Mike Wright
Here we go again. Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast where.
Jason Moore
Mike leads off and Andy is still.
Mike Wright
Am I a check your trunks? And now you. Not your swimming trunks, I mean your car trunks. And he could be in your trunk.
Jason Moore
I have not told anyone which trunk I have put him in, but I'm not letting him out quite yet.
Mike Wright
Andy is down again with the sickness, but we welcome you into the show anyways.
Jason Moore
He wanted to do the show, but it's very difficult. This show is very difficult to do without a voice.
Mike Wright
We made a coach's decision. The player wanted in. He insisted he was healthy sitting down and we heard him speak and it was.
Jason Moore
Did you hear yesterday's show? It was incredible, dude. You know, sometimes a team gets, you know, addition by subtraction, right? Boom. And he's here. Andy's smiling, he's waving.
Mike Wright
Welcome to the show. I am Mike Wright. You can follow me Twitter @FF Hitman. I'm joined by my esteemed colleague, your.
Jason Moore
Esteemed, verified, verified colleague, Jason Moore.
Mike Wright
You follow him@jason ffl. And if you want to follow the. The charades of the missing man at Andy Holloway. And of course, the show is at the Ffballers. It's Thursday. That means we're breaking down some matchups. That means we're giving you a little boom boom in your life.
Jason Moore
Oh, it's a good one. Your boom boom. It's a lot. You got a good one for us Loaded. My boom boom kicker of the week is a virtual guarantee.
Mike Wright
Check out the fantasy footballers.com as always, where there's articles going up daily quarterback one primer. The matchups will be there, our starts of the week, which will also be involved in the show. But I'm going to start it with this quick question of the day. I thought we had talked about this yesterday, but apparently I skipped. I skipped a few things yesterday as the list. Usually the host, the listeners tweeted at us. They say, I think I'm somehow I missed the Thursday night preview.
Jason Moore
Everyone missed it. Everyone couldn't find it.
Mike Wright
There was a weird lapse in the recording that just cut all of that out.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Nothing else. Yeah, that's what happened. But we'll cover that today, give you a little shorter notice.
Mike Wright
But anyway, so the quick question. Apparently the Ravens have suggested a rule change because the Ravens have player Safety in their hearts on the kickoffs. They have said if you are able to kick it through the uprights on the kickoff, you get a bonus point.
Jason Moore
Wow.
Mike Wright
This coming from the. I believe the only team in the league that has a kicker who could do it with a consistent basis, Justin Tucker, who is, who is the all time boom boom kicker of, of the year as of right now. Tucker said he could do it 20% of the time.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I mean you've got him and maybe Brandon McManus that can, that can boot that out. Especially with the cold weather up in Denver. That's a weird rule. It's ridiculous.
Mike Wright
It's ridiculous.
Jason Moore
If it came into effect, the game would be more fun. I'm going to say that I actually believe it is ridiculous. Thinking about it, my initial reaction is you can't, you can't do that. That just, that changes the game a little bit too much. However, if it were done, if they said no, whatever, you know, we don't need to be loyalists to the past. We're going to put it in. Watching the game would be more fun. Every kickoff I would actually care and watch to see if they can score a point.
Mike Wright
You could score nine points in a possession.
Jason Moore
Exactly. So now you've got a long.
Mike Wright
So a nine point game, that's, that's a one score game.
Jason Moore
Yeah, it always adds to parody and adds to things like that because you know, you've got games closer in hand. And just think about watching the Red Zone channel. They never show kickoffs, they switch away. But oh, now that's a scoring opportunity.
Mike Wright
It I said to Jason, the first thing I thought of was this is Rock and Jock, the old MTV show.
Jason Moore
So great. Yeah.
Mike Wright
Because it was ridiculous.
Jason Moore
I want that 30 point shot.
Mike Wright
So I think it's silly. Go ahead and you can sound off to us at the FF Ballers. Let us know what you think about it. Let's move on to the news.
Jason Moore
News and notes from around the league.
Mike Wright
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer will undergo emergency eye surgery today. He's questionable for tonight's game. That's interesting to call a coach questionable. He's actually had a few surgeries on his eye so we will see if he is, if he is able to be there at the game, if that affects the game at all.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I mean I feel like I would mark him D. I would say doubtful tonight. We don't have any more news on this and I do think that it actually does affect the game. It affects the game a little bit less with Zimmer because He is a defensive coach. He's not out there calling offensive plays. So for fantasy purposes, we've seen sometimes when you have an offensive coach and they miss the game, that offense doesn't run the same. They don't click. They don't have that mastermind calling the plays. That's not Zimmer. So I don't think this affects the game too, too much. You know what I do think, though? A little. Little preview hint. I think the defense, without Zimmer, they're gonna. They're gonna give up a little bit more yards, but they'll lock down near that goal line. They'll lock down when it. When they get Ben, don't break. Bend, don't break. Which might just be good for a boom boom. Oh. Oh, I see what you.
Mike Wright
I had no idea where that ship was going.
Jason Moore
Yeah. All right. Andrew Luck is still in the concussion concussion protocol, but he's a full participant in Wednesday's practice. We saw this last week with Mark Ingram. When they're back at practice and they're able to practice in full, he's. He's going to be able to be there for the Monday night game. I have zero worries of him being able to play.
Mike Wright
As do I. Tread. Speaking of quarterbacks, Trevor Simeon is in a walking boot. He missed practice yesterday. He's considered day to day.
Jason Moore
Yeah, but as coops, I mentioned to you yesterday, I said, you know, I was like, oh, Trevor Simeon missed practice because that was. It's rare for a quarterback to miss practice. It's very common for other positions. And you go, oh, the shoulder. And it was like, no, it's a foot. Nobody knew he had a foot problem. Look, I think Trevor Simeon, he had a good week last week. That is not going to be the norm going forward in my opinion. You add in this foot scares me a little bit for, say, a demarious Thomas. I've lowered him a little bit in my rankings. Not necessarily because of the foot, just the whole kit and caboodle there of how I expect Denver's offense to be this week. But we'll keep monitoring Trevor Simeon. I don't think much changes if it goes to Lynch.
Mike Wright
Sammy Watkins felt soreness in his foot and he did not practice on Wednesday.
Jason Moore
Come on, man. I mean, this is another week. You have to hold him. I don't. I don't think I've gotten a lot of questions where it's, you know, here's five guys. I need three of them, and Sammy Watkins is in that group, and he's almost always One of the guys I'm choosing to sit this week, I think.
Mike Wright
That it's okay he missed Wednesday. That's. It's pretty par for the course for guys dealing with injury. Julian Adelman had, I believe has not practiced a single Wednesday this season. He's still playing. So I, I still expect Sammy Watkins to play. Shane Vereen returned to practice yesterday. Really only matters in the deepest of leagues. If you are in those 16, 18 team leagues and you're just scrounging for a running back who might come back on the ir.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I was going to say he's not off the ir.
Mike Wright
Not yet.
Jason Moore
It doesn't affect anything currently. I guess in a few weeks maybe it could ding Rashad Jennings a little. Very, very inconsequential, I think.
Mike Wright
Then ESPN Falcons reported Vaughn McClure. He was on Next level. That's Mike Clay's new radio show. I actually heard this interview and he was talking about Tevin Coleman and that the coaching staff says his step is back. They think Tevin Coleman is ready to go. I thought this was an important note because they take on the Chiefs. Think back to the Falcons going up against the Denver Broncos where everyone was very concerned. You thought, wow, this is a big, a spectacular defense. How can the Falcons possibly beat the Broncos? You know what they did? They threw to their running back.
Jason Moore
Yeah, the passing game.
Mike Wright
So if Tevin Coleman has that burst back, I mean the guy is lightning fast and you have devontae Freeman, we could see a similar situation.
Jason Moore
Does that hurt Devonta Freeman's fantasy outlook for you?
Mike Wright
It maybe that humongous ceiling. But devontae Freeman was still spectacular in those games. Him and Coleman were weekly starts.
Jason Moore
They both were able to be weekly starts. I have, I have moved Freeman down a little bit to, I mean down to number 12. So he's still an RB1, but I don't see him having the same exact type of upside that he had when he's the clear guy now that Tevin Coleman is back. So it's worth keeping in mind and.
Mike Wright
We'Ll have our in and out section tomorrow. But just keeping you up to date, some guys that missed practice, Brady, who he that that knee. We have the Patriots giving so much misinformation and you had Tom Brady missing practice. You thought, well there's, there's nothing here. But if you watch Brady play, he was, there was clearly something wrong with.
Jason Moore
His knee and he's missing practice again.
Mike Wright
He'll play. Gronk missed practice. He's questionable. Pay attention to him. Reed is still Dealing with the shoulder. He'll deal with that for the rest of the season. The last update I read is he had about 30% range of motion. I expect him to miss. And people are saying, well, okay, Vernon Davis, should I throw him in here? I think Vernon Davis is a great handcuff in general for Jordan Reed, but not this week. The Cardinals are allowing right around 25 yards per game to the tight end.
Jason Moore
Is it not good for fantasy?
Mike Wright
So I would find a different option. So like I said, we'll get into more of these guys whether or not they're going to play tomorrow. So let's move into.
Jason Moore
Let's.
Mike Wright
Let's talk some, some matchups here.
Jason Moore
Let's do it. Fantasy forecast.
Mike Wright
Thursday Night Football. Here it is. Here it is.
Jason Moore
Foot. Glenn, just in time.
Mike Wright
You got the Cowboys traveling to Minnesota in the dome. This is a 44 point over under and the Cowboys are road favorites by three and a half points. Do not blame the wise guys for making these kinds of decisions. Prescott, Bradford.
Jason Moore
I'll take Prescott. Is that. Was that the question?
Mike Wright
It was more a. Do you even consider streaming Bradford after. After what we watched Captain Kirk do?
Jason Moore
No, I don't think you do. I mean, Bradford has. When you look at the average depth of target and where Bradford is throwing the ball, it. It's like 90 plus percent of his passes don't travel more than 10 yards in the air. He. For fantasy purposes, that's never going to get it done. You look at Captain Kirk, Captain Kirk's, you know, yards per attempt are great. They're up near the higher end in the league. So against this Cowboys defense, I don't like much from the Minnesota Vikings. I personally, if we're talking about the offensive side of the Vikings, Kyle Rudolph can get it done. The Cowboys defense has been pretty good, but they have definitely had some big games against them at the tight end position. So I'd be willing to roll him out, certainly. I know you have some thoughts on.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I'll say. There is a stat here that makes me like Stefan Diggs, that. That's. The Cowboys defense are allowing nearly 28 receptions per game. That's 31st in the league. So a lot of, A lot of catches are happening right. Against the Dallas Cowboys, Stefan Diggs is catching 7.4, sketching a lot of passes since that offense. I'm actually, I'm going to talk because I'm going on a ledge here, a very rickety ledge, very much like a tree limb that could snap at any moment because we think he's Going to play, right? He's expected to play.
Jason Moore
I do expect him to play this week, and I think in a PPR format, certainly in that format, I think he's much safer. You worry that he won't be able to put the yards together with this new west coast offense that they've been running. Now, on the other side of the.
Mike Wright
Ball, are you feeling the Bezels at all against the Vikings?
Jason Moore
You know, I think the Bezels is an okay flex play in pretty much any matchup because, yes, he's used, you know, just like. Just like you see in a lot of games, right. When you go up against a difficult defense, sometimes you need to use guys like the bezels a little bit more for the little stuff that the defense is allowing you to give up again. I always think that Bezels upside is capped. You know, I know he's had a couple big games, but I don't see in this game him having, you know, I can see him having a lot of targets for a few yards, you know, maybe getting a touchdown. So that's why I put him in that flex category for me. Des Bryant, though, is locked and low.
Mike Wright
He looks back.
Jason Moore
He looks back, and he's starting to have a rapport with Dak. And that's the one thing. I mean, you never questioned whether Des Bryant could get it done ever, right, once he was healthy. It's like Dez Bryant is a top 10 talent in the wide receiver, if not top five. But the question was, will Dak go to him? Because they got on the roll without him, and now the answer is yep. Yep. Dax a very good quarterback, and he is looking to the best wide receiver. Go figure.
Mike Wright
Beasley. I just wanted to check this out. Beasley has been.
Jason Moore
How dare you call him Beasley?
Mike Wright
The Bezels has been under 50 yards once. Once this season. So you're talking PPR machine because he's. It's always. It's the shorter passes, Right. You remember that Antonio Brown streak? Everyone loved that five for 50. Because you knew that the baseline of Antonio Brown was so safe.
Jason Moore
Sure. But. But during that. Safe, yeah.
Mike Wright
I'm not comparing him to Antonio Brown.
Jason Moore
You kind of sounded like you were.
Mike Wright
I'm not comparing his ceiling to Antonio Brown.
Jason Moore
I got to sweep you off your feet there.
Mike Wright
Sweep out the sweep. Sweep the leg. Sweep the leg. Does he have anything more from this game?
Jason Moore
Not really. You're going to start, Zeke, you're going to start. I'm completely okay starting Dak here. If you're in a two Quarterback, I think in a one quarterback, you're also okay. He's not going to completely crap your team at. I do think his upside is a little bit limited here, but, you know, I would be willing to start him. Definitely. Des. Definitely.
Mike Wright
Zeke Whitten, I think wins. Okay.
Jason Moore
He's okay.
Mike Wright
He. But that's basically just. Yeah, you're okay.
Jason Moore
Jason wins same as last week, same as next week.
Mike Wright
So just chop this up and we'll insert it into all future Dallas matchups.
Jason Moore
Yeah, there you go.
Mike Wright
He's okay.
Jason Moore
All right.
Mike Wright
Oh, sorry. Go ahead.
Jason Moore
I was just going to say, don't forget as we look at the rest of the matchups, the Browns and the Titans are on by. And also since we're talking Thursday Night Football before we move on and this is time to make the playoffs, do not forget if you've got a guy that you think is, you know, we talk about Bezels, right? He's a flex. He's a flex to me. But he's playing on Thursday Night Football. So if you're going to play him, you move him into your wide receiver slot. Or if you're playing, do not play a quote unquote, flex player today, but put them in your running back or wide receiver so. So that you have flexibility as the week goes on to make more decisions later should injuries happen.
Mike Wright
Always a good reminder. Chiefs take on the Falcons. This is a 49 and a half.
Jason Moore
Point over and that's something you see with the Chiefs.
Mike Wright
That's surprisingly high for the defense like the Chiefs, especially the way that they're playing. Now that Justin Houston is back, I'm taking the under.
Jason Moore
I don't think Justin Houston allows for that kind of, that kind of production. I mean, I will say this. The Falcons went to Denver, who I believe is a better defense and they have a better pass rusher and they, they got it done. But I, over the last few weeks, I think they've slowed a little. They have not the Falcons, I mean, they have not been on fire the way that they were those first five or six games of the season. They're still definitely a top, you know, top six offense in the league. And I think they can get it done against the Chiefs. I'm fine playing Freeman. I told you he was, you know, a top 12 or he was the 12th running back. I'm not, I'm not personally going to throw Tevin Coleman in there until I see it. I realize the interview says he's back, but I, this time of year, week.
Mike Wright
13, I just got you Taking the sure thing.
Jason Moore
I'm not taking the gamble because should he come out and, you know, barely be used and needs to work himself back into game shape, according to the coach, I just feel like I can't take that risk, especially against the Chiefs.
Mike Wright
Yeah, that's very good. That's very fair. Good news. Jeremy Macklin has returned to practice.
Jason Moore
Is it, is it really good news?
Mike Wright
I would say that's more bad news for Tyreek the freak.
Jason Moore
I think it's bad news for Tyreek. I think it's bad news for Zeus. Yeah. Travis Kelsey has been.
Mike Wright
Macklin has been out. Zeus has been getting targets up the wazoos.
Jason Moore
The. Was up the wazoos. I like it. Travis Kelsey right now is my number one ranked tight end for this up.
Mike Wright
I don't blame you.
Jason Moore
And if Jeremy Macklin is back in full, might move him down a slot or two because you have really seen him do what we have always wanted him to do, or rather the offense has done what we, we want them to do, which is pass the ball to the best talent on your team. Yeah, but I do think, look, Jeremy Macklin coming back, he probably helps the Chiefs. He probably hurts fantasy football because I don't think you're starting Jeremy Macklin. I don't think he helps Tyreek Hill. I don't think he helps Zeus.
Mike Wright
I like Spencer Ware a lot in this game. Certainly I got a big thumbs up from Andy on that one. Look, Spencer Ware has been, he's, he's been good. The problem is he's just been good. He's not been giving you these electric games like he did when he started the year. He's not getting touchdowns. I feel like there's.
Jason Moore
That's all it is.
Mike Wright
There's positive regression that has to be coming for Spencer Ware.
Jason Moore
Completely agree. Because if you look at his last few games. Right. In fact, the last two games have almost been identical. He's had 17 carries in both games. He was in the 60 yardage, 69, 64 yards. And that's not like world beating numbers. But then you look in the passing game, he's still been involved. 16 more yards, 32 more yards, a couple of catches. And you've seen those monstrous, you know, those Tevin Coleman type of weeks in the passing game with Spencer Ware. But he's had zero touchdowns in the last several weeks. I don't think that's going to happen. And actually, if there's one guy that is helped by Jeremy Macklin being back, it probably is Spencer Ware in the running game. To give, you know, another passing option that the defense has to look to. I like Spencer Ware a lot in this game. There's very few lineups where I would not be starting him.
Mike Wright
Right. Before we move on to the next matchup, I want to thank today's sponsor, pristine auction. The the best sports memorabilia place in the entire known universe. The hubble telescope has looked for a better one.
Jason Moore
They can't find it.

Mike Wright
Sometimes when you look at a matchup of team A versus Team B, you just initially you get this, whoa. Or you, you know, that initial reaction is sometimes very strong. As I'm reading through the list here, our next matchup, Dolphins, Ravens. I'm immediately inside went.
Jason Moore
You went like, like you're riding a horse. Well, yeah, like, that's just how I felt. You know what? You know what? Here's what we're going to do. Then here's what we're going to do.
Mike Wright
We're going to go back to the.
Jason Moore
Other matchup because, because this, that one's gross. And I think a lot of people have questions on the pass catchers for, for Atlanta. When you come to Mohammed Sanu.
Mike Wright
Okay. Do you want to, you really want to go back?
Jason Moore
I really do because I think people are going to want to know and this game's gross. And Andy's not here to be like, oh, we got to keep it moving. We got to keep this show short. I mean, he's here and he's probably grimacing in the other room, but daddy's a kid. The kids will play. We can do whatever we want. Maybe it'll turn into a megalodon.
Mike Wright
Who knows?
Jason Moore
We can do anything. But seriously, Muhammad Sanu, Taylor Gabriel. Kansas City's. You know, Kansas City is a good defense right there.
Mike Wright
Marcus Peters is very good. Philip Gaines is very bad.
Jason Moore
Yeah. So here's, here's a stat I think you were gone yesterday when I looked this up. What rank do you think that the Kansas City Chiefs are when it comes to giving up fantasy points against wide receivers? Where would you guess they are?
Mike Wright
Ooh, man.
Jason Moore
Without Any lead in or.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I'm going to, I'm going to go 19th.
Jason Moore
Oh, okay. So you think, you know, bottom half a little bit kind of in the middle. They're 32nd. Wait, what? They are the worst in the entire league right now.
Mike Wright
Last week certainly didn't help.
Jason Moore
No, no, it didn't. Now I don't expect them to be. I don't look at them and think this is a defense you can just exploit with wide receivers. But you can't completely discount that as well when you have Julio Jones and you have Mohamed Sanu and you have Taylor Gabriel. So I want to know, Mike, is it Mohamed Sanu or is it Taylor Gabriel this week? Who would you rather play?
Mike Wright
Sanu. It's going to be Muhammad Sanu this week. Just the way that the cornerback versus wide receiver situation matches up, I would feel safer in Sanu. Now Taylor Gabriel can certainly. He's a one play guy. If it all is, it takes us the one for him. But I would personally, if I had to make that choice, I would go with Sanu.
Jason Moore
All right, let's get back to the. So the Dolphins.
Mike Wright
So Dolphins. Ravens. What I was getting into was that was my initial reaction. And then you look over 40 and a half point over, under.
Jason Moore
Yeah, it makes sense then.
Mike Wright
It does. So it just, it, it just, it's very low. Verified all my feelings about not thinking.
Jason Moore
That this is going to be a high scoring game. I, you know, the Ravens defense has been very good. That scares me away from almost actually it scares me away from every pass catching option for the Dolphins over the last. I believe it's since week seven. Jarvis Landry in PPR formats.
Mike Wright
Right.
Jason Moore
He's a PPR machine. Is wide receiver. 50. Whoa, 50 since that time. Basically that's about the time that Jay Ajayi took over as the starting running back.
Mike Wright
And Landry is. We talked about this on yesterday's show. Landry, he falls into that category of I'm still chasing that name of Jarvis Landry where he's got to be good. He's Jarvis Landry's PBR machine. He's 100 plus catches every single year.
Jason Moore
And he's an amazing talent.
Mike Wright
Yeah, he's a great wide receiver, but.
Jason Moore
He'S not getting the targets with this new offense, this Jay Ajayi led offense. And if I'm being honest, I'm not going to chase. This isn't the matchup that I'm going to say, hey look, devonte Parker's been playing good, been playing well and he's going to keep, I think, the rest of season. Devonte Parker is a guy that we should have rostered and he'll play in the right matchups, but I'm not going to chase it with him. I'm not going to chase it with Stills. I'm not going to chase it with Tannehill. This is. I'm staying away on what appears to be a low scoring game, but I will definitely still roll out Jay Ajayi. There's very few running backs that get the workload. He has broken more tackles per game. Per. Is it per game or. I think it's per touch.
Mike Wright
Okay, per touch.
Jason Moore
Then David Johnson, who leads the league per game. Something. Something like that.
Mike Wright
I wanted to talk a little bit about Ryan Tannehill, which is. This matchup is unfortunate timing for Ryan Tannehill who has been looking for. He has really turned it on. In the first five games, Ryan Tannehill had seven interceptions. Since that time. He has one. One.
Jason Moore
That's one since week six.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
He only has one interception. Yes.
Mike Wright
I mean, he's been playing spectacular. Three touchdowns.
Jason Moore
Two.
Mike Wright
Two.
Jason Moore
He hasn't been just targeting one wide receiver to the.
Mike Wright
And he has a running game. So I mean, things have improved for Antenna Hill, but this is not a matchup where I'm looking to stream him.
Jason Moore
Definitely keep him on your radar because if they. If they have. If they have a good game, then, you know, it's completely for real. I'm not going to in Week 13 start against the Ravens in this matchup, but if they have a bad game, I'm not jumping off either. I'm going to remember that the Dolphins have been playing well and you know, look to those pass catching options next week.
Mike Wright
Terrence West, Kenneth Dixon, what do you do? The dolphins are 30th against the run.
Jason Moore
We did this a few weeks back where it looked like Dixon was going to take over. And I said, Dixon, I believe, is the better play than Terrence West. After that, Terrence west was still the predominant starter. Now I'm doing the same exact thing again. And I think we were just a couple weeks early because you saw the last couple weeks they've kind of been the same.
Mike Wright
He finally out snapped him.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he out snapped him, but barely. And he got the exact same carries and he's involved in the passing game.
Mike Wright
What do you have 17 touches last week?
Jason Moore
Something like that. And the reality is he is the far better back than Terrence West. When you watch the game, you know, it was like being a Cardinals fan, you know, last year For a while. Whereas like every time that David Johnson touched the ball, you go, he, he can make plays that the other guy can't. Why are you still using the other guy? Drives stopped. And I think at this point that's what I see from Dixon. Not, not David Johnson level. But he is a better looking back by the eyeball test. I am saying that I, that I believe you can start Dixon this week.
Mike Wright
Mike Wallace is always a fine play. He's. If you need a wide receiver off the waiver wire where he probably is. Steve Smith's in or not a great game last week.
Jason Moore
I like Steve Smith this week. I expect to bounce back. A bad game happens to everyone. Go, go look at Julio Jones and Antonio Brown. You're never going to have a bad game and sit them. I think you know, Steve Smith is very safe.
Mike Wright
The juggernaut matchup of the week. Monsters going toe to toe, face to face, schnoz to schnoz. The 49ers take on the Bears in a 43 1/2 point over under. The Bears are favored with Matt Barkley under center by a point and a half.
Jason Moore
I'm gonna take the over on this, I think. Oh, I think this game could end up being a real fun one. Now, the weather notwithstanding, I mean, it's going to be 38 degrees, going to be cold. If the weather turns worse, then yeah, maybe that under would be good. But I think both of these defenses, especially the 49ers when they're on the road and the Bears with their recent injuries are going to be able to be scored on. And as soon as one team gets the ball rolling, you might have a slow first quarter, maybe a slow second.
Mike Wright
There'S a crack in the dam.
Jason Moore
As soon as it's. As soon as one team gets, you know, a, a one possession or if any team gets a two possession lead, all of a sudden points are going to start flying back and forth because the defenses can't stop people. I like Jordan Howard in this game. He has still been playing very well. If you go back, watch the tape.
Mike Wright
Look at the matchups, just not catching the ball. Don't watch, do not watch the film of Jordan Howard catching the ball. Unless you have a bag or a trash bucket that you can just profusely vomit into because it is bad.
Jason Moore
Yeah, so weird because he started the year making some great.
Mike Wright
Well, he's still going to get targets, but he just, his hands are, they're, they're not delicate.
Jason Moore
He made some great catches the beginning of the year in college. He Was good as a pass catching back.
Mike Wright
I see. I don't know what's going on with him, but, yeah, it's not something that you want to count on, but 49ers, 32nd against the run that the 49ers are the rushing matchup you want for any fantasy running back. So Jordan Howard gets the long straw this week. The 40. Moving over to the wide receivers. Jeremy Curley, Tori Smith.
Jason Moore
Not just that Jeremy Curley.
Mike Wright
Kaepernick's playing better.
Jason Moore
Smith, you got Marquis Wilson, Cam Meredith.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
On the other side, you got a bunch. You have like this giant slew of wide receivers that you go, someone's going to score fantasy points.
Mike Wright
And you know what? Wilson may have gotten picked up a decent bit with this week's waiver run. I'm going to give you those five wide receivers. Who are you playing out of all.
Jason Moore
Five of those wide receivers? I'm going to. I'm going to chase the points here with Wilson. I think. I think Matt Barkley and Wilson had a good connection last week. Wilson, despite his monster game, still left quite a lot out there. That's how much he was targeted in that game. And if he keeps it going with Barkley at home, I think he's a startable player.
Mike Wright
We've also seen Wilson in the past. He's. I think he's a decent wide receiver and so he. He can possibly get it done. Vance McDonald, spoiler alert. He's going to be talked about later on in the show.
Jason Moore
Carlos Hyde, spoiler alert. He's going to be talked about later on in the show. Look, when the Bears defense has lost as many players and the whole team is just imploding on itself, you pick players that are playing against them right now.
Mike Wright
All right, we'll move on then. Eagles, Bengals 42 point over under. The Eagles are favored. The weather looking 40 degrees, mostly cloudy now. Have these teams with this weather. It's. Where it's cloudy, it's cold. Have they considered playing in a place that has better weather?
Jason Moore
Yeah. How about if you're in Cincinnati or Philadelphia, you build a dome? How about Minnesota did it right? You know, it's like, oh, they've. They've got a dome there. It's. It's freezing. No, it's perfect.
Mike Wright
These.
Jason Moore
Do they.
Mike Wright
Do they like being out there?
Jason Moore
You got some. Sometimes. I mean, you got the crowd that just. They want the snowball, they want the rain game. They want that sloshing mosh pit and that. You know, that just mud coming up on the players and just this grueling defensive running battle. But they're all over 60 now.
Mike Wright
The new generation, we want the finesse.
Jason Moore
Give me the dome. Give me that 80 yard bomb. Give me.
Mike Wright
You know who needs to be in a dome? San Diego? The weather. That even that weather is not good enough for me. I want everything perfectly temperature controlled.
Jason Moore
There you go.
Mike Wright
Eagles, Bengals. Doug Peterson and his lying express at running back. Darren Sprols, Wendell Smallwood, maybe Ryan Matthews. I would consider him doubtful. And he just. If the Eagles. What stinks for us as fantasy players. If the Eagles would just commit to one running back.
Jason Moore
You'd have a running back.
Mike Wright
You would have great production. But they spread it out all over the place. Doug Peterson is not one to.
Jason Moore
I don't expect the truth. I don't expect Ryan Matthews to be back. He has never, ever, ever been a guy quick to recover from injury when he gets a little nicked up.
Mike Wright
No Wolverine Powers.
Jason Moore
No. He takes his time getting back. And at his age right now and his contract situation. Not old. Well, for a running back.
Mike Wright
What is he, 27?
Jason Moore
No. I thought he was almost 30 now.
Mike Wright
Well, you look that up. Jeremy Hill. Rex Burkhead will round it out. The running backs for the other side.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he's 29.
Mike Wright
Oh, really?
Jason Moore
Yep.
Mike Wright
Oh, I was. I was way off then, but. So Jeremy Hill, do you like him? He has the ankle injury, but he's the only show in town.
Jason Moore
I do like Jeremy Hill. I don't like the matchup. I don't like this game. I think it's going to be a lower scoring game. But lower scoring games generally favor running backs to continue getting volume. He is the only show in town, so I think you can start Jeremy Hill. There's just not, you know, there's a dozen or so guys at the running back position that you can count on to get a certain number of carries. So I would, I would certainly play Jeremy.
Mike Wright
You know what I like about Jeremy Hill? Six receptions.
Jason Moore
They pass to the running backs and geo's gone. So that's, that's, that's great. If he can get in the end zone, which is his specialty. Jeremy Hill could be good. This isn't the best matchup. I also.
Mike Wright
It wasn't the best matchup against the Ravens and that's why he got six receptions. Jordan Matthews didn't practice Wednesday. He's still expected to play. And Nelson Aguilar, the healthy scratch who said, quote, it was eye opening. I really hope that Nelson Aguilar can figure out what is going on with. He's got it. He has a severe. I think there's a mental block going on because while I don't expect him to be Julio Jones, just be him. He looked pretty good in college.
Jason Moore
Honestly, when I watch him run his routes, he gets open sometimes he goes Eddie Scissorhands. Yeah. They hit him in the, in the.
Mike Wright
Numbers and he tries to chop the ball in half.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I mean, I hope he gets right as well. I just hope they don't bring him back too soon. I think they should let him sit down for a couple of weeks personally. Let Doyle Green Beckham see what you have in him. Doyle Green Beckham had a very good beginning to the week last week. If Nelson Aguilar is out this week, then you like then I, I think Beckham is a, is a good enough player to start in that flex position. If you're in a pinch at the wide receiver and you need someone, he's got the size to have that touchdown opportunity. And if Aguilar's out, I think he'll take over that number one spot.
Mike Wright
Over on the Bengals, you have AJ Green. Will he look? He's not playing. It's not happening.
Jason Moore
Doubtful is.
Mike Wright
I know Marvin Lewis was like he's going John Fox on this situation. AJ Green is not playing this week. So you have to decide between Brandon Lafell and Tyler Boyd where prohibited.
Jason Moore
I'm taking Tyler Boyd where prohibited. Did you just come up with that? I like it. Yeah. I'm going to take Tyler Boyd because what I saw last week was Brandon Lafell was the number one wide receiver and he cannot, he absolutely cannot get it done in that number one wide receiver role. He is not good enough to create separation to catch those 50, 50 passes to do what needs to be done. So I'm going to take Tyler Boyd.
Mike Wright
Are you Andy Dalton can't be any starting Andy Dalton is.
Jason Moore
I believe I ranked him bottom five and I am Mr. I think Andy Dalton is a great quarterback, but when you don't have the options and you're going up against a pretty good defense, you're not starting Andy Dalton. I probably. I'm not starting Andy Dalton. A two quarterback league right now.
Mike Wright
Eifert must start Zach Ertz kind of getting involved, getting some targets. Do you like him at all? The Bengals are exploitable from the tight end position.
Jason Moore
I think, I think Ertz is a fine play with. Again, we'll have to monitor Aguilar. The sad thing with that is you can't really monitor practice. He's going to be practicing, but you don't know Whether he's going to play. And you're going to have to be prepared for what you're doing on Sunday. So it's a little bit more difficult. But hopefully Aguilar sits.
Mike Wright
Texans, Packers, 45 and a half point over under. The packers are favored by nearly a touchdown. You have.
Jason Moore
That's surprising.
Mike Wright
That it's only a touchdown or that.
Jason Moore
No, that they're favored by that much.
Mike Wright
It's. It's in Lambeau.
Jason Moore
Oh, okay. That makes sense.
Mike Wright
Brock Osweiler going to Lambo.
Jason Moore
I was reading that wrong. I thought they were in. In Houston.
Mike Wright
So are you trusting anybody from the Houston Texans? Are you?
Jason Moore
Yeah, I trust. I trust Lamar Miller. He gets enough volume where. I think you start him every week. You hope that he gets begin the.
Mike Wright
Snap percentage and the touches. He's back.
Jason Moore
He's healthy. He's back. I'm definitely starting him. Against the packers, you've got the temptation to, you know, I bumped Will Fuller up a little bit in my rankings. You've got the talent there that if he can just get one decent target from Brock Osweiler, he can take it to the house.
Mike Wright
That's a problem.
Jason Moore
I know. That is the problem.
Mike Wright
And this is we, for, I believe, the eighth or ninth time in a row, you say if Hopkins can just get it going.
Jason Moore
No, we say if he can't get it done this week, if he can't get it done this week, then you know, you can't trust him anymore. But at this point, he's moved from.
Mike Wright
Fool me once, twice, thrice, to past. He's past Quattro.
Jason Moore
You gotta. Here's what you do. You pull up your computer. You maximize your window on your. On your draft so that you know that the layout is always the same. Okay? You scroll it to where you're looking at your starting lineups. Then you take a Sharpie and you write out. You cross out on your monitor, you cross out where DeAndre Hopkins name is. Okay? You just. So you can't read who it is. You got to click and you gotta look at the escape. No, no, that would. Then you could just take it off and peek and cheat. No, you gotta also make sure.
Mike Wright
Too great.
Jason Moore
Don't scroll because you can also see his name.
Mike Wright
Also. Never use that computer again.
Jason Moore
Yeah. All right. Maybe it's a foolish idea, but the point here is that Hopkins needs to be viewed as what he is, which is a wide receiver. Three option in games.
Mike Wright
A crying shame is what has happened to DeAndre Hopkins. That's how I view it.
Jason Moore
Yeah, man. We were. We're putting up a big vinyl logo at our, at our new digs and man, Brock Osweiler, it's just, it's very tall. He could have been very helpful in putting that up, but he is not a good quarterback. Man, he is just the worst. I'm going to start DeAndre Hopkins, Trevor.
Mike Wright
Simeon or Brock Osweiler?
Jason Moore
Oh, Trevor Simeon. I mean, they made, they made a great move there to not pay him. Buku Bucks Fedorowicz.
Mike Wright
We're going to talk about him in a little bit and then move over to the 2 liter Jared Cook. Is the 2 liter fresh or has it been in the fridge for a couple of days?
Jason Moore
No, it's. It's in the fridge. It's. It's just sitting there. In fact, I think this might be left out right now. The Texans. The Texans are, you know, they're a very good defense. I don't see Cooks getting it done this game. As far as the wide receiver options for the Packers, I know I pumped the brakes on devonte Adams. I don't expect him to have a monstrous game like he did last week, but he's still, he's still in the, in the realm where I'm starting him in most rosters. I'm just pumping the expectations on him. He's not going to do what he did last week because he has been, he's been highly efficient but very low volume. Now, that's Aaron Rodgers way. Aaron Rodgers for years has been highly efficient with low volume. So it's a good match. I think you start all three of those wide receivers. You probably don't have multiples on your team, and I'm not starting all three on the same team. So who are you picking? If you've got. Obviously Jordy's going to be beaten.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
But if you've got Randall Cobbs and Cobbs. If you've got Randall Cobb and devonte.
Mike Wright
Adam, it's still Adams for me. It's still Adams. From your wide receiver one. I hate Adams. And you got to deal with it, man.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I got to. I got to deal with it. And for me, it's Randall Cobb because I'll make that bad decision.
Mike Wright
All right, we're going to move over to the Broncos Jaguars.
Jason Moore
Oh, Andy's almost upset of the week. If you needed to know whether Andy was truly sick and I'm not making this up, dealing with a cold.
Mike Wright
We're not speaking for Andy. He said this. He said, oh, that's my almost upset of the week. The man's love for the Jaguars knows no Bounds, no restrictions. There was an article that came out that pro of head coaches who have I think 59 right around there was the amount of games that the threshold. Gus Bradley was officially the worst coach. Yeah.
Jason Moore
I was like, there's 154 coaches in NFL history that have coached 59 games. The lowest winning percentage.
Mike Wright
Gus Bus.
Jason Moore
The Gus Bus is driving out of town real soon. I mean he is. He could just start loading that Gus Bus up because he's out of there. But fantasy wise for this game. Andy, see something I don't. I don't. I don't think you're going to get garbage time from Blake Bortles like you.
Mike Wright
Normally against the number one passing defense.
Jason Moore
No.
Mike Wright
Chris Harris a keep to Lee. Possibly the best. If you're saying the best two corners on one single team.
Jason Moore
Here's what the Broncos don't do. When they get down, they don't go prevent. You know what I mean? They don't switch to that prevent defense.
Mike Wright
When they get up, you mean?
Jason Moore
Yes. I'm sorry. When they.
Mike Wright
When they get down.
Jason Moore
I just assumed. I just. Look, if I'm talking about being down in this game, I'm talking about the Jaguars. I just assumed that the team that would be down would be the Jags. But when they, when the Broncos get up, they don't move to that prevent defense. You're not going to get garbage time Bortles here. I don't like Bortles. I don't really like Alan Robinson in this game.
Mike Wright
No. I'm benching Robinson.
Jason Moore
You are.
Mike Wright
I would.
Jason Moore
In your personal league. I don't. I'm not liking a lot of the pieces. They will try to run the ball. Denver is susceptible to that. If Chris Ivory is out and Yelden is in and he's the only guy. I think he is.
Mike Wright
Yeah. You play him.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I think you do. I think you play him. He'll. He'll get enough volume against a team that can and has given up production to the running back. You're not going to be happy about it.
Mike Wright
No. You need to take that Sharpie.
Jason Moore
But if.
Mike Wright
And you need to scribble out more of your monitor when you click, you're.
Jason Moore
Just going to end up blacking the whole thing out. Just. I can't look anymore. Ivory needs to be completely out to play Yelp. Yes.
Mike Wright
And Yelda needs to be completely out to play Ivory.
Jason Moore
Yeah. You're not starting either one of these guys if they've got a compadre in the backfield.
Mike Wright
That's true. Now, Demarious. Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Manuel Sanders. Monster game. Monster. Two plays, really for Sanders. Simeon banged up going against the third best pass defense according to giving up yardage.
Jason Moore
That's something that needs to be talked about because we mock the Jacks. We talk about they're going to be down, but their defense has actually been their past defense. Yes, their past defense has been quite stellar. Jalen Ramsey is a great draft pick this this year and when it comes to Demaryius Thomas, I wanted to speak to him real quick because he is the clear number two wide receiver on that team. When I watch that game, I mean.
Mike Wright
I thought we were going to have to fight.
Jason Moore
Oh, no. Trevor Simeon, he is targeting. His first read is Emmanuel Sanders. And yes, I said Trevor Simeon is better than Brock Osweiler, but that is not a vote of confidence for Trevor Simeon. Trevor Simeon doesn't make it to his second read all too often. Now, DT is a pretty darn good second read and he can get it done with those big plays. We saw him catch two big balls last week. But with Trevor Simeon, you know, the ailing foot. I think Jalen Ramsey will probably be on dt. Maybe he'll be on Emmanuel Sanders. But I like Emmanuel Sanders more than DT this week since I think it was week five. Since week five, demarius Thomas has only had one big monster fantasy game. Everything else has been all right, but he is the wide receiver 30 since that time.
Mike Wright
And so that's, you know, that's not what you drafted.
Jason Moore
Certainly not what you were hoping for. I would lower expectations here against the Jags for dt and so Devonte Booker.
Mike Wright
Is going to be talked about in just a moment, so let's just move over to there. I think there's not really anything else to break down on the Jags game.
Jason Moore
Really? You don't want to talk about Alan Hearns and. No, let's move it. Starts of the week.
Mike Wright
We're going to kick this off with Andy.
Jason Moore
Andy.
Mike Wright
Andy was able to. He's waving again. Andy's quarterback. Start of the week, Philip Rivers is taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is. I think this is still the wise thing. The Tampa Bay defense has been surging. However, it is in San Diego. Tampa Bay has to go across the country and Philip Rivers has been just spectacular.
Jason Moore
Look, Andy picked this before I did. I went in to pick. I actually wrote a whole write up on Philip Rivers because he was my start of the week this week. And then I was like, come on, Andy, you're not even doing this show and you've got him So I love this pick. Tampa Bay's defense has been incredible, but that's been in back to back home. You know, the emotions are going when they travel to San Diego. They're not going to stop Philip Rivers. If you're worried about Rivers, don't be. I agree. He's going to be a great start.
Mike Wright
I agree. And I will just throw this out there. This is a real NFL thing. If Tampa Bay can deliver in San Diego, it start. You need to start thinking about Tampa Bay as a legit team. Yeah. Because their offense is going to move.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
They can get it done with Winston and Mike Evans. They'll be able to get some things done. And of course, Doug Martin. But just, just saying that if their defense can show up against Philip Rivers, I have my doubts.
Jason Moore
47 and a half point over, under there. So Vegas does not think they're going to lock them down.
Mike Wright
Who do you got at quarterback, Jason?
Jason Moore
Quarterback? I've got a guy that I think you told me don't do it.
Mike Wright
I did.
Jason Moore
And I'm saying do it.
Mike Wright
I'm saying, Russell Wilson, you're going Nike on here.
Jason Moore
I am just doing it with Russell Wilson. Look, last week against this Tampa Bay team we were just talking about, he put up the stinker of all stinkers. I mean, if you had Russell Wilson, you are upset. You might just be hate benching him this week. Regardless, he could be playing Cleveland and you're like, this is a hate bench. I'm just dropping him. And I. Look, I don't, I don't blame you. I mean, devonte Adams, you can, you can't hate bench. I'm just saying I'm very mad at devonte Adams and Greg Olson right now. Those two guys, they're not getting Christmas cards. And I deleted their contacts out of my phone.
Mike Wright
But Andy just chimed in, something about your Twitter.
Jason Moore
He said, not according to my tweet.
Mike Wright
Oh, I believe that your Twitter is being currently hacked.
Jason Moore
Oh, come on, Andy, are you. Oh, and he's hacking my Twitter. Oh, my gosh.
Mike Wright
Anyway, so Russell Wilson, explain why you have this.
Jason Moore
Here's why. I believe Russell Wilson is actually a very good play this week. The reasons are because you had three weeks in a row of Russell Wilson being extremely good for fantasy. Against Buffalo, against New England, against Philadelphia, he put up basically 30 points three weeks in a row. But then he had to go from New England or I'm sorry, he was in Philly, had to go to Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay was riding high. That was kind of this perfect storm of a Bad situation for him and he stunk it up. But now he's going back home and they have something to prove because they just got humiliated by Tampa Bay and they're going back to their home team against Carolina, a team that they're not going to let their guard down for. And that Carolina team has been bad against the pass, and they're probably going to still be missing Luke Keakley. So to me, I think Russell Wilson is going to be able to get it done, and a lot of people are going to wrongly bench him. I'm saying, start Russell Wilson.
Mike Wright
That's fair. Now mine, I was, I was getting the guff from Jason because he said, well, this is kind of an obvious one, but I want to lay some fears to rest. That's why Andrew Luck is my star Tom Brady. No, no, no, no, no. Because I'm getting the questions.
Jason Moore
Sure.
Mike Wright
And I'm talking a lot of people a high volume of question. You had Andrew Locke, he missed a game. Concussion. The short term memory of fantasy football players, including, I mean, we're all guilty of that. The recency bias. You forget, Andrew Luck is my start of the week. I'm getting. Well, I have Kaepernick. Should I play Kaepernick or Luck? You play Andrew Luck. I have Derek Carr play Andrew Luck. Tyrod Taylor. These are real questions that I'm getting in high volumes. So I. So I want. Did you check out your Twitter?
Jason Moore
My Twitter? This is disgusting.
Mike Wright
Hold on, hold on.
Jason Moore
Breaking news. Okay, so what did you, what did.
Mike Wright
You have to say?
Jason Moore
Here's some of the things I've said.
Mike Wright
First, you've said multiple things.
Jason Moore
Oh, yeah. First, I've been thinking a lot about my life lately. Holloway is both the man and the fantasy football analyst that I want to be.
Mike Wright
That's so. That's nice of you.
Jason Moore
With a Pledge of Allegiance style animated gift followed by a wonderful picture of Jeffrey Fisher, head coach of the Rams. And it says, that's a low blow. Yeah, this is really bad. It says friend, father figure, mentor, hero. Oh, captain. My captain goat. I mean, oh, this is, this is not good. And they just, they just go on and on. I mean, he is, he is not slowing down. Favorite players of mine include Brandon Lafell, Greg Olson, Devonte Adams, Chandler Cantazaro, Jeremy Macklin. He is destroying my Twitter. Greg Olson and Devonte Arnhems are my lovers. Oh, this is just. I gotta. We gotta wrap this show up quick so I can fix my tweets.
Mike Wright
All right, so Andrew Luck. This is just. I'm putting those fears to bed.
Jason Moore
I agree.
Mike Wright
Don't even think about your Kaepernick look. Andrew Luck versus the Jets. Give me Andrew Luck. Yeah.
Jason Moore
If I've got Andrew Luck, I'm starting him. All right, let's move to running backs. Andy's running back is Theo Riddick. I know you like this one because you wanted to take.
Mike Wright
This is what I wanted to be my start of the week. He's somehow averaging more fantasy points per game than David Johnson. There's going to be a lot of points, and that's. That's Andy's stat. So you put that vetting on Andy. I'm just reading. I'm going Ron Burgundy here.
Jason Moore
That can't be true.
Mike Wright
Is that true, Andy? Is that true that Theo Riddick is averaging more fantasy points per game than David Johnson? You wrote that down and I put it in there.
Jason Moore
Look. That needs to be heavily vetted. There's a. I'm sure a lot of NyQuil running through.
Mike Wright
We talked about how it was. Jared Goff is the first quarterback to throw three touchdowns against the Saints this season because running backs are destroying them. Running backs are getting unbelievable fantasy production against the Saints. So I love this. I love Theo Ridiculous and running back one, especially if you're in a half or full point PPR and he's getting the snaps.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I think it's a good pick. So since that's Andy's and you couldn't have it, who did you end up going?
Mike Wright
I'm going with Devonta Booker. Look, 24 carries the last two games, 76 plus rushing yards in those games. Fantasy players have the. The shine is off of Devonte Booker. You had him tearing it up in the back, the backup role with CJ Anderson there. Everyone thought the golden ticket was found when he turned into the starting running back. He thought, oh, this is spectacular. I got a running back one. Then he had a couple down games. Maybe Devontae Booker isn't necessarily that complete guy who is a three down guy. He's going to wear the defenses down. But he's been good the last couple of weeks. He's been spectacular. Was. That's hyperbolic. But he's been very good. Gets to take on Jacksonville. We talked about how good the passing defense is for Jacksonville. The running defense is bad. You can run on them. So I just. I like Booker to get the volume of carries. I like him to be a solid running back, too.
Jason Moore
No, I like that a lot. All right, I'm going to go over to a guy I mentioned earlier for My running back start of the week and it's Carlos Hyde. You might be looking if you're on ESPN and you see the opponent rank is fourth, right? Chicago is supposed to be fourth.
Mike Wright
That's dangerous. That's red.
Jason Moore
Yes, that's red. That's like, oh man, do I start him? The Chicago's not giving up a lot to running backs, but this is a different style offense and it's a different defense really with some of the injuries recently. Carlos Hyde, I've said it the last two weeks, he is an RB1, he's not a. He's not a high end RB2. I think he is one of the top 12 running backs of fantasy football to have right now on the season when he has played the actual full game and not been injured. Do you know how many times he has had less than teens in his carry count?
Mike Wright
Less than. Less than.
Jason Moore
Less than 13, 13, 00. And most of the time, I mean he's got, you know, a game with 23, a game with 21, a game with 22, a game with 19. And then if it's not going the way where he can get those. You see him involved in the passing game. 5 catches or 6 catches. He is used a lot. He's the centerpiece of this offense. I. We were just talking about this Chicago game. I think the scoring can get out of hand. I just need someone to take a good lead early and I think Carlos Hyde is going to be in for a big fantasy game.
Mike Wright
Andy's wide receiver start of the week. He's going with Tyreek the freak. Mystique Shashi makes him.
Jason Moore
I was gonna. But I was. I was.
Mike Wright
Squeak a word. Squeak.
Jason Moore
Squeak. Oh, squeak. Basketball.
Mike Wright
I heard you. I was going up a squeak. Tyreek Hill taking on Atlanta. There should be a lot of points going up on the board. I agree with that. He. Right now he is. He is a focal point of the offense. We've seen the explosiveness that cannot be denied and he does have the note. If Macklin sits again with the groin, he becomes a must start. I don't know how Andy feels about him if Macklin is a full go. When you're talking that Tyreek is still not an every snap, not an every down player. So I don't know if that moves him down for him, but it as of right now, if Macklin sits. Andy loves Tyree Kill. Who do you got at wide receiver?
Jason Moore
Jay at wide receiver. I have a guy that we actually need a water bet button here for because we made one beforehand that's going to.
Mike Wright
You talk about them. I'll find the button.
Jason Moore
All right. Andy vehemently disagrees with water bet. Brandon Cooks needs to be started in your lineup this week, Andy.
Mike Wright
And I'm on board. He's a must start.
Jason Moore
Yes. Andy disagrees. We have a top 15 water bet as to whether or not Brandon Cooks will finish the top 15. I am saying start him. Look, when a guy puts up a full goose, a zero, it is very hard. Is that a goose? Yeah. When he puts up a zero, it's hard to start him the following week. But when you've got a squeaky wheel and Sean Payton might not buy into the squeaky wheel argument, but Sean Payton's not the one in charge when they're out there on the field. It's Drew Brees and Brandon Cooks. This year has been the clear number one wide receiver for Drew Brees. The game plan just didn't work to get Cooks involved and they didn't need it to. Now they, they might not need it this week because it's a fantastic matchup for Brandon Cooks. But that's never a bad thing. Right? Like having a great matchup isn't like, oh, sit your guys.
Mike Wright
This matchup is.
Jason Moore
They might score too many points. Brandon Cooks, stardom. He's going to get the passes. As the squeaky wheel Detroit breeze at home. Enough said.
Mike Wright
My wide receiver, I talked about this at the beginning of the show. I'm taking a little bit of a risk here because I'm almost Stefan Diggs. He's coming off the injury. He's been practicing. I expect him to play. And I think that the change in the offense is the real deal for Minnesota since Norv Turner stepped down. And you have the west coast coming in here with the short passes. He had 13 receptions in the back to back weeks. They took on Arizona the next week. He got shut down by Patrick Peterson. You know who's getting shut down by Patrick Peterson?
Jason Moore
Who?
Mike Wright
Absolutely. Everybody. Everybody. You don't start your wide receiver ones against Patrick Peterson. Julio Jones shut down by Patrick Peterson. So that's. I don't mark that against the fun. Diggs.
Jason Moore
Sure.
Mike Wright
That's not a negative. To me, that's just life against Patrick Peterson. So I'm going to chase these points. I'm going to chase these receptions that the Dallas DBs, they can be beat. We talked about Dallas is giving up almost the most receptions per game and you get a guy who's going to get high volume of receptions.
Jason Moore
Yeah, it's.
Mike Wright
Give it to me.
Jason Moore
It's risky, but I actually do like the pick. I think it's good to remind people what Stefan Diggs was doing and if he's back and he's healthy and you're in a ppr, it's a great play. And he's tight end and Moving there is C.J. fedorowicz.
Mike Wright
Fedorowicz.
Jason Moore
And actually I think this is a good. You know, we should say this about Brock Osweiler. I think Brock Osweiler would be better if all of his receivers were like 6 foot 7 and he doesn't have to throw the ball down to the ground. And honestly, he's pretty good throwing to his tight ends. I feel like.
Mike Wright
Especially Fedorowicz.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I mean those he seems to be able to make. So Fedorowicz against green bay, they're 25th. Against the tight end. He should be good for, you know, three to eight catches. He's not going to crap your team. I think Fedora Witz is an okay play here.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I like it. And I'm going to go with Vance McDonald. I'm staying in the Flames.
Jason Moore
He's got Vance in his pants.
Mike Wright
Makes him do the boogie dance.
Jason Moore
There you go.
Mike Wright
I'm staying in the flames. 84 yards, 50 yards, 46 yards, 60 yards. With a couple of touchdown receptions in those games, Colin Kaepernick is playing well. And part of his playing well has elevated Vance McDonald, who is a huge play guy. You saw the the 75 yard touchdown against Carolina in week two. He is a gifted, gifted athlete. And with if Colin Kaepernick is going to play at a decent level as a quarterback, I think Vance McDonald can get it done even in this. Jason talked about how he likes this matchup against the Bears, how if the points start coming, he thinks that the dam will explode and we'll get some points put on the clock.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Mike Wright
So I like Vance McDonald here and I bet that Vance McDonald is on your waiver wire.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he is almost certainly on your waiver wire for me.
Mike Wright
And it was. I went with Vance McDonald because you took my other start of the week.
Jason Moore
Yeah, this is. Look, I'm starting two guys as my start. I'm telling you, start them. You must start these guys who put up goose eggs last week. The second one here is Eric. The goose is loose. The goose is loose. Eric Ebron disappointed everyone in an epic way against Minnesota last week. Zero receptions, zero yards, zero touchdowns. Obviously that would be amazing. He could have ran one in.
Mike Wright
Well, he has.
Jason Moore
There you go.
Mike Wright
But I'm saying if he got zero receptions and managed to Score the touchdown with zero receptions because he didn't catch the ball.
Jason Moore
Yeah, well, that's why I was saying he could have ran it in, but.
Mike Wright
If he did run one in, and.
Jason Moore
Hebron is the guy I'm starting this week, the reason why, because he is still an extremely talented. He was. You know, we've said this before, but sometimes you forget he was drafted at the 10th pick in the first round because the guy is a great athlete. They need him and they have used him. On the season, he has several games with four receptions, five receptions, a couple of seven reception games. When you're talking about tight end numbers, those are great. Yes, the zero is bad, but that's not going to be every week. That was Minnesota. Now you're going up against the New Orleans Saints, who have certainly been beat at the tight end position on a regular basis. I think Eric Ebron is safe. And I just want to tell people because I've had a lot of questions saying, like, man, do I. Do I start him after what he showed last week?
Mike Wright
They want to hate Benjamin. Eric Ebron, before the goose egg. 79 yards, 92 yards, 70 yards. He's involved in the passing game. I agree that he's a must start.
Jason Moore
My, my starts of the week are all like, bounce. You like the bounce backs.
Mike Wright
All right, we're running a little bit over, but we cannot, we cannot deprive the foot clan.
Jason Moore
Jason Moore's ironclad, locked and loaded. 100% guaranteed boom boom kicker of the week.
Mike Wright
All right, Jay, who do you got? Who's going to boom boom?
Jason Moore
I'm putting a little bit of Bailey's in the coffee. Dan Bailey. Dan Bailey is. First of all, he's one of the best kickers of all time. If he was on a different team, you'd be talking about him instead of. Instead of Guskowski or Vinateri. He, you know, he is just in real life a great kicker. Then you have a matchup here that with an offense that is excellent against a good defense, And Minnesota is 21st against the Kickers. I think this offense is going to be able to move the ball. It's hard to punch in those touchdowns against Minnesota. And more importantly, most importantly, he is playing on Thursday Night Football for the favored team. Yeah, and goodness gracious, we're not. We're not jumping off that five.
Mike Wright
You ride that snake till it crashes.
Jason Moore
Ride the snake.
