Andy Holloway
I just had a realization that you're
Mike Wright
a fair weather fan. I know what is. I know what his real.
Andy Holloway
I know what.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, baby.
Mike Wright
It's gonna be me also.
Andy Holloway
What? Go to my camera. What are you talking about?
Jason Moore
Mike is wearing a different hat.
Andy Holloway
What are you talking about?
Jason Moore
Normally wears well, it's just wearing me
Andy Holloway
and the champs, you know, last year's champs. Probably this year's champs.
Jason Moore
You're a big OKC fan.
Andy Holloway
Always have been, guys.
Jason Moore
Well, no, I remember you were a big warriors fan during those heyday, actually.
Andy Holloway
No, no, I know, but.
Jason Moore
Big Chiefs fan.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Yankees.
Jason Moore
You like the Astros a lot during their whole controversy. I know you were a big fan of.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And despised trash cans.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Yeah. Welcome into the show. Second half of our draft recap.
Andy Holloway
What are you going to do, man? Sometimes you got to get to jump on the train.
Jason Moore
NFC winners and losers on this show today. But first we need some sort of. Can we get the mic announcement horn of some Sort.
Andy Holloway
We need the big horn. Yeah.
Jason Moore
We do have our draft week giveaway winners to announce here on the show. So anybody that picked up the ultimate draft kit over the weekend or has purchased it since we started pre orders in February, they were all entered to win a Jamar Chase signed jersey, b John Robinson jersey, and a listener league spot, which have been picked out. We also threw out some extra swag to some folks out there. Let's start here. The Jamar Chase jersey goes to Who? I just wanted to put. Put the producer on the spot.
Andy Holloway
There we go.
Jason Moore
There was a chance.
Mike Wright
There it is.
Jason Moore
Adam Johnson with the Jamar Chase signed jersey.
Andy Holloway
Congratulations.
Jason Moore
Oh, now, see, I have set us up for, like, multiple. I put in slack. I'll hit you with the drum roll for the listener league. Okay. No, we're committed now. The Bijan jersey goes to. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
It's not good.
Andy Holloway
It's not good.
Jason Moore
William Villa or via however you pronounce it. And then. Hey, guys, have we.
Andy Holloway
Have we messaged the listener league spot winner? Not yet. Oh, do we?
Mike Wright
So this is.
Andy Holloway
Maybe they're just learning about it right now.
Mike Wright
You. If you haven't heard yet that you're in the league, this might be you right now.
Jason Moore
All right.
Mike Wright
If your name is. Steven,
Andy Holloway
good work, Steven.
Jason Moore
Pronounced the last name Jabot.
Mike Wright
It's Jabor. It's Jaboy, Steven, Gabao, Gibboo.
Jason Moore
I think Mike actually got it right. I think it's Jabot. Okay. I mean, that works. That's if that's your name or something close to it.
Mike Wright
We, we look out, Steven, for an
Jason Moore
email from Al Borland. We also sent some swag packs out to Cody. Sure. James F. And Bryce L. For some swag packs. Lots of giveaways this week. I had somebody email me this morning and they said I didn't have time to preorder it. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, when I had a chance, could I buy it today and still be entered? And I said, no, but, nay, but, because we had already picked the winners because we're honorable men and there's a window. Right?
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
But I said if you get it, we do more giveaways and more fun stuff over the entire summer also, then you have it. Right. That is also one of the perks is having it once you get it. Ultimate draft kit.com for that. Let's move on to the news,
Mike Wright
news and notes from around the league.
Jason Moore
So much for knowing before the draft, huh? The Steelers place the rare right of first refusal tender on Aaron Rodgers.
Andy Holloway
Never even heard of this Tender.
Jason Moore
It means that he can accept a 10% raise off of last year's salary, which would pay him about 15 million this year from another team. Right. And then they could match it.
Mike Wright
Yes. That is.
Jason Moore
What a cool thing that he has forced him to do.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Weird. Aaron Rodgers is going to be the quarterback. Aaron Rodgers is not going to get.
Andy Holloway
I don't.
Mike Wright
I'm.
Andy Holloway
Are you at.
Jason Moore
Give me your odds.
Mike Wright
Okay, my odds are 95.
Jason Moore
I'm like, I'm like 55, 45.
Mike Wright
No, I can't imagine Aaron Rodgers.
Jason Moore
Will Howard. This is Aaron Rodgers decision Howard over Allard.
Mike Wright
So in my opinion, this is just. Does Aaron Rodgers want to play football or not? And by the time football starts coming around, I think he's going to be like, yeah, I want to play football.
Jason Moore
So I talked to some of. I've got friends that are lifelong Steeler fans. They've grown up flans. They're flans like the gelatin.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, no, I got it.
Jason Moore
They grew up, you know, yellow and black. Like they want Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback. They think it is a lost season. They would like to see Will Howard or Drew, all our. Or anybody else.
Mike Wright
If I was a Steelers fan, 100%, I would not want Aaron Rodgers anywhere near the team. It's not best for your future. It will probably win the most games this season to have Aaron Rodgers there. Not best for your future.
Jason Moore
Remember when Hakeem Olajuwon was on the Toronto Raptors, Jason?
Mike Wright
Nope.
Jason Moore
You know what? Yeah, he was really. Hakeem Olajuwon played for the Raptors. This is the dream.
Andy Holloway
The Canadian dream.
Jason Moore
The Canadian dream. The Canadian dream. Shake up there in the Great White North. It's a fact. But you know what? We're not going to remember Aaron Rodgers. The Steelers.
Andy Holloway
No.
Jason Moore
The Steeler. We're going to remember the Packer and he had amazing years and we'll be a Hall of Famer. But can we, can we. He's doing. It's weird to be.
Andy Holloway
We're done with this.
Jason Moore
We've already done the Brett Favre thing.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
It's just funny, the amount.
Andy Holloway
Can't wait for Jordan. Love to do this.
Jason Moore
Oh, yeah. I guess that's inevitable. NFL Network's Ian Rappaport reporting. Rap up reporting, as I like to say that Broncos quarterback Bo Nix underwent a successful and anticipated follow up cleanup procedure on his ankle. Well, he had the injury that forced us into not getting to watch him in the title game. Right.
Andy Holloway
I'm laughing at the anticipated part there. Like it was successful. It was anticipated.
Jason Moore
Oh yeah, you got.
Andy Holloway
Knew we were going to do this.
Mike Wright
We didn't accidentally have surgery like we. We knew we were going to do it.
Andy Holloway
He didn't slip on a banana peel and fall on a gurney.
Mike Wright
Scalpel's in my ankle.
Jason Moore
Quickest surgeries in history, this one. Free agent wide receiver Juwan Jennings visited the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday. Still a free agent, Jennings has spent at least three off seasons begging to
Mike Wright
be worth more and deserving to be worth more.
Jason Moore
I think at one point, yes, but I don't feel that way. Like Jennings is a solid receiver.
Andy Holloway
Sure, I think he has a lot to offer a team, but you want him to.
Jason Moore
You want him to bring it to Minnesota.
Andy Holloway
I as the wide receiver 3. He would be very helpful.
Jason Moore
Lions exercise Jameer Gibbs, 50 or option for 2027.
Mike Wright
Shocking.
Jason Moore
That one makes sense. And also Quentin Johnston.
Andy Holloway
Man, huge.
Jason Moore
What a roller coaster that's been. Look at us.
Andy Holloway
Look at us. Whoever thought we would be here together,
Jason Moore
we are in the middle of doing our team by team, player by player stat analysis, you know, projecting every single player that goes into the udk. So we are looking closely at these teams. I saw Jason, he tweeted a disparaging remark about the Dolphins after looking at them in the udk.
Mike Wright
Well, it was because I had to, I had to stat their wide receivers, right?
Jason Moore
No, that's not a pleasant experience. But I look at the Chargers and I see this team desperately needing Quinton Johnston. It's like you look at what they have. They desperately need him. They desperately need him. So 5th year option makes sense to me. Jonathan Brooks. Yes. Jonathan Brooks said he's been fully cleared to participate in Carolina's off season program and feels close to 100%. Tore his ACL out of Texas retard in 2024. Really sad story. I mean this was the highest drafted running back of that class, right?
Andy Holloway
Yes, he was. Have you.
Mike Wright
Ahead of Trey Benson?
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I mean Andy, have you been tweaking any Carolina projections yet?
Jason Moore
Not with Jonathan Brooks. I mean I have gotten into Carolina. Yes.
Mike Wright
Okay.
Andy Holloway
I just wondered if how you were handling Chuba versus Johnny Brooks because it like I haven't got to them yet but it's like in just, you know, the vibes and thinking through the situation, Chuba feels like he will go back to what he was two years ago, which was a massive steal because I just like the making the bet. Brooks feels so difficult.
Mike Wright
It's really tough when you come back from an ACL and then have an immediate, you know, ACL rupture again. And now he's coming back. And you'd hope that this quote is like, I'm. I'm 100%. And he's still like, I'm close to 100%, which is not great. I've done the Panthers. I had chuba down for 230 carries to Brooks's 72.
Andy Holloway
Oh, okay.
Jason Moore
He had Chuba at 230. I have him at 205 right now. But I also spread the ball to A.J. dillon's on that roster now. Trevor Etn, rookie last year, had 20 opportunities. He could get more this year. And Jonathan Brooks, it's really hard to expect much from him, but it would be nice to see him on the field, I think.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I mean, this. This is one of the like. Think about this. We're doing rookie drafts all over the place right now, around the office. We're doing real rookie drafts. And you get all over the place. You get to these places over the world. In the middle of the second where it just. The floor drops out and you're just
Andy Holloway
guessing middle of second.
Mike Wright
I was being late first.
Jason Moore
Late first?
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
At about 112 where I was picking.
Mike Wright
But what pick would you say? You know what? I would rather take a shot on Jonathan Brooks if I could basically draft him here, this version trade. What pick right now in your rookie picks to go acquire Jonathan Brooks.
Jason Moore
I don't think he would go ahead of Adam Randall or Mike Washington.
Andy Holloway
He would for me.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Andy Holloway
I would. I'd be willing, like, I'll do a second rounder for Jonathan Brooks.
Jason Moore
So you would go make that trade? Just super.
Andy Holloway
It's real volatile of Ken. Jonathan Brooks ever come back?
Jason Moore
This is just because of draft capital and talent.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
And age. He's still very young. I mean, he's. I think he's younger than some of these running backs you'll be drafting as a rookie this year.
Jason Moore
And how old are his knees?
Mike Wright
72.
Jason Moore
Okay. I don't think we have any other news, so let's just jump right in. We got the entire NFC to get through today. It's time.
Mike Wright
Hey, rookie. Welcome to the NFL.
Jason Moore
Turns out the Cardinals playing the NFC, and we're starting with the NFC west, which means our 3 and 14 cardinals are the first team we'll get to talk about.
Andy Holloway
Huzzah.
Mike Wright
We shared a lot of information on our opinions of the Jeremiah Love pick on the last episode. I know it was the afc, but so many big storylines were out of the nfc and we are the Cardinals fans, so we kind of launched the show. If you want more Details. I don't think we'll rehash the contract situation and all that. Well, just suffice to say the Cardinals are so freaking stupid. And it is the.
Jason Moore
You just rehashed it.
Mike Wright
I just recapped it.
Jason Moore
Oh, much different.
Mike Wright
Just they're stupid recap is more brief than a cash. The details are on the last episode.
Andy Holloway
Cap goes on the top.
Jason Moore
The Cardinals drafted the player projected to be the number one rookie pick. And them drafting him didn't change that.
Andy Holloway
Correct.
Jason Moore
Jeremiah Love is still the number one pick. I think in the majority of. I. I would not mind if somebody wanted to take Carnell Tate.
Mike Wright
Sure.
Jason Moore
It's not happening where I'm watching drafts. But. But I love. I don't think that that is. Historically, you look back at rookie drafts and how stupid we are half the time. I don't think that that is. If you're a team that's completely flush at running back. I don't think Tate is a bad pick.
Andy Holloway
Right. And like, I don't know what. Just nasty bad karma. Tyler Algier poor.
Jason Moore
Let's. Let's say that he prayer for him
Andy Holloway
gets drafted by the Falcons. Oh, Tyler Day three pick breaks their record. Their rookie record for rushing over a thousand. And then they're like, yeah, but we got a chance to get Bijan. Oh, what is the lights doing?
Mike Wright
It's like we're in a matching vibe.
Andy Holloway
Oh, and. And you're like, oh, that sucks, man. I get it, though. It's Bijan. Don't worry. This will never happen to you.
Jason Moore
One day I'll be a real boy.
Andy Holloway
Gets paid to be a starter. Get. We get reports that Algiers like, yo, what the heck, man? I was brought here to be the starter. And then the Cardinals like, no, because we can get Jeremiah Love. So I Algiers the biggest loser. It sucks. I feel bad for that guy because I think he really deserved his chance. And for fantasy, Algier will. He'll do some of the stuff that he did to be John Steel. Touchdown.
Mike Wright
The Arizona Cardinals because he's good. The Arizona Cardinals could have had no question that whether or not they would be able to draft Jeremiah Love at 3. There's no. The jets aren't doing that with Breeze hall, who they've got on the franchise and Mendoza's one. So it's like, this is not like, oh, you couldn't see this coming before you signed Tyler Algier.
Andy Holloway
That is a very. Come on.
Mike Wright
Guys are so stupid.
Jason Moore
That's because they didn't really have this plan. Well, some of their plan Started early, trade him. They didn't get what they wanted because nobody bent because nobody else wants to draft a running back at three. All right.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
But from a fantasy perspective, Algier and Connor, both massive losers. Jeremiah Love will be the bell cow. You don't draft a running back at three and not let him do that. Algier could steal some touchdowns like you said but I think love will have 200 plus opportunities.
Andy Holloway
Agreed.
Mike Wright
I would say rookie year Jeremiah Love is going to be a disappointment. I believe fantasy wise where he's drafted he'll be a slight disappointment. It is not a bad landing spot destination going forward. They don't have as bad an offensive line as like the Raiders was going
Andy Holloway
to say last year. Are you thinking a genty level disappointment?
Mike Wright
Yeah, very similar. I mean Genti was the running back 12 last year but still was definitely a disappointment.
Andy Holloway
He was not a good pick.
Mike Wright
So I mean right now I expect Jeremiah Love to end up in my rankings at like running back 15 like a running back two.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I know we don't like the team and we don't think they'll win but the truth about Arizona is that their offense was very good. Which a couple of you Brissette like statistically you look at it, they were very good. They were. They were ninth.
Mike Wright
They were.
Andy Holloway
They were ninth in total. In totality, yes. Their actual EPA and everything like that was really really bad.
Jason Moore
Look at that offense. They have every piece you could want to dominate. Harrison and Wilson. Wilson who went crazy last year. They have the best tight end in the league in McBride. They have now a number three overall pick, the highest paid running back in the league. They have a lot of weapons on that team. It's just wild to me that it's like they just need to figure out the play, call the pass.
Mike Wright
They also did not in any way shape or form this off season address their defense at all.
Jason Moore
Which is great for fantasy.
Mike Wright
It's great for fantasy. They didn't do it in the free agent market. They really didn't even do it in the draft. I mean they went Jeremiah Love then a guard, then Carson Beck and so this is still going to be a team that is going. If you want to win a game you're going to have to. And they have 430.
Jason Moore
They have a play caller that people believe in and trust in. You saw the difference in the offensive play of Jacksonville last year. Jacksonville was the bottom dwelling team.
Mike Wright
Yeah, this isn't. I don't think this is a bad landing spot for Jeremiah Love. My issue and the reason why I say in redraft year one, it'll be disappointing. I do think that the James Conner and Tyler Algier combo will be involved. They will get goal line, they will get receptions. That'd be great for Connor. For Connor.
Andy Holloway
He should be training for the team. And Andy, just to point it out even further, 2024, the Arizona Cardinals had 42 total touchdowns last year. They only had 40. Like this was a team that was getting destroyed. So they couldn't run. So they were throwing.
Jason Moore
No, they couldn't run at all. They were four string running.
Andy Holloway
So they, I mean they were very successful in giving us fantasy points and getting yards and things like that. But isn't like a truly effective offense? I don't think they. They were.
Mike Wright
And there's a good chance at the end of the season we're going to see rookie Carson Beck, third rounder running this offense, which will not be good for fantasy.
Andy Holloway
So multiple things here. I hated that pick. Like, as someone who you're like, yeah, I've said I don't want to be a fan of the Cardinals. I'm not really just like try to pull me back in. I think this is just a, this is a waste of a pick because the highest odds are next year. You're very high up in the draft. You won't notice Carson Beck have it because when you, by the time you put him in, it will just be like towards the end of the year and you're playing against other teams where people are giving up. So I hated the pick. I also hate that you like if you're in a super flex rookie draft, you have to think about it because you're like, hey, what if, what if we're all, what if I'm wrong? What if the NFL is wrong and not taking Carson Beck higher and he's good.
Jason Moore
There's a hive of people who believe he is because the situation is he's now three or four in super flex quarterback rankings. Because you're going to have Simpson, you're going to have Mendoza.
Andy Holloway
Should he be two?
Mike Wright
I mean we'll get to the Rams, but I don't think so. I would not take.
Andy Holloway
Because Ty Simpson is an injury away or years away. I think two years at minimum. And it's like Carson Beckham should at least try to play.
Jason Moore
I don't think he's getting snaps this year unless something changed with the depth chart. I think Arizona will play Jacoby and they'll play Minshew before they play back.
Mike Wright
But, well, their draft to Sum up the entirety of their draft in their off season. The Cardinals are the highest odds for Vegas to get the number one pick next year. So they're not expected to do good things.
Jason Moore
It's amazing when like you took your shot at Miami, who by the way, they, they weren't a good team. You took your shot at them on Twitter and everybody attacks you like you think the Cardinals will be better than them. We are not appealing to. There is zero pride left on that front. I think you were just sharing your opinion, especially through the fantasy lands.
Mike Wright
Yeah, it was genuinely just for fantasy of Miami.
Jason Moore
And so look, Miami's the second highest odds for the number one pick. So there are a bunch of bad teams. We'll talk about them. San Francisco 12 and 5.
Andy Holloway
They go.
Jason Moore
Well, they didn't have a first, so they spent their second round pick on. Not Denzel Boston, who was sitting there. Right.
Mike Wright
They could have.
Jason Moore
But Dazon Stribling and they.
Mike Wright
They would have taken him with their first round pick. They said that. But they traded back into the second.
Jason Moore
We'll take him. We'll take him earlier than you could
Mike Wright
even believe, which they still did. They still took him. They traded trade for number one and then they drafted him higher than anyone would have believed. Dejan Stribling is a really fascinating guy for dynasty leagues. I'm watching him go in the third round of rookie drafts.
Andy Holloway
He went. He went. Third round of ours.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
I mean at the 302.
Mike Wright
That's in. That's unacceptable.
Andy Holloway
Second round running back.
Mike Wright
I get that. The, you know, we wide receiver. We dunked.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Yes, thank you.
Mike Wright
We dunked on the 49ers. They have a history of failing with their day two skill position picks. That's just an objective fact over the last several years. However, this is a player that they basically were ready to take in the first round. They did take him very high. Super high draft capital. An offense. That's good. And because the draft community and the big board community was not really up on Stribling like maybe we should have been because we weren't earlier, we aren't now. And that's a mistake.
Jason Moore
No, I stand by that position.
Mike Wright
You stand by that he is not good enough to be.
Jason Moore
When the 49ers have reached for players they don't work out on the field and so they reach for a player that nobody has a consensus belief in and they take him early and we're supposed to believe in them. I'm not going to go to that place. I don't see the depth chart Showing me that.
Andy Holloway
Let me tell you a story.
Jason Moore
I mean, they have Pearson, Jalen Polk. Sure.
Andy Holloway
Second round picked by the New England Patriots who lasted about five seconds.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I just don't believe this is a team that wants to win a Super Bowl. I don't see this rookie in the second round that should have gone in the fourth round contributing more than a handful of catches on the year they have Pearsall, Evans, Kirk. I have a different opinion than you on that one.
Mike Wright
It's just simply the. The one of the greatest signals for success. As much as we're other teams.
Andy Holloway
Sure.
Mike Wright
From only other teams.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Mike Wright
Is draft capital. I mean, that is pretty much. If you were to. If you were to do all your rookie drafts with nothing but draft capital. You just take whoever was taken highest and you're going to do all right. It's kind of like auto drafting in a. With your ADP in your fantasy football league. That sucks.
Jason Moore
You believed in golden all last year.
Mike Wright
It's why I took him. And that's not going to work sometimes, but a lot of things don't work. I mean, you're just trying to make the bets that are 60% odds and usually higher draft picks perform.
Jason Moore
All right, now do Caleb Black.
Andy Holloway
I say I'm with you, Jason. If I'm in the third round of my rookie draft, I'll take Stribling there. But I'm more on Andy side of like there's guys drafted after him that I prefer to take the shot on. And Kalen Black, third round running back from the San Francisco 49ers, were here yet again for I don't know how many years in a row and prepared to be fooled by it. I had the 212. I have Christian McCaffrey in our dynasty league. I took Caitlin Black. I took him over Stribling because like I'm going to take a chance that I have the 49ers insurance running back. I know that will not be correct.
Jason Moore
No Jordan James this year, most likely.
Andy Holloway
Or maybe it's Garendo again.
Jason Moore
I mean they go through four a year.
Andy Holloway
So yeah, I picked him up.
Jason Moore
He's 24 and a half years old.
Andy Holloway
Prepared for it to be wrong. Caleb Black is so bizarre.
Mike Wright
He was not invited to the combine.
Andy Holloway
Not invited to the combine. And yet what do we got? 10.
Mike Wright
Oh, 10, 10 teams.
Andy Holloway
He did a top 30 visit for.
Jason Moore
I want that agent.
Mike Wright
Yeah. I mean, doing good work.
Andy Holloway
So I.
Jason Moore
The San Francisco 49ers have drafted over the last five years. Trey Sermon in the third round. Elijah Mitchell in the sixth, Tyrion Davis Price in the third. Isaac Garindo was four in the fourth. And now Jordan James was the fifth round pick last year. Now Kaylan Black in the third.
Andy Holloway
Who was the.
Jason Moore
Elijah Mitchell worked but he wasn't above ADP like expectation at all. He was a six round steel.
Mike Wright
No, I mean when you look at reaches, both of these offensive players this year were massive reaches over where they were expected to go in the draft. They, they could have gone probably rounds later.
Andy Holloway
Kyle, who was the, who was the. One of the OGs. It was the. Where we got all the reports. Kyle Shanahan is, is pounding the table
Jason Moore
for somebody that they has to draft
Andy Holloway
this running back and then they got drafted and we never heard from him again.
Jason Moore
I mean Tyrion Davis Price was one of them for sure.
Mike Wright
Yeah, there was been a lot.
Jason Moore
I don't believe anything. They'll be a good team, but they're. The one thing about San Francisco is that they. While they draft players in the wrong spots and miss on them, they also have no. It's ironic because you're saying, look, the statistics say your draft capital associates with success, which it does broadly. Not nuanced necessarily, but broadly. It's 100% fact.
Andy Holloway
Joe Williams.
Jason Moore
But they don't give a crap about where the players been drafted. They can draft Trey Sermon and in the third. And if Elijah Mitchell has two better practices, that's their loyalty all of a sudden.
Mike Wright
That is legitimately true with the San Francisco 49ers. That is a point that can't be argued against. I mean look at, look at Brock purdy. He was Mr. Irrelevant the last pick in the draft. They're like, you're the better player. You're. You're up.
Jason Moore
And so if these guys are better, they'll play that.
Mike Wright
That's where it's ironic because I, I have that same opinion, but more on the Caleb Black side because I don't, I just don't think Caleb Black's a good running back at all.
Andy Holloway
He was productive.
Mike Wright
I don't. Was he the best running back on his team?
Andy Holloway
No, he wasn't the more productive of the two, but he was and he's athletic.
Jason Moore
Joe Williams, man, I remember Joe Williams. Yeah. Fourth round of Shannon's first draft. All right, we're taking a break. We're talking Rams.

Jason Moore
this is this is the division of confusion in the dress. So like I said, the Cardinals were done a favor by San Francisco in my opinion, spending picks that it was. If you like these guys, just take them Later.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I agree.
Jason Moore
And then the Rams blew everybody's mind, including, I think, their head coach, who, you know, you can read it however you want. I watched press conferences from previous years. I watched this one. Either he was constipated or he didn't like the pick. Ty Simpson goes 13 overall to a team that was a eyelash from the Super Bowl. Shocking to me when, like, Makai Lemon's there to be taken. When you talk about they might trade or get rid of devonte Adams this off season, I couldn't believe, like, we all. We all picked Makai Lemon to the Rams. None of us picked ty Simpson at 13 to the Rams. He hadn't even spoken to Sean McVeigh before.
Mike Wright
So that is actually not true.
Andy Holloway
There was a report of a secret meeting.
Mike Wright
So here's what top the way. Yeah. The way that this has gone down has been a roller coaster. What happened was the first press conference you had Sean McVay just looking like his dog died. Very unhappy. Short answered, not like you've ever seen him before. The next day, he comes out to the press conference, jokes around, brings it up right off the bat about why he was upset, what was happening. And he basically said, the truth is that was out of respect for Matthew Stafford. He did not want to go out there and sit down and look overjoyed about the future. This is Stafford's team. He wants to project it that way. And then it came out. You know, they were talking about, oh, they had never even met Sean McVay. Just really. They don't ever meet with who they draft pick. Then Ty Simpson had an interview where he's talking about. He was told from the Rams a lot about this. He was given a script of what, like how to behave and what to say and what to not say.
Andy Holloway
Oh, I didn't read that.
Mike Wright
And then, like, he had to keep everything under wraps about any of their meetings. They had the secret meetings with McVeigh. So this was.
Andy Holloway
This was.
Mike Wright
This was. At first I thought this was a very GM over head coach situation. I don't believe that to be the case anymore. I think they were in sync and they're looking at the future of this franchise. They don't usually have a pick. I mean, they don't usually have a pick in the first round anyways. But let alone at the 13 spot, they're usually and project to have a very low. So if you have any chance to help your franchise in the future, that is. I mean, you're on the edge. I can understand the argument of Taking that and then you go, well, what about the prospect? Is Ty Simpson good? Well, let me tell you, this is a fact. If Ty Simpson went to the Arizona Cardinals, he would not develop.
Andy Holloway
Correct.
Mike Wright
He would not become a good NFL quarterback. If Ty Simpson gets to sit for two years behind Matthew Stafford and get trained by Sean McVeigh, I'll bet, I'll bet he ends up being a pretty good quarterback. That's my opinion.
Jason Moore
I don't think there's anything wrong with any of that. I think that's all true. I think it's a shocking pick when your team is on the. On the edge of success. I also think it's a little bit funny when it's like, oh, you never get a pick at 13. So now that we're at 13, we're going to take a guy that wouldn't have gone until the end of the round. We're going to take him at 13 because we have that pick. That part shocked me too. I don't think, you know, maybe Arizona was very vocal about trading up to 25 and you had to do it. Yeah, but there's every chance for him to succeed. We don't know when that will be. It might be a couple years away. It doesn't do any good to debate how, you know, predicated it is. He's a Ram. That's what he is Now. I took him in the second round of our dynasty draft because I am building for 20, 28 and I'm like, I'm going to take a shot at a quarterback that could be the starter on the Rams with McVeigh in two years.
Andy Holloway
I don't blame especially the build of your team going with him, you know, a little bit earlier than I think he'll go in most single quarterback drafts. I really like the pick and is the Aaron Rodgers stuff we just read at the top of this show where the team is being held ransom by an old busted quarterback is they know the time of Stafford is coming to an end sooner than later. Be prepared for it. This is to me it's like this is nothing like Kirk Cousins getting the bag of money and then them drafting Michael Penix. This is a.
Mike Wright
It's nothing.
Andy Holloway
This is more like the Jordan Love move. This is where, yeah, that, that did piss off Aaron Rodgers, but look where the Green Bay packers are now because of that.
Mike Wright
Okay, but here's the counter argument to that and I think where Andy's saying this is a bad draft. This is a very similar situation to what happened with Jordan Love, Aaron Rodgers, you Had you literally have the MVP this year in Matthew Stafford. You're close to a championship, right?
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
If you rewind the tape to 2020, we can say, well, Jordan Love was a good pick. That would help their franchise. They're good. But maybe they win this in 2020. They were in the championship game and they were a hair away from winning that. And they. They passed on T. Higgins in that draft to get Jordan Love. You telling me that maybe you don't win that if you ended up with T. Higgins like Makai Lemon and you
Jason Moore
do, you still have to. Like I know McVeigh, he's not going to be a. He's not necessarily going to be a miracle worker for everybody at quarterback. Like, what's the ceiling for Ty Simpson in reality? Is this pick going to look more like the Michael Pinnock's pick or is it going to look. Or Kenny Pickett or somebody in the first round that just didn't develop, or is it going to be the future of your franchise? That's where I think people debated whether Simpson was worth. If everybody believed in Simpson, he would have gone in the top five.
Andy Holloway
Right.
Jason Moore
So that. That's where it's going to be interesting from a fantasy perspective.
Andy Holloway
I bet they all believe in Ty Simpson now. All those teams that like the Cardinals like. Wait, McVeigh, you like him that much? Oh, crap.
Jason Moore
Fantasy losers of this draft is the. Is the insanely deep and now probably useless tight end room that has Colby Parkinson who scored five times last year. Tyler Higby who came back from injury. Terrence Ferguson who they drafted and you know, believe in Davis Allen has flashed. Now they draft, draft Max Claire in the second round. They live for tight ends.
Mike Wright
And he's a good tight end. Max Claire is like a good tight end. Bets is very excited for or was at least very excited for him. What a terrible landing spot. Good for the Rams. A good pick, a good player. But I don't know how they're going to use all five of these tight ends.
Andy Holloway
Well, like there are. There's Tyler, there's Tyler Higby, retirement rumors floating around. So I mean, like maybe not this year. And then is. What's the contract situation for like Kobe Parkinson?
Mike Wright
Parkinson just got a big contract. I mean, I guess it was.
Andy Holloway
I felt like he was on the. Kyle, is he on the last year? Like the. I think. I think maybe they're the. Yeah. So Colby and Allen are free agents in 2027.
Mike Wright
They're for this year.
Andy Holloway
This is their. Because this is their new way of doing the offense. So they want to make sure that they're stocked for this year.
Mike Wright
I think that you just have to avoid all tight ends there.
Andy Holloway
Yes. I think that's.
Jason Moore
They didn't do anything. Wide receiver. So if you want to talk about fantasy winners. There you go. Devonte Adams is still on this roster
Andy Holloway
and he'll catch a bunch of touchdowns.
Jason Moore
Seattle, they did it. They spent the first round pick on Jadarian Price. Wild, as expected.
Mike Wright
Guardians in the first day.
Andy Holloway
Yes. He was a very popular pick to their. Andy, you. You believe that they would do it. I say wild of a first round pick on a running back with that level of production is that.
Jason Moore
That level of production has not. I mean, that's.
Andy Holloway
That's crazy.
Jason Moore
The one thing I'll say is that unanimously, from pretty much the jump until the day of the draft, it was pretty unanimous that Price was the number two prospect in this entire draft.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. In the mock draft world. Yes.
Jason Moore
Well, not just in our world, but in the NFL world, like, there wasn't a move for Emmett Johnson or Jonah Coleman to pass him. It was pretty unanimous from people's perspectives that Price was the second best talent.
Mike Wright
I think that's what pushed him. Not, not that he was the second best, but the gap between him and everyone else is what pushed him up into the first. Whereas, like, if we don't get him, we don't see a player that can come in and be in a really important role for our team. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Drafted Jonah Coleman.
Mike Wright
Yeah. You and me. You and me agree. However, for fantasy purposes, this is an incredibly important pick. This, the Seahawks. Charbonnet is not going to be ready week one. Charbonnet will most likely be starting on the pup. It might be the end of the year before he's.
Jason Moore
I projected him for eight games played.
Mike Wright
Yeah. So you're talking about a team that wants to run the ball, that's successful, literally super bowl champions coming in. And so that's what you got to do. It's a great pick. He is going to get the rock a lot. And he doesn't even have to succeed in order to get the Rock more and more and more. We saw that with Charbonnet. They just. They will do. They'll say, we are committed to handing this ball off.
Jason Moore
Yeah. I mean, Charbonnet is a fantasy loser from the draft with Price being drafted there. Emmanuel Wilson, the free agent acquisition, a loser in the draft. You know, Jadarian Price is a winner. You know, the fantasy community that needs a relevant rookie to step up to the plate. If you Draft him, you're going to get snaps. And that's pretty much what you can say about that.
Mike Wright
Big winner here, Eli Lilly Jardians in the first.
Jason Moore
I think the comp to Josh Jacobs is perfect for what we saw. Limited Josh Jacobs. I mean, he was the last one that has had under 700 receiving or rushing yards in a final season and then get drafted that high. I think that comps perfect. I think Price is a great running back. I think he'll succeed there, especially because of how, you know, he's going into such a perfect situation. It's kind of the opposite of what Jeremiah Love has to do. Where I feel like Love has. He has to carry a lot of the responsibility for that offense now in Arizona. And I think Price just gets to go do his thing. He's got other players that can come in. They won't have Charbonnet right away, but George Holani will be getting snaps.
Mike Wright
At least Jacobs had a receiving profile, though.
Jason Moore
Oh, I know. There's no, there's no receiving profile here at all. I think, what, five catches or something.
Andy Holloway
But Price, I mean, jumped and I think he's pretty locked in at the 105 in your rookie drafts.
Mike Wright
Yeah, for sure.
Andy Holloway
Like, because Concepcion went to the Browns, you're like. And it's going to, you would have to project. It's going to take a little bit of time. Even if KC does pan out to be a good player, I would, I'd take him 105.
Jason Moore
The New York Giants did not end up spending the early picks that I had thought they would spend on offense with a Jordan Tyson or a Jeremiah Love who never fell to them. Instead, they went defense and offensive tackle, cornerback in the second. And their one offensive splash was Malachi Fields in the third round, who is a monster of a man.
Andy Holloway
I hate this.
Jason Moore
You hate the pick?
Andy Holloway
I hate, I hate it because this was the spot that I was. That I was using all of my willpower to get one of the bigger wide receivers, as in like the higher end guys. And it's like Malachi Fields is. He's big physically. I mean, you know, it's. It's not that he's a bad player. It's just things didn't go nearly as well as he had hoped this year. He had kind of, you know, his draft stock fell and. But I will be interested in a Giants wide receiver.
Mike Wright
Malachi Fields finds a great landing spot here being with Jackson Dart and really it's Malik, Neighbors and a bunch of Jags. I mean, they, they don't like Darius Slayton at all there as a passion.
Jason Moore
They did add Darnell Mooney in the off season. Don't forget that as well.
Mike Wright
Yeah, Fields is a prospect that I was ready to be out on.
Andy Holloway
That's. See, that's what I mean.
Mike Wright
Before the draft, I was ready to be out on him. I am fine taking a shot now with this landing spot.
Jason Moore
Cam Scatterboo, big winner of the draft.
Andy Holloway
Oh, yes, yes, yes.
Mike Wright
Oh, the people, the people, the people are thrilled.
Andy Holloway
The people love it.
Jason Moore
It's a big deal. And I'm going to go out and just say Malik Neighbors is a winner of the draft because what I didn't. My biggest fear this off season with Neighbors was the combination of a high profile, exciting wide receiver landing and him missing a few games. And again, his time with Jackson Dart is nonexistent. Which means that if he misses a few games and Jordan Tyson becomes the dude for Jackson Dart, it's great for Dart. It's not great for Neighbors managers. And that would have worried me a little bit. Neighbors, if anything, you look at the off season and you say, well, you subtract Wanda Robinson's billion targets and you replace it with Mooney and Malachi Fields. It seems like the targets will be just fine for Malik Neighbors, but man,
Andy Holloway
just imagine, we almost had the world guys, the Giants, Malik Neighbors and Jordan Tyson.
Mike Wright
I think you're saying this from the perspective of Jackson Dart, but I actually
Andy Holloway
think that, oh, it would have been nasty.
Mike Wright
I think that the offensive tackle is as big a help for.
Andy Holloway
You're not going to take up wide receivers.
Mike Wright
Dart is a winner here because they did add a wide receiver on day two and got an offensive tackle. I like what they did.
Andy Holloway
The commanders, Maui Noah.
Jason Moore
You're talking about the tackle.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, yeah.
Jason Moore
No, I like. For what it's worth, broadly, I like what the Giants did in the draft. I think it was a good draft. Washington, they spent a third round pick on Antonio Williams. Again, Washington was rumored to be in the running back game and to be which they did, they got probably a steal on Katrin Allen in the sixth round.
Andy Holloway
You mean like Caitron Allen is going to steal their money?
Jason Moore
How do you. How do you mean?
Andy Holloway
Because he's not that good.
Jason Moore
Oh, you don't like him?
Andy Holloway
No.
Jason Moore
Oh, I got you. Yeah. That was a shot at him.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
That was an insult.
Jason Moore
Right.
Andy Holloway
Where did Nick two freshly paid, drafted running.
Jason Moore
Where did Singleton go?
Andy Holloway
Fifth round.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he went ahead of Ktron Allen, Antonio Williams, wide receiver in the third round. Again, Washington was one of Those teams, we thought maybe we'd use number seven overall to go after. They could have taken Jordan Tyson. Right. It tells me a little bit about their plans maybe with Brandon Iuk that they did not prioritize another big name. Because if you put. Sure, if you put Brandon Iuk with Terry McLaurin, with Chiga Conquo with Antonio
Andy Holloway
Williams, with Ben Senate. I hear you loud and clear, brother.
Jason Moore
Yeah, yeah, you got it. So Antonio Williams, I mean, did you. He worked Ben Senate into that. He did this draft.
Mike Wright
I mean, we are talking about the
Andy Holloway
Commanders third year breakout.
Jason Moore
Traylon Burks too, man. Your guy, Jay.
Mike Wright
Oh, yeah, dude. I mean, A.J. brown, who. I think this is a great landing spot for Antonio Williams. He's. He's shot up my dynasty rankings. The GM has come out and talked so much about why they like Antonio Williams. Targeting Antonio Williams, the opportunity that he finds himself in is great. I mean, if Brandon Ayuk shows up, that will nerf it a little bit. But as of now, he has a real opportunity to be the wide receiver to. For a good offense. That's hard to find yourself in that situation. You expect Jayden Daniels to be good. Terry McLaurin's the one and they really need someone else to step up. So Antonio Williams right now, I mean, he. He is my number 12 ranked rookie. So he's a. He is the back of the first round for me.
Jason Moore
Catron Allen will have an opportunity whether you like him or not. This backfield did not add other pieces.
Andy Holloway
Please refer to Caitron by his chosen name, Fat Man.
Mike Wright
Well, that's right. That's right.
Andy Holloway
You don't know about this one, Andy.
Mike Wright
This one's real.
Andy Holloway
That's not a joke. That was. No, no, no, no.
Mike Wright
It's not a joke, Fat Man. It's not our nickname.
Jason Moore
Oh, I will call him that.
Andy Holloway
Yeah,
Jason Moore
Fat Man.
Mike Wright
We honor and we honor and respect these players.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Travis H.N. jr. Rumble, rumble, fat Man. And Fat Man. Oh, this I like him more.
Andy Holloway
What a gift, Catron.
Jason Moore
His mama calls him Fat Man.
Mike Wright
It does make me like him more.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Fat Man Allen.
Andy Holloway
Mama calls him Fat Man. Yeah.
Mike Wright
That's where the.
Jason Moore
So we have Bill Crosky and Fat man in that backfield.
Mike Wright
And Crawdad.
Andy Holloway
No.
Jason Moore
Welcome to 2026.
Mike Wright
I forgot. I just was excited on the name.
Jason Moore
I know, I know. You just got to be faithful. There you go. Jacori Kraski. Merit is a winner, by the way.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Jason Moore
Because you did not. You did not end up with the Jeremiah Love situation. I thought maybe JCM's window was completely shut. It was possible and it seems like they're willing to have him in a committee with Rashad White.
Mike Wright
I can't wait for Rashad White to be the clear leading back again and be good for fantasy.
Jason Moore
While everyone hates there's major problem there.
Mike Wright
He's busy for shot by.
Jason Moore
Yeah, he's not good at running.
Andy Holloway
It might it just so people are aware, Antonio Williams did run 93% of his routes from the slot last year. So they, you know, you might have a Jaden Reed problem with his traylon burks.
Jason Moore
I think they gave him money. Right. And he's going to come back. Jalen Lane still on the roster. Van Jefferson, I think is still on the roster.
Mike Wright
Can't cut that guy.
Jason Moore
They did say goodbye to Debo, though, right? So Debo's gone. Debo and nobody even knows if he's anywhere.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I haven't heard a peepee as technically a free agent. I heard it too. What sounded like I haven't heard of peepee.
Andy Holloway
What are you, the Roadrunner?
Jason Moore
Yeah, that's it. Dallas.
Andy Holloway
Where did you hear pee pee Peepee. They heard Mike. Oh, you had a bunch of children
Mike Wright
can't find Deebo's pee pee anywhere.
Andy Holloway
No, that's not what anyone said.
Mike Wright
Jason, thank you.
Andy Holloway
Oh, thank you.
Mike Wright
Look at that wall. Look at that Magic Mike wall.
Jason Moore
Nobody came close to saying that.
Mike Wright
Oh, one of us did. One of us said it.
Andy Holloway
You did.
Mike Wright
So there you go.
Jason Moore
Take a lap. Take a lap. Jason.
Mike Wright
The Dallas Cowboys.
Jason Moore
Dallas Cowboys.
Andy Holloway
They did put them on the wall. And we're done.
Mike Wright
Yeah. I mean, they went defense in this draft. The news.
Jason Moore
Which is bad news for fantasy. You want to say who's a fantasy loser? We are.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Because Caleb Downs is awesome.
Jason Moore
Oh, I love him.
Mike Wright
And he's going to make Malachi Lawrence a big difference on this defense. The. The only offensive stuff in this draft was really the news as to whether or not CD Lamb or I'm sorry, George Pickens was going to sign his franchise. He did sign. He didn't. We talked about it last episode. He could end up holding out into the season.
Jason Moore
More optimism when you didn't like Makai Lemon went in the first round to Philadelphia. That made you say, well, there's a plan there. There wasn't a plan in these draft picks to replace George Pickens. I'll tell you that.
Mike Wright
That is absolutely true. And Makai Lemon could never have gone there to the Eagles, their division mate, if the Cowboys had not moved down, given them that pick.
Jason Moore
Speaking of the Eagles you know, multiple
Andy Holloway
years ago you had.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Devonte Adams.
Andy Holloway
No. CD Lamb. They drafted CD Lamb. When they didn't like when they were on the clock. We weren't. This was still. Cooper was still like the good version of Dallas. Amari Cooper. Yeah, we didn't think they would take City Layman. They just, they said this is the best guy on our board. So I, I would believe that if they thought that highly of Makai Lemon, they would have just taken him.
Jason Moore
Yeah, they could have. They could have made the statement to George right there and they didn't. Philadelphia did take Makai Lemon with the 20th overall pick, stealing him from the clutches of the Pittsburgh Steelers. And good for you, Makai. You don't have to go. Will Howard Drew all or Aaron Rodgers this thing. The first two picks, offensive weapons, Makai Lemon and Eli Stowers, both values. Both could make instant impacts. Although I would imagine those of you drafting Stowers in dynasty leagues will have to wait a year to get major production. Dallas Goddard was brought back and was very productive in this offense. I'd be shocked if they would just hand the reins to Stowers, but here we go. We got, we got some actual weapons for a team that may lose A.J. brown soon.
Mike Wright
I mean, that's what the signal here was. They are losing A.J. brown. Like that's what it's. They trade up to get a wide receiver in the first round after all of the. I don't even know if it's rumor, so it's just reported that on June 1st there's a trade that's going to happen with the, with the Patriots tbd. But when you then go and grab Makai Lemon and Eli Stowers, it's like, oh yeah, yeah, we see you are working on your offense post AJ Brown.
Jason Moore
It's strange because, I mean, maybe this will be a minority opinion. I don't think you're a better offense with Makai Lemon and Eli Stowers than you are with A.J. brown this year. So I think that that'll be an interesting way when we're projecting Philadelphia for the fantasy output of Jalen Hurts in this offense which struggled tremendously last year was not a high pass volume offense. I think there will be a little bit of a transition period. Kai Lemon is certainly not built the same way that A.J. brown is or to serve the same role. Stowers is a monster. We all love him. Don Tavian Wicks had a two week window of being kind of maybe important. That is gone in Philadelphia. And Jalen Hurts benefits from at least adding more weapons because if you just took A.J. brown away we'd be very scared about this.
Mike Wright
Yeah, this is very good for Jalen Hurts and for Dynasty version of Jalen Hurts as well because Mikhail him and Eli Stowers rookies, they will get better and I think that those two are great players. So smart franchises draft great players.
Jason Moore
All right, we're going to take another break and jump into the NFC North.
Andy Holloway

This one, we got two more whole divisions, guys. Did you know that?
Andy Holloway
Well, we'll be able to go pretty quick on some of these.
Jason Moore
Well, how about the Lions?
Mike Wright
That's one of them.
Jason Moore
Start there. They didn't really do anything impactful. You could say Isaiah Pacheco was a fantasy winner. They didn't. You know, Mike had picked Jadarian Price to Detroit as a surprise. They spent a fifth round pick on a wide receiver. I think that means they feel really comfortable with Amon Radio, Jameson Williams and Isaac Tislaw and agreed and we're moving on.
Mike Wright
Yeah, they did get a tackle with their first pick, which is.
Andy Holloway
Whoa, that one scared me.
Mike Wright
Yeah, because you're not the one pushing the button for once.
Jason Moore
It was also like, yeah, it's terrible. Seconds after I said to Sloth I
Mike Wright
was giving you time to do the
Andy Holloway
right thing and oh, that was.
Mike Wright
Oh, but yeah, they have.
Jason Moore
I got scared too, Mike.
Andy Holloway
I got places on me that are tight that shouldn't be tight.
Jason Moore
Speaking of Debo.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Anyways, their offensive line has gotten worse from the incredible offensive line of the last, you know, of couple years ago. But first round pick on a tackle is good.
Jason Moore
Minnesota. Minnesota did not end up drafting a running back where we thought they might. In fact, they had back to back picks where we were almost certain that Jonah Coleman would be a Minnesota Viking.
Mike Wright
They brought out five top 30 visits for running backs and usually.
Jason Moore
Nope, nope, nope, nope. More Nope.
Andy Holloway
No. What?
Jason Moore
Oh, no, I sing. Nope. To each one.
Mike Wright
I thought I was saying something.
Jason Moore
Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. Yeah, I got it right.
Mike Wright
Yeah, there you go. But usually that's like an 80% clip to take a running back. Well before they did they wait until the sixth round and they got.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Clayborne there. So yeah. Aaron Jones, Jordan Mason. Fantasy winners. Moving on. Green Bay. Moving on. Now Green Bay. I mean it was cornerback, defensive tackle, defensive end, center cornerback. You know, again, pretty good endorsement of Matthew golden and Christian Watson on this offense. You didn't spend anything on any more wide receivers yet. You lost Wicks and Dobbs.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I mean, it's great news for the existing wide receiver core and an opportunity for Matthew golden to prove that he is. They wanted him to be and for
Jason Moore
Christian Watson to finally like be a one in this offense and for, you know, Marshawn Lloyd to step up and be A like relevant committee back. No more Emmanuel Wilson and they didn't draft the running back. So Green Bay, Josh Jacobs and who you have on the roster, you were the winners there. The Chicago Bears, dot, dot, dot.
Andy Holloway
Yep. Not a ton.
Jason Moore
I mean there, there were, you know, Deandre Swift and Manangai are the guys at running back. We did not get a running back drafted.
Mike Wright
That was the story. I mean this wasn't a deep running back draft class anyway, so you kind of felt like they were safer. But early in the off season it felt like Swift was going to get cut and wasn't even going to be a part of this team. And now I'm like Swift is going to be exactly what he has always been, a solid RB2 for fantasy for sure.
Jason Moore
Well, we can talk about this one. The New Orleans Saints 6 and 11 last year with the 8th overall pick. Jason called this one on his predictions. Jordan Tyson of the Arizona State Sun Devils heads to New Orleans to join Chris Olave to join Tyler Schuck. What do we think about. I mean Tyson was my number one wide receiver in this draft class.
Andy Holloway
He remains my number one.
Mike Wright
Yep. Same.
Jason Moore
What's funny is I don't know if he remains my number one.
Andy Holloway
You like Tate more?
Jason Moore
I like Tate more. At this point my rookie rankings have Tate higher, but Tyson is a great landing spot. Great upside provided for Tyler Schuck, but you know, Crystal Lave is still the dude there. My rankings clearly are going to show that.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I mean this is wonderful. They desperately needed another pass catching option. Their second best catcher of the ball is probably Juwan Johnson before this draft and that can't be good for your franchise. So good for Tyler Schuck. I think Tyler Schuck also in the third round. Oscar Delp is La Jolla. Oscar Delp. La Jolla. Thank you. Yes, yes. We both heard that during the draft when they drafted the third pick, Oscar Delp and both Mike and I not even in the same building.
Jason Moore
We both are the dumbest.
Andy Holloway
Yes, we are.
Jason Moore
Oscar Dill, La Jolla, he is not a. Yeah. He's not a player that he's going to threaten in the pass catching game.
Mike Wright
Right. Right now. But I'm just saying for Tyler Schuck for this offense and they added obviously a Chan junior to this team. I'm excited, excited for the Kellen Moore. Tyler Schuck led Saints off super for fantasy.
Andy Holloway
I'm super, super excited. Olave and Jordan Tyson is. It's not Malik Neighbors Jordan Tyson, but it's still pretty nasty and that'll be real fun. And then Bryce Lance, AKA Trey Lance's brother, who plays wide receiver. And it's a wide receiver who has all of the athletic ability that Trey Lance had. Except we don't have to worry about him being a bad quarterback.
Jason Moore
He doesn't have to throw it.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, he doesn't have to throw it. He has to catch it. So I mean him in the fourth to bring an extra boost.
Jason Moore
You know, it's a pretty high pick
Andy Holloway
and field stretching ability. I'm real, real excited for the Saints.
Jason Moore
All right, let's move on to Atlanta. Their one big offensive pick was a third round selection of Zachariah Branch. Dude's very fast. They do have a very weak depth chart. So when you look at opportunities to break into the rotation, you don't have to go very far. You know, John Dotson and Zacchaeus Zakias is kind of pigeonholed into a specific role.
Andy Holloway
So Branch could be as well. We'll see how they use him. You know, around three pick. That's just fine for draft capital at Georgia last year, 51% of his routes were screenshots, which so he's catching the ball at the line of scrimmage half of the time. Which for fantasy football purposes that is generally a big red flag. As in this person will never turn into a mega producer. Not that he can't help the team or maybe he evolves into a wide receiver too at some point. But he's going to be a high risk pick despite being a third round.
Mike Wright
He's going to be a high risk but he is also a high reward. We talked about this on the Dynasty show this week. His ability, like I think he is not going to work out these screen warriors in college don't translate to the NFL. I am guessing he will not be a good fantasy player but if he hits what his skill is, is, is, you know, it's, it is the Tyree kill ish kind of stop start that no one else can do and so should he hit it is it's a scratcher ticket. You know, it's like you're probably going to lose, but if you win, you could win big.
Jason Moore
That's what a scratcher ticket's about.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Which to be fair, this year's draft, you can't win if you don't play this year's draft. And where he's going in the late second, third round of rookie drafts, yeah, sure, it's all, it's all crap. Go for upside.
Jason Moore
Well, that's where I let in quarterback Situations determine my differentiator in a lot of rookie drafts where, yeah, Atlanta has two of them. You just talked about Antonio Williams while you got Jaden. Right, like, at least there's that. And here I get like the double whammy of you got to hit and then you got to hit with crap at quarterback. Maybe, maybe, but probably, yes, you have crap. Tampa Bay. Eight and nine fantasy winners for Tampa Bay. We didn't find another running back in this draft that is a benefit for Bucky Irving. We didn't really have a whole lot else going on other than the third round selection of Ted Hurst. This is one of the deepest. Even with the departure of Mike Evans, it's still one of the deepest wide receiver rooms in the league with a Buca and Godwin and McMillan and Tez Johnson, Kate Otten soaking up targets. I know you guys like Ted Hurst. I don't know.
Mike Wright
I like Ted Hurst.
Jason Moore
If you need an injury to have
Andy Holloway
a rookie season, it's bad news for. Oh, no, no. I can't think of it. Tez Johnson. Yeah, I think Tez is. Will be the odd man out.
Mike Wright
I agree. He would be the odd man out.
Jason Moore
I thought Tess played great last year.
Mike Wright
He was. He was very good. This is like you said, this is a very deep wide receiver core, but it is not full of firmly established. Like, you've got Godwin and you've got a Buca. Those two guys aren't going anywhere based on draft capital and contract. And then they've got a lot of other talent. But it's not anyone that is so established that someone can't come in over
Jason Moore
the top and be the three.
Mike Wright
Ted Hurst, well, it'd be the three this year, but Godwin, you know, at this age, with the departure of Mike Evans, Ted Hurst is, I mean, he's obviously not a Mike Evans, but he's a taller field stretching guy that can do six, four something, some of the same stylistic, you know, routes and you know, losing Mike Evans matters for this team. And they went out and they said, hey, day two, we're going to. We're going to target Ted Hurst.
Jason Moore
They were Hursty that.
Mike Wright
Oh, I like it. I'm gonna take a drink on that one. I'm hersty.
Andy Holloway
Oh, man.
Mike Wright
Refreshing.
Jason Moore
Sometimes you, sometimes you say it and then the reaction, you're like, man, I really wish I wouldn't have. There you go.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I like Ted Hurston. I like the landing spot.
Jason Moore
You've painted the picture pretty well on an opportunity to break through. It's not like, you know, Tess had 22 catches. Jaylen McMillan was hurt and came back and caught 12 passes. So it's not like those two guys were dominators. I think they're both good. But there is room for the size of a player like Ted Hurst to establish some dominance. Carolina offensive tackle, defensive tackle. Third round pick of Chris Brazell. The second.
Andy Holloway
Brazil.
Jason Moore
Brazil. Brazil dazzle.
Mike Wright
Brazil dazzle. That's from Chicago. These all my music, my musical theater feels special.
Andy Holloway
Jeremy, you got me.
Jason Moore
Right? You're right. He's like, you got it, nerds. Chris Brazil, the second, third round pick. I didn't think Carolina would go after.
Mike Wright
No, that's all it is. I like his film, I like his production, I like his measurables. And then I. He's from Tennessee. I'm out.
Jason Moore
What was that? That was the Adnai. Mitchell and Xavier Worthy.
Mike Wright
Jalen.
Andy Holloway
No, they were Texas.
Jason Moore
Oh, they're both Texas.
Andy Holloway
No, no, you're thinking of Jalen Hyatt.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
What's wrong with that guy?
Andy Holloway
For some reason, Tennessee from last year, they just.
Mike Wright
Tennessee is able to produce a lot of statistics that somehow are manufactured well in college and doesn't translate. Brazil is a good player. He is. And he's the. He's the son of a. Of a former NFL player, which, you know, so you know, he's grown up knowing ball. Day two draft capital goes to the Carolina Panthers, who really need another weapon outside of Tetaroa.
Jason Moore
Yeah. They have Jalen Coker, who will be healthy this year and has been productive. They have Xavier Lee, got your favorite player in football. He's still there, but there's an opportunity there for sure. Chuba Hubbard. Like. Like we said, they didn't go after a running back. It's good for Jonathan Brooks and chuba hubbard. Trevor etn's still there. A.J. dillon's still there. So that's going to be your backfield. Any other thoughts on Carolina?
Andy Holloway
I think that about does it.
Jason Moore
Okay. We got through it.
Andy Holloway
We did it.
Jason Moore
NFC winners and losers in the books. What do we have coming up next week? Don't we have some overreaction episodes coming up?
Mike Wright
We've got some things.
Jason Moore
Players to forgive. That's what I was going to say. You got some producers to forgive. Why do you think Papa Josh isn't here today? We're not ready.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I have not.
Jason Moore
We're not ready to forgive him. He's certainly not on vacation with his family. Something he did. We went golfing today.
Mike Wright
We did.
Jason Moore
You got back on the course people. I don't know. I didn't open with that. You found the other half of your putter on hole nine.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
Like, you pulled. He pulled it out of his bag.
Mike Wright
I was trying to put a club in my bag, and I was like, what is blocking this? And then I reached in and the other half of my putter was in there.
Jason Moore
The long half, as we call it.
Mike Wright
The shaft.
Jason Moore
The shaft of the putter. And then you left it, like, on the ground by some bird feather, so it looked like you had killed him. When we rolled up, we left it for you guys.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, we rolled up and we were like, someone murdered a bird.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Mike Wright
That's what. That's.
Jason Moore
We wanted to believe that.
Mike Wright
We wanted you to see that. I murdered a bird.
Jason Moore
You. You had a good time.
Mike Wright
I had a better time adjusting expectations. Not statistically. I had a better time emotionally.
Jason Moore
I had fun golfing with you.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, it's good.
Mike Wright
It's good.
Jason Moore
You know, we've had quite a few people reach out since we've started. I will say this, you know, because we're golfers now.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Total golfer.
Jason Moore
Which, by the way, Mike came out today for the first time. And how long has it been since you golfed?
Andy Holloway
Pre pandemic.
Jason Moore
Pre pandemic. He played great. Better than all of us, or so I've been told. I was not in his foursome, but they're all bragging.
Mike Wright
Fortunately, I was. And he played great.
Jason Moore
How did you play out?
Andy Holloway
All right?
Mike Wright
I did not play well. This is what's unfortunate. Like, we had a bet last week and about me versus you, and we both played pretty poorly. And I played the same this week I did last week, but you played just much worse.
Andy Holloway
Terrible.
Mike Wright
I would have smoked you. And apparently I'm really motivated by a hundred dollar bills.
Jason Moore
Your whole story right there was you played equally bad.
Andy Holloway
Exactly.
Mike Wright
But you would have smoked him, Smoked him.
Jason Moore
If he had just played worse than
Mike Wright
you, like he did this week. Is that too much to ask?
Jason Moore
I don't know. I don't know what it is. I don't know what we do on the golf course, but it's getting hotter in Arizona, so who knows if we'll keep doing it?
Andy Holloway
Get out there.
Jason Moore
