Andy Holloway
Welcome to the show. It is Thursday, June 25, and we are the Fantasy Footballers. Back again. Guess who's back, Back again. Mike the fantasy Hitman Wright.
Mike Wright
Hey, everybody, how you doing?
Andy Holloway
Jason Moore.
Jason Moore
We're closer, people. Getting closer to that footballs.
Andy Holloway
And I am Andy Holloway, welcome to the show. I am. I'm a little bit caught off guard by just finding out that information about Jason Moore.
Mike Wright
Yes, yes. There was quite the conversation before. We pushed record.
Andy Holloway
Apparently you don't burp.
Jason Moore
Well, I can't burp. I've.
Andy Holloway
Is this scientifically been established? Yeah.
Jason Moore
There's been like three times on accident in my entire life that you've burp. I'll be driving down the road or something and then I'll burp and I'm like, I freak out. Excited.
Mike Wright
It's like a dog who farts and scares himself.
Jason Moore
No, it's, it's. I mean, similar, but it's like I just, you know, got the golden ticket in Willy Wonka. I literally turned my wife and did you see her? Did you see that?
Andy Holloway
That is. You're weird, man.
Jason Moore
Apparently when you eat enough double stuffed Oreos.
Andy Holloway
Oh, my God.
Jason Moore
So we get out and not.
Andy Holloway
So if you chug that sparkling water you have next to you, you will not burp.
Jason Moore
Let's find out.
Mike Wright
It's a delicious.
Andy Holloway
That's not good for radio. Okay, he's actually drinking. Welcome to the show. We got a good show for you today. We're talking NFC north divisional breakdown. We've been going through the divisions, telling you all about the guys that are new to the team. Fantasy implications for each team. So we're going to go through the NFC north today. We've got a good mailbag section for you as well. Go through some news and notes. Quick question for the day. I like this one. Did you know that I am no longer the only person who has Arian Foster at number one numero uno?
Jason Moore
I did know that.
Andy Holloway
I'm not alone anymore.
Mike Wright
That doesn't shock me at all.
Andy Holloway
Well, good, because other people are coming around to my way of thinking on the running position. It's all about read off league. Yeah.
Mike Wright
And if you want to gamble on his health, which maybe statistically isn't the best thing to do, but if he's healthy, why not?
Andy Holloway
Let me argue with you that it is the best thing to do.
Jason Moore
Where was that? Was that number fire?
Andy Holloway
Yes. I was about to give credit here to Joseph Juan. Joseph Juan wrote an article Today he said that Arian Foster is being overlooked, which I completely agree with. Let me, let me read this to you. Foster has still finished as the fifth. Okay. This is injuries considered, right? So the last five seasons, here's his finishing spots. Fifth, 42nd, third, third and first. That's what he's finished. That's not an order. Right, but that's what he's finished the last five years. So if you are playing the odds on injury with Arian Foster or the fear mongering that goes on about Arian Foster, you might be on the wrong side of the fence.
Jason Moore
It's possible he's.
Andy Holloway
And I'm willing to go down with him.
Jason Moore
He's looking great. In camp. People are saying like, oh, yeah, when you're, when you've been this good for that long and then in camp there, you're like surprising people. You're, you know, it's like, whoa, that guy can run.
Mike Wright
I was listening to another show and they were, they were talking up about Jonathan Stewart and it was, oh, if he stays healthy. And, and I actually had that exact same thought because when I was listening to him, he's gonna be a beast.
Andy Holloway
And talking about Jonathan Stewart.
Mike Wright
Yeah. And of course, yeah, if he's healthy. So your point is very valid of this, this fear culture of fear of. We worry about the injury when every single running back, if, even if they've never been hurt, they still have an almost equal chance to get hurt on every single play. So why not take the absolute, very best players?
Andy Holloway
That's what I'm saying now. I mean, it changes if you're not in a redraft league. Aaron Foster, you have to consider time and those things. If you're in a dynasty and you want to go draft Eddie Lacy, I'm not going to. I don't, I don't care if you, you know, those top guys are all very similar, but I don't like the fact that Foster's falling down on everybody's boards and I'm willing to go down with him if his hamstring goes down because he's been so good and there's so few guys that the coach comes out and just says, you know, I mean, they don't have anybody behind him. And he comes out and says, yeah, we're just going to give him the ball a bunch because that's what they've been doing. Last year he was, when he played last year, he was a monster. So, yeah, so now I'm not alone. So thank you. Joseph Juwan of numberfire. For that.
Mike Wright
You sure you're pronouncing that correct?
Andy Holloway
I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure that that's his name though.
Mike Wright
Let's just call him jj.
Andy Holloway
JJ from Number Fire? Yeah, he tweeted that over to me today because he knew that I had him high and wanted me not to feel alone anymore. So how can you get a hold of the show? You can do so on twitter @the ffballers if you'd like to submit a question for the show.
Mike Wright
This is new.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, this is new.
Mike Wright
Breaking breaking news.
Andy Holloway
We've been getting breaking. Wait, breaking news. I'm not ready for that.
Jason Moore
Breaking news.
Andy Holloway
Yes, that's a good point. I kind of forgot I was in the middle of talking.
Mike Wright
I got your back.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, thanks. So we, we used to take them in through email, but we've been getting so many questions that we need to stay organized to be able to answer your guys questions. So now if you have a question for the podcast itself, we want you to go to our website, thefantasyfootballers.com and you can just click the button at the top of the screen. It says submit a question. It's easy. And you just fill that form out and that sends it over to us in a way that we can answer them easier, faster, keep track. Keep track of them all. So if you have a question, let's do that. From now on, go to thefantasyfootballers.com, click submit a question and obviously you can also call us on our question voicemail box. The number for that is 302-464-8332. And we play those on the show and answer those questions as well. You can also follow us on Facebook, I guess, like us on Facebook the fantasy or facebook.com/the fantasy footballers. You can follow us individually on Twitter. I'm at Andy Holloway, Mike is at FF Hitman, and Jason is at JasonFFL. And let's go ahead and read a review from one of our listeners.
Jason Moore
Review a source. Rex. This one comes in from Kenyon. It's called the Marshawn lynch of podcasts. He says it's the perfect mix of strength in advice, consistency and the occasional beast mode moment. Which makes you want to go back and watch or listen over and over again. Absolutely. A great listen for both the fantasy recommendations and the nonsense banter that is true. Thank you very much. Kenyon, who I assume is in Seattle.
Andy Holloway
Probably, I don't know where he's from.
Jason Moore
Well, he doesn't say, but he's big into beast mode.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, that's probably true.
Mike Wright
Well, I'm in Arizona, and I'm big into beast mode, too, so.
Andy Holloway
And that's. That's his initial. A Kenyan.
Jason Moore
Oh.
Andy Holloway
But he's not a Kenyan, I don't think, like, from Kenya.
Mike Wright
If we're in his. Kenya.
Andy Holloway
A Kenya, Man.
Mike Wright
We are going super international.
Andy Holloway
We are all over the place.
Jason Moore
Not a lot of podcasts.
Andy Holloway
I feel like the percentage of people writing in from Australia has gone up. Is there. Is there a revolution happening Down Under?
Mike Wright
And Canada? I am shocked by how many entries I just told my wife today. This is insane how many Canadians are writing it. It's fantastic.
Andy Holloway
I think that just tells you how big the NFL is.
Mike Wright
And I honestly, I didn't think it was working, the international expansion, but it's. That's great. That's great stuff.
Andy Holloway
It is. So thanks for that review. We always appreciate those. Go to itunes, search for fantasy football, click on our name, leave us a review. We appreciate it.
Mike Wright
They really help the show, and we really appreciate them.
Andy Holloway
You guys want to talk some news and notes?
Jason Moore
Let's do it.
Mike Wright
Do it.
Jason Moore
News and notes from around the league.
Andy Holloway
All right, let's get into it here. Terrell Pryor has been signed.
Mike Wright
Yeah, that's it.
Andy Holloway
But not as a quarterback.
Jason Moore
That's true.
Andy Holloway
As a wide receiver, 26 years old, back at the combine, I think he ran, like, what, four, three, eight, four?
Mike Wright
He's big. He's fast. However, he was quoted, I believe, last year when people were talking about him to do a position change and was quoted saying, I don't know how to catch.
Andy Holloway
Are you serious? He said that?
Mike Wright
I am serious.
Andy Holloway
Well, that probably lends itself to why Cleveland's Tony Grassi says that he has about a 5% chance to make the roster.
Jason Moore
Yeah, you got to be able to catch to play wide receiver.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
So no more of a mathematician.
Andy Holloway
More of an interesting piece of news there out of Giants camp. This is not that surprising to me, considering who's out there, but they say Reuben Randall has been the best Giants receiver on the field by a wide margin. I think this.
Jason Moore
No one else has been out.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. ODB is not out there. Victor Cruz isn't out there.
Mike Wright
Yeah. But the reason I wanted to talk about this was that Ruben, I don't think Reuben Randall's been talked about enough. I can agree with that by just the whole community and our show.
Andy Holloway
Because of odb.
Mike Wright
Yeah. And if you look at my rankings, I'm. I'm a Lot higher on Randall than. Than most. But Randall, he's coming into his fourth season. He's going to be. He'll be 24, 24 in his fourth season. The guy is still extremely young. He's 62 and he finished with 71 catches, 938 yards, three touchdowns. I bet most people did not even realize that, that he almost had a thousand. And his final two games were massive. About 140 yards, six catches in each. And he had nine games of nine plus targets.
Andy Holloway
And going along with Jason, did you want to add something there?
Jason Moore
No, I was going to say that, you know, we spoke last week about Victor Cruz not really being the. You know, we don't think he's going to bounce back or have the ability to be Victor Cruz from the past.
Andy Holloway
So I don't know until at least another year.
Jason Moore
Exactly. So I don't. I don't see. Reuben Randall is the wide receiver too, for the Giants. So stat him accordingly and.
Mike Wright
And you can get him late. People are going to sleep on him still. You look lost.
Andy Holloway
No, I'm good. I'm good. Fred Jackson might be lost Bill's camp Fred Jackson openly admitted he's competing for a roster spot on that team. That's something that we speculated about a couple of months ago Simply because of LaShawn McCoy coming in, the guys they had on their roster and then the cost of keeping Fred Jackson on that team. I still think he'll probably make the team.
Mike Wright
If he doesn't. I smell the new Dallas running back.
Andy Holloway
Oh, my goodness.
Jason Moore
I still think the Patriots will scoop him up if he gets released. That's sad to me.
Andy Holloway
I don't think that'll happen. You don't think so just because of Blunt being there? Guys, they have, they got a ton.
Jason Moore
Of running backs in New England right now, so they certainly don't need them, but they don't always do what other people say makes sense.
Andy Holloway
Fair enough. But yeah, Fred Jackson, if it is the end for him, I don't think he's a great player.
Mike Wright
I think he'll get picked up.
Andy Holloway
The last bit of news here. Yeah, I saw this come across just the. This is more speculating about.
Mike Wright
It's just a stat.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. About Alfred Morris, Matt Jones, the fact that Bill Callahan, who's the new coach.
Mike Wright
There, who was the offensive line coach in Dallas last year.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, he's been to. On and then the jets before that. Right. For three years. So he's actually coached four top nine rushing attacks in the last six years. So his offensive line, that's pretty good. Yeah. And that team will be running the ball. So moving Alfred up a little bit in your mind.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
What about the Matt Jones thing? Because he's pretty locked in as the third down back.
Mike Wright
I'm. I'm not worried about Matt Jones. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
I don't think I'd be worried about him but I'd be more curious. I'm more asking you what your opinion of. Do you draft Matt Jones?
Mike Wright
Yeah. As a handcuff I do. But he'll be similar to Hulu last year. I think he's not going to really cut into the workload. I think ALF is good for a thousand yards and eight to ten touchdowns. I just. People are. He's a guy that people are kind of forgetting about because oh, he's gotten worse every year but he's still good. Really good.
Jason Moore
And he doesn't catch the ball. I think a lot of times he. He gets less respect than he deserves. So. I agree with that. And right now when you've got a guy who doesn't normally get the respect that he deserves and then you've got a running back who's getting good publicity behind him. Scares a lot of people off. But I am with you in the sense that I think he has a good year. I still like alf.
Mike Wright
What's his ADP at? Just throwing that over there.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Look that up real quick. I mean he has some of the things about him that people hesitate with lynch about where you have like he's just not sexy. He's not. He's never going to break a 60 yard run. I think that's a little bit of why that happens.
Mike Wright
But if, if his ADP is anywhere close to the 4th or if he could slip down, I mean that'd be just insane. I'd be all over that.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And he's as solid as they come week to week consistency, which is what you want right now.
Jason Moore
He's going top half of the third.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Jason Moore
In a standard.
Mike Wright
Yeah. And ppr. I bet he drops.
Andy Holloway
Probably a good value though.
Mike Wright
I would take him there.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
So beginning at 4th MPP we wanted.
Andy Holloway
To let you guys know we got such good feedback from the mock draft show a couple of weeks ago that we are going to go ahead and do another one of those. We're going to do a PPR draft next week. So make sure you stay tuned to that. We're always talking about fantasydraftwizard.com it's kind of like our go to offseason tool for trying out strategies for getting a Feel for what guys are available and what rounds. And in testing things out, we've had a lot of people go to fantasydraftwizard.com and then screenshot their final draft and tweet it over to us.
Mike Wright
I have a new rule.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Because I'm exhausted from all these mock drafts. I love it. I'm exhausted. But here's what you got to do. If we reply to your mock draft, you are under oath that you must leave an itunes review.
Andy Holloway
Is that like the transaction that takes place?
Mike Wright
There's an agreement between buyer and seller. Just understand that we. We love those itunes reviews. And if we're reviewing.
Andy Holloway
So if we reply to your help me help you.
Jason Moore
Ooh, Jerry McGuire did.
Andy Holloway
That's not too bad. So we'll be using fantasydraftwizard.com because that's what we use to do the full live draft because we actually go round by round and make the decisions right here live on the air so that you get a picture into our thinking and our process. It's not just reviewing something we did in the past. And then, oh, I think in that round, I was thinking about this thing.
Jason Moore
It puts us on the spot where we now have to go, oh, we got to make a decision, and we're going to verbalize how we do it.
Andy Holloway
So a lot of you guys play in PPR leagues. Full PPR league. So we're going to do a full PPR live mock draft. We're also going to have the second half of our interview with Brian Tesh on the show that day as well for Tuesday.
Mike Wright
Yep.
Andy Holloway
Sound good? So let's get into the NFC north divisional breakdown.
Mike Wright
Let's do it.
Andy Holloway
Let's start with the Green Bay Packers. Who are they?
Mike Wright
Fantasy gold, man.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
All over that team.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. So let's. Let's look at their offense. They were obviously the cream of the crop last year, which is easy to do with guys like Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. Eddie Lacy headlining that offense. They were number one in scoring. They were the eighth best passing offense, the 11th best rushing offense. They averaged 386 yards per game. They didn't really add too many guys to the offensive side of the ball, but you see a maturing Devonte Adams coming into this season. You also have Ty Montgomery was drafted in the third round. He's not somebody on my fantasy radar. Probably play some special teams, return some kicks, and contribute if a guy gets hurt. They didn't really lose anybody. They kind of stayed status quo.
Mike Wright
That's the packers way, man. Though you. They draft their whole team. They're not a free agent team. They pay their guys if they need to.
Andy Holloway
So let's talk. I'm gonna let you guys just share some general thoughts on Green Bay and then I'll ask some questions if they don't get kind of answered.
Jason Moore
Yeah, well, so clearly Aaron Rodgers and the passing attack there is world class and I would say is the cream of the world class. I think it's the number one in the league this coming year. You know, I've got Aaron Rodgers ranked decently ahead of Andrew Luck, which places you in the minority, which is mind blowing to me.
Mike Wright
I have just a quick stat to add on to piggyback on to Jason of this. And this, I guess is more real life, but has fantasy implications of. Of. Let's hold off. And Andrew Luck is the greatest. Aaron Rodgers, since starting for seven years, has thrown 56 interceptions. In three years, Andrew Luck has already thrown 43.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, that's. Aaron Rodgers does not throw interceptions.
Mike Wright
And on top of that, since starting, except for the one year he got hurt, he's either been first or second.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Every year there's no fluctuation.
Mike Wright
So let's just hold on. With Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers is the king.
Jason Moore
Yeah. And in a lot of drafts, you know, like you're alluding to here, I'm in the minority. So you can get him second. If you get the guy that finishes first and you draft him second, that is good. I think the thing that I want to talk about here, the wide receiver position, especially with their three main guys, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Devonte Adams, that's where you've got to decide how's that going to break up. And over the last part of last year, the targets were actually higher to Randall Cobb than to Jordy Nelson. So essentially, if you take it on the year, Jordy wins the target battle. If you take like the last nine games, it was really close, but Jordy was winning. And if you take the last half of the year, Randall Cobb beat him by a decent margin. And so I think that trend and the fact that they paid him that money speaks pretty well to me that Randall Cobb is going to repeat what he did last year. Some people saying, you know, he put up, you know, career highs.
Andy Holloway
And I will say this, that. Well, let me ask you this, Mike. Give me your fantasy hitman opinion of a PPR league, full ppr. Do you draft Cobb over Nelson ever?
Mike Wright
No, I still take. I still take.
Andy Holloway
So that was question number one and two. Devonte Adams Playing on the outside. Is he the one that could more likely take away from Jordy's production then?
Mike Wright
I actually have some interesting things that I found was looking up on devonte Adams. I don't know if you guys are know who Matt Harmon is or if the. The people out in the. Oh, I also have a name I want to run by people.
Andy Holloway
Stub your toe.
Mike Wright
No, no, no, no. The. I'm running it by the. The people for the listeners instead of footballer nation. How about the Foot Clan? I just want to throw that out.
Andy Holloway
So you just came out of left field. The back of your brain just.
Mike Wright
It reminded me.
Andy Holloway
It pushed it all the way up through devonte Adams.
Mike Wright
I want to call the people who listen to the show the Foot Clan.
Andy Holloway
Well, we'll see how many hashtags we see.
Mike Wright
Okay. But anyway, so Matt Harmon, he runs a site and he's. His big thing is the reception perception. And he dives super deep into receivers and he breaks down every single one of their routes run, not. Not just if they catch the ball, but just running routes. And he. He talks about how successful they were versus types of coverage versus man, versus zone versus double and versus press. And devonte Adams numbers were actually very disappointing. He was well below the league average of being successful against all types of coverage. So that.
Andy Holloway
So he was. Okay, he can grow.
Mike Wright
He can grow. But where. What it says to me on where they said, okay, we got to pay Randall Cobb, that actually to me is more shade on devonte Adams not ready to be a superstar.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Okay.
Jason Moore
Some of those numbers, though, are skewed. The way that he comes up with those numbers are, you know, based on. I believe some of it is based on kind of the rating of the quarterback throwing to certain wide receivers. And so you're comparing that to two all star receivers in Jordan?
Mike Wright
No, he's comparing it to league average.
Jason Moore
Is it?
Mike Wright
Yeah, he. Well, he. And he breaks down.
Andy Holloway
But I'm curious what the, you know, the first six games versus the next six games.
Jason Moore
Not only that, but devonte Adams admitted that he was a little lost last year. I mean, you know, you come in as a rookie and he said he did not have a full grasp. And so that's going to play into.
Andy Holloway
How good you are other than just debating this. I mean, devonte Adams camp report was. He was the mvp. That's what the coach came out and said. He looked the part in camp. So that's one of those things that we all do. Right. We have to. To kind of process the reports that come through the stats from last year, projecting forward Devonte Adams, if one of these guys goes down, is a wide receiver.
Mike Wright
Two. Two.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I say wide receiver.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. So Eddie Lacy, tried and true at the top of every draft board of ours. Anyways, there's not too much, you know, we've talked about. No, he's not number one on mine, but he's like, I remember where I have him right now, the two or three. So not too much to talk about. Lacy. He's a workhorse back, a true workhorse back. Is there anything to talk about at tight end or should we move on to the Vikings?
Jason Moore
I would keep an eye on Richard Rogers. I think that he developed a good rapport last year, second half. And whenever you can get part of this passing attack, you want it. So.
Mike Wright
Yeah. The shade I got to throw on that is the latest report is the team hopes he can be a 50 catch player. Hopes that he can.
Jason Moore
Well, it wasn't if you're in like.
Andy Holloway
A five tight end league, though.
Jason Moore
No, but it wasn't. It wasn't his volume so much as his use in the red zone. I think that, you know, he. I don't, I don't remember.
Andy Holloway
Was it Rogers that fumbled that ball and ruined that game?
Mike Wright
He had two touchdowns.
Andy Holloway
Was that Rogers that did that?
Jason Moore
No, no. Because that guy got cut.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Oh, okay. That was. Yeah.
Mike Wright
But now I looked up the targets of Aaron Rodgers throwing the tight end, and they're. They're not very high at all. And the only guy who actually got targets as a tight end was Jermichel Finley.
Andy Holloway
All right, let's roll on to the Minnesota Vikings, a team that I personally think is on the rise, which always is, aided by Adrian Peterson staying on your roster. They were not good on offense last year. They were at the bottom quarter of the league. They were 27th in total offense. They were 20th in scoring offense. They were at the bottom of the passing game. That doesn't necessarily speak to Bridgewater having issues as much as them not trusting him with a lot of throws, but you have a lot of fantasy relevant guys and a lot of guys people have questions about for the fantasy season, including Charles Johnson. Mike Wallace has arrived into that North Turner offense. People want to know what Adrian Peterson's pass catching game will be with Norv Turner. And then you have the normal off season hype about guys like Cordero, Patterson, Kyle Rudolph. What are the roles for those guys this year? They didn't really add anybody but Mike Wallace to the offensive side. They lost Greg Jennings, they lost their fullback yeah.
Mike Wright
Which is interesting.
Andy Holloway
Felton was really good for them. But other than that. Let's talk about the Minnesota Vikings. If this offense, which I think it will make a huge leap. But what does that mean to Teddy Bridgewater? Does that mean more scoring opportunities in the same amount of yards? Does he come out and surprise people?
Mike Wright
I think he can surprise people. It would not shock me to have him be a QB one, but I don't. Not at this point. I'm not counting on it. What is interesting for Teddy Bridgewater is he had a 64% completion rate that put him at the third highest rookie completion rate in history. So a very important thing clearly for a quarterback is to be accurate. But generally speaking, quarterbacks don't improve dramatically of accuracy through their career. You can either do it or you can't. And clearly he can do it. So now they just needs the opportunity to.
Andy Holloway
And the weapons.
Mike Wright
And the weapons. And they played all year without Adrian Peterson. They still managed a solid rushing attack with Oziad and McKinnon. Peterson is just a beast. He's a 5.0 lifetime average. He's going to. He'll have his best catching year of his career.
Andy Holloway
That's what you're predicting for him?
Mike Wright
Yes. Yeah. Best reception grabs of his career. He's at double digit touchdowns every year. Adrian Peterson is as steady as they come.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I can't stand the addition of Mike Wallace.
Andy Holloway
Okay. That's what I was going to ask. Really. I think he might be pretty productive there.
Jason Moore
I do too.
Andy Holloway
I think you can't stand it. For who? Charles Johnson?
Jason Moore
Yes. I loved Charles Johnson. I was a big believer in him. And so I honestly right now it's tough to decide how much I factor in Mike Wallace into this because I don't see this offense being a very pass happy offense. I think they're going to put up more passing yards and more passing attempts than they did last year just because it's not a rookie anymore running the offense. But at the same time they're not going to be a passing team if they.
Andy Holloway
If they add 50 yards to their passing offense per game, which is not putting them anywhere near the top of the league. I think the Charles Johnson production will be very similar to last year because the rapport that Bridgewater has with Johnson is not going anywhere. And Mike Wallace doesn't build rapport with anybody.
Jason Moore
Right. But the problem with Charles.
Andy Holloway
He doesn't.
Jason Moore
The. The problem with the Charles Johnson's numbers staying the same as last year is that the hope in Charles Johnson is he's Going to be a big breakout guy. And that's. That's what I think Mike Wallace takes away is his potential to really break out and be a star. And where you're drafting him a lot of times is with that hope. And I. And I don't really have that hope anymore. And I think Mike Wallace is decently productive. I think Mike Wallace, you know, every team he plays for, he produces fantasy points worthy of being on a fantasy roster and starting week in, week out.
Andy Holloway
So Kyle Rudolph is a tight end.
Jason Moore
Perfect.
Andy Holloway
Streamable, streamable tight end. In the North Turner offense, we kind of expected bigger things from last year. Probably about the same. Well, he got banged up.
Mike Wright
Yeah, he didn't. Didn't play at all.
Jason Moore
He'll be way better than last year.
Andy Holloway
If he played all.
Mike Wright
No, he played, but just not very much.
Andy Holloway
That's what I thought.
Mike Wright
Yeah, not very much. He was very disappointing. I had one last quick point about Charles Johnson versus Wallace. Johnson's playing the productive receiver position for Northerners offense.
Andy Holloway
Zarv loves him too, so I. But I agree he probably can't be.
Mike Wright
Snuck him away from Cleveland and Kyle Shanahan quit partly because they let Charles Johnson go because he thought that you guys are idiots for making this happen. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
That like, amazing wide receiver crop they have in Cleveland.
Mike Wright
Right.
Andy Holloway
Clearly replaced Johnson.
Mike Wright
He was not needed here. But Charles Johnson was through. From week 11 on, he was the 26 wide receiver. I think he could. He can make the jump to be a wide receiver, too.
Andy Holloway
I think he's. I think he's a wide receiver too.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
But if he gets up to two, then he's had a better year.
Andy Holloway
Yep. All right, let's move it on to the Detroit Lions. Joy Bell's team and their total offense. Last year they were 19th in the league. They were the 12th best passing offense. They were at the. Oh, wait. They were 29th in rushing.
Jason Moore
Oh, wait. But that's okay because I hear something. I hear something coming.
Andy Holloway
Is that Manny Ramirez and Lake and Thompson. Two guards. Two guards. All aboard.
Mike Wright
We're leaving the station. Andy, please.
Andy Holloway
I don't think I can talk about the display lines leaving the station.
Mike Wright
Abdullah Express.
Andy Holloway
I don't have a ticket.
Mike Wright
Yeah, clearly. 29th best.
Andy Holloway
I'm saving my money.
Mike Wright
29Th rush.
Andy Holloway
I'm saving my money.
Mike Wright
Joint Bell's really good.
Andy Holloway
All right. They've added a couple guards. That should help the running game. They've added Lance Moore, obviously. Amir Abdullah, indoor, if you've ever heard of him. In the second round, Abdullah was drafted. They lost Reggie Bush they lost Garrett Reynolds, their tackle. So let's answer some questions about the Lions. I think we're all in the camp that Calvin Johnson is going to bounce back from an injury riddled year. Is anybody throwing shade on Calvin?
Jason Moore
No, I had him ranked outside my top five way early in the off season, as you remember.
Mike Wright
Breaking news.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he's back.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
You changed your rankings.
Jason Moore
I know.
Andy Holloway
You are a coward.
Jason Moore
Getting grief on.
Andy Holloway
You are a coward. It is June 24th. Those got to be locked in.
Jason Moore
One of the best things that's not locked in about good fantasy players is that new information changes opinions. What, we're not going to just say something? No, I mean, but, but this is important because, you know, I got some.
Andy Holloway
Grief for changing my Colin context. Right. I got grief for changing my Colin Kaepernick prediction to move them from four to six.
Mike Wright
You are the bitter man right now.
Andy Holloway
No, I just think it's comedic.
Mike Wright
You got that keystone face.
Andy Holloway
No, don't, don't. Don't plant seeds out there, Mike. Don't plant seeds. Jason, continue giving some perspective.
Jason Moore
Yeah, so the perspective here is, you know, we've done fantasy for a long, long time and there's two types of fantasy players and fantasy experts for that matter. There's the type that they got their guy and they're talking him up or they're talking him down. And they won't be swayed off of that because they have already announced it. They have the lines been drawn, they've made the proclamation and so now they just stick to their guns.
Mike Wright
Jeremy.
Jason Moore
And so it's one of those things where it's like you're a fool to do that. And it's not being wishy washy, it's wanting to be the best, wanting to get it right. And so when I'm wrong, when Mike's wrong, when Andy's wrong, we try to evaluate the data and change it. And so, yeah, that's just to say you will hear us change our opinions as time goes on, especially right now in the early office.
Andy Holloway
So talk about Calvin Johnson.
Jason Moore
So Calvin Johnson to me is somebody that, I think I had a little bit too much short term memory as I looked at the games that he played in last year where he was on the field not as a decoy, but playing. He was an absolute monster. You keep in mind that he missed several games and then played several more games as a complete decoy.
Andy Holloway
And he was a fathead out there on the field. They just stuck him on his.
Jason Moore
They had someone running with him, you know, on a Cardboard stick. And he still finished. What did he finish top 15 or so in wide receiver last year?
Mike Wright
Oh, I didn't even write that down.
Jason Moore
So I mean it's point would have.
Andy Holloway
Been very profound if you came with a big number right there.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I'm pulling it up.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
So yeah, I like Calvin this year.
Andy Holloway
His numbers were skewed by those decoy games and the injuries.
Mike Wright
What I. Speaking of that, if you. So if you kind of work around the numbers, I took out his two injured games because those were just a mirage of who Calvin Johnson is. And then you extrapolate everything from when he wasn't playing. Let's say he's healthy, he was on pace for 182 targets.
Andy Holloway
That. Yeah, that's pretty good.
Mike Wright
So he still had 128. Oh, he finished 14th.
Jason Moore
Yeah, 14th. So even better. So he was just outside being a wide receiver one despite basically being there for, you know, three quarters of the season at the most.
Andy Holloway
Got to give those veterans the respect they deserve. Yeah, I tweeted about that this week. Guys just. They want to jump off those Alfred Morris non sexy Frank Gore type guys. You can't do it.
Mike Wright
I will say that when, when the cliff happens, I'm. It's going to be really quick, I think for Calvin, but I don't. It's not this year.
Andy Holloway
I don't agree. I think he takes the exact same path of Larry Fitzgerald or Andre Johnson.
Mike Wright
Where the Larry fantasy cliff was talking about. The fantasy cliff.
Andy Holloway
Okay, I'm with you on that. That could happen. Possession receiver.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Andy Holloway
But he's still got that body.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Big old body. You can't take six five Lexus commercial. What did he used to be in?
Mike Wright
Oh, where they dress him up.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Oh, that. Yeah, that was.
Andy Holloway
I never could get that out of my head.
Mike Wright
Those abs.
Andy Holloway
Megatron, it was like he was forming.
Jason Moore
And I know we, we slightly passed him. But I do need to say this because. Because I think it's an important piece of fantasy information which is.
Andy Holloway
We got a couple minutes, we can talk about the lines.
Jason Moore
Last week you asked the quick question as we opened the show was who is it that's going to ruin people's teams?
Andy Holloway
The question was.
Mike Wright
Yeah, oh, I know where this is going.
Andy Holloway
Who's going to stop you making the playoffs this year?
Jason Moore
Yeah. And my backup answer to Tom Brady, which I have to caveat that that was assuming the four game suspension holds.
Andy Holloway
Which we don't know.
Jason Moore
Right.
Andy Holloway
Which should have been in our news and notes. But Mike let that out.
Jason Moore
But Joy Bell.
Andy Holloway
Joy Bell was talking about Ruben Randall.
Jason Moore
Joyk Bell was my backup there for that pick because that's not. But that's not a consensus here because Andy's still likes Joy Bell. But I do think Joyce Bell is the type of guy that. Where you're drafting him. He is not going to produce. And I, you know, I, we disagree.
Mike Wright
Do I have.
Andy Holloway
No joke. Bell bets. Is that. Yeah, I do.
Mike Wright
We have.
Andy Holloway
I made that stupid bet. All right. No, I'm fine with that one. That's cool. Joy Bell's our guy. I still believe that. Can't you tell?
Jason Moore
Yeah, he is a big deal. And he's getting bigger from what I hear this offseason.
Mike Wright
Bigger. Getting older.
Andy Holloway
You mean like Eddie Lacy bigger or like Trent Richardson Morris bigger? Oh, crap. All right, let's talk about the Bears. Let's talk about Jay Cutler. Jay Cuddy, smoking J. Let's talk about that kind of remade wide receiver core change in offense. Obviously we didn't, we didn't put that in the notes here, but Tressman is gone. We are throwing big shade on Matt Forte this year as a elite fantasy running back. We don't believe that that will continue. And as the offense changes and as his carries pile up. They were not a good offense last year. They were, you know, for all the talk of Mark Trustman being gone and maybe that has more fantasy implications than real offense implications, but I mean, they were bad. They were the 27th best rushing offense last year. They have Jeremy Langford in the backfield now, Jacquiz Rogers in the backfield now. We just talked about them signing Daniel Thomas. They have Kadeem Carey. One of those guys will be gone. They still have Martellus Bennett, albeit unhappy. They drafted Kevin White. They drafted a center in the third round. They picked up Eddie Royal, who we have to talk about Eddie Royal because I've got notes. He had the best year of his career last year other than his rookie year. When he played with Jay Cutler. He was. When he came into the league, he was the Wes Welker of the Denver Broncos. And when he lost Cutler, his role changed. So let's pick a guy. Who do you want to talk about?
Mike Wright
We'll start talking about. Yeah, we'll go right there. So in 2008, he had 129 targets. His finishing line was 9, 91, 985 touchdowns. That's a very strong year, especially for a rookie. And then Jay Cutler was traded for two first round picks or whatever. So I don't think he's going to see 129 targets necessarily.
Andy Holloway
But that was year one, though. What did he get last year?
Mike Wright
Last year he got 91 in San Diego.
Andy Holloway
That's not bad.
Mike Wright
I think you can get more than that because you have Adam Gaze coming in who ran the the Bronco offense last year, which. And we don't know how much, you know, Manning influences everything. But last year Manning threw the ball 597 times. Even with that, those injured games. So he still threw the ball a ton. I think Eddie Royal can be over 100 targets and you have. Because Forte is not getting 130 targets again. Bennett is not getting 128.
Andy Holloway
I don't think the targets for Jeffrey even go up with. With Marshall leaving, I think he was already marginal. He was already top five. So there's a lot of targets to go around on that team. I would not at all be surprised if Eddie Royals the number two white out fantasy wise on that team.
Mike Wright
Yeah, it wouldn't shock me either.
Jason Moore
I expect him to be.
Mike Wright
Oh, okay.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
And so speaking of Matt Forte, where how we're throwing the shade. He's approaching the 2000 carry marker where the the hall of Famers separate themselves. He's got over 2,200 touches total if you put in his catches. Last year was the second worst year of his career. He had a 3.9 yard per carry average which is under the the suck threshold of 4. And his entire fantasy season was saved by his record breaking 102 catches, which. And if you don't remember, they fully padded his stats the last game to make sure he got the record, which I'm all for. Get your guys the records. But when you bring in a guy like Jaquiz Rogers, that's what he does. He's a great pass blocker and he's great taking a dump and wow, Mike.
Andy Holloway
Laughed at himself so fast. What's he great at?
Mike Wright
You know, one of the things catching.
Andy Holloway
I hope that ends up on Twitter.
Jason Moore
To lay up to lay a pile on top of that. One of the things that people forget about Forte is that he was not. He was not the goal line back for the majority of his career.
Mike Wright
That's true.
Jason Moore
Right. They brought in bush to pound in those. It was so frustrating having Forte he's. And so you know, Tressman came in and when Tressman was there, they just used him as a true bell cow every three downs, goal line every work. That was only while Tressman was there and his running was 3.9 yards. Now I do expect him to get a ton of usage. I do expect him to be their, you know, first guy. I'm not predicting injury. I just think inefficiency. So kind of like what happened, what you got out of LeSean McCoy last year for where you drafted him? You drafted him first. He finished about 12th.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, if I could cut that out and you know, obviously I take all the dump stuff out, but Mike said, but if they could cut that take on Forte, that can be the. The banner theme song for our entire offseason of discussing him overdrafted. It could not be more perfectly stated than that. Inefficiency. And LaShawn McCoy is an amazing example of that where. Oh, he's a can't miss. Well, no, you can miss.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
And when the offense changes, you can really miss. And when you're older, you can really, really miss.
Jason Moore
Well, you can say, right, you still. You didn't miss on Lechon McCoy.
Mike Wright
Right. Because you felt like it, though.
Jason Moore
You did. Because you felt like where you had to draft him. He doesn't produce there and that misses. So, you know, if you grab Forte and he still ends up as, you know, you know, decent RB2, but you had to draft him as one of those top five guys, if that's what you're thinking, you're going to be disappointed.
Andy Holloway
I want to ask you, Jason, a couple questions here about Alshon Jeffrey before we close out our Bears segment here. Alshon Jeffrey or Ty Hilton?
Jason Moore
Alshon Jeffrey all day?
Andy Holloway
ALSHON Jeffrey or A.J. green?
Jason Moore
Who. That one is really, really good. I would say Alshon Jeffrey right now.
Andy Holloway
Wow. Okay. Alshon Jeffrey or demarius Thomas?
Jason Moore
Demarys Thomas.
Andy Holloway
Alshon Jeffrey or Randall Cobb?
Jason Moore
I have Alshon Jeffrey one spot ahead of Randall Cobb.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Those are all guys that are in the same vicinity for Mike on his list. Mike has him eight overall ppr.
Mike Wright
Oh, eight. No, he's eight for everything.
Andy Holloway
Eight in standard, eight in PVR as well. He is stepping into the. I only mentioned Demarius because he's stepping in the Demarius Thomas role in the Adam Gaze offense.
Mike Wright
We'll get those screens.
Andy Holloway
So the screen game for him could really up his total catches and it could up his production well, especially in half and full point PPR leagues.
Jason Moore
To echo the awesome. If you're out there, whoever wrote the blurb on the Rotowire app today about the Peyton Manning trade, bless your soul. But to echo that, Jay Cutler, he ain't no Payne Manning. So that's the difference between Mary's Thomas and Alshawn Jackson.
Mike Wright
But I love Alison this Year.
Andy Holloway
That's a good point.
Mike Wright
Jay Cutler is actually a very accurate quarterback.
Jason Moore
I don't know. I don't know what you're saying. Is that true?
Andy Holloway
I think he is pretty accurate.
Mike Wright
Hold on. I'm scrolling up 66% last year.
Jason Moore
That is very good.
Mike Wright
You know, he just throws a bunch of interceptions. That's why people are so down on Jay Cutler. He's actually a good quarterback.
Andy Holloway
They were middle of the road in the passing game last year. There's a lot of garbage time on that team. Their defense was. Yeah, that's disgusting.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Andy Holloway
So we didn't talk about Kevin White at all. I feel like that is not fair to this divisional breakdown. There are a lot of names, I guess, that are relevant on this team. Give me. Mike, I'm sure you have some notes on Kevin White a little bit. So give me. Give me 30 seconds on Kevin White for the people. Well, Kevin White for the Foot Clan.
Mike Wright
Thank you. Thank you.
Andy Holloway
I'm just trying it out.
Jason Moore
It feels like we're the bad guys, though, because The Foot Clan.
Andy Holloway
No, we're Shredder.
Mike Wright
You don't want to be Super Shredder. Trivia question. We're way off topic. Trivia question. Who wakes for that is cool. Was Super Shredder in Turtles 2?
Andy Holloway
What, the actor?
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
Oh, no idea.
Andy Holloway
Vin Diesel.
Mike Wright
Kevin Nash, the wrestler.
Andy Holloway
You look. You are very excited about all things Ninja Turtles here.
Mike Wright
I love that. No, but there was a question last week or on Tuesday, and they called us. Nash and Hall. I'm tying into the Foot Clan here, people. All right, but Kevin White.
Andy Holloway
So we'll see.
Jason Moore
Well, the 30 seconds on Kevin White is over.
Mike Wright
Athletic freak considered a little bit raw, which is why Amari Cooper went ahead of him. But with his. With his physical talents and gifts, there's just. There's no way he won't be an elite receiver in this league eventually, Right? I'm not sure it will. I was big on the Kevin White train if. If you listen to the previous podcast. But just. Just really think about who Eddie Royal is with Jay Cutler. And Jay Cutler, when he finds a guy he likes and he has that connection with that guy, he goes to.
Jason Moore
That guy locks on.
Mike Wright
So, you know, Kevin Whiteson.
Andy Holloway
Jeffrey's gonna have a great year.
Mike Wright
Yes. But Kevin White's rookie season might be a little bit disappointing for Fantasy.
Andy Holloway
All right, that's your NFC north rundown. If you've missed any of our other divisional rundown rundowns, you can grab those. We recorded the AFC north on Tuesday. Last week, we did the NFC and AFC West. And like he said, on Tuesday next week we're going to be doing the live PPR mock draft. But we're doing it live. That's right. Got to bring it. All right, let's get into the listener question section of the show where we do our best to set you straight this offseason.
Jason Moore
Mailbag, mailbag.
Andy Holloway
Did. Did Jaquiz get out of the restroom? Out of the Porta John? Is he out of there now?
Mike Wright
Jaquiz on third down is. He's a cool 55 degree Porta John.
Andy Holloway
If you have a question, remember we you can go to the website the fantasy footballers.com click that submit a question button and send us your question for the show. Try to keep those brief and to the point so we can answer them on the show, not just read them for half an hour. And you can also call us 302-464-TFFB. Leave us a question on the voicemail box and we play those on the show and answer them. So let's go ahead and do that. Sound good, guys?
Mike Wright
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
D
Hey guys, just want to express my sincere gratitude. I mean, you guys are attentive with your mailbag and your responses. The feedback is just amazing and it's so in tune to what I'm already thinking. It's just great self assurance. So I really appreciate you and everything you do. But I had a question because it's just bugging me. Like I've been very strategic on like what I've decided to do and how I'm drafting and I pretty much got it down. But these OTAs really scaring me in these OTA press conferences. And I was just curious about how you guys are feeling about some of the feedback because it's really making me rank people lower than I thought. I mean, you got, you got Jay Cutler talking about Kevin White is going to be possibly the wide receiver. You got Emmanuel Sanders earlier last month talking about he's not going to be as productive as last year in this offensive scheme. And then, you know, he got like as early as yesterday, they're talking about how Chip Kelly plans to use Miles Austin in unique ways. So it's like, it's kind of like a scary thing. Like I had an ideal perception of, you know, how I wanted to draft some players I was looking at and different sleepers. But all of this news out of OTA kind of scaring me. So I was curious what you guys were thinking about it and your feedback. Thanks again. Love this show.
Andy Holloway
I think that kind of Speaks a little bit to what we talked about earlier in the fact that you have to kind of take a lot of those reports with a grain of salt and give yourself some time. What did you say on Twitter this week in terms of your rankings and the way we have things locked in? You know, it's, it's.
Mike Wright
Oh, you gotta be, dude. Bruce. Bruce Lee, man. Be water.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Not stone.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Water always wins. And you, when you get new information, which, and OTAS is a, is a great chance to get a lot of information for the, for the off season. And I guess it's, it's, it's a training. There's a training of your gut that needs to happen through that you'll gain every year through year as you play fantasy football because remember last year, Le'Veon Bell said, oh, LeGarrett Blunt's going to get the goal line work.
Andy Holloway
Yep.
Mike Wright
And everyone freaked out.
Andy Holloway
Yep.
Mike Wright
Freaked out. And week one. Nope. Le'Veon Bell is going to get the goal line work and then all was right with the world.
Andy Holloway
But are a great chance for coaches to talk up new acquisitions and things like that as well, to kind of bring the team together and give some, you know, enthusiasm to the fan base. You know, I don't know if Miles Lawson is gonna have a role or not, but if you bring in a brand new guy and he's playing well in OTAs, you're gonna talk about him.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Reward him.
Jason Moore
You listen with a grain of salt. But I listen more intently on negative news than I do on positive news because I expect positive point. I think that positive news comes out all the time. Everybody's great. These guys are good. The team looks good. This is so improved. His work ethic is great. Well, yeah, that's great. But what about. He showed up to camp 15 pounds overweight.
Andy Holloway
Yep.
Mike Wright
Kelvin Benjamin.
Jason Moore
Joy Bell. Sorry.
Andy Holloway
Has there been any report on Joy Bell's weight? I don't think there have. I think you're just making fun of him because you think he's fat and you're wrong.
Jason Moore
No, I don't think if Joyk Bell saw me, he'd say I'm fat.
Andy Holloway
Well, yeah, no, but.
Jason Moore
No, but the point is, is that sometimes coaches will publicly out guys as motivation, but it's because they need it. And so that's what I listen to more, is negative over positive.
Andy Holloway
That's a great, great piece of feedback there. I think a good one to follow. All right, let's go to the next question.
D
Yo, yo, yo. It's Tony Meepro. Tony, I had a question. I was just wondering how you guys feel about drafting players that are rivals to your actual favorite team in real life. For example. I'm a New Yorker. I love my giants 07.11, you know, so I was just wondering how you feel. Like, I can't even pick eagles for my team. I can't even look at our national bird anymore because of Philadelphia. You know what I'm saying? It's very hard for me to pull the trigger on a guy like Jordan Matthews in the fourth round when there's a guy like DeAndre Hopkins in the fourth round. I'm just gonna pick DeAndre Hopkins, no doubt. You know, so thanks, guys. I hope you guys answered this question. You got.
Andy Holloway
And thank you.
Mike Wright
Yeah, Tony.
Andy Holloway
Tony writes in again. And this is a great question.
Jason Moore
Yeah, it's.
Andy Holloway
I think it's a great question for the kind of the culture of fantasy football, because why are you playing.
Jason Moore
And the opposite too. Not just teams to players to avoid, but how much higher do you rank players you love on teams you love?
Andy Holloway
And for me, I mean, I can tell you from experience, I mean, there have been a lot of very good Seahawks fantasy players named Marshawn lynch in the last few years, and I've had him on my team. And, you know, we're big Arizona Cardinal fans out here in Phoenix, and I really did not enjoy having to kind of root for my home team and then also hope lynch gets like, you know, the ideal game for me as a Cardinal fan was we're blowing them out, but lynch scores like three times. I just don't enjoy that.
Mike Wright
So here's a true story hearkening back to last year's championship week with me.
Andy Holloway
Against that out of my mind.
Mike Wright
And I had lynch on my team because I, I just played to win for fantasy. I take the best guys. That's how I approach it. But I have. I was at the game of Arizona vs Seattle playoffs, Division on the line. I have to worry about Marshawn lynch where he didn't start the game because we don't know. He just wasn't there. And I'm freaking out. I'm watching my team get blown out. Marshawn lynch is not doing anything. Then beast quake 2.0 happens and. And sails me to the title.
Andy Holloway
We don't talk about that. But yeah.
Mike Wright
So my, My point is I, It. It depends on how you want to play. If, if you're playing in a friend's in family league and against your buddies, then by all means, do not take rival players. But if you're in a big money game.
Andy Holloway
Oh, yeah.
Mike Wright
You play smart.
Andy Holloway
I don't pay too much attention to it. I will say this. When I've had a guy on my own, I don't actually like. I don't actually like owning, like, let's say, Larry Fitzgerald in his heyday. Like, I don't even. I mean, it's kind of fun to have him and root for him, but when you are a fan of a team, I don't like the bittersweet feeling of, okay, Michael Floyd just caught a touchdown. I'm really happy for my team. But, oh, I kind of wish it was a different guy. Like, I just don't like dealing with that.
Jason Moore
Right.
Andy Holloway
I will. I don't have a problem. I'd rather win at fantasy, but, yeah, that's a. You have any thoughts, Jason?
Jason Moore
I lean more your direction. I don't have any problem having guys on the other team because, look, you know, you're gonna play other. You know, you play 16 games in a year, you're going to.
Mike Wright
You're going to play if you're in the title game. I mean, I play 16 games every year.
Jason Moore
So my point is, you're not going to be able to avoid having guys on your roster that are playing against your favorite team. So just, you know, draft them.
Andy Holloway
Yep, Yep. Unless you're Tony Meebo, in which case, hey, if DeAndre Hopkins and Jordan Matthews are on the board, I'm taking deandre.
Jason Moore
You can use it as a tie break.
Andy Holloway
Regardless of my love for either guy or me, neither team. All right, next question. Let's get to.
D
Hey, guys, love the show. Just started listening a couple months ago. Really kind of out there from left field. Question. Given his amazing natural athletic ability and the absolute lack of any sort of solid aerial weapon for the Cleveland Browns, do you see Terrell Pryor not only making the roster, but contributing to the passing attack in any way, shape or form? Thanks, guys.
Jason Moore
Thank you for your question. The answer is no.
Andy Holloway
The. There are 1,696 players in the NFL and there are 1695 that I would have on my fantasy team ahead of Trial Pryor.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I think the. The words came out of his mouth, like, at the beginning of the show. I don't know how to catch.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I mean, if I'm wrong, then I will enjoy that because it will be the biggest surprise of my life. But everyone's a freak athlete in the NFL. Okay. You know, and it's a long shot. And not to mention that passing offense. I mean, I actually like, given the wide receivers, given the wide receiver one position, I don't think he produces for them. So, yeah, that's. That about sums up the Terrell Pryor news. I hope you're not counting on him.
Mike Wright
Dynasty hold.
Andy Holloway
Hey, guys.
D
Love the show. So my question is kind of like tight end base because it's like, it's obvious after you get Gronk, you know, and maybe Jimmy Graham and Kelsey that there's a huge layoff and you can wait towards tight end. My question lies purely at that. Jimmy Graham, Kelce. Like, I see a lot of value on Chelsea, but I'm so unsure about Jimmy Graham and like, if he's worth honestly to me even a fourth round pick, I'd get him in efficiency value. But I see a lot of people taking a third or second round and I just don't feel he has that value anymore. So I'm curious, would you take Kelce over Jimmy Graham number one and number two, what kind of value could you get out of Jimmy Graham that he's worth?
Mike Wright
First three or four round pick?
D
Thanks, fellas.
Andy Holloway
All right, Thoughts on that question? I mean, we talked about.
Mike Wright
I think he was at the airport.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I was gonna say that was a little loud, but we got the question that, you know, the Kelsey Graham question you talked about last week. Graham was your guy that will possibly cost people their fantasy playoffs this year because of where he's going. Not so much that he'll be terrible or anything like that, but the value. And where's he going right now in the third round?
Mike Wright
I think right on the turn about there is where.
Andy Holloway
Second. Third turn. Yeah, yeah. So that's. That's pretty high for a guy that we think will underwhelm a little bit and maybe not be as much of a difference maker if you can get Kelsey in the fifth.
Jason Moore
The reason it's high though isn't just because, oh, that's one round higher. It's because there are still players on the board there that are elite to help your team and it drops off a little quicker. So to me, I still think Jimmy Graham is great value in the fourth. I think that Travis, Kelsey or Graham are worth taking a shot on in the fourth for the positional value it's going to give you versus the other guys that are going in the fourth round. That's where I like their value more. You're just not going to see Jimmy there and sometimes you will see Kelsey in the fifth, so. But if Jimmy dropped to the fourth, I would take him without hesitation. I have him Higher than Kelsey in standard, almost tied in the half point PPR and just behind in ppr.
Mike Wright
How strongly I feel about Kelsey and I don't just want to sound extreme or contrarian. If you give me an option of I can have Travis Kelce in the fifth round or I can have Jimmy Graham in the sixth round. I still take Travis Kelce. I think he's going to be number two. He's going to be a beast, and Jimmy Graham is going to be disappointing.
Andy Holloway
All right, this next question comes in from Nick in Cincinnati, Ohio. He says choose two keepers. Gronkin III, Emmanuel Sanders in the sixth, Le'Veon Bell in the eighth, or DeAndre Hopkins in the 10th. This is a PPR League. 12 team. PPR League. What do you guys think?
Jason Moore
I think I need to get this ready here.
Mike Wright
I don't know.
Jason Moore
Maybe, maybe, maybe. To me, it's an easy question, so I'll go ahead and answer it. First, I think Gronk in the third and Levy on Bell in the eighth is a home run.
Andy Holloway
I'm actually Lev Bell on the 8th, DeAndre Hopkins in the 10th.
Jason Moore
All right, well, no, no. Unanimous.
Mike Wright
I am Lev. Lev Bell is not happening for me in the eighth.
Andy Holloway
That's a joke. Okay, good man. You.
Mike Wright
Come on.
Andy Holloway
Scared me.
Mike Wright
Come on.
Andy Holloway
All right, so who's your second guy? We know, we know. Love Bell's in there, Gronk. All right. Yeah. I don't blame you for that. Matt from Massachusetts wants to know. He said dear axe smash and Mr. Fuji.
Mike Wright
What?
Andy Holloway
I have to Google that. Yeah, two part question. I am in a 12 team PPR league where we keep three, and those three represent our first three picks. Okay. I've already decided on keeping Andrew Luck as one of them. I have the ability to trade away Jeremy hill and my third overall pick for Calvin in the 13th overall pick. Am I crazy? With that said, I have to keep one more from the following. Carlos Hyde, Mark Ingram, Latavius Murray, Jordan Matthews, or Brandon Marshall. I kind of forgot it was a PBR while I was reading that, which makes the trade less crazy. However, I do not do that deal.
Jason Moore
I am fine with the deal.
Andy Holloway
With the deal.
Jason Moore
I'm fine with the deal. I wouldn't.
Andy Holloway
Did you burp?
Jason Moore
No, it was just kind of like, I don't know, maybe I need some Tums is all. I would. I would not personally take it, but I'm fine with the deal. If you like Calvin, you want him more on a PPR and you're going to upgrade, you know, a whole round in the draft. I'm fine with that. As far as the player to take in a ppr, that's pretty. That's. That's. All of those players other than Brandon Marshall, I think are worthy of the conversation.
Mike Wright
That's Jordan Matthews.
Jason Moore
I would take Jordan Matthews as well. That would be mine.
Andy Holloway
I take Brandon Marshall and fair enough.
Mike Wright
The answer to that question, which I knew I recognized, Mr. Fuji, it was the wrestling team demolition from the old school when it was the wwf when. When things were great.
Jason Moore
So now getting back to this real quick, Andy.
Andy Holloway
No, I don't take randomizer. Okay.
Jason Moore
I was about to.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Because if you. If you do the trade and you have Calvin, there's no way I take.
Jason Moore
Let's say he doesn't take the trade because I want to make you actually speak to this with the running backs on the board. I know you're down on Jordan Matthews and I think that's why you. You might say you.
Andy Holloway
I like Marshall more than Matthew.
Jason Moore
Right.
Andy Holloway
So if I'm taking a wide receiver, I'm taking Marshall over Matthews.
Jason Moore
But would you take Brandon Marshall over?
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Jason Moore
Latavius Murray in a PPR league, I.
Andy Holloway
Take him over Hyde Ingram and Murray.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Andy Holloway
Yep.
Mike Wright
I move. Shocked.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I'm a little shocked.
Andy Holloway
Okay, so who are you putting ahead of Marshall? Okay, let's pretend. Okay. Which of those running backs. You put them all ahead of him in a PPR league?
Mike Wright
Ingram.
Andy Holloway
You put Ingram ahead in a PPR league over Brandon Marshall?
Mike Wright
Yes, I do.
Andy Holloway
You're drunk. All right. Forever from.
Jason Moore
Here's another reason not to take Brandon Marshall because he's.
Andy Holloway
I love Marshall this year, but you'll.
Mike Wright
Be able to draft.
Jason Moore
You'll be able to draft him. I mean, you just look at.
Andy Holloway
Why wouldn't you be able to draft Mark Ingram in a PPR league?
Jason Moore
I'm just saying he's going behind most of those type of guys.
Andy Holloway
I mean, no, I don't think in a PPR league he will not guaranteed. The only of those three wide receivers I consider is Latavius Murray. To me, I mean the running back.
Jason Moore
So Mark Ingram is going 20 spots ahead of Brandon Marshall. Just ADP kaboom.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, but not in a PPR.
Jason Moore
In a PPR kaboom, Ingram is. Yeah, so that's my point. You'll be able to truth. You'll be able to keep one and draft the other later and have better two.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Brandon Marshall's my guy. All right. Trevor, from the middle of nowhere, Ohio.
Mike Wright
I've never heard of that place. Is that real?
Jason Moore
I think that's just the Amish community.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Lot of. Lot of.
Andy Holloway
Hi, Clarence. Victor and Roger. Clarence Thomas, the Supreme Court justice.
Mike Wright
Maybe we're really bad at this game.
Andy Holloway
Well, sorry, you know, give us some softball. Give us some softballs. You know. Hey, need to choose my.
Mike Wright
Jason.
Andy Holloway
Need to choose my third keeper. He's keeping Gronk and Forte already. He can choose from Tannehill, Gio, Joy and Charles Johnson. Why are you laughing?
Mike Wright
Because your answer has to be Joy. Yeah. Keep going. You hear that?
Andy Holloway
You hear that coming?
Jason Moore
That's the joy. The joy.
Mike Wright
Jalopy is pulled up.
Jason Moore
Love it. Lumber on board. All right, this is a tough one.
Andy Holloway
He said normally would keep about thinking a QB that high. It is a 16 team league. Half point PPR. Majority of teams tend to keep a quarterback. If the majority of teams tend to keep a quarterback, I love that for you not keeping a quarterback because you will get them at an extraordinary value compared to the teams that already have them. So I do not keep. Don't try to pick Tannehill, Mike.
Mike Wright
No, it's 16 teams, though.
Andy Holloway
I know, but you have Flacco, Eli Cutler, Dalton, Bridgewater, Palmer, all the rookies. They're in the drafts already. So I keep Joy.
Mike Wright
Was this. If this is. Oh, it's a half point ppr. Oh, man. In half point ppr.
Andy Holloway
Plant your flag. Plant it.
Mike Wright
Probably Geo.
Andy Holloway
What are you looking up, Jason?
Jason Moore
I'm trying to find some deal breaker here. On. On somebody. I don't like keeping Geo. I don't like Joy. I don't like keeping.
Mike Wright
I think I might keep Tannehill. I might keep Tannehill.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that is. That is my answer. Because in a 16 team, the disparity between the first and last becomes a little bit different.
Andy Holloway
It strengthens the value, Dalton.
Jason Moore
Yeah, but it strengthens the point differential in quarterbacks, so it's a little bit more valuable.
Andy Holloway
So I would. You guys are haters. All right, we just need a unanimous for the mailbag.
Mike Wright
I will take all three who are not Joy Bell.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, of course you will. All right, we're moving on from the Joy disaster. You guys can. You know what's. Like I said, the best thing about speculating about these guys is that time answers all these questions and I will accept you two bowing down and taking. You know how old Drake is spinning the water wheel. He's not that old.
Jason Moore
No, I have no idea.
Mike Wright
He'll be 29.
Andy Holloway
He will be 29. Everyone will be 29.
Mike Wright
No, until they are. He'll be 29 when the season starts.
Andy Holloway
Hey, do not miss our next show on Tuesday. That's old PPR. Shut your mouth. PPR live draft coming fantasydraftwizard.com if you want to jump on there beforehand, run through a few, maybe run through a few PPR drafts on fantasydraftwizard.com to see what you do and then compare that to what we do during the live mock draft show on Tuesday. Any other closing thoughts that aren't related to Joy Bell? Jason, let's turn to you.
Jason Moore
Sure. I just see the latest news is the Lions aren't sure if Joy Bell will be in shape by training camp.
Andy Holloway
So you guys. That's what I meant.
Mike Wright
What's the classic Ron Wolfleyism of list? If you need. If you need two, I'll give you two.
Andy Holloway
Joy.
Mike Wright
If you need four, I'll give you two.
Andy Holloway
If you. Right. If you need a place to say joy, my house is open. I've got a room for you. Come on in. Bring that, bring that slow train my way.
Mike Wright
Goodbye.
