Hi, this is Eric Dickinson, NFL hall of Famer and you're listening to the Fantasy Footballers podcast.
Andy Holloway
Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast coming to you from pristineauction.com studios with your hosts Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright.
Eric Dickerson
Welcome in. It's great to be back. Well, two thirds of us, we're back. Mike and I are here today. Yeah, I'm sorry all you Jason truthers out there. He'll be back soon.
Andy Holloway
Hit the bricks.
Eric Dickerson
He's actually out of town with the family this week, so Mike and I got it on lockdown today. We have a dynasty this or that episode going to be very scintillating. Who and I pronounce that right?
Andy Holloway
Something that I'm not sure if people realize what we are doing for them. Okay, we just explained that the grammatical entrepreneur Jason Moore. Jason Moore himself is gone. That means that J. Grizz is filling in. I don't, I don't know if you guys watched football this past weekend. So we are literally risking our lives being around a full grown. A full grown cardboard extraordinaire grizzly bear when his team just pulled the double doink, as apparently is being now called. When Collinsworth said that it's outstanding.
Eric Dickerson
Was it, was it Michaels? I thought it was Michaels who called it double doink.
Andy Holloway
I don't remember.
Eric Dickerson
I'm pretty sure it was Michaels.
Andy Holloway
I'm pretty sure it was Collinsworth. We'll get to the bottom of this.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah. But no.
Andy Holloway
A weekend of Michaels from Do you believe in miracles? To the double doink.
Eric Dickerson
The double doink from Cody Parkey. A little parting after the fact gift for his former team. The.
Andy Holloway
Yikes.
Eric Dickerson
That's just hard. I mean I. Losing on a field goal. Not easy, not easy to swallow. And Mitch Trubisky to his credit, I mean that was his first 300 yard game since week 10. Makes a humongous throw to Alan Robinson who balled out by the way. In this game, Jerisky did everything he needed to do to win.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
And I will say, not saying he's.
Eric Dickerson
Perfect or anything, no.
Andy Holloway
But it was, it was awesome to see growth from the player that Jason had proclaimed will never Be anything remotely resembling a starting quarterback. But the. The timeout rule before field goals. Yeah.
Eric Dickerson
You want to get this off your chest, huh?
Andy Holloway
It. I hate it so much. I'm all about icing the kicker, freeze him, make him think about what he's got to do. But this BS where you can wait until literally right before they snap the ball and then call it. I know there's people on both sides of the argument. Oh, well, you get to. You get the practice kick. Like Parky. He drilled the practice kick with no problem at all. I just think it's. It's bush league and there needs to be.
Eric Dickerson
How do you change it? Do you make a rule exclusive to field goals then? Because on all other plays, you can call a timeout right up to the time the ball snapped.
Andy Holloway
I think that there needs to be just a ref. Similar to the way they. They stop a play from happening. You know, like until all the refs are set up.
Eric Dickerson
Right. Right.
Andy Holloway
You can't snap the ball yet. Even though everyone's ready to go, you cannot snap it. So the back judge or somebody just needs to have a hand up and.
Eric Dickerson
Then put it down.
Andy Holloway
When you can't call a timeout, you can no longer call a timeout. This play is going to happen.
Eric Dickerson
I think that's a pretty good way to do it.
Andy Holloway
It's just.
Eric Dickerson
It's a hokey rule. It doesn't gross, it doesn't work better one way or the other. Sometimes it works for you, sometimes it works against you. I'm with you. But at the end of the day, Nick Foles got it done.
Andy Holloway
So absolutely.
Eric Dickerson
We'll review some of that in the news and notes today. You can find us on twitter@the ff ballers. Make sure you follow us over on instagra instagram.com fantasy footballers and then we're on YouTube. The website's the fantasy footballers.com. lots going on. And then on Thursday this week, we're doing something kind of special, kind of unique. It's end of the season into the season. Your fantasy leagues are over. Unless you're playing DFS in the playoffs or some sort of playoff league. And obviously we spend a lot of our time talking through the truth of what happened over the course of the season, helping you remember the things maybe you forgot. Put some things in your mind as we head into the draft season and get you ready for next year. But on Thursday, we're going to do something kind of special. We'll take care of any news that's going on and we'll talk through some things on the quick question, but we're going to do an ama. That's an Ask me anything. So we're going to ask the Foot Clan to send in any question they have at all. I mean, as personal as you want to get. Okay. You ready for that, Mike?
Andy Holloway
Sure. Are they ready? Are they ready for the. That's what I tell my wife. Don't ask a question that you don't want to hear the answer.
Eric Dickerson
That's right. So anything about the show, anything about us, anything about the history of the show? Pretty much.
Andy Holloway
I mean, literally, waist size.
Eric Dickerson
Where are you at? Where you at right now, Mike?
Andy Holloway
Honestly, I don't know.
Eric Dickerson
Probably don't know.
Andy Holloway
Your waist. I'm not gonna answer now. Maybe that's. Maybe that's one of the questions.
Eric Dickerson
You don't want to spoil it.
Andy Holloway
No. What an incredible teaser. Show up Thursday and find out Mike's waist size.
Eric Dickerson
36. 36.
Andy Holloway
Probably.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah. Probably, yeah.
Andy Holloway
Mr. Four baskets of fries.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah, it's a whole nother. I took the reins from Jason at lunch today. I went, you know, devil on your shoulder.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Eric Dickerson
Angel on your shoulder. Went to Red Robin. Got this.
Andy Holloway
The problem is Angels love french fries.
Eric Dickerson
The low calorie salmon surrounded by four baskets of french fries with ranch.
Andy Holloway
The old Mitch Hedberg joke about how you should be able to eat junk food with a carrot.
Eric Dickerson
Oh. And have it cancel out when it.
Andy Holloway
Gets in your stomach. The carrots. Like, hey, it's cool. He's with me.
Eric Dickerson
Yes, I agree. All right, let's go ahead and jump into the news.
Andy Holloway
News and notes from around the league presented by Sleeper.
Eric Dickerson
All. What are some general thoughts, Mike, that you have on wild card weekend? We got some stats for you. Okay. Of the eight starting quarterbacks, Mitch, these are all.
Andy Holloway
The three of these are actually gnarly for wild card weekend.
Eric Dickerson
Of the eight starting quarterbacks, Mitch Trubisky was the only one to top 300 passing yards with 303. There were 10 total passing touchdowns on wild card weekend, and nobody threw more than two.
Andy Holloway
And here's the big one.
Eric Dickerson
No team scored more than 24 points. Props to the Dallas Cowboys.
Andy Holloway
For Dallas leading the way, the Dallas Cowboys. One, congratulations for winning a playoff game. Two, the highest scoring team of the weekend.
Eric Dickerson
So let me ask you a question. Amazing, because we love offense as fans, right? Chiefs, Rams, Saints. This is exciting. And then there were these two teams, the Ravens and the Bears, that won with defense. And those teams went home on a weekend in which only 24 points was scored by the highest scoring team in which it was a defensive weekend. But the Colts defense showed up. Right. The Chargers defense showed up. The Eagles defense showed up.
Andy Holloway
Here's the problem. The old. It goes back to the old adage that defense travels. Right.
Eric Dickerson
Right. But apparently it doesn't.
Andy Holloway
Or the Ravens and the Bears, I mean, they were at home, so their defense was out.
Eric Dickerson
Defense travels in the playoffs. I like that. The Colts, congratulations. Cowboys, Chargers and Eagles with the wild card weekend victories. Cody Parkey, as we said, with the double doink on the 43 yarder, the Bears, great season. 12 and 4, by the way, people. Bright future. If you are a Bears fan. You hear that, Jay? He doesn't care.
Andy Holloway
Certainly the future is bright. The ball was tipped.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah, it was. It was just.
Andy Holloway
Just in case people had not actually heard that.
Eric Dickerson
Properly tipped into two uprights.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Eric Dickerson
Trey Burton was a surprise add to the injury report on Saturday. Came out of nowhere. My groin. The groin. Groin will get you not, you know, whatever the opposite of Alan Robinson is. That's what Josh Adams was. One rush, two yards. They didn't really get the running game going. We'll see what happens next week. Only four offensive touches for Tariq Cohen. Yeah, that doesn't make a lot of sense.
Andy Holloway
That was absolutely bananas considering how ineffective Jordan Howard was and you knew going into the game. Fletcher Cox is back for the Philadelphia Eagles and since he had been back, they have been absolutely just wiping out and shutting down the run. How do you not get more touches for Tariq Cohen is. It was absolutely ridiculous. Hot Lockett had himself a monster game. And then a bit mild bit of news from that Cowboys game.
Eric Dickerson
Alan Hearns, if you saw it, gnarly, rough injury.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, absolutely rough for Alan Hearns. He is expected to be ready by the return of football in August. So that's great news for the man Hearns. But that injury man, no, it's not good.
Eric Dickerson
Hey, and if you're playing along with us over at the Foot Clan Challenge. So that would be the NFL playoff challenge.
Andy Holloway
Well, by the way, we did it. We are the second largest group.
Eric Dickerson
Yes.
Andy Holloway
Over at the NFL Playoff challenge, the.
Eric Dickerson
Only one larger would be the default.
Andy Holloway
I think they put everybody in.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
So some good work.
Eric Dickerson
And a shout out to the listener who's currently winning, who is. Carry On Bongson. All right. That's their name and here's who they have. Carry On.
Andy Holloway
I don't know why that's so funny to me, but it is.
Eric Dickerson
It's funny. Andrew Luck, Jordan Howard. Ezekiel Robinson. Tyler Lockett, Eric Ebron. Mike Badgley. Chicago Bears. So this is.
Andy Holloway
So he lost.
Eric Dickerson
Carry on. Bongson is not going to win this thing.
Andy Holloway
Probably not.
Eric Dickerson
So I'm sorry. Carry on.
Andy Holloway
How's your team doing?
Eric Dickerson
My team is.
Andy Holloway
My team is my head.
Eric Dickerson
My team has zero points.
Andy Holloway
My what? So you took all bye week, guys?
Eric Dickerson
I took all bye week.
Andy Holloway
My team was a 100% Chiefs, but I also had two Chicago Bears.
Eric Dickerson
Oh, that's unfortunate.
Andy Holloway
Alan Robinson got me a lot of points, but now I get no 2x multipliers. No.
Eric Dickerson
I have Mahomes, Gurley, Camara, Thomas, Tyreek, Kelsey Lutz and the Saints. So I'm. If the Saints or the Chiefs go out, I don't have a shot.
Andy Holloway
Right.
Eric Dickerson
Big news. As a Cardinal fan, I'm kind of sad, but Bruce Arians is likely to be named the next head coach of the Buccaneers. Could be today when this is being released, because we did this the day before and Bruce Arians returning to coaching from the booth. Look, in Arizona, we loved him. He was a great coach.
Andy Holloway
We need that instant fantasy reaction. Bruce Arians goes deep. Jameis Winston and Mike Evans.
Eric Dickerson
It's great news for Chris Godwin. It look, you could paint 100 pictures of what James Winston's off season looks like. It's as good as it gets.
Andy Holloway
Yes. Sorry.
Eric Dickerson
Jack Nicholson.
Andy Holloway
Isn't that the Helen Hunt movie, too?
Eric Dickerson
Is that Brooks? Can you confirm that? Is that correct? Yeah, I know you're a big Helen Hunt guy. Yeah, I think that's right, guys.
Andy Holloway
Fair enough. Look, the big question for me is, look, James Godwin, Jameis Evans and Chris Godwin. That's very exciting.
Eric Dickerson
O.J. howard.
Andy Holloway
O.J. howard is the biggest question mark. Because he was ascending. I was ready to have him.
Eric Dickerson
Hasn't Aries traditionally been a non tight end guy? Yes, and that's the problem.
Andy Holloway
That's the problem is will the offensive scheme overcome Jameis Winston's propensity to target the tight end position heavily? OJ Howard was on the direct precipice of a massive breakout this year before he went on to the ir.
Eric Dickerson
You would hope that Arians will not get in the way, but it is worth monitoring. Certainly it's exciting for James Winston's future, though. Arians is just. He's a vertical passing guy. He's not going. He's going to be a player's coach, which is what we said three or four episodes ago about Winston. You need somebody in his corner. You know, you need somebody in his corner. So ESPN's Chris Mortensen reporting that Antonio Brown.
Andy Holloway
I wasn't done with the Bucks.
Eric Dickerson
Oh, you weren't?
Andy Holloway
Because I just had another thought.
Eric Dickerson
Is this a rhyme or some sort of pun?
Andy Holloway
Do you want it to be?
Eric Dickerson
No, No, I don't.
Andy Holloway
Ronald Jones.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Not a pass catching running back.
Eric Dickerson
No.
Andy Holloway
And Bruce Arians likes his running backs to be workhorse guys who can also catch the ball.
Eric Dickerson
Is that how you view Peyton Barber, though? Are you looking at them making a full change?
Andy Holloway
That's just bringing that up. That, that Ronald Jones would certainly be a hot topic of conversation as we move in. What. What does the team do with Peyton Barber? Does Ronald Jones, second round pick, does he get the opportunity? But that is going to be a struggle for Ronald Jones. And pass protection. That's huge for Bruce Arians to get guys on the field.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah. Yeah. This is big news too, because we weighed in on the last episode. Chris Mortensen thinks there's a high probability Antonio Brown is traded.
Andy Holloway
This is crazy.
Eric Dickerson
I think on the last show, you. You had the highest percentage chance that you thought he was going to be traded by reading the tea leaves, Mortensen saying this. Look, it's going to be a very interesting offseason now, I believe. Is it March 2nd when his guarantee hits?
Andy Holloway
No, no. He just gets a $2 million bonus.
Eric Dickerson
Right. But it's in their advantage. It's in their best interest to trade him before that could be. That's what. That's what I had read. Yeah.
Andy Holloway
It's all over the place. So. Because there's also the waiting until June 1st, so then they can start. They can split up the dead cap.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
So I'm not exactly sure what they view as the best foot forward, but if they really, if they honestly think this team is so negatively impacted by Antonio Brown.
Eric Dickerson
Well, would you.
Andy Holloway
Could you imagine this is going to.
Eric Dickerson
Be, I mean, a year ago. Right. We start. We started this past season. Antonio Brown left. Bell, you could argue for the past few years, you could have taken him 1, 2 in any draft.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Eric Dickerson
Both could be off the team next year. I mean, we already know Lev's going.
Andy Holloway
That's ludicrous.
Eric Dickerson
So the Chargers, they've activated Hunter Henry as of today off the PUP list.
Andy Holloway
That's awesome.
Eric Dickerson
So he should be playing at least in some capacity, which, if you saw Virgil Green made, cleared. Cleared the way for him with his catch fumble to Virgil Green's credit.
Andy Holloway
Then he came in with a. With a monster block.
Eric Dickerson
That's what he does best.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah. And then Demarius Thomas is, quote, not thinking about retirement with the Achilles injury.
Andy Holloway
Demarius Thomas People are thinking about it. Retirement is thinking about you.
Eric Dickerson
That's not nice.
Andy Holloway
Sorry. I love Thomas, but this is going to be a tough one.
Eric Dickerson
It's going to be tough to come back and then be. He was already in the decline.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Eric Dickerson
All right. That was today's news and notes. By the way, we want to remind you, this year, news and notes sponsored by Sleeper. And look, you should play on a fantasy sports platform that does not suck. Modern design, infinite customizations. Check out the Sleeper app. Okay, without further ado, we're going to move into a little game we've got planned for today. Little this or that.
Andy Holloway
Dynasty Edition. Is that enough gusto?
Eric Dickerson
Oh, I thought it was great.
Andy Holloway
Okay. I felt like 80%.
Eric Dickerson
Oh, you didn't. Like, you didn't give it enough? Yeah, well, I mean, that's your favorite drop, so, I mean, really, you. You know, you owe it everything you got. Everything you got. You want to try again?
Andy Holloway
I'll blow the voice out.
Eric Dickerson
All right. This for that Dynasty edition. So we're gonna walk through some wow and Brooks names.
Andy Holloway
Where did we get these from? Brooks, is this out of your. Your brain cavern or is this source. Where did we get these?
Eric Dickerson
Started with the brain cavern and verified through different rankings and just. Just make sure as close. So these are. These are tough, hotly debated, tough calls for Dynasty. By the way, if he has a brain cavern, wouldn't that necessitate no brain?
Andy Holloway
Why you got to read into my low key insults?
Eric Dickerson
I'm just wondering how Brooks feels about that. Why you gotta insult me?
Andy Holloway
Wait a minute.
Eric Dickerson
Wait a minute. All right, this or that. Dynasty edition. This or that. Baker Mayfield or Carson Wentz in a dynasty league.
Andy Holloway
Seems like an absolutely impossible question to be asking if you flip the calendar back one year. But Baker is absolutely on the ascension. He's surrounded by weapons.
Eric Dickerson
He broke the rookie record for touchdown.
Andy Holloway
He did.
Eric Dickerson
He's 23 years old. Carson Wentz is 26.
Andy Holloway
This is a. I hate to do it. I honestly hate to do this, but you have to ask, at least ask the question now of Carson Wentz. What happens if Nick Foles wins another Super Bowl?
Eric Dickerson
Nothing.
Andy Holloway
Nothing. You think he's firmly entrenched?
Eric Dickerson
I do. I mean, his option for next year is $20 million. You cannot pay him 20 million.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I understand, but I'm saying, do you. Do you make the switch to Nick Foles, which is. I don't think you should. But when a quarterback wins you back to back Super Bowls, and then you go to this other guy.
Eric Dickerson
I know, I know, but I Don't think that's going to be the dominating reality here. The odds are still long. They have to go into New Orleans next week and win. And then even if they do that, they got to go into what, Los Angeles, most likely Dallas. I mean, they're on the road a couple more games before they hit the Super Bowl. If I'm looking at this decision, I'm remembering back to last season. Carson Wentz, the darling of every fantasy football team.
Andy Holloway
He was an MVP candidate.
Eric Dickerson
Absolutely. He was the NFL MVP through the time in which he got hurt. And I remember going into the off season, and we brought this up. We put him in our ultimate draft kit as a regression because the numbers he was putting up was. They were unsustainable from an efficiency standpoint. When you factor that in, when you factor in the fact that the newest thing is always. It always seems like the best. I mean, even when you look at Patrick Mahomes, people need to realize over the last 14 years, we haven't had a quarterback repeat as the number one fantasy quarterback. Does Patrick Mahomes have the best odds of doing that? I don't know. Didn't Aaron Rodgers a few years ago?
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Eric Dickerson
And that didn't happen. And so we cannot look at it with the most recent bias. We can. Which I think if you do that, you focus on Wince and his injuries and the fact he didn't have a prolific year, and you focus on Baker, the strong finish and the big numbers. I think organizationally the Eagles are a better organization, and I think age is close enough to where I will stay. I'm going to stay with Carson Wentz on this.
Andy Holloway
Carson just turned 26.
Eric Dickerson
He did. And I'm going to stay with Carson Wentz here, man.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I think I stay with Carson Wentz as well. But I'm excited for.
Eric Dickerson
I'm excited for Baker.
Andy Holloway
I am, too.
Eric Dickerson
I think they'll both be very successful.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. Before we move into the next this or that, I want to thank today's sponsor, Seat Geek. Getting tickets online can be far too complicated. That's why SeatGeek is the way to go. Eric Dickerson
All right. This is a great one. And by the way, I'll just say this. I haven't seen any of these. I haven't even looked at him. I want this to be a fresh and lively debate. If we have disagreement on this show and I haven't seen him, this is a great one because when I see it, I don't have an answer instantaneously. So we'll walk through it, right? Damian Williams or Jerick McKinnon? Damian Williams or Jerick McKinnon? Jerick McKinnon put in the best position he could possibly be. 26 years old, signed to be the guy. Kyle Shanan, San Francisco. Everything was looking up and would have ended up great.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Eric Dickerson
Because of how well Matt Burrito was this year. Jeff Wilson, how well they performed.
Andy Holloway
The Colonel. Colonel Mustard.
Eric Dickerson
Oh my gosh. I forgot about him. I did. That stinks.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Eric Dickerson
Did we even have Colonel Mustard into our nickname of the year?
Andy Holloway
No, people didn't want it.
Eric Dickerson
Well, we didn't come up with that one ourselves.
Andy Holloway
What?
Eric Dickerson
That was a. It was a. I think it was a. Oh, wait, I'm thinking of something else. Sorry.
Andy Holloway
Yes, we certainly did.
Eric Dickerson
How dare you? Yeah, I don't know. I'm thinking profess are plum.
Andy Holloway
All right, way to blow, brooks.
Eric Dickerson
Damian Williams, 26 years old. Some people probably hear those two names. They think Jericho's younger. You know, Damian Williams just signed a two year extension with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Andy Holloway
Here's where this one is extremely difficult because when I see this, I'm like, it's easy. Give me Jerick McKinnon because he's. I think he's far more secure heading into his role. Yes, he is coming off an ACL tear, but in 2017, 51 receptions hand picked to be the Kyle Shanahan guy. He just fits the system so well. But if Damian Williams turns into the guy for Kansas City, as Andy Reid has done for essentially his entire career, which is have one primary running back with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs offense Damian Williams will easily outscore Jerick McKinnon if he ends up as the leader of the timeshare. That's why it's.
Eric Dickerson
I think it can be difficult to paint that picture.
Andy Holloway
But there's no guarantee that Williams, as.
Eric Dickerson
Of right now, there's no guarantee he can. Even if he's given that job. There's no guarantee. Look, weeks 14 through 16 in limited time, he was the RB3. So that's what Mike's saying. When he is, yes, the guy. That offense is so good that it turns him into a monster. But I don't have confidence that they don't draft another player that, you know, they're not paying him well.
Andy Holloway
Sure. But Jericho McKinnon's got Matt Breida who just had an excellent season.
Eric Dickerson
I know it's a very difficult decision.
Andy Holloway
And Andy Reid, when they, when they talked about the extension for Damian Williams, it was to me the impact of the verbiage saying that Damian Williams has earned this contract of just really emphasizing how they gave him the shot at the one year deal. He worked his way up from special teams to getting some snaps in the backfield to now being a full time contributor.
Eric Dickerson
You've got to make a brutal decision here. Then let's say it's, it's on. You got to make it tomorrow.
Andy Holloway
Right. And I'm imagining it right now because I have Damian Williams.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah. If someone offered you Derek McKinnon, if.
Andy Holloway
Jerick McKinnon was sent to me for Damian Williams, I, I think I would probably. I feel like you're gambling because the role is not secure for Damian Williams. But sometimes, sometimes the dice come up.
Eric Dickerson
I'll take Damian.
Andy Holloway
I'm going to take Damian Williams too. I don't like knowing it, knowing that it's a gamble and can blow up in my face.
Eric Dickerson
It's a gamble both ways. Jerick McKinnon, we've yet to see him hold up. We've yet to see him give you a good yard per carry on the ground over the course of a long season. I think it's a gamble both directions. I would take Damian Williams in the offense.
Andy Holloway
It's crazy.
Eric Dickerson
And that this is where we are. It is. All right, Brooks, who would you take in that? This or that? Damian Damien. Wow. All right.
Andy Holloway
Recency bias. Yeah.
Eric Dickerson
This or that? Yeah. What's. What's Jim Kennan done in weeks?
Andy Holloway
What did he do?
Eric Dickerson
Weeks 14 through 16.
Andy Holloway
Zeros. Yeah.
Eric Dickerson
All right. This or that? Ty Hilton or Adam Thielen? That's a good question. I mean ti Hilton. 29 years old. Adam Thielen, 29 years old.
Andy Holloway
I'm going to age does not factor into this.
Eric Dickerson
Look, Hilton's been banged up. Hilton is not a PPR guy and I think in almost any situation right now I would go with Adam Thielen. I think that one's a little less close.
Andy Holloway
Even with the last thing we saw of Adam Thielen is him so badly wanting to punch Kirk Cousins directly in the face.
Eric Dickerson
Yes, Mike, yes. I love Ty Hilton, but I've seen a little bit of a, you know. And this is to Andrew Luck's credit but Andrew Luck is willing to diversify where he puts that ball. It can be four wide tight ends on any given week. They don't have a lot of other weapons outside of Hilton. But look who catches a touchdown in the, in the playoff game. Donchrell Inman on the other side. I've seen Cousins lock in on Adam Thielen. Adam Thielen 153 targets 113 receptions. He's better when it comes to scoring touchdowns than I think Ty Hilton is or ever has been. Hilton's never had a season over seven. Thielen had nine this past season. I'm going to go with Adam Thielen.
Andy Holloway
It's really tough. Adam Thielen after the nuclear hot eight game start where he had 100 yards in every single game the second half of the season. 39 receptions for 448 yards and three touchdowns.
Eric Dickerson
That's from week eight on.
Andy Holloway
That's from week nine on.
Eric Dickerson
So read those numbers again.
Andy Holloway
39 for 448 and three. That's a, that's a 16 game season of 78 receptions, 9890996 yards and six touchdowns.
Eric Dickerson
Right.
Andy Holloway
So it's. I didn't realize it was that bad.
Eric Dickerson
Well, I mean we all can carve up a lot of the. We can cut up a lot of people's seasons that way but when you look at the.
Andy Holloway
Not so nicely right in half like Adam Thielen did for us usually got to use a jigsaw.
Eric Dickerson
All right.
Andy Holloway
Go in and out and his. You just.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah, that's. I mean it's fair but awesome.
Andy Holloway
Wide receiver three. That's brutal.
Eric Dickerson
All right. I mean he's played. That's the other thing. Hilton battled injuries all year long. Thielen's been consistent. Been out there.
Andy Holloway
I'm going to take Hilton.
Eric Dickerson
All right. Brooks split the difference for us. Who taking Ty. Wow. I will say you guys in your.
Andy Holloway
Recency in, in Hilton's favor, Andrew Luck Is he's the long term solution for Indianapolis.
Eric Dickerson
Oh, Kirk Cousins is too. He has to be.
Andy Holloway
You think he'll be there?
Eric Dickerson
He has to be.
Andy Holloway
No. Well, he's going to be there for two more years.
Eric Dickerson
Wasn't it a four year deal or was it.
Andy Holloway
No, I thought it was three.
Eric Dickerson
Three years. 84.
Andy Holloway
I'll verify that.
Eric Dickerson
I just want to add in I had. Thielen is 29. He's actually 28.
Andy Holloway
Guys.
Eric Dickerson
Oh, Brooks.
Andy Holloway
That changes everything.
Eric Dickerson
Does it?
Andy Holloway
No. Okay. Okay, I'll take Hill. Yeah, it was a three year deal.
Eric Dickerson
Told Brooks that it did change everything. He would be so sad right now. He would be like, what have I done?
Andy Holloway
His brain caverns ringing.
Eric Dickerson
Ding a ling a ling. Alan Robinson or Jarvis Landry? This or that? Alan Robinson. Jarvis Landry. Mike, are you gonna relay any of that Baker excitement into Jarvis? Jarvis Just 25 years old or are you going with? I'm sorry, that's Alan Robinson. That's 25, Jarvis 26. Jarvis has never missed a game.
Andy Holloway
That's nice because Alan Robinson is. He's missed a lot.
Eric Dickerson
I think I take.
Andy Holloway
Man, I think I take Alan Robinson.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah, I do too.
Andy Holloway
This one is.
Eric Dickerson
This season was difficult with Jarvis. It really was. It was a hard season for Jarvis. Landry and Landry, four touchdowns. That's what Robinson had on the season. We saw the big playoff game. Look, it's close. Have you. Let me ask you a different question. All right. What's your waist size? No, not. Not really. Here's the real question. Who do you want on your team in the NFL? Is it the same answer?
Andy Holloway
Wow.
Eric Dickerson
Or do you. Do you go with somebody different? Robinson was hurt this year, so his finish. His finish was worse than what Landry's was.
Andy Holloway
I think Robinson makes a bigger impact on your team really, when you're getting good. Alan Robinson, which we've seen very, very small amounts of, we had his sophomore year was incredible. Bits and pieces of this game were also of this season were incredible. Meanwhile, Jarvis, his correlation when Baker was actually succeeding Jarvis was frequently doing nothing. He did have a couple games over 100 couple games with a touchdown during that second half of the season.
Eric Dickerson
81 receptions off of the 112 he had in Miami. I mean, do you see him repeating 100 reception season again? You think that's in the cards?
Andy Holloway
I definitely think it's possible as Baker gets better and better and in the.
Eric Dickerson
Ceiling, they give him more.
Andy Holloway
The ceiling of Baker Mayfield is a lot higher than Trubisky's.
Eric Dickerson
To me, this or that. Jarvis Or Robinson Brooks a Rob.
Andy Holloway
Barely.
Eric Dickerson
I'm going to take Jarvis.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. I'm going to take Jarvis just by a little bit. Just because of Baker. Make Baker Mayfield.
Eric Dickerson
Amari Cooper or Brandon Cooks? Amari Cooper or Brandon Cooks? This or that. Dynasty Edition.
Andy Holloway
Brooks. These are hard.
Eric Dickerson
Amari Cooper, 24 years of age, which is surprising. Brandon Cooks, 25. Both of them have played on multiple teams. Brandon Cooks this past year, 16 games played, 117 targets, 80 receptions, 1200 yards, and he basically touched.
Andy Holloway
He's technically 16 games played, but he had the game where he got knocked out right at the very beginning. So 15 games of production.
Eric Dickerson
Amari Cooper ended up 15 games, 107 for 75 and 1,007.
Andy Holloway
75. 107 targets.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah. What did I say?
Andy Holloway
You said 107.
Eric Dickerson
I'm sorry. 75 receptions, 1,005 yards, seven touchdowns.
Andy Holloway
And this is.
Eric Dickerson
This is not very close for me.
Andy Holloway
Really?
Eric Dickerson
No. I'll tell you. Brandon Cook. Every single year, Brandon Cooks does the same thing, and every single year, people don't want to trust him. Remember this year before?
Andy Holloway
Yeah, I was out.
Eric Dickerson
Look, the past four seasons, 129 targets, 117, 114, 117 catches, 84, 78, 65, 80.
Andy Holloway
Brandon Cooks is definitely the safer guy in this equation.
Eric Dickerson
You're going to be happy. Even if Amari's end of season numbers are better than Brandon Cooks, which they have never been that. Let's remember that maybe. No, they really haven't. He had one year in Oakland where he was 11, 53 and five the last four seasons for Brandon Cooks. Nine, eight, seven, five touchdowns. And you know, when he had five, he had 1200 yards. So I don't think you can make it. So even if you're happier, even if you look at the end of the season and Cooks finished lower, I think you're just happier with Cooks on the course of the season or the way Amari Cooper drops those big boy games and then disappears. That's where I'd go.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. And I think Cooks is the safer guy. He's going to be more consistent for your team, but he's also not necessarily the number one. There will never be a number one on the Rams. That's just not how the offense works. That hasn't stopped him from being awesome this year for fantasy purposes. But Amari Cooper, you got. You got some glimpses of what that ceiling could be as the alpha guy.
Eric Dickerson
Isn't that what you try to talk me out of, though, Mike, when you. That's a narrative argument where it's like. That's why I avoided wide receiver twos.
Andy Holloway
Right.
Eric Dickerson
In years past is because of the glimpse, the great glimpse of the number one.
Andy Holloway
Right.
Eric Dickerson
We've had four years of Amari. Do you. Are you telling me right now you want him on your fantasy team?
Andy Holloway
Yes, I do. I do want him on my fantasy team. I'm going to take Cooks over him.
Eric Dickerson
So he had. Here's Amari Cooper for you. Last five weeks of the season, 34 fantasy points.
Andy Holloway
Oh, that's very good.
Eric Dickerson
Nine and a half, 45.
Andy Holloway
That's incredible.
Eric Dickerson
Six, four, three.
Andy Holloway
What was Cooks in those.
Eric Dickerson
In those games?
Andy Holloway
The end of the season was not great. Yeah.
Eric Dickerson
7.7 and 20.
Andy Holloway
I'll tell you, I'll take Cooper's numbers over those over the.
Eric Dickerson
Not over the last three weeks, but over the last five, you're saying.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah.
Andy Holloway
Trust me. I had Cooks on my playoff team, and he.
Eric Dickerson
3, 8, 7, 20.
Andy Holloway
His beginning of the year was a.
Eric Dickerson
Lot better than you would have expected. Better from him with no Cooper cup. Yeah, but that's kind of the problem, you're saying is Cooks has never been able to be that number one all by himself. So who are you taking?
Andy Holloway
I'm taking Cooks.
Eric Dickerson
I'll take Cooks. Brooks, you gonna go hometown guy Cooper. Yeah, you would. All right, tight end. All right. Evan Ingram or David and Joku. This is a good one. David and joku. So young. 22 years old. Evan Ingram, 24 years old.
Andy Holloway
Evan. The enigma.
Eric Dickerson
Evan Ingram is only held back by a lack of. Lack of targets.
Andy Holloway
Enigram.
Eric Dickerson
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Andy Holloway
I'm going to get it there. Just give me a moment.
Eric Dickerson
Just. No, you're not.
Andy Holloway
Brooks. No, no, Brooks.
Eric Dickerson
Brooks won't even look at.
Andy Holloway
I'll go back into the line.
Eric Dickerson
You. That Matt Nagy wins.
Andy Holloway
There's something there.
Eric Dickerson
There's nothing there at all. Give me David. In joking over Evan Ingram.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Eric Dickerson
I think that the ceiling is yet to be seen for David and Joku.
Andy Holloway
I can agree with that. But.
Eric Dickerson
But you had a great year from Evan ingram, rookie season 64, 722 and 6.
Andy Holloway
I think that the ceiling for Ingram. We haven't seen it either.
Eric Dickerson
It's kind of crazy, though, to look at these numbers, but they can't get.
Andy Holloway
Him going with Beckham. That's.
Eric Dickerson
That's a problem.
Andy Holloway
So infuriating.
Eric Dickerson
Look, David and Joku is a man. You'd think they'd both be huge red zone weapons at their size.
Andy Holloway
But I feel like Ingram's actually not huge.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah. And joke Is built to be more of a red zone target. So I think overall if you're looking projecting a career, I mean I think you're going to have year in and year out. David and Joku is going to come down with more, more touchdowns.
Andy Holloway
Anger's only six three.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah. Njoku's over eight feet tall.
Andy Holloway
Him and Mo Ali Cox, well, he.
Eric Dickerson
Can jump to over.
Andy Holloway
He's the only man, the only man who can high five Moe Le Cock standing up is David and Joker.
Eric Dickerson
That's right. But Look, David Njoku, 56 for 639 and 4. That's not very far off of that rookie year pace of Evan Ingram. And he's two years younger. He's on a team that has an established quarterback. This is dynasty. It's not just next season. And in a dynasty format, I'll take the younger, better red zone player with the quarterback that I believe in for a long period of time.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, the cornerback really helps out David and Joku's case. But I'm going to take Evan Ingram.
Eric Dickerson
Brooks this or that.
Andy Holloway
I'll go with Njoku.
Eric Dickerson
All right, here's another interesting one. Kenny Golladay or Robert Woods? Robert woods was on many people's, you know, fantasy MVP list this year for what he did. 70 receptions, over a thousand yards, five touchdowns. Despite missing three games. Kenny Golladay had the breakout year. Right? Did I just give you Kenny Golladay's numbers?
Andy Holloway
You gave Kenny Galladay's numbers.
Eric Dickerson
That makes so much more sense.
Andy Holloway
I think they were masquerading as Robert Woods.
Eric Dickerson
I was really confused. I was like, man, that's not as impressive. Woods was 86 for 12, 19 and 6.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Eric Dickerson
Golladay was 70 for 10, 63 and 5 and missed the three games. So Galladay more prototypical wide receiver, one size 25 years old, 119 targets. Robert woods breakout season. A lot of people look, woods has been in the league for what will be, this will be a seventh season. Galladay at nearly the same age, only his third season coming up. Who would you rather have, I mean, better offense obviously in Los Angeles. Yeah, this is a very difficult one for me.
Andy Holloway
It is a very difficult one because this is, I mean this is almost identical to the Amari Cooper, Brandon Cooks dilemma where Kenny Golladay could take, he could take another step.
Eric Dickerson
Golladay is A and B, he could.
Andy Holloway
Be a 13008 to 10 touchdown guy.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah, I was gonna say he's a, he's a double digit touchdown guy in the waiting. That's what I Think he's just too big. Too big. Too strong. Great body control.
Andy Holloway
Great body.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah. I mean smooth. The smoothest.
Andy Holloway
So smooth.
Eric Dickerson
We hadn't factored in the smooth. Yes. Routes.
Andy Holloway
Robert Woods. A little rough, a little coarse to the touch.
Eric Dickerson
Out of tune sometimes.
Andy Holloway
Some people call him Robert Sandpaper woods because he's so rough.
Eric Dickerson
But he was much better than Kenny Galladay. Is you. So where are you at?
Andy Holloway
How much?
Eric Dickerson
I think I'll take bird in the hand with Robert Woods.
Andy Holloway
I'm going to take the two in the bush. Then I'm going to take Kenny Golladay. Kenny G. Give me the saxophone and.
Eric Dickerson
Just, just all you need.
Andy Holloway
Just hope he's ascending still.
Eric Dickerson
Brooks, let's. Let's have you split the difference here. Kenny G. Kenny G. All right.
Andy Holloway
Yeah, you would. Don't like you.
Eric Dickerson
All right, let's move on to the mailbag.
Andy Holloway
Mailbag. Mailbag. Damn.
Eric Dickerson
All right. If you have a question for the fantasy footballers podcast, you can go to the website the fantasy footballers dot com. Submit a question on the site or dial our voicemail hotline, 302464, TFFB. All right, let's jump in. First question from Nigel in Toronto. Nigel, they call you in Toronto.
Andy Holloway
Bonjour.
Eric Dickerson
My keeper league finally voted to change the waiver process to fab for next year. But now we need to vote on a low price for. I'm sorry. To vote on the price for free agents once the waiver process is complete. $0 bids or $1 bids, what do you prefer? Love the show. Listened for the last three years. Thank you for listening.
Andy Holloway
I'm confused. So you have fab going?
Eric Dickerson
No, they want to know whether that you allow $0 bids after the fab is over or even during. Because after fab runs, do you force people to to pay a minimum of a dollar for a waiver pickup or do you let them go zero dollars?
Andy Holloway
Sure.
Eric Dickerson
We go zero dollar bids in all our leagues.
Andy Holloway
Well, we're also rolling, as in it runs fab every day that waivers run. We don't do the combination. Yeah, we don't do a combination of fab on Wednesday and then the floodgates are open and it's a free for all after that. Yeah, once the fab runs, free agents are locked again and you can bid.
Eric Dickerson
On someone for tomorrow and you can make zero dollar bids.
Andy Holloway
Of course. Yeah, you have to be able to do the zero dollar bids. The only tough thing about this method which is superior in my opinion to everything else of free agency is sometimes Sunday sucks that you have to prepare and make a really tough decision because you have a questionable player in the afternoon and you know that you cannot add someone in the afternoon if you have to if something goes wrong.
Eric Dickerson
That's true.
Andy Holloway
But even with that, it's just part of the preparation. Everyone knows the rules.
Eric Dickerson
All right. Bill, in Duncan. Oh, I don't know where Duncan is. Donuts? Oh, we'll go with that. I'm in a league where several members want to eliminate the kicker position. The commission won't even allow a vote on it. Is this fair or not?
Andy Holloway
No, it's. To not even allow a vote is ridiculous. This is. It sounds like a communist.
Eric Dickerson
It's my league. It's mine, my league. I want three kickers.
Andy Holloway
There's a lot of people in the league. The league should go the way that the majority of players vote it to go. Or. Or if it needs a super majority. Yeah, whatever. That's the hard part is give people the option. There's no voting.
Eric Dickerson
I mean, we. There are things that I think we would require unanimous vote for in our league.
Andy Holloway
Sure. But we at least vote for it, correct?
Eric Dickerson
Yeah. What do we. We have a rule for what it's worth. I mean, we just share what we do in some of our leagues. But I believe that we've said you need three quarter vote, so you need eight of the 12 owners to agree. Now, we've taken votes on kickers being eliminated over the last couple years. We haven't hit that eight mark. I think we're going to hit it this year.
Andy Holloway
This is the year.
Eric Dickerson
Probably going to hit it.
Andy Holloway
This is the year.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah. Jason will be all wet when that vote takes place.
Andy Holloway
Just so sweaty.
Eric Dickerson
Julio in Los Angeles. Hey, guys. With recent news about Fournette's contract being voided, what is his keeper value going forward and is he a sell high candidate? I don't think he's. There's no case to be made. He's a buy low candidate. I mean, there's just no case to be made that. I see that you want to go get him. Right?
Andy Holloway
I totally agree with you. And that's why I'm making a face.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah, you're making a face you can't see.
Andy Holloway
Look, the audio people. You couldn't see that face. That was a great face.
Eric Dickerson
Here's how.
Andy Holloway
Here's what the face of a sound that. The face.
Eric Dickerson
That's what it sounded like to me.
Andy Holloway
They.
Eric Dickerson
It's not good. It's not trending the right direction.
Andy Holloway
No, it is. Certainly not. I think they'll bring him back he'll, this will be his third year, is that correct?
Eric Dickerson
Yes.
Andy Holloway
I think they'll bring him back at least for one more season, give him the chance to earn his way back into the good graces of the team. But the fact that if, if next year doesn't go well, they can just get rid of him. I actually. Is it better, is it better for Leonard Fournette's future that he actually gets cut from this team without a quarterback, ends up in some better position?
Eric Dickerson
I don't know how that happens. I just don't know how that happens, how he ends up in a better position. He's been injury plagued throughout his NFL career. This is a team that wants to build around him. They couldn't even do it and it stinks because he was a dynasty stud.
Andy Holloway
Yes.
Eric Dickerson
And he's been a player that has done what very few can do, which is, you know, carry the rock 20 plus times a game, score 10 plus touchdowns. Does he want it? Does he want that life, Leonard? Do you want that life, Leonard?
Andy Holloway
Leonard? I know you're listening.
Eric Dickerson
Lenny, old pal.
Andy Holloway
Big Lynn.
Eric Dickerson
Big Lynn, maybe a little too big. That hurt him too. But what's his keeper value going for? He's probably a holder, a sell.
Andy Holloway
Where we head into next year? Yeah, he's on Jacksonville. Yeah, the contract is just, I mean it's going to be over. Just the ominous cloud over his career until he gets another contract. Where does Leonard Fournette go in redraft?
Eric Dickerson
Well, I will take Joe Mixon, David Johnson ahead of him. Right. I mean, and those are back of.
Andy Holloway
First, early second rounders.
Eric Dickerson
I want to say third round.
Andy Holloway
Third.
Eric Dickerson
No, he won't go that low.
Andy Holloway
He won't go, he'll go in like the middle of the second.
Eric Dickerson
Marlon Mack or Leonard Fournette next year.
Andy Holloway
Oh, I'm vomiting on myself.
Eric Dickerson
No, but I'm making you choose.
Andy Holloway
Marlon Mac, I think. Oh, no, I don't like that question.
Eric Dickerson
Not fair.
Andy Holloway
No, it's gross.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah. I mean, Lamar Miller or Leonard Fournette?
Andy Holloway
That one is going to be 4net. Because I don't think Miller.
Eric Dickerson
Just from the upside.
Andy Holloway
I don't think Miller will be the guy next year.
Eric Dickerson
Let me, let's, let's keep this going. Chris Carson or Leonard Fernand?
Andy Holloway
That's even worse than the Marlon Mack question.
Eric Dickerson
Derek Henry.
Andy Holloway
Derek Henry. Yeah.
Eric Dickerson
You'll take Derek Henry? I'll take Derek Henry over Derek Henry or Chris Carson? You're not taking Carson over Henry.
Andy Holloway
I just don't.
Eric Dickerson
Philip Lindsay or Leonard Fournette?
Andy Holloway
Lindsay.
Eric Dickerson
Yeah. James White or Leonard Fournette.
Andy Holloway
Leonard Fournette.
Eric Dickerson
Okay. I think he's going to end up early. Third. I'm gonna stick with that.
Andy Holloway
That's not a fun game. No, I don't like it.
Eric Dickerson
Juan, in California, do you have any newcomer dynasty leagues set up that newcomers to your show could join and play with each other? I would like to play in a dynasty, but I don't have anybody who would really like to play.
Andy Holloway
Oh, my man, what a great question.
Eric Dickerson
We have the Foot clan leagues. Yes, footclan leagues.com third year running. We provide an exclusive forum for people who support this show@jointhefoot.com and this is where we. Literally hundreds of great fantasy players have met one another, have joined leagues, become best friends legitimately.
Andy Holloway
Yeah.
Eric Dickerson
Local leagues, online leagues, dynasty redraft, everything in between. It's a great resource. And this is kind of the time, right? I mean, between now and, you know, probably June.
Andy Holloway
Yeah. It's good to get the chips lined up right now.
Eric Dickerson
Brooks, you got. You got a look like you want to say something. I'm looking at it right now. Right at the top.
Andy Holloway
A couple posts.
Eric Dickerson
Free Dynasty league needs replacement owner. Free Dynasty lead league needs two replacements. So, yeah, so there's. There's spots to be had@footclanleagues.com and you can get access to jointhefoot.com. get in there, join a league. Have some fun. Yeah, so that does it for the mailbag. Now, at the end of every show this year, we got something a little special. Pristine deal of the day. Now, Mike is. Mike is gonna probably do that dance. The pristine deal of the day.
Andy Holloway
That's hot.
Eric Dickerson
Pristine deal of the day.
Andy Holloway
And the deal is always hot.
Eric Dickerson
Devonte Adams signed Packers jersey. Yes, he's hot on pristineaction.com $76.52.
Andy Holloway
I'm glad you included the 52 cents.
Eric Dickerson
Well, I just. Look, this is it. This is the exact deal that somebody got yesterday. Hundreds of daily auctions@pristineauction.com so we want to thank them for sponsoring the podcast in the studio. Thank you for tuning in again AMA on Thursday. Send in your questions for the show.
Andy Holloway
Don't ask about my tumm.
Eric Dickerson
You're more of a 38. Yeah. 40. 46.

Release Date: January 8, 2019
Hosts: Andy Holloway, Mike "The Fantasy Hitman" Wright (with Eric Dickerson filling in)
With Jason Moore out of town, hosts Andy Holloway and Mike Wright are joined by NFL Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson to discuss the latest in fantasy football. The trio dives straight into the main topics, ensuring listeners receive insightful and actionable advice.
Performance Highlights:
Quarterbacks:
Team Scores:
Notable Insights:
Andy Holloway criticized the "double doink" field goal miss by Cody Parkey, highlighting the emotional toll on fantasy managers:
"The double doink from Cody Parkey. A little parting after the fact gift for his former team. That's just hard." [02:39]
Mike Wright praised Mitch Trubisky's performance, acknowledging his growth despite previous criticisms:
"It was awesome to see growth from the player that Jason had proclaimed will never be anything remotely resembling a starting quarterback." [03:05]
Timeout Rule Before Field Goals:
Both hosts expressed frustration with the rule allowing teams to call a timeout right before a field goal attempt, which can disrupt the kicker's practice routine.
Andy Holloway proposed a solution to have a referee signal when a timeout cannot be called, preventing last-moment disruptions:
"You can't snap the ball yet. Even though everyone's ready to go, you cannot snap it." [03:20]
Eric Dickerson agreed, emphasizing the rule's inconsiderate nature:
"It's a hokey rule. It doesn't gross, it doesn't work better one way or the other." [04:24]
The hosts announced an upcoming "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) session scheduled for Thursday, encouraging listeners to submit any questions they have about the show, fantasy football strategies, or personal inquiries.
Eric Dickerson highlighted the interactive opportunity:
"We'll take care of any news that's going on and we'll talk through some things on the quick question, but we're going to do an AMA." [05:34]
A segment where the hosts debate and make choices between two fantasy football player options. Key discussions included:
Quarterback Choice: Baker Mayfield vs. Carson Wentz
Andy Holloway favored Baker Mayfield, citing his ascent and surrounding offensive weapons:
"Baker is absolutely on the ascension. He's surrounded by weapons." [17:39]
Eric Dickerson chose to stick with Carson Wentz despite his injury concerns, valuing his established role:
"I'm going to stay with Carson Wentz here, man." [19:18]
Running Back Choice: Damian Williams vs. Jerick McKinnon
"I'm going to take Damian Williams too. I don't like knowing it, knowing that it's a gamble and can blow up in my face." [24:12]
Wide Receiver Choices: Ty Hilton vs. Adam Thielen
Eric Dickerson leaned towards Adam Thielen for his consistent performance and touchdown potential:
"I think that one’s a little less close... I'll go with Adam Thielen." [26:07]
Andy Holloway opted for Ty Hilton, citing recency and reliability:
"I'm going to take Hilton." [28:22]
Tight End Choice: Evan Ingram vs. David Njoku
Eric Dickerson favored David Njoku for his red zone potential and age advantage:
"He's two years younger. He's on a team that has an established quarterback." [36:00]
Andy Holloway chose Evan Ingram, valuing his consistent production and fit with the team:
"I'm going to take Evan Ingram." [37:21]
Another Wide Receiver Choice: Kenny Golladay vs. Robert Woods
Eric Dickerson preferred Robert Woods for his breakout season and reliability:
"I think I'll take bird in the hand with Robert Woods." [39:30]
Andy Holloway opted for Kenny Golladay, hoping for his continued ascent:
"I'm going to take Kenny Golladay." [39:42]
Listeners submitted various fantasy football questions, including waiver processes, league rules, and player evaluations. Highlights include:
Waiver Bid Preferences:
Eliminating the Kicker Position:
"To not even allow a vote is ridiculous. This is... it sounds like a communist." [42:16]
Leonard Fournette’s Keeper Value:
"I think they're going to bring him back at least for one more season... but it's a struggle for Ronald Jones." [43:52]
Listeners are encouraged to join the Fantasy Footballers community through FootClanLeagues.com and JoinTheFoot.com, fostering connections among fantasy football enthusiasts.
Eric Dickerson emphasized the benefits:
"We provide an exclusive forum for people who support this show... have joined leagues, become best friends." [46:07]
The episode concluded with a special deal featuring a signed Devonte Adams Packers jersey available at PristineAuction.com for $76.52.
Andy Holloway on the Timeout Rule:
"It's a hokey rule. It doesn't gross, it doesn't work better one way or the other." [04:24]
Eric Dickerson on Carson Wentz vs. Baker Mayfield:
"I'm going to stay with Carson Wentz here, man." [19:18]
Andy Holloway on Leonard Fournette:
"Where do you want to go with Marlon Mack or Leonard Fournette next year? That one is going to be..." [46:11]
