All right. There is a lot of news. And whenever there's a lot of news, I want to cover it both fast and thoroughly so that, you know, it's impossible to do both. But let's talk about Oda Beckham Jr.

That's the breaking big time news.

We might have to linger on this for a little bit because I got.

Well, let's do that then, because Oda Beckham Jr. You know, we said yesterday on the show likely to be Suspended. The news broke later yesterday. Suspended for one game. The. The news on the appeal. He's going, going to appeal. That should be handled today or tomorrow at the latest we will know whether he's actually available for that game. My gut tells me he is out. Yeah, I would cannot tolerate.

[Mike Wright]

I agree. You, you got to, if you're an owner of Beckham owner, you need to be prepared that he's going to be out. And generally we're a very fantasy focused show. But I was watching after the game last night, Monday night, after the Monday night game where Ray Lewis, Steve Young, Trent Dilfer, these guys, they all always do a wrap up and I like, I like those guys. I like the banter between the four of them generally. But they started talking about Odell Beckham last night and it was Ray Lewis saying he's. He regularly talks to Beckham, says this is not who Odell Beckham is as a person. That, you know, this is not who him as a guy, as a person, as his character. And then he launches into how he's very disappointed with the Giants that his teammates did not come to his aid, that his coach did not come to his aid. And, and then on then Trent Dilfer. Yeah, I mean you, it's on the coach. You gotta, you gotta pull that guy out. It's on his teammates. You got to tell him to settle down, pull him out of that fight. Even Steve Young. Everyone was passing the blame to everyone else except the guy who almost broke Josh Norman's face.

[Andy Holloway]

No responsibility.

None whatsoever. And I was just thoroughly disgusted with like, you got to have some accountability. Odo Beckham messed up. Can he fix it? Absolutely.

Well, and we said this before the show. If it were, if he wanted to do what's best for his brand name and, and as a human being, genuinely he should have come forward and not blamed other people and just say this. And I understand you might still need to appeal. Right. Because your team needs to win and maybe you have some grounds for appeal. Right. But part of that process can be taking responsibility for ridiculous actions on the field as opposed to being patted on the back and say, look, there are all these outside circumstances that caused me to do this. I mean this is not a one time behavior. This is something we've seen multiple times. You showed me a video right before. I don't know if you retweeted that.

I did.

Where he blows a guy up for no reason whatsoever and then hides behind a referee to, you know, avoid the repercussions of that. He's it doesn't mean he's the bad guy for his life. It means he should come forward as a human being and say, look, I'm responsible for this. I made a wrong decision. It's gonna change on the field. If you come forward with an appeal, with that, maybe it goes your way, maybe it doesn't. But you know what? Moving forward, people are gonna respect the person you are and the player you are.

Yeah, it just was. It was some ridiculous protecting of a superstar from.

[Andy Holloway]

That's how it felt.

Yeah, it very much felt like that.

So fantasy wise, if you own him, you're in trouble this week. If you don't own him and you're playing against him, you're probably doing a tap dance somewhere. So this is fantasy football. The polar, you know, emotions of that situation. Now, if you owned him, Mike, after saying all that and he was not suspended, you'd sit him down for, you know, and.

[Mike Wright]

No, I would not. I would play him.

[Andy Holloway]

All right?

[Mike Wright]

I would.

I would separate it. You'd separate it out.

[Mike Wright]

Here's. I mean, I get. I don't blame people if they want to do that. We had that whole situation last year with. With some players, like Adrian Peterson. With Peterson. And if I don't blame people. If you want to do that, that's how you play. Have no problem with that. I just.

[Andy Holloway]

You mean to sit him down? Yeah, yeah. It's a slippery slope then, because we don't know. I mean, this is not a personal game. This is a statistical game.

[Mike Wright]

I'll tell you what I. What I've done in our league of record. I got so disgusted with my team, I'm benching all of them.

[Andy Holloway]

Well, I made sure you could do that.

[Mike Wright]

All right.

[Andy Holloway]

Hey, Denard Robinson foot injury, they say is not serious. You need to monitor this this week. I suspect TJ Eldon will be back, but we need to see the reports on whether Robinson or Yelden or somebody else is the running back for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Because even though Denard did not, you know, have an incredible game, he still gave you a baseline last week, didn't get.

[Mike Wright]

In the end, he took 100% of the running back touches, a very high.

[Andy Holloway]

Percentage that's up there.

[Mike Wright]

And he gets to play the Saints next week.

[Andy Holloway]

If you watched the game last night, Drew Brees played on one foot, had a pretty impressive comeback on one foot. Couldn't finish it, but mostly because, man, they couldn't get in at the end of the half. That was. That was tough to watch in a protective boot. Will have an mri. Drew Brees might not be available next week.

[Mike Wright]

That would be a. That would be a big loss for people. I mean, against Jacksonville Jaguars, that is a tasty matchup for a championship for a guy that people have been riding. Breeze has been good since he started. Very slow.

[Andy Holloway]

It's incredible how this works, but you saw it last night. The reason Breeze value is there is because of what happened last night. Their defense couldn't stop them. And the games that the Saints are in, they feel like they're about six quarters long. I don't know how these games, they feel like they last forever because there's just so much passing and the clock stops. So Pete Carroll said that the Seahawks, despite Christine Michael having a very good second half, surprised we didn't have a special Christine Michael episode.

[Mike Wright]

That's right.

[Andy Holloway]

I tried to tone it down. They're going to continue with an rbbc. But Michael's the guy you'd want to start, right?

[Mike Wright]

Yeah. Bryce Brown did have a solid game, but Michael was the guy who was getting the touches. He had the hot hand. Certainly that could switch. But if you're playing the probability, you go with Michael. And as far as a special episode, I mean, the. The Christmas miracle is that people are going to play Christian Michael in their championship week. That speaks for itself. That's all the. That's all the goodness that I need in my soul.

Just so I can recap real quick. Christie Michaels. Season started on the Seahawks. Cut by the Seahawks.

[Mike Wright]

No, no, no, no. He was traded.

Should be okay for next year. It was a really interesting thing to hear him come out about two weeks ago and say, I'll be better next year. Like it wasn't, I'll be better this year. It was I'll be better next year. Because he said he starts slow on every level, whether it was high school, collegiately or whatever. So wait and see. He should be a high pick next year. I mean, not a high pick. He'll be a starting running back selection with upside.

He will be a value. Melvin Gordon is the list I was talking about of guys to not forget. Melvin Gordon is absolutely on there. He's going to be a guy you can draft probably in the fifth or sixth round who will be a starting running back.

[Andy Holloway]

And we'll talk in the. As soon as the regular fantasy season is over, we'll be talking about those guys, the undervalued guys that we see projecting going forward, free agency, you know. But right now, Melvin Gordon's out. Danny Woodhead upside play this week, right?

Danny Woodhead, yeah, yeah, absolutely. Him and Donald Brown will be talking about.

So what's next here? We've got Jason Garrett confirming Des Bryant won't be shut down. Okay. So there you go. He did look. I mean he's got more upside if you have a different quarterback in play.

So if Kellen Moore is out there, does Bryant's okay? Because he's going to target him. Because you know what smart quarterbacks do, they kind of target the giant guy that you can give him the ball in the. Even on a screen pass. He can take it to the house.

Matt Castle has been very confusing it as the Dallas quarterback not focus firing at DEZ Bryant where when he was in. In Kansas City, I mean he was completely focused. Fired on Dwayne Bowe.

That's a smart way to go.

And he had success. You throw it to your best player.

Adrian Peterson, ankle injury. According to Zimmer, he will be all right after the ankle scare. Any concern there? Limited workload. Concern?

I would say slightly. The bigger concern is he's Sunday Night Football. And if you're an Adrian Peterson owner, you best have a Sunday night option.

What you can do is you can sign one of the. Maybe the Giants, maybe Shane Vereen too, as a. As a super backup option just for an emergency case. It's better to be safe than sorry in that situation. Amendola. Danny Amendola, knee sprain, not going to play. Probably won't miss the real playoffs, but irrelevant for fantasy. Marcus Mariota we talked about yesterday. He's done for the season. Quarterback news for the Colts. Andrew Luck not playing in week 16. Pagano said that Matt Hasselbeck is beat up from the feet up.

So that is something you can never take away from him.

It's just so weird. Why, why is there even talk of Ryan Mallet? Clausen's been okay.

He was very capable last week, so. But Tyler Lockett was 5 for 55 and another touchdown. These are all guys in the 50% range of availability on your waiver wire. Another guy, Ted Ginn Jr. 6 for 85, two touchdowns. Again this week he is, he has.

Owned in 58% of leagues.

So would you rather have lock it or Gin?

[Mike Wright]

I'm going. I would go big. I would go big with Ted Ginn.

You feel like that's going bigger? Yes, because they take more deep shots to him every game.

And both guys have big play potential.

Here's so Ted Ginn, avail or is owned in only 58% of leagues in our league, is the 18th ranked wide receiver.

He's been who's available in almost half of leagues. And I think you've seen a trend where Cam's relying on him a little bit more. It's not just the deep pass. I mean, one of his. Both of his touchdowns last week were not bombs. They were, you know, one was in the corner of the end zone. One was like a little screen pass that he ran in. So Reuben Randall's another guy that had a Good week. Again, 4 for 44 or 4 for 47 and a touchdown. But the big news there is Beckham. Beckham. If Beckham's out, Randall. Randall moves up the chain.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah.

[Andy Holloway]

Which is dangerous because it could be too tempting to.

[Mike Wright]

Well, it could be when Reuben Randle has to shoulder the pressure of that situation in a must win game against Minnesota. Who's a good defense then? I don't know. There could be problems.

[Andy Holloway]

Wouldn't you say that Dwayne Harris would be a benefit there too? I mean, he could be. I mean, because Dwayne Harris has had some good games, his shoulder didn't seem to be a problem coming back last week. I kind of like the upside of Harris too, because he can break a big play on the kind of play that Odell Beckham Jr. Breaks, which is, you know, half the time it's a slant that he takes to the house. So Ruben Randall and Dwayne Harris are guys to keep on your radar at the wide receiver position. Let's move over to running backs. This is a desperate time for running backs for a lot of people. Last week, it's what cost me my matchup. I had lost Rawls and I had lost Jonathan Stewart and I had to roll other guys out there Now, I chose Cameron Artist Payne. He's a guy I like. This week, if Jonathan Stewart's out, do you like Artist Payne? Do you like. Or do you like an option in Seattle more? Now, obviously, the Falcons are at home taking on Carolina. That would be where Artist Payne is. The Seahawks have the Rams in Seattle.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah, I think I would lean to. I would go Michael.

[Andy Holloway]

Okay.

[Mike Wright]

Because the Rams are. That's tough. The Rams play Seattle tough. But their. Their rushing defense has been just gashed the last few weeks.

So outside of Christine, Michael, and Artis Payne, who are the guys that are more at the top of your list?

[Mike Wright]

I really like Bilal Powell. We had a listener tweet us in some. Some facts I don't have right in front of me. But essentially, since week 11, Bilal Powell has been the guy and he's getting more. He looks.

[Andy Holloway]

He looks good.

[Mike Wright]

He does. Bilal Powell is. He's an interesting running back because he's always looked good when he's been given an opportunity the last few years. He's. He always ends up being one of these sneaky guys at the end of the year for PPR especially.

[Andy Holloway]

Well, 7 for 54 through the air last week.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah, that's tremendous. And they're playing against New England. And if you're trying to forecast a game flow, you certainly would have to believe that the Patriots will be up and the jets will be trying to catch up.

[Andy Holloway]

All right, now, how can you not love Carlos Williams this week? Shady McCoy will be out. Carlos Williams has shown from the beginning of the season that he can get into the end zone and make big plays. I'm a big Carlos Williams fan this week. I know it's Dallas, but I like Carlos Williams.

[Mike Wright]

The question to me is just William Williams. Get that workhorse role with Gillislee, Gillisley as who's also been serviceable for Buffalo. And Carlos is still a bit banged up. Now, he came out of the game, and Rex Ryan's comment was simply, he's very, very sore. But he made it through the game.

[Andy Holloway]

Right? Right. So they might split a little bit.

[Mike Wright]

That's. It's a. Certainly an upside play.

[Andy Holloway]

All right. Making an appearance at the end of the season.

I think it was well deserved. Could have stepped off the mic a little bit, you know. All right, Amir Abdullah, nine for 77 and one. Now the one is also a fumble and a touchdown. Two for 12 through the air. I mean, always looks like he's a leg tackle away from a home run and always gets tackled by the leg tackle.

If watching Abdullah's touchdown run the guy. His ability to change direction at full speed is incredible. Now, he's been a little rough. I compare him to, I don't know. Did you ever see Casey Jones or Casey Jr. The train when you were young? This is the. I think I can train.

So he's. He's an express. But he's been going up that hill.

I think going down full speed is pretty much what he did. All isn't one matter of speaking. Danny Woodhead, Donald Brown, Alfred Blue. This is the Alfred Blue Experience. If you ever seen that at imax. This is what it looks like. One out of every three or four games.

Yeah. I just don't understand it. 20 for 107. He got the. This is why I ran away from Chris Polk and Jonathan Grimes. As soon as we heard Alfred Blue was okay. They said he was banged up the game before. I mean, if you have to start a Texas running back, you got to go say your prayers.

[Mike Wright]

Got to go with Blue again against Tennessee. So it's not terrible for the San Diego guys. I mean, Woodhead is still owned in 80% of leagues. But you could. Like I dropped him. I was at a point in my money league where I had to make a move. And Woodhead was the most expendable running back at the time because he's been awful for a month now with Melvin Gordon out, it could be the Woodhead show. Donald Brown was 12 for 90. Remember Donald Brown? That's.

[Andy Holloway]

I remember Donald Brown. Now, how Donald Brown just reminds me of thinking he thinking of how bad Trent Richardson is. Because when you compare the two on the field, you said, you said either one of two things. You either knew that Donald Brown's not that great or you knew Trent Richardson was that bad. And at the time, I think the league thought Trent Richardson wasn't that bad. And that's why Donald Brown got a contract. So Trent Richardson deserves some credit there.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah, he should send him a sweet thank you note, a bouquet.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah.

[Mike Wright]

But For Donald Brown, 12 for 90, the Chargers were on the lead for the game.

[Andy Holloway]

I mean, they were sitting on the lead, so that could be a game flow thing. I would rather play Woodhead, but like we. Like I said, he's owned in 80% of the league.

[Andy Holloway]

So it'd be very likely that Brown gets the between the tackles and Woodhead is involved a little bit more than normal carrying the ball. And then we saw what he could do through the air last week. It's not a stay in the flame situation with Woodhead.

[Mike Wright]

No. He's. He's not even heating up.

[Andy Holloway]

No. Well, that was a big strike of a match last week with four touchdowns. All right, tight ends. I'm going to pretend I'm a fantasy owner out there and I am in the title game and I'm going up against Greg Olson or Rob Gronkowski or Jordan Reed and I need to mitigate the damage to my roster. Help me, Mike.

[Mike Wright]

If you have to mitigate a and you want to swing for the fences, I'm going to go with Zach ertz who was 8 for 78 and 1. We've seen him the last few weeks get more involved in the passing game. He gets to take on Washington. So that's the upside play for me was Zach Ertz. If you need to go huge, if you need to go steady, the guy we were talking about at the beginning will tie 5 for 43 in a touchdown. Only owned in 13% of leagues playing against Minnesota with upside with upside because a team that does not have Odell Beckham or likely to have Odell Beckham and then you also have Zach Miller is a guy we like in Chicago who's been. He's been coming on strong with when Martellus Bennett got IR'd and then the. The enigma that is Austin Safari and Jenkins, he's. He could be out there for you still three for 29 and a touchdown.

[Andy Holloway]

He does get red zone targets and so you're really counting on him to catch one of them.

[Mike Wright]

Right.

[Andy Holloway]

So that's what it comes down to. But he has upside too. I like those options. Those are okay options if you need to stream a guy and they're out there. They're all out there. Owned in very few leagues. Like Mike said, well tie in 13%. So. All right, quarterbacks.

I always feel like we should probably just start the next segment of the show because we're dealing with the same topic here of streaming a quarterback. So waiver wire decisions to be made here. There's one guy that really jumps out at the top of the list because of his ownership percentage and you have to like it.

Absolutely. Playing very well. 319 and 4. We have seen this. We talked about this a lot yesterday in the studio off air. Kirk Cousins, his career trajectory looked a lot like it looks right now. Then he had those kind of crumbling games in prime time with the picks and looked like he lost all of his confidence. And all of a sudden here he is again. A guy who when he plays well, he plays really well. Jordan Reed is so crucial to his success. Having that option with Jordan Reed around the goal line, DeSean Jackson downfield, big plays. You don't miss a lot with Kirk Cousins in terms of, you know, weapons and tools and what they want to do with the offense. Not the best running game but they can get enough done to make it, you know, the play action viable. And he's got the Eagles on. On Saturday night.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah, that's the. It's an A plus B scenario here where Kirk Cousins has been playing well especially coming off of last week and the fact that he gets to take on Philadelphia who their secondary cannot stop anybody. The only thing that can stop a wide receiver against Philadelphia is John Brown esque drops.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah, that occurs last week and I'm. If you're streaming a quarterback and you need to make a decision on a guy. I love it when you get to make a decision on Kirk Cousins or I know one of the guys that Jason has is. His stream of the week is Philip Rivers this week. So Rivers plays on Thursday, Cousins plays on Saturday. That helps set the table for some of your other decisions. If you've got your quarterback in the books, you know, whether you need to play a safer running back or an upside running back.

[Mike Wright]

I feel like Philip. Jason's not here for me to chop him down. But Philip Rivers would be a start of the week. A guy who's owned a 90% of leagues. It's not really a quarter. Dreamer.

[Andy Holloway]

You're right. But yeah, come on. Because people aren't dumping him is what you're saying.

[Mike Wright]

Jason is sick. I'm going to. I'm going to give him a pass that's his. That's his vomit talking.

[Andy Holloway]

Okay. But it's relevant that he likes him because if people have him on the roster and they're making. All right, you have Philip Rivers on your roster and you got Kirk Cousins on the waiver wire. What do you do?

[Mike Wright]

I'd play Kirk Cousins.

[Andy Holloway]

Okay. And he plays on Saturday night. And if he has a big game, maybe you go safer at your running back. You know, you're flipping someone in for Jonathan Stewart. You can play a Cameron Artist. Pain. You don't need to look for massive upside. You need to get points. So just a guy we really like. There are other options, though, as streamers that we like a little less, but we want them in your brain in case you're in a deeper league. You're in a league where Kirk Cousins is not available and you need to look at another streamer.

[Mike Wright]

You're in two quarterbacks. And you. You went AJ McCarran last week because you lost Dalton. I mean, there's scenarios where people need quarterbacks. So Kirk Cousins is at the top of the list. Ryan Fitzpatrick still has to be there. It wasn't the best game last week, but he still was 300 yards and a touchdown. He's. He has to take on New England, which could turn into him having to throw a ton.

[Andy Holloway]

Bilal Pal is helping him a lot, too. Yeah, because the check down and he's always good to run the ball a little bit.

[Mike Wright]

Teddy Bridgewater. Now this one, I say with some hesitancy because he's coming off a career game. You don't want to chase that level of points. However, they're taking on the Giants and the Giants secondary are also very porous and can be beat with Adrian Peterson a little bit banged up. Maybe. Maybe you want to take a shot.

[Andy Holloway]

I will say this. It's not been a. It's been a couple of decent weeks for Bridgewater. At least. You know where he had 330 plus yards before in the Cardinal game. And then last week, the yardage wasn't quite there before touchdowns and then one on the ground. So not the worst option in the world, is the point there. He's no Ryan Mallet. Anybody streaming Ryan Mallet this week?

[Mike Wright]

What about Jay Cutler?

Detroit defense takes on the 49ers. 49ers offense has not been. Not. Not something that's going to hurt you if you started defense.

Right. And why I kind of like this matchup a little bit more is it's in Detroit, I believe. Let me. Let me verify that it's correct. Yes, it is in Detroit. And while their defense hasn't was. They got a little bit beat up against the Saints. Detroit has been putting up points lately. If they put up points on San Francisco and you put Blaine Gabbard in a situation where he has to keep up, there's going to be turnovers.

I was watching the game with. I got the in laws in town for a nice Christmas with the kids. I had to leave. I was watching the game with my father in law and I had to leave. I couldn't, I could not be around people. I was so frustrated last night.

We're not on some other, some other place at some, you know, big network that's concerned about all these other things. We're concerned about fantasy football.

And we burned down with the. Just like you do and that you were not happy, man. That cost you some money and it cost you some. You know, you'd rather been blown out, right?

I don't know. I just. Oh yeah, it was, it's.

It's been a tough fantasy playoffs for me. You guys followed my team through the tough start, right? And I said stay with me. I started 14 in our big league right where Mike and I had been in the title game against each other three, three years in a row. One and four turned into. I think I ended eight and five, made the playoffs, won my first round playoff matchup over Mike, took on Jason after losing Rawls and Jonathan Stewart. But the injuries beat me up this year, man.
