Jason Moore
Welcome to the podcast.
Andy Holloway
Stick the landing, man. Russian judge is not impressed.
Mike Wright
649 shows was okay. 650 too much.
Andy Holloway
Welcome.
Jason Moore
Maybe I was a little bit choked up. I mean, I was clearly. But maybe it had to do with, you know. Oh, maybe it was my way of dealing with it.
Mike Wright
Sure.
Jason Moore
Maybe I just choked on some spit. I don't know.
Mike Wright
Sure.
Andy Holloway
Speaking of choked up, we'll get into the football, but I finished the new Adam Sandler show.
Mike Wright
Oh, yeah. The ending is fantastic.
Andy Holloway
It's incredible.
Jason Moore
You're talking about the Netflix special.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, his Netflix special.
Jason Moore
Now we're gonna get accused of sneaky Netflix ads.
Andy Holloway
But this is not.
Mike Wright
This is life.
Andy Holloway
I watched this last night and I was getting emotional. It's like he thanks everyone for growing old with him. I'm like, holy crap.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that's you.
Andy Holloway
Adam Sandler's been a part of my life for 20 years.
Mike Wright
Yeah. You realize all of a sudden that it's you, it's Adam.
Andy Holloway
And then I, like, I looked in the Mir mirror and instantly 5000 wrinkles just appeared on my face.
Jason Moore
They were already.
Mike Wright
Yep. Yeah, they sure were.
Andy Holloway
No, they weren't.
Jason Moore
Wednesday, November 14, 2018. So you were more emotional about Adam Sandler than you were Lev Bell is what you're saying?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, love Bell. I've already removed him from my life.
Jason Moore
We'll talk about that momentarily. We have a great show today. The Thursday night preview. A ton of Foot Clan questions, some mailbag for the upcoming week, some news and notes, lots going on. I wanted to remind people, I mean, next week is this. Right?
Mike Wright
This is Megalodon.
Jason Moore
Is Thanksgiving that close?
Mike Wright
Yeah. Yeah, it is. It's the 22nd. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
You can't. You don't get the feeling of like.
Jason Moore
So Megalod, the Megalodon episode is the 20. Megalodon is the 21st. So, I mean, this is a big deal, guys.
Mike Wright
It's a huge deal. Yeah.
Jason Moore
This is not a regular show. It's the Megalodon.
Mike Wright
No, you got to start preparing yourselves now, Foot Clan, to hydrate. You're gonna have to hydrate. You probably need to fast the morning of to make sure that your body is prepped for the longest show that we do every year, the Megalodon. Megalodon.
Jason Moore
Do people normally consume a Megalodon in one city?
Mike Wright
They have to. It's rule.
Andy Holloway
It's the rolling, the strong.
Mike Wright
You don't start it if you're. If Your job starts 30 minutes from now and you start that podcast, you are an hour and a half late to work, by rule.
Jason Moore
Well, you can't listen at work.
Mike Wright
Correct. You've got a student dedicate.
Jason Moore
What if you.
Andy Holloway
What if you don't?
Jason Moore
You keep the earbuds in, though, while you walk from the car to your office. You just can't let it stop. Is which, I mean, I think that's the key.
Mike Wright
Sure, I'll allow it.
Jason Moore
No matter where you're moving, you can.
Mike Wright
Listen however you want to.
Jason Moore
Foot Clan.
Mike Wright
Don't listen to Brooks.
Jason Moore
Get out of here. 650 shows is just about enough of you. All right, Megalodon next week. That just basically means a really, really amazing show.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, of course.
Jason Moore
That's very long.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
Yeah, Brooks won't be able to handle it@the ff ballers on Twitter, YouTube.com the fantasy footballers. JoinTheFoot.com is our fantasy football community of more than 7,000 of you foot clan out there that are.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, what's up?
Jason Moore
Hanging out and get various perks, premium projections, flex ranks, all that stuff@jointhefoot.com like.
Andy Holloway
A live stream today.
Jason Moore
Yeah, no doubt about it.
Andy Holloway
Jason, just remembered.
Mike Wright
Yes. Thank you very much for reminding me that we have a live stream today.
Jason Moore
In some ways, you could call each live stream a surprise livestream because we are not very good at, you know, like, it gets planned out ahead of time. But then Brooks walks in and goes today's livestream. And then we all, you know, yes. We're like, yeah, let's do it. And then we're live. It just. You push a button. It is Wednesday, though, and on Wednesdays.
Mike Wright
Oh, oh, O'Reilly.
Jason Moore
Pump the brakes with O'Reilly Auto Parts. We thank them for sponsoring this segment. Who are you pumping the brakes on for week 11?
Andy Holloway
I'll jump in here. It was originally just going to be Adrian Peterson against the Texans. I'm not expecting very strong things, especially with the offensive line of the injuries for Washington, but I'm going global. I'm grouping them all together and I'm saying I'm pumping the brakes on Washington's offense the past six weeks. Only the Houston Texans rank top five against the quarterback, running back and wide receiver position. This is not a matchup that I want in on. So if I have other pieces that I can plug in, I will pivot away from Adrian Peterson and the like.
Jason Moore
Well, I mean, there's an argument to be made that pumping the brakes on Adrian Peterson and pumping the brakes on the Washington offense are one in the same. They may be the same thing for most fantasy owners.
Andy Holloway
Well, I mean, look, Dachshund's a touchdown maniac these days.
Jason Moore
Maurice Harris is obviously, yeah, incredible. But. No, I get it. That makes sense. And I'm taking a similar approach. I'm pumping the brakes on the Bengals offense without A.J. green. It hurt. We said it on the show. We said, like, I want to be all in on more targets for Boyd, but it doesn't. It changes everything. It changes what's available to Boyd. And then Mixon, we said maybe it'll affect him. Well, both guys struggled last week. They play Baltimore coming off the by this week. They have recently fired the defensive coordinator. It's a bit of a. They're teetering on the ledge here.
Andy Holloway
They did add your favorite coach of all time, though.
Mike Wright
That's a good point.
Jason Moore
You don't.
Andy Holloway
You don't see a big Hugh Jackson bump coming for this Bengals offense.
Jason Moore
I see a huge Axon, a huge nothing. I see nothing. I. Look Andy Dalton, Tyler Boyd, Joe Mixon. Look, you're starting Joe Mixon if you own him. You're probably starting Tyler Boyd if you own it. But I'm not expecting big things this week from anybody on that offense against Baltimore without AJ Green.
Mike Wright
Tyler Boyd is not an auto start for me. He's a. You need to look at your team and see if he is. If he is, you know, the best option, he very well could be this week because, you know, he'll. He'll have the targets. He has the most routes run on the team. But he's not an auto start with a bad matchup if the Bengals are struggling. I agree. My pump the brakes is going to be on a guy that started so hot that you just assumed he is an. Every week, every week must start for a garbage position. That is Jared Cook of the Oakland Raiders. Now, they lost Amari Cooper. He's got to be great. The problem is Jared Cook has sucked. He has not been very good at all.
Jason Moore
This.
Andy Holloway
This reminds me of something because this, this is pretty rare, a very rare occurrence in the brain of Mike Wright. I had a dream last night that I was hanging out with Jon Gruden and we were driving around.
Mike Wright
Called a nightmare. We were.
Andy Holloway
No, it was awesome. We were driving around in a truck and I'm asking him like candid questions about. I'm like, oh, hey, so which quarterback are you going to draft? And he just laughs. And I talked about how you like, well, would you, would you have traded Derek Carr if someone would have given you a two? And he says, no, but a one.
Jason Moore
He said that.
Andy Holloway
I was like, gruden, you're being so honest right now, man. I love it.
Mike Wright
That's fantastic. What do you say about Jared Cook this week?
Andy Holloway
Says stinks.
Mike Wright
Yeah, there you go. So here's the thing. Jared Cook, first four games of the year, he was on pace for 104 receptions, 1480 yards, eight touchdowns. You go. He's just going to be great. The last four games, including two without Amari Cooper, 48 receptions, 624 yards, four touchdowns. He's not a must start this week specifically. I mean, Jared Cook is still a startable tight end going through most of the weeks going forward because it is so garbage. But it's a very low over under game in Arizona, so they are on the road. There shouldn't be a lot of points put up by either side of the ball.
Jason Moore
It's the lowest over under in the week.
Mike Wright
So it's just a lot of arrows. Put it this way, he's not in my top 12. So if you're in a 12 team league, I believe there are 12 tight ends. I would start ahead of Jared Cook this week.
Jason Moore
Did you have any dreams last night, Jay?
Mike Wright
I'm sure I did.
Jason Moore
But you don't remember them?
Mike Wright
No. I think I was in the back seat and in the front seat was me and Jon Gruden, Mike and John Gruden.
Jason Moore
I had a very different dream last night that I was the guitarist for the Counting Crows.
Mike Wright
We'll have to bring this up on our Spitballers podcast.
Jason Moore
So I've got more problems than either of you at the moment. Let's talk news.
Mike Wright
News and notes from around the league.
Jason Moore
I now realize, I mean, just how strange that sounds if you didn't know that, like we had been joking about the Counting Crows song.
Andy Holloway
There's no context like, there's no context.
Jason Moore
Like I'm just a 34 year old man. We were talking about the Mr. Jones and me song about Aaron Jones and then that turned into listening to Counting Crows around the office and now I'm the guitarist.
Mike Wright
Congrats.
Jason Moore
Are they touring?
Mike Wright
I doubt it. So congrats on your retirement.
Jason Moore
The only thing they're doing is that little video special on Monday Night Football.
Andy Holloway
Oh, they're next.
Jason Moore
Yeah. It's like them Bush, Dishwalla. Who else is in on that?
Mike Wright
Don't put Bush in that category. Bush is great.
Jason Moore
Bush was on it.
Mike Wright
They were already on. They were on it. I'm saying in the category of like. Oh, that's.
Andy Holloway
Oh.
Jason Moore
Of 90s alternative.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
News and notes from around the league.
Andy Holloway
Spin Doctors for the next week.
Jason Moore
No doubt about it. Spin Doctors. All right. This is the final Bell. Look, I.
Mike Wright
It's.
Jason Moore
This is difficult.
Mike Wright
This is the end.
Jason Moore
This is the end.
Mike Wright
This is great news.
Jason Moore
We don't have to talk about Love Bell anymore.
Andy Holloway
That's the great news.
Jason Moore
I put out a tweet. I said, look, some of you need to deal with your hatred, your anger, your sadness, your toil, your drafting of Love Bell early. I said, give me your puns. Give me your pun. Give me your end of Lev Bell puns. Now, one of the first responses I got is, I'm sitting out on the puns in hopes of long term pun security next year. But for those of you who were living in Le'Veon hell this year, the bell has tolled. There is no Bell at the ball. And if you drafted him, you're the honorary winner of the. The Nobel Prize.
Mike Wright
Oh, yeah, there's the win.
Andy Holloway
Oh, that feels so good.
Jason Moore
But Lev Bell did not report by Tuesday's 4pm deadline. He is out for the remainder of the season. I had a listener send me a screenshot. They dropped Love Bell to pick up Eli Manning. So I was physically ill after seeing that for a couple of hours.
Mike Wright
This is good news for fantasy football though, because now there is a stud running back in Pittsburgh. If Lev Bell came back, you don't know.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Mike Wright
Is it. Is it Bell? Is it Connor? Who's the. You got to talk about it. This is just great. There's clarity. If you had Bell cut him, he can't play. He's like by rule, he is out.
Andy Holloway
If you have.
Jason Moore
This is a bridge situation you're breaking. Oh, yeah, you got a backstorm, you're punting Love.
Andy Holloway
It's a quick follow up for James Conner. What is your level of enthusiasm, or I should say confidence for Jalen Samuels as the handcuff. As the handcuff for James Conner?
Jason Moore
Plenty.
Mike Wright
Yeah. I mean, I. That's who they have brought in, especially this last game.
Andy Holloway
Also, I believe on Yahoo he still has tight end eligibility who so that'd be pretty sweet. That would be, you know, tight end only bananas.
Jason Moore
Certainly does not on espn. I'm not sure about Sleeper, but yeah.
Mike Wright
He was a tight end in college technically, but I believe I saw that.
Jason Moore
He'S, he's obviously a handcuff. And James Conner is the top five running back rest of season. I mean this is a team that's ascending. They've won a number of games in a row. And update on James Conner. He is expected to practice on Wednesday from the concussion concerns. So this is full steam ahead for James Conner and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I'm not 100% sure it's Jalen Samuels because Steven Ridley has come in in the past and performed well. I think he played Week 17 last year, if memory serves right, when they.
Jason Moore
Basically, I mean, it's not what you want. I mean it's not what you want at all. But depending on your what's available on the waiver wire, there are still some waiver running backs. I'd probably rather roster than Jalen Samuels, but you know, whoever's running back in that system is going to have a lot of scoring opportunities. Big news. The Monday Rams chief Chiefs game that was going to be played in Mexico City, well above sea level. It's back in Los Angeles due to poor field conditions at Azteca Stadium. It is a 64 point over under. But this is going to be a quote unquote home game for the Rams. I guess I put that. I guess that's a weird quote. Well, I put it in quotes when you play in la, but that really only belongs to the Chargers.
Mike Wright
Yeah, right.
Jason Moore
So it will be a home game. It will be an exciting game. It will be a very fun game for fantasy owners. Tons of matchups to be defined on Monday night. So we'll get into those matchups later in the week. And then news broke. Brian Schottenheimer confirmed that Chris Carson, Seattle running back, will start week 11 tomorrow night against the Packers. We'll talk through the Thursday night preview. Later in the show we'll talk about Carson, Mike Davis and Rashad Penny. Yeah.
Mike Wright
Yeah. Yep.
Jason Moore
Let's get into the mailbag.
Mike Wright
Mailbag.
Jason Moore
All right. Welcome into the Mailbag. If you have a question for the show, go to the website thefantasyfootballers.com click the submit a question button in the menu or you can dial our voicemail hotline. The number is 302-464-TFFB. We'll start with a voicemail.
Mike Wright
Hey guys, this is Alex from Boston. I Have a Lev Bell question for you. We know he's not playing this year but want to see what you guys think his keeper value is going forward. Is he worth the first round pick? Second round pick?
Jason Moore
Who'd you guys equator to?
Mike Wright
Awesome. Thanks a lot. Appreciate it.
Jason Moore
It's a great question because you can talk about Love Bell at a time when he won't matter. So I think he's a first rounder.
Mike Wright
Yeah, he's probably going to be a first rounder. He'll get the amount of money that guarantees his workload but he won't be as good as he was for the Steelers because he won't be on a high powered offense. He won't be on behind a great offensive line. He's probably looking at teams like the New York jets, the Oakland Raiders, teams that will have a lot of cap space and need, you know that that high price running back to sell tickets. I doubt this is a situation, you know, Philadelphia doesn't pay up and doesn't have the cap space. I would be shocked if all of a sudden next year they went and made a splash for Leve Bell. He's probably going to be playing a lot of snaps, get a lot of usage for a sub 500 team. Would be my current projection which would put him at the back of the.
Andy Holloway
First the from my projecting I believe that the top teams the most likely destination for Le'Veon Bell Colts and this is not in a particular order. Colts, Jets, Raiders, Texans and maybe Philadelphia. I think that they're a dark horse.
Jason Moore
But I like those picks but those.
Andy Holloway
Are the four the most likely places.
Jason Moore
And I would include Baltimore in there myself.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Jason Moore
In division and I think that. Look, I know that that Joe Flacco is going to count against the cap if they let him go but I think they will move on from him. And whenever you have the opportunity, anytime you have a Dak Zeke situation right where you're on a rookie deal.
Andy Holloway
Right.
Jason Moore
You can invest more in that running back that could be a potential destination. Plus you tell me Love Bell doesn't want to go play in Baltimore. If the money. If the money's there.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. So that he might.
Jason Moore
They want to run the ball but.
Andy Holloway
Or he can go play for the Colts in a nice dome and no more of those sludge fests in the winter.
Jason Moore
Do you guys have any concern with him skipping a year from an injury perspective?
Mike Wright
Not really because I would be more concerned if he comes back middle of the year. He doesn't get training camp, he doesn't get things like that, where all of a sudden he's going from 0 to 100 a la des Bryant. We've seen players, Marshawn Lynch, Ricky Williams who take off a year.
Andy Holloway
Peterson not injured, not by his own choice, but he did well.
Mike Wright
But you're saying not by injury, by suspension or other means. And when they come back the next year, get the full training camp, I don't worry about injury in that situation.
Jason Moore
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Kyle in South Carolina has a question. If Carson plays, should I start him or Tyler Lockett in my flex? These are my best options in a 12 team non PPR league. It's a standard scoring league. And we've got the Thursday night game.
Andy Holloway
I assume this is Chris Carson and not Carson Daly. Did I get a chuckle from the back?
Mike Wright
That was. Shame on you, Brooks.
Jason Moore
I'm nearly certain because that's a bad joke. Yeah, I'm nearly certain that it's Chris Carson.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I'm going to go Chris Carson.
Andy Holloway
All right.
Jason Moore
Also, that joke falls right into the time period. Counting Crows was hot.
Mike Wright
So Chris Carson, were they ever hot?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I think so.
Mike Wright
They were hot versus Tyler Lockett. Tyler Lockett has been doing, you know, the unimaginable things. Catching a touchdown almost every week, never getting more than about three receptions. It's hard to start him. Chris Carson, you've got the volume. You know, if he's in the game, he's getting 20 plus carries. But I think this is a legit question because in a game on Thursday night, short rest, short week. I have a hard time believing Chris.
Andy Holloway
Carson short rest for Chris Carson.
Mike Wright
Well, but Chris Carson didn't practice at all last week. Going from a place where you don't practice, don't play, can't. Can't do that. And then in a short week, coming back and getting 20 plus carries in a game with a high over under that's probably going to need to throw the ball. This looks like a great Tyler Lockett game.
Jason Moore
I'm going to take Chris Carson.
Andy Holloway
I am too.
Jason Moore
Jason, where do you. Are you going? Lockett?
Mike Wright
I guess I probably probability says Chris Carson will have more opportunity. But when Pete Carroll says things like Chris Carson is ready, he's going to be the guy. And Rashad Penny is still learning the.
Jason Moore
Offense with Ryan Schottenheimer.
Mike Wright
Sure.
Jason Moore
Michael Keaton.
Andy Holloway
Liar McLiface.
Mike Wright
Right. Okay, that's, that's good. As I was about to make Rashad Penny my start of the week. Not really, but you know, you just can't trust. I dare you out of Seattle. No, thank you.
Jason Moore
This question is going to open up a can of worms if I know Mike, right? This is an ethics question.
Andy Holloway
How dare you.
Jason Moore
If you were going, yeah, he's got very questionable ethics. I mean, Mike is. He's the fuzziest of all ethics. If you were going into week 13 with a buy secured, would you set a suboptimal lineup to try to keep another team out of the playoffs? This question, this question ventures into doing the best for your team. We've talked about it time and time again. I know that the consensus viewpoint will be that this is wrong. I tend to think it's wrong as well. It's an integral league integrity issue. But when you think about what's best for your own personal team, sometimes it's best to keep a, you know, keep a competitor out of the playoffs that you think is better.
Andy Holloway
That's where it's difficult. I mean, we've seen this type of thing from professional teams. I recall the different sports. So maybe, maybe you've never heard of them. But the San Antonio spurs have frequently horse racing.
Jason Moore
Right.
Andy Holloway
Basketball. They have frequently rested star players in what seem like key situations and it modifies their chances at winning and changes their playoff seating.
Jason Moore
The commissioner of the league did instill penalties for that. Now because of league integrity issues and ultimately that was more in line with fans pay money to go see players play. I think that you. I don't know, I think that you pretty much owe it to your league to play your players. I mean, yeah, if you're benching a player. What's the difference between playing a suboptimal lineup and just benching your player?
Mike Wright
Well, that, that's what I was going to bring up is, is let's say you want to do this strategy and whatever. I wouldn't do it. I don't recommend it. But if you wanted to do it, you still must. You absolutely have to field a complete roster. You cannot. I mean that because that's the rules of the game is you start one quarterback, one running back, one wider.
Andy Holloway
Should be the.
Mike Wright
Should be.
Jason Moore
Because that was another question people send in.
Mike Wright
My tight end is on by like Kittle. Do I have to drop someone on my bench to feel the starting lineup?
Jason Moore
I'm guaranteed by in the playoffs. So I have to. Yes, you do. You do have to feel the full lineup. That's just the rule of the league. I mean, you, you can't fill.
Mike Wright
I have gone and not dropped a player in the past and had a buy, you know, in a, in a bipocalypse it said there's no one I can drop. I'd rather not play a kicker. And in a situation like that, I mean you're, you're doing, you are doing the best you can.
Jason Moore
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Because you're, you're talking about the integrity of the league. Is it better for your team to have filled that tight end spot with a just absolute garbage who's going to get you two points or drop a player who is going to now help somebody else's team?
Jason Moore
I understand that logic. I understand the logic behind that. But I put starting a full lineup at the top of what a league is. Right. It's part of your job as an owner in the beginning of the year to the end is to field a full lineup. If you know that as a standard and rule, then you have misappropriated your resources. You have not planned your team correctly because you knew you had to fill a full lineup.
Mike Wright
I can agree with that. And I think that leagues should have that as a league wide rule that you must field a lineup, full roster, every single week.
Jason Moore
I think it's pretty much a standard rule.
Mike Wright
It's inherent, it's a should be rule. But I'm. You should make it an official rule because like I said, I have personally had the bi week player in because I didn't want to drop. If I knew in one of our leagues that you must feel the complete lineup every week. That is a hard and fast rule. I would have made plans prior to that week or else had to drop someone. Shame on me.
Andy Holloway
Is it an auto forfeit if you don't make that rule?
Mike Wright
No.
Jason Moore
No.
Andy Holloway
Okay. But I mean that's kind of what, that's what you're looking at least this player. That's what they're asking for. So here's what I would do. The real answer to this question, because I believe you should be playing a lineup as well. Maybe you just play your. If you have real boom bust players, just go for it. Go for the moose you're either just going to absolutely crush with a huge point total or maybe they help you out and they bust this week.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
And I'll just throw in there the reality that we think that we can control our destiny in these leagues but you don't know who you're going to play. There's so many interdependencies. You might not be able to do yourself many favors in even making that effort. You don't know how many points you need for tiebreakers. I mean there's very few situations where this applies, but it's a. I mean, I get it. This question comes through.
Andy Holloway

Jason Moore
I want to be the guy who drops Ron Gronkowski?
Mike Wright
Thanks, guys.
Andy Holloway
Number one, Stay safe, my man. I'm not dropping Gronk. You've held on this long, you might as well just see it to the end.
Jason Moore
It's not even a question in my mind that I would drop Gronk. The potential for Gronk and what he does to your roster is huge, even. Look, we talk about it being a disappointing year for Rob Gronkowski. Well, a disappointing year for Rob Gronkowski is better than any middling tight end when he starts.
Andy Holloway
Obviously, when he's injured, he has Greg Olson.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I still. If he's healthy, I'm playing him over Greg Olson.
Andy Holloway
And yeah, they're. Here's the thing for Gronk, he has been able to rest for quite some time. The biggest knock on Gronk historically is he's going to be awesome for your team, but he's going to miss games. But when he comes back from those games, he's back to being Gronk. So that's the rub. Grasping at straws. Hope that you have is that he's rested and once he's back through the bye week, he. He will be back on the field doing Gronkian things.
Mike Wright
I will drop Gronk the second he is put on IR and not one second before.
Andy Holloway
Sure.
Mike Wright
So if he goes on ir, sure, then you can. Otherwise, you have to hold him. No way. Or if you can get trade value for him. Someone else wanted to take the gamble, I'd be willing.
Andy Holloway
But he said he can't trade, then hold.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I mean, absolutely. At the end of the day, the value of Gronk returning is high. And do you read much into these reports that have come out from peripheral sources saying, look, Gronk ain't back next year, they won't let him back in the building. This is the final year for Gronk in New England. And do you read that into his performance? Do you read that into their utilization? I mean, this is a team that. Who knows if Julian Edelman's Ankle is going to be okay.
Mike Wright
No, I don't read it too much in. I mean, this is a health issue. This is a back issue. If he was able to perform, he'd be out there both from his point of view and from the Patriots. This is just an injury. I will say I read into it for Dynasty purposes. Been saying this from before this season. Trade Gronk if you can in Dynasty. It's harder to do now because who.
Andy Holloway
Knows, he might retire Gronk next year. His contract, the dead money drops. If they're choosing to cut him, it would only be a 2 million dollar dead cap hit for the Patriots. That's pretty easy to move on if they want to go that route.
Jason Moore
Do you believe that if they went that route that Rob Gronkowski would stay around for a couple years or retire?
Andy Holloway
I think he would retire.
Jason Moore
I think he would play.
Mike Wright
Yeah. If he was.
Jason Moore
What do you think? I think he would go sign.
Mike Wright
I think if he was cut, the pride level would make him sign. If. If he chose to retire and just leave on his own.
Andy Holloway
He definitely has the pride, but the dude's got all the money that he needs. He can go out and be an endorsement king. His body is just absolutely beat up.
Jason Moore
Rob Gronkowski signs with the Los Angeles Rams.
Mike Wright
Oh, that. You were going to make me excited if you said Chargers.
Andy Holloway
Don't speak that to my Gerald Everett Dynasty.
Jason Moore
He wants to be out in Hollywood. He wants to do the rock thing. Let's get him out to laugh.
Mike Wright
Philip Rivers, the guy that targets Titans like crazy.
Jason Moore
Yeah. He would do okay with Jared Goff and Sean McVeigh. I think McVeigh would figure it out. All right, let's move on. Another question here. Where does Ty. This is from a name I can't read. Ian Joy Clementines on Instagram.
Andy Holloway
I enjoy.
Jason Moore
I was trying to read it as a name, not a. Not a sentence.
Mike Wright
Ian.
Jason Moore
So I thought it was Ian. Ian Joy.
Mike Wright
Ian Joy.
Jason Moore
I forget sometimes we have. We haven't been able to sneak a lot of mailbag on the show lately. I forget how much fun it is to decipher these.
Andy Holloway
This dude loves oranges.
Jason Moore
Oh, yeah. Can't get enough clementine. Specifically, where does Ty Hilton, so easy to peel. Rank rest of season among wide receivers?
Andy Holloway
Top 12.
Jason Moore
Don't get me started on peeling regular oranges.
Mike Wright
Oh, good.
Jason Moore
That ain't worth the effort.
Andy Holloway
No, it's. No, it's not. You had step one, put a. Put a slit in there, peel off a couple pieces at step two, throw in garbage.
Jason Moore
Yeah, it's troubles. Speaking of, what do you do with Ty Hilton?
Mike Wright
Yeah, Ty Hilton has been disappointing. He doesn't have the best matchup this week.
Jason Moore
You know what his biggest problem is?
Andy Holloway
Eric Ebron.
Jason Moore
No, it's that WR next to his name. He's not a tight end.
Mike Wright
Oh, because if he. Luck only throws to tight end, he reclassified himself.
Andy Holloway
What if he put. Yeah, what if he. He said, I'm a tight end and he put on, like, really, really big shoulder pads?
Jason Moore
It'd be fun to watch, but he would probably still fail because this is not working out for him.
Mike Wright
I don't know that Ty Hilton is a top 12 rest of season. No, to me he is.
Andy Holloway
To me, he's close. Yeah.
Jason Moore
Top 12. Has he had a top 12 week this year?
Mike Wright
I think he had one, but I don't know.
Andy Holloway
He still is.
Jason Moore
Okay, well, let me.
Mike Wright
Let me ask you guys some names.
Jason Moore
Four catches, one catch, three catches, last three weeks.
Mike Wright
Names that are obviously.
Jason Moore
I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm just laying it out there.
Mike Wright
Names that are obviously ahead. Antonio Brown. Julio Jones. Odell Beckham. Michael Thomas. Devonte Adams. Adam Thielen.
Jason Moore
Stefan Diggs.
Mike Wright
Stefan Diggs. Tyreek Hill. Probably Brandon Cooks.
Jason Moore
Robert Woods.
Mike Wright
Robert Woods. I would agree. So then how Many is that?
Jason Moore
10.
Mike Wright
That's 10. Keenan.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I'd take Keenan.
Mike Wright
I would probably take Keenan, but they're about the same tier. Juju.
Jason Moore
I would take juju.
Mike Wright
I would take juju.
Jason Moore
So maybe he's not 12 to 15.
Andy Holloway
Top 15.
Jason Moore
Okay. It's actually good to lay that out a little bit because I would definitely take Keenan over Hilton, but that's about.
Mike Wright
Where the break is because then you're dealing with guys like Josh Gordon and Tyler and Alshon. Jeffrey. I think I would take Ty ahead of.
Jason Moore
You didn't say A.J. green either. Oh, A.J. or Julio. I don't think. Did you say.
Mike Wright
Yeah, he was.
Jason Moore
Would you take Josh Gordon at Ty Hilton rest of the season? That's the qu. That's a great question to me.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, it is.
Jason Moore
And I would. Eileen Gordon.
Andy Holloway
Eileen Gordon as well.
Mike Wright
Yeah, actually, I do. I do, too.
Jason Moore
All right, here's a question from Instagram. I'm sorry. From Facebook. Paul Davenport says, who's got a better rest of season outlook? Larry Fitzgerald, Gerald or mvs Marquez Valdez scantling.
Mike Wright
Rest of season. I'm going to take Marquez Valdez scantling. I'm going to take the number two wide receiver for Aaron Rodgers who, you know, can play well at home, could play well on the road. I still believe that Larry Fitzgerald has good weeks in store, but he's going to be up and down for a low scoring team. That's not, that's not where I want to put my fantasy chips.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I would go MBS for sure. There's a lot more upside to him. A lot more big play capability is 4, 3, 9, 40.
Andy Holloway
I agree with the upside, but I will point out Byron, left, which has been the offensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals for two games. In those two games, Larry Fitzgerald has received 12 targets and 10 targets.
Mike Wright
Oh, you don't have. I mean, I agree. You, you clearly have not looked at our Thursday doc yet. What? Yes, sir.
Jason Moore
What is that Little.
Mike Wright
Little spoiler. Okay.
Jason Moore
Start of the week preview. Yeah, okay.
Andy Holloway
Yes. Little John. Just. It's. It' yeah, yeah. It's all 90s, early 2000s references right now.
Jason Moore
All right, let's move on. Voicemail.
Mike Wright
Hey, guys, Matt from Long Island, New York here. I just wanted to ask two quick questions. Number one quick question is I need to know what Mike's main character and.
Jason Moore
Class was for World of Warcraft.
Mike Wright
And number two, I wanted to know if this is a good time of year for any Dynasty tips in preparation for next year because I am a first time Dynasty player this year. Love the show. Thanks a lot. You guys are great.
Jason Moore
Well, first of all, congratulations on the Dynasty experience. It's super fun. My Dynasty team is being maimed each and every week, so depth is always the tip I give for Dynasty players. I would also say that sometimes you can identify in a dynasty league, especially a new one that you're in. And Mike, I'll let you get to your World of Warcraft question, very important, in a minute. But in a new dynasty league, I think there's a lot of value to be found in players that have two or three, one, one or two one to three years left on the shelf because they're not attractive to Dynasty owners. Nobody looks at them and says, man, I really got to get. I don't know, let me give Lamar Miller maybe, or he might be a bad example because I don't really love him in Dynasty. But there are players that have one or two years left that you can get super cheap.
Andy Holloway
Like Shady.
Jason Moore
Sure.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
I mean, you might be able to go out and this will be a decent example, but maybe you can trade academia, ST. Brown or a player of that caliber that has a lot of perceived upside where, you know, 80% of those guys don't pan out. John Ross.
Andy Holloway
Right, right.
Jason Moore
And go acquire a guy that has real value. For a couple of years and set the table for your team. So that, that's one of my pieces of advice at trade deadline now is who's going to have a year or two of value left and who can you acquire on the cheap?
Mike Wright
And I would, My tip would just be spot track.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, that's exactly what mine was going to be.
Mike Wright
I mean, that's a website to look up player contracts. Being aware of player contracts is as important as being aware of player age. In dynasty, everyone goes, oh, who's young, who's got a long career left? But it's, you know, it's more than that. It's whose opportunities are going to come up because someone's about to be cut. You know, we knew that coming into this past year with Cortland Sutton, he had a huge future because there's no way they were going to keep Emmanuel Sanders and Demarius Thomas. They might not even keep Emmanuel Sanders after this year just based on the cap situation, what they can get rid of guys for at the end of this year. So knowing salaries and what their contract situations are.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, it's all about the expiring contract. It's. It's about finding players who have flashed at least a little bit, which if they flash, they're probably on. But there's going to be guys on your waiver wire who are about to go on to a new team, perhaps a new opportunity. These are flyers. I mean, they rarely pan out. And this year in particular is pretty tough. It's. It's far more interesting. Tight ends that might be on your waiver wire that, that have a new opportunity coming.
Jason Moore
But what about pre breakout wideouts? I mean, if you had been in on juju early last year, that would have been great.
Andy Holloway
Well, but you still, I mean, you had to draft juju in the late first, early second round of rookie drafts.
Jason Moore
I mean, well, but there was a time, I think, when people probably perceived, I don't know, John Ross and juju in similar breaths from a future perspective.
Andy Holloway
Sure.
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
I'm just saying, is there a DJ Moore or a player of that caliber where you can go target them before a breakout?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you can try. In my experience, that's harder to do.
Jason Moore
First.
Andy Holloway
Guys that were drafted in the first round, wide receivers, even if they bust that first year, they don't really lose their dynasty.
Mike Wright
People still hold the value because they drafted them.
Andy Holloway
Exactly. And for your very important question, Torin Druid named Walton.
Jason Moore
That was your first ever character?
Andy Holloway
That was my main character.
Jason Moore
Main character, yes, that was. I Was there in the. The vanilla days.
Andy Holloway
Oh, Torrent, you know, vanilla's coming back.
Jason Moore
Is it?
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Really?
Mike Wright
Yes.
Jason Moore
To the like official interesting and also social Blizzard release.
Andy Holloway
Speaking not sponsored.
Jason Moore
I was. I was a Torren warrior.
Andy Holloway
Oh, very nice.
Mike Wright
So speaking of spot track and contracts and we brought up stuff earlier. I wanted to look this up because we've talked about it a couple times in the office. Joe Flacco's contract situation. If they want to cut him, he's owed basically cap hit of 26 and a half million dollars next year. If they keep him, he'll be dead cap of 16 million. So they'd only. They'd save 10 million but they would still have to have a dead cap hit of 16 million if they cut him, which still might be worth.
Jason Moore
I think.
Andy Holloway
I think it's very possible they do move on.
Jason Moore
Saving 10 million is saving 10 million.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, that's what I say.
Jason Moore
Leve Bell doesn't say that though. Here's an interesting question, by the way, Jason. We've been doing some work. Obviously we talked about this on the show a couple few days ago. I'm sure we'll tweet about it. But we've been working to refine some of our processes, getting our weekly rankings up, improving our algorithms, improving our predictions. We've been doing some work to try to improve the speed at which we can get the rankings out early in the week. Is this a fair time to kind of. I mean, Jared Goff is here. Do you mind if we share the news?
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Our rankings, always excited to do more.
Mike Wright
Our.
Andy Holloway
I don't know what's happening.
Mike Wright
Here's what's happening. Our rankings that usually go up today. Wednesday.
Jason Moore
Which they will.
Mike Wright
Yes. And they usually go up what, three Eastern or so?
Jason Moore
Yeah. Probably right around. Yeah. Noon our time.
Mike Wright
They will start going up on Tuesday. We have been able to refine a process that I think is. Well, they will go up often. They will be updated more frequently. Basically, whenever you want rankings, we have our rankings that are up to the closest date possible, starting from as early as possible in the week. So if you have.
Jason Moore
Which means the Start Sit tool will be available earlier. Exactly.
Mike Wright
If you have in the past gone on a Tuesday, you need waivers and you want to see how we think about a guy. We now are going to have the ability to get those up a little bit earlier. We've never done that before. Because what matters to us, we would rather have good rankings up on Wednesday than bad rankings up on Tuesday. But we have now got to the point where we will have good rankings up on Tuesday.
Jason Moore
Yeah. So yeah.
Mike Wright
So check out the fantasy footballers.
Jason Moore
You're exactly right. So the start sit tool, the rankings, they're all going to be coming out sooner. Brooks has got a little grin on his face over there. He's very excited. I know from the days when I would be out looking for rankings years and years ago it was, you know, where can I find any information early in the week and we want to provide that to you. So very excited about that. Expect that to begin next week. So yeah, let's grab one more question that I want to get into the Thursday night preview. This is a good one to me. Twitter question from Thomas Outlook on Sony Michelle rest of season I mean it there was a time when we looked at Sony Michelle, his situation in New England, Nick Chubb, right fellow running back, Georgia running back, his situation in Cleveland and you just everything was leaning the Sony Michelle way. So I'd love to know what you think rest of the season between those two and what the rest of the season outlook is for Sony Michelle between those two.
Mike Wright
I would go Chubb at this point based on health and health alone if I knew that Sony Michelle was going to be out. If both guys, Nick Chubb and Sonya Michelle were going to be completely healthy, I would still lean the Sony route. But the fact is Sony got, you know he right before the draft it came out his, you know, whatever it was degenerative knee condition or something like that and then it came up in camp and he missed, you know, the beginning of the season and now he's dealing with another knee issue. So he should be back. But there are concerns there. I would lean Chubb over Sony Michel and then you also have the concerns of Rex Burkheadt.
Andy Holloway
That's what I was going to bring up. Rex Burkheadtt is eligible to come back week 13. I know people can him and haw at Rex Burkhead but you have to at least factor that in the possibility that Rex Burkhead comes back and is immediately inserted back into getting actual snaps for this team. Perhaps some goal line work.
Mike Wright
We it was really around week four when Burkhead was out of the way and Sony was back that Sony took over and was like oh I'm a 25 carry a guy, you know game guy. Before that it was 10 and 14 when Rexy was there.
Jason Moore
Obviously had a really bad game, 2.8 a carry in the game against Tennessee, only 11 carries. I do lean Chubb obviously from total workload, game breaking ability. He's the better pick right now and that team is playing better on offense overall. So let's go ahead and get into Thursday.
Mike Wright
Thursday night breakdown.
Jason Moore
Pretty important game here. The 4 and 4, the 4, 4 and 1 Packers take on the 4 and 5 Seahawks. The Seahawks are at home. This is going to be a prime time game up in Seattle. They are two and a half point favorites. There's a 49 point over under and a lot of question marks in this game and it's really important for both teams. I feel like a loss in this game, it's going to put the packers pretty. They're going to have to run the table if they, if they lose this game and they're dealing with Chicago and Minnesota in that division. And then, you know, the Seahawks, they dropped to four and six if they lose this game at home and it would be an uphill battle to grab a wild card. So what are the big storylines for you guys? I mean these are teams that have opposite play calling philosophies. Green Bay is 30th in the league in percentage of rush plays. Seattle is first and then obviously the inverse. I mean Green Bay throws the ball third most in the league. Seattle's dead last. I mean Seattle is a running team under Brian Schottenheimer. So you know, I know you talked about game script might flip a little bit but they are at home. They're going to control the clock. I'm not certain that this turns into a shootout. I might take the under in this one.
Mike Wright
Yeah, I don't blame you. Especially with the emergence of Aaron Jones and Aaron Rodgers wanting Aaron Jones to get more involved. That might turn the table to where it's, you know, it's not the pass every single down and run every now and then. If they, they being the Green Bay packers get the ball to Aaron Jones more. You could see the under hit in this game.
Andy Holloway
Except Aaron Jones rips off like eight a carry. My man.
Mike Wright
That's fair. He has.
Andy Holloway
It's just as good as passing.
Mike Wright
He's been, he's been great. I mean he really has. Aaron Jones is a guy I want to start. Rashad Penny or not Rashad Penny, Chris Carson, the other running back across the field. I'm, I'm afraid to start him. He'll, I'll say this, he'll be higher in my rankings. He will be because probability says. But he is risky to me with the injuries he's dealt with over the last couple weeks and what Rashad Penny showed. I'm not excited to play Chris Carson or anyone I'm not excited to play Penny or Mike Davis. I just don't know what to do with the Seattle running backs. And if I can pivot, I would. I would do that.
Jason Moore
Mike, do you share that sentiment? I mean, Chris Carson is the one player that, you know, I'm comfortable with in that backfield.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I'm comfortable. Might be a bit too strong, but I would not avoid him.
Jason Moore
Why? Running back two for me.
Mike Wright
Yeah, that's.
Andy Holloway
And that's fair. The Green Bay packers on the season are 16th against running backs, but the past six weeks they are actually 26. So a the matchup has become a bit juicier for fantasy running backs. I would be okay playing Chris Carson, the Mike Davis and backup crew of him and Rashad Penny. I'm not going to play them. They're just going to be on my bench for now.
Jason Moore
Do you have. What are some other big storylines in this game? How confident are you now? Randall Cobb has been declared out for this game. You already don't have Geronimo. Allison. Jeremy Graham seems to be banged up. Only one catch, Jimmy Graham. What did I say?
Andy Holloway
You said Jeremy Graham. You were thinking of. That's what I. We've got recordings of it.
Jason Moore
Brooks, what's the verdict, Judge? I didn't catch it.
Mike Wright
I caught it.
Jason Moore
Yeah, Brooks doesn't need me listen anymore. So to me, is MVS a good start? Is he a flex play in this game?
Andy Holloway
Yes, I. It wasn't a great performance this past week, but he still had seven targets, six receptions for 44 yards. It just. It didn't work out for a huge fantasy day for him, but the opportunity is.
Mike Wright
Is there.
Andy Holloway
The Seattle Seahawks the past six weeks are 25th against the wide receiver fantasy position. So, yes, I'm going to play him.
Jason Moore
It's still weird for me not to think about Richard Sherman lining up as a cornerback on that team. When I think about the matchups, I still picture him there. Yep. So you're starting Adams, you're starting Jones, you're starting Rogers, you're starting mbs.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
And Jimmy Graham, you know, if he's active, you got to start him. Is that where you're at?
Mike Wright
Yeah. He's been super disappointing. The knee injury has kept him out of practice being a short week. I'm not a fan of Jimmy Graham.
Jason Moore
Is Jimmy Graham back next year?
Mike Wright
How could you?
Jason Moore
Is he back next year?
Mike Wright
Oh, yeah.
Andy Holloway
For the Packers.
Mike Wright
He had a such a big contract.
Andy Holloway
They gave him a really.
Jason Moore
Well, I know they gave him a big contract, but I don't know how top heavy that was with. With the risk I'm going to pull it up.
Mike Wright
Yeah, Mike.
Andy Holloway
Because that's very interesting.
Jason Moore
Well then Jason, talk about the other side. Doug Baldwin, he says he's through the knee injuries. He says he's been that way for a while. He actually played more snaps than Tyler Lockett last week. I don't know if that's a good thing to know because he played 99% of snaps, still ended up with 39 yards receiving.
Mike Wright
And that's how it's been all year. There have been many game. You might think if you go look at the box scores, you might think Doug Baldwin is now finally back to playing a lot of snaps. There's been a quite a few games where his snap percentage has been great and he wasn't that involved. His targets are not the valuable type of targets that Tyler Lockets are or even the David Moore's have been. To me, Doug Baldwin, I mean this, this is a matchup that says you can play him. But I would, I would prefer the upside of a long bum touchdown with Tyler Lockett over Doug Baldwin.
Jason Moore
At this point, would you rather play Marquez Valdez scantling Doug Baldwin or Tyler Lockett?
Mike Wright
I would rank those. Marquez Valdez, scantling, Tyler Lockett, Doug Baldwin.
Jason Moore
Yeah. This stat is funny because TJ Hernandez said over the last six weeks no players averaging more fantasy points per pass attempt than Wilson. But the problem is, the problem is he doesn't throw the ball enough for those to accumulate to that degree. And I think everybody wants to have this narrative, the narrative a second half Russell Wilson, second half Doug Baldwin, if you throw the ball the 32nd most in the National Football League. It doesn't matter.
Mike Wright
Yeah, it doesn't help your wide receivers.
Jason Moore
I'm away from that narrative. I'm away from that entirely. I don't think Russell Wilson is going to have a say. Now look, any play he can throw an 80 yard touchdown to lock it. Or Baldwin could have two touchdowns in a game where he has 40 yards receiving. But I don't have confidence in that. So that's the problem. Did you look at Jimmy Graham, by the way?
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Jimmy Graham would be, he's. He'll be a $12 million cap hit next year would be a $7 million dead cap.
Jason Moore
So he'll be around for another year.
Andy Holloway
He'll be around. I find it interesting. What I was looking for is where Russell Wilson ranks. I think he's fourth in passing touchdowns right now. You believe in Eric Ebron and his efficiency of not being on the field very much. Not getting a ton of targets, but scoring a bunch. Yes, but don't believe in Doug Baldwin's.
Jason Moore
Efficiency because he hasn't done that well.
Mike Wright
And I get that.
Jason Moore
What efficiency has Doug Baldwin done?
Mike Wright
I get that.
Andy Holloway
I'm sorry. I apologize. Russell Wilson. Russell Wilson.
Mike Wright
I.
Andy Holloway
The wrong name came out.
Jason Moore
Well, no, the difference is 100% based on options at the position. So I get your argument. Like, I'm not saying you could never start Russell Wilson, but you do run a risk when efficiency is what you're dependent on. You run the same risk with Eric Ebron, but you're playing at a position which dude you play the best odds at a touchdown you can. So Eric Ebron represents a completely different universe.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Mike Wright
Yeah. No, Russell Wilson is a fine play. I mean, he really is. Don't. Don't interpret the fact that we don't know which wide receiver or which tight end to target. Russell is going to do enough at home against the Packers. If you look at the last six weeks, there's been one game where Russell Wilson has not had three passing touchdowns. So he's. He's actually been fine. And we even saw last week when he needed to against the Rams, he rushed the ball. He had 92 yards on the ground, 41. The week before that. Russell Wilson is an absolutely fine play here at home against the packers, but that does. That doesn't translate necessarily to Doug Baldwin.
Jason Moore
Yeah, I think that's fair. Anything else from this game you guys want to touch on? Are we.
Mike Wright
Come on, Ed.
Andy Holloway
The packers are number one.
Jason Moore
I'll tell you right now. I'm going to tell you right now. The amount of reviews related to Red Dead or Red Dead Dixon.
Mike Wright
Yeah.
Jason Moore
On our itunes right now. Our Apple podcasts are comedic.
Mike Wright
Thank you, Footland.
Jason Moore
Yes. Yeah. Although we did. Somebody thought it would be really funny to. To drop a one star for Red Dead Dixon ads.
Mike Wright
Yeah, we shared that. That's why they're all coming in.
Jason Moore
No, no, no. For Red Dead Dixon.
Andy Holloway
Oh, yeah.
Jason Moore
That's not the. That wasn't the one we shared. Oh, that's a totally different one. You're not even listening to the show either. Nobody listens to this show during the show.
Mike Wright
I'll listen to the Megalodon.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Thanks for tuning in. Check out drop.comballers, play some DFS, and we'll catch you tomorrow for matchups. See you later.
Mike Wright
