Andy Holloway
Our announcer was a liar.
Jason Moore
Oh, because you said Mike Wright's name.
Andy Holloway
Mike is not here today. Why?
Jason Moore
Why start the show like that with such a sad tale?
Andy Holloway
It's because the guy said a lie. He's like with Andy and Jason and Mike and I have to represent.
Jason Moore
Do we need to get a special intro just for these moments when Mike takes. Because Mike tends to take way too many vacations.
Andy Holloway
Got a lot of timeshares over in Disneyland, California, everywhere. He literally goes like.
Jason Moore
It's that he's got that his, his parents and his. They all meet up every year and do something. He's in San Diego right now.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. It's awesome. I'm happy for him.
Jason Moore
At least he's not in Disneyland. That would have made you really jealous.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, well, he's probably in Disneyland last week and next week, so I'll be jealous other times.
Jason Moore
Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast. If you're joining us for the very first time, it is normally Andy, Mike and Jason, just Andy and Jason. Today we are a. An independent fantasy football podcast. Pride ourselves on being accurate and entertaining. And we are. Year round. We don't stop. This is all we do. This is the only full time podcast where we're not. This is it. This is all we're doing all day long, every day, bringing you the goods.
Andy Holloway
Trying to make it the best we can, make it Our information. We spend. How many hours a day do you think we spend?
Jason Moore
60 to 70.
Andy Holloway
It's amazing. That's. I mean, that's dedication. Not many people could say they work 60 to 70 hours a day on fantasy football.
Jason Moore
No, but we all get.
Andy Holloway
We sure can. Yep.
Jason Moore
Yep. And those are. That's not even an exaggeration.
Andy Holloway
No. No hyperbole here.
Jason Moore
We got a really good show today. Despite the fact that Mike isn't here or maybe because of. I'm not sure yet. We are going to go through the AFC east, the divisional Breakdown. We're also going to play some of the fan favorite game, keep, trade, cut and we're going to get some one on one battles going on between Jason and myself. So there'll just be more room for spirited debate between us on today's show. I did want to let everybody know real quick. We have a giveaway that is happening on the website very soon. We're giving away a listener league spot. By the way, if you want to submit your own submission, it's listenerleagueantasyfootballers.com now there are some people that have tried to submit to at the fantasy footballers.com that doesn't work. That doesn't work. It's listenerleagueantasyfootballers.com if you want to submit an entry. Some people have submitted emails that said this is my entry not in because they thought maybe you just email there and you're in. That is the email address to send if you need to contact us to impress us or surprise us or whatever you want to do. And we've had some pretty cool things come through already. In fact, I think there's like 200 entries that I haven't looked at yet.
Andy Holloway
When are we going to find the time to go through those?
Jason Moore
We'll find the time. 60, 70 hours a week, a day.
Andy Holloway
We've got a lot of time.
Jason Moore
So. But yeah, we have a giveaway coming up on jointhefoot.com with the listener league spot and assigned to Marius Thomas jersey and some other cool things. So you want to check that out. Here's a quick question for the day. I want to get right into it. This one comes in from Elastar7 on Twitter. Who's your favorite third round selection right now on a half point PPR. So this is based on ADP average draft position. Of all the guys going in the third round, who's your favorite? And I've got my guy.
Andy Holloway
Well, let me pull it up here and for the listeners because we might say, we might say a name and they go, oh, that's not that guy. But let me make sure everyone knows this is the pool of guys then we get to select from.
Jason Moore
Here's who's on today's.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, as of today, the third round looks like Brandon Marshall, Brandon Cooks, Thomas Rawls, Cam Newton, Ty Hilton, Kelvin Benjamin Demarius Thomas, Aaron Rodgers, Forte, Sammy Watkins, C.J. anderson and Latavius Murray. So about a dozen guys there.
Jason Moore
I have multiple selections there. That's like when value jumps off the page.
Andy Holloway
Yes, I completely agree. There are three guys to me that I really love through that round. Well, I think I'm going to surprise you. So you can go first.
Jason Moore
Okay. That's what I was going to say. It's Brandon Marshall.
Andy Holloway
That's one of my three.
Jason Moore
Brandon Marshall, even though he's at the top of the third. I don't care. I think he's 303 right now.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, he was the fourth best wide receiver last year.
Jason Moore
And I know everybody is waiting on pins and needles. Do you wait on pins and needles? No, I don't think that's how that works. That would be painful.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. That sounds like you're doing it on purpose. No, I don't think you do that on purpose.
Jason Moore
I love it when we miss references. Up. Brandon Marshall is going to have Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Andy Holloway
Well, we're going to agree to disagree.
Jason Moore
Now. You have to ignore the Jets Twitter page.
Andy Holloway
We'll get into that later. We're covering the Jets.
Jason Moore
Well, I know you have to talk about it.
Andy Holloway
Here's. Here's my honest opinion. I don't think Brandon Marshall is bad with Geno Smith. I have come around to that position. I think Brandon Marshall in the third round with Geno Smith, he will produce.
Jason Moore
I think Geno Smith is bad with Geno Smith.
Andy Holloway
Sure, you can think whatever you want about him, but I mean, Brandon Marshall's been great with every quarterback imaginable that he's played with and he is the number one. And I don't know if you've seen the videos of him. He posted it about two or three weeks ago of him running on a treadmill, getting up to a speed that he hasn't gotten up to in several years. He's down a couple pounds because Todd Bowles put him on a special diet.
Jason Moore
Todd Bowles wants him running faster.
Andy Holloway
Oh, and he is running faster.
Jason Moore
A delightful thing. He is one of the best in the league and you get him at a value that is insane right now. If Ryan Fitzpatrick signs tomorrow, which could happen, where does Brandon Marshall belong? Because he's sitting in the third for this reason.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you can. You can make that argument. I think Brandon Marshall belongs in the middle of the second. In fact, maybe even the top of the second, because I'm looking at wide receivers there. Like, here's a perfect example. Alan Robinson or Brandon Marshall, right? You got the young upcoming guy. They finished fourth and fifth respectively, in fantasy at the wide receiver half point PPR last year. So do you want the young guy, you know, on an ascending team, or do you want the old guy?
Jason Moore
And I would take Brandon Marshall.
Andy Holloway
I would as well. I think that your targets are more assured. There aren't as many weapons for the jets as there are. I mean, the ball could be spread around different ways. Julius Thomas comes back for the Jaguars.
Jason Moore
They're both great. They're both great. But I would take Brandon Marshall in that situation. Jason, who's your favorite third round draft pick?
Andy Holloway
My favorite third round draft pick, and it will surprise you, is Thomas Rawls. Thomas Rawls.
Jason Moore
Where's he going right now?
Andy Holloway
I believe he's the third off the board in the third round. Okay, so Thomas Rawls. Yeah. Three over.
Jason Moore
You're all aboard.
Andy Holloway
I am aboard the Thomas Rawls train. That doesn't sound as catchy as, like, the Abdullah Express. No, I gotta, I gotta come up with Rolls Wagon or something. Yeah, Rolls Royce. I'm getting in my Rolls Royce here. I mean, that's pretty obvious. I apologize that it took me that long to get it.
Jason Moore
The listeners didn't get to see your eyes explode when you realized the Rolls Royce.
Andy Holloway
Oh, man, I'm hopping in it.
Jason Moore
Oh, that'll be on a T shirt by the end of the week.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you can get in your Abdullah Express and go, you know, wherever the train takes you. But I'm driving the Rolls Royce wherever I want to go. I might get in the back and tell my chauffeur to take me where to go. Here's why I think Rawls is a great value. You've got a running team, and when he was the starter last year, which was, you know, a very large chunk of the season, he was not good. He was great. He was not a top back. He was the top running back in the NFL for fantasy football. And he is on track right now to be way ahead of schedule. I think by the time the season rolls around, he's going to be pumped up a little bit. We're talking about David Johnson as, like, you know, the. Hey, take David Johnson as the first running back off the board. That's. That's a very common thing right now. And for me, I try to avoid risk in that first round, that second round, because I think there are safe guys with high upside. I think Thomas Rawls could do what David Johnson could do, and I'm going to get him in the third round instead of in the first round.
Jason Moore
I agree with most of what you're saying. Rawls led the league. He was the number one running back over the last six weeks last year until his injury. The only caveat with Rawls is I don't believe that he'll catch pass. Right.
Andy Holloway
That is. That is the difference.
Jason Moore
But you're right about everything else. And he's, you know, he's very young. As long as he's healthy, I could see his ADP being one of those guys that just skyrockets as soon as people feel confident in where he's at. I would be happy. I have him in our league of record as a keeper, and I traded.
Andy Holloway
For him in our dynasty startup.
Jason Moore
So Marshall and Rawls are two picks there. For the quick question of the day, if you want to connect with us, I mentioned it earlier. Head over to JoinTheFoot.com or fantasy football Community with extra episodes and exclusive content. The giveaway I mentioned, you can follow us on Twitter heffballers. In fact, this morning I tweeted out a delightful Geno Smith profile just to insult Jason most. You know, Twitter's 5050 good news. Like. Like, we'll break fantasy news, and then the other half is commentary on how the other person is wrong.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Look, just because we have a lot of Twitter followers doesn't mean we can't be trolls.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that's. I feel like we have a responsibility.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Twitter, we have to troll.
Jason Moore
We're also on YouTube, the fantasy sports network as well. And definitely check out Ultimate Draft kit dot com. You will not be disappointed.
Andy Holloway
No, that's. That season is coming and we've. We've literally put in four months of work on it. It's. It's every piece of insight from our brain to help the Foot clan win. Hashtag FootClan titles. That's what we do here.
Jason Moore
Yeah. And aren't you putting up our. We have a top 200 in there for half point, but you're gonna get a PPR and a standard up for us.
Andy Holloway
They are on their way, almost complete.
Jason Moore
So that will make people excited. Yeah, that's the other thing. We listen to you when you tell us what you want to see in there. If it's doable, we'll do it.
Andy Holloway
Absolutely.
Jason Moore
And if it's not doable, we'll tell you it's on the list.
Andy Holloway
We update it when news happens. We keep it fresh.
Jason Moore
Speaking of news.
Andy Holloway
News and notes from around the league, the most amazing segue of all.
Jason Moore
Wasn't it? Wasn't it? In an Instagram post, Lev Bell has said he's going. Let me quote him, gonna win the appeal. So he says he's not missing games. He says nobody knows what actually happened, but he's not missing games. Well, does that make you go and change the Updated rankings.
Andy Holloway
It does not make me update my updates yet.
Jason Moore
Now, didn't Josh Gordon used to sound like this?
Andy Holloway
Well, I think a lot of players do, right? The players are always going to say that the, that they were wrongfully suspended and that they should win the appeal. I think that's natural. I think that's in the player's best interest to paint that picture. If for some reason he actually had like, oh, I was at my grandmother's funeral, I'm guessing we would have heard about that now. But if for some reason he didn't want to tell the world and that was the reason, maybe he would get out of it. But the reality is he had already failed drug tests in the past, been suspended for that in the past. You missed drug tests. I mean, there are few things that drug testing companies hate more than trying to get out of a test. And so they're not going to. They're not going to undo that ban.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I mean, that is not a good thing. And what would you say the odds that he. What would you put them out right now?
Andy Holloway
I put them at 90. 10.
Jason Moore
90, 10. Okay. The jets have been extending, according to reports, multiple offers to Ryan Fitzpatrick this week, which is, if that's true in any capacity. That means contact has been made. It had been six weeks supposedly since they had the sides had discussed. Jason pulled up the Jets Twitter and there was a nice giant wallpaper size Geno Smith they put out there with seven days to training camp. Is that what it was?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, exactly. Seven Sundays to the NFL season and they put up a number.
Jason Moore
Seven of the professional teams can troll as well, is what you're saying.
Andy Holloway
Or they can pump their fans for their future quarterback, Geno Smith.
Jason Moore
Yes. Somebody asked an NFL Network guy and I'd give him. I don't remember his name. So what's the backup plan if you can't get Ryan Fitzpatrick? And the backup plan is. A backup is what he said. You know, the backup plan is to have a backup beer starter in Geno Smith.
Andy Holloway
All right, now, in fairness, before we move on to that, I know we'll talk the jets more, but last year in training camp, Geno Smith won the battle. He was the starter ahead of Ryan Fitzpatrick for the Todd Bowles led team. But then he broke his jaw when a teammate punched him, sucker punched him from behind and Fitz took over. So I just want to remind people, when they were both healthy in training camp, before Fitz was winning games, they did like Geno better than Fitzgerald.
Jason Moore
Anything that you can say that keeps you firmly On Geno's bandwagon is fine by me, because I just want to see the truth is on that bandwagon, going off of a cliff, bursting into flames.
Andy Holloway
I wanted to make a water floating. Because the nice thing about this waterbed is we'll know soon, right? I mean, in the next seven weeks, you know, the season's gonna start and we'll know who's gonna be the starter. And I wanted to make a waterbed, except I don't.
Jason Moore
There's just not.
Andy Holloway
I don't really believe it's gonna be Geno. Now this is some dark part of me that just hopes for it, even though I've always loved Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Jason Moore
Well, no, please don't. Please don't. Peyton has been cleared of the PED stuff by the NFL.
Andy Holloway
Good. Now, this makes sense to me why they said that they were going to investigate it. And I hope they didn't do one second of.
Jason Moore
I hope all they did was put the game tape on from last year. There's no way he was on ped, no HGH there.
Andy Holloway
He got really old really fast.
Jason Moore
Sammy Watkins, we'll talk more about him in the AFC east divisional preview that. That we're about to do. He suggests that he's near 100%. That's music to Jason's ears.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I'm a big Watkins believer. More so in Dynasty than in a Redraft, but still, like him, Peter King.
Jason Moore
Arbitrarily has decided to say that Ezekiel Elliott better be ready for 375 carries. He is not the first reporter to suggest numbers like that.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, from my understanding, that wasn't based on research or insight. It was just saying the Cowboys run the ball a lot.
Jason Moore
There is ready perception that he will be receiving a very, very, very big workload.
Andy Holloway
You know, this is. I will say this. I mean, we have to be open to the reality. You know, DeMarco Murray got 392 carries in his heyday, so we have to be open to the reality that Ezekiel Elliott could really come and take the NFL by storm. But it is exactly these kind of reports by Peter King saying things like this that make me actually go, well, hold up. There's no knowledge like we've never seen it for one game, for one, not even a practice, not even in training camp right now because Darren McFadden isn't there right now with his elbow. So when week one rolls around, what if he's getting 55% of the carries instead of, you know, the 80% that all the beat writers are just assuming? Then the pick that you made in the first round to grab them is gonna be not so hot.
Jason Moore
That is the inherent risk with Ezekiel Elliott right now. You just haven't seen it yet. And so if you buy in, if you're Peter King's fan club, then maybe you pick him up early. All right, before we get into the divisional breakdown, I want to take a second and thank our sponsor, SeatGeek. SeatGeek is the first place that we go to look for tickets to a game or a concert. My sister and I, when we were in New York, we bought our theater tickets on Sea Geek. We bought all of the tickets we. Every game in the NFL that we went to last year, we bought on Sea Geek there.
Andy Holloway
Also, the last place we look for tickets because they always.
Jason Moore
Right, it is the first and last place. They basically make it super easy for sports and music fans to get the ticket you want at the best possible prices. They do all the comparison for you. You don't have to go to a bunch of different sites. They search multiple ticket sites and they ensure you get the best possible deal so that you can save your time and your money. They give you the best bang for your buck. They have this really cool seat chart.
Andy Holloway
Interactive. The best interactive seats, best technology, I mean, by a mile. I've always wanted exactly what they have. And then when I found seatgeek, it was like, oh, yeah, they just, like.
Jason Moore
Highlight which tickets are the best.
Andy Holloway
Very easily zoom in, zoom out. It's very nice.
Jason Moore
So best of all, our listeners get a $20 rebate off their first SeatGeek purchase, which is extra nice there. To get the $20 rebate, you download the free SeatGeek app. You go to the settings tab and click Add a promo code and you enter the promo code. Footballers, that makes sense. And SeatGeek will send you $20. After you've made your first purchase, you Download this free SeatGeek app and enter the promo code. Footballers, F O O T B A L L E R S And you do that right now. So we want to thank SeatGeek for supporting the show. Let's get into it.
Andy Holloway
Let's get divisional.
Jason Moore
Well, let's start in New England with Tom Brady, his suspension looming, the impact on the Patriots. This is a obviously one of the best offenses in football. Last year they were fifth in passing yards per game. They will move the ball when Tom Brady's back. The question is, will they move the ball when Jimmy Garoppolo is the quarterback?
Andy Holloway
I think they will for some of the games because their Their schedule over those first four. You know, you start in Arizona to kick off their season.
Jason Moore
Not a good matchup.
Andy Holloway
Not a good matchup. I think Jimmy Garoppolo going to Arizona is going to be a hard welcome to the NFL. But after that, they've got a couple of cakewalks in their, in their first four for their standards. So I think you'll have some up and down. Jimmy Garoppolo is a guy that, you know, depending on how he does in week one and what we see, might be a good streaming candidate in week two. You have to keep in mind as we're covering the AFC east this year, the AFC east, they're, they're out of conference schedules against the NFC West. So those are two really good divisions that are going to be kind of hammering against each other this year, which means all of those teams have a little bit tougher schedule coming into this year. And while we say this all the time, like don't worry about strength of schedule too much for fantasy football, especially before the year in mid season.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Week five, six.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
You start to see trends.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Then you can start to do that in draft season, not so much. But it does mean you're probably going to have more primetime games, you know, some big shows. So I'm excited. You know what that that makes me do just is not necessarily about the Patriots. Call me crazy, but I'm getting jazzed up for football.
Jason Moore
Are you excited?
Andy Holloway
I am so ecstatic that we are. I mean, training camps are here. Training camps are starting this week. I am thrilled.
Jason Moore
Without football, you couldn't possibly be as insanely excited about Lamar Miller as you were on the last show. Right. So those are, those are.
Andy Holloway
I think I'm going to end up making a water bet with one of our writers.
Jason Moore
Are you?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, he's down on Lamar Miller and I said I'm bring it on.
Jason Moore
Yeah, bring it on. So staying at the quarterback position, Tom Brady misses four games. Last year he led the league in passing touchdowns. Top 10 across the board in most of the important passing categories. He has Gronkowski, he has Edelman, he has Dion Lewis returning when. And that's when Brady was actually at his peak in terms of fantasy production. Is where does he belong in fantasy drafts and is he going to end up on any of your teams as a fantasy owner?
Andy Holloway
For me, he probably won't end up on my teams. The reason we've covered it before, but depending on your bench size to take a guy, you know, I had someone write me and say, hey, would it be, you know, smart to grab Tom Brady and Le'Veon Bell both and try to wait. And I'm just thinking, well now your whole bench, if you were to grab those guys the first four weeks, you're not going to be able to drop people easily and pick up good guys that you have to be starting. So I definitely wouldn't do both. But if I had to pick one, I would do Love Bell because he's more of a difference maker. Brady, to me he's right now he's going kind of the back of the six. I expect that'll just continue to drop.
Jason Moore
Would you take Brady or Palmer in the seventh round?
Andy Holloway
I would take Palmer. I'd rather have a guy that I think is going to play the whole year. Who, I mean, would you say they both played 16 games? Is it a guarantee that Tom Brady scores more?
Jason Moore
No.
Andy Holloway
Right.
Jason Moore
Not a guarantee. What about Philip rivers at the 11th pick of the eighth round or Tom Brady there?
Andy Holloway
I would probably pass on both.
Jason Moore
Well, okay, but you if I had. I understand, but like, which would you choose? Would you choose like somebody has, let's say, a decision to make. They've got to take Brady in the 9th or Rivers in the 9th?
Andy Holloway
I would take Brady there.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Andy Holloway
I think that's the, that's what I.
Jason Moore
Was trying to figure out, where it drops to.
Andy Holloway
Well, for me that would be like the 10th. And that's where I say I would probably pass there and grab whoever's left in the 10th.
Jason Moore
But okay, so Julian Edelman, vacuum. Is he struggle the first four weeks?
Andy Holloway
Yes. He is the hardest case I think of every Patriot. Gronk's going to be okay. He'll take a slight, you know, step down just because the offense will take a slight step down. But Julian Edelman is all about the precision timing routes with Tom Brady. They have developed that chemistry over years and a couple of reps that. Keep in mind Brady and Garoppolo are splitting reps right now in the off season. So he's not even getting full time. Garoppolo. I can't imagine that the game that Edelman plays with is not hurt in those first four weeks. Do you agree or disagree with that?
Jason Moore
Yeah, I would be tempering my expectations. You're not going to see a boom game out of Edelman in those four. In my opinion. I don't think that's going to happen. And so I would temper those expectations. I don't know how much that would really lower him. Where is he going right. Right now? Edelman is I want to look this up for a second here.
Andy Holloway
Sure.
Jason Moore
Edelman is going in the fourth round now and his, you know, his ADP has dropped pretty significantly since the news.
Andy Holloway
It'll probably.
Jason Moore
He was going as high as he was going in the second round. He was 209 in March.
Andy Holloway
Wow.
Jason Moore
Now he is down 405. So I would happily take him in the fourth round, let's put it that way. And I think he probably belongs in a half point or full point league. He probably belongs in the back half. Third, top of the fourth.
Andy Holloway
Here's the guys he's going around. Jarvis Landry, Golden Tate, Doug Baldwin. I would take Julian Edelman over all of those guys.
Jason Moore
Exactly.
Andy Holloway
The fact that.
Jason Moore
And he's not gone, I mean, he.
Andy Holloway
Gives you production first four weeks, I think he takes a step back from his high level elite. But I'm happy to play Julian Edelman in my fantasy roster those first four weeks. So really it's just a matter of value. And if he's dropping to the back of the fourth.
Jason Moore
Yeah. And so in terms of the other wide receivers in New England, if people are looking for names, I'd look somewhere else, to be honest with you. I mean, the Patriots since 2012, their wide receivers have averaged the least yards per reception. They don't move the ball down the field. I mean, Gronkowski catches those seam passes and has a large longer depth of target, but they run the ball through the air.
Andy Holloway
We've said that before.
Jason Moore
Yes, they do.
Andy Holloway
Their running game is short passes. Is Dion Lewis, is Julian Edelman. Short gains and they keep going. You want to know who's a little bit intriguing for me over these first four weeks?
Jason Moore
Martell's. Bennett. Yes, I want to talk about him.
Andy Holloway
The reality is I'm thinking Bill Belichick is going to find a way to scheme success.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Andy Holloway
And if you've got Garoppolo in there and you don't have those timing routes figured out exactly perfectly with Julian Edelman, even with Dion Lewis, those, those quick screens take perfect timing to throw. Then you just go to big strong guys on the outside who can just win one on one battles. You got Gronk and Martellus Bennett. Yeah, I think Bennett is more intriguing. It's so weird because, you know, it's like Brady goes out and I think I'm more intrigued by Martellus Bennett than I was. That makes no sense. But I just think that that's going to be kind of how they scheme those first four games.
Jason Moore
Look, Patriots tight ends get into the end Zone. That's. That's the reality. So I think if you have the opportunity to set up those mismatches, even in those first four games, Bennett is somebody you have to pay attention to, and he's being, for the most part, ignored. So I think that's an interesting guy in deeper leagues.
Andy Holloway
Oh, hit the breaking news. But breaking news. Oh, goodness gracious. Breaking news. The NFL reinstates wide receiver Josh Gordon, suspends him for the first four games. So now you've got Le'Veon Bell, Tom Brady and Josh Gordon, who will be missing the first four games of the season.
Jason Moore
That's the biggest breaking news we've had happen on the show.
Andy Holloway
Oh, that's so great.
Jason Moore
There are people listening to this tomorrow because we're recording this the day before that. Thought we missed this news during the news and notes, and here it is.
Andy Holloway
Oh, we missed nothing.
Jason Moore
Oh, my goodness. All right, so this is completely unknown territory. No time to ponder the details of this. You're getting so right now, right here, Josh Gordon, where does he belong in the draft? Holy moly.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I'm going to surprise some people with where I think Josh Gordon should go in the draft. And I'm going to say Josh Gordon should go in the. At the highest I would take him is the sixth round.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Andy Holloway
I think some people are going to go nuts on Josh Gordon and think, look, this was a guy who a couple years ago was the number one receiver without even playing 16 games. But we have to remember when he came back that following year, before he got suspended, he wasn't that good in those games. The last season that he played, he had one good game and a bunch of garbage games and then lost the season. So I think it's no guarantee that just because he was extremely talented several years ago that he's, you know, one of those Julio Odell, Beckham, you know, Antonio Brown type of players, especially with Robert Griffin the third throwing him the ball. So I'm just saying my expectations are I'm totally willing to take a flyer on him. You know, I would take him over a Jordan Matthews.
Jason Moore
Would you take him over Michael Floyd in the fifth?
Andy Holloway
No.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Andy Holloway
I don't think I would. That's interesting because you're also losing the four games. It's not just, I think Michael Floyd will be better. It's I don't have to waste a bench spot. I don't have to lose him for those first four games.
Jason Moore
So that it says that his reinstatement is conditional according to NFL.com and that he is allowed to participate in training camp. So I'm guessing he has to maintain sobriety. Sobriety and just like more so a pattern of what they want him to be doing, like go through all the hoops that they have set up for him.
Andy Holloway
I am happy. Here's the thing.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he's super talented. The question that is is built in here is Josh Gordon has the potential to be the number one wide receiver. He has done it right. So that's built into him. We don't think Michael Floyd could do that. I don't think Jeremy Macklin could do that. I don't think Ty Hilton can do that.
Andy Holloway
So where do you draft Josh Gordon?
Jason Moore
I. Depending on my team's makeup will tell me whether I can take that chance. If I have taken a quarterback or tight end within the first four or five rounds, Josh Gordon, I'm not taking him. If I have a little bit of depth at running back, a wide receiver, I would take Josh Gordon maybe in the fifth, early fifth, maybe in the fourth. But I want to see. I think early fifth is where I'm sitting right now.
Andy Holloway
And so now how does this affect Corey Coleman, Gary Barnes significantly? Yeah, I mean, you've got another significantly.
Jason Moore
Effect if you were counting on Coleman to be a one. He's not.
Andy Holloway
I'll tell you, it's over. I had a deep sleeper that I've been very excited about on the Browns I've been drafting. I have much more stock of this guy than I have of Corey Coleman because of where Corey Coleman's going. But I've been taking Terrell Pryor stock on just late flyer. Terrell Pryor is dead to me now. I mean, if you're talking like you want a supreme talented athlete who just has the chance to make plays on his own now, that's Josh Gordon.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I mean, I don't even nowhere to begin on the prior thing. I couldn't disagree more. I just think he's irrelevant.
Andy Holloway
But he is now.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I think he was. I think he was already. Corey Coleman's not the one. Corey Coleman's a rookie. And if you need a few games to build rapport, those will be the games when Gordon's out. But you're not going to see elite numbers because normally I would have expected Coleman season to look like a slow trajectory upward of being acclimated, getting used to the system. And you'd see him take off halfway through the season. Gordon's there, Barnage is there. Coleman is. Is not going to. He's not going to be a one for that team. That's the fact right now. So that, that's huge news. I think Josh Gordon is hype, you know, super talented. He's not, you know, it's not like he's aged out of his potential. He's 25 years old. He is, he's a superstar.
Andy Holloway
And we'll give more, we'll get more commentary on this on Thursday when we get to. I mean, this was literally when Josh.
Jason Moore
Gordon joins the show.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, maybe, maybe we'll try to get him on, but we'll, we'll dig deep and look at some research, watch some film of that last season and get back to you with.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
More thorough, thoughtful analysis.
Jason Moore
I really. Yeah. All right, Jets. Let's talk about the Jets. We've already talked about Marshall and Fitzpatrick a little bit, but it's time to break down that offense, break down that team. This was a wide receiver dominated team. In fact, the jets, the jets had tight ends that average half a reception per game is what their average was. They basically had no tight end last year that wasn't just blocking. So those of you that want to hope for Jason Morrow or somebody else to produce, I wouldn't be hoping for it. Helen Davis.
Andy Holloway
I heard something like, Jason Morrow is going to be more involved this year in the passing game, unless he doesn't take a step forward, in which case he's on the roster bubble. It's like what he's going to. So he's going to be more involved or he's not going to make the decision?
Jason Moore
Look, in the NFL, teams average five receptions for the tight end. If he takes a step forward and gets up to one reception a game, you're not going to be very happy, right?
Andy Holloway
No, the tight end position is irrelevant here. It's really your two stud. And that's, that's part of, I think, what makes Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker a duo of viable fantasy output. It's, it's what, I mean, you look last year with the Jags, right? Those were another team. You had Alan Robinson and Alan Hearns. Well, Julius Thomas was injured and that really helped get that off the ground. Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker, I'm, I'm, I really believe they're both good, fine options no matter who the quarterback is. I think if it comes out that Geno is the guy, I'm not sure I'm touching their numbers that much because what's going to happen game script wise is you're going to have more interceptions, more turnovers and more, more passing. I mean, it might not be Good for the jets, but I don't think it will be bad for their fantasy output.
Jason Moore
I had really hoped the breaking news was that Ryan Fitzpatrick had been signed. Yeah, right before we get into the Jets.
Andy Holloway
That would have been perfect.
Jason Moore
Last year the jets averaged the 10th most rushing yards per game, almost 117 yards a game. That was on the back of Chris Ivory. And towards the end of the season, Bilal Powell was very involved in especially the two minute drills. All third downs. We have Matt Forte arriving in New York. We have Kyrie Robinson and we have Bilal Powell. Powell got paid, Forte got paid, Robinson got paid.
Andy Holloway
It's interesting to note there how much they all got paid Forte. It was said Forte got a nice big monster deal. Well, Bilal Powell got almost an identical deal. I mean the numbers are super close. They, they paid the same amount for those two guys and then Kyrie Robinson got nothing. Got absolute, you know, I was a little bit high on him. And as we were getting close to drafting Kyrie as like our last pick in a Scott Fishbowl league, I just realized they brought him in to just test the waters. Maybe he becomes that goal line guy and that would be a good position because I don't think Matt Forte or Blel Powell are that, but I'm not really. I think it's going to be a two man show there between Forte and Blel Powell.
Jason Moore
Well, that has to maybe improve the prospects. You know, we're lower as a show, the three of us on Matt Forte than others are. And I think people, you know, you talk about pedigree when Forte was drafted. Since 2008, no player has more yards from scrimmage than Forte. So he's got this long fantasy football history of producing for fantasy owners. And so everybody, they see where we have him ranked compared to the average and they say, why are you so down on Matt Forte? Why, why not believe in Matt Forte? I don't think we are down on Matt Forte the player. I think he will be valuable for that offense. I just think Jason's dead on. I think it's going to be a committee. They've come out and say it's going to be a committee and you're going to be disappointed if you have Matt Forte in there and you expect him to be a workhorse. Because I don't think he can be that anymore.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Now, so let's ask the question though, because a lot of times when we're down on guys, that means, you know, we, we're saying, I wouldn't Draft him. He won't be on my team, but that'll push people down. And so where would, where would Forte be a good enough value? Like right now?
Jason Moore
You just said he's a third round pick right now.
Andy Holloway
Correct. So he's going ahead of CJ Anderson, ahead of Latavius Murray.
Jason Moore
I take both those guys ahead of demarco Murray.
Andy Holloway
I would take all three of those guys ahead.
Jason Moore
That's what I. Yeah. I think you have a situation too where a lot of Forte's value is in the passing and a lot of Bilal Powell's strengths are in the passing game.
Andy Holloway
They really have a quite similar skill set, those two. I mean, Forte obviously is better between the tack, is the better runner, but because of that, it's almost like what I think you're going to see is entire series taking, taking turns as opposed to Forte on, you know, first and second below Powell comes in on third down. I think you're going to see more of a. A hot hand approach. Keep him on the field for this drive. Give them a. Give him a break for the next drive. That's my anticipation. It's too early to know.
Jason Moore
I have. I think I have. We have them consensus 25. We've got them behind quite a few guys.
Andy Holloway
So 25 at the running back.
Jason Moore
At the running back.
Andy Holloway
Wow.
Jason Moore
So outside of the two, that sounds too loaded, a little bit too low right now. Our consensus, Carlos Hyde is way too high. Because of that Mike guy.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
What is he doing? That's really high on high.
Andy Holloway
How high does Mike have Hyde? He's not here, actually.
Jason Moore
He's got him at 14.
Andy Holloway
That's all right. I don't, I wouldn't have him that high, but it's. He's. He's got the opportunity. There are chips that are falling his way.
Jason Moore
I'll say this Woodhead right now, he's consensus above Forte. I. He's going down for me. Woodhead's going. I'm moving for Woodhead down. I'm moving Forte up maybe a little bit, but I think he's a back end too. I think he's a. He's definitely a two. I'd be really happy having that production, but I'm, you know, he's going to have his games, but I don't think he's going to be a consistent force.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. The reality is this, right? Most teams in the NFL are running back by committee and not most teams in the NFL run the ball as much as the jets are going to try to run the ball this year. They want to be a, a running, defensive minded team. And if that's the case, then shouldn't Bilal Powell and Matt Forte be more valuable than some of the other, you know, split timeshare backs?
Jason Moore
If you don't believe Kyrie Robinson takes goal line away, sure. I think they're going to give Robinson a chance around the goal line. They did things. Here's the thing. Bowles was there last season with Ivory and Steven Ridley got a lot of work.
Andy Holloway
No, he didn't.
Jason Moore
He got a lot of work towards the end of the season when you didn't expect him to. He would put him out there to spell Ivory. I'm just saying, if Steven Ridley's getting opportunities, Kyrie Robinson is going. They brought. Sure, that's his guy. They brought him in.
Andy Holloway
And Ridley last year did not look like himself at all. And they was. I'm just remember games where he was in the game and he just looked so bad. I'm like, why would you ever give him a single carry? But I just don't remember them giving the ball that much. I'm going to look that up in.
Jason Moore
Terms of total carries.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, well, like were there games? Let's see. I guess towards the end of the.
Jason Moore
Last seven, seven carries, nine carries for.
Andy Holloway
Ridley, that would, that would definitely eat into the overall. And that was for a guy who was injured coming into no team in.
Jason Moore
The league had more touchdowns at the wide receiver position. That'll continue. Decker and Marshall will both be forces around the red zone and if Robinson's in there, you're going to have reduced. I mean, Forte has never been a high touchdown guy. That's just been the case. All right, let's move on. Let's talk about the Dolphins now. What do you want to talk about?
Andy Holloway
Well, Ryan Tannehill is an interesting candidate to talk about. He is a guy that coming into last season was pretty highly touted from the fantasy community. We were, you know, we were saying that he could have a breakout season last year. He was probably overdrafted a little bit and then he severely disappointed. And in fantasy there is always those post hype sleepers. The guys that they got hyped, they failed on that hype. And then the next year everyone is completely dead to them. But that's the year they break out and perform. And I feel like at the quarterback position there are two guys that could play that role this year. That's Ryan Tannehill and Matt Ryan. I think we could have been one year early with them being more of a breakout candidate. But it's scary, right? I mean, I'm not excited to draft Ryan Tannehill. I don't think he's a very great quarterback. I don't even think he's a very good quarterback. He's had so many different offensive coordinators and head coaches where you could say, well, maybe that's the problem, but maybe he's the problem. And the reason they've had so many different changes at the top, because he can't get it done.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I mean, this is one of those things we talked about on the show the other day. There. There are players you're willing to be right about or wrong about. There's players you're willing to be wrong about. I'm not willing to be wrong about Ryan Tannehill. He'll be on none of my teams. I don't believe in him. I like, you know, he's going to have some baseline output because this is the modern NFL. I mean, Blaine Gabbard has value in leagues with different depth, and so Ryan Tannehill won't be on my teams. I just don't believe in his ability to get over the hump as an elite quarterback. I believe much more in Matt Ryan Jarvis, Landry, Devonte Parker. You got Leonte Carew now in the mix there, and a guy whose name is just gone. Jordan Cameron. Nobody mentions Jordan Cameron anymore. Nobody talks about Jordan Cameron. The Dolphins tight ends averaged something like three receptions a game last year, which was almost dead last in the league other than the Jets. Who we just talked about is Jordan Cameron, a late round flyer, because they, they talk like they want to have him involved. They paid him the year before last.
Andy Holloway
He was. He's a good tight end. He's actually talented. I mean, last year when we were talking about possible breakouts, we talked about Jordan Reed and Jordan Cameron. Those two guys had come from years prior where you had seen special ability on the field. Jordan Reed obviously broke out. Jordan Cameron completely disappeared. I saw a stat about Ryan Tannehill's yards per reception to all of the different targets. I believe it was over the last few years. But there was nobody, I mean nobody even in the ballpark of as low as Jordan Cameron was. Ryan Tannehill and Jordan Cameron don't really have a great connection. So the question is, can Adam Gaze fix that or not? Because Adam Gaze, you know, he's got a history of producing a decent tight end number.
Jason Moore
I'm going to make an announcement, all right? I'm staying away from the, from the stinking Dolphins. I know Blade look, here's the problem I have with them. You're not talking about a, an offense that was. I can't put it all on Adam Gase to fix an entire offensive system. This is a team that was 23rd in rushing, 19th in passing. So they're back half to middle to back half. Gave up a ton of sacks, gave up a ton of quarterback hits. Tannehill didn't run again last year. Oh, and let's, let's go ahead and take a guy you love, an offensive force in Lamar Miller. Let's remove him from the team.
Andy Holloway
But Andy, they got Aaron Foster.
Jason Moore
Yeah, exactly. So now you've got an RBBC between A Jayee and Drake and Foster and whoever else you want to run the ball. You've got devonte Parker, who's unproven. Jarvis Landry is the only guy on this team that I would draft with confidence in PPR and half point leagues because he'll get his. But just stay away, stay away from the. I'm putting up a sign. It's a, it's a big dolphin and it's got an X through it. And I'm just staying away from the dolphin.
Andy Holloway
I don't blame you at all for that. I agree that Jarvis Landry is the safest option of everybody. The only other intriguing option, a little bit, would be devontae Parker if he continues to go where he's going, which is the seventh round.
Jason Moore
All right.
Andy Holloway
At that position. I will say this.
Jason Moore
I won't take him there.
Andy Holloway
I probably won't take him there either because he's still going ahead of guys I love. In fact, two of our favorite guys, right? My John Brown, your Tyler Lockett. Yeah, I would take both of those guys ahead of devonte Parker.
Jason Moore
Please, please.
Andy Holloway
But they are going right next to each other. So yeah, the Dolphins, they have a lot of names that are getting fantasy buzz. But I don't think that with, with all those names, I don't think they're going to be able to come together to be a high powered offense. Right. Because if you talk about all these names, Landry, Parker, Ajayi Foster, Tannehill, you've got teams that produce like, like that where you've got a couple wide receivers, a great quarterback, good running backs. But those are always those like top five offenses. You're talking about Arizona with Palmer and the trio of wide receivers and David Johnson. You're talking about, you know, the Broncos when, when they had a good Peyton Manning. That's not the Dolphins. They're not going to do that so I would have no problem heeding your advice here and kind of just steering clear of the Fins entirely.
Jason Moore
I feel like if they're going to win games this year, it's going to be the defense playing well and they'll do just enough on offense to win some games. I just don't, I don't see them as an elite offense. But you know, Arian Foster, prove me wrong. I'd be happy to see you go out and dominate again off an Achilles injury, but I just don't think it's going to happen. And I want to move on to the Bills and we're going to play keep, trade, cut. But I don't want to leave here and bury what most fantasy owners probably want to hear us debate, even though I want to stay away from the Dolphins. Jai or Arian Foster, who do you take? Who's going to put up the most production?
Andy Holloway
I think the guy that's going to put up.
Jason Moore
See the future, Jason.
Andy Holloway
See the future. Well, according to my dream last night.
Jason Moore
We'Re bringing this back. Jason had. For those that didn't listen, last year, Jason had like three or four weird dreams in the middle of the year. Hey, they one came true, I think.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Well, I think I had one big one and that was Ryan Matthews.
Jason Moore
If you have any doubt that we are a year round podcast where we do. We work 60 to 70 hours a day on the podcast. Just realize, Jason, that's how the 60, 70 hours sleep. That's how we do the math. It's in the sleep. There's 50, 60 hours of research he's doing.
Andy Holloway
Jay Ajayi was a beast in your sleep. He was so good that he finished his incredible run on a bicycle. So I don't. Yeah, that's, that's not very good fantasy football analysis. But we will admit that if I had to say who's going to finish better this year, I have more trust in Arian Foster at his age, coming off of his injury than I do in Jay Ajayi, who has not done it yet. I think because there are both of those guys, neither one is going to get the volume that it takes to really be successful. I would draft Arian Foster over Jay Ajayi. I will speak for Mike, who has the opposite opinion since he's not here.
Jason Moore
Will you do his voice?
Andy Holloway
Oh, man, I wish. I. I don't even know. Right?
Jason Moore
Yeah. Hey, guys, it's me, Mike.
Andy Holloway
Hey, I think I'm gonna go with J.
Jason Moore
That was really good. That was spot on.
Andy Holloway
In fact, you're listening, Mike.
Jason Moore
I was gonna say, if you're not watching on YouTube, I'm pretty sure they thought he was here.
Andy Holloway
Oh, yeah. But he wasn't.
Jason Moore
All right, let's.
Andy Holloway
Well, who's your. Who's your guy? Which one would you be taking?
Jason Moore
You know, probably a jai by a nose. In an unproductive rbbc, that makes me disappointed that I have anybody in it.
Andy Holloway
The real question is going to be who?
Jason Moore
In a league. In a standard league, straight up standard, I'd take Aaron Foster. So in a half point or full, I would take jj.
Andy Holloway
That's weird because I feel like Arian Foster is.
Jason Moore
Wait, what did I just say? Did I just say the backwards?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you said the backwards.
Jason Moore
Oh, okay. Yes. I meant it the other way around.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Jason Moore
In a pure standard, I would take jj. In a half point or four, I would take Aaron Foster.
Andy Holloway
That actually makes sense.
Jason Moore
There you go. All right, let's talk about the Bills.
Andy Holloway
They're my offensive sleeper. I'm saying that now.
Jason Moore
That's fine.
Andy Holloway
It's weird because they're not getting love. They weren't a high power offense last year, but we had a question a couple weeks back of like, what did run the ball. Yes.
Jason Moore
Better than anybody in the league.
Andy Holloway
They certainly are going to ground and pound. That's a Rex Ryan team. But I like the pieces there. I think Tyrod Taylor is a good fantasy option and a good NFL quarterback. So long as he could stay healthy, he's good. Sammy Watkins, to me is one of the most talented receivers in the league. And I'm including everybody. I think Sammy Watkins is as elite as it gets from just. His problem is they don't throw the ball that much.
Jason Moore
Yep.
Andy Holloway
LaShawn McCoy. What does he have to do to prove more and more that he is a great fantasy football option? The last few years he's been doubted. Now coming off of last year, a lot of people are down on him because he got injured. He didn't perform to what they had hoped. But in the games he played and he got off to a slow start, but in the games he played, he was very good. And if you look over the last few years at which running backs finish in the top five, it's all about volume. There are no top five finishers that did not have an incredible piece of the timeshare of that offense.
Jason Moore
Is Jamal Charles an exception? No, Jamal Charles is, I guess when you said of that offense. Yeah. Okay. Even if he doesn't have.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. The percentage.
Jason Moore
Massive carry numbers. He was percentage of the offense. Touches, touches Wise.
Andy Holloway
That's what I'm talking about.
Jason Moore
Okay, so yeah, McCoy, I think we said it a couple shows ago. I think he could end up in a top three. He could easily be. There are certain players that cannot be a top three back. McCoy could finish number one, right? He could. He has to stay healthy. That was the problem last year too. They sure the Bills running back core average the most yards per carry, the most yards per game. A lot of that was Carlos WILLIAMS Because LaShawn McCoy was on. You know, Carlos Williams I think led the league in yards per carry. That being said, McCoy has to stay healthy. There's a lot of trouble right now. Carlos Williams came in overweight. Jonathan Williams issues with the law. Look, they're talking about signing Reggie Bush because they need depth at running back. That's a good sign for Lashama Coy.
Andy Holloway
Right.
Jason Moore
So I think McCoy is somebody that should probably be moved up in most.
Andy Holloway
Well and he is going up in average draft. He was in the third round. Now he is at the back of the second round. He's going by guys that I think would be tough for me to decide between. Say like Doug Martin. Martin and Lashawn McCoy. I don't want to make that decision. I really don't. I like both guys. If I had to choose, I think I'm going to take Shady.
Jason Moore
You know, if you drop Philip Rivers in the, in the second round, you don't have to make that decision.
Andy Holloway
Thank you for that. Good. You have really helped my fancy football.
Jason Moore
So if you start.
Andy Holloway
Hold on, let me write this down. Philip Rivers, second round. Got it.
Jason Moore
Are you with Mike that Tyrod Taylor is a sleeper?
Andy Holloway
Oh, I am 100% with Mike. I think Tyrod Taylor, his. His average draft position right now is he's going in the 11th round and he's a guy that scores with his legs. He runs the ball.
Jason Moore
Does he?
Andy Holloway
He also throws a lot of touchdowns. I mean for the amount of. His percentage of touchdowns for attempt are very high.
Jason Moore
And I think of that Sammy Watkins guy.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Jason Moore
He throws the ball up to Sammy Watkins deep.
Andy Holloway
And you saw it the second half of the year. You saw that there was a change. And I remember reading an article about a plane flight that they had back where the two of them were talking and this was last year, the two of them were talking about, hey, we've got to get in sync and I've got to start force feeding you the ball more. After that game. After that game they did exactly that. And Sammy Watkins I think was like the fourth best wide receiver in fantasy football over the rest of the season. And if he continues to do that and comes and says, hey, I'm just going to throw it to that beast of a Sammy Watkins guy, I think they're going to be fine. Look at, look at what DEZ Bryant did a couple of years ago with the Cowboys when the Cowboys ran the ball and were not a pass heavy team at all.
Jason Moore
That's what you have to hope for, right? Is that that recipe for success for Watkins? Because you're not arguing, you're arguing that Watkins is an athletic beast, that he's a great player and a great fantasy option. You're not arguing that the volume is going to be there.
Andy Holloway
No, I don't. I don't believe the volume will be there. I do believe the volume will be there the following year after Rex Ryan gets fired.
Jason Moore
But you know what I was just thinking about? I was just thinking about the fact I drafted Josh Gordon in our dynasty startup.
Andy Holloway
Oh, no, that's true.
Jason Moore
Isn't that a really nice thing? I got to put him with Julio and Brandon Marshall and Tyler Lockett now. Sean. Jeffrey.
Andy Holloway
Oh, man, that sucks so much.
Jason Moore
That is an incredible team.
Andy Holloway
I quit the show.
Jason Moore
All right, that's it for our divisional breakdown. Let's do a few Keep Trade Cut before we show Shut the show down.
Andy Holloway
Keep Trade Cut.
Jason Moore
Before we shut the show down. Before it's over. It's just done. We're done. Mike's gone. We're shutting it down.
Andy Holloway
And actually, what's. What's funny about that is we're not even shutting the show down. We're just shifting over to YouTube. Yeah.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I have a story I'm gonna tell on the show after the show on YouTube that if you're a dad, you're going to love it and you're going to relate to it. So you're going to have to listen. All right. Keep Trade Cut. These ones came in off of Twitter at Steve O. Middleton wants us to play Keep Trade Cut with the Cardinals wide receiver corps of Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown and Michael Floyd.
Andy Holloway
I have been hoping since Keep Trade Cut became a thing that we would never do the Arizona Trio, because what it's going to make me do.
Jason Moore
Terrible.
Andy Holloway
I already know what I have to do.
Jason Moore
You're going to cut a Hall of Famer?
Andy Holloway
I'm going to cut a Hall of Famer. I'm going to cut Larry Fitzgerald. I'm going to keep John Brown.
Jason Moore
Sure.
Andy Holloway
Because John Brown.
Jason Moore
Long term dynasty, man.
Andy Holloway
Not just. I mean, long term dynasty. He's great. Barring how many years Carson Palmer can play. But you know, Floyd is. Might not be signed. He's on a contract year. Fitz isn't going to play forever. I mean, Brown, just his trajectory. You look at the first few years of his career, they're great. And he could take a step up this year. I believe he will. I love John Brown this year. So he's my keeper solely. Whenever I keep a guy, when I decide who to trade and who to cut, it's always going to be whichever one has the most value. Which right now is just so easy to tell. You go to an average draft position, say who's drafted higher, and that would be Michael Floyd. So I got to trade Floyd in a dynasty.
Jason Moore
Do you like Brown or Lockett more? I got asked that today.
Andy Holloway
That's a great question.
Jason Moore
I thought you'd probably lean Brown and I leaned Lockett.
Andy Holloway
You know, the truth is I really want to lean Brown because I think Brown can be special. Special. I think like Antonio Brown, special. Special. The problem will always be the quarterback because if. If you got three more years of Carson Palmer and he leaves and they don't get a good replacement, he's not going to be anything special. So for that reason, I think I'd have to take Lockett.
Jason Moore
I'm just curious. Let me check something really quick here. You keep talking, all right?
Andy Holloway
I'm going to look at the next keep trade cut.
Jason Moore
Okay, here we go. All right. So Ben Roethlisberger. I was just curious how the dynasty comparison with the quarterback situation compares because Roethlisberger is 34, Palmer 36, Brady's 38. So I think you got a couple years there, based on Arians being in Arizona, to not only find a quarterback, but have two years of proficiency with Palmer.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I mean, hopefully that happens. The reality is those extra two years of age between Palmer and Big Ben, that's huge. I mean, that's two years of prime that will be gone from Carson.
Jason Moore
All right. Michael Belton, good cousin of Michael Bolton. That's how it works, right?
Andy Holloway
Cousins change one letter in the last name.
Jason Moore
Keenan Allen. Mike Evans. Does Bryant.
Andy Holloway
Say that again.
Jason Moore
Keenan Allen.
Andy Holloway
Keenan Allen.
Jason Moore
Mike Evans.
Andy Holloway
I love Mike Evans.
Jason Moore
DEZ Bryant.
Andy Holloway
But not as much as Des Bryant. So Des Bryant would be my keeper. I think I've said this recently. I can't remember if it was on our Join the Foot mailbag show, but DEZ Bryant, man. Mike posted a.
Jason Moore
You can't get over that video.
Andy Holloway
I can't get over it because I just didn't think DEZ Was going to be in shape and healthy this early because of the foot injury he's been rehabbing from. But he's. He's in shape.
Jason Moore
All right, Keep, trade, cut Keenan Allen, Mike Evans, Des Bryant.
Andy Holloway
Keeping Des Bryant for sure. And I believe Keenan Allen is being drafted ahead of Mike Evans. So I'm going to drop Mike Evans and keep Keenan.
Jason Moore
I'm going to keep Mike Evans for the long term. I'm going to keep him.
Andy Holloway
Are we doing this in dynasty? I mean, if we're talking long term, if this is a dynasty question, absolutely. I'm going Mike Evans.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I mean, I guess whenever I say the word keep out loud, I think of that. Keepers as keepers. Yeah, I'll stick with what you said, Des. Then if we're not going to frame it that way, then, Des, I will trade. Yeah, I'll trade the higher guy.
Andy Holloway
And I think we have to put, you know, when you say keep and keepers and dynasty, we have to put that in perspective because I think the majority of our listeners, our redraft listeners, and I think that there is a huge chunk to play in a keeper league, but not a dynasty league. And those are so different because you're.
Jason Moore
Far too mathematical with your analysis here. This is not meant to be an adp. Okay. On our rankings, we would take DEZ Bryant and then. This is not adp.
Andy Holloway
Sure. But I'm making a distinction here for our listeners. When Andy says, you know, a keeper, if this is a keeper league, I'm still taking Des over Mike Evans. That extra few years of youth is not going to make my decision. I'm taking the better player in a dynasty. It's completely different. You. You have your whole team forever at Yaken Bay.
Jason Moore
Keep, trade, cut. Lacey, C.J. anderson, Melvin Gordon. That's a tough.
Andy Holloway
Eddie Lacy, C.J. anderson, Kevin Gordon.
Jason Moore
All right, I'll answer this one first. I'm going to. I'm going to keep CG Anderson. I'm going to trade Eddie Lacy. I'm going to cut Melvin Gordon.
Andy Holloway
I'm going to keep Eddie Lacy. I think he's got the best offense. Trade C.J. anderson. Cut Melvin Gordon. So together we have cut Melvin Gordon.
Jason Moore
Yeah. And I like Melvin Gordon this year. I just, in this situation, gun to my head, which is how this is.
Andy Holloway
This. This one is a perfect example of, like, sometimes people say, well, what are your tiebreakers? Do you look at strength of schedule? I look at offense. That's one of the more important things to me is who's got the better quarterback, who's got the better offense, and that's going to be Green Bay.
Jason Moore
All right, Keep trade cut from Big Benjamin, Dion Lewis, Lamar Miller, C.J. anderson. Well, I'm keeping. And it's PPR, so I'm going to keep Lamar Miller. Yeah, I'm going to.
Andy Holloway
I'm going to cut Deion Lewis and CJ Anderson because Lamar Miller's so good. I don't need to trade.
Jason Moore
Of course. Yeah, yeah. I'll go ahead and I'll trade CJ Anderson and I'll have to cut Deon Lewis.
Andy Holloway
Yep. Full point ppr.
Jason Moore
It's funny. I love Deion Lewis and I think he'll be great this year. And I could see him, like, burning hot in the NFL for a couple years and just kind of like not being involved a lot for years to come. I don't know why. I just, you know, I don't have.
Andy Holloway
A lot of trust in.
Jason Moore
Yeah, yeah, that's the problem. All right, last one here at the FF Ballers tweet from Eric P. Dynasty. Keep trade cut. So he's asking in a dynasty. All right, Josh Ferguson, Keith Marshall, Wendell Smallwood.
Andy Holloway
So you got Josh Ferguson, the backup for the Colts, old man Frank Gore there. You got Keith Marshall back up for the Red Jones. Yeah, for Matt Jones. And Widow Smallwood, backup for the Eagles, Winnell Smallwood sucks as a football player.
Jason Moore
I don't know why you're so, like, pronounced with that.
Andy Holloway
I know. I'm sorry. Hey, we did. Mike said that about Devonta Freeman and then had to issue him.
Jason Moore
You're exactly right. So, hey, if I don't like Smallwood that much, I just think, honestly, if I had to keep one of these, it's Wendell Smallwood.
Andy Holloway
Really.
Jason Moore
It is. Because I don't think Ryan Matthews is going to be in Philadelphia forever, and I don't think Darren Sprolz is going to be into Philadelphia forever. Josh Ferguson, I'd love to make him my pick, but he's an undrafted guy who is unproven, and I don't buy into the hype. But Andy, they wanted to draft him, yada, yada, yada. And Keith Marshall's behind Matt Jones. I think Keith Marshall's.
Andy Holloway
Keith Marshall's definitely the guy.
Jason Moore
I think he's the most talented of these guys. I just think the opportunity is going to be there for Smallwood to produce in PPR more than Marshall will.
Andy Holloway
My keep is Keith Marshall because I think he is the most talented of the three guys. And I think there's a. I can see a path where Matt Jones goes out there's just nobody else there. And if Matt Jones goes out and stinks like he did last year and can't get the job done, if Keith Marshall can, then he's got an easy path to high success.
Jason Moore
All right, well, that is it for today's show. Hopefully you could. You didn't miss Mike too much. I know we didn't. Make sure you check out fantasyjocks.com our studio sponsor. They've got some great trophies, great deals on there.
