Part of winning fantasy football championships is never being satisfied with the current state of your roster. How can you constantly be making improvements to win that championship trophy? Part of that is by stashing players before they break out, staying a step ahead of your league mates. And we're going to help you with exactly that today. I'm Lucas Wentzel here with Fantasy Pros, bringing you my top five waiver wire stashes ahead of week nine and next week's waiver run as well. Before we dive into that list of players though, we've got a special deal going on for you. All right now, unlock a month of Betting Pros Premium for free. By the time you're listening to this, there will only be three to four days until the November 4th trade deadline and Breeze hall has been active. I'll say on the Twitter machine. Recently he's posted cryptic GIFs and gone as far as reposting content that's advocated for how could of a player Isaiah Davis actually is. Now I I know Isaiah Davis is also above the 30% threshold I typically use for these videos, but he could become fantasy gold very quickly with Braylon Allen still sidelined for another one to two months. Essentially, Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano have both labeled the jets as quote, active sellers before the trade deadline, and the trade buzz around Breece hall is getting louder and louder by the day. Should Breece hall get traded by the November 4th trade deadline, Isaiah Davis instantly becomes the lead back in this jets backfield because in Braylon Allen's absence, Breece hall and Isaiah Davis have been the only running backs to receive touches for this team. And in Week eight it was the first time we saw the jets trust Isaiah Davis with a larger piece of the pie. He essentially split snaps with Breece hall in this game. Breeze had 40 snaps to Isaiah Davis is 33. Isaiah Davis averaged 9.29 yards per carry on seven totes for 65 yards. He caught all five of his targets for 44 yards as well. That was good for 17.9 PPR points on the afternoon in an RB11 finish on the week. The Isaiah Davis stash value is at an all time high right now because at this point the Breeze hall trade buzz is becoming deafening and he absolutely being Isaiah Davis needs to be rostered in upwards of 50% plus of leagues. You can't wait for Breece hall to get traded because it will already be too late to stash him by then. The second player on our list this week is Tank Bigsby, running back for the Philadelphia Eagles who is rostered in 27% of leagues. Now I completely understand the Eagles are on by in Week nine, but we are playing the long game with Tank Bigsby because I don't think it will be much longer that he's floating on waivers in over 70% of leagues. Saquon Barkley picked up a groin injury against the Giants in Week eight and the reporting around it has been favorable thus far. It's in Rapaport as reported. It's not considered to be serious. Saquon said himself if the game were more tightly contested he would have been able to come back into the game like that's all great, but my concern with this is that this is a soft tissue injury and these suckers can linger for an annoying amount of time. I would just rather not take that chance on assuming everything will be sunshine and roses. A okay for Saquon Barkley coming out of the bye week and we saw Tank Bigsby have a fruitful outing in relief for Saquon Barkley averaged a whopping 11 and a half yards per carry on nine totes for 104 yards. He didn't catch any passes in this game, but the only other running back to play was Will Shipley, who only received eight snaps and he didn't draw a single target either. Obviously Saquon Barkley is going to be the workhorse for this Eagles team when he's on the field and healthy, but should his groin injury linger through the Week nine bye, I think it's just better to have our bases covered. And heck, the Eagles are looking at a three game lead in the NFC east heading into Week nine. And I'm not saying they're going to take their foot off the gas the rest of the season or anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if Tank Bigsby does start to play more to keep Saquon fresh ahead of the playoffs. Up next on our list is Texans wide receiver Jalen Noel, who is rostered in 14% of leagues. We are making progress with Jalen Noel getting out on the field more. He did play more snaps than Brackton, Braxton Barrios in Week eight, although they still rotated in the slot. And we actually might have gotten a bump for Noel with Barrios suffering a chest injury and leaving the game for for a brief stint. But the true mind boggling fact from this game is that Jared Wayne played more snaps than Jalen Noel in this game. If you have never heard of Jared Wayne before, I certainly don't blame you. He was only signed to the Texans prior to Week eight and got called up off the practice squad. He he went undrafted in the NFL draft and the Toronto Agronauts took him in the CFL draft. Again, I have no clue what Nick Haley is waiting on here for Jalen Noel. Five catches on six targets for 63 yards. He ran another 3.32 yards per out this week which was ninth best of all wide receivers. He was targeted on 32% of his routes which was 13th best this week. Everything everything between the eye test the advanced metrics shows that Jalen Noel is the better player than Christian Kirk, than Braxton Barrios or whoever else. Nick Kaylee is convinced he has to rotate in in this offense and looking ahead to future weeks. Like I actually think Jalen Noel is the more reliable stash than Jaden Higgins because of the Nico Collins effect. As of this recording, I don't have 100% clarity on Nico Collins status for this week, but I would guess he returns to the lineup this week against Denver and Jaden Higgins is the one who's been playing on the outside and fighting with Nico to draw targets there. I know I've talked about Jaylen Noel rotating in on the inside as well, but when he's on the field in slot, he's the one getting targeted here. He only drew one less target than Jaden Higgins last week despite running 15 less routes. I'm a believer in the talent of Jalen Noel. I pray that Nick Cayle can get this man on the field more and if the Texans do find themselves throwing more often, that could be a big benefit for the rookie slot wide receiver out of Iowa State. The next player on our list is Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jack Besh, who is rostered in 6% of leagues. Look, you don't have to tell me that this is an incredibly gross stash. I am fully aware of that. Besh only has one game with more than two targets this year, but with the trade deadline looming, Jacoby Myers is another name generating a lot of buzz that could be dealt by November 4th. Now I understand it was Dante Thornton who saw a massive spike in snaps when Jacoby Myers missed Week 7 against the Chiefs. Thornton was the one who slotted into the ex receiver role and played only one less snap than Trey Tucker. But the fact is that we already know what Thornton's value is as the ex wide receiver in this offense and the answer is that there really isn't any. We also already know that Jacoby Myers is more of a Z or slot wide receiver anyways and Jack Besh more naturally fits into that role for this team. I always thought during the pre draft process that Jack Bash would be best utilized by a team who could deploy him as a power slot. So in deep deep leagues again, let me reiterate, deep deep leagues. I think it's worth throwing a dart on Jack Bash on the chance Jacoby Myers gets dealt ahead of the November 4th trade deadline. I don't want to make empty promises in terms of production, but there's an upside case to be made if Jack Besh does play a pseudo Jacoby Myers role without him on the team moving forward. The last player to consider stashing this week is Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland, who is rostered in 27% of leagues. Colston Loveland is a frequent flyer on this list and we got a small taste of the Colston Loveland experience without Cole Comet in the lineup last week, and I still think Loveland is such a high quality stash regardless of when Cole Comet returns. In his absence, Colson Loveland played 81% of snaps which was a clear season high. He only caught three or five targets for 38 yards. But as a top 10 pick in the NFL draft, playing under a head coach that I personally believe in, I want to also stash the talent that I believe in. Loveland just, he just moves so different at 6 foot 6, 248 pounds. It's the acceleration, the clean routes that are just so uncommon for a guy of his stature. But as we look over the back half of the season as well, there are ample ample opportunities for Loveland to have his big breakout game over the next eight weeks. He gets Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Green Bay twice during that stretch. Those are the top three teams in fantasy points per game allowed to the tight end position this year. They're all allowing over 17 points per game to the position. So as this Bears offense continues to find its footing over the back half of the season, as Ben Johnson continues to open the playbook, as Colston Loveland gets up to NFL speed, because it typically takes longer for these rookie tight ends to fly off the tarmac, the more likely it becomes that we get the big breakout game for Colston Loveland. And as I always say, with these rookies, it just takes one game before your league mates get all hot and bothered. So with a plethora of great matchups coming up, here I am stashing Colston Loveland everywhere that I possibly can. And there you have it. My top five waiver wire stashes ahead of Week nine. Go Sprint. Check out your waiver wire right now and make sure none of these players are still available in your leagues. Again, they all should be available in roughly 70% or more of your leagues. Episode: 5 Players To Stash Ahead of Week 9 (Ep. 1814)
Date: November 1, 2025
Host: Lucas Wentzel
This episode is a must-listen for fantasy football managers eager to stay ahead of their competition. Lucas Wentzel presents his top five waiver wire stashes entering Week 9, focusing on players who could break out due to emerging opportunities or trade rumors. The episode equips listeners with actionable insights to bolster their rosters before these players become hot commodities.
Theme: Lucas emphasizes the critical importance of never being complacent with your fantasy roster. Staying proactive, especially through forward-thinking waiver wire moves, separates champions from the rest.
“Part of winning fantasy football championships is never being satisfied with the current state of your roster...We're going to help you with exactly that today.”
— Lucas [00:35]
Rostered in 33% of leagues
Trend: Breece Hall trade rumors are intensifying; Isaiah Davis is next in line if Hall is moved before the trade deadline (Nov 4).
Recent Performance: In Week 8, Davis split snaps (33) almost evenly with Hall (40), delivered 9.29 YPC (7 carries, 65 yards), caught all 5 targets for 44 yards, and finished as RB11 with 17.9 PPR points.
Opportunity: With Braylon Allen injured, Davis is the clear backup and could instantly become the lead back.
Actionable Insight: Do not wait for the Hall trade to happen; roster Davis now, before the rest of your league catches on.
“The Isaiah Davis stash value is at an all-time high right now...You can’t wait for Breece Hall to get traded because it will already be too late to stash him by then.”
— Lucas [02:16]
Rostered in 27% of leagues
Situation: Saquon Barkley suffered a groin injury (week 8) – not believed to be serious but soft tissue injuries can linger.
Stats: Bigsby stepped up with 9 carries for 104 yards (11.5 YPC) and saw almost no competition (Will Shipley was only other RB, with 8 snaps, zero targets).
Rest-of-Season Outlook: With a comfortable division lead, Philadelphia may look to lighten Barkley’s early-down workload in favor of Bigsby, particularly if Barkley remains less than 100%.
Strategy: Stash Bigsby through the Eagles’ Week 9 bye as a prudent, long-term play.
“My concern with this is that this is a soft tissue injury and these suckers can linger for an annoying amount of time. I would just rather not take that chance...”
— Lucas [03:18]
Rostered in 14% of leagues
Development: Noel’s snap count continues to rise; in Week 8, outsnapped Barrios for the first time, especially after Barrios exited with a chest injury.
Advanced Metrics: Noel delivered 5 catches on 6 targets for 63 yards, 3.32 yards/route (9th among WRs), and was targeted on 32% of routes (13th).
Role: Although snap counts fluctuate, when Noel is on the field, he is clearly a preferred slot target.
Talent & Outlook: Lucas is convinced the talent is obvious and believes increased playing time is imminent, elevating Noel’s stash viability—especially with uncertainty around Nico Collins’ return.
Comparison: Lucas views Noel as a safer stash than Jaden Higgins due to the "Nico Collins effect" impacting outside receivers more.
“Everything—between the eye test, the advanced metrics—shows that Jalen Noel is the better player than Christian Kirk, than Braxton Barrios or whoever else.”
— Lucas [05:55]
Rostered in 6% of leagues
Deep Sleeper: Jack Besh’s opportunity is tied directly to the trade market, with Jacoby Myers potentially being dealt by November 4.
Role Potential: Besh likely to play a "power slot" role should Myers be traded. Not a guaranteed producer, but the profile fits for deep-league stashes.
Lucas’ Honesty: Acknowledges it’s a speculative add, but the upside is present in the event of personnel change.
“You don’t have to tell me that this is an incredibly gross stash...deep, deep leagues, I think it’s worth throwing a dart on Jack Besh.”
— Lucas [07:20]
Rostered in 27% of leagues
Opportunity: With Cole Kmet out last week, Loveland played a season-high 81% of snaps, caught 3 of 5 for 38 yards.
Talent & Profile: Top-10 NFL draft pick, rare acceleration and route running for size (6'6", 248 lbs).
Schedule: Bears face CIN, PIT, and GB twice in the second half—each a top-3 matchup for TE production (all allow 17+ PPG to TE).
Breakout Watch: Rookie TEs often break out late; Lucas urges to roster Loveland before the big game.
“As I always say, with these rookies, it just takes one game before your league mates get all hot and bothered. So with a plethora of great matchups coming up, here I am stashing Colston Loveland everywhere that I possibly can.”
— Lucas [09:45]
On Staying Ahead:
“You can’t wait for Breece Hall to get traded because it will already be too late to stash him by then.”
— Lucas [02:16]
On Injury Risks:
“I would just rather not take that chance on assuming everything will be sunshine and roses, A-OK for Saquon Barkley coming out of the bye week.”
— Lucas [03:18]
On Deep Stashes:
“You don’t have to tell me that this is an incredibly gross stash. I am fully aware of that...deep, deep leagues.”
— Lucas [07:20]
On Rookie TEs:
“Rookie tight ends, it typically takes longer to fly off the tarmac...It just takes one game before your league mates get all hot and bothered.”
— Lucas [09:45]
