And speaking of which, we've got some news and notes from around the league I wanted to talk about before we get into today's show, which will be we're going to talk mostly about free agent tight ends, some quarterbacks. Some quarterbacks. Kind of a nasty crop of quarterbacks. But there's some implications there in the fantasy world for who they, what teams are leaving and what that means for their other guys as well. But the news I want to talk about first, here is Mr. ADP number one right now.

Oh yeah.

Le'Veon Bell.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah, the, the news I, I'm hearing is not the most flattering. Now we're talking about a maximum of a four game suspension. People seem to have forgotten because he had such a monster year. They forgot the year started with him being arrested with his Compadre Legare blunt in a unflattering situation.

[Andy Holloway]

In a blunt situation.

[Mike the Fantasy Hitman]

And last year that dropped his draft stock in that first round. I remember it was delicious. Andy Holloway and both of you guys recommending not to drop the draft stock because you knew he wouldn't be suspended last year because based on NFL history. But now, now he will be missing some games.

[Andy Holloway]

Yes. And it to me it's still likely that he misses two. But the implication for four game because first timers on the substance abuse policy, it's a flat two game suspension.

[Mike the Fantasy Hitman]

Correct.

[Andy Holloway]

But when you're caught with multiple substances there's the potential to go to four. And because marijuana is illegal in Pennsylvania, he also had the alcohol. There's the potential for a four game suspension.

[Jason Moore]

It's not just he got busted for the pot, it's because he got arrested for a dui.

[Mike the Fantasy Hitman]

Yeah.

[Jason Moore]

So it's a double, double substance, double trouble.

[Andy Holloway]

So what does that mean to this ADP1 overall guy right now? If he give me, give me the scenarios. If he goes a two game or a four game, where is he change in your first round? Because I'm guessing he doesn't drop out of your first round.

[Jason Moore]

Unlikely two game. I draft him as usual and I figure out what to do for two games. Four games, that's, that's a lot different though. I mean that's 25% of your.

[Andy Holloway]

Well, it's more than that. It's a third of the season for a lot of, a lot of leagues. Because you're talking about the fantasy playoffs. So 12 game season. Nobody likes this.

[Mike the Fantasy Hitman]

I'm actually surprised to see him ADP number one. Knowing the two game suspension. You know, he's great. I love him. He's going to put up numbers but you have no clue who's going to finish number one. You never know for sure any of these guys. And there's a handful of guys that are all worthy of being able to finish number one. You know for a fact that he will miss two games. You know for a fact that will hinder him finishing number one. So why take that risk?

[Jason Moore]

I think it's because he's just so.

[Andy Holloway]

Versatile and demarco situation too. I mean if demarco's locked in and Dallas, I think he can, he could have usurped Le'Veon ADP wise already.

[Jason Moore]

Oh yeah.

[Andy Holloway]

You know what I mean.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah. I agree that if we knew for sure he was going back. But Bell is just responsible for so much of that offense. He is the reason he's the Engine of why it moves. And he, he helps Antonio Brown, he helps Big Ben, he.

[Andy Holloway]

Plus, that's just what you see in fantasy football. The guy from last year. This number one is the number one guy this year.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah. If I'm drafting him, let's say I have the first pick and I take Bell. It's not necessarily. I believe he's going to finish as the first running back because historically speaking it's just unlikely. However, I consider him to be safe to be. To finish in a top five position, which is what I really want. If I had three, we've talked about that. I don't want to blow it.

[Andy Holloway]

That's exactly your goal. Your goal, as a piece of advice, your goal is to draft a guy who has the highest chance of finishing in the top five. You're not going to guarantee, like Jason said, you know, nobody repeats unless you're Ladanian Tomlinson most often. But a guy like Jamal Charles, you know, somebody who has a track record. We talked about Demarys Thomas in the wide receivers last week. Guys who has a track record of finishing in the top three, that's what you want. You don't want to miss the boat completely. Other news, we also have. We talked about it being franchise day. It is early in the morning here on March 2nd, so we haven't heard the franchise news, but all indications are that Demarys Thomas and Des Bryant will be franchised today.

[Jason Moore]

Thomas, they came out and they said he's getting tagged for sure.

[Mike the Fantasy Hitman]

Done deal.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah, the. Des is. I mean, that's got to be what, a 99% chance?

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah, I mean they basically, I think came out and said all indications are that he's being.

[Jason Moore]

I'm still waiting on that video today. Oh, imminent. The release of the video.

The Florio is imminent. Wow.

What are the implications on his draft position if he's got a video that's been extorted?

If the video has disappeared already.

I'm just. Yeah, I'm just joking because it's ridiculous because he's. We don't know anything. Yeah, we don't know anything except for the fact that Dallas probably wants leverage in a long term contract deal. Is he, Is he a first Round wide receiver to me.

[Jason Moore]

Yes.

Oh, let's talk about Roy. Hello. For a second. Okay. Because last week. No, no, no, no. This is Roy. Hello. Because last week I got the business from both of you when I. When you weren't listening, when you said I wasn't listening, but you brought up Roy Hulu as being a very poor pass. Blocker. And then I. Apparently, I could swear that was Jock.

Was Rogers.

No, it was Roy who. You weren't listening either. And. And I told him, I go, well, yeah, you know, he had just said, roy, who's a terrible pass blocker. And I go, yeah, he's a wonderful pass blocker. He's really great. That's what the value. So he was, I guess, 49th last year, but I insisted to him that he had been a top pass blocker. And so what did you find out?

I found out that he was the number 49 pass blocker last year and the year before. The year before, he was number three overall.

[Andy Holloway]

So somewhere in the recesses of my halloo brain, I was right. Ish. Right. Ish. Other news for you, it's conceded that DeMarco's hitting the open market.

[Jason Moore]

Yes.

[Mike the Fantasy Hitman]

Hitting it, not necessarily leading.

[Andy Holloway]

And his ADP is dropping right now. Not crazily, but you're talking about. He was kind of fourth. Fourth, fifth in the first round. And he's dropped a couple spots. Obviously where he lands is humongous to his value. And we think it's not Dallas. We think it's Dallas. I mean, I kind of wonder how much money he's going to get elsewhere.

[Mike the Fantasy Hitman]

I still think it's Dallas. You know, the only reason I don't see him going back to Dallas is if AP becomes completely available and obtainable by the Cowboys. Because I think the Cowboys want ap, but it doesn't look like the Vikings are going to cut him. And to trade him, he'd want probably too much money than Dallas can pay. So I still think DeMarco Murray ends up back in Dallas. He tests the free agent market, free agent market's not going to be that great. And he's going to come back at a sad amount of money for him and great for the Cowboys.

[Andy Holloway]

Let me ask the hitman a question.

Yes, sir.

La'Veon Bell or DeMarco Murray back in Dallas right now.

[Jason Moore]

Oh. Who if.

Who do you take between them? If Murray's back in Dallas and you had the pick between the two, you're sitting there on the clock. You're. I know at number one, you'd take Eddie Lacy right now.

[Jason Moore]

That is actually. That's true.

But if you. If you had to choose between these two, if it's.

If it's today, I guess you have to go Murray just to be safe on. Because I'm spending a top pick and I'm scared of the four games. But if it's two games for Le'Veon.

Bell, you go back to Levy.

[Jason Moore]

I probably still take Bell because of the. The amount of carries that DeMarco Murray saw and touches last year is just ridiculous.

[Mike the Fantasy Hitman]

I'm more scared of DeMarco Murray's body than I am Le'Veon Bell's suspension. For that reason, I would go Le'Veon.

[Jason Moore]

Bell over to Marco Murray and I was. I was terrified for Murray. Every. Every single week I was expecting an injury to pop up. So add in the mileage. It's. I understand. I've never tried to take away from his talents. It's just a. I want my guy on the field. And Murray. Murray hasn't really done that except for last year and he did it way too much, I guess.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah, we should. We should start a service for buy in fantasy football leagues where people can buy player insurance against players like Murray.

[Mike the Fantasy Hitman]

Murray would go very high then.

[Andy Holloway]

Yes. Big news, guys. I don't know. Hold on to something if you can.

When I was like a Teenager. I watched him play for the Cardinals at Sun Devil Stadium before they even had a new stadium. He was the starting quarterback. That seems like a generation ago.

I forget that's the same Josh McCall.

I know it's got to be some different guy, right?

[Jason Moore]

I have. I have a strong memory of having a conversation with my dad of can Josh McCowan be the guy? And I was just a young pup and I'm like, yeah, Josh McCowan, you can do it.

Eight year old hitman.

[Jason Moore]

I was very wrong.

[Andy Holloway]

That's because it was 2002. That's why you talk that way. 2002. He was a Cardinal man.

[Jason Moore]

But his career is really admirable and fascinating of you go from out of the league. He thinks he's done. He's, I believe was.

[Andy Holloway]

Didn't play in 06, didn't play in 2010.

[Jason Moore]

And he was a. I think a high school coach and was doing some teaching. Gets a call from the Bears that says, hey, you know, we want you to come try out. He talks to his wife and decides, okay, I'll do it. Ends up as the. As the backup comes in. When Cutler goes out with a monster year, the Tressman system, does he send loyalties?

[Andy Holloway]

Does he send royalties to Mike? Trust me.

[Jason Moore]

And then. So that one year got him the starting gig in Tampa Bay where. How much did he make? Like, I think it was $5 million. And I believe he's gonna make another $5 million in the Browns. So he should at least send Trustman at least a million dollars.

[Mike the Fantasy Hitman]

Hey, it's been a crazy career. And honestly, when you look at the free agent crop and you look at Cleveland situation, why wouldn't you want Josh McCann starting?

[Mike the Fantasy Hitman]

Oh, yeah, he's the starter there. I think Josh McCown starts week one. Calling it now.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah, I completely agree. He's. He is there to try and help stabilize Johnny Clown. Clown. Zell. I mean.

Oh, man, you're off. You're off the Johnny.

I was very incorrect on his Donnie Clown show. His moral fiber, however. And this is why you go with McCown over Hoyer. Hoyer. Hoyer doesn't give a crap about Johnny Manziel. He's delighting. As much as one can take delight in the fall of the first round quarterback. McCown's gonna come in. He'll play his One year and Well, I mean with a guy with that teaching background that's perfect to have to have him.

He's smarter than. Yeah, he's been around the block. He's played under good quarterbacks in different systems.

But most importantly, now we can discuss the free agency of Brian Hoyer who is now Bills like.

How sad and how slighted is Rex Ryan for missing out on the Josh McGowan sweepstakes.

Yeah. Seriously, that's ridiculous. Those guys, the jets and Buffalo. I'm really curious to see what those coaches do at the quarterback position because they're both good coaches. They're both defensive minded coaches. Which one ends up with a better mediocre quarterback?

I think Mariota slips past them and I Think that they trade up but into the teens and give less.

Well, let's talk about the implications fantasy wise on if Mario lands in Philly, because this could be the one situation. I mean that because of the offense, the system, the player, the knowledge base of the offense already some of the things you shortcut when you come and you play for your college coach, the guy you almost based your offense around, he to me has, you know, kind of RG3 year one fantasy potential potentially at a value if the hype train doesn't go nuts, if he gets signed there.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah.

Can Mariota give you fantasy numbers?

[Jason Moore]

Yeah.

[Andy Holloway]

I don't know how much you guys watched Oregon, but, you know, a little bit.

[Jason Moore]

But I like my quarterbacks late, so I mean, I have a couple guys where I'm targeting Eli Manning and Joe Flacco to be. To get them, you know, ninth, tenth round. Let's say something somehow implodes. I don't mind going week one with Mariota if he's on. If he's on the Eagles, of course, just give it a ride and I mean then you can just stream and find another option. But I don't mind taking him really late and seeing how it works out.

[Mike the Fantasy Hitman]

I've never had an opinion like I do on Mariota where I think whether it's year one or year ten, Mariota is a good NFL quarterback on the Eagles and a bad NFL quarterback anywhere else. I've never felt like that ever. So it's a weird Kelly fan and.

But Mark Sanchez, if he's gone. We just talked about Mariota's situation. If Mariota doesn't go there, it's probably Foles again in Philly. What. Who's Nick Foles? I mean, what is he. He had that, that kind of great year where he wasn't turning the ball over.

Well, if you really watched what was happening, I think that was just a, A lot of luck built into that because he was still making. He was still making throws that he should not. He was just getting a. Getting that fluke dropped continuously from the, the defense. But I, I think Foles is a good quarterback. I don't know if he's great, but he has to carry value, especially if they're, I mean they are trying to move up. You're going to. What do you do with Foles? You can't, you can't take a guy with.

He's part of that trade. Probably.

Maybe. I mean I don't know if the jets want him for the, for the system that they. That chengily runs, but you can't have a guy with that experience, with that amount of success and just put him on the bench and get nothing for him. You got to use that, that chip and cash it into at least something.

So let's say he's, he's back in Philly. Mariota is nowhere to be found. Who do you like between say a Flacco or, or Foles?

I still, I'm gonna go with the offense system there and I'll go with Foals.

Foals will, will cost more on draft day. So that's why I would go with Flacco and I have, I have that weird, that weird butterflies in my stomach for Joe Flacco this year.

Okay, so if Mark Sanchez goes to the Bills, what value does he have? Does he have any. I mean you got a much.

He's got Ryan Fitzpatrick Bills value from like a few years ago.

It was brutal. It was a brutal play that just totally illustrated the entire jets team in one play. So free agents that we have here are McCown, Sanchez, Brian Hoyer we talked about. Jake Locker is a free agent and Ryan Mallett is a free agent. Is there anything of interest to talk about here? I mean Mettenberger, if Locker's gone, he's the starter yes. If they don't draft.

Yeah, I think they're going to roll Mettenberger to say that the one thing, the one, I guess rumor floated. Maybe not even just a rumor, just a. Trying to connect the dots. Interest is if Chicago, because Chicago is not getting behind Jay Cutler with anything they have to say he is. He has a very difficult contract to do anything with. You can't cut him because your. Your dead money is just not worth the. Not worth the return and trading him. I mean who's gonna take on that contract besides a team like a Buffalo? If for some reason Rex Ryan thought they were very close, you would, you would pay the price to bring in a quarterback who can. Who has shown he can actually play the game. But it's the. Then the question becomes if Jay Cutler get. If they move on from Jay, what do they do? Because why would you move on from a guy who can actually win games and just throw garbage in there? And the name Jake Locker is somewhat interesting of you get a guy who was drafted in the first round. We don't really. I don't think it's completely fair to know who Jake Locker is besides a guy who gets hurt all the time. And we don't know exactly what he brings to. To the NFL besides that injury history.

You know who Jake Locker reminds me of? I would describe him as a poor man's Jay Cutler. So maybe.

So yeah, it depends on what they do in the draft or free agency if they can get anybody worth an offensive weapon in there.

All right, let's talk about free agent tight ends. Much more exciting, much more impactful to the fantasy football season because these guys are big names. The biggest of them all. Orange Julia, Orange Julius.

[Jason Moore]

Go down to the mall.

His options are obviously very limited. He has to go to a team that wears orange. So his only options are Cincinnati, Cleveland, the Browns.

[Jason Moore]

Browns, now that they're orange.

You can't abandon a nickname like that. Yeah. So Julius Thomas. All indications have been that he will be gone. Pretty well established that he'll be gone. But there are some talks that Peyton's restructuring could enable him to keep Julius.

And that Peyton would restructure so that they could keep Julius.

That reminds me of the Brady Welker thing that happened and didn't happen where Brady restructured and didn't get to keep Welker. Thought he did.

This is the real question that we need to Answer with Julius Thomas is how good is Julius Thomas as a, as an NFL tight end and how much was what he did a result of Peyton Manning? Because he's going to be presumably leaving and the question as to where to draft him is how much was Peyton? Obviously a part of it was Peyton, but a part of it was him. So what's, where does that lie? Where is his value aside from Peyton?

I'm going it was 70 to 75%.

Peyton, I would agree, but not necessarily Peyton, just the opportunities of goal line touchdowns. So I think he's a really good player. But if you put him in Jacksonville or you put him in Oakland, simply the goal line opportunities go down. So I think he can be a productive player. But you're talking productive like a Delaney Walker who is on a team that's offense just isn't prolific. I mean, would you agree with that?

Atlanta needs a tight end, and if they sign a quality tight end, I'm actually really excited about about that player because I think they'll get the work on a good offense with a great offensive coordinator. So I'm really excited to see who they pick up. They've already pretty much said they're out of the Julius Thomas race, so they're not looking big money, they're looking cheap. That's why I think Jordan Cameron is an actual Jordan Cameron. If he finds big money on the open market, that's a stupid team because there's just too many question marks with his head injuries. And so I think he's got to prove himself. He might be able to come a little cheaper. And if he can go there, I would. I would really like him a lot.

And here's. Here's what will happen. Jordan Cameron will find that team willing to give him the money. They're going to sit down. He will have just finished signing his signature and he will sneeze and he will be concussed.

Niles Paul, he kind of got thrust into relevance when Jordan Reed got hurt last year. I don't know what he is yet. About 500 yards, though. If he went back there, he'll probably put up the same numbers because Jordan Reed will be hanging out with Jordan Cameron.

And they're putting up yards and catches, and then I get excited and then they die.

That's it. The. The problem with Reed is he's going to be a guy that you want to hold on to on your roster.

Yeah, because I think they will sign and bring another guy in and they'll use. I mean it'll be the Tammy situation where a guy, you know, you got a guy here, guy there and if Virgil Green has to be in the block. And they want the run game to protect Peyton. I just think you cap him out. I mean, he's just capped out on potential. He's not. I mean, maybe he's a guy who gets like six touchdowns because they, you know, decide to run him in the red zone. I don't know. What are your thoughts?

I still like him as a sleeper, but he's. He's one of those. The. The sleepers where things have to fall into place before I get.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah.

Let me give a piece of advice. Another thing to watch out for here. Julius Thomas. See a cup Before Julius broke out, he was my preseason sleeper. Because I watched the preseason and you saw how Denver used their tight ends then. So I would watch for the same thing with Virgil Green. If you watch the preseason and all of a sudden he's running routes, maybe change your opinion.

Kind of like Travis Kelce last preseason.

I actually put more power in Adrian Peterson's court of the Viking. The Vikings have the power to say, we're going to pay you $13 million to play football this year. If they don't want to pay him $13 million, the power is completely shifted to Adrian Peterson.

I don't think they have a problem paying him that. They've got the cap space. They, They've got the ability to pay him that just fine. And I don't think that that's So I really do think they have the power because I don't think they mind paying him that much. I mean, of course they'd rather pay him 8. You know, math. But I don't think it's as far.

As improving the team where Minnesota is on the rise. They are not. They're not there yet. To the point where Adrian Peterson puts them over the. The hump. But so that money is better used for that team elsewhere.

I think if they look at having, say, an extra 5 million, if they were to pay him, you know, 8 instead of 13, I think if they look at their team and see what they could get for that, it's probably not. Not that big a difference.

I think it is. 5 million. You can get. You can get a great player for 5 million.
