Andy Holloway
Welcome to the show. We're back again. The Fantasy Footballers Podcast for Thursday, February. Oh, it's not Thursday. Tuesday, February 23rd. It starts with a T. 2016. Close enough. You could be listening to this on Thursday. After a couple of hard days of work, you just couldn't get away. Now you pop over to your podcast app and put on the Fantasy Footballers. And I'm glad you did, because we have a great show today. We've got our way way too much. The people have demanded it unconscionably. Early mock draft. Everyone loves mock drafts, especially seals.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Andy Holloway
Clapping like a seal didn't. Don't have wrist joints anymore. That's Jason Moore. I'm Andy Holloway. Oh, who is Mike the fantasy hitman, Right, Is here. Oh, yeah. Ted Thompson, was it.
Jason Moore
Yeah, it was the poniest.
Unknown
Where he didn't know how to clap.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. You posted that on Twitter.
Jason Moore
That was so funny. Go look for that gif.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, look that up. All right. Today we do have a way too early mock draft. A February 23rd mock draft. It'll be fun. It'll be fun to talk about players. Yes. Free agency is still to come. The draft is still to come and many changes will come to this draft board. But why not talk about some guys? That's really what a mock draft is about. It's about making decisions. It's about talking about players. And you know, that's what we're going to do today. So stay tuned for that. It's coming up very shortly. If you want to get a hold of us, you can do so on twitter@the ffballers, the website, the fantasy footballers.com. you can also find us on Facebook. We're on YouTube as well. And on YouTube, you can also watch the show after the show, which we record right after the episode today. Jason just looked up at Ted Thompson.
Jason Moore
Yes. We will be posting this from our Twitter, so follow us at the fo.
Andy Holloway
I think we will be on a schedule of probably posting that gif once a month.
Jason Moore
Yeah. It's just so great. He doesn't know how to clap. Who claps like that?
Andy Holloway
You just did.
Jason Moore
Well, I was making fun of. Hopefully he's doing the same.
Unknown
So that's not the face of a man who's making fun of anything.
Andy Holloway
No, he. There's been some awkward things happening in the booths lately with Eli Manning and Ted Thompson. People don't. You get in there and it's like you don't know what you're doing if.
Unknown
You had Thompson and Eli cheering at the same time at that Super Bowl.
Andy Holloway
Not bad.
Jason Moore
Exciting.
Andy Holloway
So we, we have the NFL combines coming up, starts on Friday. I think they're showing up today. So that's an exciting time for rookies. So we will talk a little bit about that after we see how that shakes out. Quick question for the day. We brought this up a little while back or somebody brought up that we should figure out how our streaming quarterback recommendations did during the year. And just to contextualize that, every single week during the year, we made three separate streaming quarterback recommendations.
Jason Moore
Guys, you could get off of waivers each week.
Andy Holloway
Exactly.
Jason Moore
For those of you that don't know what a streamer is.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Somebody that you could probably sign in your league and start at quarterback. We're big proponents of drafting quarterbacks later and using your. Your first picks on running backs and wide receivers or a more valuable position because we feel like you can get really good value out of streamers. Last year, you had Carson Palmer, you had Derek Carr, you had Blake Bortles, you had Cam Newton, Tom Brady. All those guys went really late and they were really valuable. So we actually had a listener that decided to dig into the details. Now, we don't copy each other on our streaming recommendations each week because we want to give you three separate options because you're league. Somebody might be signed, Kirk Cousins could be gone and you need to go get Jameis Winston or something. So I'm gonna go ahead and play his voicemail because he did the math and he deserves his time on the air. So here we go.
Mike Wright
Hey, what's up, guys? This is Jared from Vegas. I'm gonna try to keep this short. I did some number crunching on your quarterback streamers.
Jason Moore
I don't know if I'm the only.
Mike Wright
One that did this, but overall, you guys on average for the season drafted the six or streamed the six best quarterback in the league. That's your total points divided by the three of you. Overall, you were 6, 49% of your picks were QB1s. You had two weeks where no one drafted a QB1. You had one week where all three of you drafted or streamed a QV1. That was week 17. Individually, Andy streamed the fifth best quarterback all year. Mike streamed the sixth best quarterback all year. Jason streamed the eighth best quarterback all year. So you guys were all top 10. Andy streamed 10 QV1s at 59%. Jason eight QB1s at 47%. Mike seven QV1s at 41%. And as far as standard deviation, Jason was the best at consistency with a standard deviation about four and a half. Andy was second with just over five. And Mike was the boomer bust at almost eight standard deviation. When I figured standard deviation, I took out your worst weeks because you all had one major outlier. Andy had Fitzpatrick the other week, he broke his thumb. I omitted Jason's Landry Jones experiment and so on and so forth.
Jason Moore
So. All right.
Mike Wright
Love the show. And that's it.
Andy Holloway
So first of all, thank you very much. Thank you very much for that. That's pretty neat to see. And so just, you know, when you, when you hear that you basically could have streamed the six best quarterback and then had that first pick for a running back or wide receiver.
Jason Moore
And that's, I mean, that's essentially if you don't even draft a quarterback because we're finding these guys off of waivers every week. The idea when we draft is to get a guy. You know, last year you were looking at Philip Rivers, who you had for half of the year, who was really good. Mike. So, yeah, I mean, when you draft the quarterback high, you are wasting one of your picks when you potentially, potentially, most likely, obviously if you land, if you use a pick on that guy you think is going to be the number one quarterback and he turns out to be the number one quarterback, you probably waste your pick.
Unknown
Maybe.
Jason Moore
Well, that's why I say you didn't waste it. You didn't waste it, but you still could do better than that because even though the guy finishes number one week in, week out, he's not going to be number one every week and you'll never sit.
Unknown
The only way it's not a waste to me is those years where you took Andrew Luck in the fourth round and he was clearly the number one or the year people were taking Wilson, which he, even this year he finished a bit high, but they took Wilson slightly later than his value returned. I just, I think you, if you spend a top two pick first or second round on a quarterback you have, you're not going to return your value for the, for the points.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And so it's good to get some. It's nice to see some statistical foundation for that because we talk about it all offseason and some people, you know, it's not easier. I don't think it's easier for a fantasy owner to skip over a quarterback and draft one late because it's more work to stream a guy. But we think it's the most efficient use of your picks. And so. All right, before we get into the mock draft and the news and such. We're going to take a second to read a review from the listeners. You know, we're an independent podcast. You know, we exist because of you, the listener. And one of the biggest ways that you can help us out is to go on to whatever app you listen to us. Most of you, it's itunes, the podcast app, and just leave us a review. It's a good way to say thanks. It takes a couple seconds and. And we really appreciate those. So we like to every couple of weeks read a review from the listeners.
Jason Moore
Review a source. Rex, this one comes in from Duke of Elves. He sounds very important. Heading into this past fantasy football season, I was adrift and disillusioned after years of listening to another fantasy football pod. A friend recommended I check out the fantasy footballers, and I'm so glad I did. Andy, Jason, and Mike bring the fun and the facts to each episode, and their friendship shines through and makes the listener feel like a fourth buddy sitting in on a great conversation. Thanks to these three. I won three leagues this year, including my league of record for the first time, and some of their strategies and recommendations were critical to my success. Can't sing these guys praises enough. Well, Sir Duke of Elves, we thank you for the kind words, and we're happy to be a part of your championship runs.
Unknown
I mean, you guys.
Andy Holloway
You guys know the triple F's is what we got, by the way.
Unknown
What ship cannot be sunk. That's friendship. That's friendship.
Jason Moore
Wow.
Andy Holloway
I'm glad I shook my head.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Andy and I were just hanging there going, we're uncultured swine.
Andy Holloway
Right?
Unknown
It was either the friendship joke or I started singing Duke of Elves to the tune of Duke of Earl.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, well, either way, we were.
Unknown
I might need to do both.
Andy Holloway
News.
Jason Moore
And notes from around the league.
Andy Holloway
All right. We talked a lot about Dion Lewis a couple weeks ago. Louis. ACL recovery has been going good, according to surgical. Going well. Did I say good?
Unknown
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Oh, I feel bad now. It's been encouraging according to surgeon Dr. James Andrews so far. So they expect him back for week one.
Unknown
That's the. That's the news. That's the rumors on the streets, and I think it's fantastic. I believe that Dion Lewis will be undervalued in drafts because of just the ACL combined with the scare of the Patriots and Bill Belichick screwing people over fantasy for years. However, as of this point, I'm fully on the Dion Lewis bandwagon.
Andy Holloway
All right. I like it. I Made some arguments, didn't I? Didn't I talk you into it a little bit? Would have been fourth best running back when he left.
Unknown
He was great.
Jason Moore
Yeah. The problem is whether or not they're going to go out for me is whether or not they're going to go out and sign a bigger running back replacement. If they are worried about the injury or, you know, draft one high, if they come back with the team intact, how it is, they resign legarrett Blunt.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
They maybe pick up some Jackson.
Andy Holloway
They just haven't done it. They haven't done what you're fearful of.
Unknown
No.
Andy Holloway
For so long.
Jason Moore
They have not. And so if they continue status quo, I am in complete agreement. Dion Lewis is going to be one of the steals of the draft.
Andy Holloway
Somebody who no matter where you would ever draft him will always be overvalued forever. Joseph Randall has been arrested yet again. He was shown on video during the arrest saying, my career is over.
Unknown
It is.
Andy Holloway
Which it is.
Jason Moore
That is so sad.
Andy Holloway
Which is just disappointing. Last offseason we were speculating about the value of Joseph Randall. He came out, he gave some people, you know, remember that Falcons game too. He had some big games but his career seems shot and it's, it's just sad. I mean, I didn't bring it up to make light of it really. Just to say it's too bad, you know.
Jason Moore
Can I tell you what I was wearing when I read this news blurb? Wow.
Unknown
Was it. This is like your JFK moment.
Jason Moore
Yes, this is my jfk.
Unknown
I was in my living room.
Jason Moore
I was. I was upstairs in my master bedroom.
Andy Holloway
I don't know where this conversation is going.
Jason Moore
I was wearing. Well, because it came out. It came out the same day as a, as another piece of news. I was wearing my Arizona Cardinals Max hall jersey. Why were you wearing my. My, my three year old got it.
Andy Holloway
Every person that is listening to.
Unknown
Why were you wearing.
Andy Holloway
Who is Max?
Jason Moore
Yes, who is Max hall? He is a 15 minute of fame quarterback who looked like he was gonna be the next great thing until he fell into drugs and terrible quarterback play.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, not in that order.
Unknown
Yeah, but he was also back in the news. Max Hall.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Well, that's what it reminded me.
Andy Holloway
All right, so moving on. Free agent Lamar Miller says he wants to be a featured back and he throw. He threw out the name or the number 20. He wants 20 touches a game. Wherever he lands, whether it's Miami or somewhere else.
Unknown
Feed him. I, I like it. I like where his head is at. Especially for fantasy purposes that if he.
Andy Holloway
Is saying, you like to see.
Unknown
Well, then wherever he signed, we have to have the assumption that the team has told him, okay, we'll give you 20 touches a week.
Andy Holloway
And Heath Miller has retired. Heath, he was a consummate professional, a great tight end.
Unknown
It's a little shocking. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
He could have stayed around a couple more years maybe.
Unknown
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
But in the time to go, more players are making that decision. They're making that decision, you know, and saying, all right, it's time.
Unknown
And the fantasy implications. Jesse James, at least right now, is the next man up.
Andy Holloway
But is he the next New Orleans? Josh Hill. Josh Hill hype in the offseason?
Unknown
No, because he hasn't done anything where it just. He's at least in line. But Pittsburgh, I expect them to add. To add somebody like a Dwayne Allen, for instance.
Andy Holloway
Well, are you guys ready to mock draft? You want to get into this?
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
All right, here we go.
Jason Moore
The Fantasy Footballers mock draft.
Andy Holloway
Well, if you listen to the show before, we had several mock draft episodes last offseason, and we always use fantasydraftwizard.com that's what we're doing today. We are going to be mock drafting 12 teams, standard scoring, and we randomly chose a position to draft from, and that random number landed on 10. So we're drafting from the 10th spot, and we will be walking through here. And basically what we try to do is give you a look into our thinking and how we think about drafting and how we think about this specific mock draft. This will be very, very interesting to me because this is about as early as you can. Yeah, we're pre.
Jason Moore
We're pre free agency and pre the NFL draft. So this is going to be. This is the time where I would actually recommend for people to start getting in and mocking. Go to fantasydraftwizard.com because one of the best things you can do to prepare for the draft is just doing mock drafts. You get to try it out. And then what happens is after the NFL draft and free agency opens up, you. You get to see how the movement, how players shift. And watching that happen before your eyes, if you're already prepared beforehand, it kind of gives you more of a pulse of like, who's being overvalued or undervalued.
Andy Holloway
And just so you understand, the players that are picked outside of our selections are chosen based off of essentially ADP lists. Right. Where people have census consensus expert rankings. And so we just clicked. I just click go. We just started the draft. We're the 10th pick in the draft. I'M going to run it back to you. You guys start looking at who you want to take the first pick in this draft, which we may see a lot of, is Antonio Brown.
Unknown
Yeah, I have. I have no problem with it in the. A question that we probably don't have an answer on here. It's just an interesting talking point, I think, is there's going to be a lot of drafts. Antonio Brown number one, Le'Veon Bell number two, or even Flip those guys. And have we. I can't think of the last time or if ever this has happened where it's a two players from two players from one team and they're one and two. I mean, that's. I'm not arguing against it. I think it's gnarly.
Andy Holloway
We did a mock and we put our roster. We each individually did one.
Jason Moore
Oh, yeah.
Andy Holloway
We. Our roster.
Unknown
The results from.
Andy Holloway
We do on Twitter. And you guys both selected Antonio Brown. One. We all drafted from the one spot. I took Love Bell one. And so I think Jason ended up winning that in the end.
Unknown
Really? Jason came back.
Andy Holloway
I think he came back and beat me.
Jason Moore
But our listeners are wise.
Andy Holloway
He also. Yeah, he tweeted it off his own account like 45 more times after that. Do you want to give the results or are we going to move on here with the mock?
Jason Moore
Yeah, I'm looking for them.
Andy Holloway
So here's what happened in the first round up to our pick. And number 10, Antonio Brown went one. Love Bell two. AP went three. Surprise. Eddie Lacy went number four.
Unknown
Yeah, that's. There's. That won't be right.
Andy Holloway
Jamal Charles went five. I love that. Everything I'm reading about Jamal Charles recovery is stellar, by the way. Julio Jones went six. David Johnson went seven. That's high.
Jason Moore
That is very high. I'm out of guys like Todd Gurley.
Andy Holloway
Marshawn lynch went, oh, wow. So he still beat. That one's still sitting in there. So we got to take Marshawn. Let's just flip him out for Rawls here.
Unknown
Sure.
Andy Holloway
And Odell Beckham Jr. Went nine. And so you see a little bit of what's happened here because see these lists? Some of the consensus lists still had Marshawn in there before he announced that he's likely to retire. He hasn't formally retired, right?
Unknown
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
I mean, he hung up his cleats on Twitter, but he hasn't formally retired.
Unknown
I imagine that Calvin will probably be in here as well, but we will continue.
Andy Holloway
Proceed. So right now I know who your pick is. Yeah. I mean, right now. Todd Gurley's on the board. You also have other people that would be considered right here would be Rob Gronkowski because of his dominating tight end position.
Jason Moore
DeAndre Hopkins does Brian, one of the best at the wide receiver.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. You got. You have a bunch of the wide receivers that did well. You have Doug Martin still on the board who you know, if he resigned could be a top five running back and then other running backs. Devonte Freeman is not gone. You have Alan Robinson and that's pretty much our consideration here. To me, the pick in a standard league right here, it's Todd Gurley. I don't really question that at all. I think it's. He won't be here when the push comes to shove in the. In the actual drafts as we move down the summer.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I agree. Normally this year I am much more inclined to take wide receivers early and the reason is because there aren't very many guys that I really believe in at running back to put that first round draft stock in. Todd Gurley is one of those guys. To get him into 10th is not something you should pass up. So I would clearly vote for Todd Gurley here. Yeah.
Unknown
And my vote would be Gurley. And I'm not, I still don't. I'm not on board with taking Gronk in the first round. I understand the position scarcity. I understand he is dominant at the tight end position. But to me, I'm just. I'm not paying that price for my tight end.
Andy Holloway
Well, the pick right after that, I totally understand that. Yeah. The team right after us took Rob Gronkowski and then DeAndre Hopkins went Dez Bryant and Alan Robinson. So taking a quick time out, debate the merits of the Hopkins vs Bryant vs Robinson's decision making here because I feel like you could make very compelling arguments for each wide receiver situation. Robinson is 22 years old, incredible youth. You know, Dez Bryant has been a touchdown machine. When he's healthy, he's got Romo. That connection has been pretty much unstoppable in fantasy. And obviously Hopkins is just the targets were off. Incredible.
Jason Moore
I would rank these guys. DES first, Hopkins second, Alan Robinson third. And here's why. When you have a guy playing at a Hall of Fame caliber level for many years in des, you already know what you have. And you have a guy that can finish as the number one wide receiver last year got derailed because of injury to him and the quarterback. Both guys will be back. So he's going to be first for me on my board. Then you've got two high Upside guys. And the tiebreaker for me between those guys is just targets. DeAndre Hopkins is going to get so many more targets than Alan Robinson does. Alan Robinson only caught 80 total balls last year, which is great. But by comparison, his yards per catch.
Andy Holloway
Was up at this almost 18.
Jason Moore
Yeah. And he had 16 touchdowns with only 80 catches, which is shows the chance for regression.
Unknown
And for me, it would be. I would actually take Hopkins first of this group. And I know that 14.
Jason Moore
That might be 14 touchdowns.
Andy Holloway
It sounded a little high.
Unknown
And the reason I'm going to go with Hopkins is I don't think we've seen the best. The best that Hopkins has to bring. We know that he's dominant. A stat that was highlighted for him was yards after catch. And he has said that this is. He's going to spend his offseason improving in this area of his game because he was not even in the top 100 for wide receivers for yards after catch, which is shocking.
Jason Moore
So his bad yard, yards after catches, why you're taking him first?
Unknown
I'm taking him because of where he finished. And if he can improve that, then he could easily, easily be the number one wide receiver.
Andy Holloway
And he's a. He's 23. I mean, he's a monster. Yeah. So, all right, he dresses awesome.
Jason Moore
He does a fact dress other than his silly hats.
Andy Holloway
Todd. Todd Gurley was our pick in the first round, so we get a quick pick here because we drafted at number 10. So let's take a quarterback. So after these guys. Mike, if we could ask you to please leave, that'd be fine. All right. So right now, devonte Freeman still on the board for us coming back around in the second round, Those three wide.
Jason Moore
Receivers are gone that we just talked about as well as Gronk.
Andy Holloway
Right. And so Doug Martin's on the board, Devonte Freeman, AJ Green marking on the board. And basically, you know, that. That seems like probably the crop out. Sean Jeffrey, Jordy Nelson.
Jason Moore
Now, one thing to point out in this draft, this is a. This draft is for three starting wide receivers and two running backs. So it does give a little bit more value to having.
Unknown
I'm taking a wide out here.
Jason Moore
I'm not necessarily taking it there, but I think we should point that out for consider.
Unknown
That's good.
Andy Holloway
So to me, if you're. So if you're leaning wide out, Mike, who stands out to you? Are you willing to take a chance on somebody like Jordy Nelson above, you know, a guy like Brandon Marshall or A.J. green that were much more. Or even Alshon Jeffrey that were more proven last year. Jordy's kind of old.
Unknown
Yeah, Jordy's kind of old coming off that acl. So I think I would prefer to take a guy like Green or Marshall or even Alshon. We don't know necessarily Alshon's landing spot at this point, but though that's where I would be picking out of any.
Andy Holloway
Temptation, Jason, to take another running back here, even if it's not Freeman to go with somebody like Martin or Ingram.
Jason Moore
There is a little bit of temptation. But I think when you're in a three wide receiver, two running back situation, and we picked here close to the turn, so we're not going to get a pick for a long time to.
Andy Holloway
Get that elite wide receiver, and I.
Jason Moore
Think we're going to need him. So I would go wide receiver here, and between the wide receivers, there's plenty that I like. I think my two favorites would be Alshon, Jeffrey and AJ Green out of this bunch. With Marvin Jones leaving, it makes me lean a little bit towards AJ Green.
Andy Holloway
I'm very high on AJ Green this year. When we did our episode of Players with Overreactions, he was one of the players that I considered putting in there because he hasn't. He had some really boom games last year where he scored a ton of points and then he kind of people felt like he wasn't the consistent dominant force. But if you look at his stat line at the end of the year, he was. I, all of you have, or both of you have mentioned AJ Green in your conversation of players to pick here. So I think I'll. I'll take A.J. green. That's good with me because he's in my consideration, too.
Jason Moore
Let's do it.
Andy Holloway
All right, so we'll take our first two picks, Gurley and A.J. green. And then like Jason said, we drafted there at the turn. And so we have a long way to go. Yeah, a long way to go. Now, one player that's on the board that has dropped tremendously down the board that we're going to have to debate is Lashaun McCoy. So let me highlight some picks here. I'll do it quickly. I'm not going to read everyone off. And what we're going to do is we're going to post the entirety of this mock draft on our website and you'll be able to reference exactly what guys went. And so Devontae Freeman went right after AJ Green, our pick. We saw our first quarterback. Andrew Luck went in the second round. You have Marshall. Jeffrey, you had CJ Anderson, you had Hyde go in the second round and then some of the third round picks here. Jordy Nelson, Mike Evans, Aaron Rodgers, Demarys Thomas, Mark Ingram, Doug Martin, Jeremy Hill, and now Cam Newton went. Interestingly enough, Newton went after Rogers and after Luck. Is that what you expect to see from the draft?
Jason Moore
I don't expect that to be the norm every time, but it wouldn't surprise me at all. You go, you go off of history as well. Aaron Rodgers, to me, if I, when I'm ranking these, Aaron Rodgers will be my number one quarterback that I'm going after. Not letting last year scare me when he loses his number one wide receiver. So that doesn't, that doesn't shock me here. Now you said we need to debate Lashawn McCoy.
Andy Holloway
No, we have other guys to debate above him. But okay, I want to debate McCoy simply on his value. Maybe it's not worth doing because we see how everything shakes out, so it's just going to take place later.
Unknown
Yeah, well, it's at least worth talking about. Let's say, let's give him our own suspension because to me a suspension will come no matter, no matter what happens with the outcome of.
Andy Holloway
So give him a game.
Unknown
The law. I was going to give them two, but you want to go with one?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, give him one game.
Unknown
Okay, so we got a one game suspension right here. Looking at the board, the, the running back situation is thinning out for guys who I think are the. The upper tier of team.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I would be drafting. You know, we get to come around here in the fourth round real quick. I'd be drafting running back right here.
Unknown
I, and I completely agree with that because I'm looking over at the wide receivers and I see several. I see about five guys who I love. And so you see. So I would take Shady McCoy here and hoping that a Sammy Watkins, Cooper Cooks or Allen and I'll even put Edelman in that group make it back to me on this next turn. I really.
Jason Moore
And Martavis Bryant, I think. Yeah.
Unknown
And actually I personally hope.
Andy Holloway
But there's other running backs on the board without risks. You've got Lamar Miller who would be T.J. yeldin.
Jason Moore
Lamar Miller would be my pick here.
Unknown
Jeremy Langford would be over Shady because of the, of the.
Andy Holloway
How in the world do you take any of these guys over. Over Latavius Murray?
Jason Moore
Hey, Latavius Murray.
Andy Holloway
If you think Murray is your guy.
Jason Moore
You know what I love about, about this is that people for no reason are so down on Latavius Murray this year. I can't wait to Get Latavius Murray around later than this because I'm going to laugh all the way when he's an absolutely fine back. He was the number six back this year in total rushing and receiving yards and he's being poo pooed on so.
Andy Holloway
But anyway, you don't want to take him here. You take Lamar Miller.
Jason Moore
I would take Lamar Miller. I think Lamar Miller is an elite running back talent who is looking for a team that's going to make him the bell cow. I think he's going to. I'm starting to think more and more he's going to return to Miami and if he does with that, will he.
Unknown
Get 20 touches in Miami?
Jason Moore
I don't think he's going to come back unless he has some kind of promise of touches.
Andy Holloway
Why, why is Jeremy Lankford not being considered here? This is the third round. Jeremy Langford is the starting running back for the Chicago Bears and he's a multi dimensional threat. Sure he may not be forte but he's his spots. McCoy could be suspended. Lamar Miller don't know where he's landing. You know you got Jonathan Stewart, you could go with him. He was very, very consistent. He had what six, seven games towards the middle of the year. 20 plus touches. To me I would take Langford, I'd take side of Langford here over Shady. Yes.
Jason Moore
So I think we've got like a.
Andy Holloway
That's a hot.
Jason Moore
We got a. We got a Bermuda triangle here. I would go Lamar Miller, you would go Shady and you would go Langford. Is that of those three guys is that.
Unknown
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
So how do we make that decision?
Jason Moore
I guess the champ makes the decision.
Unknown
Oh we go Lamar Miller all get ready for that all year. Foot clan.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Lamar Miller off the board. Coming back around Here in the fourth it went McCoy, Cooper, Stewart and Cooks. So we're sitting here now. Now this is where you would have liked to have just. You could have drafted Latavius Murray again.
Jason Moore
Yep.
Andy Holloway
But.
Jason Moore
And Langford who is still on the board here.
Andy Holloway
Right. But we don't have a flex in this mock.
Jason Moore
True.
Andy Holloway
So we only have wide receivers. So I'm not opposed to it. Why not give some perspective on that.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Run it first the starting line.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. You don't necessarily draft to fill your roster in order. Right. It's not like you're taking a tight end guaranteed in the sixth round because you filled your running backs and your wide receivers and you don't take your D and your kicker.
Jason Moore
Yeah. If you, if you best example is with quarterbacks and tight ends because normally you only need one of those guys. What happens in a lot of drafts is people will draft their. They've listened to some shows, they've read some stuff, they go, okay, I got to get running backs, wide receivers. Then once those are full, they immediately say, okay, I don't have a starting quarterback, I'm going to get the best quarterback I can. Or I don't have a starting tight end, I'm going to get the best one I can. The difference, and the problem with that strategy is you're so low into the rounds by that point that what happens is the difference between who you're going to take there and who you're going to take 30 picks later is barely anything. Whereas if you keep on the train of getting the depth of the more important positions and running back and wide receiver, you're going to get difference makers. So altogether, at this point in the draft, what I would be doing is I would say I'm not opposed to taking a running back, even though we don't have a flex position and building that running back depth. But I would want them when they are a really good value for this spot, if I still have wide receivers open, and I do. So I think I lean wide receiver based on that.
Andy Holloway
Now, any consideration here, and for the listener, I want to make sure they understand who's on the board. So running back, there's Yelden, Lankford, Murray, Deion Lewis, Chris Ivory. At wide receiver, the big names right now are Keenan Allen, Sammy Watkins, Julian Edelman. You got Hilton, Martavis Bryant, Cobb Macklin, and then at tight end, you do have Jordan Reed available here. You got Greg Olson available here in the fourth. Is Jordan Reed in the fourth? Too much of a stretch.
Unknown
That's too high for me. In a three wide receiver scenario, when Keenan Allen is on the board, Keenan Allen was dominant. Dominant until his kidney was lacerated, or whatever happened to his internal body.
Andy Holloway
So the piece, you got an internal body now, you don't have an internal body and an external body.
Jason Moore
Yeah, all my body's on the inside.
Andy Holloway
I have one body. I have one total. One total body.
Unknown
Yeah. Well, I was just. I was going nano, okay, nano with my body. And the pick here to me is between Sammy Watkins and Keenan Allen. However, when I say that, that's not actually true because the pick for me is Keenan Allen.
Andy Holloway
So no fear, him coming back. He was on it.
Unknown
I am like a 1990s T shirt.
Andy Holloway
I'm with you, by the way.
Unknown
No fear.
Andy Holloway
I'm with you. Listen to this. Eight games with Keenan Allen, the Chargers offense was number one in the NFL with 423.3 yards a game. Eight games without 24th in the league. Keenan Allen is young. He's hyper. Targeted by Philip Rivers. I'm about Keenan Allen here too. So I think we're taking Keenan Allen. Unless you. Unless the champ can make a compelling argument.
Jason Moore
You know, I. If this was my pick, I would probably go Watkins over Allen because of injury. But I don't have any problem going Allen over Watkins. They're both so similar.
Unknown
Because of injury.
Jason Moore
Because of Keenan Allen coming off of injury.
Unknown
Watkins was like a walking injury.
Jason Moore
No, no, no. Right. I'm just saying, coming off of. Anytime that you're. You miss half a season and you've got to come back. There's questions and rust and changes in the offense.
Unknown
All right.
Jason Moore
All of those things that we haven't seen for half a year. I would just lean Watkins where. What we saw the last half of the year was Keenan Allen injured and Sammy Watkins going ham and being the third best wide receiver of the year. So I go Watkins, but here we can go Allen.
Andy Holloway
We're sitting here in the fifth round, 10th pick. We have Gurley, Lamar Miller, AJ Green, and Keenan Allen. Push comes to shove, time is approaching. That being said, let me give you some fourth round picks. Edelman, Cobb, Benjamin Watkins, Hilton Graham, Jimmy Graham in the fourth. Wow. Emmanuel Sanders, Martinez, Brian Brady, the.
Unknown
Andre Johnson was the funny one.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Okay, so Andre Johnson got drafted here. All right.
Unknown
Jeremy is still being built.
Andy Holloway
Jeremy Lake for Jordan Reed, Jordan Matthews. You got as many Jordans as possible. You got Peyton in the fifth, Yelden, Landry, Tate and Olson. So we're sitting here and Latavius stinking Murray is available. This is a. This is the time when you say back of the fifth round, 12 team league, starting running back for the Raiders. You need to fill your wide receiver and tight end. But how do you not take Latavius Murray?
Jason Moore
Well, I think you can't ever pigeonhole yourself into I like this guy and he's available because you have to always compare that to what else is available. So what wide receivers are available?
Andy Holloway
Because I know Jeremy Macklin, not just wide receivers. Dion Lewis is available, right? Jeremy Macklin, Eric Decker, Michael Floyd, Doug Baldwin. So Baldwin, who you know, you also have a hot contestant.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I want to say this real quick because I'll forget when just a second ago when I shouted ah. That was because the pick right before us was Greg Olson. And in the fifth round. The fifth round is where I like to look, if there is any leftovers of the top tier tight ends, you know, if you can get the Jordan Reed, Greg Olson that, that those guys.
Unknown
In is ifrt in that sandwich.
Jason Moore
If it is not in that sandwich for me.
Unknown
Bad meat.
Jason Moore
Yeah, just not. Not. There he is.
Andy Holloway
Do you see the face he's making in this picture too? That's what he says to your bad meat.
Unknown
So he's. He is like a baloney to. Against the pastrami that is at the top.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Unknown
Tyler Baloney. I've heard.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Andy Holloway
So getting back to his 13 touchdowns. Are very upset at you right now. So Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers, Luck and Brady are the only quarterbacks off the board. Just for the record. Russell Wilson still there. Breeze, Bortles, Palmer, Roethlisberger. Not that I'm considering a quarterback here because I'm not. If, if I would take. I would take Latavius Murray here. That's who I would take. I would forego the third wide receiver spot and I would actually select Latavius Murray myself. I feel like there is risk with Lamar Miller. I think we know there is. I think there is less with Gurley. But I would take. Personally, I'd take Latavius Murray and strengthen the depth of my running back position in a standard league. That would be my selection. But I am, I am all ears. I am one third of this voting party.
Unknown
So if we're going to take a running back here, for me it would be Dion Lewis over Latavius Murray. However, the data is still early and this is when you can kind of take advantage of the system because he is not unsuspended yet. And his name is Josh Gordon and he is an elite level wide receiver to me.
Andy Holloway
So you take him right here.
Unknown
I would take him right here. I would not. I would not play the dance anymore. The risk of somebody else noticing that he's on the board.
Andy Holloway
You don't want to wait for him to come around in the sixth, are we.
Unknown
I'm fine like if you guys want to do that. But just I want to highlight.
Andy Holloway
Josh Gordon would be a great pick here.
Jason Moore
Josh Gordon would be a great pick. I agree. Every time you draft, you play that dance of I want to get the most value I can. Now the one thing I would say is that we are. We're near our own turn. So there's not that many picks between us.
Unknown
Yeah.
Jason Moore
That being said, if.
Andy Holloway
So if you're fine with Lewis and Murray. That's what I was going to say now.
Jason Moore
Exactly. You. You spoke my brain.
Andy Holloway
Yes, I spoke Gordon because we got.
Jason Moore
Two running backs we still like for depth. And if both of those guys go, we're, we're still okay because there's only two.
Andy Holloway
That's the logic behind those type of turn picks. We have, you know, multiple options of running back. You like we might lose them both. Yeah.
Unknown
And this, this, that speaks to tiering. You want to tier your players where you have them scoring in a similar range so that you don't really mind necessarily getting the top or the bottom of that tier. And to push your value, you want to get the last remaining player of that tier.
Andy Holloway
All right, So I am fine moving forward with Gordon and rolling the dice. We have our running back spots filled so we have some flexibility. I'll take Josh Gordon. After Gordon went Murray Wilson, Ivory and Floyd. That leaves Dion Lewis on the board.
Unknown
Interesting.
Andy Holloway
And I mean, when you look at AJ Green, Keenan Allen and Josh Gordon as your wide receiver core in a 12 team league, that's pretty good. It's amazing what Gordon's value late does to your receiver core in a draft like this. With Gurley and Miller, I do think we need to stabilize the running back core. Miller has had an up and down. We don't know where he's landing. So I would be really, really strongly recommending running back here.
Jason Moore
Yeah, well, Dion Lewis fell to us. It was kind of part of the draft strategy of our last pick. So I say we continue with that strategy. Nobody on the board makes me.
Andy Holloway
All right. Arian Foster it is. And I've selected Arian Foster. No, I have not. Dion Lewis is who I took. I'm sure I'll be taking Arian Foster somehow later on this summer. All right. Jeremy Macklin went right after him. Kelsey off the board in the six. Could be a value there.
Unknown
That's not bad.
Andy Holloway
I think it's a good pick you got. Ifert went two picks after Kelsey. Surprised?
Unknown
No, no, not at all. I am. I'm surprised that there are a lot.
Andy Holloway
Of people that are going to listen to us and say, why in the world are you guys disrespecting Tyler Iford? He dominated. He won me a championship last year. He dominated. Why no Gronk like respect the Rock? Like, why no. Why no third round consideration for a guy like that?
Unknown
There's not Gronk respect simply because the yardage was so very low. He was a touchdown dependent guy. Yeah, he sure got you.
Andy Holloway
That's a touchdown.
Unknown
He got you a lot of them.
Andy Holloway
Dependent position.
Unknown
It is. However, when you have, when you're talking like a Guy like Gronk. Gronk is not dependent on a touchdown. He can still get you 7 to 10 fantasy points per week without scoring. I put Jordan Reed and Greg Olson.
Andy Holloway
That's why he went first. That's why he went in the first.
Unknown
Right.
Andy Holloway
You put them. You put Reed and Olson in that category.
Jason Moore
Reed and Olson both get a tight target score.
Andy Holloway
Even in a standard league, you don't bump Eifer up.
Unknown
No. The argument I'll make which is counter to what I'm talking about is Jason brought up the point of Marvin Jones leaving. Maybe Tyler Ifer gets even more involved between the 20s and isn't just the end zone guy we talked about.
Andy Holloway
He lost three games off of those stat lines last year too.
Unknown
But we wouldn't want to be from.
Andy Holloway
No, from injury.
Unknown
Right.
Andy Holloway
He missed three games. I'm just saying was three.
Unknown
Including the one where he. He had the goose egg.
Andy Holloway
Oh, his live action goose egg.
Unknown
Yeah, he was on the field.
Andy Holloway
No, it doesn't include that. So too which he played 13 games and one of them was a goose.
Unknown
So if he actually gets more involved in the offense of bumping up that yardage while maintaining his high touchdown possibility, then Ifert will be fantastic. We're not saying if it's bad, you.
Jason Moore
Wouldn'T necessarily want to pair him with AJ Green. Not that that's the end of the world, but we've got him on our team. So that. That's another reason.
Andy Holloway
Well, yeah. And he went in the sixth here in the middle you got Breeze going off the board in this round. You have Steve Smith going off the board. Coming back for Baltimore, Delaney, Walker in the seventh, Devonte Adams.
Unknown
Walker there is interesting.
Andy Holloway
I think Walker in the seventh could be a great value. But I think there are other guys like that too sitting there. Gary Barnage is available. He went about.
Unknown
You know, Gary Barnage is going to get zero respect for what he did. I know, I completely understand. It was one year and it was very late in his career. It seems like a total outlier however for me where he's going to be drafted.
Andy Holloway
You know, Gary Barnard had 80 catches in a thousand yards, ninth, tenth round.
Unknown
Or so for Gary Barnage. I will absolutely take that risk because there is basically no risk.
Andy Holloway
We'll see what happens when it comes back around. Ertz went in this round.
Jason Moore
One of the things I would say on the tight end position and speaking to what you said a minute ago about tears is to me there are only two guys left on the board that I actually like at tight end in Julius Thomas and Gary Barnett.
Andy Holloway
Yep.
Jason Moore
After those two, the, the. The field is. I don't care. Give me any one of them with my third to last.
Andy Holloway
You'll figure it out on waivers and.
Jason Moore
I'll figure it out. But that does mean I may be considering not so much with this one because we're close to the turn, but with those two guys, I think eighth round, probably get one of those guys with the next pick. So this is where I would actually look for a middle of the middle of the draft tight end, which was not my strategy last year at all because it's the end of a tier. So just pointing that out.
Andy Holloway
So we're sitting here with the eight, I'm sorry, the 10th pick of the seventh round. Our roster is Todd Gurley, Lamar Miller, AJ Green, Keenan Allen, Josh Gordon and Dion Lewis. Now we're sitting here and we're looking at some flyer, you know, upside flyers at running back, guys like, you know, Jay Ajayi. If Miller were drafting him and he's somewhere else. You got Melvin Gordon sitting here in the seventh round. You got Doug Baldwin, last year's cinderella story in the second half of the season. Larry Fitzgerald, Devonte Parker. You got some starters potentially in Frank Gore and Matt Jones. And I think there are a lot of decisions to be made right here that you know and then you could go barnage.
Jason Moore
Yeah. You know, but between running back and wide receiver, you're both looking at upside potential depth for your bench. That that means that the tiebreaker, since they're about the same and what's on the. What's on the market, the tiebreaker to me is the fact that there are three wide receiver positions and we already have three running backs for two. So to me, I'm looking wide receiver here. I still think when you go high upside guy, Doug Baldwin is in that he's not. He's not as sexy as a Tyler Lockett or some of those other guys. The Devonte Parker, because he's older, we had seen what he did for years. But you got to keep in mind, if he's on our bench and it turns out, oh, he is as involved as what he showed when he was the number one wide receiver in the league from week 10 to 17. That would be my pick. I'm totally fine with a different wide receiver as well.
Unknown
And I'm completely good going Doug Baldwin here. We've filled out our starting roster of wide receivers. I don't feel like I'm taking Baldwin at a. At early. At an early range here where I'm locked in. I have to figure it out quickly if he. If he busts. So I love Baldwin here in this area.
Andy Holloway
So. So I'm going to bring up a name here. We took Baldwin and then Palmer and Barnage went, and then Gordon and Javorius Allen, which are all pretty good picks there. Maybe, you know, Palmer's still value probably at the eighth round there. Yeah, probably. Let me, let me say this. A name that has not been drafted or mentioned and is now, you know, kind of the guy there along with Theo Riddick. But Amir Abdullah represents some upside in year number two. If he can get fumbles under control. We're in the eighth round. We just took our fourth wide receiver. We got three running backs, four wide receivers, no tight end, no quarterback and a few bench spots left. And we're gonna have to draft a little bit quicker here towards the back end of the draft. Just giving you guys a heads up. But who are you considering? Somebody like Abdullah here or. There are just too many names on the board that you like above him.
Unknown
No, Abdullah is in consideration for me, the other guy who is in full consideration for me because I, this is a. I start doing the value dance. We're getting to the area where other people might pick up on his scent because we're later in the draft. That is Devonte, Mr. Rodney Dangerfield of fantasy football because he is a small, small man.
Jason Moore
I get no respect.
Unknown
Danny Woodhead, RB1. The last two healthy years for Danny Woodhead, he has been an RB1 in standard and PPR formats. I want him on all of my teams.
Andy Holloway
Wow. I can't do it.
Unknown
And that's exactly why I want him on my teams.
Andy Holloway
I just.
Unknown
This is the area where other people will start doing the.
Andy Holloway
I do it because I think, okay, maybe Melvin Gordon. This is the year he just gets it together. This year number two, he's finally going.
Unknown
To, you know, even if he gets it together, the amount of the workload that he received.
Andy Holloway
But you're choosing, just so you know, you're choosing Woodhead over a potential starter in Amir Abdullah over a potential starter in Jay Ajayi. Matt Jones, Frank Gore, Carlos Williams. With the upside of Williams there, four set could be back and starting Duke Johnson. I can't see it. I can't see it now.
Unknown
Because you don't like running back ones. I fully understand running back ones.
Jason Moore
All right?
Andy Holloway
I hate them.
Unknown
I'm not saying I have to take him here, but this is. This is Danny Woodhead territory where you.
Jason Moore
Where.
Unknown
I'm not going to let him go.
Jason Moore
When I look at the running backs and the wide receivers, you named a bunch of running backs there that I liked all of them. Frank Gore for, you know, is a great pick this late. He was also an RB one. I like that. I like a lot of the value at wide receivers. So this is where I say, do you maybe take that Julius Thomas, who's kind of the last guy that I like at tight end and then still for the next. Then we got round after round.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I do.
Jason Moore
Searching for those. I do.
Andy Holloway
I dropped Julius Thomas over Woodhead.
Unknown
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
His upside in that offense, the way he performed in the last four games of the year. I actually do take the shot at Thomas here in the eighth round over Woodhead and where he falls in my running back kind of, you know, it's a. Because if we RB league and you got Lewis still there and I want.
Jason Moore
It clear for the listeners who are trying to get better, if we don't take Julius Thomas here, which I'm also fine doing, then I don't draft a tight end for until the third to last pick because the rest are all.
Unknown
Just the same for me at this point. I'm not as big as a Julius Thomas guys, as you guys, as you two. I would personally wait, keep waiting. If he's there later, I'll take him up. If he's not, I'm perfectly happy. Taking an Antonio Gates, who I expect to be resigned taking a Ben Watson who had a tremendous value down in New Orleans even though he's a bit of an older guy. I'm fine waiting, but if I'm going to get outvoted here, then we'll go with Julius Thomas.
Andy Holloway
You're going to get outvoted, but we're going to give you the next pick off the board so you get final say on the next pick. So I will take Julius Thomas. We're going to float into the ninth round now. Names off the board. Arian Foster, Justin for set. Alfred Morris. Frank Gore, Matt Jones. A lot of the running back names. Ajayi Amir Abdullah.
Jason Moore
Pretty confident. I know your pick.
Andy Holloway
And and so we come all the way back around to the 10th pick of the ninth round and look who's sitting there grinning.
Unknown
It is Mr. Running Back Duke of.
Andy Holloway
Elves himself, Danny Woodhead. So I think we're going to go.
Unknown
In a good nickname for Danny Woodhead, the Duke of Elves. Of Elves.
Andy Holloway
We'll just have to make sure people understand we got that from someone else. And so we took Danny Woodhead. So everybody's dreams came true. There he went as he said, my dreams at least. Look, you said he doesn't get respect. And look, you got him at the 9th, the 10th pick of the 9th round. After him went Crowell. I think a great value in the ninth round. Rashad Jennings, a value in the ninth round. Duke Johnson and John Brown. This is the time when we parse potential. Right. It's so. It's so hard to. Let's guarantee it. But now we're sitting here and Larry Fitzgerald's on the board with a third pick in the 10th round. That's a possibility off of a huge year. That's a for Larry Fitzgerald.
Jason Moore
What I want to know at this point, because we're in the 10th round, I just want to know what quarterbacks are on the board. This is where I start looking for tier breakoffs.
Unknown
Yeah.
Jason Moore
And see, are there six guys I like? Is there two guys I like?
Unknown
I'm perfectly fine with that. Because a reminder, the streaming quarterback strategy is if your late round quarterback is, does not turn into a week to week starter like we had last year. I drafted Carson Palmer everywhere and it was fantastic. So I'm okay in this 10th round. Starting to peak.
Jason Moore
Yeah, here's the peak. Here's the peak. We've got Blake Bortles, who's a great value here for where he normally goes. But there's also still other really good guys. Eli Manning, that's two good guys. Andy Dalton, my personal favorite. I would love to pair him with our AJ Green. Ooh, double stuff. Philip Rivers is good. Andy has been high on Marcus Mariota coming in. There's also guys even later, Tyrod Taylor and Mario Cousin Mariota. Tyrod Taylor, Kirk Cousins. I feel like there's no reason to take a quarterback here, but for me, because of our roster, I'm looking at Andy Dalton as a guy I hope to get in a couple rounds. If he's there, that's, that's fair.
Andy Holloway
109 catches, 1,215 yards, nine touchdowns is on the board right now. Is that Mr. Larry Fitzgerald, Larry Fitzgerald's line.
Jason Moore
That sounds good.
Unknown
Yeah. And to me you have Andy, both Andy Dalton, Philip Rivers, guys who were sat at number one for a while or I don't know if maybe Rivers didn't make it all the way to number one, but both of those guys were at the top of the quarterback rankings for some time and they're both sitting there for us in the 10th round. So I want to go. Larry Fitzgerald here.
Jason Moore
Yep. All right.
Andy Holloway
Larry Fitzgerald is the pick. That leaves us two bench Spots a quarterback and our D and kicker coming back around to the 11th round. Charles Sims just went before us. Bilal Powell, Matt Ryan.
Unknown
I like that Sims pick.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I do too. In the almost the 12th round. My goodness. In a 12 team. So quarterbacks on the board. You know, Eli Manning, Andy Dalton, Philip Rivers, Mariota.
Jason Moore
With just those four cousins with just those four or five. I'm fine waiting another round.
Andy Holloway
One more round.
Jason Moore
Yep.
Andy Holloway
So in that case, let's take a.
Jason Moore
Look at wide receivers.
Unknown
We are going.
Andy Holloway
Tyler Lockett on the board. Kevin White.
Jason Moore
Dude.
Andy Holloway
Theo Riddick, if you like Danny Woodhead. How do you not like Theo Riddick, Mike?
Unknown
Hey, you're speaking my language. I like Theo Riddick a lot.
Jason Moore
I feel like our running backs are done personally really well just because we're in a three wide receiver and we running back, no flex. So we only need two running backs. We got four. That's very fair.
Andy Holloway
So lock it. Or Kevin White. Lockett or Kevin White. Let's make a pick here. We got to go quicker.
Unknown
So we already have Baldwin.
Andy Holloway
Give me Kevin White.
Unknown
I'm going to. I'm going to fly.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, give me Kevin White. We already have Baldwin. You know, do you believe that Seattle is going to be a high flying two relevant wide receiver team the entire day of 2016?
Unknown
Possible.
Jason Moore
It's very possible.
Unknown
I think.
Jason Moore
I don't think they are. But here's Kevin White.
Andy Holloway
Or wait. Or take a Dalton now if you like Dalton or Eli Manning and wait, you make.
Jason Moore
You know, I would say that it's very tempting to just grab Dalton and pair him with AJ Green because there are multiple guys we like that. I'm fine with either one of Mike.
Andy Holloway
You make the pick.
Unknown
Honestly, I would take Andy Dalton.
Jason Moore
Let's do it.
Andy Holloway
All right, so Andy Dalton is our pick. The 10th pick of the 11th round. You get a guy who is the number one quarterback for half the year.
Jason Moore
And then right after us went two quarterbacks.
Unknown
So it made the right choice. And I will not lie, the allure of the double stuff going are going to our elite level. Wide receiver one. It just makes.
Andy Holloway
That's fun.
Jason Moore
It's.
Unknown
It's fun.
Andy Holloway
All right, so we'll take Kevin White here coming back. Eli Manning, Philip Rivers and D. Well went. So we'll take Kevin White.
Jason Moore
And if you don't remember who Kevin White is because he didn't play snap. He was essentially. People were arguing coming into last year. Is it Amari Cooper? Is it Kevin White who's the better wide receiver? People thought like Amari Cooper. Was more ready, but Kevin White was the more talented guy.
Unknown
Yeah. More upside and to be clear, like Kevin White, he's not going to be there that late. We're still very early in the process, so you got to take it with, with the salty grains.
Andy Holloway
All right. The final pick in our draft. I'm going to leave the D and kicker off here, but we'll, we'll draft them. We'll post the whole draft on the website, the fantasy footballers.com. you can review it, check it out, tell us where we made ridiculously bad picks. Leave those in the comments. That's fine. Or what?
Unknown
Leave them to yourself.
Andy Holloway
Leave them to yourself. So this is the debate I want to have with you on the last pick of the draft. And it is a debate of would you take a chance on a second quarterback with high upside because you want to put that guy in your roster? Maybe it's the Cam Newton. I'm a big Mariota fan. That's why I bring it up. You still got Theo Riddick on the board. David Cobb in Tennessee's on the board. You have, you know, Shane Vereen, you have not a lot of options at running back, but you got a lot of, you know, Prashad Perryman. Do you fly again with him coming back on Baltimore? Travis Benjamin's on the board. Mike Sky, Ruben Randall.
Unknown
Yeah, Rubes.
Andy Holloway
You know, at that point, I think, you know, it's Slim Pickens. So is it Mariota or is it. Is it one of those wide receiver options?
Unknown
To me, my, my last pick almost every single time is I'm going to try and fly and find a starting running back. So at this point, it would be Theo. It would be, well, Theo. I don't know if Theo will never.
Jason Moore
Be a starter Zinner, especially in his standard league.
Unknown
It would be Cobb for me. I know, I know that the probability is very low, but it's my last pick. He's going to be my first cut for the. For waivers after week one.
Andy Holloway
That's exactly why I wouldn't take another quarterback, because you won't have time to see if that quarterback is valuable to you. You'll have to cut because you always want to cut that first guy or somebody early.
Jason Moore
And so if my first quarterback was Marcus Mariota, I might consider taking a second. But with Andy Dalton there, you know what you've got. You don't need to grab a second quarterback.
Andy Holloway
So we will take David Cobb then. I like the idea of flying there. Oh, did you not want me to?
Jason Moore
Oh, my gosh, that's so gross to me. But that's all right.
Andy Holloway
Youtubers cut him after year one.
Jason Moore
I'll cut him after year one.
Andy Holloway
We post the draft week one, I mean, after we post the draft. So we are, we are done with this mock draft. I want to give you guys our roster. Okay? At quarterback, the Red Rocket himself, Andy Dalton. We've got running backs of Gurley, Lamar Miller and then depth with Dion Lewis, Danny Woodhead and David Cobb. The three D's, as we call them. The wide receivers, A.J. green, Keenan Allen, Josh Gordon, Doug Baldwin, Larry Fitzgerald and Kevin White.
Unknown
Those wide receivers.
Andy Holloway
That is delicious. And then we've got Julius Thomas at tight end, which I like the. I like the upside with consistency there from Thomas. I'm pretty, pretty happy with him where we got him. And then we've got. I drafted our defense, the Panthers and our kicker, Santos from Kansas City. So that'll work. We will post this. As I said, I do want to take just a couple seconds, get into the mailbag, answer a couple listener questions. If you have a question for us, you can go to the website, click on the submit a question button. Jason Moore
Mailbag.
Andy Holloway
All right, this is a supporter question coming in from Jeff in Akron, Ohio. Says, hey, guys, I'm in a full PPR league. Assuming Lamar Miller is gone, would you keep Jay ajayi for a 9th round pick with a 7th round option in 2017 or Jeremy Hill for a 7th with no option for 2017? Thank you very much. Please answer this on this show, which we're gonna do right now. So. Oh, he also has a hashtag Foot clan title. Oh, congratulations. So he took congrats on your title last year.
Jason Moore
My name is Jeff.
Andy Holloway
So if Lamar Miller's gone, I would do the Ajayi keep if Lamar Miller. Because he said assuming Lamar Miller's gone, he's asking that question, I would actually do the Ajayiki.
Jason Moore
I think that that also comes with the assumption then that they don't draft a high running back pick. So if no other, you know, guys.
Unknown
Are scared of Jonas Gray new.
Jason Moore
Yeah, and I agree with you, Andy. I would as well. If if Lamar Miller's gone and they don't spend a high draft pick on a running back, then a jai is capable of being a very good back and you get him for two years and you get him At a better value. Keep that seventh round pick.
Unknown
Yeah, I completely agree. If they don't bring Miller back, that's a strong endorsement for Ajayi for at least a few years. We know he fell in the draft over health concerns over his knee for long term but it sounded at least like he would still have, you know, four or five years before everything went completely south. And for a ninth over over Hill in the seventh, I think the upside is greater for a jai where Jeremy Hill we've seen he'll probably be hamstrung by Geo as long if Geo can play like he did last year.
Andy Holloway
All right, this next question comes in from Darren in the Great White north. He says A.J. green, Demarius Thomas, Keenan Allen, Kevin Benjamin, Julian Edelman.
Unknown
Kevin.
Andy Holloway
What did I say? Kevin Kevin Kelvin Benjamin, Julian Edelman and Jeremy Langford. Pick three of those guys.
Jason Moore
Those are some wide receivers. He's got quite the core here. Wow. It would be really helpful. It'd be really helpful for this group to know whether or not it's a PPR league or not. Keenan Allen and Julian Edelman and PPRs are must keeps for sure. I'm going to hold on to Jeremy Langford here just because it's a three keeper league and I think you're going to want one of the running backs. He's worth, you know, a third round pick. So I would keep him. If it is ppr, I would have to have Julian Edelman in there and go AJ Green.
Unknown
I'm going to go AJ Green, Keenan.
Andy Holloway
Allen, Julian Edelman and let me see here.
Unknown
I'm also okay if you want to take the risks of Langford over.
Andy Holloway
I would go Green, Allen, Langford myself.
Unknown
Yeah, I can, I can bump back.
Andy Holloway
That, back that thing up. All right, that is it for today's episode. Hope you enjoyed our again unconscionably early mock draft. It's very fun to do. You saw some things that were in there that'll never be in there like Andre Johnson getting drafted.
Jason Moore
Post your own. Do it. Do a mock and post it fantasy.
Andy Holloway
And we'll post it on the website.
Unknown
And that's fantasydraft wizard.com youm can mock in minutes. It's. It's fantastic. In the. Over the course of the offseason it'll update. It'll get better pretty quick.
Andy Holloway

Early Mock Draft Simulation
The heart of the episode centers on an early mock draft, conducted using fantasydraftwizard.com. The hosts draft from the 10th position in a 12-team, standard scoring league, providing listeners with insights into their drafting philosophies.
First Round Picks: Running Back vs. Wide Receiver
The hosts debate the merits of early running backs like Todd Gurley versus elite wide receivers such as DeAndre Hopkins, Dez Bryant, and Alan Robinson.
Jason Moore [18:02]: "I would clearly vote for Todd Gurley here."
Andy Holloway [22:03]: "Between the wide receivers, there's plenty that I like."
Ultimately, they select Todd Gurley and A.J. Green as their first two picks, prioritizing immediate high-impact players.
Mid to Late Rounds: Building Depth
As the draft progresses, discussions focus on balancing depth across positions, addressing potential risks (e.g., Josh Gordon’s suspension), and leveraging tiered player rankings to maximize value.
Jason Moore [27:50]: "I think Lamar Miller is an elite running back talent who is looking for a team that's going to make him the bell cow."
The hosts make strategic choices, such as drafting Josh Gordon for his upside and Dion Lewis for depth, while also considering wide receivers like Keenan Allen and Kevin White.
Final Roster Summary
By the end of the mock draft, the Fantasy Footballers have assembled a balanced roster with strong running backs, versatile wide receivers, a reliable tight end in Julius Thomas, and strategic bench spots for potential breakout players.
Andy Holloway [55:32]: "At quarterback, the Red Rocket himself, Andy Dalton. We've got running backs of Gurley, Lamar Miller and then depth with Dion Lewis, Danny Woodhead and David Cobb."
