To the Fantasy Footballers podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright.
Andy Holloway
Hello, everybody. Happy Friday. It is October 2nd. We are the Fantasy Footballers and we are back again, fresh off of a Thursday night Michael Vicking.
Mike Wright
Yep.
Andy Holloway
Or something like it.
Jason Moore
Really gross. Scoby snacks.
Andy Holloway
I. I will talk about that with sadness. So much sadness. We have a good show for you today. We have the second half of our fantasy forecast. We're going to preview the games for week four. We're going to talk about Thursday night Football, go through the news and notes, talk about some injuries. Guys, you need to start. Guys, you need to sit. We're also going to have our daily dose segment and spend a few minutes with Chris Meaney of the Fantasy Sports Network and talk about some DFS trends. I talked to him about some trends and some values this week in DFS and FanDuel. And we have some mailbags. So it's a jam packed show. It's a good show. You guys ready?
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
You excited?
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
How's your beard today, Mike? How's your beard?
Mike Wright
Soft.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Supple? Okay.
Jason Moore
That's some handsome fancy right there.
Mike Wright
I wanted to mention that your set, you. You said you have sadness about the game.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. You have the inverse, right?
Mike Wright
Say your sadness is my gladness. So we got the yin and the yang all balanced out.
Andy Holloway
Let's just talk about that right now. By the way, you can follow the show on twitter @the ffballers. We are on YouTube and the fantasy Sports Network. So waving to the camera, fellas, we. If you have a question, you can go to the website, the fantasy footballers.com, click the submit a question button. We answer them on the show. We're also on Instagram. Mike is snapping a picture right now of my sadness and his gladness and my hot notes. So here's the problem that I had. Mike and I are facing off in a league and he's got Justin Tucker. He's got Justin for set.
Mike Wright
And I have only players named Justin.
Andy Holloway
Only Justin. And then he has Justin Tuck. No, no, he has Antonio Brown and I need to try to survive this. We talked about the fact Brown might suffer from Vic Having a short week. Mike said that on the show yesterday and they, they were very vanilla in their game plan. And Brown fortunately dropped a touchdown and he. His streaks over.
Mike Wright
Yeah, the five for 50.
Andy Holloway
The five for 50 is over.
Mike Wright
Yeah, yeah.
Andy Holloway
However, and he had a streak by the way of 16 straight games of seven catches.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
So that's over. Antonio Brown did not have a big game and so we'll talk about that today. But my issue is that you gained like 15 points with this stupid overtime that never should have happened because Scoby should be able to make a field goal because he's a professional kicker and if he makes one of them, just.
Jason Moore
One, he doesn't need both.
Andy Holloway
Tucker went from six points in our league to 15 because of that four set. Gained another four or five in the overtime. By the way. Four set looked great. He gained. I think it was the second most yards he's ever gained in his career.
Mike Wright
Really? Yeah. I didn't do that.
Andy Holloway
So are we not afraid of him anymore?
Mike Wright
Justin Forsett is the.
Andy Holloway
They were super committed to the run, by the way.
Mike Wright
They were. And the snap for people. I saw Tally Farrow and Buck Allen in there. Look at the snap counts. The snap counts are insane. Justin force had over 60 snaps. The other guys had. I think in the teens they had.
Andy Holloway
What were called breathers. And even Buck Allen came in and failed on third and fourth down or second and third down on short yardage, giving him a breather. So for set looks very good. If you traded for him this past week, you bought them low. You're probably happy right now. Now, Jason, I'm going to give you credit because you came out and you said Heath Miller was going to be awful and he was awful.
Jason Moore
He was not good. And I'll remind you and announce to our listeners that off the air we actually made a water bet about Heath Miller. So I believe you will be getting the piper paid.
Andy Holloway
Not if all the other tight ends get hurt. This.
Jason Moore
That is. That is true.
Andy Holloway
Every single one quick question for the day. Then we talked about the game A but rest of the season, Antonio Brown is the wide receiver number. What?
Mike Wright
Well, I'm not going to go rest of season. Rest. I'll go rest of injury.
Andy Holloway
You're going to ignore my question and do something different.
Mike Wright
Well, because the season we don't know when Big Ben is going to be back.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Mike Wright
If Big Ben is back in four weeks, then Antonio Brown is back. But let's say rest of injury for me, Antonio Brown is wide receiver 8 to 10. I would say the he's still a one.
Jason Moore
I will say rest of season on the whole, Antonio Brown will be the wide receiver too from here on out, including the time with Michael Vick last night. You, when I was watching that game, I was like, man, Mike called this beforehand with how just, just the little timings that were off there and how you, everybody listening right now. If you do not have Antonio Brown on your team, you need to be making an offer for Antonio Brown because the owner could be scared off. And he was 2 inches away from having 100 yards and a touchdown. I mean, he dropped, he dropped a perfect pass for a 30 yard touchdown and then he had a 30 yard out that was just. He caught it. But his tippy toe was on the white just by a millimeter. I mean, you're talking about the same exact game, the same plays, the same short practice. Michael Vicky was a hair away from being a great performance and it's only going to get better as they've got practice, as they've got time.
Mike Wright
So they have a long time now. Yeah, it's not just Sunday to Sunday. They have Thursday to next Sunday. You have plenty of time. So I'm not panicking on Antonio Brown. I'm not, I'm not thinking that he's going to be the same receiver that he is with Big Ben, but I think he's going to be fine.
Andy Holloway
I think he as much as came out and said that he wasn't going to be the same guy or that the rapport can't. You can't just manufacture that he said that. But he knows that Vic does different things and he's Antonio Brown. He's going to get separation. He's going to make the catches night. That touchdown is a. Nine times out of ten he makes the catch.
Mike Wright
And we always talk about the squeaky wheel. Someone had tweeted there was this span of time where Vic was just going to Darius Hayward Bay because for some.
Andy Holloway
Reason he was probably more open first.
Mike Wright
Not when he was in double coverage. Yeah, Tony Brown is on the field. But they were saying Antonio Brown came off the field just furious, slamming his helmet. Michael Vick came and sat down next to him. Antonio Brown left. He said, I'm not having any of this with you, Michael Vick. Throw me the freaking ball.
Andy Holloway
All right, well, let's go ahead and get into the news and notes. We're going to catch you up on injuries and everything that's going on in fantasy.
Jason Moore
News and notes from around the league.
Andy Holloway
All right, I'm going to shoot through these quick Quick hitter type news and then we're going to get into the injuries and I want to know if you guys think these guys are going to play. So we're going to go one by one through them. We know that Joy Bell was held out of practice on Thursday. We know Brashad Perryman is now out indefinitely. Now this report is in dispute which this report about him undergoing PCL surgery.
Mike Wright
Oh, okay.
Andy Holloway
This is not, this is not accurate from my understanding. The report came out yesterday that he's undergoing PCL surgery. However, I believe Harbaugh said he was getting a stem cell injection and so for repairing of the knee. So I don't know if both happened. I don't know if one happened. But we do know that generally you don't play immediately after you have surgery of any kind. So he's still struggling. We don't know when he'll make get on the field. And Steve Smith got hurt yesterday, a back contusion. Took a helmet to the back and couldn't get loose. And you know, if he couldn't get loose, it was probably pretty significant. So Charles Johnson didn't practice on Thursday. What else do we have here? Okay, so Kristen Michael News. We talked about this off the show. We talked about it on the show.
Mike Wright
That's Kristen Michael Watch.
Andy Holloway
I just wish you had never said the drop comment because you would just be riding high on this potential. You like bailed a little bit.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Because there was. We had gotten the point.
Andy Holloway
But you've been the man. You've been the man on this. Jason Garrett said Kristen Michaels in the mix to be active. Generally. We want our.
Mike Wright
He's going to be active. The question is just will he get an opportunity. We still don't know that.
Andy Holloway
Okay, we'll talk about this with Andrew Luck. The Colts signed Josh Johnson this morning.
Jason Moore
Ruh Row.
Andy Holloway
That's not generally. Yes, that is the proper response. It's not normally a good thing.
Mike Wright
Well, Andrew Luck has barely practiced at all with his shoulder and I think his throwing arm. Correct.
Andy Holloway
Throwing. Correct.
Mike Wright
And so it, this is interesting because the, the Colts are have a very short week after this game. They're on Thursday night the following week. So against the Texans in generally you would think okay up against the Hogwarts that the, the Colts maybe they sit him because it should be. It's the Jaguars are Jaguars win.
Andy Holloway
The Jaguars win the game if Luck doesn't play, by the way.
Mike Wright
Right. And, and normally you're like the Colts will be okay except they're 1 and 2.
Andy Holloway
Yep.
Mike Wright
They have to Win.
Jason Moore
So I.
Mike Wright
This is an interesting situation.
Jason Moore
He was taken out of practice because during practice it got worse. And then they said, we're putting him on the shelf basically until Sunday, resting that arm. So there's no way to know. We will not know until then. So I guess we'll just have to wait for our McFly segment here in a second.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Pick up another guy so that you're in. In the build. You know, Derek Carr's price, sitting on waivers. You go grab him, have him ready to go. Last bit of news before we get into the rest of the injuries. Nelson aguilar has played 83% of the Eagles snaps this season, which is, I believe, 1% less than Jordan Matthews. Correct. His time is coming. That's just inevitable, I think. Doesn't mean he's going to be a superstar. Just means that he's going to have opportunity. And if you had to flex a guy, I'd be okay with it.
Jason Moore
If you had to flex any of the.
Andy Holloway
You're on bye weeks. You got some injuries in the wide receivers.
Jason Moore
Non. Amari Cooper, you know, rookie wide receivers. He's clearly the next guy to own.
Mike Wright
Who. Who do you want to hold right now in a gentle embrace? Nelson Aguilar or Devonte Parker? You can only have one of them on your bench. Which one are you holding right now?
Andy Holloway
It's got to be Aguilar just on opportunity.
Mike Wright
And Parker's opportunity is growing.
Andy Holloway
It is, but there's so many more mouths that seem to need to be fed there, so. And. And the. The guy feeding them is struggling. The team's struggling. I just. I don't know. I think for both guys will have impactful games this season. So if that answers the question. So anything else we want to need to mention before we go through the in or out?
Mike Wright
Nope. Let's do it.
Andy Holloway
Let's do it.
Mike Wright
What's it gonna be, McFly?
D
Are you in or out?
Andy Holloway
All right, I'm gonna shoot through these. Andrew Luck, in or out? What do you think?
Mike Wright
In.
Andy Holloway
Drew Brees, In. Jay Cutler.
Jason Moore
In.
Andy Holloway
Andre Ellington, Out. Now, the report this morning, I will say on Ellington is that he's probably playing. Oh, I came out early this morning that he's likely to start.
Mike Wright
Okay, then I'll.
Andy Holloway
So, I mean, you can take it on my word or you can, you know, follow it on your own, but Chris Ivory in. Yeah. Good. Good reports on him. What about Jonathan Stewart now? He did practice. He is practicing today.
Jason Moore
Then I would say in.
Mike Wright
In. Yeah. If you're practicing on Friday, you're probably playing.
Jason Moore
This has been a really easy list so far.
Andy Holloway
DeMarco Murray. What about Marshawn Lynch?
Mike Wright
Oh, here's the question mark. Monday Night Football in Pete Carroll in going classic NFL coach. So it's going to take all week to figure this out. And he's 50. 50. You need to have options. So this is. Let's say you're the Marshawn lynch owner. You didn't get Rawls. You need to figure something out. Make a guy you can put on your bench. Who should be available, either Eric Ebron or Theo Riddick. I think both of these guys are okay. Backup plans if you're one. If you want to wait for lynch. The. The game script could be great for Theo Riddick with the Lions going there like the. The Seahawks are very heavy favors right now. Of course, they were over the Bears, but it by, by halfway through the game. It could be Theo Riddick getting dump passes or Eric Ebron is. He's been. Okay. So these are options on your bench that you could have just in case.
Andy Holloway
Jason, would you rather have Fred Jackson or Theo Ritter?
Jason Moore
I'd rather have Fred Jackson as a. As a handcuff to Marshawn Lynch.
Andy Holloway
So if Monday comes around, lynch doesn't play, you'd rather play Jackson?
Jason Moore
Yes.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Because that's, that's.
Jason Moore
Now the real question, though, is going to come down to Joy Bell. So if Joy Bell is out, who would I rather have? I would probably rather have Fred Jackson.
Andy Holloway
All right, so let's talk about Joykin or out. What do you think?
Mike Wright
I think he's going to be out.
Jason Moore
Out. And I'm going to say in on Lynch. I don't think we answered that.
Andy Holloway
Lashawn McCoy out.
Mike Wright
Out. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I think he's going to be out. Then the other wide receiver there, Sammy Watkins.
Jason Moore
Out.
Andy Holloway
Okay, let's talk about what about Aaron Foster. Do we think he's going to start? Has anything changed since yesterday morning?
Jason Moore
I'm going out.
Mike Wright
I think. Out.
Andy Holloway
Okay. And I think he'll play Eric Decker.
Jason Moore
I'm going to go in. He's probably going to play S.O.B.
Andy Holloway
Alshon. Jeffrey in.
Jason Moore
In.
Andy Holloway
Alan Hearns in. Kenny Brett.
Jason Moore
In.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Devonte Adams has come out and said that he does not have a high ankle sprain. It's a low ankle sprain. He said that this morning.
Mike Wright
He's, he's, he's working it with his mental power right now. He's moving the sprain down.
Andy Holloway
So does he play?
Mike Wright
No, I don't think so.
Andy Holloway
No. Jordan Cameron.
Mike Wright
I think he plays yeah.
Andy Holloway
And then an update on Julius Thomas who did practice in a limited fashion this week, but he is officially out this morning.
Mike Wright
How fit is a so let's go.
Andy Holloway
Ahead and let's get into the fantasy forecast. Forecast. Let's talk about the remaining games that we didn't get to yesterday. Before we get to that, I want to remind everybody about the free Sports Manias app. Here's what I love about this app. Besides the ability to get the latest news on your team, to import your fantasy team from Yahoo, CBS Sports and espn, get personalized feeds for your players. And we also want to thank our other sponsor today, Topps and their new app, the HUDL app. The game we remember when we were kids. Well some of us remember you had the annoyance of going from garage sale to garage sale to find new trading cards. You don't have to do that because Topps has brought the hobby into the digital world. HUDL features officially licensed NFL digital cards. Fans can collect cards of their favorite players from their favorite teams. Watch your collection grow by opening the packs we all remember opening.
Andy Holloway
Oh yeah, it is the best, best Christmas I ever had. Opened a whole box.
Mike Wright
And the app isn't only about card collecting. You can play your cards and earn points in a real time daily fantasy style game based on how your players perform on game day. Andy Holloway
Awesome. Awesome. Let's get into the fantasy forecast.
Jason Moore
Fantasy forecast.
Andy Holloway
Alright. Let's talk about the Jaguars facing the Colts. Jaguars, yes, the Jaguars. We looked this up yesterday. We are getting our pronunciation game on. We've got Kristen Michael confirmed. We've got Larry Donnell and we have.
Mike Wright
The Jaguars and we have Nelson Aguilar.
Andy Holloway
Aguilar, yes. Yeah, we're all over this. These guys are going to love us. Now, the big fans of these, you know what's incredible is you can go to YouTube and you can type in just about any player's name or word and hear somebody pronounce it. So we're getting so much smarter. Our fantasy predictions are going up. All right, the Jaguars at the Colts. Blake Bortles, the injured Andrew Luck. Now the line in this game was the Colts were nine point favorites. If Luck doesn't play.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Matt Hasselback is still in the NFL and is going to start for the Colts.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
How would you adjust the wide receiver core in Indianapolis if Luck is not on the field? Do you, do you sit anybody you would have started before is the first question.
Jason Moore
I don't know that you sit them because I don't think it's going to take a drastic enough bump down. I mean if you were thinking about playing Andre Johnson maybe, you know, you sit him as probably the third option there. I'm much less excited about my start of the week in Dante Moncrief if Luck comes out of that game because I think then you, when a guy, a backup comes in, you tend to target that number one guy often. And so Ty Hilton might get a couple more looks.
Andy Holloway
Hayward Bay will catch passes somehow.
Mike Wright
I actually have this theory that I've talked about before that backup quarterbacks like backup wide receivers and we kind of saw with Michael Vick going after Hayward Bay.
Andy Holloway
And you think Philip Dorsett and Hasselbeck are running a lot of routes together.
Mike Wright
On the practice field or Moncrief.
Jason Moore
Well, but the difference though I agree with you. I think it's been proven time and time again that a lot of times that backup comes in and throws to the backup. But you've got Moncrief who's been running with the one he hasn't been practicing, you know, with Hasselback, whereas Philip Dorsett.
Mike Wright
You know, it's possible but I'm not, nobody's starting Dorset. No, no. And I'm playing Hilton. I'm still playing Moncrief with, with confidence.
Jason Moore
So. Okay, let me ask you this. You, you are the Luck owner Do you grab Hasselbeck?
Andy Holloway
No.
Jason Moore
Going up against a depleted Jaguars.
Andy Holloway
You send in the cat again?
Mike Wright
The cat.
D
Send in the car.
Andy Holloway
Send in the car. No, not at all. There's no way I would do that. I would start 25 other quarterbacks because of, I mean just the things that can go wrong and the fact you saw exactly what happened. This is why we didn't start Michael Vick. Conservative offense, run dependent offense, control the game.
Mike Wright
Well, hold on, let's say you're in a two quarterback league. So the wire, the wire is far, far scarcer. Now you're looking at Josh McCowan or Matt McCow back.
Andy Holloway
Okay, 100 out of 100 times.
Mike Wright
Well, that's a lot of a lot.
Andy Holloway
Out of a lot. Had a good game. He had 300 plus yards last week. He had a couple touchdowns.
Mike Wright
He also has the propensity to die mid game.
Andy Holloway
Well, you know, it's the NFL. So from the Jaguar side, Bortles is an okay streamer this week to me. Yeah, agree. You have Allen Robinson and Alan Hearns. Hearns was Jason's or, I'm sorry, Mike's start of the week because of the Vonta Davis factor on Allen Robinson. Vonte is probably a top three. You know, he's great shutdown type of corner. He really does have an impact on those. You know, very few have an impact on the number one receiver and not everybody will be impacted by Vonte Davis. But you saw it with Brandon Marshall, you've seen it with other guys this year. What about the tight end position because you have Dwayne Allen and Kobe Fleener.
Mike Wright
Well, Allen is right. Is still very questionable to play if Allen sits. Fleener is fine as one of those grabbing a guy off of the wire and because you need somebody. So you're a Gronk owner and you're just, you're just hoping to get a couple points.
Andy Holloway
Okay, so let's, let's go ahead and talk about the Eagles facing the Redskins. Do we have an update for listeners in terms of the prognosis, you know, whether this game is going on?
Mike Wright
Oh, with it, with the hurricane. I have not heard anything as of this morning.
Andy Holloway
Nothing new. Yeah, there, there have been a lot of people that are like, okay, do I drop? You know, I need somebody to start. I might want to roll out Aguilar, but I don't know what's happening with the, the hurricane situation.
Mike Wright
Right. Let's you, you guys talk about the game. I'll do some searching now.
Andy Holloway
Now, basically I did see a report here that Says that it will be played this weekend. It will not be postponed. Okay, so I guess that answers that question.
Mike Wright
They might.
Andy Holloway
It could be moved to Detroit if the weather doesn't cooperate.
Mike Wright
Detroit always gets these extra games.
Andy Holloway
I know. So. Okay, so maybe that solves that problem. Are you starting Bradford in any leagues?
Mike Wright
I think Bradford is okay this week against Washington. This and this could be the final, the final ride of Sammy Biscuits. But I really think the matchup, which.
Andy Holloway
Would be so sad with a nickname like that.
Mike Wright
I know. I think the matchup is. Is okay. The Washington, their past defense is ranked very high right now and maybe they really are turning it around. But I just, I'm leaning on the history that they've been been poor for. For a while now.
Andy Holloway
Jason, what is the value of Ryan Matthews if demarco Murray starts?
Jason Moore
Not good. The value is just potential that maybe you see more of a split workload based on Ryan Matthews doing well last week. But I wouldn't imagine that you could start him unless you have nobody else to put in say a flex position. But Murray practiced in full, so Murray's going to be back on the field. I expect that he becomes the primary ball carrier again. I don't see Chip Kelly changing his ways. The hope is that there is a split and going forward Ryan Matthews has value. But for this week, I don't think you can in any way confidently start Ryan Matthews and expect that.
Andy Holloway
Let me ask this question for the Murray owners out there. Demarco Murray or Latavius Murray this week?
Jason Moore
Latavius.
Andy Holloway
Latavius demarco Murray or Carlos Hyde?
Jason Moore
Hyde.
Mike Wright
I think I would roll demarco demarco.
Andy Holloway
Or Yelden.
Jason Moore
Probably go to.
Mike Wright
That's really close. But I'm going to upside of DeMarco.
Andy Holloway
Okay. One thing to mention about the Washington pass defense. D'Angelo hall is hurt.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
And he is now off the field and he's their leader.
Mike Wright
Is he out?
Andy Holloway
Three to four weeks at least.
Jason Moore
In addition to that, they're great past. They had Ryan Tannehill week one who struggled. I mean he's been not that great this year other than one week. And then they played against the Rams in week two. Nick Foles is not exactly lighting anyone up. And then Eli came in and had a pretty good game, you know, almost 300 yards and two touchdowns. So when we look at their past and say, oh, they're a top end pasty, I think that's a little hollow. Especially losing Hall. This could actually be a decent matchup for Sammy.
Mike Wright
Sammy Biscuits.
Jason Moore
Especially if you're talking dfs because I think this is a week where people are not going to be in on him. So if you're going not in head to heads but if you're going in more like, you know, big pool GPPs, people are off of biscuits.
Mike Wright
You get that? Sammy Biscuits. Jordan Matthews stack.
Jason Moore
This might be a biscuits and gravy type of week, you know what I'm saying?
Andy Holloway
I liked it. I really hope he has a good week so we can continue to speak about him on the show. All right, let's talk about the Browns and the Chargers. We, we will see the epic Philip Rivers, Josh McCown face off play.
Mike Wright
Jordan Reed.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, absolutely. You start Jordan Reed.
Mike Wright
I'm not starting a Philly tight end right now.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Mike Wright
And do you start Darren Sproles in PPR formats?
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
We also, we got to talk, you know, if you're the Alfred Morris owner.
Andy Holloway
Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah, you're right. I skipped over the running backs there.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
So Washington State.
Jason Moore
What are you going to do if you own both? Who are you starting if you have to start one of them?
Andy Holloway
Matt Jones. You have switched in this game. I am Matt Jones. It could change.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I agree with that. If you have to start one of these guys, I think Matt Jones has been, has already shown that he's probably going to be the more explosive, highest.
Andy Holloway
Potential for a big game. If you need, you know, if you need a rumbling eight points, then Alfred Morris is the way to go.
Jason Moore
So who would you rather start, Darren Sprols or Matt Jones?
Andy Holloway
Matt Jones.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Mike Wright
I agree with that.
Andy Holloway
Especially with the DeMarco. You know, you took DeMarco out the field, that that argument becomes PPR dependent. Probably. Anybody else that we need to mention there before we talk? Browns, Chargers.
Mike Wright
Nope.
Andy Holloway
Very high on Philip Rivers this week. Think he's a great start. We, we put an article up on the site about Travis Benjamin. In his current pace, the amount of snaps, the amount of catches, you know, on targets, you know, it seems like it's a mirage. Are you starting Travis Benjamin though?
Mike Wright
I'm.
Jason Moore
I'm not going to start Travis Benjamin. I believe that he could be a viable flex option and do all right. I'm just not going to start him because I think when I look at all the players in that tier at Flex, I would rather have other guys. I mean, you know, he's being talked about with like a Stevie Johnson and I would much rather have the known factor of. I believe the offense is going to produce a lot more on other teams than the Travis Benjamin and Travis Benjamin, I think started last year in the first couple of games with like three or four touchdowns, just like this year. And it said in that article we post the rest of the year pretty much was completely worthless. Which is why coming into this year, you didn't know who Travis Benjamin was.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I don't. I don't. I don't play him. I bench him. But let's say this. If he has another okay week, then maybe I'll start buying it. I'm just. Still not.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I mean, it's tough with a production that is so touchdown dependent and big play dependent. So to answer that though, Travis Benjamin or Michael Crabtree?
Mike Wright
Crabtree for sure. Have you heard the numbers on Crabtree about his targets inside the 10 yard line?
Andy Holloway
Nope.
Mike Wright
10?
Andy Holloway
That's a lot. How many touchdowns?
Mike Wright
I don't know.
Jason Moore
Actually.
Mike Wright
I've looked on.
Jason Moore
He only had that one game is one.
Mike Wright
But how this is could just be a mirage. But how many targets inside the 10 does Amari Cooper have?
Andy Holloway
Well, Cooper scores from about 60 yards away.
Mike Wright
Just saying zero is the answer.
Andy Holloway
That's interesting. No, that's. I mean, at a minimum car trust Crabtree. Crabtree performed well in preseason and he's performed well so far. Target numbers wise. If Carr succeeds and he continues to ascend as a quarterback, both guys are going to benefit from it. And a lot of the times that means Crabtree is going to be the value to you, whether it's in DFS formats or in as a spot start for bye weeks. You know, Crabtree is probably a guy you can roll out there in the right matchup. So Travis Benjamin or Pierre Garcon?
Mike Wright
Garcon.
Jason Moore
Garcon for sure.
Andy Holloway
Brandon Cooks.
Mike Wright
Cooks.
Andy Holloway
Ruben Randall.
Mike Wright
Rubes.
Jason Moore
Randall.
Andy Holloway
Where do I get down? Michael Floyd.
Jason Moore
Benjamin.
Mike Wright
Benjamin.
Andy Holloway
Richard Matthews.
Mike Wright
I'll play Matthews.
Andy Holloway
All right. The Browns are 14th against the past. They're dead last against the run. I think this means good things for Melvin Gordon.
Mike Wright
It sure does. I like Melvin Gordon a lot and I like Woodhead a lot.
Jason Moore
Yeah, last week we were pretty high on the on the San Diego run D. And if you aren't aware, if you just look at the box score and you see that, oh, they didn't really have a good game. That was not indicative what happened in the game flows. Both of them. Come fourth quarter, neither one of them played another snap because they were just down so much. They took the running backs out. What that says to me is that these running backs health is important to them. They see them as valuable cogs in the offense. So don't get down from last week and think Melvin Gordon and Danny Woodhead aren't good options because they didn't put up points last week. It was a fallacy.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I love Gordon this week and we'll talk to Meanie about it as well.
Mike Wright
Nice.
Andy Holloway
All right. The Vikings face the Broncos.
Mike Wright
Breaking news.
Andy Holloway
The bad News Broncos.
Mike Wright
No, no, no. Breaking news Bears EL Sean Jeffrey now expected to miss third straight game due to hamstring.
Jason Moore
I'm so glad you did not trade him to me this week, Andy.
Andy Holloway
Well, what difference does it make?
Jason Moore
It makes no difference.
Andy Holloway
This is why I traded for Mike Evans. Looks like TJ Eldon's getting a start in my lineup this week, Mike. I don't know if that's good or bad for you. We'll see.
Mike Wright
That's great.
Andy Holloway
The Vikings face the Broncos. Now, the Broncos are about seven point favorites. Manning dubbed them the Bad News Broncos this week because, you know, has his 30 team ever seemed so kind of unsure of itself or the world seemed unsure of it? You know, Manning is moving to the shotgun. They're learning this offense, but their defense is so good. They're the number one pasty. The six run D. I don't think that changes. Von Miller's outstanding. So from a offensive perspective, let's talk about the impact that that kind of a defense will have in Denver against the Vikings. Because I wouldn't expect that we're starting anybody except for maybe, you know, obviously ap.
Mike Wright
Yeah, you start Peterson, but you do you temper expectation? Yes, yeah, absolutely. The Denver, the Denver run defense is going to be a gigantic problem for the Vikings. I mean, yeah, Adrian Peterson, he can bust off at any time, but I just. With, with that pass defense being able to shut guys down, the Minnesota passing game is just. Is non existent right now. Teddy Bridgewater has. Is a large disappointment in fantasy and Charles Johnson is banged up. Not that we have seen really any Charles Johnson sightings, but it's just if that is shut down by the corners of Denver, which I think that those guys can do it like Taliban. That's trouble for Adrian Peterson this week.
Jason Moore
You know, their run D has actually been. The Denver defense as a whole has been excellent because of their incredible pasty and because of their pass rush. However, they have given up, you know, several touchdowns so far this year. And I think that the reason for that is because you just can't pass on them. You have to run. And so this could be, you know, I'm not tempering too much of the expectations on apartment because he's going to get the workload just like we saw against San Diego where they had a good past D and they used the rush like crazy.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I have no problem with AP and Jason makes a good point. They're sixth against the run statistically, but fantasy wise, they're actually 21st against opposing running backs because running backs have scored three touchdowns on them in the year. And you know, the last couple weeks it's been mid-20s for running back production. So. Not that you're sitting AP, but.
Mike Wright
No, no, no. There's no one. I'm sitting him for the. So what, what do we do with CJ? Mr.
Andy Holloway
I was about to make a prediction about CJ Anderson.
Mike Wright
Mr. Anderson.
Andy Holloway
I think Anderson has a over 100 yard game this week.
Mike Wright
Oh, I love it. I love it.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I think it's time for that offense to find its rhythm. And the passing offense, the ability to do, to, to play action pass is very important for Manning. And I think Anderson just needs to be healthy for more than about four snaps in a row to let them find a rhythm and do what they need to do. Now we'll see if he can run it out of the shotgun. We'll see if he has the burst that he needs to have. Hillman will spell him a little bit, but I'm expecting good things against the Vikings. D that ranks 24th against the run.
Mike Wright
I love it.
Andy Holloway
All right. And in Denver, so the packers are facing off against the 49ers. I don't see a way that the 49ers can win this game. I can't conceive it based on what we've seen the last few weeks, the ineptitude on the offensive side of the ball for San Francisco and the fact that they'll need to score points. The over under on this game is 48, which I think is the highest. That being said, that's got to be very packers heavy. Packer heavy.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Oh, how the 49ers fans are. Want that DeLorean to go back to week one. Week one was a great time to be in San Francisco.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, not so much anymore. You know, you can't start a wide receiver for the 49ers, can you?
Jason Moore
No way.
Andy Holloway
You can now. You're going to see Reggie Bush come back. We talked about this yesterday. I mean, if anything, it hurts Hyde a little bit. You're not starting Reggie Bush.
Mike Wright
No.
Andy Holloway
You're not starting Vernon Davis.
Mike Wright
No.
Jason Moore
But I don't even think Vernon Davis will play. He's pretty injured right now, still missing.
Andy Holloway
Practice and you're not starting Colin Kaepernick. You got better options.
Jason Moore
Colin Kaepernick can run on them. We saw that with Russell Wilson. So the one thing I will say is that they're going to be down. They're going to have to be in throwing situations. And Kaepernick's probably going to run for 60 or 70 yards this game. So it gives you a decent base.
Andy Holloway
47 to 7 last week, but.
Jason Moore
And how many? 47 to 7. How many?
Andy Holloway
I mean, I'm just saying, his fantasy success, we've seen it go both directions on the blowouts. Pittsburgh, they were being blowed out. He had garbage time last week. They're being blown out. No garbage time. Very, very bad game for Kaepernick. I think he had six total points and that was with a touchdown, so.
Mike Wright
But do we. Do we buy into the history of success that Colin Kaepernick has had against the Packer franchise? No.
Andy Holloway
No, No.
Jason Moore
I don't either.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Andy Holloway
I don't. I've never been a big, like, you know, fan of those type of statistics over years. Like, it just. They just seem odd to me. You know, at least in baseball when those type of things happen, you're going into a stadium that's built a certain way with a certain dimension. I mean, you're playing on the same field, different people on the team.
Mike Wright
I don't know, these things just, they. When the streak happens, they tend to continue.
Andy Holloway
Give me a bunch of other. Give me a bunch of other quarterback options. Personally.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I agree. I'm just.
Andy Holloway
James Jones is a wide receiver.
Jason Moore
High end, wide receiver. 2.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I'll go low. 1.
Andy Holloway
I wonder if he's just at home giggling now. James Jones, the place that he was in last year versus now Randall Cobb. Three. Four more touchdowns.
Jason Moore
I gave him two this week.
Andy Holloway
Did you really?
Jason Moore
I really did. I started two touchdowns.
Andy Holloway
Look, if Rogers is going to throw for four, they got to go somewhere there.
Jason Moore
They do.
Andy Holloway
So anything else about this game you want to jump out and scream?
Jason Moore
Nope, not especially.
Andy Holloway
All right. The Rams are facing Arizona. Arizona is at home. The over under this game is lower. It's a 42 point over under. Mike, you've been very open with the fact that you think Palmer stays hot. Yes, Palmer, despite the fairly solid Rams defense.
Mike Wright
Well, they've been okay. I think the. That especially the running. If you can run on the Rams, which teams have been able to do. And a big difference for the Cardinals is they've been able to run this year. I'm not sure if it's just the passing game is open to run or if it's just the line is finally getting it together. But if the Cardinals can run and then you can play action pass, they're going to be unstoppable.
Jason Moore
Okay, so Ellington is set to start. The Rams have been giving up running yards but not passing. They've been very good against the pass. They've been so good against the run. So my question here is Ellington starts CJ2Ks looked good. Who do you start and do you have confidence?
Andy Holloway
None of them either.
Jason Moore
That's. That's where I'm going. This might not be.
Andy Holloway
I don't start any Arizona Cardinal running back if I have a better option, which I mean is I guess a stupid thing to say, but I think I'll have a better option is the point.
Mike Wright
Let's say you over the Ellington owner and you handcuffed with CJ2K.
Andy Holloway
Who do you play this week if Ellington starts? I play Ellington, but I don't want to play either.
Mike Wright
Well, but you probably don't have to.
Andy Holloway
Choose if you had to choose. Yeah.
Jason Moore
So far the Rams have not given up more than. More than one touchdown in a game through the air and more than 250 yards total in a game. And they played Big Ben. Granted he went out in the fourth, actually in the. I think mid in the third, but he hadn't done anything of note on them beforehand. So they played Russell Wilson. So I'm not sure that I love the Cardinals from a fantasy perspective other than their defense. I would love to play the Arizona Cardinals fantasy defense this week and I know I'm disappointing here for the Arizona fans.
Mike Wright
No, I know that's. You have to state your opinion.
Jason Moore
I just saw your frown face.
Andy Holloway
My frown face is because I'm facing the Cardinals defense this week. Mike has got the Cardinals. I'm like agreeing with you.
Jason Moore
A guaranteed.
Andy Holloway
The Cowboys are facing off against the Saints. We got to get through these two matchups here. We still got some dfs and some mailbag. The Cowboys are facing off against the Saints. The Brandon Whedon show continues. Do you guys have your tickets? Yeah, they're. They were really counted.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
This is. This could be the Weedon McCown battle. But Breeze is gonna play. So when I have to worry about.
Mike Wright
When I was putting in the line, the Saints are favored by four points. I thought there's no way that's possible. Oh yeah, I forgot. Brandon Whedon. I forgot.
Andy Holloway
I like. I like Ingram as a. You know that RB2 with the very high floor get you solid numbers every week. Do we like Randall? We have to start Randall, don't we?
Mike Wright
You do. I'm going to. Do you play Joseph Randall? Until otherwise noted. But I will be closely watching this.
Andy Holloway
Game for Kristen Jason.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Andy Holloway
Do you play Williams for Dallas?
Jason Moore
Yeah, yeah, I do play Terrence Williams.
Andy Holloway
Even with the gooser last week, there's.
Jason Moore
There's no way that in two games he's not going to throw a pass to a wide receiver. And when it is a wide receiver, it's going to be Terrence Williams. Now I don't put him in as a wide receiver, one or two, but he has a flexible start here. This is a beatable defense and I expect Terrence Williams to have a bounce back game. You want to know who I'm really excited about for this game though?
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
Is C.J. spiller. C.J. spiller has been the missing man right now. He came back off of injury, got lost.
Andy Holloway
That's a good reason to be excited.
Jason Moore
Well, no, I'm excited to.
Mike Wright
He's on a mill player.
Andy Holloway
He's missing.
Mike Wright
He's missing.
Jason Moore
This man is excited for Kristen Michael. I am much more excited for CJ Spiller to do Spiller.
Mike Wright
I'm not playing real this way but.
Jason Moore
To watch, I'm not playing C.J. spiller either.
Andy Holloway
Those would be fun. Three plays.
Jason Moore
I'm saying that C.J. spiller, we're going to see how they're going to use him for the first time this year.
Andy Holloway
Why would we see it now? Not last week? Because of Drew Brees.
Jason Moore
Because of Drew Brees, because of matchup, because of health. Those three things are reasons. This is a matchup where they can start using them. Also Sean Payton said after last game I made a mistake and not getting him in more. He said that.
Mike Wright
Oh, he went. He went full Andy Reid.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he went full Andy Reid. Which makes sense because if you look at how the season started, how they couldn't use Spiller because he was out, then they had a terrible matchup for Spiller. They haven't worked him into the game plan the way that they. When they went out and signed him and sought after him, we were very high on him. I expect his usage to be shown this week and to figure out what we've got in C.J. spiller, for me, he's a target. I would go target him before this game.
Andy Holloway
All right, so the Monday night game, the Lions go to Seattle. Seattle's a 10 point favorite. Stafford is going to play the running game for Detroit. Do you start Abdullah? I mean do you just.
Mike Wright
Can you really call it a running game?
Andy Holloway
No, you can't.
Jason Moore
The running back game. The running backs used just however they're going to use him through the air.
Andy Holloway
Look, the offense. If you can't run the ball, you can't play action pass. If you can't play action pass, you take away what Stafford does best, which is throwing the ball off a play action pass to Calvin Johnson or Golden Tate. They've got to figure the running game out. Maybe accidentally they'll figure it out this week because Joyk will be out and they'll, you know, and maybe it's going to be short passes. Maybe it's going to be those like swing passes that are a fake running game, so to speak. And, and they just do something to get Abdullah involved.
Mike Wright
Free Abdullah, Detroit.
Andy Holloway
I'm okay with Abdullah this week. Even against Seattle. Just from a. I mean, somebody has to pick up yards. The offense isn't the worst.
Jason Moore
Yeah. If Joy Bell's out, you can start Abdullah. You just can't expect him to be, you know, a monster.
Andy Holloway
Abdula or Yelden.
Mike Wright
If Joyka's out. Either way matter for me. Yelden.
Andy Holloway
It's got to be Yelden, right?
Jason Moore
It would be Yelden. If Joy's out, it would be Abdullah.
Andy Holloway
It would be.
Jason Moore
Yeah, absolutely.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Jason Moore
I think if Joyka's out, they're going to have to give all the first and second down touches to Abdullah.
Andy Holloway
No, Riddick will be on the field.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
On third down and through the air. I don't think he gets first and second down touches.
Andy Holloway
Okay. I wish we could somehow water bet that tough one. So I can almost guarantee you who will be. The Lions are very bad on defense right now. So how do we feel about Russell Wilson so far? He's been okay fantasy wise through three games.
Mike Wright
Yeah, he's a fine play.
Andy Holloway
Any wide receivers you're starting here from Seattle? Baldwin?
Jason Moore
I, you know, I don't enjoy playing the roulette Seattle wide receiver game. So.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I like, I like Jimmy Graham a lot.
Mike Wright
I know you do.
Andy Holloway
So I've been trying to get him in a lot of leagues. He had a good week last week. Their offense is going to need to use him more and more and more and especially if lynch isn't the goal line threat that he normally is because of injury or those type of things. So I think Graham has got a lot of upset.
Jason Moore
It's possible.
Andy Holloway
All right, let's go ahead and take a few minutes and talk some dfs.
Jason Moore
The Daily Dose.
Andy Holloway
All right. The fantasy footballers are excited to welcome in Chris Meaney once again this week, talking dfs. How you doing, Chris?
D
Good, guys. Thanks for having me. Ready to move on to week four, talk a little DFS football.
Andy Holloway
I know, I know. Nice picks last week.
D
Not bad. A lot of people around the office kind of saying what. What the heck was going on with you with Gary Barnage? But I think really what we found out, guys, is that Oakland just does not do well against tight ends. That's five touchdowns in three games. Now they've allowed to tight ends in just about 300 yards. So it's just something to keep an eye on moving forward.
Andy Holloway
So Martellus Bennett then?
D
Yeah, I mean, Martellus Bennett, sure. 55 Again, going to be another nice option. Whatever it is, maybe Oakland will figure it out, but they're not. They're not looking at the tight end. I mean, Gary Barnage actually watch that game. He should have had two touchdowns. They left him wide open in the red zone and McCowan just threw it over his head. So again, I do like, I do like Martellus Bennett at 55 and it doesn't even matter if it's Cutler or Clause and throwing the ball. I just think that, you know, even if it's Clausen, I think he could rely on his tight end a little bit. So I think that another good price for Bennett at 55 this week against Oakland.
Andy Holloway
Okay, so Bennett is a good pick. Let's talk about this. We're kind of, you know, heading into week four. Are there some DFS trends that have existed where, you know, people are kind of starting the same type of guys or some things that you've paid attention to in the DFS world that our listeners should know about?
D
Well, I do. I have noticed this week that a lot of people are big on Oakland, Derek Kerr and, you know, big on Latavius Murray, and big and big on Amari Cooper? I think. You know what, I like all three of those guys as well. And I really, really like Derek Carr this week at $7,000 against Chicago. I think he's got a fantastic matchup. But obviously here on the FanDuel show at Fantasy Sports Network, we're having people come in every day with lineups. And you know what? Derek Carr and Amari Cooper has been in just about every single one of them. It's really interesting. And you know what? In cash games, I like it. Head to heads, I like it. But if you're going to play in a big tournament, I don't necessarily like it. I, I notice a lot of people are coming in with, with kickers and the running back and I don't really like that strategy either. I talked a little bit about this with you guys last week. I do like running backs that are going to catch the balls. If you're going to pair them up, sure. You get a quarterback, even Latavius Murray, that's fine. You want to go Latavius Murray and Derek Carr, I'm all right with that. But if you want to go with a running back who doesn't catch the ball a lot, maybe you want to go high this week. And Reggie Bush is back. He's going to get, it's going to cut into a little bit. He's just not going to be catching those balls anymore. It's going to be Reggie Bush. I don't love Bush, but truth of the matter is he's just going to steal away from Hyde and certainly third down situation. So I've seen a little bit of those trends. I've seen Julio Jones on basically everybody's lineup. And the thing is, sometimes we try to be too smart and we try to be too contrarian and not pick Julio Jones. But now with Big Ben out and you know, Antonio Brown catching balls from Michael Vick, I think that Julio Jones is the safest player in fantasy. He just gets all the targets. He gets all the looks, all the catches, all the touchdowns, all the yards. This guy's on pace for over 2,000 yards. So I think sometimes not try to be contrarian, just pick the safest guy. And Julio Jones, you're going to pay for him. 9 4. But certainly he seems to be worth it every single day.
Andy Holloway
And it seems like, I mean, you can correct me if I'm wrong, but the recency bias has to be very present in DFS where, you know, you talked about Carr and Latavius Murray. Well, they just had big weeks, you know. So guys, coming into the next week, are they kind of chasing the points from the week before?
D
Absolutely, yeah, that's a very good question. We have seen guys, I mean, hide, hide when he had that big week, heavily owned in week two and didn't do anything. And you know what, you know what? This week actually we might see andy Dalton and A.J. green, a popular, popular pick. Now this is a matchup against KC as well. We saw KC get shredded, you know, by Aaron Rodgers and they've been shredded actually in the secondary. I believe they're giving up the most fantasy points on average to wide receivers out of any other team. And again, it might be a nice Play Dalton and AJ Green. I'm not saying it, but I also think that we could have missed the boat last week. Not saying that these guys are not going to have great games like they did last week, but don't count on consecutive weeks. Right. Greg Olson is an. Is another a great matchup. 6 3. We don't know if Stewart's gonna play. He might be a popular play as well. But I agree with you when you ask that question.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
D
Is that a lot of people are playing the same guys over and over again. Let's play Larry Fitz over again. Continue. Like, I like Fitzgerald, but this is a guy that I'm fading. I'm not playing because I really feel like everybody is going to play.
Andy Holloway
You don't think a 48 touchdown pace is sustainable for these guys?
D
No. Me on Twitter, it was, I believe, week two, somebody asked me a question, Fitzgerald or devonte Adams, and I said, it's close, but I'll go Fitzgerald. And somebody got extremely mad.
Mike Wright
Why?
D
This guy's old man just cashing checks. Oh, my gosh, he's still getting it done. But again, you kind of want to just stay away from. Just because he had a good week three doesn't mean he's going to have a good week four. You really have to try to exploit the matchups.
Andy Holloway
Let me ask you something about guys that are kind of on that injury bubble and so they might get priced that way. One guy that sticks out to me is desean Jackson, who has yet to be ruled out for the game this week. Now, he's probably not going to play, but he comes in at 6,000, you know, going against his former team, the Eagles. Do you. What do you. How do you approach those guys, DJax in specifics or those type of guys that are priced at the injured price but might play?
D
Yeah, that's a really good question as well. So I kind of try to stay away from them, to be honest with you. I don't want to play a guy that, you know, just may not play. And I got kind of burned before when I had Mike Evans in my lineup. I didn't know that he was going to be on a pitch count and he just was and he wasn't getting any looks. And then we saw him last week at all the targets. So I kind of stay away from the guys who are on the bubble. Of course, if you're going to play a contest this weekend and you're going to be in the Week 4 contest and you're looking at Monday night, let's remember that on FanDuel your lineup locks. Sunday at 1:00 it's going to lock and we don't know if lynch is going to play on Monday and obviously Rawls is a nice play at 6,000. So it's just, it's really, really tricky if you, if you have the guts and you want to do it and you go ahead and you go play Rawls and you're just what if maybe or. And I just don't suggest playing lynch because I actually think he has multiple injuries. We had Will Carroll on the FanDuel show, FanDuel Insider, who covers injuries injury expert and he had a lot of negative things to say about Marshawn lynch. Just multiple injuries. So some of these guys that you know are question marks to play haven't practiced all week.
Andy Holloway
Bubble.
D
I kind of do stay away from it, but you mentioned it. DeSean Jackson against his former team, he lit them up twice last year and he had really good games inside the division. But this is something that I'd stay away from.
Andy Holloway
I think that's good advice and I think one of the things that really differentiates, you know, you have to take chances in the year long regular fantasy football game. But in dfs, you really, I mean you don't have to.
Jason Moore
Right?
Andy Holloway
I mean you can if you want to be, you know, if that's the kind of player you are, but you don't have to make that decision and throw Chris Ivory out there last week and you know, take the risk with a guy that's banged up. So a couple other guys that come to mind, you know, Palmer's price is rising. Are you fading on him just because of the price?
D
I still like him. I still as soon. If it keeps on rising, I may not. I know this is a division game and Arizona is looking really, really well. St. Louis's D is not bad. It's okay. But I still do like Palmer at 8:2. I'm okay with it. I'm actually kind of fading the, you know, the Andrew Rodgers and. The Andrew or Aaron Rodgers and the Andrew Lux of the world. But 9291.
Andy Holloway
Right.
D
Don't think that they'll have good days. I really do think that they'll both have good days.
Andy Holloway
Just the price.
D
Yeah, just the price is too high and it really handcuffs the rest of your lineup. It won't. It definitely wouldn't allow you to get, you know, a guy like Forte who could get a lot of play this week. 83 against Oakland, a guy like Julio Jones. As I touched on earlier 94 against Houston so even Cobb, I mean San Francisco. So I don't want to Hancock myself with those quarterbacks. I think there's some value to be had. You can save a few bucks with Matt Ryan, Carson Palmer and Andy Dalton and even a Derek Carr who I really do like this week even though.
Andy Holloway
Everyone seems to be on board with him. Yeah, he's I believe one of our starts of the week today too in the show. So let me. I got about a minute left. I want to give you the chance. Are there any other values guys people should know about? Give us the Gary Barnages of the world today, Chris, and we won't hold you to that kind of perfection standard. But who are some guys that are sticking out there for you?
D
Certainly Cleveland hasn't been able to stop the run. Melvin Gordon 68 I like Danny Woodhead a little bit cheaper. He's 6 1. I think Carlos Williams is almost a must play this week at 6:3 it doesn't look like Lashawn McCoy is going to play and you know we're trying to be contrarian. We try to be a little bit different and I thought last week, well you can't play Joseph Randle and you can't play devonte Freeman because everyone's going to have him. Well if you had them both in your lineup you ended up with 60 plus vandal points. So I think Carlos Williams is a nice play this week. I also think Latavius Murray who had touched on Cooper at 7:2. If you want to stay away from Cooper, you think everyone's going to go Cooper. Why not Crabtree at five'eight I don't think Chicago can really cover anyone. Michael Crabtree at 58 I still like James Jones at 6,000. Moncrief I touched on last week. I like him at 6 3. Allen Robinson a guy to throw out there at 65 I think you know the Colts are going to put up some points and expect Jacksonville to try to try to do the same. If I'm going to look at a Gary Barnage it might be Kobe Fleener 49 he seems to have good games when Dwayne Allen's not around. And I do like Ty Montgomery. I want a piece of that Green Bay offense. Aaron Rodgers going back, as I mentioned, he's going to be a popular play too going back home and California playing in San Francisco, a team that passed on drafting him. I know sometimes, sometimes it's nothing but sometimes these players do have chips on their shoulder. They want to prove something. Not like Rodgers Needs to.
Andy Holloway
I was gonna say if Rodgers is proving something, we're talking six, seven touchdowns because the normal Rodgers not proving something is about 4 or 5, so.
D
Absolutely. If you want to take a shot on somebody that you know is going to save some budget, save some cash, I think Ty Montgomery could be that guy at 4 7. Obviously James Jones may be a popular playing Cobb as well.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And Jason will like hearing that Ty Montgomery name. So, hey, we really appreciate you coming on the show yet again. Great insight. We've been pointing people to you for dfs. What's your Twitter handle?
D
It's hrismeeny. C H R I S M E A N E Y. I appreciate you guys having me on the show and thanks for everything.
Andy Holloway
All right, take care, Chris. We'll talk to you next week.
D
All right, buddy. Cheers.
Andy Holloway
All right, thanks again to Chris Meaney for joining us on this show today to talk some dfs. A lot of good insights there. Gary Barnage was such an incredible pick last week.
Mike Wright
Chris Meaney is a meanie when it comes to picking dfs guys.
Andy Holloway
Wow.
Mike Wright
Wow.
Andy Holloway
You didn't really put that together very well.
Mike Wright
That was a bumper sticker.
Andy Holloway
You could have said bumper stickers. Meanie is the man E. He's the manny.
Jason Moore
That would be worse.
Mike Wright
I think we're digging on our hole here. Let's get Jason, you go.
Jason Moore
Wait.
Mike Wright
Chris Meaney slogan.
Jason Moore
Oh, all right. Chris Meaney is so awesome. I thought we were digging the hole and making it worse and worse.
Mike Wright
You dropped a nuclear bomb in the hole.
Andy Holloway
Weren't you an improv guy once you destroyed the world?
Jason Moore
Yeah, that's my back.
Andy Holloway
And you said that you never didn't get laughs.
Jason Moore
No, that. I thought we were digging the hole worse. I think mine was the worst.
Andy Holloway
Agreed. All right, welcome to the mailbag section. If you have a question, go to the website thefantasyfootballers.com click the submit a question button and we will answer it. We'll do our best. We get through as many questions as we can every week. We know you have your own fantasy face off questions on your team. Who to start, who to sit, who to sign off waivers, those type of things. You can also call and leave us a voicemail message. 302464tffb all right, John in Florida wants to know who should he start in his flex, Jordan Reed or Rashard Matthews against the jets defense?
Mike Wright
I'm going to play. Oh, man.
Andy Holloway
I play Jordan.
Mike Wright
I'm going to play Jordan Reed. Yep, yep. He gets tons of targets and two.
Andy Holloway
Goal Line targets last week didn't come down with them, but he'll get targeted.
Mike Wright
Yeah. And the jets defense, man, that's a. That's a tough match.
Andy Holloway
Does your opinion on Jordan Reed change when Djax gets back, which might be next week?
Mike Wright
No, I think it stays similar.
Andy Holloway
All right, Marty in body. More.
Mike Wright
Body. Body. More.
Andy Holloway
It's probably not how it's pronounced, but I'm going to read it that way. Really enjoy the show. I have Macklin and Moncrief as my two options at the flex spot in a PPR league. Who are you taking?
Jason Moore
I'm going to go with even with Andrew Lux shoulder my start of the week in Moncrief over Macklin. I don't like the Cincinnati matchup that Macklin has.
Mike Wright
Moncrief.
Andy Holloway
Give me Macklin and give me a waterbed if you want it. I tried it.
Jason Moore
Water bet.
Andy Holloway
I try to make one Jeremy Macklin bet per week.
Mike Wright
Yeah. And I'm glad to accept them.
Andy Holloway
Sure. I mean, he was dominant last week. Eric in Murrieta, California. I don't care. It counts. Hey, guys, I love your show. Quick question for you. In a standard league, would you start Ruben Randall or Brandon Co Is easy for me.
Mike Wright
You want cooks?
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Mike Wright
It's not easy for me. I hesitantly go with cooks, but I don't.
Andy Holloway
I go with Buffalo defense.
Mike Wright
Yeah, yeah. I'm going with cooks.
Andy Holloway
All right.
Mike Wright
I just am very. Just.
Andy Holloway
Jason, what'd you say?
Jason Moore
I said cooks. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Kirk wants to know he has an RB and a flex spot open with the following available. Foster, Gore, Moncrief. Is that. It's gotta be Charles Johnson and Devonta Freeman, RB&A Flex spot. Well, Foster, you got to play if he starts, right?
Jason Moore
Yeah. It's either Foster and Gore or I think Gore and Freeman.
Mike Wright
Yep. I can dig it.
Andy Holloway
Does it change it all if it was a pbr?
Mike Wright
No, no. Because Freeman's gonna get targets.
Andy Holloway
Yep. All right. We also want to remind you about our fantasy football community@jointhefoot.com you can go onto jointhefoot.com, join the community. We've got over 600 people in there. We added some funny goals.
Mike Wright
Oh, we need to talk about this goal. There are certain goals that can be met that make us do ridiculous things like do an eight hour Twitter bing.
Andy Holloway
Which will happen next week, is shortly approaching.
Mike Wright
We have just added another goal because there has been. We've taken notice. We've taken notice of Foot Clan complaining of our paleness.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
And people think while you're in Arizona, jokes shouldn't you be very tan in Arizona? No, because you die. You go outside and you die.
Andy Holloway
You're a melanoma. Go outside.
Jason Moore
We get winter tans here. Okay. Not summer tan.
Mike Wright
We all have timers, like the government hands on a timer that every time you go outside, your timer starts clicking, and if it reaches a threshold, you know you're gonna die.
Andy Holloway
Yep.
Mike Wright
So you have to get back inside.
Andy Holloway
Yep.
Mike Wright
And we're also in here doing fantasy football 24 hours a day, so we don't have time for that. Getting to the point, if we reach our next goal, the three of us are going to get spray tans.
Andy Holloway
Oh, it will be so terrible.
Mike Wright
And we will document it and we will be.
Jason Moore
Are we gonna get the like person.
Andy Holloway
I believe we're calling this. We're calling this goal the spray tan. Slash Hasselhoff.
Mike Wright
Yo, we gotta. Yeah, yeah.
Jason Moore
We'll just come in and do a show like an Oompa Loompa, just completely orange.
Andy Holloway
That's also known as the trumpet.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Yes.
Mike Wright
Well, I have concerns of. I have done very well of my beard. Like, what do they do for.
Andy Holloway
People have praised me.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I know.
Mike Wright
I don't know.
Jason Moore
It should just wash out of the beard or maybe they put like a. One of those medical things over the beard. What I want to do is I want to. I want to get the orange spray tan and then shave and then just.
Andy Holloway
Have a white beard.
Jason Moore
Have a white skin beard.
Mike Wright
Oh, man.
Jason Moore
There you go.
Mike Wright
So let's make this happen.
Jason Moore
Jointhefoot.com we'll answer that question.
Andy Holloway
Forget about the. The budding community of fantasy players, spray tans. Insights that you can get. Focus on the spray tans. Jointhefoot.com you can also find us on Twitter @the ffballers. We'll be back here next week talking about everything that's happened this weekend and my hopeful victory over Mike. And we.
Mike Wright
And we have the standing versus Waterbed. Oh, that's right. That goes without saying.
Andy Holloway
It does.
Mike Wright
So prepare your crotch for wetness.
Andy Holloway
Does that mean I lost last week?
Mike Wright
Goodbye.
Jason Moore
