Andy Holloway
Oh, it's Friday. It is Friday, December 4th. Hey, doesn't it feel like a hail? Merry Friday.
Mike Wright
Oh. Oh my.
Andy Holloway
You say your Hail Marys.
Mike Wright
Oh, my.
Andy Holloway
That was something. That was something.
Mike Wright
What a game. What a game. What a finish.
Andy Holloway
Richard, Aaron, the Rogers combined.
Mike Wright
Rogers to Rogers.
Andy Holloway
It's unbelievable.
Mike Wright
It's a law firm and we didn't get watered. Oh, yeah, that's. I feel like I'm the only. I'm the last man standing over here with a full voice.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, we.
Mike Wright
You guys are playing.
Andy Holloway
We did play a little flag football last night. I don't know if they had anything to do with it. It was pretty cold outside.
Jason Moore
As soon as it drops below about 90 degrees, everyone gets sick.
Andy Holloway
But yeah, we're not resilient in Arizona to the cold.
Mike Wright
The fantasy footballers are never scared to double down. So we doubled down with Foot Clan Mike on a Lions vs packers bet.
Jason Moore
Clearly it was super smart.
Mike Wright
And man, that looks so long for. For literally 60 minutes. That looked like a terrible choice.
Jason Moore
Is there anybody listening that doesn't know what happened at the end of that game? Do you think?
Mike Wright
Spoiler alert.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, the packers won the game. They're down 20 to nothing at halftime. And I actually, I don't know if it's 20 nothing at halftime, but they're. They're down at 20, 20 to nothing at one point. I know. They had no points at halftime and the game was all but over. In fact, they had gotten to the point where Rodgers was so far away from the end zone that he could not hail Marriott. So they. They threw underneath and played the lateral game, which somehow the ball got thrown all the way back to Rogers and he got face masked asterisks, which I said before the. I don't blame the refs at all for making that call. It got hit in the face. It wasn't really a grab, but whatever. Then he got one more play. The Lions put in all their shortest guys and then Rogers threw it 61 yards in the air for the longest Hail Mary touchdown catch by Richard Rogers since night. I mean, longest one, I think completed since 1983 is what I heard it was. And the incredible.
Mike Wright
The whole entire play, the throw was just ridiculous. I mean first off that you can even throw a football that far to.
Andy Holloway
Start, it's so high.
Mike Wright
And then you add in the arc of that football to come down perfectly, perfectly in the end zone. And Richard Rodgers just squaring up and no one contesting the catch at all.
Jason Moore
And Aaron Rodgers on his birthday. I mean what a birthday present.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, that was a gift.
Mike Wright
Felt like a gift to me because I'm so dry.
Jason Moore
And my favorite part of the bet. My favorite part. And I do apologize to all of our lovely Lions fans out there. That was a. Just a heartbreaking.
Andy Holloway
I don't think they're bad.
Mike Wright
No, not bad.
Jason Moore
I agree.
Andy Holloway
They've lost two ridiculous end of games.
Jason Moore
But when that, when he, when Richard Rogers came down with that touchdown. My favorite part of the game, as we were, we were watching going why? You know, we're screaming, we don't, we don't have any horses in the race other than this water bet. But then the camera immediately switches to all of the Lions fans faces and it's like it's video but it's like it's a photo because nothing is moving. Everyone's face is just in utter shock.
Mike Wright
Here's the problem that I have with the Lions on towards the end of the game. You can't run the ball. This is. Yeah, you did a little bit better this, this game. I think they had over 100 yards on the ground which was much more than.
Andy Holloway
Well, it wasn't Joy Bell, he had five.
Mike Wright
Well, because Joy Bell and because Joy bell lost about 10 yards on that final drive where they're just said, okay, we're going to run it out. We're going to try and defense just try and win the game.
Andy Holloway
Oh, I could not disagree with you more. You are completely wrong. You are wrong. Because they threw. They threw and got a big first down. At that point you have to take the time off the clock. They basically won the game. You can't. That is so ridiculous. Yeah, I think that is the stupidest thing I've heard you say on the show because they. You're telling me that they had to do a 61 yard Hail Mary. They played it perfectly. They had Rodgers down. They didn't even face mask him. Now it's revisionist history.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Andy Holloway
It's saying, okay, they lost on a Hail Mary so they're stupid and no, they lost on a Hail Mary. On that play. They might have been stupid but they Weren't stupid in the way they ran it. They threw the ball on third down and got a big first down to win the game.
Jason Moore
Let me ask you this.
Mike Wright
I threw a slant to Calvin Johnson.
Andy Holloway
Where they did throw the ball.
Mike Wright
I continued to do it.
Andy Holloway
I continue. Don't.
Mike Wright
Yes, I do.
Andy Holloway
And guess what? When it's incomplete and. And you give Aaron Rodgers a minute and a half to come down and win the game, you're an idiot then.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I agree. I think Andy's right here. But I have a question. Were they right to give it to Joyk?
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Jason Moore
Over. Over Abdullah? Yes.
Mike Wright
Yeah, actually, I would agree. Abdullah's had fumbling problems. You can't give it to ability to burn the clock up.
Andy Holloway
Believe it or not, this is a fantasy football show and we are. We are missing the main point. Shame.
Mike Wright
Shame.
Andy Holloway
Eddie.
Mike Wright
Shame.
Andy Holloway
Lacey, we are ringing the bell of shame for you, my friend. Three times.
Jason Moore
Take that walk. Take that long walk.
Andy Holloway
So, Mike, Mike, I'm gonna let you speak on Eddie Lacy because you were in the Twitter sphere absorbing the massive tilt that was taking.
Mike Wright
Yeah. So the, the game starts and it's. It's James Starks. Well, the, the first thing that was strange was I was watching the pre game and they're going through the teams and James Starks is the starter and I thought, well, that's kind of weird that they're. They're previewing him in this. These sweet, cool, graphic intros of James Starks as a starter. Okay, well, I expect to see Eddie Lacy. No, then we saw. We saw James Starks for an entire, entire run and then they had to punt the ball because James Starks is. Okay. Then they get the ball back and there's still no Eddie Lacy and no one has any idea what is going on. Nobody. Nobody had any idea. Finally, Lacy gets. Gets in. Doesn't do a whole. Doesn't do a whole lot. He actually kind of bobbled as he was running. He didn't fumble and then he basically didn't see the field again, including a James Starks fumble that miraculously turned into a Green Bay touchdown. And so at that point, you think, okay, let's get this, this garbage out of the way. Let's get Lacy back on the field. Nope. Nope. We're going to put an undrafted free agent rookie running back in this game that we need to win in. Our offense is doing nothing, so we need a spark. We're going to go to this unproven guy instead of Eddie Lacy, who's been a monster for. For two seasons now.
Andy Holloway
I'M certainly happy that there's another Crockett in the NFL for Jason's sake because couldn't agree more. Honestly. One wasn't enough for you need a.
Jason Moore
Lot of Betty Crockett.
Andy Holloway
That being said, let me give you a little. Here's what it's like to be a Lacey owner. 5 for 10 negative 0.5 is what he scored against Carolina. 13.3, 21.6 last night, 1.1. He was look, and this is a play in to win game. We're with you Foot clan. If that hurt. We're with you on the complete and utter lack of knowledge. Nobody knew anything until you're halfway through the game. What did you say right before the show?
Mike Wright
So about in the third quarter or so, there was an on field reporter and she reports the Eddie Lacy not being on the field is not injury related. And then Nance on the broadcast is like, oh, it's a doghouse situation. You know, we kind of had a, an inkling of this yesterday in the, in the pregame meetings.
Jason Moore
What Somebody want to let us know what something you could have told us 15 minutes ago?
Mike Wright
Green Bay beat reporters. Where were you? Where There was nothing. There was, there was not a single ounce that I had come across. Maybe in the darknet there was something going on that, that people were spreading rumors about, but I heard literally nothing about this. And I was trying to figure out was it because of the. Eddie Lacy kind of got benched last week because of a fumble. And it's just you can't, you cannot bench a guy like Eddie Lacy and then just try and throw him, throw him in here and there. That's not how it works. I mean, I have no idea what happened in the practice that put him in this situation of the doghouse.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. That's all I heard last night was maybe there were some, there were pract issues and.
Mike Wright
But you just, I feel like it's common knowledge in a running back like Eddie Lacy, it takes an entire game. You let him wear the defense down and then towards the second half is when things start opening up. That's for a power back. That's how it works.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
You can't just say, okay, here's three carries. Oh, you didn't do anything. Okay, get off the field.
Jason Moore
I'm surprised he got three carries. It was seems like a game or five or four. It seems like a game where they're saying, hey, you're sitting down because of whatever happened this week. I'm surprised. I said, but to play a little.
Andy Holloway
Bit that Happens a lot. Guys get doghouse for the first drive or the second drive, then they come in, they produce. Maybe he wasn't doing what they wanted to do and he did come in and that was the reason. I don't know. I don't think you could have read into a practice squad running back signing to the main team and said Lacey was in the doghouse, but this is brutal. Yeah, I mean, you can't cracking your team.
Jason Moore
You can't start Lacey going.
Andy Holloway
It's ridiculous.
Mike Wright
So can you. Can we even start Eddie Lacey?
Andy Holloway
That's a quick question. Can you start Eddie Lacey rest of the season?
Jason Moore
No, not until he proves back to back games, which there's not enough time left for that. I mean, if he comes out next week, gets the complete lion's share, then maybe you could start.
Andy Holloway
There is so much poop in those big boy pants, I don't even know what to do with it. All right. I didn't even tell everybody what we're doing on the show today. I mean, I think because there was too much, you probably know. But we've got the rest of the fantasy forecast. We've got some news. We'll give you our in and out segment based basically catching up on injuries. And we've got a mailbag. We're going to answer some listener questions on the show today. Some of the things you're facing. I think every question we've received all week in every context has begun with the words, if I win, I'm in the playoffs. No pressure, people. Yep, no pressure. Start editing Lacy. You can follow us on twitter@the ffballers. You can visit the website the fantasy footballers.com and see our rankings for this week. If you have your own questions, you need a quick start answer between a couple running backs, you can see where we have them ranked where Jason, Mike and myself have them individually ranked. If you know you like one of us better.
Mike Wright
And when, when you see my ranking of Eddie Lacy for I had him at number three that I just meant he was going to get three yards.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. That's how our rankings work.
Mike Wright
I apologize if there was confusion.
Andy Holloway
Odell Beckham Jr. I have him down for one yard this one yard this week. So. Okay, let's go and get into the news.
Jason Moore
News and notes from around the league.
Andy Holloway
There's so much polarizing events that took place, you know, last night. So many extreme emotions right between Lacy and the Hail Mary and Aaron Rodgers. I mean, he was at a great.
Jason Moore
Fantasy day at the end of it.
Andy Holloway
Oh, and Jason and I are Playing in that league where I need to win by like 37 to get the bye week from him. And I had Richard Rogers in my tight end selection list and it just.
Jason Moore
Vance McDonald.
Andy Holloway
I went with Vance McDonald. So very happy about that. We'll see how that goes. So, yeah, we said it. Eddie Lacy rushed five for four yards. We gave you the kind of the. We're not starting him going forward unless we have to. I mean, he has upside, but it's hidden with all that downside. All right. Carlos Williams missed practice again on Friday. Don't think he's going to play?
Mike Wright
No, I don't think he's going to play. And that's. That's just more a note of bigger boost to LaShawn McCoy.
Andy Holloway
Now, some news came out yesterday. We've seen this type of thing from different teams throughout the year with different players, but Ron Rivera said he'll look for chances to spell Jonathan Stewart during the Panthers stretch run. We know he's had about seven straight weeks with 20 plus carries. I think this will happen in blowout games. I think Tolbert will see the field and blowout games more than he is right now. How worried would you be as a steward owner?
Mike Wright
I mean, if it's, if it's a blowout game, then they've put points on the, on the board and Jonathan Stewart has likely done work. So I'm, I'm not going to be concerned about it.
Andy Holloway
We do need to remember that the Cardinals are competing for that and any other team in that range but the Cardinals.
Mike Wright
The Cardinals, The Vikings and the Packers.
Andy Holloway
Right now, the Vikings and Packers are both at. Are the.
Mike Wright
Both at eight, eight, four? Yeah, I guess the packers are. Packers are at eight wins now and the Vikings could get to nine.
Andy Holloway
Yep. So they're. They're all close. If the Panthers were to lose a game, they would be playing to maintain home field throughout the playoffs.
Mike Wright
Yep.
Andy Holloway
Okay. And then Nick Foles is going to play quarterback again this week.
Mike Wright
Well.
Jason Moore
In the National Football League nonetheless.
Mike Wright
Can you call it that?
Andy Holloway
No. Nope. No, you cannot. All right, let's go ahead. And he's going to take snaps. Let's play in and out here.
Mike Wright
What's it going to be? Me Fly.
Andy Holloway
Are you in? All right, Jason. Big Ben. Is he playing?
Mike Wright
He's playing.
Jason Moore
He's practicing in full. He's cleared. He's a go.
Andy Holloway
All right, Mike Case Keenum's the guy that Benef is not playing, Correct? Sorry. Yeah. I was gonna say he benefits from Nick Foles being out. We would all benefit from Nick Foles being all right. Sorry, Nick. Yeah, it's. You know, I don't feel that bad because he went to U of A, too, so. I mean, I'm an asu. I'm an ASU guy, so. Nick Foles, you can just. Don't even worry about it. All right? Jason's laughing. Running back Carlos Williams, out.
Jason Moore
Out.
Andy Holloway
Char west in.
Jason Moore
Yep. He's practicing in full.
Andy Holloway
Devonta Freeman, in.
Jason Moore
In.
Andy Holloway
Ryan Matthews, out. Andre Ellington, out. Danny Amendola at the wide receiver position, in.
Mike Wright
I think he's only limited right now, so you do need to monitor it, but I believe he's going to play.
Andy Holloway
All right. Cardinals wide receivers John Brown and Michael Floyd in.
Jason Moore
Limited on Thursday, but they'll be in. They played last week and had no setbacks.
Mike Wright
Willie Snead have to think he's going to play.
Jason Moore
I see. I'm not. You do?
Mike Wright
I do.
Jason Moore
I think he's maybe not going to play, but I will say this. The last time he missed this many practices and then played, he stunk. He put up a goose egg. So for me, for me, Willie Snead might be in on the lineup, but I'm afraid to play him.
Mike Wright
If he doesn't practice today, then he's out.
Andy Holloway
Alan Hearns out.
Jason Moore
You know, the news is if he gets cleared on concussion protocol and misses every second of practice, he's going to play. That's what they said. So just monitor it, because I'm telling.
Mike Wright
You, throwing him out.
Jason Moore
Yeah, absolutely. He's missed practice every single week and been great. So I'm just saying, if he's not dead, I feel like there's an inkling he could play. And really, he almost died, so, you know, he needs.
Mike Wright
Mr. Miyagi Station.
Andy Holloway
Richard Matthews out.
Jason Moore
Broken ribs. Yuck.
Andy Holloway
Nelson Aguilar, everyone's favorite Philadelphia Eagle. It sounds like he's for those deeper leagues.
Mike Wright
He's going to play again.
Andy Holloway
Those deep, deep leagues, rookie leagues. All right, tight ends, Tyler Ifert.
Mike Wright
I'm looking at his info to see if there's anything on him, anything updated. Not practicing Thursday. You better, if you're an IFRT owner. You're really hoping he practices today?
Jason Moore
Maybe pick up Richard Rogers.
Andy Holloway
But he's.
Mike Wright
He's looking.
Jason Moore
He's really good.
Andy Holloway
Or Vance McDonald or Zach Miller or some other options at this point.
Mike Wright
You need to. You need to consider Ifert. Highly doubtful.
Jason Moore
Yeah. You have to have someone on your roster.
Andy Holloway
Heath Miller.
Mike Wright
Man, what was the last. I haven't heard that. I'll verify him as well. Heath Miller. Because he got knocked out of the game on Sunday. So let's, let's see what we got going on for Heath Miller. He remains sidelined, so he's the same thing. I'm going to go with highly doubtful.
Andy Holloway
All right. Rob Gronkowski is not showing up in ESPN leagues as out. We know he's 99.9% out. Is that correct?
Mike Wright
Classic.
Jason Moore
Yeah. This is just Bill Belichick. Bill Belichick is never going to. I mean, he just doesn't rule people out or in through the week. So it's going to be annoying for Gronk owners. If you've got that IR spot, he's not going to be able to use it.
Mike Wright
Although last week they were very kind with Danny Amendola owners and I got to move him to out on a Saturday.
Jason Moore
There was, there's been a early, a.
Andy Holloway
Fair amount of transparency with Gronkowski. It's kind of like they came out and they were transparent with the injury and the fact it's week to week and that we're going to mess with you every week. I mean, they're very transparent with their intentions now, like when you, they like structured it. When you say week to week, that means we can take it up to game time week to week and make you prepare for that.
Jason Moore
I want Bill Belichick to just talk in the third person and be like, I'm Bill Belichick.
Mike Wright
You're not going to know saying I'm Bill Belichick. Is that really third person?
Jason Moore
If he was saying it?
Mike Wright
Yeah, you have to refer.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you're right.
Mike Wright
You just say Bill Belichick. Just say Bill Belichick. Doesn't do that.
Jason Moore
There you go. Thank you for the correction.
Mike Wright
I'm a master of third person.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Mike Wright
So before we get to our fantasy forecast, we want to take a moment to thank our sponsor of the day, Tops and the Huddle. The Tops Huddle app. Look, we've talked about this several times on the show because we love it. Our fans love it. It's all about collecting those cards. You remember when you were collecting those cards when you were a wee lad or a wee lad, you collecting those cards at the garage sales. 1859 Peppered farm, remember, was fantastic. Look, now we've got that in the future. Now there's no more creasing the cards, no more bending the corners, having to punch your friend in the face because they ruined your, your rookie cards, Michael Jordan, because now they are all digital and they are licensed by the nflpa. Fantastic stuff by Topps. And look, this isn't Just an app about collecting cards. You can trade them and you can play them in a real time daily fantasy style game based on how the players perform. Download it for free in the App Store or Google play and get 10 free packs today. That's the Topps Huddle app.
Jason Moore
Fantasy forecast.
Andy Holloway
All right. Prepare yourself and do it by putting the Cardinals defense in your lineup.
Mike Wright
That would be a wise maneuver.
Andy Holloway
The Cardinals are heading to St. Louis to take on the Rams.
Mike Wright
Take on Todd Gurley.
Andy Holloway
Take on Todd Gurley.
Mike Wright
It's the Cardinals versus Todd Gurley.
Andy Holloway
We saw that Todd Gurley is not invulnerable.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Last week with Nick Foles under center and now the Cardinals go and they face Nick Foles. The Rams are averaging about 188 yards through the air this year. This is not good.
Mike Wright
And so for Todd Gurley owners, the Cardinals, that was when the Todd Gurley explosion happened. Just to kind of remind everybody, 146.
Jason Moore
Yard breakout game against the Cardinals.
Mike Wright
Now we also must remind people that it was almost all in the fourth quarter where through the first half he had I think two or three yards. It was bad. And then he, he opened it up. But like I was talking about with Eddie Lacy, that's what you. That's the kind of game you need from Todd Gurley. You got to commit to it all the entire game. So are you scared of playing Gurley this week?
Andy Holloway
Am I scared? No. I'm the same attitude I am with a top flight running back that has a bad matchup. He's out there. I mean, he's going to play for me no matter what because of the potential and because of his track record. Right. He had. Last week was the first game that he hasn't produced.
Mike Wright
So is there anyone you would bench him for? I mean, how.
Andy Holloway
Bench him for. No, no. There's no situation I would bench because he's not my two in any situation, I think where I'm benching him for somebody.
Jason Moore
He's very similar this week to Mark Ingram in the sense that you've got a guy who's been producing week in and week out with a terrible matchup. But. But then again, I mean, you saw Todd Gurley run on the Cardinals, so I'm not too worried you know, a lot of people are worried. Teams are stacking the box more and more against Gurley.
Mike Wright
There's going to be 10 guys in the box this week.
Jason Moore
Yeah, but the Cardinals are the type of team. The one thing I would say is their run D, which is very good. It does seem to get worn down by this type of runners, so.
Mike Wright
And especially guys who run to the.
Andy Holloway
Outside because Gurley has in this game, you know, the Vegas line on this game is six now it's a six point line. It's in St. Louis. You know, they're not putting this at a 10, 11 point line. The game's going to be closer. The St. Louis defense is not bad. It's a divisional game. We saw this last week of the Cardinals and the Rams. There'll be holes for Gurley. He'll find his way, especially if he catches some passes because the Cardinals can't guard that.
Mike Wright
Okay, so what about Fitzgerald is. He's a start. Palmer is a start. Michael Floyd, John Brown is. Do you guys have any feelings of going with one or the other or they both sitting down?
Andy Holloway
I would play John Brown over Michael over Floyd. I would, I'd temper expectations with both, but I would have no problem starting Brown as the three. I can check to see where we have him exactly on the rankings consensus wise. But do you guys have any thoughts on Floyd or Brown or who you prefer?
Jason Moore
I think I actually prefer Michael Floyd only from the standpoint of when the Cardinals go up against a very good past defense, they tend to take bigger shots. So, you know, if you want more of a boom game. You saw that right in Seattle. Seattle, the Seattle game. Michael Floyd, you know, against that good defense they went with the taller, you know, you know, stronger.
Mike Wright
John Brown was still a bit banged up during that game.
Jason Moore
True.
Andy Holloway
We have them back to back in our rankings. They're 29 or 28 and 29. 29 and 30. There you go, 29 and 30. And none of us really has different opinions. Jason has them both a little bit higher. Jason has them at the back end of a wide receiver too, which is interesting to have them there. But I think one will end up there. I think one of these guys is going to end up as a two this week. So I don't mind that. It's just picking which one is going to be difficult. The Cardinals defense is a great start. We know that. Is there anybody from. I mean, Tavon Austin had a good bounce back game. He's picking them up on these end arounds and the rushing attempts. Do you start John Brown or Tavon Austin, you are.
Mike Wright
You are flying with the flimsiest of flight machines when you throw Tavon Austin in your lineup. So I'm not.
Jason Moore
Yeah. If the question is Brown versus Austin, it's definitely going to be Brown.
Mike Wright
There's just, there's. It's Todd Gurley or bust for, for the Rams. For me.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. We do not have Austin ranked very high. Anything else from this game?
Mike Wright
Nope.
Andy Holloway
Running back situation. We know the Cardinals.
Mike Wright
Oh, what are we doing?
Andy Holloway
What are we doing? Stay there until we need to move on.
Jason Moore
Who are we talking about? David Johnson back? Oh, yeah.
Andy Holloway
Into the limelight. Every expectation that I have is that, you know you're going to see a pretty good game from David Johnson because the workload, involvement in the passing game. I do expect there to be a very similar situation to what we saw with Buck Allen on Monday Night Football where the rookies being involved, but they're going to involve Stefan Taylor, they're going to involve somebody else in the backfield.
Mike Wright
It's Kerwin. Kerwin Williams got brought back up.
Andy Holloway
Yep.
Mike Wright
Yes, I. But I expect David Johnson, unless he makes an egregious mistake, he will be the guy and he just his opportunity to score. You got to put it very high, like at least a 50% chance to get in the end zone. So he's very solid play with. With a massive ceiling.
Andy Holloway
All right. The Falcons head to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers. And the Falcons are in a tailspin and the Buccaneers are favored in this matchup. This is the Matt Ryan, Jameis Winston extravaganza. Winston has been playing a lot better. He's offered fantasy owners in deeper leagues, two quarterback leagues, a very nice baseline, including five touchdown game a couple weeks ago. Matt Ryan is going the wrong direction in zone interceptions as opposed to end zone touchdowns.
Jason Moore
Who would you rather have between those two guys? You're going to start Matt Ryan over Winston?
Mike Wright
Yeah, I'm still. I'm going to start Matt Ryan just because of Julio. I see Julio Jones having a magnifique game.
Andy Holloway
Anybody want. Anybody want to bet me? Matt Ryan versus Winston. I take Winston.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I'll take that. I'll take Matt Ryan on.
Andy Holloway
You just said that. You and Mike too. Yeah.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Andy Holloway
Two.
Mike Wright
Two on one.
Andy Holloway
Two on one.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Andy Holloway
I'll take Jameis.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I do. I do like James talent. But the problem is, while Atlanta has proven to be what I think we said for a long time, which is more of a sham than their beginning record showed, they still do have a very good Past defense, I think. I think you're going to see Doug Martin having a better game and, you know, so Vincent Jackson, I think is. Is okay. I have Mike Evans in our league of record. I'm a little bit scared. I think the last time they played the Falcons, he ended up with three catches for 40 yards. Somewhere around that. So, you know, it's a little worrisome to me to see how Winston operates against that cover 3D.
Andy Holloway
I just don't think the Falcons defense can hold up long term. I think we've seen the breakdown of the offensive side of the ball. I think I heard a stat that, you know, the Falcons aren't taking deep shots. That's one of the problems, believe it or not. I think Matt Ryan is like fourth in the league in completing those passes, but they're like 14th in attempts. So, like they have the fourth most completions, but they're just not taking those deep shots, which hurts Julio owners. His touchdown receptions have been super low over the last seven weeks, which obviously you're starting Julio. That's not in debate here. I start Mike Evans. The questions become, do you start Vincent Jackson? Where would he fit in the Bucks? Like you said, they rushed the ball. Well, I think you said Doug Martin, right?
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Doug Martin, I think is going to be good. Let me give you a couple stats here against the quarterback for the Falcons because they started the year off giving up plenty of points, plenty of yards. Now, the last half of the year, how have the Falcons been playing? Good or bad?
Mike Wright
Bad.
Jason Moore
Bad, Right.
Mike Wright
They don't lose games as a team. They've been bad. Yeah, Sorry, Falcons.
Jason Moore
Sorry, sorry. But here's at that same time, while they have been losing games, their defense, this is the yards they've given up through the air in the last five games. 174, 213. Spoiler alert. That's the high. The high is 200.
Mike Wright
I like that. You warned me or you gave me a spoiler alert on this.
Jason Moore
Yeah, 185. 177. 187. So this is where I don't see Jameis Winston having a huge game. I don't see really Evans or Jackson having a huge game. One of them is probably going to catch a touchdown. It's, you know, it's playing craps to decide who's going to do it. You probably only have one on your team, so if you want to roll them out, you can. But I would prefer to stick with the running game here for Tampa Bay.
Mike Wright
Yeah, we know that the bucks, they're averaging 141 yards on the ground. That's third in the league, which is a tremendous pace. And so I love Doug Martin this week, and I just. Jacob Tammy is a sneaky start. He's had a couple of good games, and one of his good games was against Tampa Bay. Now, we do say that whatever has happened can happen in reverse.
Andy Holloway
One of our most wise. Wise sayings. Whoever said that is really bright.
Mike Wright
So I'm not guaranteeing that, but he's just.
Andy Holloway
If you're an IFRT owner and you need to handcuff.
Mike Wright
Yeah. You sure?
Jason Moore
Yeah. You could.
Mike Wright
You could do worse than.
Jason Moore
You know. Speaking of that. And I've really been following the news. This is not probably worthy of a breaking news, but Austin Severian Jenkins has been practicing and is not cleared to play. So by next season, he might be practicing in full. He's only been able to practice for about two months now.
Andy Holloway
Did you realize? Actually, I found this out. This entire time, he's been practicing chess. He's. He's been learning how to play chess.
Jason Moore
He really.
Andy Holloway
He had nothing to do with football.
Jason Moore
Yeah. So, you know, deeper league. League where you get, you know, points for benched guys.
Andy Holloway
I do have a little bit of breaking news. I just. I just checked. Well, no, it's not quite in that category. This is more, you know, very good information for the Lacy owners. Lacy came out and said this when they interviewed him. I don't feel as though that's something I should get into yet. When asked about his roles being scaled back.
Jason Moore
When I heard that. When I heard that, the first thing that went through my head was like, was there something outside of practice, like. Like, is there a suspension coming, or.
Andy Holloway
Well, I mean, he said, Eddie didn't have a great week, so we went with James. That is another, you know, aka something.
Mike Wright
There was a pie, and McCarthy and Lacy were going in.
Andy Holloway
Oh, my goodness.
Mike Wright
And Lacy took the last piece.
Jason Moore
That's just rude, Eddie.
Andy Holloway
I have different directions I could go with this. I'm going to choose the high road. I'm gonna head back to the game previews. Oh, I'm not gonna go anywhere near Andy Reid.
Mike Wright
All right, Andy.
Andy Holloway
Broncos. And.
Jason Moore
Well, I actually have legitimate breaking news.
Mike Wright
Hit the button.
Jason Moore
We got it. Breaking news. Alan Hearns officially ruled out. He's. He's now.
Andy Holloway
Sorry, Jason.
Jason Moore
I know, I know. I thought he was gonna do it.
Mike Wright
So he's officially ruled out. I still give him a 25% chance to play.
Jason Moore
Yeah, exactly. All right, Go on.
Andy Holloway
All right, we're moving on. Denver heads to San Diego in my.
Jason Moore
Andy's almost upset of the week. Wow.
Andy Holloway
Go ahead and put Brock Osweiler on the road against the team that can score some points if need be. And you've got my almost upset of the week. The Chargers are four point underdogs at home. Not a guarantee here, but I think it can happen. It's really going to depend on what the defense for the football Chargers can do. I think it's possible that they upset the Broncos at home in this matchup because of the offensive production from the Denver side. I'm not, you know, some people have written in and they said. Someone wrote in and they said they had, you know, Oswiler and, you know, Foals or something as their quarterback options this week. I'm like, no, there's got to be somebody else that you have Osweilers. Not like they picked up Osweiler because he was a new name is what I'm saying. And Osweiler, just so you understand, is not somebody that we're recommending in any real context for fantasy football because of the formation of the offense and the numbers involved in the running game and what they're doing with Oswald.
Mike Wright
I will say this 10 out of 10 times. I'm going to recommend Brock Costweiler over Nick Foltz.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that's. That's legit.
Andy Holloway
I agree. I'm going to recommend Cecil Schwartz at quarterback over Nick Foles.
Jason Moore
That's funny. What Brock Osweiler does do well for the offense, though, is he changes the running game for Denver. And what San Diego does not do well is play defense against the running game. So this is why I believe CJ Anderson is your start of the week. Is that correct?
Mike Wright
You're darn tooting it is.
Jason Moore
You want to hear what C.J. anderson's game's difference with Brock Osweiler under.
Mike Wright
Center versus Peyton Manning.
Jason Moore
Versus Peyton Manning under center.
Mike Wright
I would love to hear that.
Jason Moore
Well, in an average scoring system with Peyton Manning, 6.3 fantasy points per game.
Mike Wright
Okay, that sounds like the first round bus that we drafted.
Jason Moore
Yeah, it's not good with Brock Osweiler 18.75 fantasy points a game. So, I mean, he had more touchdowns. Obviously, that's in it. Small sample size, two games. But when you watch, you could see that the running game. And this is true for Hillman, too. I'm not completely on CJ Anderson as the guy. I think it comes down to the to the carry splits. And if C.J. ends up getting 60% of the carries, I think he's going to have a really Good game. I'm curious how the carries break off, but I do think Hillman and C.J. the con, the combination, whoever gets the ball for Denver is going to run well against San Diego.
Mike Wright
Here was. Here's not.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. The only thing I'll say about that, there's not a situation where that's guaranteed to happen where one guy is just going to get the ball. If they straight up split, would you start them both? Is a real good question.
Jason Moore
If they straight up split, I would.
Andy Holloway
Start 15 carries each.
Jason Moore
I would start CJ Anderson happily and I would start Ronnie Hillman unhappily.
Andy Holloway
Really?
Jason Moore
Yeah. I think I'm in because I don't think he's going to have as good a game. I'm saying if they both get 15 carries, which I think is a perfect number, they could both get 15 carries this game. I think C.J. anderson ends the game with a very good fantasy day. And I think Ronnie Hillman ends the game with a serviceable fantasy day.
Mike Wright
And because C.J. anderson with the 15 carries is likely to get three or four catches where Ronnie Hillman might get one.
Andy Holloway
Yep, that's a great point.
Mike Wright
So what, what we're breaking down here is once CJ Anderson started playing with bo, he's been a lot better.
Jason Moore
Like the nickname.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I mean, it kind of makes sense. He smelled like BO for the first half of the season, so it's hard to get back on that. But once he started playing with him, that makes sense. Good analysis. All right. Danny Woodhead kind of back on, you know, a little bit more involved last week, 6 for 39 through the air after a weird one reception week. Do we flex Danny Woodhead?
Mike Wright
Yeah, you flex him. But you. You don't.
Andy Holloway
The Chargers.
Mike Wright
Come on, man, because you know that they're going to run Melvin Gordon into that decent. The Denver defensive front, like 16 times. Yeah, he's going to get about 25 yards.
Jason Moore
I think he'll. I think he'll pick up 28 yards. No, he'll pick up.
Andy Holloway
If you want to make a waterbed about 25 yards, I'm happy.
Mike Wright
25 yards is being very hyperbolic.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Jason Moore
Melvin Gordon will do what Melvin Gordon do, which is 16 carries, 58 yards and no touchdowns.
Andy Holloway
You're probably right. I tried to get Jason into a. I was willing to bet Jason that Melvin Gordon would score a touchdown as long as I took one water if he didn't and he took ten if he did.
Jason Moore
That's a little.
Andy Holloway
I'm going to just put it up on the air again.
Jason Moore
I'll give you 3 to 1 odds. 3 cups to 1.
Andy Holloway
How many touchdowns has he scored in the history of his. In the professional career?
Mike Wright
Zero.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
So since he was born, he's had zero touchdowns as an NFL player. Is that what you said?
Mike Wright
10 to 1 odds is on something like that is just ridiculous.
Andy Holloway
10 to 1 touchdown odds even though through 11 games he scored.
Mike Wright
That's a horrific bet.
Andy Holloway
I disagree.
Mike Wright
It's horrific.
Jason Moore
Dude.
Andy Holloway
You're trying to make it, so make.
Mike Wright
It 10 to 10.
Andy Holloway
That's ridiculous. Oh, how that's ridiculous because he hasn't scored. Do you know how odds work, Mike? I do you actually the odds favor the situation, whether it's going to happen or not.
Mike Wright
Right. But 10 to 1 is way off. You know, 3 to 1 is perfect.
Andy Holloway
10 to 1 on whether Gordon.
Mike Wright
I bet you 3 to 1 is perfect. 3 to 1 is perfect. And 10 going 10 to 1 is a coward's way of getting out of the bet. Whatever you would take if you believed in that bet, you'd go through three to one.
Andy Holloway
That's ridiculous. I'm not doing that. What I am going to do is I'm going to curiously take a look at the prop bets for that game and find out what the actual prop bet is for Gordon scoring a touchdown. And then I'll give it to you and then we'll see if. We'll see if Jason has what it takes. Thank you for getting involved though, Mike. We really appreciate that.
Jason Moore
So give me some more context. I'll talk about one of the fascinating points of this game. So what you, what you have here.
Mike Wright
That'S Andy doing, doing work, looking up some problems.
Jason Moore
You have the San Diego Chargers, who are one of the highest passing rate, like they pass the ball non stop. I know that they have been giving Melvin Gordon a decent amount of touches, but they still end up with so much production through the air. And yet you're going up against the number one through the air defense who's been giving it up on the ground. So what?
Mike Wright
They give fantasy points on the ground because yards per game, the Broncos are second.
Jason Moore
Fair. Fair enough, fair enough. Which bodes well for Melvin Gordon getting a touchdown, right? I mean, just history repeats.
Mike Wright
The only thing that Melvin Gordon needs will be a 50 yard pass interference call on Malcolm Floyd. That puts him at the one. And then they run him three times, four times. If they run him four times from the one, he'll score.
Andy Holloway
So you make that point and you don't back up a 10 to 1.
Mike Wright
Bet because 10 to 1 is ridiculous.
Jason Moore
Loves pass interference call. I mean, Andy, you know, I only bet when the odds are ever in my favor.
Andy Holloway
Well, we already have one with Yelden. And does anybody know about that? Because I think we made it on the Patreon mailbag show.
Jason Moore
Yeah, the. The Yelden bet is what sparked this bet. Yelden rushing touchdown. If he gets a rushing touchdown this game, I take three waters. And when he doesn't get a rushing touchdown this game, Andy takes a water. If he gets in through the air, it's a no bet.
Mike Wright
That's perfect. That's a perfect bet.
Andy Holloway
I can't find them.
Mike Wright
So Antonio Gates, we are comfortable starting him. He is Jason's start of the week as a more of a confidence boost saying we believe he can get it done. What about Demarius Thomas versus Emmanuel Sanders? If you're looking at that situation, I.
Andy Holloway
Expect DT to bounce back. I do. I don't know how much they're going to need those guys if this game is going to be run dependent, but I would play. I would play Demarius Thomas over Emmanuel.
Mike Wright
Sanders this week because Sanders had a pretty good rapport going there with Brock Osweiler. I'm looking up the targets.
Jason Moore
Well, we've seen two different names, right? I mean, you obviously had Demarius Thomas get plenty of targets last week. 13 targets.
Mike Wright
He got 13.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he got.
Mike Wright
Oh, that's right. And he.
Jason Moore
And he caught one ball. So it wasn't for a lack of targeting Demaryius Thomas.
Mike Wright
So I got how bad it was.
Jason Moore
Now, if it's just a cold weather thing, obviously San Diego is going to be a great change of weather.
Andy Holloway
What is that condition you have when you smoke a lot? That disease you get?
Mike Wright
Bronchitis?
Andy Holloway
No.
Mike Wright
Oh, oh.
Jason Moore
Tracheotomy.
Mike Wright
No.
Andy Holloway
It's slipping my mind.
Mike Wright
Completely escaping me.
Andy Holloway
It's whatever Jason has. All right, let's go ahead and talk. No, you don't smoke. Emphysema. That's. Yeah, I was looking for.
Mike Wright
Nailed it.
Andy Holloway
All right, what else do we need to talk about from this game? I was looking at prop bets. So tell me, did you talk about Stevie Johnson already?
Mike Wright
No, not yet.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Stevie Johnson's my sit of the week in this game. We've talked about it. How many touchdowns has the Broncos defense given up to the wide receiver position?
Jason Moore
1 on the year, so.
Mike Wright
Okay, well, let me ask you this. If this is your almost upset of the week, and we know that the Chargers cannot score on the ground, how are they scoring if Stevie Johns. If you don't like Stevie Johnson, this Week.
Andy Holloway
I like Antonio Gates. I like field goals. I like Danny Woodhead. I like Melvin Gordon to maybe get in the end zone. I like defensive scores. I'm talking 24 to 20 something in that range, maybe less. I just was 18, 18, 16. Something weird. All right. If we want to move on.
Mike Wright
Yes, please.
Andy Holloway
All right. Chiefs. Chiefs go to Oakland and take on the Raiders. Do you start Derek Carr in this game?
Mike Wright
Man. So the Chiefs defense, the last three weeks they've given up. They're averaging 83 yards allowed on the ground, 217 passing yards and only 1.6 touchdowns per week. Those are, those are not numbers that you want to see at all if you're the Derek Carr owner going into this week. However, Justin Houston, as we have talked about, is a defense changing player. I don't expect the Kansas City Chiefs to just fold with him out of the lineup.
Andy Holloway
He's very light. He's not been declared out, but he's very likely to be out.
Jason Moore
But I mean he was, he was out last week, so he was out.
Andy Holloway
For part of the game last week. And they gave up three touchdowns through the air to Tyrod Taylor and their defense played much worse.
Mike Wright
The situation for the Chiefs does change tremendously if Houston does not play. That said, I would still play Carr regardless of Houston being in or out of the lineup. I know that the defensive numbers are staggering looking at the last three weeks, but Derek Carr has been. Been great. And if he can get protection, which they have a. They have a pretty good pass blocking unit in Oakland. The secondary of the Chiefs can be exploited if you can get time. And with Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree running the routes, I still believe in Derek Carr this week.
Andy Holloway
Derek Carr, Drew Brees. Who would you start Drew Brees at home against Carolina, Derek Carr at home against Kansas City?
Jason Moore
I would play Derek Carr. I think he's got better weapons right now with Sneed injured. I'm not, I'm not.
Andy Holloway
I lean and you are. You have the biggest gap in your rankings where cars that far ahead of Drew Brees. You have Brees very low. So good job.
Mike Wright
I got him back to back.
Andy Holloway
You do.
Mike Wright
How about that?
Andy Holloway
Yeah. So. Okay, let's go ahead and talk about the, the running back position and the ever changing Latavius Murray situation where I think, I think owners feel a level of confidence in Murray that he is the running back but not a level of confidence that he is going to give you something special. We have him at, we have him at 24 as a consensus ranking this week against The Chiefs front, that puts him at the running back to very back end.
Mike Wright
You still start him. Unless you have somehow you have better options at this point, which it's possible with the. All the waiver wire presents that have been given out over the holiday season, which I would start one of those guys like a Buck Allen, David Johnson, Thomas Rawls. I'm going to start all those guys over Latavius Murray this week. But if you got to play him and you got to play him. Yeah.
Jason Moore
One of the nice things about playing Latavius Murray is even when he's not playing well, he only had 28 yards two weeks ago. They come back this last week, and against a decent run D, they gave him the ball 22 times on the ground.
Mike Wright
So how many yards did he get?
Jason Moore
Well, 59. I'm not saying he. That's what I'm saying.
Andy Holloway
He's not running well 20 carries any day.
Jason Moore
It's the opportunity to get there. And he also catches. You know, he's had some games. He normally gets one reception a game, but he's had games with seven and with five and with three. So he can get involved in the passing game, too. So while I don't like his upside, he's not a sexy RB1 type. He is, I think, okay to play here.
Andy Holloway
All right, I'm going to give you some numbers. 3 weeks ago, 3.2 points last week, 4.4 or 2 weeks ago, 4.4 last week, 28.5. Who am I?
Jason Moore
You are a Mari Cooper. No, just kidding.
Mike Wright
Oh, you're. You're the third wide receiver on the Raiders. I can't think of his name.
Andy Holloway
No, no, I am Jeremy Macklin. Oh, I'm Jeremy Macklin. Now. There's a little bit of fade on him. Right. But look at the matchups. Okay. You had at Denver. Right. That's rough at Denver. Nobody's catching passes there. Right now at San Diego, that's.
Mike Wright
That's a very good matchup.
Andy Holloway
Well, and it depends on your perspective because San Diego's given up 130something on the ground every single game on a very conservative offense where you didn't need to do it. You know, they dominated them defensively in that game and they dominated them on the ground in that game. I believe San Diego gave up 11 for 93 to. To wear in that game last week. Kansas City's defense was scored on a little bit and they had to air it out a little bit. And Macklin was 9 for 160 and a touchdown. My point is, is if Justin Houston's off the field and we're talking about Carr as a potential. Okay. Start. You're thinking they're going to put up a few points on Kansas City at home.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
So I think Macklin is. I'd side with him being closer to last week's production than two weeks ago.
Mike Wright
I actually have Macklin ranked higher than you in your face with your dirty cake.
Andy Holloway
Okay, good.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I like Macklin this week shows.
Andy Holloway
That you're able to put our deep personal differences aside and rank based unbiasedly. I mean, just so much respect.
Jason Moore
Yeah. You know, Macklin, you bring up.
Andy Holloway
By the way, I'm going to buy you a jersey of his. We're getting it today.
Jason Moore
You bring up a really, really good point. Point with his matchups because, you know, I hadn't looked deep into each matchup. I do know that he had the 4.4 and the 3.2 and then, you know, a couple weeks before that he only caught three balls. And then a couple weeks before that, only three balls. But all. Every single one of those matchups were actually difficult matchups. So I think I've got him ranked like super low wide receiver, three or four. And I need to change that because he is a safe play here to get four catches and he has upside in this matchup. So.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, yeah, I think he. He's somebody that I'd be really okay starting this week. Now the question is, would you start him over an Amari Cooper?
Mike Wright
No, not Cooper.
Andy Holloway
Where do we have Cooper? We have Cooper Higher. Yeah, by a couple spots. So I have. I like Cooper this week. I like Crabtree as a two back into. We need to. We need to move on because we have four more matchups to get through.
Jason Moore
Wow.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Andy Holloway
The Panthers go to New Orleans take on the Saints. We've talked a little bit about this game on and off all week anyways. We talked about Breeze just now. You're not sitting down Cam Newton in a matchup against a team that. I think they only put 10 guys out on D. I think that's been the issue. They put 10. They put 10 out. That's the problem. Yep. It was a Rob Ryan's strategy. Right now the Saints are giving up 2.7 passing touchdowns. They're terrible on the. You know, they're terrible in the pass game. They're one spot better in the run game. So they're. They're. There's that terrible. We know what the Saints defense is. We know what the Panthers offense is. The Panthers offense has been prolific. So where does the scoring come from is what you want to know.
Jason Moore
Greg Olson.
Andy Holloway
Well, that's. Is that wishful thinking?
Jason Moore
It is both wishful thinking and realistic thinking.
Andy Holloway
Because he's playing me this week.
Jason Moore
Yes, I.
Andy Holloway
Number one tight end now with Rob Gronkowski out, right?
Jason Moore
I mean, as far as who you'd want to play, I agree that's who you'd want to play. But the, you know, against the pass to the quarterback, the 32nd against the run, 31st against tight end, they are the worst team in the league.
Mike Wright
Really?
Jason Moore
Yep, they are the worst.
Mike Wright
I did not realize that changed.
Jason Moore
Hey, tell me this. Who's the great tight end for Houston? Who is that? I can't remember his name, but Houston's tight end last week put up Garrett Graham.
Andy Holloway
Ryan Griffin.
Mike Wright
Oh, Ryan Griffin.
Jason Moore
Six for 92 and a touchdown. The week before, two touchdowns. The week before, three touchdowns. This is not through the air. This is just to the tight end. So that means in the last, you.
Mike Wright
Know, three games, Jordan Reed, Rule 86 dropped a drop some bombs.
Andy Holloway
So there will be blood scores, there will be scores in this game and they're going to come on the Carolina side. It is a divisional matchup, but I am not expecting the Saints to be in it in the end of this game. The Panthers defense is really the reason why they are on fire. That'd be the best way to put it. Stay in the flames with the Panthers defense. Do not fear. No, do not fear. There could be garbage time points. We've seen that a couple times this year. Andrew Luck had a bunch of them. They, you know, teams have come back on Carolina. I'm not, not lately, though. Luke Keakley, defensive player of the year. I mean, defensive player of the week last week, two pick sixes for the Panthers defense. And you know the way that J.J. watt was hitting Drew Brees last week. Yeah. You know that the offensive line is not going to hold up in, in New Orleans. So that brings up the point. Who can you start in New Orleans? Mark Ingram. He's out there just because he.
Mike Wright
Just because of the catches.
Andy Holloway
What about Mr. Cooks? What about Brandon Cooks?
Mike Wright
I would prefer to sit him down if I could.
Jason Moore
I completely agree. He doesn't strike me as a guy like a Julio that I'm going to play against Josh Norman.
Andy Holloway
Who can outsize Josh Norman.
Jason Moore
Exactly.
Andy Holloway
Absolutely. So, all right, we're not going to linger here. You're starting those guys. I'm going to tell you right now, if you're in a deep league, 16 team league, are you starting three running backs. I think. I think Tolbert could get in the end zone in this game real quick.
Jason Moore
The only question I have, because I've had it a lot from people. You have to start.
Andy Holloway
Those are boils. They're boils. They're not bliss.
Jason Moore
I thought they were borders. No, you don't pick.
Andy Holloway
I don't think so.
Jason Moore
Pick a Carolina wide receiver.
Mike Wright
Do you throw a dart?
Andy Holloway
Devin Funches.
Jason Moore
You'd take Devin Funches over again? Over Ginn junior?
Mike Wright
Yeah, Funches.
Jason Moore
I'd probably go again. Junior. Mike. Tiebreake it.
Mike Wright
Kotchery.
Jason Moore
All right, great.
Andy Holloway
Now Funches is playing for other teams this week too though, right?
Jason Moore
Always.
Andy Holloway
Every week. Remember, that's a throwback. I know. All right. The Eagles get to play the Patriots in Foxborough. I'm sorry, that's an apology.
Mike Wright
Yeah, that's an apology for that.
Andy Holloway
A little bit better. Would you.
Mike Wright
Eagles fans, sorry that you have to play the New England Patriots this week. We've seen many, many a touchdowns put up on your secondary over the last couple weeks, including a 5 burger from Matthew Stafford and Jameis Winston.
Andy Holloway
Not a good. Not a good thing. Now hide your.
Mike Wright
Hide your milk money.
Jason Moore
Philadelphia, hide the kids.
Mike Wright
Because everybody throwing touchdowns.
Andy Holloway
So the wishful thinking Philadelphia Eagles fan says, hey, the weapons in New England, they're not there. We're going to come in.
Mike Wright
We don't need to be.
Andy Holloway
We're going to upset them.
Mike Wright
I do more.
Andy Holloway
Chris Harper.
Mike Wright
I have breaking news, guys. I'm playing slot for the New England Patriots this week. Are you put me in your fantasy lineup because I'm getting at least three touchdowns.
Andy Holloway
The beard. The beard is in. All right, so what is there to say about this game? We expect Sam Bradford to be back and to play in this game. Is that correct?
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
That is great.
Andy Holloway
That's the latest we've heard. Not projecting great things from him.
Mike Wright
No.
Andy Holloway
So the real relevance Here is the DeMarco Murray owner who's very discouraged and frustrated. The Patriots defense has been giving up more yards and touchdowns to the running back in successive weeks. That being said, Jason brought up the great point before the show last week. They lost Dante Hightower in the middle of the game. That certainly didn't help when trying to stop C.J. anderson and Ronnie Hillman and that and that Kubiak offense. So this week they're expecting to have Hightower back. DeMarco Murray looks like he's a guy running the wrong direction mentally and physically. I'm not very confident about DeMarco Murray. How about you guys?
Mike Wright
No, I'm not confident I'm still going to start him just because of a volume based thing. Well, like we just settled about Latavius Murray. Give me those carries. Give me that opportunity.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, he's still a borderline. I mean, he's a one, two.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Edge of one.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I would go more, but, you know, he's. I would rather have him than Latavius Murray. I think that's right. Just because he has more touchdown potential than Latavius Murray does.
Mike Wright
Especially with Ryan Matthews still dealing with his concussion.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Yeah. I'm not. I'm not. Definitely not loving Latavius Murray.
Mike Wright
All right, Patriots running backs.
Andy Holloway
Well, what do you do? Well, what. What was the stat that you were looking at earlier, which.
Mike Wright
That the patriots run on 36% of plays.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. The lowest in the league.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Patriots. What do you do?
Andy Holloway
You don't start them.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Okay. I mean, it's. This is a.
Andy Holloway
This is not a surprise.
Mike Wright
We.
Andy Holloway
Right. Garrett Blunt has a big game and we came on the show and said.
Jason Moore
Okay, the Patriots running back that you want to play is Danny Amendola. My start of the week as they run through the air.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Andy Holloway
But they're favorite.
Mike Wright
They're favored by about 10 points. We're expecting the Patriots to have a sizable lead.
Andy Holloway
It's always possible.
Mike Wright
Does LeGarrett blunt?
Andy Holloway
Always possible.
Mike Wright
Game flow and garbage man destroy the clock and put up decent fantasy production.
Andy Holloway
Does he? Probably not. Can he? Yes.
Mike Wright
If you're picking between the three of these guys, are you going to go with that? Are you going to go with Bolden catching a touchdown?
Andy Holloway
No, I'd go with Blunt over Bolden or White, for sure. That being said, I give the Blunt, you know, percentage chance at about 15% that. That's the way the game goes.
Jason Moore
I give it about a 36% chance.
Andy Holloway
About. About a 36.4% chance.
Jason Moore
The same percent that they run the ball.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Andy Holloway
Jordan Matthews, maybe the biggest beneficiary of. In football this year. In football this year. He has caught one touchdown on the last play of the game. He's caught one in overtime, which wasn't garbage time, but was really late. And then he caught one last week in pure garbage time and gave owners kind of a baseline. I mean, do you start Jordan Matthews? You start him over any Patriots wide receiver? Not over Amendola?
Jason Moore
No.
Mike Wright
No.
Jason Moore
Not over Lafel. Not. I would start Jordan Matthews over Keyshawn Martin.
Andy Holloway
I really like Brand lefell this week.
Jason Moore
I do, too.
Andy Holloway
This is going to be the one. This is going to be the week.
Jason Moore
He has not been good. He's not good so far.
Mike Wright
Continue your. Your verbal assaults on the name that is Danny Amendola. Besmirch him all you want.
Andy Holloway
I'm not besmirching him. I like him. Okay, so here's what don't you like about him?
Mike Wright
I love Danny Amadola. Love him.
Jason Moore
Here's one of the weird things you have the Eagles giving up a ton through the air. They've been terrible and yet they have still during that same stretch, been fantastic against the tight end. They're still overall as far as fantasy points given up to tight end second. So what happens here with Scott Chandler? We saw him be essentially used in the same Gronk kind of role when Gronk went down, even though he's clearly no Gronk. Are you expecting big things from Scott Chandler because he's stepping into that role and you like it. The Eagles been given up a lot through the air or do you not?
Mike Wright
I'm expecting Chandler to be serviceable. New England is one of those teams where of course, Gronk. But I'm just saying as a team with schemes and ways to exploit matchups, they can find a way to get Chandler the ball if that's their desire. Now, I don't know if that's what they want because they're the Patriots and they can do this where we are expecting Scott Chandler to jump in, block some and get maybe seven or eight targets. He could have two targets. That's just the way that the Patriots go. Having said that, would I start Scott Chandler off of other guys that are on the waiver wire? Yes. I still have him as low end, tight end. 1. That a guy I would like to start.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Yeah. I'm not going to disagree with anything about that. Take. No need to go into anything else. I have hesitation based on the history of some guys having a lot of hype and then doing nothing. But I think you can start him. I think he has to catch some passes based on the passing options in New England, so. All right, I'm going to move on. Colts, Steelers, we like Big Ben. We like them a lot.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Roethlisberger against the Colts. They're seven point favorites at home. High over under. This is the perfect, perfect weather for some Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant, good friend of the show. Oh, he is going to.
Andy Holloway
He is my. Was he my. He was my start of the week, wasn't he?
Mike Wright
Don't ask me.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
You made me look. You looked at me like I was wrong. I was like he's my start of the week. Gotcha. So thank you. All right, we're starting Big Ben. We're starting Martavis. We're starting Antonio Brown.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Andy Holloway
I'm going to focus on two. Two aspects from this game. The first One is last three weeks, Steelers D, giving up 85 yards in the ground and 0.7 touchdowns. Frank Gore has been a hot topic this week because nobody really wants to start him. But I feel like in so many different start sit questions that we're being sent and being asked of us, it's been kind of like, well, you're starting Gore, so is that just what it is?
Jason Moore
It's another volume. It's another Murray Latavius.
Andy Holloway
Or is it another vegetable?
Jason Moore
No, I don't think it's a vegetable. Because he has been running.
Andy Holloway
Does he taste better than a vegetable or worse?
Jason Moore
I think he tastes better than a vegetable. But he's not as healthy. I mean, he's just not.
Andy Holloway
He's. He's iceberg lettuce, like a. Oh, you always want the iceberg, but you know, you're not getting nothing.
Mike Wright
Yeah, it's the base of the salad. But there is no nutritional value.
Andy Holloway
No, but you kind of still think there is because it's.
Mike Wright
You do.
Andy Holloway
Because like when you're like, yeah, I'm gonna keep the lettuce on there because how many people would really want to keep lettuce on it? Not as often. So I'm not sure where this analogy has taken us and what this applies to Frank Gore.
Jason Moore
Frank Gore is going to get the volum. He's had, you know, 14, 19 carries in a row coming off of back to back 20 carry games? He hasn't. Last game, 19 carries. Does anybody know how many yards he had?
Mike Wright
You ever had some of the twenties?
Andy Holloway
You ever had some bad iceberg?
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Where it's like floppy, not crunchy. Yeah, you want the crunchy Gore. You don't want the Floppy Gore.
Jason Moore
He was the Floppy gore last week. 19 carries for 24 yards. That's like one. That's just barely.
Andy Holloway
The show goes over one hour. I have no regard for human life.
Jason Moore
So the question here, Floppy Gore, the question is going to be, does he get involved in the pass game with Ahmad Bradshaw out? I think he can. So he is. He's an okay start. He's my set of the week. That doesn't mean I wouldn't play him. I have sat him on my own personal roster. I put Lamar Miller in ahead of him, obviously Mark Ingram ahead of him. And I put Mike Evans ahead of him.
Andy Holloway
So I'm going to keep the analogy for just a split second and then ask you a real question, Jason. So stay with me.
Jason Moore
All right.
Andy Holloway
But would you put, would you put them in the fridge to crisp up a little bit for the playoffs? If you're the Colts, are you just rushing it?
Jason Moore
I think you're. You're worried that it's not going to make it to the playoffs. So you've got to eat that. You've got to eat it now and not. I mean, the fridge probably isn't going to. It's only going to slow the wilting. It's not going to be crisp.
Andy Holloway
You're right. You're right. So you've got to eat before he's going to be.
Jason Moore
You know, based on that start Frank Gore.
Mike Wright
And we. We're glossing over. We're glossing over something that we need to talk about. There's a couple undefeated quarterbacks in the NFL, guys.
Jason Moore
It's true.
Mike Wright
Cam Newton.
Jason Moore
Yep.
Mike Wright
And the legend, the living legend, Matt Hasselbeck.
Andy Holloway
Oh, yeah. Seahawks quarterback.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
From at 1 90s at one time. No, he's playing great. He's doing exactly what they need to do. That being said, looking at their offensive production, you're in the 200s in yardage. They're conservative. They're making smart decisions. They're not turning the ball over. He's not a startable guy. Right, right.
Mike Wright
Very, very low end quarterback. 3.
Jason Moore
But there are only.
Andy Holloway
That is all the quarterback. But we have him at 21, in case anybody's curious, because we going to get to.
Mike Wright
Was Ty Hilton had a great game, two touchdowns last week. So did Moncrief, and Moncrief had over 100 yards. So that, that has to give you confidence that you can play these guys and not just have to go in the shower and cry.
Andy Holloway
They will get space on the Steelers defense. The Steelers defense has given up. They've been bipolar in the passing defense. You saw it last week, five touchdowns to Russell Wilson. It's not like Russell Wilson has done that all year long. I mean, he. Forever in his life. Forever in his life. All right, Cowboys, Redskins, Monday Night Football. What do we do here?
Mike Wright
What?
Andy Holloway
Who's the best start in this game?
Jason Moore
Oh, oh. The best start in this game is probably Darren McFadden. And I don't love Darren McFadden.
Andy Holloway
Out of pure curiosity, totally unrelated to anybody you know, would you start the Bears defense against the San Francisco 49ers or this Redskins defense against the Dallas Cowboys?
Jason Moore
I would start the Bears Defense against San Francisco in Chicago, when. When The San Francisco 49ers go on the road, they are atrocious. Whereas Dallas, they've lost a lot of games in a row. They don't have Tony Romo, but they.
Andy Holloway
Haven'T still had Des Bryant.
Jason Moore
Yeah, they haven't been one of those teams that's imploded or hasn't been in a game or has been, you know, terrible against other fantasy Ds. So I definitely go.
Mike Wright
Except for last week, sure.
Jason Moore
But that was Tony Romo. Three picks.
Andy Holloway
So the Cowboys, 44% of the receptions go to the wide receiver, which is.
Mike Wright
A low, low number percentage.
Jason Moore
That's because of how many dub offs have been going to the running back.
Andy Holloway
So, I mean, DEZ Bryant, what are you doing with him?
Mike Wright
You're playing him because you're doing it with that voice. Yeah, exactly. You're playing him. And I will say this. Washington at home is a good football team. They're there. I don't know how many wins in a row, but Kirk Cousins has a nice streak going at home. They're completely different. They're like San Francisco, where the stat I mentioned yesterday, where the. The 49ers defense on the road is just atrocious. Washington at home is solid. So this isn't a game that I feel very confident throwing any or throwing most Cowboys out there. Darren McFadden, Dez Bryant, I will play them. No, really. Nobody else. But to your point of the question, Washington or Chicago, I might lean Washington just because I think that Matt Castle, it would be more prone to turning.
Jason Moore
The ball over than Dwayne Gabbard.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
In Chicago.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
I mean, I want to.
Jason Moore
I want to say one thing, though.
Andy Holloway
I don't sign the Bears. I'm playing the Bears against Jason.
Jason Moore
Okay. I don't think that DEZ Bryant is necessarily startable. And I say that because his name is DEZ Bryant. I field a lot of questions where people just assume the answer is, well, you have to start DEZ because he's dez, but. And I think the time has come. Like, for instance, a great example, someone was, like, asking between DEZ and Allen Robinson, and they were like, I know, I just have to start my studs, so I should put DEZ in. And it's like, well, Allen Robinson is this. You're right. You have to start your studs, but that's Allen Robinson. So we can't get too attached to the name. I mean, DEZ Bryant, he's a physical freak. He's talented. He could definitely Catch a touchdown. We've got him. Me and Mike have him at 29, so, you know, he's. He's one of those flex type receivers. But if you've got two good wide receivers, don't be afraid. I would say to, you know, not rolled as out there or being afraid to sit him. If you have good options just because of his name.
Andy Holloway
It's a good point. It's the kind of point that needs to be made. Otherwise you end up starting Randall Cobb every game in the entire season. All right, we do not have time for daily dose today. We had some scheduling conflicts, so I apologize. We teased it. We normally have Chris Meany on the show. We didn't connect with him, but we are gonna get his picks for the DFS starts of the week and we're gonna tweet those out today. And so stay tuned for that. Mike, make sure that happens. Keep me accountable, bro.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I will. I'll give you his number.
Andy Holloway
All right, I got a real, real quick.
Mike Wright
DEZ Bryant. He has the one game over a hundred yards. No other games is he surpassed 50 yards.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, but how many has he played?
Mike Wright
Four. Six.
Andy Holloway
Really?
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Mike Wright
Just saying.
Andy Holloway
I do back up, Jason. I do want to make sure we get to the mailbag and we answer some listener questions. So let's do that right now.
Jason Moore
Mailbag.
Andy Holloway
I'm a little disappointed you guys haven't talked about my like Jurassic park sweater.
Jason Moore
It's delightful.
Andy Holloway
I mean, that's what I call it. It's a dinosaur eating. I think it's a moose. It's a Christmas.
Jason Moore
It's an ugly Christmas sweater. Which is delightful.
Andy Holloway
And the problem is not really a sweater.
Mike Wright
But if you look sweater, shirt.
Jason Moore
If you're watching on YouTube, the one thing you're not gonna be able to see is the blood on the butt of the moose where the dinosaur.
Andy Holloway
It's Christmas blood.
Jason Moore
Christmas blood. Of course.
Andy Holloway
But hatch that Christmas blood.
Jason Moore
So yeah. So good. I love the hashtag.
Andy Holloway
Okay. I just want Krampus. I just feel like I need it. Yeah. Those commercials are not my favorite thing to have come on every two seconds with your kids around. Like it's in the middle of football games. You got Krampus and these fingers with.
Mike Wright
Slash or it's the best when you say, yeah, Christmas is canceled.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
You want to know what happens when Santa Claus doesn't come?
Andy Holloway
You get murdered.
Jason Moore
Krampus. Krampus.
Andy Holloway
Krampus.
Mike Wright
All right, you get the cramp.
Andy Holloway
I got a bad case of the Krampus.
Mike Wright
Brandon Mac, did you get from Floppy Gore.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Jason Moore
All right.
Andy Holloway
This has gone on long enough. Jason has emphysema. We need to get him home and into hospice care. Brandon Mack in Austin, Texas. If I win this week, I make the playoffs.
Jason Moore
Exactly what we're talking about.
Andy Holloway
Do I start Spencer Ware or Jeremy Hill? That's an easy answer.
Jason Moore
Easy peasy. Jeremy.
Mike Wright
Jeremy Hill.
Andy Holloway
Oh, I was going to go with Adrian Peterson. No. Jeremy Hill. Out of your options. Other. Let's see. Ernest, you know what I read?
Mike Wright
Yeah. In my head, I was looking at it, thinking, I really hope he reads other details as somebody's name for the next email.
Andy Holloway
I'm gonna blame that on Matthew.
Mike Wright
You can only blame yourself.
Andy Holloway
All right. Ernest in New Mexico.
Mike Wright
Bonjour.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that's another country.
Andy Holloway
Flex start Ivory. You guys got to be specific with this D. Johnson thing because we don't know if it's Duke or David Ivory.
Mike Wright
Do we're going to answer it is David.
Andy Holloway
I think it's David because look, Johnson, Decker or Amendola.
Mike Wright
Full ppr.
Jason Moore
Full ppr. I'm going to go with Amendola.
Mike Wright
Amendola. I'd love to go David Johnson here, but it's Amendola because of the ppr.
Andy Holloway
I'm going to go with David Johnson. Amendola is coming off an injury. You don't know how healthy he really is and how much that's fair. The risk of him being pulled off the field for some reason, like last time he played Eric in Atlanta. Should I start old man Hasselbeck or take the risk and start Rivers vs. Denver? That is a great question. Also starting where? At flex. Should I consider or reconsider and have Snead and Keyshawn Martin as other options? I know my answer.
Mike Wright
Standard league. I would. I would throw Rivers out there above Hasselbeck because of upside.
Jason Moore
If you.
Mike Wright
If you need just 200 yards and maybe two touchdowns, then Hasselbeck is fine because Rivers could absolutely crap the team.
Jason Moore
Here's no way.
Andy Holloway
Almost upset of the week, bro.
Jason Moore
Here's who I would throw out ahead of Rivers. Jay Cutler, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Ryan Tannehill.
Andy Holloway
He's not going to have any of those options. We're answering the question.
Mike Wright
We're given.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you can tell 14 team league. And his options at flex are Snead and Keyshawn Martin. So Hasselbeck is his choice here.
Mike Wright
Okay, you're going Hasselbeck.
Andy Holloway
So would you go Hasselbeck is the question.
Jason Moore
No, I would go Philip Rivers over Hasselbeck.
Andy Holloway
Okay. And then I would start where. I would start where I think he'll get goal Line carries in that game. Denny, in Philadelphia, it's crunch time and I need a win to make the playoffs. Why can't you guys clinch like three or four weeks ago? It would make it so much easier. All right, Come on. I'm just kidding. Should I start Jordan Reed or Julius Thomas? And should I start Cousins over Derek Carr?
Jason Moore
Ooh. Mike's start of the week versus Mike's sit of the week.
Mike Wright
Yeah. So I'm going to go, Julie.
Andy Holloway
Oh, well, no, no, no, you're good. Go ahead.
Mike Wright
Oh, I thought we were betting something.
Andy Holloway
No, I'm just getting to the next. I'm getting ready for the next.
Mike Wright
I'm going with Julius Thomas and the. What was the quarterback Cousins or car?
Jason Moore
Are you going to send in the car?
Mike Wright
I'm going to go, man. Kirk Cousins at home is pretty good, but I'm gonna. I'm gonna stick with Carr at home.
Andy Holloway
Send in the car. Send in the car. Three touchdowns last week for Tyrod Taylor against the Kansas City defense. They're at home. I think Carr has potential. I'd start him over Cousins. All right. That's a long show, guys. Are we okay? Jason, how are you doing?
Mike Wright
Barely.
Jason Moore
I feel.
Andy Holloway
Getting sick.
Jason Moore
I feel like hashtag Christmas. That's how I feel. So I'm going to the restroom.
Andy Holloway
This is. I'm gonna hit that button right there, please. You'll get a chance to rest your voice over the weekend. Hopefully I can beat you by 37. And we'll be back here on Monday. Thanks for listening. Thanks for supporting the show. We'll see you next week.
Mike Wright
Goodbye.
