Jason Moore
Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright.
Mike Wright
Hello, everybody.
Andy Holloway
Hey.
Mike Wright
We're back again. It is Wednesday, September 23rd, week three of the Fan fantasy football season. And we are back, as always, every day talking fantasy football.
Andy Holloway
Every day. I do.
Mike Wright
Every day.
Jason Moore
I'm hustling.
Mike Wright
Continue.
Jason Moore
I don't. That's all I know.
Mike Wright
It's a good week.
Andy Holloway
I believe it's, you know, shuffling.
Mike Wright
Do you think that people. If you are owing to. Here's your quick question for the day. If you're owing to. Are you. Are you freaking out? I think, I mean, Jason, I'm directing this at you. You specifically, because in. I believe in our. Oh, I can't even say this.
Andy Holloway
Yes, you can.
Mike Wright
No, because this is me, too.
Andy Holloway
Oh, no, continue, please.
Mike Wright
If you're. If you're on two, are you freaking out?
Jason Moore
No. I mean, it depends on who's on your roster, obviously.
Andy Holloway
What league are we talking about?
Jason Moore
I think Andy.
Andy Holloway
What kind of a league?
Jason Moore
Mike, why don't you go ahead and talk right now?
Andy Holloway
I think we're referring to the listener.
Jason Moore
League, the listener league, where both Andy and myself are finding ourselves against. Here's the great, incredible odds. No, we're finding ourselves against incredible players because the people on our listener league all know what they're doing because they're listeners of the show. I love playing against the Foot club.
Mike Wright
I would have won this week had I started Steve Smith instead of Joke Bell. I don't know how Joy Bell ended up in my lineup, but he did.
Jason Moore
And I would have won this week if Vonta Davis didn't go down with an injury. And Brandon Marshall, I just. A couple points. I was so close.
Mike Wright
But you're not answering the question. You should not freak out at 02.
Jason Moore
No, you should not freak out and you should not sell all of your players that are underperforming. I have Lamar Miller. I've got Greg Olson, and I'm not looking to trade those guys. I might bench them and hold on to him for a couple of weeks. Especially Lamar Miller. He's got A nasty schedule coming up.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Hot tip for Lamar Miller coming up on the Platter. Lamar Miller against the Buffalo Bills, followed by the New York Jets.
Jason Moore
Bench him.
Mike Wright
That's a problem. I would bench him. Yeah, that's a great point. I would not play Lamar Miller if I had a better option, that's for sure. Or even a comparable option just because I drafted him high.
Andy Holloway
And, man, just to jump in with you guys, I would have won this week in the listener league. Oh, I did.
Mike Wright
Thank you, Mike.
Andy Holloway
Two and.
Jason Moore
Oh.
Andy Holloway
Two and.
Mike Wright
Oh, always here to. Well, you're just here.
Andy Holloway
We celebrate greatness on this show, so I'm brought up a lot.
Mike Wright
If you want to follow the show, you can do so at the ffballers. You can visit our website, the fantasy footballers.com, where you can check out all of our articles, our weekly rankings, which will be up there today on Wednesday, which for week three. And you can see who we would start and who we would sit and where we have certain guys. We have a lot of shuffling going on due to injuries. A lot of guys like Matt Jones that you want to know. Hey, would we start Matt Jones over Dion Lewis?
Andy Holloway
No. No.
Mike Wright
Would we start Matt Jones over Gio Bernard?
Jason Moore
No.
Andy Holloway
No.
Mike Wright
Okay. Not.
Andy Holloway
Not in. Not because of, say, because of how GEO is performing.
Mike Wright
Yeah. So those are the type of things you can see on the rankings. You can also visit our fantasy football community@jointhefoot.com get involved with the show. We're an independent podcast. We're broadcasting five days a week. We're also on YouTube and on the Fantasy Sports Network so you can learn more about us on there as well. So this week we've also got a preview show coming up. We have Thursday Night Football game between the Redskins and the Giants. We're going to preview that for you and all the fantasy implications. We have a Daily Dose DFS section coming. Our segment coming on Friday with Chris Meaney of the Fantasy Sports Network, and I believe next week we're actually going to have hall of Famer Marshall Falk on the show.
Andy Holloway
What?
Mike Wright
Yeah, Marshall Falk will join the Fantasy Footballers podcast and we're going to talk all sorts of things, but I really want to know what he's seeing from specifically some of the offenses around the league because we have our preconceived notions about which teams are going to be productive fantasy wise and in. And we haven't seen those things carry out. You know, Seattle struggled, Indianapolis has struggled, Philadelphia stunk. Yeah, Philadelphia struggled so very, you know, you never know what to expect. You Think you know, but you don't. And so some things you get right, some things you're just blown away with and you. You think things are going to be a fantasy game of the week and then broken clavicle and a terrible broken offense later and you've got about 20 points scored. So today is a mailbag show. We're going to be answering questions from the Foot Clan from the listeners, answering all of your week three questions. Any other thoughts? Anything's going on this morning?
Andy Holloway
Oh, man. Nope.
Jason Moore
Thanks for the input.
Mike Wright
See, Mike doesn't have much to say because most of the time he's just meditating on his own record.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I was thinking about it.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I know you a little bit. All right, let's get into the mailbag.
Jason Moore
Mailbag.
Mike Wright
And if you have a question, you can go to the website.
Andy Holloway
I'll say, honestly, what I'm really thinking about is a trade offer that has been sent to me. So I'm mulling it over right now.
Jason Moore
Why don't you bring it up on to the mailbag?
Andy Holloway
Oh, I don't know if I could bring this.
Mike Wright
I mean, we have a lot of listeners that could benefit from your advice.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Now that you've talked about it, let's.
Andy Holloway
That's a good point. I have been offered a trade of Daniel. This is who I have. Danny Woodhead, Jordan Reed for the struggling C.J. anderson.
Mike Wright
You've been offered C.J. anderson.
Andy Holloway
I have.
Jason Moore
I would take that.
Mike Wright
I would take it.
Andy Holloway
And that's where I am leaning. But then there's that Danny Woodhead magic. That is just.
Mike Wright
You mean because he's the sixth best running back in our league right now.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I'm getting that recency bias. He's on my roster, so I'm really buying into them. And there's just. Anderson's not looks good, man. And. But it's. Do I want to buy low.
Mike Wright
Yeah. For a lot of fantasy owners facing.
Andy Holloway
This and for a guy who is probably outperforming. So I'll let you know if I make a decision.
Jason Moore
You should ask your personal questions on the show more often because I feel like this is the first time in my life I've ever given you an honest answer because I actually do think you should take this trait because I'm there.
Andy Holloway
You will.
Jason Moore
It was easy for me to say because I felt like I was taking a listener question.
Mike Wright
Otherwise, I would say we dislike you on a deep level when you really. I was just about to muse about the fact there were days long ago. You remember this Jason Many years ago when he was a humble fellow.
Jason Moore
It's hard. I think I. I think I remember that.
Mike Wright
Not anymore. I remember the first year he ever played fantasy football and. And he got spanked. He was like 2 and 11 or something. It was great. Anyways, let's go ahead and answer some questions. If you have a question of your own, you can submit it to us on the website thefantasyfootballers.com click the submit a question button. You can also call us 302-464-TFFB. Leave us a voicemail question. Guys, we're going to be talking a lot of start sit questions. We'll start here with Rob in Los Angeles. He says, hey there. Loves the show. He needs to start. Two running backs and one flex from the following group is a standard league.
Andy Holloway
Two running backs.
Mike Wright
Two running backs and one flex from this group.
Andy Holloway
C.J.
Mike Wright
Anderson, which is perfect timing for your question. Latavius Murray, Dion Lewis, LeGarrett Blunt, Matt Jones, David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Jason Moore
It's quite the group.
Mike Wright
So who do you start? Who are your two running backs from that group? Because I have a hard time. I'm not going to sit Latavius Murray this week. Believe it or not, he is the top of that list.
Andy Holloway
For me, it's the Ravens.
Mike Wright
They're playing the Browns, and Murray gets a lot of work, and so Murray's in for me. Do you guys agree with that?
Andy Holloway
I do at this point. I agree.
Mike Wright
So the question then is, do you play CG Anderson this week or do you play one of the other options? And I do. I play CG Anderson and Latavius Murray. Those are my two.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I agree. I think the. The question for me is Dion Lewis against the Titans, but it's. You have that unknown factor of what is Bill Belichick going to do if it's a plus matchup? The Titans defenses is. I think they showed who they really were last week. But if Anderson is going to bounce back, it would be this week against a Detroit Lions defense that just looks confused without. And especially without sue there and Adrian Peterson just gashed them.
Mike Wright
So are you saying C.J. and Latavius?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I think I'll go with I'm.
Mike Wright
And then who's the flex out of those options then? Because he needs one flex as well.
Jason Moore
Fitz in there?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, Fitz was in there. I would say I'm not benching Fitzgerald.
Mike Wright
Really? Really? You would play Fitz over Dion Lewis or.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Jason Moore
What was the other option there?
Mike Wright
Blunt, Matt Jones, David Johnson.
Jason Moore
Yeah, Fitz would be My guy.
Mike Wright
Okay, here is a. I agree with you, by the way. Do I trade. Do I trade Jeremy Hill and or Justin Forset? So this is a panic alarm question is what it sounds like because people are expecting bigger things out of these early running back picks. So this is the sponge in da bus. Do I try to trade Jeremy Hill or for set? His other running backs are Ivory and Woodhead. That's. So both of you talk about Jeremy Hill and Justin Forset because I think for me, both of those guys are totally fine. I have no problem with either one. I know Mike has a little more hesitation about four sets.
Jason Moore
Not only am I fine with either one, but I in general would not be looking to trade either one because they don't have the value that they should, you know, get for what they're going to produce on the year. So depending on what the trade offer is, there are plenty of offers I have given the green light to this last week. But it's all dependent on what are you getting because in general, most of them that I see, you're not getting good value for four set. Because he hasn't been putting up the fantasy numbers that, you know, we hope and expect.
Andy Holloway
It's. I'll answer it this way. It's am I willing to sell low on a guy just to get rid of him? Because I'm that concerned on both of those guys. No, not even close. Not even close to selling.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I agree. This is a trade question or a possible trade question for Shane in the Bay Area. He said he's being offered DEZ and Alshon for Moncrief and Alan Robinson. Well, that is a weird trade, isn't it?
Jason Moore
2.
Mike Wright
Imagine saying that two weeks ago.
Andy Holloway
Say that again.
Mike Wright
Alshon and Dez for Moncrief and Alan Robinson.
Jason Moore
So here's what this trade point offered.
Mike Wright
Those two big names that are hurt.
Jason Moore
Here's what this trade comes down to for me. First, I've got to know that I've got an IR spot, right? Because if you don't have an IR spot and Des is going to be out for a long time, that's taking up a big bench spot and I'm probably not going to take two of those guys on. And then the other thing is, am I going to be able to withstand victories for the next few weeks if your team looks pretty rock solid?
Mike Wright
Did you say withstand victories? What does that mean?
Andy Holloway
Well, I can always withstand a victory.
Jason Moore
I mean withstand the schedule and get victims victories. Like, you know, if I can withstand two victories, I can't Possibly.
Andy Holloway
I cannot. Another victory, no more.
Mike Wright
I think even the way you. You clarified it is completely grammatically wrong. I think what you mean is, could you achieve two victories without the guy?
Jason Moore
Could I withstand the matchups with two injured guys to achieve victory? I did it. I got it.
Andy Holloway
Congratulations.
Mike Wright
Yeah, you got the teleprompter correctly.
Jason Moore
If I could do that and I've got an ir, then I take the trade. Otherwise, it's really hard for me to trade for two injured guys.
Mike Wright
I mean, I. Yeah, I'm not even going to add to that. That's exactly what I do. I'm not going to count DEZ out completely. And Jeffrey, I think, will be back in a couple weeks. So I probably would do the deal.
Andy Holloway
I would approach it. But you need to be okay. I mean, I'm preaching extreme caution with DEZ Bryant. You need to be okay with the fact of. What if he doesn't come back because everyone assumes, oh, eight weeks he's back. What if he does not come back because we've seen other athletes with this injury be shut down? Just saying.
Jason Moore
Also, eight weeks from now is. I mean, you're talking about almost fantasy playoffs. You have to be able to withstand victories.
Mike Wright
Oh, my goodness.
Andy Holloway
There's too many victories.
Jason Moore
Next question.
Mike Wright
Well, I. What you're saying though is, I mean, DEZ is the kind of guy at least where if he's back from an injury, he will be immediately involved. You don't have to probably worry about a bunch of weeks where he's a distraction. If he's coming back, he's going to contribute. All right. This email is titled Sharing a piece of the Cardinal Pie.
Andy Holloway
That's a delicious pie, Eric.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Number one scoring offense.
Andy Holloway
It's a delicious pie, Eric.
Mike Wright
In Seattle, he has a trade in mind to deal. Larry Fitzgerald and Ingram for C.J. anderson and Megatron.
Andy Holloway
Whoa.
Mike Wright
Whoa. Do it.
Andy Holloway
Fitzgerald and who?
Jason Moore
Ingram.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
And you get CJ and Megatron.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
I'm telling this will pain the Cardinal fans within us. You should cash in on Larry Fitzgerald's three touchdown game.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Mike Wright
That is something you do. Based on the history of the last four years of him not being the same elite fantasy option he was before that.
Jason Moore
Let me ask you some questions because I know where I stand. I've answered some. I've answered some listeners, some of our awesome foot clan out there. Larry Fitzgerald. Would you trade Larry Fitzgerald.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
For Ty Hilton?
Andy Holloway
Nope.
Mike Wright
No. Because I'm not a Hilton believer, though. So ask another one.
Jason Moore
I would. For Jordan Matthews.
Mike Wright
I would absolutely trade for Jordan Matthews. Yes.
Jason Moore
For Brandon Cooks.
Mike Wright
I would trade Larry Fitzgerald for Brandon Cooks.
Jason Moore
Those are the three guys. I was curious.
Mike Wright
I have great questions.
Jason Moore
I would personally trade Larry Fitzgerald for all three of those guys. My only hesitation kind of comes up.
Mike Wright
On Cooks and my hesitation was Hilton.
Andy Holloway
I would consider Jordan Matthews, but I'm. And you're not going to get three touchdowns a week from Larry Fitzgerald.
Mike Wright
But I'm telling you, Mike is biased on this question.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he is.
Mike Wright
He played him this week. He played him.
Andy Holloway
Look at, look. Of course I don't.
Mike Wright
We looked up the splits. We looked up the splits. They were.
Andy Holloway
No, it's not just. It's his last seven games. Those are, those just happened while the touchdowns are inflated, the yards and the catches. The reliable stat is there.
Jason Moore
Yeah, but the last seven games were still beaten by Ty Holton.
Andy Holloway
We were looking at season long with Ty.
Mike Wright
Trust me, I love Larry Fitzgerald. I think he is underrated as a, you know, as a weapon still in the NFL. And obviously target numbers pretty good this year so far. Eight and nine targets. Floyd coming off an injury, running game, missing Ellington. Now there are some things that you.
Andy Holloway
Like has not existed last year.
Mike Wright
Right. But I mean Fitzgerald as a career arc, 70 receptions, 80, 60, you know, he's, he's okay. But touchdown wise it's, you know, two. Last year when a guy scored two touchdowns last year, he already beat that last game. I just don't. One, I'm not going to buy in on one game. I want to trade him for a guy that can be a one like Jordan Matthews or Cooks or.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, and that's funny that you would trade him for Jordan Matthews though.
Jason Moore
No, but the fact doesn't have a.
Andy Holloway
Very big sample size.
Jason Moore
Here's the truth is that, you know, because there's this hesitation here. You can see that people are buying into the long term sustainable value of Larry Fitzgerald and you have to have that in order to be able to trade him. So I think he is the perfect trade high guy right now.
Mike Wright
Let me ask you something, Mike. Have you downloaded the free Sportsmanias app?
Andy Holloway
Of course. I've got my team in there.
Mike Wright
Do you have your teams loaded up?
Andy Holloway
Yes, I'm getting all my updates. It's fantastic.
Mike Wright
How long did it take you to put your teams in there?
Andy Holloway
30 seconds.
Mike Wright
Yeah. So fantasy seasons here. It's time to dominate your league. Much like Mike believes he dominates all of his leagues. You've got to get this app. We only mention apps on the show that we think really help people out and, and they're free apps that are simply tools for you to use. And this is a game changer for the die hard fantasy fans. So download the free Sportsmanias app. Listen, this was listed as a top five sports app in the country by USA Today. That means you too, Jason.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I got it. I've already got.
Mike Wright
I know. You were also referred to, Mike, in one of our listener reviews as the guy who likes to sing.
Andy Holloway
No.
Jason Moore
David Johnson.
Mike Wright
All right. To drop or not. Ready? Let's play a game. Oh, to drop or not? Kevin in Greenville wants to know Ryan Matthews.
Jason Moore
No.
Mike Wright
Would you drop Ryan Matthews to sign Matt Jones if that was your only option?
Jason Moore
I. That's a good question. I would rather have Matt Jones than Ryan Matthews. So yes, in theory, but there's just no way that there's not an extra wide receiver I would rather drop than Ryan Matthews.
Mike Wright
There isn't my question.
Jason Moore
There you go.
Mike Wright
Would you drop Ryan Matthews to sign. Let me find a name for you here. David Johnson.
Jason Moore
Yes. I mean I wouldn't. Again, I'm dropping whatever wide receiver garbage I've got on my team or a backup tight end or a backup quarterback because I want Ryan Matthews on there. But here's not the question.
Andy Holloway
A problem with Ryan Matthews is. Is actually just the Eagles offense as a whole through two weeks. I mean it's. It's a bottomless pit of destruction so far that we've seen and. But a guy like Ryan Matthews has value and if you drop him, he will be picked up. That whenever I think about should I drop this guy?
Mike Wright
Well, Matt Jones is going to get picked up too.
Andy Holloway
Yes, and I agree.
Mike Wright
You're saying you might be able to trade him.
Andy Holloway
Yes. And Ryan Matthews is a guy that I package in in a trade offer to. With. With another good player and get a. An upgrade.
Jason Moore
Slight.
Andy Holloway
At least a slight upgrade. But what I'm telling you.
Jason Moore
And then you pick up Matt Jones.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, and that's what I mean when I do the two for one. Not only are you trying to get an upgrade, a slight, at least a slight upgrade. Maybe the Demarco Murray, owner wants the handcuff, something like that, but you get the. And you get to clear a bench spot to pick up Matt Jones. Now you would have to do it quickly, obviously, but in a, in a vacuum, man, I think I would. I'd rather have Matt Jones at this point than Ryan Matthews.
Mike Wright
Here's a question from Ryan. In Germany, active duty military. So that's pretty awesome.
Jason Moore
Bonjour.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, sure.
Mike Wright
Darrell Rivas, who does he cover this week? The Eagles are facing him.
Jason Moore
I believe you mean Darren Revis.
Mike Wright
Yeah, his state farm twin, Darren Reavis is not active in this game. Actually. Darrell Rivas, who does he cover? Because the jets are playing very well in defense. I'd be very confident starting the jets defense even against the Eagles this week.
Andy Holloway
As would I.
Mike Wright
But who do you think he will be targeting? Is it going to be a matchup on Jordan Matthews? Would you. Would you worry about Jordan Matthews?
Andy Holloway
I would have some concern and I think.
Mike Wright
Does that mean Nelson Aguilar could have Eric Decker? Like, you know, when Vonte Davis shut down Brandon Marshall?
Jason Moore
I don't think it's going to be Jordan Matthews. He doesn't cover the slot that often and I feel like he's going to try to lock down other pieces. I mean, do you guys.
Mike Wright
I think he's going to be Jordan Matthews.
Andy Holloway
Who? Josh Huff, Riley Cooper, I mean Nelson Aguilar. You're going to put Reavis on the best player on the offense and that's Jordan Matthews.
Jason Moore
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mike Wright
So. So then the question becomes, do you bench Jordan Matthews this week?
Andy Holloway
No.
Mike Wright
If you have a comparable option. You still don't bench him?
Andy Holloway
No, because as we've seen with Jordan Matthews.
Mike Wright
No matter.
Andy Holloway
It takes about 45 seconds for her to get 10 fantasy points.
Mike Wright
You guys will like this question. Jeppy and Copenhagen writes in. He says he has a running back two problem because Joy Bell is underperforming.
Jason Moore
Oh, yeah.
Mike Wright
Alert. He should not be your running back too.
Andy Holloway
Hold on. Underperforming? On. On what level are we talking about? Where's the line?
Mike Wright
I guess compared to Abdullah, he's the same. But I mean against other running backs. Underperforming.
Jason Moore
He's not underperforming for where we thought he'd the year, though.
Andy Holloway
Well, Jason and I. Yeah, well, that's.
Jason Moore
What I mean when I say we. I'm always meaning you and me, Mike.
Mike Wright
This is when we really need to focus on his question.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Mike Wright
He has some decent receivers. Steve Smith, senior Landry, Hilton Moncrief. So should he trade one of his wide receivers for an RB2. Yes. Joy Bell is your RB2.
Andy Holloway
Yes, please do.
Mike Wright
Even I am not that delusional. Although I started Joyk Bell last week in one of my leagues which was.
Jason Moore
Just, you know, you could probably, you can probably find an easy value for not one of your main wide receivers. For a guy like a Danny Woodhead, I think that that's a guy.
Mike Wright
I mean, do I hold that hope for Joy?
Jason Moore
No, no, no. I don't think you do. I can see him having a good second half of the year. Touchdown opportunities maybe. But the problem is you have to get there first. And I don't just think about the.
Mike Wright
Teams that are 0 and 2 right now. Indianapolis, Detroit, Seattle, the Eagles, the Ravens. The fantasy options on all those teams are terrible right now. And part of that has not just been bad offense. It's been like unexpected game flow. And so the offense doesn't do anything we want them to do. Right. So Joyce's an RB one.
Andy Holloway
The problem with Joy is he's 29 and hurt. Well, not. He's not hurt.
Mike Wright
He's coming back off an injury.
Andy Holloway
So it just is.
Mike Wright
I will say this. If Abdullah had done something this past week and. And produced not running six times for nine yards but had like dominated, I mean it's over. The race is over there. I mean for. For a primary ball carrier. Ball carrier situation hit.
Andy Holloway
Breaking news. Do we have the button?
Mike Wright
Yeah, I do, but it's not working.
Andy Holloway
But you mute. Are you muted?
Mike Wright
No, I'm not muted.
Andy Holloway
All right.
Mike Wright
Breaking.
Jason Moore
Breaking news.
Mike Wright
It's not going to stop.
Andy Holloway
I have a new flex player this week and his name is CJ Anderson.
Mike Wright
Did you accept the trade?
Andy Holloway
I accepted the trade. I'm buying low.
Mike Wright
Wow. So he's your flex this week against. Well this, this should be mentioned because this is pretty incredible. Our main league is a three man keeper league. I guess it's. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Mike Wright
And we trade draft picks. These. It's 10 years running.
Andy Holloway
Big players get moved and believe it.
Mike Wright
Or not we don't. There's no money in this league which make like why are you playing? You don't need money in this league. This is a pride league. This is a people hang banners when they win divisions league. And Mike is facing his arch rival.
Jason Moore
This week, kind of. Arch rival.
Mike Wright
Well, arch rival is probably not the right word when you always win. Mike has never lost to him.
Andy Holloway
I really hope he's listening to this.
Mike Wright
And it is how many in a row now?
Andy Holloway
That's 10 wins in a row.
Mike Wright
10 wins in a Row against super.
Jason Moore
Competitive league and a good believable.
Mike Wright
It's just an embarrassment. And so the, the week leading up to this matchup is generally composed. I mean Mike is photoshopping pictures. He is taunting. Like even right now, whatever he's writing while he's not looking at microphone. See his screen right now, he is taunting.
Jason Moore
He is riding the trail of hashtag golden tears.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Andy Holloway
That's enough of our teams. Let's move on to fantasy questions.
Mike Wright
No, people like to hear that stuff.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Mike Wright
They do the Bradford experiment. This one from Matt in Iowa. Is it time to pull the plug on Sam Bradford and start streaming a qb? Yes and no. Yes and no. Oh, wait, are we fighting?
Jason Moore
No. I think I see what you're saying with yes and no, but I would say yes in the sense that I'm not going to stream him this week. I might not drop him. I might keep him on my bench and pick up another streaming.
Mike Wright
Exactly what I'm doing. I'm playing Carson Palmer this week. I got Bradford on my bench. I'm not. When the offense gets going, we. I'm not throwing out two years of Chip Kelly and the fact that his quarterbacks have been in the top five because they had two bad games, especially when it's a guy coming back off of an injury and a different personnel. So I'm going to give him a little time on my bench.
Andy Holloway
So yeah, that's. That leads me to the next question. Will you drop Sam Bradford or will you hold him?
Mike Wright
You would have heard him speak to that had you not been taunting your. Oh, I'm sorry. That was.
Andy Holloway
That's hilarious.
Mike Wright
Yeah, you missed it. You missed it.
Jason Moore
The answer though is that he would keep him on the bench.
Andy Holloway
Well, that.
Mike Wright
Yeah, it was just reiterating and I'm doing that. I'm going to keep him on my bench. I'm going to see what he, what he can do and probably, you know, he might be in a rotation for me with Palmer. Although Palmer is going to play for many weeks to come. And if you have Carson Palmer, you should play him because he's got some sweet matchups coming up. All right. Trade help Christian in St. Louis. Should I trade Ty Hilton, Frank Gore and Vincent Jackson? Okay, you got those? Hilton, Gore and Jackson for Alshon. Jeffrey, Todd Gurley, Bishop Sankey and Nelson Aguilar.
Jason Moore
Jeffrey. Jeffrey Gurley.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I do that deal.
Jason Moore
Wait, Jeffrey who?
Mike Wright
Sankey and Aguilar and I don't even care about those two. But if I, I would trade Hilton Gore and Vincent Jackson for Jeffrey And Gurley probably. No I wouldn't. I'm backing off. I'm backing off.
Andy Holloway
And here's the thing about Vincent Jackson.
Mike Wright
Almost didn't read Hilton's name we because.
Andy Holloway
We don't have news sections on Wednesday Austin Safari and Jenkins out four to six weeks. Mike Evans put up a goose egg and was mostly a decoy it seemed in week two as he recovers from his hamstring. Vincent Jackson alert now I know he had the week one where it should have been Vincent Jackson but Severian Jenkins took the touchdowns and the targets but Vincent Jackson think should improve a good amount for the the future weeks.
Mike Wright
I agree with that. I think. Yeah, I think I would hold off on that. I want to see what girly does and how long it takes him to get back to all right, let's go to Jake in America's did. Oh I thought I said Disneyland. It's America's Dairyland.
Andy Holloway
America's Disneyland.
Mike Wright
I was offered Jeremy Hill for Brandon Marshall. I would take this is a half.
Jason Moore
Point PBR league depending on your wide receivers and generally most people with Brandon Marshall have other good wide receivers because he was drafted a little bit later. I would normally trade Brandon Marshall for Jeremy Hill here.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Mike Wright
You would do that?
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Jason Moore
If I've got the wide receivers.
Mike Wright
I like Brandon Marshall. I would do it as well.
Andy Holloway
I like him a lot moving forward but Jeremy Hill's he's still running back one.
Mike Wright
All right. Freddie in Maine has a question about trading for stars. He says if you're a team with a lot of depth and are trying to turn a two for one to nab someone like Adrian Peterson, at what point do you worry about helping your enemy? Awesome question. Yeah, just went through this in our league. Really regretted my decision when I did it.
Andy Holloway
Which decision?
Mike Wright
Well, I don't even remember what you. I had Bradford and Brady after the draft and I was putting my my stock into Bradford and so a quarterback needy team came to me wanting a quarterback and I swapped Brady for a fifth round pick because to me it was, you know, I like streaming quarterbacks. It didn't matter. I've faced this many, many times. You see needs for other teams but at times if you just give them. He ended up starting Brady, winning with Brady. Now he's got a quarterback for the year. At what point do you worry about helping the people you're going to face in the playoffs? Do you ever wait to trade until you get massively overwhelming value or you just want to keep a guy so that someone doesn't have Someone still has.
Jason Moore
A hole somewhere early in the year. I'm less caring about that because I feel like you don't really know who the great teams are from one and two weeks. So. I want to make my team better. I want to get to the playoffs. Seriously? Yes. Yes. So if I can make a trade that makes me better, even if it makes someone else better, I mean, generally, that's what good trades do. They make both teams better. I'm just going to continually try to make my team better. If we're getting closer to the trade deadline. And I know, look, I've got a division mate and we've got a matchup coming up. And if I make this trade, it might improve me, but he gets better. That's when I start to care a little bit more.
Andy Holloway
Jason, if you improve your team, how will you withstand all your victories?
Jason Moore
I will withstand my victories.
Mike Wright
Oh, please. Twitter, Twitter, please grab a hold of withstanding victories here. I. It's the best phrase that may have ever been uttered. Do you know that if something happens, it can also happen in reverse? All right, Matt Jones. Question from Sam in Seattle. He drafted and stashed Matt Jones just for this reason.
Andy Holloway
Well done.
Mike Wright
Yes. But here's the question. Would you cash in on some Matt Jones right now if you needed a wide receiver? He already has Jeremy Hill and Latavius Murray. So what wide receivers do you think you can go snag? What are some underperforming wide receivers? You can go, snake. Would somebody take Matt Jones for Alpha and Jeffrey?
Andy Holloway
That's a doable proposition.
Jason Moore
An Alfred Morris owner or a Washington Redskins fan are probably going to pay quite a bit for Matt Jones. And so I would. I would target those teams first and look at. Look at who their wide receivers are. And if you can grab a good guy, I would. I would absolutely do it.
Andy Holloway
You could also do. It's a bit of a reach. I know, but if you have Matt Jones and you pair him with, let's say, a wide receiver, too, on your team, go talk to the AJ Green owner. AJ Green hasn't had a spectacular start like we had hoped he would. He's been okay, but that's a guy that you may be able to snag.
Jason Moore
Okay. Mike, would you trade. Would you trade Fitzgerald and Matt Jones for A.J. green?
Andy Holloway
Yes. Yeah. Because I see A.J. green as an upgrade.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
All right. Waiver pickup question from a guy.
Andy Holloway
That's great.
Mike Wright
That.
Andy Holloway
That trade, I bet, would go through.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Yeah. That's how you. You can make an improvement right now. Waiver pickup Question from. We'll call him Bee Jams in. In Portland.
Andy Holloway
I love jams. I love jams.
Mike Wright
Some B jams.
Andy Holloway
B side jams.
Mike Wright
Right.
Andy Holloway
Should.
Mike Wright
Great question.
Andy Holloway
It's the other side of the record.
Mike Wright
It is. There's no other meaning for it. Should I drop David Johnson for Matt Jones? Oh, man, isn't that a great question? I think I would hang on to David Johnson.
Andy Holloway
I think I would grab Matt Jones because I think he is. His value is coming soon and David Johnson you have. We have no clue when Bruce Arians is going to unleash David Johnson. It could be four more games and by then Matt Jones could be the starting running back.
Mike Wright
Well, Ellington will be back in four games too, so that might be a good point. Jason, I'm going to ask you this question. Juan in San Antonio is a Lacey owner and he needs a temporary replacement. Is it Starks or is it Dion Lewis? They're both on the waiver wire.
Jason Moore
It's Dion Lewis this week. I think the matchup is better. Starks has to play on against Kansas City and so I would go Deion Lewis against who? Is it Jacksonville, I believe.
Andy Holloway
Yes, the Titans this week? Yeah, I think it's. Oh, it's Jacksonville.
Mike Wright
Jacksonville.
Jason Moore
Now that's if you have to play. If you don't have another guy on your team and you have to play somebody this week. Otherwise, generally speaking, as the Lacey owner, I would rather have Starks on my team long term for, you know, another mistake or if this turns out to be a two or three week thing. But if it's just for this week, I would rather have Dion.
Andy Holloway
So he, maybe he, maybe he sits out this week or maybe he becomes a tough guy and he plays and he retweaks it and then he's out even longer. I would put Starks on my bench.
Mike Wright
All right. Starting quarterback in week number three backs in East Lansing, Michigan. Hey, guys, I went with Sammy Biscuits and Alex Smith in my draft. Boy, those looked a lot better after week one than they did week two. He wasn't sure if either was worth starting this week compared to a Dalton type of guy. He could get off of waivers. I know Jason likes Alex Smith this week.
Jason Moore
I can pretty much tell you right now that my full stream ahead later this week, I mean it could change. But I've already, I've picked him up, I'm playing him in some of my leagues. I like Alex Smith this week and I'm the person last week that thought he was going to come horrendously back to earth. And he did this week. I like the matchup. And so I'm. I'm fine. Rolling. Alex Smith.
Andy Holloway
Let's say I'm choosing between those two names of Alex Smith.
Mike Wright
Well, those three names.
Andy Holloway
Oh, what was the third?
Mike Wright
Sammy Biscuits. Alex Smith or Dalton off of waivers through.
Andy Holloway
Between those three names, I will go with Andy Dalton against the Ravens. Who was.
Mike Wright
I will as well.
Andy Holloway
Who were torched by Derek Carr.
Mike Wright
All right, here's a question. And this is from Tim in Gribson, Connecticut. He says it is an Arby fiasco.
Andy Holloway
Arby's fiasco.
Jason Moore
Oh, delicious. Someone's thinking Arby's.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
Free advertisement.
Mike Wright
I was going to say, like, I wanted, like, a check to appear from Arby's.
Jason Moore
I don't. I want a roast beef sandwich to appear from Arby's.
Mike Wright
Yeah. I would say if you cater our lunches on a regular basis. Arby's. We will probably just say that on the show. Every time.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
A payment of beef and cheese is a payment indeed.
Andy Holloway
That was literally gonna come out of my mouth.
Jason Moore
Oh, fantastic. And now you're thinking of.
Mike Wright
Okay, let's get back to Tim Arby's fiasco. I have. I have Murray, Morris, Ivory, and Stuart. I don't know which Murray he means.
Andy Holloway
I would assume DeMarco.
Mike Wright
Okay. He has DeMarco, Alfred Morris, Ivory, and Stewart. Is it worth giving up Sammy Watkins and Amari Cooper for either Anderson or for set? Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Oh, man.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
I think especially if you have DeMarco and you're a little shaky with Alfred.
Andy Holloway
Morris and I mean, I think you're okay. Honestly, you're probably right. We both like Jonathan Stewart this week. Correct?
Mike Wright
We do. And unfortunately, because I'm facing him in some leagues.
Andy Holloway
Well, and here's the deal with Jonathan Stewart. Oh, his production has been bad. He's one of the lead. Lead leading rushers. He just hasn't happened to score a.
Jason Moore
Touchdown, which is always going to be the problem because on the goal line, it's. Cam, I would not.
Andy Holloway
That's a valid point, but I'm just saying Jonathan Stewart is still an. Okay.
Jason Moore
I would not take. I think that your running backs are more fine than you think. The RB fiasco. I've seen way worse RB fiascos than Murray, Morris, Ivory, and Stewart.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, DeMarco. I'm still counting on DeMarco.
Mike Wright
You get some of that bad meat. That's an Arby's fiasco.
Andy Holloway
You leave that beef. We just lost the Arby sponsors.
Jason Moore
What did you do?
Mike Wright
Don't leave the beef and cheddar. Out. Okay, good problem to have from Amanda in Baltimore. She has beef Big Ben and Carson Palmer each week. Though she started the wrong one.
Andy Holloway
Yep.
Mike Wright
Which is part of the problem or not problem. Just part of the challenge with. Yeah, with streaming a quarterback. Although like she said, good problem to have with these two. Does she go with Big Ben who gashed the Niners and now gets Le'Veon Bell back versus a decent Rams defense? Or Carson Palmer who will be facing the gashable Niners that Big Ben just gashed.
Andy Holloway
So many gashes.
Mike Wright
So many gashes. Also, she adds that while keeping tabs on the game, she's saying the name David Johnson every single time he touched the ball, which is awesome. And really, at this point, my goal is for David Johnson himself to hear this on a regular basis at the Cardinal games.
Andy Holloway
That would be awesome.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
But I feel like we're ruining lives with that song.
Jason Moore
So this week, Ben Roethlisberger or Carson Palmer?
Mike Wright
Carson Palmer.
Jason Moore
I'm sorry, Amanda, we're a little split because I'm going Big Ben. So Mike, give Amanda the home run.
Andy Holloway
Oh, man. Carson Palmer at home is the ultimate hotness. So I'm going to go with Carson Palmer.
Jason Moore
There you have it.
Mike Wright
All right, grade the trade. Grade the trade Matthias in Vienna, Austria. We are getting international up, up in here.
Jason Moore
Bonjour.
Mike Wright
That is my bit has been. I know he stole your bit and I use it all the time.
Andy Holloway
No, I gladly hand off to Jason on this one.
Mike Wright
Sometimes Jason needs help.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Thank you guys.
Mike Wright
All right.
Jason Moore
You love me so much.
Mike Wright
Grade the trade. Matthias just traded Brandon Marshall for Ty Hilton. However, here's the caveat. It is a three year keeper league. What are your thoughts on this grade that trade?
Jason Moore
I give it an A if it's a three year keeper league or at.
Andy Holloway
Least a B plus Scott Hilton.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Andy Holloway
I'll go with a B.
Mike Wright
B. I will go with a C plus. I want Marshall this year, that's for sure. Yeah, and I play to win, so I don't.
Jason Moore
I don't think that. I mean, if Ty is injured and he's not able to get back, obviously that could be a big problem. But if he's able to get over that knee, I expect him to have a better year this year than Marshall. It's a much higher powered offense than the jets.
Andy Holloway
So not last night, on Monday night.
Mike Wright
I missed that for a second. Did you just say that you thought you would take Hilton the rest of the year over Marshall?
Jason Moore
Not in a water bet, but yeah, I knew where that was going because of the, because of the injury.
Andy Holloway
You know what?
Mike Wright
You know what? I think that's conviction when you're not willing to hurts.
Andy Holloway
Hilton is not his knee. It's. It's the emergence of Dante Moncrief. I mean, you have another reliable big play target on that team.
Mike Wright
That's all I've been saying about the Colts. And the reason I don't like Hilton is that he's a little bit of. He's like Dijon. Dijon Mustard.
Jason Moore
No, I. John Jackson.
Andy Holloway
Dijon Jackson.
Mike Wright
He's like D Jacks plus, like he's the better version of D Jacks. But he does this. He's not been. He's not A.J. green or Calvin Johnson or ODB or Julio Jones or Antonio Brown. He's not built that way. And so there are, you know, there are games that he drops off the map and there are games he scores three touchdowns.
Andy Holloway
And to be fair, Antonio Brown was not Antonio Brown until somewhat recently. Antonio Brown didn't come into the league and set the world on fire.
Mike Wright
That's fine.
Andy Holloway
Immediately.
Mike Wright
Yeah, you're right. Here's a question. Owners are going to face this. This guy owns Romo and Bradford. Would you drop one of them to sign another quarterback? Well, I think you can drop Romo.
Andy Holloway
I would drop Romo.
Mike Wright
Okay. If you have a question of your own, that is all the time we have on today's episode. But listen, we have, I think we've had 200 questions sent to us in the last eight hours. So if you want your question answered, we get to select some for the show, we answer some on Twitter, we answer some all over the place. But one of the best resources that we have available to you for submitting a question, there are two things that you can do. You can go to the website, you can submit your question, and if it's a kind of an urgent question and you need a guaranteed answer, we have an option there on the submit a question form to guarantee an answer from one of us. So we will answer your question. The other way that you can get an answer right away is to go to jointhefoot.com that's our fantasy football community where we have over 400 listeners involved in that community answering questions for one another, sharing perspective. We are in there answering questions as well. So if we didn't get to your question on the show today, it is not for our lack of desire to answer them. We just can't have a 12 hour show. It's just not very conducive to RB sponsorships.
Andy Holloway
And the the first ever Fantasy Footballers livestream is coming up on Friday.
Mike Wright
That is true. Where you will live participate with us.
Jason Moore
That's great for Patreon.
Mike Wright
Yeah. For on jointhefoot.com so that is it for today's show. We'll be back tomorrow with a jam packed week three preview show.
Andy Holloway
That's a great assumption that we survive the whatever food we eat. Maybe Arby's.
Mike Wright
Maybe Goodbye. I'm thinking maybe.
