To the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright.
Andy Holloway
What is going on, people? It is Thursday, May 14, and we are the Fantasy Footballers. And we're back again. Hey, how's it going, guys?
Jason Moore
It's going pretty fantastical.
Andy Holloway
This is. Wow. Andy Holloway joined with Jason Moore. This is where you say, hey, Mike the fantasy hitman, right?
Mike Wright
Good, good salutations.
Andy Holloway
Good Sahi. I'm gonna just handle the intro completely from now on.
Mike Wright
Well, salutations are not acceptable unless they're good.
Andy Holloway
Question for you guys. Does the Madden curse exist? Yes.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Andy Holloway
So you say Odell Beckham jr. Is on the COVID of Madden.
Jason Moore
Oh, this is breaking news to me. I thought it was still between him and Gronk.
Andy Holloway
Remember, you're slower than the rest of us.
Mike Wright
RIP ODB.
Andy Holloway
No, he. He's 22 years old. He's the youngest player in the history of the NFL to be on the COVID of Madden. Mind you, Richard Sherman was on the COVID of Madden last year and was an all pro and solidified his defensive player. Oh, come on.
Mike Wright
Defensive player.
Andy Holloway
You have this figured out, Mike?
Mike Wright
Oh, very much so.
Andy Holloway
Will you please explain it to us?
Mike Wright
But here's the caveat which we, we still don't know yet. Will ODB be a digital picture or will he be a life picture?
Andy Holloway
Is there, Is that significant?
Mike Wright
It is. If you have a digital representation of yourself, you are not affected by the.
Jason Moore
Yeah, you're not even on the COVID.
Andy Holloway
Because it's not really. You didn't post the picture.
Mike Wright
That is correct.
Andy Holloway
I saw a mock up of the picture that they're gonna have on the COVID but I don't know if it'll be a final.
Mike Wright
That's, that's what I'm talking about.
Andy Holloway
It was the Catch. If they Catch. But I don't know if it was a digital version. So if it's very complicated.
Jason Moore
If it's a photo, we drop them a few spots in our rankings, clearly.
Mike Wright
Well, I don't know because if. Is it just a photo of the Catch where they edit it up or is he going to recreate the Catch?
Jason Moore
Well, they wouldn't have.
Andy Holloway
So we have complete and utter believers in the curse across from me here.
Mike Wright
Hear me now. If he recreates the Catch during the photo shoot, he's gonna die, right?
Andy Holloway
You heard it here first, right?
Jason Moore
Some. Some solid sports journalism.
Mike Wright
His harness will break and something terrible will happen.
Andy Holloway
He defied most of physics in that catch the first time.
Jason Moore
Use it all up.
Mike Wright
It will be very reminiscent of the movie Final Destination. Where a Goldberg like trap. Well, five things will have to happen and then a. Then some kind of a cube will fall on his head.
Andy Holloway
So you heard it here first. ODB is now off of the rankings for both Mike and Jason. He's still on mine.
Jason Moore
So pinning the.
Andy Holloway
Pinning the photo, pinning the digital versus. Okay, this is. I didn't expect that analysis, but thank you, guys.
Jason Moore
You're welcome.
Andy Holloway

If you play fantasy football and you're not listening to this podcast, get your life together. These three are gentlemen and scholars, to say the least. Two episodes a week during the off season is just amazing. The knowledge is hands down the best. Plus it has just the right amount of humor. Keep up the good work, guys. Thank you. Price is Right.
Andy Holloway
Thank you. Appreciate that. Let's talk some news and notes from around the league.
Jason Moore
News and notes from around the league.
Mike Wright
Deja vu.
Andy Holloway
Who sounded better, me or that guy?
Mike Wright
Oh, it's a tie.
Andy Holloway
Hey, I'm gonna make my prediction right now. I went on the record and said I thought Brady would get four games. He got four games. I'm going on the record now to say I think it will end up a two game suspension. What do you guys think? Do you think the suspension is going to be shortened at all or do you think he's going to be out 4?
Jason Moore
I think it should be shortened, but I don't think it will be just because the NFL likes to hold its ground and post Ray Rice. I think they want to flex muscles. So we'll see.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I think it's going to stay at 4.
Andy Holloway
You guys are both on the 4.
Jason Moore
Bandwagon, which puts us in, I think we have to admit, put us in the minority. Most people expect it to be shortened and I think again, it should be. I said that last week. I don't think that this warrants the penalty that was levied, especially against the Patriots, but we are bringing up today.
Andy Holloway
Wait, wait, wait. Why do you mean why would they get a less Patriots?
Jason Moore
No, no, no. I'm saying the picks.
Andy Holloway
Because they're the super bowl champions.
Jason Moore
No, I'm saying the fine of the pick and the money against the Patriots.
Andy Holloway
Versus You're saying that was the more painful part, obviously.
Jason Moore
Yeah, exactly. The part that was undeserved, in my opinion. But repeat offenders, because they were the super bowl champs, you know, they open the season. The season opener that the entire world is going to be watching is going to be the Tom Brady lists.
Mike Wright
LeGarrett, Bluntless.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I mean, you know what it's going to be? It's going to be the.
Andy Holloway
I'm actually playing QB that game.
Jason Moore
All they're going to be talking about that entire show is just Deflategate. It's going to be a black eye. So maybe his spit will get removed.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, but if that. If that was part of the thinking, the NFL never would have suspended him in the first place.
Jason Moore
Yeah, yeah.
Andy Holloway
And I have read that they're thinking about delaying the banner ceremony for the Patriots. Yeah, they should be unveiling the banner until Brady's back.
Jason Moore
So boycott. They should boycott the NFL in news.
Andy Holloway
That'S just dominating the landscape. Much, much higher priority than the Brady news. Justin Blackman was denied reinstatement.
Mike Wright
The Human Torch was denied a bank loan.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, we. I just felt like I've been missing some of those mediocre free agent signings. And I just had to mention that Justin Blackman's career is over because of stupidity.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Well, I hope the listener who wrote in about Blackman took our advice.
Andy Holloway
Couple.
Jason Moore
We had to just divorce them, get rid of them.
Mike Wright
Justin Blackman, man, what could have been.
Andy Holloway
It's sad. It's sad when guys throw it away like that, but what can you do?
Jason Moore
Don't do drugs. Yeah, that's for all the kids out there.
Andy Holloway
Listen, that's our public service announcement here. Let's. You guys want to talk mock draft.
Jason Moore
Whoo.
Mike Wright
Do I.
Andy Holloway
All right, let's do it.
Jason Moore
The fantasy footballers mock draft.
Andy Holloway
And this is the part where I give the public apology that was requested of me.
Mike Wright
Oh, I wasn't sure it was coming.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, on the last episode, I made the claim that we didn't have egregious. I'm sorry. The egregious claim that we did not have a drop to promote our mock draft, when in fact, it had been sent to me by our audio engineer, Mike the fantasy hitman. Right.
Mike Wright
Weeks ago.
Andy Holloway
Weeks ago. And I simply hadn't added it to our soundboard. So apologies to Mike.
Mike Wright
Apology accepted.
Andy Holloway
I do appreciate the fact you had to make a second one before you realized it. All right, let's get into the mock draft talk. Okay. We went through the first three rounds. I wanted to let Our listeners know we're gonna post this on the website immediately after we record it, so it'll be there for you tomorrow. I obviously am not going to read through every pick of our entire mock draft.
Jason Moore
That would be boring to listen to.
Andy Holloway
That would not be entertaining. However, we did go through the first, second, and third rounds. Was there anything big that stood out you want to mention before we kind of move on?
Mike Wright
No, not.
Jason Moore
Not.
Mike Wright
That wasn't covered last week. I think just the. The. The surprise of Julio Jones at seven over the other wide receivers, and then the surprising fall of Jordy Nelson due to my children ruining my life.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you're. You know, it's. Stuff like that happens, though, right? It does. You get into a draft and some guy drops somewhere, some guy gets taken way too high when the homer takes them or the big fan or something like that. Anything for you, Jason.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I would just point out that now that the draft was finished up, we can see that two of the guys in the draft, I guess we saw this kind of about halfway through the draft, were employing the 0 RB theory, or at least a partial of that, where they essentially took a bunch of wide receivers early. So you can see a little bit of playing around in this mock draft. It was taken pretty serious. I know we had friends and experts and a nice group of people that did it, but not everything there. I mean, if you look at the rosters at the end. Go to the website and look at the rosters, you can see which ones were really trying a strategy, and you can see how does that strategy work out.
Andy Holloway
Fair enough. All right. So in the fourth round, I'm going to go through the picks here, you guys. Let's just talk about a few of the guys. So in the fourth round, I went Ty Hilton, Travis Kelsey, Brandon Marshall, Melvin Gordon, Kelvin Benjamin, and Martavis Bryant to start the fourth round. Who stands out from those first six? Do you think Kelsey belongs in the fourth round? Is that the right spot for him?
Mike Wright
That's where I would take him. Absolutely.
Andy Holloway
So in comparison, Jimmy Graham went as the fourth pick of the third round in our mock draft. Kelsey goes the second pick of the fourth round. We have those guys projected on our rankings fairly close. I think Mike and I have Kelsey actually a touch ahead. Are you still there on Kelsey?
Mike Wright
Absolutely.
Andy Holloway
And then Jason had. Has Jimmy ahead? I don't. I think both could happen very easily. But Kelsey the better value here than going second in the fourth round. If you agree with that projection.
Jason Moore
I was absolutely. I've got Jimmy ahead of Kelsey. I Think he finishes the year ahead of Kelsey, but I would much rather have Kelsey in the fourth than Jimmy in the second because it's nominal difference in points in fantasy production.
Mike Wright
The interesting thing for the owner who took Kelsey was the kind of strategy that David was working. Where he started running back, went wide receiver, went quarterback, went tight end. So he took one from each of the major positions. And so it'll be interesting to see how his team ends up. When he started with Shady DEZ Breeze, Kelsey, which is a. Is a good foundation. Absolutely. But what. What did he fill in the gaps with?
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And for me in this round, what surprises me is Marty McBride. Yeah. Martavis Bryant goes. Goes way too high for.
Jason Moore
Way too high.
Andy Holloway
Way too high for me as middle of the fourth round. On a guy who, you know, this is my general philosophy. I draft good players and good teams with good opportunities and good talent. Martavius Bryant is a good player, but he's still. I mean, we can assume maybe he gets more snaps, but he was still splitting with Wheaton, and he's the number two. I mean, Jordan Matthews went after him. Andre Johnson went after him. Brandon Cooks goes after him. To me, Martavis is a huge reach here as the sixth pick of the fourth for sure.
Jason Moore
I like Martavis Bryant when you say those three things you're looking for. I think he's got all three of those things, but so do in bigger ways those guys you mentioned.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
I mean, he should never go ahead of Jordan Matthews and Andre Johnson, even Amari Cooper.
Andy Holloway
Okay, so Amari Cooper or Martavis Bryant? Jason.
Jason Moore
Oh, Amari Cooper, without a doubt.
Andy Holloway
Mike.
Mike Wright
Probably Cooper, but it could be Bryant.
Andy Holloway
Golden Tate or Martavius Bryant.
Jason Moore
Mart. Bryan Bryant.
Andy Holloway
Really? Both of you?
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Just curious. I like doing those comparisons, especially when you see it laid out right here. Matt Ryan goes next after Matavious Bryant. So you got Matt Ryan, Jordan Matthews, Frank Gore, Latavius Murray, Carlos Hyde, and Andre Johnson. A lot of running back value here at the back half of the fourth round. You got Gore, Murray Hyde, potentially three. Three starters, right?
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
In the back of the fourth. How do you get away with that?
Jason Moore
I was so pissed off because, you know, Frank Gore is my guy, and he almost came down to me in the fourth, where I would have been so happy with him, but I had to get. I'm not high on Carlos Hyde, but when I looked at who was left, that was kind of leaving a big gap there. So I took Carlos Hyde, but, man, I was two spots away from nab and Frank Gore there, and I think that the, there's a huge gap between those two. I see Frank Gore, a lot of people, guaranteed RB2. No, I realize that, but I mean, in my projections, I just think He's a guaranteed RB2. He is going to be a predominant ball carrier. He's going to catch the ball, he's going to be on a high powered offense. He's getting the workload. I mean, he's pretty much a bell cow and people are just afraid of the age, but he's got the talent, the opportunity and the high powered offense. He's got it all.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I agree. I have Gore as a two as well right now. Latavius Murray there towards the end of the fourth, I imagine that's where he's going to go. And I'm just still not feeling good about Murray. He's going to be a guy that Latavius. Yeah, Latavius Murray, where you have to pick and choose your guys as everyone knows, where you make a deal with yourself saying, I'm 100% fine if I'm wrong about this guy. And he's, he's a guy who, like, maybe I'm wrong, but I'm going to let other people take him. I don't care if I'm wrong. I'm not going to make the gamble on him.
Jason Moore
I think you're alone on that one. Now. I was, I was a little bit worried before the draft, but seeing what they did during the draft, which was nothing to get in the way of Latavius Murray and I think Amari Cooper opening up a little bit more, you know, maybe not stacking the box so much, I'm, I'm getting higher and higher on Latavius.
Mike Wright
You guys really think that a rookie receiver is going to change an entire crappy offense?
Jason Moore
No, no, no. But it just means there's going to be another option. I mean, you're literally. Last year it was James Jones, right?
Mike Wright
But James Jones actually had a really good catch percentage. I think he was around 70%.
Andy Holloway
Well, I think the problem here is, okay, if Latavius Murray, you drop him on one of the higher echelon offenses as the starter, he's a second round pick, right?
Mike Wright
So maybe, but it changes my opinion for sure.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Okay. And so my, I think the offense, offense doesn't have to go from 20th, 25th to number one. It just has to get better. And if you put Crabtree and Cooper and another year for Derek Carr and.
Jason Moore
Let'S actually say put Murray on the team because last year Murray didn't get hardly any Carries. I mean, they rode, you know, they rode MJD into the ground, into retirement.
Andy Holloway
It's a curiosity factor that I think. I just don't want the Raider part to bias everything. Right.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Same issue that I had with Yelden. I'm coming. I'm warming up on Yelden because it's just too easy as a fantasy player to go, oh, gosh, the Jags, the Raider, no chance for the Raiders.
Mike Wright
Yelden, to me, has the, the opportunity to be a three down back. I don't think Murray's going to be a three down guy. When you, when you signed Roy.
Andy Holloway
Hello.
Mike Wright
Hello. Hulu's a spectacular third down back. How do you sign that guy and not put him in?
Andy Holloway
No, that's, that's a very fair point. And that's why he's here. Right? I don't think this is the wrong place. I mean, for me, I probably bump into the top of the fourth, maybe back of the third. I would be happy and content taking him there. But, you know, I'm not talking about bumping him way up. But that's, that's a good take. I wanted to mention one thing on Gore too, in case people aren't aware. Get your ears out on this. I am not sure that Vic Ballard or Boom Herron is going to be the handcuff you want for Frank Gore. Oh, I think their 6 round pick is a guy they really like. Josh Robinson. Okay. Five, eight running back. They drafted him the sixth round. They talked him up a lot. And the thing about Vic Ballard and Boone Heron is they just seem like guys on the field. Kind of the way I felt about Monte Ball last year where Josh Robinson offers something different. And so keep an ear out, keep an eye out in the preseason for Josh Robinson because I'm not sure, you.
Jason Moore
Know what you just said to me?
Andy Holloway
What?
Jason Moore
Frank Gore is going to be great this year.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. You know what? You're right. You're right. And we.
Jason Moore
Because you just named a bunch of nothing behind him.
Mike Wright
Well, Boom Heron is actually, he's, he's not a runner to me. He's. He's a guy who needs to get the dump and get it in space and then he's, then he can produce, which is what he did last year. And when he's trying to run between the tackles, it just wasn't the greatest thing. But if so, that's why I could agree with that take. I would have to study up, I.
Jason Moore
Think in a diamond. But yeah, no, I agree with, I.
Andy Holloway
Do agree with Dynasty players to pay.
Jason Moore
Attention to dynasty players. He is a guy to grab for sure. I could not agree more with.
Andy Holloway
So. So back half of the fourth, we all picked. I took Matt Ryan in the fourth. What are your thoughts on that? Pick two early?
Mike Wright
No, it's around four. If I'm going to start pulling a. Pulling the trigger on a quarterback who I think is a fifth QB off.
Andy Holloway
The board, is it.
Mike Wright
If I'd want a guy who I believe he's going to be a top five quarterback, round four is generally the earliest I would do it. So Matt Ryan there, which I can't remember where I have him, but I have him super high because we. You've heard us talk up.
Andy Holloway
Sure.
Mike Wright
The. The Falcon offense constantly and I think Matt Ryan is going to have a massive season. So getting him in the fourth when you've already got a foundation of positional players is not the. Is not the worst thing for me.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I agree. It's been a while since we've actually talked about Kyle Shanahan coming in and what it's going to do to Julio Jones and to Matt Ryan. But Matt Ryan is a Julio. He is definitely a quarterback to target in your draft. And if he's not getting the love come draft season and he's dropping down to the. To the fifth round, you grab him and get great value here. I think that he's not necessarily a good ADP value, but I still think he's going to return on where you're getting him here. So I don't have any problem with the pick.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Yeah. So I. One interesting fact about this round, the fourth round before we move on to go through the fifth, is Mike ends up with Andre Johnson as the last pick of the fourth. Ty Hilton was the first pick of the fourth round. I'm not sure I have any problems with that disparity. I kind of thought Andre might drop a little bit more. I like his value, but I like him here.
Mike Wright
I mean, I'm bookending. So it was either him go at the end of the fourth or the beginning of the fifth.
Andy Holloway
Sure, sure. And so in the beginning of the fifth, you went Isaiah Crowell, Cleveland running back Brandon Cooks out of New Orleans went next Julian Edelman. Then Russell Wilson comes off the board in the fifth round. Fifth pick of the fifth round. Sorry, fourth pick of the fifth round. And then Todd Gurley. Todd Gurley goes here in the fifth and Amari Cooper right behind him. And so we saw Melvin Gordon. We didn't talk about him go off the board in the fourth.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Which I Think that's.
Andy Holloway
Do you think those are gonna, I think, flop at all?
Mike Wright
No, I think Gordon's gonna go higher.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Mike Wright
I think he'll start creeping into the.
Jason Moore
Third time, and I think if you get him in the fourth, you're getting a very good value. He's gonna. He's clearly gonna get the.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I was just thinking about it for a second, because in dynasties, you see Gurley going ahead of Gordon in a lot of mock dynasty drafts, rookie drafts, that is. And so I think I've been used to seeing that over and over again. I mean, it makes sense that Gordon should be the starter from day one versus Gurley. But again, that's something that Gurley's going to rock it up the boards. If he starts looking healthy and he's not, or if he just doesn't end up on pop. I mean, if he doesn't end up on pup, how high does he climb? Even still, does he go from the middle of the fifth to where I think he goes into the third?
Jason Moore
I don't know about that.
Mike Wright
If he's not on the pipe list, I can. Yeah, I can see that.
Andy Holloway
Top of the third.
Jason Moore
Maybe you're saying top of the third, as in close to this second.
Andy Holloway
Healthy.
Jason Moore
He's still playing in the NFC West. He's still on a. Not a very good team. And he. Even if he's, I mean, you say, quote, healthy, but, I mean, he's not going to be.
Andy Holloway
We talked a lot about him.
Jason Moore
He'll be later.
Andy Holloway
Stronger offense.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Top ten pick on him. I agree with that. I agree. And that's two things, right? How he'll perform versus how he'll be drafted.
Jason Moore
Right.
Andy Holloway
I think perception might move him up, but Amari Cooper goes off the board here to six pick. Six pick of the fifth round. He's ahead of Sammy Watkins. Who'd you rather have, Watkins or Cooper?
Jason Moore
Oh, Mari Cooper, hands down.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Same with you, Mike.
Mike Wright
I'm thinking about it. Maybe. Maybe I'm gonna take Watkins.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Julian Edelman or Amari Cooper. Cooper Cooks or Cooper Cooks?
Jason Moore
Obviously, I drafted him ahead.
Andy Holloway
You drafted. That is.
Mike Wright
That's a very interesting question. I think I would go with Cooks, even. Even though he's not kind of the. I don't know. Is Cooks the top option now?
Jason Moore
Yeah, Cooks is the clear.
Andy Holloway
No, no, no, no, no, no. He's not. He's not the clearest. You're saying, Colston, you have other options there? I'm just saying.
Jason Moore
Okay, so who's the number one?
Andy Holloway
I think it's still Colston. In my mind, I wouldn't draft Colson ahead of him, but I mean like depth chart, not in the slot. Outside receiver.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I think all year Cooks is going to be the number one there for Drew Brees and I love that. I still. I was actually a little surprised, I will admit, when I. When I put together my numbers and actually went through and started out every, you know, all the quarterback numbers, all the wide receiver numbers and how many receptions, how many yards per reception, how many fumbles and did the whole kit and caboodle. I was a little surprised that Cooks was a lower. He was lower to me than I thought he would be. But he's still going to produce very well on that offense.
Andy Holloway
Nothing wrong with Cooks. I was curious.
Mike Wright
Did you stat butt fumbles?
Jason Moore
No, I did not stat butt fumbles.
Mike Wright
Those are a lot of points.
Andy Holloway
You know, they didn't draft a wide receiver, so Cooks. Cooks is going to be great. Jimmy Graham's gone, Kenny Sills is gone. Cooks will be great. Pretty good value.
Mike Wright
Josh Hill is there.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Pretty good value for you in the fifth round considering you could be a number one producer under that Drew Brees guy who's all right.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he's a decent quarterback.
Mike Wright
I like this run coming up here.
Andy Holloway
What? The quarterback run.
Mike Wright
Two of my favorite guys.
Andy Holloway
Oh, my goodness. Back to back coming up. Okay, but back half of the fifth round, we've got Sammy Watkins, Cam Newton, Matt Stafford, Golden Tate, TJ Yeldin, great pick. And Big Ben.
Jason Moore
You're talking about Cam and snapback, right? Oh, Matthew Stafford. Two guys you do not like at all.
Andy Holloway
Were you just. Was it really hard for you to pass on them at the first pick of the fifth round?
Mike Wright
It was. I wasn't. I saw them, they were still available and I thought they're is a steaming pile of crap that I do not want on my fantasy team.
Andy Holloway
All you probably wanted to do is draft at that third to last pick of the fifth round where you were getting both those guys off the board ahead of you.
Jason Moore
Well, we've got a water bet so on Cam, so we'll see. Because the fantasy footballers as a whole does not agree on the Cam take. But I appreciate your strong take and I'm actually looking forward to seeing. I'm going to watch every Carolina game now with so much more intensity watching Cam and his weird, terrible mechanics.
Mike Wright
Enjoy those run for 700 those three awesome weeks.
Andy Holloway
Well, I believe Newton and Stafford get together to work on mechanics.
Jason Moore
Yeah, they're both.
Andy Holloway
It's like Matt is saying now. Check, check this sidearm throw. And then Cam's like, have you ever done that off your back foot?
Jason Moore
Yeah. Have you ever snapped the ball sideways? Just stand sideways.
Mike Wright
When you stand, what they actually do is they don't go on the field. They go into like a dance studio where there's just mirrors everywhere so they can watch each other and they go shirtless and then they just. They throw and.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Do power poses.
Andy Holloway
Then they head out under the bleachers to.
Jason Moore
Oh, Jay Cutler might get a little jealous here.
Andy Holloway
They're going under the bleachers now. Jay Cutler and Stafford and Newton are hanging out together, all three of these guys. And you can see Andrew Luck walking up and then like, no, no, no, you can't hang out with us.
Mike Wright
He walks up with. Sounding like Buffalo Bill's a.
Jason Moore
Hey, guys, can I hang out with you?
Andy Holloway
No. You accurate passer. You go back to your kind. Yeah, well, you know.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Let's rip our shirts off.
Jason Moore
TJ Eldon.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. TJ Yelding goes at the end of the round.
Jason Moore
Fifth round value for a guy that I think could be the number.
Andy Holloway
It's good. Number one. It's great. Nobody behind him might take over him. All right, so six round Joseph Randall, Andre Ellington, Greg Olson, desean Jackson, Antonio Gates and Rashad Jennings. I don't think people know what to do with Rashad Jennings. Nobody knows what to do.
Mike Wright
He was the name I wanted to talk about of.
Andy Holloway
So let's talk about him.
Mike Wright
Is that too late for Rashad Jennings who, while he wasn't a spectacular runner.
Andy Holloway
So to speak, he was on the field all the time when he was.
Mike Wright
Healthy because he has good hands. And that's where he was making his money was the receptions. But.
Andy Holloway
So everybody wants to react and say Vereen's going to replace. But I don't think he's going to replace it.
Jason Moore
Well, what is. What does this speak about? Miller does. Are they. Are they. Miller, Andre.
Mike Wright
What?
Andy Holloway
What are you talking about?
Mike Wright
Williams.
Andy Holloway
Rashad Jennings. Andre Williams.
Mike Wright
Oh, man.
Andy Holloway
So point guard for the Philadelphia seventies, The Philly point guard or whoever.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Are they down on him or do you think that this is going to be a three way timeshare?
Andy Holloway
I think they don't like Williams that much.
Mike Wright
I feel like Williams was given a tremendous.
Andy Holloway
He'll be given a tremendous one again this year because Rashad Jennings is going to get hurt again.
Mike Wright
You're on board now.
Andy Holloway
Of course he's going to get hurt. Were you talking about the beginning of last year when I was trying to jump on his.
Mike Wright
Oh, yeah. I Don't know. I thought I was talking about how.
Andy Holloway
Getting repeatedly hurt talked me into him getting repeatedly hurt. Yeah, I learn. I'm like a really smart monkey. I learn more time.
Jason Moore
Well, does this help keep him healthy?
Andy Holloway
No, not, not playing football. Yeah. I mean Rashad Jennings is productive in that offense and that offense should be good. Yes, should be great to me. I see it breaking down as Farine's got that third down in gadget role. You Jennings probably takes first and second down most often and Williams might grab it around the goal line. That's probably how so three headed monster. And that's why I say nobody knows what to do with him because if he is a first and second down back on a good offense, does he belong in the sixth round?
Mike Wright
No, no, no.
Andy Holloway
But I'd be afraid to draft him.
Jason Moore
So yeah, he won't be on any of my teams.
Andy Holloway
You got to see how that plays out. I mean they were even talking about drafting another running back in New York, so scary situation there, but value to be had if you can. If you can see the future.
Mike Wright
It could be a really big steal.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
C.J. spiller right behind him I like way more.
Andy Holloway
That seems. Okay, so explain it to me. Well, I don't understand that.
Jason Moore
Here's why. And this is, this is strictly half point or full point PPR because he's going to be a huge pass catching back. I think that C.J. spiller's got the talent. He's always been an open field runner where he can break huge plays. You look at the Saints getting Max Unger going run heavy, bringing him in when they didn't need him.
Andy Holloway
Right.
Jason Moore
They had running backs and they had hard cap room and they still went and signed him. Sean Payton has been a fantastic, a Hall of Fame type gadget coach. He took, you know, Darren Sprouls and made him into a fantasy superstar. And I think CJ Spiller has more talent than Darren Sprouls. So now you get an improved offensive line, a dedication to the run and I just really like the upside potential there. I like the fact that I know what his role is. His role is the clear pass catching back for that team. And I also love the fact that Mark Ingram ahead of him is notoriously injured and so he could very well.
Andy Holloway
For the record, I mean Spiller's as injury prone if not more than any of these guys.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I mean, sure, you can say that. Like, you know, so Jennings and him.
Andy Holloway
Both have a risk.
Mike Wright
Well, you remember when there was the. We all saw Fred Jackson go down and Every CJ Spiller went. I cannot believe this RB one and then two plays later is when CJ Spiller died.
Andy Holloway
You mean Fred Jackson too? Yeah, yeah, I remember that. I was watching it going, oh my gosh. CJ Spiller, owner has a home run. Oh, broken.
Jason Moore
Yeah. And there was nothing worse than the year with the chronic ankle with CJ Spiller.
Mike Wright
So I agree that I like CJ Spiller's role, but I don't know how many passes is he actually going to get if the Saints are truly going to that to a running offense. Darren Sprouls was fantastic because the Saints threw it 80% of the time if that. If it switches down to the. They're throwing it 55%, 57% of the time that those checkdowns are not going to be in the 80 catch area that Darren Sprolz was getting.
Andy Holloway
So. So Jason has Jennings over Spiller. Mike, who would you take, Spiller or Jennings? Let's throw another guy in there for both of you because the next make it hard. Guys off the board, Keenan Allen, Jarvis Landry, Tevin Coleman, Vincent Jackson and Ryan Matthews. So let's put these six round running backs on the board here. C.J. spiller, Rashad Jennings, Tevin Coleman, Ryan Matthews.
Mike Wright
I think at man I took Ryan Matthews and I would actually, I might lean just overall Ryan Matthews with all those guys on the board because I, I believe Ryan Matthews is still going to get enough work to be a flex option. And then if DeMarco Murray goes down, you have a top five running back.
Jason Moore
Yeah, if Murray goes down, he's the potential on Ryan Matthews. The, the ceiling is clearly the highest here I think of all of them, but I would still put him third on my list of this group. I would rank them. C.J. spiller, Tevin Coleman, Ryan Matthews and then Rashad Jennings.
Andy Holloway
And I take them in the order they're drafted. Rashad Jennings, C.J. spiller, Tevin Coleman, Ryan Matthews. I'm not going to bank on a DeMarco injury. Well, I think there's so much unknown.
Mike Wright
I don't think you need to.
Andy Holloway
Here's the thing, there's a lot of unknown in all four of their roles, but Rashad Jennings has the sixth round. Rashad Jennings has performed at least on that team before, so that's why I take him first. But anybody else you want to talk about in the sixth round? So a lot of people high on Tevin Coleman?
Mike Wright
I'm pretty high on him.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
I'm not that. I'm. Wait and see. I'm a wait and see on him.
Mike Wright
I just, I don't, I don't think Freeman is anything at all special. And I think Coleman has juice.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
So talent rises to the top.
Jason Moore
The one, the only other things that stick out to me here is I think that, and this is ironic because of my next pick, but my next pick was kind of more a, a goof pick because he's my boy and I wanted to make sure he was, he was on there. But the reason he's my boy is because you don't need to take him there. But drafting a tight end in these middle rounds, it's just, you know, you take Antonio Gates, we're naming all of these great guys who have potential to do well if things go right. And you know, we didn't even mention some of the wide receivers, Keenan Allen and Benson Jackson and Jarvis Landry here. I mean, they're just great values, difference makers for your team. And when you're wasting an entire round on, you know, an Antonio Gates or my next pick, Kobe Fleener or, you know, any of those mid range tight ends, it's just there's not enough difference to them, to me to spend those picks where there are such good other value positions on the board. Just wait on the tight end or get Kelsey or Graham or Gronk. You know, that's, that's my strategy. Kelsey Grant, Graham or Gronk or Kobe, somebody at the very draft or somebody.
Mike Wright
And generally I agree with that. But I also feel strongly that if you, once you're getting into round seven, I mean, you're talking, you're starting to take crapshoots on guys who may or may not pan. But if you have a guy who you really like and you know what his ADP is, don't gamble too much on the ADP and miss out on the guy that you really wanted to have on your team.
Jason Moore
Yeah. We've got a mailbag question today that I think will speak to that as well.
Mike Wright
Oh, nice.
Andy Holloway
All right, let's look at the seventh round real quick. Michael Floyd, Kobe Fleener, Darren McFadden, Charles Johnson, Julius Thomas, Jeremy Macklin, Legarette Blunt, Duke Johnson, Kevin White, Bishop Sankey, Larry Fitzgerald and Gio Bernard. Tons of ooh, if that guy did this, he'd be great in this round.
Jason Moore
I feel like there's one clear cut, real good value here. So who do you guys think is the.
Mike Wright
Say it on the count of three. One, two, three. Kevin White.
Jason Moore
Yep, there you go.
Andy Holloway
We're in a Bishop Sankey. Oh, wait, no, I just Think, you.
Jason Moore
Know, you look at his potential and you look at where Amari Cooper got drafted and I like where he got drafted. And then you see Kevin White going later, you know, who's the better value there might end up being Kevin White. And I think when you compare these guys, I mean, Jeremy Macklin is dead to me. You know, that's a guy that went right around him. And so I, Michael Floyd, I would much rather have Kevin White than Jeremy Macklin or Michael Floyd.
Mike Wright
I took Floyd over White because I'm still a Michael Floyd believer. And Floyd, despite his quote unquote disappointing season last year, the one before that, he did do it. He showed the potential that he can be a superstar receiver in this league where Kevin White's still a rookie. So I'm going to gamble on the guy who's actually shown the potential.
Andy Holloway
Well, see, with the rookies other than Mike Evans, Kelvin Benjamin, Sammy Watkins, Jordan Matthews, Odell Beckham Jr. Brandon Cooks and Alan Robinson. When's the last time you've seen a rookie wide receiver do well?
Jason Moore
Put a points. Yeah, a new league.
Mike Wright
Oh, I know all.
Andy Holloway
It's crazy, right? I mean, Kevin, why before anything like.
Mike Wright
Because before last year's anomaly season, who was it? It was Julio Jones and A.J.
Jason Moore
Green and Anquan Bolden. I mean, you got to go back years. But I see what you're saying.
Andy Holloway
That's why I've been coming up more.
Jason Moore
I really like the opportunity before this.
Mike Wright
Last year it was Julio and A.J.
Jason Moore
Green. Yeah. When we had Adam Azer on the show. So last last week, you know, and we asked him the question of whether or not he thinks that was an aberration or is this the new NFL, you know, and his, his answer was just, you know, I agree with it. It's very telling. Just this is, this is the way it's going to be now. You know, first of all, college offenses are more involved. The younger players now are bigger and more physically capable than in years past. Thank you. Steroids and you know, thank you. Power smoothies at colleges.
Mike Wright
Okay, there we go.
Jason Moore
If you compare, you know, the ones. Yeah. From 20 years ago coming into the NFL versus now, now they look like full grown beast men, you know, and they used to have to come in and put weight on and learn a playbook that was way bigger than, you know, the, than a college playbook. And now college playbooks and college players, they're ready, they're physically ready. And Kevin White is a prime example. I mean, he has an NFL body like a year ago.
Mike Wright
Tell me More about his body.
Jason Moore
Well, if you start at the head.
Andy Holloway
Tell me. Tell me which guys you take over. Jeremy Macklin from those lists. Yes or no? Ready? Kevin White.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Andy Holloway
Larry Fitzgerald.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Andy Holloway
Devonte Parker.
Mike Wright
Yeah. You don't even have to ask.
Andy Holloway
No. I'm going to add Tori Smith in San Francisco.
Jason Moore
No.
Andy Holloway
Maybe Steve Smith.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Those are all guys that went after him in our mock. Alan Robinson.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Yeah.
Mike Wright
Come on.
Andy Holloway
Oh, yeah. Over Jeremy Macklin.
Mike Wright
Alan Robinson, the.
Andy Holloway
The target Monster. Are you. You want to make a bet over Allen Robinson versus Jeremy Macklin?
Mike Wright
Absolutely.
Andy Holloway
It's done. Dude.
Jason Moore
Water bath. You are making so many.
Andy Holloway
Jeremy Macklin.
Jason Moore
Dig that. Grape Andy is a Jeremy Macklin bullet.
Andy Holloway
I'm gonna bet if I'm gonna bet on Jeremy Macklin putting up, by the way, just a good season, nothing special. I might as well get you both wet over it.
Jason Moore
Oh, man, that's gonna be some of the most fun.
Andy Holloway
You just battle. You just bet Allen Robinson. I just want you to know this. You just bet Allen Robinson, rookie wide receiver from the Jaguars last year.
Mike Wright
Yep.
Andy Holloway
Injured, coming off an injury, versus Jeremy Macklin, the number one receiver who just got paid $11 million a year. I just want you to care how.
Mike Wright
Much money anybody makes.
Andy Holloway
That's fine. And you don't care when you lose.
Jason Moore
Name recognition is one thing. So listeners, if you're listening and Mike and I are just crazy, you're thinking like Jeremy Macklin's clearly better known.
Andy Holloway
You're right. Thank you. Please call the show 302-464-TFFB and affirm me in the. Oh, wait. That's for questions.
Mike Wright
Yeah, questions only.
Jason Moore
It's not. It's not as pretty and clear cut as the names suggest one player is.
Andy Holloway
It will be when the season's over.
Jason Moore
That's the beautiful thing about fantasy football. We'll find this out. Someone will get wet. Mike and I will be super happy. And because it's. Because it's not the name that's exciting expected.
Andy Holloway
I'm going to win before we get a little bit of.
Jason Moore
A little bit more cred, dude.
Mike Wright
Right now I'm just picturing Alan Robinson Target Monster with.
Jason Moore
It's going to be like the ALS challenge over here on Andy at the.
Mike Wright
End of the year with Alex Smith, Captain, check down with Alan Robinson. Oh, my goodness. He'd have 400 receptions.
Andy Holloway
You know what? You. You win it in your little argument now, and I'll win it on the field. Hold on.
Mike Wright
That was the target Monster, Alan Robinson.
Andy Holloway
Did he just busted his knee again?
Mike Wright
No, he just ate 5,000 touchdowns.
Andy Holloway
Oh, good. This just in. Breaking news. Blake Bortles is Mike's number one quarterback.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you got to put the math together on that. All right, we're out of time in terms of talking about the mock draft. We're going to post the entire thing. Go on there. Take a look again. This is just a bunch of us getting together doing kind of our 1.0, middle of May, beginning of May mock draft. But it'll be good to see all the names distributed across there, which guys have dropped, which guys seem like great values where you can start to see guys targeted, some average draft position, blah, blah, blah. We'll post it on the site. Let's get into the mailbag and answer some listener questions.
Jason Moore
Mailbag, Mailbag.
Andy Holloway
It. You know, it was good. It wasn't your best because I'm looking.
Mike Wright
At my rankings, really hoping that I have Alan Robinson ranked higher than Jeremy Maddow.
Jason Moore
You'll have to let us know when you get to. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Can you read?
Mike Wright
Yeah, let me just search them real quick here.
Andy Holloway
Find and replace.
Jason Moore
Did the emotions get.
Mike Wright
That's what I'm trying to figure out. Okay, so we got him. Hold on, hold on. Oh, yeah, we're good to go. We're good at the numbers 30 and 47.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, 47. That's. Oh, my good. The amount of Macklin bets I could make against you. Let's just, you know, we'll leave it where those are also.
Mike Wright
Just those numbers will change. But I'm just saying that that speaks to me that I feel very confident in Allen Robinson over Macklin.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you do. And you know what? If you're right, I'll give you credit. All right. Tim writes in via email. In a 10 team. Keep that in mind. 10 team, PPR league, he gets to keep one player. Le'Veon Bell was his guy. But with the suspension, is it crazy to keep Arian Foster for a third, Jamal Charles for a first or Emmanuel Sanders for an eighth? By the way, Le'Veon Bell was for a fourth.
Jason Moore
I don't think it's crazy to keep Arian Foster for a third. It's great value, but Levy and Bell for a fourth is also really great value.
Mike Wright
And also, remember, it's. It's three games right now. Maybe it goes down, but you get to keep him for a fourth forever.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
And unless otherwise stated, I mean, you still have the year after this for a fourth round pick and. Well, I'm sort of coming around on Foster. I moved him up a little bit because he's great. But Foster is not long for the NFL. He's already talked about retiring. Le'Veon Bell is just getting started.
Jason Moore
Well, and you know, you pretty much know Foster is going to miss three games too, right? I mean you just don't know when it's nice with Levy and Bell that you can funny.
Mike Wright
You know when it's going to be.
Jason Moore
You know when it's going to be. And Also in a 10 team league, it's I think a little bit easier to find that, that extra running back to plug in and during the home stretch later in the year when you're going to really need your absolute top of the line guys. Le'Veon Bell is going to be a real difference maker.
Andy Holloway
I understand you being worried, but Lev Bell for a fourth is still the right pick here. I love Arian Foster, he's number one or two on my board right now. But I don't, I can't pass on. It's not Bell for a fourth value.
Mike Wright
And not for just this year.
Andy Holloway
Well, even if it is because we don't know if it is or not. But yeah, you're right, you're right. That was a good point on that. All right, this email comes in from Pablo. He says dear Isaac, Taylor and Zach. Do you know these Mike?
Mike Wright
I do.
Andy Holloway
You do know them.
Mike Wright
I know it.
Andy Holloway
Tell the audience.
Jason Moore
That's the Bebop boys.
Mike Wright
Come on, Bebop.
Andy Holloway
The Hanson brothers.
Mike Wright
Do I need to sing their, their second single?
Jason Moore
Yes, please.
Mike Wright
Where's the love?
Jason Moore
Okay. I don't know.
Andy Holloway
All right. My 16 team stand by the way. That's pretty awesome.
Mike Wright
Get on my hand.
Andy Holloway
I mean I give some credit back.
Jason Moore
To I only drink Hanson.
Andy Holloway
Dude, I was playing with Legos when Hanson was playing on the radio. All right.
Mike Wright
Dancing.
Andy Holloway
My 16. Yeah, my 16 team standard league switched to 6 points per TD.
Mike Wright
16.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I know that. And that that pays a big mind to this question. Six points per TD for qb. And now flex is only wide receiver, tight end. So you can only start. So you can only start two RBs. What's the best strategy here? How does it change things when that flex goes from running back and wide receiver and tight end to now just wide receiver, tight end and it's a.
Jason Moore
16 team and the quarterback goes to.
Mike Wright
Yeah, six quarterback does not change.
Andy Holloway
No, I know that much at all. I feel like I was reading a multiple choice question. They threw in the six points per td.
Mike Wright
People are concerned about it when they, when they haven't played and it actually the quarterbacks pretty much Stay the same.
Jason Moore
Nothing changes other than you downgrade a very little bit. You downgrade your Cam Newton and your, you downgrade the running.
Mike Wright
They don't get the bonus.
Jason Moore
Yeah, the running touchdown quarterbacks, just a couple points within the quarterback rankings, but you don't change at all quarterback strategy in the slightest.
Mike Wright
And if we're. So we can only start two running backs, but 16 teams, that's still 32 running backs that have to be started every single week. In a 16 team, you got to get those running.
Jason Moore
And I'm going to disagree with as am I.
Andy Holloway
48 wide receivers are starting here.
Jason Moore
And you have to start essentially 48 wide receivers.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. So position scarcity now flips the script a little bit. No, running backs are still important, but the priority changes to me.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Because if you think about a 48.
Andy Holloway
Versus 32, maybe evens out the board.
Jason Moore
No standard 12 team league that starts, you know, with the flex and a lot of times there's the three running backs per team. I would say that's very common. So in a 12 team league with the, with the three running backs, you actually have more starting running backs than you possible. You can have 36 here, you can't have 36 starting running backs. You can only have 32. So you actually need less running backs in this league when you do in a 12. And so whereas on the wide receiver position, 48 starting wide receivers, that's. That's awesome. And I think that you really want to make sure that you get. Here's what I would really go after one of those top guys, you have to get one of those wide receiver slots just filled in with a, with an absolute week in, week out stud. You get, you know, you get your Antonio Brown or your Julio Des.
Andy Holloway
It doesn't sound like we're gonna give him a very good consensus here.
Mike Wright
Well, so here's, here's my point. Okay, so the 32nd ranked running back last year was Terrence West. He scored just under 102 points. So 101.7 to get 100. Let's see. So then, then you go to a guy who's comparable as a wide receiver, 41st, Andre Johnson with 105.6 points there. That's where the, the gap starts spreading dramatically between running back points and wide receiver points when you start getting that low. So to me, you still have to have the running backs because the wide receiver points are still there.
Andy Holloway
I think it, I think like I said in the beginning, I think it evens the spread because we talk position scarcity. And we talk those statistics and so.
Mike Wright
To me, if it's even then I'm still going with running backs.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Hopefully we gave you some perspective there because really we broke the numbers down for you and let you know those disparities.
Jason Moore
So don't change on the quarterbacks. That's one consensus.
Andy Holloway
All right, this question, our last one comes in from Jahoram. I think I pronounced that right. I really have no idea though. In my league we're able to trade our draft picks which is like a couple of the leagues we play in. What are your thoughts on trading picks in general? And if you are for trading picks which would you prefer? The 1 and the 4 or the 2 and the 3? And I think I know your guys answer, but go ahead.
Jason Moore
Trading picks is fantastic. If you're in a league that is a keeper league and it's it. I will admit it is a lot more work but most keeper leagues have a very dedicated guy or two or you know, hopefully 12 that will put in that work. But trading picks is awesome. I do think you need some restrictions and some rules to make sure that the economy of the league doesn't get so blown up where every year there's just tankers and mammoth, you know, behemoth type teams. But I really, really, really like, I'll just tackle that part of the question. I love trading picks. Do it and do it to win.
Mike Wright
I agree that I think trading picks is preferable to me and for, for our league. What it, what it has shown me. Wow. Some things can get out of skewed towards the end of the year where you have people who are really buying for next year. And so some super teams are created big time players get traded all the time in our league every single year. Adrian Peterson's, Marshawn Lynch Rodgers, I mean top flight people who would not normally get traded get traded because you can bump up the value of throwing a pick or a pick swap in there. Where in my other leagues these, these upper echelon guys just don't get traded and the trading really makes the league a lot more fun. Now for me it depends where I'm picking. If, if I want the 1 and the 4. But I might go with this year. I might go with the the two and the three get. So trade the one and the four for a two and a three. So two twos and two threes. Am I reading that correctly?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, he just wants to know whether it's better to trade a 1 and a 4 for a 2 and a 3 or trade a 2 and a 3 for a 1 and a 4. I mean, obviously the situation, and that's what it comes down to, or which pick position you have. Maybe.
Jason Moore
Yeah. If you're in the second half of.
Andy Holloway
The first we talked about, if you want Jeremy Hill and you think you can get him at the end of the first round, beginning of the second round, go grab the two, three, you know, because then in that situation, he has two twos. Two threes, yeah.
Mike Wright
Then you're going to get Hill and.
Andy Holloway
So you stock up earlier.
Jason Moore
I do agree that this year versus other years, this looks a little bit better because I think that the very tip top of talent is a little bit smaller this year. And the second wave, it's a little bit larger.
Andy Holloway
All right, remember, there are three ways that you can send us your questions. Probably more. Telegram, I don't know, but postal.
Jason Moore
U.S. postal Service.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, we're not giving our address out. All right. Mail at the fantasy footballers.com is an easy way via email. If you want to call us, you can do so. 302-464-TFFB. You can also send us your questions on Twitter. You can follow us heffballers. You can follow JasonFFL or Mike ffhitman. You can also follow me if you are. So obliged. Andy Holloway. Guys, good mock draft. Nice to see a lay of the land. If you, if you're looking for a place to mock draft really quickly, you can check out fantasydraftwizard.com we've been using that place for years. It's free. You just go on there. You can pick a draft start position, you can mock draft speed, minutes, literally two minutes. All you do is you're picking your guys, the computer's picking other guys based on different lists. It's pretty fun. So fantasydraftwizard.com is pretty useful as a tool for that. Anything else, guys, you want to talk about?
Jason Moore
I just love our listeners. I think we have the best group of listeners out there.
Andy Holloway
I agree with that. I tend to agree with that.
Mike Wright
I concur, yeah.
Andy Holloway
So really appreciate you guys listening. Yeah, it's been a fun offseason. We got a lot long way to go. But you know what, you know, the NFL season is soon when you start to have major injuries taking place. Poor Dante Fowler, man, poor jaguars.
Jason Moore
Imagine riding $60 million signing bonus.
Andy Holloway
Brutal.
Jason Moore
Here you go. Go rehab.
Andy Holloway
See ya.
Jason Moore

Fantasy Footballers - Fantasy Football Podcast
Episode: Fantasy Football Podcast 2015 - Mock Part 2, News, Notes, and Mailbag
Release Date: May 14, 2015
Hosts: Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, Mike "The Fantasy Hitman" Wright
The episode kicks off with a light-hearted debate about the existence of the Madden Curse, specifically discussing Odell Beckham Jr.'s inclusion on the cover of Madden NFL. Andy Holloway (00:44) initiates the conversation by asserting, "Does the Madden curse exist? Yes," prompting Mike Wright and Jason Moore to engage in humorous speculation about the implications for Beckham’s career. The trio delves into whether Beckham’s portrayal on the cover as a "digital" or "life" version could impact his performance, ultimately agreeing on the playful superstition but maintaining a skeptical stance on its actual influence.
Andy Holloway [00:44]: "Does the Madden curse exist? Yes. So you say Odell Beckham jr. Is on the COVID of Madden."

Andy Holloway [03:01]: "We have the second half of our mock review, mock draft review... we also gonna talk a little bit more news and notes... and we're gonna hit the mailbag."
The hosts briefly recap the first three rounds of their mock draft (09:08), highlighting notable picks such as Julio Jones at the seventh pick and Jordy Nelson’s unexpected fall. They discuss strategies like the "zero RB" theory employed by some drafters, noting how different approaches can affect team composition and performance.
Jason Moore [10:06]: "I think just the surprise of Julio Jones at seven over the other wide receivers, and then the surprising fall of Jordy Nelson."
Andy Holloway (11:39) leads the discussion on the fourth-round picks, which included Ty Hilton, Travis Kelce, Brandon Marshall, Melvin Gordon, Kelvin Benjamin, and Martavis Bryant. The conversation focuses on whether Travis Kelce deserves to be taken in the fourth round versus Jimmy Graham, with Mike Wright affirming his position.
Mike Wright [11:57]: "That's where I would take him. Absolutely."
They also debate Martavis Bryant’s value, with Andy expressing concern that Bryant was a "huge reach" in the fourth round compared to other receivers like Amari Cooper.
Andy Holloway [13:27]: "Martavis Bryant is a huge reach here as the sixth pick of the fourth for sure."
Moving into the fifth round, the hosts discuss various running backs and wide receivers, including Isaiah Crowell, Brandon Cooks, Julian Edelman, Russell Wilson, Todd Gurley, and Amari Cooper. Mike Wright voices his confidence in Melvin Gordon's value, predicting he will "start creeping into the" higher tiers.
Jason Moore [15:08]: "Frank Gore is going to be great this year."
They also touch on the drafting of quarterbacks like Matt Ryan and the implications of their offensive schemes on fantasy performance.
Jason Moore [19:34]: "Matt Ryan is a Julio. He is definitely a quarterback to target in your draft."
The discussion shifts to the sixth round, focusing on running backs like C.J. Spiller, Rashad Jennings, Tevin Coleman, and Ryan Matthews. Mike Wright opts for Ryan Matthews, valuing his consistent workload, while Jason Moore ranks them based on potential and opportunity.
Mike Wright [31:34]: "I think Ryan Matthews is still going to get enough work to be a flex option."
Andy expresses reservations about Rashad Jennings due to injury concerns but acknowledges the potential upside.
Andy Holloway [32:21]: "Nobody knows what to do with him because if he is a first and second down back on a good offense, does he belong in the sixth round?"
In the seventh round, the hosts evaluate wide receivers like Kevin White, Michael Floyd, and Alan Robinson. There’s a spirited debate over Kevin White versus Jeremy Macklin, with Mike Wright favoring White due to his demonstrated potential.
Mike Wright [35:31]: "I would have to study up, I... think he's a top receiver."
The conversation underscores the importance of assessing both talent and opportunity when selecting late-round picks.
A significant portion of the episode addresses the ongoing discourse around Tom Brady's suspension due to the "Deflategate" scandal. Andy Holloway (06:22) humorously suggests a reduction in Brady’s suspension and speculates on the NFL's motivations for maintaining strict penalties to uphold its image.
Andy Holloway [06:22]: "If he recreates the Catch during the photo shoot, he's gonna die, right?"
Jason Moore and Mike Wright debate the likelihood of the suspension being reduced, with Jason leaning towards the NFL enforcing the four-game suspension to "flex muscles."
Jason Moore [06:39]: "I think they want to flex muscles. So we'll see."
The hosts address listener questions, including strategies for keeping players under suspension and managing draft picks in specialized league formats. Tim’s question (42:01) about retaining players like Arian Foster or Emmanuel Sanders in a 10-team PPR league sparks a discussion on the value and risk associated with such decisions.
Jason Moore [42:11]: "I don't think it's crazy to keep Arian Foster for a third. It's great value."
Another listener, Pablo, inquires about trading draft picks, prompting a lively exchange on the pros and cons of trading early versus middle-round picks. The hosts advocate for trading picks to strengthen teams, provided league rules prevent extreme disparities.
Jason Moore [48:31]: "I love trading picks. Do it and do it to win."
