Dbro, let's go ahead and jump into your sleeper starts for week number four and we're starting with the quarterback and that I think is kind of in this really big tier of the non sexy veterans if you would.
Derek Brown
Yeah man. I mean we'll kick this off with if you have QB issues. Maybe Jaden Daniels isn't playing this week. You didn't get Mario to other guys that are out there. Matthew Stafford needs to be in the conversation for streamers this week. I know he's QB16 and ECR. He's played well this year. Like he's 11th in yards per attempt, first in hero throw rate, just the touchdowns and stuff and he's barely missed like the 300 yard bonus if you play in bonus leagues and stuff for passing yardage and stuff. I, I this all comes down to me. It's the matchup. I think he's playing better than people realize and I'm not buying the Colts defense. Like some of their defensive stats I think are kind of wonky. Like they played tua, they played B Knicks and Cam or two of those three quarterbacks are struggling to start the season. But you look at what Bo Nickster did versus them and he's honestly struggling too. We could make that all three of these quarterbacks are struggling this year and Bonick carved them up. Seth like he had three passing scores. He had a 111 pass rating and he completed 73 73% of his passes. So assuming that Devonte Adams is good to go, I know he's doing with a hammy. Assuming that's the case. You're telling me that, that the Colts are going to stop Matthew Stafford with PUK and AUA on a legendary pace and devonte Adams this week? I don't see it dude. Don't see it.
Seth Wilcock
It's, it's been a better defense than I think really anyone gave them credit coming into the season. But Matthew Stafford, as long as that back holds up man, like he's a just a really solid guy with a high floor. He's not going to burn you every single week. And what I like about him specifically this season, Derek, because we've seen him attempt a lot more passes in that green and red zone right. He's number five right now in red zone passing attempts with 17 of them. Also the Rams continue to pay play at one of the faster paces in the NFL. So I think, I think if Matthew Stafford continues to see the opportunity he can produce these decent numbers. Number one in money throws right now as well. So Matthew Stafford has had a good season thus far and it's been adequate. And, and you're thinking maybe here's the ceiling game for him.
Derek Brown
Yeah, I think it's definitely a spike week in a game where you look at the total, you look at the game script, this game has has shootout potential of Daniel Jones considering a vert like the rush for the Rams and stuff like that. So it just looks like a game environment that's going to be conducive to scoring and against a Colts defense that I think is honestly just bit overrated.
Seth Wilcock
Let's go to your running backs here, Derek, where you've got a two pack of rookies, one who is slightly underwhelmed thus far and one who has absolutely blown the doors off expectations.
Derek Brown
Yeah. And I think, like, if you're looking at where ECR is at on these guys and why I'm bringing them up is because, so Trayvon Henderson is at RB30 and ECR. The next player that we're going to touch on after him is RB25 and ECR. But I think looking at the the context of these teams on rosters, you're looking at Trayon Henderson has been a guy that like, we're like, okay, do we play him? Do we not? Okay. A lot of people probably flexed him over the last few weeks and been like, oh, it's burned me. Do I go back? Should I play him again? And I'm saying, hell yes this week. Radre Stevenson put the ball on the ground twice last week, and the first time he did it, Mike V. Said, okay, I'm going to turn a blind eye to that, and kept running him out there. The second time he did it after he fumbled. The second freaking time, Seth Trayvon Henderson played 72.7, 72.2% of the snaps after the fumble.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah.
Derek Brown
Had a 63 route share, had a 12.5 target share. And now they face the freaking Panthers. And Travyon Henderson could beat the starter. Probably should be the starter. Is the starter for the Patriots this week. He's been the first back going through drills with Ramandre being the third guy in the rotation. I think it's very telling not to want to take too much away from practice reps. But that can also give you an eye into what the team is thinking. And we know that you can run on the Carolina Panthers. They've given up the third highest yards at contact per attempt and the eighth most rushing yards. Two backs. If there's ever a week for Trayon Henderson to loudly say, I'm here, I'm the dude and I'm going to sit here and put up fantasy points, it is this week.
Seth Wilcock
I absolutely Agree with you, man. Like, if you ever want to springboard your rookie running back, see some of that explosivity that we saw last year at Ohio State. Even on his first touch in the preseason when he took that kickoff back, it's this team who allowed Travis Etienne to suddenly look like the 2023 version of himself that haven't made that version since that game.
Derek Brown
But yes, in that game he looked awesome.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah, yeah, exactly. And even like the last couple weeks, like Bijan just was Steady Eddie last week had one of the better games he's had on the ground. We saw Nathan Carter get involved for the Falcons as well once, you know, that game was kind of out of reach there. So it's been a good thing to start your running backs against the Falcons and or the Panthers. Excuse me. And as long as that continues and Henderson does get the volume this week, I like him a lot. This could be the breakout game. You also have another running back who potentially had his breakout last week.
Derek Brown
Yeah, he had his breakout last week. But the thing that I want to talk about with Cam Scaboo and he is RB25 and ACR, so kind of like right button up against RB2. But the fact of it is, if you have Cam Scatterable in your roster, you might have a lot of other running backs. Like he wasn't a guy you drafted. Or with the context of rosters out there that people were like, oh, I'm expecting him to be a starter on my team entering week four. So people could be like, am I playing him at RB2? Am I playing him as a flex play? I don't know what to do with him. I love what he did last week, but now he got Jackson Dart and people are like, what's he gonna do? You look at the total and the Chargers run defense and how they're playing and they're like, man, the Giants might not put up any points this week. And I'm, I, I'm on the opposite side of this. I'm going to be ranking him aggressively. I think people should be starting him as their RB2. I think he is a game script proof running back. Look at what he did last week with the checkdowns. You think Russell Wilson can throw checkdowns like that? And Jackson Dart is not going to do that. Jackson Dart's going to access more of the field than Russell Wilson has even seen over the last 10 years. So looking at Cam Scatter. But the other thing I want to point out here, you can run on the Chargers. I want us to be very, very clear about that, you can run the ball against the Los Angeles Chargers. This defense has allowed the seventh highest explosive run rate and the highest missed tackle rate. You pair that against a tackle breaking freaking behemoth like Cam Scatter Boo who right now amongst, oh, it's almost 50 qualifying running backs. So basically every running back that's had at least 15 carries or more in the NFL right now, Cam Scatter Boo is second best in missed tackles, force per attempt and plus he's going to catch a ton of passes out of the backfield. Even if they do get down. Tyrone Tracy is missing this game. Devin Singletary is not going to play a huge role in this backfield. It is all Cam, all the time. And like I said, regardless of however this game goes, he's game script proofed with his passing down role. Very good week for Cam Scaboo incoming.
Seth Wilcock
The thing I like about Scatter Boo in this particular matchup is even if the Giants are trailing big at some point, the Chargers have allowed the six most targets and receptions to the running back position so far this season.
Derek Brown
High coverage, man.
Seth Wilcock
And yeah, and like the thing about Scatter Boo, which I think a lot of people neglected just because the way this guy's built, you wouldn't think it it's the case, but he's a really good pass catcher. He's a really good pass blocker as well. And we've seen already pay off dividends. Like right now, number 10among running backs in total receptions, eighth in receiving yards. Like he's getting the opportunity. He's making the most out of him too. And like for those efficiency nuts out there, fancy points per opportunity. Number four for scatterboo yards per route run. I know that's one of your favorite metrics. Fifth in that as well. So Scatter Boo's making the most out of his opportunity here. You love to see it shout out to our boy Scott Bogman, who got absolutely cooked all off season long for his Scatter Boo love.
Derek Brown
Oh, people tried to cook me in the, in the draft season and stuff and they were like, oh, Tyrone Tracy. Oh, Tyrone Tracy. And I'm like, tyrone Tracy's not gonna own this backfield, dude. You've looked back and I put a tweet out that I that got a lot of love this week. And I said, I can't wait until people figure out who the OC was when Peyton Hillis had his monster season. Guess what, people? That was Brian Daboff.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah, that was my first, first fantasy football season. I ever played Peyton Hillis wrote him to a chip. And uh also Derek I have a hundred to one ticket right now on Cam Scatter Boo to win the offensive.
Derek Brown
Very very be very happy that you put that that bet in all the.
Seth Wilcock
Way back in May. So I've been, I've been also on this train. Love the guy coming out of Arizona State. I hope hopefully he has a big week for fantasy managers in week number four. Seth Wilcock
Dbro, we're on to the wide receivers. Who do you have that could be passing? Catching some nice passes out there in week four.
Derek Brown
Dude, Matthew golden, he's wide receiver 41 and ECR and I'm telling you it's too low. And I know that I'm going out on a limb here. I, I understand that because we haven't seen it yet.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah.
Derek Brown
And I know that I'm dealing with small sample statistics here. I, I understand all of that. If all of this comes to fruition and week four, Matthew golden is going to have a monster game. We just saw the Dallas secondary get absolutely just roasted. You think the Green Bay packers can't do that? And you look at the, the, the Dallas coverage been very, very too high heavy. This, this rate that they're utilizing it at 54. That would be even higher if they hadn't like decided they want to have a dalliance with single high last week and now they're going to go back to too high, but against too high coverage. And the reason I bring Matthew golden up against too high, this man has a 28% target per route run rate. He has a 25% target share and he has almost a 39 first read share. And why does this matter so much? Because they are definitive coverage splits and how they utilize these guys in Green Bay. When I talk about how, how Laflore utilizes this wide receiver by committee approach that he loves so much, it is when they get certain coverages, certain looks, they're going to feature receivers more versus certain other looks. Dobbs is their guy against single high. Definitively true and true. Okay, Matthew golden against too high. Let's go, baby. And then he gets to face a secondary. Good Lord, Seth. That has given up the highest PPR points per target to perimeter wide receivers. Yeah, it's. It's golden week, dude.
Seth Wilcock
Is Bland gonna be out there? Do we know that cornerback for the Cowboys?
Derek Brown
He might, but he's gonna play the slot, probably playing the nickel. So I don't think it's gonna matter that much for golden and still. Okay, are you gonna be able to keep with Matthew golden who runs a 4 2, 4, 3 when you got one bum wheel?
Seth Wilcock
Probably not.
Derek Brown
Yeah, probably not.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah, I mean the matchup just screams start your packers pass catchers. And if you think there's an inkling here that with this type of coverage of the Dallas Cowboys are going to be running, that could be Golden. It could be, you know, lead him in store for A big week against the team that has allowed almost 100 yards more two receivers than any other team so far this season. Like Dallas has been rough man, it has been a rough secondary and it's why we kind of loved a lot of these guys for, for their offense, right for fantasy. So no Dallas Cowboys on this list. But we do have another receiver in the nfc. Who do you have for us that is also a sleeper start?
Derek Brown
So you're, you're going to be looking at this guy and I know again we're going out on a limb here. He's wide receiver 42 in ECR so not a not a highly ranked player. But I think the ceiling can definitely happen this week for Darnell Mooney. We just saw Trey Tucker and his speed cook the secondary. What do you think Darno Muni is going to do? Darno Mooney like yeah, he hasn't had a big game yet. I think that this is the spot the commanders have utilized. Single high on 56% of the defensive snaps and again I go to all this coverage data because it's trends and it matters. Darno Mooney versus Single high this year. I know this. The the statistics like the box score filling has not been there but the usage has. Seth vs single high this year Darnell Mooney 32% target share 50% air yard share 40% first read share Michael Penix is going to be looking his way early and often and this is a secondary again that we are talking about that has given up the seventh most PPR points per target to perimeter wide receivers. Darno Mooney if he can get catchable targets. And Michael Pennix has a bounce back week which I think is in the cards because I'm bringing up two Falcons teasing it here. I almost put Michael Penix on this list but I didn't want to go full Falcons and go three out of five players we're discussing here. But Michael Penix I do think the bounce back is real. I think it's going to happen this week and I think Darnell Mooney is going along for the ride as well as the next player we're going to discuss.
Seth Wilcock
I'm just really impressed by what we've seen from Mooney, especially coming off that injury. Man, I just thought it'd be a really sluggish start to him and while the production hasn't been anything, you know you're jumping over your skis about the target share 24.2% like I'm there for that, right? And you you mentioned the air yards share that's getting the work best right now. Yeah. Yeah. So I, I'm impressed for Darnell Mooney that he's not just kind of the, the third fiddle in this passing game, but he's really become a crucial part of it. And if, if Michael Penix wants to have success, it looks like Darnell Mooney is going to be a focal point of that. And, and speaking of focal points, you think that potentially the tight end in this offense also is due for a big week against the Commanders?
Derek Brown
I do. And Kyle Pitts is tight end 13 and ECR and I understand him like he's been. He's tied in 16 fantasy points per game. But the thing with Pitts, much like with Mooney, it comes down to the coverage shell matchup. And single high is where Pitts gets a lot more work, man. And again, going back to the Commanders, against single high, Pitts has seen his target share go from 17% to 19.6%. His first read share has stayed stable. And, and the Commanders have been pretty bad versus tight ends this year, Seth. Like they're giving up the highest yards per reception. So again, talking about efficiency numbers, if Pitts isn't getting 7, 8, 9 targets, if he only gets like 6 targets, can he make the most out of those against a defense that's given up the highest yards per reception to tight ends and the 10th most fantasy points per game? Kyle Pitts is not being ranked as a tight end one. He should be. He's inside of my top 10 tight ends for the week.
Seth Wilcock
The thing that's exciting about Pitts right now is again, the productivity. Nothing that's going to jump off the page. But he's out there all the time, right? Yeah.
Derek Brown
He wasn't a full time player last year and that's happening this year.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah, I mean, you can't say that.
Derek Brown
For a lot of tight ends. There are a lot of tight ends right now that are stuck in these 50 to 65% route shares and it's like if they produce, do you feel good about that? Probably not, because it's a fluke.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah, I, I want to see him and Michael Penix kind of get better on the same page. Like the quarterback rating per targets a little bit down, but this is a spot to do it. Right. And if the Commanders have Marcus Mariota out there, does that make you even more excited that maybe it's not only some short fields, that maybe Mariota, you know, lets a ball or two go arrogantly, but at the same time, maybe this is just a commander's offense that can't move the ball as well and the Falcons just have more ample opportunity, opportunity and possession time in this game.
Derek Brown
Yeah, it definitely could be the case. And then you look at just the Commanders in general like the roster is banged up. JD5 is not going to play like you're talking about. If Mario is out there, McLaurin is not going to play this week. I'd be high.
Seth Wilcock
Bill's limited.
Derek Brown
Bill is dealing with a knee injury. So it's like the thing and it goes back to the coverage structures where I think the Commanders could really suffer is the Atlanta Falcons have been very good against stopping the run. So is Washington going to be able to run the ball? Probably not very effectively and they run a lot of single high and outside of Tara McLaurin, they don't really have anybody else on that roster that could beat single high coverage. Ertz is a too high zone beater. Debo is exactly the same. And I mean even if you wanted to go like Noah Brown route, he's hurt too. So it's like the Commanders, I just, I struggle to see like versus the coverage structure in this defense, how they're going to have a lot of success moving the ball. And if McLaren is out and I think it's pretty much definitive, I don't think he's going to play this week.
Seth Wilcock
I've got two words. Jeremy McNiffles, baby. He's coming back.
Derek Brown
Here we go.
Seth Wilcock
