails concise and to the point because we get a lot of them and when I open them up and they are five paragraphs long, I break out into hives because I can't. It's a lot of reading, Jason."
A listener review from Brian in Oklahoma is featured, praising the podcast and humorously admitting he's only sharing it post-draft to maintain a competitive edge.
Notable Quote:
Jason Moore [04:11]: "This one comes in from Brian from Oklahoma. This is what he says. He says this is the best fantasy football podcast out there... I'll do these guys a solid and share this podcast with my friends, but only after our fantasy draft."
The hosts delve into the ongoing saga of running back Adrian Peterson, who reportedly desires a trade and is dissatisfied with his team's management. Peterson's reluctance to attend voluntary workouts and his high salary with non-guaranteed terms are discussed extensively.
Notable Quote:
Jason Moore [07:12]: "Hard Knocks, Brian Hoyer edition... What you know about Peterson, he’s possibly looking at getting cut or traded financially."
There is significant discussion around the Falcons' backfield dynamics, with speculation that Tevin Coleman may receive more carries than Devonte Freeman as the season progresses. Mike Wright expresses a contrarian view, believing Freeman will garner more usage.
Notable Quote:
Mike Wright [08:03]: "I and I'm the one that definitely disagrees with both of you and believe that Devonte Freeman will get more carries than Tevin Coleman this year."
Matt Jones' performance and potential future role are debated, with Andy Holloway advocating for his reliability despite past performance. Charles Sims' value in Tampa Bay is scrutinized, especially concerning his yards after contact statistics.
Notable Quote:
Andy Holloway [09:23]: "He's not just solid. Morris is amazing... She played 11 receptions last year and everyone's talking up that he's going to take the receiving role."
The comparison between Reggie Bush and Carlos Hyde centers on Bush's undervalued status versus Hyde's fluctuating performance and injury concerns. Mike Wright favors Bush due to his consistent value over Hyde's questionable upside.
Notable Quote:
Jason Moore [12:38]: "Reggie Bush is going to have plenty of value. Probably in a better place than Hyde, at least right now."
A listener seeks advice on tight end drafting, contemplating whether to target Travis Kelsey early or wait and select later-round options like Jason Whitten or Tyler Eifert. The hosts recommend waiting unless a standout tight end is available, emphasizing depth and value acquisition.
Notable Quote:
Jason Moore [17:55]: "Zach Ertz is a potential top tier... so you'll get one."
A commissioner asks about expanding his league while maintaining competitiveness. The consensus among hosts is to retain the current roster structure without reducing bench spots, allowing for deeper player pools and maintaining strategic depth.
Notable Quote:
Andy Holloway [22:04]: "I would just leave it how it is. I would just add the other two teams."
A listener shares a mock draft scenario where Antonio Brown is picked second overall, debating its validity. The hosts defend the choice in PPR formats, highlighting Brown's consistent performance and relative reliability compared to running backs.
Notable Quote:
Jason Moore [23:08]: "If Antonio Brown replicated what he did last year, then he just... he's justified being able to be taken number one in a PPR."
David from Florida inquires about effective trade strategies. The hosts emphasize not lowballing offers, seeking fairness, and leveraging depth to upgrade key positions. They advocate for multiple small trades to accumulate long-term gains.
Notable Quote:
Andy Holloway [25:30]: "Don't lowball. Don't come in with the lowball offer of, well, I'm gonna do this because I know he's gonna counter."
Phil from a 12-team, half-point PPR league seeks advice on selecting keepers among Eddie Lacy, Julio Jones, LaShawn McCoy, and Calvin Johnson, alongside a rookie option for Todd Gurley.
Notable Quote:
Jason Moore [30:36]: "I would just rather have the studs rather than girl."
Mike Wright further advises on selecting DeAndre Hopkins over Teddy Bridgewater, stressing the importance of securing high-value wide receivers early.
Notable Quote:
Mike Wright [38:09]: "I personally, it's actually between... he's a differentiator and I see his value in the fourth."
A listener inquires about the significance of drafting quarterbacks later in a league that awards one point per completion. The hosts discuss the altered landscape where QBs like Drew Brees and Matt Ryan may hold higher completion counts, influencing draft strategies without diminishing the importance of the quarterback position.
Notable Quote:
Mike Wright [40:00]: "But listen to this. Drew Brees is number one in completions... Number two, Matt Ryan."
Throughout the episode, the hosts promote resources like FanDuel with a promo code ballers for extra free money and FantasyDraftWizard for mock drafting tools.
Notable Quote:
Mike Wright [13:03]: "But don't worry about it. All right, let's go ahead and go. Let's answer another one of the voicemail questions here."
