I think tuned in for the wrong channel.

Nasty Joe Mauer hour. All right. We're actually going to still talk football. That's what we do year round. And congrats to everybody that just brought home a title in week 18. The 10%. Hopefully that's a full 10% of champions.

[Mike Wright]

And I thought week 18 was. I watched Red Zone pretty much the entirety of the day. We like I wasn't in the office doing the, you know, the, the bajillion screens melt your brain. But I Red Zone the whole day. I thought it was a. It was a fun day of football.

[Jason Moore]

The. The morning started really slow and wonky, but towards the end of the morning games, especially when there was like the back and forth between the Falcons outcome versus the Buccaneers outcome, that there was a lot of exciting stuff. Unfortunately, the incredible, much anticipated game that we were waiting for between the Vikings and the Lions did not come to fruition offensively.

[Mike Wright]

It did not. I like and I know it goes against everything I say because like I want high powered offensive offensive games, but when it's like the one is on the line, I'm okay with a lower scoring game because the stakes are so incredibly high and I have no fantasy implications.

[Andy Holloway]

We would have gotten a more exciting game if much like you watching Red Zone, the Vikings could handle their business in the red zone.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah, the Vikings. Sam Darnold was not good. Justin Jefferson, he was missing. He was missing players high very often. Justin Jefferson was not an elite wide receiver that he needed to be multiple times during that game. So it was. I'm sure that opinions on the Vikings making a move in the playoffs has shifted Dramatically for people.

[Andy Holloway]

We. Well, they're the five seed now, right. So what I'm saying was just look.

[Mike Wright]

You'Re like, how can you. I'm sure I'm saying, people, how can you have faith in this team? And Sam Darnold, when the, when the lights were the brightest for Sam Darnold, he, you know, I'm not saying they will. I'm just saying I'm still in on Minnesota. I think they're a great team.

I still feel like it's just a player too. You know what I mean? It really was like those, those red zone conversions. We didn't get the high scoring game. We're going to talk through NFL News, we'll talk through the studs of the week and we've got the footy nominations on today's show.

The odds of that are plus 2800 or something ridiculous right now. So not high odds.

And how long did it take Harbaugh to get there the first time?

And that was not the reason he got fired. He got fired not because he, you know.

You know, Kraft came out and talked about how when the interviews. When he was coming up, Gerard Mayo was coming up for other interviews, he got scared that he was going to lose them and that he was the heir apparent. He was kind of that handpicked guy. So he put him in. And I mean, the truth was, he just wasn't. He wasn't that guy. And if. You know it. You know, it.

I mean, you know what if. If you weren't paying attention, Sunday, it was the Patriots versus the Buffalo Bills. So division rival laid down, and the Patriots lost their number one pick. I mean, that. And your. Your seed doesn't change for the Buffalo Bills. Like, that is. That's. That's winning.

Yeah, that's. That's some good.

It's funny, though, to think. I mean, we've been doing this long enough to know when the roles were perfectly reversed. I mean, they were. It was the New England on top of everything, doing everything right. And Buffalo was laughing. Stuck.

But they also. I mean, it's easier to win when you put in your star rookie quarterback. And that's what happened for the first time all season for the Patriots, Mr. Joe Milton.

He did make a couple. Bazooka Joe's great. I hope he's now the starter for that.

It's like he comes in and he cleans the locker room up real nice and sparkly clean, but then never.

Yeah, it doesn't maintain.

Doesn't maintain. The Giants, they're going to retain Brian Dable and their general manager.

[Jason Moore]

I definitely think retaining Brian Dabel is the right route here. He, he appears to me still to be a good coach. He's been working with not a lot. So I don't know about the GM situation, but Day ball is the type of guy that I think if they let him go, he would be interviewed immediately for at least at coaching jobs or go get another OC job.

[Andy Holloway]

You, you imagine they're going to bring in their new quarterback of the future and it's hard to want somebody, you know, get somebody as good as able to potentially help that quarterback alone.

[Mike Wright]

They have a weird navigating though. They are pick three, Tennessee is the first overall pick. I can't imagine they don't take a quarterback.

[Andy Holloway]

Yep.

[Mike Wright]

And then the Cleveland Browns are number two quarterback. Maybe. Maybe.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah, maybe they should.

[Jason Moore]

They definitely should.

[Andy Holloway]

And then, you know, they could be. They could be a trading team, too.

[Mike Wright]

That's more what I mean of like, is it, is it better for the Browns to just trade down, acquire a bunch of assets because they're not ready to get on the. On the rookie quarterback contract.

[Andy Holloway]

The Colts will retain Shane Steichen and Chris Ballard.

[Mike Wright]

That one was surprising.

[Andy Holloway]

I don't think the vibes there were good all year. Chris Ballard's pretty proven. Shane Steichen, I don't know if he knew what he was doing this year. He felt very similar to Gerard Mayo. To me, it's from press conferences and decision making.

[Mike Wright]

It's like two years, though of collapse.

[Jason Moore]

Right at the end.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah.

[Jason Moore]

Down the stretch, I mean, you had one of the worst games of the season, of the whole season. One of the most surprising outcomes in Week 17, to let the Colts just get annihilated by a team they were super favored over where they had to win. When that game ended, I thought Steichen would not be back. But this is also a team that has not been that bad. They're, you know, they were in the playoff hunt.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah.

[Jason Moore]

Last year and this year it didn't happen. But this isn't a team that I think continuity also matters. So probably a good move.

[Andy Holloway]

If you're talking about keeping somebody there. You talk about, hey, he had to deal with injuries at the quarterback position that rotated guys through and didn't get stability ever. You know, it's. It's a questionable hire though. I don't know if he's going to work out. Mike McDaniel is staying with the Dolphins.

[Jason Moore]

So it seems like if your quarterback missed a bunch of games. Daniel Jones, Anthony Richardson, Tua. You got like the free passes.

[Andy Holloway]

Is that the Mike McCarthy prognostication?

[Jason Moore]

We'll find out.

Because he's a winner, Jason.

He is a winner. He wins Super Bowl a long time ago.

Man, that he got so fired up. And that clip is just a chef's kiss. It's so good.

Ken Dorsey fired as the offensive coordinator of the Browns. Ryan Grubb out after one year in Seattle.

[Mike Wright]

Yeah.

And Lou Annarumo who has been a. At one point a head coaching candidate after the dominant Bengals defensive years ago when they went to the super bowl fired bad defense this year in Cincinnati and kind of. I mean if you just. The Cincinnati year is one of the more disappointing ones because you got. You got an MVP season from Burrow. To me, if they win that division, they win all those close games. He's the MVP of football first.

[Mike Wright]

Did you see the Burrows, the passing leader? Jamar Chase is a triple crown winner and then they have the lead most sacks with Hendrickson. Yeah. On the same exact team. And this team barely finished 500 and did not make the playoffs.

[Andy Holloway]

Doesn't that reflect on the head coach too?

[Mike Wright]

Oh, I Definitely not if you ask him.

[Jason Moore]

Right.

[Mike Wright]

Somebody you go talk to Lou about that.

[Andy Holloway]

This is head's got a roll with the coordinator first.

[Jason Moore]

Zach Taylor drives me crazy. I don't know that he is a bad coach. Like. I'm not saying he is just bad. You should fire him. But he definitely makes very bad decisions frequently. So you are.

[Andy Holloway]

You do get your feathers in game.

[Jason Moore]

He drives me nuts. So I don't know. Whatever. He's got Joe Burrow. So he wins a lot of games. Hard to fire him. But I think they could do a lot better than Zach Taylor. And just imagine, just imagine like oh, there's all these coaching openings, right. And it's like the coaches. Right. Ben Johnson is the bell of the ball this year. He's going to get to pick where he wants to go. Now just imagine one of these spots has Joe Burrow.

[Andy Holloway]

That could have a lot to do with who Burrow wants right now.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah.

I mean Burrow, my T. Higgins is the answer to that question.

He does. Yeah. Yeah. Zay Flowers left the Browns game knee spray not considered long term. But could miss the wild card game against The Steelers.

But I'm saying in overtime, you got to be crestfallen. Your hearts are broken. But Bryce Young not only, like, this wasn't just a. He was good for fantasy. It was Bryce Young, like, he was awesome, including a full Steph Curry. No, look, after the, after he threw the ball, he's like, this is a touchdown. I'm turning around. It's going to be a cool celebration. And I think, I think it was to Sanders who double caught the ball. If you actually watch what happened. But this is, it's so exciting if Bryce. You have been Mr. Bryce, because I want every single. I want all 32 quarterbacks to be awesome. When a quarterback comes out and they're drafted and then they suck, like, it hurts me. It hurts my heart because I want that kid to be good and I want an entertaining product. And it all starts with the quarterbacks. And two games into this year, right, he got benched. And it was, this is the end. This is the end of Bryce Young. And then he came back with an absolute fury. And it wasn't just this week. I mean, it's been basically since he got on bench that he's been playing extremely well. It's weird, the transformation from what he was in week one and two to this guy is you can't even recognize him.

I don't want to take any credit away from his mental change and transformation because he had to go through what he went through. But Dave Canalis, oh sure. It means it's cool to see that come to fruition. Putting your players in a position to win.

[Jason Moore]

I love that he got benched when he wasn't playing well enough and got brought back because it is really. It's a confidence thing. Like that's when you watch Bryce Young play the last month and a half. Two months.

[Mike Wright]

It's. He looks so much more confident. Yeah he's like having fun on the.

Based on their draft position and where you took them and who hurt you the most. I mean prequel or preview of that, you know Travis Etienne's in there, right. Kyler's not on that list because there's a lot of names that are more worthy. Kyler is in the ring of honor of that list. He's been the most frustrating for the most people that I've seen for the.

I mean because the first half, yeah, there's a lot of. There's a lot of bad games in there but there's actual really good ones before the bye week and then he did. Then it all just, it fell apart for fantasy.

So Kyler's last seven games played, 21 touchdown pace with four 19 interceptions. That includes this past week where he threw no picks.

So I mean that is if you, if you take out this week 14 touchdown pace with 22 picks. Yeah, that is, that's out of the league numbers. Geno Smith against the Rams second group.

I thought it was. I mean he's 21 of 38. It was like I've seen, I think I've seen enough from, from Pennix to be confident moving forward that he can become a franchise quarterback. I mean there are already the rumors of they're going to try and trade Kirk Cousins or they're fine with him being the backup.

Which Cousins will not be fine with. It's like he's already, he's not doing that.

He may not have a choice because he signed the contract and has all that guaranteed money. But I'm excited for Pennix but it's not completely there yet.

I think he's a talented, ancillary piece of a wide receiver core.

Does that equate to wide receiver too?

Would he be a good 2ish?

Because you look at. I mean McConkey is not a traditional one.

I still think probably a three.

Yeah, he's targeted on 41% of his routes, which is number one in the NFL.

So that's going to mess up people for next year. I don't know how high he'll go, but it will. It will be higher than he would have a couple weeks ago. Mooney was out of this game. Keep that in mind. It was Carolina, but like, are you going to be all in on Drake London next year?

[Jason Moore]

I'm pretty in on Drake London. Yeah. I think Penix can get the job done. I mean he was. He's the wide receiver six this year.

[Andy Holloway]

Yeah.

So it's, you know.

Do you think he's the wide receiver?

[Jason Moore]

I think next year he'll probably be more like wide receiver eight or nine. But he'll be a wide receiver one by ADP for sure.

[Andy Holloway]

Okay. Jalen McMillan. Seven receiving touchdowns in the final five games. He'll be interesting in draft season as well because Godwin will be gone. Mike Evans will be a year older.

[Mike Wright]

Godwin could be gone. He's a free agent. We don't know if they're going to bring him back. You don't think the Bucks have any interest in bringing him back?

[Andy Holloway]

I think it's very unlikely that I'll be back. Yeah. I think you've seen what you needed to see from Jalen McMillan and there's other places to invest on that roster that I would be shocked for them.

[Jason Moore]

To bring him back if he was gone so good this year. He was, but I get it, he's older. Coming off of an injury. McMillan's breakout. You're going to Have a lot of conversation down the road of, you know, is this Johan Dotson scored more touchdowns than he should have or is this Amon Ross St. Brown the end of year breakout where he just couldn't be stopped.

[Andy Holloway]

Well, and that'll be connected with Baker and throwing over 40 touchdowns and whether he'll do that every year. And McLaurin with two seconds left scoring McLaurin with the backups. I don't know if you saw Cliff Kingsbury high five and up and down the sideline. Yeah, but that, that combined with the Green Bay loss secured Washington seating in the playoffs. Top tight end scores. The muth was Luth number one on the week. Trey McBride number two. Jordan Akins, Noah Fant and Johnny Smith wasn't Brock Bowers. But Brock Bowers finished with 112.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah.

And McBride with 111.

McBride had 7 for 65 for a long time they just stopped throwing to him.

Trey McBride led the entire NFL in reception since week 12. That's more than Jamar Chase Puka.

Trey McBride is very good.

Who would you rather have next year between McBride and Bowers?

Yeah, probably. I mean they're. It's a. To me it is a 1A 1B thing. You got to hope that these last.

We're figuring out that if we can get McBride touchdowns because that will be everything.

The landscape with the Raiders if they bring in a high profile wide receiver which they desperately need. I mean this season went like. Brock Bowers is a unique talent. Maybe he puts up these exact numbers anyways. But the fact that this season goes the way it did where they literally get rid of Devonte Adams in the middle of the year. Had injuries to Jacoby Myers early in the year. I thought Myers missed some time, didn't he?

Yeah, Myers missed a couple.

I thought he missed some time. So, you know, it went pretty well for Brock Bowers.

[Jason Moore]

Jacoby missed two weeks.

Dropping the touchdown. Jamar Chase put up a 50 burger in week 10 versus Baltimore. And Brock Bowers as a rookie had a 25 point performance in week 13.

You had Mr. Travis Etn drafted in the second is the RB7, Marvin Harrison, securing my pants to be on forever at wide receiver 8. Patrick Mahomes, drafted in the back of the third at QB3. And then Jalen Waddle, wide receiver 18.

Yeah. Last year the winner was Austin Eckler, who was the Poopiest pants award, who was drafted as the RB2 and who Jason wouldn't trade me for two first and Saquon Barkley.

[Jason Moore]

Yeah. Unlike the big performance of the year, which I feel like we had five of them that were bigger than the biggest last year. This year we had the waiver wire wonder which undrafted waiver wire stud was the best pickup of the season last year? Kyren Williams was great. Yeah, I didn't feel like this year was as strong yet. Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, good at the quarterback position. Juwan Jennings, Darnell Mooney. And then John Smith at tight end. And Bucky Irving, a later season pickup.

Yeah, that one was a tough. Tough one for me to pick too, because I feel like, you know, it's going to be a little bit subjective with who you grabbed in your league, which is the point of the award. But, you know, finding quarterbacks on the waiver wire that you can always start. Like, we always talk about streaming the quarterback position, but not because we want to.

This year's winner, not Dak. Nominees Lamar Jackson, a third round pick drafted as the QB4, finished at 1. Josh Allen, second round pick, finishes the quarterback 2 Joe Burrow, six round pick, finishes the quarterback 3 Jaden Daniels, 10th round pick, finished at QB4 and Baker, undrafted to the QB5 fantasy running back.

Of the year last year Christian McCaffrey was able to win because that was one of the years he played football. This year's nominees Saquon Barkley oh yeah, drafted as the RB6 finish well are we. Where are we getting these finishes from? Kyle is this week 17 because I thought Jameer Gibbs took over. I thought Gibbs shot up to the running back one. Whatever. Saquon Barkley, running back one right around there. Derek Henry, drafted as the RB9 running back to finish. Jameer Gibbs, drafted as the RB4 finished as the RB3. Chase Brown was drafted as the RB40, took over and became the RB11. Chuba Hubbard, running back 43 finishes the running back 12 and then Joe Mixon, drafted as the 15th running back finished as the running back 13 but did have big impact when he was not hurt.

Yeah, he was better at the start of the year. The wide receiver of the year last year was CD Lamb stacking with Dak this year.

Yeah, for you. Jamar Chase, who finished as the wide receiver 1 drafted as the wide receiver 4 was obviously outstanding. Terry McLaurin drafted as the wide receiver 32 finishes the wide receiver 6 finally got himself a quarterback. And then you got a couple of breakout rookies. Brian Thomas Jr. Who finished as the wide receiver four in his rookie season as the wide receiver 47 drafted and Malik Neighbors, wide receiver seven finish drafted as the wide receiver 22.

Yeah, Jamar Chase was. He was separated from everybody. But it's interesting to note of this category, the only one who was drafted with any sort of early capital was Jamar Chase.

Yeah, that's tough. We have the Playoff King Award. Who drove fantasy managers to a championship during the Most important weeks 15, 16 and 17 last year was Kyron Williams, who was the running back 511 and one through those weeks. This year at quarterback, we had Jared Goff, Jaden Daniels, Baker Mayfield, all hitting top 10 performances in all three weeks. You had Jonathan Taylor, who was running back 17. That was. That was the first week of the playoffs where he dropped the ball, had a minus eight point play.

But then he was the running back one and the running back one. So if you were in the playoffs, you knew it. Jameer Gibbs, running back 3, 7 and 2. Brian Thomas Jr. 4, 3 and 14 wide receiver finishes. T. Higgins. Yeah, he was the wide receiver 14, 16. But championship week, he was the number one wide receiver. Or Sam Laporta, who you kind of forgot about early on. But top six wide receiver each of the three playoff weeks, including a wide receiver or tight end, one finish and.
