Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright.
Andy Holloway
Welcome in.
Mike Wright
In.
Andy Holloway
Tuesday, January 13th, welcome into the Fantasy Footballers. Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, Mike Wright. It is the official footy awards episode. We'll be dishing out some awards.
Mike Wright
Pretty big time here today, fellas.
Andy Holloway
Lots of footies will be in the mail after today's show. We have your votes. We had a week worth of voting. We've got the winners and we're going to reveal them on the show today.
Jason Moore
I had just an unbelievable amount of requests from celebrities.
Andy Holloway
Sure.
Jason Moore
Like, this is common. They were all trying to get in, right? Like, they're like, dude, we were at the Golden Globes. Yawn.
Andy Holloway
Or whatever. Is that the one that just happened?
Jason Moore
Like, who cares? Yeah, who cares? They were like, we want to be on the footies. And I said, unfortunately, we have very limited seating in the Golden.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, it's very similar to us. We had wanted to be on the Golden Globes and yeah, they were like, seating is limited. Otherwise.
Jason Moore
They're like, you're no smart list guys. You're no Amy Poehler first ever podcast winner.
Andy Holloway
No, this is the more prestigious.
Jason Moore
We were nominated for that, right?
Andy Holloway
The Golden Globes.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
I didn't check. I stay focused.
Jason Moore
That's what it was.
Andy Holloway
I stay focused on football.
Jason Moore
It's what it was. I didn't check this weekend.
Andy Holloway
I was busy. If I had been invited, I would have declined because there were some good.
Jason Moore
Games on the playoffs.
Mike Wright
There were some very.
Andy Holloway
Oh, man.
Jason Moore
There was.
Mike Wright
What a great weekend of football. Until the night.
Jason Moore
And then the Patriot.
Mike Wright
Yeah, that game was terrible. But also, it wasn't just terrible. It was terrible because of how incredible every other game was.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, it was. It was wild. Honestly. We asked Al Borland not to be here because he's not. He's not in the studio today because he would have just taken the poopiest Pants award from the actual winner, but he's not here. So.
Mike Wright
Packers fan. I don't know if he ever comes back.
Jason Moore
He was unwell.
Mike Wright
He was genuinely unwell. I had to text him to see if he was.
Jason Moore
Here's the thing is, we don't remember what that's like.
Mike Wright
No idea.
Andy Holloway
To care.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
To care about our team.
Jason Moore
To care about an NFL team. Like, we've all been unwell. For fantasy purposes. Jason's pretty much every week. But, like, the. The last time. When's the last time you were stressed out for a Cardinal game?
Mike Wright
Years.
Jason Moore
I don't.
Andy Holloway
Well, they didn't. They didn't stress us out the year they got clobbered by Aaron Donald. The one playoff appearance that Kyler made.
Jason Moore
Right.
Andy Holloway
They didn't stress us out then because it was over before it started.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. It's been all the way back to Super Bowl 2000.
Jason Moore
No, no, no, no.
Andy Holloway
We had the Carolina Conference championship game with Carson Palmer and.
Jason Moore
And that Green.
Andy Holloway
No one cares about the Cardinals. Yeah, but Packer fans. I mean, he was in a bar, so he's on vacation. He was taking his son and wife to Universal, but they drove out early enough to make sure they could be in a bar to watch this game. He was surrounded by Bears fans, which.
Mike Wright
Started real well for him.
Andy Holloway
So he had talked a big game. He had talked a lot all the way into halftime. So I don't think that that helped.
Mike Wright
21 to 3, packers lead.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, it should have been more, but, yeah, the games are crazy. We'll talk about it in the news and notes because we'll talk about some of the injuries as well, which will have fantasy implications on into next year. But we do have a quick question before we get to that.
Jason Moore
Dude, I totally forgot about George Kittle. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Well, forget for another minute or two, and then we'll remind you.
Jason Moore
Now I'm sad.
Andy Holloway
There is a couple of. There are a couple of things I want to mention at the top. First of all, we do this every year. Almost forgot to mention it. The DFS pass we make completely free for the NFL playoffs. So if you want to experience that, if you've if you've never subscribed to the DFS pass, amazing work being done by our writers there. Kyle the borgogan Matthew Betts dfspass.com completely free for the playoffs. It's just a chance to sign up and use the tools and resources and optimizer and all of those things. DFSPass.com completely free a reminder that championship swag can be found@shotballers.com we're also going to have some fun new stuff up there very soon. We also yeah, go ahead.
Mike Wright
I was going to say in fantasychamps.com if you want trophies, rings, championship belts, never too late to celebrate your success.
Andy Holloway
Quick question of the day. Brooks he wanted us to answer this one. If you had a if you had to make one hot take now for the next season, what would it be? Because it's never too soon for a hot take, right?
Jason Moore
People love them hot.
Andy Holloway
This is, this is like boiling hot. Right?
Mike Wright
I'll hop in. Because mine is. It feels extra hot due to what just happened last night, which was due due after completely embarrassing himself and the Chargers in a playoff collapse.
Jason Moore
Again, you Herbert people.
Mike Wright
I know you Herbert people. My hot take is Justin Herbert. He wins MVP next year, throws for 4,540 plus touchdowns, has the best record. And I think that next year and for fantasy purposes, Justin Herbert's going to be a monster next year.
Andy Holloway
So this is, this is just your way of saying that their office and Joe Alt will be okay.
Mike Wright
Yes, exactly. Their offensive line is going to be.
Andy Holloway
Good and Hampton will be okay.
Mike Wright
And yeah, the weapons, the team. I think that G Roe might be.
Jason Moore
Gone Hard Dog are on the out with each other.
Mike Wright
I don't know that that's bad, Mike. I don't know. Historically we were not like the biggest fans of G row Greg Roman. So TBD on whether Greg Roman retains his job but there is no way that that offensive line stays as injured going into next year as it was this season. I think that what we saw from Herbert through the course of the year was him overcoming a lot of to be pretty darn good for most of it. And next year if he doesn't have to overcome so much, I think he'll be great.
Andy Holloway
That that team does feel like something always happens towards the negative side. The finality of the playoffs. It always hits really hard when you've got, you know, we hyper analyze every moment of this long season and then they're just gone.
Jason Moore
Like I, I think that Herbert is, is a very, very good quarterback. But dude, it's been A long time.
Mike Wright
Oh, yeah. He has not thrown more than 26 touchdowns in a season since 2021. We were asked for hot takes, Mike.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I mean I am just the.
Jason Moore
I'm just pushing him back against the Herbert people who just support him no matter what.
Andy Holloway
It does feel like when you see greatness ever, you're always making excuses as to what's in the way of it. Again, because there's the potential for it to come back and that's tough. I mean, like, we'd all say Matthew Stafford's an amazing quarterback.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Andy Holloway
But there's long, long stretches of his career where fantasy wise, it wasn't like Stafford might win MVP. He also had a 40 touchdown year with Calvin Johnson. And then there was all the years in between then and now. He was still the same Matthew Stafford.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
It's just weapons, timing, situation.
Jason Moore
He was at least getting over 4,000 passing yards. Okay. Herbert has not done in the past three years.
Andy Holloway
All right, look, it's a hot take. It's a hot take. It's not a cold take. Cold take would have been like, Herbert's going to stink again.
Mike Wright
It's Pisces.
Andy Holloway
Here's the one I'm going to get into because it deals with the hometown team which, look, the Cardinals are very good for fantasy this year on a lot of fronts. They're going to hire a new head coach. The new head coach is going to have a press conference and talk about how important it is to make Marvin Harrison a superstar. And so my hot take is that he won't be and that it'll be Michael Wilson again. What we saw from Wilson over the back half of the year was awesome. I wouldn't say this is the hottest take to say that Wilson's going to outperform Harrison. But I'm going to tell you right now that the pressure, the pressure to buy into Marvin Harrison will be strong again. He will be the Kyle Pitts of the wide receiver position going into year three. He was hurt. He should be great. So the draft capital.
Jason Moore
Just wait a couple of years on Marv.
Andy Holloway
For one good game. Yes. For one really big game. Yeah. I just think that there's no way that like I'll probably fall victim to this at some point in the off season. I'll be like, this is, it's going to finally work for Marvin Harrison. And what I'm saying right now is I think Michael Wilson proved what kind of receiver he really is.
Mike Wright
I like that you said he outperforms Marvin Harrison. So even if he's not great. He's got a chance to come.
Andy Holloway
He just has to be the best wide receiver in Arizona.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Fantasy wise.
Mike Wright
Exactly. You were not here for the footcast last week. Mike and I kind of got to talking about Michael Wilson a little bit. Really A little bit deeper.
Andy Holloway
Just because what was the skinny.
Mike Wright
I was pouring a little bit of cold water on the outrageous, awesome Michael Wilson breakout. Only on the basis of basically from week 11 on when. When. When the whole breakout happened, Jacoby Brissette was on pace for 700 pass attempts. Like that's not.
Jason Moore
It's not sustainable.
Mike Wright
That's not normal. Not sustainable. Not going to be what the offense is. And even if Michael Wilson were to retain his target market share, his percentage of, you know, everything. Everything percentage wise stays the same. But you're like a team that throws 525 times. It's like nowhere near as relevant. So that was just my.
Andy Holloway
It's probably a fair argument. All right.
Jason Moore
I don't like the fact that this man was still using a cane after recovering from his knee being torn up. But my belief, I mean started a couple months ago. But I think that Jackson Dart. The Jackson Dart Malik Neighbors stack will be the league winning stack of next year.
Andy Holloway
Just. This is full stop. This is wonderful news. I have both of those players and Mike.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
I don't know if you're like premonitions ended after Gen 1. Well, I don't.
Jason Moore
I mean it was. I already had it but I wasn't a January vision.
Andy Holloway
I'm thrilled if you were right about this like you have been about everything else. The.
Jason Moore
Well, I got. I got the Jacksonville game wrong.
Andy Holloway
That's true. You both did. You both. You both did.
Jason Moore
Yeah, we did. I like this. The swag and confidence.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
After. Should have seen my man in slack. Oh I was. You were about to have a stroke.
Mike Wright
Game was so close.
Andy Holloway
Listen foot clan, it's off season. I'll just give you the skinny here on the show. I've been very vocal. This is. Josh Allen has to do it this year.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Andy Holloway
There's just no choice. My whole argument about him beating Jacksonville was that at the end of that game he just has to win. Which it kind of. It kind of played out that way. Now if they had lost that game, not only would you two have been right. Which is terrible. Just terrible. Like one of the things I live to not have. True.
Jason Moore
Understandable.
Mike Wright
Which is a hard life to live. It is because it happens so often.
Andy Holloway
It's been one of the worst parts of my life. But. But then like, then Allen's out and what I thought about Allen is over with. And I may have bought like some pretty good Josh Allen sports cards that I really.
Jason Moore
You are invested.
Andy Holloway
I'm invested in Alan because I believe, yes, I have strong conviction about. About the Bills now. They're going to have a tough task against Denver, but we'll get into all of that. So we've got news to break down and all the games before we get to the footie awards. Lots coming up.
Mike Wright
News and notes from around the league.
Andy Holloway
The weekend started off with the Rams. Man, the Rams barely squeaking by the Carolina Panthers, who their fans would like us to give them a tremendous amount of credit, which I will if you can push The Rams to 31, 34, give up a crazy touchdown at the end.
Jason Moore
Both things can be true of. The Panthers, in my opinion, didn't deserve to be in the playoffs because of what their record was in the regular season. They weren't a bad team by any stretch. Like they're. They had some truly elite performances on the defensive side of the football during the regular season. I mean, they beat this Rams team earlier. It was just when you're eight, nine, you shouldn't have. You shouldn't have a playoff spot. You shouldn't have a home game for sure. But they, they took him to the brink. The Rams and the Jags game kind of did. It was the same thing. It was. You know, just got real tight. And then the best quarterback on the field won the game. And Bryce Young was unfortunately unable to. I mean, they was just a whimper that final drive. It was a bummer.
Andy Holloway
The fantasy implications of this game for me were the comments by Rico Dowdle leaving, you know, leaving this performance. He came out. I mean, he only had nine yards in this game. He was one of my prize picks. Was under. And they just didn't run the ball well at all.
Jason Moore
Right.
Andy Holloway
A lot of it had to do with the Rams defense. But he said, like, basically the lack of opportunities, it's going to play a huge part in where he goes this off season. He says he wants to be somewhere where he gets the majority of the work.
Mike Wright
I hate to break it to you, Rico Dowdle, that's not going to happen.
Andy Holloway
It could happen.
Jason Moore
I think it will happen.
Mike Wright
It's not. Have you seen the list of free agents say nothing of.
Andy Holloway
Okay, no, there's free.
Jason Moore
Like the free agent running back.
Mike Wright
Yeah. I mean, I'm just saying Rico is not in the top two or three. There's. There's Ken Bone Walker. There's Breeze Hall. There's Travis etn. Like, if a team is going to go out there for a bell cow. For a bell cow and say, hey, opportunity. We need a running back that we're going to give a ton of work to. They're not going to go out and get Rico. So that I just. I agree with Rico's hopes and desires. I'm happy that he feels that way. But there's a lot of quarterbacks out there that want to start where they just can't.
Andy Holloway
I suppose he had the same ambitions leaving Dallas last year.
Mike Wright
Right.
Jason Moore
But my pushback would be there. He's not. He's not in the same tier.
Andy Holloway
I mean, couldn't he go and be the New York jets starting running back next year? Couldn't Rico do that? I'm looking at teams right now.
Jason Moore
I'm saying there's. There's going to be teams that don't want to pay the Breeze hall price. That don't want to pay. Well, Breeze hall is the only one. I think you're like, that guy's getting paid. Ken Walker should get a decent contract.
Andy Holloway
I could see he might just go over Walker.
Jason Moore
Yeah, it could happen. I think Rico ends up with a starting job. But he is. He's 28. So he's still. He's not like Breeze hall and Walker.
Andy Holloway
What about. What about Kansas City?
Jason Moore
Sure, just go. Just be the new Kareem Hunt and just soak up a bunch of touchdowns.
Andy Holloway
Tennessee, Kansas City, New York, the Jets.
Jason Moore
It's funny about this statement. I feel like the Panthers. The Panthers are only going to be in the running for Rico if he goes out and no one's offering him stuff.
Andy Holloway
Correct.
Jason Moore
Because the Panthers have all the money in Chuba. You can't.
Andy Holloway
And Jonathan Brooks should be back.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
You can't give two guys a starter contract.
Andy Holloway
No, no, no.
Jason Moore
That would be a waste of money.
Andy Holloway
The Packers.
Mike Wright
And you got Javante as a free agent. Yeah. Yeah. Who showed better than Rico this year?
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Yeah. The Packers 27, the Bears 31.
Mike Wright
Oh, brother.
Andy Holloway
One of the greatest games I've ever.
Mike Wright
Seen that was Keep getting away with it Wild. The one crazy stat. I mean, there's a million crazy stats on this game, but on the course of the season, the Bears ran zero offensive plays while in the lead and they won two thirds of the games. Wild.
Andy Holloway
I just.
Jason Moore
That seems impossible.
Mike Wright
I know. It's. That's why it's a crazy.
Andy Holloway
Take the lead on the final possession and don't touch it again.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
That's the only way for that to happen.
Mike Wright
So McManus the Jake. Oh man.
Jason Moore
Kickers. Kickers be kicking this week.
Andy Holloway
Tyler Loop was thrilled with McManus's performance.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
And the. I mean why we got to get kickers out of.
Jason Moore
It's a. It was a really far kick for Cam Little, you know, and. And high stress. They're right at the end of the Hurry up, go kick this field goal that they probably shouldn't have been allowed to kick in the first place. But it was a what a 50 plus. And if he drains that.
Andy Holloway
It's funny because you do. You do expect every kick, no matter what, to go in in the playoffs.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Andy Holloway
Like you need to be. You need to be 100% as a kicker. The Bears, the fourth down play.
Mike Wright
Oh my goodness.
Andy Holloway
By.
Jason Moore
Yep.
Andy Holloway
Caleb Williams was on. Nobody can do that. Nobody can do that.
Mike Wright
His leg was hit as he's like jumping out of it and then rockets a ball 30 yards downfield on the button. It's. It was. And that play doesn't happen. And they don't. I mean really.
Andy Holloway
It's one of those 27 to 16. At that point that game is over. If that is an incomplete path.
Mike Wright
There's like 12 plays where it's like if this one play didn't happen, they can't possibly win the game. And all of them happened, which has been happening for the Bears all season long. Like it's the exact opposite of what you're used to from the Bears. They just keep winning these games from behind the.
Andy Holloway
Here's the top five teams in percentage of the game that they're trailing the Giants for.
Jason Moore
Offensive snaps.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. So offensive snaps. Are they in the lead? Are they trailing the Giants or. The only one team made the playoffs and it was the Bears at 49%. Vikings, Buccaneers, Dolphins, Giants are the other ones and they just overcome. And now you go into this next game. Look, everyone's going to say the Rams are going to run away with this game. They're not. They're not going to.
Mike Wright
Well, they might for three quarters but watch out.
Andy Holloway
The Rams have to go to a 15 degree soldier field. California boy Matthew Stafford slash Dome boy Matthew Stafford in the elements. This is going to be. I don't. I'm not saying that the Bears are going to blow them away or anything. I just think it's going to be an amazing game again.
Mike Wright
Yeah, it should be really fun. I so far the playoffs have.
Andy Holloway
Do we have a line yet for that game?
Mike Wright
I'll check.
Andy Holloway
I bet we do. Kyle would probably chime in if you.
Jason Moore
Have a Kyle, what do you think it is? Try and predict.
Andy Holloway
What do I think it is? I think it is. I think it is the Rams minus one and a half.
Jason Moore
I was going to one and a half.
Mike Wright
It is the Rams minus three and a half.
Andy Holloway
Okay. Wow. Keep doubting them. That's probably fuel for Chicago. I'm just. It's exciting. It's fun. Colston freaking Loveland. I'm going to talk.
Mike Wright
Whoa.
Jason Moore
Ms. Loveland.
Andy Holloway
They're only. Only Trey McBride. And do I want Brock Bowers with a rookie or do I want Caleb Williams with Colston Loveland next year? If I had to choose Mike, which would you choose to go into the season? That is. I know we're riding high. We can. We got the whiffs of excellence.
Jason Moore
I've got the vapors. I mean, I need a fainting.
Andy Holloway
Jason, you made the comment this afternoon. It's perfectly appropriate. Stop worrying about all the other wide receivers. Just say who's the best pass catcher on the team.
Mike Wright
I prior to this game, and I said this last week, which really made Jeremy unhappy. But I was hoping the Bears won because I want to see one more game with this offense to just get clarity. When Rome is healthy and DJ Moore is out there and Luther Burden breakout has happened in the rear view mirror.
Andy Holloway
You just got that?
Mike Wright
Yeah. And it was like, oh, so it's Loveland. So now we get another sample. This coming week against the Rams.
Jason Moore
It wasn't. It wasn't just all the targets and the yards.
Andy Holloway
I mean, it matches 15 targets.
Mike Wright
He.
Jason Moore
Loveland had the most routes, like the most snaps out there. I mean, ahead of. Ahead of Rome, ahead of how Comet do.
Andy Holloway
Jay, that was.
Jason Moore
How many catches did you need?
Andy Holloway
Dude, nobody throws more random names into their price fix than you do from every once in a while.
Mike Wright
That was the one. That was the one that hurt me this week.
Jason Moore
Tommy Dremel, baby. They. They were running a lot of three wide. Honestly, then it was. It was Mr. Loveland. Cole Comet was not out there.
Mike Wright
Cole Comet was out there. Towards the end of the game, he ran in motion and was wide open.
Jason Moore
I missed a good player. Yeah, but.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you.
Mike Wright
Know, it's irrelevant.
Andy Holloway
All right, we'll take a quick break and then we'll come back and talk through the other matchups and get into the footies. This episode is supported by prize picks. Whether you're starting a new routine or making picks for the first time trying something new, well, that can be difficult. But in life and on prize picks, it always feels good to be right. I'M talking to Papa Josh here. It always feels good to be more right than Papa Josh. Look, Prize Picks now has early payouts. I just found out about this. If your player gets off to a hot start, you've got the option now to cash out on those winnings before the game even finishes. And they have a social feeds feature. You can share your prize picks with your friends. You can copy lineups from winners with one click. My only rule is you don't follow or accept friend requests from Papa Josh himself. Look, how simple is it to get started? We come from the app development world. We love the Prizepix app. It's super easy to use. It's just smart and clean and easy. It's not like anything else out there. It's made the sport watching experience super fun. It just adds some value to the sport watching experience and we absolutely love it. So you can download the Prize Picks app today. Use the code footballers to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That is the code footballers to get $50 in lineUps after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It's good to be right. What's going on? Foot clan. Running a business. Well, that's complicated. I mean, especially when you have to hire guys like Al Borland and Papa Josh. But there's probably about 55 programs that you need. Also expensive. And since they come from different companies, they don't always play nice with one another. What can you do, right? Odoo. That is what Odoo has all the business software that owners need. We're talking sales, CRM, manufacturing, websites, literally every kind of software and it's all on one platform. So it all works together seamlessly. I know firsthand what it's like to have everything all in one and you're not bouncing between different applications. It's quality software you're not sacrificing. And it's just a better experience than that hodgepodge of different programs that you're using right now. And what is the most amazing part of Odoo? It's that you're not paying that premium you'd expect to be paying for it. Why spend more on software programs that are less efficient when Odoo's simple software platform can handle everything for a fraction of the price? Discover how Odoo can take your business to the next level by visiting odoo.com. that's o d o o dot com. All right, we're on the other side. We're talking. Man, did I Sweat the Bills 27, Jacksonville 24. In this game, Gabe Davis suffered a season ending knee injury.
Jason Moore
Same knee, right?
Andy Holloway
Same knee, looked very bad. We also found out before the game Josh Palmer's on ir. So for the Bills to keep going on, it's going to be Brandon Cooks getting involved. It's going to be Shavers getting involved.
Jason Moore
Which Brandon Cooks with the huge catch. Yeah, like what?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I mean it's. That play was crazy too. That was the big time type of play. At the line of scrimmage, changing the play, back foot throw before Cooks breaks open and just, I would say, I.
Mike Wright
Would say the big time play was a quarterback sneak for 10 yards and a touchdown.
Jason Moore
What that was on what happened on that play, there was like there wasn't even defender who just was that turned around and watched it happen.
Andy Holloway
Was that a like huddle thing of like if he gets the first down, do you just let him roll all the way in?
Jason Moore
It for sure felt like that.
Andy Holloway
From 40 yards out, dude, it really.
Jason Moore
Really felt like that. I don't know if that was actually the call because.
Andy Holloway
Well, look they, I think it was.
Jason Moore
I think it was the only play for the Jags at that point.
Andy Holloway
There's always, there was the great debate, the, the never ending debate of do you take.
Jason Moore
Got to get the guy by getting the sword through yourself. It's the only move you had left.
Andy Holloway
Oh, to be able to get the.
Mike Wright
Ball back close enough to get to the neck.
Andy Holloway
But then look, a minute left on the clock. Trevor Lawrence had an opportunity first pass.
Jason Moore
I mean that one was not Trevor's fault. I thought a lot was Trevor's fault.
Andy Holloway
I thought that pass was Trevor's fault.
Jason Moore
Did you hit him in the hands? You got to catch that ball.
Andy Holloway
It was a little, it was a tight, tight window and so there was just a high risk throw on your first pass attempt. Yeah, but I mean, whatever. Look, Jacksonville had an amazing season. It's over. Yeah, it's over just like that. You had Brian Thomas Jr. Score here. You had Parker Washington.
Mike Wright
I'm Parker Washington is apparently really good. Really good.
Andy Holloway
The highest likelihood is all four of those guys are there next year and we all have to be like, oh, that's the high. I mean Parker Washington was a six round pick. He's on a rookie contract. Brian Thomas Jr's on a rookie contract. Travis Hunter obviously brand new rookie, rookie contract. And Jacoby Myers just signed an extension. So it seems like all four of those guys are going to be like.
Mike Wright
Feels like they should be playing Travis Hunter at cornerback.
Andy Holloway
Well, that, that is, that is one thing that'll get brought up. But he was also breaking out at wide receiver and as a weapon, like if you make a. You can make an authentic argument why each of those four is the best wide receiver. That fantasy wise next year at the end of the season. Yeah, I think you can.
Mike Wright
I agree. Which is great.
Andy Holloway
That's terrible. Yeah, well, it's just, you know, draft Lawrence, Buffalo. Yeah, they could use one wide receiver as good as those four. I'll never understand wasting elite quarterback years and not.
Mike Wright
I mean they tried. They went out and they drafted Keon Coleman in the. Was that a first round or the top of the second?
Andy Holloway
Shout out. Matthew golden, first touchdown. When golden and Coleman are making plays in the playoffs, you're like, oh my gosh.
Mike Wright
Golden has never won a game that he scored a touchdown in. So that is.
Andy Holloway
It's one of the hot stats in the weekend. The 49ers found a way George Kittle.
Mike Wright
Oh, that if I had Savage.
Andy Holloway
Oh, it's confirmed.
Mike Wright
Yeah, yeah.
Andy Holloway
It was actually immediately confirmed by Shanahan after the game.
Mike Wright
It was before that mid game. It was confirmed by the tequila bottle delivered to George Kittle.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I did see that. They were like thinking maybe it was for him. George Kittle out 49ers, 23.
Mike Wright
He's 32 years old right now. So let's say he makes it back halfway through this season and plays in 2026. You're not going to have the same George Kittle right off of an Achilles.
Andy Holloway
Injury and he's not going to be there at the beginning of the year.
Mike Wright
Right, that's what I mean. So he's basically deleted this year and then the following year when he's 34 still with an Achilles injury. This really does feel like that's the end of George Kittle as a. As a very important fantasy asset. It will probably never happen again.
Andy Holloway
Also means that San Francisco we'll have to figure out some pass catching weaponry in this off season. More than they maybe thought they had to.
Mike Wright
No IUK who they thought was going to be under contract a long time.
Andy Holloway
Peirce Law has not been good enough or healthy enough to be the only player you rely on. I imagine there'll be a landing spot in some discussions for free agent wide receivers.
Mike Wright
Although Juwan Jennings, Jen Nings, he's been the real deal.
Jason Moore
He's good.
Mike Wright
I look this.
Andy Holloway
Did the 49ers win or did the Eagles lose?
Mike Wright
I think I feel like both deserve credit. Both deserve credit. The Eagles deserve credit for losing in spectacular fashion with an offense that is so doggone bad. There's no pass rush from the 49ers and that didn't matter. It just didn't matter. It was complete ineptitude. Obviously we saw the in game in fighting between Sirianni and AJ Brown, which turned out to be a great coaching decision because the second half he. AJ Brown really came on strong as he disappeared. I think he's. And I don't know what they do with that contract. Obviously their offensive coordinator. This is the day after. And I can't believe we don't have news that he hasn't been fired yet. But it's coming. Never. Everybody knows. Oh, absolutely.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, he's packed.
Mike Wright
Yeah, for sure.
Andy Holloway
He's 100%.
Jason Moore
I'm ready to go.
Andy Holloway
He's ready to go. And look, it's just. It's wild. A.J. brown, big drops, man. You want the ball? Catch the ball. Eagles fans, they agree. They're very, very impatient.
Jason Moore
At least the sentiment that I have seen from Eagles fans is they want. They. They want to borrow our cannon.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Jason Moore
Because they want to load everyone into the cannon and fire them into the sun.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Yeah. Well, we've got more guys to send out before they can borrow it. And then the boring one. Patriots 16, Chargers 3. There was the. With the hot take. Immediate reaction. The Patriots still haven't beat a good team this year. Kind of true in this one. I mean, I wouldn't say that the Patriots played well. No, I would say the defenses for both teams played very well. The first touchdown pass, the only touchdown pass of the game came with nine minutes left in the fourth quarter from either team. Drake May made plays with his legs. I thought that were awesome. I thought Ramondra was the best offensive player on either side of the game.
Mike Wright
They should have kept feeding him the ball. He was from the beginning to the end. He was so consistent and just a.
Andy Holloway
Very good in the passing game.
Mike Wright
Yeah, it was. It was very good. The Patriots defense was outstanding. Afterwards, after the game, there was reports that like Chargers were going and talking to like the Patriots defenders going like we. We had no idea what your coverage was. And so it's. Rabel's a good coach.
Andy Holloway
It's really hard not to see them getting through this next round too because they're just going to play the winner of the Steelers, Texans and anything can happen. I know, but you're going to be at home, right?
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
So I don't know. They look. They look great on the defensive side and if their offense can figure it out I feel like a lot of our commentary on these games is going to make other fan bases mad. That's what I realized while I'm talking. Yeah.
Mike Wright
Oh, of course. People are. This is a sensitive time for a lot of people.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
And when we make jokes, they can hurt Jackson Steelers.
Andy Holloway
We're recording this before the game is played, so we don't have a reaction. If I was going to have a reaction, I'd be like, oh, boy. I'd be like, that's what happened. Here's my reaction. That's what happens when you have a pass rush against Aaron Rodgers. That's what happens.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
That's how I see it going to.
Mike Wright
Probably true.
Andy Holloway
But this one might be pretty boring as well.
Jason Moore
Yeah, we'll see.
Andy Holloway
We don't know. We're talking about it. You already know what happened and we'll talk about it again on Thursday. But the Dolphins fired Mike McDaniel. That's. That's over.
Jason Moore
He has already interviewed for the Cleveland job. Was that what I saw?
Andy Holloway
Yeah. He's also interviewed. Isn't he going to interview for the offensive coordinator job for Washington? Or at least there's some interest there because he has a relationship with Dan Quinn. I thought which. That one seemed interesting to me.
Mike Wright
I would.
Andy Holloway
McDaniel with. With Jaden would make me happy that. Oh, wait, they hired David.
Mike Wright
No.
Jason Moore
Yeah, they hired David. I was gonna say that. That would not.
Andy Holloway
Bringing in Mike McDonald. Oh, the Lions. The Lions. I'm sorry. The Lions was the one I was thinking about because they got offensive coordinator.
Jason Moore
Sensational. If. If McDaniel can't find a Mike McDaniel's.
Mike Wright
Head coaching job, then he's already booked up like four plus head coaching interviews. And the fact that I think because he wasn't. Whatever they call the Bloody Monday or whatever the Monday is where all the coaches are fired. He wasn't fired then. And it seemed like he retained his job. Feels like it gave him a boost of confidence around the league. Like, oh, he wasn't supposed to be fired. It was only after Harbaugh was fired that they let him go. So let's scoop him up. I think he ends up a head coach next year.
Andy Holloway
It's wild. There's a lot of what Stefanski for sure, Harbaugh for sure. And probably Mike McDaniel. Immediate fires to hires.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
It's just teams that, like, they're. They just ran out of gas in that place. But everybody respects them and wants them to be a head coach. Todd Bowles is staying ahead coach. So they they're retaining him and firing everyone else.
Jason Moore
The grizzard of Oz is.
Andy Holloway
Yes, gone. Yeah, it was. Didn't work out. So I think that's the main headlines, unless you guys have anything else you want to bring up. Matt LaFleur. He's not going to get fired. He's going to get extended in Green Bay. It was. I will say this. It was terrible like that. That's a pretty big collapse.
Jason Moore
Sure.
Andy Holloway
I felt like it was for the second time. It was a pretty bad mismanagement of the clock. The time the play calls, things that you're responsible for as a head coach fall, it falls on you. But the totality of the work he's done in Green Bay is greater than.
Jason Moore
The one game that was going to be the point of. Yeah, he had a bad game. Go Green bay. Please fire LaFleur.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, let's. I'll take him.
Mike Wright
It's irrelevant, man. I have come to realize that hoping that a great coach gets let go and is on the market is irrelevant. They will never come to Arizona. No. No great coach would ever be like. Like. We're not on Stefanski's list. We're not on Harbaugh's list. We're not.
Andy Holloway
Like, they're on the up and comers list.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
We're on the guy that's never had the chance.
Mike Wright
Like, you got to go there and turn that around if you want a job.
Andy Holloway
We're on the Vance.
Mike Wright
Turns out no one can do it.
Andy Holloway
The Vance Joseph list.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Oh, Cardinals are going to interview Michael Floor.
Mike Wright
Yes. So any lafleur? Any Coops?
Jason Moore
What about Peter?
Andy Holloway
Any Harbaugh?
Mike Wright
Any Harbaugh? Those. That's the. Those are the names.
Andy Holloway
All right. Are we. Are we good to go? Are we ready to.
Mike Wright
Oh, my goodness.
Andy Holloway
Rock the footies?
Mike Wright
I guess so. Welcome to the annual footy award show. Featuring. Featuring performance of the year, the Waiver Wire Wonder, the Poofiest pants award, and many more. It's the annual footy award show.
Andy Holloway
Oh, that's right. It is time you voted.
Mike Wright
That was a live band, by the way.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Jason Moore
Well, we're going to need him in a little bit, so don't go too far.
Andy Holloway
Right. Yeah. All number ones, no number twos. Jason, I think we're going to let you kick it off. We got all of your votes. We've got all the footies set aside, ready to be sent off to the winners. And Jason's going to lead the way with our very first.
Mike Wright
I see the first one. The golden envelope performance of the year, which Is the performance of the year. That's what that means.
Andy Holloway
Yes. You have impressive single week performance.
Mike Wright
So last. Last year was Josh Allen. This year you got Gibbs Henry, Jonathan Taylor, Trevor Lawrence, Pukinakua and cow Pitts. All had monstrous performances. Now I'm curious if you guys have thoughts on this. Who did you vote for?
Jason Moore
I wanted to vote for Derek Henry because he helped carry my team to a championship. I gave it to Kyle Pitts.
Andy Holloway
I did too. I did too.
Mike Wright
I voted for that championship week there, Kennedy. Because it was championship week. All right. And the winner is. Drumroll, please. Derrick Henry. Week 17.
Jason Moore
The YETI.
Mike Wright
Yeah, the YETI scores 45 and a half fantasy points. 36 for 216 and 4 with 31% of the vote. And the runner up was indeed the best tight end performance of all time.
Jason Moore
Kyle Pitts in week 50 mean the 25% to 31%.
Mike Wright
Yeah, that's pretty close. Pretty close. But the king, your trophy is in the mail.
Jason Moore
We do.
Andy Holloway
They ship to Cabo.
Jason Moore
We should.
Mike Wright
We ship everywhere.
Jason Moore
Andy in the footies. We should see in the of like the percentage of people, how many people are champs. You know what I mean? I'm like. Because, you know, the audience of the show, it fluctuates.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
You should stick around because we're here all year long and we're giving out good content, good stuff. But I mean, a lot of the.
Mike Wright
People that stick around stuck around because they were.
Jason Moore
Because they were champs.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
So I mean, you know what I mean? Like, I'm a champ. You might want to vote for Derek Henry because it's like the Jameer Gibbs week was bigger.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. That was amazing. It was week 12.
Jason Moore
All right, fantasy reapers, man of the year. Which players injury hurt fantasy managers the most? Last year's winner, of course, Christian McCaffrey. However, this year the nominees were Malik Neighbors. Jaden Daniels, James Connor, Sam laporta, Garrett Wilson and Mike Evans. Which injury hurt us the most? Drumroll, please. Oh, Malik neighbors with a 70%.
Andy Holloway
He ran away with it.
Jason Moore
I thought the runner.
Andy Holloway
I didn't run away. Limped away with it.
Jason Moore
Whatever. Or with his cane. I thought Jaden was going to win. What I did.
Mike Wright
No.
Jason Moore
Yeah, it's.
Andy Holloway
I don't know if you have two canes. Is that officially crutches or could somebody actually have two canes? I think that's a whole. I think a cane looks really good. I think a cane looks really cool.
Jason Moore
Right.
Andy Holloway
If you have to have like a limp and walk with something, a cane is cool.
Mike Wright
But two canes Would you rather look cool with two canes? But you still have to lift yourself the way you do with crutches. But you don't get the.
Andy Holloway
Oh, that would be tough on the arms.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Who won it? Malik neighbors.
Jason Moore
Yep.
Andy Holloway
70% of the vote. All right. Our third award, the poopiest pants award. This is the player who, despite high expectations, let fantasy managers down over and.
Jason Moore
Over again, filled their pants.
Andy Holloway
Yes. In 2024, the winner was Travis Etienne, who ended up bouncing back, having a great year. This year's nominees were Justin Jefferson. Of course, in the first round, Lamar Jackson. Interesting. Brian Thomas, Jr. Lad McConkey. Marvin Harrison. Chuba Hubbard. And the winner is.
Mike Wright
A gross list.
Andy Holloway
With 52% of the vote.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Andy Holloway
Justin Jefferson, whose pants have been filled in part by his quarterbacks.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
52%.
Mike Wright
There was a twosome going number two there. That is not your poop, Justin. Take those pants off. That is not someone.
Andy Holloway
That's right.
Jason Moore
That's right.
Andy Holloway
Do you want to guess the runner up?
Mike Wright
Several people pooped your pants, Justin.
Andy Holloway
Multiple people. Runner up was Brian Thomas. Brian Thomas Jr. 36%.
Jason Moore
I thought Brian Thomas might take it. Jefferson had a few games for us.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, well, too little, too late. I mean, and too little. Even on the good ones.
Mike Wright
Yeah, for sure. Could you imagine, like, going into this season that if I said Justin Jefferson plays 17 games, is not injured, and will win the poopiest pants award? The hoodie for the poop. That seems impossible.
Andy Holloway
That's right.
Mike Wright
All you got to do is play. But apparently you got to have a quarterback.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
All right, next up, the waiver wire wonder. This is always one of those picks that wins championships for people. Which undrafted waiver wire stud was the best signing yet? A ton of options here. Trevor Lawrence. Awesome. After he got picked up, Jacoby Brissette. We couldn't believe how often he was still allowed to be a streaming candidate. Rico Dowdle. Woody Marks. Kyle Manangai. Do, do, do, do, do. Christian Watson, once he returned from injury, was very good. Wandale Robinson. Sneaky good this year, yet huge. Michael Wilson, Alec Pierce and Harold Fannin.
Jason Moore
Jr. Do you know where Wondale finished?
Mike Wright
I want to say it was like wide receiver 17 or something.
Jason Moore
19, and he didn't play in the final week.
Mike Wright
Crazy. All right, well, let's see if he won. Drumroll, please. He didn't.
Jason Moore
Oh.
Mike Wright
The winner was by a wide vote, Michael Jerry Rice. Wilson.
Andy Holloway
Wow.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that was my vote.
Mike Wright
54% of the vote. Runner up. To give you an idea of. There's a lot of different Options here. With that many names, to have someone get 54% is surprising. The second highest vote getter, Rico dowdle at only 11% of the vote. So this was people Michael Wilson just ran away with. Michael Wilson was the best waiver wire pickup this year.
Andy Holloway
All of those other names, literally every single other name. Hot and cold from the point of pickup. Michael Wilson only hot? Pretty much, yeah. Maybe that's why.
Jason Moore
That's why I give it to Wilson. I'm surprised that Rico got that far up there.
Andy Holloway
Well, he had. He had a beautiful little.
Jason Moore
It was just a couple three game run. You won those weeks. All right. The fantasy quarterback of the year. We're talking the draft position, the big game performances, the impact to your teams. Last year's winner was Jaden Daniels.
Andy Holloway
I miss him.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Please come back, Jaden, and be good at football. This year's nominees, Josh Allen, Drake May. Trevor Lawrence. Dak Prescott. Patrick Mahomes and Matthew Stafford. Drum roll, please. Your fantasy quarterback of the year is of course with 52% of the vote.
Andy Holloway
It's gonna be Drake, isn't it?
Jason Moore
Drake. Drake May. May.
Mike Wright
It's gonna go.
Andy Holloway
It's gonna be my.
Jason Moore
Matthew Stafford was the runner up with 21% of the vote.
Andy Holloway
You know what? He's very deserving of that honor. I mean, Stafford was generally undrafted. Yeah. Was late rounds.
Mike Wright
Yep. And I think Trevor Lawrence is equally deserving.
Andy Holloway
But Stafford could have been in the waiver wire wonder.
Mike Wright
The best thing about Drake May is he was one of those easy to target. Like we talked about this going into this season, that our two late round targets later were Bo Nix and Drake May because they were young guys who ran the ball, they could break out. And if you targeted him, not only did you have a great season and he exceeded all expectation, but through the playoffs and especially championship week, he finished. You know, he did what you dream of, which is help people win championships.
Andy Holloway
Fantasy running back of the year, guys.
Jason Moore
Don'T let me down.
Andy Holloway
We know the story here. Last year. Last year it was Saquon. We'll be quick here. McCaffrey, Taylor Gibbs, Achan, Bijan Cook and Henry Cook leading the league in rushing yardage.
Mike Wright
It's going to be cmc. Bijan's the only one that could barely.
Andy Holloway
Need a drum roll here, but let's do is. Oh, wow.
Jason Moore
Closer than you thought.
Andy Holloway
BAM KNIGHT. Christian McCaffrey with 63% of the vote.
Mike Wright
Bijan number two.
Andy Holloway
Bijan number two. But with 11%.
Mike Wright
Oh, my goodness. Man, that's even. That's a wider gap than The Michael Wilson.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Can you imagine it took me so long to remember Bam Knight's name for the joke too. That's about how relevant he was.
Jason Moore
You imagine a fantasy team with both those guys on the roster.
Andy Holloway
I can. It would be a person who won both of their leagues.
Mike Wright
Yeah, that's. That's very, very helpful for fantasy. The fantasy wide receiver of the year. I feel like this is a two man race here between JSN and Puka Nakua. But also in the running are Amon Ross, St. Brown, George Pickens, who when you factor in draft capital, where they finish versus where you draft them, he should be high up there. And Jamar Chase. Awesome studs. But the wide receiver of the year for the footy can only go to one and I don't know who it's going to. Oh, pretty wide. Pretty. I thought this would be closer. JSN was 62% of the vote. Your footy is in the mail. Yeah, there was pukinakua down to 29%.
Jason Moore
There was no other choice for me.
Mike Wright
Their stats were so similar by the draft.
Andy Holloway
Spot was just better.
Mike Wright
That's fair. That's fair. Second in the first. Really in the back of the first to be what he was. And JSN was like you hoped, but as many people hoped, felt like he couldn't do it with Darnold.
Andy Holloway
You have a very tough category, Mike.
Jason Moore
This one's going to be, oh, the fantasy tight end of the year, Trey McBride and then a bunch of jabronis.
Mike Wright
I want to. I want to guess. Guess goose this with the percentages.
Jason Moore
Oh, okay.
Mike Wright
Assuming it's Trey McBride, which we don't know.
Jason Moore
I. I don't know.
Andy Holloway
Okay, so we think so. McBride, Kittle, Pitts, Goddard, Warren fan. And we're the nominees.
Mike Wright
I'm going to set the line at 86% of the vote.
Andy Holloway
Okay, I'll take the over.
Jason Moore
86 is a good foundational line there. Yeah, I'm going to. I'm going to go over.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Andy Holloway
All right.
Jason Moore
Drumroll.
Mike Wright
What?
Jason Moore
That one guy voted for Kittle.
Andy Holloway
Oh, that sucks.
Jason Moore
And the winner is. Shocking stuff. Here it is. Trey McBride.
Andy Holloway
What's the number?
Jason Moore
Okay, so the runner up was Harold Fannin Jr. Okay, shout out to him. He had 4%.
Mike Wright
I'll take the over.
Andy Holloway
Are we about 90 then?
Jason Moore
90% for Trey McBride. All right. I'm not sure. Okay, I vote for Harold Fanny Jr. I get it. Because it was like, nope, this is an undrafted player. But no, the most receptions ever for a tight end.
Andy Holloway
Come on, people. Yeah, Trey McBride. 126 receptions. All right, we'll take a break. We'll come back with the rookie of the Year, the breakout player of the year, the steal of the draft, the comeback player of the year and some of the other big awards in just a moment.
Jason Moore

Andy Holloway
All right, we're back into the footy awards. The rookie of the year, Jaden Daniels took this home last year. Lot of nominees. Jackson Dart, Scatterboo, Genti, Trevo, Omari and Hampton quinshawn. Judkins, Harvey McMillan, Igbuka Fanon and Warren. And amazingly, amazingly, one of the best fantasy rookies. Not even nominated for maybe the Future in Colston Loveland. He's not even in the list.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he didn't deserve.
Andy Holloway
He just didn't play enough. All right, the winner is.
Jason Moore
That's what I think it'll be.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. You're just looking at me. With just 21% of the vote showing how tight it was.
Jason Moore
Travion. Yes.
Andy Holloway
Henderson. 21% of the vote. Runner up was. Do you want to take a guess?
Jason Moore
The runner up was Ted Rode McMillan.
Andy Holloway
With 16% of the vote.
Jason Moore
Hey, oh.
Andy Holloway
Hey, oh.
Mike Wright
I voted for Kim Scatter. Boo.
Jason Moore
That's you got to vote with your heart.
Mike Wright
That's right. The heart wants.
Jason Moore
And honestly, when I went back and looked, the scatteraboo run was longer than I remember it being.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, the NFL was better when he was playing, man.
Mike Wright
It was. Sure was. I mean, the Cam Scatter Boo run, you felt like it was three games. He didn't get injured until week eight.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, man, that did. It felt shorter.
Mike Wright
He was awesome.
Andy Holloway
He is awesome, I guess because there was a time period of like him becoming the dude and it was rough and then he was great. Yeah. All right.
Mike Wright
All right. We are up to breakout player of the year, aka last year's Brian Thomas Jr. There's no guarantee of future success, but the nominees for this year are.
Jason Moore
Disclaimers are.
Mike Wright
Drake May, Javante Williams, Jalen Warren, George, Chris Olave and Michael Wilson. That is George Pickett.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, yeah. No, I. I mean, I think I.
Mike Wright
Know the breakout winner, but I feel.
Andy Holloway
Like there's an argument for a few of these guys.
Mike Wright
There is certainly. I mean, I would say there's an argument for everyone on the list. I don't even remember who I voted for. Probably George.
Andy Holloway
All right, let's find out.
Mike Wright
All right, drum roll, please. The 2025 fantasy football breakout player of the year is Drake may with 42% of the vote. So it was a pretty clear winner there, lacking runner up George at 21%.
Andy Holloway
I sort of. Yeah, I get it. I mean, quarterback's a tough one because it's so impactful, but I feel like George was very deserving as well.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I mean, they, they both broke out into the top five at their position. What did Drake May finish?
Andy Holloway
Remember he had that long run where he wasn't really finishing above 9 or 10 on a weekly basis.
Mike Wright
Yes, but.
Andy Holloway
And then he finished so strong that it kind of wiped out.
Mike Wright
Finish the season as the quarterback. 3.
Andy Holloway
Did he really? Yeah, I think that's pretty good.
Jason Moore
The issue with George was George finished.
Mike Wright
As the wide receiver.
Jason Moore
5. We had the, what the back to.
Mike Wright
Back weeks where it was like, oh, week 1415.
Jason Moore
There he is. There's George, who doesn't care about football and putting effort in. And then he was very good again. All right, the steal of the draft. Which player was the absolute best value in the draft compared to their ADP? Last year's winner, Brian Thomas Jr. There is no guarantee this year he stole this year.
Andy Holloway
He stole your draft.
Jason Moore
Yes. Goodness gracious.
Mike Wright
That was the thief of the draft.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Brian Thomas Jr. All right, so the nominees this year we got. We had James cook in the third, Trey McBride in the middle of the third. JSN at the back of the third, Devonte Adams back of the fourth, George in the sixth, DeAndre Swift also in the sixth, Chris Olave in the seventh, Travis Etien in the eighth, and Javante Williams at the back of the ninth. Round.
Andy Holloway
So many good names.
Jason Moore
The steal of the draft. Drum roll, please.
Andy Holloway
So many good names. Woo.
Jason Moore
It's tight.
Mike Wright
I hope it's my guy.
Jason Moore
The winner was 23%. The runner up was 20 oh.
Andy Holloway
JSN and Pickens.
Jason Moore
Pickens. The winner of the steal of the draft was Jackson, Smith and Jigba with 23%. And the runner up was Javante Williams.
Andy Holloway
Okay, okay.
Mike Wright
And the steel of the draft being in the third round, that is. That's tough to do.
Andy Holloway
All right.
Mike Wright
He was very good.
Andy Holloway
The comeback player of the year. Which fantasy player amazed you the most in their return to relevance last year, J.K. dobbins won this award in his great one season in Los Angeles.
Jason Moore
He's eligible again next year.
Andy Holloway
Nominees were Matthew Stafford, Trevor Lawrence, Javante Williams, Chris Olave, Kyle Pitts, and Dallas Goddard, who also got it done in the playoffs as well in his one. In his one game. The drum roll please.
Mike Wright
This has got to be Stafford.
Andy Holloway
It's not. The winner with 29% of the vote, Chris. All heavy. Yes. The runner up, 28% of the vote. Basically a tie. Alave is 29.
Mike Wright
Wow.
Andy Holloway
You know who it was? It was Javante Williams.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Okay.
Jason Moore
The people around the line.
Andy Holloway
I mean, that's a huge comeback.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Story.
Mike Wright
Well, I mean, Chris Olave was unwanted and you assumed was one injury away. Like, it was like, if I draft Olave, that's fine to get started at the course of the season, but like, yeah, who do I plan with Exactly.
Jason Moore
But Javante was. Javante was a keeper for you, Papa Josh. Is that correct?
Andy Holloway
We mocked that.
Jason Moore
So we were so happy.
Andy Holloway
So happy.
Jason Moore
We're like, oh, man. A keeper spot. You had to waste it with Javante.
Andy Holloway
And then it. And then he led him all the way to the quarterfinals. I heard an audible laugh back there.
Jason Moore
Semifinals.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I know.
Jason Moore
Respect. The man's third, fourth place finish.
Mike Wright
I like disrespecting him personally.
Andy Holloway
The same.
Mike Wright
Good job, Andy. All right, we are on to the playoff king. Who drove managers to championships during the coveted weeks 15, 16 and 17 last year was Jameer Gibbs. He did not do that this year. This year you had the two best quarterback performances in the modern fantasy football playoff stretch of Trevor Lawrence and Brock Purdy. Derek Henry. Including that Week 17 championship. Christian McCaffrey, dog. Bijan Robinson, running back four, running back seven, running back two in those weeks. Unbelievable. Mr. Olave had two wide receiver two finishes in the playoffs. Puka Nakua, Trey McBride, dog. And Kyle Pitts with, of course.
Jason Moore
And then Kyle Pitts.
Mike Wright
He had the tight end one performance.
Jason Moore
I love all time tight end one. I mean, almost everyone that played Kyle Pitts was an automatic win in that first.
Mike Wright
So you go on to the next round.
Jason Moore
Tight end three, championship week. Let's get it done. Kyle Pitts, tight end 38, 30.
Mike Wright
There are 32 teams. All right, drum roll, please.
Andy Holloway
Playoff king.
Mike Wright
Playoff king, I'm guessing was going to be on Mike's roster. Winner, Bijan Robinson, of course.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that's my guy.
Mike Wright
When you are the running back four, followed by the running back seven, followed by the running back two on a week.
Jason Moore
And that running back two was like 40 points.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I mean, Bijan was awesome. Got 37% of the vote. Brock Purdy was 17% of the vote, was great. But Bijan just did what he needed to do. Bijan, your footy. It's in the mail.
Andy Holloway
All righty.
Jason Moore
What a guy.
Mike Wright
Keep checking.
Andy Holloway
We have four more awards.
Jason Moore
This one is brand new. For this year, for the footy awards, we got the bummer of the year.
Mike Wright
This is good.
Jason Moore
It's not the biggest bust of the year. It's not the poopiest pants of the year. One hurts the most, but it's just a bummer.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
The way that it turned out.
Mike Wright
It's like a sick tummy, right? That's a bomber.
Jason Moore
Ameca ebuka. It was the best of times.
Mike Wright
It was the worst of times.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. My goodness.
Jason Moore
Brian Thomas Jr.
Andy Holloway
It was the worst of times. It was the worst of times.
Jason Moore
Caleb Johnson.
Mike Wright
It was no times. It was no times.
Jason Moore
It was the no times. Oh, you didn't see Kenny Gainwell coming, huh? Bucky Irving.
Andy Holloway
And then that kick returned.
Jason Moore
And Travis Hunter, the winner of the new bummer of the year award goes to. He's back, baby. Brian Thomas Jr. Your footy is in the mail.
Mike Wright
He just. He knew last year after what he did and he won all those footies, it was going to be hard to win more footies this year. It really is. And then he's like, wait, wait, wait. I can control my destiny. If I suck so much, if I bum everyone, yeah, I can win.
Jason Moore
I mean, comeback player of the year is in contention now.
Mike Wright
It's easier for you.
Andy Holloway
We do have a new award this year. One more New award. And it may be just. Oh, man. Just be one year.
Jason Moore
Dying to know.
Andy Holloway
I know a lot of people. With anticipation. The new Meow man of the year award nominees included players such as Mason Taylor, tight end for the New York Football jets, who had one reception all year while the jets were leading and broke no tackles. Other nominees include.
Mike Wright
Drum roll, please.
Andy Holloway
Drum roll, please. The winner with nearly.
Jason Moore
Give them 100%.
Andy Holloway
With nearly 100% of the vote, Mason Taylor.
Mike Wright
Couple people abstain.
Andy Holloway
Somebody voted for Kittle. I don't know why. It's weird.
Jason Moore
How dare you.
Andy Holloway
All right, are we.
Mike Wright
Are we to the main event that the special time of the two biggest awards in not just the United States, but the world.
Jason Moore
I would say not just the Milky Way galaxy.
Andy Holloway
Right.
Mike Wright
But the universe.
Jason Moore
The universe.
Andy Holloway
The universe.
Jason Moore
Let's go. Prove me wrong.
Mike Wright
The first award up is the nickname of the year. Voters were able to choose up to three favorites last year. Lazer Baker Mayfield. This year, George for George Pickens. Meet Higgins for T. Higgins. Gillen Gabriel, AKA Dylan Gabriel. Epic IO Manor. Ella Guymanor. Meowson Taylor. Mason Taylor. Beal Krosky for Jaquori Krosky. Merritt. Tonjas Mcbaff Basketball for Jake Tonjas D.K. mike Cath and Colson Loveland. Caston Dogland and Mr. Loveland.
Jason Moore
Mr. Loveland.
Andy Holloway
All right, some of these just before you reveal some of them made worse by explaining them.
Mike Wright
I was trying to time up the music.
Andy Holloway
Oh, I know. I know you were. But it's. It almost just shines a little bright light on our idiocy.
Mike Wright
Yeah, we're dumb. And drumroll, please. This is a big one. This is a big one.
Jason Moore
The winner, Bill Cross.
Mike Wright
Of course. I mean, when you have.
Jason Moore
Is Mr. Loveland at least second?
Mike Wright
Mr. Loveland is not even. At least what? No runner up was Tonjas MC basketball at 35% of the vote.
Andy Holloway
I can't believe people loved it that much.
Mike Wright
In third place with 34% right there with Tonjas, Meowson Taylor.
Jason Moore
Wow.
Andy Holloway
Does that mean we have. I mean, we've got to have hundreds of nicknames at this point.
Mike Wright
Oh, wow. Look at this now.
Andy Holloway
So it's very close, though.
Mike Wright
Meat Higgins was just two. Two votes behind Meowson. So, I mean, this was. This was a close race, but.
Andy Holloway
And Colston Loveland. Mr. Loveland was right there, too. 32, 34. 34, 35.
Mike Wright
Bill Crosky ran away with it.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Andy Holloway
Wow. They enjoyed that.
Jason Moore
Yeah. That may influence this vinyl.
Andy Holloway
It might footy here. All right, we do have one more.
Jason Moore
It Is the show moment of the year. It's time voters were allowed to choose three moments. I also get the lights. I did not know that. Yes, you do. With such nominees and moments like the Bill Crosky jokes. The falcon mailbag. Jo Drop. Oh, yes, me and my Trevo Henderson hate blockers. Meet Higgins with the soft tissue issues. Nard Attack starring Juwan Jennings.
Mike Wright
Starring nard Attack.
Jason Moore
Jason hating fantasy football. After week four, Jason goes missing.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
The Cardinals meltdown after the Tennessee Titans game. Jason as Cam Scatterboo for Halloween. And finally, the falcon charging all of his delivery meals on the company card.
Andy Holloway
Lots of good show moments and a shout out to the production team who put those together in a highlight reel for everybody voting. You can watch all of those on the YouTubes.
Jason Moore
The winner is.
Andy Holloway
I really don't know.
Jason Moore
Of course you do. Is Bill Crosby.
Andy Holloway
Bill Crosby swept it.
Mike Wright
Bill Cross could kill two stones with one bird.
Jason Moore
Yeah, man. It was going to be a great year. It was going to be a great year. And then he vanished.
Mike Wright
What's funny is if you look at some of the statistics of rookies this year, Bill Crosky ended up with a pretty.
Jason Moore
I know he was okay, pretty good. But I think he had the most rushing touchdowns for a rookie.
Mike Wright
Probably.
Andy Holloway
He was just still sucked. Well, it was so unpredictable. It was twice.
Jason Moore
No, we knew when it was going.
Andy Holloway
To happen twice during weeks.
Jason Moore
Crowd went out with.
Mike Wright
Oh, why was it crowd on the nickname?
Jason Moore
Oh, man.
Andy Holloway
It was a late addition. Bill Crosky with 53% of the vote of Cardinals meltdown with 37% of the vote. Meet Higgins was the third and Jason is Cam Scatter Boo finished fourth.
Jason Moore
Meat Higgins. That's some staying power because that was super real early in the year.
Mike Wright
His meat.
Andy Holloway
