Yeah. So it's November 25th. I am Mike the fantasy hitman. Right. My good co host, good friend, Andy Holloway. Holloway is here. I would like to start the show with a confession of the ultimate.

This is so bad.

Ultimate fantasy football blunder committed by yours truly.

I can't believe this. Like, of all the people I've ever met in my life who play fantasy football, I just wouldn't have thought it possible by you.

And so I. You need a little backstory of how this happened. I took my family to Disneyland and my youngest, who is 11 months, he still does not like to sleep through the night. He likes to wake up several times on occasion.

I like that. The setup.

[A]

Well, you have to come.

[B]

I know.

[A]

You have to understand because it's not just complete stupidity, which it sounds like there's at least some context to it. But before then, so the night before the drive to California, the baby woke up I believe five times. So I got maybe four hours of completely interrupted sleep, drove all day to Disneyland, then took the kids in. Then there was a whole fiasco of essentially how we had to stay up until 10 o'clock, low on sleep. California. So I'm already low on sleep and that's actually 11 o'clock our time. Go home or back to the hotel, put the baby down for just an excruciating double dose from him who he woke up I believe four times.

The payoff better be good here.

[A]

Well, you just saw go into Monday morning. I haven't slept really in about 72 hours. And I know that I'm not going to have much, much downtime for, for fantasy football. And so I, I, I'm looking at one of my leagues and I like, oh, I lost. Okay, whatever. So I need, I was, I'm having terrible running back problems. Everyone just keeps getting hurt for me.

This is one of your money leaks.

[A]

Yeah. So I threw in all these waivers and I'm like, oh, I also need to change my lineup. And the only spot that I could change at the time or would be Le'Veon Bells. I'm gonna have on. Bye. And I had Tally Farrow.

Gross.

I mean he was my literum. That's how bad it's going. That he's my only option. So I throw him in. I get a text later that night for my, from my friend who's the commission leagues. Like, why did you sit le'veon Bell.

Oh.

[A]

And I said, what are you talking about? It's like you, you played Taliaferro on his bye week. So I was so sleep drunk I thought it was Tuesday.

Oh. And little did you know at the time, Le'Veon Bell played that night.

[A]

So look, not only Le'Veon Bell. And well, so here's what happened. I would have won.

Yes.

I would have placed top six. I would have been in right on the cusp of playoff contention. But, but now I am not in the playoffs.

Because you made the worst fantasy blunder of your life.

Yes. Of my entire life.

Oh, my goodness.

So let this be a lesson. When you're on vacation. When you're on vacation and no sleep. Don't. Don't tinker. No. That was the problem. There was no thinking.

I just couldn't believe it when you told me. I was like. And it wasn't a small mistake. It was like Levy, Levy on went out and dominated.

About Justin for set. He straight murdered me last night. Andy and I are in a league with the or we. I guess we introduced. We. We do some writing for fantasy pros and there's a league of correspondent, correspondent leagues, other writers where we're trying to flex our muscles. We're going up against a guy who happens to be undefeated just because of head to head matchups. We're up by 330 points. 9.

I forgot he was the undefeated guy.

We're up by 30.9 points going into Monday night and he has four set so impossible.

We think.

Yeah. And then four set puts up 31 points in that league.

We lost by 0.22. And then you lost because you lost because of him in another week too. Justin. Justin for set. Bravo to those who picked him up off the waiver wire. What an absolute monster.

He has been the king of the waiver wire. I already had just gut wrenching loathing for the New Orleans Saints. I already. And that's funny enough I cover them. But this is. I'm talking for a personal standpoint. Not right. I hate them because they killed Kurt Warner and Brett Favre and my dreams.

So I. I just don't like them. And then this. That go out in their defense sucks so bad that I lose everywhere.

That's their first three game losing streak at home in 17 years, I think.

Yeah. News and notes from around the league. Oh, I've been gone so I forgot that was coming.

No, I know. It's all good. We talked about four set obviously. But let's get into some injury news and notes here. This is tough for all those of you starting Ryan Mallet out there. Ryan Mallett's long wait to become a starter. Well, his opportunity's over. He has a torn pectoral muscle and he's done for the year.

Marshawn lynch is just. He's. Hey guy. Which we have to monitor. He's on the quick turnaround with a Thanksgiving game. His back his. Which is always a problem. So you can't. It's hard to really be really concerned about it.

[B]

I'm not concerned about it back. Yeah.

[A]

But he did miss a couple series because he was so sick during the. The Cardinal game. So just monitor him going. I believe he's gonna play but he.

Might not practice at all right before he plays. But I would expect him to play.

[A]

It's a hard matchup with the same with the 49ers San Francisco. And he's got these ailments. So just, just pay attention. Don't. Don't be an Arian Foster owner.

Who leaves him in the lineup.

Yeah. Seriously. Yeah. We may or may not have had somebody do that this week. Ryan Matthews, who's the normally dependable Ryan Matthews. Never been hurt before.

He's a tank.

Got a shoulder Injury. I'm hearing good things. He should be okay.

He did come back into the game.

Yeah. Although he tends to be a slow healer. So we want to keep your eyes on Mr. Matthews. And if Brandon Oliver is available somehow in your league, you want to snag him.

Matthews is like the opposite of Wolverine. Oh, you know who he is?

He is Samuel Jackson from Unbreakable. Oh, what did. Mr. Glass.

But heading into playoffs, Austin Safari and Jenkins, who is a. Is a known favorite of this podcast. He hurt his back. And I have recently saw that Tampa signed a couple of tight ends. So that is not sounding good for ASJ's availability this weekend. So I would plan to stream somewhere else.

We got Corduroy Patterson, who hurt his ankle. Not that you're really starting him at this point. He. I know he's come out and said that he still wants. He heard it on a kick return and he still wants to return kicks, which is something that sometimes really good players don't want to do because they want to be in the lineup. But, you know, we.

You always. Fantasy football analysts always have a lot of misses. This Cordrell Patterson makes me so happy.

About myself because it wasn't a miss.

I did not like him at all. No, I didn't.

He's not been good. I remember he came out week one and was really good. So it was like everybody freaked out.

I did not understand what was going on. People were going crazy for him. I'm talking well, respected professional analyst, I think people thought.

I think Castle going out though, had to impact him in a big way because you had nobody who. You bring a rookie quarterback in, it's not the same as the force feeding of, you know, Percy Harvin we saw a couple years ago. You have. I don't know, I just. But Castle, certainly you were right.

A couple games in, but that one just makes me feel good. Cooper Helfitt, you're not even gonna know that name. He scored the 20 yard touchdown against Arizona.

Tight end for Seattle. Fullback. Tight end.

I think he's a wide receiver. I don't even know what position he is. I just looked up injuries and this guy's name came up. And you're probably as confused at his name as I am, but he did score, so we're talking about.

His ownership percentage has got to be 0.01. It's his mom. His mom and his dad both own him in a fancy league.

He hurt his ankles. His ankle. All right, so let's. Let's talk up some. Some fellas. This week's fantasy stud muffins.

Oof. Lots of. Lots of interesting names. And this is like an incredibly important time of year for that emergency signing for handcuffing your guy for the playoffs. Or as some of you are in the position of, and I highly advocate this, by the way, destroying other teams dreams. Don't. Oh, be passive. Yeah, don't be a passive little. Oh, I'm. I'm out of the playoffs.

Your job is to compete. And even if you're not in a dynasty league, compete and knock people out of the playoffs. Take away people's waiver wire claims. Don't make it easy on them. And to that end, if you were one of the people who signed Latavius Murray last week. Like somebody I know.

Who also started them. Started him like somebody I know.

Like you were a crazy person.

Yeah. Yeah. And it paid off, baby. It paid off big four for 1:12. Two touchdowns. The only two touchdowns scored against Kansas City in the last 15 games. Games or more. I can't remember the number. It's. They hadn't given up a rushing touchdown this year.

And he went out two minutes into the second quarter with a concussion. So, Mr. Latavius Murray, what's his outlook going forward? He's Mike Wright.

He has not practiced. I think we'll. We can talk about him a little bit more in the waiver section because he's clearly okay. Oh, he's going to be a hot name.

As of now, he has not practiced. Other big guys that I just wanted to cover real quick. It's for people who need to pay attention. Zach Mettenberger, you probably don't have any interest in him, but the guy's putting up fantasy numbers.

I think the key there for him, too, is he's in a wizard hunt offense that cannot run, never can, and they just are going to hurl the ball around because they're going to be losing.

So the last two weeks, he's. He's over 250 yards with two touchdowns. So if you're struggling for a. For a quarterback or you're. Or you're streaming, look at Men Burger. He might help you out. Just a quick Rashad Jennings is back. Welcome back. He looked good. Yeah, he did.

Yeah. I was watching that game, and I.

Yeah, I know you do. It's only destiny that you end up with him somehow paying off. Isaiah Crowell. Oh, finally gets his day in the sun. And did he shine. Oh, my goodness. When I saw that touchdown run, did you see any of them?

So the one where he kind of cut back all the way across the field, I saw that play and all I kept thinking to myself was this. Ben Tate could not do that. Ben Tate could not do that. Not even close. Not even close.

Crowell is also a favorite of the Hitman, and I've been talking about him all season long. And finally, the Browns wised up. They cut Ben Tate and they stopped this. We don't even know who our running back is. Garbage. And they gave it to Crowell.

It should be said that I've been. I drafted Ben Tate in our main league and was riding high after. It seemed like he was going to be the bell cow. Kind of held on to him, hoping. Hoping that what I was seeing was an illusion once Alex Mack went out. But I will say this. I cut Ben Tate off my fantasy team one hour before Minnesota, or, I'm sorry, before Cleveland, cut Ben Date from the actual roster, which I thought was pretty funny.

You did. You were ahead of the curve on that one. Let's see. So. Oh, he's already kind of blew up. But we got to talk about that back home catch. Just touch on it.

It was the best catch I've ever seen.

And I hadn't even seen the still shot of his fingers. Have you seen that?

Yeah, where he's cut. He caught the ball with two fingers.

Yeah, basically three. His, like, top three fingers. Top two fingers.

I've seen great catches in probably more important situations, but as far as the guy's arm was being held with. With a complete blatant pass, interference, falling back. I mean, that was ridiculous.

I think all the. Like to stay in bounds and do all of that was just incredible. He is so good.

By the way, my favorite quote was rain someone. I don't know where they were doing it, but they asked Randy Moss about it, and Randy Moss said, he's. He's. I don't have a single catch in my career that compares to that.

So when you got high praise, you got Randy Moss talking about how good the catches? You know, it was a good.

I try to think, like, I think the point people have made. Obviously it wasn't the most important catch. There have been a lot more important catches. But I cannot think of anything that compares other than the David Tyree catch.

Yeah, that's kind of the one that people keep coming up with.

But. And obviously that was more important. But from a pure athletic catch standpoint, I mean, this was just. Just stupid.

You have to add into the. The. The pass interference into it, which you.

Can'T see if you just fighting it off, reaching across. Yeah. What a catch. ODB is playing like a beast. And the other guy to mention just had another good week. We'll talk about him more in the waiver wire claims as well. Jarvis Landry.

Wide receiver. Rookie wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins. Another one of the rookies kind of coming into his own towards the back half of the year. Like we already talked about. Odell Beckham. You've also got guys like Mike Evans. Yeah. Tannehill's playing. Well. Mike wants to remind me that we had a little Matt Ryan. Ryan Tannehill bet and I am losing. I'm the losing Ryan on that one. So. But. But just because you were gone doesn't mean our audience needs to forget a very important fact. I have something that you are getting watered.

Good question. The answer is maybe. The answer is no on Matthew Stafford, in my opinion, which is funny because I'm very anti Jay Cutler. Trust is a tough word though, this time of year with fantasy playoffs, because here's the problem. Do I trust Jay Cutler or Matthew Stafford? No. Do I trust Jay Cutler or Matthew Stafford? Compared to Zach Mettenberger or Ryan Tannehill or some of those guys, it's more up in the air. I probably put Tannehill above both of them from a consistency standpoint. But to say that out loud is incredible considering where these guys have been. And then the biggest thing I'm seeing is these timing routes where Carson Palmer got him the ball out of the backfield quickly so that he had fantasy production in the passing game. They're not there.

He had two routes this past weekend where Stanton missed him on basically what you'd call, you know, he just ran straight out of the backfield, almost in a seam pattern. Make a break. He just missed him.

The defenses can feel like they can cheat up, too, because no one's. I. I like Stanton. I think he's an adequate backup, but.

And the problem I have with Watkins is what you're seeing here, which is inconsistency from the quarterback position. A team that doesn't depend on his offense as much of his defense. Super good talent, but coming off an injury and a rookie and a quarterback like that, no, thanks. All right, let's start somebody else.

But every week they come out with their waiver wire with it, which I believe they take kind of four analysts and they have them talk about who they would pick up, and then they make a list. And the other thing that I think bodes well for Murray is when Murray was knocked out of the game with concussion, Marcel Reese started taking carries. They're done with McFadden.

They're done with MJD and Tony Spirano. If you remember from his time in Miami, he likes to run.

He does like to run. I like Toronto, man.

Also, I will throw this out for those who are in some kind of keeper or dynasty league. I mean, if you're in dynasty, I'm sure he's probably gone. I don't really play any dynasty, so I don't have expert opinion on that. But if you're in a keeper league, grab Dan Heron immediately.

Well, do you think Bradshaw's coming back next year?

I do not know that. But what I know is right now he's a super cheap option. He's on your waiver wire and like, part of why I picked him up for my, my money league. It's a keeper league. And here's a. Here's an opportunity for a guy who I can keep. He cost me nothing. And by the time the draft comes around next year.

He might be a top two round pick.

Fair point. Another guy we want to talk about is a guy that was on the Pittsburgh Steelers a week ago, LeGarrett Blunt. He came in, he got every, every garbage carry, which is a huge category if you're a New England Patriot running back is garbage time. And he. He took them all. Jonas Gray got no play. Because he was late. Yeah, because he was late. So what do I expect from this? I expect LeGarrett Blunt to get the work done the down. Do you? I do. And I expect it for a couple reasons. One is because Jonas Gray is a youngster and I think that we. You have to remember New England made the AFC championship game last year and they did it on the back of Leger Blunt.

And for him to come in, I just think that he'll go with who Belichick will go with who he trusts. So I. And he knows. Knows everything. So I'm not worried about a transition.

Yeah, I find it very difficult to get all in on LeGarrett blunt just because he's a New England backfield.

But yeah, all. All in isn't necessarily what I'm saying. But if there was a guy to choose going forward between the two, I'm picking.

Tiny Hill has become an every week starter. To me he still has lower games but the. I'm not saying I'm putting Ryan Tannehill in elite Rogers Manning territory. I'm just. But I'm saying he's a. He's lower end of QB1. Who. I mean he torched the Broncos. Who. Not very many people saw that coming. And he runs. So if he gets you 40 yards, I mean if you're in a four point touchdown league, that's a touchdown pass. And so I've been on the Ryan Tannehill train. I've been driving that thing for a while. So I do like Jarvis Landry. Let's see on this list, Andrew Hawkins who benefit, I think benefits greatly now that Josh Gordon is back. We saw the underneath routes were there for Hawkins.

Yeah, they're. The Browns are man. They. They could be a good team. Allegedly Jordan Cameron's coming back this week. They finally have their running game figured out. So it's strange to say but you know, watch out for the Browns and you pay attention to them for fantasy.

So that's always funny. James Jones, John Brown. I like John Brown a lot. This week in particular, I like Sean Brown a lot because I like the Arizona Cardinals and I've seen what he can do. And he's actually got 18 targets over the last two weeks. He's getting massive snaps. He's playing pretty much the whole game. And he faces Carolina this week and Carolina has been vulnerable. So I'm going to jump on the bandwagon here and ride Charles Johnson as a streamer.

It's interesting that. And you also look like you have giant intestinal fortitude if you are starting Charles Johnson. And it pays off.
