So, and then there's a lot of even beyond the regular free agency, which will go into the players that are available and the teams that are needy for various positions. But there are these rumors persisting about other players too, right? Like yesterday, Latavius Murray talk of him, you know, not. Not being a part of the Raiders. And what happens to. There's two sides of it, right? There's. There's where these guys go and then there's the holes that they may leave on these teams that get filled by draft picks and possible trades and other. Other free agent pickups. So it's always very exciting.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah, guys like Jimmy G, Jimmy Garoppolo, all the. All the hotness and trade rumors. Not a free agent, but he's on the move.

That's right. If you want to follow us. I don't know. I don't know. It's a weird day. You know, sometimes there's, you know, we do the show and it feels like you were just here in the studio and you, you know, you just did a show and we're here with another one. Today's one of those days where it feels like I haven't recorded a show in 13 years. Like, I just feel like I'm coming back from a big break. I don't know why it is, but.

So Harmon does this fantastic work where he breaks down wide receivers, their success rate independent of the quarterback. Because we know that wide receivers are so heavily tied to a quarterback, but how did a wide receiver do? Just running their routes against man coverage, zone coverage, double. And he breaks this down. See how successful were they? He's going to break down 15 draft prospects, these rookies where you don't know much about them. He's also going to be charting 50 guys, 50 NFL players from last year for the. And that'll be exclusive for the Ultimate Draft Kit. I mean, it's very, very exciting, and it's excellent information if you've ever seen it before.

Who do you think you'll love next year? Who are you falling in love with? Slowly, from a distance.

I'll kick this one over. It can't be Latavius Murray because he might not have a home yet, but can I interest you in a man who has been a top 10 wide receiver the last two years? Does anybody want one of those? Well, here's the deal. There have been only four men who have done it the last two years and you know their names. Os. Julio. It's Odell Beckham. Antonio, you went to the south for a moment. I'm all over the place. Here's the deal. Odell Beckham, Julio Jones and Antonio Brown. Those are the only three guys who have finished in the top 10 the last two years. That's why they get drafted number one, number two and number three. Oh, wait, wait. There's another man who has done it the last two years. Only one other. He's got to be drafted number four, right? Or five, maybe. Or six or seven, eight, nine.

[Mike Wright]

Based on that logic, he is drafted.

[Jason Moore]

Behind 17 other wide receivers right now. And that.

[Andy Holloway]

He's your valentine.

[Jason Moore]

That is my valentine. Doug Baldwin, my heart goes out to you. You are undervalued under appreciated, but not by this guy. I will have you on my roster next season.

Yeah, I think it's shocking that. I mean, we're in early. We're very early draft ADP data right now, but the guy for two years in a row. Maybe you didn't buy in last year. I wasn't completely bought into Doug Baldwin last season, but he did it again. I know there was some inconsistencies at the beginning of the season, but we saw Russell Wilson extremely injured, could. Could barely move. Then Doug Baldwin got it going on and yet people are still not buying into it.

[Jason Moore]

But I'm.

[Mike Wright]

I'm jumping on with Jason. I love Doug Baldwin well, but he is not my fantasy valentine and he's making an extremely strange face at me. Do you want to jump in here?

[Andy Holloway]

I was trying to decide whether I want to go next because mine is not a wide receiver. Alright, Mike. Like yours is Mike.

[Mike Wright]

Yes. Oh, I'll. I'll jump here. Round into form, my valentine is a man who is much like Doug Baldwin, getting very, very little respect as of right now. In fact, on the fantasy football calculator. Great place for adp. He's not even registering in their adp, which is be nanas.

[Andy Holloway]

That's crazy.

[Mike Wright]

Be nanas. And that is Cameron Meredith from the Chicago Bears. Do I expect him to be undrafted come draft season? No, but I think that he will still be a draft value. Last year he had more yards, more receiving yards than Alan Robinson, Jameson Crowder, Brandon Marshall. Pro Football Focus just highlighted Cameron Meredith as their best double route running wide receiver of last year. And this one's a shout out.

[Andy Holloway]

Double move.

[Mike Wright]

What did I. Oh yeah. Double move. Thank you.

Two routes at once is super impressive. I was gonna say the old double route.

[Andy Holloway]

I'm over here, I'm over there. Mike's normally so on top of these advanced metrics that I thought I was missing something. I remember. That's double.

[Mike Wright]

And I already had Cam Meredith down as my fantasy valentine. And then shout out to Jersey Jen who was tweeting about wide receivers. These are guys who posted five or more weeks as a wide receiver. One. There's only nine of them. Only nine. You know who one of those guys is? Cameron freaking Meredith.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah.

[Mike Wright]

Getting no respect. No respect in early February.

[Andy Holloway]

Oh, well, I think that happens because Alshon Jeffrey, he gone. I know. But he was intermittent last year and Meredith filled in the gaps and people had expectations for Eddie Royal. Then Eddie Royal gets hurt and they had expectations for Marcus Wilson and then Marcus Wilson gets hurt.

[Jason Moore]

Don't forget about Kevin White.

[Andy Holloway]

And Kevin White. So that's one reason. The other reason is the quarterback. Quarterback is gone.

[Jason Moore]

Quarterback likely to change or is the quarterback improved?

[Mike Wright]

Yeah. Was there a quarterback Because Cameron Meredith got it done with the trash that they had filling in all year.

[Andy Holloway]

You got it. Hey, there's no reason not to be in love with an undrafted guy who had those numbers. And he's a talent and he's young. So I wanted him as my valentine, I'll put it that way.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah. I took him to the ball though.

[Andy Holloway]

Going to bring up a name nice and early here in February.

[Mike Wright]

Oh, no.

[Andy Holloway]

And I know he'll be on a lot of my teams, but he won't be on yours.

[Jason Moore]

Hmm.

[Andy Holloway]

Because his name is Todd Gurley.

[Jason Moore]

Oh, no, you are correct.

[Andy Holloway]

And I, frankly, I. I do. He's my fantasy valentine because I'm going to jump in the Jacuzzi with Todd early February, getting ready for the season. I believe in Sean McVay and I disbelieve in Jeff Fisher's capability to do anything right.

[Mike Wright]

You know who believes in Sean McVay, Big Bird and Snuffleupagus.

[Andy Holloway]

Hey, look, Sean McVay. Sean McVay will come in, they'll renovate that O line. The defense will be great. Underweight Phillips. I believe in McVeigh as an up and coming mind that can get the. And look, there is no one else that this team is built around Todd Gurley. The volume is there for Todd Gurley. We looked at this, right? Nobody had more carries inside the red zone than Todd Gurley.

[Mike Wright]

Percentage. Percentage. People had more, but he had the most. The highest percentage of a team's rushing attempt.

[Andy Holloway]

So if that offense improves, I really, really believe in Todd Gordon. So he's my early fantasy valentine. We'll leave it at that. I know that he'll drop in some drafts compared to other players. We talked about this. I think I would put him right around that number five running back spot.

[Mike Wright]

I'm going to look at where he's going as of right now.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah, I would love to. Love to hear that information.

[Mike Wright]

In standard leagues, he is going at 204.

And he is the 10th running back. The 10th running back currently.

Huh. All right. I would probably take him five, six.

David Johnson, Zeke Love Bell, Shady. That's the one that I was like on the fence with. DeMarco.

[Mike Wright]

You're on the fence between Shady and Gurley.

Melvin.

I just named guys that I will.

Be in a standard league. I'm on the fence in a ppr. I think I'm going to lean Shady and I'm going to lean. You know, Jordan Howard is up in that mix. Who else do we. We have.

Did you say Freeman?

[Andy Holloway]

Devonta Freeman is probably right above him.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah.

[Andy Holloway]

So I'm just. I think I'm going to be on the upper side of Gurley's projection there. So I believe in the talent still. I think last year was one of those years that was just plain rotten, so.

Well, no one disagrees with that.

[Andy Holloway]

All right, let's get into the news.

News and notes from around the league.

[Andy Holloway]

Still had the volume down from our Valentine's day.

[Mike Wright]

That's what you get for your volume tricks.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah. Yeah. All right. Carson Palmer says he's coming back. That's good. I think it's good. I think it is good for Larry Fitzgerald. I think it's good for David Johnson.

[Jason Moore]

There's. There can be no question that it is good for the 2017 Cardinals long term. Who knows. You know, obviously this will probably be the last year of both of those men. But I think that on the Cardinals there's no I think on any NFL team.

[Andy Holloway]

Right. Yeah.

[Jason Moore]

But yeah.

[Mike Wright]

Did you see the news on Steve Keim? What in Keim did come out and confirm. He said we have to get a franchise quarterback. I will be very surprised if they don't take one in the first two rounds if the Cardinals don't draft a quarterback.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah, yeah. They have to look to the future there means a lot for the rest of that franchise and obviously and not wasting David Johnson's prime years as the running back because we don't want to see him stuck in a girly like situation like last year. Many, many running backs face that The Giants have released Rashad Jennings and Victor Cruz. What do you think the impact is of the Jennings release to the future of Paul Perkins? Do they draft somebody? Do they lean on Perkins as a bell cow? Where is, where is Perkins in your dynasty view? Where is he in your redraft view? I want to know because I'm asking for a friend.

[Jason Moore]

I don't think they go after. I mean they'll probably bring in another running back just for depth. You lose a running back, you bring one in. But I don't think they're going to spend a high capital on trying to find a stud running back. I don't anticipate that they're going to bring in, you know, Latavius Murray. They have plenty of backs there. Shane Vereen is expected to be back. You've got Paul Perkins. You have depth there.

[Andy Holloway]

4.1 A carry in his rookie year.

[Jason Moore]

And he showed flashes.

[Andy Holloway]

He catch the ball.

[Jason Moore]

I like Paul Perkins. I expect him to have the opportunity. My big issue is I don't think that the New York Giants are a great team at running the ball. I don't think that's their forte and that's their system. So I think you're still going to be limited in the running back for that offense. But we saw the end of 2015. Rashad Jennings was very productive for fantasy football and so if Paul Perkins could take that role over younger fresher, maybe he's valuable in 2017.

[Mike Wright]

I think Shane Vereen is. You mentioned it. But he will be the unforgotten man come draft season.

[Andy Holloway]

Unforgotten.

[Jason Moore]

So everyone's going to remember him, man.

[Mike Wright]

It's tough on the streets right now for me, fellas. He will be the forgotten man when it comes to drafting Paul Perkins. I like Paul Perkins. He was a guy I liked coming into the draft last year. But they have Vereen there for a very specific reason and that is catching the ball. And we've seen that running backs, that if you're not the third down guy, you can lose a lot of value. Not that there's a ton of workhorse running backs anymore, but Paul Perkins will. I think he's going to be. He'll rise rapidly.

[Andy Holloway]

It's very interesting because Perkins. Last year the utilization of Perkins began as a pass kick running back.

[Mike Wright]

Well, because Shane Vereen was out as.

[Andy Holloway]

A screen running back. So he did it. He had 24 targets, 15 catches. So I. It'll be. At least he can do it on first, second down if they need it. Let's move on here. Victor Cruz was released. They saved some money. One NFL scout reported they think Victor Cruz is probably done. I tend to agree.

[Mike Wright]

Victor Cruz needs to call up Jimmy Graham and say, how do you. How did you do it, man?

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah, I mean Cruz, Cruz. Cruz had been through.

[Mike Wright]

He was already. He was old.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah, he's on the downtrend. I mean, could he come and have an Anquan Bolden type impact somewhere? No, probably not.

[Mike Wright]

He's not. He's a different player than Anquan.

[Andy Holloway]

Let's see, what else do we want to bring up here in the news? Jay Gruden is handling play calling duties in 2017 for Washington with Sean McVeigh, the aforementioned leaving to become the Rams head coach. Any impact of Gruden handling these duties?

[Mike Wright]

I think he'll be fine.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah, I don't think there's a huge negative. If anything, I know that he had expressed concern that maybe they were passing the ball a little bit too much. No, no, Jay, this could be.

I do. Let's do it.

All right, well, let's start with. This doesn't have to be complex and in depth here, but let's, let's give the lay of the land here because now we are. We're through the regular season, the super bowl is over. We're entering the time of year where free agency and the NFL draft, all of these things come to fruition. So let's explain the difference between. Because we're going to walk through the free agents available. Sure. But let's explain the difference between an unrestricted free agent and a restricted free agent.

[Mike Wright]

Well, a restricted free agent, that means that the team, like just to make it easy to consume is the team will be able to resign that player even if they get an offer from another team. Yeah, that's the, that's the easiest way.

[Andy Holloway]

They have a right of first refusal. That's a good way to think about. There you go. So what happens is they can tender a restricted free agent. An example of this, plain and simple, last year was C.J. anderson.

[Mike Wright]

C.J.

[Andy Holloway]

Anderson last year was a restricted free agent. They tendered him at a second round value. Is that correct?

[Mike Wright]

No, no, they screwed up with Anderson. Yeah, they gave Anderson a garbage tender. And so he was able to go out and then Miami offered him a lot of money.

[Andy Holloway]

That's right. They offered him a ton of money.

[Mike Wright]

If they had just offered him that second round tender, people might have stayed away.

[Andy Holloway]

Right. Because what happens is if a team signs a player that is a restricted free agent and the team chooses not to match their, their own team chooses not to match, that team will receive a pick as compensation. And that is corollary to the, to the tender.

[Mike Wright]

Correct.

[Andy Holloway]

So if CJ Anderson had been tendered at a second round value and the Dolphins and signed him, they would have received a second round draft pick. So that's a. I think I made it more complicated right after I said it.

[Mike Wright]

That's right.

[Andy Holloway]

Here's. Here's the thing. Unrestricted, there ain't no drama.

[Jason Moore]

Right?

[Andy Holloway]

You can just sign with another team.

[Jason Moore]

Where are you going?

[Andy Holloway]

And the reality is, is you have. We'll get into the wide receivers. You know, when you're an unrestricted free agent, if you haven't negotiated a contract extension, a lot of the times it's really hard to keep those guys.

[Mike Wright]

Yes.

[Andy Holloway]

Because somebody's going out there to make a splash, to make an impact. They're limited names and a lot of the times they're just gone. So let's start at the quarterback position. What teams do you see as the most quarterback needy teams for the available free agents?

[Mike Wright]

The mo the neediest of teams is of course the Cleveland Browns and they are hard cemented into this team. Jason's shaking his head.

[Jason Moore]

I don't think they're the neediest team but that's fine. They certainly have no quarterback.

[Mike Wright]

They're among among the neediest teams. Cody Kessler, maybe. Maybe they think he's the future. The Chicago Bears, all reports have them moving on from Jay Cutler. And who are they going to do? They had a rotation of guys. Hoyer was there. Barkley filled in for a little bit. The Houston Texans I think have some extreme buyers remorse with Brock Osweiler. I don't know if they'll be able to make a move but they'll certainly be looking. The Buffalo Bills are. Looks like they might let Tyrod go. The New York jets, the Broncos and San Francisco are the. To me those are the top teams that need a quarterback.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah, those are the big teams that are on the hunt available free agent wise. Kirk Cousins is a free agent.

[Mike Wright]

He technically, technically is a free agent.

[Andy Holloway]

We don't expect Kirk Cousins to go anywhere.

[Jason Moore]

If they can't sign a contract with Kirk Cousins I believe they will do the second year in a row franchise which he has said he'll fine with that. Go ahead, pay me top quarterback money and then let me sign another contract next year.

[Andy Holloway]

Is it tenable for them to do that? And then next year they'd have to have a long term deal in place. Otherwise he's going to get paid. I believe the third year of a franchise is like number one money.

[Mike Wright]

Can you even do that? I thought you could only do it twice.

[Jason Moore]

It is tenable for them to do it this year. The Washington Redskins are expected to have the sixth highest salary cap available. So they can spend that money on a one year deal to make sure he's their guy. I do agree it's probably better for them long term to just get a deal done. He's a good enough quarterback. He already proved that this year and last year. You should sign him to something long term. Regardless. Kirkhus is a huge name that many teams would go after in the NFL. But he's not going to be leaving the Redskins. So that's bad for great storylines.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah. So the guys who are really available in, in my opinion, Tony Romo will be traded or released. The hotness Jimmy Garoppolo. All signs point to the Patriots trading him. And then you have kind of the unforgotten Mike Glennon, Tampa Bay Buccaneers who played. Okay, I don't know that, that we saw enough to, to go out and say, okay, Mike Lennon is a franchise quarterback.

[Jason Moore]

He's special.

[Mike Wright]

Tampa Bay didn't think he was when they had the, the option to draft Jameis Winston number one. But he has been there and Mike Lennon will be available. I think he will get that, that mid level type starter money. Someone's going to pick him up. And then of course, Brian Hoyer, Geno Smith, sorry, Gino. And Ryan Fitzpatrick who's probably done.

[Andy Holloway]

I mean, when you look at Brian hoyer, he's only 31 years old and he's an experienced quarterback. He was playing well, very well for Chicago during that period of time. Very few turnovers, very efficient. I mean you look, it's comical because you look at Houston and where they're at and what they could have done with that. Kind of a consistent quarterback behind what.

[Mike Wright]

They did with that. I know he had an abysmal playoff game. I totally get it.

[Jason Moore]

But he was pretty good on the season. It's ironic because when I shook my head that I don't think the Cleveland Browns are the most quarterback needy team. That's because they, a quarterback's not going to help their team. I mean, you know, they need a million pieces. I feel like the most quarterback needy team is the Houston Texans. Like they, they need a legit quarterback and Brian Hoyer was there.

[Mike Wright]

To me, it's the Broncos.

[Andy Holloway]

The thing about Houston is that they're not in the position to have buyer's remorse twice. They're not going to go out there and sign a free agent quarterback or trade for, for somebody they have to sign to a long term deal with Brock. The, you know, they'll draft a quarterback. In my opinion, I believe Houston will make it a priority to draft a quarterback. Put themselves in a position to where next year. If they want to go the free agent route and let go of Brock, they can do it.

[Mike Wright]

And Brock, for those who are wondering, Brock is going to be there next year. They can cut him after that and absorb that cap hit. But there you can't cut him next year.

[Andy Holloway]

You're saying this upcoming season.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah. For 2017, Brock Osler will be on the Texas.

[Andy Holloway]

So a quarterback comes into one of these situations. You know, look at Buffalo, right? If, for example, if they cut Tyrod Taylor, they free up the cap space, they can sign a guy like Tony Romo instantaneously. Sammy Watkins becomes a fantasy football discussion point for the entirety of the offseason.

[Mike Wright]

Yes.

[Andy Holloway]

You finally pair Sammy Watkins with a prototypical passing quarterback, a team that's all right. And you give him an opportunity. Are there other circumstances you can see here? I mean, the jets, right? The jets are one of those teams where, look, you have Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker and Quincy and Unwa. These are players that are going to be directly affected by the quarterback play.

[Jason Moore]

Yes.

[Mike Wright]

And I agree. And I was talking about the Broncos. You have. Oh yeah, Emmanuel Sanders and the Mary's Thomas. They both still, they managed to get over 1,000 yards with Simeon. But will they, will they pick up a guy like Romo and ride him out for a year or two while they have Paxton lynch getting ready?

[Andy Holloway]

It's interesting because I look, this is a free agency preview show. We're kind of giving you the lay of the land so you can pay attention what's going on around the NFL during the next couple of months. But I want to ask the question, do you have a prediction on where Tony Romo goes? Because I have my prediction for Romo. I think he'll end up in New.

[Mike Wright]

York as a Jet.

[Andy Holloway]

I believe he'll end up as a Jet. I believe he goes to afc. I believe he can play a year or two there. They have kind of a. A team that's more prepared to win. Now, you know, obviously with a forte, with a Marshall, Decker, that age group on offense, they were a team only one year removed from fighting for the playoffs. Maybe they tried to replicate the magic Fitzpatrick gave him two years ago. That's my guess for Romo. Now it's just a guess.

[Mike Wright]

To me it's Broncos. The Broncos have a championship defense. They have championship caliber wide receivers. You just. Trevor Simeon was okay, but if you had Tony Romo as the quarterback on that team last year, they would have made some serious noise in the playoffs.

[Andy Holloway]

Jason, do you have any thought for Romo or you side on either of those teams?

[Jason Moore]

I do side on the Denver Broncos side. Now we know John Elway has come out and said that they're committed to the current quarterbacks they have and that that's the competition they want to keep, but I just can't. I can't imagine that that's true. If Tony Romo can come there, you have. Your super bowl window is wide open. You can win a Super bowl with that team this year and probably next year. You're not going to give that up. And we saw him move on from people that, you know, they. That the Broncos were committed to when Peyton Manning became available. So I do lean the side of the Broncos right now.

[Andy Holloway]

All right, Anybody else at the quarterback position you gentlemen want to discuss before we talk about available running back free agents?

[Jason Moore]

I am still. Count me just a little bit curious about what Geno Smith can do. I actually wanted to see him with the jets last year. Every time he's gotten the opportunity, he's gotten immediately injured and not been able to play into it. I still think he is actually a decent quarterback. At least, I mean, better than a lot of the garbage that's out there. Andy shaking his head.

[Andy Holloway]

I just don't agree whatsoever.

[Jason Moore]

Curious.

[Andy Holloway]

I'd much rather see Mike Glennon have the opportunity.

[Jason Moore]

Oh, me too. Mike Lennon is a good quarterback.

[Mike Wright]

What we know about Gino is. Or maybe you don't know this. You don't realize this. You're mixing up how he's. It feels like he's had a bad NFL career. He's been fine for fantasy football.

[Jason Moore]

Yes.

[Mike Wright]

When he plays.

[Andy Holloway]

Right. Yeah. Which has been very limited. Yeah, I know.

[Mike Wright]

Small sample size was just saying he's. When he's given the chance. He's a great, great streamer.

[Andy Holloway]

All right. We have a ton of available running backs this off season, but how many of them really make a fantasy impact? You know, Le'Veon Bell is technically a free agent. The likelihood is that will be franchise tag.

[Mike Wright]

He's a free agent like Kirk Cousins is a free agent.

[Andy Holloway]

But you do have a couple of restricted free agents. Isaiah Crowell is 24 years old. He's a restricted free agent this year. You wonder if he'll be brought back into Cleveland or not. Cleveland has two picks in the first 13 in the NFL draft this year. If they don't utilize one of those two picks on a quarterback, I would not be surprised if they utilize it on a running day, the set.

[Mike Wright]

Well, the second one, you can't. You can't spend that high.

[Andy Holloway]

Not the first one.

[Mike Wright]

Right.

[Andy Holloway]

The second one, if it's not a quarterback, it's a possibility that they draft a running back. Mike Gillislee, 26 years old, had a good year last year backing up Lashawn McCoy. Christian Michael is somehow 26 and been.

[Jason Moore]

On every franchise Latavius Murray.

[Andy Holloway]

Let's talk about Murray.

[Jason Moore]

Probably one of the biggest guys that is out there as far. He's only 27, so he's still in his prime. He's had two back to back good years, had double digit touchdowns this year. And it looks from some of the beat writers around the Oakland area that they are set to move on from Latavius Murray. So when you look at who is really the beat big prize of the running back free agency this year, it probably is going to be Latavius Murray from the list of free agents available. So which team do you view him as a prize? I do and I think he'll get paid like a prize. To be honest, I think he'll be marketed like a prize. If you're a franchise out there, somebody like Indianapolis maybe, maybe Indy does. Indy has a ton of cap space. They their top five this year for available cap space. So if they wanted to make a run at a younger guy, that being said, he's, you know, he's 27. They've already got the 30 plus running back.

[Mike Wright]

If I have Latavius Murray in Dynasty, I'm shopping him right now. I'm trying to get some value. I think that, I think if he doesn't return to Oakland with that offensive line, I think his value is going to tank or his production for fantasy will tank.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah, you know, Murray is an interesting case to me. I agree with you. I also think a place that he could have success in would be to go to someplace like New England. If LeGarrett blunt doesn't come back in New England. You know, they flirted with Matt Forte last off season. I think Latavius Murray is the guy that he's been fairly reliable from a, you know, down to down. For a carry perspective, he's only had 1,000 yard season.

[Jason Moore]

He can also catch the ball, which means he's another tool to be used in Bill Belichick system. They I think that that's legitimate.

[Andy Holloway]

I think that's a good destination. I actually think he'll be back in Oakland. I don't know if the market for Latavis Murray is going to be there or not.

[Jason Moore]

Here's the thing about running back market and why it's sad to be a running back in the NFL. This is a very, very, very deep running back draft class. The 2017 running back draft class. There's a ton of available running backs. And when I look at the teams who need a running back, it's like yeah, they could use one. You know, they could Add one, the Colts aren't getting any younger with Frank.

[Andy Holloway]

Gore and the Vikings, Adrian Peterson. And he may not even be there if he is. He's 31.

[Jason Moore]

But supply and demand just says you can get a running back much easier than a running back can get a payday.

[Andy Holloway]

And you have, you can go get a guy like, you know, that's 22 years old like Paul Perkins is this year where the Giants don't have to go out and spend big money because they went and they invested in the draft last year potentially the packers might be in need, right. Eddie Lacy's a free agent.

[Mike Wright]

Places I'm excited for running to.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah, that's a good discussion to see.

[Mike Wright]

Where running backs land. Washington if they make the choice that they want to get a guy frontline to frontline instead of Rob Kelly. I like Rob Kelly next year if he's the guy. But it wouldn't shock me if they go out. Chris Thompson is a free agent.

[Andy Holloway]

They have Keith Marshall coming back but he's a fifth round guy.

[Mike Wright]

Just I think he was a seventh round guy if I'm not mistaken. But I think that Washington, Washington's offense is legitimate and if they have a running back weapon, I think he would be great for fantasy purposes. The Eagles is a very interesting spot. One because there's a lot of big question marks to me of if they get a guy or will they ever commit to just one running back. We saw what they were doing. Matthews, who we know, I like Ryan Matthews, I thought he was effective but he didn't get a ton of playtime. Sproules, Wendell Smallwood, I mean they had a lot of guys Barner, they had a lot of guys there for the Eagles. So if they went and paid up for a free agent or something, would he become a three down guy for Doug Peterson?

[Jason Moore]

The teams, the teams that excite me and I'm going to throw the Steelers out if they don't franchise love Bell. That would be the most exciting. But assuming that doesn't happen, the teams that excite me the most would be the Panthers. They are a running, running, running team that has all off season said that they can't have their quarterback be their leading rusher. And if they went out and got a stud, they have the capital to do that in the draft. That would excite me. I also think the Ravens, the Ravens have always been a successful team by running the ball. I think they have their guy in Kenneth Dixon, but it doesn't, doesn't sound.

[Mike Wright]

Like they think he's the guy exactly.

[Jason Moore]

You know, the things coming out of there seem like they're still looking for a superstar running back to come and replace the old Ray Rice days. And if they go out and get someone that they invest high in, then I'm excited about that proposition. Those are the two teams to me that really stick out. And I'm going to throw a 1/3 team out there if Jamal Charles leaves, which is a very good possibility for the Chiefs. I think that is. That is a team to me that a running back coming in there would be very successful. Andy Reid's always had good running backs.

[Andy Holloway]

You know, you had a situation with Rashad Jennings cut this past week that puts him into that free agent pool. There'll be more guys like that. Mike just brought up Ryan Matthews. If for some reason they don't bring Ryan Matthews back, there's going to be.

[Mike Wright]

Another guy to me who will be joining the free agent pool. But he has a three game suspension coming up. Douglas Martin, I fully expect him to be cut and which makes Tampa Bay another very interesting place to be, an.

[Andy Holloway]

Attractive place to go.

[Mike Wright]

Jock whiz is not under contract. Do they want to bring him back?

[Andy Holloway]

Charles Only 27 years old, by the way. Jeff Wiz, so it feels like he's 38.

[Mike Wright]

It's not terrible to me if Tampa Bay wants to bring him back. I don't think that's an awful idea.

Other free agents of note. Danny Woodhead's a free agent. Eddie Lacy.

What about Andre Ellington? Do you think he's got anything left?

[Andy Holloway]

Andre Ellington can go be Bobby Rainey someplace, the same way Rainey was in New York this year. That's about all I see for him. 28 years old, been through a lot of injury problems. Certainly not frontline. Rex Burkhead, Chris Thompson. Darren McFadden's a free agent. He feels like he's 38, but he's only 29. Lance Dunbar, Legara Blunt. He wants to resign with the Patriots. I wouldn't be surprised if they brought him back. It's. The recipe has been pretty nice for that backfield with Legarett Blunt being able to, you know, 18 touchdowns. Yes. And you could probably still get a bargain on him. So let's talk about some wide receivers. Now, wide receivers, there are big names available, right? Alshon, Jeffrey. Alshon. Jeffrey's available?

[Mike Wright]

Yeah.

[Andy Holloway]

Charl Pryor. I saw a report today the Browns are talking to Terrell Pryor's age. He's a. He's a player that I don't think anybody would have expected a thousand plus yard season from Terrell Pryor, converted quarterback Kenny. Brett Deshaun Jackson. Pierre Garcon, Kenny stills, only 24 years old. Taylor Gabriel, a restricted free agent. Josh Gordon.

[Mike Wright]

Let's talk about Josh Gordon.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah, let's just talk about him every off season, no matter what he's doing. Let's bring him up.

[Mike Wright]

There are some. Some really, really interesting guys here who are going to be moving around. Alshon, to me, is still the biggest acquisition possible. He's 27, but I. And seemingly can't stay healthy. But we do have a couple years of data where he was healthy and he was elite.

[Jason Moore]

You know where I want to see Alshon Jeffrey go? And they have the cap space to get him. They need a number two. And I love Alshon Jeffrey as a would be the Cincinnati Bengals against AJ Green. If you give Andy, never in a.

[Andy Holloway]

Million years will that happen.

[Mike Wright]

Why?

[Andy Holloway]

Because you can't. He's gonna. You're gonna have to pay Ashton Jeffries too much money.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah.

[Andy Holloway]

There's no way in the world that.

He ever has hard to pay two. He's gonna be top wide receivers.

Jeffrey's gonna be paid like a frontline guy. I mean, there's just no bones about it. They, you know, I love the hypothetical, but it's unrealistic to me because that's like saying, you know, let's. Who's Atlanta? Bring them to Atlanta. You know, like, I just don't see it happening.

[Jason Moore]

They need. They. I think they desperately need another good wide receiver there. So who would be a wide receiver that's a free agent right now that they could afford that?

[Andy Holloway]

You're talking about Cincinnati.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah.

[Andy Holloway]

To pair with AJ Green. I mean, I. I think you're going to see improvements with Tyler Boyd. With Tyler Boyd in the second year. If I'm looking at this list. And a guy you could pair.

[Mike Wright]

Garcon.

[Andy Holloway]

Garcon. I mean, Garcon is going to get. You know, he represents that Anquan Bolden ass.

[Mike Wright]

I was just going to say Garcon is bolden.

[Andy Holloway]

He's the most similar to income Bolden of anybody in NFL. You know that. That's what you do. I think in Cincinnati. To me, Jeffrey going to Philly makes the most sense in the world. From a fantasy perspective. Carson Wentz needs a frontline guy. Nobody on that team has taken the reins over the past two years whatsoever. So Jeffrey instantly becomes that weapon. We know what he can do. Even with a mediocre quarterback situation and double coverage. He's humongous. He's not this is not. Who am I thinking of? Marvin Jones. This is not Marvin Jones moving teams.

[Mike Wright]

Right.

[Andy Holloway]

This is. This is a much better player than Marvin Jones. This is somebody who has proven that he can be more than just a red zone talent. So Philly's my number one hope for Jeffrey. From a fantasy perspective or staying in.

[Mike Wright]

Chicago, I don't think that Chicago is going to keep him.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah.

[Mike Wright]

So, I mean, Chicago's going to have to do something because a lot of their guys are currently free agents.

[Jason Moore]

I'll throw out one other spot that I think would be good for him to land. I'm looking at teams that can afford him, that have the cap space and need that number one. You're right. Philly's a great destination.

[Andy Holloway]

By the way. Real quick, Alshon, Jeffrey, last off season, do you know how much money they offered him that he turned down per season?

[Jason Moore]

How much?

[Andy Holloway]

12 million.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah.

12 million a year. Turned down by Jeffrey last offseason. He's not going to get.

[Jason Moore]

That makes sense. I mean, Garcon, Garcon.

You can go get him. Eight to nine. Yeah.

But the Tennessee Titans, if they don't want to spend one of those high, you know, draft picks that they have on a wide receiver, they need. I love Rashad Matthews. I think he's a better player than most people think, but he's not a. An absolute one to pair with Mark's Mariota. They could really use a guy like Al Shawn.

[Mike Wright]

I don't hate it.

[Jason Moore]

They have the cap space to do it. They've got plenty of capital this year to make moves.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah. You've been talking about Tennessee getting a wide receiver for a while because they need one. You think so?

[Mike Wright]

Yes, I. Very much. I mean, Kendall Wright is. He's going to be gone. Oh, sure.

But Delaney Walker, who is basically served as a wide receiver for that team, he's old. I mean, his, his, his elite playing days are going to come to a crashing end very soon.

[Andy Holloway]

They believe, I think Matthews and Tajie Sharp. They believe in Tajie Sharp.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah.

[Andy Holloway]

And I believe in Tajie Sharp for. I mean, you had a rookie come in. He still made an impact. But I probably agree with the fact he's, you know, he doesn't project.

[Jason Moore]

They don't have a one.

[Andy Holloway]

A one?

[Mike Wright]

Yeah.

[Jason Moore]

And they have a quarterback that needs.

[Andy Holloway]

They have a fantasy one, maybe, but not a. Yeah. I mean, Richard Matthews last year, sure.

[Mike Wright]

Oh, yeah.

[Andy Holloway]

Second half.

But I mean, if you look the year, the year Prior as well with most of the same wide receivers that they've got around. They didn't have a top 50 wide receiver for fantasy.

[Andy Holloway]

No, you've convinced me. Adam Thielen is a free agent.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah. A lot of the guys on Minnesota. Chicago is a problem. So does Minnesota. Thielen, Charles Johnson, Corduroy Patterson. There's going to be an extreme makeover edition of the Vikings wide receiver corps.

[Andy Holloway]

You know, there's a pretty good rookie drafted there.

[Jason Moore]

If only they went and took a top flight rookie.

[Andy Holloway]

They did draft a, they did draft a pretty good player.

[Mike Wright]

Treadwell could certainly still become that. But wow.

[Jason Moore]

You.

[Andy Holloway]

I just think it was almost a red shirt year for Treadwell.

[Jason Moore]

It wasn't like he failed with his opportunity. I mean he didn't get opportunity.

[Andy Holloway]

Treadwell, Diggs and Thielen make for a great wide receiving core for that team.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah.

[Andy Holloway]

If they, if they were to bring Thielen back. Still young, 26 years old, very impressive to me. I was impressed with Thielen's skills. Let's talk about Terrell Pryor. You think he's back in Cleveland?

[Jason Moore]

He wants to be back in Cleveland. Now some of the people that are around Cleveland seem like, like player wise. People don't seem to love Terrell Powell.

[Mike Wright]

No, they do not.

[Jason Moore]

But I do expect him to be back in Cleveland. They have the most cap available of any team. He's already there. He's proved last year he was a centerpiece of their offense when they had any combination of quarterbacks that could throw the ball to a wide receiver, which was rare.

[Andy Holloway]

Okay.

[Jason Moore]

He looked like a, like a beast. And I expect that he will sign there considering he wants to be there and they have the cap space to sign him.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah. Prior and Coleman, that's not a bad wide receiving foundation for a new quarterback to come in there, have an opportunity. Still got Barnage there too. Josh Gordon will be gone. Desean Jackson. Let's talk about desean Jackson. Possible destinations. He says he'd like to resign, but money talks and desean walks for money. So I, you know, he doesn't want to move.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah.

[Jason Moore]

According to his words, he wants Washington to pay them a lot of money. And I don't think Washington is going to pay him the money that he can get on the free agent open market.

[Andy Holloway]

If the Jackson garcon leave though, you're putting, I mean you have Josh Dockson coming off an injury.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah.

[Andy Holloway]

You have Jordan Reed at the tight end position. You have Jameson Crowder. Crowder. It's a which so they, they're that's a draft. I mean, they will need it. You know what that is to me, that, that would be more of a free agent pickup. They could be a team that goes out and signs a Robert Woods.

[Mike Wright]

I was just gonna say, Robert, we are in sync.

[Andy Holloway]

We are in sync with these destinations.

[Jason Moore]

How in the world is Robert woods only 24 years old?

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah.

[Jason Moore]

I have seen him as like he should be 28.

[Andy Holloway]

Let me say this. Robert woods has always passed the eye testament. You talk two seasons ago, Quincy and Nuno, right. He passed the eye test to me. Robert woods has always passed the eye test to me. You talk about a guy to go to Cincinnati and be a perfect compliment. A guy that is super. He's got consistent hands. To me, Robert Woods, I can't believe he's only 24 years old. That's shocking to me. I didn't realize that.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah.

[Andy Holloway]

I think he may be one of the better wide receiver bargains. Now you're not talking about a guy that can be a number one and from a fantasy perspective, you know, but he's not relevant. But a guy that's 600 yards, here's how he's 80 plus catches in three or four years. In 74 last year.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah. Here's how he's very relevant. He's not a relevant player that you need to draft and start, but he is very relevant for the quarterback that plays.

[Andy Holloway]

I agree.

[Jason Moore]

If he goes to Cincinnati, that, that bumps up Andy Dalton to me. He's going to help the whole offense and be one of those important pieces.

[Andy Holloway]

He entered the NFL at 20.

[Jason Moore]

Wow.

[Andy Holloway]

That's why he feels like he's, he's older than he is. Who else do we want to talk about? A wide receiver, you know, Kenny Britt.

[Jason Moore]

Love him or hate him and I love him. He's a talented wide receiver. He had his first thousand yard season last year and it seems like for some strange reason the Rams don't want to resign him. I know he's, you know, he was a Jeff Fisher guy and he's maybe not the sharpest tool in the shed from what we saw.

[Andy Holloway]

He's enormous. That's his biggest attribute. Yeah, he's huge. He's a pretty good receiver.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah. I'd like to see him go to some team that can air it out.

[Andy Holloway]

Only 28 years old, he could be another bargain. He, you know, I think he made $4 million last year. You have some under the table names, you know, some Ted Gins and Kamara Akins and Brandon Lafels. Our Free agents this year. Very interesting when those, you know, Terrence Williams, he's a free agent. I not. I'm saying it more from, you know, hey, that's who steps into the role.

[Jason Moore]

Butler.

[Mike Wright]

Bryce.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah, Bryce Butler. I think he's a free agent.

[Jason Moore]

They are, but they're not going to resign. I expect that they'll resign Butler and let Williams go.

[Andy Holloway]

They're both 27. Isn't that funny? Don't you think of Williams as older? They're both 27.

[Jason Moore]

I think a butler is way younger than 27.

[Andy Holloway]

I know Kenny Stills is. Kenny Sills is only 24 years old. Mike's favorite player. I'm surprised he's not your Valentine each and every day. Like you wake up in the morning and roll over and you say, hey, Kenny, he's very good.

[Jason Moore]

Kamara Aiken is a free agent.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah. Yeah. I'm not excited about Michael Floyd. 27 years old. Ho hum. And I think his days have come and gone.

[Mike Wright]

I mean, he'll know he will go to a team, but he's not ancillary piece. He's not. He will never live up to that. He's a top 15 pick.

[Jason Moore]

No, no, he won't. He's a perfect replacement. If he wants to go to Cincinnati to replace Brandon Lafell. He can get down the field, he can drop some passes. I mean that's. That's what Michael Floyd is, is Brandon lafell.

[Andy Holloway]

Is there one team that you are extremely excited about the possibility of them picking up a frontline wide receiver? Is there one team that you say it's a plug and play? This is Ezekieli being drafted by the. By the Cowboys last year, but instead it is, it is Alison Jeffrey Landing. I mean, is there some team that you're just. Let's say you're all prior leaves. Is there somebody you want to see go to Cleveland and dominate?

[Jason Moore]

That's a good one.

[Andy Holloway]

Oh, sorry, sorry.

[Mike Wright]

Cleveland.

[Andy Holloway]

I guess Tennessee really is a. With how Mariota's played, they're a team that comes to mind for sure. Philly. You know, we talked about Philly.

[Jason Moore]

I mean, it's going to be as good as the quarterback is.

[Andy Holloway]

St. Louis.

[Mike Wright]

Well, they don't have a football team.

[Jason Moore]

That is true.

[Andy Holloway]

Have you ever been there though? I have actually.

The golden arches. Yeah.

This is a team where. I'll throw this out. They're not considered in this list that we've been talking about because they have wide receivers yet. I don't think that they have a true, number one dynamic wide receiver that they need. That's the Carolina Panthers. I mean, you would. They have funches, bunches of funches, and there's now Kelvin Benjamin, But I don't think those guys are elite.

[Andy Holloway]

Let me tell you something that's going to happen to break your heart. Okay?

[Mike Wright]

Okay.

[Andy Holloway]

Alshon's going to leave Chicago. You're going to have this little love affair for the summer, just a fling running through the meadows with Cameron Meredith in tow, maybe for a couple of weeks. They're going to sign somebody, and it's not going to be front line, top of the line, Sean Jackson, but they're going to sign somebody that's going to nerf Cameron Meredith's value next year. That's my prediction. It's very possible they're going to go out and they'll spend the money on, I don't know, somebody like hypothetical, like a Prior or a Floyd or a Brit, and then we're going to all go, oh, man, who's going to catch the ball in Chicago?

[Jason Moore]

Well, let me tell you a similar story that I think is going to happen, and you guys will very much disagree with. I think that there's another team with a lot of cap space that needs a wide receiver. And the love affair this offseason is going to be too high with a wide receiver that I already know is, in my opinion, too high. Not that I don't like him, but we're talking. He's up with the big Three now, and that's Mike Evans. But the Buccaneers with Jameis Winston, they need another good wide receiver. They have the capital to do it. Vincent Jackson is.

[Mike Wright]

He's gone.

[Jason Moore]

Dead.

[Andy Holloway]

Oh, come on.

[Jason Moore]

I just mean for the NFL. He's done. For the NFL. He's gone. He is. Rest in peace, NFL career.

[Mike Wright]

Gene Hackman, where he's not.

[Jason Moore]

Actually, I'm so happy that Gene Hackman lives.

[Andy Holloway]

All right, good. I'm happy again. But I do think the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one of those destinations you throw out where it's. Where's a great destination to land. I want a quarterback that's going to air out the ball who can get a good down the field pass. And they've got a big opening there because last year it was the perfect, you know, event of Vincent Jackson going down and a change over at tight end. And, you know, they tested other pieces and they clearly said we need another big wide receiver from that testing.

[Andy Holloway]

I think the most important tight end on that list is Jared Cook. And that he resigns, I believe. You know, he missed so much of this past season, but you could see in the playoffs in the last stretch of the year how important he was to Aaron Rodgers. I think that the packers will resign him and I think that he will be a fantasy relevant tight end in.

[Mike Wright]

2020. Who will be Jared Cook? Maybe.

[Andy Holloway]

Well, for the first time in his career.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah. Yes, correct. I think for the first time in his career, he'll be a fantasy relevant for the whole season. He'll have his off games because he's Jared Cook. He'll disappear a couple times, but he'll be all right.

[Andy Holloway]
