Cortland Sutton
Hey, this is Cortland Sutton, wide receiver for the Denver Broncos, and you're listening to the Fantasy Footballers.
Andy Holloway
Welcome to the fantasy footballers podcast coming to you from Draft.com Studios with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright.
Jason Moore
Welcome.
Cortland Sutton
Are you talking to you talking to the audience? You talking to this fellow over here, Jim Lovable?
Andy Holloway
I am a gem. That's right. I'm so happy to be back. This is good to be back, America.
Jason Moore
Welcome back, Jason. Oh, I would call it a bit of a surprise because, you know, using injury designations late, late last night, you were more of a questionable.
Cortland Sutton
It was a doubtful.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I was downgraded.
Jason Moore
You were downgraded and then you worked it out before the game.
Andy Holloway
Nothing if not a zombie. I'm back from the dead. I'm ready to eat brains, I guess.
Cortland Sutton
Okay.
Jason Moore
You're nothing if not a zombie. You had a little boom boom action going on.
Cortland Sutton
I had that.
Andy Holloway
I would say that's your comeuppance. Boom boom boom boom. Up and down. Boom boom.
Jason Moore
Welcome back. Don't get us sick. All right, I'll try.
Cortland Sutton
Tried to leave orbit.
Jason Moore
We have fantasy forecast on the Thursday show today starts of the week. Boom boom kicker. Just the boom boom kicker. No other boom boom. And some big news that broke yesterday. Yeah, we'll get into that as well. The full trifecta. Back in full force and getting you ready for, you know, a big Week 14 matchup. And there are some people out there and I've read about that. I don't know, two weeks ago they went into the game, they went into your matchup and you had Kareem Hunt and James Conner and A.J.
Andy Holloway
Green and Emmanuel Sanders.
Jason Moore
And Emmanuel Sanders. And then you don't got any of them anymore.
Cortland Sutton
Hey, fantasy football is tough, man.
Jason Moore
This is true. So we're here to help. And that's what today's show is all about. I want to get into the Emmanuel Sanders news in lieu of a quick question because yesterday got the sleeper alert and it was not good news. It was Emmanuel Sanders going down in practice, said it didn't look good. Then Denver said They feared a tort Achilles. And then it was confirmed, torn Achilles tendon for wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders of the Denver Broncos. He is now placed on ir. His season is over. It's going to be a long road back. We wish him the very best. It is a very difficult injury to suffer. It's also very difficult when you look at Denver might have moved on from him regardless in this off season.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah. And just to piggyback on that next year, Emmanuel Sanders would make 10.2 million. He would make that. But they can cut him for a $2.6 million dead cap hit. And I. It's a tough business. It would not shock me at all to see that happen.
Andy Holloway
With this timeline of his injury.
Cortland Sutton
Let me look at Deontay Foreman. I mean, he's back, I guess. Deontay Foreman, running back for the Texans, but he's a young man and about.
Jason Moore
The same time last year.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Cortland Sutton
Emmanuel Sanders is about 10 years older.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. The timeline for recovery says he's not ready for the start of the season at all. So how you could keep him around.
Jason Moore
I mean, he probably won't play next year. Yeah, I mean, that's the truth.
Andy Holloway
He's probably cut and maybe he'll sign for a playoff contender later. Maybe. Who knows?
Jason Moore
That's a lot harder, too, than even coming back on roster where you know the playbook. And it's coming back late next year on another team.
Andy Holloway
I mean, he was on pace for 11:57 yards, his second most of his career. He's having an excellent season. The Denver Broncos are on a hot winning streak. They're the. They're the new, you know, Cinderella for the playoffs. And then in practice on a Wednesday, you lose your second best weapon and.
Jason Moore
You don't expect it. And you didn't expect it when Demarious Thomas was traded to be both in the hunt, which they are. I mean, I said it earlier this week, I thought they were going to make the playoffs because of their schedule compared to Baltimore's. I thought that Denver might sneak in, but now you have to lean on. Cortland Sutton, Daeshun Hamilton, Tim Patrick, Andre Holmes was signed.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah, third man, but. Yeah, but Daeshun Hamilton. Just speaking for fantasy fallout, Daeshun Hamilton is the player to add. I mean, I don't know if he's going to do anything this year, but Hamilton is. Was drafted to be the replacement for Emmanuel Sanders eventually. That time came sooner than they were expecting. But Hamilton is a very polished wide receiver. He's. His routes are incredible.
Jason Moore
Matt Harmon, polished like A gem.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah, a gem.
Jason Moore
A gym.
Cortland Sutton
Like a gym that's been working out at the gym. Matt Harmon, who does reception perception for the ultimate draft, Kit Hamilton was one of his shining stars. One of those middle round guys that could turn into something. So I'm excited to see what Hamilton can do now that the opportunity is fully his.
Jason Moore
Okay.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, he is. I mean, the thing is, is we say, oh, he's probably not going to do anything. Someone has to. There's just no. This is an NFL team that has lost, you know, over a quarter of its target.
Cortland Sutton
Sutton's volume is going to go up.
Andy Holloway
Someone's going to replace some of the volume. Daeshun has to chime in there. What's crazy, if you look at his snap percentages, you know, most of the year he's been under 25%. Snaps two weeks ago got up to 50%. Last week, Emmanuel Sanders, obviously not injured yet, was up to 79%. So Daeshun Hamilton was getting more trust. It didn't turn into anything yet, but at least the coaching staff was saying he should be on the field. Now he has to be.
Jason Moore
For fantasy owners that are concerned with this season, specifically Cortland Sutton is the beneficiary when it comes to target consistency, reception consistency. He'd been kind of a three catch guy. I put him more in the four, five catch baseline, which for a guy with his size, red zone prowess, big playability, that really raises his, you know, flex worthy type of consideration to me. I would be agreed. I'd feel very confident starting him. I don't, you know, Philip Lindsay is going to get a ton of work in this offense. Case Keenum is not the engine that's moving this offense. It's the defense plus the running game right now. Check us out on the web. The fantasy footballers.com Twitter is @the FFballers. If you want to follow Jason, do so @JasonFFL. Mike is @FF hitman. I'm @ Andy Holloway. We're on YouTube. And Jason, you move your hands in emotion of.
Andy Holloway
I was greeting the YouTubers.
Cortland Sutton
You're Whitney?
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Jason Moore
Oh, you're Jason Whitten. Is that the Ted Thompson or the Jason Whitten?
Cortland Sutton
Oh, is the clap. If Jason Witten were to clap, it.
Jason Moore
Would look like a Ted Thompson.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Did we get Tony Romo as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals?
Cortland Sutton
Working on it.
Jason Moore
I'm in it.
Andy Holloway
I honest to goodness, this is not a joke. I heard a rumor, I saw it on Twitter somewhere that the Arizona Cardinals were looking at Tony Romo. I saw on Twitter a rumor that the Arizona Cardinals were looking at Tony Romo.
Jason Moore
Where did you.
Andy Holloway
I don't remember.
Jason Moore
Was it a verified account?
Andy Holloway
Yes, it was a verified account. So, you know, it's trustworthy.
Jason Moore
Good.
Cortland Sutton
The idea of us creating our own rumors on Twitter and then coming on our show and saying there's a rumor going around.
Jason Moore
It's been reported Andy Holloway on Twitter at Andy Holloway. Tony Romo may be the next head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.
Cortland Sutton
What else could we do?
Jason Moore
Well, we'll learn over time just what power we have or don't have.
Andy Holloway
I believe Mike calls this fart sniffing. Yes.
Jason Moore
The boom boom. Coach of the week, Tony Romo. Let me just say one thing real quick. Arizona. Being an Arizona sports fan right now is real, real bad.
Cortland Sutton
People don't care about it.
Jason Moore
I know they don't. I know they don't. But there were some as Paul Goldschmidt traded from the Arizona Diamondbacks yesterday for who? Yeah, Paul Goldschmidt. The Cardinal Suns and Diamondbacks are now a trifecta of dumpster fire levels. So I'm just saying it's all fantasy all the time. We have, we have conjured up local sports fandom to be so poor in Arizona that it's just fantasy football. That's all we can live for.
Andy Holloway
It's all we can focus on now.
Jason Moore
We don't have a choice. Fatherhood, fantasy football. That's, you know, some quick news before I get into the forecast. Marquis Goodwin returned to practice on Wednesday. Jason, how much does this temper Dante Pettis? Hope for you?
Andy Holloway
It does. It tempers it quite a bit because the only times we've really seen Pettis hit is when Goodwin has been out of the way. I'm happy he's back. I'm happy he's over his personal issue. As a Pettis owner who was literally, you know, I have him in my starting lineup, I was a little disappointed.
Jason Moore
You don't.
Cortland Sutton
You don't think that it's possible Goodwin, with his ability and using his role of spreading the field, opening things up, that one possibly helped?
Andy Holloway
No, 100%. That's possible.
Cortland Sutton
Okay.
Andy Holloway
I mean, if Pettis, I mean, takes over, say, the garcon role and Goodwin.
Cortland Sutton
Which I think has.
Andy Holloway
Absolutely. Then he can succeed. He's got the talent to do so. But the issue is we haven't seen that yet. And so I don't want to go into the fantasy playoff weeks. These are the weeks where he's also.
Jason Moore
Got a Mullins dependency fallacy.
Andy Holloway
These are the weeks now where we shift from really going absolute bottom of the barrel when it comes to streamers and we. You're talking to playoff teams in the playoffs with good rosters needing to start against great teams.
Jason Moore
Sutton or Pettis? You're Sutton. Yeah. Mitch Trubisky practicing in full for Sunday night against the Rams. So that's good news for the. For the offense.
Cortland Sutton
Yes, it is.
Jason Moore
Melvin Gordon remained sideline at Wednesday's practice. I don't think any of us expect Melvin Gordon to play this week against Cincinnati. I'm pretty sure that they can beat Cincinnati.
Cortland Sutton
It's super unfortunate because Melvin Gordon owners. If Melvin Gordon against the Bengals probably put up 250.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Not impossible. Look at what Philip Lindsay did last week. Carry on. Johnson remain sideline at Wednesday's practice. He won't be back this week either. We'll get a full kind of inventory of the injuries tomorrow on in and out the Friday show, as we always do, the last kind of update before the live stream, which, by the way, the live stream on Sunday.
Cortland Sutton
Oh, yes.
Jason Moore
I'm taking it over. Yeah, Mike's gonna be gone that day. I'm gonna step in. I kind of joked like, there was a couple a couple nights ago, Mike thought maybe he was getting whatever Jason had, right?
Cortland Sutton
Yes.
Jason Moore
And we already had had Jay Grizz on the show, and I was starting to visualize having to come in here and have me and two bears, which is really the kind of like, professional, legitimate, you know, thing I want on my resume. My resume, because I want my grandparents and my family to be like, what'd you do today for work? And I said, well, I had a hard day's work. It was me and two cardboard bears on a set talking fantasy football. But I started to, you know, I started to think a little bit about, you know, how do I, one man show this? I'll probably be throwing it to Brooks and I'll get one word answers. Oh, yeah, I'll be hitting the crickets drops, right, Brooks? Yep. Yeah. And so this is my. Thankfully, that didn't happen in Jason's back, but, you know, this will be. This will be some time. Me and the foot clan just hanging out on Sunday morning for Sunday live. And we'll have more injury updates then as well. You guys ready for the forecast?
Cortland Sutton
Yes, sir.
Andy Holloway
Fantasy forecast.
Jason Moore
All right, let's go ahead and get into it. The three nine jets take on the four and eight Bills. Cold weather time, by the way. So we got to monitor that a little bit more. Every week we have a weather article that Shows up On the fantasy footballers.com summarizes what's going on that morning. But, you know, man, I saw the.
Cortland Sutton
Over under and I thought, holy crap, that's freezing. Because the over under is 38 and a half.
Andy Holloway
That'd be very.
Cortland Sutton
That wasn't the weather report.
Jason Moore
No, the weather report is even worse. What's the weather report there?
Cortland Sutton
Are you kidding me? 26? No, that can't be real. I counted like six games that are.
Andy Holloway
Within the 30s and that can't be real. Yeah.
Cortland Sutton
Why do people live there? Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry for your. Your time right now. Buffalo. That's incredible.
Andy Holloway
And I have verified that is the projected weather.
Jason Moore
20, 26 degrees.
Andy Holloway
26 degrees.
Jason Moore
So you've got a game with the three and nine jets and the four and eight bills. Divisional matchup. Bills are three and a half point home favorites in a game with a 38 and a half point over under. And we expect Sam Darnold to return to action. Josh Allen, he's been a fantasy force in the past couple of weeks at the quarterback position for Buffalo. You know, he's the. He's the most interesting discussion in this matchup for me, because Josh Allen, we were on. We had the foot cast yesterday for everybody over at Join the Foot supporting the show, and we were asked a lot of, you know, different questions about Josh Allen. And like, in a couple of weeks, you know, are you going to be wanting to start Josh Allen over? You know, maybe you think Jameis Winston's a good playoff matchup, but Winston goes to Baltimore in week 15. Josh Allen is going to be a real option. He's going to legitimize himself as a real option if this and next week have the kind of rushing yardage that he's put up recently.
Cortland Sutton
This is the super scary one, though, because it seems like it should be better. It's been two games for Josh Allen. Maybe he's been a dominant fantasy force. But now it's your playoffs. If you lose, you're out. Are you willing to put your faith in Josh Allen? I mean, everything points to him having a literal, literal top five upside this week at home cold against the Jets. I mean, it's all there. But are you guys actually willing to trust Josh Allen?
Andy Holloway
Think it. It's always going to come down to what your other options are.
Cortland Sutton
I mean, Josh Allen or Mitch Trubisky coming off of his injury. Mitch Trubisky, Josh Allen or Russell Wilson against the Vikings? Okay, yeah.
Andy Holloway
I mean, if I've got Other more established guys like that, a Jason Special.
Cortland Sutton
Josh Allen or Carson Wentz versus the Dallas Cowboys.
Andy Holloway
Don't do that to me.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah, we got to do that. Tough questions.
Andy Holloway
Oh, don't do Andy.
Jason Moore
What? I would play Carson Wentz.
Andy Holloway
Okay, then I would.
Jason Moore
Here's the thing.
Andy Holloway
He's actually lower in my rankings. I do have Josh Allen ahead of Carson Wentz in my rankings.
Jason Moore
How do you, you know, how do you balance at this point in the season, though? You know, Brooks brought it up, I think, yesterday. Can you live with losing with a big name on the bench?
Cortland Sutton
Yep.
Jason Moore
That's versus. Can you overcome the name? Like I said yesterday, I would start Jalen Samuels, running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as a tight end over Rob Gronkowski this week. That would be my choice. I'm not going to get lost in Rob Gronkowski's illustrious name and lights. I would start Jalen Samuel. But can you lose? Can you handle mentally preparing and losing with big names on the bench? I think you have to be willing to make that decision. And sometimes it's going to come down to your opponent. How good are you? How good of a team are you playing in the fantasy playoffs where you need upside? Yeah, that's the question.
Cortland Sutton
Sure. And hopefully, hopefully we can get this field covered in Snow for Shady McCoy. Oh, yeah, because he's the king of the snow. But even if it doesn't, this is still a very strong matchup for LaShawn McCoy. What's your interest in Zay Jones?
Jason Moore
They.
Cortland Sutton
They have jettisoned all the, let's say, what they perceived as the dead weight at the wide receiver position from Buffalo, Zay Jones, he had a pretty solid game, and the jets are a fantastic matchup for wide receivers. It's not in the playoffs.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, not in the playoffs.
Cortland Sutton
The timing of this could not be worse. Buffalo. You should have done this three weeks ago.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And with the weather, I mean, this is a shady bowl. It's the first thing that came to my mind as well. This is a team that wants to run, run, run, run, run. With Josh Allen, with LaShawn McCoy two.
Jason Moore
Weeks ago as Robert Foster. Last week it was a Jones. They're not enough targets to go around to guarantee production. He has been targeted on more than 25% of the total targets. But still, that's not a.
Andy Holloway
That means he's got, like four targets. Right.
Jason Moore
It's not a big pot. I'm with Jason on that, over, under and everything, like in a deeper league. And if you've lost Marvin Jones and Sammy Watkins and desean Jackson.
Cortland Sutton
Maybe now on the other side of the ball, Crowell should see volume. Had a good game against Tennessee. 21 carries. Yeah. For 98 yards. Unfortunately, he did pop up on the injury report already. Let's, let's monitor his health.
Jason Moore
Nobody ever starts him with a smile on their face.
Andy Holloway
Oh, no.
Jason Moore
It's like taking your, you know, taking a bad tasting vitamin or something like you just, you've got to take it. The doctor said so. But you're not really thrilled.
Andy Holloway
Sure.
Jason Moore
You'd be like, can I, can I take Anything else? The 6 and 6 Panthers take on the 471 Browns. The Browns are 1 1/2 point home underdogs. The Panthers are in a bit of a tailspin. It's a 47 point over under Cam Newton. Update on him, his shoulder. He was limited at Wednesday's practice. This has happened from time to time this year. He was pulled for the final play of the game last week in favor of their backup to throw the Hail Mary.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah, yeah.
Andy Holloway
You could see it.
Cortland Sutton
Yes. If you watch the game, Cam Newton was struggling. There was, the velocity was not there.
Andy Holloway
Well, there were two Hail Marys at the end of the game. They took two shots. The first one was with Cam Newton and he came up about 10 yards short of the end zone. So they pulled him and put the backup in. Something is legitimately wrong with his shoulder that hurts. The upside of especially the deep, you know, the Curtis Samuel, he could take a screen to the house. That's great but you know it's going to be hard to have him or if Torrey Smith gets back, anybody to break loose deep with, you know, a shoulder injury.
Jason Moore
So you have concern. You know, we've talked about his playoff matchups all year. He didn't rule out another off season shoulder surgery. But how much booty scooting are we getting from if he's not going to throw?
Cortland Sutton
What's the impact of the scooting of the boot scooch?
Andy Holloway
I don't know.
Cortland Sutton
Oh, there it is.
Jason Moore
Oh.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Do you think there's any worry with the shoulder injury running the ball and.
Cortland Sutton
I have concerns, some concerns about it. It's an elevated risk, but I would still play Cam Newton as a top 10 option.
Jason Moore
I would be happier if they were more competitive in the playoff race.
Andy Holloway
Sure.
Jason Moore
That would give me more confidence in what you're going to get. I mean Christian McCaffrey, he's an auto start. If you're picking a wide receiver from Carolina, Funches Moore, Samuel, still DJ Moore for me DJ Moore, Ian Thomas. People want to know because you have your top four or five tight ends and then you have like a whole police lineup of dumpster fires at that point. Ian Thomas, I mean, do you take a chance? Yesterday I compared him to Matt Lacoste. I think it's troubling.
Cortland Sutton
Oh, it's certainly troubling. But if you're going for the gusto of you have no strong options. He is in that.
Jason Moore
He is an option.
Cortland Sutton
He is in that tier. Now, granted, that tier is about 20 players, but 5 for 46. Greg Olson on IR has some more actual experience under his belt. I mean, he's. He's a very young player and it takes some time to acclimate to the tight end position.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I mean, that's a no from Jason. As a no from me. He's my tight end. 21. Could he be the guy that catches a touchdown? Sure, but so could Chris Herndon.
Cortland Sutton
Browns 28th against the position in the past six weeks.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I mean, I would rather play Jonu Smith.
Cortland Sutton
All right.
Jason Moore
Yeah, me too.
Andy Holloway
Even against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Similar kind of situation where they're. They both are coming in for the incumbent starter who was injured. It clearly took Jonah a little bit of time to acclimate to the position. But, I mean, and I, And I don't. Don't hear what I'm not saying. I don't want to start Jonu Smith, but I would rather start him than Ian Thomas.
Cortland Sutton
I think Baker is a. Is a fine play this week.
Jason Moore
I like Jonah this week.
Andy Holloway
Do you really do?
Jason Moore
Yeah. I think Corey Davis is getting the shutdown treatment.
Andy Holloway
Well, maybe. Well, hey, starts of the week today. Maybe we'll hear about him later.
Cortland Sutton
Maybe Baker is.
Jason Moore
I think he bounces bad as Kelsey, though. Is my start of the week.
Cortland Sutton
Oh, I think that's more special. Baker's a strong play. Nick Chubb. The matchup stays strong.
Jason Moore
You think Baker is a strong play?
Cortland Sutton
I do.
Jason Moore
On the. On the.
Cortland Sutton
I do. I think he bounces back. The Carolina Panthers last six weeks. 30th against quarterbacks, 30th against wide receivers. So I'm good starting Baker and Jarvis and I'll Even in deep leagues. I think Antonio Calloway is okay.
Jason Moore
David and Joki is a little banged up. Is he on the radar? He's very difficult to.
Cortland Sutton
He's 100% on the radar, but it's just. He gives you. He can be shut out.
Andy Holloway
He.
Cortland Sutton
He can give you eight yards like he did last week. He is not. He has not sustained that level of consistency that he saw in the middle of the season. But he's still a top. He's a tight end one. He's him over the guys we've been talking about 100%.
Andy Holloway
I would rather play David and Joku than Thomas.
Jason Moore
I feel like there's tight ends now. Like, so there's the few at the top and all the rest are like a used car on a car lot. And then a different. Every single time we have the show, a different salesman comes out and describes some other spin on this car and why you should buy it.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
But there's never enough line items there.
Cortland Sutton
All right. A car from Matilda. Yeah, I like it. Yeah. Deep roll doll reference.
Andy Holloway
Oh, yeah, deep roll doll. Roll that odometer back.
Jason Moore
Wow. Goodness gracious. I remember that. That's why I'm.
Cortland Sutton
Because it's awesome. It's a great story.
Jason Moore
All right, let's thank Pristine Auction for sponsoring today's show. Great friends of the show, Jason's wide receiver start of the week. I'm spoiling it. Chris Godwin, signed Buccaneers Blaze alternate mini helmet just sold yesterday.
Cortland Sutton
I thought you were going to say a blazer. No, that would be cool too.
Jason Moore
They might be on it. Smoking jackets, $55.28. Yeah, that would be 55 bucks. Look. Hundreds of daily authentic autograph memorabilia. Different auctions every single day. Cortland Sutton
They are called just the cheese. It is possibly the best, the best snack of all time. Low carb, high protein. Tastes exactly like your favorite cheese. But it comes with a crunch.
Jason Moore
We look, we've had it around the office for months.
Cortland Sutton
We our office has it and then we don't because the box goes. Because it's delicious.
Andy Holloway
When it arrives, it's Christmas.
Cortland Sutton
We all love it. Eight grams of protein, less than one gram of carbs in two bars. So it's perfect for low carb, gluten free.
Jason Moore
It's just the cheese, man.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah, it's exactly. It's just the cheese. It's freaking delicious. I love it. I'm so happy to have them as a sponsor of this show and Right now, Footland. If you want in on this, head over to Amazon. Jason Moore
What was that report you just sent over, Jason?
Andy Holloway
Oh, I. Yeah, just Ian Rapport. From the highs of just the cheese to the lows.
Cortland Sutton
Why you gotta bring me down, man?
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Ian Rapport was reporting that Alex Smith is battling an infection related to his surgery. It's premature to know what it means, but he's. He's fighting for his playing future. So our thoughts and prayers and man, that is devastating. That is. That's very, very bad news.
Jason Moore
The four and eight Falcons take on the four seven and one packers at Lambeau. The packers are five and a half point favorites. It's a 49 and a half point over under Mike McCarthy, no longer the head coach of the Green Bay Packers. Joe Philbin, the interim head coach before they undoubtedly hire a new name heading into 2019. So let's talk about. Look, these are two teams that I don't think anybody expected to be 4, 8 and 1 and 4 and 8 at this point in the season. The offense for Atlanta has been struggling to stay consistent. The running game has been not reliable for fantasy owners in any way, shape or form. Julio Jones is Julio Jones. But even last week Ryan and Jones struggled. Now they have to go on the road. I'm assuming this is going to be a frigid game at Lambeau.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah, it's even worse.
Andy Holloway
20 degrees. Yeah, very chilly. And if you haven't seen the splits of Matt Ryan indoors and outdoors, it has not been good for Matt Ryan outdoors so far this season.
Jason Moore
Do you have those splits?
Andy Holloway
I can look them up.
Jason Moore
I was just curious. But look, injuries on defense for Atlanta, sputtering offense. Both of these are supposed to be playoff teams. The over under in this game is 50 points though. So they're, you know, I don't like Austin Hooper. I know he had a pretty good week. He's another of those guys in the category of David Njoku. But you know, you're always starting Julio Jones. What about Matt Ryan, Mike? I mean, Matt ryan, I'm actually good 131 passing yards last week.
Cortland Sutton
I.
Jason Moore
The temperature, you're the highest of this trifecta.
Cortland Sutton
The temperature of the game certainly is causing some red flags for me, but I believe in this game, I think that the packers can bounce back. This is, this is exactly what that offense needs. Rogers, Jones, Adams are all incredible stars this week and I do believe that the Falcons can keep up with Green Bay this week.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Do you worry at all about the Julio Jones added to the injury report?
Cortland Sutton
Not yet. Not yet.
Andy Holloway
I mean, today's practice, we'll know more in a little bit. So. Pff. Steve had tweeted out the Pro Football Focus grades indoors and outdoors. He's graded at 89.7, which is sixth on a full season pace for indoors and 31st outdoors. On that rating, throwing seven touchdowns and two interceptions outdoors, 18 touchdowns, three interceptions indoors. But you know that that's just one metric in a whole field of what were the matchups, who was healthy, who was he going against? So you know this, this appears to be a matchup in a high over under game, even in, even in cold weather. That should be fruitful for fantasy. And I know that I've seen some people that I respect a lot who are quite down on Aaron Rodgers this week, rankings wise, and I'm wrestling with that. I disagree to the point where I thought about making Aaron Rodgers my start of the week, which would have made you guys laugh. To make Aaron Rodgers the start of the week.
Cortland Sutton
No, not at all. He's not this week.
Jason Moore
He's my start of the week.
Andy Holloway
Oh, is he really?
Jason Moore
Yeah, he's my start of the week.
Andy Holloway
Oh, funny. I did not know that he is.
Cortland Sutton
And the thing is people are down on him.
Andy Holloway
He has, he has no excuses. His head coach was fired. All the, all the. After every bad performance over the last four or five weeks, it's been, if you're an Aaron Rodgers believer, it's been, oh, they got to get rid of the head coach. It's the scheme. It's all that. What happens if he comes out and stinks this week? It's all going to fall on Aaron Rodgers. He ain't going to let that happen. That's how I view it.
Jason Moore
I think Aaron Rodgers has a great game. I think this is a. There has been a weight on the team and they can breathe a little bit at this point in time. And you know, Rodgers has Randall Cobback. He has a running game in Aaron Jones. Aaron Jones has scored in four consecutive games.
Cortland Sutton
I wanted to ask about Aaron Jones, though. I mean, perhaps this was part of the. We got to get McCarthy on last week McCarthy completely reverted. You saw the snaps go to 50, 50 with Aaron Jones and Jamal Williams sputtering desperation.
Jason Moore
All right, that's my interpretation of the. Aaron Jones still scored. The Cardinals defense was doing some different stuff against the run in the second half of the game. To me, I still have great confidence in Aaron Jones, but there's a variable there with a new head coach. But look, Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones, devonte Adams, nobody. I don't think you should be sitting these guys, those questioning the Aaron Rodgers situation. That's why I made him my start of the week. I'll probably never have the opportunity to do it again.
Cortland Sutton
Probably not.
Jason Moore
But he's the quarterback 10 on the season and people are freaking out about him. He's at home in this game. I think the weight is off. I think he has a top five week. I really do.
Cortland Sutton
All right. On the. On the Atlanta side, let's just quickly talk about the running backs table. Tevin Coleman, incredibly disappointing on the season. Are you going to play him against the Green Bay Packers? I guess I'll give you some names. How about we do that game? Tevin Coleman against the packers or Shady McCoy against the new York.
Andy Holloway
Oh, shady.
Cortland Sutton
All right.
Andy Holloway
I actually really like Shady this week.
Cortland Sutton
Tevin Coleman or. Let's go. Adrian Peterson. Adrian Peterson against the giants. 100% with even with Mark Sanchez.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Cortland Sutton
Okay.
Jason Moore
We're going to talk about him later.
Cortland Sutton
Wow.
Andy Holloway
Really?
Jason Moore
Okay.
Cortland Sutton
And I'll give you one last one. Tevin Coleman or Marlon Mack against the Houston Texans.
Andy Holloway
I was not here for the pump the brakes episode, but he was my pump the brakes and Marlon Mack is my answer ahead of Tevin Coleman. Wow. Okay. I guess Tevin Coleman should be my pump the brakes.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Tevin Coleman's season is been bad, bad, bad. Great opportunity, poor results.
Cortland Sutton
Yes.
Jason Moore
The 6 and 6 Colts led by Marla Mack and they head to Houston to take on the nine and three Texans. This game is a 49 and a half point over under Texas, four and a half point favorites. And look, it's. It's a defense in Houston that ranks ninth against the fantasy quarterback, 10th against the fantasy running back, seventh against the fantasy wide receiver. Over the past six weeks, they've still been solid. And Andrew Luck is coming off a game where we expected him to be able to overcome the Jacksonville defense. They didn't score. Eric Ebron had 16 targets. Ty Hilton was shut down. The running game didn't get anything going. You know, storylines from this game they played in Week 4. Houston won 37 to 34 in overtime, it was a high scoring affair. We've got a 50 point over under. Everything says that, look, we should get some action in this game.
Cortland Sutton
And you will.
Jason Moore
Okay, that was the question. Are you expecting it? And then what decisions are you making here? Yes.
Cortland Sutton
For Andrew Luck. I mean, we're all just spoiling our starts. The week I'm taking this chance to be Andrew Luck is actually my start of the week at the quarterback position because you can look at the adjusted defense for Houston. But I want to remind people who Houston has played the last six weeks. They did shut down Baker Mayfield, who was hot but still rookie. Before that it was Tennessee, Washington, Denver, Miami, Jacksonville, Buffalo. Have I listed any quarterbacks that you are scared of, Blake? The answer is no. So I'm not letting that impact my decision to come. That combined with the panic of Andrew Luck's poor performance last week. I would still play Andrew Luck and Ty Hilton with. With a. With a good level of confidence.
Jason Moore
Ty Hilton's averaging 11 targets a game over the last three weeks. I think you're right about him and Ebron.
Andy Holloway
Ebron is a. Yeah, I was going to say, here's.
Cortland Sutton
You don't even need to talk about it.
Jason Moore
16 targets is incredible for a tight end.
Andy Holloway
What's. What's really scary is you just named off the opponents, right? They all stink. They've shut them down. Their defense has been unbelievable over the last six weeks. And over the last six weeks, even they're the 27th ranked against the tight end. Watch out for Ebron.
Cortland Sutton
Great play.
Jason Moore
On the other side of the ball to Sean Watson at home. Watson, in the first matchup, 375 and 2, has had 41 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground. Jason, you're the highest on him this week. You got him at QB7. He hasn't thrown. Yeah, he has not thrown no 240 yards since for seven straight weeks. But Indianapolis is allowing quarterbacks to complete. Get this third, 72% of their passes.
Andy Holloway
That's a good number.
Jason Moore
That is a great number.
Andy Holloway
Or a bad number, depending on your perspective.
Jason Moore
What's going on with Lamar Miller? Did he.
Cortland Sutton
I don't know.
Jason Moore
The Space Juice from Space Jam. What do they call it? The. You remember that?
Cortland Sutton
There was juice in space.
Jason Moore
There was the. In space jam. Bill Murt, you remember this? Yeah, I can't think of what it's called.
Cortland Sutton
Did they give him like a placebo?
Jason Moore
It was a placebo. Yeah, it was like. But he called it like injected into.
Cortland Sutton
I thought you were gonna go with like gummy berry Juice I think he.
Jason Moore
Called it like space juice and it was in a water bottle but it was just wink wink water. But it got him going like Lamar Miller has found something recently. Since week seven he leads the league in rushing yards. He found heart what 400 yard games now he's our RB10 this week guys.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah and I'm, I'm good with it. Even with Deontay Foreman coming back. I'm not letting that scare me. The dude was just activated off of coming off of his Achilles injury. Its Foreman will not yet yet take away from Lamar Miller.
Jason Moore
No he won't. And we're going to talk about a lot of those guys it sounds like later in the show. So the 7 and 5 Ravens take on the 102 Chiefs at Arrowhead in Kansas City. The 6 a 6 1/2 point line Chiefs are favored. The game is a 53 point over under and Lamar Jackson will be back behind center for the Baltimore Ravens. I've seen hesitation in the fantasy world about Lamar Jackson this week. Really despite the fact that the matchup, you know like the metrics Chiefs defense, they give up a lot of fantasy points. Obviously they score a lot. You know the other it becomes a shootout situation. I haven't seen as much excitement over Lamar Jackson as I would expect. Speak to me about what you think and expect from Lamar Jackson right now. He's our quarterback 11 this week.
Cortland Sutton
Right. He's top 12 for me.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I think the fear is because this is fantasy playoffs. You know we talked about this a little bit with Josh Allen, right. Is like you're going as a rookie into Arrowhead Stadium allowed place difficult to play. If it was at home I'm sure people would be a little bit different on it. People are hesitant to play him I think because of his rushing baseline and how much they're going to have to score. You shouldn't be worried. I mean I think he is a safe play with a high ceiling. Lamar Jackson was in consideration for my starts of the week but I'll be honest, the reason I didn't pick him was because of the risk that is involved with the rookie going to Arrowhead. So you know it's. I understand the fears but I don't see barring him getting pulled for horrific play and maybe Joe Flacco is active as a backup. I'm just saying other than that I don't think he can how he doesn't have enough fantasy points at the end of the game.
Cortland Sutton
The dude in three starts is averaging 88 rushing yards a game than 71 rushing yards. He can beat the Chiefs with that. And the Chiefs are very susceptible to the pass as well. I think Lamar Jackson is still in a good spot for fantasy.
Jason Moore
You like him more than Josh Allen?
Cortland Sutton
Yes, I do.
Andy Holloway
I would play Lamar Jackson over Josh Allen, over Mitchell Trubisky that we've talked about. Over Matt Ryan.
Cortland Sutton
I was just going to say Matt Ryan. I have Matt Ryan one spot behind.
Jason Moore
Lamar Jackson on the other side. Well, let's talk about this for a second. Lamar Jackson, though, when he's the quarterback, 73% of his fantasy points have come from rushing. So he's not throwing the ball well.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah, no, I'm not playing any wide receivers.
Jason Moore
Well, that's. That's the follow up. Is there anybody that you would buy into?
Cortland Sutton
No. No pass catchers. Now, the Gus bus.
Jason Moore
Listen to this.
Cortland Sutton
He's got a low, low tire pressure warning.
Jason Moore
Oh, okay.
Cortland Sutton
On the Gus bus.
Jason Moore
I get it.
Cortland Sutton
Because he's got a little bit of an ankle and bus joke. It was.
Andy Holloway
The thing is, is this is the same. That was a great joke.
Jason Moore
It was fantastic. You're good.
Cortland Sutton
But he expects to play well.
Jason Moore
It was a bus joke, though.
Andy Holloway
This is the same injury that he was listening to. What's wrong with a bus joke? The ankle injury going into last week where he got over 20 carries, so it's irrelevant to me.
Jason Moore
Well, he limped off the field last week a couple times, and yes, he got 20 carries, but they'll tape it.
Andy Holloway
Up and pat him on the butt and say, get back out.
Jason Moore
They have options, though.
Cortland Sutton
Patch it, Jason, Son. Okay, the bus jokes must continue.
Jason Moore
They'll patch. Patch the.
Cortland Sutton
The tire.
Jason Moore
Tire, yeah. So what they do on the. On the old buses, they patch.
Cortland Sutton
They put a little band aid on it.
Jason Moore
They can't afford. They don't replace them. They patch them. Is that the. You got to get where you're going, man. You need to up it.
Andy Holloway
Just fill them up. Get them back out there.
Jason Moore
Hmm. You guys know a lot more about buses than I do.
Cortland Sutton
Get the air compressor.
Jason Moore
Which is surprising because the OG Gus Bradley, I was pretty much next.
Cortland Sutton
Oh, you were?
Jason Moore
All those tires fell off. Did you guys know LaMar Jackson had.
Andy Holloway
Three fumbles last week?
Cortland Sutton
Don't care.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I mean, honestly, he turns the ball over several times a game. If he just didn't do that, you'd have so many more fantasy.
Jason Moore
It does make a difference. And last three games with Lamar Jackson, total, the wide receivers for Baltimore in three games, 18 receptions for 200 yards and a touchdown.
Cortland Sutton
Oh, that's bad.
Jason Moore
All right. Three and oh, let me just throw this out there. I like Mark Andrews. I like Mark.
Cortland Sutton
Really.
Jason Moore
I love Mark.
Cortland Sutton
Just. You're saying just the player, not necessarily for fantasy this week. I want to make sure I straight.
Jason Moore
Up mean just the player.
Andy Holloway
Okay.
Jason Moore
But I feel like so Dynasty, I would probably play Mark Andrews over Ian Thomas.
Cortland Sutton
Okay.
Jason Moore
So if that helps anybody in the earth. Well, because for dynasty purposes, I think he's a good player. I think the cream rises to the top and he's. He's just good.
Andy Holloway
But you let me put it this way. Head to head, Mark Andrews versus Hayden Hurst. The first round pick, rookie on the same team going against him. You would rather have Mark Andrews in Dynasty? Yeah, sure. Okay.
Jason Moore
And in like starting them? Yeah, sure.
Cortland Sutton
Hayden Hurst has been doing. I know he got off to the slow start.
Jason Moore
More like Hayden Hearst. Am I right?
Andy Holloway
Oh, yeah. Get bodied, Hayden bodied in the hearse.
Cortland Sutton
The Chiefs running backs real quick.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
We got to talk about them. And Tyree Kill who? You know, something's got to give. Baltimore hasn't allowed 100 yard wide receiver this season. Does Tyree Kill get back on? Does. Does he break that?
Cortland Sutton
I think he can because he's at.
Jason Moore
Home and every play he does is about 100 yards.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Cortland Sutton
You're. You're not benching Tyree Kill. You're not. It sucks. The timing of the matchup is very unfortunate. But you're still playing Patrick Mahomes and you're still playing Tyree Kill.
Jason Moore
Spencer Ware, thank goodness they're at home.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Cortland Sutton
Spencer Ware was fine for. Fine for fantasy but he didn't look like Spencer where the last time we saw him when he was the featured back for Kansas City. They went out, they brought the Charizard back. Charkandrick West, Damian Williams. The threat of this turning into the threat from head coach and you read threat is a strong word.
Jason Moore
But yeah, I've got real scared.
Cortland Sutton
You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to make this a time three person timeshare. But he said that that's. That's in the cars. That's what he's hoping to do. So what is your level of confidence in Spencer?
Andy Holloway
Where.
Jason Moore
Because I can't imagine it's where in others. That's the way the times here is going to work.
Cortland Sutton
Right.
Jason Moore
It's where and then the rest.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah, but are you going to play where against Baltimore?
Andy Holloway
Yes, I'm going to play where against Baltimore. In most situations you'd have to end granted this playoff. So people in the playoffs, maybe they've got a lot of great options, but yeah, Spencer Ware.
Jason Moore
I'm playing him Over Gus Bus on the other side.
Andy Holloway
Exactly. Over Gus Edwards on the other side.
Jason Moore
Dalvin Cook.
Cortland Sutton
Over.
Andy Holloway
Dalvin Cook right now. Over.
Cortland Sutton
No, yeah.
Andy Holloway
I mean look, you brought up Tyree Kill. Oh, it's good he's at home. For some weird reason I don't, I don't understand it, I don't get it, but it's pretty much been forever. Tyree Kill is so much better on the road than at home. Generally speaking for fantasy we're talking to the tune of PPR points this year. 24 and a half versus 16. I think at home is where they're going to run the ball more and it's not a great matchup but I do think Spencer Ware is the firm leader. I'm not worried about the timeshare and they're going to put up points. So yeah, I like Spencer Ware going forward. I'm not scared off of his lack of blow up performance in his first week in the role.
Jason Moore
All right, one more matchup then starts of the week. The nine and three patriots take on the six and six dolphins in Miami. The dolphins are seven and a half point home underdogs and the game is a 47 and a half point over under Jason. I don't know if you listened to the show yesterday. I did but I was kind of maybe throwing some doubt into the universe about reliability on the New England side of the football because there's so many moving parts, there's so many pieces, there's so many game plans and then you take, you take all that and you mix in a world renowned talent like James Devlin. Oh, the devil, the devil himself.
Cortland Sutton
And it's tough dual to fit in with your, your feelings on the matchup. The, the storylines for say the big networks out there is the entire focus is New England is one in four in their last five games at Miami.
Jason Moore
Yeah, look, it's a divisional game.
Cortland Sutton
That's weird.
Jason Moore
It is weird, but that's weird. That speaks perfectly to what happens in these divisional matchups from time to time. Like I brought it up before, I remember when Indianapolis was a 12 and 4 perennial powerhouse and Jacksonville was a basement dwelling team. Peyton Manning leading the way into Jacksonville. Those games would end up 31, 28, 34, 32.
Cortland Sutton
I also think it's possible that Bill Belichick throws those games.
Jason Moore
Throws.
Cortland Sutton
He goes to my. So that Adam Gay stays employed. Oh, by Miami.
Jason Moore
A master plan. It's worked on that division for years. But even Rex Ryan, Buffalo, they'd always find a way to play against them. Yeah, and that's not to say, look, if you, if you have them, you probably got to start him. It's just a matter of if you take James White, you add Sony Michelle, you add Rex Burkett. And now you have to add in a James Devlin, who, by the way, was very successful on his goal line carries. He scored twice.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, the Patriots were not disappointed.
Jason Moore
No, they don't care about your team. In fact, he probably trolls your team, so. And Josh Gordon didn't get a target until the second half last week, so there's just a confidence level. Brady, over the last few years, he's killed fantasy owners in the fantasy playoffs. So all that being said, it's more about who you have than it is about this general feeling. So get. Who are you starting Brady over this week?
Cortland Sutton
Ooh, that's a great question. Tom Brady, by the way.
Jason Moore
Or maybe who are you starting over Brady?
Cortland Sutton
Tom Brady has not been a quarterback one the last six weeks.
Jason Moore
That's bad.
Andy Holloway
And Tom Brady is not a quarterback one in my current rankings either.
Cortland Sutton
Nor mine. Right now he's 13. And just behind him is Mitch Trubisky.
Jason Moore
Which you might move ahead of.
Cortland Sutton
I will probably move him ahead of Tom Brady. I think the threshold. Threshold for me will be Russell Wilson against Minnesota and Dak Prescott against Philadelphia. Will. I. Will those guys get bumped over Tom Brady? You'll have to stay tuned for the rankings.
Jason Moore
Here's a player you can probably count on. James White. 102 targets in 12 games. That is the most ever. What? At the running back position. What? RB9 on the season. Double digit touches in nine games this year. That is reliability by definition.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
I mean, he's part of the reason why you can't. Well, your, your issue of how can.
Jason Moore
You trust Gordon Gronk, Edelman, Hogan, all that.
Andy Holloway
And it's both positions. He affects the wide receivers, he affects the running backs, and he is, I think, one of the only trustworthy assets. The problem is he's not the trustworthy asset you want. What you want is Sony to be the trustworthy asset because you want him to have all the. All the cares. You want Gordon to be the trustworthy asset because you want him to have the deep bomb touchdowns instead. The trustworthy asset is the guy dinking and dunking and getting you a few fantasy points here and there. He's much more valuable in PPR leagues. But yeah, I mean, every, every Patriot is startable because every single one of them has a ginormous ceiling.
Jason Moore
But even James Devlin.
Andy Holloway
Okay, not every. No, I'm not playing Devlin.
Jason Moore
But, you know, the Devlin's in the details.
Andy Holloway
The Devlin's in the details. You know, I do agree. I worry big time with Patriots.
Cortland Sutton
You're lucky you have the soundboard.
Jason Moore
I know.
Andy Holloway
Patriots have. Like you said, they've ruined people's fantasy playoffs the last few years. And, you know, it could. It could start this week in what looks like a juicy matchup.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah, I'm just hoping my Gronk boat doesn't turn into a submarine.
Jason Moore
Yeah. Yeah.
Cortland Sutton
Or maybe I do, because then we're all still alive.
Andy Holloway
I was gonna say submarines are safe underwater. That sounds.
Cortland Sutton
So we're on to something.
Jason Moore
Mike's analogy. I feel like Bill Belichick, he. Like, he kind of lives on your fantasy losses. Like that's his. That's what feeds him his soul. On the other side, the Dolphins. This weird six and six Miami Dolphin team. According to Rich Rebar, the Miami is the only team in the league to score more touchdowns from outside the red zone than inside. Take that for what you will. It's strange. They have a strange running back rotation. Kenyan Drake. I love Michael Keith.
Andy Holloway
I'm just saying, Kenya Drake's the reason why they score all their touchdowns from far away.
Jason Moore
Is it?
Andy Holloway
I think so. He's fast. Try to catch him.
Jason Moore
Try to catch him. So you're playing Kenyan Drake this week at home?
Andy Holloway
Sure. Yeah. I like Kenya Drake.
Cortland Sutton
That's exactly my answer for every Kenya Drake question is sure.
Andy Holloway
Well, we've said this from the beginning. Kenya Drake's the type of player you have to. You have to take your lumps to get the greatness. To find the coals that turn into diamonds. You gotta. Yeah. To find, you know, the Superman reference.
Jason Moore
Okay. All right.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. So can you. If you can't start him in a matchup like this, that projects at least for the Patriots to be able to score and put up points.
Cortland Sutton
Patriots shut down running back.
Andy Holloway
So is he a running back when he gets only, like, four carries a game?
Cortland Sutton
Adam Gase, fair point.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. But I'm willing to. His. His ceiling is. I think if you. If you're in the playoffs and you've gotten there on the back of Kenyan Drake, you're not going to pivot.
Cortland Sutton
Now the Footies are coming up. This is a reminder for the Foot Clan after the season is over.
Jason Moore
Illustrious award, the spectacular show.
Cortland Sutton
Everyone waits for it all year long with bated breath. The Footies. There's the nickname of the Year award, which is the highest Honors that you can possibly get for sure from this podcast.
Jason Moore
Yes.
Cortland Sutton
Is Adam Gase, Mr. B Hole, going to be eligible to receive this award?
Andy Holloway
Of course he will. Okay, good. Although I think we're gonna have terrible.
Jason Moore
Name because every time you say it, I grant I just kind of wince.
Andy Holloway
Here's the thing. So we always come out with.
Jason Moore
We always Bl. Sounds worse than you. Not censoring it.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Jason Moore
We're like, whoa, don't. If someone on the street called me that, if someone's like, hey, you, B.
Cortland Sutton
Hole, I would be like, what did.
Jason Moore
You say to me?
Andy Holloway
Words.
Jason Moore
What did you say?
Cortland Sutton
I called you a butthole.
Andy Holloway
Why didn't you know that? Oh, that's nothing.
Jason Moore
Why didn't you call me something else?
Andy Holloway
Nothing to see here. No. My issue is every year we come out with a T shirt. Yeah. Two years ago it was the nicknames, and last year it was drawings of the nicknames. Oh, no, you can't have a.
Jason Moore
You can't sketch that one out.
Andy Holloway
Can't sketch the behold.
Jason Moore
I don't think I want either on a shirt. All right, you know what, Brooks? We'll put it to a vote.
Andy Holloway
You know what? You sound like Brooks a be all.
Jason Moore
Oh, my goodness. We need to get into the starts.
Andy Holloway
Starts of the week.
Jason Moore
He just walked out. Oh, he just walked out. He said, if you had called me an A hole or something, I would have.
Andy Holloway
Fine with that.
Jason Moore
I wouldn't stay. But you called me a B hole starts of the week. I'm going with Aaron Rodgers.
Cortland Sutton
No, I'm with it, man. Let's go.
Jason Moore
This is the Breath of Fresh Air narrative. Look, he's. I think. I don't think he. He's a. He's a prideful man. Not in. Not in some negative respect, but just in the respective. Look, he's a Hall of Fame quarterback known to be one of the best ever. He's come under fire as well, under the Mike McCarthy cloud that has been cast. This is a. This is his week to go out and say, yeah, it was all Mike McCarthy's fault. Whether that's good, bad, or ugly, as a person, he's going to come out and do it. So, Aaron Rodgers against Atlanta at home. Top five performance this week. Start of the week.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I agree with that. We brought it up earlier. My start of the week is Deshaun Watson. Deshaun Watson. Look, I mean, what was it? He's been seven games without throwing for.
Jason Moore
200 more than 240.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, it was something that's not that good. And you Go well, you know.
Cortland Sutton
Yes, Jason, I am asking you, why is he the start of the week?
Andy Holloway
Because in his last six games he's only had one where he wasn't a quarterback one during that same stretch. And now he's got a team on the other side of the ball. You brought up the last six games. He wasn't really pushed. He wasn't, you know, they weren't the toughest matchups. Now he's got the Colts. Now he's got Andrew Luck who might be able to throw and score on this defense and keep up, throw and score and yeah, I think desean Watson is as safe as it comes. If you look at our consistency charts, if you're a foot clan member, you've got access to the consistency charts. Take a look and you'll see that he has three all season, three weeks that are not straight heavy Green, he's been very consistent but his ceiling is the number one quarterback week in, week out. So you've got a consistent floor with his rushing ability with a huge ceiling. That's what I want in the playoffs. DeSean Watson started the week my start.
Cortland Sutton
Of the week at the quarterback position. I said it, it's Andrew Luck. I'm not going to let last week's fiasco scare me off of a guy who from weeks four through 12 was averaging, averaging over 300 yards and three and a half touchdowns per game. The defense is scarier on paper than it is in actuality. I think Andrew Luck can easily bounce back and he, he to me is safe for 250 and two. You're booing me?
Andy Holloway
Yes, I'm booing you.
Cortland Sutton
Why is that?
Andy Holloway
I have to play against Andrew.
Jason Moore
You guys ever wondered what a quarterback like Matthew Stanford could do with a talent like Eric E. Run, if you ever got one?
Andy Holloway
I did wonder that for years.
Jason Moore
Adrian Peterson is my running back. Start of the week. I think this is going to surprise people.
Cortland Sutton
It's surprising me.
Jason Moore
Look, I think he's extremely safe.
Cortland Sutton
I think he's still tired from that 90 yard run.
Jason Moore
He might be, but he's extremely safe this week. Look, people don't realize this Adrian Peterson, He's a top 15 running back on the season. He had a 90 yard touchdown run last game. He's going up against the giants defense, is 28th against the run and he's playing for a team that. Look, Gruden knows what's going on in Washington. He knows this, this ship is on the way down. He cannot rely on Mark Sanchez or Josh Johnson to run his offense. He has to hand the ball off or dump it to Chris Thompson. I think Chris Thompson is your surprise flex of the week. If I need to throw an extra one in there, I think Chris Thompson bounces back from, you know, he's back for the first time last week, was targeted five times. But Adrian Peterson, Chris Thompson, they're going to be your offense in Washington. So it may not sound exciting, but I think you're going to get a very reliable game from Adrian Peterson.
Andy Holloway
I could not, while I was listening, I could not believe because I mean, I watched the games, I saw everything that happened, but I had no idea that Adrian Peterson did not crack 100.
Cortland Sutton
You didn't listen to the show.
Andy Holloway
That's what I was saying when I, when I was listening to the show. When you brought that up, I was loud. I was like, what? He had a 90 yard run and finished with 98 yards? How is that possible? He gave it all. He gave it his all on that play.
Jason Moore
He emptied the health bar.
Andy Holloway
Yes, he did. It was worth it.
Jason Moore
That's fine though.
Andy Holloway
Oh, absolutely. That's all you need. One giant play like that and you're fine. My start of the week, I'm going deeper this week, especially for me. According to these two fools.
Cortland Sutton
Justin Jackson, waiver wise Gordon not available for Jason Melvin.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I was going to go Melvin Gordon, but unfortunately looks like he's not going to play. So I went with his backup, which is Austin Eckler or is it Justin Jackson? Well, Austin Eckler popping up on the injury report with what was it? Is it ankle or something small?
Jason Moore
Yeah, minor injury.
Cortland Sutton
And on top of that, his head coach came out earlier and said that Echler is wearing down because he's, because he's a special teams guy as well. So I'm with you on Justin Jackson.
Andy Holloway
Who Justin Jackson should get double digit carries in this game. He looked like the better runner last week. And this is a matchup against Cincinnati.
Jason Moore
Who put that on the shirt for 2018? Mike, you've got giving players juice all year.
Andy Holloway
He's got a matchup against Cincinnati. That is as good as it gets. I think you're good for a touchdown. I think you're good for close to 100 yards.
Jason Moore
So you'd play him over Eckler. Both of you.
Cortland Sutton
Wow.
Jason Moore
Would you both play him over Eckler? Because that's, that's all I've got all week. And when Mike and I had the waiver show, it was. If I had Eckler, I wasn't going to go out and Spend a priority on Justin Jackson.
Andy Holloway
As of right now, I still have Echler ahead of Justin Jackson in my rankings, but I'll tell you who I would play Justin Jackson over. I would play Justin Jackson over Marlon Mack, over Josh Adams, over Tevin Coleman, over Jordan Howard. But I'm not going to. This is a start of the week for those that, you know, you squeaked in the playoffs or you have Melvin Gordon.
Cortland Sutton
You lost Kareem, you lost Melvin.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Any one of those situations where you're scrambling. He is a. I would rather, you know, don't throw Dion Lewis back in the lineup. Put Justin Jackson in if. If you've got your fournettes and wares and Dalvin Cooks and Tariq Cohen's start them. But Justin Jackson belongs in playoff matchups here ahead of those guys that have been disappointing you week in and week out. Just go with the new hotness in a great matchup.
Cortland Sutton
I'm going to go with Dalvin Cook, who is seemingly in a bad spot against the Seattle Seahawks. They've actually been giving it up to fantasy running backs, and I know that was that. You look at the box scores of who they've been playing. They've been playing heavy hitters. But then Jeff Wilson. My name is Jeff. I mean, like Jeff Wilson is. I was thinking about this on the drive in. Jeff Wilson is the ghost of Sean Drone for The San Francisco 49ers of the big salad himself, who's just giving you absolute incredible volume. He was perfectly fine. And Dalvin Cook looks healthy. He's. You aren't going to get 20 carries out of Dalvin Cook. But last week against the Patriots, 9 for 84 but 10 targets. I think that he's getting worked more and more into the offense and I think that he is a strong RB2.
Jason Moore
Play start staying in the Monday night game, which that is, by the way, it's Seattle and Minnesota, believe it or not, against all Odd Lockett. I'm going with Tyler Lockett. And here's the thing for fantasy owners in the playoffs, this is my advice to you. Shake what your mama gave you, okay? Your mama gave you Tyler Lockett. All season long. At this point in the season, you don't ask, boy, is he going to get the random touchdown. You ask if he's not gonna get it because he scored in nine of 11 games. I mean, two games without scoring Tyler Lockett, you got to put him in there. And I know Xavier Rose in Minnesota.
Cortland Sutton
Tyler Lockett have shut down fantasy wide receivers.
Jason Moore
Get, dude, get ready.
Andy Holloway
Oh, man, I Love it. Here's. I got to read this tweet word for word because it was. It was close to a perfect tweet came in from Curtis Patrick on Twitter. New Seahawks wide receiver 1. Tyler Lockett has a perfect 158.3 passer rating when targeted this season. We are entering week 14. There are no typos in this tweet.
Cortland Sutton
That's impossible.
Andy Holloway
That's. That's the point. That should be impossible. To be nine weeks in.
Cortland Sutton
That's impossible.
Jason Moore
Nine touchdowns and not spread out over.
Cortland Sutton
You know, three or four games.
Jason Moore
It's nine touchdowns in nine different games. Russell Wilson leans on him. This is a game where you just brought up Dalvin Cook. Minnesota is going to be able to put points up on the board. Tyler Lockett, at this point in time, I'm giving the. He's been good all year. You're not going to bench him for the playoffs matchup. I realize it's. I realize it's risky business, but it is. He's been double digits. He's one of the only players in fantasy football and double digits in something like, you know, 11 of his 13 games. So I'm just staying in those.
Cortland Sutton
All right.
Jason Moore
Season long flames.
Cortland Sutton
All right.
Andy Holloway
I'm gonna stay in some pretty hot flames myself. Off the back of a five for one and a touchdown. Chris. God. Flame broil.
Cortland Sutton
You are lucky that I don't.
Andy Holloway
I.
Cortland Sutton
Look, give me a soundboard with just two drops. No, I'll take the rim shot and the crickets.
Jason Moore
What's wrong with flame broil?
Andy Holloway
Flame broil. Chris Godwin.
Jason Moore
I started getting the Burger King picture in my head, you know, you flipping the patty on the flame. Just continue speaking.
Andy Holloway
I will continue speaking when we're done mocking the jokes.
Jason Moore
That's fine.
Andy Holloway
No, Chris Godwin is a great play this week. He is. He's going. Excuse me, sir. How dare you.
Jason Moore
Mike's a little spit taken over there.
Cortland Sutton
I'm good.
Andy Holloway
The Saints have locked down the running back position pretty much all year, but they are the worst in the league at giving up fantasy points to the wide receiver position. Chris Godwin, when DeSean Jackson has been out, I mean, look, there's three games with him out, stud. Three for 98, seven for 111 and a touchdown. Five for 101 and a touchdown. You have the highest over, under matchup of the week. The perfect, you know, matchup as far as against the wide receiver position. His opportunity is there. With the Sean Jackson gone, O.J. howard out. Chris Godwin is a.
Jason Moore
All right.
Andy Holloway
Is A must start over.
Jason Moore
Humphreys.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Jason Moore
Pronounced with an Humphreys.
Andy Holloway
Pronounced with an Humphreys.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah. I think Humphreys is safe.
Jason Moore
But your flame broiled started.
Cortland Sutton
Oh, goodness.
Jason Moore
Mike, who's your wide out?
Cortland Sutton
Cortland, Sudden. It's time.
Jason Moore
All right.
Cortland Sutton
It's very unfortunate. It's very unfortunate what happened to Emmanuel Sanders, but it's time. Cortland Sutton becomes a strong start. I agree with your assessment, Andy, that he moves from a baseline of three receptions up to five and he's a big play type of wide receiver.
Jason Moore
Kind of hard to imagine that, you know, early in the season it was like Demarius Thomas, Manuel, Sanders. They stood between him and glory. They're both gone.
Cortland Sutton
Yeah, they are.
Jason Moore
It's just crazy.
Andy Holloway
Yep.
Cortland Sutton
And it's time to play him against San Francisco. I don't mind the matchup at all. On top of that. So Cortland Sutton, he's going right in for me.
Jason Moore
My tight end start of the week is. I'm going to pass. Yeah, I'm passing on it.
Cortland Sutton
Nice.
Jason Moore
I mean, look, I feel like there are areas that, you know, vast amounts of our research and mind and brain can produce incredible fruit and results for our listeners. I'm not certain that the middling bottom tier of rando tight ends is it, but if I want to, if you'll let me, I'll give you Jared Cook. There ain't. There's nobody else to pass to Martavis. Brian's back on the. He's on injured reserve. We're talking about Marcel aitman, Jalen Richard. Look, if Jared Cook is qualifying, that's fine. If you need deeper, I'm going to go with the routes. Run baseline of CJ Uzama because he was targeted the last couple of weeks. If you have to start someone, I'd start Usama over Ian Thomas.
Cortland Sutton
What about it? Antonio Gates against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Jason Moore
No, I'll play you Zombie, you play us on in the opposite, you know, direction. So I'm, you know, hopefully the tone of my voice illustrates how I feel.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I mean, look, when we're in the playoffs, I assume you have your tight end.
Jason Moore
I'm going to pick up. I'll just go with, I don't know, Lamar Miller as my Titan.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, there you go. Because I'm going with my.
Cortland Sutton
See what you did.
Andy Holloway
My start of the week at tight end is of course the best, almost unbelievable start at tight end perhaps of all time. Jalen Samuels, if you are playing on Yahoo, he is pretty much a must start at tight end. He had to be One of our starts of the week at tight end, but I have another one for you as well. I think Austin Hooper is a player that if the narrative turns out to be correct on Aaron Rodgers, on, you know, the breath of fresh air, the. I've got to prove that it was not me, it was the coach, and he starts putting up points. I think, you know, Austin Hooper's had several big games. He gets enough targets and enough receptions on each week to where it's like he's got a mediocre baseline, which is great for tight ends, and he has upside there. And while the matchup across the way, you look at and you go, okay, well, the Green Bay packers have been pretty good against tight ends. Go look who they've played. They haven't played anybody with tight ends. They're not a great defense. I think Hooper can exploit them. And you could do worse than Austin Hooper.
Jason Moore
Mike, I was terrified to pick yours. I didn't go with it. Oh, I love the logic behind it, but I. I love it. He's been hard to lean on, but.
Cortland Sutton
Me and McD, we're doing the Vance dance. Vance McDonald up against Oakland. The absolute juiciest matchup for tight ends in fantasy football, allowing the most points, they've allowed the most touchdowns. So I'm going with Vance McDonald. Simple as that.
Andy Holloway
Jason Moore's ironclad locked and loaded. 100% guaranteed boom boom kicker of the week. My boom boom kicker alarm is blaring for the Texans kicker, Kaimi Fairbairn. You rhyme Fairbairn.
Jason Moore
That's. That may be. That may be as bad as Brooks O'Reilly yesterday.
Andy Holloway
Oh, I listened. How dare you, sir?
Cortland Sutton
Look, I mean, there's. There's a Care Bear joke just sitting there.
Andy Holloway
You're saying I got a care Baron? Yeah, but then you know where I'm going. You didn't know where I was going with Blair.
Jason Moore
Does Blair rhyme with Fairbairn?
Andy Holloway
There's nothing that rhymes with Fairbairn. Okay, all right, that was the problem. But fair enough.
Jason Moore
Fair enough.
Andy Holloway
Kaimi Fairbairn is a good, good kicker this year.
Jason Moore
Look, I commend because you could have left Kaimi Fairbairn off of your boom booms for eternity because there's a rhyming.
Andy Holloway
This late into the season without having gone with him.
Cortland Sutton
Hey, also Texans, I apologize for what my colleague has just done to your kicker.
